Emmy
Oh, my God, we're super. Okay, you guys, Val is, like, one of our divas. Like, she's over for Drag Race night.
Manny
She's one of the dolls.
Emmy
You know, when you're at Drag Race, it's real.
Manny
Yeah.
Emmy
That's really serious.
Valley Lauren
My dog parents tell me why.
Manny
Put that mic in your mouth.
Emmy
There we go.
Valley Lauren
Okay. By the end of, it's gonna be down my toes.
Manny
I know.
Valley Lauren
It will.
Manny
It will. Mine's covered in lipstick.
Emmy
Yeah, but no, we love it. We love. We love having you, and we love having you here. Thank you so much for coming on. We're so excited. She's actually has some news.
Valley Lauren
Guys, wait.
Manny
We have to enter our guests because we get in trouble. What the fuck?
Emmy
Oh, yeah.
Manny
Okay, so Val is an influencer. Originally a Floridian influencer. She's from Florida and she moved to LA a couple years ago, and she's been influencing in la and she does fashion blogger. She specifically loves working with Dior, specifically.
Valley Lauren
Products who, you know, sometimes Prada.
Manny
She did Fashion Week. You know, she does a lot of the fashion, a lot of the beauty. She has a really beautiful page. You guys be sure to check her out. We'll have all of her stuff linked in the description box. But she's also been just one of our close friends. You probably have seen her on some of our social media and some of our stories, and we thought it'd be so fun for you guys to get to know her. She has some news. She's gonna be so excited.
Valley Lauren
I feel like I'm like yalls kid.
Manny
Yeah.
Valley Lauren
Literally adopted me, like, taught me.
Emmy
We took you in, literally in this.
Valley Lauren
Here's LA streets, honey.
Manny
Oh, Chad.
Valley Lauren
When I tell you they taught me the ways.
Manny
Yeah.
Valley Lauren
I'm going back to, like, Miami and The new, like, influencer scene.
Manny
Yeah.
Valley Lauren
No one would cross me, honey.
Manny
No, honey.
Emmy
Streets after la, the things you've seen, the things you've been through, girl, ain't nothing gonna get you like that.
Manny
I felt a responsibility to kind of take you under my wing because I too, was someone who moved here without knowing the ways of the LA streets. And they are quite fierce. As someone say, also very young, very young age.
Valley Lauren
I was 25, so I was still, like, my frontal lobe was not developed or any other lobe was not developed.
Manny
Yeah.
Valley Lauren
Until we went to la. Really gathered me really quick.
Manny
It will gather you and grow you up really quick and you'll learn a lot of lessons really quick. And, like, I saw that happening and so I said, oh, Jason, come here. You're like, come on.
Emmy
I'm like, mommy, it's that little monkey that. That monkey meme that's like this.
Valley Lauren
And I fully jumped.
Manny
Yeah. She said, say less.
Valley Lauren
No, honestly, I'm so grateful because obviously, like, someone that's been doing it for, like, 10 years, seeing you guys, like, when I was like a child, so now it's just, like, amazing. I'm like, wow, that's actually, like, really cool. And like, my besties.
Emmy
Yeah, we actually really like them in person. Yeah. Not just online.
Valley Lauren
Right.
Emmy
Oh, I love it. I love it. You do have news to share with the.
Manny
Hit us with a pick or pit, whatever you want to start.
Emmy
Yes.
Valley Lauren
Guys, when I tell you this has been like, I've been dying to do this segment because my favorite. So my peak is that we bought a home, me and my husband.
Emmy
Sickening, super exciting.
Valley Lauren
And like, buying a home at any age is super stressful. Just because it's just like, it's scary.
Emmy
Buying was scary.
Valley Lauren
Yeah. It's such a big decision. Right. And when you're going to spend the rest of your life for a couple years, whether it's like, moving to a new, like, city or, like, starting a family. I'm also moving to Florida, which is something that it's just crazy to think about. I feel like I just moved here, so I'm ready to go back to family.
Manny
And, like, how long were you in LA? When did you move here?
Valley Lauren
So I moved in 2021, right after the pandemic. I feel like everyone at that point was like, career shifting. Like, the role was over. Like, what do you do? Identity crisis. And for me and my husband, it was like, it's not or never for sure.
Manny
So why did you guys want to move to la? For influencing. Right?
Valley Lauren
Well, yeah, like, my. My Husband like, supported my career, but I was doing it like, you know, part time. I was a makeup. The influencer scene was in Miami, but it's never what it is now, right? So. So he was like, we'll sell everything, our cars, our dog, even talk about his job.
Manny
That he, he was his barbershop.
Valley Lauren
Yeah, he was a salon owner for like almost 10 years. So at that point he was cooked. Honey. Yeah, my back hurts. Yeah, my arms hurt. He was like, I'm ready to like help you pursue your dream, which is so selfless in a couple. So for that I'm always thankful for him. So moved to LA with management. Shortly after two months, they dropped me. Girl. No, they did. That's the real guy.
Emmy
Oh, I didn't even know that.
Manny
I'm like now, let me speak to you.
Emmy
Let me tell you.
Manny
We've talked about these things many times and I want her to hit because I think her story is really cool. So I'm like, yeah, you got to tell the people, like imagine, you know, leaving everything, you know, moving across the country. I know what that's like. And then your security blanket is kind of like your management because they are like the mothers of your career and they help your career grow and blossom and they're also secure your income so you know where you get your brand is from. And then how quick was it you moved out here?
Valley Lauren
I moved here within a month. We're like packing our stuff, moving. We came with like 500 bucks in our account. Yeah, because mind you, like, I wasn't where I was now back then. I was still like really young, getting established, but like a cross country moves really expensive.
Manny
Yeah.
Valley Lauren
Selling our home, selling our business. But you need that money for like first and last rent in la. It's like three times as much as Florida, right?
Emmy
Yeah.
Valley Lauren
So all my money was like gone in like three business anyway. So starting over from zero was really crazy.
Manny
When did your management draw or you split ways from your management?
Valley Lauren
It was literally like three months after.
Manny
Three months into it, girl, the chaos.
Valley Lauren
And like having to tell my family that didn't agree with this decision to move here. And like a Latina household is very like, you're staying here till you.
Emmy
Or you make it, you pay it, you stay.
Valley Lauren
You don't need family. How dare you.
Emmy
Familia, you know, Exactly.
Valley Lauren
I was like, actually like, I need.
Emmy
To go, I want to go.
Manny
She said she was coming here for one year.
Valley Lauren
Child isn't too long.
Manny
Four years later, four years later, she's still here.
Valley Lauren
Touching on that really quick. Living in LA is for sure like a crazy thing. Like the lifestyle here, like opportunities is crazy compared compared to a small town in Florida. I will not speak the name, you know.
Emmy
Yeah.
Valley Lauren
No, but you know, at that moment when my management dropped me, it's almost one of those things that like, like an under underdog story where like either you like figure it out or you like go back home with your toe between your legs.
Manny
Honey, I feel like anytime you make like a really big scary move in life, you're gonna have a nurse to God. Whatever you believe in, I think it's test you. I think something always happens where like this guy like quit his job to start his own career and his house burned down. Like, I mean, I read that story in a self help book, but like the universe describes ways that it will test you because it's trying to see if you're really made of it. Are you gonna tuck your tail and go back home? Are you gonna fight the good fight? And I feel like you parting ways with your management, you know, two months out here happened for a reason.
Valley Lauren
Yeah, literally. And it's resilience.
Manny
Resilience.
Valley Lauren
How boring would it be to have like adversity in your journey? Like, truly it's true because then when you tell the story, people are how? I'm like, how would you appreciate the good part? Exactly.
Emmy
How are you gonna appreciate the good when you don't experience any of the bad?
Valley Lauren
And then it's one of those things where like when you're moving somewhere new, you worth anything. You have like a plan in your head that's going to be executed and then it happens completely different. Now my husband has like an agency now and it's like, what?
Emmy
Yeah.
Valley Lauren
From a barber to a talent manager, like that's crazy. So honestly, like, I owe so much to LA for the opportunities and the adversity. The battles fought.
Emmy
The battles fought and won and won and lost at times.
Valley Lauren
So honestly, like, definitely bittersweet. Wait, it was on my peak. Am I still on my peak?
Emmy
Yeah, but we trail all the time.
Manny
Yes, yes, but your peak is you bought a house. I mean, you know.
Emmy
Yes. And that's crazy.
Valley Lauren
And that's amazing.
Manny
So they're making the move back to Florida, right? Yep.
Valley Lauren
And literally like three days. Like, it's just unreal.
Emmy
Like it's crazy how fast it happened. Honestly, I thought you were gonna be here for a month.
Valley Lauren
When I told you guys, I'm like, hey, it's gonna be like an eight month process.
Emmy
No, she did, she was like and.
Manny
Then she goes, I'm moving next week.
Emmy
We gagged.
Manny
We gagged.
Valley Lauren
I'm already blocked, you guys. They already blocked me. It's fine.
Emmy
Yeah. I was like, it's our last for all.
Valley Lauren
Yeah, it had to happen.
Emmy
I get on TikTok.
Valley Lauren
I understand. As you should.
Emmy
Yeah. What about you with your pink?
Manny
My. I'll do my pit.
Emmy
Oh, pit. Yeah. I want to do a. Yeah, combined. Yep, yep.
Manny
My pit is. Well, my. One of my peaks is that it rained in la. Thank God. God bless.
Emmy
God blessed us. He blessed us well.
Valley Lauren
He loves la, by the way, Can I just say those comments about God not living in la.
Emmy
Lies.
Valley Lauren
I was about to take out my Bible and preach, girl.
Emmy
Yeah, it's crazy.
Valley Lauren
People are insane. How can you say that?
Emmy
I know.
Manny
So what are you going to say about this rain, honey? What about us sinners now? What you going to say about the rain?
Valley Lauren
Wet and thriving.
Manny
Honey. You think God made a mistake?
Emmy
No, no, no.
Manny
They're going to say God was crying. He's like, in space.
Valley Lauren
I still love him.
Manny
Listen, it rained. God bless America. God bless the sweet state of California. However, my house started leaking.
Valley Lauren
It doesn't stop.
Manny
But let me tell you something. I'll take the rain every day inside, outside of my house, as long as it rains. I'm not complaining. I'm just. I was so happy to see the rain. And two years ago it started. And it's not like it's pouring in our house, it's a drip, but it's a constant drip. And it's all in our walls and our ceiling. So it's causing a lot of water damage. Obviously it's a problem. So two years ago this happened and we called Guy out there like a contractor and he, he, you have to look at it when it's not raining.
Valley Lauren
Correct.
Manny
It won't come out while it's raining. So he came and he was like, it must be. It might be the chimney. He's like, I don't know. So he sealed off around the chimney and he was like, it never rains here is the problem.
Emmy
So you can't find it easily. It's like harder to find.
Manny
You know what I mean? Cuz like it hasn't rained almost a year here, so. And the last time it rained here, it has to like downpour for it.
Valley Lauren
To leave like mudslicing even to make it. Yeah.
Manny
Forever. And it just hasn't really rained here. And it rained. So it started raining again in the house. So we're like, that didn't fix the job. Also tying his dad, because we were like, one time it rained here, and he looked at our balcony, which is above where it's raining in our house. Like, it's above our balcony from my bedroom. So his dad was like, let's seal off the surrounding border of your balcony in case it's, like, leaking through. So they did that. Still raining in the house. So. So, okay, Sierra's man, Jonathan.
Valley Lauren
Okay.
Manny
DMS me because I showed it on my side, girl. He goes. He didn't say that.
Valley Lauren
He did say that.
