Hey, I'm Ryan Reynolds. Recently, I asked Mint Mobile's legal team.
Ty
If big wireless companies are allowed to.
Ryan Reynolds
Raise prices due to inflation.
Ava
They said yes. And then when I asked if raising.
Ryan Reynolds
Prices technically violates those onerous two year contracts, they said. What the are you talking about?
Ty
You insane?
Ava
Hollywood.
Ryan Reynolds
So, to recap, we're cutting the price.
Ty
Of mint unlimited from $30 a month.
Ava
To just $15 a month.
Ryan Reynolds
Give it a try@mintmobile.com switch.
Chris
$45 upfront payment equivalent to $15 per month. New customers on first three month plan only. Taxes and fees, extra Speed slower above 40 gigabytes. E details.
Ty
She's still alive. Yeah, but barely. Let me put her over Misery. Could she pull through? I don't fucking know. Let's tell Hayden. Hayden told us to clear the bodies. Yeah, yeah, but he thought they were all dead.
Ryan Reynolds
She basically is.
Ty
No, no, no. This one, she's. Well, look at her. Her eyes are moving, her mouth is twitching. Stay here.
Kylie
I'll be right back.
Ty
And don't do anything. Like what? Like anything. Fine. Aiden.
Ryan Reynolds
Yeah?
Ty
One of the visitors. She's still alive.
Ryan Reynolds
How alive?
Ty
What?
Ryan Reynolds
How alive?
Ty
I mean, it looks like she could pull through.
Ryan Reynolds
You really believe that?
Ty
Yeah. She wasn't hid in any vital spot. I saw.
Ryan Reynolds
All right. Grant. Yeah? You got anyone here who can operate on her? No. Well, I mean, maybe, but you. You. You killed. Watch it. Sorry. But Emmy, our nurse, is dead. Okay, so there's no one else. Maybe Keaton? No, not Keaton. I know Keaton. He's in Time out. Grant. Anyone else? Anyone we didn't kill? Naomi. Naomi? That the tall pretty one with dark skin?
Kylie
Yeah.
Ryan Reynolds
Okay. You hear that, Tai? The pretty one with the dark skin. Go to the cages. Untie her. See what she can do.
Ty
Okay.
Ryan Reynolds
Oh, and Ty.
Ty
Yeah?
Ryan Reynolds
Make sure she tries her hardest to fix this visitor.
Ty
You want her to pull through?
Ryan Reynolds
We do. This could be a gift. If what Grant and the others here say is true, there are a lot of people heading our way. Having a bargaining chip may actually help. Especially since Willard let that other one escape.
Ty
Right. Hey, Hayden.
Ryan Reynolds
Yeah?
Ty
Where is Willer?
Ryan Reynolds
Just worry about Naomi for now, Ty, all right?
Ty
Yeah. All right.
Ryan Reynolds
Seven Lamb Productions presents End of All Hope Season 6 Episode 1 An Illusion Son Where's Travis and Dana?
Ty
Dana's by the truck with Hudson. I'm not sure where Travis is.
Chris
He's probably with them.
Ty
What the hell happened to you, Terrell?
Chris
Holy.
Rita
Are you bleeding?
Ty
Were you shot?
Ryan Reynolds
We were attacked. They have the base. Everyone else is dead.
Kylie
Oh, no.
Ty
Go. Hurry. Tell The.
Rita
Hey, Ava, look what I got for you.
Ava
Isn't the dinner rush over?
Rita
Yeah, it was. But you can thank the builders for their lateness. Where do you want them?
Ava
Just put them there, then.
Rita
You got it.
Ava
She set the large stack of dirty dishes next to the other two stacks on the counter if you want to switch. No, no, I'm fine. We only have another 10 minutes.
Chris
We?
Rita
Oh, that's right. I keep forgetting you moved over to the golden schedule.
Ava
Really? This is the golden schedule?
