Brooke
Like, in two years, a lot can change.
Danielle
I don't care.
Brooke
I'm going to complain to be part of the group.
Danielle
So why do you live here?
Brooke
It corrected itself.
Danielle
People have gotten bumped for my bride's manil.
Brooke
So now that you tell me to do that, I don't want to do that.
Danielle
Now I want to press the red button.
Brooke
That was my hard no whack af.
Danielle
I mean, you can't take photos.
Brooke
I have no interest.
Danielle
We can cut it. Hello, everybody.
Guest/Additional Speaker
What's up?
Danielle
Welcome back to Gals in the Go podcast. I'm Danielle.
Brooke
And I'm Brooke. Happy Wednesday.
Danielle
Happy Wednesday. How are you doing?
Brooke
I'm doing really well, honestly. Like, I feel well. Visions. Well.
Ad Host 2
Beautiful.
Danielle
Wellbutrin is Wellbutrin.
Brooke
It really is. Someone was like, how's your, like, medication lately? I'm like, honestly, I feel awesome.
Danielle
Yeah. Yeah.
Brooke
How do you feel? How are you doing?
Danielle
Feeling great. Yeah. I'm just happy to be in New York. Like, it's just, you know.
Brooke
Yeah, no, we're definitely in a Heat. Wait, but like I said, I don't care. I know. I kind of feel the same way. Like, I'm gonna complain to be part of the group because. Yeah, it's like, it's like how you make conversation with people. Yeah, yeah.
Danielle
No, that's true. Are we actually in heat wave?
Brooke
Yeah, no, it's like 100. Yeah.
Danielle
Oh, I haven't felt that yet.
Brooke
No, no, no, no. It's tomorrow.
Danielle
I mean, like, like it waves, it's waving it coming in and out constantly.
Brooke
What do you actually, as a Floridian, that's really interesting. What do you consider heat wave? It would have to be like 100 plus.
Danielle
Yeah.
Brooke
Yeah.
Danielle
And like, it would have to say it on the weather app. Like, it doesn't often say that on the weather app.
Brooke
They're like, it's gonna be like 100.
Danielle
I'm like, is it though?
Brooke
What? Like in Florida in the summer, does it 100 often or not even.
Danielle
I don't even think even. I guess the humidity makes it feel.
Brooke
No, no, I'm not talking about the feels like temp. I'm talking about the actual hardcore. Like, yeah, like an old school thermometer
Danielle
is like, yeah, 100. I know. I, I don't know. I, I'm just, I, I always say this, but it's like we complain all year about the cold and then it's hot and we're complaining about the hot. So why do you live here?
Brooke
That's literally exactly how I feel. I live like, I'm like 10 months for two, like with the sun. But I like it.
Danielle
The sun hit me.
Brooke
I think it's fun.
Danielle
I think it's fun. It's nice to not wear so many layers.
Brooke
Yeah, it's nice to you, you know, you need to be around like interns to remind you. Cuz like, they're in the city just for the summer and they have so much energy and they're like, I love it. You're so fun. I'm like, you know, I needed that.
Danielle
Yeah. I need to bottle that up.
Brooke
Yeah. And put that and take it. Save it.
Danielle
Yeah. No, it is really cool that we live in New York.
Brooke
And do you ever think that, like, truly. Yeah, I, I, I know that we talk about rom coms.
Danielle
Yeah, of course. Suddenly I see.
Brooke
But I think about that when I'm like on my way back to my apartment on the Brooklyn Bridge. Like, you know, just. And I'm like, I'm just like going home.
Danielle
Like, where are you going?
Brooke
Home, but. Or just, you know, you're driving Past, like the Empire State Building or like the World Trade center, like, whatever it is. Like, you just see these, like, landmarks, architecture.
Danielle
Of course, it's like.
Brooke
It's just like my backyard.
Danielle
And you kind of have to remind yourself, because sometimes if you're in your apartment, well, not in yours, you can see everything from your building. But, like, if you're in your apartment, you just see, like, a wall. You forget, like, oh, I live in New York City. And you go outside and you look up and you see that Empire State Building all lit up. It's like, I live where people vacation.
Brooke
No, it really is the dream. Like, you know when you go somewhere else and you're like, when in Japan, where you're like, I live in New York. People like, oh, New York, York. Or. No, you didn't get that big reaction.
Danielle
New York. A lot of people in Japan, they've only been to, like, la because I think it's a quick flight. Did you have that experience or Hawaii.
Brooke
And I'm like, I've actually never even been there.
Danielle
Me either. Well, I was. But I was like, three, so I don't remember. But I've seen a lot of people go to Hawaii and then Japan. Fun. Or on their way back from Japan, go to Hawaii. Yeah. Because it's a little pit stop.
Brooke
I could see that. I. I feel I'm not very well traveled on the West Coast.
Danielle
Me either. Like, not at all. Like, we stopped in Seattle on our way, and I was like, oh, never been here.
Brooke
Never been there.
Danielle
Yeah, a lot of the west coast, like, Montana, that would be cool to go to. What else is over there?
Brooke
I'm like, do I want to, like.
Danielle
Yeah, for the West Coast.
Brooke
What trip did you go on that you went on, like, a western trip?
Danielle
I've gone to Jackson Hole.
Brooke
That what you're thinking of? Yeah.
Danielle
Which is very similar. So I feel like I got the taste.
Brooke
You're like, I'm good. Yeah.
Danielle
But I haven't done the Grand Canyon. Have you?
Brooke
No, I have no interest.
Danielle
No interest.
Brooke
Like, I actually would pay to not go there.
Danielle
Like, I. I don't want to, like, hike it. Just want to, like.
Brooke
Yeah.
Danielle
No.
Brooke
Oh, my God. I see so many hiking horror.
Danielle
Horror stories.
Brooke
Not about the Grand Canyon. That's, like, a popular destination.
Danielle
I know what you're talking about.
Brooke
I see it. I'm like, that looks so beautiful. I hope everyone has fun. Like, you know, it's. It's one of those places. I'm like, I'll stick to my Brooklyn Bridge.
Danielle
Yeah, no, that's How I feel about camping, for sure. I'm like, you go have fun. I will be.
Brooke
I know. And I hate to be, like, so judgmental. Like, I don't want to yuck your yum, but, like, it's if. If that brings you joy and that fills up your cup, that is so awesome to me.
Danielle
Like, yeah,
Brooke
I have literally no interest. Like, actually, that would be punishment. I would have to be compensated.
Danielle
Yeah.
Brooke
Do you have, like, things like that that you would have to be compensated to do that other people, like, are paying so much money for?
Danielle
So you see us doing a camping brand deal.
Brooke
Just know the check was large and your wedding.
Danielle
Yeah, I feel like you get a pass because you need money to, like. Sorry. Brooke gets to do all the brand deals, and you guys can't say a thing.
Brooke
Yeah, no. My mom is, like, contributing a brand. Was, like, needs one with, like, gray hair. And I was like, mom, like, I know that this is, like, a lot, like, you know, like, for hair color, like, but I need you to send me pictures of your gray hair.
Danielle
And she's like, would she do that?
Brooke
Yeah. No. She literally was like, she does not seem like contributing. She's part of the team.
Danielle
She's like, okay. For the wedding.
Ad Host
Yeah.
Brooke
Yeah. Like, look, we have. We have a problem.
Danielle
To show my grace.
Guest/Additional Speaker
Enough, bro.
Danielle
Like, is this good enough? So I saw you guys did your first, like, wedding planning meeting in person.
Brooke
We did. I wanted to do it in person because I was like, this feels legitimate, you know?
Danielle
Yes. It's more fun that way.
Brooke
Together to, like, get the energy. It's so funny. My mom, because she's only talked to the wedding plan on the phone, and I guess she never saw pictures of her, but I'm like, what? My mom is like, she's. She's 20 years younger than I thought she would be. I was like, mom, what did you think? Like, she thought it was gonna be
Danielle
someone her age, perhaps.
Brooke
I have no idea. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And she's like. I mean, I don't even want to assume a woman's age. Whatever. She's, like, young and cool and amazing, and she just gets the vision. And she was. You know, she's just, like, done so many of these, and, like, really note, she's like, no two are the same, and you could tell, like, it really is. And around her office, like, she was, like, pointing to, like, pictures, being, like, well, at this one, like, we had this. Or, like, pulling, like. Yeah. So yeah, it was always, like, the desk and the.
Danielle
Like, you guys sat down the tight
Brooke
ASMR typing on the MacBook. It's like you want.
Danielle
Okay, so you'll do this for the ceremony. Not that you're there yet, but it
Brooke
was like literally therapy though, though. Because we're like talking through things and like she was like, so the ceremony. I was like, well now that you bring it up. And like talk to my mom was like, what are we thinking?
