Brooke
Hey, guys. What's up? Welcome back to Gals on the Go podcast.
Danielle
It's Brooke, Danielle, and Tori. We have Tori Desimone in the house, also known as, back in the day, Tori Sterling, also known as Mac Cup 101.
Brooke
Sterling's your middle name, right?
Tori Desimone
Yeah, I was gonna say people don't.
Brooke
Know that because that could also be a good alias. Like, Sterling. Like, I feel like makeup.
Tori Desimone
Like, yeah, no, totally, totally. Yeah. No one, like, really knows it's my middle name until I tell them. They're like, oh, what a cool middle name. And I'm like, yeah, yeah, that's a great. I do what I can.
Danielle
Yeah, yeah, we. So we've known Tori. I haven't counted, but many, many, many.
Tori Desimone
At least 10 years.
Danielle
At least 10 years, which is so wild. Like, it feels like truly. Just yesterday, we were all, like, vidcon, like, playing I know. Live. I remember meeting you, like, oh, my God, that's her. Like, I had definitely seen you on YouTube and my, like, suggested row, and I was like, oh, my God, that's her. And you were so nice. And then we all started hanging out all the time.
Tori Desimone
Yeah.
Danielle
Making videos.
Brooke
You're so ahead of your time, Tori. Like, seriously, I have to say.
Tori Desimone
What do you mean? We all started together.
Brooke
We all started together. But the way that, like, I watch these girls on Tik Tok now that do, like, the makeup content that you were doing 10 years ago.
Danielle
So true.
Tori Desimone
Oh, my God.
Brooke
In front of a wall. Like, no, they have their background. They, like, got the HD camera. Like, teaching you how to do, like, you know, makeup 101.
Tori Desimone
Like, yeah.
Brooke
I feel like that you pioneered that.
Tori Desimone
Oh, my God. Thank you so much. I totally don't think I did. I definitely just followed, like, who I loved. Like, I was obsessed with Blair Fowler, Elle Fowler, Michelle Phan. Like, all those girls, Desi Perkins. Like, they were my idols. Like, I would die for them, I.
Danielle
Think, like, because I don't want to get anything wrong, but will you give, like, the quickest elevator pitch of, like, you're, like, through the years, like, how you started and then, you know, you went to Bama, like, high level, like, little, like, because you have done so many cool things. I just want everyone to know.
Tori Desimone
Oh, my God. Thanks. I started on YouTube when I was, like, 14. I was freshman high school doing makeup tutorials. I was just, like, obsessed with makeup, and I was like, this is a cool place to put these little videos. So I did that. It kind of took off, like, my sophomore year of high School carried me through high school, but in. Is there like a quick elevator pitch? I don't know. In high school, moved out to LA to like, really pursue it. Tried my best.
Danielle
YouTube girly.
Tori Desimone
No. And that was like the thing at the time that was so out of school, do online school, move to la and I'm like, period.
Brooke
If you want to be successful. That was like what you essentially had.
Danielle
Brandy Melville and I went to the Grove. Like, I was loving living through you.
Tori Desimone
Yeah, I was like missing a lot of school school for it. Like, it was just fun. Like, it was just really cool. And I was like, let me just like, see where this goes. Moved out to la. Hated it. I was like, it's not for me. Moved home. When I was in LA, I like, put on like the LA 15, like, you know, the freshman 15. That was like me in LA.
Brooke
Wait, I get in the LA 15 too. That's so funny. I was a little over a month though, so it happens so quick.
Danielle
I feel the same way about New York, though. Like, my first year living here, I feel like I was just a sprite, little chicken. And I'm like, I eat out all the time.
Tori Desimone
No, like, it just happens.
Brooke
These are food scene cities. I feel like, yeah. And I. It's like health, but at the same time they also have really good other food.
Tori Desimone
But I was also like 17 on my own alone, and I was like, oh, I can drink alcohol, like, I can party, I can eat, like, I can do whatever I want. So, like, got a little unhealthy out in la. Came home, was looking for somewhere to get into fitness, fitness. Found spin. I was still doing YouTube during all of this. Yeah. Came back and I was like, I guess I should go to college now that I don't want to do, like full time influencing. Didn't have great, like, college scores. Like, I was a fine student, but, like, didn't care about my sat, didn't care about my act. So I never prioritized college. And I was like, where could I know I could get in Bama? So I got into Bama, was like, this works. Went to Bama and you did it.
Danielle
But you like, okay, maybe I just thought you thrived for a little.
Tori Desimone
Okay, I had a month where I thrived for sure. Like, had a great time. But as soon as I was like, you know what? This also isn't for me because I never wanted to go to college right until I came back to high school after LA and was like, what else do I do? You know what I mean? So I Never wanted to go, but I ended up going because it was just like what you do at that age. When dropped out, wasn't for me. Came home and was like, okay, I will full time influence until I have enough funds to open up a spin studio. Because I fell in love with spin my senior year of high school. Then after teaching spin and doing like full time influencing for like maybe six months to a year, I was like, you know what? Market's hot. I'm just gonna do it now. So I opened up my first studio stride in 2018, and now I own four locations of it. So that's like my main thing. But I transitioned kind of out of YouTube and into podcasting in 2019. So now I have my show Manifest with Tori Desmone and that's my podcast, my weekly podcast. And I love that. So I really do a lot of studio work podcasting. And then I just recently started consulting for fitness industry. And that's been really cool. Like boutique studio owners and fit pros that are solopreneurs. And that's what I do.
Danielle
And you have a podcast with your mom, right?
Tori Desimone
Yeah, I moved it on to Manifesto because I was like, mom, I love you so much. But, like, this is honestly a lot, like, doing.
Danielle
Yeah.
Tori Desimone
Weak. Like, it's a lot.
Danielle
Yeah, no, it's a lot.
Tori Desimone
It's a lot.
Danielle
But you guys are so fun when you chat.
Tori Desimone
Thank you. I do have the best time with her. She's my girl.
Brooke
You have the cutest fam.
Tori Desimone
Thank you. Oh, my God. So do you guys. I was saying to you guys, I loved your brother episode.
Danielle
That was so fun here.
Tori Desimone
And I just saw your mom's like, they're amazing. Your dad is always so nice. He's always like, how's spinning going? Good.
Danielle
So sweet.
Brooke
I know. He really pays attention to my friends, which is sweet.
Danielle
It's both of our Philly shows.
Brooke
I know.
Tori Desimone
They're amazing.
Danielle
The best person ever. And also this is a swap. So there will be an episode as well. I don't. I don't know if they're coming up the same week, but there will be on Manifest, which I'm honored. We both love Manifest.
Brooke
And yes, it's in my. A list.
Danielle
Yeah.
Brooke
Rotation.
Danielle
Yeah, A list rotation. Like, it's just. I love the way which we'll get into. Like, you talk about, like, your mornings, like, everything is just so satisfying to talk about. And she's just such a bright light. So we're so happy.
Tori Desimone
You guys are so.
Brooke
No. And I think you're really, like, A good person to talk about. Like, we always say, like, oh, you know, routine. Sometimes you fall off of it, whatever. But I like, you're really, like, not in a psychotic way, but, like, you're very routine. And like, you said, you even.
Danielle
So cheer.
Brooke
That's what I'm saying. Like, yeah, you don't, like, make it everybody else's problem.
Tori Desimone
Like, you know, I really do try to not make it anyone else's problem.
