30 seconds. Be specific. Be quick and tell. What are you going to be using the funds for? I was nervous to do it because it doesn't feel okay to ask money. But you shouldn't be nervous. Sometimes you just have to do it and see the results. We were able to save my son's life thanks to gofundme that we still have my son with us.

Brooke
The following podcast is a Dear Media production. My boyfriend, I mean, my fiance, he
Danielle
likes to knock things around.
Brooke
Wedding planning is like, literally the wild west.
Danielle
No one should have to do that.
Brooke
I'm like, so when are we actually in New York in the apartment that we pay for the entire year? I can't believe his dad said that to him.
Danielle
No, Susie, I was 2.
Brooke
I don't know where I'm gonna draw the line.
Danielle
I guess it's really starting to piss me off.
Brooke
It used to be two.
Danielle
I feel like that would be strike three with my friend.
Brooke
Too many friends.
Danielle
Hello, you guys. What's up? Welcome back to Gals in the Go podcast. I'm Danielle.
Brooke
And I'm Brooke. Happy Wednesday.
Danielle
Happy Wednesday. Brooke is holding her very fancy water.
Brooke
I decided to get the Lunin water that everyone's talking about. I mean, it was like the same price as other bougie waters. I feel like they're all like, $5.
Danielle
It's gorgeous.
Brooke
I just got really thirsty as soon as we started recording. And you were like, you've had two sips of water today, so, you know, I'm trying to be more conscious about that.
Danielle
Brooks had this water for, like, two and has barely taken a sip. But I've heard, yeah, the girlies are drinking Lunin water. This is not an ad. I'm just like, no, it's in a
Brooke
glass bottle, which, like, I do like the concept of the glass bottle. I think it's very chic.
Danielle
Save it.
Brooke
But it. Yeah. What would I use it for, though?
Danielle
Put water in it, Go to the gym tomorrow. They'll think you're drinking Lunin. But really it's tap.
Brooke
Oh, wow. I don't know. I could trick everybody into.
Danielle
Trick everybody? Yeah.
Brooke
I like the concept of the glass bottle, but it's not, like, convenient. Like, you can't, like, knock it around.
Danielle
Like, I don't know, you gotta keep it safe. You like to knock things around.
Brooke
You know, I'm knocking around.
Danielle
So how does it feel to be a fiance?
Brooke
Yeah, at the point where, like, I feel normal saying it, you know, Like, I don't. Like, in the beginning, I feel like I was, like, on the phone with people or, like, telling people I pick my fiance. My boyfriend. I mean, my fiance. We definitely still say, like, boyfriend. Like, you know, like, interchangeably. Like, just whenever it feels right. Yeah, it feels. It feels really great. Things are really finally settling in. I feel like, like legit. The day after I got engaged, people were like, you got to find a venue because, like, you know, they're booked so far out. And I was like, oh, my God, this is so stressful and, like, chaotic. I was like, I want to find a planner first. I think, crossing my fingers that I found the one. It's like dating, literally.
Danielle
And so you. You take initial calls, and then you bring your mom in for another call. I do.
Brooke
And then I'm like, can I include my associate? That's my associate. Yes. My mom. No. And she's acting like my momager in a lot of ways. I can show the contract. She's like, I will review the contract, you know.
Danielle
Oh, my God. Wait, that's cute.
Brooke
I did want to say, because wedding planning is, like, literally the wild west for me. Did you know that there's a difference between a wedding planner and a wedding designer?
Danielle
No.
Brooke
Yeah.
Danielle
What's this?
Brooke
No, this was so confusing to me because, like, on the phone, like, I'm different than the other girls because I do planning and design.
Danielle
I was like, oh, okay.
Brooke
What do you mean you do both? Didn't know that there was a separation planning Is like admin logistics. Like, you know, making sure that the venue is booked, making sure that everyone arrives at a certain time, making sure that the ceremony goes a certain way. Like really kind of show sort of
Danielle
runoff show lit coordination. Yeah.
Brooke
Because you could also get a day of coordinator. A lot of people do this for weddings. If you don't get a planner, you get the day of coordinator.
Danielle
Okay. Yeah, that makes sense.
Brooke
They're the woman with the clipboard.
Danielle
Yeah. Because no one, everyone should be enjoying the day. No one should have to do that. That's like part of the wedding. So that makes complete sense. Yeah.
Brooke
Because someone then like, you don't want like your family member necessarily to be like the bad guy. That's like, hurry up, get ready. Like, you know, it's kind of like a third party. That's like, I, hey, they're telling me I have to go, I can't take any more photos.
Danielle
True, true, true.
Brooke
Just to keep you on track because I think literally the minutes count on a wedding day. I don't know, I'm getting. But then there's. So that's like the planner.
Danielle
Yeah.
Brooke
And they also like, help you with the vision because they help you get your vendors and things like that. But then the design is legitimately everything from like the florals to the aesthetics to literally how the wedding, like looks and feels. I would say maybe the planner is more how it feels and the designers how it looks. So a lot of these companies that like, I've done like calls with the be like, oh, I'm just a designer. And I'm like, okay, so how do we find a planner? And they're like, oh, like we'll find a planner after we decide to work together. Or you do the plan first. I don't know.
Danielle
Planner should be first. Right.
Brooke
I kind of agree. And design, like, I, I don't know. I'm like, how much designer design are we really? Like, it's, it's a wedding.
Danielle
Like, it's your design.
Brooke
Like, literally it's like, we're not. I don't want like a full build out. Like, it could be. I, I want like special custom elements. Of course. But like, we don't need to like build an entire like, village set, you
Danielle
know, strike the set. Yeah.
Brooke
And it really makes you think about these like, really super lux, like celebrity weddings and stuff. Because they, that's like design, design. Like, that's like, you know, they're really like, they're building rooms, essentially.
Danielle
That's just like, yeah. Really trippy to think about that. There's two. That's just more money.
Brooke
No, it's so. It's endless money. You know I said, like, you made that TikTok? Yeah. I was like, wow, it's going to be really expensive. And it's even more like, it just
Danielle
is so one day, a very special big day. But it is crazy.
