A
Foreign. Hey, guys. What's up? Welcome back to Gals on the Go podcast.
B
It's Brooke and Danielle, and you guys are getting an original. Original recipe.
A
Today, just the two gals were face to face.
B
So it's kind of like I'm uncomfortable.
A
I feel like I'm like, I brought you in today to talk about your performance.
B
I know. I was like, I guess we could have gone on the couch. We're recording in my apartment right now, you guys. Brooke came to me, and we are cozied up fall candle going from our fall mall day, which was so fun.
A
Love it. The vlogs are up.
B
The vlogs are up.
A
Mine will be up now. So nostalgic. It's such a fun time.
B
It really is. And I was trying to think because. So basically the other day when. So Brooke. Me and Katie have done this for. Well, I think the first year you and I did it. Brooke has a car, which is amazing. It's so nice. Perk being her friend.
A
Park.
B
My friend has a Jeep. My friend has a car. And we went to the first year. Did we do American?
A
I think we did. Because when we were talking about, like, how Katie had never been there, I was like. But we definitely did okay. Mall day, because I think we went to American Dream first for, like, a brand thing.
B
Yeah, we gotta come back to shop. Yeah.
A
Yeah.
B
It was so nice. You're right. So then we went. It was like a beautiful fall day, and we, you know, did all the nostalgic shopping. And so then we kind of made it this tradition. Katie Blotty came with us. The second year we went to. What is that?
A
Roosevelt Field.
B
Roosevelt Field.
A
Another good mall along island. We wanted something that wasn't, like, more than two hours away. I feel like that was the. Yeah.
B
Like, we don't need to travel that far for shopping.
A
It's a day trip.
B
It's a day trip.
A
Day trip. You know, there and back and, you know, not. You don't want to spend more than, like, I want to say, like, almost five hours there, because then it gets to be the point where you're. You're cranky. It's too long. Like, my arms start. Yeah. Power shopping.
B
If you get the candles, at least.
A
Oh. Or something heavy.
B
Yeah, something.
A
I feel like I had. Yeah, I guess the can. Oh, I had soap. I got a ton of soaps. You got soap from Bath and Body Works. You did? Yeah, they were on sale.
B
I need to go. Watch your haul. Yeah, it's a collab video.
A
I actually have the, like, Mahogany Teakwood. Is that what it is? In my bathroom. And I. I like. It's permanently in my nose now because it's such a strong, so good soap scent. Yeah.
B
That's nice. I didn't. I was inspired by you and got the dryer sheets.
A
Yeah.
B
The mahogany.
A
Been using them. Yeah.
B
Doing everything.
A
Mahogany, teakwood. We've got.
B
It's so good. It's like that OG Abercrombie scent.
A
Yes.
B
I. I'm loving it so much. But. Yeah. So the second year was Roosevelt Field. And then last year we went to Woodbury Commons, which was fun. And outlet malls.
A
Premium great mall. But outlets is, like, different than the mall.
B
It's different. It's not nostalgic. Fall mall day.
A
No, it needs to be like, in addition to, like, different day, though.
B
Different day.
A
Yeah.
B
So then this year we ran it back to American Dream.
A
Yeah. Good mall. I mean, great mall. They're just missing a few key stores. Like an Abercrombie.
B
I think we really thought they had that.
A
Yeah. Yeah. And they're opening an aloe. Like, I feel like they're getting. Yeah, they're almost there.
B
And the Sax. Fifth Avenue. We didn't love. We felt like, love it. Wouldn't love a Nordstrom.
A
Would love another department store.
B
Yeah, Another department.
A
A Nordstrom, a Bloomingdales. I'll take like, any of it.
B
A full functioning, like, department store where they have a good shoe section. Good, like, pajamas area. The holiday gift sets. Like, that's what we were lacking. And this is all obviously, like, super surface level, materialistic stuff. But, like, it's people. People really do love when we go.
A
Hey, we can review malls. I think that's the thing.
B
You know what?
A
Let the gals review their mall. Honestly, we should maybe start giving them a ranking. Like, I would give it four stars.
B
Like, wait, how fun. Maybe it can be this thing where, like, malls in different states invite us to have a mall day.
A
Wow.
B
We start reviewing malls. No, I'm obsessed. But it's so funny. When we were doing this fall mall day, I said to Brooke and Katie, I was like, I've been getting so many comments, like, so excited. And you were like, I can't lie. I haven't gotten one. But now I feel like you.
A
I got replies to my story. Then after we posted.
B
Yeah, yeah.
A
But I didn't get people, like, waiting for it. Anticipating, like, No, I didn't get it. Literally no one. But I feel like you really pioneer the film all day. Like, I feel like that's because, like, I feel like, you're a big mall girl.
B
Well, if you mean pioneer, yes. I'm the one who. I feel like, who texts you guys.
A
Like, you're like, so it's.
B
Oh, you can't do that day. Let's.
A
It's about that time of year. Yes.
B
I have a few things in the. Brooke and I actually were talking about traditions the other day in the car, because one thing about if you're in the car with Brooke, like, we're not going service level. Like, it's.
A
How do we.
B
Brooke was like, you know, I just want to be able to have some of those traditions that my kids can look at one day and be like, my mom did this.
A
Like, things. Like, you know, we. On Sunday, we always wear fuzzy socks and watch rom coms.
B
Like, traditional niche little things. Or my mom always cooks with this butter. Yes, I know what you mean.
A
Oh, exactly. Like, we only buy our spices from this specific place. Like, you have to have, like, your things that you're really passionate about and you really care about for sure.
B
But you said you're still kind of, like, in the lab. Like, certain things you just don't know if you want to commit to.
A
Sure. I feel like I have some. Like, that's a tradition. Like, yeah, we have some holiday traditions. Yeah, it doesn't even have to be holiday traditions. It could just be annual. I mean, Hampton's trip is a tradition. I guess it's been a few years and it's missed, but it could still be a tradition.
B
Nantucket kind of.
A
Nantucket kind of.
B
We get there somehow every year.
A
Yeah. Yeah. Somehow. Somehow we'll bring us next.
B
Yeah. Who will bring us next year? Who knows? And then our fall mall day. I mean, these are all, like, events, I guess, but that's.
A
You hit an age where you're like, okay, I gotta make these traditions for myself. Like, yeah, that's.
B
Well, too young, you know?
A
So my family's building. No, we're growing.
B
Funny discussion.
A
Because I have to go to my storage unit, which is not local. Like, I have to drive to my storage unit to get my holiday decor. So I was thinking about that, and I was thinking about, like, you know, decorating and starting to. I. I haven't. That's not. Not soon. Like, I need to wait a little longer. How about you?
B
So funny. I was talking to my trainer, Jane, this morning about it. She was like, I feel like you're the type of person that you would put it up tomorrow. And I was like, I've always been the, like, right before Thanksgiving girl Yeah, but this year it's feeling like I want it sooner. Not this week, feeling that itch, but maybe next weekend. Like, so November 14th, 15th weekend here for that. Just because we, I guess you are semi local, so you go home. Like, it's easier.
A
Yes. But you have more days back. You don't have as many days here. I understand.
B
Yeah. I want to enjoy the days here. However, I was also talking to her about the fact that holiday decor can seem cluttery at times. So, like, you got to be prepared for a little bit of more stuff around.
A
Totally. The tree takes up some room.
B
Takes up some room. Are you also seeing this thing about people trying to decide their Christmas decor theme? No. Like Ralph Lauren Christmas.
A
Oh, like they're picking an aesthetic.
B
Yeah. Like the Kardashians.
A
Yeah.
B
I, I, one thing I do, I definitely want to do this year is.
A
Like, pick a vibe.
B
Pick a vibe for, like, my rapping, maybe.
A
Oh, for your rapping? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Well, because I go and I buy like, three rolls and I'm like, yeah, like, I've got hello Kitty. I've got, yeah, I've got red and I've got green. Like, those are my colors. And, you know, I, I, and then.
B
You know, Brooke gave me those gifts. I, I do. Like, have you seen the Kardashian wrapping things? Yeah, like, I love that. Like, that's cute.
A
I do like that the holiday thing is hard because I feel like I'm accumulating things, progress, like, over the years and building to my collection. So, like, to completely flip the aesthetic now would be like, I, I thought about this too. So I was thinking about the color scheme of ornaments and stuff, and I was like, but I already have ornaments, so, like, I want to use what I kind of have. I don't want to. There's no need to replace, but I'm like, I guess I could add.
B
I forget, do you, when you do ornaments, do you have, like an array of ornaments?
A
Both. So I have, like, you know, my personal ornaments, but I'm still building that collection. Like the knickknacks and.
B
Yes. Like, things that mean something.
A
But then I just got a pack, or not a pack. I got like 10 packs from target of, like, just generic, like, balls.
B
Okay. Yes.
A
You know what I'm saying?