Danielle
You know, like religious wise and stuff.
Brooke
Yeah, I think we decided that. We. We decided. Cuz honestly this was like I was a little unsure about it. My wedding's like two years away by the way. People are like, what the heck? That's like you could decide that the last like the ceremony. It's not the least important but like you can decide that later.
Danielle
Like, but I feel like people ask and so for sure, for sure.
Brooke
And Ben is Jewish. I'm Jewish because my mom is Jewish, but.
Danielle
Right.
Brooke
My parents were married. I'm trying to think by like a non denominational like person, I think. Yeah. And it was just like.
Danielle
So like they're clearly not gonna like make you do something.
Brooke
Yeah, no, they have. They're like, whatever you want to do.
Danielle
Yeah.
Brooke
And I was like, you know, I would like to be married, I think by a friend. Like that was like my thing.
Danielle
I was like, oh, I want to
Brooke
be married by a friend. And then I started like throwing out some names and Ben was like, ah. None of these were like really speaking to me. Sorry.
Danielle
That's funny. I have one in my head that I thought you guys would do.
Brooke
Yeah. It is a lot of pressure on one person to be fair. Like that is. They're on a job and they're like, I've seen them before. It like I saw this one guy recently and he was like sweating so much. He was like, I just can't wait till I get this over with. It's cuz it's like really stressful.
Danielle
You're worried for them, of course.
Brooke
But it's such an honor to be part of such a special day. I agree. But you want to do a good job. And then you're like, oh my God, I don't want to flub it. Whatever. I cannot believe the Gretchen manager did that with no notes, by the way.
Danielle
I think about it's the craziest thing. And he did a great job.
Brooke
I. I can't. No. Then I'm thinking, I'm like, maybe it's actually my manager. Like. But I was like thinking of. No, it's like, okay, whatever. But then Ben's family, like they have like, asked, like, will you be married? Like, you know, by a rabbi, whatever. And at first, like, my natural instinct is, like, I just hate doing what other people tell me to do. Like, I'm like, so that person, you
Danielle
want to just do the opposite?
Brooke
It's like, well, now that you tell me to do that, I don't want
Danielle
to do that now I want to press the red button.
Brooke
Yeah, exactly. Like, no, no, no, we're going to do. No, yeah, whatever.
Danielle
Of course.
Brooke
But then I, like, really, honestly, my body bladders, like, she kind of pushed me in this direction. Like, she was like, look, if. If you don't really feel strongly about it.
Danielle
Yeah.
Brooke
And you have other people that maybe do feel strongly about it. Like, maybe that's something that.
Danielle
That could be a win for them of, like, something that they feel like they're really a part of.
Brooke
Yeah. No, and honestly, Ben has a close relationship with his rabbi. He's, like, traveled with him and stuff. So that's why I was like, it's like from child, but, like, you know, and he's really cool. I actually met him at their sister's wedding. Whatever.
Danielle
You've met him already.
Brooke
Well, to be fair, though, my thing was, this is so fucked up. I don't know if people are going to say, this is fucked up.
Danielle
We can cut it.
Brooke
Is that, like, I didn't want someone that, like, knows him but doesn't know me?
Danielle
Yeah, no, that's fair. Like, you'll need to do meetings and, like, get to know him.
Brooke
No. And, like, my mom was like, brooke, you need to write down, like, what you want him to say. Like, you know, Brooke is funny.
Danielle
Brooke wrote that.
Brooke
Brooke is talented.
Danielle
Yes, Right. Very, very beautiful.
Brooke
Yeah. The most strikingly gorgeous.
Danielle
Very patient.
Brooke
Yes. Incredibly patient.
Danielle
No, I feel like you do, like, meetings with them. I actually, this whole time, kind of thought, until you said efficient. I thought maybe you would do religious.
Brooke
Yeah. And it, like. And then I've learned that, like, you can pick and choose. Like, because I was like, oh. There's, like, certain things. Like, you know, like, because we're not, like, so. So religious, like, we do not, like, keep closure. We don't, like, do about, like, whatever. We're very much so, like, culturally Jewish. I feel like, definitely, I think that you can pick and choose. Like, you really can.
Danielle
La carte.
Brooke
Yeah.
Danielle
What speaks to you?
Brooke
Not this. Yeah.
Danielle
Like, are you gonna do. I'm sorry, I don't know. What's called Many steps on the.
Brooke
Smashing the glass. Yeah, yeah, for sure. Perfect. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So there's like a signing thing. Like a ketuba signing, which is, like, basically, like. I don't want to say this the wrong thing, but I'm pretty sure it's like the. Like, the marriage contract, like, in that you, like, signed before and you have, like, people, like, co sign it with you that are, like, witnessing people in your life. Yeah. But I think that's to be Jewish. I'm sorry.
Danielle
Oh, I was assuming family anyway, so.
Brooke
Yeah, I think you do. Like, maybe something. I'm not exactly sure. Yeah, yeah, I'm gonna learn all this stuff. It's definitely. Really, I don't have to convert, like, because, like, I am Jewish, but, like, I didn't have a God Mitzvah, so I, like, don't necessarily know everything. But honestly, I would be willing to, like, go through some, like, education, learnings about it, like, through, like, meetings with him. Like, I really would.
Danielle
Yeah. With the rabbit, I feel like you'll just naturally learn things and he'll learn more about you. I realize how. I'm amazing. You are.
Brooke
I don't want to be like, I'm
Danielle
Ben is like, yeah, no, that's not fair.
Brooke
And then. And Brooke was there, too. Like, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
Danielle
That's. That's actually an interesting thought to have
Brooke
because I've been to some weddings when it's like that.
Danielle
Like, you could tell. Like, they know.
Brooke
Yeah. Like, they're like, this person. Like, you could just tell. Like, they're like, they're the best person ever. And then she met.
Ad Host
Yeah.
Danielle
Like, it's, like, not fair if it's, like, one of the person's, like, best friends or a classmate or whatever, because, you know, they are. But sometimes, though, they've spent time with both of you.
Brooke
I think it's nice when it's someone who's part of, like, truly both of their love story. Like, maybe it's one of their friends, but, like, they saw the whole thing from the beginning or, like, they. Yeah, they were, like, a big part of it.
Danielle
Totally. No, that's really true.
Brooke
I have no idea, though. Like, I have. Oh, I'm doing a thing, like, a video with my mom that's going to be, like, published on, like, a news source. I'll post it eventually. But it's, like, your opinion on, like, wedding things, like, difference of generations and. Yeah, it's really interesting.
Danielle
It was interesting. Her answers versus.
Brooke
We haven't filmed this yet. Yeah.
Ad Host 2
Oh.
Danielle
Oh.
Brooke
But I didn't send her the questions ahead of time because I want to get her Live.
Danielle
Yeah.
Brooke
Feedback, you know, really thinking about it beforehand.
Danielle
That'll be fun.
Brooke
Yeah, but there's so many wedding opinion things that are really, like, Europe. Like, you can decide, like, it really is your day. Ultimately, like, there is a formula to a wedding, of course. But, like, ultimately, like. Yeah. And I was thinking about it. There's, like, certain pieces that you don't even think about. You're just like, yeah, of course. Like, the. The couple, like, enters the room, but it's like, do you want a grand entrance? Do you want, like, the person to go on the mic and say, like, welcome, so and so.
Danielle
Have you gotten decision fatigue yet or.
Brooke
No, no, these are, like, micro. We don't have a venue. Like, these are like, literally just the big.
Danielle
She's just telling you, like, these are
Brooke
things the ceremony, I guess, is important to know because, like, if you're having, like, we need, like, a hobba, like, and stuff.
Danielle
We need to, like, set design.
Brooke
Yeah, set design. So, like, that's definitely, like, I guess a little more important, like, these little micro decisions.
Danielle
Those are so pretty.
Brooke
Yeah, it's gonna be gorgeous. Look, it's gonna be a beautiful wedding.
Danielle
And you told me earlier today that you have, like, a general vision now.
Brooke
I do. I.
Danielle
Show me.
Brooke
I think my Pinterest got me.
Danielle
Like, your Pinterest is finally.
Brooke
It corrected itself.
Danielle
Corrected it.
Brooke
Yes. Because I was getting sort of stuff. Can I. I'll say something. Like, my bit. One of my big things. Like, she was like, tell me. Like, hard nose. And I was like, no string lights. That was my hard. No.
Danielle
Yeah.
Brooke
Nothing against it, but that's. It's a. It's just a directional thing. Like, you know what I mean? I was like, no farms. I said no farms. I don't want to silo my wedding. I don't want there to be no barns. No.
Danielle
Kind of gives outdoor.
Brooke
Exactly. And I love that for people. Like, I really do. But that's just not my aesthetic.
