Foreign. Welcome to the earn the right to live your dreams podcast. This is Coy Cooper. Hey, everybody. Welcome back to the earn the right to live your dreams podcast. This is Coy Cooper, and today we're going to do what I call a make your mark message. This is going to be something where we come to you on a Sunday, Monday and deliver a message that helps you be more efficient, that helps you get ready for your week to where you can perform at a high level and close the gap on your goals and aspirations. Here's why I think this is so important, and this will set the tone for this entire kind of series that we're going to be doing, is that we often waste a large chunk of our week. In fact, research has shown that many people will waste up to 50% of their days just because of a lack of focus. And a lot of the time, this happens right out of the gates on Sunday, on Monday, and it's something you have to do something about. So the title of today's is setting the pace for your week. And maybe what we should have called it is getting your mind right, setting the tempo to have a remarkable week where you're an elite performer, where you're constantly using all parts of your day to go out and to live at a high level and just do amazing things. You know, if you've been listening to this podcast, that this is what it's all about. And if you haven't listened to the past episodes, go back and listen to them. It will help you just to do that, to just perform at a high level. So, you know, we've. We've already talked about how much time is wasted, and here's the way that most people operate. And this is because of, you know, emotions, bad habits. We, We've traditionally been told that, oh, yeah, Mondays are terrible. You know, you get to Sunday and you feel depressed because it's Monday. You don't want to go back to work, and then inevitably you go in and your day goes accordingly. And then for most people now, it's even crazy. Like they're bummed about Tuesday because there's so many days towards the weekend. Wednesday might get a little bit better, Thursday as well. And then Friday, they're super excited because of the weekend. And. And then the cycle repeats. You know, Saturday's pretty good. And then Sunday depressed again. And we waste so many days on that. So what are the days that are impacted most? The bookends? Mondays and Fridays. Monday because you're depressed after the weekend. Friday because you're excited for the weekend, and you can't focus. So what we want to start with is Monday. You don't want to be depressed. You really don't want to feel that way. I can't think of anybody who really wants to feel like crap, not on purpose. And so one of the things that you have to do is you have to shift your mindset. You have to learn to look at it a different way. If you can't, here's the cost. The cost is, is that you can't possibly perform to your full potential if you're wasting huge chunks of time. You can't get that promotion at work. You can't, as an individual, if you're an entrepreneur, really get out and do amazing things. You just can't. You're wasting days. In fact, if we took a look at this and said just two hours over the course of, you know, your five days in a week, that equals 480 hours, that's 12 work weeks. I mean, you can do the math. And just wasting Mondays is going to be, you know, over two weeks. So you can't do that. And I would even tell you this, even negative thoughts outside of the workplace, starting on Sunday, those are all minutes that you could be using to focus on the right things. So that's what we want to do today, is just talk to you about how to flip the script. And I told you, this is going to be short. We're going to get right at it. We're going to jump out of this. And I hope this will get you excited for your week. I hope you want to use it up every single week, you know, because that's what you're put on this earth to do. So what we want to talk about now, how do you flip the script? How do you get to where you don't dread your Mondays? Instead, you get into it, you get excited, you get and you go out and you start to just be efficient as heck. And there are people that do this. Pay attention. You'll see it. You'll see the people that are passionate and that are transitioning and that are focused on the right things, because you'll see them, they do not waste days. They use every single day, and they're excited about it. And if you're looking at this and you're going, I want to do that. That's exactly who I want to be. You know, I want to be the one at work where people turn to me and they want me to be an individual, to take control of things. I want to be in a leadership position or if I'm on my team, I want to be a leader. And if you do, the first thing you have to do is you have to take the time to transition. If you end up feeling anxiety on Sundays, and I've had it before, I felt the same way. If you have that, you have to train your mind to see things differently. And so taking the time to transition, one amazing thing that you can do is to write a journal. You know, write in a journal every day, but when you get to Saturday and Sunday, start to write about things that you're excited about coming up. You know, I'm excited for Monday because I can get in and I can be really efficient and that will make me make a positive impression on my boss and my colleagues and workers. Whatever it is for you, you can do the same things with holidays, when families are there and you're on the back end. Write in a journal to transition out to where you don't feel that letdown. But here are some ways that you should be doing okay, when you come to Saturday, maybe you're still excited. You get to Sunday, you start to feel that the first thing you have to do is you have to be aware of those feelings. Okay? If those feelings start to come and you start to feel anxiety for the things that are coming, understand that you have chosen to focus on things that make you feel that way. Your body doesn't just go, do that. What's happening is in your mind. You're going, oh, I don't look forward to that meeting. I don't want to get up at 6am and when you start to think those thoughts, then what's going to happen is your body is going to follow accordingly. So the moment you acknowledge those thoughts, the very first thing you have to do, acknowledge it and then switch it out, flip to something else. And this might take some practice, but the moment it comes to that, instead, go, okay, no, no, no, I don't want that. Okay, what I'm going to do instead, what's something I'm excited about? Focus on something you're excited about within your job, within your day, within your week, focus on that. It may help you to make a list of those things. So every time you feel that, swap it out. And what happens is once you do it enough, it becomes habit. Once it becomes habit, you can eliminate. You can completely eliminate those feelings. You don't have to feel that. In fact, what you can do is, you know, another thing you can do is you start to feel that go, okay, you know, some of These things I might be not, you know, looking forward to. Train your mind to look forward to those things. Train your mind to want to go in and to step into those things because it will allow you to grow. So that's the biggest thing. Swapping your thoughts out. And then I want to tell you one more thing. Okay, so we've talked about taking time to transition, being intentional about that, writing in a journal, or at least kind of just talking yourself through it. Number two, swapping your thoughts out anytime that you have them. And number three is this. You have to develop a must differentiate mindset, meaning you have to want to be different in how you approach your days. You have to be passionate about not settling for the status quo. And if that's a mentality that you have, you will look at Mondays and go, I'm excited for Monday because I know everybody else, most everybody else is going to be dreading it. I'm going to take advantage of that day. I'm going to differentiate as a human being. I am going to go in with a great attitude today and I am going to flat out get stuff done and I'm going to do it every single day. And when you have that mindset where you're passionate about being unique as a human being that way, then you will differentiate. You will have the type of mindset that will allow you to close the gap. But I'll tell you this, you cannot afford to waste entire days if you want to be a remarkable human being who is going out and earning the right to live your dreams. So right now, today, readjust your focus and get out and flat out make things happen in your week. You will love it. When you come to Friday, you'll not only be excited about the weekend, you'll say, man, I used up all my days. I earned it. And now I deserve the right to enjoy my time with my family or friends. And when Sunday comes, I'm going to flat out get it right. And, man, you're going to have the best, best month, best year of your entire life. So go out, get it done, have an awesome week, and we'll be back at you again soon. Take care. Hey, everybody. I hope you love this episode.
