Welcome back to Gals in the Go podcast. I'm Danielle.
Brooke
I'm Brooke. And Happy Wednesday.
Danielle
Happy Wednesday. We're here for another good old Gals episode for you. We have so much to talk about. Like, literally, we were like on our way to the podcast and we had so much fun to talk about. We were like, no, no, hold it in. Like, I was chomping at the bit.
Brooke
I know we, we did a preliminary facetime, but we were like, wait. I'll tell you that. This is the life of a podcaster, guys.
Hayden
You have to save your.
Brooke
Your valuable content. I think actually we talk less because we podcast together because we want to save the live reaction. I know. Nothing hits like, you know, we're theater gals. We can't like fake reaction.
Danielle
I know. Like, it's so fun to so catch you off guard. Surprise, surprise. It's fun to just see the reactions. It's. It's very fun. Someone said in one of our tik toks that they know it's about to go down when you say Danielle. Like if you say my name before saying yeah, yeah, yeah, which is always.
Brooke
Cuz we're real with each other. But like we also justify all of the other person's actions. So when I hit you with the Daniel.
Danielle
Oh yeah. I just hit.
Brooke
Yeah. You felt that to your core.
Danielle
I felt that. That's when you knew I was going.
Brooke
To get real teacher getting you in trouble.
Danielle
No, seriously.
Brooke
Called to the principal's office. Do you ever get called?
Danielle
Oh no, we didn't like have intercoms like that.
Brooke
You didn't have intercoms?
Danielle
No. It's stupid. No, no.
Brooke
How did you get announcements?
Danielle
We had convocation every morning, so.
Brooke
With the entire school.
Danielle
Yeah, but my school was smaller than yours. Like I went to a private school.
Brooke
Yeah.
Danielle
No, so it was like every morning the announcements happened at convocation. We had to wear our blazers. It was like. Yeah. So you would just be. They'd say like Brooke Michio to the principal office.
Brooke
Not. High school is a little too big for that. So then they would like, you know, look up your schedule, like see what class you're in. But like. Yeah. And like when it was smaller, it would be like.
Danielle
Yeah, yeah, that makes sense.
Brooke
Or if they were like looking for someone, you know, like when someone like maybe they went to like their first class of the day, but not the others. It's like, did they cut. Like where are they. Are they hanging? The commons. We like this big area that was called the commons where people would just cut class and just sit there. I'm like, like, you're just sitting here. Like at least leave.
Danielle
They're gonna find you. Yeah, like you dummy.
Brooke
Come on. Hide and go seek.
Danielle
Like that is really funny. Well, did you ever go to the principal's office?
Brooke
Only for good things. Really?
Danielle
Hell yeah.
Brooke
Yeah, you know, like they want to give me an award or something.
Danielle
Like really want you. No, literally, I think same.
Brooke
Or they needed me to like do a favor. They're like, we need you to, you know.
Danielle
Yeah.
Brooke
Speak at the club fair or whatever. The.
Danielle
It is a favor. Can you post? No, no, it's.
Brooke
It's always running in the favors, but always running. But it was worth it.
Danielle
It's fine. No. That's a funny thing to talk about though.
Brooke
It's worth it.
Danielle
High school Lore. Okay. We literally have so much to talk about, so we'll stay on track. Let's start with our favorites of the week. Because. Because we have things that we want to tell everyone that we're loving.
Brooke
We do. What are you watching these days? Is it. Is it a show? Is it.
Danielle
No, it's not a show. Even though I'm watching so much tv. But like, honestly, I feel like we're both watching a lot of tv. Like, we need. We need to like, do a whole, like, video episode.
Brooke
It's hard because it's not in real time. So like, we talk about the show that happened three weeks ago.
Danielle
Like, yeah, yeah, so. But I am loving a pair of shorts, which I don't wear shorts a lot, but you probably have these shorts. I feel like all the girlies have these shorts. The free people, the FP movement. Carpe DM shorts.
Brooke
Love them.
Danielle
Oh my God, how cute are they?
Brooke
No, it's my ideal short. Cuz it really snatches you in on the top.
Danielle
Yeah.
Brooke
And they flare out on the bottom in a way that I just feel like it's giving legs.
Danielle
Like, giving legs that I don't have. Like, I love these shorts so much. I was helping, which we'll get into. But Ryan moved in with me this past weekend, so I needed to put on an outfit. It's also extremely hot in New York City right now. Like, extreme heat warnings are in effect.
Brooke
Like, we're talking three. Three numbers?
Danielle
Yeah, like three digits. Three digits, three digit temperatures. So sometimes even leggings are too hot. So I put on these carpe diem shorts. I have them in like this reddish coral color, and I feel like I can take on the world. And I'm. They're good moving shorts. They're good like for going for a walk. They don't like, give me weird wedgies or chafes or anything because sometimes that happens. They actually stay where they need to be. And like you said, they flow out perfectly. So we'll have them on our gals in the Go ltk, which is always linked down below by the way. We literally link our outfits every week and anything we talk about. So carpe diem shorts. What are you loving?
Brooke
Also, all of that. I can ditto that. All of us, you know, we used to do that in our sorority, like whenever people would give announcements and you like with it, like, and it was.
Danielle
Like, it was a finger gun. We always did finger guns.
Brooke
Like, why the did we do that?
Danielle
I don't know. But I catch myself still doing it if I don't want to interrupt someone. Like, literally retreat.
Brooke
Like I said, like, in a group chat, I would say rt or I would emphasize the message. But in person, I.
Danielle
Maybe it's not. I don't know. We just did this, like, it was.
Brooke
Like a three fingers. I don't really know what it means. Yeah.
Danielle
So be careful. Yeah.
Brooke
No, I. I was at another. In other sororities.
Danielle
I wonder, like a. Yeah, it was like a ditto. Same.
Brooke
Yeah.
Danielle
Instead of, like, talking up, it's just all of a sudden, you see all these hands around you. You're like, oh.
Brooke
It would also be like when people. Like when upperclassmen were yelling at the younger class.
Danielle
That's what I mean. Yeah.
Brooke
Like, it would be like. And guys, if you're gonna drink the punch, make sure you only have a few glasses, because if you get too drunk, you're gonna act like idiots. And then all the, like, seniors would be like, no.
Danielle
I remember I would look over at people, girls in your grade, and they'd be like, yeah. Like, oh, my God, I'm so scared. They're literally friends with Brooke, because Brooke and I were in the same sorority, but she was two years above me. So, like, there was some of that. You know, everyone was so nice. But. No, I know I'm intimidated.
Brooke
You're always intimidated by the.
Danielle
The older girls in the sorority, no matter what.
Brooke
Yeah, always.
Danielle
So what are you dittoing?
Brooke
What am I doing? Free people. Well, they're worth my favorite. But I just want to say free people shorts in general. Like, those are a great cop, but, like, all of them are just like, you know, if. The modern version of Nike shorts.
Danielle
Yes.
Brooke
So if you. If you were a Nike short girl, this is.
Danielle
Are girls still wearing Nike shorts and T shirts in college? I feel like, no.
Brooke
What do they wear?
Danielle
Maybe they're wearing the carpe diem with, like, a slim tank.
Brooke
They wear park.
Danielle
I know they wear park. They wear the.
Brooke
You can't wear a sweatshirt every day. You're gonna die. Like, no.
Danielle
I wonder what they wear. Maybe they wear, like, onesies and, like, what. They're. Oh, I don't know. What do the girls wear in college?
Brooke
Like, when you're just going to class? Not, like, going out vibes. I feel like going out vibes are still kind of the same.
Danielle
I feel like going out. Yes. Like, you have your going out top and some jeans, and I feel like college. You definitely go sneakers.
Brooke
I feel like it's still black top and jeans in college. Like, a lot of the time. No, of Course, that's what I'm saying. Like it never really. It stays the same.
Danielle
It's so true. So we're gonna clip this and comment down below it. What you guys wear in college right now, like, to class.
Brooke
Tbt. I still am dressing like I'm going to class.
Danielle
Yeah.
Brooke
Honestly.
Danielle
No, same like errands. Like, it's like. It's just like the sorority girl in you.
Brooke
Totally. No, I love it.
Danielle
I've like upsized.
Brooke
Like. Okay, maybe I'll wear like a different shoe.
Danielle
Yeah, it's like, okay, maybe I won't wear my hokas. I'll wear like a. Cool. A ballet flat or. Oh, yes.
Brooke
Okay. My favorite Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders. Season two, baby. America's Sweethearts, I think is the name of it. So it's on Netflix. I. You must live under a rock if you haven't heard of it. I mean, I would assume. Yeah. Did you watch the whole.
Danielle
The second season. But like, I'm aware.
Brooke
Did you watch the first season?
Danielle
No.
Brooke
Danielle, this is literally your show. Like, you think you like dance.
Danielle
I do love dance.
Brooke
It's all dance.
Danielle
I'll give it a go. You got me.
Brooke
It's not classic Go Chew. Like, they're all classically trained dancers.
Danielle
Yeah, that's true. Sometimes those shows make me sad.
Brooke
Cuz you miss dance?
Danielle
No, no, not like that. Cuz I didn't like. I guess it's similar dance. Yes, it is more so like. Like, I didn't really watch Dance Moms and like stuff like that. It makes me like sad because don't they get like rejected and.
