Delaney
I'm so excited. Work and bathroom life private.
Brooke
I fear I should not that cool. I feel very connected.
Delaney
That's just a Bieber.
Brooke
No, no, no, no.
Delaney
Better I was not there to see that.
Brooke
I don't care what you have to do.
Danielle
She was a fairy.
Brooke
Are you willing to try?
Danielle
Like, aging is actually a beautiful thing.
Brooke
Me at 23, I'm like, she was an idiot.
Danielle
Come on, horsey. Giddy up.
Brooke
Hey, guys. What's up? Welcome back to Gals on the Go podcast.
Delaney
It's Brooke, Danielle, and Delaney. What's up?
Danielle
Delaney is back on Gals on the Go podcast.
Delaney
So excited. It's been like two years, right?
Danielle
Two years at least.
Delaney
Because you were in your old apartment.
Danielle
I was in two.
Delaney
Two apartments ago. That was a while ago.
Danielle
That is crazy. And people absolutely loved that episode.
Delaney
So honored.
Danielle
So we simply had to have you back on.
Delaney
Thanks for having me.
Danielle
Oh. Oh, my gosh.
Brooke
Of course.
Danielle
It's so funny. Last time Delaney was on the podcast, she was sitting on my couch.
Delaney
I know. We were all cozy on the couch. Now I'm like, wow, we're in this really big, fancy studio.
Danielle
She's like, oh, my gosh, all these lights.
Delaney
I feel so official.
Danielle
Well, if for those of you. If you don't know who Delaney is. I feel like everyone that's listening knows, cuz I talk about you all the time. But actually all three of us went to Georgia together. Same sorority, everything and. But Delaney's were the same age and we were roommates in college for two years. Junior and senior. They were roommates and we had so much fun. And now she lives in New York too with us, which is so fun. And she works a true. I don't. It's not even 9 to 5.
Delaney
You're always doing things 10 to 6, but like weekends.
Danielle
Yeah.
Delaney
Always on after hours. You're.
Danielle
You're really into your work, which I think is really cool. And we always loved hearing about your job. You do digital marketing, I guess you.
Delaney
Would say digital marketing. Agency. Brand, Social media.
Danielle
Brand social. So you do social media for like the brand side, Correct?
Delaney
Like, yeah, yeah.
Danielle
You're not working with like influencers?
Delaney
No, we have a whole side of our agency that does that. But not me.
Danielle
It would be like kind of crazy if you did the influencer side.
Delaney
I know. I think it would be a little too close.
Danielle
It would be too like. It would be a little too close. I'd be like, delaney, get me a brand yet? No, it would be like crazy. So. But we're so excited to have you on and we're just going to chit chat because you went to the Super Bowl.
Delaney
Not the.
Danielle
Well, sorry, but like the Super Bowl.
Delaney
I'm not that cool. I went to super bowl weekend. It was so fun. I was manifesting game tickets all weekend long. But it didn't happen. It wasn't my ear.
Danielle
It's okay.
Delaney
And it wasn't the patsy er either. So honestly, it's better. I was not there to see that.
Danielle
You weren't there to see it. We have to talk about that. We just have to talk about lots of things. So we'll get into that. This segment is sponsored by Hinge and Hinges. Gen Z Date Report. I am so excited because Delaney, you are like my awesome single friend.
Delaney
Thank you so much.
Danielle
Brooke and I both. I feel like we'll text you, be like. We'll talk about your dates and everything. And it's so fun. To recap. So you moved to New York. How many years has it been now?
Delaney
A little over three years.
Brooke
Wow.
Delaney
Three years. I know.
Brooke
Oh my God. Time flies when you're having fun, am I right?
Danielle
And so you downloaded Hinge when you moved here. Did you have.
Delaney
Before I moved here? Yeah. I've been exclusively hinged since Atlanta.
Danielle
Wow.
Delaney
I know.
Danielle
Exclusively Hinge now. When you got here, I feel like there's just so many, like, people to chat with. Like, I have loved sitting with you and you like the recap. Oh, my gosh. Gosh. It's amazing.
Brooke
I know.
Delaney
I. I feel like I jumped the gun when I moved here. Like, I, like, went on a lot of dates.
Danielle
You did. And I think it was really fun cuz you met so many different people. It was exciting.
Delaney
New city. Yeah.
Danielle
New city, new stories, new experiences.
Brooke
I feel like dating in New York is really fun.
Delaney
I don't know how you would describe it, but it's a little overwhelming. But it's fun. There's a lot of fish in the sea.
Brooke
That's what is so great about it. I feel like it's very, like, you know, if one doesn't work out, you turn the corner and there's another. Right.
Delaney
Exactly.
Danielle
And I feel like with you, because I have lived with you, I've known you a minute, and I feel like you really value, like, their personality and conversation.
Delaney
Oh, my God. Yes.
Danielle
It totally makes sense. And I feel like with you too, like, you'll say like, and like, the conversation wasn't really there or whatever it is, but a lot of times I feel like recently you've been like, no, the conversation. Like, we actually have these really deep conversations. Did you know that Gen z daters are 36% more hesitant than millennials to initiate a deep conversation on the first date?
Delaney
I feel like that track.
Danielle
Does that try?
Delaney
Yeah, I think so. Like, from my experience on first dates especially, of course on a first date, like, you want to keep it a little more surface. Like you're just getting to know someone.
Danielle
Yeah.
Delaney
It's not until a second or third date where you're probably gonna go deeper.
Danielle
Yeah.
Delaney
So that tracks.
Danielle
I think that's so interesting too. It's also cool because I feel like, you know, you see movies and you see all these things and you think like, oh, like, you're not gonna really get to know them. But, like, people really do want to chat and they do want to get to know you and they want to see, like, even when you've dated Brooke, oh, my God.
Brooke
I feel like I've gotten life stories.
Danielle
Yeah.
Delaney
Yeah.
Brooke
I'm like, o. I know everything about you. I know we're going to summer camp. I know where you like everything on the first date.
Danielle
I feel like small talk.
Delaney
Yeah. No, I mean, sometimes, though, small talk can lead into those, like, deeper conversations. Like, you're asking how many siblings you Have. And all of a sudden you're going on like a deep backstory in your childhood. I'm like, whoa, how'd we get here?
Danielle
It is really cool. And like, when you see their prompts too, I bet you're like, oh, I need to remember to ask him about.
Delaney
That because I'm opposite. I'm like, I don't want to seem creepy. Like, I looked at their profile a lot before the date.
Danielle
That's also true.
Delaney
Yeah.
Danielle
Think about it like that. You're like, no, I actually act really cool.
Delaney
I try to. Maybe it doesn't translate. They're like, we. I know you know this about me, but.
Danielle
No, you. I feel like you've had some good success.
Delaney
Yeah, no, I think I've been. I mean, since I moved here, I go on a date probably every few months. I'm not like a crazy dater, but, you know, every once in a while I like to get out there.
Danielle
I think it's fun. I feel like sometimes you'll text and be like, you know, I'm in the mood to go on some dates. I'm just gonna open the hinge up.
Delaney
Oh, I'll get in my mood on my, on my rampages. And I'm like, I. I just gotta go. Fire away. Date, date, date. And then I'll take like a three month hiatus. And I'm like, all right, back again.
Danielle
We're so back.
Delaney
We'.
Danielle
And hinge is always ready for you.
Brooke
So according to Hinges Gen Z Date Report, basically people are not going deep anymore. That's like, essentially what they're finding. And do you believe that the art is in the asking in terms of, like, when you're talking to people and you want to, like, get to that, like, deeper level? Like, are you comfortable sort of like going there and starting the deepness or like, I guess. How do you broach that?
Delaney
See, I always wait for them to go deep first because I don't want to be that person that's like vulnerability, vomit all over the place. So I'm like, okay, if I can sense they want to go deep with me, I'll be down to go deep with them. But yeah, that's interesting. I feel like I'm not really the first one to do it. It's all about who you're comfortable with, though. I mean, I've been on dates and I immediately click with that guy. And I'm like, yeah, let's go deep. Or I don't even realize I'm going deep. And then I leave the day and I'm like, holy cow. What did I just say?
Danielle
I like that term. Vulnerability vomit.
Delaney
Yeah.
Brooke
Have you ever had, like, the vulnerability hangover like that?
Delaney
Oh, my God. All the time. Especially if I'm really nervous for a day. I just ramble, ramble, ramble. And then I get home, I'm like, what did I just tell him?
Brooke
But I feel like everyone's in the same boat. Like, I feel like that they go home and they're thinking the same thing, too. And it's like, if we were all just, like, open about how we're all experiencing the same thing, like, maybe. Maybe we would all be a little more worried.
