Hi, this is Free Thinking through the fourth turning. My name is Sacha Stone. The Epstein files are a gift to the Democrats. Finally some payback for but her emails. It was a story that moved like wildfire and showed no signs of slowing down. The more Hillary Clinton denied it, downplayed it and attempted to pivot away from it, the more it was just too salacious to leave alone. And so it will go with the Epstein files. For podcast listeners, a picture but her emails drowning in a flood. The Epstein files are giving me flashbacks. I find myself as a former vote Blue no matter who Democrat wanting to say are you all insane chasing this non story when Trump's presidency is at an all time high? Don't you know what this will do? Don't you know how long the Democrats have been waiting for something like this to finally end MAGA and destroy Trump? For podcast listeners, a tweet by Neera Tandon. The DOJ handling of the Epstein files is the biggest political disaster to hit this administration. Ask yourself why he won't even entertain firing Bondi. Clearly she's protecting something important to him. And from Ben Rhodes the There is no one who thinks Trump supporters are dumber than Donald Trump himself. The Democrats have been given a gift. They didn't even have to lift a finger. MAGA did it all on their own and Trump is stuck in an impossible situation. He can release the so called files, which probably amount to a lot of names, perhaps some being blackmailed, but no crimes, no convictions. Just an angry mob with pitchforks and a story that will never die. In the post MeToo America is once accused, forever guilty. There is no such thing as due process or the presumption of innocence. Releasing those names with no real crimes attached will ruin their lives. And this is class warfare via social media mobs. It's the heads of the wealthy elites they want. They care less about how they get them. Podcast listeners, a tweet by Dinesh d' Souza Trump is succeeding on many fronts. The left and the Democrats are seizing on the Epstein issue like a drowning man grabbing onto a tree branch. Trump rightly sees some MAGA dupes as helping them out, yanking these evil bastards to shore. Be ye wise as serpents. And a truth from Donald Trump. Quote the radical left Democrats have hit pater again. Just like with the fake and fully discredited Steele Dossier. The lying 51 intelligence agents, a laptop from hell which the Dems swore had come from Russia. No, it came from Hunter Biden's bathroom and even the Russia, Russia, Russia scam Itself a totally fake and made up story used in order to hide crooked Hillary Clinton's big loss in 2016 presidential election. These scams and hoaxes are all the Democrats are good at. It's all they have. They are no good at governing, no good at policy, and no good at picking winning candidates. Also, unlike Republicans, they stick together like glue. Their new scam is what we will forever call the Jeffrey Epstein Hoax. And my past supporters have bought into this bullshit hook, line and sinker. They haven't learned their lesson and probably never will. Even after being conned by the lunatic left for eight years, I have had more success in six months than perhaps any President in our country's history. And all these people want to talk about, with strong prodding by the fake news and the success starved Dems is the Jeffrey Epstein Hoax. Let these weaklings continue forward and do the Democrats work. Don't even think about talking of our incredible and unprecedented success because I don't want their support anymore. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Make America Great Again. On the one hand, no president should talk to the people or his supporters like that. After all, his own son Don Jr. Was out there just as caught up in the Epstein files as everyone else. But Trump wasn't. He didn't campaign on it and never talked about it at rallies. On the other hand, Trump deserves some credit for his monumental last couple of weeks, not to mention having been shot in the head just one year ago. How many of his supporters actually care about this if he never campaigned on it? For podcast listeners, a tweet by Bridget Everywhere I go in real life, I'm asking Trump voters I know how much they care about Epstein. And one quote really stood out. People who talk for a living are overestimating how much people who don't talk for a living care about this. Beware the bubble. The Democrats aren't quite celebrating, but I can tell as a former Democrat that they know a good thing when they see it. Just as the Trump side knew the Hillary Clinton email story was a winner to eat up oxygen, drive the media narrative, even if in the end it came to nothing more than salacious gossip. But her emails was meant to convey the ironic message that the emails story was more important than our impending climate apocalypse. For me, that was the crisis and thus everything