We have some rapid fire topics, but we also want to recap our trip that we recently went on to Chicago to go Lollapalooza. I'd always heard of Lollapalooza, by the way.

I had heard it, but I didn't actually know what it was. I knew it was like kind festival.

It sounded like a Florida thing. I thought it was kind of like a Florida thing.

So much that's its own little nation.

It is, it really is. But turns out it's in Chicago.

Turns out it's in Chicago, which I had actually never been to Chicago before and I just overarchingly am obsessed with Chicago right now in this time of year. Like where when we were there, I loved it.

[Mara Lee]

Yeah, I loved the first time I went to Chicago was the winter and I was dead. It was crazy because I was like, wow, it's so nice and lovely here. But then I did not forget though. It was like the dead of winter to the first time I went and it was the coldest, windiest, most horrible weather. I mean, I remember I could barely even get out of a car to go to, you know, in a building because it was just also, I'm from a warm area. I live in a warm. I've only lived in warm. I've never lived in snow before.

Neither have you. So like we don't, we don't have that same concept.

[Mara Lee]

We don't understand like that life. I feel like if I had lived in it, it wouldn't have been so bad. But it's so true.

That's why, I mean like your normal, like the scraping of the ice. That's crazy. Like I've never Experienced that because I grew up in SoCal my whole life, so I don't know what that's even like.

[Mara Lee]

Me either, baby. Coast to coast.

Coast to coast. But we actually ended up going to lala with essence. So shout out to essence. Honestly, what do I. What I really love about going with ESSENCE is that we've repped ESSENCE for years and years and years, and we've created this, like, relationship with them, this partnership with them, and we've been able to work with them in a paid capacity, too. And like, the fact that the brand sees us and is like, you guys with us heavy and half for years. We love working with you guys is really cool to me. I just think that's really awesome.

They even have mentioned to us before they're like, you know, creators talk about us all the time now because it's like, you know, the Internet's bigger now and like, drugstore stuff is bigger now. And so we're talked about heavily with many influencers, but they tell us, the thing is, you guys talked about us for the past 10 years and we weren't able to pay you. We weren't able to work with you because we didn't have those means. And they were like, it was very important to us to make good with all the people that, like, heavily supported us all the years that we couldn't support them back. So they were like, whenever we started, you know, our influencer program, like, they were saying me and Manny were like, top of the list. So I just thought that was so cool because, like, not a lot of brands even give a shit.

No. And it's just cool to see, like, a brand that, like, cares about their people and that cares about people that actually really care about the brand. Because the thing is, Laura, as well as I, like, we've been like ESSENCE writers for years because to have brands like that price point at the store, the high quality that they do, is just so shocking.

And the fact that they have these really cool, affordable dupes that have just absolutely incredible, like, it really is just an amazing brand and I've loved them for so long. So the fact that, like, they work with us and invite us on these trip, like, just so cool to me. Like, it's just full circle, honestly. But we ended up going with them to celebrate their new. Some of their new launches and their. The Lip Peptides, honey, they're fire. But lala was fun. I had a great time. I had a great, great, great time.

I didn't know what to expect, you know, and it was Funny because someone was like. Because at first we kind of compared it to Coachella. It's actually a huge four day music festival. And we googled the size because we're like, wow, when we're here, like, it seems so big. So we googled the size and it is a very. It's not the same size as like Squarespace because it's in the city at the park. So it's in the middle of a.

City, by the way, that makes it so different.

[Mara Lee]

Packed it. Whereas Coachella is very, very, very spread out. But it's actually a similar number of people to go. So it's like a hundred thousand people attend a day at Lala and then at Coachella is like 125 to 150 a day. @ Coachella it was a ton.

[Mandy Mua]

So it's like literally the whole freaking Chicago is like a lot of them.

[Mara Lee]

Are going to it.

[Mandy Mua]

And what I loved about like, to me, I kept like doing these things where I was like comparing. I just couldn't help it because I've gone to Coachella, I know, for seven years on the fucking row at this point. And that's all I've ever done. And so now going to a festival that's not in the where I'm used to, I'm like, like I'm just naturally comparing, right. What I loved about Lala so much or Lola plus or whatever is that it's in the middle of the city. So we're staying at a hotel that's in the city. Bitch, it's like a 10 minute walk from your hotel to get to the actual festival.

