C
Hallelujah. Well, I have a scripture on my heart, so if you want to be seated, you can. It's in a scripture that we all know very well. Romans 8, 26. When you don't know how to pray like you ought, the Holy Ghost on the inside does. And how many of you know, dad Hagin used to teach us and tell us, you know, that the Holy Ghost isn't doing the prayer for us, praying for us. He's helping us. He's helping us. There's a translation called the Carpenter's Translation. You can't find it hardly. You have to really search to get it. But in this particular translation, it talks about how the Holy Spirit bridges the gap between the present and the future. So when we're praying in an unknown tongue, the Holy Spirit bridges the gap between the right now and our tomorrow. Aren't you thankful for that? I know. Years ago, you know, I wanted to be married, and God told me that it would come later in life. And it did. And thank God I'm married to a wonderful man. But I had to get in faith about it and believe God, and I had to pray in the spirit a lot about it because there were so many that were older and their husbands hadn't come and they'd lost their place in being in faith about it. And I had made a decision. I'm going after it. How many know you can't let where somebody else is in faith hinder where you're going. Amen. And I made a decision. I'm going after this. There would be times that, you know, I'd be watching a Hallmark movie or something, you know, and I'd be going, you know, and. And. But at the end of the movie, I would just begin to say, father, I thank you that my husband's finding me I thank you, Father. God, you desired fellowship. You created Adam and then you saw Adam needed Eve. And I thank you that my Adam is finding me. And I thank you that he is awesome. I used to call him my Italian Stallion before I knew him. And he is Italian and thank God and but. But I'll never forget the hours that I would just be in faith. Father, I thank you. I can smell his cologne. I thank you that he's mine. Just like whatever you want in faith, you go after it. But there were obstacles in the way that had to be prayed out. And so when I would pray in an unknown tongue, the Holy Spirit would bridge the gap between my right now and my future. And another part of that verse talks about how that when you pray in the Holy Spirit, it bridges the gap between the unseen realm and the scene the seen to the unseen. How many of you know the unseen realm? We're supposed to be able to tap into it all the time. That's our place. We are to live in the spirit, walk in the Spirit. The Holy Spirit lives within us. We know him. And when we pray in the Spirit, we're bridging the gap, praying out the plan of God, the purposes of God, the will of God in the earth. Glory to God. How many of you are excited about that? Thank you, Jesus. We bridge the gap. Oh, is the unseen realm real to you? Is it real to you? Is the unseen realm real?
B
It's where the glory of the Lord and His plans unfold. They unfold before you in this life. What is his plans? What is his ways? What is it he wants you to do? You pray it out and it unfolds in every way. Oh, God's plans are yours to have.
C
Will you obey and pray the plan?
A
There's never anything you face that you don't have divine help for. The Holy Spirit is called our helper, not our doer, but our helper. And the more we speak in other tongues, that's one of the primary ways he helps us. People think that when he helps, he just does things apart from us, but he doesn't. He does things in cooperation with where our faith lays hold of. Amen. So the more we speak in other tongues, the more we partake of divine help, the less we speak in other tongues, the less we partake of divine help. So what's that mean? We measure his help to our lives. He doesn't. We do. We do. And when I pastored for the 25 years, people would come and they would be facing all kinds of difficult situations and Just know this just because it's complicated on your side. Nothing is complicated on God's side. Nothing is complicated in God's realm because his realm, It demonstrates his flow. And anytime people start looking at the complications, because you can have layers on this side that you see, it looks this has to happen, and that has to happen. And this has to happen. And you hear one thing from God and unravels all those layers of complication. And you go, oh, it's just one step to take. And there, there would be times that congregation members would come and they would lay out and it sounds complicated when they would say, there's this and then there's this. And it would be, if I could say, it's domino effects of issues. And the more you talk about it, the more complicated it sounds. And the more it's complicated, the more overwhelmin and the more overwhelming, the more hopeless you think your situation is. And I would tell him, if you'll do this one thing, if you'll do this one thing, everything will come clear. And that is if you will just go and say, holy Spirit, you know, the mind of God and in the mind of God is the solution for everything.
D
That's right.
A
So I just need to hear the mind of God and if you will just take time to pray in the Spirit. Take time to pray in the spirit. You're putting yourself in the place of hearing and hearing changes everything.
D
Oh, my goodness.
