Brooke
The following podcast is a Dear Media production.
Danielle
Are you serious?
Brooke
Can we talk about your new glasses?
Danielle
I'm the star couple and we wear the same glasses.
Brooke
She was like, oh my God, they
Danielle
ran a tight ship.
Brooke
And you manage. Thank God she doesn't know that that does to you.
Danielle
Hey guys, what's up? Welcome back to Gals on the Go podcast.
Brooke
It's Brooke and Danielle and I am so excited to be podcasting today.
Danielle
We're freshly back from both of our trips and we have so much to discuss.
Brooke
We have so much to discuss that there's no like, little like, catch up, like, no, no, no. We've got Brooke fresh from Japan, me fresh from Coachella, and there's just things that need to be discussed. I. I am so excited to hear about your trip. I have friends saying, like, is there going to be a gals in the Go Japan episode? Yes. Yes.
Danielle
I should have done Live from Japan Live. If we both went at the same time, we could have done.
Brooke
I know. I broadcasting again.
Danielle
Oh my gosh. I am honestly, in a weird way, I'm really glad that I went first because I like have like my notes and my warnings to give you. Like, I've already started to relay like, sister. Yes. I'm like, watch out.
Brooke
No, no, I mean, you already gave me a couple notes that I'm like noted because we were gonna do that or, you know, whatever it may be.
Danielle
Yeah. Little learnings. Yeah. Because I know you And I know, like, what you're gonna like and what you're not gonna like. No.
Brooke
Brooke would, like, send me a photo of their breakfast and I'd be like, ooh, okay. Good to know. Breakfast is different there. Yeah.
Danielle
Little. Some slight changes, but I had a fantastic time overall. How would you describe your coachell or a series?
Brooke
Empowering.
Danielle
Empowering.
Brooke
That's the first thing that came to mind. Wow. Okay.
Danielle
Barbie.
Brooke
Oh, yeah, Barbie. Be who you want to be. Barbie girl.
Danielle
Wow. That was a choice.
Brooke
It just came to me, you know, it was kind of a mixture of the Barbie mix with, like, the Justin Bieber of it all, which I cannot wait to talk about.
Danielle
Oh, of course. The Bieber Fever.
Brooke
Fever. Were you a Bieber girl growing up?
Danielle
I saw the movie, like, once. Like, I wasn't really. He was never my background.
Brooke
Like, who did you like?
Danielle
Like, no one. Like, no, I. I didn't really, like, have like, posters on my. Well, I wasn't allowed to have posters on my wall.
Brooke
Okay. Of course.
Danielle
They ran a tight ship.
Brooke
Yep.
Danielle
They were like, must be framed. And I was like, there's no framed photos of these. Yeah.
Brooke
Oh, it had to be framed, Daniel.
Danielle
Yeah, they were. Yeah. I can't just stick shit on the wall.
Brooke
Yeah, no, it's pretty crazy.
Danielle
I had a bulletin board, but that was my goals and my dreams. Of course.
Brooke
And it brought you here, so. Hey, hey, wait. So that is so. So you didn't have like a teenage.
Danielle
I'm sure anything. My like, teen crush, really. I wasn't really like a Twilight girl. I mean, I did like Hunger Games, like, in my later, like, you know, 13 year old. So I feel like Zac Efron.
Brooke
Like, I had a cardboard cutout.
Danielle
Yeah, of course. I was. I was a Nick kid. So I'm trying to think, like, who was like, Elodie. Yeah. Nickelodeon. Honestly, like, Drake Bell. I feel like for a little bit because I watched Drake and Josh growing up and I was like, Drake is so cute, you know, But I wasn't like a stand, like, put his picture on the wall. I was like, oh, my God. Like, you know, he was like the teen guy of.
Brooke
Yeah, no, that's.
Danielle
And then I'm trying to think the
Brooke
other networks, Disney Channel.
Danielle
I didn't have like, one that I like was like, yeah, my God. I feel like I felt that way about, like, guys at school, though. Like, I want to put a picture of you on my wallet.
Brooke
Yeah. You're like, I have high school crushes. But not like, you didn't have, like, the tiger Beat magazine. Like, no poster.
Danielle
No, I wasn't. I mean, we did that at, like, birthday parties. Bring it home. My mom would be like, no, no, no.
Brooke
This is actually something I didn't know about you.
Danielle
Yeah. You were allowed to do whatever you wanted on your walls.
Brooke
Oh, yeah. I painted my walls so many times, though. Like, we had to cut, because then you'd take the poster down and it's all ripped up. But more so. I didn't know. I didn't. I never thought about. Like, you didn't have, like, a. A celebrity crush growing up?
Danielle
Yeah, I guess I never really thought about that either. Cause I never had a screen name named after. I was like. It was always about me. Brookie Cookie. 04. I was like, it's. I'm. Hey, I'm the star. Like, everybody should have my picture on their wall.
Brooke
Like, no, that. That's pretty crazy.
Danielle
It's very.
Brooke
A username I still use to this day for a lot of things is Zanielle. And people are always like, why Zanielle? It's literally my couple's name was Zac Efron.
Danielle
Oh, because you were Zac Efron, too. I just thought you were Justin Bieber. Oh, yeah.
Brooke
I'm trying to think what came first, chicken or the egg? Yeah, you had a whole Zach or Justin. Well, first it was Jesse McCartney, and then. And then I want to say it was Zac Efron, because that would make sense with High School Musical. And then it was Justin Bieber.
Danielle
I. I definitely. Zac Efron. High School Musical.
Brooke
Yeah.
Danielle
Honestly, like, I wasn't a Jonas Brothers girl, but, like, Camp Rock era. I feel like I was, like, a Jonas Brothers girly, like, in that era, but I never had, like, one that I was like, if I don't marry this guy, I'm gonna lose my mind. Like.
Brooke
Yeah.
Danielle
You know, like, I feel like some girls, like, literally put their.
Brooke
Yeah. I loved Nick when he had diabetes. It was the whole. That, of course, everyone was affected.
Danielle
Wasn't there, like, a song?
Brooke
He did a song in, like, black and white.
Danielle
I forget. Oh, he's gonna die.
Brooke
I know.
Danielle
Yeah. All right. No, he's still living.
Brooke
Thank God.
Danielle
Yeah. No one told us what diabetes was.
Brooke
No, we didn't know.
Danielle
Yeah, it was like, he is diabetes. Yeah.
Brooke
Wow. Okay, so first of all, if you're not watching on video, Brooke is wearing some new glasses.
Danielle
I am. I.
Brooke
Can we talk about your new glasses?
Danielle
Where do I begin with the glasses? Obsession. You know, I noticed in Japan, honestly, I was looking at outfit inspo, like, on pinterest and stuff. And I noticed a big theme was that a lot of people were wearing glasses.
Brooke
Okay.
Danielle
And I don't know if these people wear glasses regularly, but I noticed that they were, like, thick frames or really interesting glasses. And I was like, I guess I'm doing glasses. Like, we're going glasses.
Brooke
Before you got there.
Danielle
Before I got there. So I had prepared. I wore glasses on a previous episode of the podcast. People were actually being really nice. They were like, they look good. So then you gassed me up too hard. And then I was like, oh, glasses are me. I am glasses. Like, yes.
Brooke
No, it is fun accessory.
Danielle
No, it's just. I just have 2020 vision. Like, I just do not need them. I don't need readers. I don't need any, like, blue light, though. Yeah. I get blue light. Blockers have them anyway. So then I just became obsessed with wearing this one. That one damn pair. That one pair of kits.
Brooke
Yeah, they're great. They have great glasses. I love them.
Danielle
I just think that they. They look great. They go with everything. There were a few times on the trip that Ben was like, maybe, hey, let's get the shot without the glass. Because, you know, and I was like, oh. And then I started realizing I was like, in 20 years, maybe in 10, maybe in 5, I'm gonna look back and be like, why did I wear those damn glasses in every photo on my Japan trip? I don't wear glasses. No.
Brooke
It's really funny once you start to think about, like, wow, every photo you.
Danielle
Yeah, every photo. And they kind of look like Ben's glasses. So I look like I'm copying him. And, you know, I hate that. So, like, not magic. I'm like. I'm like, we're a couple and we wear the same glasses. Yeah. Also, my voice is quite hoarse. I'm not sick. I just have lost it from screaming and just, you know, just general. Well, it's like it was already, like, going. And then I, you know, was like, oh, maybe don't talk today. I motor mouthed that day. Like, I was just, like, talking that day. So, you know, here we go.
Brooke
That means you're having fun, though. No, Brooke has been on vocal rest, you guys. She's drinking medicine bottle.
Danielle
Like, this is, like, throat coat.
Brooke
It's giving theater. For sure.
Danielle
It is giving theater. I saw that someone. I think it was treasure. Pay to, like, use, like, a throat spray. I need to try that. Like, performers, something. Oh, entertainers throat spray.
Brooke
Yeah, entertainers. Before you count us in our next live show.
Danielle
Yeah, we'll Be backstage prep. So anyways, going back to the glasses, I'm just all over the place. And then I decided I'm just going full send glasses. And then I just started picking up a bunch of pairs. Vintage. These are not vintage. I can get into the story, but I now I'm just a glasses girl. These are a little eclectic. These are, like, my funky pair. My first time wearing them. You could. Everyone knows it's my first time wearing them.
Brooke
Is it obvious?
Danielle
It's obvious.
Brooke
I really. What is on the side? I forget.
Danielle
You showed Gems.
Brooke
Gems. Uncut gems.
Danielle
Uncut gems. I'm turning to the side to show because I was like, I don't want to do a crazy earring, because I feel like they are the moment.
Brooke
They are your earring, in a way. They are Gentle Monster.
Danielle
They're from Gentle Monster.
Brooke
Yeah, they're so I see it on the side. That's very cool.
Danielle
Oh, it says it.
Brooke
I think.
Danielle
So everyone knows this is my first time wearing my gentle monster glasses. Yeah.
Brooke
Oh. So Japan begin. Like, tell.
Danielle
Like, where do I begin?