B
Yes. Yeah. Like the filler ones. I do the same exact thing.
A
You do the same. Is that what you did at home?
B
Yeah, I think that's just what we did at home. Like, I was used to a mix match tree with, like, some consistency, but then you have like your fun little. Like if you know it's a martini or like little things that mean something to you.
A
Your handprint from when you were like a child.
B
Oh, my God.
A
Yeah. Home does.
B
Do your parents, like, do the tree, I guess, without you at this point or you do it when you're home?
A
Yeah, they don't really make it a bit anymore. Yeah, it's over. Like, it's like.
B
Yeah.
A
Oh, like, we gotta construct. Like. I know, it's more of like manual labor versus like.
B
Yeah, let's pick cookies.
A
Yes. But my mom loves Christmas music, so she's definitely. It's so funny. She's literally. She's the biggest Christmas fan I know. So that's why when I met other Jewish people, I was like, wait, you don't celebrate Christmas? And they're like, no, like, why would I celebrate Christmas? I was like, I don't know.
B
My mom is into it.
A
She loves it.
B
I. I feel like I know a lot of Jewish people that love Christmas music at the very least.
A
And like, yeah, they get into it.
B
Yeah. Yeah, I see what you're saying though.
A
Yeah. Like, you grew up that way.
B
Yeah.
A
And then you meet people and they're like, no, I don't have a tree. Yeah. I don't have lights. I don't have.
B
Oh, I'm sorry, I have to readjust my brain.
A
Oh, man, I'm so sorry. I guess I had it wrong.
B
You had it all. Really.
A
It's so nice. I mean, we literally have like a menorah ornament on our Christmas tree, though. Like, we make no sense like that.
B
Yeah, that's cool though.
A
It's cool.
B
It's a little bit mix of both. A little collaborative effort. No, I was talking to Clara about this like Ralph Lauren Christmas and it's. I was telling her, I was like, I love the Ralph Lauren vibe, but it doesn't go with my apartment. So, like, she was like, yeah, you're more of like a CB2 Christmas.
A
She's like a black and white Christmas.
B
Yeah, she is too. And it's. It's so unfortunate. Like, if you have a house.
A
Yeah.
B
Then you can, you can, you know, like think they're talking about this on Matchmade podcast. Like, if you have a house, you can have different vibe rooms.
A
Totally.
B
But in an apartment, you. All of your rooms kind of have to be cohesive in a way. Cuz it's a little more jarring if there's like a. I know what you mean.
A
Like man cave.
B
And then.
A
Yes. I'm like, this room is like old Victorian.
B
Yeah, exactly.
A
This is like sleek, modern.
B
It would be a little.
A
Yeah, I. I actually been thinking about that recently too. You know, talking. I've been thinking about hanging up degrees on the wall. Cuz Ben, he's moving out of. Oh God. He's moving out of like his childhood home. So like now we're like, you know, going through all of his stuff. He had big things, but he has all his like diplomas and things. And it's like he was like talking about like hanging them up and I'm like, okay, like, I guess I should bring mine and we should hang mine up too. Do you have your diplomas here?
B
Mine's hanging up in my bedroom.
A
Me too.
B
Oh, I. I don't know that I. Oh, wow.
A
But like that. So we're just going to have his stuff? Like. No, I need to have mine too. Wow. Wow.
B
That would like, really throw me all over the place with the decor. Like. Where are you gonna put it?
A
It's. We have a spot actually behind the office door. So like when you open the office door, you don't see it, but there's like. It doesn't hit the wall. It's. It's good.
B
Yeah. It won't hit. We found us and stuff. Yeah, Yeah.
A
I feel like when you have like advanced degrees, you want to show them all.
B
I was gonna say, like, if I were Ben, I'd want to show them off.
A
Yeah, yeah.
B
I mean, UGA go off.
A
I know.
B
So proud of us for those.
A
Totally. But like, I think once you start getting to the point where you have multiple, it's like more exciting.
B
Yeah, no, that's really cool. To be like 1, 2, 3. Yeah, yeah, have that.
A
That.
B
I think you should also bring yours in then. For sure.
A
Yeah, I have to because otherwise then it's like the wall. His accomplishments, you know, But.
B
All right, you can hang up your YouTube play button.
A
Yeah, yeah, that could be.
B
Where is your YouTube play?
A
We have an intellect and we've created perfect. Yeah. The perfect duo.
B
Where is your YouTube button? I always like, struggle with my shell.
A
In your office shelf. Yeah. Yeah. What's it called again? I can't think of it.
B
The Murphy bed. Murphy.
A
You're getting a lot of use of the Murphy background.
B
Yeah. Brian's family stayed here this weekend. It was really. I think it went off without a hitch, but it was so funny having them.
A
Would it go off without a hick?
B
Oh, that was good. If. You know, you know. That was good. Yeah, no, it was so funny though. Like, Ryan Left for work this morning, but, like, they were still here. So I was just, like, chatt with them. And then I'm like, oh, wait, can I make you guys breakfast? But they were like, no, we'll go to Starbucks for. I don't know. It's just like.
A
It's so funny being at that point where you're like, can I make you breakfast? Like, that is. I. No, I know. It's, like, always interesting to be in that position.
B
And you're like, yeah. So, yeah, we. Brooke and I are coming off of a last and a half of a weekend.
A
Oh, my gosh. And you had an extra day attached to it. Then, like, I feel like you came back to the city and you had a go, go, Go day.
B
So you go, go, go. We're gals in the go.
A
Big, big weekend.
B
Big weekend. It was Hallow weekend, and we went to a. I can't speak. What do we do? Speaking with Katie, how do you explain this?
A
A beautiful series of homes, really? It was like a property state. Yeah. I would call it an estate. Yeah. It was three homes on a property that was very, very large for Katie Bellotti's 30th birthday. So she organized a trip, and we knew that she was, like, organizing a trip, and then I feel like she was like, I want to do murder mystery party in it. Which we've done that before. We did this. We did that a few years ago, and it's definitely really fun. But this time, I thought we had so much time to plan, so, like, you really had time to, like, get your cost and, like, think through things.
B
True. I don't remember, like, dressing up as much when we did it last.
A
We didn't. We didn't. It was, like, definitely, like, week of. We were like, oh, shoot. Like, I'm.
B
It was a trip we pulled together.
A
Yeah. Yeah, for sure. Actually, speaking of that other trip, I'm bouncing around. It was the funniest thing because we were talking about. We did a trip for New Year's, like, a few years ago, and somehow it. It kept getting compared to this trip. It wasn't just you. It was like, everybody.
B
I was the leader.
A
You were the leader. It was a lot of people, though. They were like, oh, this is Katie. This is so much better than that New Year's trip. I can't even tell you. Like, that New Year's trip, Like, it was so bad.
B
Like, it was people saying it was my nightmare fuel. Like, I like the house. I think about it all the time.
A
Yeah. Someone told me that it they wake.
B
Up and they see nightmares set there in that house that we.
A
The house was awful. Oh, my gosh. It was a horrible time. And then, like, it got to a point where it was brought up again on, like, the second day. And I was like, guys, I have to tell you, like, I organized that trip. Like. Like, I remember getting the group together, booking there, being me.
B
I felt so bad because it. Oh, my God, it was. It was really funny. But also, I think we're all like. I just remember you, me, and Katie talking about it because it was like a ton of my friends, a ton of your friends, a ton of Katie's friends. So it was like, it really could have been any of us. But I was like, wait, so you're the one that, like, put your card down. Totally.
A
It was all of our responses. I will take responsibility for, like, all, I feel like, because we all brought friends. Like, you brought friends. I brought friends. But I feel like I definitely picked that it would be me. Like, I totally. There was no.
B
We signed off on it. Like, it's. I. Yeah.
A
Limited inventory. Because we booked it last minute.
B
Last minute. Because everyone was. Look, we. That year, we were like, we're not gonna plan anything. And then, sure enough, no one planned anything. No one planned anything. So it left on the gals.
A
Yes.
B
And so we pull. And I. I remember though, when we were booking, we were like, all right, let's see. You know, it wasn't like we were 100, so. But I felt bad, but I was like, oh, my God. I literally didn't associate you with that. And I still don't associate. Like, in my head, it was like all of our doing. So I was like, it was.
A
It was. No, but it was really. Both had, like, different experiences. I feel like on the trip, there were so many people there.
B

Quints.com gals this episode is sponsored by Better Help. Oh my gosh. The sun is setting at 4:30, which normally I spiral and I go into like bouts of seasonal sadness. But this year I'm really getting ahead of it. Actually something that I'm really prioritizing is like still reaching out to friends and family. I feel like in this year time of year, like I hibernate. I like don't talk to anyone and I just like kind of do me. But I'm actually making like such an effort to really like reach out to people. I've been trying to make plans with like old friends. And it really like, it makes me have that feeling of like, oh my gosh, I should have just done this sooner. Like, it just feels so great. And I feel like that is like really kind of like the feeling that you have in therapy. Like the why didn't I do this sooner thing. I'm keeping up with therapy definitely through the winter months because I just feel like it's really important to really keep your mind right. B
It was a lot of personalities. It was a trip where we were trying to mix a lot of our friends and, like, it went well in that way, but, like, you know, fighting.
