Fashion trends aren't always easy to predict, but brands aren't exactly flying blind either. By the time a trend looks obvious, wholesale usually has been signaling it for a while. Wholesale often shows you demand before DTC does. You see it in what buyers order,

what gets reordered, which regions heat up,

and which categories quietly start moving. And when brands work with major retailers, they're not just getting distribution. They're gaining another layer of intelligence from retailers that already have their own market research and audience insights. And those signals don't come from just big accounts. Specialty stores often surface the earliest clues well before the rest of the market catches on. New Order by Lightspeed sits close to

Greece because who isn't in Greece right now? Dora Fung, welcome to Fashion People.
Dora Fung
Hello, Lauren Sherman, Very glad to be in Fashion People.
Lauren Sherman
Long time coming. Ultimate fashion person.
Dora Fung
Oh, I don't know about that. Let me write you that check afterwards.
Lauren Sherman
So one of the things I wanted to talk to you about, it's a little late for this, but you are the thing that I've been so I've known you for a long time. But the thing I've been so impressed since you became editor in chief of 10 in the US is your ability to, like, you do. Great editorial. You really love.
Dora Fung
Thank you.
Lauren Sherman
You love fashion. You also understand, like the modern editor's role. And I feel like you really pound the pavement with brands and develop those relationships in a way that I don't know many other editors who do. And it's super genuine. One of the things that you do that I love is that you there are these high jewelry press trips that very few people get invited on.
Dora Fung
Yes. And I'm very lucky you go on them.
Lauren Sherman
And this is a thing like, I mean, most of the people listening to this work in the industry are adjacent. But I got an email on Friday from someone who listened to the Michael Grimbaum episode who's just like a big fan of magazines. But the thing that I've always found interesting, I mean, there are a million things, but high jewelry jewelry, those spreads in magazines are some of the most profitable and also the hardest to kind of get right because it's hard to be creative, just like putting a necklace on someone or whatever. So I always look at those. And you have worked really hard to develop those relationships. And part of that process leading up to a shoot is going on these high jewelry press trips.
Dora Fung
Yeah.
Lauren Sherman
What did you do this summer? What did you go on?
Dora Fung
Shall I tell you?
Lauren Sherman
What was it like? Please.
Dora Fung
I started in Venice with Dior and we, I mean, these things are so out of the world. And, you know, these Trips are some people's trip of a lifetime. And you know, we do two or three of them a season. So that in itself is so mind boggling to me. I mean, if you said to 16 year old me this is what you'd be doing for a living, I'd be like, what crack are you smoking? Who has a job like that? Did you just make that up? But yeah, I started in Venice with Dior. And what happens is they treat you almost like you're the client. I always think that we're the guinea pigs. So there's no one more entitled and more brattish than editor who goes on these trips. And suddenly my room's not ready. It's like 11 o' clock and it's like, oh my God, they didn't get us a spa appointment. But jewelry trips are very, very special because you go, you know, you get picked up, you get on the most exquisite flight and you know, you choose the flight that you want to go on and you know, you're, you get there very comfortably to these insane locations, stay at this incredible hotel and then you are given, you know, the seat on a table where you see firsthand these very, very select group of people in the world that gets to see this and buy it. But you know, we.
Lauren Sherman
So you're with the clients too, right?
Dora Fung
Not all the time.
Lauren Sherman
Okay.
Dora Fung
Yeah, because we always, I think, you know, with some brands, they like to have us come a week before and then the clients will come the following week.
Lauren Sherman
Okay, nice. Yeah, I went to the Hermes High jewelry dinner. High costume jewelry, right, they call it.
Dora Fung
Yeah, it's probably still a mill.
Lauren Sherman
There's stuff that's like a Mill 5 or whatever. Yeah, but it was a, it was a mix. There were lots of clients. So you went to Dior in Venice. Did you go to, did they take you to like the Biennale and all that too?
Animal Rescue Announcer
Or.
Dora Fung
So we had the, you know, you have a whole day of cultural offerings. So you really do get to see, you know, what happens in that city. So it was during the Biennale, so we did that and then we went to the Dries Foundation. You are served the most incredible meal at a surrounding that sometimes you will never ever get access to. You know, you would been to, you know, even Tiffany. Tiffany now has their high jewelry in New York because they have that beautiful store that they renovated and you know, we have, you know, I've had dinner inside the Met and this time it was in the Armory. And then they transformed it into a magic garden. It was incredible. And then just when you thought it couldn't get any better. Mariah Carey comes out and perform. That was a mix with clients.