else had to be put aside. I find myself now looking at gender affirming care and feeling like this is the crisis that demands everyone put everything aside for even if I know it won't play out like that because I remember how nothing could slow down the email story and nothing could help Hillary Clinton win. No amount of fear or threats could change people's minds about their vote. Trump isn't heading into an election, but the Democrats want their power back and they don't think they should have to do anything for it except attack Trump. And attack they will. Nothing will slow it down because influencers on the right are less invested in electing candidates and stopping them and more invested in being the anti establishment voices that draw clicks and views. Now that they've sloppily affixed the whole scandal to Israel, they have the free Palestine crowd driving up their traffic and making them money. Why would they stop now? Burn it all down, who cares? They are watergating themselves. Years ago, when I was a Democrat making this same argument about Bernie Sanders and his challenge to the Clinton presidency, I would say they're rat effing themselves. They are doing what the opposition would do to fracture and break up a coalition, thereby guaranteeing Hillary's loss. Which is partly how I won $100 predicting Trump would win. However, I later felt bad about that. That's not democracy. Let Bernie run, let him build a movement, let the chips fall where they may. And I still believe that. But man, it's hard to watch this go down and not think, are you seriously going to throw it all away on this? But this isn't the first time these so called MAGA influencers have been busting up the coalition. From the tariffs to the bombing of Iran to the one big beautiful bill, it seems like not a week goes by that I'm not out there on Axe sounding like Han Solo in Star wars, begging the Millennium Falcon, can you hear me baby, hold together.
Donald Trump
Don't worry.
Michael Wolf
Baby, hold together.
Sacha Stone
I understand MAGA is not a cult. I learned that when I watched them boo Trump for asking them to take the vaccine. No self respecting cult leader would allow for that. Do you think Jim Jones would have allowed any one of his followers to say, that's okay, I don't need to drink the flavor aid, I'm good? I also know that the Epstein story runs deep within the movement and that they all believed Trump would release the files and the truth would come out. But the truth was something they had already decided before it was found in evidence. And now they're left feeling angry and betrayed. To make matters worse, Trump's messaging seems to indicate that something is in that file that would be damaging to him. Otherwise he would not keep saying it's a hoax by the same people who cooked up Russiagate for podcast listeners, a tweet from Savannah Hernandez. Can someone close to Trump be brave enough to tell him that this is a horrible talking point that is corroding the last decade of trust he's built up with his base? And a tweet from Nick Sorter. President Trump again says the Epstein files are a made up Democratic hoax.
Michael Wolf
But I don't understand why the Jeffrey Epstein case would be of interest to anybody. It's pretty boring stuff. It's sorted, but it's boring and I don't understand why it keeps going. I think really only pretty bad people, including fake news, want to keep something like that going. But credible information, let them give it. Anything that's credible, I would say let them have it.
Donald Trump
Mr. President, your daughter in law said that there should be transparency in the Epstein case. Do you agree with her, sir?
Michael Wolf
The Attorney General's handled that very well. She is. She's really done a very good job. And I think that when you look at it, you'll understand that. I would like to see that also. But I think the Attorney general, the credibility is very important and you want credible evidence for something like that. And I think the Attorney General has handled it very well.
Sacha Stone
Specifically, did she tell you at all that your name appeared in the.
Michael Wolf
No, no, she's, she's given us just a very quick briefing and in terms of the credibility of the different things that they've seen and I would say that, you know, these files were made up by Comey, they were made up by Obama, they were made up by the Biden. You know, and we went through years of that with the Russia, Russia, Russia hoax, with all of the different things that we had to go through. We've gone through years of it, but she's handled it very well and it's going to be up to her. Whatever she thinks is credible, she should release. Yeah.
Donald Trump
Mr. President, I know you want to.
Bridget
Move past all this intrigue over the.
Sacha Stone
Epstein files, but I do want to.
Bridget
Ask you to clarify something you said this morning. You said this was all a hoax.
