Started innocently, one sip and then suddenly I was thinking about it. Constantly craving it, longing for it, Asking myself, what is this feeling, this completely unhinged desire to drink water? Specifically Hint Water. I tried the peach raspberry flavor and honestly, it rewired something in me. The second it touched my lips, I ascended. It was subtle, juicy, refreshing. Like my body finally understood what hydration was supposed to feel like. Just crisp water with this delicate little whisper of fruit that makes your brain go wait. More of that immediately. And the dangerous part? It has no Sugar, no sweeteners and no calories. It's literally just water infused with fruit essence. That's it. Somehow it tastes like a treat while technically being responsible behavior. So, yeah, I've been seduced by water. Hint has no sugar, no sweeteners and no calories. Just water with fruit essences. Hello, everyone, and welcome to Everything Iconic with me, Danny Pellegrino. In the words of Shannon Stormspador, I am pissed. I am pissed. I didn't even pull a clip from this week's episode of the Real House Orange county, because what clip would I have pulled? Should I have pulled a clip of hip going through Jen's closet? I mean, what do we. Ah. And look, I want to be positive on this podcast. I want to go forth and talk about all the things that I loved on these shows. Of course I love these shows, love the Bravo network. I love the Real Housewives. Orange county has given us 20 years of television, most of it good. Not all of it. Of course. There was Elizabeth Vargas season, which we do not speak on. However, I have been willing to give it the benefit of the doubt. I knew that this season was going to be a little bit back to basics, celebrating the 20th year of the Real Housewives. We brought Vicki back, gave her back the orange, and honestly, Vicki's the thing that's working the best for me for this show right now. But we are three episodes in and something better happen because I'm sitting here waiting. I'm watching the episodes we're three episodes in, which is how many hours of television? 45 minutes an episode. 42 minutes an episode times three. That is the length of a feature length film. And you mean to tell me we got nothing happening. The length of feature length film. I'm sitting watching these episodes and I'm waiting. You hear me, Bravo? I'm waiting for something to happen. And I'm not talking about some podcast bullshit or even we got Tamra and Shannon making up. I don't even think they like each other. They're just making up for the show. If the show didn't exist, they would never speak to each other again. They'd move on their merry way. And, I mean, come on, what are we doing? What are we doing? I feel like. I feel a little insane. And again, I want to have some patience. I want to have some patience. And I think we have to have these seasons sometimes where there's not like, a big scandal or there's a big legal situation or there's not a big divorce or something like that. But at the same time, I'm gonna need something to happen. And we can't rely on the quirkiness of Shannon at a chiropractor anymore. I mean, how many times are we going to see her going to Dr. Tim? I've had enough. It's like when she goes to the other doctor. I've seen those two doctors too many times. And I'm sick of Shannon doing that. Her prat falls and all that shit. Anyway, we're going to talk about the episode. I don't have that many notes, so it might be a short recap, because normally I come out of these episodes, and if it's a good episode, sometimes I'll have three, four pages of notes. Guess what? I got a page and a half here. A page and a half. Like, I'm pissed. And I don't want to have a page and a half. I want to have five pages of notes. Because then I get on the microphone, I get talk for 100 hours about things that I love about the episode, but instead, I'm going to have to drag it. And please just turn this. I don't want to yuck anyone's yum. So if you want to just hear some positivity, maybe go listen to an old episode, go listen to something else. I don't know, go tune in on something else. Because that's not what's going to be happening here. Unfortunately. On the Valley recap, which I'm also recapping right now, I talked about the Real Houses of New York, which is coming back for a new season. And I think the trailer looks great. Carol's going to be full time. We did talk about that, however, because this is the Housewives episode. I did just want to mention that that trailer looked great. I'm still a little skeptical, because sometimes the trailers look great and the season's not great. Oh, and the other thing I mentioned quirkiness. That's the other thing I wanted to point out that we didn't discuss about the Real Houses in New York trailer for the new season. That's coming in September is that I think one of the things that worked best about early Roni is how crazy all of the women were. And I think what Carol worked best at was sort of highlighting the kookiness of the other women. So it's like having a scene with Carol and Ramona was always really fun because Carol seems kind of qu. Quiet, shy, a little grounded, like a normal human being. And seeing her up against a Luann or a Dorinda or Sonya or Ramona, like, that was always what was really fun. And so I'm happy that Carol's back full time, but I'm not completely sold, because I don't know that we have a lot of quirkiness on the cast otherwise, and we got a few new cast members that seem a little bit nuts, so maybe they will be that for Carol. But as it stands, that's one of the things that I'm worried about, because even if you're watching the Real Houses of Orange county, which we'll get into this week's episode, there's not a whole lot of, like, funniness. And if we're not getting a whole lot of funniness, then we need some drama. Like, we need something. Do you see what I'm saying? So, like, I'm totally fine, like, if they're not giving us these big, full, dramatic episodes, but then I'm gonna need some stuff to laugh at. Some. And I don't mean, like, Shannon's pratfalls. I mean, like, laughing at them, not with them. Does that make sense? And the Real House of Salt Lake City gives us that, because even when there's not drama, which that show always delivers tons of drama, I'm still laughing at the women because they're quirky and weird and whatever. And that happened in the original run of New York. But on Orange county, it's like, none of them are that weird. Vicki, to me, is, like, the most quirky and weird, and again, she's what's working the best for me. So, anyway, we open this week with Tamara and Sofia. Sofia is moving out of the house, and I'm so happy that Tamara could film with the daughter. But then also, it's like, it feels like she's only filming with the daughter. And I'm thinking in my head, like, stop trying to make Sophia happen, because God bless Sofia, we're happy that she's moving out of the house. She's got her own life. She seems like, you got a nice boyfriend, Nico. And Tamara says she's been raising kids for 40 years. And I'm exhausted for her. I think she deserves a medal for raising the kids for 40 years. That's a lot of time to be dedicated to