To be in the actual festival.

[Mandy Mua]

You know what a mission is to get to Coachell.

[Mara Lee]

My and every brand puts you in Palm Springs. Not in India. Where, where Coachella is not in Palm Springs, guys, that is an hour away with traffic. That's an hour away from Coachella. But they have more hotels and resources in Palm Springs, so brands like to put you. So imagine every day, multiple times a day, you're making trips back and forth an hour away in traffic. It's insane. Whereas at Lala, me and Manny were like, oh my God, this is like incredible. You don't even have to call an Uber. No, you can just walk 10 minutes and you are in the festival. And if you want to go home and come back for a little or go to your room and come back. That was one of our favorite things.

I like you walk back and take a nap and go.

[Mara Lee]

Convenience. Yeah, the convenience was free.

[Mandy Mua]

I will say one thing, that a Big difference to my notes is that like Coachella is a very like social thing. Yeah, it's a very like scene. Social, like social. You're going there and like you have a lot of people. You know, there's a lot of friends that you have.

[Mara Lee]

There's more than just music.

[Mandy Mua]

No, it's like more like socializing really. Coachella is like a big social like gathering of like friends and industry people. Lola is just literally just like about like the music and that's really it.

Period.

[Mandy Mua]

Yeah, there's no like a scene there. There's like no scene. There's no like parties around it that are like, you know, all these parties are hotel that you're doing.

[Mara Lee]

It's really shocking. More brands don't take advantage of that and do like activities with Palooza, but.

[Mandy Mua]

They really don't because the reason that they do is that LA is such a hub for. In LA is going to be closer to Coachella and not people are going to. Some of you are not going to go out to Chicago. More people in LA and there's just more people here. So I think that's why they're going to do that and use those resources. But overall had a great time. We saw Cat's Eye. That was my favorite of the whole weekend.

My favorite of the weekend was Dominic Bike, which is slightly more niche the same day Crazy, by the way. Both of our people went on so we went through the list. I mean there's a lot of sick ass people. We saw a lot of cool people. We're just saying our number one like we said out of every everybody performing, like Manny's number one was Cat. My number one I wanted to see is Dominic Bike. And so they both were on Sunday which and they were kind of close to each other instead. So it's kind of perfect and on the same stage. So it was like so perfect. Cat's Eye was like incredible, which I haven't watched the TV show yet.

Manny was telling me you guys like the reason I know of Cat's Eyes because there's a Netflix documentary about like finding Cat's Eye, finding the members for it. And it's like this literal like worldwide search for girls. And then like these six girls have come together and they're picked from this show. And it is so good because I like shows like that. I like when they're like following along like who. Who's gonna be on the team. It's very like cheer. Yeah, it's very like Dallas Cowboys, like competition. But like it's real yeah. And it's real. It's like they're like, as they go.

On to be a part of the team that they made.

Yes. So it's like you follow the journey of the team that. That's the team. Like, that's who they are.

[Mara Lee]

They performs a lot of their songs for the first time ever, too, at Lollapalooza, so. And they were even like, I'm nervous. It was cool. It was, like, really cool. I was, like, blown away by their moves. And they're singing, they're dancing. I'm definitely watching the show.

I'm obsessed with them. So that was, like, my biggest thing. Also, Olivia Rodrigo was incredible. Like, I loved seeing her incredible energy.

The Voice was cr. All the mics are on at Lala.

It's so cool. And I also just, like, when it gets to dusk and you look around in the city skyline is all around you, and you're just, like, in the middle, listening to music.

It's, like, hard to even describe. It's, like, magical. Really. It's, like, really, really cool. So overall, I really, really loved it. It was amazing.

He was incredible. Like, honestly, I'm telling you, like, the people, like, they're there were incredible. If you guys live in Chicago, around Chicago, you should definitely go to Lollapalooza. If I lived there, I would go every single day.

I would go every year if I could.

We also love music and we love concerts. Like, we specifically, we have to, like.