Rita
Yeah, I told you I had to reapply and reapply to get it, but here you come sauntering in and bam. They just serve it to you on a dirty silver platter.
Ava
Rita, the tall, thicker 30 year old who always wore her hair in a ponytail and dressed like she was going out on a date, earrings, jewelry, light makeup. Playfully pushed a greasy silver tray towards me. I took it from her and dunked it into the soapy water. I'm only doing a few more.
Rita
Hey, I got no problem with that. I am not going back out there.
Ava
She walked over to her bag and started putting her rings back on. Not worried Hannah will come looking for you.
Rita
She's cleaning up vomit off the front floor.
Ava
Vomit?
Rita
Yeah, one of the new guys had a stomach thing or something. Still tried to force something down his throat to take advantage of that free meal thing they're doing today.
Ava
Smart. Yeah.
Rita
So now that meal is wasted and dude was taken to the clinic. I am so done with this day.
Ava
I washed one more plate and set it to dry. There were still three more stacks, but I was done for the day. Okay.
Rita
Yeah.
Ava
Yeah.
Rita
Perfect timing. Rico and Harry just walked in.
Ava
She was leaning over the center table, looking through the kitchen doorway. Good. I grabbed the dirty dish towel and dried my hands.
Rita
Hey, don't. Don't leave yet. I'll tell Hannah we're out, but walk with me. All right?
Ava
Sure. Yeah.
Rita
Wait, is your knee or ankle or whatever still messed up?
Ava
No, I told you. Last two days have been better.
Rita
All right, good, good. I'll be right back. Hey, boys. Welcome to paradise.
Ava
She jokingly waved to our replacements as I grabbed my things.
Rita
So I gotta know, how you liking it, girl?
Ava
You asked this before.
Rita
Yeah, but you never gave an answer.
Ava
Oh, well, it's. It's fine.
Rita
Just fine.
Ava
I know she wanted more, but I just shrugged. We were walking along Bay Flat Road, our first full shift together after getting the golden schedule. We took the bus. But two days ago, we decided to walk. And it seemed that that might be the preferred way. Now it was A nice walk to and from work. Not too far.
Rita
Hey. Why? Just fine.
Ava
Rita puffed on her cigarette, then playfully bumped me with her elbow. I don't know. Maybe I just need more time.
Rita
Come on, girl. You've been here like, what, three weeks now? You got a decent job, a good schedule. You get to work with me.
Ava
Of course.
Rita
And you said room and board. Set you up all cushy.
Ava
As cushy as can be. Yeah.
Rita
Listen, you're with your friends, right? That's beautiful. R and B only formed like, two months ago, and they can be a little weird. Whatever. But getting what you want, what you need, write out the gift gate. I mean, girl, it does not get much better than that.
Ava
Yeah.
Rita
I told you about me and my sister living with that pervert, right?
Ava
You did.
Rita
Took nearly two weeks to get out of that. Me and my sister had to keep watch when we changed. And I know that hole in our bedroom wall was not chewed out by any damn rat, no matter how much dude protested. So gross.
Ava
I know. I get it. I'm grateful. I am. I know things are better. Hell, even my ankle now, things are good. But.
Rita
What?
Ava
I. I. Rita put her arm on my shoulder and stopped me.
Rita
I get it, Ava. I have a missing part, too. Right here.
Ava
She tapped her chest right over her heart.
Rita
Everybody here does. Everyone in Bodega Bay has lost someone. And it is not easy. And maybe I'm dumb for saying this since I've been in Bodega and even since the invasion started, but you have to push that shit aside. Like, not forget it, not forget them. You can never do that, obviously. But you can decide to keep living. And that's all we can really do here.
Ava
I know. I know that.
Rita
And I mean, think about it. This is all relatively new. I mean, there was chaos here. It was scary. And it was not that long ago me and my sister were forced to eat canned tuna under floorboards for weeks, just hiding and waiting for things to get better. It took a whole month till things got under control. Now look. Look around you. No ships, no alien plants. No aliens. No panic. And working vehicles. We have cars, Ava. You see them? You see that? Did you see the car?
