Welcome to your favorite podcast is full coverage with your host, Laura Lee and Manny Mua.
Laura Lee
Hi, you guys. We have a very special guest, a reoccurring reigning.
Manny Mua
Reigning.
Laura Lee
Reigning champion.
Joey Graceffa
Reigning champion.
Laura Lee
Yes. Ms. Joey Graceffa. The diva. The doll. Our sister.
Joey Graceffa
That's right.
Laura Lee
We have known this one for millennia. A millennia. All right, all right.
Joey Graceffa
I go that far.
Laura Lee
As you know, as elders.
Joey Graceffa
Not too much elders. Not too much.
Laura Lee
But we love to start our podcast with a peak and pitch before we get into the fantasy. So you have to tell us your peak and your pitch.
Joey Graceffa
Okay. We'll start with my peak.
Laura Lee
Yes.
Joey Graceffa
Today is the launch of my new book. Yes. Yay.
Manny Mua
Tell us about 12.
Joey Graceffa
I mean, you guys, I've been working on this for the past six years, so the fact that it's finally here's insane.
Manny Mua
Incredible.
Joey Graceffa
It's about witches having powers based off their astrology sign. We have a Virgo and Aries here. Taurus. Virgo has healing powers. Aries has electrical powers. My main character, one of them. Electric magic.
Laura Lee
I love.
Joey Graceffa
Yes.
Laura Lee
I'm obsessed with that.
Manny Mua
How many books have you written, Joey?
Joey Graceffa
This is my fifth one.
Laura Lee
I was gonna say. I'm like, maybe he's a. He's a author.
Manny Mua
He said, girlies, catch up.
Laura Lee
That is so many.
Joey Graceffa
I know.
Manny Mua
Tell us all about this book.
Joey Graceffa
Should we. Should we get it right now?
Manny Mua
I feel like for. Should we wait?
Laura Lee
I was like. I was like, give us your pit. And then we go, okay, give your pit.
Joey Graceffa
I know you guys have a smoothie, so take your sip before you throw up, because this is the most disgusting thing that has ever happened with my dogs. So I have a golden retriever. Her name's Hunter. And she has this disgusting habit of eating her poop.
Laura Lee
I'm like,
Joey Graceffa
so that's not where it gets bad, because I'm used to that by now. So, like, she'll go out or, like, if she poops in the house, I feel like she's trying to hide the evidence. So she'll eat it. But even sometimes she'll go outside and she eats her poop. So I've never heard of this. Anyways, I. I go upstairs after letting them out for, like, a quick minute, and I come back downstairs, and I'm like, something smells a little funky.
Manny Mua
Oh, my God.
Joey Graceffa
There is something soaking wet all over my carpet. That's, like, a brown substance. And I'm like, did she have diarrhea? No, she ate her and threw it up.
Manny Mua
Joey.
Joey Graceffa
It was a double whammy of dogs.
Laura Lee
It was a combo.
Joey Graceffa
It was a combo move. Yeah.
Manny Mua
And why was it on the carpet?
Joey Graceffa
Of course.
Laura Lee
It had a whole hole in the car.
Joey Graceffa
No, I threw that carpet out. It was. There was no.
Laura Lee
There's no saving that.
Joey Graceffa
No.
Manny Mua
And even if you could, you can't.
Joey Graceffa
No.
Manny Mua
You don't want to do.
Joey Graceffa
You know it's just gonna happen again. So no more rugs in my house.
Laura Lee
You're done. It's like, yeah, if you can't save them. Honestly.
Joey Graceffa
Yeah.
Laura Lee
I get even frustrated with Zaya because I'm like, she wants to piss on the rugs all the time. And I'm like, you guys, I had my carpets cleaned, and the smell that entered my home after that was clean.
Manny Mua
It unearths.
Laura Lee
It unearths.
Joey Graceffa
The death of the rug is not a good spot, you guys.
Laura Lee
It smelled like piss for, like, two days in my house.
Joey Graceffa
Even after being cleaned.
Laura Lee
Yes, because of the cleaning, actually. So the cleaning, like, lifts up everything, and so it's in the fucking air.
Joey Graceffa
No, over here.
Laura Lee
Breathing in piss particles.
Joey Graceffa
And she's just looking up at you
Manny Mua
like, she's like, yeah, little. She's like, you tidy that up. I'm about to fudgeing.
Laura Lee
Soak it again.
Joey Graceffa
Do it again.
Laura Lee
Okay.
Joey Graceffa
I can still smell it, you guys.
Laura Lee
Speaking of shit, I have a story.
Manny Mua
Oh, I know.
Laura Lee
I was like, before we get into it, I just have to. Because I did not pay anyone. Nobody to me yet. So yesterday I was at the gym, and I was, like, talking with, like, a friend of mine that came up, and there was this random guy that passes by us, and I recognize this guy because he's like, chatted. I've chatted with him years ago in grinding bang. Years ago. And I was like, oh, yeah. And I remember the friend I'm talking to, he passes by us. I was like, that guy's weird.
Joey Graceffa
Weird.
Laura Lee
Like, I was saying that about the guy that passed by. And he's like, oh, my God. So he pulls me in. He was like, I need to tell you something. And I was like, girl, what? And he's like, he's into shit. He's a shit eater. When we're like. I was like, wait, what? No, I swear. I go, what are you talking about? He's like, when he was chatting with me on Grindr years ago, he tells him I'm into, like, scat play.
Manny Mua
Scat. No, let's call it what it is.
Laura Lee
Do not scatty girl sugar coat it
Manny Mua
and call it scat.
Laura Lee
So then I was like, like to eat. So then I was like, what the. So then I was like, no, no, no. And so then I start thinking about. I'm like, wait, this bitch told me. Joey. He told me this guy, like, years ago. He was like, hey, like, we should go on a hike after. After you work out at the gym. Would love to eat your ass on the hike. No shower. I go, it's all making sense. He wanted to eat my poopy booty.
Joey Graceffa
Oh, that was you.
Manny Mua
I told the friend.
Laura Lee
No, the friend.
Manny Mua
He told him your hike.
Laura Lee
Yes.
Manny Mua
And little does he know, he ain't getting you on.
Laura Lee
You're not getting on my hike. In the. The fact that I was like, wait, this makes sense. Because he really wanted to eat my dirty ass.
Joey Graceffa
Oh, I thought my story was bad and I was going to scar the audience, and that just made mine seem like that was very.
Manny Mua
A walk in the park.
Laura Lee
Well, all right. It's just her worst.
Manny Mua
There's people out there eating like your dog.
Laura Lee
We have carnivores.
Joey Graceffa
Wants to throw it up in your mouth.
Manny Mua
Yeah, yeah. Probably another layer.
Laura Lee
You guys, this happened just yesterday. So I was like, I have to.
Joey Graceffa
The shit.
Laura Lee
It just came to me. I had to say it.
Manny Mua
You guys, that's.
Laura Lee
And now the 12.
Joey Graceffa
No, we need a. We need a pallet cleanser, please.
Manny Mua
Okay.
Laura Lee
Actually, Laura, give us something, baby.
Manny Mua
I ain't got nothing to get after that. Y' all want me to follow up with that? I peed the bed the other night. That's all I got. I had a dream I was on a toilet. I had a dream I was on a toilet.
Joey Graceffa
I did.
Manny Mua
I had a dream I was On a toilet. And then my ass got really soaked, and I was like, hold on now. And I'm sitting on a toilet.
Joey Graceffa
Doesn't it feel so good?
Manny Mua
Yes. And I was like, no, no. All the layers, too. But I have a little thing that covers the mattress. Well, thank God it has. And it was the same dream. Yeah. So if I had to pee really bad, I'll dream that I'm on a toilet. And you'll let it out, let it go.
