Oh. Oh, no. I didn't think that far. I just got really excited when we were talking about, you know, we've never done this before. If you're watching a video, we are dressed up today, kind of.

I. I feel we're both wearing black.

We both wore all black accessories.

It. It's a whole vibe, though, going on. You have gloves. The gloves are really giving. I love them.

Happy Halloween, guys. What is. What else is there to say? I feel like we came up with the idea last minute. We're like, let's wait.

Yeah, well. Oh, yeah. That's what I was saying. We've never, like, we always forget when we're recording. So we record like a week before, usually sometimes sooner. And we'll be like, oh, my gosh, that was going to come out right before Halloween. We should lean in. So we decided to lean in a little at first. Actually. I'm not even gonna say because I think we should still do what I was talking about one day.

Yeah.

That doesn't even need to be out. I mean, that could just be what it's.

[Brooke]

That's what I'm Saying, like, that could be next week. Who knows? And then Brooke was like, let's. We could get like a little something. So I trekked on over. I mean, you were fully about to as well, but I went to spirit Halloween this morning.

[Danielle]

No, you braved it for both of us. Was it a pro? Was it a big. It was.

[Brooke]

Well, it was good because I wanted a morning walk, so this was that perfect thing.

[Danielle]

Great.

[Brooke]

It. I actually enjoyed it more than I thought I would. Oh, it was nostalgic to go.

[Danielle]

Tell me about the experience. Was it well stocked? I feel like it was picked up.

[Brooke]

I know it's not yet. Oh, I don't think the last minute stress people have walked in yet because, I mean, it was also a Monday morning. Like, that was just like, you know, there was no one there, but I walked in and of course, like, immediately there's like those automatic zombie things in your face.

[Danielle]

Yeah. Smoke machine. Yeah. Welcome.

[Brooke]

I was probably their first customer because I walked in, like, right when they opened, but they had. Who you gonna call? Ghostbusters and Monster Mash. Those are the two songs I heard while I was in there.

[Danielle]

I'm telling you, it must be those two on a. Those are like the quintessential Halloween soundtracks, right? Yeah, of course.

[Brooke]

Oh, my gosh. And Thriller.

[Danielle]

I'm sure I didn't hear it while Spotify Halloween party.

[Brooke]

Like, yeah. Like, I feel like when people are having Halloween parties, it's like, what do you play? Like, if you want to get seasonal with it, like, those are the three songs. And maybe like, there's probably more that we don't even know about.

[Danielle]

If you just search Halloween vibes and like, some of the. Like, you could look up like that, have that tone of like. Is it like the organ that kind of gets.

[Brooke]

Yeah.

[Danielle]

Like a horror film vibes.

[Brooke]

Oh, for sure.

Yeah.

[Brooke]

No, it was really fun, though. So Brooke was like, I just want some ears. I'm thinking, like, I'm gonna be a cat, so I'm expecting, like a little section of ears. You guys there were. I had to send you probably, like, five photos.

There's a lot to comb through, like, a lot of options to be had. But I trusted one singular photo of these years, and I said, I trust.

[Brooke]

That's why I took that photo, because I knew you'd want those. So I. To the zoom up of those, you.

[Danielle]

Could really go for if. Do you want a furry cat, you want a glam cat. That's kind of what I'm channeling today.

[Brooke]

Brooke went for the glam Cat. And I said, do you want a tail? And Brooke goes, I'm good. Like, did you think I was serious?

[Danielle]

Yeah, I did. I was like, well, I was not gonna show. Like, I was like, I guess maybe if we're go.

[Brooke]

No. Since we're sitting.

I mean. Yeah.

[Brooke]

So you. You have your hat now I got a hat. Classic. Like, have it in your repertoire.

I've never. And I was thinking that I've never been a witch for Halloween before. I feel like everyone. I'm sure. Have you done that before?

[Danielle]

Yeah. Yeah. One of the most recent years, I feel like. Because once again, you wear all black. You wear a hat.

[Brooke]

Yeah.

[Danielle]

You got these tall black boots. Easy costume.

[Brooke]

We're both in, like, black dresses with black boots. Yeah.

[Danielle]

Simple. No. Great.