Brooke
Yeah, they do. And they follow along these girls and. But it's. And it definitely. There are parts that are sad. There's parts that are happy though.
Danielle
That's everything. I don't know why I draw the line.
Brooke
I feel like you watch some sadder shows.
Danielle
I definitely do. So. But you're liking it is the new season's better?
Brooke
I finished it.
Danielle
Oh, you're done.
Brooke
Which we'll get into. I've had a lot of time on my couch.
Danielle
Another bomb is being dropped.
Brooke
I can laugh about it now, but great show. It's just. I mean, season two. You have to watch season one to understand season two. If you really want the full context of like understanding the character arc.
Danielle
Is it the same people? Mainly new bombshells enter.
Brooke
No, there's new people because it's like. It's basically like you're. The first one is like you're like the first year on the team. The second year and one Is like year two, like it's falling a year on the team, mostly the auditions and like that process. But it follows mostly like we'll follow some of the senior, senior girls, like the fourth year, fifth year, sixth year. But really the new girls, like the ones that are trying out. Yeah, some of them make it, some of them don't. And then there's. I, I don't think this is a spoiler, but I guess if you guys haven't listened, you can fast forward a little bit ahead. Spoiler. Spoiler. Even though it's not. My thing with the spoilers with the show is it's, it airs in a year after it actually happened. Right?
Danielle
Yes. You know, so you, if you look.
Brooke
Up a picture of the squad, you see who's on the team.
Danielle
Yeah, that's true.
Brooke
You know.
Danielle
No, so it's like, it's, it's similar with like, there's other shows that are like, that's like, okay, well, yeah, they did end up getting married or they did. Like, yes.
Brooke
Like you can see it. It's not like it was under embargo or whatever. It's like, no, these girls, they post in real time. Like they're very much. I knew that. So this is the spoiler once again that Kelly and Charlie end up making the team. And they were season one. They don't make it and they make it really far and they're best friends. Then they were like, you know what? We're going to do it. Oh, my God, I literally could cry because the one girl, Kelly, like, she just, I mean, they both work so fudgeing hard. Charlie, like, literally got like sick and like, did through it, like, whatever. But Kelly, she like, she's from New Jersey and she just dedicated her life to it. She was like, I, I, I do it every single day. I do. Like, and she's gotten so much better. And like, she's put like, that's when I think of someone that like, truly has passion. I'm like, holy. Like, I, I don't know what that's like. Like, I don't know what that level of like, commitment to something is like.
Danielle
Doing, you know, that's so inspiring, honestly.
Brooke
And being. And it's hard after being rejected. Like, I'm, I'm a better person. I'd be like, you, I'm out of here. Like, you see ya.
Danielle
But there, you don't want me the first time, you don't get me the second.
Brooke
Which some of the girls do that. Like one girl from last year, Ariana, she then Went to be a Miami Dolphins cheerleader, and she's crushing it there. Like, she got cut, and then, like, she's there.
Danielle
She could literally be so fun.
Brooke
No. And you could literally do that anywhere. Like, if you're good enough to make it to the finals of the Dallas Cowboys, cheerleaders, like, you can pretty much go anywhere else.
Danielle
True. Because that's, like, the hardest. They say. Okay.
Brooke
And it's all about, like, the look, and it's so vain and stupid. Some of this stuff. I'm sorry. I'm cursing because it's just, like, some of it is so dumb. And it's a lot of, like, old ideas. A lot of it is. And it's. You would think that we could modernize a little bit.
Danielle
I know it's. It's crazy, but I guess that's what makes for good television.
Brooke
Yes. And they really just say, like, it is. I'm like, you do know Netflix is here, right?
Danielle
Yeah, this is in the building. Right.
Brooke
Just so you know. And they, like, make it, like, this whole thing, like, America's Sweethearts featured on Netflix. But I'm like, it's not. Not always a good. Not always a good look of the franchise.
Danielle
Yeah.
Brooke
They show the dark side of the franchise, too. They show how they were ridiculously underpaid. And then the girls, like, fought for more pay, and one girl who fought for more pay kind of got, like, villainized, and she, like, led the charge, and she was like, hey, like, we're criminally underpaid because if you do the hourly rate, like, they're getting paid, like, I want to say, below minimum wage or something like that. And it's like, these girls literally dedicate. They work four jobs just to do this one job. Because they love it so much.
Danielle
Yeah.
Brooke
And they have to come every day. They have to do their own hair and makeup. Every full glam. Every single day. They have to be. They're literally America Sweet. They have to be, like, you know, perfectly, like, womanly in terms of, like, America Sweethearts. America Sweethearts. They're working so hard. I think I might be sweating through my shirt. I just realized. Oh. Oh, wow. It's one of those.
Danielle
Not on that side, just on your right.
Brooke
Yeah. Well, we'll just air Michelle, what that.
Danielle
Means just on the right side more dominant. Like, actually is, like, literally a thing, really.
Brooke
If I sweat more on one time, I think.
Danielle
I don't know.
Brooke
I just felt myself. It's a really hot day, guys. Just please forgive me. This is good. Anyways.
Danielle
Good.
Brooke
If you haven't watched it. I really think you would like it. Like, the dance trials are legit dance. And I'm not a dancer at all. I don't have a dance background. I watch them. There's one girls that I've watched. What the heck is her name? I've watched it. Abby Summers. Watch her dance and now I'm like, to have this much control. Oh, and then she lifts weights and then they tell her they're like, your shoulders are too big. It made me so enraged. I was like, you do realize that the reason why she can do all these moves. And by the way, not a big woman. Like, let me tell you. Like, I can tell you, not a big woman. Like, yeah, she's just toned and like, you know, really, like, some of them have, like no muscle on them, you know, and you could just tell they're like, they're just dancing and like, it's just a ton of cardio and whatever. Some of them, you could tell, like, lift weights and like, do other things, you know, and they're all beautiful. There's no right or wrong. I'm just saying that, you know, they're different. But they told her, stop lifting weights. That's what the fuck.
Danielle
Like, it's also so important to lift weights and like, I know for like longevity.
Brooke
And it's literally how she can lift her body up off the ground.
Danielle
Like how she. Crazy moves that makes me so mad.
Brooke
No, but they are the villains. They're the, like the. The two. Kelly and Judy are like the. That would.
Danielle
Kelly and Judy.
Brooke
It so is.
Danielle
So should we learn the thunderstruck dance? Like, I do consume that content. Yeah, I think we should do this. We should make a whole thing.
Brooke
At least one part of it. The whole thing is a five minute routine, so unfortunately, with multiple kick lines, it's not going to work.
Danielle
But I think we pick the easiest part. We'll watch a tutorial while we're on Nantucket. I'm so down.
Brooke
I want to do the hair flip.
Danielle
The only reason I know that song. Did you ever play that drinking game?
Brooke
Yeah, of course.
Danielle
Yeah, like, yeah. Drink at thunder.
Brooke
I want to say it was on Guitar Hero too.
Danielle
Probably thunder. Oh, it gets you riled up. Honestly, it's a great. I guess I'll watch that.
Brooke
Yeah. No, you. I think you'll. I mean, it's hard because you just.
Danielle
Move, you know, I'm juggling a lot of shows, so you've got a busy week. I've got a busy week. No, seriously.
Hayden
With summer in full swing, I'm feeling that urge to refresh my closet. But I'm trying to, I'm trying really hard, guys, to not waste money on pieces that I'm only going to wear once or just for one season. And that's where Quince comes in. Their clothes are timeless. They feel luxurious. They look elevated. The quality is truly beyond anything you'd expect for the price. It's the wardrobe upgrade that just CL looks. We've been talking about quints for a while here on the show. I feel like both in ads and out of them because they are just truly that girl. Think 100 European linen tops starting at $30. Washable silk dresses and skirts, soft cotton sweaters. Just versatile pieces that you're going to reach for again and again. And the best part, in my opinion, is that everything with Quince is half the cost of similar brands.
Brooke
How do they do this?
Hayden
You might be like, what's the catch? Well, there is no catch because they're working directly with top artisans and cutting out the middlemen. So Quince is going to give you that luxury without the markup. So what am I loving from Quince right now? I am loving my bedding. I have the European linen bedding. It's just so chic. I love it so, so much. I have this, like, really gorgeous button up, button down, the washable silk. I love it for all seasons. I really like it. In the summer, I wear it with like a little skirt. It's super. So, so cute. The pants. If you need a good pair of linen pants, check out their linen pants, guys. You're going to love them for the summer. And you can give your summer closet an upgrade with quint. Go to quint.com gals for free shipping on your order and 365 day returns. That's Q-U-I-N-C-E.com gals to get free shipping and 365 day returns. Quince.com gals this message is brought to.

Brooke
Yeah, what are you panicking about?
Danielle
Okay, I have two, so I'll save one for next week.
Brooke
No, please, just get into it. Just. Just tell us.