A
That's right. There are precious people around my life. There's precious people who pray for me. There's precious people who speak into my life. There's precious people who feed me. But I trust my hearing to no one. I do not hand my hearing into the hands of someone else. No one hears in my behalf. And the enemy would love for you to turn your hearing into the hands of someone else that you think could be more spiritual. And that is a danger.
D
Yes, it is.
A
And you don't ever do that. You don't ever rely on someone else hearing for you more than your own hearings from God. Because God will certainly confirm things for you through someone else's hearing, but he will not confirm what you have not taken the time to hear. He can't because he doesn't work out of order. And God will never entrust your hearing to another man's mouth to speak and tell you through someone else that's not God's highest and best. Now, I will say this. When people are spiritual babies, God will assist them in a particular way. He may get a little more involved in like Pastor Craig was talking about, he heard audible voices, God speaking to him at a time of danger and emergency. But that is not. That's the exception. And the rule is hearing. And the Holy Spirit operates completely off of hearing. He hears what God says and he makes it known to us. Amen. And you can always put yourself in the hearing flow by taking time to speak in other tongues because it makes your spirit more sensitive to the Holy Spirit and gets his involvement that we're not just treating him as someone who's present but presently ignored. Right?
D
That's right.
A
But we're honoring him who we host. We host him. And the more we treat him with the dignity and honor and the place, the more he will show us things to come. Amen. Never entrust your hearing to another person's spiritual fellowship with God. Never.
B
I.
A
You want the primary way. You can't. The primary reason you can't turn your hearing over to someone else that you think prays more.
D
Oh, that's right.
A
Has been saved longer is because faith comes by hearing. And until you hear what God is saying to you, you don't have faith to launch ahead into what he says. And I know this, that whenever I would hear something from God about what to do, there was always opposition there to oppose that doing. And when I would hear and then the devil would oppose that which I heard from God was my ready answer for the devil. I have to know what to say to him when I'm opposed. And when God. When I hear God say something to me, now I have my answer to the enemy. That's why I have to hear. Others can confirm it. But I never turn my hearing to another person's walk with God. Never. It's dangerous because I have to have faith to move ahead. And faith comes by me hearing. So what's that mean? Don't have more confidence in your ability to walk with God and hear from God. Don't have more confidence in someone else's ability than your own ability to hear. Amen. I love something. I was listening to Leanne talking on some sermon on. I was watching on YouTube and she made this statement. We are spirit beings. We have a right to the spirit realm. It's our inheritance. Part of our inheritance is God's realm because we're made in his image.
D
Amen.
A
The feature that's most like God is our spirit. And so we have a right to the realm of hearing. It is a realm. And so I would tell people in pastoring if you will take time to pray in the spirit The Holy Spirit will never leave you without needing or you hearing what you need to know. Whenever I was before, many of you know my testimony, before I met and married my husband, I was engaged and it was the wrong relationship. And I won't tell all that was involved with that. But I. When it dawned on my spirit, I got revelation. This is the wrong relationship. I had to act on the only part I knew, which was, this is the wrong one. So I got out of it. I didn't know where the next path for my life was. I just knew I had to get back on neutral ground. I had to get out of disobedience. The wrong relationship was disobedience to the plan. I wasn't trying to blatantly say, I'm trying to disobey God, but there's a plan. And when I recognized this isn't the plan, and I got. I had to get out of that place of disobedience before I could hear the next thing that he had for me. This is where many miss it. They don't want to leave the comfort of what they know, even if it's wrong, until they hear where to go next. You have to get back on neutral territory. What's neutral territory? Out of the place you know you shouldn't be. Sometimes it's out of the job you shouldn't be. Sometimes it's out of the relationship you shouldn't be. Sometimes it's out of the city you shouldn't be in. When you know something is not God. Get out of that as quick as you can, even though you don't know where the right place may be. Because I found this out. Until we act on what we do know, we're not positioned to hear what we don't know. So I had to get out of that relationship. That meant my job was over. That meant it was every friend I had was connected to that I had to walk off of, away from that place alone. And I just. I didn't know the next step. But I just said this as a baby Christian. I didn't know Romans 8:26 existed that he gives us utterance, basically in line with the plan of God. When we don't know what we're praying, we're always praying in line with the plan of God when we speak in other tongues, always. And so I just said this. I said, I don't know what else to do, but I trust the Holy Ghost knows. And I locked myself up for three weeks. I pray I would take an hour and