A
Or anything like that. Yeah, it's just more so, like, it's a lot to manage. A lot of different people in one place and a trip on top of it. Like, it's different if it's like a party or a dinner or something, but when it's a whole weekend. And it was. I remember there was like, so many days, like, we had to fill days of activities. We were bored. Oh, there was no town.
B
There was no town to, like, go get cute coffees out.
A
The entire. It was frozen. Do you remember? So the entire driveway, an enormous paved driveway turned into a sheet of ice, and people were sitting, slipping and falling.
B
And it was hitting their head. Like, there were hospital visits. It was the time, you guys. I don't remember. I don't remember. We must have recapped it on the podcast.
A
No, when we probably said it was great.
B
Yeah, we probably thought it was great. But let me tell you. And it. It was great.
A
Love it. Katie. This is so much better than the New Year's trip. I can't stress that enough.
B
And I, Brooke, had definitely a better experience that trip. I had something happen at the end of the trip to.
A
It didn't end well.
B
Yeah, it just didn't end well to one of my friends. And, like, I think now I'm just like, oh, my God. Like.
A
No, totally, Totally. I feel when you have multiple houses on a trip, like, people have completely. Yeah.
B
We weren't even in the same house.
A
Yeah. So we had. We were on two different.
B
You had the hot tub in your house.
A
No, I know. I.
B
You. I had, like, the big sauna. You had the big room. I was in this, you know, little. It was cute. That was like a cabin died house.
A
I remember the third house was. Was a little.
B
Oh, I know.
A
You were in, like, the second best house.
B
I feel like Clara was in this, the little house.
A
Yeah.
B
But. But I do have so many good memories from that trip, too, because that's when Georgia beat Ohio Or Oklahoma, one of the O teams. And it was like also the ball was dropping at the very second, which to some people probably hated that. But it was a really. That was a really.
A
I remember that was memorable.
B
It was memorable. And we did like. Everyone brought different shots. Everyone made different shots. I got so drunk.
A
Oh my God.
B
It was fun.
A
Wow. That was so fun. Okay. Anyways, going back to Katie's. Much, much better. Much, much, much better trip.
B
Much, much better.
A
Much.
B
We're older, wiser.
A
It really was such a great trip. I feel like she got a good group of people together.
B
There was 20 of us. Yeah, 21. 21.
A
Yeah. Was her. A lot of her friends from college and like their partners, their boyfriends. Partners. No, I have to say partners because they're married.
B
We've got fiance's husbands and girlfriends and boyfriends.
A
Yes. And then Clara, you, me. Was that it? Yeah, yeah, yeah, I guess. Yeah, that. Yeah. Yeah.
B
Well, Adam's not a college Adam's friend.
A
I always associate him with Elon too. Like I'm just like all these Elon kids. Yeah.
B
And he like. I think he would like that. I feel like he. Cuz he's like basically all their friends. So it was a really, really good time. We'll get get into all of it soon. But should we do our glam on the go?
A
Yeah, we should.
B
What are you glamming these days? What beauty product are you loving?
A
I'm trying to perfect my at home blowout.
B
You are doing it well. We all complimented you this weekend. And you, I thought you got a blowout.
A
Thanks. I. I did it again, but then I sweat profusely with it. So like now it's like I tried to blow, you know?
B
Yeah.
A
Like it's not so great right now. But Bridget herself acquired style. She had a fabulous blowout.
B
Oh yeah.
A
So I was like, please tell me, like, you know, what did you sit with the curlers and for hours. What did you do? And she was like, no, honestly, she told me it was a combination of l', Oreal, Elnet, hairspray and Day hairspray. And I've used l' Oreal lna. That's like in my rose. So good. But the day one I had it in my drawer. Never used it. That chick puts your hair on lock, let me tell you.
B
Seen it. Is it aerosol?
A
Yeah, aerosol. Pink bottle. Are they all pink? I feel like all the day that, like bright. Yes. I remember like getting in NPR being like, I'm gonna stow this away for a rainy day.
B
And like, yeah.
A
And then it. Oh, let me tell you, I didn't really understand hairspray.
B
Yeah.
A
Like, for the longest time I was like, I don't want my hair to be crunchy. But that's not what it does. It's not.
B
Oh, I just said yeah. But actually, no. What, you didn't understand hairspray?
A
No, I understood it, but, like, I feel like I would just be like, nah, I don't need hairspray. Like at like, dry bar or some places, like, for you would say no or be really light.
B
Yeah.
A
But like, why no?
B
It's amazing. And most hairspray now is pretty flexible.
A
Yeah.
B
Like, especially l' Oreal Elnet.
A
Very flexible.
B
My God, you can just brush right through it.
A
Yeah, for sure. Yeah. So good stuff.
B
So those two combo, that's a. That's a fun little unique hack.
A
It is.
B
I don't know that.
A
Yeah, I don't think so. That was like, literally just me asking her for it. But yeah, specifically the day, because I'll not spin in my rotation and like, it's good.
B
So the mix of the two.
A
Yeah.
B
Put the thing.
A
Put the thing in your hair and then it lasts perfect. Yeah. How about you?
B
I've been loving this Givenchy Prism Libre pressed powder. I don't know if you've got. I've like, yeah, I tried the PR before. I really, really, really, really, really like it. I was forever using the Fenty Invisimat powder. I still love it. But I am realizing, and after talking to Kellyanne about it too, it's more of a touch up powder rather than setting powder for my skin. For me, like, I really like having it in my bag. But the Givenchy, the pressed powder, I really, really like. I feel like as soon as I put it on my skin, it blurs. It's obviously not like a specific skin tone color. So, like, I don't have to worry about it matching perfectly or not. Because sometimes with like the Mac one and stuff like that, if it's not the right shade, I'm like, oh, my God, it looks so bad right now. So I like that. This is, like, good for that.
A
I get that. Yes. I like.
B
And it's color correcting, so I've been really loving it. It's the Sephora savings event right now.
A
I don't know.
B
When did we start? I've always said Sephora sale, and now everyone's calling it the savings event. Maybe it's always been that.
A
I'm. I'm not calling it that.
B
Okay. Thank you.
A
So savings Event.
B
Yeah, that's what it says on the website. Sephora Savings.
A
I feel like that's like the government name. Like, you know what I mean?
B
Like, it's.
A
Yeah, to us it's the Sephora sale. To them it's the.
B
Okay, perfect. I'm glad we're aligned there. But I bought like two more of the Givenchy powders. So that's, you know, that's saying something, I think.
A
Wow, two of them. So you got it on lock.
B
Yeah, because I like to have one in my purse.
A
Oh, you're.
B
But I also just bought the Fenty. They came out the Mini Invisimat. Oh, how cute is that? With a little puff.
A
Love that.
B
So I think that's cool too, for your purse. Just kind of figuring it all out. Always trying new products. I always laugh at myself. I'm like, I just bought like a ton of beauty products this morning from Sephora just so I'm hoping it'll make me look better, you know, like, you just think it'll change everything. And sometimes it does.
A
Sometimes it does. Sometimes it really is like the placement of the products. Which is why like Kellyanne's videos and like tips and stuff, like, do change.
B
They do.
A
The way your makeup looks, I feel like that has been like the application for me. Yeah.
B
The lighter hand having a lighter so hard.
A
So I'm so heavy handed, like dragging my skin down.
B
I know, same like rubbing it in and she's like, no, light handed to Michael King.
A
I got a comment on one of my YouTube videos. Like, when you put on your skin care, like rub upward. Not please, please, please. And I. Yes, but like how do you blend in? Lotion rubbing upwards.
B
Explain that to me. I. I know. Like, it, it just kind of in circles.
A
Like I, I could do it maybe to the side but rubbing in an upward and I Gua sha and stuff. So that's.
B
Yeah, you know, you know what you're doing.
A
But it's hard to like really rub in like a few thick moisturizer. Upward motion. Like how the are we?
B
No, how are you? Because then it's like only on the top of your. Like it needs to be on the bottom half of your face too. No, I totally agree. I don't, I don't know.
A
We'll have to watch videos too.
B
Yeah. Panicked.
A
Panic.
B
What panicked you this week? I'm dying to know.
A
Well, if you guys can't tell, this is our first time like recording together in a minute. Like, I feel like we have so much to catch you up on. Yeah, there's a lot of. Lot of a backlore, basically because we recorded the Halloween. Yeah. Like, we've lived so many lives.
