Manny Mua

Laura Lee
It's fucking Friday,
Manny Mua
you guys. I've just been thankful for my Fridays. Oh, because you know why? Because we have some sickening Fridays.
Laura Lee
We have some.
Manny Mua
You know what? That's like, part of my fucking peak actually lined up.
Laura Lee
Amazing Fridays like we have.
Manny Mua
So today we're gonna go watch Scary Movie, the movie in theater. All of us, our whole group, so excited to see that. You know, it's so funny because I didn't grow up watching Scary Movie because I just didn't watch those movies when I was younger. And I actually got introduced because Laura showed me the first scary movie, and I loved it so much. So now I'm, like, really excited.
Laura Lee
And those were the foundation of my childhood, baby.
Manny Mua
The Founding Fathers.
Laura Lee
They're where I got my sense of humor. Really?
Manny Mua
Really?
Laura Lee
Yeah.
Manny Mua
So then how. Why am I so funny if I didn't watch it?
Laura Lee
Trauma. You know what's funny, though? So the character Smokey in the scary movies, Manny always does his laugh. Do it, do it. It's like a running joke, dude. I have a running joke.
Manny Mua
I love it. It's just. It's so funny. No, I love the one that's like, gay but not gay.
Laura Lee
Yes.
Manny Mua
He's like, no, it doesn't make you look gay. And it's like his full, like.
Laura Lee
And they're like, no. And he's like, damn.
Manny Mua
Dang it.
Laura Lee
And then remember at the end, he's like, oh, I'm not gay.
Manny Mua
Why would you think that?
Laura Lee
It's so funny.
Manny Mua
I love it. They're just so funny. So I'm excited for that. But by the way, we're doing rapid fire. I know. We just got into it. You spilled again, baby. We are doing a rapid fire today, but we're just starting with peaks and pits. But I would say my peak is just, like, June, because June is Pride Month. And it's always just fun to celebrate a little bit more in June for the sake of. You know, there's like, whenever June comes around, there's a lot of posts that are, like. You know, a lot of people can get, like, sick of pride or annoyed with pride. And there's a lot of gay people, actually, that get annoyed with pride. And they're like, that's not what being gay is about, is, like, pride. Right? But the idea of pride is being about being proud of who you are and how you were born. So it's like expressing that in ways that people want to express it, whether it's loudly or quietly. And I think that it's really important to celebrate pride because a lot of people struggle with coming out, and a lot of people struggle with dealing with things in their families. And, you know, that's why a lot of gay people have their chosen families, and they might not have the best familial, you know, situations at hand. So I think it's important to celebrate pride and celebrate who you are. And I love seeing so many of you guys in my DMs and so many allies. And I'm surrounded by allies, truly, which is fantastic. But I just love celebrating Pride Month. Even if I'm not, like, you know, out and about at every single thing and doing the parade every single time, I'm just. I'm proud to be gay. And I'm like, I wouldn't have the life that I have if I wasn't gay. Yeah. Which is so crazy to think about, like, my sexuality. Owning it is what changed my life.
Laura Lee
Yeah.
Manny Mua
Like, it was not what it was before. So it's like, oh, my God. Being gay, like, kind of changed me and, like, changed my life in the positive.
Laura Lee
I sent Manny a picture the other day. I was in Alabama. I was like, this is my first gay friend.
Manny Mua
Oh, my God, it was so funny. From high school, girl? Yeah, from high school. It was so, like, it's so cool to see because I know, like, when, you know, growing up where you grew up, too, it's like, it was very intense. A lot of bullying and all that stuff like, that happened. So it's like, for someone to be, again, openly gay and proud in high school, that was.
Laura Lee
And I was such a kid then. Like, when you're a kid, you don't. And maybe some kids do, but I think most kids, you don't go through your life like, oh, let me see your whole life through your perspective instead of my own. Like, it doesn't run that deep. I just love gay people.
Manny Mua
From the job.
Laura Lee
Yes. From the jump. But also, I grew up in a household, in a family where we were such a disaster. Not saying gay people are a disaster, but we had no room to really be, like, you need to be this way. You have to do this. There's no structure. So it really didn't matter in my household. So I grew up just, like, with a really open heart of those things. And those things didn't matter either. You know what I mean? You don't ever go to church. That's not going to matter either. You're gay. That's not going to matter. So I always grew up, but as someone who's been a part of the gay community and ally have had gay friends basically my whole entire life, obviously a gay best friend had been a part of the gay community for 10 plus years. There are so many crazy stories that I have witnessed, heard, you know, with my gay tribe, that it just makes pride so important. It really makes pride so important. The older you get, you go, oh, my God. Like, that person must have been so isolated.
Manny Mua
Totally.
Laura Lee
You know what I mean? It's the isolation, especially, you know, you're a gay person living growing up in a church or a city where there aren't other gay people. That must be such an isolating experience, which that's like torture to a human being, because we're not meant to be isolated like that even here, unless it's a story like how isolating that in Brownsville, Texas. So pride is so important to me. Supporting my gay community is extremely important to me. And I just love that it's June.
Manny Mua
I know, Me too. I just love it. I love when the time comes around because it's like a little more extra love. And I always feel like I've been saying this, I've been talking about this. I do feel like things online and corporations are skewing more conservative and has been for the past, like, few years. And it feels like less open in ways because there's just been a lot of, you know, tumultuous energy out in the corporate world against the LGBT community due to different administrations. So it's nice that when June comes around, it does feel a little bit more celebratory than the rest of the year does, because sometimes it feels like people try to erase the gay community. They try to erase, you know, the lgbt, my queers out there. So it's nice when. When it comes down, it's like, it feels like a breath of fresh air where it's like. Like people celebrate it and it's light, the shadow, lighting.
Laura Lee
Yeah. I will say this. If you're going through your life right now and every close person to you, person in your circle, in your life doesn't have to be family, just people day to day that's close to you. And every single one of those people are just like, encourage you to spread your wings a little because you're missing out on some of the best people and the best parts of life. I think gay people in my life are some of the best parts of my life. And, like, what a privilege to get to experience that, you know? I have a gay best friend that's from the Middle east and he's Muslim. I have gay best friends from San Diego who's Mormon. I have gay best friend who's Catholic from Mexico. Like, I have gay friends, but they also have a complete. Came from completely different backgrounds and we all to come together. And I find that to be such a privilege for me to experience the cultures and the different sexualities. And that being one of the biggest privileges of my life. So when I see people and their circle, like for instance, if all my friends were just white girls that were like me from Alabama, you are missing out on some of the coolest, insightful, meaningful moments in life. And you know, so I just encourage you to spread your wings. You don't even know. You don't know what you're missing. So listen to me, just listen to me.
Manny Mua
Broaden your horizons.
Laura Lee
Broaden your horizons. Spread your wings. And the next time someone's not just like you, not the same color as you, not the same religion as you, even an atheist, don't be so quick to turn them away. Open your heart. Come from a different perspective. And it will literally do things to your life. It'll change your life for the better, for the best, for the best.
Manny Mua
I agree.
Laura Lee
So that's sweet. Yeah. Okay. So my, you guys, I ran the half marathon.
Manny Mua
This is like a feat. This is to be celebrated.
Laura Lee
This is a feat.
Manny Mua
This is monumentous.
Laura Lee
Oh, my God. It really is. I ran the half marathon.
Manny Mua
I was so impressed with you.
Laura Lee
Thank you.
Manny Mua
I was so proud. I was so impressed. And I knew we were gonna do honestly. And I knew you. I felt like you were ready. Low key, like weeks.
Laura Lee
I was, I was, I was ready.
Manny Mua
Were able to like finally accomplish it and like do it.
Laura Lee
Dude.
Manny Mua
Bitch, I saw you crossing and you're like this.
Laura Lee
Oh, girl, I had that.
Manny Mua
I thought I was like, yo, get that camera out.
Laura Lee
Someone said, bitch, you did back camera too.
Manny Mua
In 054K.
Laura Lee
4K. I said, I know that's right. I said, try being an influencer for a day. Try it.
Manny Mua
Try it.
Laura Lee
Okay. I took notes. Cuz there's a lot I want to say about this because I have been training from this. So I trained for this half marathon from January 1st till May 31st. Because the marathon was on May 31st.
Manny Mua
So six months.
Laura Lee
Six months. I spent six months of my life. I trained for this. When I was tired, I trained for this. When I had period cramps, I trained for this one time I was sick as a dog, I still ran 11 miles. I trained for this on my worst days, my tired days, my happy days, my sad days, I trained for this marathon. And like, I just get emotional, but it's like the pain you go through in training.
