To get a name like that is impressive.

It is impressive. She got last year, most beautiful wedding I've ever seen. So it like made me follow her. Cuz I loved her account. I loved how beautiful everything was. And shortly after she got married, she was diagnosed with breast cancer. And it was really unbelievable. Like, it was. It was like, wow, can really happen to anyone. You know what I mean? And she documented from the very beginning to the very end of her breast cancer journey. And to be really honest with you, I've never. I've never seen a breast cancer journey like that. Like. Like self documented, like every procedure, everything, and like explaining everything that happens and just being super honest. It's way worse than what I thought.

[Manny Mua]

Got it.

[Laura]

I don't know what I thought.

[Manny Mua]

Yeah.

[Laura]

Because I've just never seen it. I have had family members with breast cancer, but I wasn't even alive when they had breast cancer. You know what? I was, I wasn't even born yet. So my mom's sister had had breast cancer, but it was my mom's. It was her oldest sister and there's seven of them and the mom was the youngest. So her older sister was like. Could be her mother. You know what I mean?

[Manny Mua]

Of course, yes.

[Laura]

So I wasn't even born yet, so I just had not seen that journey. And she is so strong. I'm just gonna say that she is so freaking strong. And she just went through so much and this is her brand. And she created the pink line in support of breast cancer.

[Manny Mua]

I love that.

[Laura]

So I wanted to wear it today, support her and just shout out her journey. I mean, like, she's so brave for putting on those vulnerable moments. Yeah, I mean, she just finished.

[Manny Mua]

Oh, so she's in her mission, huh?

[Laura]

Right now. And she just. Just finished the whole thing, like treatment a couple weeks ago, truly. So, yeah. No, it's insane what all she went through for it. So my heart goes out also. It inspired me to get a mammogram. So I want to talk about that a little bit, because I. My gyno. I go to my gyno once a year, and she's always like, oh, go get a mammogram. Most times, you don't have to do it till you're 40, unless you have a family history, which I have a family history on my maternal side. So it's recommended I go ahead and get one, but I never wanted to do one. Who wants to get a mammogram? No one wants to. And you just hear, like, horror stories about them.

[Manny Mua]

Yeah, like, painful.

[Laura]

I want to. I want to clear up some myths about mammograms, because I went and got my first one. First myth is they're not bad. You're not supposed to go when you're on your period because obviously your tits are sensitive and hurt. But, like, if you're on a normal day and, like, your tits are being normal and not hurting and in pain, they. So it's five seconds each breast, so.

[Manny Mua]

It'S not like a minute worth.

[Laura]

I know.

[Manny Mua]

I always thought it was like, a.

[Laura]

Minute anything for five seconds. They just squish your titty a little bit. It is not like a squirrel squeeze like your titty's about to pop. It's not that hard. I don't know how it works with implants. I don't know if that's more pressure or not. I don't have implants, but it is not. Let me tell you, a pap smear is way worse.

[Manny Mua]

And a past year's not more often, too. Yeah.

[Laura]

Technically, you're supposed to do both once a year.

[Manny Mua]

Oh.

[Laura]

So we can go in. It's just one woman in the room with you, and she's looking at the computer screen, not your titty, the entire time because she's doing the imaging. So she just sets you up on there. You hold your breath. Five minutes. Next hit, five minutes. And then if you have dense breast tissue, which they told me a lot of younger women do, when you get older, it thins out a little bit. They'll go ahead and do an ultrasound on each tit. So it's literally just like, gel and a little ultrasound on each tip. Both mine came back clear. I'm so grateful for that. But Bridget inspired me to go get a mammogram, so that way, you know, if this did happen, I could catch it early, and I'm really happy I did it. But I'm telling you guys this because I want to encourage you. You. If You've been recommended to get a mammogram or it's time. If you've been skipping it, just go do it. It's so easy. It literally takes no time. It's one of the easiest appointments you could have. Truly, it is. For me, it was not painful at all. And honestly, even if it was, it's just five seconds.

[Manny Mua]

Yeah.

[Laura]

Let me tell you what's worse than mammogram. The dentist. Oh, let me tell you what's worse than pap smears. The dentist. That hurts.

[Manny Mua]

Okay.

[Laura]

But Bridget inspired me. I want to inspire you guys. I want to wear her sweatshirt today. Support her. I actually bought two of them. I'm obsessed. I think they're so cute.

They're all so cute. I say, there's actually such a cute.

They're also sold out. I wait. I've set my alarm for the minute. They launch at 9:00am I was like, got it.

I love. See, that makes me so happy. Because then it's like people are watching the journey and they're supporting this journey, and they really want to support her.

You know, being so vulnerable and showing what it's really like and what.

[Laura]

I mean, she was really raw with it to, like, really show, like, what all. Like, her. Her being sick as a dog, losing her hair. Like, what these treatments look like, what they entail. Like, I didn't know what that looks like. It's worse than what I thought, unfortunately. Like, I didn't think it was great by any means. I just didn't know what it entailed. And now I do. And I'm like, my God, she's so strong for going through that. Like, crazy. And she's so young, too. So that's crazy, too, girl. Yeah. Get your mammograms.