Ava
I saw the car.
Rita
From what I hear, it's like the walking dead out there. Yet we're over here, working in a cafe, sneaking food, heading home to our somewhat comfy beds. I. I don't think it can get much better in an apocalypse.
Ava
Rita. I'm really starting to love our walks.
Rita
Hey, I told you. This is a thing. Now. Once you do Something. Three times. It's a habit.
Ava
This woman, who I only met a couple weeks ago, was quickly becoming a friend. And I liked it. I smiled as she took my hand.
Rita
Let's go, girl. My sister will be pissed if I'm late today.
Ava
Why is that?
Rita
Oh, we're tending to our garden today. She makes a whole thing about it.
Ava
You still have to invite me over to see it.
Rita
And I told you I will. But I gotta give my sister a little more time. Like, ever since pervert dude, she's still a little wary about new people, even women.
Ava
Okay.
Kylie
Here you go.
Chris
Hot dogs? Seriously? Since when?
Kylie
I shrugged and slid one over to Kylie. I don't know, but I'm not gonna complain. I haven't had a hot dog in forever.
Chris
You're not curious where the meat comes from?
Kylie
I'm pretty sure this is Nathan's bullshit. You heard Ray. There's a whole stockpile of frozen meat. And I don't remember you having any problem with the dried stuff.
Chris
I know where the dried stuff comes from.
Kylie
No, you don't.
Chris
Yeah, I do. I saw them making it. It comes from the farms.
Kylie
Maybe this does, too.
Chris
Yeah, maybe.
Kylie
If you don't want to eat yours, I will.
Chris
Is there mustard?
Kylie
I pulled two packets out of my pocket. Only one each. But I have ketchup, too.
Chris
No, no ketchup. That's all yours.
Kylie
Oh, okay. So, what, now I gotta give you my mustard?
Chris
I didn't say that.
Kylie
You give me two ketchups. It's only fair, right?
Chris
Hey, if you feel guilty having two ketchups and a mustard. Well, I only get one small mustard packet. That's on you.
Kylie
Here.
Chris
Thank you.
Kylie
I traded her packets and then flattened the wrapper. I don't know how you're not impressed. I mean, this is great. I held the hot dog up, admiring the beauty.
Chris
I'm eating it, aren't I?
Kylie
Not yet you aren't. She was still applying mustard, but I didn't wait for her. I took a big bite. Oh, yeah, that's good. I'm 90% sure it's a Nathan. She rolled her eyes and took a bite. Mmm. Good, right?
Chris
Yeah, it's good. You think the buns are frozen, too?
Kylie
I really don't care.
Ty
Whoa, whoa, whoa. What's this? You're both on break.
Kylie
I switched with Donner.
Ty
Come on, man, you gotta run that by me.
Kylie
He took the same post. I wiped my mouth with the back of my hand and leaned back so raised head could help block the sun.
Ty
Well, still, I need to know ins and outs.
Kylie
Okay. Sorry. I didn't think it was an issue.
Ty
I mean, I get you guys want a break together, but.
Kylie
But it breaks protocol.
Ty
Oh, hey, and you're gonna have to get used to it, too.
Chris
Used to what?
Ty
Well, being split.
Chris
Spencer told us that wouldn't happen.
Ty
Spencer's on harbor patrol? He doesn't know, I guess.
Kylie
But he did mention that you can put in.
Ty
Yes, yes, I know, the buddy system. But things change that fast.
Kylie
What are you saying, Ray?
Ty
I'm saying that they're starting the fence on the north side of the bay and south on the golf course. They're pulling guards, and the list is up at check in.
Kylie
Something tells me you already looked it over.
Ty
Donner and Smith and myself are staying here. You and Caulder are going north. Kylie here is being stationed south.
Chris
Wait, can Caulder and I switch?