Manny Mua
Yeah. No, it's good. I think that it's like I've never
Laura Lee
put my body through something like that my whole entire life. Like, I'm not a fitness girl. Like, this is pathetic.
Manny Mua
I'm crying about it. Business girl. You are. You weren't.
Laura Lee
I were.
Manny Mua
I was.
Laura Lee
And I've never put myself through something like this before. And the fact that I did it is like, this is how it feels. It is a half marathon. And I cry.
Manny Mua
No, I think that's amazing. Also the thing is, like, imagine something that's been leading up to something. Of course you're going to cry.
Laura Lee
And you put so much.
Manny Mua
Of course. Like, it's like it's your. It's basically your body saying, holy fuck, we did it.
Laura Lee
Yeah.
Manny Mua
And so it comes out in tears. Like that's a normal reaction.
Laura Lee
Yep. So, guys, I'm emotional.
Manny Mua
You need it. Honestly, you had to. You had to cry it out.
Laura Lee
I have to cry it out. Okay, we'll start with this. So I took notes because there are little things I want to tell you guys because I talked to myself about it. So I ran the San Diego Half Marathon. 30, 000 people.
Manny Mua
Insane. And did not know it was that big.
Laura Lee
No, either.
Manny Mua
Had no clue.
Laura Lee
So Ty was like the rock and roll one in San Diego's like, pretty legit. Do you want to do that? Because remember, I had to move it by like two weeks.
Manny Mua
Yes.
Laura Lee
I was like, perfect, let's just sign up and do it.
Manny Mua
Is it that one? That's the one you did?
Laura Lee
Yeah.
Manny Mua
Got it.
Laura Lee
And they do it every year. 30,000 runners. Youngest runner was 8. Oldest runner was 90. He ran the full. It was his first marathon and he trained for it. 90. How crazy. Finished it too. Okay. So I woke up at 4:30 in the morning. My. I ate two bananas and half a bagel. And I was. I was telling Manny I was cracking
Manny Mua
up because you posted what I said to you on your stories. Because I. I just knew in my bones I'm like, laura doesn't want to eat this. Oh my God. She cannot put this down right now. She's pissed. She's eating this at 4am and you know what?
Laura Lee
Nothing in the world could ever get me to do that. But whenever you train so hard for so long for something, you won't let those things stop you because you know you need it for fuel. And it's gonna like to do this. You have to do it. So those things are actually as tough as they are. They're some of the smallest things you'll do for yourself. You know, like getting two bananas and a bagel down at 4:30 in the morning is insane, insane business. But at the same time, it's nothing compared to what I did for this.
Manny Mua
Exactly.
Laura Lee
So whenever the time comes, you're like, I don't give a. I don't give a.
Manny Mua
We're doing it.
Laura Lee
Like, we'll do it, we'll do it. So that was really cool. I broke. I did my. I did my fastest marathon. I was a 9:16 pace. 9 minutes and 16 seconds per mile average. So I landed at 2 hours and 1 minute. But I didn't stop my watch, which is what's tracking me when I ran through the finish line. Just because I ran through the finish line and it was like a million people and they're putting in a thing on you and you're like, ah. And then I was like, oh, my watch. So I think I technically ran it two hours exactly.
Manny Mua
Flat. Love that.
Laura Lee
Which was incredible.
Manny Mua
That was your goal too.
Laura Lee
That was my goal. To do a half marathon in two hours. Here's the thing, something I did. So this is my first marathon. So I don't know how they work. And this was a bigger one because it was 30,000 people. So it's called a coral and that's your pace and their corral. And so they. It was like one through probably 29 or 30 corrals.
Manny Mua
Okay.
Laura Lee
So there's a bunch of different ton groups. So ton of different groups. So I took the corral serious. And I didn't know that like in marathons like this, they don't care.
Manny Mua
Okay.
Laura Lee
So I jumped in my corral number. But then I noticed everybody beside me was like all different numbers. And I was like, oh, this marathon, like they're not serious about the corral. So I ended up like towards the back of 30,000 people starting. So the first two miles was shoulder to shoulder running. I could not get my pace up because I couldn't get around people. And in mile one and two, you have the most energy to blow it out. And I just, I was at a 9:40 pace. I kept looking at my watch, I was like, I couldn't get around people. Was just way too crowded. So some other marathon runners gave me a bunch of tips on how to avoid that next time. They were like, you'll totally blow it out. Because I think I could have done like an 8:55 pace per mile average. But I kept getting slowed down.
Manny Mua
Your highest, I think.
Laura Lee
Yeah. Oh yeah.
Manny Mua
That would have been my highest Excitement adds to your Speed, in a way.
Laura Lee
Let me just tell you something.
Manny Mua
You like that?
Laura Lee
Like, it's an experience that came and describe. It's nothing. Running a marathon is nothing like going and running by yourself. It is nothing.
Manny Mua
Like energy around you is like lifting your.
Laura Lee
Imagine 30,000 people were all doing this hard thing and everyone's like, yeah, you ain't stopping. You ain't slowing down. Like, it's crazy. Yeah. Everybody is like, I don't know, it's such a cool ass experience. So I did a lot of like jumping out to like run outside the cones to get around people. A lot of the faster runners were doing that and I would just do it behind them. So I was able to pick up a little speed. But okay, so the San Diego marathon, everybody keeps talking about, hey, at mile 10, there's a crazy hill. And they kept saying it and I was like, I didn't know that when I signed up. You know what I mean?
Manny Mua
They're like, there's this so hilly though. It's like mountainous.
Laura Lee
It is. So the whole marathon was actually. There's a big portion of in the middle that wasn't hilly. But whenever you're completely depleted at the end, girl, you hit the hills. And I'm talking about crazy hills. So. So at first, so we went up some hills, I was like, that must have been it. And then I saw this, like, this hill and I was like, oh, my God, that's the fucking hill everybody's talking about. And the only thing that sucked about the hills was it slows everybody down. So it was hard for me to get around people because it's like hitting a brick wall. Because everybody just kind of like starts walking the hill. And I'm like, no, bitch, I trained for this. I'm running this hill. So it was hard to get around people. But I did run the whole hill. No stops, just busted right through. It blisters on all my toes. Every single part of my legs are tore up. I have shin splints, I have calf pain, I have hip pain, I have hamstring pain, I have glute pain. But if I did it, I'd be pissed the fuck off. I'm going to tell you that, right?
Manny Mua
Because you like kind of went all out for it.
Laura Lee
And I wasn't chewed up. This is Tuesday. I ran it on Sunday. If I wasn't chewed up right now, I'd be pissed off at myself.
Manny Mua
Right? It's like, girl, then you need to run it.
Laura Lee
Yeah. You know, you didn't give it your own. I wanted to give this, like, everything I had in me. And I feel like the only thing it held me back, it was just a little too crowded.
Manny Mua
Totally.
Laura Lee
So I couldn't.
Manny Mua
And that's not even like on you. That's just, like, situational.
Laura Lee
He was situational, which. That's like doing marathons and learning.
Manny Mua
That's part of it. Yeah. This episode of full coverage is brought to you by booking.com I got to say, you guys, if you're looking to grow your vacation rental business, this is the place to be. Laura Lee
oh Ty ran around the city so he can meet me up. Mile 10 it's so special. By the way, people that cheer you on a marathon, it helps runners more than you think it does. Even if they're not looking at you. Even if they're not, like tapping your signs and like giving you a high five. I promise you people that wake up at 6am on a Sunday to cheer marathon runners on. You're like the real MVPs. Because it really does help. It helps runners.
Manny Mua
Does it help kind of the hype building?
Laura Lee
Yeah. The moment it helps the moment it helps so much.
Manny Mua
I love that.
Laura Lee
It's incredible.
Manny Mua
I always wondered like too like if that made a difference.
Laura Lee
Huge, huge difference. It's like, so if you do that, just know you're Making a huge difference in 30,000.
Manny Mua
You're an angel.
Laura Lee
You're an angel. Literally, you really are. Mile 11. So since mile 10 was, like, up uphill, almost the entire mile 11 was all downhill. And you might be like, that's true.
Manny Mua
I think that might worse. Actually. Going down is worse for, like, your shins.