Brooke
No, And I could justify because I love an event.
Danielle
Yeah.
Brooke
And I know you do, too. Like, you know, some people. I completely understand that, like, we're just gonna elope or, like, whatever. Like, if events mean nothing to you, like, if you're just like, not like some people. I hate my birth. Like, if you're that type of person, like, maybe just don't even have, like, truly save your money.
Danielle
Have a wedding.
Brooke
Yeah. Because people are like, you know, you could buy a house. I agree. Like, I could buy a house. I mean, like, I already have a house, but, like, yeah, somehow Brook's house, my house.
Danielle
So you're dating wedding planners right now. Hopefully locking in on one soon. And then from there, what's the next step?
Brooke
Cuz I did a call yesterday with one who's more of, like, a designer, and they were like, oh, like, what's your, like, vibe? Like, what's the vision? I was like, like, I don't. And they're like, can you send us, like, a Pinterest board? I was like, no, I. I don't have one.
Danielle
Yeah. One thing about Brooke, she hasn't had wedding Pinterest boards.
Brooke
Do you.
Danielle
I like, do I just not. I don't actively try. It's just if I see something that I like, I'm like, oh, let me save it to my wedding board.
Brooke
Yeah.
Danielle
Just in case, over the years, you're like, what was that thing I saw?
Brooke
I have, like, random, like, place setting ideas saved and stuff. Like on TikTok, like, I have a folder there where it's like, oh, unique things to do at your wedding, or whatever. But not for the visual. Like, the color scheme of the flowers. How many flowers versus, like. So that's why I'm like, I don't really know. I kind of want this to be maybe a collaborative effort.
Danielle
Like, there's so much to think about, too. Like the flowers you hold when you're walking down the aisle.
Brooke
Or.
Danielle
No. Is that just the bridesmaids, maids?
Brooke
No, I think you do. Yeah. Because it's like the bridal bouquet. Because.
Danielle
Yeah. Yeah. Because you throw it. Yeah.
Brooke
I've already. Like, it's so funny. Like, the people who've reached out, like, I'm beyond blessed. Thank you. Keep it coming. Look.
Danielle
Still looking.
Brooke
Some, like, a floral company, like, where they preserve your bridal bouquet and, like, make it into, like, a piece of art. Like, they reach out. I'm like, we are so far away from that.
Danielle
Reach back out later.
Brooke
I was like, how about two years?
Danielle
Like, yeah, give me time.
Brooke
But that is so nice. So cool. But I'm like, wow. I have to. Like, the wedding's just a concept at this point. Like, a very, very vague concept.
Danielle
Yeah. And you don't even know when because you have to see venues that you
Brooke
like and then vils and whatever. All I know is that my mom is lit.
Danielle
She's lit. She charged up.
Brooke
She's activated, like, truly about all of this, Kitty. But I need it. I need that, like, energy to be, you know, like, let's do this. And she was on the phone today with, like, I brought her into a phone call with the planner, and she was like, we want it to be, you know, like, a story. Like, we want it to be like, the engagement party.
Danielle
Like a. A cohesive theme.
Brooke
Cohes.
Danielle
Yes, that makes sense.
Brooke
Cohesive but not redundant. That was the word that we use.
Danielle
Cohesive but not redundant.
Brooke
So much to think about with all of this wedding. I'm like, at the end of the day, I just want people to have fun. Like, yeah, like, it's nice to have, like, gorgeous wedding stationery and everything. Like, I love minted, like, the gorge. But, like, people are gonna remember how much fun they had, you know, I
Danielle
am the same way. Like, I just feel like it's all about, like, how much, like, you leave a wedding. You're like, I had so much fun. Maybe also, like, the food was really good.
Brooke
That's it. I guess I feel like the weddings I've had the most fun at are not necessarily the most expensive. Like, they have not. I've been to bougie affairs. Yeah.
Danielle
Yeah.
Brooke
So you have to set the tone. But.
Danielle
And then actually, not even the. Like, personally, for me, I'm not thinking about the food, actually.
Brooke
That's why it's interesting, because it'll be. That's also a common question. Common questions that I just don't have the answers to. They're like, what's. What? What are the most important things to you? And I'm like, well, everyone have fun. Like, duh. Okay. You and everybody else.
Danielle
Like, no.
Brooke
People want to say, like, I don't want my guest up. But, you know, some people are genuinely more, though, like.
Danielle
But I feel like that could be more of a Priority than like the looks or like, there could be priorities.
Brooke
Totally.
Danielle
What else did I ask you?
Brooke
I, I. With one. On one of the initial calls, I said the food.
Danielle
Food.
Brooke
And then I was like, actually, then again, like, wedding food is never going to be the best food you've ever had. No.
Danielle
Because they have to bulk make it.
Brooke
Yeah.
Danielle
I mean, that's my opinion. No, it's always like, do you want the steak, the chicken or the seafood option?
Brooke
Yeah.
Danielle
And that's just like, how it be.
Brooke
I want there to be plenty of food. I don't want it to be like, oh, I'm hungry or whatever. Like, I want. No, no. I want big cocktail like, you know, I want. That's like so like Long Island Italian. It's like you got to do the cocktail hour, like, with the stations.
Danielle
Jazz's was amazing.
Brooke
Yes.
Danielle
There was so much food.
Brooke
And she did the Venetian hour, the dessert.
Danielle
Venetian hour. Yeah. You loved that.
Brooke
That is like, you added your. Those are packages, you know.
Danielle
Yeah.
Brooke
Yeah. But I remember that from her wedding.
Danielle
Like, I remember you were taking photos. Like, this is great.
Brooke
Yeah. Taking pictures with all the different cakes. Yeah. So many options is so cool. Yeah. And then, and then you start to think about, like, the little extras, I guess, and things like that. I'm like, do I want to do like a photo booth and things like
Danielle
that option to add photo.
Brooke
There's so. That's like, so like after.
Danielle
I do love those.
Brooke
I know. It's fun because then you have like a little.