Manny
He was like, if you have any broken tiles on your roof, it will cause a leak. He's like, that's what happened to us. And we got it fixed. So I was like, damn, my roof is shingle, not tiled. But I was like, my balcony is tiled. So then I go up on the balcony. I found a little crack, and I was like, is this it? I don't know. But then as I stepped my ugg boot down on the tile, I noticed water went like. Like. And a towel does not squish, right? So I said, oh, my God, this is it. So technically, Jonathan, after all these years, he led me to the correct direction of the problem. I got. I should DM it back and be like, dude, it was towels. So we got a contractor that came out, and he was like, it is 1000% this tile up here. He was like, whoever. Listen. He was like, whoever did this, they skipped so many steps. He said, because when you do a balcony, you seal it off, waterproof underneath the towel work, so if a towel breaks or cracks, your house doesn't leak. Right? It was like, they skipped that step. And he said, these are indoor tiles on your outside. And I said, I know that because I had already paid to replace all the tiles on my front and back porch and the bill. So we spent thousands on our bathroom model. Immediately went into redoing the tile, spent thousands on that. And my designer was like, girl, we should redo the balcony. And I'm like, no, it's too much. I was like, it's too much. I'm a go broke changing all these damn tiles. I can't do. I said, it's too much, Sandy. I said, no one sees my balcony. I'm not going to redo the balcony. And now look at me. We got to retire the whole balcony, and that don't count.
Emmy
Plus the water.
Manny
Plus the water damage inside my house.
Valley Lauren
Might as well remodel again, girl.
Manny
I'm just gonna go. I'm gonna just gut the whole house, tear it down. I'M just kidding. No. But now I have to get my balcony redone and. Yeah, replace inside my pantry and above my kitchen table.
Valley Lauren
Homeowner problems. Oh, you know, they probably will find you.
Manny
Oh, but they will.
Emmy
And it's like, things you would never really know. That was a problem that you never even deal with. You're like, why the am I dealing with this problem?
Valley Lauren
This is literally the most inconvenient stuff.
Emmy
And the things that you're like, girl, why is this me?
Valley Lauren
That was just like. Well, you wanted me.
Manny
Yeah, that's exactly my house.
Emmy
I had to cut down one of, like, the biggest branches. I was, like, rubbing against, like, my. My roof. That was like the shingles were coming off of the tree, so I had to cut off the whole section. Literally. Have a be a bee swarm in front of my house built for it to get them out of it. Like, you have to build a box for it and, like, so they can go somewhere.
Manny
It's too much.
Emmy
So now it's like the box is being built, and I'm paying for that. And I'm like, why, though?
Manny
We're also replacing all of our pool towels. Y'all remember I busted my ass. Oh, yeah. Maybe that leg.
Valley Lauren
Oh, my God, that leg.
Emmy
Yep, I remember that leg.
Valley Lauren
You always go through the worst.
Manny
I do, man.
Emmy
Some too. And it's things.
Valley Lauren
You know what I'm thinking about last? She got some sturdy legs and, like, falling down the. The driveway.
Emmy
Still in there.
Manny
What time?
Valley Lauren
With the scooter girl? Oh, I remember I saw her on. On Instagram. Like, she's like, rub my leg.
Emmy
I was so gagged. She's like, by the way, I fell yesterday.
Valley Lauren
Yeah, she's doing a story on TikTok. She's.
Emmy
Well, yeah, she's okay.
Valley Lauren
Don't have to worry.
Manny
Y'all know I'm up tough. Yeah, Honestly, I am. It's hard to get me down.
Emmy
I feel like you have, like, a high pain tolerance even.
Manny
I do. I do. It's hard to get me down.
Valley Lauren
It'll have to be, like, broken in half to then maybe.
Manny
Yeah.
Valley Lauren
And even then, maybe, maybe, maybe, maybe. Maybe a little catnap.
Emmy
Yeah, even that. Barely a cat now. She's like, I'll be fine. That's literally you.
Manny
So, yeah, we're gonna. I'll update you guys on how that.
Emmy
Project goes, but horrific.
Manny
Oh, it's. It's not good. Turns out it's gonna cost a lot.
Valley Lauren
And it's gonna take a lot of time.
Emmy
Construction in the house.
Manny
Another reason I remember why I Told them not to do my balcony because we just finished six months of construction. My bathroom, me being kicked out of my bedroom, and that is my bedroom again. So I was just like, hey, when.
Valley Lauren
You walk from home, it's so inconvenient filming every corner of your house.
Manny
I was having to escape and leave every day.
Emmy
And it's so loud.
Manny
Yes.
Valley Lauren
Oh, my God, that part.
Emmy
And we work from home and I'm like, it's dirty.
Manny
It's messy and loud. I've always said, people, if you remodel, if you can, try not to live there in the remodel, like. But like, if you buy a house and remodel, try not, like, let them do it. And then. Because it's hell to live in. Thank you to Shopify for sponsoring this episode of full Coverage. Why me? So the other day it was literally what two days ago, I ordered Instacart. Like I was like, I'm gonna order wait.
Valley Lauren
I cannot wait.
Emmy
I ordered Instacart and I was like, I'm just gonna order like some things and like grocery just get it. Cuz it was like, it was literally like my day. I was like, I'm not gonna go anywhere. I'm literally just gonna be home. I want a Vega. I look like fucking shit. I didn't even shower that day. I literally, I'm just gonna instacart like literally like cereal milk. Like that's the chill, chill necessities. I can just like grub on, right? Little chill things, baby. Let me tell you something. So it goes delivered, I'm like, okay. I go outside, there's nothing there. I'm like, you gotta be fucking kidding me. Where's it, where to get delivered to? The last time I instacarted was to Laura's house. So it got sent to Laura's house. And I literally am like, where's my Cinnamon toast crunch and Lucky charms? So then I literally am like, mother. I literally like start raging out and I'm like, you gotta be fucking kidding me. So I literally drive over to Laura's house.
Valley Lauren
So you drove to Laura's?
Emmy
Yes. It was a bunch of random stuff. I was like, you need it. I need all these random things. So I was like, I went, picked up my bag and I said laura messages. I was like, if you see a random gay man outside your house, I.
Manny
Would call the police immediately.
Emmy
She's like, I'm a male, he's in a sweater and a hat. And I was really like. So then I get, I get into, I get to the car, I'm driving away and I'm literally like, was it raining?
Valley Lauren
That Day.
Emmy
It was a raining day. Yeah, it was raining.
Valley Lauren
He risked his life for. Seriously.
Emmy
There was like. So I'm driving back home, I look at my bags, I'm like, oh, yeah, I'm good.
Valley Lauren
You're like, I have everything.
Manny
All cereal, no milk out. Or like a moment of silence.
Valley Lauren
That's a big loss to get it.
Emmy
I drove to get it.
Valley Lauren
I could have wait. I could have waited for the next day.
Emmy
So then I literally am like, oh, my God. So. So now I have to drive off and go to Amazon Fresh to go get my.
Valley Lauren
A three hour adventure.
Emmy
Three hour adventure from my one instacart. I go into the thing and I'm literally like this like, sorry, we're at a milk. Where's my lactate? The last one in the hotel. I got the last one.
Valley Lauren
Did you eat it when you got.
Emmy
I like lactate. I'm not lactose intolerant. I sure fucking did. I had two bowls just to make up for it. It. I was so. I was like, lord, they forgot the. It's just funny how like, it went from like, I don't want to leave the house. I'm getting an instacart order to my house to win to Laura's. Then it went to the store.
Manny
Do you want to know what's funny about the bag that you don't know what. So because our cameras, like, we get the detection. So Ty saw the bag, not in person, on his phone. He saw the CVS bag get dropped off and he's like, large. You order something. I was like, no, it's not me. I was like, they. We always our neighbors and our stuff up. So we just text and be like, don't get your. So Ty, I was like, text our neighbor and tell him that we have his whatever he ordered from cvs. And I was like, how do you know it's his? I'm like, they always confused with his. I was like, text him. I am not gonna text him. I'm just gonna leave it out there. And he goes, whose ever it is, they'll see where it was left and come get it. How right was Ty?
Emmy
And it was me.
Manny
I was spot on. He was like, I'm not gonna text because you know when they deliver, they send a picture of it. Like Heather Gray. Yeah, see, it's at our gate.
Emmy
When I saw that it was at our gate, I literally. You guys, I blacked out. I literally rage.
Manny
I know.
Emmy
My eyes went black.
Valley Lauren
I'm not kidding.
Manny
I was like, no, you were so bad.
Emmy
I was like, I Can't believe the last time I had Instagram was at your house. And so it went to her house. I was.
Manny
You got that sour cream for the poppy seed chicken.
Emmy
And I think it was chicken for Z. Oh. It was literally, like. It was random. It was like, random.
Manny
I was like, so that was my fit.
Emmy
I literally had to leave my house twice.
Valley Lauren
Very icky pit.
Emmy
It was just literally sick and twisted. I was so annoyed. And it's 30 such first world problems. I was still like, I don't give a. It was such an inconvenience at the time that I was like, when I didn't want to leave the house. And I was really like, in my recluse era.
Valley Lauren
Yeah.
Emmy
After the long weekend and I went to two stops, two looking like absolute.
Manny
Oh, I know that people could have seen you, Annie.
Emmy
No, I know. And I know they did in my sweats. And I had, like, my definitely judged Crocs on. I know how to stop at the store. Me stopping at the store after when I literally already looked like, was crazy sad. It was. I was like. I was really apologizing people.
Valley Lauren
I'm like, let's make sure we switched.
Emmy
The address so the address is switched officially.
Valley Lauren
Good.
Emmy
Well, what's your pit?
Valley Lauren
My pit is so bittersweet, guys. It's because, like, I'm leaving la. Like, I'm leaving, like, my drag parents, my community that I built here. I love, like, my little, like, shopping here by myself. My routine. I love doing my routine.
Manny
What's your favorite thing about la?
Valley Lauren
I gotta say, just like. Like, there's so many options to do so many things. Like, if you want just iced coffee, you can find it.
Manny
Anything.
Valley Lauren
If you want to shop, like, designer, like, in a very, like, not busy area, you have it. You have, like, the beach. You have, like, just so many options where I feel like in other, like, states, you just don't have it.
Manny
Yeah.
Valley Lauren
Or if you just want to feel rich for the day, Drive to Rodeo. Like, if you want to feel something.
Manny
Fingertips.
Valley Lauren
Yeah. And it's just like, I'm gonna miss it. I really gained my independence in LA100.
Emmy
I was like, a very independent city.
Valley Lauren
It is too.
Emmy
It is.
Valley Lauren
So that's what I'm gonna miss. Honestly.
Manny
I feel like when people leave their families and, like, go out on their own, it, like, it's the best. Find out who they really are without the influence.
Valley Lauren
And you can handle and manage things, like, without help.
Manny
Yep. You know, really build who you are. So I think it's so important to at some point in your life to branch outside while family's so important. But you know, spend some time away learning to a new city.
Valley Lauren
Yeah. Try to be forced to make new. Like, you know how hard it was for me to like coming here four years ago as like, you know, someone that wasn't really in the LA scene to go to these events.
Emmy
Gosh, it's tough when I tell you.
Valley Lauren
I'd be shaking to like every, like my whole body was just shaking. Like it was just so overwhelming. But now I can walk into a room, be like for like I can scan the room now and be like, I know you. No, no, no. Yes, maybe.
Emmy
Hey girl. Yeah, it's true. You're like this just make wait.
Manny
Yeah, yeah.
Valley Lauren
Four years ago I'd be like, okay.
Manny
I had a different approach when I moved to la. I was never nervous, but I faced a ton of rejection.
Valley Lauren
Oh my God.
Manny
Because I was so front facing and like, you know, like never nervous, never scared. I wanted to be friends and talk to everybody. But when you do that, you face like a lot of rejection. Cuz I just throwing myself out, I left many events crying and I, I didn't understand. Maybe if like I was like, like step back for a moment was a little more subtle. I wouldn't have faced so much rejection.
Valley Lauren
I think also being from like the South.
Manny
Yeah.