Delaney
It's like Sunday scaries. Like, everyone has those feelings after a night out.
Danielle
100%. Another thing that's on the hinges. Gen Z Date report. Did you know only 19% of hinge daters are uncomfortable with vulnerability?
Delaney
Wow. I feel like I'm in that. 19.
Danielle
You're like, you actually. You're looking.
Delaney
I'm like, that would be me right here.
Danielle
But I think that's so interesting. Only 19?
Delaney
Yeah. That's actually surprising to me. I feel like the stigma is normally around, you know, guys maybe don't want to go so deep. Like, they're only just trying to fish around. Yeah. But it's interesting that they're wanting to go deeper.
Danielle
I think we're in a world of, like, you see photos and you see this, and it's that. And it's like, we need connection more than anything ever. Like, I feel like recently I've just been finding. I'm like, I need a hug. Like, I need to, like, have a deep combo with someone because that's what really connects you. So maybe that's why. But that's also a good. Like, it's good to know for hinge, like, all these people.
Delaney
Yeah. Good to know I can go deep and it won't be.
Danielle
Yeah, you should try it on your next date and report back to us immediately.
Delaney
Launch in with a really personal question.
Danielle
Yeah, and it's also, like, interesting. Like, I feel like going deep is so different for so many different people. Like, for you, it could be like, tell me about your trauma. But then for someone else, it could be, tell me an experience that, like, really shaped.
Brooke
And then you start going into, like, childhood joy and healing your inner child.
Delaney
And it's like, it could be a fun game almost. It's like, hey, let's just go deep with each other, you know? Like, we can cut all the. Cut all the other stuff out.
Danielle
Yeah.
Delaney
Like, why ask me something really deep.
Danielle
Let's just see how we are.
Delaney
Yeah.
Danielle
See where we go. I absolutely love that.
Brooke
I feel like knowing that 19% of hinge shaders are uncomfortable with vulnerability, so. Meaning that that complete other percentage, they're okay with it and they're open to it. Like, does that change your mindset now? Like, do you think you can go into the next one and be like, yeah, like, let's. Let's be vulnerable?
Delaney
Yeah. I mean, my philosophy is almost like, always for a first date, you know, we're just getting to know each other. Let's just ask kind of those small talk questions. But I mean, now I kind of want to go deep and see what happens. Like, maybe they'll be way more receptive than I thought. We'll have more fun.
Danielle
100%. And you'll have to report back and we'll let the gal know, please. So basically, what I'm hearing here, thanks to Hinges, Gen Z Date Report, is that you don't need to have that vulnerability hangover. You don't need to wake up the next day and think, oh, my gosh, I talked so much, I got so deep. Like, it's sounding like people do really want to go deep. And I feel like that's really good assurance for you. And then for all of our listeners too. Like, dating is really exciting and it's really fun that you get to have all these really cool, meaningful conversations and maybe you get to learn something new along the way.
Delaney
Yeah.
Brooke
And you got to be yourself.
Danielle
You gotta be yourself. Yeah.
Brooke
So you guys can check out the full Hinge Gen Z Date Report, and that's gonna have, like, all of the tips, the stories, and really just so much more information. And it will help you, like, reflect on your dating experiences. I feel like it's a lot of, like, self reflection. You guys should check it out.
Danielle
So, Delaney, we have something on this podcast called Panic of the Week. Have you heard? I've heard where you share something that made you panic, and I heard that you have a panic of the week.
Delaney
Yes. Mine actually happened today, which was perfect timing because when you texted me to get one, I was like, I don't really have one yet. Like, I mean, great, great. But then one happened, and I'll set the scene a little bit. I was working from home today and I was watching some content, watching a video that I had to review. And it was a long video, and I was like, you know, I have to pee. Like, I'm going to take my laptop to the bathroom with me and, like, just set it on the sink and watch while I. While I go. While you go. While I go. Finished. I did our little match thing.
Danielle
Yeah.
Delaney
As we do. As we do the match flew across my bathroom, landed on my laptop.
Danielle
Lit.
Brooke
Lit.
Delaney
Oh, it was lit. Landed on one of my keys. My whole key starts like, no blazing up. And I'm like, holy shit, my laptop's gonna catch on fire. I quickly go over, step on it. The crisis was averted, but my key is now burnt to a crisp.
Danielle
Which letter?
Delaney
The tab.
Danielle
Oh, at least there's two, right?
Delaney
Yes. It wasn't that important, but that was a huge panic. I saw it like my whole life.
Brooke
That is so work life performance.
Delaney
You had to bring the computer, the bathroom, the match.
Brooke
Like these are layers on top of the.
Danielle
I'm thinking like it falls in the toilet. Classic.
Delaney
You know, like lesson learned.
Brooke
You gotta call the super or whatever.
Delaney
You know, Lesson learned. Like keep work out of the bathroom. Keep work and bathroom life private. Separation.
Brooke
Separation of bathroom and work.
Danielle
Wait, that's.
Delaney
So that happened. A life lesson to everyone. Hold on to your matches closely and don't bring your laptop.
Brooke
I do not do that trick. But I fear I should.
Delaney
What do you definitely should?
Brooke
I don't and I definitely should. There's definitely times when I'm like, do you ever use the. The spray?
Danielle
Like, I think it's awful.
Brooke
It makes it worse. Like the one that you spray before you go.
Danielle
No, I've never done that.
Brooke
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Delaney
Know like I've never had sex.
Brooke
I think it's better than nothing.
Danielle
Yeah.
Brooke
But yeah, you have to. But then by the time I think to use it, I'm like, it's too late. Cuz I usually use it too late. I'm like, it's not like, wait, you.
Delaney
Know what I mean?
Brooke
Like you have to really think through everything. Yeah.
Delaney
I'll forever be grateful to you for introducing me to the matches.
Danielle
Oh, it's. My mom introduced me to it, which is so great. Yeah. If you guys don't know what we're saying, before you or after you're done using the ladies room, you just light a match, let it light for a second and then you blow it out and let it. Let it waft a little and then throw it in the toilet. Because if you throw it in the trash, it could still have a little.
Brooke
You see this? We would never have done matches because, you know, fire safety. We were not a big match household. Yeah. Growing up, I feel like I saw a match for the first time when I was like 18. No.
Delaney
I'm joking.
Brooke
Yeah.
Danielle
No, we're not.
Brooke
Yeah, we're very, like. I feel like there's just, like, little habits that I picked up, like, with candles and things like that.
Delaney
You don't have so many since living here. All my matchboxes.
Danielle
Yeah, you do.
Brooke
So you actually use them then?
Delaney
Yeah, I use the ones from her apartment. The ones that say Danielle. Yeah.
Danielle
It says Danielle's place. I need to make some for me and Ryan.
Delaney
You do?
Danielle
So people can take.
Delaney
They're so cute. The little taxi on it, though. It's, like, good decor in the bathroom.
Danielle
It looks really nice in the back. I don't have any more, though. Now I'm out.
Delaney
Really?
Brooke
Time for Reaver Dream. The last apartment.
Delaney
I feel like it.
Brooke
Like.
Danielle
It'S like, seriously so quick. It's so funny. Now I have people asking, like, are you gonna renew? I'm like, yes, I am gonna stay here again, but that's a fair question, because I kept moving. But it was. It's so cool. Like, I was. I was on a. I was walking from place to place yesterday, and I was like, oh, now I'm in the East Village, and I used to live here. And then I was like, oh, now I'm in Greenwich Village, and I used to live here.
Delaney
I really have lived everywhere. Yeah.
Danielle
Well, not everywhere at all. But, yes, I've lived a couple spots, which is really fun. You've always lived in East Village?
Delaney
I was in. When I moved here, I was Lower east side. And now East Village, like, five minutes away.
Danielle
Yeah. So Delaney lived alone. You lived alone when you first moved here?
Delaney
I did. I didn't know anyone, like, moving here or looking for roommate, so I was.
Danielle
Like, and now you have the best roommates.
Delaney
I do. Cade. We went to college with him. He's the best.
Danielle
He's. So you guys, like, share clothes.
Brooke
It's amazing.
Delaney
I'm literally wearing his jacket right now.
Brooke
Really?
Danielle
She's wearing a smooth jacket.
Delaney
I need a jacket or anything. I'm like, can you see coming down to your closet?
Danielle
She always has cool sweaters. And, like, does he ever wear any of your things or just the other way around?
Delaney
Other way around.
Danielle
Hey, it's benefit for you.
Brooke
Yeah.
