Foreign welcome to the Epic Success podcast. I AM your host, Dr. Shannon Urban. Today I'm going to be deep diving into what's driving your business, driving your business, the force that is behind why you're doing business to begin with, why you got into an online business. Maybe you're a coach, a course creator, service provider, maybe you're an author, you're a speaker. Talking about the force that is pushing behind your business is something I rarely hear talked about. However, it can be the very thing that keeps you stuck on a revenue cycle. Meaning if you've been the kind of person that this was absolutely me, that in a prior version of me, I should say that that pushed, strived hustle and that energy can actually get lift. But a lot of times that is based on a fear motivating why we're doing what we're doing. What do I mean by that? For me, it was this desire to want to create a life that's different than what I had. And so I had a life growing up that hard work was the way to do it and that you could be successful if you worked hard. But yet I saw my parents work really, really, really hard, but never really get anywhere. In fact, we would drive around these neighborhoods with what peop. What my dad would always say, these people who make a couple hundred thousand dollars a year think they own us. Good people. So God bless my father, he's in heaven now. But this created a thought process for me because my prefrontal cortex. Your prefrontal cortex isn't fully developed until we're like 24. So that part of our brain that can call BS on a thought isn't fully developed. So I grew up and my mind was literally trained that if I get to $200,000, I become a bad person that uses people but goes completely against my values as a human being. I want to serve first, honor God, serve him first, love others, serve deeply. Right? And so my business was driven out of a fear of like wanting to provide for my children, freedom and capacity and ability for me to be there all the time because my family wasn't there for me all the time and we didn't have money and I wanted something different for my family. And so my energy was a fear based energy, a push energy, a forceful energy I was working from, trying to prove that I wasn't poor, trying to prove that I could do it, trying to prove it's a proving, forceful energy. Now here's what I need you to hear. You can create a pretty cool business up to About a six figure business from that energy. But who you will attract into your business will be similar fear driven people as clients. And so what started happening is as I started growing, as I think I've shared my story with you, I was working with a mentor and I was noticing I had the same strategies as she did, but her thinking process was totally different. So I was starting to up level and realizing it was my mind, realizing it was how I thought about money, worth enoughness, ability, capacity, service, all that. So as these realizations were coming along, I would be hearing the stories from my clients and wow, did they reflect a lot of that fear. It's gonna go all the way. I'm not sure if I can do it those kind of conversations. So I knew something needed to shift. And it was honestly in a prayer time that I had that God really revealed to me and something that I want to share with you today and that is there is a driving force behind your business. So a lot of times, and I know I would say this, it's like I want to create freedom. I want to be able to be where I want to be, when I want to be there. And I want to create that. But when you create it from the force, from the push, from the stride, from fear, fear being the energy behind it, what happens is, and this was definitely for me, I traded a 9 to 5 to be chained to many more hours because I was never working enough. I felt like I had to work hard to deserve it. And so I literally replaced the 9 to 5 with another job. Like literally double the amount of time because there was no end to the fear. Pushing. Do more. It's not enough yet. You haven't arrived yet. Do more, do more, do more, do more. It's a pushing, it's a forceful energy. So when I was praying this one time, I heard, and I don't think I'm cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs. Like I don't hear an audible voice, but I just felt the impression of like something will drive your business. Fear has been doing that. But what if it's love? What if the God who created the universe created us to be creators, right? So what if the creation of my business, the creation of my offers, the creation of my time with my clients comes from a different force, from a, I would say instead of a forceful but a powerful push, one where love pushes. The desire to serve pushes versus the desire to not fail. The desire to prove my parents wrong, that desire. And at the same time I was becoming obsessed with how the mind creates results how, how did her brain get wired that way and mine didn't? And as a lot of you know, I took a hard right turn and I was, I always say the doctor in front of my name stands for Desperate enough, Desperate and rogue. Desperate enough to go get a PhD to figure out how to get past my ceiling and income. And what I discovered in that time was this unfolding of what is driving the business. And I, I wanted to bring forward this. Some of you aren't have the same faith as me, it doesn't matter. These are universal principles. But I believe these universal principles are something to sit with when you're thinking about it. If you're at six figures and you're wanting to go to seven, but you