Valley Lauren
And like it's a whole different like stick out personality. You still got like a sore thumb.
Manny
But also like a sore.
Valley Lauren
I came into LA like so like I'm gonna be friends with everybody, Kiki.
Manny
And what you find out about that?
Valley Lauren
Listen, the lies. No, honestly like I'm glad I experienced what I experienced because you learned that. And one thing about the LA Beauty community that I learned is like you go to an event, say hi, oh my God, let's get together. Oh my God, I miss you. Let's get together. Like it's so empty when it comes to relationships.
Emmy
Yeah.
Valley Lauren
For you to form real authentic relationships here and not only like regular life but in the community of beauty was so challenging for me.
Emmy
So it's hard in general.
Valley Lauren
So I had to learn. I didn't know what acquaintances were at that time because in Florida I was never challenged because I didn't have places to be to be challenged. So girl, I learned so much like my list for like a friend on like the criteria and like what I want, deserve, need, like it's heavy, it's hefty.
Manny
Yeah.
Valley Lauren
And like I left LA with a sense of like, I feel so fulfilled in like who I am as a person. As a creator in my friendships, like what I'll tolerate, don't tolerate in the industry. Not the industry. So girl, I'm good. I feel confident.
Emmy
Yeah, good.
Valley Lauren
I feel like the best version of myself.
Manny
But yeah, you've definitely.
Emmy
It took work to get there.
Valley Lauren
It took so much work. And even having to sometimes go to events on your own, that was the worst part.
Manny
Yeah, yeah.
Emmy
Oh yeah, I've been to Mexico.
Valley Lauren
And then people like switch up on you like one like they'll say how do you on an event then not the other one. You're like oh it happened from Tuesday to hoping from elf to I don't.
Manny
Know, like constant game here.
Valley Lauren
It's such a game.
Emmy
It is, it literally is.
Valley Lauren
And it's hard to take it personal. And that was my problem. Any look, any gesture, I'd be like they hate me. Yeah, what did I do? What did I say? And like walking on eggshells all the time, girl, I'm tired. Yeah girl, it's tiring.
Emmy
Amen.
Valley Lauren
Once you realize like your worth and like, like whoever's for you is for you, whether it's a brand, connect, a friendship, an ally, like an industry, like you're good, you, you really, it's not that deep.
Emmy
I also just got stopped giving a as much been doing it for a long time cuz I care a lot less now. I feel like in the beginning I also very much cared what people thought about me.
Manny
Totally.
Emmy
And I was very much like kind of aware.
Valley Lauren
How can you not though in an industry like this? And like everyone you go to, everyone's like I. Everybody who's wearing this, who's hanging out with who.
Emmy
Of course it's like hawks, everyone just looking at each other in like a weird, in like a way.
Valley Lauren
And you know what's funny? Everyone's probably spiraling in their own head.
Emmy
They are. No, no, that's literally the reality.
Valley Lauren
Yeah, honestly like I learned that from you guys. Like you have to be in LA as a creator, you have to be so unbothered. Yes girl, that's what I love about.
Manny
That big thing is like not taking stuff personal. Like if you like at this point, if you have a problem with me, you have a one sided problem.
Valley Lauren
Truly.
Manny
Cuz like I'm so unconcerned and I know I haven't done anything to, you know, anyone and if I've pissed you off, then you're pissed.
Emmy
Okay. No.
Valley Lauren
And you know what? I'm so happy that I learned that early in my LA journey. I feel like it was very 5050 for me.
Manny
Yeah.
Valley Lauren
Like, 50 was, like, the struggle, getting to know people, like, finding myself. Honey, the other two years, you will not cross me.
Manny
Yeah.
Valley Lauren
Like, no, absolutely not. And then what? They will keep spinning.
Manny
Yeah, exactly.
Emmy
Exactly.
Valley Lauren
So I'm just so happy that I learned that at an early age. And, like, I didn't waste a lot of time on that.
Manny
Yeah.
Valley Lauren
I truly just live, love, love every single second here in la.
Emmy
And it's also, like, hard in the beginning, though, it's true. Because, like, I feel like, especially when you're getting into the scene and into finding yourself, you start to realize you're like, I actually really don't want this. Or, I actually really don't want that. And I'm like, you thought you did, but it's not really something you wanted. You just saw it for what it was and you're like, oh, it's not actually.
Valley Lauren
It's just so alluring.
Emmy
What I want there is a mystery, there's an award, there's a magic to the la.
Valley Lauren
And once you're in it. And, like, I feel like I'm to the point going to events. I'm like, this is it. Like, going to those big parties like White Fox, while it's super fun.
Emmy
Totally.
Valley Lauren
It's so overwhelming. You don't talk to nobody. You make no connection.
Emmy
Next.
Valley Lauren
There's, like, so many different, like, crowds. And it's like, it looks so crazy online for the people that are not in LA scene or the creators that probably don't live in la, but once you're in it, you're like, this is kind of stressful.
Manny
Yeah.
Emmy
Or you're kind of. You're looking at it. You're kind of like, what else? When do we go?
Valley Lauren
Like, can we leave in 30?
Emmy
Yeah. It's Irish goodbye.
Valley Lauren
I learned Irish goodbyes in LA very quick.
Manny
You never say goodbye. You just leave.
Valley Lauren
You can't.
Manny
You never say goodbye. You leave. You leave. You leave.
Emmy
I cannot agree more.
Manny
Val was with me. I don't know if you guys remember, a couple months back, we were talking about that crazy Uber driver I had.
Valley Lauren
Oh, my God, what was his name? Lino. Tino. He was not so generic. He's special.
Manny
She was with me.
Emmy
She was. She was the one in the car.
Manny
She was the one in the car. It was Bretman Rock episode.
Emmy
Yeah, I remember.
Manny
I showed him the footage.
Emmy
Oh, you did?
Manny
Yeah.
Valley Lauren
We left the event and it was like, it was meant to be because it was one of those, like, let's get off. Oh, let's book something quick.
Manny
Yeah.
Valley Lauren
We get in, he's like, you ladies.
Manny
Ready to have some fun? He said it just like that.
Valley Lauren
He starts what, rapping?
Manny
Yeah, he started rapping.
Valley Lauren
We were scared for a good 10 minutes.
Manny
Yeah, five, me 10.
Valley Lauren
I was trying to be strong for you.
Manny
You were trying to be strong for me?
Valley Lauren
I was like, it's fine, Laura.
Manny
Val was trying to be strong for me.
Emmy
It's fine.
Manny
And you know, I'll lean into anything. This man seems dangerous and like he's gonna kill us. Turn it up, Sir.
Valley Lauren
Listen, within 30 minutes, we pulled up to Laura's house. On top of the roof of this.
Emmy
Man'S car, dancing on top of the roof, hun.
Valley Lauren
He's picking us up dancing.
Emmy

Emmy
You'Re gonna get feral forced to join you.
Manny
You know what else was feral? That Boba shop opening.
Valley Lauren
The guy that was so epic.
Emmy
That was actually crazy. So last weekend, the one that just passed was Denis Boba's opening. It was on Saturday. And my lovely gorgeous friends came and showed out and showed support. You guys, it was blown out.
Valley Lauren
I saw that line. It's giving 2018 YouTuber meetup era. No, I got to experience it, guys. It was sickening.
Manny
It was crazy. Okay? This was my idea. So the grand opening was at 12 and I was like, you know, Manny's family's gonna be there. People are gonna be excited to meet Manny. So I'm gonna show up at 1 after the people have come, got their pictures and they have flushed through. That was my idea, right? I'll be an hour late and that way you can meet everyone. This is your family's thing, baby. At 1:00, it was bumping harder than.
Emmy
It ever bumped the the line. So, like, they were saying like someone like was leaving and they had overheard someone and they were like, I hope this bubba is worth six hour wait.
Valley Lauren
Six hours, honey. Stood with chairs, everything.
Emmy
I like, I was blown. I was blown away. I could not believe you were not.
Valley Lauren
Even expecting it to be like that, girl.
Emmy
I was not expecting it at all. I couldn't believe I was expecting, like, not even half of that. I literally was expecting. I was like, oh, I hope people come. Like, there's a fire happening in LA or in San Diego. That was really spooky. And it was like kind of close and it was like kind of cold and it was gonna Start sprinkling. And I was like, oh, well, like, it's not gonna be, like, that crazy. It'll be, like, really chill.
Valley Lauren
Yeah.
Manny
I was thinking, like, an hour worth of a line.
Emmy
Yeah, me too.
Manny
Like, you know what I mean? So that way, we swooping over, girl, everybody.
Valley Lauren
Everybody worked that line.
Emmy
Okay, and let me tell y'all something real quick. My entire family started working.
Valley Lauren
The Latino force, honey. They're like, where do you need us? Even if you don't want us, we will work.
Manny
I even said, look, I don't know how to make boba bow.
Emmy
It got so fierce that my dad was in the back, like, sealing bobas. My brother was in the back. Obviously, Nick was making bobas, too.
Manny
Your mom was running around taking orders.
Valley Lauren
Somebody on the mic.
Manny
One cousin was on the mic calling out orders. One cousin was running at the front door, running the line.
Emmy
Another cousin doing, like, raffle.
Valley Lauren
The bodyguard. The bodyguard.
Emmy
The bodyguard.
Manny
Your aunt was running the line to take pictures with you and get the ruffles. And then your other aunt. Oh, my God, Rita.
Emmy
Yes.
Valley Lauren
She killed it.
Manny
Nana.
Emmy
Nana. Oh, my God.
Manny
Nana is that diva.
Emmy
She is. Nana is that girl. I know Nana's going to watch her c like this.
Manny
Everything good from Manny derives from Nana. It's true. It is true.
Emmy
A sweet, literal angel. I have.
Manny
Amazing.
Valley Lauren
She was so happy to, like, see you guys there, right? No, she was.
Emmy
She was. She watches every episode of Full Coverage. Literally, like, she is obsessed with it. So she was really excited to meet Laura. So she was really, absolutely gagged. But it was, honestly, you guys, such a success. And I just want to say thank you to everyone in San Diego who, like, camera and people that came from, like, the OC People came from la.
Valley Lauren
Girl that flew from Florida.
Emmy
Florida gagged me down.
Valley Lauren
She said, I will meet, man.
Emmy
She's like, I will be, man. And I will get in some of this boba. So, like. And so that support was insane. That's just something I didn't expect. So I just want to say I really, really appreciate it. And I'm really proud of, like, the shop that, you know, Nick created and, like, that I created with him.
Manny
I've never seen a Bubba shop this cool. And I'm not jealous. Just saying that, like, I am not just being, like, trying to gas it up. Seriously, it is above and beyond. And the drinks. You gotta try the cho.
Valley Lauren
That's what we had.
Manny
That was my favorite.
Valley Lauren
Delicious. And honestly, like, when I walked in, cuz I'm a theme park girly through and through. I have These tattooed all over my back. All the parts. No, I do. So anyways, I was like, it looks like a Star wars theme park.
Emmy
I was.
Valley Lauren
I was taking beers with. With the anime, like.
Emmy
The machine.
Valley Lauren
Everything was just so well done. It totally looks like it could be franchised for real.
Emmy
I could more. And hopefully that is something in the future. I think it'd be cool. Tyler thought this cute idea that. That would genius if we did a full coverage drink.
Manny
Oh, yeah.
Emmy
I was like, that would be a really, really cute, really cool idea. So I'm just excited to see where it goes. Like, I'm really proud and it's, like, so cool to have, like, a family business that's like a store.
Manny
Truly live family business. Like, I. At one point, I just stopped and I looked around and, like, I would. I literally told Manny in the middle of the store, I, like, you were like, the luckiest person in the world.
Valley Lauren
To, like, had that much support family, you know?
Emmy
Yeah.
Manny
So I was like a Laura, I love you.