Laura Lee
It takes so much tightness and strength because you have to trot downhill so you don't your body up or blow a knee out and get injured. It's a trot. But you also want to keep your pace, so you want to trot quickly, and it ignites parts of your body and abs that you didn't even know and everything that you don't even know you have. I had blisters everywhere. And by the way, I wore the shoes and socks I've done all my runs in, and it was the hills. It's crazy. Which I loved. I trust me, those blisters had nothing on me. And, yeah, running through the. Oh. And then I remember getting really upset at mile 11 because it was almost over. Whenever we were on my 11, I saw, like, that my watch just kept moving so quickly through the times. I was like. I almost started to cry because I was like, this is it. This is, like my last two miles. I did all this for six months and then two hours. Just two hours of a day. It's over. It's done. I was so sad. Like, I was like, this hurt, you know, But I was like, this is it. And I was, like, so happy to go to the finish line, but also, like, kind of sad.
Manny Mua
Yeah, of course. Because it's like a finality in a way. It's like. Yeah, it's like a. You. When you reach that goal, it's the happiest thing ever, but you reach the goal. So then it's like, well, what's my next goal?
Laura Lee
So almost, in a way.
Manny Mua
But this is also why marathon people love doing marathons, because then it's the next one that they have. Like, okay, I just did this marathon. Now I have another marathon to, like, look forward to. So it's almost like you move the goalpost for yourself. Because we're human, and we want to better ourselves constantly.
Laura Lee
Yeah. So would you.
Manny Mua
Would you ever do another marathon? Would you ever play doing another one?
Laura Lee
Signed up October 24th, baby.
Manny Mua
Full or half?
Laura Lee
Half.
Manny Mua
Yeah.
Laura Lee
I talked to some of marathon friends, so I'm gonna train, train, train, train, train for this next one so hard you guys don't even know. I'm giving myself two weeks off. I'm gonna do like a two mile run, a three mile run for a bit. We're having fun.
Manny Mua
Totally.
Laura Lee
And then after, I'm gonna blow it out for this next, God willing with, you know, God willing I can seriously. In October, I plan on like going hardcore. It's another half marathon. I'm gonna work my way to a full eventually and then I'm gonna start doing half marathons for fun.
Manny Mua
Yeah, more like fun for fun instead
Laura Lee
of like a competition with myself and I mean because now you're able to do it because half the people out there are dead ass serious and they're working for something. And the other half, people out there, like whenever we went through the neighborhood, everybody was getting drunk as. Yeah, just like jello shots. They would give you vodka shots. They even had be little shot glasses. And those tables were like packed with people lined up to get their shots of alcohol. Like it is a full party. Yeah. So like people out there having fun. If I wasn't to the back, I wouldn't have seen that as much. There were drag queens performing. Yes. The whole thing. So, you know, a lot of people are out there for fun. And I want to do a marathon for fun and film it.
Manny Mua
Love it.
Laura Lee
Cuz I couldn't film this one.
Manny Mua
Of course you're serious for you at that, at that point.
Laura Lee
And then something else that was really special. So you jump in this huge pack with like 30,000 runners and I hear Laura Lee. I took a picture of a bunch of people, by the way, as I was running, some people DM me. They're like, I was scared to say hey, you look like you were working. I was. But you can always say hey to me. I will still take a picture with you. I don't give a. I was running, doing videos with people, taking pictures while we were literally running. So you can always stop me still and we'll run together. But to start the race, a girl was like, hey, I watched you forever. You know, I was chatting her up a little bit. She was full fam.
Manny Mua
No.
Laura Lee
Yes. And we hung out the whole time until it was time for us to race. So I hung out with a podcast. Full fam member.
Manny Mua
I love that.
Laura Lee
Yeah. How cool is that?
Manny Mua
That is so sweet. Oh my God, I hope she hears this.
Laura Lee
I do too. And her friend had ran this one before. So her friend gave me the lowdown on everything I was about to experience, which was kind of nice. No. Yeah. No. She was like, okay, there's a, there's, there's, there's this. And then I call Karen and Kara's like, what about the hill? I was like, you too? She was like, there's a hill, so. And a lot of people hit me up and they were like, I commend you on making San Diego your first half.
Manny Mua
And I was like, is it because it's a harder one?
Laura Lee
It's a hard one. But I didn't know.
Manny Mua
Yeah, of course. You're like, I should get one. I gotta cancel my last one. I'm getting one.
Laura Lee
Yes. But I'm so proud because, like, I worked for a challenging marathon.
Manny Mua
Right?
Laura Lee
I worked for a challenging marathon and that's what I wanted.
Manny Mua
And you're able to do it.
Laura Lee
Oh, yeah.
Manny Mua
Better than, like, even if you had, like a hairline, even here, like, 100%. You ate it up.
Laura Lee
100%. So I had a 170 heart rate the entire time.
Manny Mua
Oh, it was up there, bitch.
Laura Lee
170 for two hours straight. Yeah. Busted.
Manny Mua
Like, pumping blood through the veins like this.
Laura Lee
I just didn't even care.
Manny Mua
Of course not. The jaws of the adrenaline. It's the adrenaline plus the people. Like you were saying, the crowd.
Laura Lee
Yeah.
Manny Mua
All that stuff adds to you even getting faster.
Laura Lee
And you're watching people, like, bust their ass out there. You're. I'm gonna do it too. Like, you know what I mean? Like, there's so many runners who are soaked. You can tell they're breathing so hard and, like, fighting for it. And like, that's inspiring, you know, whenever you're running. Beside that. Yeah.
Manny Mua
I love that. I'm so proud of you.
Laura Lee
I'm so glad you did. One of the best experience of my life.
Manny Mua
You'll never forget that.
Laura Lee
Like, I get emotional, but I'll never forget it.
Manny Mua
I love it. I love. That was your first one.
Laura Lee
I know.
Manny Mua
And like, not. And like the first of many, truly, like, that's something that could be like. It's like a passion of yours. It's become a passion. So it's like, until the world really. Yeah, literally. And also that's like, dude, I'm telling you, running, that's gonna give you a life forever.
Laura Lee
It will. It will.
Manny Mua
Like, cardiovascular, babe. Will keep you alive for and movie next level, which I'm like, very impressed. It's very superwoman of you. It's like, very, very impressive. So I can't even run three miles, so.
Laura Lee
Listen, most people don't.
Manny Mua
I know. That's why. That's why it's, like, so impressive.
Laura Lee
I think we should all do a 5k together. It's three miles.
Manny Mua
I think we should too.
Laura Lee
You can walk some of it too. Like, you don't have to. Yes, it's for the experience. You do not have to run a full marathon. You can walk some of it. So if we did a 3k or
Manny Mua
like you're saying a 5k, if it's only three, not only three miles, which is a lot.
Laura Lee
But it's a lot. It's a lot.
Manny Mua
But again, in that situation, the energy, like everything is getting you.
Laura Lee
It's different.
Manny Mua
It's not like you're just like, let's run three miles right now. I'm like, I don't want to.
Laura Lee
To. Yeah.
Manny Mua
You know what I mean?
Laura Lee
That experience, it's the experience worth it.
Manny Mua
Like Nick was saying, like, he literally was like, he had friends doing marathons that like never even ran. Because it's the experience.
Laura Lee
People want the experience. You know, they're like, humans are so lazy. I'm like, are they? Because it was this many people. We started at 6am was the marathon. So everybody's up at 4, 4:30 in the morning and it's 30,000. So you can get 30,000 people like that to get up at 4:30 in the morning and go run. I don't think humans are that lazy. Now, granted, 1% of Earth marathon runners.
Manny Mua
1.
Laura Lee
It's like 0.1.
Manny Mua
I was gonna say 1 is a lot.
Laura Lee
No, it's like 0.1.
Manny Mua
That makes. That makes more sense.
Laura Lee
Have ever ran a marathon? So I will say, I guess not. It seems like a lot of people do it though.
Manny Mua
I mean, you're also gonna crowd of people.
Laura Lee
Also. California has a massive running community.
Manny Mua
I mean, it's California.
Laura Lee
California is like the runner nation, man.
Manny Mua
Like, how do you not run in this weather?
Laura Lee
That's why I think that's why is the weather.
Manny Mua
Absolutely. It's like the perfect running altitude. Perfect because it's like we're at ground level or sea level and the weather, it's like, how can you not the weather, you know?
Laura Lee
Amazing.
Manny Mua
Love it.
Laura Lee
Yep. Best day ever. Best fucking day ever. My next marathon, I'm jumping in a faster corral and I'm gonna tear it up, bitch.
Manny Mua
Yes, I'm tear it up. And it's gonna be for fun too.