Lauren Sherman
Oh, my God.
Dora Fung
No, it was literally, I think, three years ago.
Lauren Sherman
Like, usually I don't care at all about the musical performance. No matter how fun. I'm like, I have to leave. But Mariah Carey, I would die.
Dora Fung
And it was like 350 people. It was like she was doing a special concert for, you know, it was just so special. And, you know, with these trips and these kind of events. Yeah, you really do get so spoiled. And you see and you have to. Because it's luxury. And certain brands, they really go out and they, you know, they really understand the concept of it. And then so by the time the client gets there, it is perfection. You know, Chanel, when we did it with. When I went to Kyoto with them, it was unbelievable. There was not one thing that they hadn't thought of in. Every meal was carefully curated. Every event was carefully curated. Started with Venice, and then. Where else did I go to Venice? And then I went to Van Cleef.
Lauren Sherman
A boat with Chanel.
Narrator/Host
Or was that last summer?
Dora Fung
No, Chanel was. Was there a boat? I can't remember. No, there wasn't a boat. I saw you on a boat at Kyoto. I was in a gondola, probably.
Lauren Sherman
That's true. It probably was Dior Gondola.
Dora Fung
Yeah. And then I went to Paris and then Vienna with Van Cleef.
Narrator/Host
Amazing.
Dora Fung
Yeah. And that was spectacular because it was at. We went to Paris to see the fascinating Egypt. That whole collection. They didn't do a high jewelry last year.
Lauren Sherman
It's amazing, this collection. It was gorgeous. I went to see it.
Dora Fung
It blew my mind how good it was. And they. It took two years for it to, you know, for them to design each piece. And it was so special. So we went to Paris and then we flew on, you know, a private plane to Vienna to have dinner and then to see sort of like the most incredible, you know, archival pieces from Van Cleef. And the archive collection is, again, mind blowing.
Lauren Sherman
When I went to see it, they
Narrator/Host
had already sold, like, most of it.
Dora Fung
Yeah, that's.
Lauren Sherman
Which is amazing. Like. But, yeah, I mean, this is the thing.
Narrator/Host
Not all.
Lauren Sherman
Every single thing is over a million, but a lot of pieces. There was like 10. A $10 million piece. So this is a huge. I mean, this is a huge growth business. Obviously Van Cleef and. And Cartier and. And Tiffany and Bulgari are all giant businesses. Extremely profitable. All these groups are putting a lot of investment into them. But also for Chanel and Dior and Vuitton. These are becoming bigger businesses. How do you. As a. Because you are.
Narrator/Host
You're an editor and a consumer.
Dora Fung
Yes.
Lauren Sherman
How do you kind of. Because that was the. I didn't go to that many. I went to Hermes and I went to Van Cleef during. Because they usually do presentations during couture. I went to Charlotte Cheney. Like, I went to some indie brands. I love Reposi. How do you sort of. Because it's very. At this point, you leave a fashion show, you know what you think. With the jewelry, I was a little more like, I don't know what I think about it yet. Like, I don't know. There was the Van Cleef immediately. I liked it. Yeah. But, you know, how do you. How do you judge it?
Dora Fung
There's some. That makes, you know, you have to really think about it. I think Boucheron's one of those brands. Claire, the creative director, she's, you know, she. Once a year is allowed to, you know, she's encouraged even to just go all out and just, you know, go beyond the imagination of just a bracelet or a necklace. And she uses the most incredible materials to create this collection. So it's not you. You don't look at it and suddenly go, oh, that's a beautiful bracelet with, like, beautiful diamonds and really nice emeralds, the stone they use. But she really makes you think about each piece so that there's an emotion to it. There's still something about it that especially when you go and see these incredible collections and the creative director or the team are there to actually talk you through and say, where did it come from? And, you know, from this one material they use works with special artisans that help them craft something that took a thousand hours, you know, however many hours it is. So that you do, there is an emotional connection rather than just you look at it and go, why am I not a billionaire? You know, there are, you know, when you see certain things, you're like, my God, that ring is insane. I can't even get on the subway. So what's fun having something like this? You can't get on the subway, but it's a very different world. But yet to see pieces on, you know, from brands that are, you know, there's some that you just make these incredible pieces. The craftsmanship, like you said, Van Cleave and Bulgari, they've been doing, you know, that workshops, been doing this for years. So the way they make a necklace or ring is so intricate. It's so special. And then you get other brands that are more experimental. So, you know, there's so many different types out there.