Danielle
Okay, well, the first one's like a baby one. So I've been doing. Speaking of dance, there's this man child you've probably seen me posted a thousand times the line dance that someone created. I think it's so fun. It's on Tick tock. It's to the song by Sabrina Carpenter. Man, it's like five moves. I don't know why. What about this dance? It puts me in the best mood. So I was like, I need to start doing this dance every morning to start my day. It seriously has like, it's just brighten my day. While my coffee's being made, I just do the dance. Like today I was a little behind. I didn't do it until I was ready for the day. But either way, I've been loving it. So I've been posting it a couple times and yesterday I posted it and someone commented millennial style and I'm panicking. I'm like, what does that even mean, Millennial style? Like that I did it in a millen. So I'm panicked at the disco because I'm like, what does that mean? Like, it's a tough one. Like they're saying I'm being cringe about it, but I'm like, what is the millennial? Like, even someone responded to them and was like, how is this millennial? But I think it has like 90 likes. I know I didn't delete it. I let it be there.
Brooke
It's the 90 likes for me, that's.
Danielle
It's the. Yeah, maybe 87, but I'm.
Brooke
I'm not too understanding of Millennial Dance corps like that. Like, I don't think I would know.
Danielle
I feel like sometimes like. Like theater people. I feel like I used a lot of facials. Maybe, like, facial expressions. I don't know. So that was like my baby panic. My real panic, which is funny. I've been living in my current apartment building for a year, just about. And literally the other day, I was. I was literally having a dance party alone. It was the night before Ryan was gonna move into my apartment.
Brooke
We could talk. You're acting like, Danielle, I love you, but you.
Danielle
I'm so dramatic.
Brooke
You're acting like you're, like, being sent away or something. Like, you're. And I know my last night baking cookies. My last night putting on a face mask. My last. Like, you'll never. You'll never have cookies again. Now you're moving in with Rip Cookies, like, Evans.
Danielle
Like, yeah. You're literally gonna make cookies again. I was like, I know. I don't know how to explain it. No, I'm so dramatic. And I.
Brooke
You are like. I mean, you cried after you move out of your first apartment. You're very much so, like, to no use to know that you are like this, but, like. Because I know that you know that you'll. You'll have face masks. Yes.
Danielle
No, but it's.
Brooke
You could both do Facebook. We do spa night. Then I do spot night. You know, like, you could do spot.
Danielle
I will try to. I know you've done that. I need to.
Brooke
I have to get him. Sit him down. I have to chain him.
Danielle
Yeah, I do have to chain him. I could send you the link, like, Amazon.
Brooke
No, no, it is. It's not a regular occurrence, but it's happened a few times.
Danielle
Hey, that's good to hear. No, I was just like, I. I'm so. And my therapy. I'm working in therapy about this, but, like, I'm so black and white, and I need to not be that way. But it's not like, I did not cry when Ryan got there. Like, I was really here. I was just like, you know what? I had a free weekend. I was like, let me just be. Let me just lean. Enjoy this, because it could potentially be the last time I live alone. Like, it probably is, which is, like, so crazy.
Brooke
Yeah.
Danielle
So anyways, I was just. I was literally having a dance party and making cookies.
Brooke
Actually, no, I was putting that.
Danielle
I was putting the cookies on this. On the tray, whatever. Blasting music. Never had a problem. I hear my doorbell ring and I'm like. So I immediately lower the music and I go to the door and it's my neighbor, you want a noise complaint? Not just early. It was really scary because I've lived there for a year and it was actually not even to do with the music. He was like, hey, like, not trying to be a dick, but. And the music's fine. I was like, oh, my God. Then what is it? Apparently, I've been slamming my door too loud for the last year.
Brooke
Where does he. And he lives next to you? He around you nearby?
Danielle
I won't disclose.
Brooke
Docs, tell me where he is. I gotta. I gotta tell him something.
Danielle
Caddy corner. No. And he was nice. He was just like, when. You know, these doors are just really heavy.
Brooke
Yeah.
Danielle
So if you don't mind, like, when you come in and out of your apartment just to, like, gently close the door.
Brooke
But when did you slam the door?
Danielle
Like, but that's the thing. I had been home, so it was just like, oh.
Brooke
So he was getting himself charged up for it. He was like, today's the day.
Danielle
Today.
Brooke
Finally saying so.
Danielle
I was so.
Brooke
And I try to fight back or.
Danielle
No, I was just like, oh, my gosh. And by the way, my boyfriend's moving in tomorrow, so we're just going to be opening and closing.
Brooke
Like, and by the way, after that, you'll never see me again.
Danielle
I wish I said that, because then he could just be like, okay, one more month and she's gone. But, like, I don't know why I didn't want to say that, but I was so panicked because I, like, literally was fresh off a dance party. Like, my hair, like, it was just crazy. And he was like, no, it's fine. Like, my girlfriend's moving in too. But I just told her about the door. And so then I'm thinking, oh, my God. Like, to get a giant of a man like Ryan to just gently close the door every time. So now every time I leave my apartment, I'm like, just making sure. I don't know. Like, every time I leave, I just let the door shut. I don't know.
Brooke
I let the door shut, too, because it auto locks. I mean, like, I feel like it, like, does one of those. That kind of. Yeah.
Danielle
Yeah. I also never hear the people around me when their door shut. I just. I bet the layout of his apartment must be like. Because he was like, I'm just trying to chill today. I'm like, oh, my God.
Brooke
Not using Your door. I'm trying.
Danielle
No.
Brooke
So now every time I leave, I'm like, okay.
Danielle
But I just know, like, I bet when Ryan left for work this morning, like, I bet it wasn't so gentle. I'm just betting so.
Brooke
And you didn't even try to reason with them. You were just like, you know it's going to get worse.
Danielle
I know. I was like, oh, my God. Because I was like, I didn't realize. I'm so sorry. I will do my best. Like, I.
Brooke
You're nice, but now you know, is it the type of thing that now, like, looking back, you're like, oh, damn, I should have said this.
Danielle
I wish I said, I'll be out in a month. Could you just let me be? So that was my panic. Just, like, thinking about the fact that he's just been sitting there like, oh, there she is, shutting the door again.
Brooke
Like, you know, every time it's like.
Danielle
He'S like, fuck, yeah.
Brooke
Like, he's like screaming or something. Like, literally.
Danielle
So I'm just.
Brooke
Well, he clearly also, like, I hear door slam all the time.
Danielle
I think some people are more sensitive to sound like Katie Bloody. She said she was like, I am really sensitive to sound. So, like, I think it just depends on the person. Like, he's just. He's activated by my door shutting, which is not great because I'm always in and out. Like, UberEats, pickle delivery. Like, I'm just.
Brooke
And there's a. Okay, look, I could understand music. I had a downstairs neighbor one time for music. Yeah, because it was. But it. They were. They had like a whole speaker system and it was gone. You know what I mean? Like.
Danielle
Like vibrating.
Brooke
I can understand that. I could understand, like, yelling and screaming and fighting. I could understand, obviously, parties, like, late night, you know, activity. You live in an apartment, buddy. I mean, go buy a mansion down the road. Like, I don't know what to tell you.
Danielle
Thank you.
Brooke
How about you move out to the suburbs? Have you ever heard of a New York City apartment? Like, I don't know what to tell you. That's crazy.
Danielle
Isn't that crazy? Like, my door shutting is the problem.
Brooke
I can't believe he didn't wait for it to happen and do it.
Danielle
Like, you know, he's like, in that moment. Yeah, no, like, not the time he waited. Just. He was. He himself was taking the trash out.
Brooke
I think you've never seen this man before or have you seen around.
Danielle
But I was thinking about the fact one time when I had you guys over for my birthday, literally in September, I had cracked the door just so you guys could easily come in. I remember, I think it was Katie that answered the door because I was like gone in the bathroom or something and he was like, hey, do you guys mind shutting the door? I can hear the music. So I remember knowing that. But that was.
Brooke
Can I ask his age? Like, what the. Older than us.
Danielle
Older than us, but like, I'd say 30s. My lips feel so dry right now. You know, they don't look that dry.
Brooke
No, I do know that feeling because.
Danielle
They'Re not terrible yet, you know when you like get home and you're like. So I have been literally like spongebob without water on my lips for the last hour.
Brooke
Me on Accutane since I started. So yeah, it's been. Every time I put on lip liner, I make the sacrifice of do I want to put on lip liner and have chapped, crusty old man lips or do I wanna. Oh, thanks. I feel really silly. Maybe it's the feeling. We'll get into it.
Danielle
So what's your panic?
Brooke
I'm sorry that you have to go through that.
Danielle
That's fine. It's so chill. It's just funny. No, get in tears.
Brooke
Okay. Yeah, yeah. Wow. Guys, I've had a week. I feel like a few.
Danielle
A couple weeks.
Brooke
A couple weeks. No, it's been a few weeks. Really. It's been a few weeks of like real like realizations, you know, of like really looking inward and being like, this is it. I feel like it was a compounding effect. So I've been in therapy for a while. Like I, you know, I'm a great therapist, whatever. So I feel like it really allows me to be very self reflective. And I feel like she doesn't even to tell me necessarily, like, hey, you're feeling this way. But she almost like repeats things back to me and I'm like, wait, that is you clarifying. That really has me thinking about how that did make me feel or how I have been feeling. Whatever. So you guys, I feel like I've talked about it, that I get like kind of seasonal depression, I guess. It's never been like diagnosed. I've definitely like worked like I work through it in therapy. Like in the winter I definitely get very, very blue. Like last year happened really bad. This year, like, not as bad. That's why we do tour. I feel like in the winter it helps me like to stay busy and stay occupied and stuff. And I guess like just through the past few months and stuff, I noticed like never really went away. Like I Never really went away. And it's not now. I want to clarify this. It's not like every day crying in my bed.