Laura Lee
I'm gonna do it eventually for fun. Not my next one.
Manny Mua
Oh, not your next one. So you'll do it eventually for fun?
Laura Lee
Yeah, I just have something I want to accomplish first and then I'm gonna have a good ass time after that.
Manny Mua
Once you get your like accomplishment down.
Laura Lee
Yeah.
Manny Mua
Love it. I love it. What's my pet. Oh, my pit. So, so embarrassing. Dude.
Laura Lee
I love this story so much, you guys.
Manny Mua
So I. I posted, actually, on my stories. I was like, bro, why does this embarrassing shit fucking happened to me? Let me tell the story. So I'm at the gym, I'm working out, and the fucking fire alarm goes off. The entire. Not just the gym, the entire building fire alarm goes off through the whole space. I'm talking, like, our gym. And it wasn't like a. Oh, it's like a drill. I thought it was a drill. People come up and they're like, everyone needs to get out right now. Like, it's like a hurry. Like, get the out. Like, there's a fire in the building. Not necessarily a fire in the gym, but there's a fire in the building.
Laura Lee
The gym's attached.
Manny Mua
Everyone get out now. Like, they weren't. This is not a drill. Like, you have to go. So everyone's, like, flooding out, and I'm like, holy. Like, I'm kind of, like, freaked out right at this point. Everyone's flooding out. I just got, like, two workouts in. I was so annoyed because I was like, I didn't get to work out. So I'm like, on my phone, I'm texting you. You caused this. So I'm texting you. And so, you know, like, when you're going through a parking garage, there's, like, that little bar. Bar that goes up and down that kind of does this thing right? Where it's like a little.
Laura Lee
You, like, pull a ticket, and the bar lifts for your car to come through, and it closes behind you for the next person to pull that.
Manny Mua
So I'm walking through. Like, I'm walking towards my car. Obviously, there's a gazillion people around me because we're all flooding to our cars at this point. And I'm wearing.
Laura Lee
Just gonna go home.
Manny Mua
Yeah. Because I was like, yeah, okay. Well, I'm not gonna wait and just, like, wait outside. Just like when they let me back into the gym. So. So I'm walking in, and I have a hat on. Okay. That adds to the story, because now I understand. I'm like. That's why I didn't see right above me, because I have a hat that's covering my line of sight. So I'm walking through, and a car is coming out, but I'm not paying attention, right. I'm on my phone because I'm, like, literally texting. I'm like, oh, my God. Like, I'm literally getting kicked out of the fucking Gym right now. Like, this is fucking crazy. I'm walking forward, you guys, in front of everyone. The fucking arm slams on me. The fucking garage fucking pole hits me on my head, knocks my hat off. Hits me in my cloud. Go. I'm like, oh.
Laura Lee
Like, knocks Manny down.
Manny Mua
Knocks me fucking down.
Laura Lee
Everybody's out there, by the way.
Manny Mua
Everyone's outside. Everyone's behind me. And you're.
Laura Lee
Oh, it was me. Imagine.
Manny Mua
I'm like, oh, shit. I'm like, laura, why you're here? And I literally. Like, of course. I get. I'm like. I literally refresh my. I'm like, oh. Oh, fuck.
Laura Lee
You try. Like, nothing happened.
Manny Mua
I act like nothing happened to me. I pick up my hat. Cause of course my hair's like, me under my hat. I literally am bruised here, you guys, from it going down and hitting me like this. Could you imagine getting hit by a garage door? Girl, that thing is fierce, and it's intense.
Laura Lee
I love that it knocked your hat off your head.
Manny Mua
That was the worst part. How embarrassed.
Laura Lee
I'll pierce the bruise.
Manny Mua
I'll keep the bruise. I'll keep knocking over the hat coming off. That was nasty work. So, you guys, I'm literally. There's 50 people behind me, and I'm not paying attention, and the garage thing hits me, and I go down. Tragic, mind you. And I'm not, like, a follower. Like, I'm not, like, a clumsy person that got me together. And of course, I act like nothing ever happened. I was like, oh, my God. Like, what the. Like, ain't nothing. Like, I'm good, but I know.
Laura Lee
Oh, I know. You try to play it off.
Manny Mua
I had, like, headphones in, and I still heard, like, oh. And I'm like, I don't think I could ever go back to that gym. Like, I just think that I can't.
Laura Lee
It's a rap, babe.
Manny Mua
Ever again.
Laura Lee
It's a rap.
Manny Mua
Was that the guy that walked through the pole and hit it going in?
Laura Lee
Chopped.
Manny Mua
And I realized, because I was like, why? How did I. Yes, I was on my phone, but you have peripheral vision. You can, like, see around, but with the hat on. I didn't see above me to, like, act that it was coming down to chop me. I got chopped, bro.

Manny Mua
Laura says you would pay money to.
Laura Lee
I would. I was like, I want the security footage.
Manny Mua
No.
Laura Lee
Right.
Manny Mua
I need all that deleted and erased from any camera that I think you
Laura Lee
need to wrap it up here because there's another story that makes me laugh to this day where Manny gets caught up, but he commits, he commits to
Manny Mua
the bit I committed to the lying bit. Unfortunately, there was this one moment that I was at this gym and again, you take a little thingy from the, the garage and you keep your ticket and then you get it validated and then you leave, right? So I had lost my ticket. Mind you, I never lose my ticket. I always keep it in my left pocket. It's just like very much, I'm very good about my tickets, but the tickets are literally like, they're like a card. It's like a little piece of paper that's like, yep, a whisk. Tiny little wisp, little whisky. So I guess when I was working out, it just like come out, came out of my pocket. So I was like, dude. So then I was like, okay. I always see people that can like click the button and like talk and then like they get through, right? So there must be like some type of situation, right? So I get to the front and I'm like, I'm not. Oh, get this. It was $32 to leave.
Laura Lee
Damn.
Manny Mua
Without the ticket.
Laura Lee
So if you lose your ticket, you lose your ticket.
Manny Mua
It was, it was. That actually was, I think 36. It was like, well, I was like, I'm not paying $36. I was here for an hour. Like, I'm not doing that. Right? So then I was like, I'll just click and be like, oh my God. Like the machine ate my ticket. I don't know why it's not working. So I put them thing in, I click the button. I'm like, hey, I'm sorry. Like the machine in my ticket, like, I don't know what happened. Like, it won't open. A man comes out.
Laura Lee
Oh.
Manny Mua
And goes up to the thing. It was like, hey, what's wrong? And I was like, oh. Like, the machine, like, it, like, stopped working. It, like, didn't. It took my ticket, and it never came back out. He opens the machine, he goes. He, like, puts his thing in. He's like, there's no ticket in here.
Laura Lee
The machine's empty.
Manny Mua
The machine's empty. There's no ticket here. And I was like, I put it in there. I don't know what you're talking about. So. Because I'm so committed to the. At this point.
Laura Lee
I mean, you straight up told the man you put a ticket.
Manny Mua
I told him I put a ticket in.
Laura Lee
Are you gonna be like,
Manny Mua
no, I'm committed. I was like, well, I don't know what happened to the ticket. And we're literally in a standoff.
Laura Lee
He's, like, eye to eye.
Manny Mua
Like, he's like this.
Laura Lee
But there's no ticket in the machine.
Manny Mua
But there's no ticket here. And I was like, but I put it in.
Laura Lee
Oh, I know. You pinched that nose.
Manny Mua
I did. No. And listen, I'm not the type of person that like, like, does this. Like, I'm not committing to the bit. I'm never, like, lying. Right. I'm perfect. You know that. I would never do such a thing. So I was like, I don't know. In those moments, I don't know how to act. Like, I'm literally like, I don't, like, really do this.
Laura Lee
You can't get out of the line. It's too far.
Manny Mua
I was too far. I was too far gone. And I wasn't paying $36 now, so I was really like, I don't know what happened to. I just. He's like, it's on here, though. But I put it in.
Laura Lee
That's amazing.
Manny Mua
Of course. I was like, but I put the ticket in. That's so weird. So of course I go into the. That's so strange. Like, I don't know what could have happened to it.
Laura Lee
You gave him the Melania.
Manny Mua
Don't know what happened to it. If I put it in there.
Laura Lee
Oh, I'm so fucking deaf.
Manny Mua
He's like, next time you lose your ticket, you should just, like, go in and get a new one or just pay for it.
Laura Lee
Just pay for it, babe.
Manny Mua
Thank you.
Laura Lee
So he let you go?