Get your mammograms. And I honestly, you know what's funny? I mean, it's not funny, but, like, you know, something about it is that I feel like sometimes people will avoid getting a mammogram because they're scared of.

[Laura]

A result where I was coming from.

[Manny Mua]

The actual procedure itself. They're scared of, like, the. The what?

[Laura]

Finding out the information? Yes.

[Manny Mua]

Because, you know, obviously information is, like. The scary part is, like, knowing the information.

[Laura]

Well, my thing that scared me with it is, like, everybody I know that gets one. They're like. They're always like, well, we found a lot, but it could be benign. So we're just going to watch it. And then they send you home with that knowledge. You're like, take the lump out.

[Manny Mua]

Yes.

[Laura]

Like, you want me to sleep at night? What the is that? 100% like, they do that every freaking time. I was talking to a girl there, and they were like. They're like, she. She's like, I. They have a mass in my TED and they don't know what it is, so they just watch it. Every year, I'm like, this is why I don't want to get a mammogram. Because every time I feel like they find something, and they're like, every year, that could be cancer.

[Manny Mua]

But we don't know.

[Laura]

You know what I mean? So it's like, Jesus. But luckily, I feel very blessed. Nothing came back. Zero, zilch. So I'm happy I went. Even if did something came back, I'd be.

At least you would know fear.

I went so at. I could treat it, take care of it before anything grew. So, yeah, I just wanted to encourage. Ladies, get your mammogram.

It's not. We're so tough. Mammograms are not shit compared to what we can do.

Yeah. No, literally. Literally my peak. My peak is I went to Utah, and it was a peak because it ended up being like. It was just fun because I went to a wedding. It was for my cousin, and I honestly had, like, a really, really great time. And I was apprehensive of going just to Utah as a city state in general, because I'm like, oh, my God, it feels like the motherland going back to, like. You know, sometimes I feel like when I'm going in that settings, it feels like I'm going back into the closet in ways.

[Laura]

Yeah.

[Manny Mua]

Not like. And I think it's more of a pressure I put on myself. It's not people thinking, like, you need to go back in the closet. I think that. And it's something, like, on me that I personally just, like, I suppressed my own trauma of, like, you know, my internal battles of being gay with the Mormons. Yes, yes, yes, yes. And like, the. In the church. And so going back to a state that's filled with Mormons, I'm literally like. It just kind of like, brings me back into a place that I usually don't want to go, to be quite honest. But I had such an amazing time, and the people that were there were so incredible and everyone associated. I went to Provo, Utah, and the wedding was amazing. I told Laura the story at the wedding. That was absolutely insane. I need to tell you guys. There was this kid. It's my peak, I'm telling you. It's just so it's insane. Yeah, it's my peak. Just because in general, I had a lot of fun going. But there was. So we were. We were all in dance where. And honestly, it's funny because, like, the wedding, it's like, you know, my side is Mexican, and then the other side is, like, white. You know, the white. The white girly. So it's like, the music was so fun because it was like. It would be literally like cumbias, like, Mexican music that I hear every single wedding. And then it would be like, more whitey, like. Like Taylor Swift, like, vibes, you know? So it's like that. So it's literally like combo.

You know what I mean?

So it's like Sabrina Carpenter.

Sure, there was. And so it was like, it's a fun combo. So there was like, obviously, everyone's dancing. Everyone's getting crunk.

No Charlie. I literally. There was at one point, I was like, blade, probably. I swear on my life I did. But there was this moment, and everyone is, like, dancing and, you know, getting crazy, and this kid's like, back up, everyone. Back up. We're gonna. I'm gonna do it. I'm gonna do it. He tries to do a backflip on the dance floor. On the dance floor. Doesn't land the backflip.

Oh.

[Manny Mua]

Lands on his face. Instead he gets up, he's. You guys, I'm fine. I'm good. I'm good. Like, and everyone's like, you're not good. Like, he was, like, actually bleeding profusely from his cheek and, like, blood, like, hit the ground like, it was insane. But at the ground. He had to go get stitches that night. And so everyone's like, oh, my God. Luckily, the party continued right afterwards. And, like, you know, my family is so fun and sickening, and they're just like, like, doing a conga lines up in here. So it was fine, but it was, like, actually insane. I've never seen someone, like, get hurt at a wedding or, like, do a trick that they couldn't land. But also, I'm thinking, like, we're on slick wood. You're in dress. Dress shoes. I don't know if that's the Mormon.

No traction at all. So it was insane, but it was actually really fun. Utah General was fine. I went to swig, which is, like, the sodas, right? Honestly, like, it's whatever to me. I under, like, I got the drink, and I actually really liked the drink I got there. They have so many things actually Pepper? Yes.

And what do you just put?

[Manny Mua]

You know, I got a Dr. Pepper.