Brooke
But, like, you're very. What's the word? Not disciplined. That's what it is. Because I was gonna say it's not motivated. It's disciplined. And, like, it's evident in, like, the success of your businesses, which is just so amazing. The fact that you've gone from YouTuber to, like, having four locations and fitness, I would imagine it's hard. Like, there's like, business challenges and stuff. Like.
Danielle
Yeah.
Brooke
Are you ever just, like, how do I. Like, I feel like I'm just a little girl. Like, how do you do business problems?
Tori Desimone
All the time. Like, today my mom texted me, and she was like, I need to file for you. I'm like, thank God we have an accountant to, like, tell us this stuff.
Danielle
Yeah.
Tori Desimone
What are we doing? Like, there's a lot of stuff I don't know. And that's okay to not know everything. I don't want to know everything. I don't like. I know what I'm good at. I know what I'm interested in. I know what I want to learn, and I know what to. To delegate out to people that are interested in. In certain things, good at certain things. Like, and I think that's really important with a business is knowing your strengths and then other people's strengths and delegating that out. Like, you can build something great alone, but you can build something extraordinary with a team of people behind you.
Danielle
I love that. And, like, not feeling guilty, because sometimes I feel guilty. I'm like, oh, I don't know exactly. That's through my team. And you feel bad about it, but it's like, no, that's not what I do. I'm work. I'm focusing on the creative.
Tori Desimone
Yeah.
Danielle
I'm focusing on the classes or whatever it may be for your situation.
Tori Desimone
Right. And I think there's a lot power and also saying, I don't know that answer, but I can point you to the person that does because, like, pretending to know everything honestly doesn't serve anyone. It doesn't serve you. It doesn't serve the person that you're helping or assisting. It. It's not good for anyone.
Brooke
Yeah, you're so right. Or like, let me check on. Then I get back to you versus like, feeling like, yeah.
Tori Desimone
And just giving an answer just to what seemed like you're the smartest person in the room. Like, I don't necessarily want to be, you know.
Brooke
Yeah.
Tori Desimone
I always want to be surrounded by people that know more than me. So I can continue to, you know, learn more.
Brooke
Wow, that's incredible. No, seriously.
Tori Desimone
Oh my God, you guys are so nice. I need to come here every day. Oh, you do.
Danielle
Like, we. We actually have this whole. Can we talk about your hate for New York?
Tori Desimone
Absolutely. We could.
Danielle
Like, we're like, how you like in New York? She's like, I hate it. But like, I'm here. We're happy to be here.
Brooke
You're real for that. Like, no, that you're not the thing.
Tori Desimone
Like, it's just not my place. Like, and it is so many people's places. And that's awesome for them. For me, it's just too anxiety inducing for me. Like, too much going on. I really like being like free and open and like having, you know, I can, like, I like being able to get in my car. Like, I'm a suburb girl. I'm a beach town girl. Like, the fact that you live in Florida, like on the water and you live here, how does that happen? Like, I don't understand.
Danielle
You always want what you can.
Tori Desimone
You like growing up in Long island, like, you're primed for this.
Brooke
Yeah, I am. But my mom does not like New York City either. If that.
Tori Desimone
Really? Yeah.
Danielle
Really?
Brooke
Yeah. I thought, I feel like I've said this.
Danielle
That makes so much sense because I feel like when she comes and she's like, I'm in and out. Like, they are so in and out.
Tori Desimone
Yeah.
Brooke
She does not like to spend. My dad likes. My mom does not like New York City. Yeah. Whenever we'd like come to the city for stuff, like, my dad was like, yay. And like, my mom was like, oh my God, can we drive? Like, and it's like, yeah, you're take the train.
Tori Desimone
Yeah.
Danielle
But like, yeah.
Brooke
Yeah.
Danielle
Wow.
Tori Desimone
Like, I come and enjoy my time, but I'm also like the first train out.
Danielle
Yeah.
Tori Desimone
You know what I mean? Like, I'm here, loving it. Kinda can't wait to go.
Danielle
How about like, like Brooks this way? Like if we go on a weekend trip, like Brooks on the first flight out Sunday morning, no matter what, because. Are you the same way?
Brooke
Yeah, that's my thing. I did that this past week and then I Had the whole day once I got back, and I was like, oh, my God, I feel amazing.
Tori Desimone
Even morally, is flying home on a Saturday.
Danielle
Oh, I've never done at night.
Tori Desimone
Or, like, really?
Brooke
Wow, you're really, like, I'm coming for one night. One night only.
Tori Desimone
Yeah, yeah.
Brooke
Actually, on that note, are you drinking right now? Because I know you were, like, sober curious for a second.
Tori Desimone
I wasn't drinking, but last night I did have a glass of Pinot grige.
Danielle
How did it hit?
Brooke
Was that incredible? Yeah.
Tori Desimone
No, it was. It was really nice. I enjoyed it. Yeah. I've been, like, definitely not drinking for a while, and I have had, like, maybe in the past two years, like, five drinks, including the one last night. It's good.
Brooke
Yeah. Do you feel like it's easier to wake up in the morning? Like, you feel better? Like, what would you say the pros.
Tori Desimone
Are for me, Before I stopped drinking, I was never a big drinker to begin with, so I never had hangovers. I never, like, nothing bad ever happened to me. Like, I never got. Like, I've never been blackout drunk. I've never had anxiety. Like, that's never happened. So when I stopped drinking, I was like, I'm just gonna do it to see if it lowers my anxiety. It definitely did. Like, I felt, like, base level anxiety went down. I sleep a lot better now. I. My tabs when I go out are a lot cheaper.
Danielle
What do you do when, like. Because I have a few friends that don't drink and we go to dinner.
Tori Desimone
Yeah.
Danielle
And it's like, you split the check. You split the check. Because everyone, like, maybe split a ton of abs and you get drinks. Like, do you just take one for the team or do people kind of.
Tori Desimone
It depends. Like, it depends who I'm with.
Danielle
Yeah.
Tori Desimone
If it's like a. Like when we. I just went to Miami with my girlfriends and, like, oh, yeah, we would put it all on one card. And then at the end of the weekend, my one friend Rachel was. She just, like, divvied it up, and she didn't put my, like, the drinks on what I owed. But there are other times where I'm like, it's just easier to split it.
Danielle
I know.
Tori Desimone
So, like. And I honestly don't care. Like, yeah, I'm there just to enjoy the time with my friends. And, like, if that means, like, I pay for some of their drinks and I pay for some of their drinks, like, it's fine. It's really.
Danielle
We all have different day. Like, I have days where I'm getting one drink and My friends get four.
Tori Desimone
Vice versa.
Danielle
Like, I think it just depends, so.
Tori Desimone
Right.
Danielle
The good mentality to have, if you can.
Tori Desimone
Yeah. Yeah. I'm lucky in college, able to have that.
Danielle
Yeah. No.
Tori Desimone
Yeah.
Brooke
But I feel like, in, like, now that we're, like, adult adults. Yeah.
Tori Desimone
Crazy.
Brooke
It was like, you actually got an extra shot, so, you know, you got a double. I got to wait.
Tori Desimone
Do you guys feel like this growing up on YouTube? Like, I always feel like we were so young, and now that we're older and, like, we can drink and, like, do adult things, it's crazy to talk about it online.