Narrator/Host
It's very exciting.
Dora Fung
Yeah. And then also, you know, you come, you know, it then trickles down to the bracelets that people buy and you know, with, yeah, for Cartier, the high jewelry is exquisite. And then, you know, nine times out of 10, we're all just wanted to buy the clue. You know, we all want the, the clash and that. I think it's still exciting.
Lauren Sherman
I, I agree. Van Cleef had a, I believe it was like embargoed until.
Dora Fung
Yeah, okay, no, we can't give that away. But yeah, that is very exciting. Sudden you look at the picture, very exciting. And you know, you look at it, you're like, oh, I know immediately who would want to buy that and who that belongs to.
Lauren Sherman
Yes. Watch this space. Actually watch Dora's Instagram.
Dora Fung
Please do.
Narrator/Host
Growth gets romanticized, control doesn't. And in fashion, control is usually what separates the brands that scale from the ones that stall. Because opening more doors is the easy part. Keeping pricing tight, assortments clean, inventory moving and retailer relationships strong as you grow.
Lauren Sherman
That's the real test.
Narrator/Host
From the $14 billion in orders processed annually for brands and retailers on New
Lauren Sherman
Order, they've seen it all.
Narrator/Host
Inventory lives in one place, orders in another, pricing somewhere else. And by the time a team reconciles
Lauren Sherman
all of it, the moment to act
Narrator/Host
on demand has already passed. What looks like back office friction on your site turns into something much more expensive on the retailer side. Slower responses, less confidence, smaller orders and missed reorders. New Order's latest research shows 40% of brands are focused on improving margins through better retailer negotiations. But no retailer is giving you better terms just because you ask nicely.
Lauren Sherman
In wholesale, leverage comes from walking into
Narrator/Host
the conversation with the right inventory, clear pricing and accurate product information. That's why New Order by Lightspeed exists for brands. It gives sales teams a B2B platform to present products visually, market catalogs and

line sheets, and manage orders in one place.
Narrator/Host
For retailers, it gives them a better way to plan, sort and manage their buys so both sides can move faster and grow without losing control. Learn more@neworder.com that's n U-O-R-E-R.com hey, it's Jen Hatmaker.

So big news of the week is on Friday, it was finally announced that the Met's next Costume Institute major exhibition is going to be John Galliano, which
Dora Fung
was long time waiting.
Lauren Sherman
Yeah, long time coming.
Dora Fung
Yeah.
Lauren Sherman
So that's next May. It'll be the theme of the Met Gala as well. I'm sure they'll have two different names for no reason, but it's going to be a retrospective of his work. And then the Met Gala, everybody will be wearing Galliano. Zara Galliano, Dior Galliano. Margielo. Margiela Galliano. Galliano. So what do you think about this? Obviously, there have been. The headlines have all been like, controversial designer, controversial designer, controversial designer in the fashion industry. The John Galliano controversy is 15 years old and has been like, we've all gone to therapy about it for many years. I'm curious what you think about him as a designer also being British and, like, the fact that he is one of the only designers to get a major retrospective single, just him and alive.
Dora Fung
You know, I think they had McQueen, but it was after he passed.
Lauren Sherman
Yes.