worship God. I'd Take an hour and feed on the Word and then hours a day. I would take time and pray in the Spirit. By the end of a few days, I would be so far in the Spirit I couldn't get back into English. Couldn't get back. And at the end of three weeks, I went to a meeting and met a man by the name of Ed Dufresne. And within three weeks, I was out of the will. See, I was completely out of the will of God prior to those three weeks. Then praying three weeks in other tongues, I met a man by the name of Ed Dufresne. Five weeks later, I married in the plan of God, in the ministry, in what I'm called for. All because the complicated became uncomplicated in the Spirit, and my life was completely on course. I pastored as a result of those three weeks. I'm where I'm at today as a result of those three weeks. If I had not have done those three weeks, everything else of the plan would have been sabotage. And I would tell the congregation members, if you're facing something difficult, it's so easy to receive the help you need. If you will just employ the Holy Spirit, the helper. And I would tell them, if you'll take time, do what I did. You might not can take the hours a day to pray in other tongues, but you can take time. Yeah. However much. And don't turn it into a law. But it does need to be a goal. And if I could get those to do that, take that counsel, everything would turn. That was the key, though. Get them to do it. So thank God for the Holy Ghost, because He is our escort into further places in God and He longs for us to go to further places, but we can't go without Him. Amen. We would never choose to go without him because that realm is safe to us with Him. Amen. So there's a remedy for I don't care if it's a marriage problem. I don't care if it's a financial problem. I don't care if it's a problem with your children. I don't care if it's the biggest problem with your church and you're on the verge of losing a building. I don't care if you'll take time to pray in the Holy Ghost. You will move into the mind of God. He will show you things to come. And if we'll take time to pray more in the Spirit, we will see more in the Spirit. Right. And so anyway, it's our divine privilege to do That I said, it is our divine privilege to do that. Praise the Lord. I was sitting there In Galatians, chapter 3, verse 13 kept coming up. We are redeemed from the curse. Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law. Being made a curse for us that the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through faith and receive the promise of the Spirit. Right?
D
Yeah, right, Right.
A
Redeemed from the curse of the law. Not knowing your future is a curse. Not knowing because he will show us things to come that's part of our inheritance. And when we don't know what he is seeking to show, we're not operating under the blessing. We're operating under the curse of blindness. Blind to the future, blind to the plan of God. And I've never said that before in my life. But it's the Holy Ghost that we are under the blessing of knowing. Now, that doesn't mean we know everything about every situation at this moment, but we know how to move into the seeing of the one who does know. Because faith is going, not knowing. But we know this. He knows. So there's no risk in us going and not knowing. Because we know we will see what we need to see, hear what we need to hear. And I know that if I will go not knowing, I will always arrive at the right place. I will arrive at seeing what I need to see, hearing what I need to hear, so I don't get troubled if I didn't hear it at this moment or see it at this moment. Because hearing and seeing is my inheritance. It's part of the blessing. Know this. We're not redeemed from the Old Testament. We're redeemed from the curse of the law. There's blessings of the law. I'm not. I don't need to be redeemed from the blessings of the Old Testament, just from the curse of it. So I still had the blessings. Everything they had, we had. But more. But more. Amen. Under the old covenant, they did not even know. Talking about Job, why did he not know he would accuse God of things that the devil did? Why? Because it had not been revealed about the devil. Why they didn't have the authority to deal with him. And that's why you can read things and it's stated from in these things that God is behind certain things. And God did because they did not have the revelation. But under the new covenant, we are under the blessing of knowing, the blessing of seeing, the blessing of hearing what they did not have revealed yet. It's the blessing. We're redeemed from the curse of not knowing. Amen. Praise the Lord. I said praise the Lord. Now don't ever buy into or fall into. I'm under a curse. I'm under a generational curse. That generational curse is spoken of, of Old Testament. It's not the blessing of the Lord. And you do need to be redeemed from that. And we are redeemed from that. I'm not under a curse. I can't tell you as a pastor how many times people think they're and they talk about it. I'm under a generational curse. My granddaddy died of this. My daddy died of it. Four uncles died of it. Two ants are dying of it. That's not me. It's not me. Why? Because I'm under the blessing. I'm redeemed from the curse. I'm redeemed from the curse. Anything that doesn't bless my life, I'm redeemed from it. I don't even have to know the totality and be able to listen. And we should learn. Go back to Deuteronomy and read the list because it will help you put your faith feet on something. But I'm just saying, anything that doesn't bless you, you're redeemed for it. I'm redeemed. Very good. Thank you.