Ty
I'm not going through it all. You want to switch, ask Calder. You also have to run it by management. You can't pull the same you pull here.
Kylie
He shook his head and walked off. Kylie set down our half eaten hot dog.
Chris
Well, that sucks.
Kylie
Might not be that big of a deal. We'll talk to Calder.
Chris
You think he'll switch?
Kylie
Who wouldn't want to work on a golf course?
Chris
Well, turns out it doesn't matter if you want to work on a golf course or not. Management's the one with final say.
Kylie
We got off at the bus stop at Bayflat Road. After post, we went to not only Calder's home, but the management office. Calder said he was afraid to go against the listing, would only switch with us if management allowed it. Turns out they wouldn't. No reason given, other than you're assigned where you're assigned. It's. There's no reason for it.
Chris
Think it's a sex thing?
Kylie
Oh, I. I didn't even think of that. Possibly.
Chris
They would never say.
Kylie
Though I'm pretty sure everyone in that office is clueless. Kylie shrugged as we went down the small, cracked road. It was a nice breeze today.
Chris
I knew this place wasn't as easy going as they initially let on.
Kylie
Initially let on? It made us register the moment we touched land. It was that or get the hell out, right?
Chris
But after that, when we were looking through job listings, they had their whole buddy system. It was all about making people's lives here pleasant. They let us room together. And when Ava comes, they let her move in, too. Didn't seem so bad.
Kylie
Then, weeks later, we find out about protocols, rent, and reassignments.
Chris
Now I'm getting a little worried what else are we going to find out about?
Kylie
Well, there is one other thing I learned today.
Ava
What's that?
Kylie
Remember when Ray was talking about the campground Bodega Dunes? Yeah. Did you hear what he said?
Chris
I don't remember.
Kylie
Past the campgrounds is wide open. There's no fence guarding the north side. That's why they want to move builders up there.
Chris
Big, manly builders.
Kylie
I guess.
Chris
But I thought there was a fence.
Kylie
Me, too, but it's like the golf course. They're still expanding. I think they keep certain things a secret so people don't flip out. But this city's totally exposed.
Chris
How'd they manage this long?
Kylie
I don't know. But I've also heard some rumors recently about supplies.
Chris
Like what?
Kylie
I. I guess they haven't been expanding their supply runner ban like they originally planned to. Instead, they've been sending a small, select group to make special trips to Santa Rosa.
Chris
No way.
Kylie
Seriously?
Chris
They can't go that far.
Kylie
Why not?
Chris
Because none of the supply runners are gone for that long.
Kylie
How do you know Donner? Donner doesn't know much.
Chris
Sure, but he started as a supply runner two months back.
Kylie
Okay, well, there you go. Why are they cutting down? If anything, they should be assigning more people keep arriving. They're expanding. And yet only send a small group out once a week. Kylie shrugged.
Chris
Honestly, I couldn't care less. As long as we work and make our money, I'm fine.
Kylie
Are you liking this place more than White Ranch, too?
Chris
Hard to tell right now. Like I said, it seemed like they were going to be more laid back, but I'm not so sure now.
Kylie
At least we all live together. And an RV beats a tent and sleeping bag, right? Although.
Ava
What?
Kylie
The way Jay's been talking.
Chris
I know.
Kylie
We turned off the road and walked down a steep incline. It was a faster route than following the road the rest of the way. Think you'll move?
Chris
The more Jay talks to his brother, the more his brother convinces him.
Kylie
How do you feel about it?
Chris
Jay and I have only been together a few weeks, you know.
Kylie
Still in the honeymoon phase.
Ava
Yeah.
Chris
And Jay usually moves slow. Real slow.
Kylie
Things are good between you guys, right?
Chris
Yeah. It's just. I don't know how I feel living with his family right off the bat. It's a complete 180. I mean, boundaries.
Kylie
Totally understand. Just tell him that.
Chris
I know. I will. When he brings it up again, we.