Danielle
I feel like you and Ben like, like to take photos and photo booths. Like, I feel like that's very. You guys too.
Brooke
I. I did hear the idea of do get cut out, like big size cutouts of you. Like the groom put them in the photo booth. Like, if you want to use it, you can.
Danielle
Yeah.
Brooke
I thought that was funny.
Danielle
That's really cute this way.
Brooke
It's like you don't have to take.
Danielle
You couldn't bring them in. Like, oh, I didn't get a photo with them, but got the cutouts.
Brooke
Something silly. That's like so us. But yeah, it's all coming together. Not really, actually. I'm actually at all. I said that and I'm like, no, actually, it's.
Danielle
We've started talking. We won't say, but we've started talking about your bachelorette loose.
Brooke
Everything's in loose concept phase.
Danielle
You know, I'm just trying to think about, like, that's. It's just so fun like every day. Like, if you're like bored, you could just think about your wedding and plan wedding things.
Brooke
No, it's so fun.
Danielle
Pinterest and I'm sure is your TikTok and like Instagram reels feed like very bridal right now.
Brooke
Yeah, no. And so now I'm in the Bridal Glow. Well I, I did lot of research on Bridal Glow up because I was like, look, I got, I. I've got, look, look. Got at least a year, maybe a little more than a year, maybe two years. I don't really know at this point. And I want to lock the in. Like I really, really do. I'm being so like. And not just like, oh, I want to like, like no, no. Like I'm taking, taking the precautions. I don't want it to be like crash doing anything in the three months before. Like I want to like start progressing,
Danielle
you know and then you'll just be happy overall in life because you did all these things. Things.
Brooke
So I'm starting like, you know, I'm really doing like the red light therapy like every day, 10 minutes like those stuff. The things that like I would kind of do.
Danielle
Yeah.
Brooke
I'm like, let me actually implement these as like habits.
Danielle
Cuz there's almost like a goal of like oh, I'm getting married.
Brooke
Yeah. Like 10k steps a day. I'm like, you know, I've been a little loose with it but like it. I'm like, let me hit that five or six days out of the week, you know, like trying to really be real with myself. I've been going to solid courts. Been.
Danielle
You went back to Mickey to get your nails done.
Brooke
To Mickey. She's not mad. Also she uses that polish brand perfect.
Danielle
So she felt good.
Brooke
I, I did some magic. You were good. Yeah, we're all good. You know, I was, I got some fun nails. I don't know, I guess people like start doing like trial nails for their wedding too.
Danielle
Like he's so good.
Brooke
You don't. That's what I'm saying. Like I don't need like I, I could see it on my finger and be like, that's the winner.
Danielle
You know, I guess you'll do trial hair and makeup. That'll be like later down the road. But yeah, you could like time it with a podcast recording so you have like nice hair and makeup. Not that you don't usually you.
Brooke
Yeah, yeah, you can actually look nice for once.
Danielle
I just, whenever I get my hair makeup done, I'm like, how can I justify this?
Brooke
No, it's so true. Or you could do it I guess like for like the engagement party or for the. Oh yeah, I've seen that people do.
Danielle
Yeah. So you're starting to plan an engagement party? Maybe.
Brooke
I mean once again.
Danielle
So you're waiting to have a wedding planner once.
Brooke
The wedding planner I would like to use for everything because I just want them to like be involved with legit everything and like understand to touch it
Danielle
all so it's cohesive but not redundant.
Brooke
Story of broken men like you know, I love it.
Danielle
You know how we were talking about your engagement and when people get engaged. Find My Friends all that. My friend was telling me this morning that what they did. Her friend just got engaged this past weekend and what they did was because she, the friend that was getting engaged is very on Find My Friends. Loves to look around. Whatever. Look around, look around, see where everyone is. About three months ago her whole friend group turned off their location and just being like, you know it's going to happen at some time. So you're just, you don't get to see now. So she didn't know when it was happening. I think that's like smart. But then she said, I guess for like the last three months she's been going crazy cuz she can't see wherever your friends are.
Brooke
Did he propose yet?
Danielle
Yeah, this past weekend.
Brooke
Oh, okay. So finally.
Danielle
But it worked out because their location has been off for a few months. So like she didn't know.
Brooke
Which I think that like reminds me of like the summer house conversation that they had on the reunion last night
Danielle
about how like oh, how Amanda doesn't always have.
Brooke
Yeah, like you suddenly stopped sharing your location after all those years.
Danielle
It's like, that's a big tell.
Brooke
Yeah. But then she was, because she said she was like, well I share it not just with you guys, I share it with my management and like other. I'm like, why?
Danielle
I actually.
Brooke
No, you do. Danielle. That's crazy.
Danielle
This is a very new thing. My manager the other day was texting me about something and she was like, sorry, like I didn't know if you were home or not. And like I don't know if I'm bothered. I'm like, oh no, I'm home. And she was like, I don't have your location. So I wasn't sure. And I was kind of like, does she want my location?
Brooke
So then you just shared it.
Danielle
So I was like, I mean I don't have nothing to hide. So I shared it with her and she shared it right back. So we show this is as of like literally three weeks ago. But it was so Funny.
Brooke
I, like, I guess in my mind, I think of it still, like, it's a very different relationship than a boss. Like, it's very different.
Danielle
Yeah, they're not. They're not our boss.
Brooke
No, no, no. It's very collaborative.
Danielle
It's very collaborative. No, I know, but it feels that way.
Brooke
Feels like I'm like, why would I want my boss? You know that I'm off. I'm home, but I'm off the clock.
Danielle
Yeah. Like, oh, I didn't send in my deliverables, but I'm like, at the nail salon. Yeah, yeah, no, I know. We'll see. I don't know. I don't know if she ever, like, looks, but I could tell she, like, wanted it. So, like.
Brooke
Sure. I mean, if she shared it right back.
Danielle
She shared it right back. I mean, there's nothing worse than someone, like, does it mutually.
Brooke
Oh, yeah. If you. If I go on find, like a few times that I've, like, gone on it, like after college and stuff, and you see that people, like, you know, stop sharing their location with you, like, you're getting immediately removed. Yeah.