D
Praise God.
A
Now Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law. So why do so many Christians still suffer with the same thing that the unsaved suffer with? That's right. If we're. Since we're redeemed, why? The unsaved suffer sickness, disease, lack, heartache, heartbreak. For one reason. They're still under the curse.
D
They're still under the curse. Yeah, they are.
A
Yeah. Very good. Then why do Christians still have unsaved neighbor? Physical problems, financial problems, marital problems. Then the Christians living next door. Physical problems, financial, marital problems, why do they have it? Different reasons. Different reasons.
B
Very good.
A
Different reasons. The unsaved have those problems because they're under the curse, but we're not. Then why do Christians struggle with the same thing the unsaved are struggling with? Because of Ephesians 4:27. What Paul said. Neither give place to the devil. They've given place to the devil. They've given place. They've given place. The devil can't take a place. They gave a place. The devil cannot take a place in your life. We have to give him a place. But if we gave it to him, we can take it back because it's our Place. It's our place. Place. Amen. So we don't have to keep having the same thing we used to. We take back the place. And I don't care how long the devil has been occupying a place we gave him, it's still not his place. That place is still under our command. We're still custodians of that place. And we can kick him out of that place that we let him squat in too long. California squatter rights are messed up, but not divine rights. Amen. And there's a cause. There's a cause. Remember what we were talking about last night? Jesus appeared to dad Hagin and said, said, it is my will that none of my children ever. What? Be sick. Number two, Be operated on. Number three, have accidents. That's his will. Now if those happen, there's a cause. We've got to deal with that cause. You can lay hands on people and God will move by his power and bless them as far as he can. But if they don't deal with that cause, when they call out of the building, the door is still open to that cause to come back and start taking its place. Now, my husband. Well, let me finish out this, because we touched on it again last night. Jesus said the cause, why his children are not. He said, very few live in my best. Very few. How about we change that to very many instead of very few? Very few. And because what was the causes that he listed? Number one, Anybody remember? They don't. Most don't know what belongs to them. Christ. Number two, they don't have faith strong enough to receive it, even if they do know what belongs to them. Number three, disobedience. So what are those causes? You have to deal with the cause. Pastors, if you're dealing with people in your church, you're going to have to deal with causes. That's right.
D
That's exactly.
A
If you're going to help them long term. Now, my husband was in his late mid to late 50s, maybe mid-50s, and he went to the doctor one day and the doctor said, you have cancer. Basically they were saying, two years, no cure. So Ed goes home and we had driven there separately. So I got to the house about 10 minutes after he did. And as soon as I walked in, he says, I've already. He says, I've already dealt with it. He says, because I came home and I said, God, you don't miss it? I've missed it. Now, I'm going to tell you something. If you're going to go through all the carnal, mental Gymnastics of self accusation and not face these things on the ground of righteousness, you're just going to beat yourself up. But my husband dealt with God from a place of righteousness. God, I missed it. He didn't just go through all this mental, oh, self accusation. Listen, don't join the accuser in his work. He is the accuser of the brethren. If you start accusing yourself with all your faults, failures and weaknesses, you'll take yourself out of the place of hearing. Because righteousness, it's when we stand in our righteousness, that hearing is the clearest.
D
That's right.