parenting. However, it's like enough with. They're trying to make Sofia happen. And we haven't gotten to know Sofia over the years because she didn't film for the first 18 years that Tamara was on the show or however amount of time I think she filmed at the beginning. And then her and Simon divorced. I want a divorce. You. You. And then Sofia turned 18, started filming again. But it's like we sat all that time away from her. It's like now they're trying to make Sophia happen. It's like I don't have a connection to her. And I know they're trying to make us have a connection to Sofia, but I don't have one. The best thing about Safiya was when she was moving in the new apartment, she put that Victorian picture up. Remember that picture? I was like, where the fuck did she get that? Where'd she get that? You know, I've been going to the stores lately and it does feel like they're doing a lot of AI photos. Is anyone noticing that? You go to the store, these home goods stores, and some of the artwork that I'm seeing, I'm like, that's not a real human being that made that. It's just like a. A random picture. And I was looking at this picture of the woman who Sophia calls Helen. That's what she names the person on the painting. And I was like, is Helen real? I don't know. Maybe she's a real person. I'm not sure. Anyway, then we cut to hip, go into Dr. Tim, the chiropractor. And this is Shannon's chiropractor we've seen on the show a million times. And I don't know how this man keeps showing up because I've never liked him, not once he's shown up, not once on this show if I liked it. But Shannon's been seeing him for 11 years and she probably goes somewhere else because I don't think she's adjusted in any way emotionally or physically because she can't stand upright for longer than two minutes. She seems emotionally all over the place. She drove her car into a house. Like, I don't think this man's adjusting her properly. And so maybe it's time to see a new chiropractor or something. And then to watch Shannon scream about her chicken meatballs during the adjustment. Guys, I can't I can't with her. And I know people love her stick. A lot of people do. Not everybody, but some people do. Also, when Hip and Shannon were at the chiropractor at Dr. Tim's, didn't it look like there was Vaseline on the camera? Like, did they just slather on Vaseline? Like, what was that weird filter? I couldn't even see a pore on Hip. And not that she's not a beautiful woman, but I was like, are they just slathering on the Vaseline? Which maybe they should. Like, if I was on television, if I had a weekly series, I'd say, slather that thing with Vaseline so I look like a clear as a day. Like, I want to look freshly botoxed even when I'm not on the screen. So maybe put the Vaseline on the lens. But it just was shocking to my eyes because I'm like, when did this start happening? Lately, I feel like every time I'm certain, it's certain scenes, too. Like, how are they deciding? Or you see LVP on the network now, and it's not even lvp. It's just, like, fully. Just. You're, like, having a squint to see who it is. On the newest season of Vanderpump Rules, like, the reboot, every time they'd show lvp, it just looked like they were using a totally different lens, and they were putting her through a Snapchat filter from a few years ago, and you couldn't even. You'd have to really, like, squint your eyes to, like, see, who is that? And you'd be like, oh, that's lvp. Or that's LVP and Ken. But it's like, what are they doing? How are they deciding this? Is it in the contracts? Like, did Hip have it in her contract for this season? I can't imagine she's so powerful that she could get the Vaseline in the lens for every one of her scenes. Nobody else's. I don't understand it. Anyway, Tamara apparently told Emily she's gonna be invited to the iheart events again because they made up about the podcast drama, which nobody wants to hear about the podcast drama. I thought we were done with it. Last week when they made up, I was like, great, we got rid of the end of that podcast drama. And then this week, again, they're bringing it up like, I don't want to hear one thing about the fucking I heart drama. Or how Tamara said she wasn't getting letting Emily get invited to the iheart events. Which reminds me of when Tamara got me fired from the Bravo Con. Not remember that? Not exactly fired, but that one year. This was years ago, I was. They had asked me to host the Orange county panel, and then I was not hosting the Orange county panel. And then a couple years later, I did host the Orange county panel. And then Tamara told me at the panel, she's like, they had. They had assigned me to the Orange county panel. And she told them no. Like, she got me. I still did. Bravo con. Bravo con still hired me, but she did get me removed from a panel of hers. This was. I don't know, this was like a few Bravo cons ago. It wasn't like the most recent one or the one before that. Because two Bravo Cons ago, I did host the Orange county panel. But anyway, I'm like, Tamara's just call. I would never even think to do that. I don't care how much power I have. I would never think to call an employer and be like, hey, do not hire that person. Anyway, Vic, you know what? Actually I feel like I'm sort of doing that because every week I get on this microphone, I'm like, fire that housewife. You know, I'm not employed by Bravo, but you know what I'm saying? Like, I do get on the microphone and say, and I'm gonna say it this week, we gotta. We gotta make some changes on Orange county because I don't know what the fuck we're doing. We're circling the drain here. But Vicki, she calls and invites Shannon to lunch with her and Tamara. Vicki's trying to get the Trace amigos to make up. And I'm happy. Like, I want them to move on because I don't want to be stuck in this storyline with Shannon and Tamara. But at the same time, like, none of it feels any sense of reality to me because I don't think they actually like each other. Anyway, then we cut to Sofia's new apartment. She hangs that Victorian painting named Helen and Sophia encourages Tamara to be neutral. And I could only imagine for 20 years, if you're in these people's lives, like, think about Billy, Vicky's brother, or anyone in Tamara's family. Like, for the most part, Vicky and Tamara have been on this show for 18 years, right? 