Kylie
Walk down the rest of the hill to East Shore Road.
Chris
How about you?
Kylie
What about me?
Chris
I see the way you look at her.
Kylie
Whoa, whoa, whoa. No No, I. I'm not looking for anything right now.
Chris
No?
Kylie
No. We walked across the road to the broken fence of the RV park.
Chris
I think she looks at you the same way.
Kylie
I think you're mistaken.
Chris
Come on.
Kylie
I've talked to her. She's nice.
Ryan Reynolds
But?
Kylie
But she's still holding out hope. And I have a feeling she will for a long time.
Chris
You serious?
Kylie
Yeah.
Chris
You don't think she'll get past it anytime soon?
Kylie
No.
Chris
That's too bad.
Kylie
I shrugged. We walked past several RVs. It always shocked me how alive this place was, but there were a lot of people here.
Chris
Okay, wait.
Kylie
Kylie spun around and stopped me about 20 yards from our home. What?
Chris
Just between us? Because I'm curious. You don't have any feelings for Ava?
Kylie
I think she's a really nice person, but I can honestly say I haven't thought about it at all. She hasn't been here that long, and, you know, everyone's busy doing their own thing. Her mouth twisted and her eyebrow arched. She didn't believe me, but that was fine. I'm being completely honest, okay? You believe me?
Chris
Not in the slightest.
Kylie
Come on.
Ty
And you're sure everyone else is dead?
Ryan Reynolds
I saw it. They all got shot. Every one of them. I tried to provide cover fire, but there were too many. I just. I couldn't.
Ty
And you never saw any evidence they were taking over?
Ryan Reynolds
We surveyed from the woods, checked out the exterior of the base the best we could. And they had people inside. People Mia and Annie recognized.
Ty
Okay. Okay. Relax. How's your shoulder?
Ryan Reynolds
It's fine. I'll be fine. But what are we gonna do?
Ty
I paced in front of him. We were near the vehicles in the middle of the convoy. I had everyone stop for the time being until we could tend to Terrell's injuries. He was shot twice. Both in the same shoulder. One bullet grazed him. The other went straight through Travis.
Ryan Reynolds
Word is already spreading.
Ty
I follow Dana's gaze to the crowd around us. Our convoy was relatively quiet. I could see people staring, whispering to each other, murmuring, shit.
Ryan Reynolds
You need to go tell Chris now.
Ty
No, you tell her.
Ryan Reynolds
You're going to put that on me?
Ty
She'll blame me.
Ryan Reynolds
She's gonna be too hurt to blame anyone right now. You told Hudson to call a Second in Command meeting. Well, that's Chris, too.
Ty
Fine, Dana. I get that. Well, she'll be here shortly. Then I'll do it. If you don't want to.
Ryan Reynolds
There's no way we breached that base. There's too many of them.
Ty
I can't believe there's more than this. I motioned to the large crowd around us.
Ryan Reynolds
These people aren't fighters, God damn it.
Ty
Well, what are we supposed to do? We can't go back. We can't give in. You said they just opened fire on you. That means they want to fight.
Ryan Reynolds
It wasn't a fight. It was a massacre. I got off three shots before the bullets rained down. They didn't give a shit. We should have went up there when they were first asking for help.
Ty
Are we so sure they're not in on it?
Ryan Reynolds
What?
Ty
Grant and company could be helping them.
Ryan Reynolds
You believe that? They're rangers.
Ty
How well do we know them?
Ryan Reynolds
This is all speculation. It doesn't help us right now. We can't wait here much longer.
Ty
You're right. We're reorganizing, and then we're. We're figuring out what we need to do. I walked back over to Terrell. He was inspecting his bandages. I kneeled in front of him. You don't think if we attacked with every one of our guards, we can win?
Ryan Reynolds
It's not that. We may be able to, but plan to lose half our people? Unless you have a trick up your sleeve.
Ty
I walked back over to Dana. I hesitated a moment. I don't know what to do.