feel like you're on a treadmill, like you're constantly starting over, chances are that this different force is, is alive and active and is literally constraining you. I heard this analogy, I love it. It's like if you had a 600 square foot apartment and you put all the restoration hardware and beautiful gorgeous decorations and it's divine. That's what a six figure business looks like. Built on fear, built on force. Creating from that place and attracting. And you know, if you're listening to this, you know, because you're attracting clients that aren't paying on time, that are telling you you're not delivering the hundreds of things that you are delivering. You're, you're attracting a person that is afraid as well. And it's like being in that Bougie doubt 600 square foot apartment. It looks amazing from the inside. And yes it's six figures but it's, its capacity is at its limit. There's nothing else you can put in. So we gotta bust down some of those walls. And what that was for me was learning how to think like a seven figure CEO. Learning how to the, the thought patterns, the actions, the beliefs, the execution and training that into my thinking. And what this unfolded was a conversation back and forth with me and God about how do I drive a business from love. That is my heart by the way, and I think you can feel that through the screen or through the audio that you're listening to is my heart is deeply to serve, to get to the next level. But one of the things that I really needed to shift was the driving force. And I want to bring forward some scriptures into this because I think a lot of times we don't realize that there is a driving force in action that you don't have to create that just is. So I want you to think about this. And this might sound wooey, but it's very science based. Abundance and flow. If you're from a fear state, you're saying I'm trying to create abundance. But abundance doesn't get created, it already is created. Wait a minute. So if abundance exists and it's already flowing and yes, that sounds woo, but let me grab a scripture from Genesis 1:28. He in the beginning, God created and he kept creating and he kept creating and there was so much creation, there was massive abundance. And there's more than you could ever ask or imagine in Genesis. This is my point here. In Genesis 1:28, he then says, I blessed them. I want you to be fruitful. Fruitful just means what I put in you produce that out in the world, give that out to the world so that the world can take fruit from the thing that I only gave you. Because the fruitfulness isn't the same in any one person. We've discovered through science. DNA studies have shown we're 99% DNA identical, 1%. That difference maker is not repeatable. So when God said, I made them and I blessed them to be fruitful, what he's saying is I put something in you that is supposed to bear fruit. And there are others in the world that need that fruit, that if you do not bear that fruit, they do not receive what they need. So do you see how that is born from this already flowing abundance? Right? Blessed to be fruitful. And here's the linchpin, y'all. Multiply. We are called to be fruitful, to be creators and to multiply. Can we let go of the guilt of like, oh, I shouldn't make money, oh, enough is enough, y'all. Like in the beginning, God made more than you could ever, ever, ever consume. Then he blessed us then, then he said, that fruit that's inside of you, please go and put it out to the world. And then he said, don't just put it out to the world, multiply it. So you're called to be a multiplier. You're called to multiply. What? What are you called to multiply? The fruit that was put within you. You don't just keep the fruit for yourself. You don't just say, God gave me this fruit and I don't want to multiply it because oh my gosh, that could be sinful. No, God says in Genesis 1:28, Be fruitful, the fruit that only you have, and multiply it, multiply it, multiply it. We are called to be multipliers. But Here I, I, I really want to land this idea of multiplication because this is how you draw your business from love. So if we know we're called to be fruitful, and the fruit that we have is only in us, and no one else in the world has what God planted in us, that gets to mature, gets to get out to the world, be fruitful, and gets to multiply, then if that's the case, is there competition? No, because my fruit and your fruit and his fruit, it's, it's all different. And I think God did that just to show you how abundance already is. That as long as you produce and multiply what you have and everyone else does that, then there's more than we could ever ask or imagine. Okay, so what does that mean as an entrepreneur, driving from love? Well, first of all, driving from love means you put it out there like a pro, that you honor God by being fruitful and multiplying, that it's right in the very first book of the Bible. Like, don't read the rest if you're not willing. And I don't mean that like read the rest, but like, be fruitful with the fruit that's been planted in you by God. God says, I gave you those desires in your heart. Now go be fruitful and multiply those desires. Can I get an amen? I'm going into entrepreneur church here today. All right, so how do we, so the next thing is like, okay, Shannon, I am driving through fear and I don't want to anymore because, yeah, I don't, I don't love. Let's just be honest, like the clients that it's attracting. And yes, I have a great six figure business, but now I have three staff members and I'm responsible for their