Danielle
Oh, it's so crazy, right? Yeah. Like, that's still, like, the most. Like, when we were like, oh, guys, I was drunk last night. I'm like, oh, my God.
Tori Desimone
I know. I know.
Danielle
I completely, completely agree. Because we were not trained. We just decided ourselves to not put on the Internet.
Tori Desimone
Well, it was also, like, illegal. Like, it couldn't.
Danielle
Like.
Brooke
And then when we were in our sorority and it was, like, starting to get more socially acceptable, they were like, we will come and find you.
Tori Desimone
Yeah, we will.
Danielle
Not really.
Brooke
No, not actually. But, like, it was scary.
Danielle
Yeah.
Brooke
Because you're sorry. Kind of like that, too.
Tori Desimone
Yeah.
Brooke
Yeah. She was a Zeta at the University of Alabama.
Tori Desimone
I was ap. I was off of you.
Brooke
I thought that you were.
Danielle
She was an AFV at the universe.
Brooke
I'm so sorry. Why did I think that you were Zeta? They're very similar.
Tori Desimone
Very similar. I almost went Zeta.
Brooke
That's what it was. Maybe.
Tori Desimone
Yeah.
Brooke
I feel like. I. So sorry.
Tori Desimone
I thought. That's totally fine. Don't even worry about it. I was also in it for, like, three months. Like, don't worry about it.
Danielle
Had the time of your life, though. I feel. I feel like you really did lean in for a second.
Tori Desimone
I totally leaned in.
Brooke
Yeah.
Danielle
Because I remember you'd be like, bama.
Tori Desimone
Yeah. No, I leaned in. You were touring, and I was like, you'll love it here. Yes.
Danielle
Like, I remember that. Maybe that's what I'm thinking about.
Tori Desimone
Yeah.
Danielle
Do you watch the football games at all?
Tori Desimone
No. No. Like, I see it. I'm like, roll Tide. But, like, that's it. Like, it's fun.
Brooke
It's like an hour of life. It feels like a fever dream beyond. I have some hours like that, too. Like. Yeah. You know, literally, a fever dream. Like, when I went back there and I was, like, having deja vu, I was like, I have been here before. Like.
Tori Desimone
Yeah.
Danielle
Like, weird.
Tori Desimone
That's how I feel.
Brooke
Yeah, it's weird. Anyways, going Back to fitness. I, once again, I just feel like you're so disciplined, but you have, like, such a good balance. Like, you are going out to eat with friends and, like, stuff, which I so appreciate, you know, that you like it's your lifestyle, but you don't let it affect your life, I guess, kind.
Danielle
Of, in a way.
Brooke
And I feel like I struggle with that balance a lot. Like, I'm like, I'm either in it or out of it. Same, you know, like, so how. Just in terms of fitness, how do you have a number in your head of, like, times per week you want to work out? Is it a truly an everyday thing? Like, how do you think about, I guess, like, implementing workouts?
Tori Desimone
Yeah, that is a great question for me. Once you find a workout that you like, it's something that you genuinely want to do every day. So I feel like it's just trial and error until you are like, oh, you know what? I like this. I want to do it again tomorrow. And it doesn't have to be a workout where you're like, I love this. I'm now obsessed. It's my whole personality. But, like, I enjoyed it. I could do it again tomorrow or the day after or something like that. Once you find something that just piques your interest, it does become a lot easier.
Brooke
Danielle and I love Roback's new women's line. It's hard to take off because it's really comfy. And they keep coming out new products. They just released their new clarity half zip hoodie and joggers. They are made to be worn as a set, but you could also wear them individually. They're so cute and comfy. They also have a really nice, like, soft, lightweight fabric. You can also try their fleeces. I. I love a fleece. And the Roback fleeces are so cozy. They have a great fit. They just hit right at the waist. They have amazing features. I love, like, the front pocket. You know, it's cold in New York. I'm wearing, like, a fleece and then my big winter coat. Okay, finally, Robacks Tempo hoodies and joggers are really, really soft. They're so dang soft, it's unbelievable. I. I don't know how they did it, but they're hard to take off. Okay. The fabric is truly one of the softest pieces of clothing. So I am so all about Roback. If you need gift ideas for. For mom. They're also really known for their men's stuff, so I know I'm. I'm men. When I'm actively doing it, when I'm working on myself, I just feel like I am a better me. I have learned a lot of, like, positive coping skills and just like, I feel very empowered to, like, make decisions and be the best version of myself. Tori Desimone
So, like, for me, I know what I like, and I do aim to do it every day, but that doesn't mean it happens. Like, I didn't work out today. Totally fine.
Brooke
Traveling.
Tori Desimone
Love that. I love acceptable. Yeah, yeah. But when I'm home, I like Monday through Friday, I definitely always work out. It also just. It's part of my routine. So when I don't do it, I find one that I'm like, well, what am I gonna do with my time now? Like, you know, like, if I'm not working like tonight, I'm gonna get home late. I normally work out at 7:30 in the morning, but I'll probably do like a 9am tomorrow or something just like later so I can sleep in a little bit. So I'm flexible but routined. And I just think that works really well for me. But anyway, Monday through Friday, I always try and go. If it works, awesome. If it doesn't, don't worry about it. Saturday, Sunday, I normally just do something active, whether it's going to the studio, taking a class, going for a walk with a friend, or going to like, you know, the gym or Pilates, yoga. Like, it really just depends on Saturday, Sunday. But definitely Monday through Friday I do a workout.
Brooke
And what are you loving right now?
Tori Desimone
A little bit of everything, if I'm being honest. But right now I'm really into strength training and like walking on the treadmill. That really is working well for me. And yoga.
Danielle
Oh, yeah.
Tori Desimone
Which your mom and I love talking.
Danielle
About you and my mom, like, dm.
Tori Desimone
No, all the time.
Brooke
What's going on?
Tori Desimone
Strategy. She's like, my little yogini. I'm like, I love you.
Danielle
What kind of yoga are you taking? Is it like vinyasa, flow or hot yoga?
Tori Desimone
So I take power.
Danielle
Power yoga?
Tori Desimone
Yeah, which is a form of vinyasa.
Brooke
Is that like corp? Like, but not core power? Because you do it.
Tori Desimone
Yeah. So power is a sequence of yoga that was like. I mean, I can get like specific. I won't bore you with the details, but it's just like a specific sequence. And I like that because I'm kind of type A, so I like knowing what's coming next. So it's kind of like how I live my life. It's predictable but flexible. Like you can put in different poses, but it's not anything crazy.
Brooke
I love that.
Danielle
Yeah, that's so true.
Brooke
It's a great way of looking at it.
Danielle
I was in. This is like, probably so boring, but I was in Pilates this morning and we did one side and it was like obliques. And it's just the hardest of my life. Like, I can't do it. And then the next side, it was so much easier. And I was like, wow. It's always. She was like, it's because you knew it was coming and you knew how to prepare for it. So I feel like, to your point of you, like, to know, like, kind of the vibes.
Tori Desimone
Yeah.
Danielle
You were able to do it a little bit better because you're not, like, super uncertain, you know?
Tori Desimone
Yeah.
Danielle
Wow, that's so interesting.
Brooke
Why I get intimidated trying new workouts? I would say. Yeah, I don't know what's coming. And you're like, should I exert all my energy in the first 20 minutes or save it?
Danielle
Like, yeah.
Brooke
That's why I get comfortable with one thing.