Ryan Reynolds
You wanted to be in charge, Travis. You better think of something.
Kylie
I'm sorry. I know it's dumb.
Chris
It's not dumb. But I'm not sure I'm ready for something like that. It's all a little soon.
Kylie
I know.
Ava
I thought he would let it go.
Kylie
After a while, but apparently they're third.
Chris
On the rental list. What does that mean?
Ryan Reynolds
It means they'll be stuck with two.
Kylie
Others if we don't go.
Chris
Great. That's why we're in a time crunch.
Ryan Reynolds
Yeah.
Kylie
I had a hard time sleeping. Jay and Kylie were still up. They'd been talking all night. I didn't want to disrupt them either. I know they were having a hard time with this, but it was now three in the morning, and what happens if we.
Chris
You know what, Jay? We have to think about this realistically.
Rita
Why?
Chris
Why?
Ryan Reynolds
Yeah, why?
Chris
Because what happens to me if we don't work out? It just seems like this is moving too fast.
Kylie
But you said things between us were moving too slow.
Chris
Yes, some things are. But moving in with your family is not one of them.
Ryan Reynolds
I know, but what am I supposed to do?
Kylie
I understood both of their points, but there was no way in hell I would interject right now. This was their problem to solve. I just wish my bed wasn't so Close to the back bedroom. I leaned over to see Ava stirring too. She was awake and sitting up. She looked over and smiled a half smile. I returned it with a head nod. Just then she started putting on her shoes.
Chris
Oh, sorry guys.
Kylie
I sat up to see Kylie entering the kitchen. My bed was the dining table folded down. But it was my fault for offering Ava the fold out couch and Jay and Kylie the bedroom.
Chris
I hope we're not being too loud.
Ava
No, no. I can't sleep.
Chris
Oh.
Kylie
Ever since Ava moved in, she'd had trouble sleeping. You guys okay? Kylie?
Chris
Yeah.
Kylie
She turned around towards the room, knowing Jay could hear our every word. She grabbed a vitamin water, but before drinking, she looked to Ava, then me.
Chris
We can take it outside. Really?
Ava
No, don't worry about it. I'm gonna go for a walk.
Chris
Oh, okay.
Kylie
Kylie turned to me as if expecting my answer. Oh, no. Yeah, you guys are fine. I'm having trouble sleeping myself and not because of you guys.
Ava
Maybe it's contagious.
Kylie
Could be. Ava made her way to the door. Hey you. You want some company? I could see Kylie out of the corner of my eye. She snickered and turned away.
Ava
Oh, sure. That'd be nice. Okay, I'll wait for you outside.
Kylie
I hurriedly put my shoes on as she walked out.
Chris
Seriously? Nothing there?
Kylie
Nothing.
Chris
Okay.
Kylie
Okay. Ready? And the nightmares keep coming.
Ava
Yeah. It's frustrating because before Scott it was Mark, but before Mark it was Scott. I know you said it doesn't help to dwell on it, but it's hard to turn off my mind. Especially at night.
Kylie
Totally understandable.
Ava
And it feels like there's this tug of war game going on in my head. Go south, Go north. Go south. Go north.
Kylie
Wait, there's no option that has you staying here?
Ava
Well, when I think rationally about it, of course staying here is the best option. But at night, staring up at our crack seat ceiling, I can't help but to think irrationally.
Kylie
Do the walks help? This wasn't the first night Ava had gone for a walk. But it was the first time that I'd asked to join. Maybe it had to do with what Kylie said earlier.
Ava
They do. Although it's a little chilly tonight.
Kylie
Yeah, it is. I was wearing shorts and a tee. We were walking along Bay Flat Road once past the RV park. It was gorgeous. Good view of the bay. Especially with the moonlight tonight. So you mentioned north and south. South of San Diego.
Ava
But north is nothing. Absolutely nothing.
Kylie
Then why?
Ava
I don't know. I like it here. I mean, it's fine, but sometimes it feels like an illusion.