[Laura]

[Manny Mua]

Yes, I got a. I got a Dr. De Leche, which is a Dr. Pepper mixed with. And he mixes things.

So they mixed in. It's like dulce de leche. Like, it's like a condensed milk, like, creamer. And then they mix in, like, some other things in it. Some coconut cream, whatever. It ended up tasting like a, you know, butterbeer at Universal. It tasted just like butterbeer.

It was butterbeer, like, in my. Like, I was like, oh, my God, it tastes just like that. So they have, like, refreshers. They have, like, little snacks, they have cookies, they have a bunch of different things. But there's so many, like, options and stuff. So there's like, refreshers, like, coolant drinks, and then there's like, your dirty sodas. And that is what we always see is, like, the dirty sodas. Mind you, they are everywhere. And literally they're like. I'm not kidding. I saw one that was a drive through. The drive thru was a storage container on a ship. Like, it's. You know that those long.

Rectangles. Yeah, it was that. That was the drive through. So there's so many of them all over the place. But it's such an easy concept because you're literally just getting drinks. It's like, so snack bites. Me too.

I would love a swig. I would just go get an extra large Dr. Pepper with extra ice.

You have to add some stuff to it, though. Yes. You have to add some shit just to see, mind you, by the way, Mountain Dew is very big in Utah.

That's why Layla was saying she used to be addicted to Mountain Dew. We piss all over Mountain Dew.

I'll piss on it again. Let me say something. I cannot stand out. Liquid death, some might say.

It's like. It's rampant. It's actually really rabbit. I've never seen so much Mountain Dew in my life. In the three days I was in Utah. In my life, I watched.

I mean, I listened to a podcast. This was like six or seven years ago. But I'll never forget I was listening to this podcast because it was so jarring. And it was this prisoner of war that got captured.

Oh, God.

I think he was in Iraq and he got captured. So he's telling a story. Fascinated. I mean, it's just like the craziest story. But he remembers all the people that captured him were addicted to Mountain Dew. And he said there Mountain Dew bottles every.

I'm sure there was. I was like, oh, my God. That would be my hell.

So, like Hollywood knew what they were doing. They were like Hunger Games. We're bringing like two franchises. Like, people will watch. They knew what they were doing.

It's literally. There is no clear storyline. I had to google what. Why she was making.

It's start. They start to allude that she's postpartum. And it's called postpartum psychosis that she's experiencing the movie. But that is not made clear in the movie. Just so you understand. Because she's acting crazy before she has the baby. So for me, I was like, I don't like, is this postpartum, like she's crawling on the ground, acting like an animal before she has the baby.

And like they're off the wall.

Yeah. Really weird. And the scenes are shot all crazy out of order, just random as happening. She's. It's just like tons of things happening in the movie that just randomly happen and they never conclude. Like there's a guy on a dirt bike that's driving by her house and she's like freaking out watching them. But it never concludes that story.

Like, none of it is concluded. You. You don't know what's happening the entire time it's shot. It. She does the exact same role in Mother. Have you seen the movie?

It's also completely wild and weird. It doesn't make sense. So she does a great job with her performance. But it's that exact role.

Got it. Okay, well, what did you think about Mother? Did you like that? No, I didn't really like it.

When I was talking about this story, a lot of people were like, well, do you think it'd be great for a postpartum mother to contribute to the conversation? I was like, baby, wait, what? Multiple postpartum? Others like, but what if you're postpartum? Do you think it'd be great to watch? I'm like, okay, you're not hearing me. You're not hearing me.

The movie's bad.

It is a horror. As a matter of fact, I think if you are postpartum, you shouldn't go see this specifically. I think it's the opposite. I think the. I think this movie in no way helps or contributes to any conversation of postpartum. Okay, let me make that clear. It is not a movie speaking out for mothers in postpartum. So you're not going to catch that drift. And I know you guys are like. But, you know, I'm like, well, of.

Course they'll think that. Like, oh, maybe it's like the message is something different.

Then watch it. Well, then watch it if you think that. But the message is definitely not that. I don't know what the message is.

And you didn't walk out. So you have watched the whole thing.

What was worse? That one, the Longest Mile.

It had, like, a plot.

Yeah. The Longest Mile has a clear plot. It has a clear ending. It has a clear. Like, this is the story. This is the plot. This is.

So this movie has none of that. There's no. There's none of that. It's just scenes of her being manic.

And then so I googled, and they were like, it's postpartum psychosis. The only time they allude to it, really? So she does have a baby in the movie. But then his mom. So her mother in law is like slightly eludes that. Like, you have a tough time after having a baby. So then you can see where they're trying to connect it. But it was weird because in the beginning of the movie, before she had the baby, she was acting kind of that way.

So she was already starting.

So in the middle of the movie, I whisper, I go die. I think she's possessed by a demon and that the dog that keeps barking sees the demon. Like it's gonna turn to a demon.

I would have thought to say, I literally.

No. So you know what? If you think it would be a good movie, go watch it.

So what's the whole point of the movie?