Laura Lee
I know that Tyler's leg is soaked.
Manny Mua
Yeah. You guys, he's like, jesus Christ, it's freezing. And then you got.
Joey Graceffa
Wait, what happened? What happens? In the middle of my d. The betting offer, you just, like, I lay
Manny Mua
a towel and then deal with, like, an animal. I lay it down under myself. Like I'm an animal.
Joey Graceffa
Like a beast. No, that's.
Laura Lee
You're like, I let it be.
Manny Mua
Right? I let it be.
Joey Graceffa
I have to deal with it later.
Manny Mua
There's so many layers. I just can't. I can't. I can't.
Joey Graceffa
So is that your peak or your pit?
Manny Mua
Actually, my peak. I'm just kidding. Life's been worse. Life could be worse.
Laura Lee
Life could be worse.
Joey Graceffa
Actually, this is the worst.
Laura Lee
No, it could be.
Manny Mua
No, this is the worst.
Joey Graceffa
This is the worst.
Laura Lee
Oh, my God. That is actually really, really funny. But I would love to deep dive on the book.
Manny Mua
Actually, I would.
Laura Lee
After that cleanse palette. Yeah, after the. The cleanse. Okay, so you've been writing this book for six years. So where did, like, the idea even come from? Like, why did you want to come up with, like, the concept?
Joey Graceffa
I feel like. So I love witches. Like, since I was a kid, I was, like, making potions in my bathroom. Like, I was flying around on broomsticks in my yard. And so it's just always been a part of me. And then in 2019, I was sick on the couch, and I was like, I just really want to dive into, like, a witch show. No offense, but I find, like, Charmed and that stuff. Like, it's just a little cheesy.
Laura Lee
Like, it's not, like, especially Charmed back then. Like, when it was.
Joey Graceffa
Yeah, yeah. Like, and I feel like there's not really great witch movies or shows. So I was, like, desperate to find something good. And then the idea came to me. I was like, I wonder if there's any witch shows or movies that have to do with the zodiac. And so I looked up witches zodiac, and nothing came up. And I was like, it seems odd that there's not more stories combining those two together. Because they just seem to go together. And so I couldn't find anything. So I was just like, it would be cool if each witch had a different power based off their zodiac sign. And just love, like, coven. I love Sucker Punch. And so I kind of, like, took those concepts and like, threw them together in this, like, dark universe of witches and their powers awakening. And I'm also, like, super inspired by, like, anime. I don't know if you saw Madoka Magica, of course. So a lot of, like, themes of that are in this.
Laura Lee
And Madoka is, like, super dark.
Joey Graceffa
It's very dark. Super dark, yeah. So what happens is these witches, their powers awaken, and as soon as that process starts, they kind of. A little bit of a spoiler, a little epilogue. But there's zodiac witches and then there's dark witches. And the girls find out that once they awaken their powers, they're in the process of becoming dark witches. And so the whole point of the zodiac witches is to hunt and kill these dark witches. So it's like this vicious cycle that they're trapped in. It's like that's the natural evolution of witches. And so these two twin sisters, they're left at an orphanage since a young age, and they end up getting recruited one night on their birthday to join this coven. The headmistress Niobe, who's a Taurus, she is recruiting and trying to collect all 12, which is of the zodiac.
Manny Mua
Love that. So, like, fully, what are the two main character signs?
Joey Graceffa
You said Aries, and she's a Pisces.
Manny Mua
Okay.
Joey Graceffa
So they're born on the cusp. They're like back to back signs.
Manny Mua
Nice.
Laura Lee
Oh, I love that.
Manny Mua
And they're twins, so give us a little hint. Tell us not all, but some of the witches powers that go with their sign.
Joey Graceffa
So Libras, they're like all about balance. It's like their sign. So I thought it'd be cool if they're like the balance of life and death. So they have necromantic powers, which is basically being able to raise the dead. Leo, which is my favorite power is telekinesis. That's what I would want to just be like and just move something.
Manny Mua
One of these powers, what would it be?
Joey Graceffa
Yeah, it would be that one.
Manny Mua
Yeah.
Joey Graceffa
Cancer. They're known as the emotional signs. So I gave them emotional manipulation. So they can make you feel calm, they can make you feel scared, or just like whatever they need to get you. Manipulation, yeah. What else? Well, I'm a Taurus. I decided to give them earth magic. Being Able to split the earth open. Incredible. And just create vines, little earthbenders and shit. Little earthbenders, yeah.
Manny Mua
Burgers said earlier, healing magic. Healing magic.
Joey Graceffa
So they like as a coven of 12, they create the perfect combination to take on whatever. And they're going to be fighting the Dark 12, which is the dark witches that are also racing to complete the 12. So that's.
Manny Mua
This feels like it could be a TV series.
Laura Lee
Yeah, I feel like that's me too.
Joey Graceffa
I would love it. I actually originally wrote it. I was writing it back in 2020 as my first attempt at writing a feature and my manager at the time was like, I'm sorry but we're not going to be able to get a meeting. You're a man writing a female lead and Hollywood right now is only accepting like authentic stories. So I was like, I'm telling the story like I don't care. And I ended up just going the book route because I had already written books that were female leads. So I decided it, I'm writing it anyways. And I didn't include one male in this book. It's all females.
Manny Mua
That's so Joey. I love that.
Laura Lee
That is so freaking cool.
Manny Mua
That's so impressive.
Joey Graceffa
Women are just like so badass. I know. They're way more fun and interesting to write as well.
Laura Lee
Absolutely. So to watch. I have way more fun everything.
Joey Graceffa
Girls. Exactly like coven. Just like a coven of girl.
Manny Mua
Which is like incredible. Sickening.
Joey Graceffa
So sickening.
Laura Lee
It's cuz we're gay. So we just like love.
Joey Graceffa
Yeah.
Laura Lee
Oh, we just love the girl power.
Joey Graceffa
Like we love girl C power. Yes.
Laura Lee
Very strongly with all my favorite. Yeah.
Manny Mua
You're like, I can't confirm too.
Laura Lee
I. I love it. I love it. I mean you're no stranger to like shows. Maybe she did escape the night.
Joey Graceffa
That's right.
Laura Lee
And Escape Today, you guys. It's on tubi now, by the way, which is like it has this like new home.
Joey Graceffa
It does.
Laura Lee
And we just did escape the recently.
Joey Graceffa
We did. I know. I'm like, I, I hate calling it season five because it's not season five. But that's just like the easier way to refer to it as.
Laura Lee
Yes.
Joey Graceffa
It was like a three episode special.
Laura Lee
What did. How was like the, the reception of it? I'm curious of what people thought it was good.
Joey Graceffa
I think people were just disappointed that it wasn't a full season. People weren't fully aware of like where this came from and they thought, oh my God, Escape the Night is fully back. They didn't realize that it was crowdfunded it was $150,000 is, like, all the budget I had, and like 30,000 of that went to Indiegogo as their cut. So really, it was like, it's like a crowdfunding place. They get a cut, they get a cut. So I had 120. And then, like, I have to, like, pay for everything to, like, the location, the director, and just like, everything like that. Money does not go far.
Manny Mua
No.
Joey Graceffa
And so having three episodes, incredible. You did that off when normally an episode back then was like 300,000 to, like half a million per episode for the normal seasons. So when people saw that Escape the Night was back, they, I think, just assumed, like, it's going to be back in the way that we remember and not just this, like, little mini special that we're doing on a much smaller budget just to, like, you know, give the audience just a little something, a little time for it.
Laura Lee
So it's like, you know, like, oh, thank you so much for, like, you know, believing in the vision of Escape the Night. So it's like giving something back.