Manny Mua
He let me go.
Laura Lee
He knew you were lying.
Manny Mua
He knew I was just telling you, bitch. Cause I was not. I'm just not a good liar. In that situation. I'm just not good in that situation.
Laura Lee
Girl, that's crazy, though. You know what I mean? Cause I would have committed to the bid, too.
Manny Mua
See, the thing is also already committed. How am I gonna get out?
Laura Lee
Very, very real with you. I would have easily paid the $36 because I am the type of person who doesn't want to talk to anyone.
Manny Mua
I know.
Laura Lee
I'll give you $50 if I don't have to talk to you right here, right now. If you.
Manny Mua
You know what it was Principal can wait.
Laura Lee
It was. It was.
Manny Mua
I was upset. It was because I never lose my ticket and I never pay for it. And the day that I do, I get a guy coming out, I'm mad. $36 for one hour. Fuck you.
Laura Lee
Oh, yeah. Fuck off.
Manny Mua
That's how I felt. I'm like, no, it's Howie Robbery. You're sitting. I'm not paying this. It was almost like the principle of me having to pay. I was like, I'm not paying that.
Laura Lee
Yeah, that's.
Manny Mua
And I lost my ticket. Yeah, the machine ate it.
Laura Lee
Yeah.
Manny Mua
Really? Because it's not here. Yeah, it was. It. Wait. I'm not kidding you. For like a minute straight.
Laura Lee
And that's like torture a long time.
Manny Mua
I'll never forget that. And you love to bring.
Laura Lee
That is my favorite story. It's one of my favorite stories. You getting caught and committing. It's so.
Manny Mua
And still committing. Committing to the lie is sick. It's. But I couldn't. I couldn't avoid it.
Laura Lee
Funny to me. It's nasty, nasty, nasty.
Manny Mua
What's your pit?
Laura Lee
I don't know, Laura. Okay, listen, this is a lame ass pit, but I put this on close friends so you can confirm. My house looks like a fucking bomb went off in it. Okay. Does it not?
Manny Mua
I can't confirm because I did see on Close Friends.
Laura Lee
Like, I showed my filming studio. You can't even sit, like. Like, it's insane. And what it is, is it's like two weeks worth of work and get readies and TikToks and YouTube videos. You guys have no idea how much
Manny Mua
shit and product probably being an influencer for.
Laura Lee
It's so hard. You guys are like, shut that.
Manny Mua
Like, shut the fuck up. But it is looking.
Laura Lee
It is brutal. Mine, it's brutal, okay? The amount of influencers that DM me on Close friends and go, oh, so we're all the same. Literally. I know this sounds corny, but it made me feel better.
Manny Mua
Oh, really?
Laura Lee
Yeah, it actually did you not think
Manny Mua
that everyone had the same Kind of situation.
Laura Lee
Because I don't think anyone else films as much content as me. And you.
Manny Mua
And you.
Laura Lee
You film like a very similar amount as me.
Manny Mua
So you still do more than me.
Laura Lee
I feel a lot.
Manny Mua
We're definitely like.
Laura Lee
That's the only reason. Because I feel like like a lot of people in my close friends are more so like OGs. Yeah. Maybe aren't uploading every day. And that's okay. Do whatever you want to do. That's your platform. But like I'm still filming YouTube videos.
Manny Mua
Totally.
Laura Lee
And you are too. And like I'm doing a whole ass podcast. I'm doing a tick tock every single day.
Manny Mua
Right.
Laura Lee
I'm doing. You know what I mean? Like I'm filming a. I'm filming amount of content that a 20 year old is filming right now.
Manny Mua
Right.
Laura Lee
That's sinister.
Manny Mua
I want you to film no 6 tick tocks a day.
Laura Lee
Oh, that's literally what the kids do. But see, they don't do YouTube videos. So if you add up all the shit we do, girl, I don't know
Manny Mua
how these kids do it.
Laura Lee
I know. Well, I do because we used to do it.
Manny Mua
That's true.
Laura Lee
But you know, but the thing is we haven't tapered just put it in different places like podcasts and YouTube video. We're still doing it all. So it's a lot. I'm not trying to complain. All I'm saying is my is, yeah, the time. So I always on the weekend. So I just let it on Monday I start and I just let get wrecked. And I know I'm a Virgo and you would think it's all perfect. I know where everything is. That's why I don't have like an assistant come in and just go put everything away because it would be a disaster from there, you know, Like I'll never find anything again.
Manny Mua
The thing is for you, it's like, like I'll just do it myself.
Laura Lee
Yes. I'm very that coded. Very that coded. So on the weekend I just. It honestly takes me less than an hour. Boom. Once over. Boom, boom, boom. I put it all away, clean it up, vacuum done. Easy wipe down the counters. It's literally probably takes me 45 minutes.
Manny Mua
Yeah.
Laura Lee
So I do it every single weekend. But I was gone this weekend and it was just like the busiest week. And then look Monday filmed three videos today, entire podcast plus videos I filmed this morning there. So to. It's literally gonna be swimming in.
Manny Mua
Oh. It's like. I just know it's a disaster.
Laura Lee
It is nuts.
Manny Mua
Like It's.
Laura Lee
It's like worse than like the worst dirty bedroom you've ever seen.
Manny Mua
100.
Laura Lee
And it's like nasty. There's like protein shakes and like cups with half Dr. Pepper and water bottles. Yes.
Manny Mua
Waters and yes. Just bull. I have on my desk, you guys. It's constantly mine, my desk. I have an assistant who does come in and help me with like, random things, but she does clear my desk Monday, Wednesday, Friday. So I gotta have clearing in some
Laura Lee
mine Just piles and builds.
Manny Mua
But you're just piles and builds. So it's like min. Probably pile and build if I wasn't doing it every other day, you know, or some. Somehow it wasn't getting done every single day. But it like, it's funny because I'm. I bet like a lot of our girlies out there who are glam girlies, you know exactly what we're talking about. Because I'm sure when you're doing your glam, like, let's say if you're sitting at your desk or you're glamming, if you have a vanity or whatever it might be in your bathroom, that shit's. And I know it. Like, I know your is all over the place.
Laura Lee
Yep. It's fucked.
Manny Mua
Because it just. Like, that's just how it works.
Laura Lee
Yep.
Manny Mua
That's just how glam is. There's too many steps.
Laura Lee
There's too many steps.
Manny Mua
So you have so many products to do.
Laura Lee
Also, being efficient, this coming from a Virgo, but like Amazon, in the work world, they consider being more efficient is not doing multiple things at the same time. So people will be like, why don't you put it away as you go? That's technically not being efficient. To be efficient, you should do what you're doing and then when you're done, put it all away at the same time. Like as in, like, we're cleaning now. That's technically a more efficient way to
Manny Mua
do things because it takes longer to take. The longer as you're doing this, you're gonna.
Laura Lee
Because you're stopping, you're putting away, you're going. So that's technically not an efficient way to work. Like on businesses. That's why they have assembly lines where you do one repetitively. Instead of this part, then that part. This part. Yeah, that's why. Because that's technically the most efficient way to work.
Manny Mua
I didn't even know that was like, really?
Laura Lee
It's a whole thing.
Manny Mua
But it makes sense. I mean, logically, it totally makes sense. Think of it as like a efficiency, like spectrum. You know what I mean there's an
Laura Lee
efficiency spectrum and to do just hone in focus on what you're doing. Hone in focus on cleaning it. That's the more efficient route.
Manny Mua
I love that. I still want to clean it.
Laura Lee
I know that's where I. That's why I actually like cleaning it. I don't like filming. I like cleaning.
Manny Mua
I would literally do. Okay, do what's my thing, Laura. I could film six videos in a row.
Laura Lee
Editing.
Manny Mua
Editing.
Laura Lee
Laura, you know what?
Manny Mua
So what I try to do is I try to film 3 to 4 per sit down sesh.
Laura Lee
That's a lot, Minnie.
Manny Mua
I know.
Laura Lee
I can only do 3 max for short form.
Manny Mua
I've only ever done 4 when it's like a voiceover.
Laura Lee
Okay, okay. It's hard though for tea, that energy going.
Manny Mua
But it's hard to get the energy going. So like I'll do like let's say too long form, like talking too short. But I'm trying to do like the four in one sitting so I can film those things.
Progressive Commercial Announcer
Things.
Manny Mua
The hard part is accumulating everything that I've filmed, condensing it and then posting those things throughout. Because I'm editing all the content because I. Oh, I. And I know you do too edit all of our own short form content. So it's like that's kind of a lot.