Dora Fung
Listen, I think it's going to be. As far as the exhibition goes, I think it's going to be incredible. It's going to be so amazing to be able to see. I don't know what was that, you know, his first collection when he graduated. I've never seen those clothes in real life, and to be able to see them is going to be incredible. And then also, you know, down to his red carpets, seeing all of those, visually, without doubt, it's going to be amazing. But at the same time, you know. Yeah, it's been 15 years since he said those horrific words. But, you know, we shouldn't forget that he did, and I don't think he does for a single day. And I think he's done so much work behind the scene. When we discussed it, you know, behind the scene, he has met with so many Jewish communities, he's put in the work, and he since then has kind of stayed out the limelight a little. And, you know, in the last few years, he's kind of, like, drawn back in a little, you know, a bit more and a bit more. And, you know, people are always going to remember the worst thing he ever did. But I think after this exhibition hopefully people are going to remember him as, yeah, he made a really horrible mistake when. At a really terrible time in his life. And then remember what a genius this man is. And not for nothing just him as a person. I think it'll be fascinating to see the interviews he's going to give and the way he describes what inspires him. Do you remember the documentary? He was like, this is the doll that I bought. We call her Auntie. I'm never not going to be fascinated by the way he describes anything.
Lauren Sherman
Yeah, look, I think that you can't. Can you separate the art from the artist? Blah, blah, blah. There's gonna be a lot of essays about this. I think it's actually really important to do this while he's alive and had to reckon with it. And anyone can watch the look that is the documentary, whatever, but the work that he did is real. Like that. Whatever you wanna say about how this was all orchestrated, the work that he has done is real. And he is also incredibly important to the fashion industry. So, like, let's confront it instead of sugarcoating it and just constantly writing about,
Dora Fung
you know, him being this monster in.
Lauren Sherman
Exactly.
Dora Fung
This person that did what he did and, you know, let him repay into the society. And then, you know, I think there was an article this weekend from the New York Times and, you know, the amount of Jewish leaders that came out and said that we met with him totally. And, you know, this is not. I don't think this decision came lightly. You know, they didn't just have dinner and go, oh, let's just do it.
Lauren Sherman
No, I thought it was supposed to be last year, like Chantal Fernandez, my old colleague and co author of my
Narrator/Host
book Selling Sexy Victoria's Secret, she wrote about this. This was in the works two or three years ago.
Lauren Sherman
And Dana Thomas, who wrote the book about Galliano and McQueen, have written about this. I think the question really is. And obviously Anna Wintour was. Is the reason he had. He.
Narrator/Host
He got the Margiela job.
Dora Fung
He.
Lauren Sherman
She campaigned to help work him back into the fashion system and rehabilitate him and give him. She supported him more than anyone else because she knew that she could.
Dora Fung
And he's too important to just disappear. We can't just, you know, you can't just ignore this person and his work. And to have someone like an animal in which you just constantly fight for you, I think that's amazing. And she is definitely someone I always feel she's not going to do. You know, she's some things that, you know, some decisions she makes. And I'm like, oh, you know, you do. Oh, I wonder why. But for this, I think it's incredible that she has gone out of way to champion him and say, let's have him answer these questions. Let's have him, you know, tell us exactly the collection behind this. And what I'd love to know once, you know, he. The few years afterwards, what's the first collection he worked on?
Lauren Sherman
Yeah.
Dora Fung
How has that changed him from then and now?
Lauren Sherman
Yeah, and she's a. She's fiercely loyal. I think the big question for me is less about. I mean, I can't wait to see this exhibit. Yeah, I'm excited for it. I am excited for the whole thing because I do believe. I believe in Andrew Bolton and believe that they will do what they need to do to make this right. I thought, you know, they did that big exhibition on Black Dandy style a couple of years ago, and it was sort of like when the woke backlash was really happening.
Jen Hatmaker
And they.
Lauren Sherman
I thought that that exhibit was the best that they had done in years. And it was like, so well handled and so thoughtful. And I have total confidence in them, without doubt. I think the question is, is this going to be Anna Wintour's last met? And that is. I wrote about this in line sheet, like everybody's. Is it going to be the last one? Is it going to be the last one? The only person that knows that is
Dora Fung
Anna Wintour is Anna Wintour.
Lauren Sherman
And also, should it be? Maybe. But like, the thing I always go back to is There was a 1999 New York magazine article about Anna Wintour, and it's. It's like some play on winter. Winter whatever whatever. In 1999, they were talking about her retiring. I mean, this woman, 2027, literally 27
Dora Fung
years later, she's still working.
Lauren Sherman
Yeah. I don't know. Should it be?
Jen Hatmaker
I don't know.
Lauren Sherman
I think like, I always imagined that she would keep doing the Met after she stepped away from Conde for, you know, 10 more years or whatever.