Tori Desimone
New workouts are definitely intimidating. And, like, being on the studio side of it, I totally get it. I see it all the time, and I even experience it, too, when I go somewhere new. But, like, anyone listening? Tip. If you do want to try new workout, like, bring a friend. It helps so much just to kind of break that barrier of, like, I don't know what I'm doing. I don't either. Okay. We're in it together. And also, like, if you're going to a studio or something, tell the front desk or the instructor, like, it's my first time. I have no idea what to expect. It just kind of breaks the ice. And also, then the instructor will just kind of, like, keep their eye on you. Make sure you're good. Front desk will show you around. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And, like, coming from studio culture, like, we love seeing new people there. Yeah. Like, I love seeing new clients come in, and I, you know, we want them to love the studio. So if you go in and you're like, I'm new. It's my first time. Like, you're gonna be greeted hopefully very, you know, well, and. Yeah. Warmly.
Brooke
Yeah.
Tori Desimone
Yeah.
Brooke
I love that. So what, all of these classes? Well, I know you. You do it. Like, I know you work out other places too.
Tori Desimone
Yeah.
Brooke
But at stride, does it depend on the studio, what you offer?
Tori Desimone
So overall, we offer spin, barre, box trx, yoga, and Pilates. That's like, our main core. My location in the suburbs of Philly, we offer all of that at the shore. I have two in sea aisle, one in Avalon, which is in South Jersey Shore, Sea aisle, I have one location that has spin and then another location that has yoga and Pilates and Avalon. I just have yoga and Pilates. Yeah.
Danielle
I'm so sorry if I don't know. Are you a yoga instructor?
Tori Desimone
I am.
Danielle
You are?
Tori Desimone
Yeah. Yeah. I did my 200 hour. Yeah. For Power last fall, so. Yeah.
Brooke
So you do spin yoga?
Tori Desimone
Yeah, I teach spinning yoga. I don't teach Pilates, but I love taking Pilates.
Brooke
Is it mad Pilates?
Tori Desimone
It is, but at Phoenixville, which is in the Philly suburbs. You've been there?
Brooke
Yeah. Oh, my God. It is the most impressive thing. I'm like, this is enormous. I have to tell you. No, it is, like. It's crazy, but, I mean, I knew it.
Tori Desimone
That was so fun when you were, like, in your era there.
Brooke
I know.
Tori Desimone
That was really fun.
Brooke
Well, because I, like, visited my mom at work.
Tori Desimone
Yeah.
Brooke
Yeah. She still goes all the time. I just.
Tori Desimone
Yeah.
Brooke
You know how life gets.
Tori Desimone
Yeah, I do. Totally. And it's work.
Brooke
Yeah. Well, it's good. I'm glad. I have more going on these days. I like times when I was like, could use something to do.
Danielle
Actually happy about it.
Brooke
Yeah.
Danielle
Do you struggle ever with, like, being a boss?
Tori Desimone
Oh, my God. Yeah. All the time.
Danielle
Is that because you're such a kind, chill person.
Tori Desimone
Thank you.
Danielle
But also, like, you get shit done, so clearly you're a good boss. Like, tough conversation. Yeah. Like, have to work yourself up to, say, fire anybody.
Tori Desimone
Yeah. How to fire a lot of people. It's really. Yeah. I mean, it's. It's part of it. It's not fun. I really, really struggle with. I don't want to let anyone down.
Danielle
Yeah.
Tori Desimone
A lot of times when I have to stand up for myself and advocate for myself, whether it's for me or for the business or for, you know, whatever it is, it's hard to do, and I run away from uncomfortable conversations. It's. No one wants to have them, but you have to. I actually feel like I was much better at it when I was younger. The older I've gotten, the less confrontational I've become. That's so interesting. Yeah. I need to kind of work on that therapy. I'll write that down for later.
Danielle
Yeah.
Tori Desimone
Therapy on Friday. But, yeah. Oh, Slay.
Brooke
What time do you do therapy?
Tori Desimone
Noon. What about you? Oh, my God. Best time of the day.
Brooke
Of the day.
Tori Desimone
Because then you're like. Like, after therapy on Fridays, I'm done. I'm like, it's weekend.
Brooke
Well, that's a good. I've switched up every week, honestly. But I do kind of, like. I used to. Not, like the midday, because I was like, it feels weird to, like, unpack everything emotionally about myself. Like, noon, Like.
Danielle
Yeah, a lot.
Tori Desimone
Such a good point.
Brooke
Yeah.
Tori Desimone
Yeah.
Brooke
But at the same time, it's like, I can move on with my day.
Tori Desimone
Yeah, yeah, yeah. But, yeah, it's. It's hard being confrontational, and it's Hard, disappointing people. But the way I look at it is, like, okay, so I either disappoint. Someone's gonna be disappointed. If I don't speak my mind, I will be the one disappointed. And if I do speak my mind for the betterment of either my myself or the business, they will be disappointed. So what?
Brooke
Someone's getting.
Tori Desimone
Someone's getting either way, and I just got to do the hard thing. It's also a very strange line. In the beginning, I was not good at this. I feel like this I've gotten better at. But it was very strange in the beginning not being friends with my employees because a lot of them were my age, or I would just spend so much time with them, and I really enjoyed them, and we just, you know, would laugh and giggle and, like, would have a great time together. And sometimes tiptoeing that line of, I'm your friend, but I'm your employee, it gets tricky. And then when I added the shore into the mix, that was even crazier, because then I would live with them sometimes. So, like, there definitely had to be very clear boundaries set. And I've gotten my feelings hurt many, many times with that of. And my therapist would have to check me and be like, you're their boss, not their friend. And if they are your friend, they're not your best friend. They're more of an acquaintance to you. And you can't expect, like, friend loyalty from an acquaintance slash employee. And I'm like, no, you're right. So it's been hard. It's been hard, but I've gotten better at it as I've gotten older.
Danielle
That's good.
Brooke
Yeah, that's. That's real adult stuff. When you're like, wow, I'm really running stuff here.
Danielle
Yeah.
Brooke
Yeah. And even just, like, dealing with the employment in general, like, how do you. I mean, obviously, you know, now, like, when instructors, like, want to work for you and stuff, like, how do you decide, like. Like, who's fit for the job, I guess. And.
Tori Desimone
Yeah.
Brooke
Like, is it based on, like, stride culture? Like, this person fits stride culture, or like, this person's an objectively good instructor? Like, how do you decide?
Tori Desimone
A little bit of both. At Stride, we really love individuality. Like, if you were to go take a. Like, a soul cycle class, a core power class, for example, they have, like, a corporate training that you have to go through. So typically, when you take one of those classes, they are all branded very similarly, and they're fantastic classes. At Stride, we definitely have, like, a format that we like to Follow.
Danielle
Yeah.
Tori Desimone
But we also love when the instructors are individual. They have their own personality, and they're very, like, personalized to them. Like, if you were going to take a brook class, it's probably going to be totally different than a Danielle class, which is going to be different than a Tory class, but it's all under, like, the stride umbrella, for example. So, anyway, to answer your question. Yes. Like, I kind of. When someone auditions, I know within the first five seconds if they're gonna work or not. People can be trained to teach an incredible class, but there's also, like, an it factor that you kind of can't learn with. With fitness.
Brooke
Yeah.
Danielle
You make a presence.
Tori Desimone
Yeah.
Danielle
Stage presence, in a way.