revenue. And there are days that you probably think maybe I should just go back to just being me, running a solo business because it was easier than. And I'm going to tell you, God's calling you to multiply, but he's calling you to do it from the force of love, not the force of fear. So how do we take that even deeper into that? Like, how do I do that? So the parable of the talents is Matthew 25:14 30. I'm not going to read it. You go look it up. But base. The basic of this story is there was a man who owned a lot lot. And in this parable, it's the Lord, right? And he gave. You're going to see the connection to Genesis and what I was just talking. He gave to one person, one bag. Of gold. One talent is what it's called. That's a. That's a monetary amount. So he gave a monetary amount, one of them to one person, he gave three of them to another person, and he gave five of them to a third person. And he said exactly what he said in Genesis. I'm going to be going away for a little bit. When I return, I look forward to seeing the fruit of what you've done with it. What, like crazy pants? You didn't realize those were connected, right? So. So it's. He's showing you again. You are called to be a multiplier. You are called to impact. You were called to put it out there. You were called to be pro. You were called to go all in and own your. Your fruit. Multiply. Okay, you get the idea. So the one person. So the. The one they gave to, he gave five to, went out and doubled it. So five became 10. The one that was given three. Oh, and by the way, he said that was given based on their ability to handle it. So don't give in the. Like, I have one, she has three, he has five, I have what it. Don't miss this. The fa. The person who had five became a person that had capacity for 10. You're going to see that in a second. But. But God's never going to give you more than you can actually steward, right? Because if we're stewarding it from fear, what are we going to do with it? But if we're stewarding it from love, that's what he's talking about. Like. Like your ability to continue to multiply and continue to give. So with the five, that person went out and doubled it. So he ended up with 10, she ended up with 10. The person with three went out and doubled it and ended up with six instead of three. But the person with one, the person that's drive was fear. Oh, somebody's getting this right now. Hoarded it, buried it, didn't let anybody see it, and it didn't multiply. So my question to you, are you burying it? Are you hiding it behind perfectionism, behind planning, behind doing things that seem busy, but do not put yourself out there because there's fear driving. What will they think? Who will they be? What if it fails? So same thing was going on in this parable. And then the. The person of the house, the. The. The wealthy man came back and he said to the person with five, what happened with what I gave you? And he said, you know, master, I doubled it. And he said, amazing. Great job. Way to Go. And isn't that what we're after? That like, atta girl. You're doing it. You're blessing me? You're honoring me. Yes, yes, yes. We said to the person with three. What happened? Same thing. I doubled it, sir. And. And he said, incredible way to use what I gave you and doubled it. You multiplied it. See the multiplication concept there? And he said to the person with one. So tell me what happened. He said, I was afraid, sir. I was afraid that you'd be mad if I did anything wrong with it or if it got out there. Do you hear the. The drive behind it? And he said, okay, so I buried it, I hit it, and no one knew it existed. So here's what you gave me. And what was said is, no, no, no. I actually now need to take your talent and I'm going to give it to the one that had five. Wait, that doesn't seem fair. Why? Why would that. Because our only job is if we want to honor God in our world. And when we talk about the mind and how the mind allows abundance, this is so in line with science. Because if there is a. If there's a neural pathway of fe. Operate is the driver of your business. You're always looking. We. I was always looking at what could go wrong and trying to prove something wrong and trying to. Like, we're always on the treadmill, right? We're always on the treadmill. And we're all wired a little bit different. So some of us procrastinate, some of us are perfectionists, some of us do take the action and it's messy and. But yet we're doing it from fear, right? And so he took what he originally given to the. The one and gave it to the five because he knew the person with them that had the five. Now you easily could have given to the person with three. Don't get tripped up on that. He knew that it. That that talent, that fruit, would get multiplied over here. And it wasn't being multiplied. See, the fruit's gotta get multiplied. It's gotta go out, it's gotta serve. Okay? So the driving force of your business, start to think through what is behind the reason. Yes, I know you want freedom. I know you want to get seven figures. Another strategy isn't going to do it. Another hire isn't going to do it. Another agency isn't going to do it. Another. I'm going to add memberships. I'm going to be a digital stop. Let's get this part dialed in so that you. You no longer have to be constrained to that 600 square foot apartment, as good as it looks. But the walls bust down to the 5,10,000 square foot home that can really show the world, show God. If you're, if that's your reason that you are being fruitful and you're multiplying. So at the end of the day, when you