Laura Lee
Yeah. Also I like did the math. So this morning I edited. By the way, we're not trying to complain. We're just staying what it is. We're just saying what it is. This is us just yapping. We're not like there's really trying to get anyone to feel bad for us. We're fine. But I edited two tick tock reels this morning and took me two hours. That's two hours of editing.
Manny Mua
That's not including.
Laura Lee
Way less time to film it though. Yeah, but not even including the filming. So filming way editing is the pits of hell.
Manny Mua
That's how I feel too. I edited one this morning as well. Took an hour, but I was adding one from the ones I did yesterday. So I was trying to like. And mind you, you, today's too busy of a day. I can't even post it.
Laura Lee
Yeah.
Manny Mua
So I'm like waiting again to accumulate for like tomorrow. So it's like a lot. It's just like a. It's just a cascading thing Again, very privileged, very great job. Like we're so lucky to have this job. It's just like more about time management because when you work for yourself, you have to kind of do Everything. And it's about managing what you're doing. And I think that's the part that you're like, oh, like, I have to make sure you're hitting, like, all your little ducks. You know what I'm saying?
Laura Lee
Sometimes there's a lot of ducks, and
Manny Mua
sometimes there's a lot of ducks. Especially when you're doing. When you're an entrepreneur, there's a lot of duck. Always.
Laura Lee
Yep.
Manny Mua
You know, when you work for yourself, you want to do things that have a range of things. So it's like, of course we're going to have. We have every platform, not just one.
Laura Lee
That's right.
Manny Mua
You know.
Laura Lee
That's right. So. Well, we have some topics to talk to you guys about.
Manny Mua
Can we talk about the Patagonia? Oh, let's feel like that is like, I am seeing the Patagonia Patagonia situation all over. All over my Instagram, all over my TikTok. I'm seeing it everywhere.
Laura Lee
Yep. It's blown up. Absolutely.
Manny Mua
And it's like cr. It's crazy. I did not know. And the thing is, I didn't know, like, the ins and outs of it. So there's a drag queen named Patagonia and the brand Patagonia, so they're in, like, a actual, like, legal dispute.
Laura Lee
So Patagonia, the drag queen, technically, because she's like, her theme as a drag queen is outdoorsy.
Manny Mua
Yes.
Laura Lee
So that was the spoof name. It was a spoof name off the brand. Patagonia. Patagonia. So I'm gonna name it. That's what drag queens do. And the brand knows, like, the brand was fine with that. And they don't care. They're like, your name's Patty Gagne. Because it's been her name for years.
Manny Mua
Right, Patty?
Laura Lee
There's nothing been coming of it. However, she made merch and then wanted to start trademarking. And that is whenever the brand stepped in and hit her with a $1 lawsuit. But they're not suing her. It's a $1 lawsuit because they're not suing her for money. They're. They don't want her to be able to trademark the name because they have a trademark brand name, Patagonia 100.
Manny Mua
And it's so funny. So I watched her video first, and I just felt for her because I was like, the corporation. I'm so much like, I'm that person where I'm like, no, I believe in the little guy. You know, Like, I'm just how I feel instinctively watching it. And I'm like, They're trying to silence her. Like, that was just my immediate first impression. And then I saw the Patagonia response, and once I understood, like, the trademarking situation, I was kind of like, bug, like, you almost, like, see both sides. Yeah, in a way, because I feel for patients wanting to, you know, be a queen who's out there and, like, you know, I love the fact that she's about the outdoors and, like, you know, raising money and, like, campaigning for people to go doors and, like, save the wilderness at this point, you know, And I think that's something that's so needed. But then I also really believe in the fact that in the legal cases of trademarking and, you know, as people
Laura Lee
we know with brands, I know, like,
Manny Mua
as a brand, I was like, you. You cannot have. Have brands infringing on your brand, because then what's the point of going through the legal.
Laura Lee
Opens the door for. So I don't think they think. I think. I don't think Patagonia thinks Patagonia is gonna overhaul the brand. Patagonia. I think the point for them is, is like, we can't just let you do it. You know what I mean? Because what that does is open the door for anyone else to do it, and that is going to cause a problem for Patagonia.
Manny Mua
Right.
Laura Lee
So we have to stop it here. And from what I understand, it seemed like the problem was, was when she tried to trademark it also, I saw, like.
Manny Mua
So people were talking about, like, the merch. The merch that she came out with. And I saw she came out with a sticker, or it's like a sticker. It's like a patch or something like that. And it was similar to Patagonia's.
Laura Lee
It's like a spoon.
Manny Mua
It was like. Like a queen hiking spoof. And that I felt like was really close to the Patagonia thing. So I'm like. I feel like that one is. Is more so infringing on, like, their branding and their trademarking and their situation. But see, the part that confused me was, like, the fact that Patagonia was trademarking when Patagonia already trademarked. And I think that's the part where it's confusing because it's like, it makes sense as the corporation to be like, well, you can't do that, because then if we let you do that, then it lets you do it. And we're a company.
Laura Lee
Slippery slope. It's a tricky, tricky trick.
Manny Mua
It is tricky.
Laura Lee
And this is coming from someone who got hit with a potential lawsuit myself for my business name and had to completely change my business because of it. Because of trademarking a brand that's much bigger than me had already trademarked one of the words in Nudie patootie. And I was filing for trademarking of nudie Patootie under clothing.
Manny Mua
Right.
Laura Lee
And whenever I went to make that file, that is how their legal team caught me. Which is the exact same for probably Patagonia.
Manny Mua
Right. Just like that.
Laura Lee
It popped up for them. And they were like. And then we even try to work with them. Like, we'll change. Changed the spelling. And they explained to me it does not matter how you spell something. Trademarking matters how it sounds and likeness. So, like, if the logos look the same and how it's pronounced.
Manny Mua
I see.
Laura Lee
So Patagonia's Patty Gonia. It's very close. And I probably would have lost that lawsuit even though we didn't have the exact same brand names. And I think that's what Patty Gonia is probably gonna face. So it did sound like though. And. And listen. I feel so bad. Like this. Listen, look at me. I thing it blew up my tiny business. Like, it blew my up. I had to close my business for six months and pay my employees. You know what I mean?
Manny Mua
Yes.
Laura Lee
With a closed business. So that was a really tough time for us. And that's the trademarking game in America. The rules are tough. It's tough. But Patty Gonia was saying in her video that she's willing to d drop her trademarking if they can settle the lawsuit. So she's like, I want trademark it. So I'm hoping they'll be able to work it out in a settlement moment.
Manny Mua
100.
Laura Lee
I feel like of some sort like.
Manny Mua
I feel like that's like really the best case scenario where if she can. If they can just settle and just let it be, she won't make merch or be trademarking Patagonia or Patagonia when it's already in completely existing brand with Patagonia. You know. But I feel like I don't. I don't think that the brand is, like, trying to erase her is what I'm trying to say. I don't think that they're trying to do that. I think that they're just trying to be like, hey, like, do your thing, but do not trademark it.
Laura Lee
Yeah, exactly. That's what it is. That's what it is.
Manny Mua
That's what it sounds like. That's what it feels like. Because I feel like Patty made great points. And it's like, I don't. I don't want her to be race, and I don't want her to, like, feel like she can't be Patagonia, which has been her brand in the wilderness. And, like, that's been, like, for her, it's been her thing, you know, but, like, so you have to think about, like, that could be your thing to the world.
Laura Lee
But legal is black, and white is more black. It's not about emotion and, like. Like, empowerment and, you know, a movement. Legal is, you know, a guarantee. You pay this amount of money and that kind of stuff. So it's more black and white over there. So it gets tough.
Manny Mua
Yeah. And I think this. I. I'm seeing people siding with Patty. I'm seeing people side with Peter.
Laura Lee
I've seen both.
Manny Mua
You know what I mean?
Laura Lee
Mix reviews on it.
Manny Mua
And I think that both can be right. I think that you can be supportive of her and want her, like, to not have to deal with this, like, kind of legal situation and going through that whole thing, because it just must be so tough and so expensive.
Laura Lee
Oh, yeah, that's what she was saying. She was like, you gu guy is like, there's such a big company, like, the legal fees.
Manny Mua
She'll never.
Laura Lee
Yeah, she would never be able to survive that. And that's where I feel so bad, so. And by the way, that's what happened to me. The company that was coming after us was so big, I would net. My lawyer was like, girl, for this tiny business. She was like, you never survive what was in court. They were like, change your brand name. They were like, that's so much cheaper than legal fees. So it really does. And I'm speaking from my own experience. This happened. This literally happened to me. So it's tough. It's tough, but it's really hard.