Valley Lauren
No, but I get what she's saying. Like, it's like Latino family is like. So they could be a little overwhelming at times. But like, she said, a lot of people that, you know, may not have the support of their family to do a business, a career, like, or they might not want to do it simply, like, no, thanks.
Manny
Yeah, exactly. I never had. I never experienced anything like that, you know, really, in my life. And I had great family members, like my mom and sister, but it was just like, you know, it seems like any endeavor y'all take on, they take it as their own. You know what I mean?
Valley Lauren
Nothing in return.
Manny
And it's so crazy. And so they've given me an honorary Latina card, so.
Emmy
They sure have.
Valley Lauren
Yeah. You're one of us.
Manny
I expect Nana to be there.
Emmy
And it's funny because, like, my parents, like, especially with Laura, like, they are very, like, adopt Laura vibes. Like, they're like, they see us, your sister.
Valley Lauren
That's what they really do.
Emmy
They really do. And, like, they love, like, my mom, even after she was like, I just want to say again, like, I just love seeing Lauren, Tyler. I love seeing them. I haven't seen them in so long, and it was just so nice to catch up with them. And, yeah, my family sees you as family, so it's just so nice. And I'm so glad they got to meet you, too, and, like, see my, like, life here, you know? And Gabriel and Z came, and it was just nice to actually have, like, friends and all my friends or all my Family was like, it's so impressive that you have, like, friends from saying.
Valley Lauren
Like, wow, thank you for taking care of me.
Emmy
No, literally, like, the fact that you have friends that would go out of their way to drive three hours.
Valley Lauren
Really? That's real tea right there.
Emmy
That's real as. So it just was like a huge. It was a big honor for me and I was so proud to show you guys off to my family and be like, look, I have, like, sickening ass friends and like, and I was proud of my family to show you guys. Like, this is my family who like, literally, like, helped me build this and my brother this business.
Manny
It truly is a family owned business. So if you guys guys see Dankies Baba, stop by.
Emmy
Honestly, I promise you, if you go in. The drinks are so fierce. And the little rope one, girl, the rope one.
Valley Lauren
It should be more because of the rope.
Emmy
And honestly, it's funny. The main drinks that were actually sold was like that taro one. The Chongo was like the. I think one of the biggest hits. They ran out of frozen mango because of how popular it was. If it is, y'all, drink it. Three down, huh? So wait, can we talk about the.
Valley Lauren
Merch and the design? Girl, that's what got me.
Manny
It's crazy, girl.
Emmy
He's so excited. He's so excited.
Valley Lauren
The little stuffed little whatever. Like a little cow. What is it?
Emmy
What are they called? Oh, it's a denki. It's like a little bear.
Valley Lauren
Oh, my goodness.
Emmy
Yeah, it's like the. It's like danky. It's like a little blue bear. It's a little lightning ball. He's a ninja. So he's like a little blue ninja bear. And we have this. I forgot what it's called, but it's like a Funko Pop. Yeah, like those, like, little dolls.
Manny
Oh, yeah.
Emmy
In it. And then we are getting, like, merch, like, hoodies.
Valley Lauren
I wanted one, but they didn't have it.
Emmy
I was like, yeah, we don't have them yet. But, like, that was like, to show, like, we're gonna have merch.
Manny
Yeah.
Valley Lauren
Yeah.
Emmy
So we're really, really excited to see where it goes. And, like, I'm so proud of Nick, like, what he's done with this. Like, it's been since COVID you guys. I've been working on this since 2020. It was our idea. We would go to Boba time every single day during COVID and we were finally like, we should like, do this ourselves.
Valley Lauren
Figure it out.
Emmy
Look how sitting this is. Like, we come here all the time. And like it's kind of like basic and boring. What if we turn a place like actually turned it out and was like an experience. And it's by high school, it's by crumble cookies.
Valley Lauren
Like oh my God, that part. Double the flavor, double the sugar honey.
Emmy
People are gagged when they walk by and they're like, this is a really cool shop for what it is.
Manny
Yeah, for boba.
Emmy
This is crazy.
Manny
It's insane. I've been hearing Manny talk about this, you guys for years. Like, how's the boba shot? Well, they install this, this and this and this today. How's the boba shop? Well, Nick is experiencing recipes. It's the permits.
Emmy
It's the permitting. That's.
Manny
And that's why when pal permits held back for years. Eaten, burned down. They waved all permits. Cuz the permits will take people a year, honey. They gonna build them houses a paper mache. They wave all them permits, get this.
Emmy
Even like doing a biz like a business. Permits like that, like doing construction in the business, it goes to the same department as houses. So imagine how busy and how backed up it is if you have house permits and permits for a business. How intense the amount of they have to review content.
Manny
Tricky thing with that is. So you'll rent a space and start carving it out and building. But you still have to pay rent while your permits are getting approved. And you're not making any money. And you're not making any money. They can hold you up. Yes. So it is. It's a very difficult week for sure. I'm so proud of Nick too.
Emmy
It's his life.
Manny
Like, because this is running it and this is like his thing. But his whole family has come together obviously to help make it happen.
Valley Lauren
And it's sibling is crazy with that much like, you know what I'm saying? Like a partnership again, a lot of people don't have that. So you're really blessed.
Emmy
Yeah, I'm really proud. Like, honestly, like the cool thing about like my brothers and my parents, like they would never do me dirty. Like I know that just like they are as people. Like they would never do me dirty ever, ever, ever, ever. And I would never do them. Like we would be completely fine. Like I trust them with my life. My parents always say, you know, we only have what we have just to make sure you guys have things that you have. So it's like, I know they would never take my money. They want to just leave. If anything. Like we just want to leave you stuff. So you guys didn't have when we're gone. So I don't have to ever worry about anything.
Manny
You guys up?
Emmy
Yes.
Valley Lauren
It should be like a family unit should fall function like that.
Manny
It should.
Valley Lauren
Taking notes.
Emmy
Absolutely. No, it's. Honestly, it's incredible. Like, I'm so proud, and I just wanted to talk about it as my. As my peak in.
Manny
We're gonna put in the description, the address.
Emmy
Yeah. It's exciting.
Manny
Yeah.
Emmy
And you know. You know what's funny? So the Just opening. The opening was on Saturday. They're closed on Sunday. So Dunky Shop is closed on Sundays because Nick is, like, a church boy, obviously. So it's kind of like chick fil A vibes in a way where it's like the Lord's day. Oh. Oh, they are, right.
Valley Lauren
Wait, I did not know that.
Manny
Mormon.
Valley Lauren
Well, it's Christian, but different, right?
Emmy
It's like, Christian. Yeah. I didn't know Mormon. Similar.
Manny
There's a lot of similarities. Yeah.
Emmy
100. So Nick feels very much like, because of how the shop came to be, he was like, I just feel like, God, like, help me through all of this.
Manny
I want to have a rest day.
Emmy
For us and my employees, too, just to feel, like, appreciative of, like, the rest of, like. So the people were like, on Sunday, they're going. They're like, why is the shop open? And it's like, oh, it doesn't open on Sundays. It's Monday through Saturday, and Sundays are closed.
Valley Lauren
I feel like that also people say.
Manny
Hi, but if business does pick up.
Emmy
I was literally like, I'm gonna be like. I was like, so every Sunday?
Valley Lauren
No, but think about it. How many times she's like, I want chick fil A. And it's close. Like, it builds that high.
Emmy
It builds the hype.
Manny
It does. It builds.
Valley Lauren
It's almost, like, pretty hard to get.
Manny
Like, it's supposed to be open on Monday.
Valley Lauren
You can live a day with it.
Emmy
You'll be fine.
Valley Lauren
It builds it. Like, I want it more.
Emmy
And the thing is, like, obviously, because it's why high school, like, Monday through Friday would actually be kind of true.
Manny
Because it was by school.
Emmy
So it's like, I'm not even, like, really worried about it. It was more so just something like. I think it's actually kind of in endearing that he was like, I want to close it on Sundays because I feel like it's a rest day, and I feel like I want to reset as well as, like, my employees reset too.
Valley Lauren
Yeah.
Emmy
I think it's really nice, and it's.
Valley Lauren
Healthier for the Work environment. I'm sure everybody comes in, like, more excited to, like, make these Bobas.
Emmy
So, yeah, it was great. And I just want to talk about that. And thank you to everyone again for supporting and coming. And I was literally, like, absolutely gobsmacked. And I know y'all were, too, when y'all rolled down the window. What's Boba?
Manny
Oh, my God. So funny. I will say shock. What did I say? I said something like, who? It's Boba's house.
Valley Lauren
Wait, pov. I'm in the back recording her. And everybody was the Crickets.
Manny
It was Crickets because they didn't know it was Laura. Everybody said down the street.
Valley Lauren
And then Laura's like, hi, Mimi.
Emmy
I'm living. No people. Literally, the person that waited at, like, 7:00am, 6:45.
Valley Lauren
The first one in there.
Emmy
The first people in there, they're like, where's Laura? She's coming. Later, baby. She's coming. She's like, I can't believe you're getting Laura to San Diego. Like, this is so sickening. I'm like, she's been here before, babe. Like, this is not, like her first time, but yes. I'm so excited. It was so funny that they were, like, a celebrity.
Valley Lauren
It's so funny how they see you guys as a unit, too.
Emmy
Yes. No, they were gag. Everyone that was there, they're like, where's Laura?
Manny
I came. I came to San Diego for two reasons. To get married and to see a boba shop.
Valley Lauren
Important reason.
Manny
Very important reasons.
Valley Lauren
But, you know, you have a good friendship when, like, people expect you to be there as a duo. Like, that's what I take from it. I'm like, oh, I love that. I love to see it like that.
Emmy
And they feel like they can see our support of one another, which is really nice, very genuine, which is really, really nice that people, like, recognize that. They're like, oh, my God.
Valley Lauren
It's not just, like, work. It's also, like our personalized.
Emmy
Yes, yes. And it's really nice. It was really, really nice.
Manny
We made sure, too. We left after being there, I think, three or four hours in the line, you guys.
Valley Lauren
My hat off to you guys going down the line, because, honestly, you. You see this, like, that era, right, of YouTube, like, at these malls, you guys tell me stories. But to see it and see you guys give the same energy, the same kiki to every single person was admirable. Was like, damn, it's a lot. But you guys would look so passionate, too.
Emmy
So it didn't even care.
Valley Lauren
It didn't look transactional also. So seeing that was like, damn. Like, you guys are really made out of like gold.
Manny
Yeah.
Emmy
Steel.
Valley Lauren
And. And it's. You know what's the funniest thing? You're right.
Emmy
I'm like diamonds.
Valley Lauren
I like copper, silver. You're like, even the lowest T. You're like, shit. Platinum it is. No. You know what was so cute? Cuz I was in the back standing. Anytime you guys will go to the next person, they will take their phone and be like.
Emmy
They'Re editing us out.
Valley Lauren
Literally. Hey, face out. Kiss three on them. On them. No, but honestly, seeing like, them getting giddy or maybe like texting it to, like, one of their friends. Like, I just met them. Like, everybody was so giddy and it was so cool to see that.
Emmy
Baby, I know your mentions are blown out. I saw you reposting everybody and I only, like, I was able to even repost, like, half of them.
Valley Lauren
Doesn't Instagram allow you like 50 or 100?
Emmy
Yeah.
Manny
Certain amount.
Valley Lauren
You truly can fit everyone.
Emmy
But I think I made sure to heart them though.
Valley Lauren
No, but at least the fact that you talk to them in person, that that should TRUMP Anything.
Manny
Yes, 100%.
Emmy
It was cool. It was really nice to have you guys there. And like, I felt. I really felt supported by you guys too.
Valley Lauren
We had a cute little D after baby.
Manny
It's a full famed.
Emmy
Literally, like so many of the people.
Manny
Fam.
Emmy
We're full fam. We listen every Friday. And I was like, lots of fam. It was amazing. Oh, my. I guess we need to do a tour. A world tour.
