I don't even think even. I guess the humidity makes it feel.

That's literally exactly how I feel. I live like, I'm like 10 months for two, like with the sun. But I like it.

Yeah, it's nice to you, you know, you need to be around like interns to remind you. Cuz like, they're in the city just for the summer and they have so much energy and they're like, I love it. You're so fun. I'm like, you know, I needed that.

Yeah. No, it is really cool that we live in New York.

And do you ever think that, like, truly. Yeah, I, I, I know that we talk about rom coms.

But I think about that when I'm like on my way back to my apartment on the Brooklyn Bridge. Like, you know, just. And I'm like, I'm just like going home.

Like, where are you going?

[Brooke]

Home, but. Or just, you know, you're driving Past, like the Empire State Building or like the World Trade center, like, whatever it is. Like, you just see these, like, landmarks, architecture.

[Danielle]

Of course, it's like.

It's just like my backyard.

[Danielle]

And you kind of have to remind yourself, because sometimes if you're in your apartment, well, not in yours, you can see everything from your building. But, like, if you're in your apartment, you just see, like, a wall. You forget, like, oh, I live in New York City. And you go outside and you look up and you see that Empire State Building all lit up. It's like, I live where people vacation.

[Brooke]

No, it really is the dream. Like, you know when you go somewhere else and you're like, when in Japan, where you're like, I live in New York. People like, oh, New York, York. Or. No, you didn't get that big reaction.

[Danielle]

New York. A lot of people in Japan, they've only been to, like, la because I think it's a quick flight. Did you have that experience or Hawaii.

[Brooke]

And I'm like, I've actually never even been there.

[Danielle]

Me either. Well, I was. But I was like, three, so I don't remember. But I've seen a lot of people go to Hawaii and then Japan. Fun. Or on their way back from Japan, go to Hawaii. Yeah. Because it's a little pit stop.

[Brooke]

I could see that. I. I feel I'm not very well traveled on the West Coast.

[Danielle]

Me either. Like, not at all. Like, we stopped in Seattle on our way, and I was like, oh, never been here.

[Brooke]

Never been there.

[Danielle]

Yeah, a lot of the west coast, like, Montana, that would be cool to go to. What else is over there?

[Brooke]

I'm like, do I want to, like.

Yeah, for the West Coast.

What trip did you go on that you went on, like, a western trip?

I've gone to Jackson Hole.

I have no idea. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And she's like. I mean, I don't even want to assume a woman's age. Whatever. She's, like, young and cool and amazing, and she just gets the vision. And she was. You know, she's just, like, done so many of these, and, like, really note, she's like, no two are the same, and you could tell, like, it really is. And around her office, like, she was, like, pointing to, like, pictures, being, like, well, at this one, like, we had this. Or, like, pulling, like. Yeah. So yeah, it was always, like, the desk and the.

was like literally therapy though, though. Because we're like talking through things and like she was like, so the ceremony. I was like, well now that you bring it up. And like talk to my mom was like, what are we thinking?

You know, like religious wise and stuff.

Yeah, I think we decided that. We. We decided. Cuz honestly this was like I was a little unsure about it. My wedding's like two years away by the way. People are like, what the heck? That's like you could decide that the last like the ceremony. It's not the least important but like you can decide that later.

Like, but I feel like people ask and so for sure, for sure.

And Ben is Jewish. I'm Jewish because my mom is Jewish, but.

My parents were married. I'm trying to think by like a non denominational like person, I think. Yeah. And it was just like.

So like they're clearly not gonna like make you do something.

Yeah, no, they have. They're like, whatever you want to do.

And I was like, you know, I would like to be married, I think by a friend. Like that was like my thing.

That's funny. I have one in my head that I thought you guys would do.

Yeah. It is a lot of pressure on one person to be fair. Like that is. They're on a job and they're like, I've seen them before. It like I saw this one guy recently and he was like sweating so much. He was like, I just can't wait till I get this over with. It's cuz it's like really stressful.

You're worried for them, of course.

[Brooke]

But it's such an honor to be part of such a special day. I agree. But you want to do a good job. And then you're like, oh my God, I don't want to flub it. Whatever. I cannot believe the Gretchen manager did that with no notes, by the way.

I think about it's the craziest thing. And he did a great job.