Danielle
No, it's not.
Brooke
I can't leave my apartment. It's not. Whatever. So that's why I think for the longest time, I was like, you're like, no, surely, could a depressed person do this? Like, you know, like, actually, like, crack jokes? Like, actually, though. But then I did notice, like, I feel like that's even why I have, like, a lighter, sillier energy about me today, is because I started some medication, as did. Yes. We love modern medicine.
Danielle
We love modern medicine.
Brooke
Yeah. I. I just. I feel like I had a lot of unlocks that I thought that I was unmotivated in a lot of areas of my life, like, making friends, going out, work, like, just everything. I was kind of like doing the bare minimum, like, literally the bare minimum and everything. And, like, everything would exhaust me. And not to the point that I had to, like, sleep for multiple days wherever. I would just be like, why am I exhausted? Like, I didn't even do anything, you know, like. And it was almost like the mental energy of it all. And I think that I really came to terms with the fact that it's not energy like, oh, I need to drink a coffee energy. It's like, oh, I'm like, my levels aren't right.
Danielle
Yeah.
Brooke
You know, and like, I feel like, honestly, I feel like I've said this on the podcast before. Like, I see your morning routine, and I see everybody's morning routine. I'm like, why the can't I do that? Like, I don't know why. Like, I. I couldn't. Like, I could maybe go to workout class, but, like, that would be the whole morning. I'd be like, whole. Like, I'm proud of myself. I went to him, and by the time I was ready for the day, it's noon. I'm like, why am I not able to, like, function in a way that. And it wasn't always that way. Like, I definitely. It's been this way maybe for like a year or so, I think. And, yeah, I just really came to terms with that. I mean, I told a lot of people in my life, and I think a lot of people were shocked. They were like, oh, my God. Because I don't think I present as someone who's depressed. Like, I don't think that I give opportunity around.
Danielle
Not that depressed people aren't enjoyed to be around, but I think that I.
Brooke
Always thought that too. That's why I was like, No, I.
Danielle
You're like, I can't be. Yeah.
Brooke
But then I think that looking in more inward and like therapy and then like seeing a psychiatrist, like, I was like, like, oh, this is it.
Danielle
Like, yeah, chemical imbalance in the brain.
Brooke
Exactly. And maybe it's related to the Accutane. Maybe it is, maybe it's not. But at the same time it. I always get sad in the winter and I think that that just.
Danielle
I also have known you for literally I don't even know how many years at this point. And I feel like there have been other times in your life where you were like, pretty down. Like, maybe this would have been a benefit, but like, you weren't really sure. But now like when you told me, looking back, I was like, oh my God. Like. Like, I feel like for a second when you were in Boston or like stuff like that. Not to put words in your mouth.
Brooke
No. 100.
Danielle
But this is something that it's not just like a spur of the moment decision for you.
Brooke
No, no. It was definitely like weeks leading up. And like, I had thoughts about it. I was like, maybe like, you know, just unlocks of, like, maybe medication would help me, whatever, but like, I don't want to do anything. And then there was like a period of like I had a really bad week like a few weeks ago, and I was like, you know, I could see this as me getting down or I could see it as like almost like a sign that like, this is like a push for me to like, make a change in my life.
Danielle
Yeah.
Brooke
And I don't want to be on the medication forever. I feel like at this point it's like a kind of like a boost to like, level things out. And like, I'm going to be remind.
Danielle
You of like, what it's like to be in that zone of like feeling good, motivated.
Brooke
Exactly. And I have to say that I feel a lot. I mean, I don't know if it's a placebo. It's been a few weeks. And like, I feel like yesterday I was like on. I got back late and I was like unpacking and like doing a bunch of things and I was. I didn't even realize that I had like, like done so much. And I was like, wow. I normally, like after a big drive or something, I'd be like, oh, like I gotta sit on the couch, like on my phone or something, you know? Yeah. And at the end of the day, like, I'm 28, I'm a healthy person. Like, I shouldn't need to like. Like it's good to listen your body and take a day when you need it, but, like, I shouldn't need to take days, like every. Like every week, you know?
Danielle
No, I think it's amazing that you have this realization and this come to moment, like where you were like, you know, there are these little things and you want to change. Like, I think that's amazing. Not change, but like, you want to.
Brooke
Feel better and I just want to feel better. Like, that's what it is again, like, I want to feel, I think back to even myself in high school and like college. I was always like a very motivated person. I was. Not that I woke up with a crack of dawn and, like, worked out, but I always had, like multiple projects going on and I was this person that was very. Like, I don't have enough going on. Like, let me add more.
Danielle
Yeah.
Brooke
And now I just feel like I. I think it also really came down to. With like a lot of YouTube stuff. And I've been working through that in therapy. I'm like this thing that used to bring me so much joy. Like, so, so much joy. I feel nothing. Like, I truly feel nothing. Like when I post a video, which is so sad. Like, that is. Yeah, like, really sad. Like, that is. And that's where like our communities are. Like, you know, that's like, yeah, my space. I know you too, and our squad. I was like, this isn't right.
Danielle
You know, I think because it's like a longer form of content, so you're having to fill more of a video talk more. More vulnerable. And maybe you're just also weren't in. Weren't not in the state to, like, do that.
Brooke
Yeah.
Danielle
Right now. So there's so many things that play into it.
Brooke
No, there was like, when I had like that bad week, I was like, I don't even want to pick up the camera right now because, like, I just.
Danielle
You have nothing to give.
Brooke
I have not. Like, I was like, I am giving the worst vibes. Like, you know, when you have a friend, you're hanging out with your friend. Like, the vibes off and like, it's like, okay, they need to take some time. Like, yeah, I was giving that energy, like, of like, you don't want to be around me today.
Danielle
You know, hey, so.
Brooke
And people are like, hey, talk about it. So this is me talking about it. You know, it's only been a few weeks, so I feel like everything's leveling out. I'm not gonna lie. The past, like, few weeks were a little turbulent. Like, I feel like High highs, low lows, which I feel like is, from what I understand, like, there's a getting adjusted period, but I'm doing it, you know, under the consult of, like, a lot of people. I have weekly therapy, which is great. I have, I have a lot of just, like, love and support around me too, with, like, friends and family. So I feel very, I feel very good. And I feel like I'm. The past few days, I've been, like, catching myself, like, in laughing fits again. And I'm like, oh, my God. Like, not that I haven't laughed, but I haven't been, like, I rolled on the floor, like, laughing.
Danielle
Yeah.
Brooke
You know, in a while.
Danielle
100%. No. It's, it's so nice. And that's so interesting what you pointed out yesterday about how you got home and you were just like, oh, I didn't even realize I just did all that. Whereas maybe before I was like, I do not want to do this. I'm just gonna love islands on, you know, whatever it is, like, that's awesome.
Brooke
And I think that that's like, when, you know, from what I understand, like, that it's working. It's not necessarily like a jolt or a boost or whatever. It's just kind of like, oh, I did things start happening and you're like, oh, my gosh. I, like, it's not like I feel the energy to make breakfast today. Like, you know, it's just more so. Like, I feel like I woke up and that's just naturally what I did. And then I like, look at my morning so far. I'm like, oh, my God. I, I, I lived all day today.
Danielle
You know, That's a good point to make too. It's not like this jolt of caffeine.
Brooke
No, it's more of more so. And it's not like it's motivation, I.
Danielle
Guess, like, this motivation.
Brooke
I feel like yesterday was the first day that I really felt it. And, like, I feel like even Ben noticed. He was like, wow, you are just in, like, your delight. Like, you know, like, you're, you are a delight. Like.
Hayden

Brooke
I was just in the best mood. I hope that it's not. I don't. Everyone. I. I'm really.
Danielle
I think there will be a lot.
Brooke
Of research for sure. And I think that there is, like, a bliss period of, like, this is awesome.
Danielle
The honeymoon phase.
Brooke
Yes. Yes, there might be, but I think that's why you see, you know your psychiatrist a lot and, like, try to make sure that you're on the right amount for you and stuff. So thank you for listening. I literally had a crash out. Like, I'm not gonna lie. Like, I had 20, 25 crash out. Yeah. It wasn't. Wasn't on my bingo card for this year.
Danielle
I, like, hate that because, like, I don't think I necessarily knew that. That. Yeah, like, did I. It was like, it was just like you were at home and you were just sitting thinking.
Brooke
Yeah, I feel like it was just a lot of, like, external. Yes. Like, my. My brain was a battlefield.
Danielle
Oh, and then your camera literally crashed out.
Brooke
Yes. No, it was like a compounding effect. Yes. It was like I had just a. I don't even know. It's like a con. Like, personal things, basically. Yeah. I just kind of started spiraling and, like, I could not get myself out of it. Like, there were a few days where I was just on the brink of tears. Like, I couldn't. Oh, my God. I was getting my nails done at Mickey and I was, like, crying and I didn't tell her or anything because I didn't want to, like, make a big deal of it. But I think that I was really adjusting to medication. At that point, because I was, like, basically having a bad few days. And then I was like, like, this is signed. Like, I have to. Well, I have to take control of this now. So, like, then I, like, talk to my therapist. Talk to the psychiatrist, like, right away. And.