Tori Desimone
Yeah. Like, you have it or you don't, and you can develop it for sure, but it's. It's something that can't be taught.
Danielle
Yeah.
Tori Desimone
It just. You have to kind of work at it.
Danielle
I love that you're, like, doing auditions. You do the class or will you kind of sit there at the clipboard?
Tori Desimone
I sit there.
Danielle
I'm upset. And do other people take it, too? I remember when I auditioned, it was, like, a few people, but, like, one of them would just, like, sit and, like.
Tori Desimone
Yeah. No, we just said no one else is in there. Oh, my God. Yeah. Yeah.
Danielle
It's super, like, so they're terrified.
Tori Desimone
Yeah. And, like, normally I'll try and be like. But I. I honestly just said, like, mean bugging it. I don't try to. But, like, you're focusing. Yeah, I am focused. I definitely am. Yeah. Yeah.
Danielle
Wow.
Brooke
I. I do get that because you have to kind of, like, command, like, confidence almost, and, like.
Tori Desimone
Yeah.
Brooke
Without being. But you also want to be friendly. Like, it's a. It's a delicate balance. But I know. I know what you mean, too, because I've taken some classes where someone walks in. I'm like, this is about to be the most epic class in my life. And I've taken somewhere. They're like, hi, everybody.
Tori Desimone
Yeah.
Brooke
Like, oh, this is substitute day. Yeah.
Tori Desimone
Yeah. I also don't want to give them, like, a false. False hope of, like, if, you know, they're kind of bombing an audition. And I'm like, wow. Like, I don't want them to walk away being like, I nailed that. Oh, now I got a rejection email. You know what I mean? Like, I don't. So I. I don't want to give them false hope, and I also don't want them to think that, like, just because I've hired people that, like, I haven't Necessarily loved their audition, but I know I have clients that will love them. So I. I want to stay neutral too. And those people that like. Like, everyone I've hired, I. I've really liked, but they aren't necessarily.
Danielle
Like, maybe you wouldn't want to take a class by them.
Tori Desimone
Right. But I know people would. I know people would. And they adore them and they love them and they love them, and they love them. So kind of same thing. I just try to stay neutral during auditions.
Danielle
Yeah, it makes sense.
Tori Desimone
It's a really great way.
Danielle
So kind of pivoting, but not. It's officially the holiday season.
Tori Desimone
Yeah.
Danielle
Like, we're in it. Like, Thanksgiving has happened. Christmas is upcoming. Hanukkah. Like, there's so many holidays. And Brooke and I have been kind of toying. Have you hear winter arc thing.
Tori Desimone
Okay. I saw you guys talk about it. I'm not on tick tock because I'm dreadfully addicted. So what is it?
Danielle
Well, so basically it seems to be that it was something that, like, a lot of people that Jim bros, like.
Brooke
Gym bros, were using it. They were like, you know, don't talk to girls. Focus on yourself for, like, the winter months, basically.
Tori Desimone
Yeah.
Brooke
And, like, wake up early even though the sun is, like, weird hours. And, you know, well, I guess sun's. You know, the sun.
Danielle
Yeah.
Brooke
But, you know, like. And live your day, keep working out, keep eating healthy, even though it's the holidays, like, look past it, kind of keep your blinders on.
Danielle
The goal is so that by January 1st, you're already kind of in your zone, rather than January 1st waking up and saying, so now I'm gonna eat healthy, and now I'm gonna work out every day. The idea is, I think, like, technically, October 1st is the start of your winter arc.
Tori Desimone
Okay.
Danielle
So we've been chit chatting about it. I've personally definitely tried to, like, keep reminding myself of that because I feel like around the holidays, it's. I like what you said earlier. Something about something but flexible. Some I forget routines, but flexible routine but flexible. I think, like, that's kind of where I'm trying to get. But then Brooke and I. I think I could say we both kind of struggle with either all out.
Brooke
So hard for me to see it halfway. Like, so hard. Hard to be like, I'll work out two times this week because I'm busy or, like, what? Or traveling or whatever. Like, yeah, what's the point?
Danielle
Like, what? Why would I. You know what I mean?
Tori Desimone
Yeah.
Brooke
Which is.
Danielle
It's so. It's, you know, so we're working on getting through that and just, like, trying to stay a little bit more motivated. But obviously with the holidays upcoming, like, I go home for two weeks. You're going in and out. We have travel, stuff like that, I'm sure holiday stuff, tour coming up, stuff like that.
Tori Desimone
Yeah.
Danielle
So I'm curious, like, during the holiday season, do you find that it's a little harder or like, no, because of.
Brooke
How you set up?
Danielle
You could say no. You could be like, no, I've got this down.
Tori Desimone
Honestly. No, no.
Brooke
But tell us how.
Danielle
Yeah, yeah, but flexible aspect.
Tori Desimone
Yeah.
Danielle
If you're up late, I guess you said, like, you will sleep in.
Tori Desimone
If I'm up late, I try to sleep in. But if I'm being honest, my body.
Danielle
It just gets tired.
Tori Desimone
It gets up. Like, it wakes up. Yeah. Like, it does. And I also, like, I go to bed at the same time every night, I wake up at the same time, and it's not because I'm like, I have to go to bed. My body just gets tired. So I just honor it. And I'm like, okay, I'm gonna go to bed now. Like, what? What am I staying up for? You know what I mean? Like, yeah, I'm not out. I'm sitting at home on my couch, like, watching Tell me Lies. Like, I'm just gonna go to bed. You know? Like, you know what I mean? So finding a good routine prior to the holidays, yes, I think is important. And again, it's just going back to finding what you like. But I also know that I feel better when I am routined, when I'm working out, when I'm eating the way that I like, when I'm drinking enough water, when I'm getting my morning sunlight. Like, with things like that, I just know those things make me feel better and happier, so I genuinely want to do them. It doesn't feel like a chore to show up for myself because I enjoy doing it.
Brooke

Tori Desimone
I have a question.
Danielle
Okay with all of this.
Tori Desimone
Yeah.
Danielle
Let's say we have Abigail. She's going home for the holidays for a week, let's say, or even a long weekend, and she wants to stay a little on routine. What are, like, your top three things you'd recommend? It might not be working out. It might be, like you said, like, you get your morning sunlight or those top three things that, if you're traveling or during the holidays that make you feel a little more routine.
Tori Desimone
I would think so. I'm gonna kind of think about this. Like. Like, if I were doing my routine at my shorehouse, like, if I'm traveling for an extended period of time.
Danielle
Walk us through, like, your favorite.
Tori Desimone
I would just do similar things that mirror my routine. So, like, for example, when I wake up in the morning, I wake up and then I go to my workout. So if I'm traveling or if I'm home for the holidays or whatever it might be, I'll wake up and go for a walk. I also know that I love having coffee. So, like, I will make. Make my workout a walk to get coffee that's fun. And, like, then you get coffee at the end of it. You know what I mean? So that adds an element of routine and, like, used to it. But it also makes it fun because it's like, now this is my holiday winter routine. And, like, that can be fragic, right? Where it's like, yeah. Oh. Like, I love going home for the holidays because I do my walk and I do. You know, I go get a coffee and it's different than what I do at home, but it's a new routine here, and it makes me, like, excited, and I feel Good doing it. So you just find things that mirror what you do at home, wherever you are. Same with, like, eating when I, like, even here, like, I obviously don't have gross. Like, I love to cook here when I'm, you know, here for a few days. Yeah. Like, I'm not gonna go to Whole Foods and I don't have a kitchen in my hotel. So it's just like, what do you do? I'll just like, get foods that I am familiar with that I enjoy. But also, like, I live. You know what I mean? Like, if I like, I get whatever I want whenever I want on a menu somewhere and I don't think twice about it. And I'm very grateful that I'm in that mind space because there was a time when I definitely was not.