Delaney
Oh, I know. He. I mean, he does newly. So every month he's got new stuff. I'm like, perfect. I have no. I have no. I don't need it if he has it.
Danielle
Okay, we have to talk about Super Bowl. Super bowl weekend. What was it like? Because actually, last year, Delaney and I went to New Orleans for Super bowl weekend.
Delaney
I felt weird doing super bowl without you.
Danielle
I missed you so much. I was so I. Next year I decided I'm just going.
Delaney
You just have to go.
Danielle
It's in la.
Delaney
Because you'll go to things.
Brooke
Once you're there, you're gonna get yourself there.
Danielle
Yes. Because I had a couple brands. Be like, are you here? I'm like, I should have been there. And then you could just go do. That's what I'm learning. Half these people, you know, even like with Fashion Week, people fly to New York and then see what opportunities are last minute too. Yeah. So you got to go.
Brooke
You got to go to some cool parties.
Delaney
I did. So I was there for a work shoot last Friday and the shoot was only an hour and I was like, screw it. Let's make a weekend out of it. And we did the thing. We were asking around, asking our clients, different partners. Hey, party, party.
Sponsor/Ad Voice
Yeah.
Delaney
Yeah. And we got to go to Madden bowl on Friday night, which was cool. I missed seeing Tom Brady by five minutes. I was so obsessed. But Teddy Swims performed. Zach Bryan performed. That was really cool.
Danielle
Oh, you saw him? Did you see Christian. Was Christian McCaffrey playing the piano?
Delaney
Okay. It's on TikTok. But I did not see this.
Danielle
Okay. Maybe it was a different thing.
Delaney
Maybe I just.
Brooke
There was another big thing this weekend. Golf.
Danielle
Waste.
Delaney
Oh, waste management.
Brooke
Yes.
Delaney
So in Arizona.
Brooke
So that. What is that a tournament?
Danielle
Yeah, it's just a big.
Brooke
Okay. It always got.
Delaney
It's like right before the Super Bowl.
Danielle
Got it.
Brooke
So it's kind of like. Because I saw some things going on there and then like, music wise, I guess.
Delaney
Big weekend.
Brooke
Yeah. So anyways, not to cut you off so that you were going to all these parties. Can I ask how you go to these parties? Like how? Like, is it just like people share wristbands like you?
Delaney
Yeah. So I was there with my boss and some other people and we have all these different connections, different media partners.
Brooke
Sick.
Delaney
Like, Barstool was there and we're friends, a lot of them. So they were like, y' all want to tag along? Sure.
Brooke
So nice.
Danielle
Yeah, you always get really cool invites.
Delaney
And then Saturday we went to Sports Illustrated, which was so fun. We went to it last year.
Danielle
Yes.
Delaney
And it was nothing like it was last year.
Danielle
Like, it was even bigger, right?
Delaney
It was huge. It was in this huge warehouse. I mean, thousand plus people. It was crazy. Wow. Ludacris performed, then the Chain Smokers. Justin Bieber was there. He got brought on stage by Ludacris. It was so cool. I felt like a fish out of water. But I was like, this is crazy. I literally texted you at 2 in the morning. I'm like, danielle, Justin Bieber.
Danielle
And the way I was awake, like I had gotten up, I was shocked you responded. You know, it was actually 4am for me.
Delaney
Yeah.
Danielle
So I was like, danny must be so confused about replying.
Delaney
And I was like, she won't see this till the morning.
Danielle
But I saw it because I just. I, like, quickly was checking the time and I see his text, Danielle, and I honestly, I didn't know what the. Delaney sent me this video and I'm like.
Delaney
She said, is that Drake? I'm like, no.
Danielle
I was so confused. I was like. Because it was definitely. But I didn't see Justin Bieber. I was like, what am I looking at? But I knew it had to be someone that I'm, like, obsessed with. So I'm like, what am I looking at? And then you go, that's Justin Bieber. And I was like, oh, my God. I was. I was half asleep. I was like, what's going on?
Delaney
It was so crazy because Luda, he played.
Brooke
He played baby.
Delaney
He's. And we were like, oh, this is fun. And then after, he goes, and Justin's here in the front row. And we were like, you didn't bring him on to sing the song with you? But no, he, like, he came up and said hi and then left. It was cool, though.
Danielle
Justin is just, like, back. He's so back.
Delaney
He's so back.
Danielle
I'm so happy for him. Like, I just.
Delaney
He was everywhere this weekend. He went to the game.
Danielle
I'm so excited. Wait, I didn't tell the party. I told you guys. But, guys, I'm going to Coachella.
Brooke
Biebercella, I'm so excited for you.
Danielle
So excited to see Justin Bieber. And I've been looking up, like, obviously the thing with Coachella and just any concert before it actually starts, you don't know the set list until they begin. But it's not like Justin's going on tour. He's just doing Coachella and I'm going to Weekend One. So I don't know what his set list is. And I'm like, I wonder if he's going to do some old songs or if it's going to be all swag. I have no idea. And so I look up, like, literally, we did Mahjong last night. I'm looking at Mahjong playlists. Like, that's where I'm at in my life.
Brooke
She looks up, playlists for every niche activity that she's doing. Like washing dishes.
Danielle
Yeah. Cleaning.
Delaney
Ryan, when he searched dinner party playlist, what did he say? Dinner. It was like dinner.
Brooke
Right.
Delaney
Didn't he just put in dinner?
Danielle
He just put dinner. I was like, this is a nice place. He's like, oh, yeah. Just looked up dinner.
Brooke
Dinner.
Danielle
Yeah, of course. But I was looking up because people try to predict, you know.
Brooke
Yes, of course.
Danielle
Like it's like Justin Bieber Coachella set list. Because I know ball and there's a. There's a good mix of everything. So I'm really hoping. But I'm like, how do you know? But like, how do you know?
Brooke
Because I feel like you go based on the other artists and like what they typically do. And I feel like they do like the new album and then greatest, like some greatest hits too.
Delaney
Because I like a reunion tour. Like Harry Styles was that last year or two years ago. I mean he did everything. Obviously Beyonce's iconic Coachella.
Brooke
She did everything.
Delaney
It was a huge production. Like, it's going to be huge. Huge.
Brooke
Yeah, it's gonna be. He's gonna bring on a lot of exciting people, I'm sure.
Delaney
Yeah. Who do you think he'll bring out? Who does he have collabs with right now?
Danielle
I just like don't know because his Grammys performance was so amazing, don't get me wrong. But it was very simple. So I'm like very simple.
Brooke
Stripped down. Literally.
Danielle
Literally. But gosh, his voice.
Delaney
His voice is so good.
Danielle
Yeah, his voice. I was like, this is like, there he is. Like, oh yeah. Like I literally had a tear go down. My.
Delaney
I think you'll cry. I know.
Brooke
I think that's my boy.
Delaney
Yeah. I'm such a crier at concerts. Something like comes over me and I'm like, oh my gosh.
Brooke
It is very emotional. Do you guys. I don't know if this is universal experience. Like, do you get the chills often at live music? Like when you're watching live music, like, do you get.
Danielle
You probably really do at the things you go to.
Brooke
Yes, totally. I off. Like every time I go on to Broadway, every time I go anywhere, like I give full body chills and I'm just like, oh my God. Like I feel like.
Delaney
Yeah.
Brooke
Cuz I feel very connected.
Danielle
The new year is here. I mean, we're already in February, which is so crazy. And you guys know that I love to use the beginning of the year to kind of get back into my at home routine, elevate my space. And thanks to Wayfair I can do that. I. You guys know Ryan and I got this new rug from Wayfair for our living room, and it totally transformed the space, like, one little thing, but it made such a difference. It's like this beautiful, like, dough print. I'm obsessed. And it was just, like, an easy way to refresh the living room. You could also get accent pillows or do, like, some faux plants for just Way Less. At Wayfair, they also have kitchen essentials. They have, like, little things to elevate your work from home setup. You guys know Ryan and I have this office. We have a Murphy bed in our office, which is also from Wayfair. Clearly very into Wayfair because they just have such a huge selection of home decor items, and they really make it so easy to find exactly what's right for you. Like, I'll be looking for something, and they have so many options of it, so I just. I'm. I have so many options, and I can really decide what's best for me, so I absolutely love it. I feel like my decor style is very minimal, but with a little trendy chic twist. I don't know. What do you guys think my decor style is? And Wayfair has a lot for that. But also Wayfair. I've been helping my mom design her condo, and there's things from Wayfair that are, you know, go with her vibe, which is very, like, beach condo energy. So get organized, refreshed, and back on track this new year. For Way less, head to Wayfair.com right now to shop all things home. That's W-A-Y-F-A-I-R.com Wayfair, every style, every home.