Joey Graceffa
Yeah. Because it'd been so long, but I'm currently pitching to revive it, so networks are. Are looking at it right now, so I'm hoping that it comes back.
Manny Mua
I love that.
Laura Lee
Because then when you do it that way, does that mean that the network invests in the show or is it like, how does that work?
Joey Graceffa
What do you mean?
Laura Lee
Like, if you're pitching a show to something, does a network pay for it if they were to want it?
Joey Graceffa
Yeah, yeah, got it. So to do, like a full new season, they. I've been going in and pitching, and then they. We kind of give them an estimate of what it will cost to make for, like, 10 episodes or something, and they'll either come back and say, this is what we can do. Work within that budget. And then we would decide then.
Laura Lee
How interesting. Like, the whole pitching thing is really, really interesting.
Joey Graceffa
Yeah, it's. It's frustrating at times. Oh, I could.
Manny Mua
Oh, I can only imagine.
Laura Lee
Fathom, like, I just imagine, like, a board of people and you're like, in there, like, pitching your idea on a screen.
Manny Mua
Also, TV is, like, one of the most competitive industries right now. There's a lot more streaming networks than there were in the past, so they're buying a lot more. But it's still so much content's being made. It makes it so competitive, so hard.
Joey Graceffa
And I feel like so many shows get made, I'm like, this is terrible. How did this get greenlit?
Manny Mua
Somebody knew somebody.
Joey Graceffa
Yeah.
Manny Mua
Connect. There's an FO in there somewhere, but that is what happens. Or they're able to shoot a super cheap show, low budge, so they buy it and stuff like that, you know, or this guy's written this before. That was a good show. So they squeak one in.
Laura Lee
Thank you so much to CoverGirl for sponsoring this portion of full coverage. You guys go the distance with CoverGirl's new eye enhancer Wrap Tubing mascara for a lash extension effect. Okay, guys, listen. We've been using the new CoverGirl Eye Enhancer Wrap tubing mascara and it has a few officially entered our inner circle of go to mascaras. It gives instant definition, length and lift. And the flexible tapered brush actually keeps your lashes separated instead of turning them into one clump. And the wear unreal. It's flake free and smudge proof for up to 30 hours. We're talking all day wear, filming errands, even that random workout class we said we wouldn't go to. And it still doesn't budge.
Manny Mua
What we're really obsessed with is the tubing formula. If you haven't tried tubing mascara yet, let us be the friends who explain. Explain. Ultra stretch lightweight tubes literally wrap around every single lash. That's why it gives that instant lash extension effect without the actual lash appointment. It's sweatproof, water resistant and ridiculously easy to remove. Just warm water on a cotton pad, not hot press for a few seconds and the tubes literally slide off. No tugging, no scrubbing.
Laura Lee
Honestly, Iconic and the eye enhancing shades were obsessed. They got Max Motion Black for bolder, brighter looking eyes. Espresso Energy for that soft, natural vibe. Midnight stride for a lifted Wide Awake look. Even when we're running on iced coffee.
Manny Mua
So if you're ready for lifted lashes that keep up with your day, go shop Eye Enhancer Wrap Tubing mascara at your nearest retailer. Now trust me, you're gonna be obsessed only from easy, breezy, beautiful CoverGirl.

Call 1-800-GRAINGER clickgrainger.com or just stop by Grainger for the ones who get it done. Yeah, I think that all the time. Especially on Netflix. Netflix has a ton of good Shows, but they have a lot of shit, too. A lot of shit shows you trying
Laura Lee
to pump out, like.
Manny Mua
Yeah, they like to pump. It's about quantity.
Joey Graceffa
Yeah. And lately with, like, I feel like everyone's, like, cutting back on things. So, like, one of the networks that we spoke to, they loved the show, but normally they would have, like, three shows that they'd pick up, and they only had one.
Manny Mua
Okay.
Joey Graceffa
And so they unfortunately couldn't do Escape. But it was good to get the good feedback.
Laura Lee
Yeah, absolutely.
Joey Graceffa
Like, definitely bring this back soon.
Manny Mua
Love that.
Laura Lee
Curious about Skip tonight also. Who is the craziest cast member you've ever had? I'm just so curious. As someone who's been in there, I'm like, oh, there's top three.
Joey Graceffa
Top three with names. Okay. We'll start with season one. Lele Pons was. No, I gull really in, like, a good way, though. She was just like. She couldn't keep still. And, like, there was. You can even just, like, watch it in episodes, like, from the beginning of her, like, interviews to the end. Her hair is, like, all disheveled and just, like, completely just like, a mess and, like, a matted craziness. Like, she was just always, like, pulling and just being wild. Like, she had holes in her tight. Like, she. She was a lot of fun, though.
Laura Lee
That's a good energy to have, though. It's better to have, like, a dead fish in the water.
Joey Graceffa
For sure.
Manny Mua
Yeah.
Joey Graceffa
Season two, obviously, Gabby, she. I think. I mean, we've resolved stuff. I've told her we're actually in a good place.
Laura Lee
Oh, that's nice.
Joey Graceffa
I know that facts are facts, and people already know that. She was hard to work with on set.
Manny Mua
Yeah.
Joey Graceffa
But she knows that. She's admitted to it.
Laura Lee
Yeah.
Joey Graceffa
And I mean, I think the whole
Laura Lee
world knows after those videos.
Joey Graceffa
Yeah.
Manny Mua
Yeah.
Joey Graceffa
But I think what was the hardest part was just that, like, she wasn't taking it serious in the moment. So it was a lot of joke cracking that was taking everyone out of character. And I'm just like, we need to. We need to stay in this.
Manny Mua
Yeah.
Laura Lee
Yeah. Like, to be honed in.
Joey Graceffa
Yeah. Which is why I think season three did. Was so well was because when we were in it, we were in it.
Laura Lee
Yeah.
Joey Graceffa
Like, no one was breaking character. And so it felt so much more immersive for us to be there.
Laura Lee
Yeah.
Joey Graceffa
And make it.
Laura Lee
Season three was 1000.
Manny Mua
Do you feel like that's why influencers. I mean, they do transition over, but it's so rare into the acting world. Do you feel like there's something to. That. They're hard to work with. They already have this sense of fame. They're not typically in character. Like, an influencer just shoots and goes. Like, any actor that you paid for on that set, you probably wouldn't have had that problem. But you're working with influencers who. Everybody's got their own ego. Everybody's got their own numbers. Everybody's a diva. Everybody's the star of their own show. And then you put them together and try to get them to act right in a scene and, like, stay focused.
Laura Lee
No, they will not stay focused.
Manny Mua
I mean, I've been on sets with influencers. It's a madhouse. I'm like, it just makes me think and wonder, do you think that that's why, like, it's a hard transition over traditional from.
Joey Graceffa
I think so. I mean, set life. Culture is so different from what? Like, it's so content, creator different. There's a lot of sitting around and waiting.
Manny Mua
Yeah.
Joey Graceffa
Like, sometimes you'll be on set for, like, 10 hours before you even have your scene.
Manny Mua
Yep.
Joey Graceffa
And maybe you won't even have that scene that day. So there is just a different culture.
Laura Lee
Yeah.
Joey Graceffa
How you're supposed to behave. And it's. Yeah. Much different than just content creating and recording. I know both sides of the spectrum, so it could be a rude awakening for sure for them.
Manny Mua
Right.
Laura Lee
Who's the craziest of three?
Joey Graceffa
The cr. Oh, the third one.
Laura Lee
The craziest of season three. The craziest.
Joey Graceffa
Oh, of season three. I don't know. I think maybe. And everyone was amazing in season three, so it's really hard to pick. But I think Rosanna is probably the. Like, she was amazing to work.
Manny Mua
Yeah.