Danielle
Okay. I see it, like, whenever it says blah, blah, can see your location.
Brooke
Yeah.
Danielle
Oh, I see how it goes. I've been on a few brand trips recently where we all shared our location and I think I did, like, share until end of day or whatever, but then those people, like, kept it. So I have some really rogue people
Brooke
in front of my friend.
Danielle
It's kind of fun to see where they are.
Brooke
Oh, wow. Yeah, it's like giving snap maps, like
Danielle
back in the day giving snap maps. Oh, my gosh. That was so big in, like, college.
Brooke
I feel like it was like, where's. Oh, what bars everybody at?
Danielle
Like, I'm really slowly use. I know you've been saying this, but slowly using Snapchat less and less. Like, for personal.
Brooke
You hit an age where I'll tell you in my old age. You do, because it's like, I'll just text you. I don't know.
Danielle
Yeah, like, I'll just text the chat. Every now and then a group snap hits. Like if you want to tell, like you don't want it to be like, screenshotted or like, I don't know.
Brooke
Or like, if you see. See something that reminds you of them that you don't necessarily need to text,
Danielle
like, you're just like, yeah, like at your own leisure, you'll open the Snapchat.
Brooke
Yeah, yeah, but I prefer. I prefer text.
Danielle
Ryan and I still have this snap streak from when we started dating. Like, for when we. The day we met.
Brooke
So how many days? A thousand.
Danielle
It's at least a thousand, but it's kind of, like, silly.
Brooke
What do you do? You literally just send each other.
Danielle
Oh, My God, it's 2,409. I haven't responded.
Brooke
You literally just send any.
Danielle
Something.
Brooke
Every.
Danielle
But, like, I know that there's days where I forget or Ryan forgets, but we both, like, pay the 99 cents, I think, to, like. Yeah. If you lose your streak.
Brooke
Oh.
Danielle
So we both, like. I wonder how much I've paid. I probably paid, like, $12. He's probably paid more. He'll forget sometimes. But every now and then I would just want to say to him, like, let's just, like, not. But then it is kind of sad because that's like, the day we met. I wouldn't give Ryan my phone number. I don't know why I gave him my Snapchat. So it's like that. It's always a counter of, like, we've known each other for 2000, 490.
Brooke
Oh, that's really cute.
Danielle
I guess so it's fun to, like, see that. I think maybe it was Bridget. She was telling me her and Mitch have the same thing.
Brooke
Wow.
Danielle
Someone recently was telling me, and I was like, okay, so we're not crazy that we're keeping this going.
Brooke
It's giving big sister, you know?
Danielle
It's giving big sister.
Brooke
Yeah, big sister. You said that on one of the episodes, and the people liked it, were commenting, so. Thank you. That was very, very sweet.
Danielle
I mean, you are my big sister. It's like, you go through the things first.
Brooke
Yeah. Don't worry. I'll just.
Danielle
Then I get the hand me downs and I. I know how to do it next.
Brooke
Yeah. I'm like, I'll find the wedding designer
Danielle
that we will both. You know, speaking of things, you did first, then I did next. What? So I went to Charleston this past weekend, and I forget. Did you maybe say it on the podcast? No, I definitely didn't say the private. Okay.
Brooke
I mean, I said that I went to a wedding in Charleston. I don't even really remember the name of the event. Like, I just remember. Yeah.
Danielle
The hotel, you mean?
Brooke
Oh, the hotel.
Danielle
Remember the hotel.
Brooke
Oh, I thought you meant the venue because we forgot that we both went to the same wedding venue.
Danielle
How crazy is that?
Brooke
Out of all the places.
Danielle
Out of all the places, we were at the same venue, too, so I didn't. I wasn't even going.
Brooke
No, I was gonna say I don't remember the name of that, like, yeah,
Danielle
no, no, no, no. But the hotel you stayed at, we. I was like, oh, how was it? Because Ryan and I are staying there too.
Brooke
The Dewberry.
Danielle
The Dewberry.
Brooke
It was a gorgeous hotel. It's really nice. I feel like it's like one of the, like, you know, good hotels in Charleston. I use Amex points.
Danielle
It was, you know, it's on amex. And you were like, hey, like, it's. It's really nice, but it's really expensive. So that's why I was asking her because, like, I was like, it's of kind.
Brooke
Kind of really expensive. How's the service?
Danielle
Yeah, how's the service? And you're. And you were just like, it was okay. Like, you didn't, like, you didn't say anything. So I kind of said to Ryan, I was like, by the way, like, I. I didn't hear, like, raving reviews. Hopefully it's like, good. We pull up. Oh, my gosh, they have hand towels. They're like, welcome. Like, what's your. Oh, Mr. And Mrs. Carolyn. They. I. I think it was just like, the timing because you said you booked their MX too. We get up to our room. They've given us an upgrade. They bring a cheese board and champagne. And Brooks texting me like, that was not the same room.
Brooke
We had the champagne and cheese board. I was like, oh, they knew who you were. Like, I figured Ryan said the same thing.
Danielle
He was like, I feel like maybe because the girl was, like, smiling at the front desk.
Brooke
Did she give you a wink?
Danielle
The twinkle? There's always a little twinkle. No, I'm kidding. Excited. But Ryan was like, maybe she, like, listens to the podcast or something. I was like, I don't know. But, like, Brooke was just here, but maybe she wasn't working.
Brooke
No, I did get the towels, but my room was. It was like four o'. Clock. My room definitely wasn't ready. Like, it was like nine.
Danielle
Oh, see, we were late. So our room. The rooms were ready. We were like five o'.
Brooke
Clock.
Danielle
So they were able to upgrade us. Maybe because everyone had already checked in, perhaps.
Brooke
It was a really busy weekend. There was, like, definitely weddings going on there and there was like a big race, so a lot of people were in town. Like, the race was like, ended across the street or something.
Danielle
Oh, yeah, yeah.
Brooke
So it's like, there was a lot of commotion going on.