18 plus seasons. So over that time, imagine him being someone's a sibling or a parent or a close friend who's not on one of these shows with them. It must be exhausting to have to hear about, like, Tamara and Shannon Fighting again. Because if you were Sophia, Tamara's daughter, you'd be like, why are you fighting with her again? Like, enough is enough. Like, you've been doing this for 15 years. Like, when are you gonna just move on from the friendship? But that must be exhausting. Must be exhausting. Then we cut to Jen and Ryan, who were at a plant store. I do love a plant store. It looked like they were selling birds. I love a store like this where you could get all sorts of different things. We have this plant store nearby. I guess you call them a nursery or something, but they have, like, the indoor section and the outdoor section. So the outdoor section, you can go get your mom's. Your pumpkins. During the fall season, you can get your outdoor stuff. And then inside, they have all sorts of little trinkets. They got some jams. You can even get some jam. Like, if you need a good strawberry jam, you can go to the nursery and get it. I don't know where they get it sourced it from. You get a nice jar of jam or a nice platter. A nice platter for charcuterie. Or sometimes they'll have, like, a wooden serving table or just some, like, random kitchen stuff. You're like, what's that? Or stuff that you put in. Little stuff that you put in the garden or, like, decorative frogs or decorative windmills that you could put in your flower pots on the inside or the outside. And then in the holiday season probably, if I were to go there now, you could get all sorts of fall Halloween merch because they're bringing out the Halloween stuff. It's code orange. Everywhere you go now, Code orange means they got the Halloween out, or they're slowly dipping out the Halloween. At some of the stores, like, you go to the. You go to the grocery store, and they got one aisle that's got, like, one bag of the Reese's Trick or Treat candy. And you're like, what the fuck is that? You know, it's, like, creeping up on us. It's like Jaws in the water. Like, it's coming. Like, the ghosts. The ghosts are coming. Anyway, then I love that Jen and Ryan are at the store at the plants, and Jen wants to talk to the son, Grayson, who's got one, who got the ticket for going over 100 miles per hour. And Jen's like, I want to talk to him. She says, he's beating himself up over the ticket. And I thought, like, good. He should be beating himself up for the ticket, because you know how pissed I am about that ticket. I've Talked about it on the show already. And I know he's only a 17 year old, so we want to give him grace, and he's growing and learning, and I know he's got the issue with the dad, and so they're saying he's acting out, but also, like, that's not an excuse. So you need some tough love, Mr. Grayson. And so I understand that you got a problem with your dad, but you're still 17 years old. And so if you want to be driving around in a car, in a big boy vehicle, then you need to go the speed limit or at max 10 miles per hour over the speed limit. Like, there's no excuse for going 100 and whatever miles per hour. And, you know, I'm pissed about that because he could have hurt somebody. And the fact that Jen is. I know she's given him grace and she's, like, worried about him, but she's like, oh, I'm so. He's beating himself up. Like, I'd be like, good, he should beat himself up over that, because it's not okay. Anyway, then we get to Heather plating three pickles inexplicably. And they're really trying to bore us. They're really trying to bore us when they just show us Heather plating three pickles. But she's bummed by Jen. She brings up something Jen said at the reunion, and it's like, okay, like, they got nothing to talk about on this show. It's like they're just going back to that reunion. I didn't even think Jen and Heather had a problem at the reunion. So the fact that we're bringing up something that Jen said at the reunion, I was like, what is this? I don't even remember that happening at the reunion. It was so inconsequential. Whatever Jen said at the reunion about Heather. And now they're bringing it up. They're also bringing up Carmella. She got Emily Hip a gift for Hip's birthday. Remember they went to the Drag Queen bingo, and she got a Dior gift for the birthday. And Carmela asked, I guess, called up Emily and was like, why didn't you open it in front of everybody? Because she wanted her to open in front of everybody. And Emily's like, why did she want me to open in front of you? And the reason was because there was a vibrator in there. And I guess Carmela thought she was being funny or something and being silly. I'm like, what? What? It was like, Carmela put a lot of thought that she was doing, like a big bit. And I was like, what's the bit? I didn't even. I didn't even understand what the bit was. I guess Terry explained it. He said something like, oh, if you don't like the bag, then you can go fuck yourself. Like, that was. That was the punchline. But that didn't seem like it was Carmela's punchline. Like, that was Terry debrow coming up with the bit. So, like, what was. What was it? And then it seems just, you're wasting money, Carmela, and I'm on your side here. But. And everybody, look. That's a great gift. Give everybody a vibrator. It's a great gift. Or a Dior bag, one or the other, but I don't think you need to do both. And apparently Carmilla had to order like seven vibrators to see which would fit in the Dior bag because she was being silly. What? Let's take a break here. Let's take a break. I want to thank Acast. We'll be right back. We still got more to discuss. I'm gonna try to. I'm gonna try to be more positive. I'm gonna turn it around and talk about the things I liked, I did like, I guess. I suppose I like that Carmelo was at least trying to do something. And maybe she'll fight with Emily about the vibrator going forward. Who's to say? I don't know. But let's take a break here and we'll be right back. There's so much energy that gets put into figuring out just what everyone in the household is going to eat in between work, the podcast, chasing after my son. It's really easy for healthy eating to fall to the bottom of the list of things to do, which is why I've stuck with hungryroot. Now. You're running around trying to do everything and then suddenly you're thinking, has everyone noticed the sweat marks under my arms? Or you're just generally overheating and uncomfortable. Which is why I'm telling you you need to check out Mack Weldon's Air Knit collection. It's the Air Knit X collection and it all started with underwear that was designed to wick moisture, fight odor and maximize airflow. And now they've expanded that same fabric into T shirts, polos, undershirts, socks, the whole lineup. You know I love their underwear. I've told you guys that before. I love that it feels incredibly lightweight, has four way stretch so nothing bunches up. And it's made to keep you feeling cool and fresh even on those brutally hot days. Plus it looks polished enough you don't feel like you're sacrificing style for comfort. I love my Mack Weldon. I think you should check them out. And that's why I've been loving my quints lately because they focus on really well made essentials and that fit into your everyday life without making you feel like you're trying too hard. And lately for me, I've been getting so much stuff from quints. I recently got a men's silver necklace. I'm not someone who wears a ton of jewelry, but I do like a necklace or bracelet or a ring that goes with everything. Whether I'm recording the podcast or just running errands or going out to a fancy dinner with my husband, I throw it on without even thinking about it. And the quality is really what surprised me the most. It feels substantial, looks great, and honestly looks more expensive than it really was. And that's the kind of quince. And we're back. Okay, so I know I'm complaining about these women not giving us anything. And