Brooke
I don't know how to explain. It's, like, emotional. Like, you're like. I. I feel like I'm like their mother. I'm like, oh, my God. I want you to do well. Yeah. And you, like, have, like, you. You're rooting for them. I guess that's more. So what it is. Like, you're like, oh, my God, this is amazing.
Delaney
Yeah.
Brooke
Yeah.
Danielle
You're new. Did you end up. Are you gonna go to Jake Shane show?
Brooke
Oh, okay.
Delaney
We realized we were gonna go this Saturday, Valentine's Day, me and my friends, and we realized doesn't start till next week, so if you're around next weekend.
Brooke
So I saw the show with a different cast.
Danielle
Have you seen this show?
Brooke
That was. Yes, I saw this show. It's a rotating cast.
Delaney
Sarah Silverman, Heidi Gardner.
Brooke
No, I saw a different cast. I saw it, like, in the second, like, tier, because the first tier was like, Eric Andre was in it, but he was not in it for mine. I have to tell you, the people who are in it. Wayne Brady was in mine.
Delaney
Oh, yeah, I know who that is.
Brooke
Yes.
Danielle
Delaney literally knows every single actor, singer you could possibly think of.
Delaney
I know him because he was on Dance of the Stars.
Danielle
Oh.
Brooke
I know him from let's Make a Deal. That's what he.
Danielle
Let's cut you a deal.
Delaney
Wait, so is it.
Brooke
No.
Delaney
So it's a comedy show. Is it a play? I still unclear.
Brooke
So I was unclear as well. It's called All Out. Like a comedy about ambition. And it is. It's like sketch comedy in the sense that, like, they are fully, like, reading from a script. Like, and it's like, very much so. Like. Yes. So that's why I think they could have a rotating cast, because it's like, not really like, they're playing a part and, like, I'm sure they do rehearsals and whatnot, but it's like, that's kind of the shame. But then there's singing in between and they're like. There is, like, an underlying, like, music plot that has nothing to do with the sketches. It's very strange, honestly.
Danielle
Not underlying music.
Brooke
No. That's the best. You're gonna, like, see it now and be like, I. I understand what you're saying because I was not expecting that. The music was great, but it was just so random. Like, it was Rogue Man.
Delaney
Like, can he sing?
Brooke
No. No. So he's the. The sketch comedy people are completely separate from the musicians.
Delaney
Got it.
Danielle
So there's like, two shows.
Brooke
There's literally two shows. I'm telling you, they're two completely separate shows. But I feel like they kind of need the music to move it along because otherwise it's just like skits. It's a little still it totally. Yeah.
Delaney
Okay, now I'm excited.
Sponsor/Ad Voice
Yeah.
Brooke
And some are funnier than others. I feel like it's like giving SNL energy. That's why they get a lot of, like, SNL people, I think.
Delaney
Yeah. For who else was in it with him? It was a star studded cast. I can't wait.
Danielle
A star studded?
Brooke
No. Be interesting to see your.
Delaney
Yeah.
Danielle
Have you seen all the Oscar movies by now?
Delaney
No, I have a long way to go. Some of them I just don't have interest in, but I want to. I want to do it so I.
Brooke
Can say I did it.
Danielle
Have you done it before or you've seen.
Delaney
I did it once before, like a few years ago. Because my mom is obsessed with the Oscars and she does watch all of them. Really?
Danielle
I got the invite.
Brooke
Yeah. Yes.
Danielle
She. Every year she said. Brooke was like, is that.
Delaney
I don't get one this year yet. Danielle got the Oscar invite for my mom and I didn't get one.
Brooke
I got it like in the mail.
Delaney
Yeah, I'm sure.
Danielle
I got like.
Delaney
I'm sure. Certainly building next door.
Danielle
Are you going though?
Delaney
I don't think so.
Danielle
Yeah. No. But her mom does this insane, like, Oscar party where you literally wear red carpet attire.
Delaney
Oh, yeah. She has a red carpet in front of her house. All the guys wear tuxes, the ladies are in gowns. She has servers walking around, photographers. It's very bougie.
Brooke
And you're into movies.
Delaney
I feel like very into movies because of my mom. Like, I grew up in movies. Yeah.
Danielle
Brooke watched Begonia.
Brooke
I did.
Danielle
Because we talked on the podcast.
Delaney
Oh, my gosh.
Brooke
I. It was very strange. Really strange. Yeah.
Delaney
My consensus on it is that I really liked it until the last 10 minutes.
Brooke
Cuz then it just like, it just. It went off the rails. I know.
Danielle
I'm like, totally it. Honestly, the last 10 minutes.
Delaney
It's weird. But I liked the plot twist at the end.
Danielle
Yeah.
Delaney
Not to spoil it.
Brooke
Yeah. I like, saw what they were trying to do and I was just like, it's just not for me. Like, it made me feel, like, uncomfortable, which I feel like it's supposed to like. That's the point of a movie, right? It makes you feel things.
Delaney
Yeah.
Brooke
I think. I don't. I feel like I just don't like high film. Like, I. I feel like I don't have the taste for it. Like I. I see what they're trying to do and I'm just like, okay.
Danielle
And you're like, you know, traitors.
Brooke
Yeah.
Delaney
What you would like is one battle after another. The really DiCaprio Tiana Taylor, one that's nominated. Okay. She won the Golden Globe for it.
Danielle
She did.
Delaney
Did you watch it yet?
Danielle
No, because I already watched it, so.
Delaney
It was very good.
Brooke
War movie.
Delaney
Yeah.
Danielle
Must be some battles.
Delaney
It's definitely like thriller on the run, kind of.
Brooke
Oh, I like those.
Delaney
Yeah. Okay. It was very good.
Brooke
Okay.
Delaney
I recommend.
Brooke
I could get behind that. I mean, I liked like, Dune. Like, I like those type of movies. So, like, is it. And not that you could equate it to that, but that's like an action movie, I feel.
Delaney
Yeah. Not the same vibes, but same, I.
Brooke
Guess, energy where it's like Thing into thing into thing.
Danielle
Correct.
Delaney
I love that, too.
Brooke
Yeah.
Danielle
What shows are you watching right now?
Delaney
Here's a lot of reality tv. Like Traders, of course.
Brooke
You watch Traders? Yes, I wish.
Danielle
True. I know I gave it a shot. I just don't know all, like, you guys, like, know all the people on it.
Delaney
I don't, though. I know all the housewives, but I don't know, like, these skaters. And.
Brooke
Yeah. Now they're doing the commentary for the Olympics.
Danielle
Yeah.
Delaney
I'm like, I know.
Brooke
Yeah.
Delaney
Like, you know, the drama is so good. I don't know what I was expecting, but it's a lot better than I expected. It's just fun to be a part of something. You go online after everyone's talking.
Brooke
Totally. It feels like OG Bachelor days, you know, when we, like, Bachelor used to be so, like, live.
Delaney
Yeah.
Brooke
Like, you're watching it. Oh, my God. Like, so connected 100. It kind of feels like that in a way.
Delaney
People are saying this season is not as good as seasons past.
Brooke
I think it's taking a bit of a dip. Like, it was, like, showing promise, this one.
Delaney
Like, the people aren't as good or, like, the plot.
Brooke
Yeah. Like, the players aren't very good. Like, it's very entertaining to watch when the people are, like, really? Like, they're all on, like, Rob's level. You know what I mean?
Delaney
He's the only one who's like, totally.
Brooke
No, because some of them just shop and they're like, I'm literally just here for the vibes. And some people show up and they are hungry for the money, honey. Like, they want to. You know what I mean? Like, they want that. Season two. You would, like, then. Okay. Because that was when the people from Challenge did it, and they were really motivated, and they were like, I'm winning this money. Like, and it's entertaining to watch.
Delaney
Yeah.
Brooke
Yeah. What else you watch? Like, Real House. Do you watch Real Housewives and stuff like that?
Delaney
Like, I do. I really only am consistent with Beverly Hills. Those are, like, my OGs.
Danielle
Salt Lake.
Delaney
I know the players. I don't really watch everybody. I feel like I know what's going on because I watch it all on Tick Tock, but I don't consistently watch New York. I know.
Danielle
Did you guys grow up watching the Olympics?
Delaney
No.
Danielle
Yeah, I didn't either. I wasn't an Olympics household, but when I was home in Florida, we put on the Olympics, and it was quite relaxing.
Delaney
It is quite fun. I like winter more than summer.
Brooke
Totally. I just watched it today. Emotional, like, because it was no, it was the. It was the. The skating in couples, not the married couple. They are married. They got silver though, not gold. It was sad.