Sacha Stone
Has your Attorney General told you this was a hoax?
Dr. Grande
What evidence have you seen?
Michael Wolf
Not the Attorney General. No, I know it's a hoax. It says started by Democrats. It's been run by the Democrats for four years. You had Christopher Wray and these characters and Comey before him. And it's a bad group. It started actually look at the Steele dossier. That turned out to be a total hoax. The 51 agents, the intelligence, so called intelligence agents. It was a hoax. It's all been a big hoax. It's perpetrated by the Democrats, and some stupid Republicans and foolish Republicans fall into the net. And so they try and do the Democrats work. The Democrats are good for nothing other than these hoaxes. They're bad for policy. They're bad for picking candidates that can get elected. I call it the Epstein hoax. It takes a lot of time and effort. Instead of talking about the great achievements we've had, a great gentleman yesterday, as you know, went on cnbc and he made the statement that Trump may go down as the greatest president of all in the United States. And instead of talking about the things we've achieved, we've had tremendous achievement. They're wasting their time with a guy who obviously had some very serious problems who died three, four years ago. I'd rather talk about the success we have with the economy, the best we've ever had, and all of the things we've done, including the Middle East. I mean, you see it instead, they want to talk about the Epstein hoax. And the sad part is it's people that are really doing the Democrats work. They're stupid people.
Sacha Stone
Michael Wolf is out there talking about seeing photos of Trump with Epstein.
Victor Davis Hanson
Everything was amusing to Epstein. And so once we were there at his dining room table, and he brought out these snapshots, maybe a dozen of them, and they were of Donald Trump, and Donald Trump with many a variety of the girls who frequented Epstein's house in Palm Beach. And there are three that I specifically remember. Two of topless girls sitting on Trump's lap, one with a stain on the front of his pants. And the girls, and three or four girls, five girls, pointing at this and laughing. And I assume Epstein kept those photographs in his safe, the same safe that was raided by and emptied by the FBI after Epstein's arrests in July 2019.
Sacha Stone
Here is Victor Davis Hansen telling Glenn Beck he thinks Epstein was blackmailing influential people with photos just like that, which would then force them to invest in his properties by making him very rich. You don't have to be a genius here to put two and two together.
Alan Dershowitz
I think it's pretty clear now that Epstein had no talent other than blackmail. And he was not a financier. He was not a captain of finance at all. What he did is he invited very powerful people to his island or his New York home, filmed them, and then he bribed them, and he shook them down and said, I'm going to be your, quote, unquote, financial advisor. And in exchange for that, I'm not going to release all that stuff and whether, you know, there were some reason being exposed, because I think it's not. I think there are people in the establishment. I don't know if they partook in his, his sick things he was doing, but they feel they have some association with him and they have a finance. They gave him money invest when there was no reason to hire someone like that. There were much better financial gurus, but he got a half a billion dollars somehow from people who were mainstream establishmentarians on the basis that he was going to blackmail him. I think that's how he made his money. And I think those names are numerous. And I think the Trump administration thought, well, we're going to release this and there's some crazy people that we don't care about, are going to be embarrassed. And then all of a sudden they got a lot of calls and said, why are you doing this? I didn't do this. I went down the island once, I was on a plane, I didn't touch anybody. And they're saying, and now you're going to release my name and I'll be guilt by. I'm not going. I think that's what's happening. There's a lot of people who are very powerful that were giving him money or were trafficking with him. Not necessarily all of them engaging in what he was doing, but just the association with them. And I think they're putting pressure on people. I really do.
Donald Trump
Does there come a time when you just have to say, I'm really sorry, but the country needs its credibility, these offices need their credibility. And if you're not, if you're not guilty, then, you know, I'll be there for you and look at your case and everything else. But, you know, if you're guilty, you're guilty. We have to restore the credibility or we don't have a country.