[Brooke]

I literally went. I knew you wanted to be a cat. I didn't know what I wanted to be. So I just let Spirit Halloween tell me.

[Danielle]

That's always the. It's a fun game. I've done that in years past, too. I'm like, you know, I guess roulette.

[Brooke]

Spirit Halloween roulette.

[Danielle]

That's really funny. You get, like, five costumes, like, absolutely ridiculous. You just, like, spin a wheel or something. That would be kind of fun.

[Brooke]

It is kind of fun. And I also took a little time to gander over at the costumes area because I was like, what are the 2024 costumes?

[Danielle]

For kids or for everybody else, really?

[Brooke]

I just went to the women's section.

[Danielle]

Yes.

[Brooke]

And there wasn't anything, like, super crazy standout, like, pop culture. There's a lot of, like, Barbie stuff still. There's some really cute western costumes, but nothing, like, Thought I was like, oh, that's so 2024.

[Danielle]

Yeah.

[Brooke]

Just kind of bumped about current.

[Danielle]

Interesting. I feel like you gotta get a little, like, Spirit Halloween is like, the. If you're dressing up as a character. Like, if you're doing something that's, like, easy with accessories, like, you grab. But if it's a more original. It's not gonna be at Spirit Halloween, you know, like, this. Spirit Halloween is the mainstream destination. That's where I shop.

[Brooke]

But, yeah, they have, like. Or if you need, like, an accessory, like, it's honestly perfect for today if.

[Danielle]

Like, you want, like. I remember, like, growing up, like, I'd be like, I'm gonna be a nerd. And, like, get, like, the glass.

[Brooke]

Yeah, exactly.

[Danielle]

Cowboy hat, whatever. It may be, like, those little things, too.

[Brooke]

Yeah, no, it was definitely. I definitely was keeping an eye out for our costume if there was any accessories that we needed. But that really Wasn't might be an Amazon thing for us. Yeah. I think you'll need to order.

I know, I know. But luckily we got that two day prime.

Like people really don't like Halloween. I don't feel like relax and I. I get like the scary part. Like I know some people who get like spooked and like understandable but just stay away from the spook.

I. I like cute. I've always said I like, you know, cutesy kitty cat, little girl candy. That energy.

[Brooke]

Yeah. Cutesy Halloween. I've. Have you ever worn like blood, like fake blood gore vibes fx if you will.

[Danielle]

I feel like I did vampire at one point but like the, the. It was poorly done. Like it wasn't like, you know, like I got the thing but like the blood of it all. I was like, ah, no, it's too complicated.

[Brooke]

Yeah.

[Danielle]

Same.

No. Have no. Like, you know, crazy like head injury.

Like the half skeleton? No, no.

I don't really ask that or something and it's like, oh God.

I know I don't. It's very jarring. But I, you know, go for it.

Right here we are saying if you don't like Halloween, you suck.

I appreciate the effects of it all. Like that's. I feel like it's a cool way to like express your like makeup. Yeah. Because any other day would be a.

Little strange, but yeah, it would be a little strange. So if you just need to get it out one day a year, that is fine. One thing I do not like and I'm so glad I used to live right near where they did the parade. Oh. And it. I was land. I was locked in. I was landlocked. Like I could. It was the last two years. I literally was like getting so much anxiety because you couldn't get anywhere because people are up and down like adults.

[Danielle]

Like this isn't the kid day of Halloween, was it? Or it was like a little bit around there, right?

[Brooke]

Yeah. I want us. I think I feel like it was Halloween, but also there's no way around the day. It must be around the day. Because also, it's so wholesome. Going to, like, the West Village. I'm sure Brooklyn has some really cute neighborhoods where the kids are trick or treat. And there's no way that's happening on the same day as this crazy parade that happens down. It's down, like, fifth Avenue or sixth Avenue. I don't know. It was over there, and it was crazy.

Did you see the Tompkins.

[Brooke]

Yes.

Square park dog parade?

[Brooke]

It's so cute.

I feel like this is having. I mean, it happens every year, but, like, this year, it's so viral. It's everywhere. The costumes are so cute with the owner and the dog. I saw, like, ET like, they put the dog in the basket and, like, had him, like. Yeah. The person was riding a bike and they were.

