Welcome to EKA 136.5! A minisode where we examine the ties between the world shutting down and the recent resurgence in emo and emo adjacent music. After interviewing 80+ bands on this show, an overwhelming amount of them formed during covid. Some people baked sourdough some people made bands, I guess. From nostalgia acts to the litany of great young bands popping up over the past few years, it really does feel like 2020 was a bit of a calatyst. Don't get us wrong, still a net negative for the entire planet, but if there was one benefit to the pandemic it may have been the boost in creativity due to the free time?