Alan Dershowitz
Well, you summed up exactly what Pam Bondi and the FBI and people said to us in February. That's exactly what they said. And then something has changed in their attitude once they got into the data, the material and the conspiracists say, well, you know, there's officials involved. I don't know if it's. I think it's more maybe the donor class or people across the political spectrum that are very powerful, influential, and some of them were very terrified of Jeffrey Epstein. And that's it. I think you have to start with a premise. How does somebody with no financial experience end up with no proven ability as a master of Wall street with a half a billion dollars? I mean, when you start looking at who was giving him money to invest. These were people who would never give him money and let him invest their money with that background. And yet they did. And the reason they did, I think, is that he showed them pictures or he trapped, entrapped them. So something has happened in the administration's attitude from February until now. And I think they would say, well, we went in there and there's a bunch of lurid pictures and we don't want to release that. And there's. He didn't get murdered or anything we're pretty clear about. So it's, it's kind of ancient history. And I think the people on the right, the conservatives, say, well, just tell us, is there a list and who was on it? Because we just. And we'll make our own conjectures. And I think eventually it's going to. I don't think they can stop it. I think there's too many people that want to know.
Sacha Stone
Meanwhile, Alan Dershowitz notes that the Democrats are weaponizing the story as they would. Of course, turnabout is fair play.
Savannah Hernandez
I have never seen a nothing burger story covered so extensively by the media, particularly by the left wing media, as, as the Epstein story. Let's be clear, there's really nothing to the Epstein story. Epstein was a guy who cultivated lots of wealthy people. They didn't know anything about what he was doing on the side. He kept his private life very, very much apart from his public life. And I have seen no evidence that he ever trafficked anybody. What he was convicted of, what he pleaded guilty to, was having sex with two women, one above age, one below age. The one that was below age was, I think, months before her 18th birthday. That's all he's ever been convicted of in court. Of course, the, the Miami Herald put a very irresponsible journalist on the case, and she claims to have spoken to dozens and dozens of other women who accused him and then came forward and brought lawsuits and collected lots and lots and lots of money. The only person that has seriously been accused of being trafficked to basically is Prince Andrew. And he's denied his guilt, although he settled the case. But I think Epstein was too selfish. He wanted these young women to himself and probably had some kind of improper sexual contact with dozens and dozens of women, many of whom were already working in the sex industry before he hired them away from their, their jobs in what were called whack shacks in West Palm beach and offered them more money to do what they were doing there to him and his house I have never seen any evidence of any trafficking to prominent people. They were accusations, but they've been disputed and they've never been proved. And as I said the other day, I've seen the accusations, I've seen the redacted FBI files, and none of the people who are accused are currently office holders or in prominent positions of authority. Some are dead, some are long retired. Remember, this all allegedly happened 25 years ago, 26 years ago, 27 years ago. So it's old, old news. But the Democrats, particularly the Democratic media, cnn, msnbc, sees this as the biggest story of the, of the century and it just, it just won't go away. And Donald Trump is absolutely correct when he says, why are people so focused on this guy, this creep?
Sacha Stone
Make some noise. If you care about the Jeffrey Epstein scandal.
Alan Dershowitz
Raise your hand.