Danielle
Like, and that kind of helps her understand, like.
Brooke
Okay, exactly.
Danielle
Like, those little things that you can actually vocalize is really helpful for her.
Brooke
Yeah. But then you, like, start looking at all these wedding pictures, and you're like, everything is string lights. Just because it is very illuminating and, like, warm.
Danielle
Yeah.
Brooke
I'm like, what am I going to have?
Danielle
Maybe you could find an alternative of.
Brooke
I like to. Yeah. Like lanterns. You do a lot of. I'm into, like, drapery. Like, a lot of drapery with, like, backlighting something.
Danielle
Yeah. Like soft lighting under the drapery. Is that what you mean?
Brooke
Yeah. Yeah, yeah, there's a lot of, you know, construction, set design. Truly set design. Yeah.
Danielle
So crazy.
Brooke
And we're not doing a band and my mom was like, that's great. Like that probably freed up a lot of the budget and it was like, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
Danielle
So are you, you're gonna try and get a DJ like that does events and weddings or are you trying to.
Brooke
Yes, of asked my friends yet. But like that's what I'm getting. Yeah. I mean I'm like going to dinner with my friends this week hopefully. You know, like, I want. I want to have like one of my DJ friends. I have like two like. But I want to hear them DJ the afterparty. That would be like in my perfect world.
Danielle
Okay. Afterparty.
Brooke
Yes. I think you need a wedding DJ for the wedding. Cuz you want them to play Michael Jackson. You want them to.
Danielle
How many times.
Brooke
Michael Jackson. I need Michael. No, I need like, I want and people that can.
Danielle
Someone that could get people on the dance floor and like, really? Or I don't know. Do you want them announcing?
Brooke
No, no, no. They're mute. No, no, no.
Danielle
They forgot. Yeah. You don't like when they speak.
Brooke
Don't speak. They don't have the right to speak.
Danielle
So what about. It's like now we're gonna let the bride and groom do their first dance.
Brooke
Like it just happens. It just happens. The music changes and we go. Yeah, it's a cute change. Honestly, I want a quick first dance. Like it's. It's not gonna be good.
Danielle
Have you guys talked about your song? Obviously it's like the.
Brooke
Honestly, no, we have.
Danielle
That's a fun, like dinner topic.
Brooke
Yeah, that is fun.
Danielle
I wonder what you guys would do because you don't like listen to a lot of like sl.
Brooke
No, no, we don't. But I think, I guess you could do like a slowed down cut of. Yeah.
Danielle
There's so many versions of everything.
Brooke
Yeah. Like the Grand Dungeons. Like I'm like, it's corny but like, I want to be like, you have recognized. Yeah. Like I can't just like spawn there like, and be like, oh wait, there
Danielle
does need to be an entrance.
Brooke
But it needs to be like there's certain things that like we've learned from other weddings because like sometimes people enter and it's like, yay. And like it's like weird for some reason. It's fun when everybody's already on the dance floor.
Danielle
Like, right.
Brooke
There's also so many elements of your day you like can't control. Like, that's like. You do have to, like, just, like, let go and, like, let it happen sometimes.
Guest/Additional Speaker
Yeah.
Danielle
I think the wedding planner can help with some of that. Of, like, making sure people are where they need to be, at what point
Brooke
get on the dance floor. But then again, I hate a wedding. Like, sometimes these wedding planners, like, I've, you know, been in weddings.
Danielle
Yeah.
Brooke
They are like, you can't take photos there. You can't do this. You can't do that.
Danielle
I'm like, really?
Brooke
Yes. And I can't stand that.
Danielle
I mean, you can't take photos there.
Brooke
Like, it will be cocktail, or we, like, go step outside or something.
Danielle
Like, take a photo.
Brooke
And like, they're like, you can't be out here. Like, you can't take photos out here. I'm like, okay, this is where the lighting is.
Danielle
Is, though, like, oh, I haven't experienced that yet, but I have not been to as many weddings as you. That's tea.
Brooke
You learn a lot of little things. And it's so easy to be like, you know, I. I don't want there to be any lines at the bar. I want there to be, like, so many drinks. But then it's like, okay, then you need literally 20 bartenders. Like, you. You know what I like, so that's not gonna happen.
Danielle
So it makes you realize, like, oh, like, the. All these things I thought were so important. Like, okay, I see why maybe other people haven't done this.
Brooke
Yes. Or I mentioned the. The wedding planner. I was like, well, you know, we mentioned, like, maybe because it's so annoying if you have to wait in line for the bar, but you just want a beer.
Danielle
Yeah.
Brooke
Like, maybe we have a Grab and Go station. She's like, oh, you want cans at your wedding? And I was like, no, I. I guess I don't want cans.
Danielle
Like, oh, because, like, aesthetic.
Brooke
Think about it. Yeah. Well, that's, like.
Danielle
That's funny the way she rephrased it. You're like, oh, I guess. Do I not want care?
Brooke
I was like, now that you say it, I. I guess. I don't know.
Danielle
I guess it'd be prettier if they had their beer in a glass.
Brooke
It's just interesting. Like, the way that she thinks about things is so smart. Like, she's, you know, everything. Literally everything. And this is just like, the preliminary meetings and stuff, you know, so it's very.
Danielle
Obviously, you don't need to say who, but does Ben know who his best man is?
Brooke
He doesn't. And I'm like, The competition is kind of fierce. Like, I've. You know, so you guys got to step it up.
Danielle
Wait, that's crazy. Yeah, he's got some good contenders.
Brooke
Yeah. It's also, like, the wedding's in two years. Like, even going together, the invite list could change. So fraudulent doing it.
Danielle
Because I'm like, I know. I'm over here texting Brooke. I'm like, so are you gonna invite this person? And you're like, I don't know.
Brooke
Yeah. I feel like, especially the social media friends, like, they do change a lot into, like, in two years, a lot can change. I've been seeing, like, Jazz and Halle like, saying that they weren't at, like, certain people's weddings. Yeah, right.
Danielle
Like, I wish blah, blah was at my wedding because now we go on so many trips together or whatever. No, it's true.
Brooke
And it's so true things.
Danielle
And that's just, like.
Brooke
That's life. I mean, that's gonna happen. But it just. I feel like in this industry, like, you can get close with someone pretty quickly, I guess in any. Like, it's just, like, co workers at a job.
Danielle
But, like, especially when we first all moved here, we all got so close because we were all going.
Ad Host 2
So true.
Danielle
Now there's literally so many events that, like, you just don't see everyone the same. But, like.
Brooke
Yeah.
Danielle
So true.
Brooke
I know. I've been putting whatever. I, like, start to do a list. I get stressed.
Danielle
Do you have a running list? And then people get bumped or added?
Brooke
I haven't bumped anybody.
Danielle
I, like, definitely should. You should do that.
Brooke
Okay.
Danielle
Like, just, like, start writing people's stream of consciousness. And then. Yeah. Some people get bumped. People have gotten bumped for my bridesmaids, though, so. Yeah. And I don't. I'm not even engaged.
Brooke
No. But that's, like, it never changed. Like, that is. I mean, that's the experience of being in your 20s.
Danielle
Yeah.
Brooke
If. If I got married five years ago. Holy. I want to be whack af. Like, truly whack a doodle, you know?
Danielle
Yeah. I guess. Because it's like, you're closer.
Ad Host 2
It.
Danielle
It is crazy because. Yeah, if you get married right out of college, it's like, that's, you know, all your college. Then as years go on, you kind of see, like, who you're actually hanging out with more and.
Brooke
And it change. Even that changes, though. Like. Yeah, that's kind of like why I'm not having bridesmaids. Not that I'm like, the people that would be. Would be out of my life. I Do not feel that way. But, like, that's why only Daniel will be in my wedding.
Danielle
I did say that stuck with me.
Brooke
I filled out, like, a form, and it was like, like, for the wedding. And it was like, oh, like, who will wedding party? And she was like, I see you put one person. I was like, yep, that's my best right there. I like, it's my podcast co host and my best friend.
Danielle
Yes. It's really. I was talking to someone the other day about you, and I was like, oh, my co host. She's like, that's so cool that you, like, could say co host. I was like, I guess so.
Brooke
Yeah. What do you think?
Danielle
I'm asking you so many questions that you don't know yet. But, like, are you going to do a table of just you and Ben?
Brooke
That's another. My mom was asking me. She's like, brooke, you got to think, do you want long tables or do you want circular? And honestly, I don't. What do you, like, What? I need to start polling people. Like, what do they like?
Danielle
I feel like it's. It's personal because it's like, do you want to be sit. Like, I know for me, like, I'm gonna want to be at a table with people because you're gonna have so much fomo. Like, everyone else is having fun.
Brooke
I want to. Sorry, Let me.
Danielle
I meant bride and groom.
