I was thinking about this on my way here. I was, okay. My peak. My peak was definitely this past weekend. I spent three days with the loves of my life, my two nephew cousins. Technically, they are my cousins because my cousin on my mom's side is like my sister. Okay, My cousin Emily. So our moms are only siblings. It's just the two of them. And she is her first daughter. Okay, got it. So we're like sisters. And then her two sons are technically my cousins, but to me, they're my nephews, so I have them also.

Yeah. So they call me auntie cousin.

I went to go see them in Vegas, which like over Covid. It was so easy to just like drive to Vegas and go spend time with them.

No, this week, like before I drove to Vegas, I had sushi at my normal place and I. I don't know. I think it was something with the tuna. I don't know. Has anybody had tuna recently.

Really? So your life must have been, like, captivated by doing this. Like, it probably took over.

Like, yeah, everything. It was crazy. I mean, it's like, what day is it? Tuesday. We get a call, like, hey, Thursday, we're going for five days to wherever.

And so your life was on call, essentially, in a way, literally on call.

[Kami Crawford]

I said we were on call doctors. Because, like, imagine you have. Have your best friend's wedding. You have a doctor's appointment. Like, anything you have planned, you could just kiss goodbye.

[Laura Lee]

And you did that for six.

[Kami Crawford]

Six years.

[Laura Lee]

That's dedication to this. But that's really cool that you did that. And, like. Yeah, I mean, iconic, you know, were.

You, like, kind of like, were you. Towards the end, we're kind of like, I'm over, like, this way.

Like, you want your life back.

I mean, I definitely was. Like, I was at a different place in my life. Like, when I started, I was 25 and I was so hungry that I was just like, I don't.

I'm grinding, babe. I'm grinding.

I don't. Like, I didn't have any attachments to anything. And then towards the end, there was like, various things, but I just was like, you know, I'm really craving time with, like, my loved ones. Like, you know, I. I needed to be back in my circle with my people, with my sisters. Like, I'm the oldest of six girls, and if I don't have wow time with my sisters, I, like, lose myself.

I don't even know who I am.

[Kami Crawford]

But even more so, just like the. You know, it was. It's just a really volatile schedule. Like, you. You just don't know. And then you could say, like, oh, tonight we're flying out. I've gotten calls the day of, like, nope, we can't go. The person pulled out. They don't want to reveal themselves anymore. They gave themselves away already without us. So the, you know, Episode is scrapped. That happened to me, like, literally the day of. The day that LA locked down for Covid. I did not know that I had Covid, but I woke up to. Up feeling like, literal ass. And I was like, I. I woke up with, like, half an eye open. And our producer called me and was like, your car is outside, but do not get in it. LA just locked down. Like, we're not going. Wow. And things like that would happen all the time.

[Manny Mua]

Right.

[Kami Crawford]

I would be in the middle of packing, getting ready, and it would be like, oh, just kidding. Like, the episodes can.

[Laura Lee]

That's really tough.

[Kami Crawford]

Yeah.

[Manny Mua]

Wait, so then why would the episode be can is because, like, the person that was the one that was, you know, catfishing wouldn't want to be revealed sometimes.

[Kami Crawford]

Sometimes.

Yeah. It was a catfish person.

Yeah. Typically.

Typically, they didn't know they were getting, like, I mean, revealed.

So, like, someone is speaking to them, but it's got us. We don't know who they are. When we read the email on camera, that's the first time that we know the person's name. Or, like, typically where we're going, unless it's a situation where we would have to be there already, like, for, you know, production time. But sometimes we would read the email while we were in another city doing another episode, and then find out, like, oh, I guess we're going to Tampa next. You know, it was always.

So you guys were truly traveling, too, around everywhere to do this show. Like, everywhere.

[Manny Mua]

Your social life is a box, Your career is a box. And then there's like, two. I think there's nine, actually boxes in life. And you're supposed a community. You know that you're supposed to be filling each bucket. And of course, some buckets more than others. But your children shouldn't. Yes. And that's a happy life because you've diversified your life. And the thing is, if one fault falls flat, let's say you have to get a divorce. You have all these windows of support that you've spent time building because you built a life, or your children's move away and go to college.

I got really lucky because I am flooded with the mother in law stuff. It's very interesting to me though because I feel like I, I don't have children, so I shouldn't say. But I feel like if I had a son, I would want them. I would want to, want to be friends with his wife and I would want to do things to make her happy. So my son's happy, you know.

Yeah, I agree. I mean I, I think though there are like early indicators of what kind of relationship you can expect with your partner's parents. And I also think that it is on your partner to check their parents when it comes to you. Like the amount of people that I see on Tick Tock giving story times about like oh my, my husband or my wife, whatever, like they're my mother in law's coming into town and they always prioritize like their mother over me. And like anytime I have something to say about the way that they're treating me, they tell me brush it off. Yeah, it's like just they're crazy in my head and blah, blah. No, like there are boundaries that I think that we need to set with our parents, period. Like, I love my mom, she's like my best friend in the entire world. But I think the idea that I'm gonna tell my mom every single detail about what happens in my marriage is diabolical. Not happening. Like, and I don't, I just feel, not to say like, like if there is something serious happening in your relationship, you need to tell your people, like for sure if there's anything violent, whatever. Like that's a non starter and people in your life need to know. But if you got into a little argument about the floss, you're blasting his ass and you're telling your, your kikiing with your mom, you should have like your set girlfriend's small group. Not every single friend. I was just talking to my friend about this earlier here. You can't tell all of your friends, every detail about your relationship.

They're not in love, they're not going to forgive as easy.

And every time this motherfucker comes around.

Like, those are the types of people you need to be telling your relationships to, not the ones who you're like, girl, I left the dental floss on the sink. And he, you know, told me that I was messy and, and gross and stormed out the room. Girl, you could do better than that.

Drop him. Who the fuck is he? And then you're looking at her like, damn. Well, not too much. Relax. That's not man too much on my man. The fuck? Like have you ever had that like where you're like venting to somebody about and then they start talking? You're like, wait. And now you're defending.

Wait. Like I should have never fucking told you, you know, so you have have to watch your mouth when it comes to your family. Cuz at the end of the day, it's your family, they're going to ride for you the hardest possible. Because of that, you also have to ride for your partner. Yeah, like that's, that's my feeling.

So I feel like like if a mother in law, like if the person's whose mother it is, should reign them in out of respect for their spouse.

And so if your partner's not willing to do that, maybe they should marry their mother.