get to the end of your days, you can say, you could hear the words well done, good and faithful person. Because you took what I gave you, you were fruitful with it and you multiplied it. I believe God's anointing is on business. And he gives us this brain to help us be able to wire the ability to be fruitful, to wire the ability to multiply. He is a multiplier. He is the ultimate abundance. Everything that needs to be made, everything that will ever be made was made and created. Even money, even business, even all that. Why? Because the thing that is in you, he knows you have a choice. Either bury it and just do enough, end up in that 600 square foot, be like that one with the one talent. Or you can say okay, this is going to be a crazy wild ride, but I am ready to go pro. I'm ready to bust down the walls. I'm ready to be what I'm called to be. To multiply 10, 20. There is another scripture I didn't write down here. But, but when you, he says when you do this, I will give you ten, thirty, a hundred times more than you even ask or imagine. Because he knows you can. Now you are a steward that gives you drive from love. And I want to wrap this episode and it was a very different episode, but I'm telling you, you know, my VIP days now are $100,000. I work with six, seven and eight figure in couple nine figure entrepreneurs. Several times a year we get together $100,000 each time working where I'm helping them tweak and dial in this driving force, this identity for the next thing. The ability to remove resistance. All those key components that takes you from what I call a hustle stuck six figure entrepreneur to a seven figure CEO and then the eight and beyond. No strategy. You can't outperform out hustle or outmaneuver a strategy that's, that's outside of this 600 square foot apartment if you're driving from the wrong horse, right? So when we dial in everything that we're meant to be, the thinking, the actions, the execution, the capacity and we start to build in our brains, not just sit on a rock and hope it happens no, this is a very brain based process. Your neural networks have to be wired for the next level or your brain will absolutely stop you dead in your tracks. And so the biggest thing that I saw through the PhD is how fear alters a brain's capacity to, to get results, to achieve. And it makes sense when you look at the parable of the talents, you're like, of course, because fear is the driving force. So it truncates it. Literally. You can see neural networks like truncating and stopping, not being able to see in that abundant way. And so that is something that it has. If you didn't grow up with it, if you grew up in different circumstances, it becomes your highest priority because you've got to get in the V. The vehicle of your mind is what allows you to think, act and execute on those next levels. And so why did I bring that up on the VIP days and $100,000? Because that's what people are willing to do to get to the next level and the next level and the next level. In fact, we're about to up that right now. If you're, if you're wanting that VIP day, you got to reach out to me before they do that. But I want to bring it back to this when, when you're driven, and I've got a cheat sheet here, when you're driven by love, calling, purpose, fruitfulness, multiplication, when you're driven by that, you go out of the place where your brain is stopping you and you literally align or go under or be in the hiding place of the ultimate abund, the one that created it all, the one that wants to see you multiply, wants to see you get to 7 and 8 and 9. Why? Because the more that you, driven through the force of love, go out and make a difference in people's lives that honors your creator. So I hope this is breaking it down for you in a way that helps you to understand like, and I'm going to talk for a minute, for those of you who, if you're just getting started, I'm going to tell you the great news. But if you're at six figures and you're what I call hustle stuck and you're having mental conversations of like this is hard, I don't, you know, like it. I was able to get to one place through hustle, strength, through the push, through force, but now force is no longer working. And you know it's not a strategy because you've done all the strategies, you've probably hired the agencies, you probably have team you're responsible for. Right? So and even though you've had the conversation in your mind of maybe I'll just go back to like when it was just me and it was so much easier, like you have this conversation but the vision, the desire, the dream, the multiplier in you is saying I can't like I want to get to seven. If you're driven that way and you're like I really have to multiple supply, like it is what I'm put on this earth to do and I know it's the air for me, but I also know I'm, I'm in that 600 square foot apartment. Then I really want to challenge you to not chase another strategy, another hire another agency, but learn how to unhook from being that hustle stuck six figure CEO or entrepreneur. I would say to a truly aligned seven figure CEO, this is a trainable brain based neuroscience process, obviously based in scripture too. But like it's how the brain will allow you to get to seven figures. So no amount of push is going to get you there. So we got to train or unlock that part of you so that you can actually just get in that slipstream that already exists, become that seven figure CEO and thoughts and actions and execution and capacity. And we do that in an immersive event that is only for six figure entrepreneurs.