Dora Fung
Listen, let's be realistic. She's not stepping away from anywhere. She's not.
Lauren Sherman
She's not. So. So people. I don't know the answer, but.
Dora Fung
And also, can I say, if she does step away, what's everyone going to talk about? You know, they.
Narrator/Host
People, they need her.
Dora Fung
They need her.
Lauren Sherman
This is the thing. Who is the next her?
Dora Fung
No one. Let me tell you. There's no one else that fascinated so many people. I've seen her on immigration line. People come out to take pictures with her. And these are people at immigration officer. She's gone beyond just a fashion editor or editor.
Lauren Sherman
No, she's one of the most famous
Narrator/Host
people in the world.
Dora Fung
I agree.
Lauren Sherman
It's amazing.
Dora Fung
And I think, I don't think she should make this her last one. I mean, I think someone like her can push for a galliard.
Lauren Sherman
She be the last one.
Dora Fung
Maybe it will be. You know, the Met exhibition would be Anna Wintour. In retrospect, that would be.
Lauren Sherman
Well, it's interesting because like when you think of her as what her contributions to the industry are, it's not. I mean, you look at the shoots that they did over the years, for sure, but. But it's not really the magazine itself. It's all this other stuff, which is.
Dora Fung
And also I appreciate the fact that she always keeps trying. I mean, fashion rocks. Fashion night out.
Lauren Sherman
Fashion night out.
Dora Fung
But everyone's worst nightmare. But she gave it a go.
Lauren Sherman
Oh my God. You know, the first fashions night out was fun though. I went to Chanel and got mint green nail polish.
Dora Fung
Oh, it was amazing. I remember walking down Soho. It was like so fun.
Lauren Sherman
The next one I didn't go, yeah, I remember Rihanna outside of Intermix. I wrote about it about Rihanna. Yeah, she was outside of Intermix.
Dora Fung
That's amazing. It was, but.
Lauren Sherman
Yeah, but then by 2013 it was like, please make this end.
Dora Fung
Well, I think it still was carrying on all the other international votes. They were like, please, when can this end? But you know, she does, you know, she is not afraid to run with an idea.
Lauren Sherman
Totally.
Dora Fung
And she never made a save, which is great. So she shouldn't retire.
Lauren Sherman
And she made Vogue a bigger brand.
Dora Fung
Yeah.
Lauren Sherman
Which is what? That will be her legacy.
Dora Fung
I agree

Lauren Sherman
Okay, that's fair.

Lauren Sherman
Not like the lottery at all, actually.
Carvana Spokesperson

Lauren Sherman
Speaking of legacies, are you. Not really. I know that's a bad segue. Are you a fan of Celine Dion's music?
Dora Fung
I think I'm gonna get dragged for this. No. Me neither. No. But I love her, though. I appreciate her. And the older she gets and the older I get, I appreciate her kookiness so much more. And I just love the fact she's so camp and she is so. I don't want to say kooky, but, yes, she is. She's kooky and weird, but I think she really now is comfortable with that. And, you know, I was looking back on her Instagram and, like, all her style and just what she was wearing. I mean, talk about going back to Galliano. That backless suit, the white backless tuxedo again. I remember when I was younger, it was all over the Daily Mail. What is Celine Dion wearing? And now looking back, I'm like, she was before her time.
Lauren Sherman
Yeah.
Dora Fung
Yeah. You know, that was something. And then, I don't know. Celine. I do love the promotional pictures to announce the tour because she was so chic and sophisticated and, like, so fashion. It was like, so Saint Laurent.
Narrator/Host
Is she working with La Roach again?
Dora Fung
I don't know. I thought someone else styled those pictures of, you know, her announcing her tour.
Lauren Sherman
Yeah, I think maybe he does not have time. Even if I think he does her red carpet. Okay.
Dora Fung
When she's.
Lauren Sherman
I know that they go. They dip in and out. Oh, yeah. Law Roach says, oh, this is a people.com article.
Narrator/Host
Working with Celine Dion made him a better stylist.
Lauren Sherman
I don't know if. If he.
Narrator/Host
He needs to come on this podcast.
Lauren Sherman
I've never had.
Dora Fung
Why have you not had him? I think he.
Lauren Sherman
I don't know why. I'll get him on.
Dora Fung
We need to make this happen.