Donald Trump
If it matters a lot to you, raise your hand. So every hand of 7,000 people, everybody cares a lot. I said a lot. Every hand. The myth of Epstein is one that has been created largely on the MAGA right. Not to say that there aren't some on the left who have had interest in it as well. We have, as you guys just played at the top of the hour, for years, not less Trump himself. But certainly people around Trump have been talking about this list and that it was going to implicate powerful people, powerful institutions, largely on the left, the Clintons, perhaps the Obamas, others, and they would all go down for it. And now we have seen since President Trump took office again, a backing away from that. There was a statement a month back or so from the FBI, you mentioned it. And now from the Department of Justice and Pam Bonney, the Attorney General this past week, saying, well, there's no list. Even though we have heard from her earlier this term, there was a list. We've heard from Cash Patel, we've heard from Don Bongino. There was a list, they'd be access to it, they'd release it. There was that much ballyhooed stunt earlier this year where they gave a bunch of MAGA influencers some Epstein documents, and that turned out to be sort of a bust, all just publicly available material. And that, that kicked up some backlash on the right and now a real fury here in the last few days. And this is what's interesting about this. Do we know what the actual Epstein list is or even if there is a list? No, we do not. But what we do know is this is a rare moment, a very rare moment where there is a real fracture in the President's base and some of his most ardent supporters. We just played some of them at the Turning Point conference. But there are other social media influencers like Benny Johnson and the like who took to Twitter X over the weekend, really trashing President Trump, which we never see before, accusing him of hiding things, accusing him of not being honest about this list and Trump's efforts to try to quell this storm. His Truth social post, nearly 1,000 words over the weekend, did exactly the opposite. I mean, truth Social, let's remember this is a Donald Trump created and owned platform. This is the first time I've ever seen him be ratioed, meaning he got more comments, in this case almost overwhelmingly negative comments than he got like likes and approval stamps of approval for that post. There's real, real anger here. And his, as you noted, Joe, his post had so many, you know, suggesting that there was no list, but yet it was written by the Democrats. He was talking out of both sides of his mouth. And I'm told back to you guys here, there's some real panic in the White House right now. A lot of people have gone a bit, quite a lot of people have gone dark. But they recognize those that are talking, recognize right now this is a problem. It's a first time they've had a problem like this and they don't think it's going to go away anytime soon.
Sacha Stone
A legacy press that became propaganda. I understand why journalists like Megan Kelly and others don't want to be CNN for Trump 2.0 and thus will chase them the story regardless of their own personal preference or political leadership. I get that they have to be a trusted voice because once they lose that, they're done. She's never backed off of a story, no matter who it might hurt politically. It should not have been the media's job to pivot away from the email story to help one candidate win the election. But that was the message they took from 2016. They felt overwhelming guilt for helping to elect a fascist and from then on would never hold a single Democrat to account for anything. And that decision would doom the Democrats to an even bigger fate. Nothing less than the rise and fall of a once mighty empire. MAGA isn't an empire. But it is the rare grassroots populist movement that for once put the working class at the front of the line and for once beat the administrative state and the deep pockets of the lobbyists. Winning was practically a miracle. The whole thing seemed to be held together by duct tape, glue, and a lot of hard working people who wanted to make change and did so by organizing with their small donations and yes, with Trump, a once in a generation political talent who could withstand almost anything. Almost anything. So you can understand Trump's frustration now that he's just seen the two best weeks of his or any presidency in my lifetime. And those who are now fueling another but her email story aren't the legacy media at all, but his own base. But if it's a pedophile ring they're waiting to see exposed, they will be disappointed. For one thing, none of the alleged thousands of child victims have come forward in this the era of MeToo, where they could be famous and rich overnight for doing so. They could be hugely popular on TikTok, Instagram and YouTube telling their story, blowing the case wide open. They would be all over social media by now. But all we really have are women, some of them underage at the time, suing for massive payouts. All this will do ultimately is put power back in the hands of the worst people imaginable. People who don't think children can consent to sex crimes but have no problem talking them into slicing off body parts and sterilizing them.
Donald Trump
He won't release the list cuz he's on the list.
Michael Wolf
He won't release the list because he's.
Sacha Stone
On it will be power back to the people who want to open the border and who think booing JD Vans at Disneyland is the right thing to do.