B
We've lived so many lives since we've recorded last. It feels like.
A
Yes. But we've obviously been connected every day.
B
Like, that's the thing.
A
So I held someone's baby. I held someone's baby. I know.
B
Wow.
A
I. I went to my friend from home's house.
B
This is crazy.
A
And all my friends from high school were there. And my friend from high school brought her baby.
B
Oh, boy.
A
And I knew I was gonna be meeting it for the first time. Now it's, like, six months old, so I have to say, I didn't have to hold the head.
B
I didn't know.
A
Whatever. Like, it's getting, like, moving.
B
Wait, what's the gender?
A
A girl.
B
Okay. She. Yeah, I kept saying it.
A
I know. I need to stop.
B
No, I do the same thing.
A
No, I know.
B
It's because it's like, this little thing. I think people can relate.
A
I. I texted my mom. I said, I. I held it. And she was like, it. Like. Brooks. What? What do you mean it? Like. And I don't know why. Like, I just.
B
I think because you're thinking I held the baby, so it's. I held the dog. I held it. Like, I. I know what you mean.
A
Like, I. I'm not. I do see it as a person, but I see a baby as a baby.
B
They're still forming.
A
Yeah, it's still forming.
B
I just couldn't remember. Okay. So.
A
Yeah, so I held her, and it was lovely. It was kind of an experience that they were. Other people were holding her. Peer pressure, passing down the line, per se. But it was like. Like, clearly, if you wanted to, you could.
B
Yeah.
A
You know, And I think once they get a little older, it's a little, like, more acceptable for, like, everyone to hold it. Right. It. Oh, my God. I didn't even notice, actually. I'm trying to think who really, like, pioneered. I think Ben was like, you should do it. Like, you should do. Like, we're here. Like, you should do it. And I was like, I don't know. And then, like.
B
Because you've never held a baby.
A
No. And they, you know, set me up right with her. And it was honestly a really positive experience, I have to say. No tears. I didn't have to support that.
B
And so you sat down on a couch, and they just kind of placed her.
A
I was at, like. Like, it was like backyard barbecue. Like, so, you know, like, oh, we're outside. Yeah. So I Was like, you know, like, one of, like, a sturdy chair.
B
Yes. You know, I made sure I was to know. Anyone film this?
A
Maybe someone has a photo there. There. Probably photo I got somewhere. I find it, too. Yeah, that's cute. But for proof.
B
I don't believe it.
A
Yeah. Documentation.
B
Yeah.
A
It was a really good time and really so nice to, like, see them be. So I was worried at first, but, like, then I was totally, completely fine. There were, like, bees in the vicinity, which freaked me out a little bit.
B
Imagine you're holding the baby and there's a bee. I don't know what you would.
A
No, I was like, I would have to take the bullet.
B
Yeah, you would, because you're holding the baby instead. Sting me instead. My biggest fear.
A
No, I literally would, like, cradle it her. Oh, my gosh. I'm sorry, guys. We're working on it, but it's good. It's. I feel like I'm really, you know, getting. I know. People are so shocked. They're like, how do you not have it? Like, I don't really have.
B
No.
A
This is the first time my cousins are having kids, so now I'm at the point where I'm around more.
B
I mean, literally saying we. But I haven't held a baby since I was, like, 10.
A
I. Yeah, since I was, like, 5. And they brought my brother home, and I said, please bring him back.
B
Like, okay. Yeah. So we're in the same. Yeah. So I think there's other people, too. It's just a lot of our friends, I feel, like, have older siblings or whatever. Like, we. We are the eldest daughters. Yeah.
A
Like, we're not. We're not auntie. Like, no. Yeah.
B
Oh, my gosh. I'm so proud of you.
A
Thank you. Once you did it, I was like, I can do it. And once they were like, you don't have to support her head. Like, you know, she's fully.
B
Yeah.
A
Like, I was like, easy. Say less.
B
Yeah, that's easier than even I had it. She was holding up her head. That's nice. So I hear. I don't know.
A
Maybe next time.
B
Maybe next time. Maybe in six months. Yes.
A
Yes. Wow.
B
I'm really proud of you. Thank you for sharing with all of us. So my panic of the week was that, so, like, Brooke said, we did a murder mystery party or a murder mystery game within Katie's birthday weekend, which was so fun. We got assigned our characters, honestly, like, a month before, maybe three weeks before, so we could, like, buy costumes and stuff, which was really, really fun to kind of lean into that And I. When we did this New Year's trip a few years ago, we did a murder mystery party. And that one we did, it was a random sel. Like, I think it was basically like drawing out of a hat who was the murderer.
A
Right. The last time we did it. Yeah. It could have been anybody. There was no. Like, the script was the same no matter what, right?
B
Like, yeah, yeah. And I think it was, like, at the end, it was like, if you're the murderer, read this. If not. I. I don't remember.
A
I want to say it was completely. It was definitely random draw. The person who organized it didn't. Did not know. Yeah, that was. It was. That was more so. The last time we did was more so like, reading lines. Like, I feel like we went. It was like. It was like a table read.
B
It was a table read, which was fun in its own way, too, because we all had lines and stuff. This one was more like improv, honestly. I mean, it was. We were given objectives and loose background.
A
On your character, but I feel like I didn't study my background enough. I wasn't.
B
No, me either.
A
I didn't. You. No. You kind of were method acting that day.
B
Well, yes, because I bought my. My fedora hat, which Brooke could not get over. She was like, you're wearing a fedora. I was like, yeah. Like, I think the vibes of my character because everyone else were like, flapper girls. And I was just like, let me lean into this, like, different vibe.
A
Because it said on the description of your character to wear fedora.
B
Yeah, we're not.
A
Did it say fedora?
B
Yeah.
A
Oh, okay. And it said, like, more of that energy, but for literally, I think every other girl, it was like, you're a cutesy little flop.
B
No.
A
100.
B
But to be fair, I actually didn't really remember that it said to wear a fedora, which makes sense why I bought it. And so then when I was relooking that day of the game, I was like, oh, it actually told me to wear a fedora.
A
Subconsciously. You were. No, you dressed great for the character.
B
So did you.
A
Oh, thank you.
B
Your dress. Tell the bit about your dress because you got it on pickle and how it was labeled.
A
Got it on pickle was. It was labeled Taylor Swift, Fearless era dress, slash 1920, which is.
B
I could see it being perfect for fearless or for the flapper. I. I loved your outfit. I love seeing everyone in the flapper outfits. I think it's such a cute look.
A
It was giving gals on the go stage.
B
Honestly, it was giving.
A
Go for stage.
B
Yes, 100%. So going into this one, Katie told us she picked the murderer, but none of us knew. And she was like, you're not.
A
She thought.
B
She was like, none of you are going to know. Like, we will all find out together who the murderer was. And I was like, okay. And I was the murderer a few years ago. So I kind of wrote myself off. But then a part of me, I was like, what if she would choose me? Because it would be, like, less obvious, literally.
A
Ben said, what are the odds Daniel would be the murderer twice?
B
He's so intuitive.
A
So it's not Danielle. Like, before we started.
B
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
A
Just talking about it, I was kind of nervous. Honestly, it was gonna be me.
B
I thought it was you in Adam's video. I said it was gonna be you.
A
And honestly, at one point, Ben was acting sass. I was like, it's you. I know it's you.
B
Yeah.
A
Because everyone's, like, secretly reading their folder.
B
Yep. Was he, like, holding it close?
A
Yeah. I was like, why are you being so weird about this? Like, come on. Like.
B
No, I know. I was. Well, I was being the same way. Well, okay, so. So anyways, Katie, we're about to. We're all given pamphlets at the table, and. And Katie's like, okay, everyone, you can open your pamphlets. Keep them close to you. But also, we're not gonna. No one's gonna, like, know that they're the murderer. So I opened my pamphlet, and there is a ton of objectives, all these things, and I'm. I'm trying to read it as best I can, but I was just like, okay, like, cool. Whatever.
A
For reference, you had to lick your finger and flip through. Like, you had, like, a book of information. Like, you had multiple pages of documents. You're like, let me reference. Yes, I do know.
B
Like, But I didn't know that. But then we were talking, and Brooke was. Of course, she. She looks over people's shoulders sometimes. And Brooke goes, you've got a lot of words.
A
Are you slipping?
B
Yeah.
A
What are you flipping through? I was like, I have guys. I have three bullets. My page is empty. I said I was making jokes before. I was like, there's no small parts, only small actors. I. I was a small part. No, like, I was a small part. I had. I was never even mentioned. I was never. Never considered to be a suspect. I was not mentioned in the plot. I thought that I was going to be a major character. I was a minor.
B
I did, too.
A
I was a. I might as well have been A tree.
B
It's so funny, because I think Colby told her. She was like, by the way, like, I think you guys are gonna have some bigger roles.