Brooke
Tell us, like, you know, the three cities you went, you know, all, like, the layout.
Danielle
And so I. Technically, it was four, because it was Tokyo, Hakone, Kyoto, and Osaka. Okay, now, the way that I would define the trip as a whole, like, if I had to. If I had to put two words on my trip. Yeah, I would say shrines, and I would say lines. Damn, we visited so many fucking shrines. I, I. They have a shrine for everything. They've. I mean, maybe that's how it. Like, when you. If you do the tour of America, you go to the monuments and you see everything. Maybe it is that way. But I just was like, oh, another shrine. Another shrine. Like, oh, we. We're seeing four shrines today.
Brooke
So, like, when you were planning the trip, did you.
Danielle
Did.
Brooke
Did the list say, like, shrine, or was it, like, all these different names?
Danielle
Oh, totally said it. No, it. It entirely said it. It said shrine. It's a temple. But I told, like, my travel agent, who was amazing, by the way, I want to do it as if, like, this is my big one. Like, you know, I want to do the country, right? Like, because, I mean, I think I'll be back after this. But, like, I was like, just, if it's something I should do, have me do it just in case.
Brooke
Pop it on.
Danielle
Pop it on. But it starts to get to the point that they all look very similar, and they're all very. I mean, they're, like, historical, and there's. There's so there's shrines and then there's temples. Like, I guess there's the difference of the, like, historical. And like, I did learn, but, like, Ben knew everything already. Like, they would say something and he'd be like, oh, yeah, built in 19, blah, blah. I was like, how do you know that? How do you know that? And he was like, you didn't pay attention in history. I was like, no, honestly, AP World. I did really bad.
Brooke
Like, yeah, I did really bad, honestly. And it's been years.
Danielle
Yeah. Yeah. It's been a minute.
Brooke
That's amazing.
Danielle
Yeah.
Brooke
My Ben's becoming a doctor.
Danielle
Yeah. No, and he explained he has, like, a history thing. Does Ryan have a history thing?
Brooke
Yeah. Like, US History, I would say.
Danielle
Got it.
Brooke
Like America. Yeah.
Danielle
Like government and all that. I mean, I get it. After the trip, I was like, I need to study up on my. Like, because, like, I remember learning some of. Yeah, but it's just like every story, it's like. And then we came in and we told them, if you're not going to trade with us, we're going to, like, destroy you. So then they started trading with us. Like, there's so many stories, I feel like, like this about other countries in America. And it's like when they said that, I was like, wow. And you got. They don't hate us. Like, I was surprised. Yeah, you guys came and.
Brooke
Anyways, I can't believe how many shrines you saw.
Danielle
So lots of shrines.
Brooke
Were they beautiful?
Danielle
Yes. They just started to all, like, blend into one, you know, like, it starts to get, like, I to distinct. I can go through my photos and, like, be like, oh, my gosh. These were like, you know, different beautif shrines. And we had, like, great tour guides that took us around to them. But, you know, the history is just that type of history. Like, I appreciated some. We went to, like, the great Buddha temple in Nara, which was the deer. The deer were.
Brooke
Yes, the deer. You encountered Brook petting animal or did you pet him or you just fed?
Danielle
I fed. They don't really take to pets. Okay. So basically, instead of like, squirrels or something, like, they have wild, like, deer. But the deer have, like, learned similar to, like, how pigeons know, like, when they're getting fed, like, they can get, like, close to you and stuff. They've adapted. They know that, like, human, like, you buy these crackers, and they know that the humans. So if you feed one, then a swarm of them, like, comes around.
Brooke
Those are big boys.
Danielle
Big boys.
Brooke
Not little squirrels running at your feet. Like, they're at your, like, hips Probably.
Danielle
Totally. But they're very cute. They are very friendly. I would feed, like, the one off ones. Like, we wouldn't feed, like, if they were in a pack. We, like, avoid the pack. Like, we were like, let's feed that baby over there. Like, you know, really sweet. But that was like the. That was like the great Buddha, like, a really big, important temple. And there. There were some that were, I feel like, more culturally significant than others, but some, you know, they're known for certain things.
Brooke
Right.
Danielle
But I had a problem where I kept. Like, I learned that some of them at 1point. 1. My tour guide was like. And, you know, it was burned down and rebuilt in, like, 1952. I was like, rebuilt? I was like, this isn't even the fucking original. Are you serious? And it probably.
Brooke
Like, how many times did that happen?
Danielle
Like, a lot.
Brooke
You're like, what?
Danielle
Because they're literally made of, like, sticks and paper. Like, they're, like, built from, like, you know, materials that they used to pray to the gods of thunder and wind so that it would storm so that
Brooke
it wouldn't catch on fire.
Danielle
Yes. Because there was fires and stuff. Yeah.
Brooke
Wow.
Danielle
Yes. How crazy is that?
Brooke
I could so see you being like, okay, well, today's tour, is this one real, or is this, like, the new one?
Danielle
No, literally, I was like, so one was. So then I got to a point on that. I was like, so when was this construct? You know? And then they'd be like, well, the original was built in, you know, 12th century, blah, blah, blah. But then they had to rebuild it after. But it was, like, always after something. So. I understand. Of course I understand.
Brooke
That's so you. To be like, I'll see right through that.
Danielle
It's the remake.
Brooke
It's the remake. I see. I didn't get the real one. No. But at what point were you like, okay, I'm done with the shines. Like, oh, which city? Like, how many cities in. I mean, it was the first one.
Danielle
No, I mean, like, there were. I feel like by the last day of every city, I was like. And that's where. Strap on, Tokyo. Like, thank you. Because basically the schedule was, like, we did a mix of, like, historical and, like, cultural things the first few days in the city, and then the last day was like, the, like, free day, shopping day.
Brooke
Love that you put in your work.
Danielle
I put in my. And I earned.
Brooke
Yes.
Danielle
I earned my. My trip. But there were, like, fun parts of every, like, tour day. Yeah. Like, then we're going, like, a fun lunch or, like, a cool experience. Or something like that.
Brooke
And you. And to clarify, it was just you, Ben, and then the tour guide, right?
MacKenzie
Yeah.
Brooke
No, super personal.
Danielle
Oh, and the driver. It was me.
Brooke
That's so cool.
Danielle
For best friends. Yeah. No, it was really. I mean, I cannot. Like, that was, like, the best way that I could have done it, because if I want. If we wanted to move through something quicker or slower, like. Yeah, it was kind of like on our time when I had my real. Like, I'm done. Was day 13. That was. Yeah, that was in Osaka when I really was. You know, we were gone for so long, and I really have never had this feeling ever. But I. We were on the tour, and I just had a moment where I literally was like, no, I'm not walking any further. I'm not going in. I don't want to go in. I found out that it was a rebuilt castle, so it was a remake. It looked like it was a tall climb up, and I was just like, no, you know what? No, I just didn't want to go.
Brooke
And it was just you, Ben, and the tour guide. Yeah.
Danielle
And then they looked at each other. They were like, okay. And I was like, but you guys should go. And then they're like, no, no, we'll wait. I was like, no, literally go. I just don't want to go. I don't know. I just remembered that I have free will, and I was like, I just don't want to go. Like, I don't know. I. I've seen. It's beautiful.
Brooke
Yep.
Danielle
I'll be. I have to go to the bathroom. I'll be here.
Brooke
Like, you know, I'm good to go.
Danielle
Yeah, I'm good to go. And then I had a moment. Like, then we went back to the hotel room, and I, I, I just randomly started crying, and I was just. I just miss home. I don't know what happened. It came over me. It was the end of the trip. Like, I am, like, it makes. Traveling is so amazing because you, like, learn the difference of cultures, but then it makes you appreciate your own culture.
Brooke
Yeah, absolutely. The way to put it, 100%. I mean, when you told me you were doing two weeks, just knowing you, I was like, wow.
Danielle
Yeah. But they say you have to, like,
Brooke
you have to, like.
Danielle
I feel like I could have done, like, 10 or 11 days because that was kind of like. It was like those few extra at the end that I was like, ugh. Like, it's a little. And so much happened while I was away. Can we talk about that? Literally, day two of the Trip. We got, like, such big, like, personal news.
Brooke
I was like, are you kidding me?
Danielle
No, I'm. I'm literally. I was like, wouldn't be nice to make a phone call. But, like, I wasn't paying for the data. Like, I don't know.
Brooke
Oh, yeah, you didn't do data. You had a little WI fi box.
Danielle
Yeah, I had a little wifi box.
Brooke
Are you glad you did that or do you wish you, like, bought service?
Danielle
The last few days of the trip, I ended up buying service because there was, like, one place where the WI FI box didn't have service. And I just, like, was like, yeah, that was my breaking point. So it was like, I'm. I'm done now. But it was cool. It was called Sakura Mobile. If any of you guys are traveling to Japan, they literally also. The service in Japan, like, they say that they're going to drop something off at your hotel and they actually do it. I feel like that's the difference between here and there.
Brooke
What do you mean?
Danielle
Like, Ben ordered glasses. Speaking of glasses, he ordered a pair of glasses and they were like, okay, it's going to arrive in five days. Like, what hotel will you be at in five days? And they shipped it to the hotel and it actually arrived.
Brooke
Yeah, that was scary. I'd be like, yes, to be there.
Danielle
And I feel like they. They stick to their word. Like, I feel like here, like, sometimes you're like, I'm not sure if I'll get it. The WI FI box was like. They were like, it will be there when you check in. And I was like, okay, let's see if it's actually.
Brooke
No way.
Danielle
It was. It was pretty cool package for you. I was like, this is. I feel like they're very, like, service. Yeah. And I just went into, like, all the negatives, but Japan was. I mean, it's beautiful. It's amazing. It is everything that I thought it would be.
Brooke
How was the matcha?
Danielle
Matcha was amazing. We did a tea ceremony where we dressed in kimonos, which was very. I knew, once again, knew I was doing all this. It was on the itinerary, like, fully knew I was doing it. But when I put it into context of the day, I didn't. I guess I didn't really realize that, like, I'd be walking around in the kimono legit all day, like, from 10 to, like, five, you know. So I hit my breaking point with that, too. God, the tour guys probably were like, fuck you. Like this girl.