Manny Mua
And, like, what I was saying is I feel for the brand in the way of them being like, hey, like, I understand where you're coming from, but we have to protect our asset, because at the end of the day, the brand is their asset. The brand is who they are. It's their essence. And they're not saying, like, Patty, like, don't be Patagonia anymore. They're just saying, like, you can't trademark when we already own the trademark work. And don't make, you know, Mercher logos or things like that that are, like, exact, very similar spoof. I do wonder what the sell it
Laura Lee
and make money off of it.
Manny Mua
I wonder about the spoofing because I feel like when you're spoofing things, I feel like a lot of times There is like a, a work, like a little workaround when it comes to spoofs. I'm not sure how they work.
Laura Lee
It says Patagonia on it. I think that's the big one because it says so I think phonetically it's like phonetically they.
Manny Mua
So it sounds like too similar with how it looks. Looks because I know like when they. People I've seen spoofs of things and they get away with it completely fine. But they don't say what the brand is. But it's like you see a. I don't know, like a Coca Cola logo, but it's like a different logo in it.
Laura Lee
So what that is is whenever small businesses will do that and they don't get caught up because they didn't trademark. So if Patagonia did this and didn't trademark, she pro. I mean, I don't know that they would have even really seen it so much. But it's whenever you get that register in the US trademarking system, them that is when the ding ding, ding hits and it becomes the actual problem. So I think it's like using the name and trademarking it for merch. Yeah, that's gonna be a problem.
Manny Mua
To see like what it. Yeah, to see what it is to
Laura Lee
like turn it into an actual business. That's gonna be a problem where it's
Manny Mua
like, oh, but it's already a brand. Yeah, that makes sense. I just, it's like to me it's just like such a confusing like thing. It just seems like a very confusing thing. But it's like you can use, you know, likeness of things and you change it and then it becomes a different thing. I know there's like a, there's like workarounds with that. But like you said, it's trademarking the way it sounds so tough. All that kind of stuff. It's just a lot.
Laura Lee
I know, I feel for her cuz she's like pinned up against a wall right now.
Manny Mua
She's like so big a drag queen up against a multi billion dollar company.
Laura Lee
Pride, Mom. H. Bless her. Bless her. Well, we're hoping they can settle and work that out. Cuz I feel so bad.
Manny Mua
Same.
Laura Lee
Next up, let's talk a little bit about the Mormon wives because we have three topics because the drama just keeps brewing. So lately Pepe from Love is Blind and Miranda. Imagine Pepe on Love is Blind. Wait, Imagine Pepe on Love is Blind. Oh,
Manny Mua
that would be.
Laura Lee
That would be. I would have died, baby. I'm so sorry. Pepe from. From Love island, which starts to tonight?
Manny Mua
No, I think Love island. Is it not June 2nd?
Laura Lee
I'm not ready.
Manny Mua
You're gonna lock in?
Laura Lee
No, I'm not. Maybe I'm so behind on TV shows. Okay, I'll lock in. I think I'm gonna have to be up till one o' clock in the morning watching these. Damn.
Manny Mua
I could be wrong, but I think that's. It's like coming tomorrow night. It's coming.
Laura Lee
And Miranda, who is Chase's ex from Salt Lake. More Mormon Wives of Salt Lake.
Manny Mua
Secret Lives of Mormon Wives.
Laura Lee
You mean he wants these people? What the. There's too many shouts. Oh my God.
Manny Mua
There's too many shows.
Laura Lee
Too many shows. So they were seen out on a date.
Manny Mua
Okay, what do we think of this? Miranda I think is too good for him. I'll be so real.
Laura Lee
Yeah, she's too good.
Manny Mua
Miranda. I just feel like he's hot.
Laura Lee
And she probably just wants a hot daddy too.
Manny Mua
Great. But. And I hope that's all it is.
Laura Lee
And I feel like her ex, Chase is so ran through and it's hooked up with everybody. She's probably like.
Manny Mua
She's like, girl, I gotta go on the street. Let me get out the street too. Let me get a piece too.
Laura Lee
Let me get a piece piece too.
Manny Mua
No, honestly, I feel like she just. To me, she's. There's something about Miranda.
Laura Lee
Oh, I love.
Manny Mua
I just love her.
Laura Lee
I love her.
Manny Mua
I just love her on the show. I love her on Secret Lives. More Wives. I just love seeing her. I just love her like she has like a calm.
Laura Lee
She's a badass badd.
Manny Mua
Yes, she's calm and badass at the same time. I just don't.
Laura Lee
You saw. She's like a muscle mommy. You saw her in swim week.
Manny Mua
From swim Week. Insane.
Laura Lee
I always knew she was a muscle mod because like her arms, like you can see them, they're like so cut in all her shots, but like she was in a bikini and it's like insane.
Manny Mua
She looks insane. But they were on a date together in Florida. I think it was in Miami.
Laura Lee
That's. Is that where Pepe's at?
Manny Mua
No, but I saw that they were there. I think he was there for some week. Yes.
Laura Lee
Oh, cute.
Manny Mua
So I think, yeah, they went on a date. Do you think that they're gonna work out? Do you think that's gonna be a date?
Laura Lee
No, I think Pepe might be a hoe too.
Manny Mua
I think so.
Laura Lee
I do.
Manny Mua
I think so too. I feel like. I feel like he could probably like
Laura Lee
a ran through a little ran through.
Manny Mua
So I Feel like when you get on that kind of show, you could become even more ran through. Because then it's like, oh, well, people. People are like, throw. Women are throwing themselves at Pepe.
Laura Lee
You know what I mean, girl?
Manny Mua
Men are throwing themselves at Pepe, too. I'm men.
Laura Lee
How do you feel? Like Marciano and Jesse, since they're kind of, like, together.
Manny Mua
I wouldn't get that one. I will say it kind of gagged me because of the situation that happened on the show when they were like, no, like, it didn't happen. Didn't happen. Didn't happen. Like, there was a lot of denial until it became like, okay, we did kiss, right? And then it became that. That. But then I feel like it's progressed since the divorce.
Laura Lee
So now people are taking a step back, and they're like, you did cheat on your husband. You were in love. And you know what?
Manny Mua
Him.
Laura Lee
Him.
Manny Mua
And you know what? Jesse. I love Jesse.
Laura Lee
I do not condone. Cheating is the thing. No matter what, I always have this theory where I'm like, you should let that person go and perform and then pursue what you want to pursue, but let the bird fly. No matter if they don't want to get a divorce or what, you should let the bird. You shouldn't keep both.
Manny Mua
You.
Laura Lee
You know what I mean?
Manny Mua
Yes. 100.
Laura Lee
You shouldn't try to keep both. Like, if you. If you feel like you're out of it, that's fair. But you shouldn't cheat, and you should let that person go so they can go be with someone, too.
Manny Mua
For sure.
Laura Lee
You shouldn't have your cake and eat it, too. But Jordan is a special type of man that I hate. That's my problem.
Manny Mua
My problem is that, you know what? It takes a real, real sick person for me to be like, yachi on him. It takes some that. It takes that kind of sickness. And honestly, he brought it out of me. Yeah, he brought it out of me.
Laura Lee
He can bring us back.
Manny Mua
And I literally was like, yeah. And honest in my mind, I'm like, he deserved it. Like, I literally. Because of how he is shown on the same thing, by the way, we're talking about secretizing more wives, and we're like, that situation. Things are getting blurred and things are. Yeah, there's so many shows happening. I'm like, there's a lot of blurs with Marciano, who's on a different show. But it's like, I really feel like when you're that kind of human, that kind of man and treats. How he treat. How he treated Jesse and We even saw, like. And I know we didn't see the darkest stuff, and we didn't. And we still saw a lot. So it's like, no, him. I am. And the thing is, for me, if Jesse's happy and that situation with Marcia, I'm happy.
Laura Lee
I think Marciana is obsessed with her.
Manny Mua
Great. And I'm like, she deserves someone to be obsessed with her.
Laura Lee
Someone said, I think it was the show Summer House. They said y' all would not be rooting for Marciano. Any of y' all watch Summer House? I'm like, what the this man do?
Manny Mua
I don't know.
Laura Lee
It's a big show.
Manny Mua
Oh, girl. Summerhouse right now. Like.
Laura Lee
But he was also on the Vanderpump Villa.