Danielle
Yeah.
Tori Desimone
So, yeah. Like, I just find things that are similar to your routine at home that you can bring into a traveling.
Danielle
I really like that I'm already motivated because I selfishly, I struggle when I go home because. Because I like, don't live near a lot of, like the gyms or the workout classes. So then I find myself kind of just, you know, okay, I'll go for a quick walk around the neighborhood. But I'm like, that's great. But I could walk to get coffee. Like there is a coffee shop. It's a lot. It'd be a nice, good, long walk.
Tori Desimone
Yeah. But it's.
Danielle
Because sometimes I don't wanna. And it's sunny.
Brooke
Yeah.
Danielle
No, there's definitely ways, I think I just get home and I'm like, oh, well, why would I, like Brooke was saying, like, why would I even do it today if I know I'm not gonna be able to do it the whole week. Week. That's not true. You could just mirror, like, because that also makes you feel good. Like, I love my morning routine here. So why wouldn't you do?
Tori Desimone
At least.
Danielle
Even if I think that's like the hurdle I go over. So sometimes I'm like, why can't I just do like a 15 minute sculpt society? Like, for some reason my brain's like, why would I even do that? But then those days you do do it, you're like, I feel amazing.
Tori Desimone
100. Like, Melissa Wood Health, I love her program.
Danielle
Right.
Tori Desimone
Start at home also has 5 and 10 minute, like, sessions if you ever want to do that. But great programs, like, you don't need to do a full workout just to feel good. Sometimes it just feels good to be in a routine, even if it's not your normal routine.
Brooke
That I need to, like, retrain my mindset because my home routine right now is toxic. Like, I feel like I leave my bed.
Danielle
Like, well, it's something about going home too. It's like you regress back to childhood. Yes. Your mom, like, maybe makes you a breakfast, right?
Brooke
Yeah.
Danielle
Oh, this is so nice. And it is like you said, you have to. Do you believe in listening to your body? Like, sometimes I feel like I listen to my body too much and I'm like, oh, I'm tired.
Brooke
How do you know, like, the difference.
Danielle
Like, how do you know, like, the.
Brooke
Entire intuitive listening to your body and like, your mind telling you, like, you can take the day off?
Tori Desimone
Yeah. Great question. Through experience, like, there has definitely been times where I'm like, I'm tired. I'm gonna listen to my body and, like, not work out or not. I'm gonna skip the workout. I'm just gonna sleep in, whatever it might be. And every single time I do that, I'm like, like, oh, now I don't really feel my best.
Brooke
Yeah.
Tori Desimone
And like, I wish. I wish I went. Like, I really do. There's been very few times where I'm like, I'm really glad I didn't do that. And there's been way more times where I'm like, you know, I could have. And now I just feel like I'm. My day's kind of thrown off because I made a quick in the moment decision knowing that, like, long term, I would have felt better. So I get that. Like, listen, like, obviously if you're injured or you're sick, like, yeah, like, physical.
Danielle
Stuff, I feel like that's maybe where we 100.
Tori Desimone
But when it's like, mental of like, I'm. I really don't feel like doing this today. That's probably the day I need it the most. And I always leave feeling so much better.
Danielle
No, you're so right. Literally this morning I was like, we have so many things back to back. And I was like, why did I decide to go to Pilates?
Brooke
But then it feel better.
Danielle
I feel amazing. Yeah, it kick starts the rest of, like, okay, now I'm up.
Tori Desimone
It.
Danielle
It's literally getting out of bed for me. That's the hardest thing for me. It's like the getting out. Like, I'm up at 7:30. My same. I like, wake up. But then I'm like, oh, but I could lay here. I could go on tik tok.
Tori Desimone
I could. You know, and the days that I've done that where I'm like, oh, it's like, raining outside. It's cold. Like, I'm gonna stay in bed. I literally will. And then I feel like I do. I feel like you feel guilty. I don't.
Brooke
Oh, okay.
Tori Desimone
Sorry.
Brooke
No. Oh, I feel guilty. Like, when I cancel on a workout, I'm like, oh, like, I maybe I don't feel my best. Whatever. The whole rest of the day. Like, it will eat me up. Like, I'm like, oh, really? I could have gone. I totally could have gone.
Tori Desimone
Yeah.
Danielle
Like, all day. You think about it.
Brooke
Yeah. Because I'm like, I am healthy. Like, I should, you know, then I start, like, I get that I should be grateful that I totally put words in your mouth.
Tori Desimone
No, you're guilty.
Brooke
Like, no, I don't feel that I.
Tori Desimone
Have in the past, but now I don't.
Brooke
Okay.
Tori Desimone
Now I don't. But I do feel like, not because I didn't go, but because I didn't do anything to make myself feel good. You know what I mean? Like, an endorphin hit from scrolling on Instagram just leaves me feeling drained and sad and depressed. But an endorphin hit from a workout makes me feel incredible, so I'd rather get that one than, like, a doom scroll hit.
Brooke
Wow.
Tori Desimone
You know what I mean?
Danielle
This is.
Tori Desimone
That doesn't mean I don't.
Brooke
No, this is, like, what I need.
Tori Desimone
Doom scroll, though. Yeah.
Brooke
But when you do go home for the holidays, let's just say, like, you know, Thanksgiving. Like, you know that, you know, it's. I don't know what your traditions are, whatever.
Tori Desimone
But, like, so, yeah, this is where I'm a little different. Like, like, because I pretty much live in my hometown. Yeah. When I go, like, home for the holidays, like, I live at home.
Danielle
Stay on your routine.
Tori Desimone
Yeah. So, like, I, I, I really can. But, like, for the holidays, for example, like, I just go over to my parents, like, for dinner or like, Christmas Eve. Like, I sleep at my parents on Christmas Eve. I do.
Brooke
Yeah.
Danielle
Santa's coming.
Tori Desimone
Yeah, no, Santa's coming. 100%. But for me, like, the way I think about it is I live at the shore in the summertime, so, like, that's kind of my extended stay somewhere that isn't my home.
Danielle
So true.
Tori Desimone
But I just make a new routine there. Like, it just looks different than my home routine, and I love it, and it's just different. But it's, it's still my routine.
Brooke
How do you deal with speaking of routines so much? How do you deal with friends that I guess then have maybe different routines than you? Like, for Example, like the out, the staying up late thing. Like, I'll be like, I'm on such a good thing with like my, my hours. But then, like, my friends want to do something that starts at 10pm I'm like, that's my bed time. Like, how do you. How do you deal with that?
Tori Desimone
They know me. Like, they know that if it's after 11, like, I won't be there. And that's okay.
Danielle
That's ideal.
Tori Desimone
And like, that's okay. And I don't feel fomo because they're still my friends regardless. Like, yeah, if they have the best night ever, I'm so happy for them.
Brooke
Totally.
Tori Desimone
But I also got eight hours sleep and now I feel really good. You know what I mean?
Brooke
No, that's valid.