Danielle
I feel like there was commotion at the Dewberry, but Brian and I just kept laughing. We were like, I'm just loving it here. Like, I seriously Would get so excited to walk in every day. They were just so nice.
Brooke
Wow.
Danielle
I mean, you. You said it was just such a nice hotel.
Brooke
It's a gorgeous hotel. I mean, it was, like. It wasn't like that. It's a nice time. Yeah.
Danielle
Yeah. I was, like, in love with it. We, like, ordered room service. What? Oh, this was crazy. We went to this coffee shop, and I was struggling to find coffee shops, and I didn't want to bother Clara. Everyone thought, like, I was there to visit Clara, but she wasn't.
Brooke
Yeah, she wasn't even there.
Danielle
Yeah, she was on Nantucket. So I just, like, didn't want to bother her because she was on a bachelorette, and I just was struggling to find coffee shops, and I found this place. I wonder if you went. It was called. That would be helpful. I don't.
Brooke
King Street.
Danielle
It was right on King Street. It wasn't Mud House. You definitely went to Mud House, because that was really close to the hotel. We went there one day, and I was like, yes. Okay. Well, anyways, we go to this other place, and they were known for, like, these fancy, cold foam, like, fun things. I've been drinking caffeine recently, and I was like, they don't look like a place that has decaf, but that's okay because, like, I just want to break it. Whatever we get in there, they're taking forever. Finally, I get my coffee, and they're like, oh, straws are over there. So I grab a straw that the lid is already on, and I cannot find a place to put the straw. There's no hole, no nothing. And so I'm just sitting there, like, Ryan. Like, I'm really nervous to go up and ask them, like, where the straw hole is. This is so amazing. So he pulls out his key, and he's like, I'll just make a hole. Danny. I'm like, no, I'm not. No.
Brooke
Oh, my God.
Danielle
So I go over there, and I asked the girl. I was like, where does the straw go? She goes, oh, we, like, ran out of the right lids. Those don't. Those don't have a hole for the straw.
Brooke
So what? So you have to remove the entire lid to drink it?
Danielle
Yeah, but. So then why'd you even freaking give it to me? Like, I'm sorry, What?
Brooke
I was like, it was just a closed lid.
Danielle
It was like a closed, like, frappuccino lid? No, it was like a raised.
Brooke
Oh, a dome. It was a dome.
Danielle
It was like, for ice cream.
Brooke
Yeah.
Danielle
But I was just like, okay, because it was weird. She told me where the straw was.
Brooke
Like, sometimes I'm like, where are.
Danielle
You're not here right now.
Brooke
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Like you. It was. I understand. There was no access point.
Danielle
There was no access point. And she put the lid on, and she, like, is watching me, like, struggle. Oh, my God.
Brooke
Maybe it was like a. Like a bet. Like, they're like, let's see how many people we could. No, I doubt it.
Danielle
And then Ryan's like, well, now I'm really gonna make a hole with my keys. I was like, no, I'll just use no lid.
Brooke
I just like, something about a dome lid with coffee. Like, I don't.
Danielle
I'm getting like a child.
Brooke
It's not right. It's not right. I will get the fun drinks, whatever. But, like, if you put a dome lid on, I'm like, oh, no, no, this isn't a milkshake. This is. This is. This is a sweet coffee, sir. I'm an adult.
Danielle
I'm an adult, actually.
Brooke
I'm an engaged woman. I can't be drinking out of a dom lid.
Danielle
No. It's very vulnerable, especially if there's no cold phone. Like, looks.
Brooke
Do you. Will you lick the gold foam.
Danielle
No.
Brooke
Off the lid? No, I definitely.
Danielle
What do you mean? Like, you take it off, then you
Brooke
get, like, the flat lids. Like, Like a Starbucks or something like that. Like, they get a little bit of, like, the foam on it, on the bottom of it. So, like, if I, you know, finish and I really want more, like, I'll take it off.
Danielle
Maybe I'll give it a try.
Brooke
No, this is the thing I've seen fair about this.
Danielle
Like, there's. There's light fare online about cute little sweet treat for later.
Brooke
Yeah. I'm like, oh, and I get my little lick.
Danielle
Yeah. One last licks, as they say, last licks of summer. It really is summer now.
Brooke
I was going to say we're in first licks of summer.
Danielle
We're in first licks of summer, and I don't want it to go away. This episode is sponsored by Better help you guys. It's summer. We're thriving. But also, at the same time, I feel like travel really picks up. You know, maybe you're done with school for a little. And it actually, in a way, summer can get really crazy, too, because you. You're traveling a lot or you're just trying to, like, make sure that you're spending it the best way you possibly can. I feel like there's pressure.
Brooke
Yeah. You're like, hey, it's summer. I want to Like, I feel like you live winter for the summer, right? Like, make sure you're like doing everything that you possibly can. But I feel like you can't forget to take care of yourself.
Danielle
That's really important, 100%. No, I was literally thinking about that this month in June. I was like, oh, I actually don't have a lot of travel until the end of the month. But okay, let me like actually have some chill days because I feel like sometimes when the sun's out, I feel like I should be outside and like soaking in the sun. No, maybe we can have a couple rot days or do it. Whatever fuels us.
Brooke
Yeah. And maybe therapy. How about we factor in therapy? Like, I feel like that should be like the base of the schedule when you have a little bit more time, like in the summer, you know, take care of yourself.
Danielle
Yeah. And therapy better help makes it so easy. You guys, like, they literally match you with a licensed therapist and if you're not even happy with them, they switch you up. No additional charge. It's really so great. I feel like it's nice too. Like you can be flexible. Like one week I have therapy on a Thursday and the next week I'm like, ah, can we do in two weeks? Because I'll be traveling. Like, it can be very flexible to you. I feel like people get really intimidated by it.
Brooke
Yeah. They have over 30, 000 therapists on BetterHelp. It's the world's largest online therapy platform and they've helped to serve over 6 million people globally. So you're in good company, truly.