Valley Lauren
Oh, my God. I've been telling them. World tour. I've been telling them for the longest time to go on a tour. You guys will kill it. Please back me up in the comments.
Manny
Thank you.
Valley Lauren
I've been saying this.
Emmy
I said to back you up in the comments.
Valley Lauren
Actually said this. No, but truly, they would kill it. I think it's time to, like, let's start to brainstorm and, like, manifest it.
Emmy
You're like, okay, let's brainstorm, you guys.
Valley Lauren
After this.
Manny
She is our tour manager.
Valley Lauren
I will be.
Manny
Yes. Yeah, four this way. VIP passes.
Emmy
Our Florida stop. She's there. She's like.
Valley Lauren
I'm like, hey, guys, can you shut the up? They're about to start. Thank you.
Manny
Shut the.
Valley Lauren
And they're doing in Spanish. Hola.
Emmy
Translate a double honey.
Valley Lauren
I'm there.
Emmy
You're the.
Manny
You're bilingual queen.
Valley Lauren
I am a bilingual queen.
Emmy
Queen.
Manny
A queendom, you guys. She was born and raised in Puerto Rico.
Valley Lauren
Babani sister yeah, but no one really knows.
Manny
He doesn't know.
Valley Lauren
Guys, can you not, like, look it up?
Manny
Yeah, don't look.
Emmy
Yeah, don't, like, don't.
Manny
Don't search too much into it because.
Emmy
You know how the Internet can be. They love to lie. And, you know, it's just. It is what it is.
Manny
Shall we start?
Emmy
We should start on the rapid fire top. We have a couple topics. You want to hit right there. Now that she sees it.
Manny
She sees it.
Emmy
Look at our little full coverage boards. They continue to.
Valley Lauren
It says, okay, you can leave.
Emmy
Okay. It goes back to the. It's a big stop sign.
Valley Lauren
Stop talking.
Emmy
Stop talking. Shut the fuck up.
Valley Lauren
Can I just tell you real quick? I learned how to be red and how to read. I learned everything by this one right here.
Manny
She hung out with the gays. Honestly, that's what she's trying to tell y'all. She hung out with the gays.
Emmy
Listen, she.
Manny
A couple Friday nights.
Emmy
Yeah.
Valley Lauren
I've been trained.
Emmy
She's been gathered several times.
Manny
I'm like, oh, Val, they tell you you're fat, stupid and ugly. They're like, oh, they love you. They love you. I love you, baby. They love you.
Valley Lauren
I'm like, give me another one. No.
Emmy
I remember my first time, I read Val about to film you're ready on my accent.
Valley Lauren
How dare you?
Emmy
And she was so like this.
Manny
Her jaw on the floor.
Valley Lauren
Because I know how to respond.
Manny
Hit him back.
Valley Lauren
I was like, I'm like.
Emmy
And I was like, how about like. It's like a funny thing.
Manny
It's funny.
Emmy
I was like, you get me back.
Manny
Now you have to read.
Emmy
It was hilarious. Other things you learned, I bet you're much quicker now.
Manny
Ready?
Emmy
You're ready to go. Get me.
Manny
Read, read, read them down.
Emmy
Read them down. Okay, guys, we have our first topic here. Let's talk about the tar trip recently.
Valley Lauren
Can I just say, I'm over tart.
Manny
Where's my invite? Her guns are blazing.
Emmy
You can actually. You can say that. Okay. So recently, they just did a tart trip and they went to Necker island.
Manny
Originally because I was like, oh, very original.
Emmy
Very original.
Valley Lauren
I've been on that one. Right?
Emmy
We went to Necker Island.
Manny
It's a great place for branch, right?
Emmy
It's sickening.
Manny
It is fantastic. It is great. That was a good idea. From Tarte to Copy Benefit. That was a great idea.
Emmy
Yeah, it was honestly great.
Manny
Okay, we're being shady.
Valley Lauren
It's because it worked.
Manny
It worked.
Emmy
Exactly.
Manny
Seriously, I am being shady. But that. I think it was a great idea. To go to Necker Island. I think it's a great spot for Brips. It is. If you have budget, it's the whole island. It's like you're just a little private experience. Tart got that benefit budget and they showed up.
Emmy
They do, baby. They got.
Manny
We can see those tart sales on Tik Tok Shop and honey everywhere. They never lie.
Valley Lauren
It's never going to go down.
Manny
No, literally, they're doing just fine.
Emmy
They're doing fantastic. And that's why I'm like, I don't mind trending them a little bit. So they're fantastic. But the thing. So this is the thing. They were actually in a lot of hot water.
Manny
Here we go.
Emmy
Because of the trip, the way the trip went down because of like the fire situation. So obviously they had the trip planned. They're like, we're going to go to Necker Island. So a lot of the creators, like, they decided to. To go with them. This is literally the week of the fires. Like, this is the fire pre trip. I don't think so. I think it started like when it was there.
Valley Lauren
It's like no one's fault, really.
Emmy
I mean, it's like, I don't know what you're supposed to do.
Manny
Were they there? No, they weren't there.
Emmy
I think it was the day before.
Manny
They were not going when the fire started because Tana said with Trisha, I heard them talking, that she decided not to go because of the fire just started. They had started. The fires had started.
Emmy
Had just started. So basically. But there was creators, like from LA that did go and they were able to go and experience and do the whole fantasy.
Manny
So they definitely rent apartments and do not. You owned a home.
Valley Lauren
They're like, I have nothing to lose. I'm on this trip.
Emmy
Yep, hundred percent. But it's like the thing is the reason that Char is getting shredded is because they feel tone deaf to people. Right. It's like people are literally losing their homes or losing their livelihood all throughout la and you're just doing like a brand trip in the middle of it with creators that are from la and it just looks so like, what the are you doing?
Valley Lauren
It could have been postponed.
Emmy
It could have been postponed. It could have been moved around.
Manny
I'm sure it couldn't have been on Necker island, though.
Emmy
Actually. You're right.
Valley Lauren
She received that spot.
Manny
I guarantee the flights.
Valley Lauren
Yeah.
Emmy
And listen, I feel like, you know what, what's hard. Like, I had seen them, I saw them like trying. Like they were like, we're Going to donate money for every single creator here. We're going to donate to, like, the fund.
Manny
And then Aspen was, like, advertising her palette specific trip, but they, like, donated a huge amount of the proceeds to people who lost.
Valley Lauren
I mean, that's still fair.
Manny
It is.
Emmy
So I have to, like, that's fair. I can't. I really can't even shut them like that because at the end of the day, they were donating actual money to people who were affected by it. And, like, yeah, a lot of people can say, go off about Tara, whatever, but are you donating money, too? And, like, are you doing what that they can do? And, like, the resources that they have. There are a lot of resources. It's vast.
Manny
They have a lot of money. Probably a good thing, because if you think about it, Tart, I'm trying to speak for y'all, but y'all probably weren't going to donate that much money to people with a fire, but because your trip landed on it. Yeah, had to do something. I mean, there's no. I mean, you're getting your ass tore up. Like, obviously, you got to do something. So it put them in a position where, you know, the victims of the fire got a lot of money out of it. So maybe it's a good thing. You know what I mean?
Valley Lauren
Like, yeah, nothing to. To lose.
Manny
Silver lining.
Emmy
And honestly, maybe, like, the. That. That coming from people making tarte donate, it was like, you know what? Maybe it was worth it because at the end, literally, like, they actually end up donating a ton of money. They did, you know, a lot of the proceeds. It's. It feels weird when you watch a video when they're like. They pull out a check and it's like, look, all this money for the people and then just go back to drinking and partying. It does look a little weird, but it's.
Valley Lauren
What are they gonna do?
Emmy
But, like, what do you do?
Valley Lauren
It's not really. I mean, at least they're putting the money where the mouth is and donating. Like, what else can they do?
Manny
But you know what? The thing is, there's always something going on in the world that's bad. There is.
Valley Lauren
You can't stop it.
Manny
You can't. And I get it. It's like, these influencers are from la. So I get it. And trust me, I'm at home, home crying. And they're literally showing. The juxtaposition is crazy. But if you think about it, like, think about this logically. North Carolina just got their asses rocked. And by the way, LA is a very popular city. So you're gonna get, you're gonna get press on that and the media coverage.
Valley Lauren
Will be way more than like another state.
Manny
I didn't know about North Carolina. I was very unaware of that situation. So all those people have sit back and watched all of us in LA live our lives and go to events while people are living in tents in negative 20 degrees. It didn't hit the media like that.
Emmy
We didn't know.
Manny
So unfortunately I knew they had bad weather. I did not know there was a disaster that came out of that. I never knew that. People are like, why are you posting about North Carolina? You know, every comment section got that.
Emmy
It was like, I didn't know.
Manny
And it's because you know, if something like that happened in Alabama it would be the same response.
Valley Lauren
Correct.
Manny
People, you don't hear about it. So it's like, you know, so while we did hear about this more, I'm sure all these other disasters happening around the world constantly watch us having the time of our life. Always has to be aware. Just juxtaposition.
Emmy
Absolutely. And I think that's why a lot of people actually get pissed about the branch of thing. So yeah, everyone's going through something. Yeah, everyone's going through something at all times. So it's like things are always happening.
Manny
Yeah, you just gotta go with it. But I do agree. I'm like, well then tart, you guys are so rich, you gotta do something. So I'm just so happy.
Emmy
Same that they don't.
Manny
And yeah, it was still weird to watch for sure. But these are young girls in their 20s who probably don't own properties in these fires to be honest. Probably are not going to affect them.
Emmy
Yeah.
Manny
So they're going to go. If we're just being really honest. So they're going to go on the ship and have fun. They're going to go to the private island for free, honey.
Emmy
And it's also like what were they supposed to really do? Because everything was booked. Everything was like, yeah, they could have been like okay, last minute cancel it. But the amount of money they would have lose out on doing that and then now they actually get to donate money to the people.
Manny
That's what I'm saying. TAR probably would have never donated all that that money if it wasn't for the brand trip. So the silver lining.
Emmy
And they're donating hella money per influencer.
Valley Lauren
Well that's good.
Manny
The Aspen collab. That too, you know.
Emmy
So imagine the amount of money that.
Valley Lauren
They actually also people get survived by the trips. Also, as a viewer myself, I'm just going to be honest. Every time they have a trip, something chaotic is going on. So you hear, touch up. Oh, here we go. What's next?
Emmy
And it's almost like, what's going to happen now, girl?
Valley Lauren
Like, you need to time it better. Like, let's not, let's not do trips at the beginning of the year. Year when clearly something always happens at the beginning of the year.
Emmy
They always do trips. Trips are happening every.
Manny
They never. Trips work for them, clearly. But it's like, God, I feel like it work.
Valley Lauren
It works better for just the exposure of, oh, someone always getting canceled on the trip. Girls not using the product. It's always something. So people are like, here we go, tar. So they're gonna find any reason to like pick at them?
Emmy
Yeah, 100%.
Valley Lauren
Do this, do that, don't do this, don't post that.
Emmy
And the reason that it's happening, actually, I've come to realize I was kind of thinking about it, like analyzing it. I was like, why is this the way it is? So the reason that like Tarte isn't even inviting beauty people anymore. They're inviting these TikTok girlies because they want to be the cool brand. They want to be the cool tick tock brand. So if they're associating with the cool tick tock people, like the Alex Earls of the world, the Monet, everyone, whatever that are like these cool tick tock girlies, then they're going to be automatically like the cool TikTok brand. Right? They're not the beauty influencer brand. If you, if you want to be like a cool TikTok girly, you need to buy tart and wear tarte. So that's why they're doing it.
Manny
The thing is, my mind, the beauty industry got so diffused whenever you know it's more about making a product trend more than the review. You know what I mean?
Valley Lauren
That's all it is. Make it viral.