Lauren Sherman
I think he will do it.
Dora Fung
Yeah. And I mean, she's got a rocking body. You know, she wears clothes so well.
Lauren Sherman
Yeah. My feeling is I was never a fan growing up.
Dora Fung
I just never got it.
Lauren Sherman
Yeah. You know, I've been exclusively. I'm in LA for a few weeks. I've been exclusively listening to Paul Abdul, Janet Jackson and Debbie Gibson.
Jen Hatmaker
Straight up.
Dora Fung
Straight up.
Lauren Sherman
Yes. Yes. I just listened to that walking up from grabbing a coffee, which were all my favorites when I was like 6 and 7 years old. She may have come onto the scene a little bit later, but I just was like, this is too cheesy for me. I cannot.
Dora Fung
It was always like a Divorcee Woman soundtrack. Yeah.
Lauren Sherman
Yeah.
Dora Fung
But I. My Heart Will Go On.
Lauren Sherman
I was like, no, no, I don't. And I didn't like Titanic. I'm just like. I was very anti cheese like anything.
Dora Fung
It was just so much power. Palette.
Lauren Sherman
Yes. I didn't like it. But I do have a real. I like her now. I have like an affection. The thing I will say is. Are you going? So the reason we're talking about this is there are going to be two. You have to read line sheet to get the scoop. But there are gonna be two magazine covers with her in September. Oh, okay. One in the US and one in Europe. Right. It's gonna be. You've probably heard through the grapevine about these.
Dora Fung
Yes.
Lauren Sherman
They're all the talk on in Europe right now. But she's gonna be on the COVID of. I'm all for it. I love her. As an idea. I will not be attending. Someone asked me to go with them to see her during Fashion Week. I was like, because she has this series in Paris at La Defense or whatever. No way in hell will I be going to see Celine Dion during festival.
Dora Fung
Something like €2,000 or something for the ticket. And they're sold out within 40 seconds.
Lauren Sherman
The amount.
Dora Fung
No people I know, they were like, I was on that site for three hours and it just kept on going around the wheel. I'm like, you are never going to get these tickets. And not for nothing, they're €2,000 or something. Resistance saying like that.
Lauren Sherman
Oh, you also want to go all the way out there.
Dora Fung
I don't even know where it is.
Lauren Sherman
It's at. It's at the end of the. The yellow of the.
Dora Fung
Of the 1. I have no idea.
Lauren Sherman
All the way at the end of the one.
Dora Fung
Yeah, it's. Listen, it's too far.
Lauren Sherman
I'm sure there's been a fashion show there.
Dora Fung
Yeah. I mean, where has there not been? But Listen, if someone turns around and said, if son or. Or anyone turns around, said, we have tickets to go see Celine Dion, would you like to come? Probably. I'll say, yeah, you will. I would say that I'm like, 1000%. You know why? Because when am I ever gonna see Celine Dior ever again?
Lauren Sherman
I know, but, you know, to go out my way.
Dora Fung
I don't know where.
Lauren Sherman
Yeah, there was someone asked me to see. I didn't go see Robin, who I don't. I don't dislike, but I was like, no, I will not be a dude.
Dora Fung
Same.
Lauren Sherman
I just. Here's the thing, Dora.
Dora Fung
I did go to see Bad Bunny in Madrid.
Lauren Sherman
That's fun.
Dora Fung
I thought it was amazing.
Lauren Sherman
I went to Oasis last year on my own accord. Last year was my year of going to reunion shows. I went to, like, 15, 20th reunion shows. Will I ever go to a concert again?
Dora Fung
You basically maxed out.
Lauren Sherman
The Oasis was like, the biggest thing I've ever gone to. I had a really good time.
Dora Fung
It was amazing that I went.
Lauren Sherman
Yeah, but I think I'm good now.
Dora Fung
I also. I had this conversation. I was having this conversation with my friends Diane and Kathleen, and I've gone. We have to start seeing all these greats before they stop touring. I will always regret that I never got to see David Bowie. And then.
Lauren Sherman
Yeah, yeah, I know what you mean.
Dora Fung
I never got to see Elton John, and now I think he's got, like, two more shows that he's gonna do during Fashion Week in Mexico City. I'm like, no bueno. That's not gonna happen for me. But I went to see Paul Simon recently in Tangled.