Brooke
I want to be at a table with my friends.
Danielle
Okay, sorry. That's what I meant.
Brooke
But I feel like you don't even sit down at your own wedding.
Danielle
Bride around.
Brooke
Like, I want to go around. I want to make sure I say hi to everybody. I want to take a picture. There's so many times that I don't take a picture with the bride because, like, it's not like, hey, let's take a picture. Like, I want the photographer to follow me around and be like, let's take pictures. You know what I mean?
Danielle
Yeah, that's helpful.
Brooke
You want those pictures, like, I mean, God damn. Like, you want to look back, like, 40 years from now and be like,
Danielle
she was at my wedding. Yeah, no, that's really true. Also, did you notice people went ham on our tik tok clip about, should the bride be in your wedding dump? People were like, oh, no. I'm, like, offended if someone. But it's because we don't always get photos with the bride. And then you feel weird taking a photo of them from afar and posting
Brooke
their look before they.
Danielle
Yes.
Ad Host
I'm terrified.
Brooke
Me too.
Danielle
No way. I'm the reason that I don't even
Brooke
try to post too many, like details.
Danielle
Like decoration. No, literally, it's like just my dress.
Brooke
Yeah. Like me outside. No view. Like just that.
Danielle
This episode is sponsored by better help mental health in 2026. I'm so grateful that you and I feel really comfortable talking about it, but that's not always the case. I feel like there's really big stigma with mental health. And actually betterhelp came out with this 2026 State of Stigma report. And 85% of Americans believe getting support is wise. But 74% of people say society discourages them from doing so.
Brooke
I. I hate that. I hate that there's sort of like a gap here and like you people feel like, guilty. I know I have sometimes for like seeking help but like you really shouldn't. And better help just makes it so easy. Like you, you really. You could just reduce the sigma by starting yourself and it. It really couldn't be easier.
Danielle
They. It really couldn't. They have over 30, 000 therapists, you guys. Better help is the world's largest online therapy platform. They also have therapists that work according to a very strict code of conduct and are fully licensed in the U. S. They also did the initial matching work for you so you can kind of focus on your therapy goals. A short questionnaire that'll help you identify your needs, but also if they don't get it right the first time, you can totally switch your match, no problem.
Brooke
Love that we, we are huge proponents of therapy here at gals in the going. Who doesn't want to do therapy from bed? Like I wanna.
Danielle
I've done it. I've done audio only.
Brooke
Yes.
Danielle
Have you ever done that?
Brooke
Yes, of course.
Danielle
I want to go for a walk. I want to. Want to talk. I want to sit in a park. I want to be in bed. I've done it in bed too.
Brooke
You're so right. It's the best way to do it. Don't let stigma stand in the way of support. Start therapy with better help. Sign up and get 10 off@betterhelp.com Gals that's better. Brooke
Love that it locks out humidity and tames frizzy hair so it keeps your style sleek and smooth no matter what the day brings. They're sweat resistant. It comes in this easy to use twistable packaging. Like I said you could just. I feel like you have like a little kit for the gym. Like you know when you're gym kit, gym.
Danielle
You love a kit.
Brooke
I love a kit. Put this in your kit.
Danielle
Like no, it is perfect. I also really like the color of it. It's easy to find in my bag. I also was really happy when I found out it was a flake resistant formula that applies without a white cast. Cuz I've definitely used sticks in the past that leave a white cast. Especially if you have like darker hair. Hello. No thanks.
Brooke
You're so right. I also love that it can contains coconut oil, castor oil and shea butter. Cause like I want it to like be, you know, oiling up my hair well, it's like going to work. I don't want it to just be
Danielle
like, at least it's good ingredients and you're happy with it. So be slick with the Got2B wax stick. Visit Got2B US for more information. I'm sure a lot of you can relate, but there's just something about getting ready for a night out with the gals that's almost more fun than the actual night out. I mean, we all know I love to throw in some Drake, take my time doing my hair and makeup and enjoy that. Oh my gosh, that perfect pregame drink.
Brooke
Yes. I feel like the perfect pre game truly sets the tone for the night. And what better way to set the tone than with Malibu Pink. It's truly the best summer get ready with me drink. It's vibrant, it's bold, it's got fun new fruity flavors of guava, pineapple and coconut.
Danielle
No, I, I already know Malibu Pink will be coming with us on all of our girls trips this summer. It's perfect for the girls like us, me who like to take shots. But if you're not one for shots, it also pairs perfectly with A lemonade for a cute and easy cocktail moment. I feel like I would do the shot.
Brooke
You.
Danielle
You would do, like the cocktail?
Ad Host
Yeah.
Brooke
I'm definitely going to be sipping it as a mixed drink, but while I get ready also, it's like this gorgeous, vibrant pink color. We talk about it. You guys know that's my favorite color. And scream summer.
Danielle
And with rooftop season here, you guys. I know. You know, we all know. Brooke really wants me to throw a rooftop party at my apartment. Call back to a few episodes ago. Malibu Pink will be there as my get ready with me hype up drink.
Brooke
This is making me very excited for summer. Get ready with Malibu Pink. Find Malibu Pink at a retailer near. You. Must be 21 or older to purchase. Please drink responsibly. For additional information, visit Malibu.com and follow @Malibu drinks us on IG or at Malibu Rum on tick tock.
Danielle
Must be 21 or older to purchase. Drink responsibly. Malibu Pink White rum with tropical liqueur, 21 alcohol, volume 2025. Imported by Bruno Ricard USA, New York, NY. Brooke, as I've told you, I'm adding more color to my apartment. And thankfully, Wayfair has made it so easy for me to, like, filter through things and just kind of make my space feel like me. And right now, me wants color.
Brooke
I. I love that with Wayfair. Like, I feel like I put off, like, furniture buying a lot. Like, oh, my God, it's expensive. Like, whatever. Yeah, the prices on Wayfair make it, like, so easy to just, like, if you want to change your aesthetic, like, change, like, you can. It's manageable.
Danielle
No, I'm literally, like, wanting new dining chairs for our apartment. And so I'm working with interior designer. She sent me these really expensive chairs, and I was like, can we do Wayfair? Like, straight up, can we do Wayfair? And they look exactly the same.
Brooke
Stop.
Danielle
Yeah. I was like, do you mind finding the Wayfarer, like, version? And they're.
Guest/Additional Speaker
They look the same.
Danielle
I bet they're the same. They're incredible. So I was really, really excited about that. And there's just, like, so many easy pieces. Like, if you need a little bathroom storage or you just need.
Guest/Additional Speaker
They just. They have everything.
Danielle
The filters, the styles. Like, if you want more barn chic or minimalistic or, I don't know, any outdoor.
Brooke
Great outdoor stuff, entertaining, like, truly anything. I feel like they just have. Have so much stuff on there, like, even more than you can possibly imagine. Like, if you're looking for the most, I Will literally put in like the dimensions of something extremely niche.
Ad Host 2
Yeah.
Brooke
Before they have it.
Danielle
You're so right. Like, I was looking for a deer print rug. They had it. They had multiple options. It's just the best. We got two more outdoor chairs from Wayfair for our house in Florida because we loved the two that we got so much. So if you're ready to upgrade your home for way less, head to Wayfair.com right now to shop all things home and get your space ready for less. That's W-A-Y-F-A-I-R.com Wayfair.
Brooke
Every style, every home.
Danielle
Yes. And that's why it's not because people think it's so disrespectful. It's like you just went to the wedding to get dressed up. Like, no, we're going to these weddings because we love these people very much and we're willing to travel for them.
Brooke
That I would argue that it's actually more respectful to give them the time and space to post about their own wedding on their time with the content that they want when we just post our blurry ass iPhone pictures. Because that's all that we have.
Danielle
Yes. And like, also because I would want people to do that at my wedding, I actually don't want people posting me at my wedding until I say they can.
Ad Host
So.
Brooke
No, there's going to be an embargo.
Danielle
There's going to be an embargo. I don't know what that'll be. I don't think you know yours either.
Brooke
But like, like, nothing unreasonable.
Danielle
Yeah.
Brooke
Just give me a day.
Danielle
Just give. Just give me.
Brooke
Give me 10.
Danielle
Give me 10. Give me ten. Give me ten. I think love Island's just about wrapped up.
Brooke
Thank God. Thank God I have my life back.
Danielle
Yeah, I know. But it is so nice to like, get in bed and be like, I have something to watch, but it's late.
Brooke
Would you. You watch it in bed?
Danielle
Yeah, because Ryan doesn't watch. So I like, get in the other room and watch.
Brooke
I'm. I'm like, he's opposite bedroom. Yeah. And I'm in the living room. But then I like, then it turns into like, then I do my little errands. Whatever.
Danielle
I love your little.