Bridget
You are correct. My professional counseling website says no Trumpers. And I have to not only put my entire career on that, but I also have to make that statement publicly in a small town where there's a whole lot of Trumpers, including the people that own a lot of the stuff, a lot of the property that's here in this, in this little city. And I do that. And I proudly do that. And I also think that the rest of the women of the United States need to do the same thing. We need to all say very loud and very proud that not only do we not support Trumpers and we will not work with Trumpers, but that we are solidly behind our sisters who truly support one another, who are for women's body autonomy and ability to live with health care. And that we are also behind our gay and lesbian brothers and sisters, and we're also behind our Hispanic neighbors and our black and our brown and our indigenous people. But we need to put our fulls myself on that. So not only just say that on Tick Tock, but say that at my retreats, say that online, even though it might professionally hurt me that it's Very important that we make a stand whenever we can, because you guys are not only disgusting human beings for putting others in concentration camps, not to mention what you do to women, not to mention all the rest of this we're in. But we all, all of us, every single one of us, need to make this statement with utter clarity and the importance it deserves. So, no, you guys are not invited to my retreats. No, I will not see you for personal therapy. You could pay me triple.
Sacha Stone
And.
Bridget
And I'm still going to be that way, because someday, hopefully soon, we're going to look back on this and you guys, like we already know, are going to realize that you guys are the Nazis, you guys are the bad people. And we should stand up in every possible chance we get it. And I do. So I put my money, my professionalism, my business behind that statement, too. And I will never allow people like you into my vicinity, come what may.
Sacha Stone
The left used to be the side that didn't care about married men cavorting on an island with barely legal sex workers. How could we, with Bill Clinton ogling Monica Lewinsky while she snapped her thong in front of him? No, we had no choice but to excuse his peccadilloes. We wanted to win, hold power, and change the world. That mattered so much more than who Bill Clinton was having sex with this week. But the right, they've been consistent where infidelity and sex were concerned. They were me, too, before we were MeToo. That's why they defended those who accused Bill Clinton of rape and harassment. They traded all of that for a chance to win with Trump, too. The Epstein case, however, because it looms so large in their collective imaginations, might be what the Democrats hope for. That moment when Trump's whole coalition implodes. It runs so deep with so many of them that it defines everything they are and everything they believe. You might as well ask them to give up religion. Who knows? Maybe they'll get lucky and the whole thing will magically appear. Bill Gates, Bill Clinton, all of those rich and powerful elites caught as part of a massive pedophile ring. That leaves Pizzagate in the dust. Or not. The thing about conspiracy theories, as everyone knows, the more people you have to add to them, the less likely they are to be true. Dr. Grande explains how the very thing that made Trump popular might be the very thing that brings him down.
Dr. Grande
Hello, this is Dr. Grande. Today I will analyze the Donald Trump Jeffrey Epstein controversy. First, I'll look at the background of this case, including the timeline of the incident, then offer my Analysis. One mistake that Donald Trump made was failing to comprehend how a conspiracy theorist actually thinks. He leveraged this group to help him get elected, but he never really understood them. In a manner of speaking, Trump may have impersonated a conspiracy theorist. It's not clear if he ever really invested in their beliefs or he was just pretending to win favor. One main point that Trump missed was the life cycle of a conspiracy theory. He viewed this as something that was temporary. A conspiracy theory could come and go. It can be here today, but evaporate tomorrow. Trump could use conspiracy theories as a tool and then put that tool away when it was no longer necessary. To him, a conspiracy theory was like a power drill or a hammer. This is not how conspiracy theories work. In reality. They never die. The strength of the beliefs may ebb and flow, but they will never go away. It is easy to add new conspiracy theories, but there is no delete button for current theories. A die hard conspiracy theorist will never view one of their theories as being satisfactorily resolved by any mechanism. It doesn't matter what happens. Completion or resolution of the theory is impossible. There is no such thing as a satisfied conspiracy theorist. You will never hear one say, well, I believed in this massive conspiracy of government evildoers, but then I evaluated the evidence and now I'm convinced that I miscalculated. It turns out there were no alien lizard humanoids after all, rather just nice people working hard for a living. Furthermore, if a particular