Manny Mua
That's what I thought. That's what I thought. He was from. Was Vanderpump.
Laura Lee
I think he might in Summer House, too, girl. Let's see Marciano.
Manny Mua
There's a. There is a. It's too much.
Laura Lee
It's too much.
Manny Mua
It's too much. So how much or like, what show is he on other than is he on it or not?
Laura Lee
Well, in the meantime, I'm going to look this up and we're going to circle back. But go ahead and talk about Jordan's Photoshop, you guys.
Manny Mua
So there's another situation that happened with Jordan recently where he posted a photo from. I guess it was on a show or like, a guest of, like, something on Food Network. And he posted a photo from Food Network. Right. And he posted it. And I guess it's edited to absolute hell and filth because Food Network AI the whole thing. They said, oh, aide. The whole thing.
Laura Lee
The whole thing.
Manny Mua
Food Network posted his photo, and he looked nothing like that.
Laura Lee
Like it.
Manny Mua
He literally looked like, like baby a gremlin.
Laura Lee
He shaved off 40 pounds, gave himself a tan, completely new hair, which that hair is not even on his head. That hair is not even there. That was a wig. I mean, he looked like a different person.
Manny Mua
He look a completely different.
Laura Lee
So he post that. And he didn't know Food Network was going to post the Raw. And baby, the Internet did is.
Manny Mua
Oh, they tore them the up. And he actually ended up deleting his post because it was so did.
Laura Lee
Girl, that's the word.
Manny Mua
I can't. I literally cannot. He's just so cringe to me. It just makes me sick.
Laura Lee
Okay, so I was wrong. He's only on Banner Punk Villa and
Manny Mua
probably just heard so much about Summer House that, like, came into your mind.
Laura Lee
Yes.
Manny Mua
Which I hear about all the time. Do we need to Watch Summer House. You guys tell us in the comments right now, do we need to watch Summer House? Because I've been hearing so much about it.
Laura Lee
I have to. Someone else told me to watch it too. In real life. I can't remember. Yeah, they were like, you need to watch some Summer House.
Manny Mua
I got told recently at a dinner by two different people to watch Summer House.
Laura Lee
Really?
Manny Mua
Yes. So I'm kind of like now I'm like, what the. So I'm curious. We're curious as us reality girlies and who like loves TV and movies, stuff like that. And we know a lot of you guys do too. What do you guys think? I got Laura to start watching off campus.
Laura Lee
It's really good. It's really cute. I love the storyline. I haven't watched all of it obviously, but it's really good.
Manny Mua
I'm obsessed.
Laura Lee
Aaron's addicted to. She was over when I was watching it. She's like obsessed. It's a teeny coded.
Manny Mua
That is like for her demo.
Laura Lee
Oh yeah.
Manny Mua
I always like find it really funny whenever I'm watching like Summer I turn pretty or shows like this. As a girl in 35 year old gay man. I was gonna say the f. Slur. I can. It's me can. I'm watching it. Of course you can. As an ally. I literally, literally love these shows.
Laura Lee
Yeah.
Manny Mua
And it's so funny because it's just like so not like what?
Laura Lee
They weren't meant for us.
Manny Mua
We're not meant for me.
Laura Lee
But they work.
Manny Mua
But they work. And you know what it is? I think so. Sometimes I feel like growing up the way I did, I missed out on a lot of those like cutesy like shows.
Laura Lee
Like I watched them all and I. They make me want. It makes me want to watch them more.
Manny Mua
I love. See, I love that because I watch
Laura Lee
Pretty Little Liars like all those teeny. I was locked in like growing up. Vampire Diaries, True Blood, Gossip Girl, all of it. Oh, you watch them?
Manny Mua
I watch them so much later and I love them. So I think that's why like I feel like there's like a yearning for like that idea of like this like college love or like high school love. I think I like seeing it because it's never something I've ever had. So I just enjoy it, you know, it's like something I like. It's like, oh my God, that's so sweet. So I think I just. Because it fills that void of like I didn't have that.
Laura Lee
Yeah.
Manny Mua
So it's nice to see.
Laura Lee
What was your favorite out of all the teeny boppers. When you were like. Or whenever you did start watching, I
Manny Mua
was like, number one was Gorgina Chase Crawford in Gossip Girl.
Laura Lee
Oh, yeah. The deep.
Manny Mua
He. The deep. But in Gossip Girl, he was cute. Of course.
Laura Lee
I watched all Gossip Girl. Yeah.
Manny Mua
But him, Gossip Girl, when I watched. I was literally, like. Took my breath away.
Laura Lee
My favorite series out of all of them. I want to say Pretty Little Liars, but it was. It was Vampire Diaries.
Manny Mua
I. Girl, did you watch the Originals?
Laura Lee
Yes. Klaus, the brother. The brother.
Manny Mua
Elijah.
Laura Lee
Elijah.
Manny Mua
Elijah was like, my number one of all the. Like, I know. Like, everyone's always, like, very, like, clown Elijah.
Laura Lee
I love.
Manny Mua
Elijah was my life.
Laura Lee
I loved Empire Diaries.
Manny Mua
There was nothing like. It was just Elijah and Klaus. Right. Brother wise. Is there another brother?
Laura Lee
Stephanie Damon. Yeah, for the original show.
Manny Mua
Yeah. For the Originals, I was. They were so good. I just love those shows.
Laura Lee
Yeah, Fantastic.
Manny Mua
Like, very. I didn't watch Teen Wolf, but I
Laura Lee
didn't watch that either.
Manny Mua
That was in that world. You know what I mean?
Laura Lee
So good.
Manny Mua
Yeah. I feel like that's all. That's all we had.
Laura Lee
That's all our topics, period. Yes.
Manny Mua
Very chill, very soft, very demure episode. Very chill vibes. Next. We have a guest next week. It's a very special guest, Close to My Heart, for next week.
Laura Lee
Tell them who.
Manny Mua
That's my brother. My brother's coming on.
Laura Lee
It's a very deep, real conversation, too. It gets really deep.
Manny Mua
It does get really deep. And it was. It was nice. It was actually really nice.
Laura Lee
You and your brother. I mean, I've been around Nick before, but y' all are so different.
Manny Mua
I know y' all are.
Laura Lee
Y' all are different.
Manny Mua
Like, we're such different people, but it's really crazy to see us be so close.
Laura Lee
Yes. Very close.
Manny Mua
Aaron is so different from both of us.
Laura Lee
Yes.
Manny Mua
Aaron is, like, complete. He's like a spectrum. Nix. A spectrum. A spectrum.
Laura Lee
And then Aaron, like, I think you're so different.
Manny Mua
I don't know. You know what? My parents very much were like, you guys be your own people kind of thing. And so, like, we all realized the same, like, don't mind if I do.
Laura Lee
Okay.
Manny Mua
So it's like we all just.
Laura Lee
Yeah.
Manny Mua
Had different.
Laura Lee
Maybe my brother and sister are different exact worlds.
Manny Mua
Oh, you wanna talk about another triangle over here? You and your siblings are, like, worlds apart.
Laura Lee
Babe. You would never even know.
Manny Mua
You never know.
Laura Lee
You would never know.
Manny Mua
And it has. Again, it's not about your upbringing, because you guys are so different.
Laura Lee
You guys would be the same upbringing.
Manny Mua
You know what I'm saying all have the same upbringing. It's good. It's really. It was nice to have, like, real conversation about real life topics happening and things that are more fierce topics. I feel like.
Laura Lee
Yeah. As much so, it was a great episode.
Manny Mua
It was a really good episode. So I'm excited for you guys to see with Nick and us get down, like, that trail, finally having, like, one of my own little family members on episodes in the pod. Because they're always like, I don't wanna film.
Laura Lee
Yep.

Release Date: June 5, 2026
Host: PodcastOne
This episode of Fool Coverage is classic Manny and Laura: glamorous, unfiltered, and brimming with both real-life reflections and reality TV tea. The best-friend beauty gurus kick off with their signature “peaks and pits” (highs and lows of the week), deep-diving into Pride Month, running marathons, and sharing behind-the-scenes of influencer life. Then, they weigh in on hot topics—the legal showdown between drag queen Pattie Gonia and outdoor brand Patagonia, reality TV rumors (especially about Jesse and Marciano), and a bit of candid gym and influencer chaos. True to form, the duo mix earnest heart with zippy humor and encourage listeners to broaden their perspective, chase their goals, and join the messy, fun world of beauty and reality TV.