Tori Desimone
Yeah. And I see them in other ways. Like, I love going to like, long dinners or I love hanging out with them during, during the day. But like, all my best friends, like, especially down at the shore, for example, I'm thinking of. They. There's like this bar and when you end it at 2am you throw napkins up in the air and it's called Napkins. It's like a big thing and it's just like a joke that, like, I have never and will never make it to napkins. And people know that, like, if you want to go to Napkins, I will not be there. And I'm fine with that. And so are they.
Danielle
Yeah.
Tori Desimone
You know.
Brooke
Yeah. No, that you set the expectation straight. Like, it's hard. Hard for me. I could speak for me, because I pivot. Like, I'm like, no more after 10pm they're like Brooklyn. That used to be like when we started.
Danielle
Yeah.
Brooke
Yeah.
Danielle
Just kidding.
Brooke
Yeah.
Tori Desimone
There are like the occasional nights where like, I'm out late or like, I do things like. But it's. Those are not normal. Like maybe once a month, if that. It's not normal.
Danielle
Yeah.
Tori Desimone
And that's fine. And like, that fills up my cup enough for a long time.
Brooke
That's great.
Tori Desimone
Yeah. And it's fun.
Danielle
Staying in your lane is the biggest key. Like. Yeah, I. I have such an issue if, like, there's an evening where it's like, oh, I. I gotta eat healthy tonight, or I'm not drinking tonight. I, like, make it everyone else's problem. Like, not even actually, but I feel like I, like, it's known I'm not good at like, just being chill. Like, oh, sorry, I'm not drinking. But like, I promise I'll still be fine. Like, why do you even have to say that you should just be able to, like, order your club soda and.
Tori Desimone
Yeah, no one cares.
Danielle
No one really cares. No, sometimes I need to remind myself.
Tori Desimone
If you're not drink. Like, honestly, no one cares if you drink or not. Yeah, no one cares what you order. Again, I say this plus love. I say this with a lot of love.
Brooke
No, you're so right. Yeah. I feel like it's like, I have to preface sometimes. I'm like, oh, you know this.
Tori Desimone
And have you ever prefaced it and someone's been like, oh, that's weird.
Danielle
Like, no, not particularly. No, not saying that's weird, but there's definitely some times where I'm like, oh, I don't want them to think, like, I'm gonna be a vibe kill. But also, like, you shouldn't surround yourself with people that totally would make you feel that way. Not that any of my close friends do that.
Brooke
No. I've had those thoughts about drinking, though. Like, right. I. The other day, like, told Ben I was like, I'm not going to be drinking. And, like, I, I. But I'm going to just say. And he's like, why do you have to say anything? You don't have to say anything. Like, but I'll drink a cup. That looks like he was like, why are you thinking about this so much?
Danielle
Like, yeah, I know.
Brooke
Overanalyzing. And I'm like, I don't know.
Tori Desimone
It's normal. It. It's okay. Like, spiraling and having the anxious thoughts of it. Like, that's. That's totally okay. Yeah, it happens. And sometimes you just have to talk yourself off a ledge.
Brooke
Yeah.
Danielle
No, I know. Even, like, I would do the same. I would, like, tell Ryan before, and he's like, okay, but, like, I think even. Not even telling them, like, just going in, being like, I'm gonna act as if everything's normal and just do whatever I want.
Tori Desimone
Yeah, yeah.
Danielle
And go to bed when you want. And all the things what you were saying earlier, too, is so true. About, like, I'm up, but I'm tired. Why not just go to bed?
Tori Desimone
Go to bed.
Danielle
Just literally go to bed. Like, just go to bed. But I'm like, oh, I live alone. Like, no one's telling me to go to bed.
Tori Desimone
No 110. I know. I think about that all the time. Like, I remember when I was, like, 7, and I would walk around the grocery store and be like, when I am an adult, I am getting gushers. And, like, I have never bought gushers, but, like, the free will to do whatever you want. When you're an adult is crazy. And it's like, I can say it because no one's telling me to go to bed.
Danielle
It's so fun to rebel.
Brooke
Yeah. I could sleep with the lights on if you want. Any of those with music on, you could sleep.
Tori Desimone
Yeah.
Danielle
Fall asleep with the tv.
Tori Desimone
But these. Only person it's going to affect is me, so it's like it's me versus me. You know what I mean?
Danielle
Like, back to also what you said earlier. Like, do you want to disappoint someone else or yourself? Someone's going to get disappointed.
Tori Desimone
100%.
Brooke
Wow, that is so great. Well, anytime we have questions about being a boss, we will definitely. Because we definitely should. Wow. We're like, kind of near the end of the episode. Should we do our favorite.
Tori Desimone
Really?
Danielle
I think we should finish with our.
Tori Desimone
Oh, my God. Yeah.
Brooke
We had so much chat about.
Danielle
Of course I know my routine.
Brooke
Consulting.
Tori Desimone
And.
Danielle
No, I'm feeling so motivated. I hope you guys are, too. Well, you're always motivated, but, like, do you feel motivated? Like, I'm feeling. I feel like you just gave some very helpful tactics booking a workout class.
Brooke
For tomorrow morning, actually.
Danielle
Yeah.
Tori Desimone
Like, literally, you've been on your soul cycle era, too. You love.
Brooke
I. I do. I love spinning. Yeah, I do. It really is just like, for me, it's like, so, like. I don't want to say it, but, like, you're. It's a dark room. You do your own thing, and it really is like a release girl, and.
Tori Desimone
You'Re good at it.
Danielle
I see your videos when I'm.
Tori Desimone
You hit the beat.
Brooke
When I'm in my routine with it.
Tori Desimone
Yeah.
Brooke
Like, I feel like you fall out of it so quickly. Like, I lose my stamina. I feel like I lose my stamina really quickly.
Tori Desimone
Yeah.
Brooke
Is that like a known thing?
Tori Desimone
Unfortunately, that is a common experience, and I think it just goes back to finding a workout that you like and that you can be consistent with. There's. I love following Nick Bear, for example. He's like, the most consistent person I've ever followed in my whole life. He owns VPN supplements. Maybe Sal knows.
Brooke
He's like, a bro.
Tori Desimone
Yeah, he's a bro.
Brooke
Okay.
Tori Desimone
And anyway, he's very disciplined, very, very routined. And he had a quote on his podcast one time that said, it's better to be consistently good than exceptionally great. And I love that quote. And it's something that I try to, like, live by. Like, if I can just be good every day, I will take that over, like, the occasional. This was A really great hard workout. But now I can't walk for three days. Yeah. Or I ate really, really well today, so like tomorrow I'm just gonna like eat whatever I want. Or I slept really, really well tonight so I can stay up late tonight. Like I'd rather just be consistently good. That has ebbs and flows because life does. Like life happens and it's always just going to happen. But if I can just be consistently good, then I'm good. I love.
Brooke
That's a great quote. Yeah. You've been just. Just quotes.
Tori Desimone
Well, that's not original, but yeah.
Danielle
No, but you're sharing it with us for sure.
Brooke

On my podcast, I share candid updates from my personal life, chat with some of my best friends about what's going on in our lives lives, give commentary on the latest pop culture headlines, and.
Danielle
Sometimes deep dive into random topics. I'm obsessed with, like, human design. It's a bit all over the place.
Brooke
But that's how I like it. And you will, too. Listen to my podcast, Stassi, wherever you get your podcasts.