Brooke
Well, no, I wouldn't have thought, because Katie And I were looking into doing something like that, and we didn't end up deciding to do it. But they don't make it sound like. And then you're in it for the rest of your day. They just made it sound like, you know.
Danielle
Experience.
Brooke
Yeah, the experience. And then you take it off after an hour.
Danielle
Yes, like that. That's kind of what I thought. I guess I didn't really think about it too deeply or I was like, whatever. I mean, it was beautiful. And I got, like, such cool photos. And it was actually really, really cool because, like, they. You pick out all. Yeah. Can I talk about. Please.
Brooke
It's springtime, Brooke, and I'm trying to run errands, and I'm trying to look cute while I'm running my errands.
Danielle
I'm trying to run.
Brooke
Oh, you're a runner.
Danielle
She's a runner.
Brooke
She's a track star.
Danielle
No, but if I'm running errands or if I'm like, actually running, like, I. I still in athleisure, like, that's me, so 100%.
Brooke
And that's why we love FP movement, you guys. I mean, I feel like it's like, very apparent if someone's wearing FP movement. They've got those vibrant colors, the silhouettes, like, obviously. We love those shorts so much.
Danielle
So cute. They've got one pieces. They've got like, little workout dresses. I just got like a three piece little set. It's. They did like a curated tennis collection.
Brooke
Love.
Danielle
Yeah. So it's like we've got like the sports bra, the top, and like a cute little skirt. Like, just everything is so, like, feminine.
Brooke
So feminine. That's a good way to put it. Like, we both, I think, have the, like the square neck tank. It's such a thick material. Oh, I feel like a million bucks wearing it.
Danielle
Truly. And like, it's like, thoughtful, like. Yeah, things will have a pocket in the place that you're like. Yeah, it should have a pocket.
Brooke
That's where I need a pocket to put your cash. So it's like, great for working out. But then also they have that amazing, like, post workout look too. You know, we've got the sets, the, like, you said the one pieces. Like, I just love FP movement. I love going into the stores. I feel like we've gone in together a few times. These are great.
Danielle
Totally. I honestly, like, will wear it like post workout into, like, you know, somewhat of the afternoon, because I feel like they have sweat wicking fabric, so I'm not like, just sitting there. Like, soaking in my sweat. No, truly, I. I did this the other day at the wedding I was at. I went for a run and then afterwards I was, you know, in the clothes kind of, like, all day. Cause we were, like, out and about, like, being outdoorsy and stuff, and I look cute, so.
Brooke
And that's. That's the best. So if you guys want to check out FP Movement, we absolutely love it. You can visit www.freepeople.com gals to shop their full line of activewear and workout gear.
Danielle
I feel like we're patient. We're patient. I'm okay with doing something now and knowing that I'm gonna see the results in six months. You know, like, I'm like, that's. I feel like this is a time of, like, investing in ourselves. And I feel like with your hair, like, that is like the major theme. I feel like with our friends with. Suddenly everything's coming up hair.
Brooke
Yeah, I know. It's a big topic of conversation. Like, is that your real hair? Is that extensions? Oh, do you take neutrophil? Like, it's the whole thing.
Danielle
Yeah. How did you grow your hair? Like, you see someone with like a thick head of hair, you're like, how'd you do it? Like, it's always neutrophil.
Brooke
Yeah, no, it's. It's always like, everyone I know right now is on Nutrafol. I feel like right now totally.
Danielle
Nutrafol is the number one dermatologist recommended hair growth supplement brand, and it's the number one growth supplement brand personally used by dermatologists.
Brooke
Nutrafol's hair growth supplements are peer reviewed, NSF certified for sport and clinically tested. So. And it's also not like this one size fits all approach, which we really like. They have different formulas they have for men, they have for women, tailored to different life stages too. So if you're postpartum or your menopause, it's really so cool. And also if you have, like, lifestyle factors like being plant based, you really get that support that's perfect for you.
Danielle
And it's so easy to add it to your daily routine because you could order it online. You don't need a prescription. You can sign up for automated deliveries and keep you on track. And with a Nutrafol subscription, you can save up to 20% and get added perks to support your hair health journey.
Brooke
Yeah, I really like how they have those automated deliveries. Like, it just shows up, boom.
Danielle

Brooke
I'm loving Spring. I remember one time you told me you, like, love the month of April. And like, I get it.
Danielle
What's my birthday?
Brooke
Yeah. No, but like, spring refresh.
Danielle
It has that energy where it's like, it's kind of like Tuesday energy where, like, you feel something good is coming.
Brooke
Yeah.
Danielle
Like, because it's not money. Like, it's just good.
Brooke
Yeah. Stuff is on the way. And this year we're going to be shopping at Ross where spring trends are literally everywhere. Like, they've got it all. If you want home decor, if you want something. Like right now I feel like I've really let my apartment go and I'm like, I need to go somewhere and just refresh things a bit.
Danielle
Yeah. But I don't want to, like, break them. Like, when I want to give my apartment a refresh, I'm like, I already have, like, the big things.
Brooke
Right, right.
Danielle
I just want to, like, spruce it up a little bit. I want to save. I want to save. And Ross has more of the brands that we love at 20 to 60% off of other retailers prices. Who? I mean, I like, I like getting the same thing, just less money.
Brooke
Cut me a deal. Yeah, they really have some great things. Like, we've been talking about outdoor entertainment. They have some on trend, outdoor entertaining essentials. So they've got, like, place settings if you want to have like a little outdoor meal. If you want to propose to someone.
Danielle
Yes, perfect.
Brooke
Perfect. You could put the decorative pillows out. But also if you're like, I need a cute dress for my friends, you know, brunch or whatever, they literally have everything. Like, Brooke and I always talk about how much we love running errands, getting the coffee. You can go to Ross. Like, it's kind of this perfect situation and a little bit of everything.
Danielle
At Ross, you don't just shop. You work your magic. Find your nearest ross@rossstores.com. i have a lot of weddings going on right now and I, like, don't want to wear the same dress to everything. But I also, like, I. I want to wear things that are, like, still, like, relevant. Like, I'm not. I don't want to, like, go back through my closet. Like, I want to, you know, where we're fine and matching the occasion. These dress coats are getting out of control.
Brooke
I saw something the other day, island formal. I'm like, oh, my God, we've got it all right now.
Danielle
Well, I'm running to Nuuly for any of those specific looks that I need that I want to like, maybe wear once and send back and recycle. Nuuly actually has the best stuff. I feel like I'll be at a wedding and I'll compliment someone's dress. Like, thanks, it's Nuuly. Everyone's doing Nuuly.
Brooke
Everyone's doing Nuuly. It's so nice. And especially like, like, for example, it's still like, there's random chilly days in New York and I'm loving the funnel neck jacket trend, but I don't want to buy one because I'm like, it's about to be hot. Nuuly. I can just rent one for those chilly days.
Danielle
Nuuly is a subscription clothing rental service that lets you pick six styles every month for just $98 a month. You get your choice of any six styles. They have truly hundreds of brands and like, very, very premium brands. Like, we've got barber for that. Nice jacket. Yes. Jaded London lioness mother Hill house, free people and so much more.
Brooke
Them having hill perfect if you have like a coastal grand trip coming up. Obviously Jaded London's perfect for like, festivals. They also have inclusive sizing with options for plus petite, tall and maternity and fast and free shipping returns. Plus professional dry cleaning and laundry. Like, hello, that's it.
Danielle
That's for me. Like, I, I want someone else to do it. Like, I want to wear it and send it out and go, yes. And you have the option to buy what you love at a really great discount. So I've done that a few times. So, you know, I'm like, I. These jeans need to be mine.
Brooke
Yeah. Like, suddenly I need them on my body. And there's no late fees, no damage fees. It's pretty. Nuuly is a great value at $98 a month for any six styles. But right now you can get $28 off your first month. When you sign up with the code gals, just go to n u u l y.com and enter the code gals that sign up to get $28 off your first month. Danielle
So I was having a lot of like, body dysmorphia when I'm there. Because I'm. I'm American, I'm tall. Everybody's very short. They're very little. You know, when I'm trying on clothes, I'm like the biggest size. Like, I. It is. It. People told me that it was that way, and it really is that way. Like, yeah, when you hold up like an article of clothing to yourself, you're like, is this made for a child? Yeah. Like, no. I felt like a big fat American walking through the streets. Like, I was like, boom. You're like, here's the American crying.
Brooke
Yeah.
Danielle
When we were trying on our kimonos, they. You had to pick out like various pieces of it. The number one is like, I guess like the main, like, you know, big. I don't. I don't know the exact words and I don't want to botch it, but like. Yeah, but there were so many, like, pieces. I was wearing six layers. They put a whole towel in my back. I'm not even kidding. No, I was layered up. Loaded in there. Yes, layered up. But it was time to pick them out. And we were being guided around the store and she's like, oh, you're like, you know, she was like, okay. So then she guides me into like one section of the store. Cause I guess I couldn't fit into the regular section.
Brooke
Oh my gosh.
Danielle
So the other section of the store, there's two racks. There's T tall and W wide. And thankfully she pointed me. She said, we're gonna go over here. Thankfully, she brought me in the direction of tall because if she brought me to the wide rack, I just.
Brooke
I think we all did.
Danielle
I think I would have lost my mind. I was like, that's something. Like, I don't even need to see it. Like, you know, that should be the
Brooke
tall and wide section. That's where Brooke goes.
Danielle
She's like, you are tall. I was like, yes, I am.
Brooke
Yes.
Danielle
Not wide.
Brooke
Yes, I am tall. And they did your hair.
Danielle
They did my hair.
Brooke
You got a little bag.
Danielle
Yes, I. Oh, and I was wearing like the. The shoes around until I changed into sneakers. But then I looked even more like an idiot cuz I'm wearing the kimono with my low off sneakers.
Brooke
Like, oh, right. You know what? I. I'm sure you're noticing that a lot of people are going to Japan right now.
Danielle
Yeah.
