Pour yourself a cold one and listen to the best College Football Picks Podcast Going the College Draft. Yeah, it's Daddy soda time here on the College Draft podcast and I am positively giddy because nobody works harder on the NFL draft year round than my guy, Emory Hunt. And it's definitely not too late to get his draft guide. We'll get into that in a little bit, but this is the first time that I'm getting a chance to speak with Emory after the draft. Now, as a reminder, nobody else does this that I'm aware of, but over the next two months, division by division, Emory and I are going to go through every team's draft, every pick, as well as the undrafted free agents that Emory likes. You know why? Because why would you put six months into the pre draft process but one episode into the post draft process when we know who these guys are playing for? Now we know what teams they're on. Look, there's a fantasy element with Emery talking about what he thinks from these skill guys on these teams and it's a great scheme fit to hear about those type of things now that we know where they actually landed. So get ready because the next eight episodes are going to be division by division going over the 2026 NFL Draft. Then we will spin it and dial it forward to the 2027 NFL Draft and start to preview some of the top prospects in the top conferences. Then of course, as you know, once we get into the season, Emory does very well. It's fun going over his bets for college football games during the season. Today's episode though is the macro. The the draft in general. Things that we took away, things that jumped out to Emory and look, Emory, I got a bunch of things to talk to you about. I I want to get your thoughts on what the Giants did. The Rams with Ty Simpson, obviously. The Jaguars I thought were fan fascinating. The Cardinals taking love number three overall and then Carson Beck later. There's a lot to get to. Was there something like what was your biggest thoughts in your head while you Were watching the draft this past weekend. Like, what, what really jumped out to you? Anything.

What really jumped out to me, Ross. And I tweeted out this take that the draft is super dope because I felt like everybody was doing a very good job. There's a lot of good players in college football that we saw get drafted. And again, you talk about a draft guy that has over 1200 individual scouting reports, but for the draft, we're focusing on 257 players. And I felt like as I'm watching the picks roll through, I'm like, damn, that's a good pick. Damn, that's a good pick. Dang, That's a good player. Dang. He gonna fit nice there. Like, I blown away at how good teams are drafting. And case in point, the Cleveland Browns, right? The Cleveland Browns draft look like one of these mock draft simulators where you get all these great players. You know, there's like, oh, this is not gonna be realistic. You know, there's no way I could get, you know, Denzel Boston and also Casey Concepcion and also Emmanuel McNeil Warren. Like, there's no this, this throw, this, this. This is unreal, right? But it actually happened. And then you look at, at how teams, you know, did really. Which also dispelled the myth that there's not enough talent in this class. I felt like people the fly in February, folks that kind of fly in for draft season and don't really watch college football all throughout the year, pooh, pooh on, you know, day three and say, well, you know, this is because of Nil, or everybody's going back to school. Like, bro, day three alone has so many good players getting taken. And I just thought that this was just another year where we're saying, like, man, there's so many good players and talented players out there that's getting drafted.
