We’ll discuss what we love about the movie or perhaps don’t love about it and decide whether the movie is worth a revisit.

He is consistently ungrateful and disruptive, yet faces no real consequences and does not learn any meaningful lesson by the end. In contrast, Kazihiro is a much more compelling character, someone you want to root for, though the film leaves a lot of his personal story unexplored, especially when it comes to his family and transition to life in the United States.The ending is another sticking point. Instead of feeling earned, it leans on a convenient resolution where characters essentially pretend success into existence, rather than working toward a believable payoff. Still, the Mikes acknowledge that this may partly come down to modern expectations. While it may not hit quite the same heights as that first IMAX 3D experience, "Gravity" still holds up as an intense and visually stunning survival story.Sandra Bullock carries the film almost entirely on her own, delivering a performance that keeps the tension grounded and the stakes personal. George Clooney adds a memorable and charismatic presence that helps balance the film’s more intense moments.The Mikes do have a couple of small nitpicks. Butler feels the film loses a bit of momentum toward the end of the second act, and Field is not a big fan of the repeated space station problem Bullock’s character has to face. Still, these are minor issues in an otherwise gripping and well-crafted film.Tense, immersive, and technically impressive, "Gravity" remains a standout survival story and a deserving Audience Choice selection.What's your favorite "realistic" sci-fi film?