Kylie
An illusion?
Ava
A make believe life. I mean, I work in a diner. I serve food and wash dishes. I haven't worked in a restaurant business since I was 19. But that's not even the weird part. Alien creatures are still out there. The plants and everything. I walked through it. And people, sick people. I. I killed a man. Ambridge. I shot him. I had to do it, but I. The point is, all of that stuff hasn't all of a sudden gone away. But here we pretend it has.
Kylie
Maybe that's more of a viewpoint of the inside.
Ava
What do you mean?
Kylie
Kylie and I have guard duty. I get where you're coming from, but the threat is very much real. Even here.
Ava
No, I know that.
Kylie
It's funny you mentioned north, though.
Ava
Why?
Kylie
I know we've mentioned Mia before, but that was her goal. To just head north and live with her wife in some cabin away from it all, actually. Away?
Ava
You think it's ridiculous? Unattainable.
Kylie
No, I think it's possible. And I think if that's something you want, then by all means.
Ava
Grass is greener.
Kylie
Possibly. There's no telling how bad Montana or Idaho or Washington or hell, even Canada was hit, so I'm holding judgment.
Ava
But you think what we have here is good?
Kylie
I think it's, as you put it, fine.
Ava
Right.
Kylie
We walked a good 20 minutes in silence. I wasn't sure if I should say anything, but I felt compelled to. So did anything I say help?
Ava
When? Now or when I first arrived?
Kylie
Anytime.
Ava
It has. And I know I can get past a lot of my feelings. I just need more time.
Kylie
Time helps. As we came around the bend, we noticed two buses blocking the road.
Ava
Is that some kind of checkpoint?
Kylie
I don't know. You ever come this way at night?
Ava
First time? Usually I go down East Shore.
Kylie
Well, let's find out.
Ryan Reynolds
Hey, where we heading?
Kylie
A man dressed like a lumberjack and holding an M4 carbine approached us. We're just out for a walk.
Ty
Sorry, but you can't come this way.
Kylie
How come? The road's blocked.
Ryan Reynolds
New rules now.
Ty
Just turn around.
Kylie
Relax. I'm a guard over by Shoreline Highway. We're just out walking.
Ryan Reynolds
Then you should know they seal off the highway down there too.
Kylie
No, I wasn't aware. I know they're planning an expansion, but south of the lodge is all new territory. This road leads to the other side of the bay?
Ava
Yeah. Why would they cut it off?
Ryan Reynolds
The campground is being used for an entry point for imports.
Ava
So they need to cut off the entire road?
Ryan Reynolds
I just do as they tell me. Now, please, just head back. They'll reopen in the morning.
Ava
What if we lived over on that side?
Ryan Reynolds
Residences aren't open on the other side of the bay. At least not yet. Now, please.
Kylie
Fine. We're going. Turned around, crossed the road and headed back the way we came.
Ava
That's weird, right?
Kylie
Maybe they're worried about people stealing things.
Ava
But Jay helps with unloading on the docks. They don't seal off the docks at night.
Kylie
I don't know.
Ava
Do you know anything about the people that run this area?
Kylie
I've heard two names. Cohen with a K. And shoot, I can't remember the other name. A woman, I think.
Ava
Oh. Because I haven't heard much. Except Rita says most people don't even ask about it.
Kylie
I guess as long as things run smoothly, there's no need to, right?
Chris
Yeah.
Kylie
That is one thing you have to like about Bodega Bay. Everything seems to run smoothly. You may have a boring job, but at least we have food, water and a roof over our heads.
Ava
But that's the illusion of normality.
Kylie
I'll still take that over everything else right now.
Ava
Yeah, I guess you're right.
Ryan Reynolds
Sa.
Rita
Hey. You're going out now? It's 4:00 in the morning.
Ryan Reynolds
I have to.
Rita
Why?
Ryan Reynolds
I motioned towards the window. The window that was open, displaying the scene across the bay. Bright light and movement over by the campground.