Delaney
It was sad.
Brooke
They were like, they're whole. Johnny Weir was announcing it. He's like, they've worked their whole life for this. I'm deficit France.
Delaney
I went on a deep dive on the plane ride home the other day and like learned about all of them. Ilia, the single male.
Brooke
I. I only saw the male, female, like. Yeah. So a lot of them become couples because they like our skating parties.
Delaney
Yeah.
Brooke
They were doing everything for the other.
Delaney
12 years together skating for 12 years. Yeah.
Danielle
Oh, I've heard about this.
Delaney
They're so cute.
Brooke
I mean, they're beautiful. They take that like. And they're dressed in these costumes. They look like they're straight out of the house.
Delaney
You know, she makes them.
Danielle
I feel like this is something we don't talk about enough, but PMS symptoms can genuinely affect your entire week. Like the hormonal acne, the bloating, the mood swings. It's exhausting dealing with that cycle month after month. And for a long time I just kind of thought that was something I had to accept. But recently I've learned about the flow PMS relief gummies from O Positive and they're actually the first ever PMS gummy vitamin designed to help with symptoms like cramps, bloating and mood swings. They're plant based and use ingredients like chast berry vitamin B6 and lemon balm, which support hormone balance and help your body feel more regulated overall. You can just take one daily and over time it helps support clearer skin, less bloating, and honestly, just feeling more like yourself throughout the month, not just during your good week. I love that. OH Positive is a women's health company focused specifically on supporting women through every stage of life. Because these symptoms are so common but rarely talked about. If you want to take proactive care of your health, head to oh positive.com.com gals or enter code gals at checkout for 25 off your first purchase. That's O P O S I T I V.com gals for 25% off.
Delaney
She's a costume designer.
Brooke
Oh my God.
Delaney
What? Yes. She's like an aspiring.
Brooke
Literally, I'm like, what did I do today? I watched the Olympics.
Delaney
No, most of them have jobs outside of it, which is crazy to me. Or not jobs, but they all do something.
Danielle
I guess that makes sense. Olympics aren't even every year and are.
Brooke
They competing every four years? So they have like competitions But I'm like, where is the adult duo ice skating competition? Like, where are those being held? Like, have you heard about these ever?
Delaney
Like, so true.
Danielle
Or some of these sports where the women, like, shoot an arrow and then.
Delaney
Oh, that one's new to me.
Danielle
I am really excited for the Olymp. The summer. The next summer Olympics is gonna be flag football, and so we're gonna have football players that we know and love. Like, that'll be really fun to watch.
Delaney
I think we both played flag football growing up.
Danielle
Did both play flag football growing up? And we played together briefly in college on the KD team.
Delaney
Yeah.
Brooke
There was a KD team.
Delaney
Yeah.
Danielle
I don't know who we played. Did we play another sorority?
Delaney
Did we play together?
Danielle
I don't remember.
Delaney
I don't. Like, did we win? I don't.
Danielle
I remember my boyfriend at the time. I even brought him.
Delaney
Yeah.
Danielle
That's how you met him, I think.
Delaney
I think that is how I met him.
Danielle
That's probably the only time you met him. That's so funny.
Brooke
I did not realize that we had a flag football team.
Danielle
I don't think I knew about that.
Brooke
Yeah, I knew about the dance coming.
Danielle
In, but not the dance. Oh, the great grind.
Brooke
And there wasn't, like, a singing competition, too. I feel like we were never good, but I. I feel like there was.
Delaney
Did you ever try out for Greek Grind?
Brooke
Oh, no, no, no, no, no, no.
Delaney
I'm not a dancer. Oh, well, I tried out freshman year. Did not make it.
Danielle
That's kind of how we became.
Delaney
That's kind of how we met, because she wrote in our group, me. She's like, I'm driving to auditions. And I was like, I'll take a ride.
Brooke
Oh, that's sweet. Yeah, I. It's not for me. I tried out for the middle school dancing, but didn't make. And that was the end of my dance career.
Danielle
Can we talk about how you got a Pokemon sponsorship?
Brooke
Yes. That's so cool.
Delaney
Yes.
Brooke
Thank you. Circle for me. Thank you.
Danielle
I, like, opened my phone today, and I was like, oh, my God, Brook's working with Pokemon. No.
Brooke
When I. When I saw. I saw, like, the first email come in, and I, like, forwarded it to, like, our team.
Danielle
I don't care.
Delaney
But, yes.
Brooke
I was like, I don't care what you have to do. Just make it happen. I was like, I'll do anything.
Danielle
So cool.
Brooke
Yeah, so it is very cool.
Danielle
I heard there's, like. There's so. I mean, there's obviously so much Pokemon in Japan when you.
Brooke
Oh, I'M so excited. Oh, yeah. What, are you excited? Yeah. End of March.
Delaney
Yeah.
Brooke
So it's coming up. I know.
Danielle
It's really creeping up.
Brooke
Think about, like, my wardrobe and, like, efficiently and stuff. I think you do, like, a capsule wardrobe situation. Being so serious. Like, I'm gonna probably shop on Quince and get. I did this for Italy and I got a lot of, like, mix and match pieces.
Delaney
Totally.
Brooke
Like, long skirt, like, you know, and just different types of tops. Because you kind of, like, configure.
Delaney
Yeah.
Brooke
Because I think that they dress very, like, practically, it seems.
Delaney
Right.
Brooke
Like, it's like layers. Yeah. It will be like 50s, I think, when I'm there. Yeah. Yes. Maybe a little warmer, A little colder, depending on.
Danielle
Yeah, yeah.
Delaney
So for fun.
Brooke
I know. So I'm kind of here for it. And then they say that you shop so much that you. So, like, I don't want to overpack because I'm going to be like, collecting things as I go.
Danielle
Right. I know. I want to do a lot of shopping in Japan. Sounds like that's like a big thing there. And apparently you can get a lot of, like, the tax free stuff. Our nail tech was telling me, like, you should talk to them next time you go. They were giving me all the tips.
Delaney
I can't believe you're both going to Japan.
Brooke
I know.
Delaney
Different times.
Danielle
I know, I know.
Brooke
And it'll be warmer when you guys go.
Danielle
It'll be very warm. It's gonna be. We're going in June and apparently it's gonna be so hot. But I'm like, is it gonna be hotter than New York is in June?
Delaney
Yeah. We're used to.
Danielle
I think I'm used to it. I also grew up in Florida and the humidity, like, I. I think I got it.
Brooke
Yeah.
Danielle
I'm so on Japan. Tick tock and like, Instagram. Are you.
Brooke
Yeah.
Danielle
For sure. Planning.
Brooke
Yeah. Yeah, that's what they call it. Yes. Yes. They're like POV or Japaning. Like, and it's.
Delaney
Yeah.
Brooke
The slideshows and the. Yeah.
Danielle
Well, because everyone says you go to Japan and then you just want to keep going back. You don't want to go anywhere else. Like, there's so much to do. The culture's so amazing. Like, I'm really excited for both of us to experience this.
Brooke
I'm really excited. Yeah. Have you figured out, like, I mean, I know the food situation, like, you'll be fine.
Danielle
Like, you'll figure out, oh, the seafood of it all.
Brooke
Are you. Are you willing to try? Like, do you think, like, you Know you. Like, if.
Danielle
If I didn't think about it, like.
Brooke
If the right thing came along, like, and it was like, this is the best bite ever. Like, would you be willing to try?
Danielle
Probably. If it was like, this doesn't taste fishy. Like, yeah, sure.
Delaney
Tastes like chicken.
Danielle
It tastes like chicken, but it works out because I'm going with another fellow Land Clubber who doesn't eat seafood. So we have each other.
Brooke
No, that's fair.
Danielle
But, yeah, no, I'll. I'll give her experience.
Delaney
When in Japan.
Danielle
When in Japan. I know.
Brooke
I feel that way too. I'm not. I'm, like, not like a crazy adventurous eater, but at the same time, I'm like, I'm going into this. Like, I just need to be like, go full circle.
Danielle
You kind of do eat a lot.
Brooke
I'll. I'll eat enough.
Delaney
Like.
Brooke
Like the tuna and stuff. I feel like I don't go too crazy normally with, like, the raw fishes and whatnot, but I love ramen. I'm so excited for, like, all the food.
Delaney
Oh, my God. Yeah. You're an adventurous eater. You said you had shuka for breakfast.
Brooke
Yeah, yeah.
Danielle
Like, that sounds like I had toast. You're low key. Like, kind of picky, like me in ways.
Delaney
Yeah. I'll do the seafood stuff.
Brooke
Oh, so you'll do.