I. I can't. No. Then I'm thinking, I'm like, maybe it's actually my manager. Like. But I was like thinking of. No, it's like, okay, whatever. But then Ben's family, like they have like, asked, like, will you be married? Like, you know, by a rabbi, whatever. And at first, like, my natural instinct is, like, I just hate doing what other people tell me to do. Like, I'm like, so that person, you

want to just do the opposite?

It's like, well, now that you tell me to do that, I don't want

But then I, like, really, honestly, my body bladders, like, she kind of pushed me in this direction. Like, she was like, look, if. If you don't really feel strongly about it.

And you have other people that maybe do feel strongly about it. Like, maybe that's something that.

That could be a win for them of, like, something that they feel like they're really a part of.

Yeah. No, and honestly, Ben has a close relationship with his rabbi. He's, like, traveled with him and stuff. So that's why I was like, it's like from child, but, like, you know, and he's really cool. I actually met him at their sister's wedding. Whatever.

Well, to be fair, though, my thing was, this is so fucked up. I don't know if people are going to say, this is fucked up.

Yeah, no, that's fair. Like, you'll need to do meetings and, like, get to know him.

So religious, like, we do not, like, keep closure. We don't, like, do about, like, whatever. We're very much so, like, culturally Jewish. But I think that's to be Jewish. I'm sorry.

Yeah, I think you do. Like, maybe something. I'm not exactly sure. Yeah, yeah, I'm gonna learn all this stuff. It's definitely. Really, I don't have to convert, like, because, like, I am Jewish, but, like, I didn't have a God Mitzvah, so I, like, don't necessarily know everything. But honestly, I would be willing to, like, go through some, like, education, learnings about it, like, through, like, meetings with him. Like, I really would.

But this is what. I'll give you therapy for that. But this is like a combo approach.

So they can kind of monitor everything on both sides.

I feel like that's, like, how it should be. But, like, you know, healthcare, I feel like, has its various, like, ways of whatever.

Because I didn't really realize that, like, because I was. I never understood the difference between, like, psychiatrist, psychologist.

Oh, right.

Because psychologist is a doctorate. Like, you.

Like, are not. I don't think you could prescribe pills. Like, that's more. Right. It's more like. It's like the highest level. Like, therapist, essentially. Like, I mean, you have to go to school for a while.

So they're talking to, like, therapy, but maybe they have more like science.

Yes, exactly. Like, research and stuff. I'm not.

When you cup was really fun, it's. Katie and I were saying We've been to MetLife for so many different things. Like, I've been for Taylor Swift concert. I've been for a Giants game. Now I've been for the World Cup. It is a different stadium every time.

Yeah. It, like, looks different.

[Brooke]

It looks different. It feels different. This was such a different, like, type of crowd. It was once again, a lot of men. Definitely, like, definitely, like, mostly men. But it was just the people were so passionate, which was so fun to see. I mean, people are passionate, but, like, in a different way.

[Danielle]

Yeah, it's.

[Brooke]

Sports are different.

[Danielle]

Yeah, sports are different.

[Brooke]

And it's you people that I think they've had these tickets for a really long time. You know, they're really passionate about their teams. Because we're not at the stage yet that it was. It was like, at the stage that you bought the tickets knowing what team it was, because the further into the tournament it goes, right? You just buy it. You're like, oh, I got semifinals tickets. Let's see who's there.

[Danielle]

So these are people that just.

[Brooke]

They're like, regardless, you know, they're like Panama or, like, England. And seeing Jackson, like, so revved up for England, and we made friends with the people next to us, like, who are also. They are touchy. Oh, my God. They're. They're putting their hands, really. And they're, like, grabbing and, like, you know, and they're fully, like, just strangers. And I, like, could get down with it, like, once I'm like, okay, you're safe, like, comfortable, like, you know you're okay.

[Danielle]

Like, I know who you are.

[Brooke]

Yeah. Yeah.

[Danielle]

That is a lot of touching. And you guys really get ponchos. It's wet.

[Brooke]

Yeah. No, I'm glad that we turned it around because at first I was, like, about to, like, tell off this guy because he was, like, kind of like, standing, like, on.

[Danielle]

Oh, like, a little too close to you.

[Brooke]

He was in front of Ben seat.

[Danielle]

You know, I hate when people do that. It's like, oh, you're squeezing in.

So then I turned to my go, what's your Seat number.

I've done that before.