Brooke
Because this is like the popular time. Do you follow Aubrey Gavello? Whatever. Do you see that they did that, but they didn't dress up.
Danielle
Up.
Brooke
They did the tea ceremony, but they didn't dress up.
Danielle
No, no. Not everybody dresses up. It's not. To be clear.
Brooke
Special person.
Danielle
Yeah, yeah. You have to be chosen. I was selected to look like the American clown. No, we kept. That was my favorite stim of the trip. My vocal stim was local clown. Because I, I did feel like. You just didn't feel like you're like. I was like, oh. Like, you know, she's like the local clown. Like, you know, like if I like asked stupid question or like did something, you know, out of line. Because it's a very orderly society in the sense that like they do things that just make sense. They don't push and shove when they get on the train. I love that the trains run on time. They are, from what I saw, seemingly very like quiet and respectful and they keep to themselves, which it's like an introverted society mostly. Like you don't really talk to strangers.
Brooke
Okay.
Danielle
Necessarily. You go get lunch and it's like you sit at like a solo seat most of the time.
Brooke
Whoa.
Danielle
Yeah, it's very interesting. Like in those ways, I guess it's different. So when the big fat Americans come through, like we do, we stand out.
Brooke
We make it.
Danielle
We stand out. Yeah.
Brooke
Make it happen.
Danielle
Yeah, we're there.
Brooke
You know, you saw us coming. Is it true that there's like really no trash cans?
Danielle
No trash cans in some of the. In Osaka maybe I saw one, but in Tokyo not. I did not see any. And the thing is they have a lot of single use plastics. They're really big into vending machines. Huge intervention machines.
Brooke
Oh yeah, I saw a lot of those.
Danielle
Yeah, you can get like, you know, fun drinks from them.
Brooke
Seems to be a spot a lot of people take photos. Like a good photo spot.
Danielle
It is, it is. And I would like go get a water bottle or something and. Yeah, like just. No, nothing. Another thing. They don't give you napkins the way we do napkins. Like, you know, I put the napkin, I mean I love a napkin. Put one on my lap. I put, you know, have one for my hands. They give you like a wet nap. And I'm not sure, like then I'm unclear. Do I use it before I eat or after I eat? Right.
Brooke
Is it to clean?
Danielle
Yeah, but it's typically, I think for before. But I noticed that pretty much everybody brings their own towel. What? They bring their own like little like handkerchief towel thing and then like that's they use as a napkin and then they put it right back in their bag. Yeah, no, you have to carry, like, a lot of shit on you.
Brooke
Like, I'm a messy eater, though, so I have to put, like, a saucy napkin back in my bag, you know, Or.
Danielle
Yeah.
Brooke
Or you have a section for it.
Danielle
No. And I would, like, go home now. I normally keep my trash in my purse anyways, so that wasn't too much of a change for me. Like, that's a habit that I have where I'll, like, you know, have scrap paper and just shove it in my bag. But, like, some people, you know, don't do that. But I would go home to the hotel at the end of the day and be like, so much. Yeah. But it's still so clean. I don't know how they've no trash cans, but it's so clean. It's mind blowing. Like, it just goes to show, once again, like, the respect that they have for, like, their public spaces. And like, I'm just like, America could never, like, in those ways.
Brooke
What was your favorite hotel you stayed at?
Danielle
Oh, I really liked the Tokyo one we stayed at, which was a really nice, like, start to the trip. It was the Okura Tokyo. And it was. It was lovely. I mean, it was gorgeous. We had, like, you know, like, a nice view. It was kind of like over by, like, the American embassy. So we had, like, a nice view of that. I don't know if that. America. Yeah. A little taste of home.
Brooke
A little taste of home. Did you ever have American food while you were there?
Danielle
Yeah. Yeah.
Brooke
Like cuisine, should I say?
Danielle
Of course we did switch it up. I don't really eat, like, too much fish. We did a lot of ramen, but it just gets to be a lot. If you're going bring. Even if you don't have stuff, stomach problems or anything, just bring fiber, bring benefit. Bring something to keep it.
Brooke
Yeah.
Danielle
Because you eat just like, a lot of, like, carbs, I feel like.
Brooke
Yeah. Is there, like, fruit around? Like, do people drink smoothies there? Like, did you see anything?
Danielle
7 11. Like, they have the smoothies. I didn't do end up doing that.
Brooke
Yeah. 7 11.
Danielle
That was so fun. No, the convenience stores are as good as they say. The food. I loved the food. I really did.
Brooke
Yeah.
Danielle
Amazing ramen. It just. It just got to be to a point where I was like, oh, noodles again, like, you know.
Brooke
No, for sure.
Danielle
So we mixed it up a little bit. They have really fantastic. And I actually am like, I love beef. Like, I tried the. What was the name of the Steak. The. Not the Wagyu. The. Why can't I think of it right now? Because it's from. Hold on. I have to find you the Kobe Kobe beef. That's what it was. Kobe. Kobe. Because that's like a city that we didn't go to, but it was. They bring in the beef from it. Yeah. That was like a expensive meal. That was Teppanyaki. Very different than our Teppanyaki.
Brooke
Not like Japanese steakhouse, Onion volcano.
Danielle
No, I was showing the guy like. I was like, do you want to see what it's like in America? I showed him like the like explosion as he's like gently turning the steak. He was like, wow, that's different.
Brooke
No, it makes you realize, like, we're so weird in America.
Danielle
We're so weird.
Brooke
We just. Everything's bigger in America. We just take things to the next level.
Danielle
It really is. No, we, we. We have like a show and like a song and a dance of everything and.
Brooke
Absolutely.
Danielle
Yeah. And like, you know, I like some, some parts of it.
Brooke
One thing you told me I thought was insane was that none of like the coffee matcha shops opened until like 10:00am yeah. That's crazy, huh?
Danielle
A Convenience stores were 24 hours. So I was like going to those at like 4:00am I was like, I guess I was jet lagged. Like it wasn't a problem because I was just going to bed early.
Brooke
Yeah.
Danielle
But I would be like up at 4am I'd be like, I guess I'll go to the 711 across the street. And it's safe. It's really safe to like walk around by yourself. I never felt unsafe.
Brooke
Coffee.
Danielle
I mean, they have coffee there. But like, I just was like, I'm up.
Brooke
Like, yeah, I'm up.
Danielle
I'm up. Like that's the only place open if you want anything. Like you. They have, you know, snacks and things. I mean, I wasn't like getting like usually a sandwich that early. I would wait for the breakfast. The hotel breakfasts are awesome. I'm trying to think what else. Vintage shopping was amazing. You're gonna love it.
Brooke
I cannot wait.
Danielle
Yeah.
Brooke
You're wearing your new. Did you post it?
Danielle
It's in my vlog, which should be up at this point. My big purchase of the trip was watch. Yes. I had my watch consultant, my brother on the line.
Brooke
Of course I would like go into
Danielle
a store and be like, okay, give me the specs. And then I'd be like, I have to review this with my partner.
Brooke
My partner. Business partner. My. No, boys are really into watches.
Danielle
Yeah.
Brooke
Even the other day we were your apartment, all the guys were like holding your watch.
Danielle
Yeah. They're like. And then I wasn't sure, like, can I see your watch? And I like, showed them my wrist.
Brooke
No, no.
Danielle
Like, can I see? Take it off? Oh, oh, sure. Of course. It's like, yeah, I was like, sure, everybody can try on this watch. No, it's, it's so lovely because they keep everything in really pristine condition. I think it's illegal to sell counterfeit goods. So they, so everything is like, you just know that you're buying, like, authenticated thing. You're gonna really like the vintage shopping. I recommend going in with a loose plan because it can get overwhelming of
Brooke
like something like, like a black bag or like. Okay.
Danielle
Because it can be like, there's just like a lot. And I feel like for me, like, I, I, the merchandising can kind of like stress me out. But like, you go in with a plan, you know, Lines. I want to talk about the lines because, yeah, you know, I said that I'm getting more patient recently.
Brooke
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Danielle
I'm getting more patient because, you know, I'm used to like, I'll wait in a small line. Yeah, Here.
Brooke
Very patient. Where was that that you decided to tell me you were patient on the podcast?
Danielle
I told you because we were talking about Disney or something and I was like, you know, I waited in the line. I was paid, like, I think I said something like that.
Brooke
Yeah, it was. Yeah. I can't remember.
Danielle
But yeah, yes, the lines, they are at least in Tokyo because I think it's the busy season. I don't know if it's always like this. You guys can tell me. Me, they're insane. I waited in an hour long line to eventually then get like, served matcha. Like, and then I had to like, wait for the matcha to be made, which is an additional five minutes. Like, yeah, no, it was testing me. It was testing me. But then again, you can go down the road and wait a 30 minute line for the one that you didn't want. So, like, I was like, I'm just, There's different lines at this point. Like, yeah, so many lines and no one's complaining. That's the thing. Everybody just waits in line.
Brooke
Just like, we're here.
Danielle
I'm, you know, I'm doing like loop de loops. I'm pacing. I'm like jumping up and down, like, moving. Yeah. I'm like, let's go. Like, come on, move faster.
Brooke
Know your order?
Danielle
Yeah, I. And they Just don't care. Like they're just like, it is what it is. And I.
Brooke
It's amazing.
Danielle
It's because they just are organized.
Brooke
Yeah.
Danielle
Don't care about that. Which is really interesting. Like you wait in a line to like go into the ramen shop. Basically because they're like small. A lot of the places are smaller. So I guess that makes sense too. They do not want to overwhelm the back. Like in America. They're like overwhelmed. The kitchen for them. They're like, no, like you're on our time, you know.
Brooke
Really nice.
Danielle
No, it's really nice.
Brooke
Wait, and then tell them about the ramen. Once you got into the ramen, you did tell me this, that how long like you had to be quick. Oh, it was ramen.
Danielle
Oh, the like the time limits and stuff. Eating. There was no. There was one place that we were on, it was in Harajuku, which is in Tokyo. And it's a really busy like shopping street. There's a lot of like cafes and things off of it. There's no cars. It's like a super touristy street. And we got like street food. We were getting a lot street food, like a lot of mochi and things like that.