it's not just them, it's the whole production of the show. Feels a little dusty to me. And the reason why I complain is because these are people who've been on television for a while. They should be delivering entertainment for us. They should know how to deliver entertainment. It's not up to me or us to to do it for them. We need them to deliver the entertainment. So if they don't get any drama between them. Then they're gonna need to step it up and give us some it factor. These are TV stars. You're a TV star, so step it up. Step it up. You're a TV star. Do something. I don't know what you. It's not. I'm not here to say what that means. I'm not. That's above my pay grade. But I'm gonna need you to look alive and give us some laughs or some drama or some. Something. Something. And none of you are doing it. We see Vicki entering a lunch spot. Jen arrives, and it did make me laugh. Vicki said I'd get up, but I'm not. And then I felt that. I did feel that. I think it happened on the Valley, too. Somebody was walking, like the Chili's lunch, and it's like, I'd get up, but I'm not going to. And we've all felt that. But Gina arrives and asks Vicki. They start talking about a prenup. And Vicki's so happy to talk about finances. She all of a sudden loves Gina. In the confessional, I've never seen Vicki gush over Gina so much. Then in the confessional, after Gina asked her about financial situation because all of a sudden, Vicky could talk about the insurance. Her kodo, you know, she was so happy to be on camera. And she's like. I consider. You know, Gina's just like me. She's just like me. And I thought hell must have frozen over for Vicki to be saying that Gina's just like her. But it was smart of Gina to get Vicki on her good side. And also, I like that she was. I like that she was going to her. By the way, Gina Casita, she's never looked better, has she? I don't know if she got a new stylist or she got the hair fixed or. The hair's looking great, the makeup's looking great, the styling's looking great. I just have to shout out Gina. She's come such a long way, and she's never looked better. Just stunning and glowing. And I know she's got a good relationship with Travis, so I'm happy for her. I really am. And her business is doing great. She's, like, selling houses left, right, and center. Oh, the other thing I'm interested in is, like, that fight that's brewing between Gina and Carmela about the real estate stuff. I am excited about that, and I hope it goes somewhere, because you notice Gina keeps saying, like Carmela said, she's more of a Decorator in the real estate business. But I'm in real estate, and so I'm very fascinated by that. Very fascinated. And I like that they're talking about the prenup. Apparently, her and Travis are engaged. And also, Vicky got a ring. Her boyfriend Michael's got a ring, who's kept it in the safe for a year. And so Vicky knows it's coming, but she don't know when. And they all sit and talk about Shannon and Tamara. And then we cut to Carmela's rented house. I don't know that it's rented. It feels rented. It all feels very staged and not lived in to me. I know they got, like. They put up a couple picture frames on the kitchen island, like, right where they're filming, which feels weird to me because I'm like, who really does that? If you. If you have framed photos on your kitchen countertops, usually you have a bunch of other stuff. Does this make sense? Because the type of people who are going to put a family photo on their kitchen counter, they normally have more stuff, more decor, more whatever. Otherwise, if you have a very minimalistic house, I think you would put those framed photos in the living room or the. Or in another area or on a wall somewhere. But I'm looking at this house, and, like, I don't really feel like they live there. If you look around, it feels like they staged it for the TV show and they're only filming in that kitchen. And then even the other house in Corona del Mar, the other apartment, that felt very rented for the show to me, too. So I don't know. Maybe I'm being a conspiracy theorist, but I do feel like there's something fishy about what's happening with. With what's her name, Carmela's house. And I'm a little confused, too. Even when. Even when. What's it. The boyfriend shows up, I'm like, oh, is he. Is he really living there? It feels like they just. They cued him to go in and look. I don't know. It's a mystery we're gonna have to solve by the end of the season. For every mystery, there is someone somewhere who knows the truth. Perhaps that someone is watching. Perhaps it's you. Join me. So if you do know, please join me. Please reach out. If you're a realtor in the area or if you are on production, someone please let me know if you know something. If you see something, say something. And if you see something about Carmela not really living in either of these homes that they're Presenting us to on tv, Then please let me know, because that's a mystery that I need to solve. And maybe I'm wrong. Maybe this is just her style and the way she decorates her kitchen. But there's something fishy about it, and I don't believe it. I don't believe it. And they can piss on my leg all they want, but I'm not gonna believe it's raining. And so I need some answers. I need an answer. What else? The daughters are there at Carmella's house, and they bring up the vibrators on Amazon. It's also giving. Like, they brought the daughters in and they. They cued them to enter the scene and talk about the vibrators and about how Carmela ordered seven to get one that fit inside the purse. Also, the daughter tried to buy cough drops. And apparently you have to be 18 to buy the cough drops. And the daughter says, a man tried to buy them. Carmela' let a man buy you things. And I was proud of her for saying that. But also I have concerns about why we can't buy cough drops at 17. Or what are they putting in the cough drops these days? Am I missing something? Are they a special cough drop? Like, I know everything's locked up behind the gates now. You go into cvs, you can't even buy a cough drop because you got to ring the bell and have someone unlock it with the key or whatever the fuck they're doing now. But the cough drop. I didn't know you had to have a license. You mean to tell me that you could drive a car and go 170 miles per hour on the freeway in Orange county, but you can't buy a cough drop? What the fuck is that? I hate to point out the hypocrisy, but I don't think you should be able to buy a car and get behind the wheel. But you can't buy a cough drop for your scratchy throat, for an allergy or a minor cold? Like, what the fuck is going on? We need to get our priorities straight. So if you mean to tell me that a 17 year old cannot buy a cough drop at the store, then they definitely shouldn't be behind the wheel of a car. And so maybe we should fix this. I mean, that young woman's. She's got to wait until she could serve our country in the military before she can buy a cough drop. I feel like everything's backwards. And then they can't even have a cocktail until three more years later. You got to be 21 to have a cocktail. What the fuck is going on? Everything's fucking mess. It's a mess.