A
She was like, you know, Katie picked the experience. I was like, experience? We're stepping up to the plate. Like, no worries.
B
But then, remember, we brought it up to Katie, and Katie was like, no, not necessarily. Like, she said something. So then I was like, oh, we're definitely not the murderers.
A
Whatever.
B
Okay, so you know how life gets. Work, travel, social plans, trying to have a life. Sometimes fitting in a workout feels like another job. I love Pilates. I really do. But sometimes the reformer can be intimidating. Like, am I doing this right? Why are there so many springs? Especially when I'm alone? So I've been using Tonal. Tonal has genuinely revolutionized home strength training. And now they've reimagined Pilates, which is so cool. There's no hulking reformer or complicated setup. Instead, tonal uses personal resistance that automatically adjusts to the optimal resistance as you get stronger. So it's truly tailored to you. Plus, you get expert guidance from coach Kristen McGee. So your form is actually correct. And you get so much more out of each move. And the benefits have been real. Deeper mobility, stronger core, more muscle definition. And honestly, you just feel more grounded and less stressed. And what I love is that Pilates on Tonal complements strength training in the best way. When your mobility and range of motion improves, your other workouts improve too. And it's not just Pilates. Tonal has a growing library of 3,000-reouts. Strength, cardio, yoga, recovery sessions. It really is the ultimate strength training system. A full gym's worth of equipment, plus coaching from Expert personal trainers. 24, 7, right in your home. Black Friday early access is on for a limited time. Tonal is offering our listeners $750 off your tonal to purchase. That's tonal.com for $750 off your purchase. Tonal.com for $750 off. So we open the pamphlets I'm reading through, and then the game begins. And you're just basically, you have objectives like, go ask, blah, blah, this and stuff like that. And then at the end, the detective kind of reads this whole thing. So we're like 10, 15 minutes in, and I'm thinking kind of almost every character has had to come up to me to ask me something, and they're like, inquiring things. And I was just starting to get like, whoa, am I, like, important? Whatever, Nothing, nothing. And then I'm just Flipping through my objectives as I do, licking my finger. And all of a sudden I just see you are the killer.
A
Was it the last line on the page?
B
No, it was like, right in the middle. In the middle of a paragraph. Like, it wasn't clear because it didn't.
A
What is it gonna be in red?
B
It was better that way. That would have been a hundred percent. Because there was. Because. Oh, my God. So then I see that, and immediately my heart starts being so fat.
A
I'm like, holy.
B
Oh, my God. Katie. She chose me again, holy. So then I'm panicking. I'm like, is this real? Is this right? Like, there's no way.
A
Yeah.
B
So finally I'm like. I said her character's name. I was like, could you come over here, please? You know, just pretending like I have an objective to talk to her. And I really didn't want anyone else to see. I was like, is this right? So I just, like, pointed at it. And she goes, she was shot shocked that I knew because she thought it's.
A
Supposed to be a big surprise till the end.
B
Yeah. But personally, I actually liked knowing. But selfishly, I think.
A
I think you had for the murderer to know.
B
It's. It's good because then you're a little bit more devious with it.
A
And I think you needed to know.
B
Yeah, I think so too. No one was suspicious of me other than, I guess, Ben. Like, no one else really said I. Like, when we were guessing at the end.
A
Yeah.
B
But I. So immediately I panicked. And then I started to get really nervous. And in my head I was like, oh, my God. Oh, my God. So I ran over. Clara was bartender the whole week, like, as a joke, but, like, she just makes really great cocktails. And I was like, claire, could you make me a shot? And she was like, yeah, and she's taking her time. And I was like, clara, could you.
A
Please hurry up with that?
B
And I felt so bad. I, like, totally stabbed her because I was just like, I need, like, a little happy shot.
A
You gotta get there.
B
And I saw you in the corner be like, oh, there's my character's name taking a shot.
A
Oh, because I just saw the. The fedora covering your eyes. That's, like, why it was so funny, guys, because, like, her face was covered. And then she would, like, just emerge from it. And, like, just a smirk was on your face. Like, every time I feel like I would catch your glance from across the room, you'd, like, have a little tip the fedora, like, up. And then, like, be like, I would.
B
Purposely look at you. Do a subtle nod. It was very fun. It was.
A
And then no one else could wear the fedora and do it. Like, you had to do it. And you assumed that role for the rest of the night. It just kept coming up. It was so fun. I feel like we were telling stories the rest of the night out of character.
B
Well, then it was like the game.
A
And you were like, hey, between you.
B
And me, I have to know Brooke. I have a video that, unfortunately, I don't think will go on the Internet. But Brooke was laughing so hard at me, and I was like, I need to take a video of this.
A
I dropped to the floor.
B
She dropped to the floor. Her face was red from, like, laughing so hard at me.
A
It was. But I'm glad, like, Adam thought it was funny, too. Like, oh, everyone else saying, but it.
B
Was just a big win for me.
A
Big win for the night. Yeah. Yeah. Well, because then. Okay, now you have to keep going. So you were nervous. That's why. That was your panic.
B
Yeah, that. That's my panic. And honestly. Yeah, I was panicked. And then I just, like, kept going on. And then, like, I feel like since we all thought the murderer didn't know, I was talking to one of the girls and, you know, during these. Doing the objectives, and she was like, wait. Because I couldn't figure out something. She's like, let me look for you. I was like, oh, no. Katie said not to show other people their booklets. So I'm panicking because it does say I'm the killer on, like, a rule follower.
A
Like, it's like, oh, okay, you're lame.
B
Yeah.
A
Yeah.
B
But then I thought she'd be on to me, and she still wasn't. And then really, everyone, I think, thought it was Adam.
A
Yeah. Because he was mentioned in everybody. He. I was three bullets, and it was like, chappie, pick something up off the floor.
B
I also think it worked out because when we got assigned our characters, I told Katie Ryan wasn't gonna be able to come, so my character didn't have, like, a partner. Whereas, like, it was fun for you and Ben to have characters together. So it maybe it just, like, worked out. I was like, oh, Danielle. Like, you know, I understand that person.
A
I understand they. Everything was so well executed. The murder itself. I didn't realize that it was starting.
B
Oh, my God. Oh, my God.
A
Literally, theater. Like, it was so well done. Katie had the. There was only, I think, one guy there that had a theater background, and she had him be, like, the major character.
B
Like, oh, that's the Killer or the. The dead.
A
Yes.
B
He's done theater before. That makes sense.
A
Huge theater background, apparently.
B
Okay.
A
Because I kept. I was like, I am just so. And then they were like, no, no. Like, there was, like, a history. Things there. I was like, this makes so much more sense because we're all sitting at.
B
The dinner table eating.
A
Yeah.
B
Katie was standing up, being weird. Yeah, she was.
A
I was like, you know, she was, like, filming, and then, like, whatever. And then all of a sudden, like, I think she yelled. She was like, blah, blah. The character name is dead. He's dead. And.
B
And we were in, like, an outdoor indoor dining area, but there were windows into the house. So then we. At least for my pov, we looked through the window and we see there's some guy hanging over the piano arm.
A
He played it so well. And he kept, like, hitting the keys. Like, it was really funny.
B
Like, so do you think he opened his pamphlet and it said, like, go do, like. I wonder if I had a discussion.
A
In advance because that was a major role we need.
B
Yeah, that's a major. Like. Because all of a sudden he was just over the piano and he really played the dead part. We all went around and we're looking at.
A
Yeah, we were, like, dead. Yeah.
B
Claire's like my son.
A
It was. It was well done. There was, like, evidence on the table there. This was a very fun game because it was like, example A, example B. Like, you could have fig. Figured it out probably if you did everything right and, like, really looked at the evidence. And really, I feel like we needed even more time to be in our characters walking around. Even though we had plenty of time.
B
We had a lot of time.
A
I know, but maybe an additional 15 minutes would have done it.
B
Yeah. I think what. I'm guessing what happened is, like, everyone was like, I did all of my objectives, but I think other people even, like, if you. And I didn't, like, there was nothing for me to talk to. But, like, if we had talked, you might have been like, oh, that's weird. You know, certain things.
A
No, my clues were like, oh, it's gonna be like the scorned lover plot. So then I was telling everybody that I was like, oh, I have information on this. My three bullets. I can't believe it. I. I can't even believe I wasn't. I wasn't accused. I was never mentioned. It happened in my establishment.
B
Like, I really thought for sure she was gonna have you be the murderer.
A
I don't think I would have been able to hold it in as good as you and then you started doing improv lines at the end. It was like, it's part of. I, like, literally would, like, whispered. I was like, is this part of the script, Danielle? Because you were like.
B
I felt like I had to deliver.
A
I did it. It. I did it.
B
Like, I. I know I gave this whole. Because I had my objectives. I was like, let me give a monologue, but no one was having it. Honestly, I gave, like, three sentences, and everyone started talking.