Like, the person, mind you. We have to really be into them. We love going because it's an.

It is like, there's no better feeling.

I love to go in a show when it's someone I'm fucking obsessed with. I will be riding hard in there, jumping up and down. Like, I'll be absolutely living the time. I end up going out on Saturday night.

Wait. It was so funny at Cat's Eye because they performed during the day. It was so hot. Oh, my God, it was so funny. We were standing out there in the blazing heat. I'm talking about Zero Shade. Like, sun is beaming straight over. No, 2pm we got out there. 3pm they started. I mean, we are in the peak of the heat, right? And Manny's like, fuck. Like, I'm dying out here. And I was like, I look at Manny, I go, I. I'm okay. Like, you know, I'm fine here.

This moment made me scream because Laura literally is a sun bunny. Dead ass. Laura is a sun bunny. And she looks at. I'm like. I'm like, dude, I'm fucking dying. Like, I'm melting. Like, honestly, I'm not in the sun like that ever. So I was like, you're like, I want you. You. Lord Das is like, I want you to know. Like, I'm like, okay. And I go, I know you're fucking okay. Something about you. I literally was like, what the fuck are you talking about? I'm not worried about you. You're a fucking lizard. What do you mean? I laugh, busting out. And I'm like this.

Because he's, like, falling apart in the sun. He's cooked. He's cooking out there. And I'm like this, because we're doing it to see Cat's Eye. Like, the sun was the hottest. So that's like his pick of the day, you know? He's like, I want to do Cat Eye. And I'm like, I just want you to know, like, I can be out here all day to see them. Like, don't worry about me. And then he was like, I'm not worried about you.

I'm not worried. I literally was. We were dying because it really was like. It's like their set is like 45 minutes in the middle of the day. And I was like, there's no one here I would ever Even stay out here for, like, this because there's like, oh, I know. There's no breeze at this point. It was like, literally the hottest day in the crowd. It's so hard, mind you. And also, I saw.

Or, like, on.

The stage, I knew that they were selling, like, fans, and they were selling all these things. I would have bought one to be, like, something to fan me.

Something I would have had. I honestly, I saw someone, like, a lot of people had fans around me. I was gonna offer, like, to pay for.

I was literally like, you know what.

She was gonna do? Laura's gonna try me. Laura's gonna go. I was like, laura, should I ask, like, to buy a fan? I'll be like, I'll give him, like, 20 bucks for a fan or 50.

There. And it was fun because we hung out with them a lot over the weekend. They were so, so, so sweet. Tyler Pablo. And it was just. It was just fun to be around, like, other, like two. Of course, two other gay boys. You know, Laura, she's going to. We're going to. We're going to find the.

Listen, whenever I post a picture of me and three gays, I was like, I don't even plan this.

No. It's like, it's literally unplanned.

And we were just like, we were mother and father to them.

Also, Market days is happening this weekend, which I is like a mini pride in Chicago. Yeah, it's called Market Days. And I didn't really know about this. And then cool people were telling me like, oh, it's market days. This, this weekend. You should like stay. And I was like, I'm not staying a whole ass week or anything. But it was cool. Like the idea of Market Days, I thought was really cute idea. It's like a mini pride and they have little performers.

That's really cool. I love that so much. A lot of iconic Chicago queens out there.

And there's a gap this like 3 inches big underneath the door. So I could have pretty much stuck my hand out of the door and been like, hello. Like, it just. It was just an old hotel, so it wasn't like the doors. So it's like one of those old hotels where the rooms are connected but they'll keep the doors locked, you know, in case two parties and then you could share the room. Yeah. Friends or whatever old school hotels used to do. I don't do that anymore. But anyways, with those in between doors. I was sandwiched in between two rooms, by the way, so I got to be. You can. It is literally like a piece of paper.

Like you're in the Same Room on YouTube. 10 hours of ocean sounds to just slightly drown out that I had to put towels underneath my. Like the door cracks to like negate their sounds. Like, I'm talking, you guys. Like someone put a blow dryer on, like any little thing.

A person sneeze, fart, and then call to check out at 6 o' clock in the morning. The person on the other side of me. The next people that checked in were snores. I heard every breath in their sleep. I was like, turn over.