Delaney
But, yeah, the more simple palette. Yeah. I love lobster.
Danielle
That's why we were such good roommates. We would just get excited about the same meals that some people would be like. There's nothing to that.
Delaney
Like, like, taco bowls again.
Danielle
Yeah, taco bowls again. We had, like, a rotation of, like, four things, and we just go to Trader Joe's.
Delaney
Chicken piccata.
Danielle
Chicken piccata. Oh, that was a good one.
Delaney
That was a good one.
Danielle
How.
Brooke
What's the.
Danielle
It was her mom's recipe. It was so good.
Delaney
Yeah, I don't. It's so funny. I don't cook a lot here at all. If I do, it's like, literally. Pasta, red sauce.
Danielle
Do you cook with your roommate?
Delaney
Yeah, more so he'll cook and, like, I'll eat it.
Danielle
Oh, nice.
Delaney
Our kitchen's so small. It's, like, not a fun experience to cook.
Danielle
It's not enjoyable. No, that's also so fair. It's like, there's no area to, like, prepare the staging area.
Delaney
There's no staging area. So it's the simplest way, is the.
Danielle
Way we say that. Because Delaney's mom has these Oscar parties and she has, like, a staging room. And so we'll go sneak into the staging area and have a snack.
Delaney
She'll turn our garage into the staging room. She has all, like, the caterers just put their stuff out there.
Brooke
Oh, it's backstage.
Danielle
Literally.
Delaney
Literally backstage. Like, we're hungry. Let's go to the staging room.
Danielle
We guys. Speaking of parties and moms, I decided to throw my mom a party for her 60th birthday.
Delaney
We're just like, 60. You have to know.
Danielle
60. Yeah. It's so. It's been so fun planning, Like, I always had plans to go home for her birthday. And you know how people are like, I don't really want to do anything. But then she was like, oh, like, maybe we could do something. I'm like, I'm flying home. Like, let's do something. But then it kind of sounded like maybe she wanted to do a dinner or something like that. And then the other day we're talking, she was like, yes. So I have a list of 60 people for 60 years old. I'm like, okay, so we're going full on. We found a venue. Dj. Like, we are doing it up. She's doing a theme. I was like, should you do a theme? And she was like, I've got it shining into the 60s. You would think, oh, but she did. That's just like. Like how with bachelorettes, I would say overarching theme, underlying music plot.
Brooke
You guys have to see it to understand.
Danielle
No, no, I. You're good at explaining.
Brooke
Yeah. There's a subplot.
Danielle
Subplot option to add on color theme. So shining into the 60s will be, like, on the invitation. But then her birthstone is aquamarine, and she has, like, blue eyes and she loves wearing blue. So I think we're going to make everyone wear, like, blue.
Delaney
Cute.
Danielle
So I'm excited.
Delaney
I love that casual, though, or.
Danielle
Yeah, good question. Probably should look into that. I mean, all of her friends are like. She calls over from the goddesses, so I feel like they're all gonna, like, wear flowy, like, that's so cute. Gauzy, pretty things.
Delaney
You have to go out for 60. My parents always do fives and zeros.
Danielle
For birthdays, like, every five years, basically.
Delaney
60. 65. Exactly.
Danielle
That's so cute.
Delaney
Yeah, they go big for those.
Danielle
I think it's fun, too. Like, why not? And. And I feel like it'll just be really special. So it's actually coming up quite soon. And now her friends are texting me, like, let me know how I can help. I'm like, I literally feel like I'm planning someone's, like, surprise engagement.
Delaney
I was Gonna say, are you planning everything, or is she.
Danielle
Yeah, I. Yeah, I'm like, I don't.
Delaney
Catering.
Danielle
It's gonna be Italian food, so. No, but the venue has been really helpful. Like, she told me, like, this brewery, that is, like, a cool vibe. And, yeah, I'm just kind of running with it, but I'm having a lot of fun. Oh, my God, I'm so excited. Well, because she just. Like, her dad just passed away, and I feel like she's just been down in the dumps. Like, there's just been a lot going on, and so she was just like. You know what I'm saying? And I was like, let's have something to celebrate. So it's been really fun. So updates to come on how the shining into the 60s shows. But I just, like, love her attitude. Like, her friends were like, I love Michelle's attitude about it. Like, I'm so not excited to turn 60. And my mom's like, I'm shining into the 60s. Like, it's such a good thing to look forward to. Like, aging is actually a beautiful, beautiful thing.
Brooke
Totally. No, I've been seeing a lot of that, like, vocabulary recently. Like, aging is a privilege. I feel like I didn't really understand it until, like, I did understand it one day. Like, I feel like I used to see that be like, okay, sure, like, yeah, it's a privilege. But when you sit back and, like, actually think about it, you're like, no, like, the. You know, some people don't.
Delaney
Some people don't. Like.
Danielle
Yeah, so true.
Brooke
Which is like, a dark. That's dark, but it's also, like, light, I guess, in the way of, like.
Delaney
No, it is.
Brooke
It really is. Yeah. I mean, celebrate. I'm getting my wrinkle shot up. But don't worry about me. I mean, it's a privilege.
Danielle
And I'm gonna fix it.
Brooke
Yeah, no, you could still. It still is a privilege, even when.
Danielle
Ages, but a number. You're a little young. And over here, how.
Delaney
I'm not that young.
Danielle
No, I just always. I feel like I. I mean, you're almost a year younger than me.
Delaney
Yeah, I'm 26. 27 in June. I think I'm the youngest in our friend. College friend group for sure. Yeah, I'll take it. I'll be the young one. I still got a few more years.
Danielle
No. Yeah. Now it's not. It was more so when we were, like, turning 21.
Delaney
I know it did suck to be the last one. Now I'm like, I'll stay young.
Danielle
Yeah. Now just like, you can all age for me. Like, I remember when I was 24 and I thought I was. I don't want to. Like, I did feel kind of old, and people were like, you're literally 24. Like, enjoy. Oh, wow. I literally was 24.
Delaney
And now 24. Feels 18 to me.
Danielle
Like, totally.
Brooke
Yep.
Delaney
We have our interns at work, and I'm like, they feel like a totally different generation than me.
Danielle
Yeah.
Delaney
Just the way they talk. So different.
Brooke
Totally.
Danielle
It is so interesting.
Brooke
There's a lot that happens in these few years, though. Like, I will say, I feel like it's the greatest. Like, jump in, like, maturity and, like, do you feel that way? I. I feel like, me at 23, I'm like, she was an idiot. Like, you know, like, I don't know if you ever. Like, I don't know if you guys feel that way. No, I feel like there's so much I needed to experience. Like, to be moving here helped me.
Delaney
Like, mature certain age.
Brooke
Yeah.
Delaney
Because I still. I mean, I lived at home. I was in college and I lived at home. So, yeah, moving here, I was like, oh, wow, I'm on my own. I gotta grow up.
Danielle
Yeah. No, I. I feel like I even talked about on the podcast, like, after the holidays and stuff. Like, I've had a couple, like, mindset shifts, and like, finally, like, I don't know, there's just, like, a few things that come into fruition. You're like, okay, like, I'm not four years old anymore. Like, okay, I do. You know, it's starting for me now, so maybe, you know.
Delaney
Yeah.
Danielle
You'Re much, much younger.
Brooke
Yes.
Danielle
Yes.
Brooke
And I'm much, much older. And I have to tell you, aging is a privilege.
Danielle
It's wise words.
Brooke
Yeah.
Danielle
I mean, I feel like, Brooke, like, I. I see you every day, so I don't think anything of it, but when you show photos of, like, even you two years ago, I'm like, wow, you. Every year, you just look better and better.
Delaney
Oh, my damn. Wow.
Brooke
Thank you.
Danielle
Tell Brooks she looks good here.
Brooke
Oh, my God, thank you. That's so nice of you. I actually do feel that way. I feel like I used to think, like, oh, no, you look the best when you're, like, 22 or whatever it is. But I actually see pictures of, like, even celebrities like Mara Higgins in I Saw that. And I.
Delaney
Her.
Brooke
I mean, her glow up. But I also look at her on the screen, I'm like, this is the most attractive woman I've ever seen in my entire life. And she's 33, I think so. I'm just like, wow, there's so much.
Delaney
To look forward to.
Brooke
I see stuff like that. I'm like, wow, that is awesome. I feel like. Like, the people who I look at, I'm like, wow. They're, like, in my eyes.
Delaney
Perfect.
Brooke
Which one's perfect? Like. Like 35, 37. Like, I feel you come into the older you get. Like, you also, like, come into your own body. Yes. And I do believe in that.