A
Yeah. It wasn't like last time when it was theater in the round, and.
B
Yeah, when I jumped to my knees. But it was. It was a really fun time. The weekend was seriously amazing.
A
Like, what's the game? What's that game?
B
Fishbowl or salad bowls?
A
Yeah, they're going salad bowl. I was like, what is this game? I love. That was my first time playing it.
B
That was really, really fun where you. Basically. Everyone writes a ton of nouns, puts them in a bowl, like, on pieces of paper, and it's like, the first. There's two teams. The first round, you have to explain the word without using that word, but a ton of words, Whatever you want to say. Second round is. You can only use one word to describe it. Third round. Yeah, that was fun. Except it was a bit of an issue because people were doing, like, inside jokes.
A
Totally. You know, I'm like, oh, old Elon joke. Yeah. Like, I don't know. In the day. Yeah.
B
I don't know how to act that out.
A
Yeah. There was very niche references, which, like, we could do, like, you, me, Katie, totally do some niche references. But, like, I feel like.
B
But I don't think those people realize what the game was, because I think if you know what the game's gonna be like, you're like, oh, a noun. Okay.
A
All right. You do something, like, general. Yeah.
B
Yeah. So it was such a fun. Like, the foliage was amazing. We were in a town called Socrates.
A
Yeah. Highly suggest. I have to say, it's been my.
B
Favorite upstate towns over in the castle. You need to experience more upstate town.
A
I do.
B
I. I needed to rewrite my upstate story.
A
We'd rewrite. Oh, again. Jesus. Say it again.
B
I mean, you're like.
A
It was. I have to rewrite it. It was terrible. I want to erase it from my mind.
B
Like, oh, there's so much more. You guys don't even know. No, no, I am. Oh, it's so funny.
A
You do need to have more, like, upstate, like, cabin weekends. Maybe in the start of the new year, we can do one.
B
Yeah, no, I. I think I really like it. In the fall though.
A
Oh, you know, like it in the winter because it's too cold.
B
Yeah. So maybe that's also part of it. Like I think having the foliage, like foliage really makes me so happy.
A
And it was still like we could sit by the fire, not be like frozen.
B
Yeah. There wasn't any ice to slip on. Like.
A
Yes.
B
We could have like. I still could drink like an iced latte while we walked around the town.
A
Yes. Very cute town.
B
We went and got soup that was really fun. We sat at the bar, we dropped the recipe.
A
It was like. This is from a diner.
B
I love that you posted the soup. It was a good soup.
A
With bow tie noodles.
B
I mean like far falling.
A
I don't think I know many of the pasta names now that I think about it. Fusili. I know. Cuz it's like spicy fusili.
B
Yeah. I feel like a lot of times spaghetti carbonar.
A
I was about to say carbonar, but spaghetti. I'm trying to think of like big pasta names that like have it in the name, you know, Pen, of course.
B
Penne, of course. Rigatoni, cavatelli. And then there's cavatapi, I think, isn't there? I don't know. I feel like I'm always googling them. Agnolotti.
A
Is that the swig? Oh, no, I know. That one has like ribbon edges, right?
B
Yes. And then fettuccine, of course.
A
What's the one? That's a spiral. I really like that one.
B
But elbow.
A
No, no, no.
B
Like the big spirals.
A
Yeah.
B
Oh my God, you're making me hungry.
A
So good. I'm looking it up. Spiral pasta.
B
So not the. Well, there's a couple spirals. I'm thinking of like there's two.
A
There's different ones. This.
B
Oh, there's like.
A
That's.
B
Yeah, that's what I was thinking.
A
You were saying it. But then there's rotini, which is like a different type of spot. But I was talking about the one that's an open noodle. That is a spiral. Very niche. Anyways, open noodle. Open noodle.
B
I don't know that one.
A
Yeah.
B
There's so much pasta going around for everyone. There's enough for all of us.
A
Us.
B
All the different.
A
We all like pasta. I want to talk about, you know, since we. So we took a few weeks off the podcast. You guys wouldn't have never. You would have never known, but like.
B
You would have never known.
A
We wouldn't have known, but we just like got ahead of recordings and then I don't know in my head, I was like, come on, I'm on break.
B
Like, my God. Yeah. Some new holiday. Holidays, hobbies.
A
No, I. I became a hobby girl. Like, I decided, like, winter depression. Winter blues are.
B
Just get ahead.
A
I'm getting a complete. No, no, no, no. Not in this house. Nope.
B
You can't come in. No, the. The emoji with the two arms up.
A
No, no. What I picked up a few weeks ago, a few I think I've talked about. It was running.
B
Yes. Yeah, yeah. And you're still going strong, still sticking with it.
A
It's only a few times a week. It's really not that.
B
Yeah.
A
But it's amazing to see the improvement in my stamina. Like I said, I used to do one minute of running and get a cramp so bad that I had to stop. Stop. I'm not exaggerating. Like, I would be holding it. I know exactly where it would be. I'd be holding it the right side, right by the ribs. Like, I don't know if that's a universal experience.
B
Brooke, I. I can't run, so. Yes, I know. I know the feeling.
A
Let me tell you. You can. Because if I can, like, and I. I truly. I'm not trying to say this to be like, a preacher, like, everybody can run, like, but actually, it's amazing how quickly you build endurance in the running sense, because I can't believe that, like, now I. I can do it. And I'm, like, definitely tired, but I'm not, like, exhausted. Collapse. You know what I mean?
B
That's good. I always get so out of breath.
A
But you build. I did literally one minute of running, two minutes of walking for, like, many times, you know?
B
Yeah. I like that little hit. Hit is really good.
A
Yeah, yeah, yeah. You don't. I mean, you don't have to. I just more so mean it, like, in a way to be encouraging, because I never thought that I would ever. Like, I always thought that it was so crazy to be able to do anything more than a mile. I was like, you are. You're just built different than me. Like, unfortunately, like, I'm not built.
B
No. And that's the mindset I'm in right now. But then I texted you the other day. My brother sends me Brooks Instagram reel. I'm like, what is he sending me? I click on it. It's your running one, which I loved, by the way. And Freddie, what did he say? He goes, it'd be really good for you to do this together or something. Which was really cute, but it's so classic. Little brother, like, yeah, you should run, too.
A
Yeah. Well, my brother would probably say I need to do more weight, so, you know, we're both in the same position. Yeah. No. And people are like, you gotta run outside. I'm like, look, the treadmill's comfortable for me now. I know. It is. I. I did a run outside, and I. It was actually better, but I just feel so comfortable in my gym.
B
Yeah. And, like, it's about to get cold.
A
It's like, yeah, it's safe. I think I'll run outside when I. Like when it's practical to run outside. I mean, it is. We live in New York City. It's definitely practical to run outside.
B
It's good weather. I know. I mean, the New York Marathon, they had, like. Like amazing weather. I feel like, yeah, really perfect.
A
So that was hobby number one. Running hobby number one, hobby number two. You know me. I'm.
B
This came out of seriously nowhere.
A
No, it was a dream, I swear. I don't know. I actually don't know. I think it was. If I'm being honest, I truly do think it was a fit of mania. Like, I think that I.
B
A fit of me.
A
Like, I woke up one day and I was like, no, I. I'm gonna go to the needlepoint store today.
B
That's really cute.
A
I texted Kenzie Elizabeth, who's the CEO of Hobbies, if you don't know, she's been needle. Oh, my gosh. Needle pointing for years. And I feel like we used to watch her do it, and I would. I'd just be like, what? Similar to running. I was like, not interested. Not for me. I can't do it. But then I. I think I just saw that. How cozy it is. You get to do it on your couch. You can watch TV while you do it. You can listen to a podcast. Like, you could multitask while you do it, but it also keeps you off your phone.
B
Yeah. No needle pointing. I remember when we visited Kenzie in Texas this last year, the year before. It was cool because we were all talking that she was just needle pointing and loving life. And it does keep you off your phone and from doom scrolling and.
A
And you actually have, like, a product that you, like, make, which is very cool. Yeah, there's some.
B
There's a goal, which. The one thing that's so crazy is you were telling me if you want to get something finished, it takes, like.
A
Months from the stores that are local here at least. Yeah, I'm gonna sign them away. I'm gonna. I feel like online, there's probably like, yeah, faster, but businesses. But yeah, I went to like the needlepoint store uptown because you really have to go to the needlepoint store to like get all the supplies.
B
It looked really fun.
A
It was, it's. They have so many canvases. Like, that's the thing.
B
Yeah.
A
You would think it's just like florals or like, just maybe like words. But like they're so unique. I, I can't. It's a whole thing.
B
How's your brownstone one going?
A
I'm literally on the last line.
B
Oh my God.
A

A
I have a pop tart one. I don't know what I'm making into, but I want to do something with color because I haven't really done that yet. And this one, I got some fun, like, threads for it that are, like, colorful and shiny and stuff.