Get him a goddess cpap. So, you guys, I literally was like, I have to take the sleeping aid this night because I'm so. And we're waking up so early. Like, I'm not gonna make it.

You can't go to bed at 3am and wake up, like, two hours later.

I can't. I was like, I'm not gonna survive. Not in this age of this sleep. Like, I'm sleep deprived.

And, you know, too many nights in a row too, that we weren't sleeping. Like, it's fine because you can go home and just sleep a bunch and catch up. Like, three hours. Three hours? Three hours. But, like, it was the fourth night and we had to wake up early. So we're like, okay, let's take sleeping pills. We'll set our survivors and we'll be on our way. Okay, so this is the thing about Manny. Manny is the most punctual person I've ever met in my entire life. And that works really, really well for our friendship.

Because I really appreciate punctuality. So it just marries very well together.

Okay, so I we scheduled an Uber for 7:30 in the morning, and my phone text me and said, your Uber's here at 7:16. So I text Manny and I said, hey, the Uber's here early. Let me know if you want to go down a little early. I didn't hear back from Manny, so that already is a red flag for.

Me, by the way. And, like, in a minute time, you.

Know, I me he's very responsive and he's very punctual. That is two things for, like, the past 10 years that have never changed. Responsive and punctual. Okay, so he doesn't respond to me, and that's a red flag. But he told me the night before he was gonna take a shower in the morning. So I go, okay, maybe he's in the shower. I'm gonna give it a few more minutes.

7:25. So it's been. Are you downstairs at 7:25. I text you and I go. Cause that's 10 minutes later. And I'm like, he should be out of the shower by now. So then I go, I'm going downstairs to get the car. Okay. So we're on the 23rd floor, so we had to go all the way down. Walk all the way. By the time I got to the car, it was 7:30. As soon as I got to the said, my best friend is still asleep. I have to go get him. Sir, please just wait here because I.

Let me tell you, you're into it. Got you.

Because I said this fucker would have. It is time to be downstairs. It's like, he must be held hostage if Manny isn't downstairs at 7:30 on the dot. Because he's punctual. He's so punctual. Like, there's no. And he hasn't even texted me. No, he's asleep. This bitch is asleep. This bitch didn't set his alarm. I knew immediately. And I saw. So luckily, I almost left my key cards in the room to check out. You know, sometimes you'll just leave them in there. I was like, I'm gonna keep one key card with me. You never know.

Because that is the only way you can get to the penthouse floor, into his floor. So I was like, thank God. Because I would have been trapped. So then I was like, sir, please hang my bags. I got lost. I was sweating, right?

You guys, when I tell you that knock, it literally jolt. I literally, like this. I levitated off the bed. So I'm literally like, oh, my God. Like, I think the neighbor's trying to break into my room. That's my. That was my first thought. The neighbor's trying to break into my room. Cause, like, you know, we have that connected door. So it's like literally, literally the door to go out to the hallway and the door here. And that's what I thought was being like, oh, my God. Like, is he okay? So I open the door. I'm literally in choney's.

Just butt naked. Just in a choney. I open it and I look and it's Laura. And you're like, you didn't say you're fucking.

My bathroom stuff goes in like that stuff, you guys. I didn't get a shower. It literally was like, like do or die. Because they were like, okay, you have three minutes because we're gonna leave.

Oh yeah. The Uber was like, we'll have to cancel if he's not down here in three minutes. But Ty told me because I was telling him the story and he was like, you know, you can tell them to start your ride and just sit there and like they can just charge you. I didn't know that though. I never knew that. You could say, yeah, I'd be like, just start the ride. I don't give a. Because you know, trying to get another SUV out there at 7:30 in the morning would have taken another 10 minutes.

Yeah. And we didn't want to like be late because we wanted to actually airport.

We're not getting there two hours ahead anyway.

I have literally set my alarm and I did set my alarm and it never went off. I don't know if that's ever happened to you guys where you did set it and it doesn't go off. I said it did never went off.