Oh, I'm supposed to be positive again. I'm sorry. Okay, so then what else? I do love my Carmelo. Seems like a great. Like, she seems like a great housewife. It just feels very fakey to me. Let's see Emily and then we see Emily and Jen. We see Emily and Jen and they're going through Jen's closet. It felt like Vicky, you know, when Vicky goes to sleep, she's like, that's how I feel watching Emily and Jen go through Jen's closet. I know. I'm so sweet. Positive. It was funny to me when they were going through Ryan's part of the closet because they were just. They were just finding things. And Emily was like, what is this? This looks like a doily or this looks like a. An old lady design. But I was just. Shh. I also didn't know that Jen had a cat named Johnny J. Johnny J. You remember Johnny J from Alexis? They got married. I can't believe Alexis and Johnny J. Got married and we didn't even see it. We didn't see it on. I don't know what's gonna happen with them. They got married. They did it. Let's take one more break here and we're gonna come back and talk more about this closet and the scene with, oh, we got a teddy appearance. And it seems like she's. She's doing better. But let's take a break and we'll come right back. This episode is sponsored by Nature Raised Farms. They've got over 4,500 party supplies, more than 60 different themes, and prices starting at just 99 cents. Plus they've recently lowered prices on hundreds of items. We found adorable decorations, balloons, everything we needed to pull the party together without making a bunch of different shopping trips. Plus, I always have a good time going to Michael's. I love shopping there. I could just browse the aisles forever. But if you're short on time like I always seem to be, you can also get same day delivery or buy online and pick up at the store. They even offer free helium inflation on select balloon styles, which is such a lifesaver. And it was for our party, truly. So if you got a birthday coming up or just a celebration, remember Michaels everything. To celebrate anything, visit Michaels in store or shop online. Now imagine you finally have a free day. And we're back. Like, I'm pissed. All right, so they're going through the closet. Ryan's in the same closet, and I would like to know where he shops exactly. Maybe they've told us. Do you think he buys all his clothes online? Didn't he say something about how he gets them all tailored? But then you're like, why are you tailoring that stuff? Not that I'm a fashion nova fashionista, but, like, I still feel like I wonder where Ryan's buying all this stuff because it's a lot. That's for the eye. Even when they were shopping in that plant shop, I don't even know what the fuck they were talking about because Jen was wearing that hat, and it had. It was like the font. You know, when they do a phrase on something, but they take out the vowels? It drives me nuts. So I. I think it. It might have said, like, sexy or something, but it just said S X, Y. Like, there's no e. It was something like that. It wasn't that, but it was like something like that. And it was a camo print. And it's like, can we just put the vowels back in and fit it on the hat? If you're going to do the word art on the hat. But, like, what's this trend about taking out the vowels anyway? So I don't understand exactly where they shop, but I'd like to know. I'd like to know where they're. Besides the plant shop, I want to know where was Ryan buying those clothes? And maybe it is online or, like, Etsy or something. Maybe he's got like. Have you ever met someone who's got, like, an Etsy seller that they're obsessed with? I've had that before. When I was getting the son's nursery ready, there was this one Etsy seller who don't even ask me where it is, because I don't think it exists anymore. I remember trying to buy. I was like, trying to buy a plush stuffed animal, but I bought, like, a basket and I bought a plush stuffed animal owl. And they made, like, homemade stuff. And then I think I went to buy a gift with. And my son was a few months old and the Etsy shop was shut down. But it was like, I felt, like, very loyal to this Etsy seller. And I was just, like, buying all sorts of stuff. And I wonder if maybe Ryan's like that, where he hops on Etsy to buy his clothes and he found a seller and it just starts going, ham. I just went to this museum. It's not a museum. It's sort of like a museum esque. And they have this little gift shop. It's on Ventura Boulevard here in Los Angeles. And it's like a. They have a lot of cartoon art prints. And then they have this little section where they sell sort of, like, thrifted stuff. So they had Aladdin on VHS in, like, this collector's edition. Or they'll have sometimes old Rocky and Bullwinkle ornaments or. Gosh, I don't even know if I'm explaining this properly, but they have a lot of, like, old toys and. Oh, they had the Flintstones mugs from McDonald's. Remember when the Flintstones movie came out in the early 90s, and McDonald's had mugs that you could buy for, like, $1.99 with a meal? They used to do stuff like that. And they had Flintstones ones. And they had them at this place in the little shop. And I almost bought them. I stopped myself because I was like, matt, I'll get so mad at me if I come home with, like, Flintstones glassware. That we.
C
It took.
