Originally from Australia, Evan spent his early twenties immersed in electronic music production before trading studio gear for a one-way ticket to New York City, where he built a successful career as an investment banker advising companies across a wide range of industries. Alongside his professional career, he became deeply fascinated by the complex social dynamics, relationships, ambition, and emotional contradictions that shape life in New York.

That world would eventually inspire his debut novel Vesper — a work described as Sex and the City reimagined through the philosophical lens of Milan Kundera. His writing blends literary fiction, romance, identity, ambition, desire, and existential reflection into stories that explore the deeper dimensions of the human condition.

For the past decade, Evan has immersed himself in the kaleidoscope of stories that define modern dating culture, social identity, love, longing, and personal transformation. He is currently at work on a second novel — a cerebral thriller examining the intersection of crime, free will, and determinism.

In this interview, we discuss writing, storytelling, finance, philosophy, modern relationships, literature, identity, New York culture, electronic music, creativity, ambition, artistic evolution, and the inspiration behind Vesper.