Manny
It's not about like everyone saying this is such a good product. It's just if someone popular uses it is what it's more about now. And that's okay. That's just how things change. You know what I mean? But that is what it is now. So tart.
Emmy
That's what they want.
Manny
Tarts very. They're Tar is very innovative and they're.
Valley Lauren
Very, they're very quick on that. They're cutting out the trend and the girlies are going to give the quick viral.
Manny
What do you call them? They're trailblazers yes. Honestly invented, kinda. I mean, listen, other brands had done brand trips before, but Tarte invented the influencer brand. They're done the gifting.
Valley Lauren
Yeah.
Manny
Everybody talked to back in the 2017 through 18, 19 all just like, how do we do it like tart? How do we do it like tar.
Valley Lauren
They were like the pioneers.
Emmy
They were.
Manny
Yeah.
Emmy
And it works for them in this way, like. And that's why they're bringing these really non beauty people.
Manny
Miserable time. Yeah. They have a record.
Emmy
Absolutely. It is what it is. And obviously because they are are this brand that's seen because of the amount of people that go on it, all these creators going on this tart trip, they're going to actually be more scrutinized because of it. So brands that are on those kind of trips, they're going to be like, oh, look at the all eyes.
Valley Lauren
And the girls are taking a risk at this point, going on a tar trip.
Emmy
Girl.
Valley Lauren
Everyone's going to look at every handle. Who's this? Who's that? So you got to be like on your QS and A, you kind of.
Emmy
Do honestly on the trip because you have to make sure that like and that you want to make sure that it's inclusive and they're not being like some weird type of way and see a single one that's trip.
Manny
I know they didn't invite any boys on their trip. Out of all those people?
Emmy
None. And there was a lot of girl.
Valley Lauren
And the thing about, I used to get so butthurt obviously as a, you know, smaller creator, like micro, capital letters, micro macro, don't let nobody tell you title sound important. So I'm a micro and capitals please address me as such. What was I saying with that?
Emmy
I forgot that you get annoying as a creator. You're kind of like, oh, that's so frustrating. Yeah.
Valley Lauren
Because it's almost like there's no like loyalty to the creator. And like, you know, if somebody's posting big or small, if they're showing love to your brand, at some point you would think it will be given back to you. So it's so transactional. That's what I was going to say.
Manny
All about numbers.
Valley Lauren
And as a creator, it's almost like for me, like I've never been on a trip. But besides that, I'm not going to promote tar because since the beginning of my career, it's never been. I never even gotten PR from Tarte.
Emmy
Right.
Manny
Yeah.
Valley Lauren
So for me it's a brand that is like, you're cute and all, but like I will Never invest my time in you because I see how transactional you are.
Manny
It's all about with creators. They're macro.
Valley Lauren
So for me, how I've been moving lately is like, I'm going to build a relationship and see how. How it goes.
Emmy
I think that's great, though.
Valley Lauren
I don't want it to be that's.
Emmy
How you should be. I feel like a lot of times in, like, in the working world and just in general, like, you want to climb up the trees that you feel like you could be kind of work with one another and it's like, not transactional. Like, I've had many times where people have reached out to lord to me about, like, wanting to do something with us, but then it's like this very transactional thing. Or like they're actually not even supportive of us at all. They just wanted the quick thing, like in that moment. And it's like.
Valley Lauren
But you know what? Even with the girls invited on the trip, they have no loyalty to Tart.
Emmy
No, none. Of course not.
Valley Lauren
Next month, they go on another trip and post the same BB cream for somebody else. So it's like, you're not really building. You're building the hype around a product. But where's that loyalty for, like, the long run? Having creators promote your product when it's like, long and dried up.
Emmy
Correct.
Valley Lauren
It's a cold, hard world, period.
Emmy
It's a cold, hard world. But you know what it is? And I think it's like kind of like now that we're seeing it for what it is and seeing the trip and, you know, it's nice that they donated at the end of the day, but I understand where people are coming from. Like, this is crazy.
Manny
I understand. Understand both.
Emmy
Me too.
Valley Lauren
Yeah.
Emmy
But, like, from a business standpoint, that's probably what it is. Like, that's. That's the reason. Like, they probably can adjust it. And it's great that they're actually donating real money, a lot of money that actually would affect people's lives in a really great way.
Valley Lauren
That's what matters at the end of the day.
Emmy
Yeah. It's like actually helping people. And they did help.
Manny
Yep.
Emmy
And I saw they're actually doing. I. I applauded Mar on this. That she was doing a giveaway for, like, first responders to come on the next trip.
Manny
I saw that. Oh, they came back.
Emmy
I saw that. And I was like, wow. Wow.
Manny
I mean, they definitely know how to dot their eyes and cross their T's to keep them out the fiery lane. But at least they're doing it, right.
Emmy
Yeah, exactly. It's like, right. Yeah, absolutely. That's all that matters.
Valley Lauren
What it's going to, like, prove itself.
Emmy
Yeah. They're saying that they're going to do something about it, and then they're physically doing it. So I have to give them props on that.
Manny
Yeah, you have to.
Emmy
Have to give a little. Little one, too. 100%.
Manny
Selena Gomez Post a real of herself, like, hysterically crying and then deleted it very quickly because of the comments.
Emmy
Well, girl, I saw the video. It was very nice.
Valley Lauren
My heart sank for her.
Emmy
Me too.
Manny
I know.
Emmy
100.
Valley Lauren
It's the. I feel like it's the desperation of having such a big audience to respond to and figuring out how, like, overwhelmed you are with. With trying to translate what you can do as a big celebrity. But it's still gonna fall short for people because people are humans with ugly emotions, and they're still going to try to tear her down. So she just, like, really sad to see her time and time again try and get laid down. Try and get it down. That's where I'm at.
Emmy
No, it is. It's true. Like, I saw the video and you could. I could. I'm like, this is devastating.
Valley Lauren
Like, she felt every emotion.
Emmy
She felt the emotion. She knew exactly what was going on. She was devastated for her community. She was devastated for the Latinos that was going through what they're going through. And it's like, you could see that that was happening. So for. So for people to be like, oh, well, like, oh, look at these fake tears. Like, kind. I was like, you guys.
Valley Lauren
Or even making fun of the flag emoji. If she did it, it would be kidding. Chaos.
Manny
Yeah.
Valley Lauren
She's representing the best way she. She thinks she can at that moment.
Emmy
At the end of the day, she's doing what she thought she, like what she thought was best. Like, she thought that doing that was saying that was gonna show her way.
Manny
Took it down after minutes and she said, apparently showing empathy for people is not.
Emmy
It's bad.
Manny
It's bad.
Valley Lauren
Do you think people were reacting that fast?
Emmy
Yes.
Manny
The video is jarring.
Emmy
The video is intense. Yeah, it's a very.
Manny
So I think it probably, like, you know, caught a lot of people attention. Very.
Emmy
It did. And also, like, the news outlets picked up really, really fast.
Manny
Oh, yeah.
Emmy
And they reported on it really, really quickly. And of course, the news outlets, their comments are going to be completely different than, like, Selena's comments would be. So it turns into, like, this whole massive thing. And then I saw that she had, like, responded to, like, someone like, I guess like some senator or someone like, quoted her thing. I was like, you should deport Selena Gomez.
Manny
And she, oh, my God, Senator. It was a guy who was running to be a part of it. His name is like, Sam Felt.
Valley Lauren
Put him on crazy. Google him.
Manny
I'm like, I'm going to call him out. He literally was like, maybe we should deport you too, Selena. An American citizen and this man is running for sinners. Let's all take note on that.
Valley Lauren
Okay, I have a question. Like, for you guys, as a celebrity that big, don't you think that there needs to be some kind of, like, PR team to, like, buffer her emotions and her post? Maybe, like, hey, Selena, I know you want to post this, but your work.
Manny
Would be better done this way.
Valley Lauren
Exactly. Like, have more guidance to protect her mental health. Usually they do have, for example, the Kardashians. Like, Chris has probably, like, people like, you know, every content needs to be filtered because, like, you may feel something out of emotion, but you just can't be.
Manny
Find the best way to help and to come across. Say, and come across and say your part.
Valley Lauren
Exactly.
Manny
And I think she definitely just felt very emotional and went out. But then unfortunately, it like, seems like she regretted it and paid for it very quickly. So I think sometimes it is better to meet up with your team and devise.
Valley Lauren
How can I translate the best way.
Manny
Since that video, they're like, she's like, well, it's posting.
Valley Lauren
She's like, it's like, let's call Selena. Yeah, somebody go to their house.
Emmy
No, literally. And the thing is, like, they do have that. They have. They have all of, like, they have all that stuff.
Valley Lauren
So it's like her feeling desperation.
Manny
I think she really felt that.
Emmy
Really? That's why she felt it.
Valley Lauren
Or maybe sometimes, like, you know, when like, creators or big brands go through something so major, like Balenciaga, like, I feel like sometimes putting words into text can translate better because there's no emotions attached from, like, the person that's, like, writing that.
Emmy
Writing it.
Valley Lauren
Like, like Matilda. When that happened to Matilda.
Manny
Oh, the.
Emmy
Oh, yeah.
Valley Lauren
I feel like a statement. I feel like when you write a statement, it's better for your mental health because people are not criticizing the way she looked, the way she cried. That's horrible for your mental health. Like, that video will live on the Internet. It will for the rest of her life. Life. So it's like, you know what I'm saying? I feel there's other ways for her to address her feelings.
Emmy
Absolutely.
Valley Lauren
That's not completely, like, exposing her, like.
Manny
Such a big audience. She has one of the biggest followings of all people on Instagram.
Valley Lauren
And people, instead of like, you got that from her, support it.
Emmy
Yeah. And also it's up because the video is really intense.
Valley Lauren
It's really rough because.
Emmy
But because people are actually really jarred by emotion like that. Like, people, like, are not used to that. They're not used because people are just not used to that kind of emotion. That kind of run is. Some people almost like they're kind of gagged. They're like, wait, what happened to the illusion of it?
Valley Lauren
People were saying, we're like, she got purchased and, like, walked down to her mansion. Like, who says that? You know she's doing that.
Emmy
Yeah. You know, she probably isn't doing. At the end of the day, it doesn't matter what, like, privilege classes she's in.
Valley Lauren
She's still human for her people.
Emmy
At the end of the day, she feels for them, and she. And she has every right to feel for them, and she has every right to say what the she wants to say, and that's how she wanted to go about. She did it. But, yeah, at the end of the day, people are going to take things and they're going to wrap it up in their own little way. And people that are running for Senate, as you can see, want to just be absolute sick. And they want to say things like, that's clown.
Valley Lauren
She should sue him.
Emmy
Seriously. And then so she literally. She responded. She was like.
Manny
Did she?
Emmy
Yeah, she did. On her story. She was literally like. And she was like, threat noted or something like that. She literally. I hope he's getting ready to fill, and I hope that the Selenators are shredding him to absolute.
Manny
Please, honey, y'all, shout for Haley Bieber. Where you at now? This matters now. Now shut up.
Emmy
But the thing is that also, like, I actually appreciate that Selena was able to be like, speak, like, speak out about something that literally affects her community directly. And it's, like, important as celebrities at that level, to that caliber to actually, like, you know, have their opinions out there a little bit, to at least try or, like, even, like, you know, because sometimes it's really easy for people to kind of be like, oh, you know, to not know what to think or not know what to do. And so, like, they look to celebrities or influencers, whatever, for guidance in some way.
Valley Lauren
Yeah.
Emmy
So it's kind of nice you have a platform that size, that level to be like, you know what, guys? I don't Think this is okay. I think we should stand together as a community.
Manny
That's not crazy.
Emmy
That's not what was.
Valley Lauren
That's not what was said either.
Emmy
It was not said that way.
Manny
Selena became very chaotic there. A show.