Joey Graceffa
Like, I loved her, but sometimes she would just talk a little too much and just go on these rants where she just kept going. Going. Do you remember? And we'd just be, like, looking at her, be like, bro, we got to move on.
Laura Lee
We're done. But I think because we were filming at, like, 3 in the morning, we're all delirious. Everyone's actually delusional.
Joey Graceffa
The most professional and just, like, love her to death. And she brought so much fun and character to that show.
Manny Mua
Remember, her sign is Talk to the wall. Do you remember that?
Joey Graceffa
She will talk to anybody and just, like, about everything. And it's so funny about anything. Yeah. Like, we'll just keep it concise.
Laura Lee
That was so funny. Like, last night, we had dinner with Joey, and, like, he had an astrologer, and he literally was like, gemini can talk to And Rose literally talking to the wall. To the wall.
Manny Mua
Yeah.
Laura Lee
And I'm like, this just feels like correct to me. Yeah, that's hilarious.
Manny Mua
It checks out.
Laura Lee
I feel like there's going to. There's definitely going to be more skip tonight. It's not done.
Joey Graceffa
Thank you.
Laura Lee
It's not done. It's just so good. And people really, really, really love it. The fan base is, like, so obsessed.
Joey Graceffa
Yeah.
Laura Lee
Like, they're die hard even. I still get tagged of, like, all the time.
Joey Graceffa
Yeah. No, I love it. It's my favorite thing to do. Like, just getting to create this world and then throw everybody into it, like. Like, it's the best.
Manny Mua
That's what makes it so special.
Laura Lee
Yeah, exactly.
Manny Mua
The different personalities that you bring together for this project, it's so incredible.
Joey Graceffa
Yeah. Fun.
Laura Lee
So are you getting back with Daniel or what?
Manny Mua
Oh, let's talk about. Yeah, let's talk about your ex for a minute. I saw this video of you and him making out the other day.
Joey Graceffa
Oh, that was AI.
Laura Lee
I don't think it was.
Joey Graceffa
It was sora. It was sora. It was sora.
Laura Lee
I saw that. I was like this.
Manny Mua
And I know that wasn't a one take. I.
Laura Lee
How many takes?
Manny Mua
Tell us right now.
Joey Graceffa
Just, like, one or two takes.
Manny Mua
Yeah, there was a lot of times.
Laura Lee
There was at least three minimum.
Manny Mua
What's your relationship with Daniel like now? Are you getting back to Daniel? Are you?
Joey Graceffa
No, we're. We've been, like, friends since we broke up. Like, we never really had that rake or separation, which I feel like maybe we should have. I think that was probably the healthier option, but we didn't, and we did it our way. But I don't know. It's funny because with my first book, that's how I not announced it, but that's how I came out, was kissing him. And it was a launch of my first book. And so it kind of was a throwback to that moment of, like, just shocking the fans a little bit. It's like, all right, the fifth book is here. This is how it started. And this is where we're at now. But, yeah, still kissing. We're still kissing.
Manny Mua
Are you guys getting back together? Are you done?
Laura Lee
Is it officially done or is it. Who do we know?
Joey Graceffa
We'll just let the universe decide.
Manny Mua
Are you dating anyone? Are you talking to anyone that's not Daniel Prada?
Joey Graceffa
Currently, no. But the hole is open.
Laura Lee
The hole is gaping. Wait, do you have, like. Are you, like, trying to date? Are you, like, an era of dating or are you kind of like whatever no, I'm.
Joey Graceffa
I'm in an era of dating, for sure.
Laura Lee
Okay.
Joey Graceffa
Period. Yeah.
Laura Lee
So have you been going on dates?
Joey Graceffa
Yeah, no, for sure. But nothing that's been, like, serious or anything. I'm, like, so picky. It's so frustrating. Like, I wish I wasn't, but I'm sure. I know you're picky as well, unfortunately. Yeah. It's just hard to find interesting people, period. And then also just, like, someone that I'm compatible with. Like, I know that that is key above everything. It's like, my two best friends, John and Kate, like, I witnessed their love, and I'm just like, that is exactly what I want. Like, just seeing them interact, I'm just like, oh, that is the love that I need.
Laura Lee
Well, especially when you have good examples, it makes you, like, not want to settle for anything less.
Joey Graceffa
Yeah.
Manny Mua
Yeah.
Laura Lee
You know what I mean? And that's how I feel, too, at times where I'm like, well, I have such good examples of people that love each other around me and my parents, too, even, that I'm like, I would never just, like, settle for, like, something that I don't really want to be just for the sake of being in a relationship. So I feel like it's like, one of those things where it's like, well, I had too many good examples.
Joey Graceffa
Yeah. Like, you and Tyler are.
Laura Lee
Hello.
Joey Graceffa
Perfect.
Laura Lee
Hello.
Joey Graceffa
That is, like, goals.
Laura Lee
I literally said, I really do love each other.
Manny Mua
It's not fake.
Laura Lee
No.
Joey Graceffa
It's so cute.
Laura Lee
You're like, it's for real. What's, like, a red flag that you're like, ick. I can't, like, give me, like, one example of, like, a red flag. Ick. That you're like, you're following more than
Joey Graceffa
500 people on Instagram. Like, a thousand. Five thousand. I'm like, no.
Manny Mua
So you want to date me?
Joey Graceffa
How many are you following?
Manny Mua
I don't know.
Laura Lee
Like, over a thousand.
Manny Mua
Over a thousand. For sure.
Joey Graceffa
It's fine.
Laura Lee
Okay. But also, like, what if they're creators and creators? So what if they're, like, a normal and they're falling?
Joey Graceffa
5,000 have no business.
Manny Mua
Yeah.
Joey Graceffa
Following 5,000.
Manny Mua
I like that.
Laura Lee
See that? I like that, too. Now that I think about it, I kind of got icked about the last person I was saying because he followed so many people. Yeah. And I was kind of like, and why are they all hot guys?
Joey Graceffa
Yeah. No, exactly.
Manny Mua
Why are they all. Only
Laura Lee
something ain't right here.
Manny Mua
Why are.
Laura Lee
Something ain't right. I think that's a really, like, good ick to Have. Because I would be like icked out too. Because especially if they're not like in the space and what's going on?
Joey Graceffa
No.
Manny Mua
Jerry, how long have you had your YouTube channel or been a YouTuber?
Joey Graceffa
19 years.
Manny Mua
I remember a long time ago. It must have been five years ago. You were like 14 years. And that blew my mind. And now I'm on year 13 and I'm like, oh my God. I remember that one time Joey told me he had a Sham for 14 years and I freaked out. And now here, literally.
Laura Lee
It's crazy.
Joey Graceffa
I know.
Manny Mua
20 years next year, Joey, I mean, do you just lay in bed at night? You're like, I invented this platform.
Laura Lee
Do you think that you're like, I am the founding Father of YouTube.
Joey Graceffa
Father. It's crazy.
Manny Mua
And you're still so young. It's crazy. You should be like 50 years old having a 19 year career, but you're not.
Joey Graceffa
I mean, I started when I was 15.
Manny Mua
So crazy.
Laura Lee
I forget like that they started so young.
Joey Graceffa
Oh, young.
Manny Mua
Okay, so I have a question that has to do with that. What's something about long term Internet fame that people wouldn't know or don't understand?
Joey Graceffa
Long term? I think it's like, I mean, we go through the phases, you know, of like searching for that clout and just like being number one or like everyone talking about you and then it gets so overwhelming that you're like, you know what, I'm happy to just not be the number one focus of anything. Like, I have my community. I'm happy with what I'm doing. I don't need a certain amount of numbers to like feel satisfied or happy anymore. Just as long as, like I have my audience and it's like chill and like, no drama, no nothing. It's like you kind of fall into a place where you're just like settled into what is important and like what you like as a creator and you stop chasing the numbers and the fame and all that stuff.