Danielle
Well, can you also share with us something you're loving right now?
Tori Desimone
A thousand percent. You guys listen to Gracie Abrams?
Brooke
Like, yeah, sometimes.
Tori Desimone
Okay. Her album the Secret of Us, the deluxe version, I'm not kidding. Like, it is a soundtrack to my life, really.
Brooke
I think it's kind of giving movie soundtrack, actually.
Danielle
Like a very main character.
Tori Desimone
Yeah.
Brooke
Main character.
Danielle
Yeah.
Tori Desimone
It's just. It's like the rise and fall of a situationship, and it's like, that's literally not my life right now.
Danielle
But I was like, do you have something?
Tori Desimone
No, I don't. I don't, unfortunately. I wish I did, but no. Like, it's just hitting so incredibly well, and I'm like, I couldn't be more obsessed even if I tried.
Danielle
Are all the songs you're saying like a story arc?
Tori Desimone
Pretty much.
Danielle
I love stuff like that. Yeah, I've listened to her music, but not in that order, I guess.
Tori Desimone
Yeah, listen. I mean, if you ever.
Brooke
Yeah, I should listen that. I've listened intermittently too.
Danielle
Yeah, she's great.
Tori Desimone
It's like. I don't know what it is, but, like, there's a little scratch that is just like.
Brooke
I'm also obsessed with her and Paul Mezcal right now. So, like, that together. And I feel like they're both having their big moment. I just. It couldn't have been more like the stars aligned for both of them to shine in this exact.
Danielle
Yeah, they're having happy together.
Brooke
Like, they deserve it. They both have been, like, working on and, like, big, but, like, now they're like, having their moment under the sun.
Tori Desimone
Yeah. Together. Together.
Brooke
Hollywood love.
Danielle
Hollywood love. I hope it's real.
Tori Desimone
Yeah.
Brooke
Oh, I think it is.
Danielle
You know, I just mean in general.
Brooke
Like, I don't like to believe that they're like, it's so hot. Like, oh, my gosh. It's so hard for me to believe that.
Danielle
I feel like they're kind of random, that it's real.
Tori Desimone
Real.
Danielle
Like, it's not like they're in a movie together or anything.
Brooke
Yeah, I know. What do you mean?
Tori Desimone
I could never do a PR relationship because I would fall in love.
Brooke
Me too.
Danielle
Yeah.
Tori Desimone
Like, I would fully fall in love.
Danielle
Oh, you're just in this for the money. Okay, bye.
Brooke
What are you loving, Danielle?
Danielle
I am loving the Anastasia Beverly Hills Dewy set spray.
Tori Desimone
Oh, is that what you just use?
Danielle
Yes, it. You guys know I love a scent, and this is scented, and it just puts me in the best mood I've had. Long brook nose. I don't like to keep my makeup on all day. Like, I really hate to, like, if I have do my makeup in the morning, I would prefer to redo it for the evening.
Tori Desimone
Yeah.
Danielle
But, like, for example, today I knew it was, like, staying on all day and bringing this around with me. It smells good. It refreshes me. I feel like it kind of melts the makeup back together, you know, it starts to get a little cakey, powdery, a little separated. I feel like it brings it all together and it just. It makes me happy. It's a beautiful glittery bottle. Like, I don't know, it's just been. It makes me excited to finish my makeup and spray it, and it's amazing. Thank you.
Tori Desimone
You're welcome. I hope it does.
Danielle
I don't know if my makeup's looking. I don't know. Been toying with eyeliner and, like, you know how that just gets.
Tori Desimone
I can't do eyeliner.
Danielle
You don't have eyeliner on. Oh, wow.
Tori Desimone
My eyes blotters. Thank you. You have very long eyelashes, too.
Danielle
Oh, my God, look at us. Long last.
Brooke
Yeah.
Danielle
What are you loving?
Brooke
Do you guys use lash serum?
Tori Desimone
Yeah, I use Grandelash.
Danielle
I used to.
Tori Desimone
You don't. Those are natural.
Danielle
No, but I get my lashes lifted.
Tori Desimone
Did so they don't look like that.
Danielle
I think I just have, like, really long lashes. But, I mean, I think the serum's working because you have long lashes.
Tori Desimone
Thank you. I hope so. Looking good.
Danielle
It is like, it better be working.
Brooke
My God, I'm loving my leopard coat. I've been wearing it so much. I don't have it today, but it's on my Instagram and everything. Yes. My mob wife era coat. It's just like a leopard fur coat from literally Abercrombie. I think it was pretty reasonably priced, actually. Keeps me warm. And my only qualm is that it's not fuzzy on the inside.
Danielle
You know what's with that?
Brooke
That. Is it easier for production of it?
Danielle
Like, that's probably even thicker if the fur was on inside, too.
Brooke
Right. And cleaning, I guess.
Tori Desimone
Yeah, it's like that satin.
Brooke
Yeah.
Tori Desimone
Material.
Brooke
I mean, it's definitely Abercrombie. Like, it's, you know, like, it's not your mom's leopard. Yeah. Cool. But it is. It's great. I feel like I get that look of wherever. Getting a lot of compliments on it.
Danielle
It's great. I love, like, making your jacket the outfit. Like, just putting on essentials and then your jacket. Or like, a trench. Literally, it's the whole.
Tori Desimone
No. Us with our church.
Danielle
Yeah.
Brooke
We're literally all like, your churches. Where is this one from?
Tori Desimone
This is from a local boutique that actually just closed. And I'm so sad because I loved that boutique. It was called Threads, and it was incredible.
Danielle
Was it American threads?
Tori Desimone
No, no, it was just called Threads.
Brooke
Just Threads.
Tori Desimone
Just Threads. Yeah. No, it was amazing.
Danielle
And love the suede. It's very cute.
Tori Desimone
Thank you. It's very trend now. I bought it last year when it wasn't in trend, and I'm like, ahead of the. Not me ahead of the trend.
Brooke
I love when that. Conveniently when they say something's like, crazy.
Danielle
Yeah.
Tori Desimone
Yeah.
Brooke
I think I have the perfect item.
Danielle
Pull that out of the archives.
Brooke
Thank you.
Tori Desimone
All the girls here wear trenches.
Danielle
Definitely.
Tori Desimone
I love New York style. It's baggy, it's loose.
Danielle
Yeah.
Tori Desimone
I'm like, subscribe to that.
Danielle
Subscribe.
Brooke
Do not dress for the male gays here in New York City. And I love it.
Tori Desimone
Oh, really? I feel like, like, catching glances from all these men. I'm like, well, because they don't.
Brooke
Because this is what they expect. Like, I feel like you're not wearing, like. I mean, I. This is a great outfit, but I feel like this is not. Like, I feel like you put this on today and say, like, I can't wait for the men to notice me. I mean, I could be.
Tori Desimone
So true.
Brooke
You know what I'm saying?
Tori Desimone
So true.
Danielle
Well, maybe with the eagle hats. Like, yeah, I watch football.
Tori Desimone
Someone did was like, go birth. And I was like, yeah, right.
Danielle
That's on my head.
Tori Desimone
Well, I just, like, never know what to say. Like, I'm not gonna do the eagles chant.
Danielle
Like, yeah, like, go, birds.
Tori Desimone
Yeah, yeah, go, bird.
Danielle
I love that. Well, Tori, where can everyone follow you? Find you? Listen to you.