Valley Lauren
You know what? People love Selena because of how authentic she is. So it's like, yeah, she's getting drugged for this. But, like, people that really love her, like, that's my girl.
Emmy
That's how she is, and that's how she is.
Valley Lauren
So there's always more good than.
Manny
I still love Selena.
Valley Lauren
Yeah, we love her.
Manny
I thought that, like, I was like. I honestly watched the video and was like, damn.
Emmy
I know she felt it.
Manny
I felt for her.
Emmy
Yeah, I felt very cute. It's just like.
Manny
It's horrible when that was raw. And I really felt.
Valley Lauren
I hope she has, like, really good support system.
Manny
I also knew because I didn't know if it had been taken. I didn't see it from her page. I saw it from a news source. So I didn't know it was, like, up and down or whatever. And I was like, damn, I know she's getting red, you know when you see. I was like, God, it was very jarring. You know what I mean? It's raw for her.
Valley Lauren
It was like, if I'm gonna cry like that, I'm crying. Sending you a video to, like, a friend.
Manny
Like, something, like, very intimate.
Emmy
That kind of crying. I'm not even showing that kind of crying. Like, I'm literally saying, like, I don't even. I'm not even doing all that. Like, so that's really intimate.
Manny
Next subject. Blake versus Justin B Saga ongoing.
Emmy
The saga that never stops.
Valley Lauren
It's been too long. You guys sick? I'm tired.
Emmy
The Justin Blake Live Please piece is so okay.
Valley Lauren
Did you guys read the books? I need to know. Like, the backstory.
Manny
I read the book.
Emmy
I didn't.
Valley Lauren
The first and second or just the first?
Manny
Both, actually.
Valley Lauren
Great book. I only read Start with Us.
Manny
I read Starts with Us, and it ends with us or both.
Valley Lauren
Great. Remember when that came out? Like, I feel like the movie really did not go. It went south.
Manny
Really, really great.
Valley Lauren
Do you guys see the movie?
Emmy
I know.
Manny
I will not watch it.
Valley Lauren
Okay, this is the thing. I watched the movie after all this, and I ruined my experience.
Manny
Oh, yeah.
Valley Lauren
But you know what? Even watching it, it and knowing, like, the tea, it's almost like, damn, like, what a waste.
Manny
Wasn't the movie good?
Valley Lauren
It was good, but you could tell it was off. Like, the interaction.
Emmy
You could already tell.
Valley Lauren
You can see it, like, from almost preconceived notions. How you say it.
Manny
Yeah, totally.
Emmy
Or you have a biasness because you've already seen all.
Manny
So it's almost like you're kind of.
Emmy
Looking for it in a way.
Valley Lauren
You want to kiss, but you don't. But like, she does like that.
Emmy
Exactly.
Valley Lauren
I mean, she seems to enjoy that too much.
Emmy
Yeah, exactly. You're kind of looking at it. You're like, so at what point did you say stop?
Manny
Yeah.
Valley Lauren
Cuz in this scene, honey.
Emmy
Huh? So it's kind of like. I think the bias. The movie, like this situation has ruined the movie so fiercely.
Valley Lauren
I hate it for the writer.
Emmy
Yeah, yeah.
Manny
She's like, oh, you know Colleen.
Emmy
She's like, Colleen, Ms. Hoover. She's like this.
Manny
She.
Valley Lauren
She's writing another book about them, literally.
Manny
The lawsuit. The lawsuit.
Valley Lauren
It ends with the lawsuit.
Emmy
It ends in lawsuit.
Valley Lauren
I need royalties.
Manny
Yeah, okay. Happy? I didn't watch the movie. I vowed to never watch it.
Valley Lauren
You don't want to watch it.
Manny
Used to support either of those fools. I think they're both fools. I think two things are true, and I think they're both rotten. And I think this is what happens when two rotten people get a hold of one another and everybody's like, blake. But here's the thing. Y'all got the bad side of Blake first. It was a witch hunt on Blake first. So people are going to refuse to change their opinion and see, people are.
Valley Lauren
Very split on this.
Manny
They are. They're very split.
Emmy
I was already telling Laura. I was like, oh, to me, it feels very like.
Valley Lauren
Is that even like women empowerment or not? It's like either Justin or team Blake.
Emmy
Yes, it's.
Manny
I said both. Two things can be true.
Emmy
I agree. And we had said anything. Even from the jump. We were both like, can't help both be.
Manny
When it was just on Blake, we were like. We played a little devil's advocate. We were like. We've seen this time and time again with women in Hollywood. They love. Love to shred. Women in dog pile. They love to do it. She ain't going down. Let me tell you. She ain't going down.
Valley Lauren
You know what? I feel like he never. Because, I mean, he wouldn't have. You would have cast someone that you think is being problematic.
Manny
Never.
Emmy
Of course.
Valley Lauren
So he's probably so blindsided.
Emmy
Yeah, he's absolutely gagged. But the thing is, like, now all these things have been coming up, right? For example, like the. The tape that was leaked of them dancing and them talking throughout. The dancing thing that was gagging Me, by the way.
Manny
So. But explain why that tape came out.
Emmy
So apparently, like during, you know, when Blake had filed the complaint, she was talking about, like when they were doing this scene, he was being really uncomfortable with her. Very inappropriate. Very, very much, like smelling her. Smelling her hair.
Valley Lauren
Like, what's that coordinator thing?
Emmy
Yeah, no, no, Intimacy coordinator. During the complaint. And that was like, during that scene, like when we were dancing, we were alone. This is what was happening. So then I believe that Justin, his team, because he was the producer of the film, he literally like released the raw footage of like the scene. And he was like, well, look at with the audio. Well, what do you think? What do you guys think? So then of course it did. It actually did not.
Valley Lauren
Look, the context is crazy. That's why it's important to watch it.
Emmy
Yeah, that's why it's important to watch it. Because it is kind of like when you watch your. Of like, like it seems like Blake is obviously the one in that moment. Like, she's like the one that's in the wrong. It didn't look creepy. It didn't look weird.
Valley Lauren
She does look at ease. She looks comfortable.
Emmy
At ease. Like, if anything, I thought like she was kind of shredding him a little bit about the nose. I was like, if anything, I thought it was actually like he looked like the one that was like in the light and keep the peace in that moment. So then all, of course, all those comments are like, crazy.
Manny
So all those comments are horrible and blank. Right. Because this is a video that proves that maybe she's not telling the truth in her. Maybe she's dramatic. Right. Okay. Because we got the real footage. Then a seven minute voice note from Blake. I did not hear Justin comes out. And TMZ just posts from Justin. Blake, sorry. Justin sends this voice note at 2am to Blake. First of all, what sociopath sends a seven minute voice?
Emmy
Seven is crazy. I'm gonna be real at that point.
Valley Lauren
I'm gonna call you, girl.
Emmy
Give me a FaceTime.
Manny
A seven minute voice note is crazy.
Valley Lauren
Without stopping.
Manny
He did not stop. And I listened to the whole whole thing.
Valley Lauren
Tell us everything. Go.
Manny
Let me tell you.
Emmy
Yeah, I was like, repeat.
Manny
So the whole entire time he is apologizing to her over and over again. I'm assuming it's about the script, but I don't know exactly what he did to her.
Emmy
But he's not saying what he's sorry.
Manny
He's not saying what he's sorry for. But I'm talking about he is giving and he's doing it in a sexy voice the whole time. So, like, I'm talking to you right now. That's not sexy voice. He's like, hey, like, you can like dragged out. You can tell he's doing a sexy voice. It's 2:00am he's like, he, I mean, this is seven minutes. So he's going on and on and on, like, apologizing and like, I, I, I so much respect for you and like, we can make this happen and like going on and on and on. And it's weird because he goes on to how great she is and like, he keeps on to the point where I'm like thinking in the shoes of his wife. It's in a. It's slightly. It's weird.
Valley Lauren
She really allows it.
Manny
Yeah.
Valley Lauren
If he's a breadwinner, she's probably like, handle.
Manny
It's weird. Like, if I was Ryan Reynolds listening to it, I'd be like, okay, you know what's funny?
Valley Lauren
I can see Blake and Ryan Reynolds in bed, like, giggling.
Manny
Oh, they both like this.
Emmy
They're playing like this.
Valley Lauren
And Ryan Reynolds is like writing a movie about it.
Manny
Listen, I'm not on the witch hunt for Blake and I'm also not team Blake, so I'm keep in mind I'm listening to this writing in the middle. I think it's weird. Is a weird voice note. And on the end he's like, you're probably at home with a baby on your boob right now. He says that in the voice note. That's inappropriate. It's weird.
Emmy
It feels like you're probably home with a with a baby in your titty right now.
Manny
And he's doing like that voice. The whole is weird. The voice notes. So all the comments on that post are negative. People are so invested in this, depending on the source. Yes, exactly.
Emmy
It's like what you're going to get negative. So you actually don't really know what's happening. It feels so, like tit for tat almost.
Valley Lauren
It doesn't like, where's the truth in this?
Manny
It's all I think is in the middle.
Emmy
Jumbled. It's like the truth is so jumbled. I think there's truth on both sides. Like, it's like we weirdness on both sides. I bet you anything Blake could have felt very uncomfortable in moments. But to the audience, like, it might not look uncomfortable. Yeah, but he could have been weird too.
Valley Lauren
Like, in that footage, she seems so, like, like comfortable girl. No, that's not giving victim. I'm not saying she's a victim, but I'm saying that's not giving that kind of mentality where, like, doesn't this happen? She's entertaining it. Boots down, honey.
Manny
That's why I'm like, do either of you really need to sue each other?
Valley Lauren
Settlement. That's not a settlement. He literally goes, I'm gonna go for the next. She's like. Like, you're playing into it.
Emmy
Well, of course. I mean, at the end of the day, she's also acting. I know she's also acting. She's doing the scene. She's.
Valley Lauren
She still could have been like, can we. Can we not do that right now?
Manny
Yeah.
Emmy
Well, the thing is, for example, if you are someone who is like, I'm uncomfortable in this scene. This. In this context, it's easier to be kind of like, okay, like, let's take a quick pause. Let's take a moment. Like, kind of, like, kind of assess. Or you know what? Or maybe it's not easy to do that. Who knows. Who knows what she was going through at the time, but at the end of the day, like, you know, it is your responsibility, you know, as a person that, like, let's say if you are uncomfortable to be like, hey, like, make it kind of known. Make voice it. And who knows, like, what was happening? And maybe she did voice 10 times. And that one clip, what, they filmed that scene three times, and that was.
Valley Lauren
The best clip that he looks good.
Emmy
In, and he looks great in it.
Manny
And then that.
Emmy
So it's like, okay, so then. Exactly. So how many. How many times did you film it, though, dude? So there's a lot of aspects to it that, like, you actually do have.
Manny
To be like, no. And both teams are playing the public right now.
Valley Lauren
They need to settle on something.
Manny
They need to settle and shut the.
Valley Lauren
So somebody is like, crazy, like, girl, you're still going to be acting.
Emmy
400 million.
Manny
Both of them, I think, are doing million. Them both.
Emmy
They have money, like, that. They got money. Was Ryan and her combined.
Manny
Maybe you got money. Neither of them are going to win that much, but, you know, you sue for, like, the crazy amount and then try to get a.
Valley Lauren
That's a big battle fight. Like, you're never going to film together again.
Manny
No. Oh, my God.
Emmy
But just let it end. Like, at the end of the day.
Manny
You guys didn't, like, what Funny if they did another movie together, they were like.
Valley Lauren
Was literally for.
Emmy
For the. For the sake of. Yeah. For the plot. It was for the book.
Manny
It was for the book.
Valley Lauren
Colleen planned it.
Manny
She's like, I'm sick of Hearing about it, I'm actually over it.
Emmy
It's kind of. It's the story that just, like, never dies.
Manny
It is.
Emmy
It is a story that never goes away. And I can't believe there's still newness about it. Every single day.