B
You guys don't even know. It took everything in me not to buy the Flintstones glassware the other day at this place because it was only like $5 each, which, if you were to go on ebay or Etsy, they'd be much more expensive. I know that because I've looked. But I really had to stop myself because despite the fact that they were very low priced, very reasonably priced, it's right by the Barnes and Noble bookstore. I don't know the name of this place. It's like a museum shop, but it's by the Bookstar in Studio City. Anyway, that's not the point. The point is I had to stop myself from buying the Flintstones glassware from McDonald's early 90s because I knew I'd get home and my husband would be like, what the fuck is this? And I can't even justify it because it's not the kind of size mug that I like. I like something over 14 ounces. It needs to. I prefer like a 16 ounce mug or more. 22 ounce. Great. I want it to be like a soup bowl for my coffee mugs or my drinkware. So this, these are smaller size. I would guess they're like 12 ounces, maybe even 10. 10 to 12. And so my husband knows that I wouldn't actually drink out of it. And I can't even justify it to give it to my son because even though he's getting off the bottle, I still wouldn't feel comfortable giving him something from the 90s because it probably has lead in it. You know, I'm scared of the lead and I don't know what lead is in. I know sometimes people will tag me in those posts on social media where it's like, look at all the lead at home goods. And it's like, I don't really understand how the lead works, but I do feel like stuff from the 90s he shouldn't be putting in his mouth at the bare minimum anyway. What were you talking about? I don't know. Nothing's going on in this show. Okay, so. Oh, Jen and Hip, they sit down and talk about their kids. And Jen says that her son Grayson is shut down after the ticket, which again, I said good, like he should, just to learn the lesson. I don't want him to shut down forever, but to learn the lesson maybe. And then Emily talks about her connection with her daughter Annabelle because they lost a connection because she was busy dealing with the Luke stuff last season. Meanwhile, we cut to Teddy's house and she's been sick. And we know that her and Tam are good friends. I love her and I think her short hair looks really beautiful and she looks great and I'm happy. It seems like she's doing well and she's a fighter, so she's. My heart goes out to her and I hope. I don't know when this was filmed, but hopefully she's doing good in real time. But this also would make more sense as a scene on the Real Houses of Beverly Hills. And she mentioned she doesn't have the same fire. But I was thinking like, if you don't really watch these shows carefully, you know how some people just put them on in the background while they fold laundry or a lot of people will just watch the show. They don't follow, like, the podcast or they don't follow the social media. I meet them all the time in real life because sometimes people ask what I do and I talk about the podcast, and they're like, oh, I didn't even know there were Bravo podcasts or there were, you know, this whole other offshoot of stuff. A lot of people will just watch the show, and even more than that, a lot of them just will watch one. Maybe they got hooked on Beverly Hills or they got hooked on Orange county. And I think actually a majority of the viewing audience. So I always get. I always wonder, do those people understand? Like, they don't really know Teddy. I don't believe Teddy's really appeared much on Orange County Housewives. Obviously, she was a cast member in Beverly Hills. So I was thinking that would. This would make more sense if, like, Tamara visited Beverly Hills and we got an update with Teddy. But on. On Orange County, I was like, does this even make sense to most people or are they just confused? But I'm happy she's doing well. It seems like they're good friends and they got the successful podcast. Two T's. Two T's. Then we cut to the bistro with Gina and Travis. Gina again looks great. The hair and makeup and the clothes all look fantastic. They get the all you can eat muscles. They talk about Carmella being in development in real estate or whatever, and they talk about their prenup. I think the Carmella thing that's brewing, it seems like that's the only major feud is going to be Carmela versus basically everybody. Because I'm not seeing any other fireworks or dynamics. Maybe a little Heather and Jen or something. But even in the previews, in the trailer, I'm like, who's fighting whom? Whomst. I guess everybody versus Carmela is going to be ultimately what this whole season leads to. And I don't like Orange County. Feels like they always do that. It's like they gang up on the new person. Then the new person gets fired. It's like, what are we doing? We're just spinning in circles. Then we cut to Heather looking through her junk, I guess. And then it immediately goes away from that. What was that? It was like a quick little segue where Heather was just looking through an old bin. I'm like, what are we. What is Heather? Not that I don't want to look through Heather's bins. I'm sure she's got some interesting stuff in the attic. But, like, I didn't understand that then. Carmela's place in Corona del Mar, which feels again, like a set. A set. She didn't know how, like, the vacuum worked. And I was like, I don't think that's her real vacuum. I feel like production just handed her a vacuum. They're like, you try to use this Dyson in this fake apartment. And then she tried to do it and it didn't work. I'm like, I don't even know that she lives here again. Maybe that's a completely. I don't know anything. I could be making this up and somebody could reach out to me. Carmela could reach out tomorrow and be like, danny, don't you fucking know that I live in that house? I just keep it clean, you know? And I don't want her to yell at me because she's my Ohio sister. So I hate to plant seeds of doubt, but like Meryl Streep in the movie doubt. I have my doubts. I have my doubts. What else we got? Jen and Grayson, they sit down. She asks if he's okay. And he says he's been. It's been hard. And he says things have been hard and the ticket didn't help. And it's like, well, okay. But I feel like we're acting like this ticket happened to him. That's the thing that's driving me most nuts because he says he's missing his dad. But then Jen and the dad broke up a long time ago. And again, I know he's 17, so I hate to even criticize a teen. A kid. He's technically a kid. And Jen is blaming herself. And I feel like they're using this to gain sympathy after he drove 100 plus miles per hour on the freeway or wherever he was. Am. I know I'm being. I'm being a little. I'm being a little maybe uptight or. I know I'm being uptight about this. This ticket that he got. Or I'm being a little. What's the word I'm looking for? I'm going a little too hard about the ticket. I know that, you guys, I know that. But something I don't like about it, I just don't like about it. He says people are being mean to him. And I do feel bad about that. He says, the kids. I don't know if it's the kids in school or who's being mean to him. Somebody's being mean to him. And then Jen starts apologizing to him. This is where I really lost it. I'm like, why are you apologizing for Getting mad at him about his ticket. Like, what the fuck? I felt like I was in. I was going nuts, like I was in the twilight zone. Like, how is your mom apologizing to you about the 105 mile per hour ticket you