Danielle

Brooke
It's the change of the seasons. You know, it's spring into summer. The sun is out. I feel like it's like a nice like 80 degrees in New York. You know, like it's like the perfect weather. It really is.
Danielle
No, it really is. Someone's actually just saying the other day how we kind of skipped like a majority of the spring and we're really into summer now in New York. Even though it's not technically summer yet. It is just lovely out regardless. Like, Brooke and I are both in our open toed shoes. Like, life is good.
Brooke
Yeah. I feel like you're picking up like a little Flowy floral dress. And like we said that we're getting into color. And this year I'll be shopping at Ross, where spring trends are everywhere.
Danielle
Yes. It's really so nice because it's kind of like a all in one place. You can get some good sandals, you can get a flowy floral dress. But then also they've got the home decor that can really bring any space, a colorful refresh. I've been trying to utilize more color in our apartment. So it's really nice. A place like Ross. They've got a little bit of everything to kind of just freshen it up. It's. It's really. It's a nice shopping experience too, because you bring your coffee. Could do a little errand day. Yeah.
Brooke
I've been seeing so many people post, like, their finds at Ross online.
Danielle
Yeah, you sent me one.
Brooke
Yes. Like, they're. They're gems that you just have to discover it because Ross has more of the brands you love at 20 to 60% off of other retailers prices. And they've got like the new vibes and the new looks without that huge price tag. We love to save money.

Brooke
Yes. I feel like the perfect pregame truly sets the tone for the night. And what better way to set the tone than with Malibu Pink. It's truly the best summer get ready with me drink. It's vibrant, it's bold, it's got fun new fruity flavors of guava, pineapple, and coconut.
Danielle
No, I already know Malibu Pink will be coming with us on all of our girls trips this summer. It's perfect for the girls like us, me, who like to take shots. But if you're not one for shots, it also pairs perfectly with a lemonade for a cute and easy cocktail moment. I feel like I would do the shot. You would do, like the cocktail?
Brooke
Yeah. I'm definitely gonna be sipping it as a mixed drink, but while I get ready. Also, it's like this gorgeous, vibrant pink color. Can we talk about it? You guys know that's my favorite color. And scream. Summer.

Brooke
I love that. And unlike other Colostrum brands, if you guys like, I feel Colostrum is like a buzzy thing, you know, people. But I love it because you could just like dump it in your smoothie. It's super easy. Are you like, I'm a summer smoothie girly. So like, you know, I'm just making this mega smoothie with all my things
Danielle
in it or put it in your coffee.
Brooke
Oh, I like that idea too. But Cowboy Colostrum is a true first day whole colostrum. It's rich in bioactives and growth factors. Everyone talking about these growth factors for skin care?
Danielle
Yeah, no, I know that's a lot to think about. And don't worry, Cowboy Colostrum only collects the surplus colostrum after the baby calves have had their fill.
Brooke

Brooke
You are so summer.
Danielle
I'm so summer. Like, I just love it. Like, people, this pisses me off. I probably said this on the podcast before, but people complain all year how cold it is in New York. As soon as it gets hot, it's so hot, New York. Gotta get out of here. I'm like, it's finally cold. Like, nice out.
Brooke
I know.
Danielle
Like, I like the heat.
Brooke
And maybe it's as I'm getting older and like, obviously the circles of people that we hang out in. And I feel extremely privileged saying this, but, like, I feel like in the winter, people are like, I'm out of here. I'm going to Miami.
Danielle
Yeah.
Brooke
And then in the summer, people like, I'm out of here. I'm going to the Hamptons. I'm like, so when are we actually in New York in the apartment that we pay for the entire year?
Danielle
I'm like, why didn't you escape? Like, summer in the city is so fun. There's so much to do here. The outdoor movies, I feel like you've done some of those. Am I just making that up?
Brooke
Outdoor?
Danielle
I have visions of you in, like, your car and an outdoor movie.
Brooke
There was like, a drive in, back in. Back in the day.
Danielle
Did you go on, like, a date with someone?
Brooke
Ben and I went, oh, it was a drive in, like, early days. But they closed. Didn't make it. I mean, drive in movie theater in New York, it's not really.
Danielle
So have you. Have you seen any movies lately?
Brooke
I saw the Michael Jackson movie.
Danielle
I want to see that movie so bad.
Brooke
Hey.
Danielle
Hey.
Brooke
I could not stop. And I was just. Were you being silly? It was so good. Let me just start by saying, like, you would be like, this is Michael himself.
Danielle
People are saying it's unbelievable. Like, changed their life.
Brooke
It was a great film. Great. Really, truly. 10 out of 10 film. Yeah. Like, really no notes. Except that it kind of ended in, like, the 80s okay, so, like, I needed. But then it said, like, part two coming. So, like, oh, there is a part two. This was Michael two. I guess, eventually Michael two. Michael two.
Danielle
And so. And the guy who played it, he's related to Michael Jackson, right?
Brooke
Is that fact?
Danielle
I. I. Yes. I'm getting nods.
Brooke
Okay.
Danielle
Yes.
Brooke
Well, he was incredibly talented, I have to say. I don't know. It was hard for me to tell what was like, were they playing the track of Michael himself singing or that.
Danielle
I don't know. Yeah, you could. What did it sound like?
Brooke
And when it's a movie like that, where it's like, what are we on? Is it a biopic? Is that kind of what it is? Yeah, biopic. Like, it's hard to tell what's real, what's fake, because now I take that as truth. Like, I take every childhood story. I'm like, I can't believe his dad said that's him. Well, it's like we have no. No account of if that actually happened or not. But it's like, you know.
Danielle
But you take it as fact. That was a documentary in your eyes.
Brooke
Yeah.
Danielle
No, I was like, yeah, I would say the same thing.
Brooke
So you. You also, like, I guess, you know, Michael Jackson's music and stuff. Like, it gives you context into, like, him as a person. And he really was like, what? I. You know how they say, like, musicians are artists? And of course they are. Like, yes, they're creating art. Like, I do think that. But he is truly, like, an artist. Like, I think about some of these verses and, like, ways that he did music, and I'm just like, how the fuck do you think of that? Like, he is like, the lines like, mama. Say mama Sam. Like, I'm like, how did you hear that beat? And pair that.