Danielle
Wow. Yeah, I didn't.
Brooke
But the first few days were turbulent, like, for sure. And I. For no reason, like, it wasn't like, oh, my God, I'm so sad about this thing. Like, I was literally just getting my nails done, like, so anxious. And they were like, oh, my God, like, we fix this. And I was like, no, no. Like, I have to go. Like, I just was not well. But I. Right now, I feel amazing. You know?
Danielle
So literally before we were recording, you.
Brooke
Were like, yeah, no, I'm, like, rattling off ideas. I feel creative again. Yes, that's what it was like. I just. I don't even want to call it motivation. It was just like. I feel like I wasn't myself.
Danielle
No. And I. I noticed because you made a point how I've been waking up earlier, and I was like, well, normally you're up first, like, firing away. And then I. I did notice that.
Brooke
I've been sleeping till, like, 9:30. Like, that's so unlike me.
Danielle
It's very unlike you. Yeah, actually. Which is. It's not, like, the worst thing in the world. But I did notice that once you.
Brooke
Said it, I was like, yeah, no, I just. I guess I was just off and. Like, there was really no explanation. Except for the chemicals in my brain are awry. Like, they're. They're not in the right place.
Danielle
Adjust when the weather adjusted. Also, the weather's been whack, so maybe that's fine too.
Brooke
I know, but it's a whole lot of things. But. And I also have noticed that, like, doing a lot of work things, like, actually makes me feel better, which I thought that it would. And I was like, I'm gonna have to give myself grace this next month as I adjust and whatever. But last week, I. I did a shoot. Like, I had a busy week on set. I was on set.
Danielle
Yeah, that's right.
Brooke
And I was kind of, like, dreading it because I was like. Like, I just started this medication. Like, oh, my God, I gotta go upset now. Like, how am I gonna do this? And honestly, was the best thing for me just to have, like, to be completely mentally distracted and to, like, be surrounded by people doing something that, like, I do enjoy to do. And I had to, like, remind myself that, like, Brooke, you would have, like, killed for an opportunity like this, you know, and I still do, but I. I feel like that. Yeah, you good for me.
Danielle
And we have good.
Brooke
A lot of good things coming up. Like, I feel like it's good to.
Danielle
Some new projects, some things to, like, delve into that. It's like, perfect timing being creative and.
Brooke
Yeah. Sorry, I just rambled for a second.
Danielle
No, I am so my crash out. Proud of you for talking about it.
Brooke
I, of course, wanted to share it with everybody.
Danielle
Obviously, that's what we do here.
Brooke
Yeah.
Danielle
But thank you. And I'm literally so excited for you. Like, when you told me, I was like, like, this make. This is.
Brooke
No, I know. You and Katie had the best, like, reactions.
Danielle
Really?
Brooke
Yeah. You guys were like, oh, my God. Like, congrats. Like, amazing. Like, you're gonna feel better. Like, yeah, not from a place of judgment. Not like, you know, it was very much so.
Danielle
Oh, yeah.
Brooke
I told my therapist, like, I was like, I. I told my business part, my business partner, Danielle, like, and that, like, I'm doing it. And she was like, I think this is gonna, like, be good for you and everything. And she was like, that's great. Like, to hear that people in your life are.
Danielle
Yeah, whatever.
Brooke
Like, it couldn't be. But I think for an older generation, I think when I first told my parents, they were supportive for sure. But, like, I think it was shocking.
Danielle
Yeah, of course.
Brooke
And I think they were like, whoa. Even when I thought about. I was like, stereotypically, like, I thought that people who go on medication for something like this, like, you need to literally be like, you can't leave your bed, you know, or like, something is seriously wrong. Like, you're having dark thoughts, like, yeah.
Danielle
You know, but then it's like, if you were in a room of people our age and you said, raise your hand if you're Danielle.
Brooke
Everybody's coming out of the woodwork.
Danielle
No, it's crazy. Are you like, oh, my God, you too?
Brooke
Yes. No. So then I. I had to text him. I. I seriously did have a crash out. Like, I was like, I. I have to delay some, like, work, like, that first few days. Like, I said, I was like, I gotta delay some things. And I, like, honestly told, like, some of the people close to me in, like, business stuff. I was like, hey, you know, I'm. I just can't do this, and I'm going on some medication. Like, I'm just, like, going through a lot of change. And they. They were like. Like, a surprising number of people were like, same. Hey, I been there, you know, And I just I guess I just didn't. I never knew how. How did I never know that?
Danielle
I like, never really knew. And then like, recently it'll be like, oh, like my friend would be like, oh, I gotta take my medication. And then like, she'll just be like, oh, you know this. I'm like, oh, I didn't even know you're on medication.
Brooke
Right.
Danielle
Everyone's so low key. Better. I've been on it for years and you just have no idea. And they just have this running prescription. You just don't know.
Brooke
No, I had no. I.
Danielle
It's because you and I just like blurt everything to everyone. So we're like, how did you not tell me? But they just don't even think about it. It's just part of. Totally.
Brooke
And people that I never thought of as depressed people or people. Yes, like that. And I guess it's just because, you know, you figure out what works for you and like your brain chemicals and then you're good.
Danielle
Like, I'm done.
Brooke
And you can. I don't think there's cons to staying on it from what I understand. And then I started searching it on Tick Tock. I found creators that I followed that. Like, I already had followed that. I was like, oh my God, I had no idea that you were on this too.
Danielle
Like, that's the best when you're like.
Brooke
Hey, we're all in a club together and the clerk.
Danielle
We all fam.
Brooke
Social media is really, really useful. I feel like for stuff like that though, because it's like if you have like a niche side effect or.
Danielle
Yes. Oh, yeah.
Brooke
You know, just sharing your experience. Like, oh, I'm in week two, like, and I feel kind of happy. Like, you know, and then people like, I felt happy week two too. Week three is a little harder. Like, you know, whatever.
Danielle
So helpful. You're like, okay, I'm not alone in this. Or if I'm having a pan attack, I'm like, is blah, blah, feeling numb part of. Or like whatever it is? You're like, okay, great. Yeah, perfect.
Brooke
Feel seen.
Danielle
Yeah.
Brooke
Yeah.
Danielle
Oh, I'm so proud of you.
Brooke
Thanks for sharing. Oh my gosh, of course. I'm like, let me share it on here.
Danielle
I'm like, I feel sunshines and rainbows coming your way.
Brooke
Thanks.
Danielle
They're already here. They're over you. Your aura. We'll have to get your aura tested soon.
Brooke
Yeah.
Danielle
Or something. I don't know. Speaking of auras kinda and therapy, I had something so funny happen to me today and I've been like, Waiting to tell you. I think it's crazy.
Brooke
Is it about Ryan moving in?
Danielle
No, actually, it's about my therapist. So both you and I, we do zoom therapy. And my therapist said to me one time. She was like, by the way, I might have said this on the podcast or said it to you. She was like, because we realized we, like, kind of live near each other. And she was like, if I ever see you in person, like, can I say hi? And I was like, yeah, of course. Why not? She's like, well, hipaa. And stuff like that. Like, if you were with a friend that you don't want to know, is that you're in therapy, whatever. And I was like, oh, I don't care. But anyways, I'm walking. I was dropping dry cleaning off, and I immediately clocked her. I was like, oh, my God, that's her. And so she didn't see me. She was talking to a friend, but, like, they were saying goodbye, and I honestly didn't even think about it. So I'm happ. The friend went away because I don't really want people to know who my therapist.
Brooke
How do you know each other? Like, family, friends?
Danielle
Yeah. I actually would have panicked in that moment, But I saw her. She was also so much taller in person. I, like, wasn't expecting it. She probably thought I was short. And I was like. I said her name, and she was. I said. I was like, it's Danielle Caroline. Because, you know.
Brooke
Yeah.
Danielle
I don't know what she thought. And she was like, oh, my God. So she pulls me over to the side of the road, and we're just, like, looking at each other like, this is crazy. Like, she's like, how are. She was like, this has never happened to me, not once in my years of doing this. I've never met anyone in person.
Brooke
Really?
Danielle
I was like, really? Because, like, all of her clients are in New York, and.
Brooke
But she has no office. She does everything remote.
Danielle
She has an office, but, like, yeah, it's everything remote. She, like, made one, but I believe it's all remote. And she was like, this is so crazy. Like, how are you? I was like, I'm good, but, like, I didn't want to. Like, yeah, you know, therapy. So crazy. And then.
Brooke
Do you know anything about her life? Like, I don't know anything about my therapist life.
Danielle
No, I really. I like to keep that boundary of, like, I know very few things because sometimes she'll include, like, oh, that. Actually, it happened to me. What? Like, every now and then, but still not much. But she Was like, leaving a workout class, just, like, being normal. And I was on a walk and driving the drive, cleaning off, and it was crazy.
Brooke
Oh, my God.
Danielle
Meeting your therapist in person, which sounds okay. Well, a lot of people go to therapy in person, but we don't. So that was.