Danielle
It's almost like how we talk about the building. The building settles. It's like your body.
Brooke
You're so right, though. I do feel like everything kind of like, comes into place. Like, I feel like in college, I felt like a baby face, and I was like, you know, just probably really puffy all the time from all the drinking, honestly. But, like, you know, I. I felt.
Delaney
Either way, it's just maturity, too. Like, even in college, I look back, I'm like, why did I dress up that way?
Brooke
Like, oh, yeah, that's growth.
Delaney
That's growth.
Danielle
It was for the times, you know?
Delaney
I know.
Danielle
Like, it's so hard to. I mean, it's terrifying to me that, like, here I am wearing, like, a python jacket. In two years, I could be like, what was she wearing?
Brooke
I. I feel like I do that sometimes with outfits from six months ago, and then sometimes I'll see pictures from, like, three years ago, and I'm like, good look, like, kind of cross. It depends on, like, what it is. Yeah. Or some things that, like, I thought would maybe make me feel cringe. I'm like, wow, I was ahead of the times. So maybe I'll look back and be.
Danielle
Like, yeah, maybe, but kind of a rogue outfit choice. I was trying to think of, like, an outfit that I could wear to podcast, but also, like, go to event, you know?
Brooke
Yeah, you're on the go.
Delaney
I mean, Brooke walked in, I was.
Brooke
Like, with a fur coat.
Delaney
You look fabulous. Wow.
Brooke
Thank you. It's a. It's a thick fur coat. Like, it's really not slimming in any way. Like, but I feel like I removed the fur coat, and then people are like, oh, know you a figure?
Delaney
Like, it's kind of like, that's me with my puffer jacket illusion.
Brooke
Yeah. But it's, like, fun to be like, wait till you see what's on.
Danielle
Wait. It's like a magic trip to these. Wait. Totally. Nothing to do with anything. But, Brooke, you just got. You went to. On a trip with Ben. Club Med. I've been really trying to hone in on, like, what My style is, and I really do feel like, besides the occasional, you know, festival outfits and, you know, vacation outfits, whatever, like, my everyday style is elevated essentials. And Quince is all about elevated essentials that feel effortless. Designed for layering and mixing, each piece helps build a timeless wardrobe made to last with versatile silhouettes and thoughtful details to the kind of styles you wear again and again. Brooke and I have been talking because we're both going to Japan this year. And we were like, honestly, Quince is a good place to shop because you kind of need a capsule wardrobe. And they've got the wardrobe staples with quality that's made to last 100%. Organic cotton sweaters, premium denim with stretch for all day comfort. They have luxe cotton cashmere blends perfect for, like, those changing seasons. Everything you need for a wardrobe that actually lasts. And Quince works directly with safe, ethical factories and cuts out the middleman. So you're not paying for brand markup, just high quality clothing. Quince uses the highest quality materials as we know. They've got got that 100% European linen and organic cotton. And everything is built up to hold season after season, like the stitching, the fit, the fabrics. These are pieces you'll reach for over and over. I have an amazing cashmere sweater that I use every single year, usually in the spring and fall, kind of like those transitional seasons we're talking about. I actually use it in the summer a lot too, like when we go to Nantucket and stuff. It's a great little sweater. I absolutely love it.
Brooke
So.
Danielle
So refresh your wardrobe with quince. Go to quince.comgals for free shipping on your order and 365 day returns now available in Canada too. That's Q-U-I-N C-E.comgals to get free shipping and 365 day returns. Quint.comgals, you have to tell the story. What happened? Yeah, I will tell this and give Delaney a little back.
Brooke
Okay. Okay. So two weeks ago now on the podcast, I was telling Danielle about how I was going on this trip to Club Medicine. And I was like, oh, I'm going on a trip. You know, Club Med. I don't know, for a few nights. Yeah. But we kept it really vague. Like I was like, I'm going to Club Med. Like, should be a nice, like, getaway. And then Danielle goes, oh, my gosh, my dad loves Club Med. And I was like, oh. And then we made a joke about Pops and. Yeah. And we dropped it. And then I Was posting, like at Club Mad, like, tagging the location and everything. But I. I guess, where is it? So it's a chain. Like, there's a.
Danielle
It's like sandals.
Delaney
You didn't say where it is though.
Brooke
I didn't say where it is. I didn't give any further information as to, like, what it is. Whatever. Yeah. And a girl, like, I'm on, like the last day of the trip now. Like, I've been posting, I've been tagging it, whatever. And a girl replies to my story and she goes the way that. I fully thought that Club Med was like a medical conference.
Delaney
Honestly, that is where my mind went. We said Club Med. I'm like, what? Why would she go there?
Danielle
My dad used to go, no, really?
Brooke
And she was like, and I'm a nurse. And I was asking the doctors all day, like, have you guys how do.
Delaney
I go to Club Med? And like, they were like, no.
Brooke
And Club Med, it stands for Club Mediterranean. Like, it's a, it's a, it's a just a chain of all inclusives that are literally everywhere. This one happened to be in Dominican Republic, like in the beach, countryside area, like an hour from Punta Cana. And it was, it was really nice. Also, a really funny thing about this trip. Not only was it not a med student retreat, it was anything but actually.
Danielle
Thought this whole time because my dad's always talked about Club Med. Like, so. So I literally thought the same thing. I didn't like, actually think it was medical, but I was like, maybe a lot of doctors like to go to club.
Brooke
Yeah, yeah. It's like tailored experiences for doctors.
Delaney
Yeah. Like Ben and your daughter, like, club.
Brooke
Yeah. They're like, club medicine.
Delaney
Yeah. Like, I just know what I'm talking about.
Danielle
Anyway.
Brooke
No, it's really funny. But their primary language there, like, because I guess the chain as a whole, like, is French. So everyone came up to me speaking French, like, other, like, patrons on, like. And I was like, wow, do I give French? Like, I kind of was like, oh, this is awesome. Like, a woman comes and I can't even, like, try to replicate it. But she was like, you know what I mean? Like, going off. And I just was like, hello. Like, hello.
Danielle
But at first did you think, like, oh, I'm just giving French?
Brooke
Yeah. First I was like, oh, okay. Like, they think that, I think. And then it started happening, like, many, many times. And then I realized like, oh, no, that's like what they.
Danielle
That's the first, you know, the primary language.
Brooke
Primary pick up any language. No, no, I Didn't pick up. But then I use Spanish there because, like, that's another one. It would say on their name tag, like what they. What country they're from, what they spoke, like flags representing, like, what they would, you know, speak. So I tried my Spanish as very rusty, you know, I was like, donde esta?
Delaney
Like, they're like, okay.
Brooke
It is fun.
Danielle
Exercise that muscle in your brain.
Brooke
Yeah, it is. It's really. It's really cute seeing, like little kids, like, speaking French. Like, I'm like. I was like, oh, my God. They're just.
Danielle
Yeah, I don't know any French, like, at all.
Brooke
Yeah, it was a real all inclusive. Like there was kids and stuff, like, still running around. But it was fun. It was a nice, like, warm weather of a treat.
Delaney
I know.
Danielle
And we're getting weather closer and closer to finding out where Ben's going to medical school. Oh, my God, I'm so excited.
Delaney
What's the countdown?
Brooke
It's on March 20th. What? What's today? When this goes up? This is like, it's like a month out, right?
Danielle
A month out, baby. Can't wait. Suspense.
Brooke
I know, I know.
Danielle
I can talk circles about it.
Brooke
No, I've just let go. Like, that's.
Danielle
You really have.
Brooke
Like, I'm so, like, Jill. Like, you guys know, like, I'm just literally.
Delaney
Wow, you're so chill, Brooke.
Danielle
I guess it's like you've come to the point where you're like, I love let go and let go. There's nothing.
Brooke
No, there's literally nothing I can do or say. Like, there's. You know what I mean? So I feel like you get to.
Danielle
A point where do you know what you're gonna wear on match day? Not to make it all about you.
Brooke
Not to make it all about me. But I, I, you know, thing. I need to start thinking about the outfits because I feel like. Yeah. Because I look back, like at the white coat pictures, like, frequently. So I'm like, I want to make sure that it's like an outfit that I'm not like, why did you wear this? You know what I mean? Because that's gonna be like a framed photo.
Danielle
That would be a big one, you.
Brooke
Know, So I feel like I played safe. I feel like I don't do any, like, classy. Yes. Nothing. Like I don't need to go for like my. My biggest look of the year. You know, it can be like a.
Danielle
Silhouette you really feel comfortable in.
Brooke
Yeah, yeah.
Danielle
Something good vibes. And then you'll hopefully throw a party.