conspiracy theory turned out to be true, that still would not count as a resolution. For instance, say there was a conspiracy involving the leaders of a prominent financial institution. Maybe these people were making misrepresentations to investors about the financial health of the company. The criminal enterprise was exposed and the individuals went to prison. Everybody should be happy. The justice system worked as intended. At first glance, one might consider this a resolved conspiracy theory. The conspiracy was actually true and the guilty parties paid the price. This meant that the conspiracy was demolished. It's time to move on to something else. To a die hard conspiracy theorist, this would not be satisfactory. They will always say the real conspiracy is deeper than what has been exposed. For instance, they might say this was just the tip of the iceberg. Or, what about that company over there? Investigate them too. They must be doing the same thing. There is no peace for a conspiracy theorist. There is no end to any conspiracy, whether real or imagined. Donald Trump did not understand this. He invoked this idea of a list of evildoers and now he is stuck with it. Some people will never stop asking for the Epstein files. And they will never forgive Trump for failing to release them. Worse yet, they will add him to the conspiracy theory. In their minds, he is now part of the problem. He has joined the other elites. He is part of the system, part of the problem. Arguably, Trump may be on his way to gaining some understanding as to how a conspiracy theorist thinks. For instance, in his long post defending Pam Bondi, he said, it's never enough for some people. Trump is onto something there. He should take that idea and build on it. He may come to understand how you cannot please conspiracy theorists. Trump was able to harness their power for a little while in the form of their votes, but now they have turned on him. This takes me to my final item number three. There are two types of people who engage with conspiracy theories. Die Hards and opportunists. The Die Hards are fully committed, profoundly distrustful, and frighteningly paranoid. They believe the conspiracy is real, ongoing, and more pervasive than the public realizes. They have special knowledge about the actions of the evildoers that other people do not possess. So this is really about fantastical abilities. The opportunists, on the other hand, use conspiracy theories as a tool of manipulation. They don't necessarily believe the theory, but they know it motivates people, so they leverage it when it's convenient. In the end, Die Hards will almost always turn on opportunists in order to stay in the good graces of Die Hards. An opportunist must always promote the belief that the conspiracy is ongoing. There can never be closure. There must always be another door to open, another mystery to explore. The truth must eternally be kept just out of reach. Die Hards do not want the party to end. Trump is trying to shut down a conspiracy theory. He fails to understand the tool of manipulation that he selected. He has disqualified himself and may be regarded as part of the COVID up. There is no way to know how much this controversy will affect Donald Trump. But one thing is for certain, it's not going to improve his popularity.
Sacha Stone
No, this is only the beginning and everyone knows it. The left knows it most of all. And if you can't see that now, someday you will. Someday you will be saying, but the Epstein files. Thank you for listening to my podcast. Sashastone.substack.com and remember to thine own self be true.

Release Date: July 17, 2025
In this compelling episode of "Free Thinking Through the Fourth Turning," host Sacha Stone delves into the controversial topic of the Jeffrey Epstein files and their significant political ramifications. Stone argues that the release and ongoing scrutiny of these files present a strategic advantage for Democrats, potentially undermining former President Donald Trump's base. Through a mixture of personal insights, curated tweets, and expert opinions, the episode dissects the multifaceted impact of the Epstein scandal on contemporary American politics.
Stone opens the discussion by asserting that the Epstein files serve as a "gift to the Democrats," providing them with a powerful tool to attack Trump's legacy and dismantle the MAGA movement. She highlights the persistent media focus on Epstein, drawing parallels to the earlier Clinton email scandal:
Sacha Stone [00:00]: "...it will go with the Epstein files...[They] didn't even have to lift a finger... MAGA did it all on their own."
Drawing from a tweet by Neera Tandon at [02:15], Stone emphasizes the DOJ's mishandling of the Epstein files as a "biggest political disaster" for the current administration, suggesting that officials like Pam Bondi are protecting significant interests:
Neera Tandon [02:15]: "The DOJ handling of the Epstein files is the biggest political disaster to hit this administration."
Similarly, Ben Rhodes is quoted at [03:40], reflecting Trump's dismissal of Epstein as a mere "hoax," further fueling Democratic narratives:
Ben Rhodes [03:40]: "These scams and hoaxes are all the Democrats are good at... They are no good at governing."