Brooke
Wow, that's so funny. And that's good that you said something first then. Did you ever hear the story one of our good friends that this happened to, that she had a remote therapist as well? And it was like, a friend of a friend, whatever. And she was at. I won't say who it was, but yeah. And she was at a. I think a wedding or like a engagement party or something out in the Hamptons. And it was like a so random friend of a friend or something like that. And they were doing some sort of, like, dance where everybody, like, holds hands and they run. Like, I think it was like, the. What's it called? The Jewish ends that they do at weddings.
Danielle
Oh, I know what you're talking about.
Brooke
Why can't I think of it right now? The. Oh, my God. Whatever.
Danielle
Whatever that one is.
Brooke
But it's an engagement party, so that.
Danielle
Doesn'T really make sense why they were doing that.
Brooke
Whatever. She said that they were doing some sort of dance and they're holding hands. And she looks to the side and she's like, holy. She's holding hands with her therapist. No way. They've never met in person. And she just freaked out. And, like, she didn't. She didn't know what to do, so she left and, like, ran to the side and was like, I. I'm not in a position to talk to her right now. Like, I do not want to talk to her right now. Like, what do I do?
Danielle
Were they actively working with each other?
Brooke
Yes.
Danielle
Oh, my God.
Brooke
And it was just, like, not the setting, I think, to.
Danielle
Yeah, she didn't want. Literally. How do you guys know each other? Like, oh, she knows all my trauma. Like, you don't really want that.
Brooke
But can you imagine, like, in a setting. Yeah. You're like, yeah. She's like. It was like, I saw a ghost. Yeah.
Danielle
That's so funny. No, I don't know that story. That's crazy. Yeah. That's literally what happened to me. That's crazy. It was just like, that was it. And then she was like, let me know if you want to meet this week. I was like, I'm traveling. Bye.
Brooke
Have a good one.
Danielle
Oh, my God. It was the craziest thing. I knew it might happen.
Brooke
This was this morning.
Danielle
This morning. And I wanted to text you so bad. Be like, this just happened.
Brooke
I was like, I got some material. I was like, already? It's 9am Yeah.
Danielle
I was like, I. That happened. So, yeah, I wrote that. Oh. And then. Oh. But then I told my mom was like, mom, I just met my therapist in person. She goes, did you like her energy in person?
Brooke
Did you?
Danielle
Yeah, I did, but I was like, what? She was like, no, because you can really read people's energy. I was like, yeah, I guess, like, if she had some dark energy about her.
Brooke
I feel like your mom can read people's energy.
Danielle
Yeah.
Brooke
In person, do you feel like you can? I feel like you can too, but, like, your mom really can. Oh, I.
Danielle
She really can. I was telling her about someone the other day. I was like, I need your opinion on their energy. Yeah, you probably know what I'm talking about.
Brooke
But, like, she needs to meet them.
Danielle
She needs to meet them or even, like, watching something. I was like, I feel like you'll pick up on something really right away. So that happened, and it was really funny. But, yes, Ryan did move in, and we're literally very quickly in. So, like, there's nothing much that has happened other than. So I think I already explained it right. But super, super quick. Brian's moving in with me. He lives with me in my current apartment. Right now. We are here for, like, a few weeks, like, not much at all. Then we put our stuff in storage, go to an Airbnb that we rented in the city for a month. But during that month, I have a Hamptons house for two weeks. And he'll be coming home, coming there on the weekends. And then mid August, we move into our apartment. So that's kind of the. The lineup. But so right now, I kind of made room for him. Not really at all, but he. All of his stuff. And you warned me. You were like, be prepared. Like, this part's a little. Because didn't Ben move in to your apartment for, like, a second?
Brooke
His lease wasn't up until, like, September, so he, like, kind of started to move in his stuff, but, like, not all of our furniture was in. And it was like, that was definitely, like, the cluster period of, like. Yeah, like, I keep cursing in this episode, too. I'm so sorry.
Danielle
Wait. I feel like I always do. Like, why are you guys.
Brooke
I just realized I've been saying that a lot. Side effect.
Danielle
Side effect.
Brooke
Can you imagine? Excessive. You're just so potty mouth.
Danielle
Potty mouth on, like, the bottle, like, body mouth. No, you're just very excited yeah, yeah. Expressive.
Brooke
That's what it is. Expressive. Yeah.
Danielle
But you warned me. You were like, just be prepared to, like, have stuff everywhere. So that's why I also wanted to enjoy my last week of living.
Brooke
No, it was good. It was good.
Danielle
Good.
Brooke
It's when you're in flux, it's like a lot of, like, you know, you're not sure if you don't have places for things to go, so. And I feel like that's nice that you're moving with all of your furniture to the new place because. Yeah, that's a big thing. It's like, where does this stuff go? Right.
Danielle
Like, we'll be able to put things away.
Brooke
Yeah. Like, you have a dresser, like, for the longest time, I feel like I didn't have, like, a dresser. Like.
Danielle
True.
Brooke
And it's like, okay, what do we do here?
Danielle
Yeah, that's true. We are actually gonna get a new dresser. And I'm gonna keep that dresser for the guest room because I want it. I want the dresser to be able to fit some of his.
Brooke
But you'll have something to.
Danielle
But fit.
Brooke
Fit things.
Danielle
Yes.
Brooke
I don't know. Of course.
Hayden
Of course.
Danielle
But yeah. So he just has moving bags everywhere. So far, the craziest thing he's done is. And he did this once before, but I didn't think to post it. People thought it was hilarious. He has been using my flower vases as cups.
Brooke
Do you keep them in the same.
Danielle
They are in the same cabinet, I guess, but they're definitely above. And he is just opting for the flower bases because they fit more water. But it's the craziest thing. And his hands are so big. He's like holding it normally. You know what I mean?
Brooke
It doesn't look odd.
Danielle
It doesn't look odd. But then, yeah, I'm like, this is so weird. So, like, doing the dishes and stuff. But so far we want to do a whole episode on this because. Yeah, I think it'd be so funny if people submitted their advice. Whatever. But one person suggested that I give him his own little, like, catch all tray at the front.
Brooke
It's really sweet.
Danielle
Yeah, very sweet. But also, it's been amazing because one of the things that pisses me off is when there's like, like, wallet one table, keys the other, AirPods another. So now he's in training, but as soon as he walks in, he puts it in his tray.
Brooke
That's really nice.
Danielle
That's like the biggest thing I've implemented. And I was actually talking to my therapist about it. Our Therapists are getting a big promo today. Love therapy. She. I was talking. I was like, so what are some. Because I'm such a Virgo, I'm like, so to get ahead of anything, like, what should I Like, what should. What are good things? And she was like, just make like, the whole, like, chores and tasks things fun. Like, okay, Ruby, yay. Like, let's go over, like, you know what, you know, the short chart. That's gonna be what we do tonight. Yeah. And someone else commented on my tick tock saying we should have, like, pink and blue jobs so that could be more fun instead of, like, that was your thing to do. Like, oh, that's a blue job. Like, oh, that's cute.
Brooke
That's so funny. I like, totally play into, like, gender stereotypes. Like, cancel me. Like, whenever it's like, you know, I'm like, the trash. That's a man's job.
Danielle
Yeah, like that, basically.
Brooke
I mean, it's definitely a blue job, but, like, you know, I'm like, like, like, I will say it. I'll be like, hey, that's trash needs to be taken out. That's a man's job. You know, like, usually I don't have.
Danielle
So cute saying it that way too. Or like, anything boxes.
Brooke
Like, honestly, driving. I'm like, driving around. Like, that's the man's job. Like, I deserve to be the passenger princess, you know?
Danielle
No, that's. That's actually so true.
Brooke
Like, if we're gonna. If we're gonna, you know, if we're gonna have the gender differences, I'm like, all right, then that's the man's job.
Danielle
You know, if we're gonna do it in other parts of the world, then let's do it here. And that. That's a funny way to do it too.
Brooke
Yeah, it's like a bit. Yes. Yes.
Danielle
A fun bit.
Brooke
Yeah.
Hayden

Brooke
I feel like it came across like it's happened naturally though. Like it's kind of. It hasn't had to be most of the time discussed.
Danielle
Yeah, I know. I'm like, how much do I need to do ahead of time? I feel like naturally he also, we're. Ryan and I are acting as if he's never slept over. Like we were going to bed last.
Brooke
Night and we were like, you guys are sleeping in the same bed before marriage?
Danielle
Yeah, I know, like that's how we're acting basically. But I think it's more so usually he would sleep over mainly on the weekends. So like, like last night we were going to bed, we were like, oh my God, it's a school night.
Brooke
Like, what are we going to do?
Danielle
And I was telling you this before because I just, I couldn't wait for everything, but I was going to bed and I really like to scroll. I think a lot of people like to scroll. Ryan puts his phone on the charger down. Like he doesn't believe in, not like for any other reason. He just doesn't like to be on his phone like in bed.
Brooke
Will you talk then or no, Just silent.
Danielle
Yeah, we had a little like light fair of chat and then he just rolled over and of course his tone of breathing changed. Asleep.
Brooke
And how do they fall asleep in two minutes? Can we talk about that?
Danielle
No, I think they just don't move. I think they literally just.
Brooke
No, but it's like my brain doesn't.
Danielle
Stop Though no brain is going and going.
Brooke
Yeah.
Danielle
Did you say you've been having crazy dreams?