Manny Mua
I think that's where happiness lies within this career. Because, like, we've all three been there and we've all experienced that. And I wish I could have been as happy as I am today at the height of my YouTube career. Yeah, I wish. But it's like that much spotlight on you and that many people dragging you into shit and that much drama. I was like only half the person.
Laura Lee
Not even happy.
Manny Mua
I was angry. I was chasing something and it's just misery and like, I'm not. I wish I could have been me for all those people. And it's just like impossible to do it all.
Joey Graceffa
Yeah. It's just like kind of the process you have to go through.
Manny Mua
It is.
Laura Lee
And it takes time. I think it's one. It just takes like time to like really get through. To realize that like, clout isn't everything, views aren't everything. Like your real life is about is everything. And that's just like part of your job.
Joey Graceffa
Yeah. It's a balancing act and you just have to figure it out.
Manny Mua
Yeah. What is the most outrageous way you've made money online? Sponsor.
Laura Lee
Give us like. Yeah, give us like what is like one of the crazy, like crazy sponsor you've ever had that you're like, I can't believe I did this.
Joey Graceffa
But it was for the chat.
Manny Mua
Craziest way you've made money.
Laura Lee
I want to know. I mean, I always like, I sold whole pigs.
Joey Graceffa
No, I do find it. I, I thought it was funny, like just selling like female sex toys. Like.
Manny Mua
Oh, yeah.
Laura Lee
Oh, yes. Yes.
Joey Graceffa
I don't know. I feel like that's like, it's interesting. It's interesting.
Laura Lee
I think I remember, I think we like, I think we did a collaboration like where we did something and you're like, oh, I have a sponsorship and it's like a sex toy in it. I'm not even kidding. It was like almost like a box. It was like a game where we were like reaching to a box or something and you're like, oh, I got a sponsor in this one.
Joey Graceffa
I swear that was so long ago.
Laura Lee
Yes. But that's like literally what I remember you telling me. Oh, I have like a. I can't remember what it was.
Joey Graceffa
You're right. Yeah.
Laura Lee
You're like putting up like a hand in the box.
Joey Graceffa
That is so funny.
Laura Lee
And we like, I don't imagine like, and the thing, we grab it and
Joey Graceffa
it's like a dildo, like double sided toy. Let's do what's in my butt challenge.
Laura Lee
Yeah. You know what I see? Hey, David Wavy, the inventor of that. There's this creator on YouTube who literally did what's in my butt challenge. And like he had like a, a corn star behind him. I put like items there and like,
Manny Mua
to guess what it was, you're and YouTube.
Laura Lee
Well, there's like, there's a sheet above. Behind him. There's a sheet behind his, like, ass.
Manny Mua
YouTube is just like, you'll be like
Joey Graceffa
chilling and get this.
Laura Lee
He's like, I think it's like a carrot maybe. He's like, it tastes like a cucumber.
Manny Mua
I'm not going to say I'm not going to watch this whenever I get home. But how is YouTube gonna block me from saying the C word? But you shove something up someone's ass on this platform. How about the guy who showed his butthole on YouTube said it was educational.
Joey Graceffa
Oh, I remember.
Laura Lee
That was it there. He like narratives. This is how you nair your hole. And then it's like actual.
Joey Graceffa
And then you went and did it.
Laura Lee
And then I. No, I naired once and I got.
Joey Graceffa
It was.
Laura Lee
I'm there. I didn't know not to near my hole.
Joey Graceffa
I might have two.
Laura Lee
It was so bad because the ingrowns after.
Joey Graceffa
Yeah, really?
Laura Lee
Getting ingrowns on your booty hole is just nothing like it. No, there's nothing. I remember once there was this video. I remember there was a video on YouTube and like this is so long ago. And it was like how to like trim your like bush or whatever. And it was a guy and it showed his dick and he was like trimming his. It was for education. You're joking and it's still there. And I was so horny from there.
Joey Graceffa
Swear that was your gay awakening.
Laura Lee
It was. It was definitely one of them. It was literally like, so this is what you do, guys. And he's like moving his dick around. As long as it's not hard, it's educational. As long as it's not hard, it's educational. And let me tell you something, I was educated.
Joey Graceffa
Oh, no.
Laura Lee
Do you know what's funny? Also from the date, like the what's in my ass thing at the end of it, it would be like the. The corn star would always like put it in. It'd be like, oh, that's you, I swear. Oh, you guys. Isn't that crazy?
Joey Graceffa
That is wild.
Laura Lee
Hey, we can't say the C word.
Manny Mua
And we can't. I'm going back to. And we can't say this the C
Laura Lee
word in a funny, light hearted, good way.
Manny Mua
Okay, Joey. Every influencer is like notorious for buying outrageous, stupid. What's like one of the most outrageous, dumb purchases you made? It has to be a lot of money. This episode of Full Coverage is sponsored by BetterHelp. Manny, do you know what is in March?
Laura Lee
Yes.
Manny Mua
International Women's Day.
Laura Lee
My favorite day period.
Manny Mua

Joey Graceffa
Oh, my God. My crystal collection.
Manny Mua
Oh, I know that collection.
Joey Graceffa
Yeah.
Laura Lee
How bad?
Joey Graceffa
So much. I don't even.
Manny Mua
That is.
Joey Graceffa
I don't even know. Like, at least in total. At least 100 grand. It is. So I mean, that was over years, but still. Yeah. Like, I think one of them. It was gorgeous. Yeah, but like.
Laura Lee
But you still have it all.
Joey Graceffa
Yes.
Laura Lee
Okay, great.
Joey Graceffa
Of course. And I can always sell them, like, they, I think, value because they're stunning and gorgeous
Laura Lee
pretty. They're like Birken bags.
Joey Graceffa
I think the most I spent on one was like five grand, which.
Manny Mua
Oh, that's a lot of Chanel, babe. That's a Chanel Big crystal.
Laura Lee
And so is it just that you have to have like a crystal shrine in your house?
Joey Graceffa
I do, but I did, and now I've just spread them.
Manny Mua
They're dispersed.
Joey Graceffa
Yeah.
Laura Lee
So how big would a crystal have to be for it to be 5k though?
Joey Graceffa
Like, oh, this was a big.
Laura Lee
Is that to be humongous?
Manny Mua
Yeah, it was the mother, like, from
Joey Graceffa
the ground up to here.
Laura Lee
Oh, so it's like a huge thing, like a chair.
Joey Graceffa
Some can be small if they're like rare ones. Like, I think I had an aquamarine that was maybe like two grand and it was like this big. No, but she's stunning.
Laura Lee
But she's setting.
Manny Mua
She's. So you got Miguel.
Laura Lee
I didn't know they were that expensive.
Joey Graceffa
I haven't bought a crystal in maybe like four years.
Manny Mua
You're. You're like, enough. Yeah, enough. Wow.
Laura Lee
That is literally insane. I have a question because recently, like, you had like, a health scare with skin cancer.
Joey Graceffa
Yes.
Laura Lee
And you did, like, a whole journey about it on TikTok, and I was very plugged in, and I was like, wait, this is so crazy. Like, I'm so glad that you, like, got to check. What made you even think to do that? Did someone point it out to you? Like, it Was where you're like, that's strange.
Joey Graceffa
So it was a spot on my nose that was. Was. It would just be like this small red circular. Almost like a. Like a. Not a scab, but like, you know, like a little ulcer a little bit like, you know, when you like. Like a scab peels off and there's, like, that layer of, like, skin that's almost, like, raw.
Manny Mua
Was it basal cell?