A
Very good. My husband just went in and he didn't go. You know, we all have. Dr. Stonewall, you say this, Remember this, every man has feet of clay. What's he saying? No one's perfect in the natural. In the flesh. My husband could have just gone through and just said, oh, yeah, I've done this wrong. You know, he could have, but he just walked in and he said to God, he says, I've missed it somewhere. You don't miss it, I've missed it. Where did I miss it? Just plain and easy, simple. And God said to him, number one, you don't rest. He says, I've dealt with you for years about resting. You'd do it a little while, then you'd go back to your bad habits. So, ministers, God did not give you divine strength so you can violate the body. And you're not the savior of the world. So rest. For me. You do it the way you want to do it. I plan rest like I plan preaching days. It goes on my calendar. Why? Because if you don't plan it, the demands won't hand rest to you. And as dad Hagin taught us, he said, it's very difficult to yield to the spirit when you're tired. You'll start missing things. You'll start missing very critical things, all out of tiredness. So he said, number one, he said, you don't rest your body. I've dealt with you for years about that. There was certain ministers. Now you say, I've heard this story before. Well, you're here and the Holy Ghost knew you would be here. And so there was a certain minister's wife that she was very administrative. She ran everything of the ministry and she came down with cancer. God healed her supernaturally. Two years later, we get a phone call. All that's come back on her. They asked Ed to pray. And God spoke to Ed and said, don't even pray, she's going to die. And so Ed said, why is she going to die? He said, because I healed her once and she went back to her old habits of not resting and said now she's in this condition. See you got to close the door you open. You got to close the door you open. You got to close the door you opened. So God said to Ed, rest. So know this. When God heals you from something, it's not so you can continue doing what you did that got you in that place. He's giving you grace and space to make change. He's not permitting you to keep doing what arrived you in that condition to begin with. By healing you, he's giving you space to make correction. So the second thing God said to my husband is he said, you haven't obeyed me. In the prophets office I'd tell you to say certain things and you wouldn't. Just for example, I'll tell you what God pointed out to him. He said, I told you to deal with that phone card mess that was going through the church. People gonna pay off their buildings. And it was just a pyramid scheme. Certain people were getting money and others weren't. That's not what the body of Christ has gathered for. For us to sell a deal, sell something off of each other. Pastors learn to not let. No, the anointing is a people gatherer. And the anointing is not gathering the people so some businessman can come in and sell them something. You start letting that mess go on in your church and you will grieve the spirit of God and you'll lose the anointing in your church over it. Don't ever let that stuff, we have it in our membership. We told me you're not allowed to sell pyramid scheme stuff. You're not allowed to promote your business. Now it's fine. For if people come to you and say you're a carpenter, I need help, that's fine. But that's not why people come to church. So they can get cornered for a sales job not doing that. And so God told Ed, I'd tell you to deal with that stuff and see damage was done to the body of Christ. There were all kinds of things, layers of it that went all through the body. And Ed, God told Ed, I told you to say something about it and you wouldn't. So see the body received, the body had issues because things weren't said that should have been said. So Ed said okay, I repent. And God said, okay, within 30 days it'll all be gone. So we went back on day 28 and the doctor said, someone up there likes you because it was all gone. This is what I wanted you to see. Ed could not just throw healing scriptures at that.
D
That's right.
A
No, Neither give place to the devil. He had to find. Where did I open the door? And I've got to get that door closed. Now, don't misunderstand me. Healing scriptures will bring relief and help, but I'm talking about lasting. You've got to get the door closed. It's almost like this. If you open the door and it's cold outside and you go, wow, it's cold. I mean, it's 55 degrees in my house, which some people would delight, right? But you say, I'll crank the heat up. You can crank the heat up and it will help. But you're going to be. You're using bought air to try to change free air outside. You can't. It won't. The effects of it. It's not working right. And you can ruin your unit trying to overwork it. Right? It's the same thing. You just start throwing confessions. It there will be a measure of help, but it won't be the right help until correction is made. Shut the door.
D
Shut the door.
A
Now, we're going this way because you need it. Come on. That's what I'm saying. You can't just throw the word at an open door to the devil and think that you're going to partake of the highest flow. You'll have a measure of help that will show up. But as long as the door is open to the devil, he'll keep working and robbing and stealing and. Years ago, my husband and I were attending a service of a certain minister. We were in the back room and this minister was talking about their physical condition. They had faced a particular physical condition that was quite difficult for them. And they talked about it at length in the back room before they went to preach. And so they got up, they preached that service, and Ed would at times narrate.

Host/Speaker: Pastor Nancy Dufresne
In this episode, Pastor Nancy Dufresne leads an evening session focusing on the vital subject of hearing the Holy Spirit—exploring how believers can access divine help, guidance, and the blessings of God through a life of prayer in the Spirit, especially praying in tongues. Drawing from personal testimonies, scriptural insight, and years of pastoral experience, Nancy unpacks the principles of spiritual hearing, the responsibility believers have in cultivating it, and the freedom found in living out God's revealed plan.