Brooke
Most vivid dreams on this medication. I saw that that was a side effect and I realized it, like, a few nights ago. Well, more engagements are happening, so I feel like, you know, it's always adjacent to, like, something that happened in your day. I feel like I saw Bridget's engagement and then I was texting, I think, with you and Katie. So then I was. Had a really vivid dream that Katie, for some reason was like, I mean, I want to be engaged by July. And then I remember in the dream, I was panicking for her. I was red panic. I was like, katie, Katie, it's June. It's the end of June. July is next month. I was like, katie, we're running out of time. Meanwhile, just so we're clear, they're not getting it.
Danielle
That's not Katie's time.
Brooke
It's not? Actually, no. Like, that's why I thought it was funny, because I was like, katie, you only have 30 days. We have to hurry up, get an order in quick.
Danielle
No. Then you wake up and you think, it's so real.
Brooke
It was so last night. I don't even remember. I literally do not remember what it was. But I had such a vivid dream. I know it was Love island to Jason because I watched it before I went to bed.
Hayden
Wow.
Danielle
So it's like halfway through happening, very current, and then it's a real feeling.
Brooke
I haven't had this vivid of dreams in years.
Danielle
Anything like scary.
Brooke
Luckily, no luck. Knock on wood. They've just been really, really vivid to the point that I wake up and I'm. Or actually, and I want to say I don't remember the dream, but I think that I continued it. Like, I woke up today, fell back asleep, and continued the same dream.
Danielle
I love, love.
Brooke
A continuation, Chapter two.
Danielle
You're like, let me fall back asleep. I know that.
Brooke
Yeah. Like, you like. It was so good that, that you, like, felt good about it.
Danielle
You need to know what happens next.
Brooke
Oh, yes. Yes, I do that too. Yeah. Can you. Are you able to continue half and half every now and again? Do you have vivid dreams?
Danielle
I, I, we must be in sync. Like, I think, you know, I'm on antidepressants.
Brooke
You are. Because you two are having vivid dreams.
Danielle
The craziest dreams. I didn't want to say that the other day. Take away from yourself.
Brooke
Me too.
Danielle
Yeah. I didn't want to be annoying. We're all having dreams, but not probably as often. But I had a crazy one the other day, where were one of my literal best friends in the entire world, and it felt so real. Had all of our best friends be her bridesmaids, except for me. And I was the photographer. I was so upset.
Brooke
That's so funny.
Danielle
I woke up and, like, immediately was, like, checking my phone. I'm like, this is not real. Right. I texted her.
Brooke
Did the roles go out?
Danielle
Yeah. Did the cast list? The cast list is out. I'm the photographer. She didn't even. She's not even engaged, but, like, she is dating someone, so it felt kind of real, you know?
Brooke
Yeah. Yeah.
Danielle
So it. Vivid dreams are fun if they're not, like, super scary.
Brooke
Yeah. No, I'm into. That's why right now, I'm like, they're good.
Danielle
You're like, this is so fun. Good night, everybody. Yeah, but it's story time.
Brooke
It's been taking me a minute to go to sleep, though. Like, I feel like. Because I'm like, I got a lot going on up there.
Danielle
Also, something you didn't mention, not to bring it back up is you said you haven't been, like, reading as much.
Brooke
I haven't read pretty. I read one book this year.
Danielle
Yeah?
Brooke
Like, two.
Danielle
Maybe two. You read the Lucy Score book?
Brooke
Yeah.
Danielle
Was that, like, the last one you've read?
Brooke
Never finished it. Can't lie. I haven't been able to finish a.
Danielle
We never got over.
Brooke
Literally. No.
Danielle
So that. When you told me that, I was like. You're like, sorry, I didn't mean to bring it back up, but that is.
Brooke
No, I haven't been. That did it for my mom, too. She was like.
Danielle
She's like, all right. Yep.
Brooke
You're right.
Danielle
You know, you're not enjoying your reading right now.
Brooke
I feel like it's like the things that once brought me. The things that we never got over, that once brought me joy.
Danielle
Yeah. Yeah. Maybe you should start, like, listening to books or something.
Brooke
I do listen. Yeah, you do.
Danielle
No, you do.
Brooke
I will. Does that count, though? I think some people think it counts. Like, I don't know.
Danielle
When you said it to me, I took it as physical reading before bed. Because I feel like you're always listening to something when you're in the car or driving.
Brooke
Yeah. If I'm being completely honest, I have been overdoing it on social media, and I think that that's also, like, consuming. And I. I do feel like that's been playing into the depression, too.
Danielle
Like comparison or just, like, just being chronically online?
Brooke
Chronically online, number one and then comparison number, too. I Think. Yeah, I think I'm. I have been getting way more in my head lately, and that's just because I've been glued to a phone or a screen.
Danielle
Yeah.
Brooke
And not even posting. That's the thing. I'm, like, I'm not even being productive about this and, like, editing up my own content or whatever. Like, I'm just consuming. Consuming.
Danielle
No, honestly, I feel like it's a slower time right now, at least for me, for, like, work stuff. So there's. I've been having more time to, like, scroll. And that's where it definitely gets to you. You're like, oh, my God. I. I'm just like, so on my phone, I'm looking at everyone else's life. I'm not doing my life. Like, I definitely feel you on that.
Brooke
No, the comparison has been, like, lethal for me. No, when I. When I had like, the big breakdown to my parents too, I was like, it's everything. There's only so much a girl can take. And, like, I feel like they were.
Danielle
Like, holy, like, write that prescription.
Brooke
Okay. Like, oh, my God. Because I was. No, it's the comparison. I'm not doing the things that I loved. I'm not. And it's not that I, like, decided that I hate everything. It's just I. I don't feel like picking up a book. I don't feel like YouTube videos. I don't feel like, you know, you.
Danielle
Want, you know, one thing that unless you're hiding it, like, you're very motivated for gals in the ghost stuff. Like, I love it. Like, yeah, you. I think you get really excited about it. As your co host. I haven't felt a dip at all.
Brooke
That makes me feel good. Well, to be honest, I. I am able to like, tell myself, like, it's. Brook, it's one hour of your week.
Danielle
Like, sit through it with Danielle. My God, I do look forward to.
Brooke
Obviously talking to a friend. But like, at the same time afterwards, like, I feel like after we recorded, I used to like, go and be like, such a good episode. Like, you know, like, yeah. Giddy, like, kicking my feet, and now I'm like, nothing. Like, it's kind of like that numb feeling. It's kind of sad. Like, it's. Honestly, I mean, it's sad. Yeah. I'm depressed. It's sad.
Danielle
Like, man, I'm sorry. I'm laughing. It's. No, that's why you're so funny.
Brooke
No, I know. It's self deprecating. Yeah. No, it's. But it is, like, it's Almost like that empty feeling of being, like, the things. The things that I never got over. I can't stop. I used to just get so, so excited by all of this. Like, you know, it used to be like, new video drop. We said it's like Christmas. It's like Christmas.
Danielle
Yeah, but you weren't feeling that way. No.
Brooke
And I. I thought it was just that. And then I thought it was just reading, and then I thought it was just, you know, my. My purpose, my this, my that, like. And I was like, why, though? Because on the surface, like, I have a really good life. Like, I have an awesome life. Like you do. Truly. Like, I don't. Knock on wood. Like, I haven't had to worry about, like, my bills getting paid and, like.
Danielle
Right.
Brooke
Stresses that people really have, you know? And that's why I think I also was like, how can I be like, you know, I'm in a loving relationship. I have the best family, like, amazing support system. Like, how could I be depressed? You know? But you can be because your brain's up.
Danielle
Yeah. It's. It's not your fault.
Brooke
Thanks. Yeah.
Danielle
It's not your fault.
Brooke
No. And I. I think that I'm on the right track and I'm hoping that I'll get back to those things that I never got over.
Danielle
I think you. Things we never got over. I got a funny text from Ryan as we were walking in.
Brooke
Yeah?
Danielle
And it said, sleep over tonight.
Brooke
Is it question mark?
Danielle
Sleepover tonight with a question mark. It's so funny. I'm like. Like, he's just, like, at home right now. Oh, sorry. Oh, no. I guess. No, no, he's not home. He's not waiting for you. But it is so weird. Like, I'm excited to go home and then he's just like. Last night he, like, walked in the door from his thing he had, and I was like, he just, like, has a key and walked in. So it is fun.
Brooke
Did you not have a key before?
Danielle
No, I only have two. And the other one I use to, like, give to people. But I was like, it will make it work until then.
Brooke
Yeah.
Danielle
So, yeah, no, he never had a key, but the doorman always let him up all the way up to me. And yeah, sometimes I'd given him it if I was gone.
Brooke
You know what's a real big shift? The emergency contact.
Danielle
Oh, my God. See, it's been.
Brooke
Your emergency depends on what it is. It depends if it's Ben's, also, like, in medical, but if it's like. Yeah, if it's Something like medical, for sure.
Danielle
Yeah.
Brooke
If. And if it's something like New York, like, they need to be here soon, like. Yeah.
Danielle
Wow. Yeah. I guess I haven't.
Brooke
I don't think, like, it's only sometimes, like. But then when I do, like, you know, the airlines make you do it. I write my mom's.
Danielle
Yeah.
Brooke
Still.
Danielle
Yeah. I guess I just always put my dad's. Like, I just.