Joey Graceffa
It was basal cell. So it was that. And it would go away, and then it would come back. And so I went to the dermatologist, and she was like, oh, we can just laser that. Like, it's fine. It's just like a broken blood vessel. Because you're so young, maybe. And so I went to Japan, and it fully scabbed over. And I was like, the laser or. No, general.
Manny Mua
Just because that was done.
Joey Graceffa
And so I went back, and I was like. It was scabbed. It's, like, just healed. Can we just, like, look at it again? And she's like, yeah, I think we should do a biopsy.
Manny Mua
Okay.
Joey Graceffa
So we did the biopsy. I passed out in the chair because no way.
Manny Mua
That needle poke.
Laura Lee
What was it? Is it biops? Is that what it is?
Manny Mua
The lidocaine? But the nose is. The most sensitive nerve endings in your body is your nose. That's when that lidocaine poke hurt you so bad.
Joey Graceffa
Yeah. And they scoop.
Manny Mua
Yeah.
Laura Lee
And the scoop like that. Is it the idea that made you pass out or the pain?
Joey Graceffa
The idea. Oh. And so they got me a juice box. They got me a juice box, and
Manny Mua
I came back to life.
Joey Graceffa
And then I went home. And then. Yeah, they called me, like, a couple days later, and they're like, it's basil cell. And then I looked up all my options, and I was, like, looking up all the, like, natural remedies and stuff. And I'm glad that I talked about it on TikTok, because I was like, I wanted to try the natural route. There was, like, this salve or something that you can black salve or something that. But that, like, burns your.
Manny Mua
Like, probably would have left a worse scar.
Joey Graceffa
A hundred percent. And I don't even know if it's, like, 100. A real thing. And so people were like, no, like, don't mess around with this. Like, just do the surgery. And I went in and I did it. And after I took the bandages off, like, a couple days later, it was so shocking. My whole. Because it's like, it's pulling skin from.
Laura Lee
Yes.
Joey Graceffa
Because they cut, like, this whole thing down and so they pull from here, like, over, over, stitch it. And so when I took the bandages off, my nose was, like, completely just, like, wonky and crazy because the skin is so tight.
Laura Lee
Yeah.
Joey Graceffa
I was like, my face is fucked.
Manny Mua
Yeah.
Joey Graceffa
Like, thinking that this was going to be what it looked like. And so it was so shocking to see it. My face look like that, and then it, like, slowly.
Manny Mua
You can't even tell.
Joey Graceffa
Yeah. I still want to do, like, a laser treatment to, like, just also help with the, like, on color scar.
Manny Mua
Okay.
Joey Graceffa
Yeah.
Laura Lee
They say, like, that there was. Is there anything that you can do for that? If, like, that you're like, I'm not happy with this, or.
Joey Graceffa
Yeah.
Laura Lee
Is there, like, laser things?
Joey Graceffa
Yeah. And they offered me, like, a discount, so I'll probably go in. But they're just like, it's gonna be, like, red and scabbed over for a little bit. So just do it.
Laura Lee
You have some time.
Manny Mua
Give it time.
Laura Lee
That's cool. I didn't know that you could even, like, hollow out, like, you know, a space.
Joey Graceffa
Yeah.
Laura Lee
Like, kind of even it out.
Joey Graceffa
Even it out.
Laura Lee
Awesome. That's like a good. Just to be like. Okay. If you guys notice something on your face or your body or something, like, just get it checked just in case, because you just genuinely, like, never know.
Joey Graceffa
I think mine was hereditary because my mom had it, my grandma had it, so absolutely, like, it was.
Laura Lee
It was, like, gonna happen.
Manny Mua
I've never seen you sunburn either.
Joey Graceffa
Oh, yeah. I don't really burn that much.
Manny Mua
No, you do have light skin and light eyes, you guys.
Laura Lee
But you can tan.
Joey Graceffa
I do tan.
Manny Mua
Also. Basal cells, the least aggressive.
Joey Graceffa
Yes.
Laura Lee
Oh, really?
Manny Mua
That's great.
Joey Graceffa
Yeah.
Manny Mua
Least aggressive skin cancer. So that makes me happy to hear, but I don't want. Melanoma is the worst melanoma. But then you have squamous cell, which is also a step problem with squamous cells. It can transfer to your organs. It's rare. It's rare. Melanoma will, too.
Laura Lee
Okay.
Manny Mua
But squamous cell is actually lung cancer. Lung cancer, squamous cell. And that same type of cancer is a form of skin cancer.
Laura Lee
Oh, okay.
Manny Mua
Most common is basal cell. It also cut out just like you were describing.
Joey Graceffa
Basil sounds such a nice word.
Manny Mua
It just is.
Joey Graceffa
I know. I'm like, oh, like we're in the garden. Yeah, we got some basil on our face.
Laura Lee
Yes.
Joey Graceffa
Yeah.
Laura Lee
Yes. Like, it's nice. It's soft.
Joey Graceffa
It's a nice word.
Manny Mua
The doctor I worked for, dermatologist, he saved all kinds of people's life because he had done it for 30 plus years. And he would see people at grocery stores and stuff. Like, melanoma. He wouldn't stop people for random stuff. But, like, a melanoma will kill you.
Laura Lee
Yeah.
Manny Mua
And he would literally save people's life and be like, hey, you have to go. This. This isn't good. Like, go.
Joey Graceffa
Yeah.
Manny Mua
And, like, literally save people that he didn't even know, which is really cool.
Laura Lee
So cool to be able to have
Manny Mua
the power and the knowledge to it. But sometimes it's just like a massive blotch. Like, even sometimes. And he was a doctor that took no new patient because he was so booked so that he would be like, go see. Don't. Don't call me.
Laura Lee
Don't see me, but you guys.
Manny Mua
But occasionally he would take one in that he, like, saw somewhere. That is so crazy, because he knew for a fact. He's like, that's melanoma.
Joey Graceffa
Yeah. There's probably someone watching right now that's, like, they've been, like, waiting. And this is your sign.
Laura Lee
Like, if.
Joey Graceffa
Yeah, call the dermatologist right now. Just do it. Column. Do a quick scan. They'll do it so fast.
Manny Mua
So fast. And what you're looking for, too, if you're like. If you're like, I don't know, look for changes. It's all. Cancer doesn't stay the same. So it's like, changes. Like, look at your spot. It kept scabbing over it. Like, changes. Look for moles that are changing. And basal cell presents itself as, like, a sore. Almost like a little pimple or a wound. It just won't heal and it just ulcerates.
Joey Graceffa
Yeah.
Manny Mua
So.
Joey Graceffa
Yep.
Laura Lee
And it was scab over, apparently.
Manny Mua
Okay. So I was in my workout class the other day, and she brought out the bands, the stretchy bands. And I texted Manny as soon as I got home, and I said, do you remember when the band popped off and popped Joey Graffit Equinox?
Laura Lee
I said, do I?
Manny Mua
Right into his eyeballs.
Joey Graceffa
That motherfucker. Like, trainer, trainer, trainer.
Manny Mua
Joey. I'm scarred. Like, I can barely work out with bands for. What happened to you.
Joey Graceffa
Every time I pass that gym, I'm, like, reminded. Trigger of the terror.
Manny Mua
You almost went blind, baby.
Laura Lee
Because. Wait, where did it hit you exactly again?
Joey Graceffa
In both.
Laura Lee
It, like.
Joey Graceffa
Yeah, like.
Manny Mua
Like his eye.
Joey Graceffa
Oh. So just to remind what happened, he gave me one of those stretchy bands, and he put it behind a pole, and he was like, okay, you're gonna do, like, this arm movement where you pull back and, like, you're stretching your arms or whatever. And then he's like, all right, now do one where you lift it up like this. And so there's nothing supporting the band. So it just goes. And then it has nothing holding it. So it just goes and just, like, slaps my eyeballs.