Lauren Sherman
I've seen Paul Simon.
Dora Fung
Yeah.
Lauren Sherman
I mean, of course.
Dora Fung
Yeah.
Lauren Sherman
I went to college. I'm a dork. Oh, my God. I love Paul Simon.
Dora Fung
I mean, it was so. You know, again, because it's very white people. Oh, my God. It's my only going to.
Lauren Sherman
It's like, the whitest concert. Maybe not the whitest. It's pretty white, though.
Dora Fung
I mean, I went to see Walt Stewart a few years ago, and that was pretty white. Okay, okay. But it was amazing.
Lauren Sherman
How was. How was Paul Simon at Tanglewood? Did everyone. Everyone got up and danced. Were you like, oh, my God, I remember that.
Dora Fung
No one does because he. There's certain songs he's not able to play because he's deaf in one ear. I heard. Oh, so, like, my favorite song, they didn't play. You know, man walks down the street that he didn't play. And, you know, it was pretty. His voice is not the same. But it was amazing. You know, the fact that you support Simon.
Lauren Sherman
Yeah. Well, I went to see Bob Dylan once. I can't recommend that.
Dora Fung
Oh, my friend George just went to see Bob Dylan again.
Lauren Sherman
It's tough. This was like 15 years ago.
Dora Fung
I was like, oh, it was already tough then it was bad.
Lauren Sherman
I was like, you people are insane.
Dora Fung
You've got to be like hardcore listening to the album and just keeping the memory that way.
Lauren Sherman
Yes. Okay, one more topic for you, Dora.
Narrator/Host
Tell me, are there any brands?
Lauren Sherman
So, so my husband has this and I've been, I've been talking about him a lot on the podcast for some reason.
Dora Fung
Well, he's fixing the computer, he's fixing the wifi.
Lauren Sherman
I'm like, the WI fi is screwed. My husband has this publication called the New Consumer and he does all these reports with this public, this venture capital firm, Coefficient Capital where it's like consumer sentiment. They do these really big in depth surveys and there's all this interesting information so I run it in line sheet because it's fascinating. But he did one this like mid summer survey of 3,000 consumers in the
Dora Fung
U.S. where do they find these people? All over.
Lauren Sherman
I've never been asked all over. I'm always, I think that it would be like unscientific to reach out to but it's like a real mix of people. So it's like coastal people, age group people who live in the Ozarks. Like a whole mix. So yeah. So it feels really even 25 brands US consumers aspire to and then 25 they identify with.
Dora Fung
Right.
Lauren Sherman
It's really fascinating.
Dora Fung
What Nike was fascinating is like top three for both.
Lauren Sherman
For both. Nike is number one for men and women.
Narrator/Host
Yeah.
Lauren Sherman
Nike is number one for Aspire to and. And feels like it was made for you.
Dora Fung
Yeah.
Lauren Sherman
Gucci was the number one Aspire to. The aspirationals were Gucci, Nike, Apple, Louis Vuitton, Coach, Rolex, Chanel, Tesla, BMW and Lululemon. Those are the top 10. And then the identify were Nike, Apple, Amazon, Walmart. Great value. I've never heard of that.
Dora Fung
Levi's, I'm taking that.
Lauren Sherman
Levi's, Adidas, Skechers, Coca Cola and Samsung. So it's interesting. I mean they do mix like Dior is a Dior, Prada, Versace, Michael Kors, they're all on the the Aspire but
Dora Fung
not in the top 10.
Lauren Sherman
No. Polo, Ralph Lauren interestingly is number 19 on the feels like it was made for you and number 12 in the Aspire to.
Dora Fung
Right.
Lauren Sherman
The Jordan brand is number 11 in the Aspire.
Narrator/Host
It's a.
Lauren Sherman
It's an interesting list. I think it's also on Instagram. People can just check it out. I wanted to know what brands you most identify with.
Dora Fung
Dora, Ralph Lauren, Polo. Yeah, I could wear. Actually, no. Ralph Lauren, Polo and Chanel. If I can wear two brands forever, I always have this. I played skate. When you hit a certain age, you can only wear one thing. What would it be? I'm like, jeans.
Lauren Sherman
Yes.