Brooke
And then I'm up and I'm like, it's what I am. Oh, my God. Like, I feel like that happens all the time.
Danielle
No, I know you. I really get wound up after watching Love island too.
Brooke
Yes.
Danielle
You're like all. And yeah, I know I said I liked Corbin a few weeks ago. Obviously not anymore. Brooke saw it first. Yeah, he's.
Brooke
I don't like any of them. There's really not a singular Caleb. Louis. Caleb is the only person that is like that. I like the rest of them, I wouldn't care if they get voted off. Like, I don't care. Kada is going to have it. Mark my words. I'm saying right now, massive career as a model.
Danielle
Yeah. She's so beautiful. Also. I stalked her tick tock the other day. She's like a baddie.
Brooke
Yeah. But she also like every clip that they show of her makeup. No makeup whatever. Like her face is just skin holy. Like.
Danielle
No, you're so right. And I.
Brooke
Her voice, I just think she's so cool. She's gonna.
Danielle
She's so cool.
Brooke
You see her body and you're just like, wow. People look like that.
Danielle
Yeah, people look like that long.
Brooke
Like, I just am like obsessed.
Danielle
No, she's awesome. You're so right. K's really, really cool. And Trinity's iconic.
Brooke
Yes. So funny.
Danielle
I saw your tik tok about her.
Brooke
No, I mean that look. I, I love it. I, I think it's a fantastic.
Danielle
Are you watching UK also?
Brooke
No, I don't.
Danielle
A lot of. No, no, I, I don't think I could.
Brooke
I can't handle both.
Danielle
Yeah, that's a full time job. But everyone's like, UK is better. But no, I definitely see why people are like the season wasn't as good. Like I, I do see that. So. But I'm still enjoying it.
Brooke
Yeah, no, I'm definitely enjoying it.
Danielle
Yeah, it's been enjoyed. I think it's over now by the time this is up a couple days later.
Brooke
But like we do a lot of wedding talk. Hopefully once again that's not too much. But people were commenting and saying that
Danielle
they myself, I mean, you guys let us know if it's too much. But I have constantly so many questions about it and I think it's so exciting. And we're both wearing white today.
Brooke
We are allowed. I let her wear white.
Danielle
Yeah. I think I'm also wearing white today. You know, in this heat wave. My God.
Brooke
I gave her special permission.
Danielle
Thank you so much for the permission.
Brooke
I'm joking.
Danielle
What else has been new?
Brooke
I'm looking at like my calendar. I'm like, what have I like truly been up to? I feel like I, I've just been out and about around the city, like, you know, going, going to my silly little events and.
Danielle
Yeah, you've been, you've been outside how is summer of fun going?
Brooke
Summer fun's going really, really well. Yeah. Yeah, it is. Like, you know, sometimes, like, you go to these events, and, like, they're challenging socially. Like, I don't know if it's me being. It could be me. Like, it could. I could be the bad vibe. Like, sometimes I am the bad vibe. But, you know, like, you go. And you're just like, is it just me, or was I. Was that, like, really tough? Like, you know, like, it was like, often, like, we find something in common. We. Whatever.
Danielle
But when you find a buddy and you're like, are you miserable, too?
Brooke
Right.
Danielle
Miserable. But, like, are you having terrible right now?
Brooke
Like, just. I'm like, let's go a little deeper. Like, you know me.
Danielle
Like, it's nice when we're both going to an event together, because.
Brooke
Yeah.
Danielle
On each other.
Brooke
And I've been going solo, but I have to say a few of them, like, I've just, like, really connected with people. I made some good friends. I will tell you. I made a new friend, and I was like, wow. I. I forgot that, like, I have social skills.
Danielle
You do.
Brooke
It just takes using them to remember.
Guest/Additional Speaker
Yeah.
Danielle
It's just like, I'm so over, like, small talk. It's. You're really good at it. Like, sometimes, you know when you're in a group of three and you go mute? Like, sometimes Brooke. I just let her take it away. I'm like, yes.
Brooke
Oh, my God. I actually am switching psychiatrists, and I just filled out, like, a form. Me, like, talking about all this, and it was, like, a thing. I mean, I definitely have ADHD. Like, 100. Like, I. I know. Like, I'm literally, like, the epitome of,
Danielle
like, didn't I send you, like, whatever, two people at a beach? Yeah. And I was like, one person's just laying there, and the other person's getting up.
Brooke
Exactly. Like, that's me my entire life. Like, whatever. But it was like a questionnaire, and it was like, how often do you feel the need to speak when there's silent? Like, to fill any sort of silence with words, like, to speak, whatever. And I was like, literally all that. Like, I literally. Literally all the time. I was like, wow, that's. I didn't realize that that was like a. You know.
Danielle
That's one of my favorite things about you, though. Like, we'll be in the car, and it's silent, and you just have something to say. I'm like, oh, perfect. Like, she has more to talk about, because I don't.
Brooke
No. Some people Are comfortable sitting. I mean, I'm comfortable.
Danielle
You are comfortable sitting in town. Maybe not with everyone. And me either.
Brooke
Not when I first. When I first meet someone, it's silent right away. I'm like, my God, can we find something that's, like, pathetic if you've been talking to someone for two minutes and you run out of content, I'm like, I just met you. We can find something.
Danielle
No. And that's because you're trying, like, you really care sometimes. I don't care. I'm like, I.
Brooke
About your childhood.
Danielle
Yeah. You're like, so tell me more. No. And you're really good at being present with people and, like, listening. Like, it's a good thing.
Brooke
Oh, that's nice.
Danielle
Yeah. Really true.
Brooke
Am I patient? Because. Oh. He was like, how often do you cut people off when you're speaking? I was like, literally all the time. Literally all the time.
Danielle
I still think that's active listening, though.
Brooke
Yeah.
Danielle
Because I do it, too. And I'm like. I think it's because I'm here. We are doing.
Brooke
Yeah. But sometimes, like. Well. Or is a narcissism when you're like, me, me, me. Like, once again, that's the whole thing.
Danielle
I'm gonna. Yep. Our psychiatrists do therapy with them. Do you do therapy?
Brooke
So it depends on the one. This one I'm gonna start doing, like, oh, it's gonna be really, like, 360 approach. Yes. Because in the past, I've had experiences where it's like, you're depressed. Okay. Take this. Like. Yeah, Like.
Danielle
Yeah, very much so. Like, let's not talk about it.
Brooke
But this is what. I'll give you therapy for that. But this is like a combo approach.
Danielle
That's actually nice, too.
Brooke
Yeah.
Danielle
So they can kind of monitor everything on both sides.
Brooke
Yeah.
Danielle
That's really nice. It's exciting.
Brooke
I feel like that's, like, how it should be. But, like, you know, healthcare, I feel like, has its various, like, ways of whatever.
Danielle
Definitely.
Brooke
Because I didn't really realize that, like, because I was. I never understood the difference between, like, psychiatrist, psychologist.
Danielle
Oh, right.
Brooke
Because psychologist is a doctorate. Like, you.
Danielle
Okay.
Brooke
Like, are not. I don't think you could prescribe pills. Like, that's more. Right. It's more like. It's like the highest level. Like, therapist, essentially. Like, I mean, you have to go to school for a while.
Danielle
So they're talking to, like, therapy, but maybe they have more like science.
Brooke
Yes, exactly. Like, research and stuff. I'm not.
Danielle
Therapist was a psychologist.
Brooke
Yeah. That's great. I mean, that's awesome.
Danielle
Yeah.
Brooke
Yes. But the psychiatrist is like, like, Maryland
Danielle
medical doctor, like, you know, but she's also a therapist. That cool? Yeah, she moonlights as a therapist.
Brooke
Well, I should probably, like. I don't know. We're gonna see. Yeah.
Danielle
Yeah. That's really exciting. She got a new psychologist.
Brooke
Psychiatrist.
Danielle
Psychiatrist.
Brooke
Oh, my God.
Danielle
After all that freaking conversation.
Brooke
Yeah.
Danielle
How was the World Cup? We never even talked about it.
Brooke
When you cup was really fun, it's. Katie and I were saying We've been to MetLife for so many different things. Like, I've been for Taylor Swift concert. I've been for a Giants game. Now I've been for the World Cup. It is a different stadium every time.
Danielle
Yeah. It, like, looks different.
Brooke
It looks different. It feels different. This was such a different, like, type of crowd. It was once again, a lot of men. Definitely, like, definitely, like, mostly men. But it was just the people were so passionate, which was so fun to see. I mean, people are passionate, but, like, in a different way.
Danielle
Yeah, it's.
Brooke
Sports are different.
Danielle
Yeah, sports are different.