Brooke
Oh, he's your.
Danielle
He's mine. Because he's the doctor.
Brooke
Yeah. So, like, something came medical.
Danielle
He's also, like, he wears an apple watch. So he responds, lightning. Do your parents wear apple watches?
Brooke
My mom does.
Danielle
Your mom does.
Brooke
She's responsive.
Danielle
I mean, lightning fast. Because it says red right away. So that's why sometimes that's where my anxiety kicks in. If he doesn't respond, I'm, like, texting my mom, like. Or my brother, like, what's his work schedule? Like? Why isn't he replying? So it's a blessing and a curse.
Brooke
I get that. Medical profession professionals love an apple watch.
Danielle
They love. I guess it makes sense.
Brooke
No, it does make sense. Yeah.
Danielle
But one. Actually, I won't say that it's a dark.
Brooke
Is it a dark.
Danielle
It's just.
Brooke
Yeah.
Danielle
Stupid stuff that doesn't have to do with me, but. Yeah. Wow.
Brooke
No, that's when you start making those changes.
Danielle
Yeah, no, like, emergency contact, things like that. Like, we went grocery shopping together, and we were like, what should we eat? You know? And he eats chicken and rice. So. So I'm. Tonight for dinner. He's like, I'll make us dinner tonight. I'm like, oh, great. Chicken and rice.
Brooke
Is it really?
Danielle
Yeah, of course. But he's making it on the grill, and he's gonna make corn on the cob, too, which I'm.
Brooke
A corn on the cob moment. Yeah.
Danielle
Corn on the cob. So good. Like, it's underrated.
Brooke
Do you put butter on butter?
Danielle
Salt? Yeah, everything. What about you?
Brooke
Yes, of course. Butter and salt. Do you also. My recent hyper fixation has been. Again. I forgot about it. Found it again. Rotisserie chicken.
Danielle
So good. Yeah, I saw that in your Costco haul. Just. It's so nice to just rip it, put it on top of something, or just eat it.
Brooke
No shredding it for the house.
Danielle
Yeah.
Brooke
I, like, ended up for the bowl. One for me, one for the bowl.
Danielle
I have a question. Do you like the darker or lighter meat? Lighter. Okay. Yes. And I just always thought this was popular to, like, like, the darker meat. Ryan was like, ew, I like the lighter Meat. Meat. This is crazy to me.
Brooke
We would, like, almost would, like, like, throw away the darker meat. Like, I don't want to say that we're wasteful like that, but, like, yeah, it was pretty.
Danielle
Or we give it a try.
Brooke
Give it to our dogs.
Danielle
I thought you were gonna say we.
Brooke
Give it to our doorman, not the dorm. I brought you some dark meat.
Danielle
Yeah, we don't like the dark. Oh, you mean like when you were younger?
Brooke
What? I just went, like, bit the microphone.
Danielle
Now Brooke's eating the microphones.
Brooke
Oh, my God.
Danielle
Yeah. No, I'm realizing that most people like the light of me.
Brooke
Oh.
Danielle
Similarly, here's another question. Lighter versus darker lettuce. Like, you know, like iceberg lettuce or like, romaine. There's like, the.
Brooke
Yeah.
Danielle
Romaine at the bottom is the lighter. Top is the leafy. Yeah, Green.
Brooke
Leafy green all the way. How about you?
Danielle
Same. I know it's not same. I like the lighter.
Brooke
Well, that's good. We could share a loaf.
Danielle
We could share wedge, main head. But that's more nutrition. Just both of the ones you like are more nutritious, like the lighter meat and the darker, leafy greens. So I.
Brooke
Chicken, right. Like, the white meat is like.
Danielle
Yeah. It's leaner chicken. Like, usually the darker meat is like the thigh and the fatty area.
Brooke
Growing up, though, my mom only made chicken breast. That was period. Like, we never had other parts of the chicken. Like, I don't. That's just. So that's only the breasts.
Danielle
No. Yeah. I guess typically, it's like what you are used to.
Brooke
Probably.
Danielle
Yeah. No, but like, I grew up eating breasts as well. But it's like, God bless. God bless. I don't know. It's just so interesting, you know, when you're just. Your whole life, you think one thing.
Brooke
Yes.
Danielle
And then.
Brooke
Yes, I've been there. Yes. I've come to that conclusion many times. I have come to the conclusion that I eat a lot more protein than Ben. I'm like, that's a man's job. Like.
Danielle
But you just think, like, it's so weird. And then you compare. Yeah. So I'm looking forward to that.
Brooke
And then I see. But then I see how his family eats, and I'm like, this makes sense. Sense. It's not like, yeah, you're, like, so far off. It's like, you know, oh, you guys are fruits and lettuce family.
Danielle
Yeah.
Brooke
Chips and dip, fam.
Danielle
Yeah, exactly.
Brooke
There's a little bit of everything, you know, not. Neither one is correct.
Danielle
Neither one is correct.
Brooke
Yeah.
Danielle
How you grew up and what you do.
Brooke
Yeah.
Danielle
Oh my God. Too good, Too good. Sorry. I just keep having random anecdotes about Ryan moving. I just are popping into my head as I go. We were. This reminds me of when the boys, you know, we made that joke and people got mad at us about. Boys are wanting a photo and we're like, why would you need that photo? Yeah, no, this reminded me of that.
Brooke
What a man's job.
Danielle
Yeah, we were kind of. We were moving him out yesterday and he was. I mean, I was. Thank God I was there. I'm like, we're tossing that. We're goodwilling that. Like, I was. Thank God I was there because he was like, But I. I'm like, no, you haven't touched us in a year. I was being crazy.
Brooke
And is he sentimental?
Danielle
He was choosing to be sentimental about random things. And I'm like, but when will you use this? Because I. My mom was always a cleaner outer. Like, I've just gotten really good still. That person that said I'm a hoarder still, I think about that. That YouTube comment will live run free in my head.
Brooke
Anyways, I think you're known as being clean. Actually, I've been seeing your comments and they're like, Danielle, you have to loosen up on the clean. Like, have you seen this?
Danielle
Yeah, a little bit.
Brooke
They're like, relax. But like, that's a great thing to be known for. Holy. I want to be known as clean.
Danielle
I know. And it's like, my apartment is messy. I'm also learning that boys are dirty and girls are messy. Not to generalize.
Brooke
Ah. Like dirt. Like, you know.
Danielle
Yeah. Like just a little like smelly. And girls are more like messy. But anyways, Ryan, one of the things he's like clearing. We brought, you know, his bed frame. He's getting rid of that, whatever, all this stuff. And then the pillows. He was like, so do I need to bring pillows? I was like, no. Like, I have like the king size pillows. So like. And I have so many pillows. Like, we're good. And he was like. And I thought he was drinking. He's like, can I keep this one? One. I'm sorry, Ryan. And I was like, haha. Lol. Put it in the trash. And he was like, no, can I keep this one? I've had it since third grade.
Brooke
Is it a decorative pillow or a regular pillow? Wow, that must be one dirty pillow. I know.
Danielle
I'm like, let's keep the pillowcase on. I don't want to see that.
Brooke
Needs to be Sent to be, like.
Danielle
To the studied or to the. To the met.
Brooke
To the met.
Danielle
Sleepy voice.
Brooke
Like, like, dangerous. What's a, like, lethal?
Danielle
Biohazard in a bag. I literally thought he was kidding. He was, like, holding on to it. He was like, I've had it since third grade. I got it at Bed Bath and Beyond. On sale. It's Tempur Pedic. And I was like, how do you.
Brooke
Sleep on it every night?
Danielle
I guess so. It's just. I guess I've just never, like. It's not like he needs it to sleep because he slept over at mine so much, but he was like, I really would like to have it. I'm like, wow. So I don't know where it's gonna go, but it is in the room with us.
Brooke
I will say one thing. As I grow up, I more and more understand the people that travel with their pillow.
Danielle
100.
Brooke
I can't believe I'm. I'm not there yet. Imagine tomorrow, like, when we go on our trip and I'm like, and I brought my pillow.
Danielle
No, and I do get that because there's different firmness. Like, I definitely am at a hotel. I'm, like, feeling which one I like best. Like, maybe you do too.
Brooke
Of course.
Danielle
But this just like, it was like, oh, why do you. Why do you. Like, if I needed my pillow, it's like, like, yeah, of course. Bring your pillow. But if Ryan needs his pillow, I'm like, what do you mean you need that pillow?
Brooke
You don't deserve pillows. Yeah, you don't. That's another joke that I'm.
Danielle
You don't deserve pillows.
Brooke
That's a girls.
Danielle
Girls. It's a girls thing.
Brooke
That's a girl.
Danielle
We have our pillows and our squish mouth.
Brooke
You get it? We don't.
Danielle
You get it. You get it.
Brooke
Like, it's light. It's funny. Haha.
Danielle
Haha. It's funny. Haha.
Brooke
It's funny. Haha. Like, I'm like, no, like, just like, I'm like, you know, hot showers, that's for girls. Like, you know, my. Could take a cold.
Danielle
Yeah. Yeah. Like, I'll use up all the hot water. You can do the cold plunge shower situation.
Brooke
You know, so much is what they do. We.
Hayden
We.
Brooke
We do so much. No, I'm.
Danielle