Manny
Every. It's because they're leaking things that make them look good. Like, each are like, oh, that was like, him with water bottle.
Valley Lauren
Yeah.
Manny
They're like, o. That picture. Or she's like, oh, I'll release the voice notes since he showed that picture of them. And he's like, well, then I'll find a dance. And same. You know, like, that's what they're doing. They're playing.
Valley Lauren
They're probably the same person.
Emmy
So it's literally like they're like, one move. It's like a chess game.
Valley Lauren
Also, be the bigger person.
Manny
Yeah.
Emmy
I think they're both passed out, though.
Manny
I think that this person.
Emmy
There's none, like, tried it. You. I'm gonna take this to the ground. And, like, it's like, you're gonna get ruined to the. By the public.
Valley Lauren
Ten years later, still going on.
Emmy
Yeah.
Manny
The mo. One of the most disturbing parts was the messages to his publicist how he wanted to take Blake down, wanted to take her brown, like Haley Bieber and create a witch hunt intentionally. That was jarring.
Valley Lauren
Hollywood was so dark, and that's.
Emmy
And that's just what we saw ahead.
Manny
Of time, and that's why people were like, no, Blake. Whenever we were trying to throw some positivities about, like, and how people do this. Now, look, I don't know, man.
Emmy
Like, don't. Again, it's like, when you have information about one person and then you get information other, and you're kind of like, that's valid. That's valid.
Valley Lauren
It's like, yeah, I'm just not invested anymore.
Manny
It's. It's. I'm like, both of you out.
Emmy
I'm done. Because it's gone too far. It's literally gone to the point where it's like, diva.
Valley Lauren
It should be a private matter at this point.
Emmy
Yes. Like, put it back.
Valley Lauren
Like, stop releasing statements. This is illegal to be ready.
Emmy
Justin literally is like, take it to court. I want. I want all documents shown. He literally so confident about his case that he's like, I would love.
Valley Lauren
He gives up that alpha.
Manny
He does. He does.
Emmy
He wants it to all be seen.
Manny
That cocky.
Emmy
He's like, please do.
Valley Lauren
I would love everything when you have hair like that.
Manny
You'd be acting a fool.
Valley Lauren
I would be. I was a man.
Emmy
You have good ass hair, baby.
Valley Lauren
It's fake. That's a trap.
Emmy
Well, no, I was like, you have good hair. It looks great.
Valley Lauren
Thank you.
Emmy
Looks so sickening.
Valley Lauren
It is real. But just.
Emmy
No, it's real, baby. It's all real. Hello. Come on.
Manny
Last subject.
Emmy
Oh my God. David Do. Ms. David Dobrik. She came back to YouTube for like one video. By the way.
Manny
Was the body CGI died.
Emmy
Wait, it was not. That was real.
Manny
His body revealed body tea. But the head is so.
Valley Lauren
I don't know about the face, but the body is giving tea honey.
Manny
It looked like it was AI because he has the exact same face.
Valley Lauren
But you know why it's AI? Because he's like.
Emmy
That'S literally exact. Because he was straining so hard.
Manny
I would be too. My reveal.
Emmy
He was convulsing.
Valley Lauren
This is the thing. If I'm going to show you guys my body that I've been working for, you best believe. First I would have practiced in the mirror.
Manny
I would 100%.
Valley Lauren
Second of all, I would have SM. I. I would have been like, yeah, a little.
Manny
All the blood vessels be popped in my eyes.
Valley Lauren
He was so excited. He's like. He's like.
Emmy
I'm like, no, it was the ick was fierce and it got me too.
Manny
Hold on a year work, bro.
Valley Lauren
I'm the first comment.
Emmy
It looked crazy. It literally looked like a. Like a freaking Ken dog. A Barbie doll.
Valley Lauren
Honestly, like that is such a big accomplishment.
Emmy
Yeah.
Valley Lauren
So good for you.
Emmy
Yeah. I'm happy for his transformation. Good for him in that way. But it is actually like wild to see him so that he came back and people were kind of like gagged.
Manny
Yeah. Watching.
Emmy
No, honestly, I was actually saying something. I actually just saw Tana Trisha talk about David and him returning and how they were shocked that he didn't get more hate for it because it was fires.
Manny
So excited for him to be back.
Emmy
But he's like not back. He literally announced. He was like, I'm not actually really coming back.
Manny
What was the point in the world.
Emmy
I might not even upload?
Valley Lauren
It was for the body reveal, the.
Emmy
Body team and for the the brand deal.
Valley Lauren
He did see, I was never. I was never in that YouTube era cuz I was literally like 12.
Emmy
I literally was like, sure, sure. Yeah, yeah.
Valley Lauren
I'm so young.
Emmy
Yeah, you're such a bb.
Valley Lauren
So like I couldn't even watch those videos. It probably rated R for me at that. No.
Emmy
Yeah, your TV ma. But I literally like, I. I didn't really watch his vlogs. I was never Like a.
Valley Lauren
So he was a vlogger.
Manny
I watched all of them.
Valley Lauren
Was it like a Jake Paul kind of vibe like that?
Manny
Yeah, it was similar.
Emmy
It was like with a friend group crashing cars.
Manny
Honestly, David did. So I watched him back in the day. I loved them. They were really funny. David did nothing. He just films, holds the camera and laughs. So it's like his friends do everything for the vlogs.
Valley Lauren
Yeah, it was like a vlog.
Manny
He was like the mastermind behind it. Also, you know, that came out that he was like Mr. Beast.
Valley Lauren
Like in the same era as Mr. Beast.
Manny
No, no, because he's like more.
Emmy
Before.
Manny
Mr. Before.
Valley Lauren
How old is David Dobrik?
Manny
Probably like our age.
Emmy
Yeah.
Manny
30S.
Emmy
Yeah, he looks late 20s.
Manny
I'll Google he's late, late 20s, maybe.
Emmy
I would. I would potentially think. But anyway, so he came back. I was actually watching Trisha and Tana. They were talking about this and how, like, they were shocked and how it's crazy that, like, even coming back. No mention.
Manny
He's 28, so he's young.
Emmy
Yeah, yeah. No mention about Jeff and his surgeries and how bad.
Valley Lauren
I need that. I need that to sticker.
Manny
That's. That looks like AI.
Valley Lauren
I want a sticker on my phone.
Manny
I know. Please make a sticker.
Emmy
There was one. There was one shot where he was like, talking to Noah Beck and he was kind of like turning and was bouncing. And I'm like, oh, the body is truly teeth here. But the flexing was so crazy that, like, I don't.
Valley Lauren
He waited a year to flex.
Emmy
Yeah, but I was like, no, you need to just not flex. And you look great. Just don't flex.
Valley Lauren
I want to see a relaxed video.
Manny
Can we have that from the neck down? But they didn't hit the face, so it looked like the face was detached.
Emmy
What's it called when they, like. It's like the. Those like Olympic. Like. Like when they do, like, the really crazy tan.
Manny
That's literally what that was for my reveal. But you got to hit. Hit the. You gotta hit the face because it was like a cut off. So I was like, oh. Because David Dorberg does all these crazy things and blogs. I was like, oh, he AI'd himself. No, see, that looks like AI to me.
Valley Lauren
Laura, can you imagine if it's all.
Manny
I'm gonna do that on me. Let's all do a review.
Emmy
Let's do it. Let's all get six packs. Okay, fine, Fine. But no, I was. They were also saying, like, it's crazy that, like, everything happening with Jeff too. And, like, you know, know that situation.
Manny
Is that court date or something pending still or.
Emmy
I don't know.
Manny
I think.
Emmy
I think it is pending. I think. No, I think Jeff wants to go to court with it and wants to make sure it's a thing. And I think it's like, yeah, going to happen. But I'm really not sure where. Where that is. But I know, like, obviously Jeff goes to the gigs with his eye and everything happening, and people still remember everything that happened with that situation, and they blame David, obviously. So it's like anything, anytime David does something, it's like they can't help but bring up the Jeff situation because of how crazy was. And, like, you just see David, like, living his life and, like, permanently harmed his friend for life.
Manny
Yeah.
Emmy
What do you even do?
Valley Lauren
That's what.
Emmy
Honestly, getting surgeries and his eye, all.
Valley Lauren
That legal drama is so necessary because you're just being reckless at that point.
Emmy
Yeah.
Valley Lauren
Hundreds like, reckless, young, fun. Like, it's just killed. Jeff could have killed, but I mean, there's consequences. So it's like, now you gotta eat it, even if it's a later point in your life.
Emmy
Yeah, absolutely. And like, sure, mistakes, y'all were all dumb, but, like, at the end of the day, they, like, someone almost died.
Valley Lauren
That's crazy. I remember that now. They're like, you're talking about, I don't.
Manny
Understand why David wasn't there for him. Like, David has so much money, resources. It's like, this happened on your side with you driving. Yeah. Why wouldn't you be like, holy. Like, let me.
Valley Lauren
It's almost.
Emmy
I don't think he had it in him. I think it was too mature, to be honest.
Valley Lauren
Imagine he's still 28. Like, you know how much life this.
Manny
Man experience wasn't mature.
Valley Lauren
If you're not having the right people in your life to guide you and.
Emmy
Give you advice, accountable.
Manny
He only know David O'Brien only had yes men around.
Emmy
Exactly.
Valley Lauren
He's literally flexing right now.
Emmy
You know what he was doing?
Valley Lauren
Like, yeah, he's literally like, you're not doing it.
Emmy
Flexing out. No, you only. You can do it.
Valley Lauren
Well, I'm done doing it.
Emmy
Yeah, you're like, I'm done. No, it's. It's crazy. Like, honestly, like, I was. I was kind of shocked to see him come back. And I'm curious to see when he would come back again. Like, if it'll be more a permanent thing. Like, you going to start uploading on YouTube again?
Manny
I mean, he's making so much Money with pizza Snapchat.
Valley Lauren
Have you guys tried it?
Manny
The pizza Snapchat? I have.
Emmy
I have tried it.
Manny
It was good.
Emmy
That was good. I went for, like, a. A video I had, like, done with with Daniel. Shot one number one hater. Yeah. And it was.
Manny
Did Daniel say it was bad in his review?
Emmy
Yeah, he did.
Manny
Of course.
Emmy
Yeah. He was like, this is.
Valley Lauren
I'm expecting it to be bad.
Emmy
Yeah. I thought there was, like, asterisks. I was like, oh, that was, like, pretty.
Manny
It was a bias dis.
Emmy
It wasn't like that. That bad.
Manny
But you're like, it's just pizza.
Emmy
I was like, let's go back. But I thought, like, yeah, it was just like, we'll. We'll see what happens. And I'm really curious to see what transpires from, like, the case with Jeff. And I really want, like, I really just, like, want justice for Jeff.
Manny
I know.
Emmy
That's what I want.
Manny
I know.
Emmy
I want justice for the friend. Like, I want the justice for him so bad, and I want him to be like, okay. And I wanted to not affect his life. And the fact that he. He's still getting eye surgeries to this day, is this, like, so crazy. It's horrible.
Manny
That's crazy.
Valley Lauren
But also, he put himself in that situation.
Emmy
I know, right?
Manny
Like hanging from a crane to be swung around. I. I do blame full blame on David.
Emmy
Yeah, me too.
Valley Lauren
I know. But I'm saying that you still say yes to.
Manny
I know. That's crazy. That's crazy along. It is. It is. It is.
Emmy
The crazy part, too, is that they literally had said on the thing, it was like. And they're. You're not gonna swing it, right? And he's like, no.
Manny
And then he swung it him.
Emmy
That was the problem.
Manny
If he swing it.
Valley Lauren
That's the thing.
Manny
The shot.
Emmy
It was supposed to be for the shot.
Manny
Okay.
Emmy
But then they. They ended up spinning it, and that's how he got hurt.
Valley Lauren
They spin by things about that.
Manny