Danielle
Oh, and make it with. You know what I'm saying?
Brooke
Like, I'm just like, how did you think of that? I don't. Yeah, it's like, that is art to me.
Danielle
That is art. It's this. It's like they have different minds. Like, they have such a creative minds
Brooke
and to pair it with music and to do it so beautifully. And he has such an incredible voice. Like, it was. I was. It made me, like.
Danielle
And the dance have a whole new
Brooke
appreciation, and it is just like pop music. So fun.
Danielle
Have you been listening to Michael Jackson now?
Brooke
A little bit. Of course.
Danielle
Wow.
Brooke
Yeah.
Danielle
It's like, we're so bad.
Brooke
Like, of course. The Thriller album, Like, that's like, you know.
Danielle
Okay. It's like the Thriller album. Yeah. Because that's like, it looked good. Did you see Devil Wears Prada, too?
Brooke
No. Did you?
Danielle
Me either. Oh, I'm literally wearing a Devil Wears Prada X Walmart skirt. But I. So I should have.
Brooke
Wait, have you seen any movies?
Danielle
No. I'm. I'm dying. And there's a third movie lingering around that I'd like to see. I can't remember, but I want to see mj and I want to see Devil.
Brooke
I'm just shortening Devil. I saw the Super Mario Galaxy movie as well.
Danielle
Oh, yeah, that's on my list, too.
Brooke
Sorry. It was a cute movie. I didn't cry. And this one. Usually I cry in children's films. There's always, like, a heartfelt message, you know?
Danielle
Of course.
Brooke
Be a good person.
Danielle
I. This is just on the note of childhood. I saw this tik tok. It literally made me so emotional. This girl was like, a lifeguard, and there were all these girls in the pool playing mermaid. And one of the girls goes, wait, pause. And, like, doesn't that just bring you back? Like, wait, pause. Now pretend that my tail is actually green. And, like, one day we just said pause in a game and never did again.
Brooke
Oh, my God.
Danielle
Like, the innocence, like, summer also always, like, brings out the nostalgia, too. Like, I get that, like, the smell in the air, like, right after it rains. Like, it just reminds me of summer eating, like, a sandwich after being in the.
Brooke
I. I know what you mean. Like, simplicity of things. More so, like, just being like, oh, I'm Sandy and whatever, but, like, it doesn't matter. Like, I'm not, you know, oh, I don't look my best. Like, I feel like now it's like, we care not to be. Like, I care so much about my appearance. God, look at me. Sometimes on this podcast. But, yeah, people are like, really? I have evidence to prove.
Danielle
Like, honestly, after last week's episode, I'm sorry for my hair. Like, oh, my God, please, please.
Brooke
No, no, no, please. But I. You know what I mean? Like, the simplicity of, like, actually genuinely just, like, living in the moment and not being, like.
Danielle
Like, rah. Just do whatever.
Brooke
Yeah. I feel like now, even when I'm, like, having fun, like, I'll be at a party or something, I always have a piece of me that's like, you gotta go home and go to bed or you're gonna be tired tomorrow. Like, I just adult. I'm like, why am I being like this? Like, I'm. I might as well enjoy my night.
Danielle
Like, I'll be having, like, the best night ever. Like, actively Having fun. I'm like, oh, I actually also can't wait to be in my bed. And, like, I can't wait for tomorrow. And it's like, why can't you just, like, be in the moment?
Brooke
Yeah. Or I start thinking about everything that I have to do. Or like, yeah, I didn't do and that. Yeah.
Danielle
And then you just lose all fun. And you're just like, I'm gonna go to the bathroom really quick. And now I'm just.
Brooke
Yeah.
Danielle
Out of it. Speaking of Sandy going back, I won't get so specific, but yesterday, Brooks, like, firing off, like, bachelorette location idea.
Brooke
Oh.
Danielle
One of the places was like, a beach town. And I go, brooke, you hate.
Brooke
You're so right. But, like, it's such a vibe, though.
Danielle
No, I love it.
Brooke
I ride a bike and, like, you know, you go get ice cream. Yeah.
Danielle
You know, like, would you do, like, you know how they do those, like, picnics on the beach?
Brooke
Yeah.
Danielle
Would you do that?
Brooke
I don't love, like, water than sand because then I feel like it really sticks to you. But if you just have sand, like, general.
Danielle
So no water. Hold the water. But sand is good.
Brooke
Yeah.
Danielle
I just was dying.
Brooke
You're so right, Brooks. Like a beach town.
Danielle
Get a cooler. Bring it out.
Brooke
The thing is, I don't really, like, I want there to be, like, one big going out night on my bachelorette. I don't need it to be that we're, like, drinking all day every day. In fact, I prefer not because that's just not my truth.
Danielle
You know, I. Drinking. No, please, let's not.
Brooke
No.
Danielle
It's your wi. It's your. It's your bachelor.
Brooke
I want it to be that other people. People can. But it's not like, oh, you have.
Danielle
It's not like you have to day drink.
Brooke
Yeah. Like, wake up.
Danielle
Yeah.
Brooke
You're getting a claw down your throat. Like, no, literally, I can't. If the bachelorette is like that. I'm so sorry. Like, I'm just. I'm 29. Like, I can't do it. I can't.
Danielle
No. Well, that's the pro. I feel like a lot of your friends have gotten married. It actually.
Brooke
No, it's like, I actually said this. I was like, I feel like I'm smack in the middle. Pretty much of every friend group.
Danielle
Smack in the middle.
Brooke
Yeah.
Danielle
I was gonna say maybe, like, I have a friend that's getting married, and she was like, some of my friends, like, my parents be pregnant, so it's like. Yeah, it slows down a little in that way.
Brooke
Yeah, that's totally fine. And so I don't need it to be the type of location where it's like bus club, another club, like, you know, like oh my God, there's so many bars we could go to. Like as long as there's like you
Danielle
like the beach bars is what you were saying?
Brooke
Because they're like laid back.