Wait, that's so cute. I need to, like, go unique.

[Danielle]

Like, renditions.

Yeah. I had our friend, took his dog, and he was Harry Potter.

And his dog's name's Potter, so.

I love when that happens. When the lights go down in the classroom and you're like, oh, yes, yes.

I am not practicing cursive today. Like, we're literally just hanging out. My mom brought cookies from Publix. Like, really?

It's kind of giving substitute Teacher energy.

It is. And that we got a. That's us. You're a substitute. No, honestly, I felt like a. Like a substitute teacher this morning. I was like, I'm.

No, I love it. It's like, Danielle's not here. We have Danielle the witch or whatever.

It's like, hey, guys, like, I am the fun one today.

No, I love it. I feel like I would, like, you know how there was, like, subs that you had, like, good subs and not bad subs, but, like, the ones that were, like, preferred and everything.

I got, like, Ms. Danielle today.

Yeah. But it's also. I also think about it now as an adult, because I guess we're adults now, and you think about. Oh, my gosh. Well, they were substitutes. They wanted to make sure that they're doing their job.

They didn't want to get in trouble.

No, you cannot be too lax.

Like, I actually don't know how some of the substitutes were so bad. I know, because that's scary.

The only complaint I have right now is I got a venti and it's low on low ice. Not enough ice to coffee ratio, which some people would say that's good because, you know, you get more coffee. I. The ice is very important to me. In an ice drink. Like, I want to be able to audibly hear it. And like, that's not enough.

Yeah.

Like, I hear the ice.

I have like, my sensory things where I'm like, that's like. But I'm not gonna request extra ice.

No. Because then they go too hard. Like you some. Like there's no drink. Yeah. Then there's no drink.

They have, like, lines. I think that they're supposed to fill it up too.

If I drank all this cold brew, I think I would literally go into cardiac arrest. So, like, unfortunately, I can't do that.

But, like, that's a cold brew.

Yeah. With the cold foam. Oh. And I get. Instead of the vanilla syrup, I get sugar free vanilla syrup. I just feel like it tastes the same. So I just get that one instead.

It was a lovely day. Where did it start? In my bed. I woke up in my bed. It started around 2. So, you know, I'm not a huge day drinker, but I did have a lot of fun. Went to Amity hall with some friends, and we, like, watched the Alabama game. Alabama lost to Tennessee, which is awesome. But it just makes us as Georgia people look so bad because.

I know.

[Brooke]

I mean, they lost to Vanderbilt too, right? Yes, but we lost to them.

[Danielle]

I feel like football is completely flipped upside down though. Yes, right.

[Brooke]

The football is. But it's kind of nice. It's kind of like, oh my God.

[Danielle]

It'S an even playing field.

[Brooke]

Yes. Everything's kind of out of whack. Fully went into this Texas game on Saturday thinking we were going to lose. Like, I really tried that whole low expectations thing and it worked because we was great. That was wild that we won. Like, truly did not think that was going to happen. But at the same time I was like, we are going to be so hungry for this win after losing to Alabama. Like, and they came in so hot. Like normally we're second half team and we came in so hard. It was so good. I mean, still things to work on, but like, it was great game and. But I'm not sad like, because Ryan and I were going to go to Austin and one of the reasons we were like, oh my God, we're totally going to lose. And like, that's a bummer of a weekend. But I'm still happy that we were here because it was so fun. We went back to American Whiskey. Good old George Bar.

So fun. I saw the aesthetic shot the chandelier, I. I turned him and I was.

And Ryan was like, unfortunately we have to go to American Whiskey because we haven't lost since. I've gone there. And I was like, that's wrong. We lost Alabama once when we were there. I'll never forget it. He was like, okay, one loss. Like, he literally was so superstitious about it. And at halftime, like a ton of people in our grade were renting out Amity hall. And I was like, I would love to like go see some of them. And it was a challenge. He was like, if we leave and we lose, I'm gonna think it's my fault. I'm like, Ryan, you are not on the team.

[Danielle]

He, he might be an honorary member at this point though. I was gonna say how happy was, was he with the win. He must have had an amazing night after that point.