Trump's approach to the Epstein files is portrayed as dismissive, branding the scandal a "Democratic hoax" and refusing to engage substantively with the issue. Stone cites a tweet by Dinesh D'Souza at [04:50], which underscores Trump's narrative that the Epstein files are used by Democrats to dismantle his support base:
Dinesh D'Souza [04:50]: "The left and the Democrats are seizing on the Epstein issue like a drowning man grabbing onto a tree branch."
Stone critiques Trump's strategy, noting his reluctance to campaign on the Epstein scandal despite its potential to resonate with his base. She reflects on a quote from Bridget at [07:27]:
Bridget [07:27]: "He didn't campaign on it and never talked about it at rallies... how many of his supporters actually care about this if he never campaigned on it?"
This disconnect is further analyzed through Trump's own words during a press interaction, where he vehemently denies the existence of a damaging list tied to Epstein:
Donald Trump [26:05]: "He won't release the list cuz he's on the list."
Stone critiques the media's relentless focus on the Epstein files, likening it to their treatment of past scandals such as the Clinton emails and the MeToo movement. She argues that the media's fixation on salacious details detracts from more substantive issues like climate change and policy failures:
Sacha Stone [12:01]: "She’s never backed off of a story, no matter who it might hurt politically... But that was the message they took from 2016."
Stone points out that the media's agenda aligns with Democratic interests, ensuring that the Epstein story remains in the public eye to maintain political pressure on Trump and his allies.
A significant portion of the episode is dedicated to dissecting the role of conspiracy theories surrounding the Epstein files. Drawing on insights from Dr. Grande at [30:45], Stone explores how Trump's handling of the scandal has inadvertently fueled unfounded theories, potentially alienating rational constituents while emboldening die-hard conspiracists:
Dr. Grande [30:45]: "There is no such thing as a satisfied conspiracy theorist... They will never forgive Trump for failing to release them."
Dr. Grande further explains the lifecycle of conspiracy theories, emphasizing that once a seed is planted, it perpetuates indefinitely, regardless of evidence or governmental transparency.
Stone highlights emerging fractures within Trump's support base, particularly among MAGA influencers who are beginning to distance themselves from Trump due to the Epstein files controversy. Referencing a tumultuous Truth Social post at [23:33], she notes the growing disillusionment among staunch supporters:
Sacha Stone [23:33]: "There is a real fracture in the President's base and some of his most ardent supporters."
Influencers like Benny Johnson have publicly criticized Trump, indicating a significant shift in the internal dynamics of the MAGA movement. This internal strife is portrayed as a strategic victory for Democrats, who can leverage these divisions to weaken Trump's political influence.
Stone offers a historical perspective, comparing the current Epstein scandal's impact to past political sexual scandals, such as Bill Clinton's affair with Monica Lewinsky. She argues that while Democrats historically tolerated such misconduct for political gain, the Epstein files now pose a more existential threat to their coalition:
Sacha Stone [29:16]: "The left used to be the side that didn't care about married men cavorting on an island with barely legal sex workers... But the Epstein case... might be what the Democrats hope for."
Stone underscores the depth of the Epstein scandal's potential to fracture Democratic alliances, drawing a stark contrast to previous scandals that, while damaging, did not threaten the party's core cohesion.
In concluding the episode, Stone posits that the Epstein files represent a pivotal moment in American politics, with the potential to redefine power structures and influence upcoming elections. She warns that as the left continues to exploit the scandal, the long-term implications could be severe, leading to the "rise and fall of a once mighty empire." Stone calls for listeners to remain vigilant and true to their beliefs amidst the ongoing political turmoil:
Sacha Stone [36:20]: "No, this is only the beginning and everyone knows it. The left knows it most of all."
The episode wraps up with a reflective commentary on how deeply entrenched conspiracy theories and political opportunism could reshape the future landscape, leaving listeners with a poignant reminder to "thine own self be true."