I was like, what's your scene? I remember Ben, you're six, right? And he was like, oh, no, I'm. I'm seven. And then he was like, oh. Like, you know, back. He's like, seven. And he, like, shimmied back. But luckily I didn't take it further than that. You know, it was still a little close quarters, but it was okay. No, we were like, at the point with the people in the crowd that, like, we got chicken fingers and everyone's eating off our plate, like, with strange. It was like. It was community. That was really cute.

Were the people, like, British, too?

[Brooke]

Yeah, yeah, yeah, they were. Oh, Jack. Oh, my God.

[Danielle]

It was so cool to see that boy, Jack.

[Brooke]

He's really funny.

I knew this travel together, but then, like, when we were in Japan, I was like, you're like, really, really funny. I know. I was like, I'm saying the stereotypical. Yeah. Like, he's like, yeah. A few summers ago, but he. He was making me laugh out loud. Lol.

Sometimes it takes spending, like, significant time with someone for them to, like, unlock their personality. And, like.

Yeah. Even though he's, you know, he was already so funny. Whatever. But I was just like. I am like, keep talking like, you're making me crack.

Very drawn to colorful stripes. It's not original, obviously. It's not very on trend right now. But then it just. I was like, okay, I'm wearing a little more color. Let's, like, throw a little. I think I might switch one of the art pieces we have to color. I know. It's really exciting. And now this is so boring. Adult. But like now, the dining chairs we have actually tuck under the table, which. The ones we had before, they were bigger, which was supposedly more comfortable, but they wouldn't tuck all the way under the table. So now we'd like more space.

It's exciting because we just resigned our lease. Oh, you did? Yeah.

This is. Yeah, we're going on year two. Did I tell you they raised our rent by like a lot?

Yes. And so we were like. I was like, brian, we can't move. And he agreed, but he actually negotiated and got it down a lot. I know.

I know. Because you know me. I'm like, okay, fine. But like. And I think you would have done the same. Like, you're good at negotiating.

It scared his places. Yeah, yeah, that's right. And he did it. And now we're like really happy with it. So we're gonna stay another year. But we still haven't signed. Like some people say, then, okay, sign a two year lease. Have you ever done that?

That? No, no, but I know that people do that. Or like a. What's in between, like an 18 month or something.

Yeah, I know people do it. But my. I was telling my mom, I was like, people tell me to do that. She's like, they don't know you. They don't know Danielle, Carol.

Were they trying to get it?

[Danielle]

No, they actually weren't trying to, but Ryan and I, like, internally were like, should we do this? Because we lock in the rate. Mainly because you lock in the rape. But it's like, I just love knowing we could move.

And we split bathrooms in that, I think for me, like, mentally was really easy going into It. I'm really enjoying it.

When you travel and you hire the dog walker, like, that is expensive. It adds up, like, to trust them. Yes. Yeah. They're just coming in your apartment with all the other ones like that. I know. I see the dog walker, like coming to pick up like dogs on our hall, and they have like eight dogs. I'm like, wow, this is like, not it from our building. From all over the building.

[Danielle]

No, it's like, so true. And then you have to think about, okay, like, is he gonna be okay with these dogs? Because, like, honestly, Finley's not great with some of the dogs. Yeah.

[Brooke]

It's not because he daycare.

[Danielle]

No, no. We have like a person that comes to our house and like, you know, like a friend, whatever. But he. I don't think we took him to the dog park enough when he was little because it was like Covid.

[Brooke]

So he didn't get as much socialization as Miley did. Like, he, like, he doesn't know how to act around other dogs. He's not bad to them, but I feel like he sniffs their butt a little too long and then they bark and like, a little off putting. I hate walking him sometimes. I'm like, there's another dog coming. I like, try to divert. Yeah.

See, I grew up with my, with my dogs. We never took them out of that. Like, they were home dogs.

I think there's just a lot going on when you have kids. Whereas now that we have Finley, my mom and I reflect on it. Alex. You know, my mom likes to go deep with everything.

You know, we really didn't take Miley on a lot of walks. Like, she also just wasn't as active as a dog as Finley. But, like, I think like, when you don't have kids and you're not as busy with, like, it's like, oh, taking the dog for a walk is an exciting thing to do. The kids, like, I. When I go home, I want to walk the dog. We were younger. I don't want to walk the dog.

No, that was a chore.

Yeah, that was a chore. I don't want to unload the dishes. Just like, I don't want to take the dog for a walk. So I think it's also, as you get older, and I think a lot of families, they probably. Well, now people are so into walks, but, like, walks weren't a thing when we were younger.

