Extreme honor Romania Valeru Gafencu Day 204 do not judge others, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn others, or it will all come back against you. Forgive others and you will be forgiven. Luke 6:37 Valeru Gefenku and his family had lost their father and had suffered greatly at the hands of Communist torturers. Yet he had nothing bad to say about the Communists who had brought so much pain to his family. How could he put up with so much and not speak out against his torturers? He answers, when King David was in a bad predicament, Shimei threw stones at him, cursed him, and accused him of crimes he didn't commit. 2nd Samuel chapter 16 one of David's soldiers was ready to kill Shimei, but David stopped him. He let Shimei curse, for the Lord had ordered him. David knew himself to be innocent of what Shimei accused him of, but he also recognized that he was guilty of other sins, of which Shimei knew nothing. The Communists call us bandits and enemies of the people, which we're not. But we all are guilty of not being exemplary saints, growing more like Christ. Our reply to the Communists misdeeds should not be hatred but inner renewal. Beams of holiness gushing from us will destroy the evil. Gafenku's witness in prison brought many to Christ, and until the day he died, he refused to say one bad word against those who had caused him pain. Does an enemy deserve to be honored? Perhaps it is difficult to think along those lines. We can learn, however, from our persecuted brothers and sisters, that God can use even our enemies to bring us closer to God. In that sense, we can honor the.

Role our enemies play in our lives.
Valeru Gafencu
If we revile our enemies, we may be showing contempt for God's greater plan. If you are busy cursing your enemies.
Narrator
For the way they treat you, stop and think why God has allowed the situation in your life. Are you making it easier or harder for God to teach you something through this? If so, you'll surely face it again until you learn.

Extreme Devotion: Day 204 – Extreme Honor
Released on July 23, 2025 by The Voice of The Martyrs
In the Day 204: Extreme Honor episode of Extreme Devotion, hosted by The Voice of The Martyrs, Valeru Gafencu shares a profound testimony of unwavering faith and forgiveness amidst severe persecution. This episode delves into the themes of judgment, forgiveness, and the transformative power of inner renewal in the face of adversity.
Valeru begins by invoking a powerful biblical principle:
“Do not judge others, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn others, or it will all come back against you. Forgive others and you will be forgiven.”
— Valeru Gafencu [00:06]
He reflects on his personal tragedy, having lost his father and endured immense suffering at the hands of Communist torturers. Despite the pain inflicted upon his family, Valeru astonishingly refrains from harboring resentment or speaking ill of his persecutors. Instead, he embodies forgiveness, illustrating the depth of his faith and resilience.
To elucidate his stance, Valeru draws a parallel with a biblical narrative:
“When King David was in a bad predicament, Shimei threw stones at him, cursed him, and accused him of crimes he didn't commit. ... David knew himself to be innocent of what Shimei accused him of, but he also recognized that he was guilty of other sins, of which Shimei knew nothing.”
— Valeru Gafencu [00:45]
He recounts how King David chose not to retaliate against Shimei’s baseless accusations, understanding that vengeance was not God's will. This example serves to reinforce Valeru’s approach to his own suffering.
Valeru emphasizes that combating the misdeeds of the Communists—or any adversaries—does not lie in hatred but in personal transformation:
“Our reply to the Communists misdeeds should not be hatred but inner renewal. Beams of holiness gushing from us will destroy the evil.”
— Valeru Gafencu [01:30]
He advocates for Christians to grow more like Christ, suggesting that their sanctity and moral integrity can be a potent weapon against oppression and evil.
Throughout his imprisonment, Valeru’s steadfast faith serves as a beacon to others:
“Gafenku's witness in prison brought many to Christ, and until the day he died, he refused to say one bad word against those who had caused him pain.”
— Valeru Gafencu [01:50]
His refusal to speak ill of his torturers not only exemplifies personal integrity but also acts as a testimony that attracts others to his faith.
Valeru challenges listeners to consider the role of their enemies in their spiritual journey:
“If we revile our enemies, we may be showing contempt for God's greater plan. ... Perhaps it is difficult to think along those lines. We can learn, however, from our persecuted brothers and sisters, that God can use even our enemies to bring us closer to God.”
— Valeru Gafencu [02:10]
He posits that enemies can play a crucial role in one’s spiritual growth, serving as instruments through which God teaches and refines believers.
Extending the conversation, Valeru encourages introspection when faced with adversity:
“Stop and think why God has allowed the situation in your life. Are you making it easier or harder for God to teach you something through this? If so, you'll surely face it again until you learn.”
— Valeru Gafencu [02:20]
This reflection underscores the belief that challenges are opportunities for spiritual development and closer alignment with divine will.
Valeru Gafencu’s testimony in Extreme Devotion: Day 204 – Extreme Honor offers a compelling narrative of grace under persecution. His emphasis on forgiveness, inner renewal, and understanding the broader divine purpose behind suffering provides profound insights for believers facing similar trials.