Brooke
So much to look Forward to. I can't wait to see my calendar. I can't wait to see what happens.
Delaney
It's in your calendar.
Danielle
It's in my calendar. Because I was like, I'm not missing.
Delaney
Missing this.
Brooke
Yeah.
Delaney
Oh, my gosh.
Danielle
And it is my half birthday. I think I already told you. Oh. So not to make it.
Brooke
Not to make it me about Ben's venom.
Danielle
That's easy to remember. Should I say?
Brooke
Because I love a half birthday.
Danielle
Why not? I heard someone was telling me the other day that their birthdays around the holidays so they just celebrate their half birthday with their friends because no one's available to celebrate their birthday. So they're like, I just celebrate my half birthday.
Brooke
That's just. Doesn't hit the same.
Danielle
It does not.
Brooke
But I was like, for you.
Delaney
My mom does text me on my half birthday every year.
Danielle
Really?
Delaney
Yeah. I wouldn't say we, like, do anything for my half birthday.
Danielle
Is yours like November?
Delaney
December.
Danielle
December 16th.
Delaney
Yeah. Wow.
Danielle
Wow.
Brooke
Have you guys been seeing all the stuff on Tik Tok about, like, the Year of the Snake and it's shedding and the. Yes.
Danielle
I'm. I'm so ready for the Year of the Horse.
Brooke
So do you know enough about it? Like, I feel like I just saw, like, everybody, like, it's coming to an end. Like, be ready and then, like, the next nine days are apparently gonna be really significant. Have you seen stuff?
Danielle
Yeah, I don't. That part I'm not understanding, I guess. Yeah. Like, now we're in the. In between. And then February 17th, I believe is the day the year of the Horse begins.
Delaney
And what does the horse represent?
Danielle
The horse is, like, about amazing transformation and, like, succeeding and, like, all these amazing things. And the Year of the Snake is about, like, shedding things that don't serve you. And just, like. Honestly, I don't know my family personally, we just had so much shitty things happen the last few months. So my mom's been really like, it's the Year of the Snake. You know, we need to shut it. And Year of the Horse is coming soon. So I'm just, like, ready for the.
Brooke
Year of the Horse.
Delaney
Ready for the horse. Even though I'm.
Danielle
Let me shed off the Earth snake, but. Yeah, but I know I didn't see that.
Brooke
No, I'm. I Sometimes I randomly end up on, like, you know, I mean, it's not zodiac.
Danielle
It's the lunar New Year.
Brooke
The Lunar New Year calendar, which. But I feel like I watch one Tik Tok about. I'm like, I'm an Expert now.
Delaney
No, I don't know anything about that.
Danielle
That it's. I need to look into it more tonight because I didn't know this, like, in. I knew there was some sort of in between.
Delaney
So there's no animal right now.
Danielle
But I still feel like I'm in here, the snake. So I'm like, come on, horsey, giddy up. Do you guys know I was born in the year of the tiger? Do you guys know?
Brooke
No, but I mean, look it up.
Danielle
Do a search. So if you're the.
Brooke
I don't know. I don't think I was hoarse, but.
Danielle
I feel like, look up, like, your year. And then.
Brooke
Because when it's your. Like, if you are, like, we're coming into a horse year, and if you were born in a horse year, like, apparently it's, like, significant for you, right?
Danielle
Like, makes good for my mom. She was born a year of the horse on his 60th birthday.
Brooke
I'm the year of the ox.
Delaney
Can you look up 1999?
Brooke
Yes, of course. Year of the Ox for Brookie, 1999. You're the rabbit.
Danielle
Ooh, that leg track.
Delaney
That's cute.
Brooke
Yeah.
Danielle
You're like a little rabbit, Rabbit, rabbit, rabbit. You always. Have you heard of this rabbit, rabbit thing? Her family does it on the 1st of every month.
Delaney
You say rabbit, rabbit for good luck for the rest of the month. But now we have made it a competition. So, like, at midnight on 1st, the whole family, like, runs to the group chat to see who can say it first. And it's normally my brother beating me, and me going, really? Yeah. The few times I beat him, he gets so pissed.
Brooke
I love a good, like, good, friendly competition and a good luck.
Delaney
I know.
Brooke
I'm into that.
Delaney
Remember, to rabbit. Rabbit friends.
Danielle
I think Kit Keenan posted about it. I think she does rabbit. It is a thing.
Delaney
Danny Pogue does it. She always texts me on the first.
Brooke
Oh, I know.
Danielle
I. I like it. It's just making those small little moments. You know what I actually started doing? I saw this girl did it on Tick Tock, and I immediately started. She started a list on her phone, our notes app, and it's called Something Good Always Happens to Me. Or Everything happens. Something, Whatever. Something like that. And so every day, you're kind of, like, looking for something good. So you can write it down. So I've started writing down, like, just the little things. Like, the other day, my mom's boyfriend told me, he was like, you know, you're, like, really funny. I don't think you realize. And that went Right on my nose. I was like. He was like, you're just, like, kind of sharp sometimes with that. I don't think you realize. I was like, I needed to hear.
Delaney
I agree with him. Yeah, I don't think you realize it either. You're so funny.
Danielle
That's really kind. Thank you. So I, like, wrote that just like, it's, it's. Instead of like, oh, something bad's gonna happen to me today, you're looking for that thing to write down on your list.
Delaney
Totally.
Brooke
I like that mentality.
Delaney
Right?
Brooke
Yeah.
Danielle
I mean, it's so simple, and we always talk about stuff like that, but I, I don't know. I've just been looking for those positives. I have to figure out what mine today is.
Brooke
Your positive thing?
Danielle
Yeah. I mean, there's so many fun, positive things.
Brooke
But on that note, I'm trying to get more organized with just everything in my life. Like, I realized, like, I, like, need to get better by, like, tracking. I track my income in the sense of, like, taxes, but, like, I just feel very disorganized, like, in terms of, like, my files. Like, I feel like my parents had files.
Danielle
You know what I mean?
Brooke
Let me look that up.
Delaney
Yeah. Like, yeah.
Brooke
And I, I'm a mess. Like, I, I just feel like I, I don't have a printer, and I think that that's my first problem.
Delaney
Okay. You want physical documentation.
Brooke
I, I, that's what I grew up with. You know, I'm a 1997 girl. What can I say?
Danielle
Or you could do like, a Google Drive. Like, Brooke. Yeah. Like my life things files on there. No, I know. I'm the same way. Like, I just search in my, in my computer, hoping it's there. I'm like, W9. Like, I just hope I have it there.
Brooke
I have, like, my tax forms, like, my passport, like, those things scanned in. But I feel like, like there's just other, like, niche documents that I'm like, I feel like I should, you know, have a copy of. Like, I don't like, in my car. Paperwork and stuff, like, on hand.
Danielle
Like, that could be a fun little cold weather goal.
Brooke
Little.
Delaney
I'm realizing I don't really have that kind of documentation either.
Danielle
Did you ever do an admin night or do you just have the list going?
Delaney
I literally keep adding to the list.
Brooke
You know, I'm. I'm intrigued by this concept.
Delaney
Yeah, I think it's so fun. Like, let's all get together and drink some wine and get things done. Get things done. I literally have a list. It's like book flights to book rats.
Danielle
Rabbit. Rabbit. Well, this was so much fun, Delaney. Thank you so much for coming on here and just chatting, for having me. Just felt like you were the third gal. Like, so, so effortless. We honestly, this podcast, we just wanted to be something where people can listen and maybe it takes your mind off things for the day and I think.
Delaney
We did just that. You guys are so good at that.
Brooke
No, people really love you. I'm so serious. Like, I feel like whenever you're like, in some, like.
Delaney
Delaney.
Danielle
Delaney. Tell Delaney she looks good here.
Brooke
Like the gals, but Delaney.
Danielle
Yeah. Delaney.
Delaney
My ego.
Danielle
No. Yeah. Sometimes you need a little ego boost.
Delaney
Yeah. Honestly. Give it to me.
Brooke
Give it to.
Danielle
Give it to me. Well, where can everyone find you if they want to give you a follow?
Delaney
Oh, Instagram at Delaney Free. I have a tik tok, but I.
Danielle
Don'T really post like, Instagram's like. Yeah, you know, if you want to keep up, you post some. You've been. This maybe will motivate you to post more dumps. She does solid.
Brooke
I know.
Delaney
I've been trying. I go through spurts of, like, stories. I'm really good at them. And then two weeks I'm off. But I'm trying to get back into it this year.
Danielle
I've been enjoying the dumps.
Delaney
You're the horse.
Danielle
You're the horse.
Brooke
Back on it.