Manny Mua
I'm laughing, but I promise I wouldn't
Joey Graceffa
have been laughing so bad. I, like, fell to the ground, and it just, like, stung so bad. And I'm like, I can't even open my eyes because they hurt so much. And the. Just tears are just, like, streaming down my face. And so I'm just, like, trying to play it cool. Of course I'm like, oh, no, it's fine. I can't see. And, like, slowly my vision comes back, and my trainer's like, oh, my God. Like, can I get you anything? I'm like. He gets me like, one of those, like, aromatherapy towels or whatever. So I'm like, pressing against my face, and I'm like. I feel like I'm okay. Like, I can continue on this even though my eyes are.
Manny Mua
You did not keep working out.
Joey Graceffa
I did for, like, maybe, like, two minutes.
Manny Mua
Oh, no.
Joey Graceffa
Yeah. And then I hadn't looked in the mirror. I look in the mirror, and my eyes are literally bleeding. No. And I'm like, I need to go.
Laura Lee
You're like.
Joey Graceffa
You're like, tears or blood. Yeah. And so shut the up. Yeah. And I never went back.
Manny Mua
Absolutely not.
Laura Lee
Of course.
Joey Graceffa
I should have. Like, did you go to the doctor? Something legal? I went straight to the eye doctor.
Laura Lee
What happened? Like, so what did they say?
Joey Graceffa
They said, basically, I just had a scratch. Cornea.
Manny Mua
Oh, my.
Laura Lee
Okay.
Manny Mua
I can't imagine that pain. Because if you've ever been poked in the eye, like, you know, it is just, like, shocking pain. And you're, like, out of control. Your vision.
Joey Graceffa
Imagine him popped for years, though. What? Oh, my God.
Manny Mua
I know.
Joey Graceffa
He kept texting me after, just, like, being like, I feel so bad. I never responded. So I know he felt so bad. But I remember Equinox, because I still had, like, sessions there. I was like, I'm never fucking going back here again and emailing him. I still got your baby. I was like, can I transfer my credits to someone else? And they're like, no. I'm like, you don't. Like, this is what happened to me. You're lucky I didn't do anything about
Manny Mua
you was lost your vision.
Joey Graceffa
Yeah. So they ended up doing it. But, yeah, I've been popped in the.
Laura Lee
In the face by bands. But not in my eyes, though.
Manny Mua
The eyes is like, not my eyes.
Laura Lee
It went. It went like this across.
Joey Graceffa
Wait, have you been hit in the face with a volleyball?
Laura Lee
You guys, it's nothing like you've ever experienced. I have been in the face with the volleyball.
Manny Mua
Make me angry.
Joey Graceffa
You just have to play it off like you're fired.
Laura Lee
Yes. And you're like, yes. No. And you're in. Your head is ringing. I'm not kidding, you guys. There's a. There's a sound in your head. I remember once, you guys, I was at a tournament, and. A tournament. You play multiple games in one day. First game popped in the face. I was back where I was. My. My.
Joey Graceffa
My front row didn't go up for the.
Laura Lee
So you have a front row to protect you. That's what they all have to block so that when you're in the back, you're not getting directly hit from the speed of a ball. So it hits them. So then you can, like, react to the hit. They didn't go up for the block. So the ball came at me at 100 miles an hour. And it's like this. No, I didn't have time to react. It literally, I'm like this right in the face. And I'm not kidding you, I was like this. I was literally like, I'm fine.
Joey Graceffa
I'm fine.
Laura Lee
And I'm so. I'm looking like this. Like honey wobbly. Like it's. No, it's like. It's the most craziest feeling to get hit in the face.
Manny Mua
Oh, yeah.
Laura Lee
So abruptly. But that's how. Like, I had the band, too. And it was the same thing. Rolled off. It was. It was my fault, though. I did it myself.
Manny Mua
Did other people in the gym see you get hit in the eyes?
Joey Graceffa
I don't know.
Laura Lee
I mean, the sound is so jarring.
Joey Graceffa
I was blinded.
Manny Mua
You were like, how would I. I don't know.
Laura Lee
I was blind, deaf, and dumb.
Joey Graceffa
There was nothing.
Manny Mua
I'll never be able to work out with it. It even happened to me. And I've never been able to work out with bands this day because I know the danger of the need.
Joey Graceffa
My warning.
Manny Mua
That was the craziest story. So. But she had us put it around our foot, and we were like, pulling up, and I thought about this.
Joey Graceffa
I've heard story.
Laura Lee
She did. She was like, we were using bands, and I got scared.
Manny Mua
I was like, I can't do it. Flashback.
Laura Lee
She was triggered by your story.
Manny Mua
I was so triggered. I literally came home and text Mandy. I was like, do you remember when Joey got p. Chopped eyes?
Laura Lee
And so of course. I'm like, you got hit in the face. And she's like, I thought of it,
Manny Mua
but I thought of it. I was so scared. Honey, don't trust those bands now. And she always says, if you can break the ban, I'll give you a hundred dollars because everybody's scared. That's what she always says. But I'm like, it ain't about breaking it. It's about it slipping my foot and puffing me in the face. Oh, my God.
Laura Lee
That is so crazy.
Manny Mua
It's one of your best stories, but, like, horrible experiences.
Laura Lee
It's because you're horrible experiences.
Manny Mua
You have beautiful blue eyes, too.
Laura Lee
They're too pretty.
Manny Mua
That would have been a real shame for those to go out.
Joey Graceffa
They changed color, though.
Manny Mua
That's dookie brown. You wouldn't like that.
Joey Graceffa
I actually do like brown eyes.
Manny Mua
Yeah. You say that because you have blue eyes.
Joey Graceffa
I probably. But, like, I.
Laura Lee
So true. I'm like, I love brown eyes, but I hate.
Manny Mua
I know you're both over here, like,
Laura Lee
yeah, I love having.
Joey Graceffa
There's just something so, like, warm about them.
Manny Mua
I agree. I like brown eyes, too.
Joey Graceffa
They're so comforting.
Laura Lee
They're endearing.
Joey Graceffa
I got told on a date once because I. I have, like, pretty intense eye contact with people. Like when I'm, like, meeting them or whatever. And it's like, you look like the Miley Cyrus meme.
Laura Lee
Oh, it's like this.
Joey Graceffa
Yes. And I was like, huh, Joey, how
Manny Mua
are you looking at this man?
Joey Graceffa
That's the end of the day.
Manny Mua
You're like, I smoked weed before.
Joey Graceffa
No, but have you seen those Tik Toks? It's like, people with blue eyes.
Laura Lee
Yes. It's so funny. You don't have blue eyes.
Manny Mua
That's how they come at you. It's like, give it a rest. Give it a rest.
Laura Lee
That's literally the truth. Especially when they're, like, piercing blue. You're like, stop.
Manny Mua
Scary.
Laura Lee
Look, freak.
Manny Mua
I see too much. You can't even see my pupils. You don't know where I'm looking. You don't know where I'm looking. The.
Laura Lee
The Puppy brand going like, you have, like, the treats.
Manny Mua
Yes.
Joey Graceffa
I'm doing a rebrand right now.
Laura Lee
Oh, you are?
Joey Graceffa
Yeah.
Laura Lee
Okay. What's it called? Tell the audience, like, what it is. It's called Tail. Tail?
Joey Graceffa
Yep. And so I'm just reworking the packaging right now and some of the ingredients and just enhancing the formula.
Manny Mua
Love it.
Laura Lee
I love that. And they're treats, are they, like. You can do full meals with them.