Brooke
And it's you people that I think they've had these tickets for a really long time. You know, they're really passionate about their teams. Because we're not at the stage yet that it was. It was like, at the stage that you bought the tickets knowing what team it was, because the further into the tournament it goes, right? You just buy it. You're like, oh, I got semifinals tickets. Let's see who's there.
Danielle
So these are people that just.
Brooke
They're like, regardless, you know, they're like Panama or, like, England. And seeing Jackson, like, so revved up for England, and we made friends with the people next to us, like, who are also. They are touchy. Oh, my God. They're. They're putting their hands, really. And they're, like, grabbing and, like, you know, and they're fully, like, just strangers. And I, like, could get down with it, like, once I'm like, okay, you're safe, like, comfortable, like, you know you're okay.
Danielle
Like, I know who you are.
Brooke
Yeah. Yeah.
Danielle
That is a lot of touching. And you guys really get ponchos. It's wet.
Brooke
Yeah. No, I'm glad that we turned it around because at first I was, like, about to, like, tell off this guy because he was, like, kind of like, standing, like, on.
Danielle
Oh, like, a little too close to you.
Brooke
He was in front of Ben seat.
Danielle
You know, I hate when people do that. It's like, oh, you're squeezing in.
Brooke
So then I turned to my go, what's your Seat number.
Danielle
I've done that before.
Brooke
I was like, what's your scene? I remember Ben, you're six, right? And he was like, oh, no, I'm. I'm seven. And then he was like, oh. Like, you know, back. He's like, seven. And he, like, shimmied back. But luckily I didn't take it further than that. You know, it was still a little close quarters, but it was okay. No, we were like, at the point with the people in the crowd that, like, we got chicken fingers and everyone's eating off our plate, like, with strange. It was like. It was community. That was really cute.
Danielle
Were the people, like, British, too?
Brooke
Yeah, yeah, yeah, they were. Oh, Jack. Oh, my God.
Danielle
It was so cool to see that boy, Jack.
Brooke
That. That Jack.
Danielle
He's really funny.
Brooke
Yeah.
Danielle
I knew this travel together, but then, like, when we were in Japan, I was like, you're like, really, really funny. I know. I was like, I'm saying the stereotypical. Yeah. Like, he's like, yeah. People say that to me sometimes. I'm like, did you not think I was funny before? I was like, I always knew you were funny. Like, we were in the Hamptons with him.
Brooke
Yeah.
Danielle
A few summers ago, but he. He was making me laugh out loud. Lol.
Brooke
Sometimes it takes spending, like, significant time with someone for them to, like, unlock their personality. And, like.
Danielle
Yeah. Even though he's, you know, he was already so funny. Whatever. But I was just like. I am like, keep talking like, you're making me crack.
Brooke
Going.
Danielle
I'm looking forward to cracking up. Have you heard that?
Brooke
Yeah. Yeah.
Danielle
That's so good. Did you see I added more color to my apartment?
Brooke
I did.
Danielle
Just a little.
Brooke
What made you want to do that?
Danielle
I don't know. Oh, well, I wanted to get new dining chairs because I was breaking. And I was just like, you know, let's throw a little color. I don't know. I've just been enjoying color. It's the colorful stripes, I think I've been.
Brooke
Love it.
Danielle
Very drawn to colorful stripes. It's not original, obviously. It's not very on trend right now. But then it just. I was like, okay, I'm wearing a little more color. Let's, like, throw a little. I'm too scared to, like, go anymore. But, like, doing green dining chairs was fun for me. From Wayfair. Shout out. And then what else? I guess that's really it. Color wise. I think I might switch one of the art pieces we have to color. I know. It's really exciting. And now this is so boring. Adult. But like now, the dining chairs we have actually tuck under the table, which. The ones we had before, they were bigger, which was supposedly more comfortable, but they wouldn't tuck all the way under the table. So now we'd like more space.
Brooke
It's the little things, you know, furniture upgrades are.
Danielle
It's exciting because we just resigned our lease. Oh, you did? Yeah.
Brooke
This is year two, right?
Danielle
This is. Yeah, we're going on year two. Did I tell you they raised our rent by like a lot?
Brooke
Really?
Danielle
Yes. And so we were like. I was like, brian, we can't move. And he agreed, but he actually negotiated and got it down a lot. I know.
Brooke
I love a negotiation.
Danielle
I know. Because you know me. I'm like, okay, fine. But like. And I think you would have done the same. Like, you're good at negotiating.
Brooke
I did.
Danielle
It scared his places. Yeah, yeah, that's right. And he did it. And now we're like really happy with it. So we're gonna stay another year. But we still haven't signed. Like some people say, then, okay, sign a two year lease. Have you ever done that?
Brooke
That? No, no, but I know that people do that. Or like a. What's in between, like an 18 month or something.
Danielle
Yeah, I know people do it. But my. I was telling my mom, I was like, people tell me to do that. She's like, they don't know you. They don't know Danielle, Carol.
Brooke
Were they trying to get it?
Danielle
No, they actually weren't trying to, but Ryan and I, like, internally were like, should we do this? Because we lock in the rate. Mainly because you lock in the rape. But it's like, I just love knowing we could move.
Brooke
Yeah, it's the. The freedom of choice.
Guest/Additional Speaker
Yes.
Danielle
I just. I was like, I think I. I am. I'm grateful that I can pay for that little extra convenience, but I just like knowing. So, yeah, we're in for another year. Hey, hey.
Brooke
How about. So are you on a year of living together
Danielle
in August? Yeah.
Brooke
Just reflections. Let's give some reflections on reflections on reflections on living with the man. Was it as bad as you thought it was good.
Danielle
No. I always say I'm like, damn, I definitely could have done this sooner. Which is like, I'm happy that I'm saying that rather than the opposite. I think a big thing, which I don't. You and Ben don't do. You guys like, share a bathroom, right? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Which most people do. I'm just psycho. And we split bathrooms in that, I think for me, like, mentally was really easy going into It. I'm really enjoying it.
Brooke
So whether you're planning a wedding like me or just hosting a party, refreshing your space with art, or you just love elevated, personalized details like Daniel, Danielle, and I do. Minted is one of those brands that just gets it. Everything is designed by independent artists, so it always feels unique and not cookie cutter. Every time I get an invite in the mail that is, like, truly beautiful, gorgeous, like, so stunning. I'm like, obviously, this is minted. And you know, Danielle and I are full swing in our wedding guest season. And the minted stationery, the minted pieces that arrive at my door, like, I can just tell, like, they are. They are top notch guys. I've actually already been looking at Minted for my wedding and for my wedding and activities, you know, like my engagement party and stuff. And I've found so many designs that I'm so excited to use for all of our wedding events. They have an amazing concierge team that will help you design everything for your event. I'm already, like, thinking about this stuff and, like, it gets overwhelming with the invitations and the signage and the place cards. But the concierge team is free and it's honestly wild for how helpful that is. They also just launched really fun custom shapes for invitations too. So you can do things. Things like martini glass shells, cowboy boots. I love that. I love when you get, like, the invitation suite that has, like, all different types of pieces of paper, but they all coordinate. Like, it's gorgeous. Okay. And one of the biggest perks is that Minted will actually print all of your guest addresses directly on the envelopes for free. Oh, my gosh. If you've ever had to hand address invites, I'm literally just doing some thank you notes right now. And I can tell you I don't like handwriting. So, like, this is huge. Okay. So Minted is it if you are planning a wedding or maybe like, your bestie is like, be like, hey, you. You should check out Minted. It's what the gals are loving. Okay. And you could use code gals for 20 off your order at Minted. That's code gals for 20 off of weddings, parties, stationary, gifts, art, and more. I like, every afternoon. I look forward to, like, my afternoon, like, run to pick up, like, my sweet treat, like, my cold, refreshing beverage. Like that me like that 2:00pm slump. Like, you fight it. Like, I go to Duncan. Personally, I'm going to Duncan. I'm getting my icy cold refresher. And honestly, like, it carries me through the rest of my Day.
Danielle
It, it you need something to look forward to. We talk about this all the time and that's why we have Duncan. Duncan's helping everyone stay cool this summer with their lineup of refreshers. These drinks, you guys, they are packed with bold fruity flavors and served ice cold.
Guest/Additional Speaker
Very important.
Danielle
Heavy on the ice cold please.
Brooke
Heavy. Cuz it is so hot outside. Like all you want is something refreshing but you want it like sweet. You, you also like want it like perfectly done your way. I love that you can kind of like create your own. You can actually try flavors with like the base of a green tea, a sparkling water lemonade or their new limeade.
Danielle
Yeah, that it's, it's unreal. You can like, you guys know I'm like a sparkling water gal, so I'm mixing it in with the sparkling water. But you could also do green tea or lemonade. So then it's really like you feel like you're on your little barista.