B
So that'll be cool.
A
It will be cool.
B
I saw Kenzie's been doing some bag charms. Or she. Well, I guess that's her goal, is to make them bag charms. That is. That's really fun.
A
It's. I. I like, I've never really had a hobby where, like, you have a finished product.
B
Yeah, that's really cool.
A
That's why it's very cool.
B
And it's just. I really love the look and there's so many different things you can make it. Like, I. Brook, Brooke's taking commissions, actually. I told her I really want to make a belt for Ryan if she could.
A
Said, yes. I said, I'll take it. We'll have it by holiday. 2026. Yeah.
B
Yes.
A
And then we have to send out to get finished. So probably.
B
Yeah, that's really fun.
A
Really, really fun hobby.
B
And it's. I feel like you're starting it at the perfect time during the holidays, like, by the fire.
A
Cozy. I just wanted to get ahead of these things. And then I got the brick.
B
Oh, yeah. How's that going?
A
I'm taking inspo from, like, many people in my life. I think it's just like source sourcing.
B
We all inspire each other. At the end of the day, it's hard to cite your source.
A
Sometimes.
B
I feel like, ever, like, like, so true.
A
Well, Katie Bellotti got this device called a brick, and I was very intrigued by it. Basically, it locks you out of your apps. You can select what apps. I have three. I did Tick Tock, Instagram, and what else did I do?
B
What else would you do?
A
I'm like, I feel like I did. Oh, I think I did. I do Twitter. I might have just done thrown Twitter in there too. Just because.
B
Why not?
A
Yeah. I didn't do YouTube because I was like, just in case I want to, like, no video or something different. Long form. Yeah. But I feel like it's Instagram and Tick Tock that I get lost on, especially at night. I don't do it every night because sometimes I'm like, needle pointing and busy anyways. But I have to say, it is something about, like, the physical barrier. You, like, scan it basically to your phone and then you have to unscan it to your phone to, like, log you back. Yeah.
B
Where do you put the brick when.
A
You'Re people that they're like, what happens if you lose the brick? I have no clue. Oh, my God. No, I've gotten that question. That's the number one question I get. I have no clue. Just don't lose it.
B
Just don't.
A
Yeah.
B
I feel like you could just put it in the same place every time or totally. That's like, just hard. Like, if you're in your bed or on the couch, like, you don't want to get up and get it.
A
Yeah. So I have mine, as far as I know, on my trash can because it's a magnetic surface. Very random. Oh, so it'll on the outside of it. Yeah. Like a simple human trap. So I just know it's in the kitchen. I know exactly. It's there. It's a strong magnet. Like, it's not going anywhere.
B
That's.
A
That's a good one.
B
That's a good suggestion to all the.
A
People because people are like, doing their cabinets stuff. I don't know. It's like 40 bucks. They're not making you pay subscription yet. Oh, my God. Imagine like everything has a damn subscription.
B
Everything. The hatch, the TV or a ring. It's like you buy it and then it's the subscription. But. But you want the bonus pictures.
A
You have to.
B
I definitely think you have been more offline. Like, I feel like a few times this weekend I brought things up and you're like, I haven't seen that. What?
A
But it's like it feels good. I don't know how to describe it.
B
I don't feel.
A
I don't feel fomo. I think. Think. But if this was me two years ago, I would have been like, oh, my God, I'm missing out. Like, I need to know. I need to stay up to date. And I don't know, I just am.
B
Like, I need to know basis. You're on a need.
A
Yeah. And I'm trying to, like, seek inspiration from other sources. As like, corny as that sounds, I feel like I've just gotten into a place where this is, like, deeper, but, like, where I'm so in it that Like, I don't have original thoughts anymore.
B
I don't know. I feel that way sometimes. I'm like, oh, my God, is anything my original thought anymore? I know.
A
Yeah. And not that it's to be so original, but.
B
No, I know what you mean, though.
A
Like, bring back thinking for yourself more so.
B
Right.
A
You know, I'm.
B
Rather than someone else's opinion, it's like, yeah, I feel that way too, now.
A
And then it's. It stays with you. That's the thing. So even if you don't actually believe it, it's like, oh, now you don't.
B
Even know you're saying it because of someone else. Maybe you just think it's your own thought.
A
Yes. I think I've gotten that way with a lot of just, like, New York City, LA influencers, which I love. I love following them. Most of them are my friends. But I just have gotten in a place where I'm like. Like, I'm. I. I feel like I don't know what's my thought and what's their thought. Like, it's all just one thought.
B
Yeah.
A
So that was deep.
B
No, I. I've been thinking that a lot about my, like, style recently. I'm like, oh, my God, what is my style? Like, I had a whole panic about it, and it's like, I'm just gonna keep wearing what I like to wear and, like, keep it at that. But you do get all, like, I get in my head. I'm like, am I wearing this because it's a trend or because I like it?
A
I mean, probably both. Like, that's the thing, right? Like, yeah, like. Like, you keep up with the trends because you like the trend.
B
I know. That's how I feel. And then I'm like, oh, my God. I don't know. So I. I know what you mean.
A
I think about that, too. Well, I think that we're both people that it's hard to kind of commit to one. Similar to the home thing with the Christmas decor. It's hard to pick one aesthetic.
B
100. Like, I was listening to a podcast today. I really love let's Get Dressed. That podcast.
A
Oh, that's a very good one. And it's. I like that she suggests you to find your own style. Find your. Your, you know, like, get a good T shirt. Find your perfect fit.
B
Like, yes. And stick to that. She was. She had Marin Taylor on today, who's Paige to Sorbo Paige Lorenzo stylist. And they were talking about, like, how both pages have their very specific aesthetic and style and I'm like. I feel like I don't have that because I'm. I really love, like, dressing to. You know, you always say, like, I'm a camouflage. Like, I love just, like, dressing for the vibe that I'm in the mood for where I'm at, so.
A
Which is completely okay, too. I think that some people, like, Katie has such a. Like, she's such a style.
B
Yeah.
A
Like, it's so specific, but I feel like I pick pieces that are just really, like, all over the place. And then I have this, like, the subconscious thoughts of, like, is it flattering? Which I'm trying to get rid of those. Yes. But, like, they definitely exist in my.
B
Yeah.
A
And, like, they're very hard to get those. To get out, you know, so it's a whole thing. But I don't know if you really need to. Like, I feel like.
B
I feel like, still at the end of the day. Sorry, I interrupted you.
A
No, I was gonna say personal style doesn't have to be in style, though, is the thing. Like, it could be reflective in the way that you, like. Yeah. Once again, decorate your home the way that you, like, carry yourself. Like, I do feel it goes so much further than that. No.
B
And I do feel like if we're shopping, like, I feel like there's moments I'm like, brooke, this is so you. And. Yeah, this is so you. And I love when people say that. It's like, oh, my God. So, okay, there is something that you think about when you think of me. Reminders of her.
A
Yes. I see Danielle.
B
And I see Danielle. Oh, my God.
A
That's.
B
Well, not speaking of. But I do have a confession to make.
A
Please, please.
B
Yes. This was the first year of Halloween where I did costumes and didn't wear them anywhere.
A
I. I asked. I asked. Yeah, because I saw you post. I was like, oh, I feel a little fomo. I guess I didn't get invited to something.
B
Oh, my God. Yeah. Brooke's like, what party are you going to? Exclamation point. I was like, oh, let me clear this up.
A
Right. Like, I'm gonna shut this down. Yeah. No, because I had just seen you, and you're like, I'm not doing anything this year. So I was like, oh, you last. Last minute invite. But, like, go.
B
Like.
A
Yeah.
B
No, I was tired. No, there was no way I was going anywhere. But I was just. I was real. I realized I do like Halloween. I do like dressing up. I love seeing what other people wear. I love getting creative with it. And I. And not that these were groundbreaking. Costumes, by any means. But I just, like, had a couple ideas that I just really wanted to do, so I did them. I just filmed a couple tick tocks. Didn't even take photos. Like, literally just made tick tocks and posted them and had fun with it.
A
And they look great.
B
Thank you so much. But I just wanted everyone here on the podcast to know our real people. I didn't go anywhere. I didn't go to any parties because it was the Thursday night I posted one of them, and then Friday we went to Katie's, so.
A
And Ryan's old sport. Good sport. Sweet.
B
Ryan old sport was Aaron Samuels from Mean Girls, so you guys can go look on my Instagram to see those.
A
It looked so good.
B
It was so easy. Like.
A
Yes.
B
We literally put socks in his shoulders to look like shoulder pads on the football jersey. And I bought a white corset on Amazon and bunny ears and was Regina George.
A
Like, it was.
B
Was so easy and so fun and, like, it put. It made me happy. And you know what? I dressed up on Halloween.
A
You. You told me that you're having the unlock, that you really like Halloween.