Joey Graceffa
It's supplement. But they are treats.
Manny Mua
Treats.
Joey Graceffa
So it's like instead of just giving your dogs, like unhealthy treats, this actually has, like benefits to it. So I have a skin coat and I have a calming one. I'm working on other skus as well. So where to come?
Laura Lee
It's on the website right now.
Joey Graceffa
Yes. The Calm is currently sold out, but the skin and coat is still there. But yeah, it's tailpets.com.
Manny Mua
nice.
Laura Lee
That's so cool. Like, I feel like it's so on brand for you because you like.
Joey Graceffa
Yeah.
Laura Lee
An animal girly.
Joey Graceffa
Yes. I have the rescue non stop. I have seven puppies at my house right now.
Manny Mua
Oh my God.
Joey Graceffa
Yeah.
Laura Lee
Holy crap. How did that even start to, like happen? Like, where did you start doing that from?
Joey Graceffa
Well, in 2020, like right before the pandemic started, I got a pregnant cat off Craigslist and she gave birth and then it just kind of became like a thing. Animal dog rescue reached out to me and they were like, we have these dogs, dogs that we're gonna go rescue in a trailer park if you want to come. And I went and there was just so many dogs everywhere and there was these puppies under a trailer and I just like scooped them up and just like took them back with me. And then I got a pregnant dog in the back of like a Taco Bell.
Laura Lee
And then. So then do you like rehabilitate them and then give them back?
Joey Graceffa
Yeah, they're covered in fleas and tits and just like come from really bad situations. Like, there was one dog, she was so malnourished, she threw up in the back of my car driving her home. She threw up literal trash. And I was like in tears. Just like this poor dog was just like so hungry. Yeah. She was digging through stuff and like ingested trash to just fill her stomach. And she just had the sweetest, biggest brown eyes and she just like looked so sad and just like giving her a bath and then her giving birth to the cutest puppies. And then now she's in the most loving home. Just like, this is all worth it.
Laura Lee
I love that.
Joey Graceffa
That's really cute.
Laura Lee
So you're basically just like almost like an interim home between foster, you know? Yeah. You're like a foster. Like a foster parent. Yeah, a foster. That's so nice they have the space to do that.
Manny Mua
We have some rapid fire questions for you.
Joey Graceffa
All righty.
Manny Mua
To polish off. What's the biggest celebrity that's DM'd? You?
Laura Lee
Who's who? What's the biggest. Has there. Yeah, has there Been a celeb in your damn day. Like, hey, what's up?
Joey Graceffa
I don't think so. I feel like mostly just, like, influencer people. Well, I don't know.
Laura Lee
I bet you have, but you, like, cannot even recall.
Joey Graceffa
Oh, okay. I don't know if this is considered, like, a celebrity, but I thought it was really cool because I love Britney Spears, but her ex, he DM'd me wanting to audition for Escape the Night, which I thought was so cool.
Laura Lee
That's so. That is cool.
Joey Graceffa
And he was, like, with Brittany at that time, so I was, like, so famous by proxy. Escape the Night because, like, if he's watching it, then, like, maybe she's watching it with him.
Manny Mua
How cool.
Laura Lee
She has to have seen it.
Joey Graceffa
So, yes, Britney Spears is a huge fan of Escape the Night.
Manny Mua
Yeah.
Laura Lee
She's a. That's all I heard was that she loves Escape the Night.
Joey Graceffa
Yeah. Yes.
Manny Mua
Early YouTube era or Tik Tok era.
Joey Graceffa
YouTube era. What?
Laura Lee
Like, edish as it should.
Joey Graceffa
Yeah. It's kind of sad that there's no, like, YouTube community. It's just kind of, like, gone.
Laura Lee
Remember the Collabs?
Manny Mua
There's, like, 20 million influencers now.
Joey Graceffa
It's the whole world. Like, it's not just, like, a niche community online. It's like everybody joined the Internet.
Laura Lee
Is there a collab question randomly. Is there a collab that you ever did that you didn't want to do but you knew you're gonna get views for it?
Joey Graceffa
Oh, my gosh. Well, of course.
Laura Lee
You're like, no.
Joey Graceffa
But there's certain people that I have definitely collabed with that I will never again because the audience makes it very clear maybe not the best. Best thing to collab with that person. I've learned my lesson. I see what you guys say. I see it. I see it. That is hilarious.
Manny Mua
What's a reality show you could win? Oh, and don't say Survivor.
Joey Graceffa
Oh, no. I would be. When I get hungry and cold, it's over. I'm like, I gotta go home.
Manny Mua
Yeah.
Joey Graceffa
Just vote me out. I think I could win big brother.
Manny Mua
Okay.
Joey Graceffa
Or maybe the traders.
Laura Lee
I think you could do traders.
Joey Graceffa
Yeah.
Manny Mua
You could do traders for sure.
Laura Lee
100.
Joey Graceffa
Yes. I love trainers, but I would get so pissed off at, like, the other people because I feel like I'm so quick to, like, clock people when they're the trader. And I just know my other people, the non traders would not get it.
Laura Lee
Yeah.
Manny Mua
Yep.
Laura Lee
So you'd be Colton girl.
Joey Graceffa
Absolutely. All of us are like, I don't know about all that.
Manny Mua
It ain't clocking at him.
Joey Graceffa
It ain't clocking.
Manny Mua
Who's the last person you texted? It was me.
Joey Graceffa
Yeah, okay.
Manny Mua
Besides us.
Laura Lee
Besides us.
Joey Graceffa
Oh, I have a lot of text that I'm missing. Oh, it was my book. Adrian. She was just. We were just congratulating me on the book launch day.
Manny Mua
Yay. By the way, it launched today.
Joey Graceffa
Yeah. Crazy.
Manny Mua
What's the first thing you do when you wake up?
Joey Graceffa
Check my phone.
Manny Mua
Good for being honest. Thank you for being honest. And don't say some bullshit because everyone checks their phone.
Laura Lee
Everyone checks their phone.
Manny Mua
I try to work on it.
Joey Graceffa
But do you guys put your phone on airplane mode at night or no sleep? Oh, I put on airplane mode because I feel like there's frequency rays that are bad for you.
Manny Mua
Oh, yeah, that's why I didn't think about that. Put it on sleep mode. You know, so. No, nothing. Don't call me if you're in trouble, honey.
Laura Lee
Baby, if it's past 11, I already know.
Manny Mua
Yeah, it's a wrap for me. What time do you go to bed, Joey?
Laura Lee
11.
Manny Mua
Okay.
Joey Graceffa
11.
Manny Mua
12. Yeah.
Joey Graceffa
It's not early.
Laura Lee
No, it's not that early. It's actually like, I feel like it's pretty normal.
Joey Graceffa
Yeah, I remember I used to go to bed at like 3am like that to me was a normal bedtime.
Manny Mua
Yeah.
Laura Lee
Yeah.
Manny Mua
Nuts.
Joey Graceffa
Nope.
Laura Lee
That's crazy. I would never do that.
Manny Mua
Any final words before we.
Joey Graceffa
Oh, I'm the YouTube killer.
Manny Mua
He like jokes on you to a poisonous shake.
Joey Graceffa
That's why I didn't have one.
Manny Mua
Yeah, that makes all sense.
Joey Graceffa
Yeah, just I'm. A new book, you guys.
Laura Lee
We're gonna leave a link down below. Check it out. It's like so exciting, so cool. I'm so happy for you. I can't wait to read it. I'm in my reading era, so.
Joey Graceffa
Yeah, I think you'll read it.
Laura Lee
And I'm a huge like witch fan.
Manny Mua
They can get it on ebook. Audiobooks too, right?
Joey Graceffa
Yes. There's audiobook version too.