We were not going for your evening walks.

I bet high school girls go for walks now. We do not go for a walk.

Yeah, no, I think you, like, you could build it honestly, with my. Well, beautiful. Like, I realized that, like, I can't really do the heat so well. It's not really great for, like, heat.

Said she stopped doing it because she was getting inflamed from it.

Yeah, no, everybody's body truly reacts. That's why you have to do what works for you. But she was saying that, and I was just like, that's what the teams are doing. What, like, workouts were you doing? You doing this whole cycle in high school?

Where's the end when it, like, finally opened? No, I was, like, going. I was, like, doing random workouts. I was filming videos, YouTube videos. Workouts to do at home. Like, so lame.

[Brooke]

Oh, my God.

[Danielle]

They, like, they went triple platinum. My dad the other day on Facebook was like, you know, I was watching some of your old YouTube videos the other day. They used to get a lot of views.

And I guess Freddy came in the room and was like, no, but so many more people, like, less people are watching YouTube as a whole. And I was like, yeah, exactly.

I actually think the opposite is true.

Really. There's tick tock and there is.

But I feel like YouTube is, like, going crazy.

[Danielle]

No, I think YouTube, because I don't. I love you too.

We'll make videos forever. But I think people. More of our viewer. Okay. More of my viewers, I think are now going on short form or listen to the podcast. Like, how many times people come up just. I used to watch videos because it's not as convenient.

Oh, that's so funny. No, I was. When I was in high school, I was doing the gym too, but I didn't know what the to do in the gym. I was so clueless. I feel like I would do some cardio and then, like, go into the. The side room and do crunches for two minutes and then leave.

I know. How's your workout journey going with your personal.

[Brooke]

It's great. I'm doing a lot of solid core, too. Like.

[Danielle]

Oh, building that in.

[Brooke]

I'm trying to get 10k steps a day. Like, really dry. Like, if I don't hit it, like, I'm walking around the apartment, like, I'm like, actually being nuts.

[Danielle]

Are you? Where you don't have your apple watch on?

[Brooke]

I have in my bag.

Because you want to get your steps. It's like.

No, you want to know because literally the other day I was walking around my apartment, unpacking, doing all these things, and I'm thinking I. I probably hit 10,000 steps, but I don't know because I don't wear anything to track.

[Brooke]

[Danielle]

tell you it does, but you have

[Brooke]

to hold on you.

[Danielle]

Yeah, because I've thought about that.

[Brooke]

Yeah. So, yeah, no, I. I'm really like. And it's like such an, like, arbitrary. Like, it doesn't really matter. It's just like, more so being mindful about, like, sometimes, like, when I am, like, towards the end of the day and I'm like, not there, it's like, oh, I'll take a quick run to the grocery store. Like, whatever. Like this.

[Danielle]

It's nice. And especially in the summer, it's like, I give myself passes in the winter, but in the summer it's like. And we live in the city, you should be able to hit 10,000. And if I hit 9,000, I'm like, okay, fine. Oh, sets later.

[Brooke]

Yeah, no, I'm forgiving with myself. But, yeah, I've been hitting the solid court. Like, you really, like, it's amazing how fast, like, the abs, like, you feel like, just like, they get More defined, like, not that I believe it.

[Danielle]

No. Everyone says that.

[Brooke]

I swear. It's like.

[Danielle]

It's amazing. I. I haven't even been doing Pilates at all.

[Brooke]

Really?

[Danielle]

Yeah.

[Brooke]

What? But you went to the gym today. What are you doing at the gym?

[Danielle]

I just walked on the treadmill on an incline. I was like, you know what? The fact that I even got up this early because I wanted to go with Ryan, like, and it was so crowded, I was intimidated by the gym because we went to Equinox, didn't go to, like, our gym.

[Brooke]

I'll do ball bangles on the wrist and do some arm workouts.

[Danielle]

Yeah, I love sculpt. I think I like sculpt. Sculpt, bloody sculpt, whatever those things are. Like, I just like the Equinox classes. That's where I'm comfortable at this moment. But then when I go to Hamptons, which much. I'm not going out as much this year, but I like to go to New York. Pilates there. So we're going to the Hamptons, you and I, very soon. You guys will see.

Yeah.

Just for a little trip. Not, like, anything crazy.

[Brooke]