Brooke
That's fun.
Danielle
And it was like these cheese filled dough things. That's the best way I can describe it. Yeah. Went in, paid for it, you know, go outside. I take a picture with it, I start to eat it and then they come outside and they were like, like, excuse me. And then they like tapped on the outside of the store and it said max time here. 40 seconds.
Brooke
40.
Danielle
You are only allowed to stand there and eat it for 40 seconds. Otherwise you had to keep it moving. But you're also. They don't really eat on the go. There's no eating like, you know, you
Brooke
have to eat it quickly there.
Danielle
Yeah, they do. They. You do not. Yeah. So I guess that's eating quick. I hate that. I'm like, I don't want to be rushed when I meeting.
Brooke
I hate. Yeah, no. You want to take a picture of me?
Danielle
No, I was like, I just filmed my.
Brooke
Yeah, I was filming a tik Tok. You're welcome video.
Danielle
Yeah.
Brooke
That is crazy. Excuse me. Yes.
Danielle
Excuse me. I was like, oh my God, is this enforced? I thought like I didn't even. Keep it moving. Keep it moving.
Brooke
Oh my God.
Danielle
Yeah. No, but it was a really busy street to be fair. And at one point and we went to Tokyo station which is. I don't even know if it's like their penn Station or their Grand Central. Because it's like on crack. Like, at one point I was getting so overwhelmed because you just look in every direction. Like, it was like a. You know, there was like directions everywhere. We were in the middle. So many people beyond the eye can see all in suits. And it just like, the amount of people walking with purpose, like, actually overwhelmed me. I was like, where?
Brooke
And you live in New York.
Danielle
I can't. No, no, no. It's. No, I'm telling you, you've been to New York. You're like, that's a crazy city. Try Tokyo. Try.
Brooke
Wow. And everyone's just like, are people on their phones when they're walking?
Danielle
Yeah.
Brooke
So same as New York.
Danielle
It's very. Like, people are on their phone. Yeah, yeah. But they're moving with purpose.
Brooke
Yeah. They know how to walk with their phone.
Danielle
And we're like, is it the M line? Yeah.
Brooke
Excuse me.
Danielle
Yeah. But it was very, very great.
Brooke
Such a different culture.
Danielle
So. So different. And highly suggest you. I mean, you're gonna have a great time. What else was I gonna say? I literally wrote on the trip. I feel like three years have passed and I'm still on this trip. Dear diary, it's day 14 now.
Brooke
No, I mean, I'm sure. Yeah. You're going to so many different cities and hotels and. Yeah. Are you happy with, like, the outfits you packed and like, the clothing?
Danielle
Very much so. I did run out towards the end, but I'm glad I didn't, like, overdo it. Yeah. The skirts, I was fine with redoing, but, like, my shirts, I was like, I kinda.
Brooke
Yeah.
Danielle
Then did laundry at one point. I was like, I am not doing laundry. Like, I am on vacation, damn it. I'm not doing laundry.
Brooke
Cute.
Danielle
That he did. Yeah. Yeah. It was very sweet. Sweet. But I would recommend packing. They said layers and then also just like, basics. There were outfits that I did not plan on wearing together. But like, I was like, eh, it works. So whatever.
Brooke
Whatever.
Danielle
Yeah. We did end up going to an Italian restaurant there, which was really interesting because we wanted to break up the food, you know, whatever. Then the concierge person at the hotel actually was like, it's like, you know, multiple locations. Italian. I was like, sounds perfect.
Brooke
A chain. Count us in.
Danielle
Do you know Olive Garden? Yeah.
Brooke
So similar.
Danielle
No. So she sends us there and we order. So we sit down, we order our food. A lot of the times it was ordering, unfortunately, like via pointing or Google Translate was my best friend. Because you can scan the menu and it, like, translates it or like, honestly, A lot of the times I would, like, write something and, like, show it, because I feel like that's probably the best way to do it. So we ordered a pizza.
Brooke
Okay.
Danielle
Now, it's not a thick crust. It was like a thin. We saw other people getting it. Thin pizza, a pasta. And then I did an order of steak. So for Ben and I, that's what I. That's what we ordered. Drinking water, you know, whatever we put in the order. She comes back, like, two minutes later with, like, a message written on her phone for us on Google Translate. She's like, oh. And she hands it. She goes. The message said, this order is a lot for two people. Can you manage it?
Brooke
Can you manage it? Can you manage?
Danielle
Yeah. And we looked at each other like, yes, yes, we will be okay.
Brooke
Can you.
Danielle
Can you manage it? Can you manage it? I know she was. I was like, yeah.
Brooke
And I'm thinking if I was there with Ryan, he'd be like, we need one more thing.
Danielle
Oh, you would.
Brooke
That's a light load.
Danielle
I couldn't agree more. Like, I was not, like, so full. Like, I definitely got ice cream after that. Like, I. Yeah.
Brooke
That also has happened to you guys before. Once in the US I remember you went to, like, Bad Roman or one of those, and. Or. No, no, no, it wasn't Bad Roman. Sorry. It was another place.
Danielle
Yeah. And they were like, oh, it was. We got the. All the types of bread.
Brooke
Yeah.
Danielle
And she was like, you got four types of bread? And we're like, yeah, correct. We know.
Brooke
We know you're famous for them. Like, we want to.
Danielle
Yeah, no, we know what we ordered. Can you. Can you manage it? And it was all managed, actually. The steak was not finished just simply because I didn't like it. But everything else was beyond finished and finished quickly, I would say. Did you.
Brooke
Did she say anything about it?
Danielle
No, no, no.
Brooke
She. She was proven wrong.
Danielle
I mean, I guess it was nice that she was watching out for us. She was like, I don't want. I mean, two big Americans come through. Like, yeah, we can manage it. She'll never ask that question again because she's like, I saw them finish those places.
Brooke
I saw two Americans finish three things. Yes. Crazy.
Danielle
She told people about it all night. Probably just like, those two big Americans came all.
Brooke
And wide.
Danielle
Tall and wide section. That's really, really funny. Okay, my last thing that I will say about this is about the trip, because I just have. Well, I have. I mean, a bun of a bun. I'm a little. Not okay. A bunch of little stories. Well, number one, they're eating fish at 7am so I'm worried about you with breakfast.
Brooke
I'm really worried about me too. Like even at the hotel there it's
Danielle
more of like a continental spread, but it's still. It's not, not all of them have like an omelette station, you know, eggs. They have, they have like eggs. They have like a hard boiled. Like some of them have more than others. But yeah. And just not. They're just not that big into breakfast in general. Right.
Brooke
Whereas you know, we, we got Cracker Barrel. Like we love that like country like breakfast moment.
Danielle
They have pancakes. The pancake place opens at 11.
Brooke
What?
Danielle
Yeah.
Brooke
That's so interesting. So. Yeah, they just don't value breakfast the way they do.
Danielle
Yeah. So you're just gonna have to be brave. And I know you don't like lunch food for breakfast, but.
Brooke
But nope, I don't.
Danielle
You'll. You'll. You'll manage it.
Brooke
I'll manage. Can they. Coffee machine. Can you. Did they have coffee machines in like your hotel rooms or is it not like that there?
Danielle
They. I do believe that they did if
Brooke
I needed a quick hit.
Danielle
Yeah.
Brooke
Sugar.
Danielle
I, I didn't cuz I was the convenience store and well they have coffee machines there and I like that better. So I was like.
Brooke
Yeah, you're not one to like utilize hotel coffee machines.
Danielle
I like read something.
Brooke
I know what you read. I saw it too. I. That's like not real. I mean I'm sure it was real. That one.
Danielle
Yeah.
Brooke
Everyone's washing their underwear in the coffee machines. Like that was crazy.
Danielle
Anyways, sorry to interrupt and I'm not even like like that. I don't know, I just. No, that I need, I need my fixings for my coffee.
Brooke
Yeah. So I. Yeah, you got to load it up. You needed like a concoction.
Danielle
Yes, I do like the matcha. I'd be like, does it come sweet? And they were like, you want it sweet?
Brooke
Can you manage it?
Danielle
Can you?
Brooke
It's really funny. I'm going to start saying that. Can you manage our new vocal stim? For sure.
Danielle
Can you manage it? Okay, I'll say this. The story about the fortune.
Brooke
Oh yes, yes, yes, yes.
Danielle
So outside the temples and the shrines they have a lot of these things they've like. You can buy a lot of the times like some sort of like trinket and like write down like a wish or something you want to like dedicate it to and like hang it up there. And then they do this thing outside of a lot of them where it's like a fortune, and for 100 yen. And then no one's enforcing it. You just put. You put it in the box. You know, it's self. Because they're in this orderly society where they can trust people to actually do this.
Brooke
Yeah, true.
Danielle
Yes. And I saw it. I was like, fortunes. Oh, my God, I'm so. And like, so we walk over. The tour guide takes us. She said, yes. You shake this box, A number comes out, and then you check the number, put it back in the box, and then go over to the corresponding sheets of paper for the numbers. Whoa. Yes. Very orderly system. Makes sense. So I was like, okay, I'll do it. So I like. I shake it, get a number, go over. I was like, let's see what the fortune says. I get the English copy. Sorry. This is great. They have it ready to go for me. At the top, it says, bad fortune. Do not take the trip. Do not take the risk. Do not do that.
Brooke
Like, I'm on the trip.
Danielle
No, literally, I was like, oh, my God, I got a bad fortune. And then I was like, I didn't know that bad fortune was an option. Like, in America, we would not have bad. Like, if it was like, shake for a fortune. It wouldn't be like, half of them are bad.
Brooke
No, never.
Danielle
Yeah. So I wasn't thinking. Then my tour guide, she's like, no worries. No worries. You can tie it up on this wire and leave it behind, and it doesn't follow you.
Brooke
Perfect.
Danielle
You know, I was like, perfect. And she's like, and you could shake the box for a new one. I was like, oh, try again. Okay. Cause I would like to, you know, I want to see what it's like. So I shake it again, get a completely different number. Okay. Top bad fortune.
Brooke
No, same thing.