Brooke
I absolutely love that. They also have like the amazing fan favorite classics like the mango pineapple, the strawberry dragon fruit and they also have right now a limited time black cherry and pink pineapple.
Danielle
It's seriously amazing. Like Brooke said, it's just something to look forward to that afternoon routine like when you're just feeling that slump. So head to Duncan today and find your favorite refresher. Dunkin Refreshers contain less than 1% fruit juice. Limited time offer. I don't think there is a more
Guest/Additional Speaker
perfect sponsor for, for me personally than Laureen Co. You guys know I've been on my dental health journey and I've learned throughout the years. I talked about this a lot at our live shows. A ton of what you eat and drink like coffee and tea and acidic foods and drinks can really do long term damage to your teeth. So I am leveling up my chewing gum routine with Lorenco. Lorenco is a better for you chewing gum that uses the same mineral mineral your teeth are made of to support daily enamel health. I remember my dentist in Florida, he was always telling me about the remineralization of your teeth. And my dad's always trying to get me to do different things like this and so I was really excited to find out that there's a chewing gum. Like I love that I'm chewing gum and I'm like, oh wait, I'm literally helping my daily enamel health. It's just, it really just makes me so happy. Lorinco uses the mineral that your enamel is actually made of to strengthen your enamel and repair damage. It comes in Tons of flavors too. I obviously love the mint one. It tastes good. It lasts long actually, which is nice. Your mouth feels fresh obviously and then you have whiter teeth as well. It's just a really great thing. I'll chew it after meals or if after I had like coffee or something acidic.
Danielle
And I'm really, really proud of myself.
Guest/Additional Speaker
So I want you guys to check it out as well. Right now, Laureen co is offering our listeners up to 50 off to buy laureen.com/gals. That's by Laureen. L-A-R-I-N-E.com gals for up to 50 off. I swear, when it's warm outside, I am just more motivated to move. That's why I am so obsessed with stacked right now. It's a female founded wellness brand that believes movement is essential for a well balanced life. And you guys, they just launched their newest product. Brooke and I have been trying it out. It's the patent pending stacked adjustable weighted vest. It's versatile, functional and makes it easy to add resistance to the movement you're already doing. Whether that's a walk outside or a workout at home or sometimes I'm literally just walking around my apartment and I just put it on.
Danielle
It's incredible.
Guest/Additional Speaker
Also, always love the stacked mat. If you guys don't have a stacked mat, like that's where you need to start. You need to have one of those. The way they fold up is so nice. I love how they're kind of like this two in one. It can be used as a block for added versatility in your workouts and then also extra support for whichever way you move. Like if you want more support on your knees or whatever it may be. And it's just so aesthetic.
Brooke
Like I, I love it.
Guest/Additional Speaker
It's just twice as thick as a standard yoga mat. It's super lightweight. Like I could go on and on. I also just love their weights. They're adjustable, which is really cool. It allows you to flex between 2, 4 and 6 pounds. But the weighted vest, it's really so amazing. It's adjustable from 6 to 8 pounds. You can adjust it the shoulder straps, there's a mesh pocket to add things in. It's really just kind of a perfect situation. In General, visit shop stacked.com gals on the go and use code GALS at checkout for 20 off your purchase. That's s h o p s t a kt.com gals on the go AND use code GALS for 20 off your order.
Danielle
But then I think I Said this on the podcast. Sometimes I'll be like, like, this morning, someone was in our apartment, and I. And Ryan was trying to find his wallet. I was like, oh, have you checked your bathroom? I'm like, she probably thinks we have our own rooms.
Brooke
You sleep separate?
Danielle
I was like, no, we sleep together. But, like, no, I'm really, really happy. I'm so happy we have that second room. Like, I know you are.
Brooke
Yeah. Yeah. It's nice to have space. Especially when one. Once again, one person is working from home.
Danielle
Like, yeah. Stuff like studying, interviews.
Brooke
Yeah.
Danielle
Zoom meetings. Or like, even last night, he was calling his mom, so he went in the other room, shut the door.
Brooke
Privacy in your own home. Yeah.
Danielle
Yeah.
Brooke
Because even though, like, we share everything, you know, we're on top of each other. Yeah, I feel the same way. But, like, it is nice to be like, I need to call my parents.
Danielle
Yeah.
Brooke
I need to, like, you know, catch up with an old friend and, like,
Danielle
have my privacy 100. No, I really, like, what is something. I think at first I was getting used to him waking up so early. I was like, like, I'm never gonna sleep in again. But now I'm just kind of, like, on his schedule. I mean, I don't always get out of bed when he does. I feel like, you know, I don't either, but, you know, I wake up.
Brooke
Do you guys have a shared calendar? How do you operate the schedule?
Danielle
No, we don't have a shared cal. We, like, send each other Cal invites for things, but we don't. We thought about getting. Do you guys have the skylight calendar? Was it you. We thought about doing that, but then, like, no. It's just a lot of, like, communicating. Of, like, sometimes I'm like, oh, when is he coming home? Because I want to eat dinner. But then he's coming home so late, and I'm just hungry. Ready for dinner.
Brooke
Yeah.
Danielle
Do you guys.
Brooke
We have an iPad mini that's like. Like, it's like the house iPad, but I also use it for, like.
Danielle
Oh, yeah, you made it for.
Guest/Additional Speaker
Yeah, yeah.
Brooke
And so we sync both of our calendars to that, which is kind of stupid because I can't say when I'm out, but, like.
Danielle
But that's cute. Yeah. Yeah, you've said that when we're out, you're like, I have to go home
Brooke
and check my cat. That's the one. Because I think I would get overwhelmed if it was on my phone or on my computer, to be honest, because, like, that's, like, a lot of calendars in One I know you could uncheck and stuff, but, like, it's just nice to have it on that device. We have, like, a separate, like, Apple account. Like, a separate.
Danielle
Oh, that's so. Couple of you.
Brooke
Yeah. When we set it up, we're like, I guess this could be its own thing.
Danielle
Yeah, yeah. It's its own entity, really. Didn't you say you guys made a bank account together? Or is that someone else?
Brooke
Yeah, we did. We did make a bank account together. Real adult.
Danielle
So I know you're like, domestic partners.
Brooke
Yeah, no, I was like, wow, we're real. I called my account about it. I was like, oh. Like, okay. So we set up this bank account. Like, what should we do? And he was like, put money in it.
Danielle
Like, put money in it.
Brooke
Do something. I was expecting it to be like, a big. Like, I was, okay, we've got it. Like, I feel like you're expecting this big moment. And he was like, no, you just start using it.
Danielle
Like, start using it. Put money in when you feel. Have you guys got the inkling or the itch for a pet yet? I feel like that's, like, the next step. Maybe that's after you get married.
Brooke
No. Yeah. No, I. Well, because we're doing the long engagement, so. No, I, like, yes. And I want a cat.
Danielle
Yeah.
Brooke
But, like, I can, because Ben's, like, really allergic to.
Danielle
Can't, like, take a medicine.
Brooke
No, I know. That's why I said I'm like, just figure it out. Like, I don't know.
Danielle
Like, have you ever seen him be around a cat and be alert? Like.
Brooke
Yeah.
Danielle
Have the symptoms. Okay, so it's real. Because some people, like, Ryan says he's allergic to cats.
Brooke
I just, like, no cats allowed.
Danielle
Yeah. Big no. I don't think he likes cats because
Brooke
I think that actually, like, could like, a cat.
Danielle
Like, I could so see him liking cats.
Brooke
They're chill, they're easy. I don't have the stamina for a dog right now. I don't think.
Danielle
Yeah. Do you think you'd get a dog? Does he like dogs?
Brooke
He didn't really grow up with us.
Danielle
He didn't grow up.
Ad Host 2
Yeah.
Danielle
It's definitely a thing. If you, like, didn't grow up with one. You don't understand the hype. I feel like you're going to.
Brooke
I want my kids.
Danielle
Like, I was going to say, kids are going to want a dog.
Brooke
No, I want to have a dog one day. And I feel like. Like, I see when I, like, picture my life for myself, like, I would, like, with a Dog. It's just living in an apartment obviously adds another layer to it.
Danielle
Yeah. And like, if you're just so tired one morning you have to take them out and it's snowing, it's raining.
Brooke
When you travel and you hire the dog walker, like, that is expensive. It adds up, like, to trust them. Yes. Yeah. They're just coming in your apartment with all the other ones like that. I know. I see the dog walker, like coming to pick up like dogs on our hall, and they have like eight dogs. I'm like, wow, this is like, not it from our building. From all over the building.
Danielle
No, it's like, so true. And then you have to think about, okay, like, is he gonna be okay with these dogs? Because, like, honestly, Finley's not great with some of the dogs. Yeah.
Brooke
It's not because he daycare.