[Brooke]

Yeah, we literally just went in, ate pizza, and went home because we were so exhausted, like, watching those games, you know, it tires you out.

Well, you're. Because you're up, you're down, you're. Yeah.

You're glued and. Yeah. So. But it was a great game. And go Dogs. Truly. And we have a bye week. This past weekend, as this episod up, we had a bye week, so there's no game. Like, Brooke, I have zero plans this weekend. Friday, Saturday, Sunday.

My weekend was great. I had a very grandparent heavy weekend. You did? No, it was very. Lots of grandparents.

Yeah. So my. My grandma is in town. She was visiting my parents on Long island. And then the whole idea was that she wanted to come see, like, my apartment, of course. And see that for the day. So she came out with my parents and they came for lunch and she was just so happy. She was taking pictures of quite literally everything to the point that we had to like, actually take her phone out of her hand because, like, she's taking pictures of like, these rooms and I'm like, grandma there's children. Like, you can't be, like, taking, like, in the amenities.

[Brooke]

Oh, in your amenity store.

[Danielle]

Ye. No, in the amenity. Like, you know, we're in the pool, and she's like, what a. Oh, my God. Taking pictures with grandma. There's children in the pool. You cannot be taken.

[Brooke]

It's a little creepy.

[Danielle]

Oh, yeah.

She wants to show her friend.

[Danielle]

She wants to go home and look.

Where my granddaughter lives.

Yes, totally. And have that experience which, like, you know.

A little bit. It's like. It's almost like a Brooklyn accent, though. Like, it's, like, you know, one of the, like, vowels, and.

I don't know. It's different than the Long island accent.

But she's lived many places, so it's, like, a little bit of everything. Yeah. I, like, said in a vlog, I was like, I want to make it up to Maine. And people like, well, you have to, like, why wouldn't you? And I knew that my grandma's coming, so I got, like, it's. It's not necessarily. She also goes. She leaves for the winter and, like, goes to. She's still, like, so mobile. Like, I love it. I love how she, like, lives her life to her fullest, which is amazing. She goes to Portugal for, like, three months in, like, from. Yeah. Like, mid December through, like, March.

[Brooke]

Because you can't really.

[Danielle]

I mean, you can live in Maine, but, like, she's 82 years old. Like, she doesn't need to live in Maine in the winter and, like, be shoveling her driveway. Like, what?

[Brooke]

Yeah.

[Danielle]

And it's, like, rural Maine. Like, I know Ryan's grandparents live in, like, more rural Maine.

[Brooke]

Yeah.

[Danielle]

Like, remote.

[Brooke]

Yeah. I don't. Yeah. They. They be moving to cold places.

Yeah. Yeah. And. Which is lovely, like, some of the year. Yeah. So got to see her. And then it also landed on the same day that Ben's grandparents were having their. Wait for it. 65th wedding anniversary.

[Danielle]

Wait for it. Because that's just, like, I started thinking about it. Oh, anniversary, anniversary. 65 years of marriage. Like, the fact that they're both healthy together, happy, like, oh, my God.

[Brooke]

It's so special.

So special. It was very. Emotionally. Some people were crying in the speeches. You know, they had. It was so sweet. They loved their grandkids, like, just so much. And they had. They had all the. Their two sons gave speeches. Then the grandkids speak, like, so Ben gave me. Yeah. Yeah.

So cute. His Ben has a cousin who's 16 and he gave a speech and it rhymed. No, it was.

The creativity is unreal.

It was amazing. I love like that was the whole thing too. They were like, it's so nice to get together for like happy events.

Like I. Yes, so true. Celebrating anniversaries.

Like, this one girl lives in New York and she has, like, a ton of monitors behind her and she's, like, commentating on it. Like, I am just finding this so interesting. Like, oh, guys, it's the new Rep bodysuit. Or, oh, you know, she's. Please let it be the all green 1989 outfit. I'm still learning what all that means.