Danielle
Double bad fortune. And at this point, I lose my mind at this point.
Brooke
Were there tears then?
Danielle
Yeah. No. I literally, like. Like, I was. I did not handle it well. It was. At the end of the day, I was. It was raining, giving.
Brooke
End of the day, it rained a
Danielle
lot of the trip. I will say, too, which, like, you know, so by the end of the day, you know. You're wet.
Brooke
Yeah. You're like a wet dog.
Danielle
Where are we going? Home.
Brooke
Like, I need to get the hotel
Danielle
one more shrine, right?
Brooke
One. Just one more shrine.
Danielle
And it was just like, I. Oh, my God, I can't believe. And I tied it up. And to be honest, it ended up being, like, such a wonderful trip, and I was getting great news from home. So I just chalked it up to, like, the. That it was, you know, nonsense, but I.
Brooke
Nonsense by Supreme Court.
Danielle
Yes. Two bad fortunes in a row, and I didn't do any for the rest of the trip. Then, like, on other tours, other tour guides, like, oh, you. You can. I was like, no, thank you.
Brooke
I'm done. I've got two bad fortunes.
Danielle
No, literally, all set.
Brooke
All set.
Danielle
Anytime there's anything, like, it was like, you can do this. And, like, I was like, no, I'm
Brooke
gonna keep it right there.
Danielle
I'm just gonna walk the line throughout, you know, not stray, not do anything.
Brooke
Oh, I wish I saw all this.
Danielle
So, yeah, wonderful trip. I told Danielle I'll. I'll share with you guys if you guys are going. Tokyo is definitely the most, like, busy, chaotic city. The other cities. If you are going to other cities, I would recommend shopping, like, if you are going to, like, Uniqlo and, like, yeah. Don Quixote. Yes. So that's, like, their big discount store.
Brooke
Ooh.
Danielle
That's, like, where I got a lot of souvenirs, like, fun little Kit Kats, a lot of. Yeah. Like. But then also, like, pens and, like, random things like that. It was very. We were very overwhelmed. Shopping the donkey. One time they called Donkey.
Brooke
The donkey.
Danielle
The donkey. Yes. The local. Like, I was, you know, shopping at the Donkey, and, like, you know, I guess we looked lost because she's like, can I help you guys? Also, it's so funny, they just started speaking media English. So I'm like, what gave it away?
Brooke
What gave it away?
Danielle
Like, was it the size tall and
Brooke
wide, or what got you?
Danielle
And she was like, can I help you? We're like, no, we're. We don't. Like, we're just looking, you know, whatever. She. And then she looks at me and she's like, I. I guess this wasn't, like, the beauty section. But, like, you know, she. She looks at me and she's like, you. I have something. Like, she's like, for your. Your under eyes and your pores. And she's like, no, you're very beautiful. Very beautiful. But, you know, I have something. And she, like, walks me over.
Brooke
She doesn't know that that does to you.
Danielle
And I bought it.
Brooke
Oh.
Danielle
I bought it because. Because she got me. And I was like, you know what? It may. I mean, she did slide in the, like, your beautiful butt. But, like, then, you know, I'm thinking I'm like, my pores. Then I'm like, leaving my Ben. Do you see my pores right now?
Brooke
Like, I never like, notice pores.
Danielle
Me neither.
Brooke
I feel like that's so 10 years ago. I'm not even kidding. Like, pores were such a thing.
Danielle
But maybe in, like, beauty standards, that's like, something that they maybe care about versus us. Like. But I feel like dark circles is, like, universal. That's like, I feel like a thing, you know, everyone's getting a bluff. Like, yeah, we're all out here getting bluffs, so. But she had me buy these two things. It didn't say the price, so I, like, found out when I checked out. It's a discount store. I mean, everything was cheap, but the two things combined were 1. 25 US dollars. I was like, she got me good.
Brooke
She got you.
Danielle
She did tell me, though. She was like, take, take before, pictures and see after. So I haven't started yet, but.
Brooke
All right, Miss girl. Let's see what she's got.
Danielle
I know. I was like, this is a little bottle of moisturizer. Yeah.
Brooke
I mean, I'm excited to hear about it.
Danielle
Yeah. Yeah.
Brooke
I feel like may. If she's saying that, then maybe she really meant it.
Danielle
I think she had to hit her quota, you know? And she knew.
Brooke
She's like, yeah, that Shrine is. Is a remake. She's trying to hit her quota. She's seeing. Right.
Danielle
She's sussing everything out. No, but she got me in a vulnerable moment. Like, I was already overwhelmed, and I was like, oh, and my pores are big too, you know? Yeah, she got me when I was weak. That's okay, though. Overall, great trip. Love Japan. Love home. It really made me. I was coming home and I was like, I'm about to have an American flag on my. Like, running around with it on my back, like, as if it's a cape. Like, I'm Captain America. Like, bring her home.
Brooke
Oh, I. No, that's how I feel if I go to even Europe. So I can't even imagine, like. And it's a beautiful thing. I mean, that's. If you go on any trip, it's like, okay, now I'm ready to go to my apartment.
Danielle
Yes. Well, you know, I'm always ready, Brooks.
Brooke
Right, team, go.
Danielle
Oh, you are so happy. Like, we were in the airport going home.
Brooke
I was like, skipping.
Danielle
We're almost home.
Brooke
You're skipping down to tsa. Yes.
Danielle
I was like, we're here. No, it's good to be happy and return home. Home.
Brooke
It is good.
Danielle
I don't think I'll ever be on a two week trip. Like, I just don't know when I would do that like some people, we met a lot of people that were like on one trip into the next trip. Like one girl, she was like, oh, I'm like back. I. I just finished a backpacking trip and now I'm here. I'm like, that stresses me. I'm like, where's your home? Do you have.
Brooke
Where's your home?
Danielle
Where's the home base?
Brooke
Where's home?
Danielle
I was like, also, how do you just go from trip to trip to not have a job? I mean, I guess if you do social media or something.
Brooke
But yeah. Yeah.
Danielle
I mean, he.
Brooke
Yeah.
Danielle
Oh. I hated when they brought up the work stuff. I would always say, say. Because I knew it would impress people. Like about Ben, like whenever, like, you know, the tour guys would be like, well, he's a doctor, He's a doctor. You know, and they loved that. But then of course, then men would be like, yeah, but Brooksa and I would change the subject.
Brooke
I'd be like, anyways, yeah, true. I didn't even think about that, like having to explain what you do for work. They asked.
Danielle
No, it came. It came up and it was fine.
Brooke
You diverted.
Danielle
Yeah, I said it a few times.
Brooke
A couple times. When you're in the mood. Sometimes I'll say it if I'm in the mood.
Danielle
Just a subscriber came up in front of the tour guide once, which was so nice. They were so. I think listeners were so sweet.
Brooke
Shout out, you guys.
Danielle
He. He was like your friends. I was like, yes. Like, I just didn't feel like, like, yeah, just. And. And that was a vulnerable moment too. That was like the, the day 13 where it was like we were waiting in line. A line. If you see me waiting in line, just know you please say hi. But just know I'm not at my best. I'm. It's not my best and I could do better.
Brooke
Just know you find me again later once you got the thing that was in line. Yeah.
Danielle
Wow. I just yapped for literally like 50 minutes about Japan.
Brooke
I. I mean that you were there for a long time. There was lots. Yeah, very long.
Danielle
Very. I was, I know. Like, were you like telling people like, Brook's still away?
Brooke
Like, yeah, Brooks still in Japan.
Danielle
Believe it or not, she's still there.
Brooke
No, it was so fun waking up every day. Cuz the time zone was so different than like seeing your posts and the.
Danielle
You guys would work a whole day. Day.
Brooke
Oh, right. So it was like opposite.
Danielle
So I would be like. As I was like falling asleep, you guys were like, you know, getting up and it was like, morning, but then I would wake up at, like, let's just say because I was waking up early, like 5, 6am you'd wake up
Brooke
and it was the same day for me.
Danielle
I had already lived that day.
Brooke
Yeah. Yeah, right. That's what I mean. Like, you. Because you were getting up so early, we were actually able to talk a good bit there really only a few hours where we weren't. I know where you were asleep. I noticed. Because you woke up so early.
Danielle
Yeah, I was waking up, but I didn't find it to be a problem. That's.
Brooke
That's good.
Danielle
That's good. I would rather be that way, I think, than.
Brooke
Oh, my God, that's good.
Danielle
Like, not able to wake up.
Brooke
Yes, 100%. Cause you have all the tours.
Danielle
And I forced myself to correct to the jet lag on the way back. I did feel it a little bit, but I had a wedding this past weekend, so I, like, literally, I didn't really have a choice. Like, I forced my body to adjust.
Brooke
Yeah, you had no choice. You went to, like, talks away. You had things to do.
Danielle
We'll talk about that next week.
Brooke
Wow. Well, thank you for sharing. I think we all really enjoyed that.
Danielle
And I'm gonna try to post a version of my itinerary on the gals in the ghost Instagram, because a lot of people asked, you know, what day we did watch shrines. I know you guys are dying to know. No, there was other favorite shrine.
Brooke
We'll have to do a little note about that.
Danielle
There was other really cool things.
Brooke
Yeah.
Danielle
Yeah. Wow. Cool moments. So tell me about Coachella. Tell me about Barbie Chella.
Brooke
Barbie Chella.
Danielle
I want to know everything about it.
Brooke
I took notes too. So I went to Coachella with Barbie, which was so fun. And I feel like a lot of people were wondering, like, what, you know, are we promoting the dolls? I heard them talking about it on the toast. They were like, so, wait, what? And basically, basically, it's all about the idea of Barbie, which I thought was really cool about, like, being who you want to be. Yeah. The idea and the confidence that you get being a Barbie and how there's so many different Barbies. And it was. It was so fun. They did such a great job. And I was really lucky because they invited our dear friend Clara Purse as well. So we got to do the trip together, and we just had the best time. Like, when you go to a festival, you need to have a buddy. You have to establish a buddy. Like, I honestly, like, it's very important that you like, know something, because then it's like you're gonna go to the same sets together. Like, you're just, like, aligned on everything. And so that was really, really fun. It was awesome because Clara is such a pro tick tocker. So she would have transitions every day for us. She had unique idea. Like, we were just having so much fun with that. And obviously, as you guys know, I'm usually, like, a Stagecoach person, but if the lineup for Coachella is something I really want to see, like, I go. So for months. That's also one of the reasons I didn't go to Japan with Brooke and Ben was because I realized it was gonna be during Coachella, and I really wanted to see Justin Bieber. And thank go you guys. I am so touched. I am just so touched. It was amazing. But I have to talk about a couple things that I noticed at Coachella and just things that happened. Of course. Have you heard of sprouts?