And so then I guess, apparently so Kenny ended up posting after I be like, hey, you guys. You know, like, sometimes things just don't work out. His. His is so chat gbt. Essentially. These are all cast members from last season, by the way. They've cusses him out. Serena comments on a post. He's a racist clout chaser.

It's literally like, wait, what the. So it's literally crazy. Janae posts again. She goes, kenny, do not piss me off. Like, your little post didn't take accountability for shit. I was being nice. So then it became a whole nother thing where I was literally like, oh, my God.

Yeah. She was like, take that shit down before I expose what you really did. Or something along the lines, like, I'm gonna outweigh you. You did if you don't stop.

You didn't own your shit is crazy. Yeah, is what she said. Didn't take any accountability for his actions, whatever actions they might be. Who knows at this point? But it's a lot of hearsay, a lot of speculation. The biggest speculation, the biggest rumor that's on the streets that what people are saying is that his text message thread with his group chat, like, his good friends, was leaked and he actually was faking it this entire time. He was faking the relationship the whole time. Basically, just like, I can't wait to. Otherwise is like, literally the worst things that someone could say about the person that they're with was being said in this chat.

And this is a group chat between him and, like, his personal friends outside of the villa, people outside of influencers and stuff. This is a real conversation going on with his real, you know, friends that he knew before the show. And apparently he's name calling her some pretty nasty names. He's saying, I'm just doing this, you know, for allegedly. He says, you know, I'm just doing this for clout to get this job done.

But it's crazy.

They had been together for a year.

Baking it the whole time.

She wasn't. So like, this got leaked. They figured it out and it's just insane.

And was also crazy. Jana's actual best friend, that's not like part of the show. She posted on her stories. Be like, hey, you guys, like all the girlies out there, don't forget to check your man's phone. If you can look for blank, like these like things she put in quotes. I can't remember exactly. It was literally like clout. Or like, I want to get paid more money for this. Or like inappropriate flags, red flags. Like, I'm just saying you should look for these things. So everyone obviously put two and two together to be like, oh my God, like the threat is real. Yeah, this is probably what happened. Because how would her best friend say, look through your man's phone, look for these specific things. So basically that's like what people are saying is happening is like this thread got leaked and that. That's basically what it is. That he was just like, basically this horrible. Which honestly to me is really, really surprising, I will say, because during the show he seemed like really genuine and sweet. And we had seen them like seemed very genuine and sweet. He just didn't seem like the type person that would do that.

If that is real. Which I mean, come on. I mean all their reactions make it seem like this situation that's a psychopath.

Because like for you to not have feelings in that way, to be like, oh, I don't really even with her like that. But you've been with them for a year. You have no emotions.

Yeah.

Cuz how could you do that? How could you do that? Insane to me, like to be such a cloud chasing ass bitch. To be with someone from a show. The whole like you could have been with her for like a couple months and ended it to be like, you know what? Like it is what it is. Like it's over. But he kept it. He kept.

That's why these shows are so frustrating to me though, because like when you watch Love island now after the season that blew up for the us, which was their season, like everyone on the next season ever, which was the season we just watched, you could tell they're like, they're all in it for Cloud. It seems like, honestly, Low Key, not a Maya Loki, because she didn't even have anyone running her socially.

So it did make me think that she was possibly not in it for.

Then whenever, you know, everybody treats Amaya Low Key like shit on the show. And then whenever they find out as soon what America thinks, they're all kissing her ass and being nice to her. I'm like, y' all fake as fuck. Like, you're all here for followers, so it makes it frustrating to watch. But there's nothing you can do about that because at the end of the day, like, just gonna get worse and worse. Like, for tv like, that. Like, it's not genuine. It makes me like, are any of the relationships real?

It's honestly, it's crazy to me. Yeah, like the whole thing to me is actually really crazy that people can like feel like that about people. And the thing is like they lose their humanity in a way. Like they just want to follow the herd mentality and they think it's funny and dramatic, but it's not. It's so much more than that.

And people like, like don't they forget to have empathy.

We just go back to it because at the end of the day, there is. It's not a logical theme. It's a thing of it as like a hive. It's really. It's not logical. It's literally just like a movie logic. And people don't think about it. And honestly, they could be thinking logically, but they don't care.