Because Lainey was like, if I buy the plane tickets, I'll get locked in. And then, like, I had told her when Kenzie and I went to London night or whatever, like the last. Or our last night there, we bought them last minute and the prices went half. Half the price the day up. However, I don't know, now I'm seeing Miami. A lot of people caught on to this. And even, like, halfway through the show, tickets were still really expensive. So I don't know. I hope Delaney didn't see those Tiktoks, because she's probably getting a little. I'm definitely getting a little nervous, but we just have to go. So we're gonna go to night three. We're gonna. Cause we have, like, Halloween festivities next weekend, so we're gonna fly in on. It's a little risky. We're gonna fly in on Sunday morning and go to night and fly out Monday morning. So we're gonna be great.

The weather, as long as weather's permitting, we can always change our flight to Saturday night if. Yeah, but I was just kind of hoping for a Saturday rot after Katie's party. Valid, so.

Nathan Fielder. So he's like a comedian. I. At first, I, like, didn't get the bit. I was like, is this him or is he acting like, what is it?

Like, it was like a parody of, like, Starbucks. Basically. He started because you can create, like, a something that's very similar. I'm literally drinking Starbucks. You can create a something that is a parody of something so that he was able to use Essentially the same Starbucks logo but wrote like dumb in front of everything. So it's like a dumb venti. High school. I have this picture of me and my friend Lucy. We were thing one and thing two. We also had a dress code, so it's like.

You had to wear your college shirt with that?

No, but, like, it was very particular on, like, the short, you know, Like, I think you still couldn't. I don't remember the rules, but they definitely let us, like, bend them a little.

You were getting pretty crazy there. Yeah.

Shorts. I don't know. This year, me and my friends were mermaids.

Oh, my God. I'm obsessed.

We, like, daily, literally, this is at school. So we had, like, mermaid leggings and these, like, shirts with shells on our boobs. And we were really nervous we were gonna get in trouble.

And you didn't.

We didn't. I don't. I don't. Not to my knowledge.

Wow, that's. That's. You guys are, like, went all out.

[Brooke]

Well, it was a thing. Oh, my God. Did you guys do, like, rate the costumes? No, we had like, a Twitter. Like, it was like an official Twitter at our school. And they would post, like, you could submit your costume, and if the more likes you get them, like, you would win that day.

[Danielle]

And spirit week, too. That was the thing. Yeah. Yeah.

[Danielle]

You guys had really good Spirit.

[Brooke]

But we didn't have homecoming king and queen because that was not inclusive. But then we did this, like, I don't know.

Yeah. What else you got for me?

We. We, like, didn't do a big homecoming dance, but we still had king and queen.

Yeah, I wish we did. That's so cute.

I was an angel. Sophomore year of high school. Like, I got the things I remember, like, running around. We, like, went to my house and then, like, like, didn't sneak out, but, like, we're going out. Like, we're like, drinking in the streets. Like, like, like being s. Calling people, sharing one beer. We're like, I'm going to be crazy.

Yeah. I don't remember what we did in high school on Halloween until, like, the later year, like, junior and senior year, but sophomore and freshman year, like, after.

The trick or treating era of your life and.

[Brooke]

Right.

[Danielle]

Yeah. I feel like it's, like, roamed because, like, people are out, so it's not, like, sketchy to be out because.

Yeah, we just roamed.

Were you in a trick or treating neighborhood?

Yeah, it was fine. I don't think it's a trick or treating neighborhood anymore. So sad. How about you? Yeah.

Yes. My block still is. Very much so. I feel like everywhere I always lived was very, like, community.

Retreating, which was kind of nice because my friends would just come over. We'd like Rome.

I'm not a big costume wig person. Like, where it's like, oh, I did like, the short blonde.

No, it was two years ago. Because last year we were Justin and Haley when I. Which was so iconic because, well, like, literally everyone did it, but the woman that did my hair had done Haley's hair. That for that outfit, which was so awesome. I got really lucky there.

That was a. That was a big costume. And you Guys like blew it out.

Of the part, like.

Cuz Ryan like dedicated to the bit and put the tattoos on his neck and unfortunately one of them were semi permanent, so it took a while to get that one off. Yeah. What were you. Was last year Pikachu or.

No, last year was Belle Beauty.

The corset that I had in the skirt, which was. It was cute.

Mary Jane vibes. And then I was also a devil. And I rented this really cute, cute red set from Pickle and just got ears. And sometimes you just have to go classic.