Danielle
Sprouting Grocery store?
Brooke
Oh, no, no.
Danielle
Yeah. It's a rave thing.
Brooke
Yeah.
Danielle
Never seen that before, but I didn't know it made its way to the main.
Brooke
It made its way to Coachella.
Danielle
Yeah.
Brooke
So I'm like, you're at the ID check, and someone's, like, checking my id, and they have, like, a little barrette clip in their hair with, like, it's literally like a little antenna with a flower. And so she had it. And then I see people roaming around these little. And I'm sor. Sorry. It's not cute. Like, it's not.
Danielle
It's just random trinket. Like, yeah, it was crazy.
Brooke
So finally I asked one of the girls. I was like, could I just ask what's coming out of your head? She goes, oh, it's. I'm sprouting. Like, it's a sprout. I've been sprouted.
Danielle
I was like, what do you mean?
Brooke
I was like, is this, like, the new flower crown? She was like, it's just kind of like a rave thing. Like, she kind of explained, like, it's kind of maybe to do with drugs. It means you're, like, vibing at a concert. I don't know.
Danielle
I've been given. I think I might have told you this. Like, I've been given, like, trinkets, like, at concerts. Like, when I'm dancing next to someone, they, like, will give me, like, a little. Little, like, yes, I've heard this. And, like, I'm like, oh, my God. I'm like, good vibes, I guess. But, like, the trinkets are easier because you just Put it in your purse. But like, that. You, like, wear it on your person.
Brooke
Like, they're wearing them in their heads. And I'm sorry it, like, wasn't cute.
Danielle
No, no. But, like, the thing with raving is you just. You don't care.
Brooke
Yeah. But it made its way to, like, the Justin Bieber set, you know, waiting for Jamie.
Danielle
That should be at Subtronics. Like, that shouldn't be. Okay.
Brooke
So it just, like, it made its way. I just. As a not. I just. I had no idea it was a. Me and Claire were both, like, why does everyone have, like, sprouts coming out of the.
Danielle
Yeah, that's really funny. I didn't know. Made it to. Also, I thought it was, like, a little trend. I feel like I saw it, like, two years ago.
Brooke
I had never seen it before, but maybe. Maybe now it's made its way. Like, you said, Main Street.
Danielle
Yeah. But I. I did notice a lot of Coachella. There was, like, a big rave scene there, though.
Brooke
Yeah. I guess this year there were a lot of DJs there that hadn't, like, European DJs that hadn't come to the US in a couple years.
Danielle
Got it.
Brooke
So it was, like, a big deal.
Danielle
Yeah.
Brooke
I don't know. I never made my way over there. So tired. I was so.
Danielle
Is that far? Yeah, because that stuff is far.
Brooke
Yeah. You could, like. Because we had artists, you could, like, take a golf cart, which was really cool. But seriously, I was so tired at the end of each, like, I'm. I just, you know, that's. That's. I'm not meant for that life.
Danielle
Yeah.
Brooke
Okay. I have heard so many people for years. Like, my aunt, whenever she comes to visit, she brings, like, her fancy pillowcase. And I never understood it, but you know what? My dermatologist said to try silk. It's cooling, gentle, and it makes your skin and hair literally look better fast. Like, I never understood it, but now I get it. Because of Blissey.
Danielle
Yeah. I feel like people would be like, oh, I don't want to damage my hair. I was like, no, no. And now I, like, have sleep, but I'm like, oh, oh, oh. You were right all along.
Brooke
You were right all along. My hair looks significantly better the next day if I, you know, use that pillowcase. It's just so nice. Like, I get why people travel with them now.
Danielle
It's also, like, really comfortable to sleep on. I, like, you said, like, the fabric is, like, nice and cooling. I feel like you always want. You always want the cold side of the pillow, and it like actually always feels like that it's truly give this as a gift and I feel like the recipient will be blessed.
Brooke
No, you're so right. I also feel like I like to wear my hair up a lot of the times when I go to sleep, but then I feel like it causes more breakage and it's pulling. So something like a blissy pillowcase is just perfect for that. And I'm like, oh, I'm doing something good for myself just while I'm sticking sleeping.
Danielle
Totally. And. And they have over 100 colors. They have like really cool collections. This is the brand guys like if you're going to get a silk pillowcase, I feel like, you know, you don't know where to start. Go to Blissey.
Brooke
They also, not for nothing, they have a great pillow spray we both have been using. It smells. It's the best smelling one I've ever found and I've used a lot of them.
Danielle
It's not, not offensive.
Brooke
Yeah, non offensive but like very relaxing. Oh my gosh. I just love it. So because you're a listener, Blissey is offering 60 nights risk free plus an additional 30 off when you use Shoplissy. Like, you're like, oh, my God. It feels like punishment. Like, truly, truly more like punishment than like, actually a sweet treat. And I'm. I don't give up dessert, even if I'm trying to be good. Whatever. No, I need that sweet treat.
Brooke
You need your sweet treat. So we're getting rid of those freezer frauds like Brooke was talking about. Yasso, the real deal.
Danielle
Yaso took everything that we love about ice cream and upgraded it with creamy frozen Greek yogurt. So you get the best of both worlds. The delicious ice cream taste and that better for you nutrition.
Brooke
And they have everything, you guys. My dad is literally obsessed with the bars, but they also have chocolate crunch bar sandwiches, poppables. And Yaso just launched a new spoonables, which each have around 400 calories and 19 grams of protein per container.
Danielle
I love a container. I love a container. Like, I'm like, I can sit down with that container.
Brooke
Perfect.
Danielle
Yes. Now, through April 30, Yaso is actually giving away 4,000 in one of their new spoonables. You just have to head to yaso.comgals to enter and upgrade your freezer. That's Y A S S O.com to enter and to find full giveaway details, rules and regulations.
Brooke
Find new Yaso spoonables at a grocery store near you. Oh, this was so funny. We were waiting for a porta Potty at me and Clara, and this girl comes down.
Danielle
I'm sorry.
Brooke
This was just so funny. She comes out of the porta potty. She goes, just a warning. Like, it doesn't flash. I was like, the porta Potty, it doesn't flush. And she was like, what do you mean? I was like, there's no flush like that.
Danielle
What you're seeing is one big bucket.
Brooke
It's just. And she was like, oh, my God, this. Well, I thought it was broken. I just want to let you know.
Danielle
First time in a porta Potty.
Brooke
Yeah. I was like, that is her first time in a Porta Potty.
Danielle
Wow.
Brooke
Doesn't flush. I was peeing my pants.
Danielle
Like, it was funny.
Brooke
I actually was being my pants. I had to pee so bad. I was like, get out of the way. I don't care.
Danielle
There's no sink.
Brooke
Like, some of the porta Potties, I went to the bathroom in. Like, seriously, you should be like, Clara literally couldn't believe I walked into one of them. I was like, I have to pee. Like, I'm gonna hover. Oh. She actually asked me, first of all, are you, like, in a public bathroom, will you hover or you sit on the toilet?
Danielle
I'm, like, psychotic. I, like, put down toilet paper, so. But you said, but I will not sit bare. You know, I would hover over.
Brooke
Would you get the toilet cover? You know, like, the. Yeah, the toilet.
Danielle
Like. But one time, I was, like, drunk in a bathroom with, like, two of my friends, and I, like, started putting down the paper, and they were like, brooke, what are you doing right now?
Brooke
That is.
Danielle
I was putting down paper. Like.
Brooke
Like one. She said, I didn't know that. So you'll do that? Like, no matter. Like, at a restaurant, you're putting toilet paper down.
Danielle
Yeah, I do it at the.
Brooke
A lot of work. No wonder you don't like to pee all the time. There's so much work.
Danielle
I. I just don't have that much. Like, I've got a big tank, I guess. Like, I really have realized.
Brooke
So you don't. But you don't hover.
Danielle
I will hover.
Brooke
Oh.
Danielle
If. If, like. Let's just say there's not happening. Like, I would either have. Like, I really don't sit on it. Like, I really try not to not. I don't know why. Like, it just.
Brooke
Yeah. No, a lot of people. Yeah. Claire asked me, and I was like. I don't know what Brooke would say.
Danielle
You know, in Japan, they have, like, bidets and everything, and that's cool. Even the public toilets, most of them are heated, which is very odd.
Brooke
Yeah. You sit down, you're like, did someone just sit here?
Danielle
Yeah. No, someone warmed it up for me. Like, which I don't.
Brooke
Just the bidet.
Danielle
I think I like that. For a private toilet, but not for sure. What would you do? Oh, I just said.
Brooke
I just said. But, like, in those poured potties, I was hugging, covering.
Danielle
Thank God. Jesus Christ.
Brooke
Clara was like, do you sit? I was like, not in the porta Potty. She was like, you sit everywhere else.
Danielle
I was like, there's not even a seat.
Brooke
No, no, they're.
Danielle
No.
Brooke
Like, guys use them too.
Danielle
Yeah.
Brooke
No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
Danielle
Wait. Why? I thought that you guys get better bathrooms with their pass.
Brooke
This was when we were walking into the festival. The traffic was abs. Like, we would literally be in the car for two hours before we got into the festival.
Danielle
What time did you head to the house?
Brooke
Depends on the day, but usually we left around 3, 4.
Danielle
And everyone left at the same time?
Brooke
No, there were different, like, Barbie setup times because everyone had different. It was, like, setup. But at one point, Claire and I were just so eager to get into the festival that we saw one of those rickshaws. Lock jaw.