B
Yeah.
A
And that's. Hey, you're finding your style. Hey, that's on. Finding your style.
B
It's funny, though, because I don't love spooky things.
A
No, no. But you like costumes.
B
I like the costumes. I do. And I already told Brooke, next year, we're getting.
A
We're gonna lean in.
B
We're doing a photo shoot. We're doing the thing.
A
No, we're gonna lean in. But that will probably be my one and only costume then. Unless we go to a party or something like that, because I do like it, but it's a production. It is a product. Like, I feel like it's a production.
B
You know, we already know what we're being next year, so.
A
Yeah, we have it.
B
I guess things could change, but Unless.
A
Like, a brilliant idea comes.
B
Yeah, unless something better.
A
Yeah.
B
So just you guys wait. Yeah.
A
So it's your style to, like, Halloween. You really like most holidays, though.
B
Yeah. So do you.
A
Yeah, I got. Yeah, I do. Yeah. I like Valentine's Day a lot.
B
You and I both are very nostalgic. We like traditions, for sure.
A
Holidays, for sure.
B
I'm trying to think of a holiday that doesn't, like, get me.
A
It doesn't get you revved up? Because, like, Thanksgiving never got me revved up because, like, I didn't really do anything.
B
Oh, yeah.
A
But maybe. So maybe new traditions.
B
Yeah. Brooke dropped this on me today. She was like, I'm Doing Thanksgiving with Ben's family. I was like, what?
A
Yeah, I know.
B
Big, major news.
A
Big news. I know. That's, like, when you get to the point in life where it's like. Because we don't have to worry, really, about other holidays because his family's Jewish. My. My mom is Jewish, but she celebrates Christmas. No worries.
B
Good there.
A
Yeah. She's like, no, we celebrate Christmas, so we don't have to worry about, like, those sort of days, I guess, being a problem. But Thanksgiving, I feel like, is a universal. It's Thanksgiving.
B
Thanksgiving.
A
Thanksgiving, Yeah. I mean, you did with Ryan's family one year. I feel like you have to determine.
B
And, you know, I did do it with Ryan's family one year, and then, like, kind. I think it was kind of, like, to repay the favor in a way. He was like, I can, you know, come to you. And I was like, obviously, I'd love for you to come, but we kind of just like, made a decision. Until there's, like, a ring that bonds us, I think we're gonna. Not just. Because, selfishly, I love being home for Thanksgiving. Like, I. I just also, like, I was talking to Ryan's parents about it. They were like, oh, my God, like, your dog. Like, that's a big part of it. I see my family all the time. They come and visit all the time. Literally all the time. But my dog, Finley, I love it.
A
And.
B
But one year, I would really love to do Thanksgiving here and go see the parade. I mean, who doesn't want to do that? Like, hey, hey, if you want to.
A
Do it next year, that would be. You might need a place to have it because, like, it's kind of like the last things. Like, there was a reason behind this Thanksgiving, like, me going to it.
B
Yeah, there's a reason. There's a reason.
A
Like, I feel like it's a.
B
And that's why I went to Maine that one year.
A
Yes. Yes.
B
Yeah. It's like there's a. Something with the fam or a tradition. Like, there's always. And I feel like that's when you're like, no, no, I will be there a hundred percent. It's just like. But if it's just kind of a year of, like, oh, like, where I'm gonna do this. Okay, let's do it. Because there's gonna be a lot of years where you do it together.
A
So true. So, so true.
B
It makes sense why you're going this year.
A
I know. I feel like I gotta start hosting holidays because, like, I always want my family to be There, too. But, like, I know. Yeah, they invited my family. They were.
B
Yeah, yeah.
A
They were like. But my. My parents are gonna be involved in Florida. Yeah. He's, like, so looking forward to it, so. No, you can't take that away from them.
B
No, no, that's. That's the thing. Like, everyone wants a piece of everyone, so it's like, how do you. How do you make that happen? If you guys have tips on this, please give. Because I feel like that is, like, my biggest fear and, like, the. You know, and it's just, like, bound to happen, you know?
A
Yeah, of course. But I think that's when you do start hosting thing, right? Yeah.
B
I mean, in a perfect world, everyone's together.
A
Yeah.
B
But it. Yeah, I think there would be a time it's really special.
A
You bond the family, you invite your siblings, like, whatever.
B
Yeah, yeah, the siblings. I know. I feel like that's hard for the siblings because it's like, wait.
A
Yeah.
B
What?
A
Surprise. Yeah. What? I'm trying to see. What else? Oh. So on the note of seasonal sadness, I got. I'm a happy light. I finally got one.
B
Why did I think you had one? No.
A
Do you have one?
B
No. Oh, no. That's so cool. What's that? Like, a big one?
A
It's literally just a. It sits on the desk and it's just. It looks like a portable makeup mirror, but it's just a light.
B
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
A
I mean, I don't. Who's to say it does anything? I don't. I don't know particularly, but it is.
B
That's exciting. You're really getting ahead of it.
A
No, that's the thing. Like, you're like, oh, and I got my dose. I'm good. Like, yeah, yeah.
B
Like, I'm preparing for the rainbows and butterflies.
A
Know I've been a delight. I've been.
B
You have been a delight.
A
My retainer again. Like, life is good.
B
Yeah. Like, we're so up right now.
A
Yeah. Wait, so when do you get. What's that? Are there any updates?
B
Yep. I'm. Not next week, but the week after when we get back from our little trip that following Monday. Invisalign application.
A
Holy. What does that entail?
B
I don't know. They put them. They put the stickers on my teeth. I went to another appointment recently where they kind of said, where we're gonna put those little, like. Like, dots, because I told them for aesthetic purposes, like, I do not want you to be able to see them. So we're putting them all towards the back because really, we're just trying to move my bottom teeth. Like, it's not a big thing. We talked about the rubber bands again. I said, my guy, it's just not happening. Like, maybe I'll wear them at night, maybe. And he was like, no, it's fine. And he also told me, because I thought I was gonna have to wear.
A
Them for a year.
B
And he was like, honestly, you're probably gonna be happy with your smile in six months.
A
Yeah.
B
I was like, okay. And he was like, but the bite and everything, like.
A
And they're like, it's not perfect.
B
Oh, yeah. They were like, we'll probably tell you to keep going. But I was like, okay. Good to know. And that was good motivation for me to, like, really be on it. Because maybe after six months, like, I might be like, let's just take them. I don't care about my bite as much as the straightness of my teeth. So we'll see. But I'm excited.
A
It might be, like, committed to the bed. And you're like, I gotta finish this out.
B
Or I might be committed. Like they said. Some people just get really into it. So that's the update on my teeth. I'm really excited. Hopefully I don't sound too different. Or maybe I'll just take my trays out when we're recording.
A
I don't know. We'll see.
B
But yeah. I feel like there's so much more I want to talk about, but I feel like we need to wrap up this week's episode. So there'll just be so much more to talk about in next week's episode. I'm excited for your happy light and for needle pointing.
A
Thank you. I mean, the Sun's setting at 4:30. Like, we have to get ahead of things, guys.
B
Literally, it's.
A
It sets at 4:40 today.
B
Like, no.
A
Yes.
B
Wait, I'm so confused.
A
Let me tell you.
B
Let me get the exact. Oh, because we did fall back 4:49. Because normally it'd be 5:40.
A
Yeah, that's what I'm saying. Like, it's. That's very early. Like, it's a very early.
B
Yeah, the sun is setting right now. I, like, see the glistening.
A
I feel like I'm just getting my day going.
B
No, literally kind of feel like that.
A
I'm like, I just got going.
B
Like, I just did my makeup.
A
Literally, I'm like.
B
And we have. It's gonna be dark when we finish.
A
Like, and we work with a lot of people on the west coast, to be fair. So I feel like I'm like, we're always up late. Like, I'm on. I'm on a call. My. Like, it's midnight here in New York, but it's. You know, that sounds.
B
Yeah, it's midnight here in New York.
A
But it's actually like 6pm but it feels like it's. I'm like, I'm up past my bedtime.
B
Oh, so true. Oh, pray for us New Yorkers.
A
No, I'm kidding. Yeah.
B
Well, we love you guys so much. I really enjoyed doing this episode with you both.
A
Me too. Me too. We'll be back on video though, next week.
B
Back on video. You'll see our shining faces and hope you guys have an amazing rest of your week. We'll talk next week. Week.
A
Bye. Bye.

This episode is the epitome of cozy-girl-talk: best friends catching up, rating the level of panic in social situations, sharing beauty & lifestyle upgrades, laughing about group-trip disasters, and giving themselves (and, by extension, their audience) permission to be exactly who they are—even if that's a nostalgic, over-sharing, type-A, scented-candle-loving gal. The rapport is as warm as ever, and the insights into growing up, growing together, and growing more intentional are both relatable and delightful.