got? Like that. What? What? And I think these are two separate issues. Like, I can feel empathy about him not having the relationship with his dad and be mad about the ticket. And I feel like Jen's making them mutually exclusive and they're not. They should be separate things, right? And I don't want to tell anyone how to parent. And she's doing her best. She's got a bunch of kids and. And she's doing the best she can, apparently. But just as an outsider looking in, as they're presenting us this information on a camera, I thought, like, maybe you shouldn't apologize to him for getting so mad about his ticket because you shouldn't be mad about the ticket. And we could still want him to have a better relationship with the dad or not to have the kids be mean to him or whatever. And we want the best for him. We want him to grow and learn from this situation. But also, as a parent, I think you can be mad at him, right? I don't know. What do I know? I don't have a teenager. So check back in in 15 years. And my son is driving a car and I'm trying to parent. So we don't know. We don't know how it'll be. But right now I can only judge based off what I see on screen. And I'm judging. I'm seeing something. I'm saying something. Okay, so then we get to the Quiet Woman spark, which is a spark of yesteryear seeing the Quiet Woman. Because I'm not. Not. I'm not feeling the same spark that I always felt going to the Quiet Woman. Now I feel like we've been there a hundred times. And it's much like, to me at least, like the Bunny. Do you know what I'm saying? With the Bunny on real houses, Beverly Hills, how they. They love to lean into that bunny. They love to bring out the Bunny. Talk about the Bunny show. Flashback to the Bunny. Every Easter on the social media accounts, everyone's posting the bunny and it's like, oh, again, I get it. Like, it was a funny bit for a six months after it happened and now enough. And that's how I feel about the Quiet Woman. It's like they're leaning into it too much. Let's make some new Quiet Woman. Let's Go have a fight somewhere else. But they. Every minute they're at the Quiet Woman, I feel like, aren't they? They go there on the ultimate girls trip that's upcoming. They're going every season on this. I don't know. I hate to come. I'm complaining about that. I do love, you know, I do love what the Quiet Woman has given us. So I need to be. Maybe I need to turn my opinion around. I do. I'm being too negative. I get it. I am. But the Trace amigos meet. They sit in awkward silence for a while. Like they're all just waiting for someone to speak. Just sitting there, waiting, waiting, waiting. Someone's like, who's gonna talk? And I'm like, you're all TV stars. Somebody speak. You're a TV star. Wake it up. Vicky, Tamaran, Shannon, you're the longest running running ones on the show. Like, somebody wake up and do something. They had to put the. The music behind him because none of them were talking. And then they discussed. Shannon went on her Instagram live or something, talked shit about Tamara. Then Shannon brings up Emily and the I Heart thing. No, no, no, no. Enough. I don't even want to hear the word I heart on here anymore. God bless. I heart. But we can't talk about podcasts on these shows. I don't want to hear about podcasts or bloggers. Enough. No, no, no, no, no. I'm sorry to keep saying that, but I feel like they're not listening to us, and so we have to get Stern. Maybe that's it. Maybe it's on us, the audience, to get stern with them and say, we don't want bloggers or podcasts to be discussed on these shows because that's not what these shows. Real Housewives of Orange County, Actual real houses of Orange County. They don't all have a. A podcast with iHeart. So this is not relatable to us. And I'm someone who has a podcast not with iHeart, but I have a podcast with the wonderful people at acast. We love our Acast anyway. We do not want to see it on these shows. Enough. No, no. Edit it out. Edit it out. You might talk about it on screen. And obviously we can't control what the cast members are gonna discuss. I know production can't say, oh, Tamara, don't discuss that. Or Emily Hip, don't bring up Iheart or Shannon, don't bring up the word podcast. I know they can't do that, but they can edit it. Edit it out. Give us something else. Edit it out. Okay, Sorry. I had to get stern because I feel like they're. They keep delivering us blogger podcast nonsense and we don't want it. Stop it. Edit it out. Edit it out. If you put together the episode. And by the way, I know these episodes go through the ringer. They go through all sorts of producers and stuff, and one of the producers, they get a cut of the episode. Can't somebody write a note and say, edit that out before it goes to air? I know Andy's watching these episodes. He must know that we hate to see this shit. So edit is. So Andy needs to write a little note on a post it or something and slip it to the editor and say, edit this out. Okay, I'm sorry to get mean. We love the Bravo and the priests. They do such a great job and I always hate when I have to get critical of them. But also, I feel like we need to sometimes because otherwise they keep giving us these podcast dramas and blogger dramas. And they're bringing on the wonderful Kiki Monique. Remember last season they brought Kiki Monique on and we love Kiki Monique, but not on these shows. And then we're talking, we're like wondering what's going on. And it's like all stuff happening off camera with podcasts, and it doesn't even feel like interesting or real. And I know that's their real lives, but we don't want to see it. We should have learned this by now. Edit it out. Okay, I'm sorry. That's enough. I've gone on and on about that thing, but Tamara says Shannon and Emily are holding on every little thing, and Vicky's just there. I just want them together like the old days. The Tres Amicus stay. I just want you guys to get along. The old days? What happened to the Trace Amigos days? One day we're all gonna die. You know, Vicki. Vicki's the only thing actually making me laugh this season so far. But they agree to move forward, have a fun and a laugh. They have to walk out after making up. They're walking Vicki out. I rather Vicki's in heels and she could barely walk. She's got the injury. But they take a group pick and the episode ends. Next time, we get Vicki's son. Oh, I'm excited for Vicki's son to show up. Up. Michael. I like Michael. And then there's more about the Carmela bag thing. Heather versus Jan and Emily. It seems like we got an all cast event next week, so hopefully that'll spice things up a little bit. Maybe it and, you know, look, devil's advocate, we're only three episodes in, and maybe they want us to get used to a slower pace. And by the way, one of the things that I found interesting about this season of the Valley, which it seems like most people are hating. So maybe this is a bad example. What I'm about to say, maybe is a bad example because it seems like, by and large, the audience is fully rejecting the season of the Valley. But I, for one, feel like it started really snoozy and they kept planting the seeds. And it's like it's picked up steam as it's gone. Like, a steady amount of steam to me. To me, obviously, not to the wider audience, but to me, it feels like it's just been a slow build of a season, which isn't always a bad thing. And sometimes I like that with the seasons where you think it's gonna be bad and then it, like, just gets better and then a little better, and then almost to the point where you're like, wait a minute. By the