Danielle
I don't know. I'm sorry. I'm not familiar with the rickshaw.
Brooke
Like, they haven't been times squared. The bikes. I think that's what they're called. The bike.
Danielle
The bikers. Yeah, they have those in Japan, too.
Brooke
Okay. Yeah.
Danielle
Yes.
Brooke
I don't know.
Danielle
Rickshaw.
Brooke
Rickshaw.
Danielle
Lockjaw.
Brooke
So we got one of those, and we, like, beat all the. Like, we literally got out of our car and just would go to the festival like that. But we just had to pee so bad. But yes, in the artist era, I was really excited to have artist passes because I've had artist pass for Stagecoach, and they're sick. Like, it's where all the celebrities are, whatever. And it's the same for Coachella. But this year. And, hey, I was excited to be there, so let me not. But there were just so many more people. Like, the artist area was so packed for Sabrina Carpenter the first night that I was like, oh, my God, for Justin Bieber, we're gonna literally have to, like, camp out. And I actually wish we, like, camped out longer. I also see why people wear adult diapers to these things. Because I could have used it. Definitely could have used it. I didn't. We didn't.
Danielle
But so then you lose your spot and you. Yeah. Like, you lose your spot for good.
Brooke
Yeah, yeah, yeah. You lose your spot for good. It was really interesting, too, when we were in the artist bathroom area. Like, you know, it's like, we're all dogs here. Like, once you're in the artist area, it's like we're all. No, no, no. Like, certain celebrities would, like, cut us in line. Like, their security guards would get them to the front of the line so they could pee. And I'm like, people, we all have to pee.
Danielle
So I have a question, because I, like, I know that that's the. So you were in the celebrity.
Brooke
Yeah, they really were there. Which was.
Danielle
No, I completely believe. I mean, it must be true. But, like, when Haley. When they, like, show Haley on the. In the crowd at Justin set, is she in a special, special area?
Brooke
I thought she would be, but from videos, I think she's just at the very front of artists.
Danielle
But they, like, walked her up.
Brooke
They walked her and opened a barricade. I'm so touched by the Biebers. Like, I'm just so happy for them.
Danielle
I know. I feel like they're really getting a lot of positive PR this week.
Brooke
They deserv.
Danielle
Yeah.
Brooke
They literally deserve it so much. I am just so. That concert, like, I won't even talk about so much cuz, like, you could just go on Tik tok and like, it was just so special and I'm just so grateful I got to be there. Like, truly.
Danielle
It was a full circle for you. Like, as a.
Brooke
It was full circle. I'm sure, like, for a lot. I'm not special in that way. Like, so many people grew up like Beliebers, but it was just so touching to see him, like, seriously come out of his shell and be so happy. And like, then to see Weekend too, he's just even more confident and like, it was. It was the coolest thing. But it is so crazy because in my head, like, everyone knows Justin Bieber. Like, we all know what's going on. We all know that he hasn't toured in so long, whatever. But the other day I was here in New York and I was talking to someone and I was like, oh, I just got back from Coachella. I got to see Justin Bieber. She was like, oh, like, what's he? Is he on a world tour right now? I was like, oh, my God. People don't even know the lore.
Danielle
Yeah, they're not, like, too deep into it.
Brooke
I think this was like, the biggest deal that he performed at Coachella. He hasn't performed to a big audience in. So it was just like, yeah, I just think everyone's in my world. But.
Danielle
No, no, I know. I get that too. About certain artists I'm like, to have. Haven't we seen the footage of, like, so and so? Or I'll like, look someone up and I'm like, oh, they just finished a tour. I didn't see anything about the tour. Yeah.
Brooke
Also that it's just like, it's actually really cool that everyone has their own interests and there's like, little pockets of everything.
Danielle
Yeah. Oh, that's a good way of looking at it. Yeah, it was healing. I feel like a lot of Beliebers were like, it was healing. Did you feel that way?
Brooke
It was so healing. Like, as like, era's tour was for chance. Like, it.
Danielle
Did you cry?
Brooke
Oh, my God, yeah, I figured it was like. And I really didn't think I honestly. And I was, I was prepared like we kind of talked about in the podcast, I was prepared for it too be like swag his new album and like maybe throw in baby. But to have him go up there and like pull up his YouTube and like really. And the people that didn't understand, I was like, you don't know kid. Raul, he started on YouTube. Like it was, it was just so special. And then just to see Haley and him, like I feel like him and Haley are like even more in love right now. Like God, I just, I feel like
Danielle
he got through his demons. Like I feel like he was like in a dark place and like too, you know.
Brooke
Really freaking cool.
Danielle
That is. That is really cool. I didn't watch the weekend. I didn't. I honestly didn't really like seek out any of the footage but like, well,
Brooke
honestly I don't know where to find it. Thank God. Honestly, thank God weekend too. I was at home in Florida and I literally stayed up till 2.30am to start it and thank God I did because the next morning I couldn't even find where to watch it full cuz it streamed on YouTube maybe or I know I hearing rumblings of him doing a documentary. So maybe they're. Maybe it's gonna be be on Netflix one day or who knows. But I'm glad I stayed up. My mom actually I wasn't staying at her condo but she texted me at 2:30. She's like, oh baby, I'm up. I'm in the bathroom watching it. She literally stayed up till 4am with me.
Danielle
Is she a Beaver fan?
Brooke
She has been touched by this whole thing through me because she grew, I grew up and she would take me to all these concerts with my dad and like I don't know, I think we all just. It was this collective like oh, that's really nice. I'm just so grateful and it's just such a fun time in music. Drake just announced a new album.
Danielle
I'm like, yeah, you're thriving. This is like the season of your music.
Brooke
Yes, I'm really. Oh, it's all good. I'm really enjoying music at the moment. I mean, who's not?
Danielle
I have circling back to Coachella, Clara I feel doesn't listen to a lot of music.
Brooke
Does she really?
Danielle
Does she? No. I was gonna ask you how was she at Justin Bieber and stuff? Like was she like I'm just in
Brooke
it or like she actually was the one who was like oh, we need to get to Justin like two hours before.
Danielle
Oh. To get a good spot.
Brooke
Which I appreciated because I felt that way, but I didn't think she'd be down. And so I was like, I'm not gonna push, but thank God she did. So we stayed for the whole strok. She was like, no, no, no, we gotta eat, we gotta pee, we gotta do all that and then we'll. We'll just stay. And I'm like, wait, this is.
Danielle
Wow. Okay. So she knew.
Brooke
Yeah. No, she was. She. We had so much fun at Young Thug. Like, it was good. It was. We were both aligned on who we wanted to.
Danielle
Yeah.
Brooke
Which was.
Danielle
No, she's a very fun time, but I feel like I don't like, picture her listen.
Brooke
Well, she does it because when she films her Sunday resets. Back when we had her on the podcast the first time, she said she
Danielle
doesn't really listen to music.
Brooke
Crazy. Because she likes the ASMR sound in the video.
Danielle
And I just don't know her to be like, I don't jamming out. Yeah.
Brooke
But she knew a lot of the things actually we were vibing. She like, before we did some of the. She was like, just so you know, I don't know all the words. I was like, by the way, I. I consider myself. I literally am in the top 1% of Drake fans on Spotify. I don't know all the lyrics.
Danielle
Yeah.
Brooke
And I don't think that means you're not a real fan. It means like, you listen to so many of his songs. Like, I don't know. I just think I was like, I don't judge that.
Danielle
I mean, it's like if someone like follows you but doesn't like know everything about you. Yeah. Or maybe they're a bigger YouTube fan than like on Right. Or something. I feel like 100 equivalent. But they know the overarching. Like.
Brooke
Yeah.
Danielle
I was explaining this to someone recently because I was talking about someone who's pregnant. I was like, I knew she was pregnant. I didn't know how pregnant because I
Brooke
don't keep up that much.
Danielle
But I know the nine month cycle.
Brooke
Yeah. She's in it right now.
Danielle
You know, Like, I feel like that's how I follow a lot of people is like loosely. Totally to understand.
Brooke
Yeah. And I'm okay with that.
Danielle
Yeah. Well, Barbie seemed like a great time. It's a lovely.
Brooke
Barbie was.
Danielle
Lovely house.
Brooke
It was a really. It was so fun. There was a welcome dinner the first night that was so fabulous. And. And they just. We had everything. Barbie Merch. And we were actually. We weren't in a house technically, but it was like, we were all in villas right next to each other with our own, like, pool. So it felt like it. They just did such a good job. It was so fun. I was so, so grateful to go.
Danielle
So how far was the hotel from the. Well, you said two hours, but we
Brooke
stayed in Palm Springs. That's also why normally I stay in Indio, which is like closer. So that's al. That also played into it. But Palm Springs is like, prettier, I think, than in like, yeah, mountains. It's very vibey. But no, I. And I'm just. I. As this is going up, I would have just gone back from Stagecoach, but, like, I'm. I'm so excited to go back to the desert. I've got like desert fever. I don't know. You're in a desert fever.
Danielle
You've got the itch.
Brooke
I've got the itch. And thank God, because that's, you know, it's a lot go back to. But I'm so excited. Oh, my God. And as this is going up, you would have just ran the marathon. Half marathon.
Danielle
Yeah. I can't believe it either. That's another thing. Like, you going back to the desert is my legal of me. Like, it's like, how is she doing it? I don't know.
Brooke
Like, no, literally. I can't literally hear about it.
Danielle
I might, I might, like, my legs might buckle at the end. But, like, you know, I'm gonna.
Brooke
But hey.
Danielle
But hey.
Brooke

MacKenzie
My name's MacKenzie and I started a GoFundMe for the adoptive mother of a non version autistic child. The mother had lost her job because she wasn't able to find adequate care for this autistic child. So she really needed some help with living expenses, paying some back bills. So I launched a GoFundMe to help support them during this crisis and we raised about $10,000 within just a couple of months. I think that the surprising thing was by telling a clear story and just like really being very clear about what we needed, we had some really generous donations from people who were really moved by the situation that this family was struggling with.