Rita
New suppliers?
Ryan Reynolds
Yeah, and there's a chance for more. We lost two people tonight.
Rita
Let me guess. Incompetence?
Ryan Reynolds
No, not this time. I. I don't think.
Rita
What makes you say that?
Ryan Reynolds
I held up my radio because Troy was with them this time.
Rita
That doesn't mean anything.
Ryan Reynolds
Sure it does, Grace.
Rita
Well, okay. So why do you have to go out there then? Can't Troy take care of it?
Ryan Reynolds
I need to show face. You're the one who told me it's all about morale.
Rita
Morale can wait till the morning.
Ryan Reynolds
No, not this time.
Rita
Fine. But I'm going back to bed.
Ryan Reynolds
Okay. I don't know why she was upset. This was her idea. Troy said it would be smart for me to show face. And Grace said morale was the most important thing here. So here I was, making an effort. I was exhausted. But sleep could wait.
Rita
Oh, and Cohen, don't wake me up when you come back, please.
Ryan Reynolds
And with a sharp swish of her hair and gown, she walked back upstairs. She didn't see me roll my eyes, which was good. I grabbed my gun and keys and went outside. It was a cool night. I wasn't looking forward to this, but I had to do It. I decided to take the jeep tonight. I wanted to be intimidating. And that's something the turquoise Mini Cooper wouldn't suppose.
Rita
Okay, tell me one more time, Tyrell, and really think. Was she dead?
Ryan Reynolds
I'm sorry, Chris. She was hit. She fell. That's all I saw.
Rita
But you.
Ava
But you think.
Ryan Reynolds
I think she's dead. Yes.
Ty
Me and Dana stood to the side as Chris paced.
Ava
No.
Ty
No.
Ava
I don't believe it. We have to send more people up to find out.
Ty
We can't do that.
Chris
Why?
Ty
Because Terrell says they were all shot? You think we should send more people into that? We have to look at all of our options.
Ava
There are no other options. I won't accept what he says until.
Rita
I see her body.
Ty
Chris.
Rita
You sent her up there.
Ryan Reynolds
Chris, we understand what you're going through and we understand the situation. That's why we're trying to figure things out. We're short on options and shorter on time.
Kylie
You got that right. We can't stay here much longer.
Ty
I know that, Hudson.
Rita
You need to make a decision.
Ryan Reynolds
But if you don't head up there, I will.
Ty
And you'll be killed.
Ryan Reynolds
There's a lot of them. We could possibly take them. But we need everyone. And we need one hell of a plan.
Kylie
Travis. We need to worry about the vehicles too if we lose.
Ty
Then what do you suggest? Diverting off the road. It's all forest now. Splitting our party to deal with the thrashers and bandits simultaneously. We can't spread ourselves too thin. Taking everyone here and rushing the base. 90% of these people can't fight and we don't have enough weapons even if they could. Suddenly Dana grabbed my shoulder and pulled me back.
Ryan Reynolds
I. I actually have an idea.
Ty
What? Dana. He took a step forward into the group. The group that consisted of all the second in commands. The people that were once under Mia, Gale, Annie and Harlow.
Ryan Reynolds
Why would we do the fighting? We have a whole herd of Thrashers behind us. Maybe we can lead them to the base, divert the convoy and let them follow a few of us up. Then let the bandits and the thrashers duke it out.
Kylie
And we just wait?
Ryan Reynolds
Yeah, wait it out and deal with the leftovers.
Kylie
You think that'll work?
Ryan Reynolds
I think it's our best option.
Ty
It could mean the base getting destroyed.
Kylie
And we'd need to divert people asap.
Ava
And what if Mia or anyone else.
Rita
Is actually still alive?
Ryan Reynolds
I don't know all the answers. But what I do know is we need to think of something fast. Unless anyone else has any other ideas, this is the best chance we have End of All Hope Written by Robert M.