Danielle
No, no. We have like a person that comes to our house and like, you know, like a friend, whatever. But he. I don't think we took him to the dog park enough when he was little because it was like Covid.
Brooke
Yeah.
Danielle
So he didn't get as much socialization as Miley did. Like, he, like, he doesn't know how to act around other dogs. He's not bad to them, but I feel like he sniffs their butt a little too long and then they bark and like, a little off putting. I hate walking him sometimes. I'm like, there's another dog coming. I like, try to divert. Yeah.
Brooke
See, I grew up with my, with my dogs. We never took them out of that. Like, they were home dogs.
Danielle
That's how Miley was. Yeah.
Ad Host 2
Yeah.
Danielle
She's out back vibes.
Brooke
Huge yard.
Danielle
Yeah.
Brooke
Swim in the pool, whatever you want. Like, they loved their life.
Danielle
Here's your home. On property.
Brooke
They stayed on property. Like, but they had a good property. Trust me. They were living it up. But they never saw like the. The only two dog. Unless like a dog walked by on the street or whatever. But I always wondered, I was like, why don't we take the dog on walks? And my mom was like, we just don't do that.
Danielle
Sorry.
Brooke
Like, there's like literally no answer. She's like, we just.
Danielle
I think there's just a lot going on when you have kids. Whereas now that we have Finley, my mom and I reflect on it. Alex. You know, my mom likes to go deep with everything.
Brooke
Oh, that's sweet.
Danielle
You know, we really didn't take Miley on a lot of walks. Like, she also just wasn't as active as a dog as Finley. But, like, I think like, when you don't have kids and you're not as busy with, like, it's like, oh, taking the dog for a walk is an exciting thing to do. The kids, like, I. When I go home, I want to walk the dog. We were younger. I don't want to walk the dog.
Brooke
No, that was a chore.
Danielle
Yeah, that was a chore. I don't want to unload the dishes. Just like, I don't want to take the dog for a walk. So I think it's also, as you get older, and I think a lot of families, they probably. Well, now people are so into walks, but, like, walks weren't a thing when we were younger.
Brooke
We were not going for your evening walks.
Danielle
I bet high school girls go for walks now. We do not go for a walk.
Brooke
I bet on my train, right. My trainer told me that high school girls in the city are taking hot Pilates. I was like, I mean, maybe they'll
Danielle
live to 100 then. Honestly, 120.
Brooke
No. I don't know if it's good.
Danielle
Like, you don't think.
Brooke
Well, I don't know. I know you're not supposed to do it when you're pregnant. I know that for sure. Like, that is.
Danielle
I'm all for slander on Hoplotties because I don't like it.
Brooke
Yeah, no, I think you, like, you could build it honestly, with my. Well, beautiful. Like, I realized that, like, I can't really do the heat so well. It's not really great for, like, heat.
Danielle
Said she stopped doing it because she was getting inflamed from it.
Brooke
Yeah, no, everybody's body truly reacts. That's why you have to do what works for you. But she was saying that, and I was just like, that's what the teams are doing. What, like, workouts were you doing? You doing this whole cycle in high school?
Danielle
Where's the end when it, like, finally opened? No, I was, like, going. I was, like, doing random workouts. I was filming videos, YouTube videos. Workouts to do at home. Like, so lame.
Brooke
Oh, my God.
Danielle
They, like, they went triple platinum. My dad the other day on Facebook was like, you know, I was watching some of your old YouTube videos the other day. They used to get a lot of views.
Ad Host 2
Brutal.
Brooke
That's.
Danielle
And I guess Freddy came in the room and was like, no, but so many more people, like, less people are watching YouTube as a whole. And I was like, yeah, exactly.
Brooke
I actually think the opposite is true.
Danielle
Really. There's tick tock and there is.
Brooke
But I feel like YouTube is, like, going crazy.
Danielle
No, I think YouTube, because I don't. I love you too.
Brooke
I get the stats.
Danielle
We'll make videos forever. But I think people. More of our viewer. Okay. More of my viewers, I think are now going on short form or listen to the podcast. Like, how many times people come up just. I used to watch videos because it's not as convenient.
Brooke
It's always used. Yeah, I know. It's a lot.
Danielle
Always used. Never do. Never. I watch your videos right now. Yes. Oh, yeah.
Brooke
Oh, that's so funny. No, I was. When I was in high school, I was doing the gym too, but I didn't know what the to do in the gym. I was so clueless. I feel like I would do some cardio and then, like, go into the. The side room and do crunches for two minutes and then leave.
Danielle
I know. How's your workout journey going with your personal.
Brooke
It's great. I'm doing a lot of solid core, too. Like.
Danielle
Oh, building that in.
Brooke
I'm trying to get 10k steps a day. Like, really dry. Like, if I don't hit it, like, I'm walking around the apartment, like, I'm like, actually being nuts.
Danielle
Are you? Where you don't have your apple watch on?
Brooke
I have in my bag.
Danielle
Because you want to get your steps. It's like.
Ad Host 2
Yeah.
Danielle
No, you want to know because literally the other day I was walking around my apartment, unpacking, doing all these things, and I'm thinking I. I probably hit 10,000 steps, but I don't know because I don't wear anything to track.
Brooke
The health app on your phone does
Danielle
tell you it does, but you have
Brooke
to hold on you.
Danielle
Yeah, because I've thought about that.
Brooke
Yeah. So, yeah, no, I. I'm really like. And it's like such an, like, arbitrary. Like, it doesn't really matter. It's just like, more so being mindful about, like, sometimes, like, when I am, like, towards the end of the day and I'm like, not there, it's like, oh, I'll take a quick run to the grocery store. Like, whatever. Like this.
Danielle
It's nice. And especially in the summer, it's like, I give myself passes in the winter, but in the summer it's like. And we live in the city, you should be able to hit 10,000. And if I hit 9,000, I'm like, okay, fine. Oh, sets later.
Brooke
Yeah, no, I'm forgiving with myself. But, yeah, I've been hitting the solid court. Like, you really, like, it's amazing how fast, like, the abs, like, you feel like, just like, they get More defined, like, not that I believe it.
Danielle
No. Everyone says that.
Brooke
I swear. It's like.
Danielle
It's amazing. I. I haven't even been doing Pilates at all.
Brooke
Really?
Danielle
Yeah.
Brooke
What? But you went to the gym today. What are you doing at the gym?
Danielle
I just walked on the treadmill on an incline. I was like, you know what? The fact that I even got up this early because I wanted to go with Ryan, like, and it was so crowded, I was intimidated by the gym because we went to Equinox, didn't go to, like, our gym.
Brooke
I'll do ball bangles on the wrist and do some arm workouts.
Danielle
Yeah, I love sculpt. I think I like sculpt. Sculpt, bloody sculpt, whatever those things are. Like, I just like the Equinox classes. That's where I'm comfortable at this moment. But then when I go to Hamptons, which much. I'm not going out as much this year, but I like to go to New York. Pilates there. So we're going to the Hamptons, you and I, very soon. You guys will see.
Brooke
Yeah.
Danielle
Just for a little trip. Not, like, anything crazy.
Brooke
Oh, my God. Well, we're just ladies in white here. We're just.
Danielle
We're just ladies in white. Always love sitting down and talking with you. Hope you guys are liking the new studio. We're still loving.
Brooke
Oh, my God.
Danielle
So freaking cute.
Brooke
And enjoying this summer. I can't believe, like, whenever I'm in the thick of summer, I, like, forget that. In the thick of summer.
Danielle
Yeah, we're, like, in summer. We gotta enjoy it. Some are fun.
Brooke
I know. And, like, I need to start, like, being like, no, I'm. I'm out of office, like, on Fridays. Like, I need to, like, say yes and have fun.
Danielle
I. I absolutely love that. Also comment down below anything you guys think we should bring to the studio to put on the shelves. Like, funny things that, like, make sense or cute things. Just anything you guys think.
Brooke
We have an award.
Danielle
We have an award.
Brooke
Remember we got sent that award we have in my office? And, like, I was like, I'm gonna keep.
Danielle
Keep this hanging up, though.
Brooke
No, I have it just, like, near my. Like, on my bookcase. We have it. We have one award.
Danielle
We have one award. We could bring that. That's a good one.
Brooke
That is a good one.
Danielle
I like that.
Brooke
We should try to get 100k on YouTube and then we could get another award. But you said no one's watching you.
Danielle
No, no, people are watching YouTube. But I was like, dad, like, my viewers those people that were watching that video either left or they're watching, like, my Instagram reels instead.
Brooke
They're watching your stories.
Danielle
They're watching my good engagement trend.
Brooke
Yeah, so do you.
Danielle
Anyways, we love you guys so much. Thank you so much for watching, listening, Follow, subscribe, like, comment all things. See you next week.