end, you're like, I kind of like this. I didn't think I liked this season at the beginning. And then now I'm looking back and I'm like, it's actually pretty good. Like, there. It's a slow build. So maybe. Maybe they're doing a slow build with Orange County. Maybe it's like, oh, yeah, let's plant the seeds. They're planting the seeds of the Carmella and Gina real estate drama, or they're planting the seeds of Heather and Jen. Or maybe the Trace amigos are going to get back together and they're planting the seeds of, like, them versus everybody else. Or I don't know what it is, but maybe they're just planting the seeds and we have to be more patient and watch them grow. Who's to say? And, you know, I don't have a green thumb. I'm not good at watching stuff to grow. Although I do have this fantasy about growing. Have I told you about the garden? I want to have a garden. I just would love to have a garden. It's my fantasy. I don't want to necessarily fully take care of the garden. There's this one woman, I found out that TikTok. She's grown a pumpkin patch. She's like a gardener. I wish I. Maybe I should find her name, but she's grown a pumpkin patch, and she really dedicates her whole existence to this gardening situation. And I just. Yeah, I would like to. Oh, her name's. I found her I'm looking her up right now. Sprouts and Stories. Wait, where is she at? I think that's her name. Sprouts and Stories. Sproutsandstories. Oh, okay. So go find her on TikTok. She is building a pumpkin patch. She's in Massachusetts, and she's a gardener. And she takes such good care of this thing. And the pumpkins are starting to come in, and so she gives these updates, but she'll literally go in there and she'll have to take the little. If there's like a little flea or a tick or something on one of the plants. She's like, okay, this is. And she'll explain what it is. She'd be like, I gotta remove it from all these. And then she's got to protect the pumpkins. And not only does it look so beautiful and cozy, like I want there to be a rom com about this gardening woman, and it also makes me want a garden. But it's so much work and she keeps it pristine. Like, you look at this thing. Sprouts and Stories. You will look at her pumpkin patch in her garden and you'll be like, God, it looks so pristine. And I know that I couldn't do that. But I do have this dream of like having a big ass garden. And then in the summertime, get my pumpkins ready so that in the fall I can grow my own pumpkins in my patch and then go out there like I always would love to. Growing up, we had a little. What do you call a little garden growing up. And we didn't have a lot of stuff, but sometimes some summers we'd have cucumbers or strawberries and my mom would give us the colander or bag and say, go pick the peppers, the banana peppers or whatever. Back in Ohio, it was my favorite thing. And then for dinner she'd say, go pick the corn on the cob or go pick the. The banana peppers that are ready. And then she'd make dinner with the stuff and it was like the best thing ever. You'd be like, oh, my God, I just picked those. And as a kid, I felt such a sense of accomplishment. Or with the strawberries, she'd. She'd wash them and then she would get some chocolate, melt some chocolate, and we'd make chocolate covered strawberries. And I was like, oh, my God, I'm making that. So anyway, I have this fantasy of building a garden, but you do have to. How did I get to gardens? You have to water. You have to be patient. You have to do and A lot of times we're not patient, so maybe that's a lesson for our shows. It's like you have to be patient, like you're growing a garden. It's going to take some time for it to bloom or to grow, but maybe we'll feel a sense of relief and accomplishment and pride when it does. And that's maybe a larger metaphor for Bravo, too, because sometimes we go through these bad seasons, and I always say sometimes you got to get through the bad season to get to the good season. So maybe this is also a time of growth for the show and it's a bad season. And then next season will be a good season because we'll plant all the seeds. Now, I don't know. We got to stick through the shows. If you're committed to Bravo, you got to commit to the shows whether they're good or bad. But I am gonna complain if they're bad. In this episode of Everything Iconic, host Danny Pellegrino delivers a passionate, often exasperated recap of the latest Real Housewives of Orange County (RHOC) episode. He dives into the slow pacing of season 20, the lack of engaging storylines, and his hopes for more drama or genuine humor. Throughout, Danny keeps his signature witty, candid commentary, calling out fake feuds, lack of excitement, and absurd production choices, while highlighting standout moments and characters (mainly Vicki). The recap is peppered with pop culture digressions, nostalgic references, and unfiltered opinions about Housewives history, Bravo production, and reality TV tropes.
"In the words of Shannon Storms Beador, I am pissed. I am pissed. I didn’t even pull a clip from this week’s episode ... what clip would I have pulled? ... I want to go forth and talk about all the things that I loved on these shows ... But we are three episodes in and something better happen because I’m sitting here waiting." [03:18]
"We brought Vicki back, gave her back the orange, and honestly, Vicki’s the thing that’s working the best for me for this show right now. But ... I’m watching these episodes and I’m waiting. You hear me, Bravo? I’m waiting for something to happen." [04:35]
"If we’re not getting a whole lot of funniness, then we need some drama. Like, we need something. Do you see what I’m saying? ... I mean, like, laughing at them, not with them. Does that make sense?" [07:29]
"Stop trying to make Sophia happen. ... I don’t have a connection to her." [09:38]
"The best thing about Safiya was when she was moving in the new apartment, she put that Victorian picture up. ... You know, I’ve been going to the stores lately and it does feel like they’re doing a lot of AI photos." [10:18]
"I don’t know how this man keeps showing up because I’ve never liked him, not once ... Didn’t it look like there was Vaseline on the camera? Like, did they just slather on Vaseline?" [12:18]
"I don’t want to hear one thing about the fucking I Heart drama. Or how Tamra said she wasn’t getting letting Emily get invited to the IHeart events." [13:45]
"Tamra’s just call. I would never even think to do that ... I would never think to call an employer and be like, hey, do not hire that person." [15:34]
"None of it feels any sense of reality to me because I don’t think they actually like each other." [16:24]
"You need some tough love, Mr. Grayson. ... there’s no excuse for going 100 and whatever miles per hour." [19:32]
"They’re really trying to bore us when they just show us Heather plating three pickles." [21:17]
"What’s the bit? I didn’t even understand what the bit was. ... And apparently Carmilla had to order like seven vibrators to see which would fit in the Dior bag because she was being silly. What?" [22:39]
"Vicki said, I'd get up, but I'm not. And then I felt that. ... Hell must have frozen over for Vicki to be saying that Gina's just like her."
"We can’t talk about podcasts on these shows. ... Edit it out!" [52:25]
Danny closes by reiterating his mixed feelings:
For those who haven’t listened, this episode is a masterclass in Housewives analysis, offering both a critique and a celebration of Bravo culture—with deep affection and well-justified side-eye to the Orange County franchise.