Dora Fung
A button down from Ralph Lauren and then a Chanel jacket. Chanel jacket for day, night, to the beach. You name it. That's it.
Lauren Sherman
Did you get one?
Dora Fung
No.
Lauren Sherman
During this.
Dora Fung
Because can I tell you, there was all the sizes. There were no sizes left.
Lauren Sherman
I had to get a size smaller than I would normally wear.
Narrator/Host
I was like.
Lauren Sherman
I was just like, if it's.
Dora Fung
I was like, there's nothing that was left. There was one. I was there with like the next day. I was like, I can't be doing that crowd. And then there was one that was left. And it was a great jacket, but it was too big. I was with a whole bunch of my friends from Asia and I was like, someone's got to buy this. And I was like, none of us can fit it. It just looks ridiculous on you.
Lauren Sherman
You'll get. You'll get one. Yeah, I think, I think mine would be. It's hard. I think it's like anything Phoebe Filo makes.
Dora Fung
So I'm too short for that.
Lauren Sherman
Yes.
Dora Fung
I find that she designs for long people.
Jen Hatmaker
She does.
Lauren Sherman
Which is interesting because she is not super tall.
Dora Fung
No. But I guess it's in her mind the ideal woman is. Is super and she's tall.
Lauren Sherman
And I think she probably. Well, I don't know why. If she wears.
Dora Fung
I've.
Lauren Sherman
She's probably five, six. I don't know.
Narrator/Host
I've never met her.
Dora Fung
To me, I think she's quite tall. I think she'll probably be like five, eight.
Lauren Sherman
She's five, eight.
Dora Fung
I don't know.
Lauren Sherman
She's just so. I. Yeah, she's. She's not tiny. She's. She's petite, but she's not. But I would say any. Like, I have. It's the one brand that I still have like tons of my Celine stuff. I mean, I have Chloe stuff. And it's not that I've never sold any of it, but I. The mix of it, like, it's the stuff that I keep forever. I would say that.
Narrator/Host
And Levi's.
Dora Fung
Yeah, Levi's for sure. But yeah, for me, Ralph Lauren, because, you know, Ralph Lauren, button down And Ralph Lauren polo sweater. Even the pajamas. Everything.
Narrator/Host
Yeah.
Dora Fung
So there's so many. There's just so many occasions. I always say that. Any big occasions in my life. Ralph Lauren's been there with me.
Lauren Sherman
Yes. Yeah. I need Ralph.
Dora Fung
I need the Spice Girls. I need David Beckham.
Narrator/Host
That's perfect.
Lauren Sherman
Yeah. I would say in my. Right now, it's definitely Phoebe Levi Charvet and my Chanel jacket.
Dora Fung
Oh, I'd be wearing that again. Like I said, it will be to the beach. Chanel jacket to suit vlog.
Lauren Sherman
I know.
Dora Fung
Jacket.
Lauren Sherman
I know I need to. No, I am not. I'm not available yet.
Dora Fung
I'm also that person. When I buy something, my friends are always. You're wearing the shit out of that. I've got. Listen, I spent money on this, okay? I'm gonna wear the shit out of it.
Lauren Sherman
Yeah, that's a. You know. You know who's a good example of
Narrator/Host
that is Anna Wintour.
Dora Fung
Yes.
Narrator/Host
Sometimes she'd wear stuff three days a week.
Dora Fung
Can I also say, I'm not a celebrity. I don't need to just wear things once. And that's it. I'm like, no, I agree. I was like a real life human being.
Narrator/Host
I agree.
Lauren Sherman
Dora, this was great.
Narrator/Host
There was something fun.
Lauren Sherman
I can't wait to see you in September.
Dora Fung
I know.
Lauren Sherman
When's the new issue coming out?
Dora Fung
It's September 18th, but I'm doing teasers in New York sort of like the week before. Sort of like start of New York Fashion Week.
Lauren Sherman
Amazing. We'll be on the lookout, everybody. Check out Dora on Social. And check out 10 magazine. It's fabulous.
Dora Fung
Thank you so much. Excited for you guys to all see it. We're closing now, so that beast is getting put together and put to bed.
Lauren Sherman
Congrats.
Dora Fung
Thank you. And it's a huge jewelry section.
Narrator/Host
That's all I can say.
Carvana Spokesperson
Yes.