Danielle
It's not so laid back and fun. So you don't want a club?
Brooke
I could get behind a club.
Danielle
I feel like you love club, like club music.
Brooke
I do, I do. But then I feel like that's like next level. Like that's. But I could get behind like remember
Danielle
you went on that Arizona bachelorette and you just had so much fun at that club.
Brooke
Oh, it's so fun. Yeah, Scottsdale was fun.
Danielle
Would you do Scotts or no? You said you don't want to do
Brooke
a place that like everyone does. But I mean some so different, like
Danielle
well no, you want your own experience and you've been on a bachelorette there.
Brooke
So like yeah, yeah. New narrative. I. We have some working concepts.
Danielle
I could literally talk about your wedding forever. Like wow, really? I'm like, let's just, just talk about yours.
Brooke
I know you were like, who would you invite?
Danielle
I'm like, I. Yeah, I'm like, so who's on the list?
Brooke
Second, Like I just need to, I need to get my numbers in order first.
Danielle
Well, people could get knocked off. There's still a lot of time.
Brooke
That's the thing. I was.
Danielle
People. Are there any people like on watch
Brooke
for the badge or for the wedding?
Danielle
Both, I guess.
Brooke
There's some that I'm just like, I don't know what to do like about this but.
Danielle
Cuz then if they get invited then you feel like you have to invite those people. Stuff like that.
Brooke
Yeah, it's. And I just, I don't know where I'm gonna draw the line, I guess. You know, because like I have. Not that I have so many friends, but there's people that like, oh, it would be nice if they can come to my wedding. But if I'm gonna like, if I need to knock 25 people off the list, like unfortunately, like you're probably gonna be like one of the 25 that's knocked off. I, I'm. Hey, I'm probably on the bottom of their list too. You do a B list, you know, if you get the invite late, like you're on the B list and that's okay. Like, and that's.
Danielle
No, it's so I've. I'VE gotten last minute invites and that's okay too, you know.
Brooke
Yeah.
Danielle
You can't be so offended. Like the people that you expect to be invited to their weddings usually are.
Brooke
Yeah, no.
Danielle
And then others are nice surprises.
Brooke
One of the planners told me to expect a 20% drop off rate. Like invite really a bunch of people and then like 20% will just be like, I just can't make it like generally.
Danielle
Wow.
Brooke
I. I felt that I was high.
Danielle
That feels high.
Brooke
20%.
Danielle
I don't think that would be the case for your wedding. I don't.
Brooke
I know I don't have like this massive family. Like, it's not like.
Danielle
Right.
Brooke
So you. You know what I'm talking. Like I have cousins and.
Danielle
Yeah, yeah, no, I'm the same way. They're. Honestly, there'd be more friends than family.
Brooke
I think it will probably be come out to like being probably similar numbers. But Ben really doesn't either. We both have like, you know, cousins and like, yeah, family like that. But it's not like, yeah, great Uncle
Danielle
Sally's gotta go and his eight kids, like, they gotta. Yeah, no, it's not like that.
Brooke
No, no. I mean we used to do like family. I remember like growing up. Like one time we like went to New Jersey and like saw my like Italian extended family and I was like, who the are these people? And they would like come up to me. They're like, brooke, the last time I saw you, you were this big.
Danielle
You know, it's always that turn to my parents.
Brooke
I was like, literally, who is that?
Danielle
Like, who is that?
Brooke
It was so random. There's kids running around. I'm like, am I supposed to know these people?
Danielle
Yeah, I'm supposed to hug them and like, are they.
Brooke
It was. That was a long time ago. And now it's not even giving like your family reunions. Like, you know, you guys know each other.
Danielle
Oh yeah.
Brooke
This was like legit. Might as well have been strangers.
Danielle
No, I went to one of those in Orlando. It was like my dad's side of the family that moved down from New York and it was the same thing. Like, I remember when you were born and I'm like, I literally don't remember you at all. And I hope that's okay.
Brooke
Like, what's your name again?
Danielle
Like, you probably don't remember me. Like. No, Susie. I was two.
Brooke
Yeah, I definitely, I wasn't conscious.
Danielle
I basically wasn't conscious. I definitely don't know who you are actually.
Brooke
It's so true. And I'm here for family and bringing family. Together. I think that it's nice. I feel like that's like a big Italian thing. It's like no, you gotta like meet like you know, your fourth cousins and your whatevers and. Yeah. Have you ever done like an ancestry.com
Danielle
to our single gal pals out there? What if we told you there was a way to date without all of the guessing games, the back and forth and wasting time with the connection? That's just not it.
Brooke
A dating app we're getting straight to the point is literally in the name. We want to introduce you to the highly dating app.
Danielle
The name highly means hey, I like you. It's an app all about finding real genuine connections.
Brooke
The highly dating app removes the guessing games with its unique features like the X and clicks that uses science backed questions to vibe check your matches. Like you got to do the vibe check before you decide you want to like them. There's also a major crush feature so you get to make the first move before you match. Like it just isn't dating app that makes sense.
Danielle
Think of it as a way to test out a connection without being kind of like overly intrusive. They can read your message, they can check out our profile and then decide to accept or decline the chat. The highly dating app gives you a much, much, much, much higher chance of not only finding a match but finding one that's real with a fresh new curated set of profiles each day. Like that's awesome.

And it's like so exhausting to have to keep buying furniture for all these new places in case that you're not going to stay there forever.
Brooke
It's literally a furniture problem. Like yes. Or you like furnish all place then you have to get rid of it. Like no. No, no. Buying furniture is expensive. The delivery is taking forever. And assembling it is like a whole nother nightmare. And truly buying furniture sounds simple until it's not. Like if, especially if, you know, like, I'm only here for a year, like, it's hard to justify.
Danielle
Yeah. And I feel like it's truly moving season right now. Like people are getting new jobs or moving to new, new cities. And it's really annoying too, when you buy like that fast furniture, sometimes it falls off apart after one move. It's not sustainable, it's not durable. Like it's not even going to work if you're trying to bring it around to different cities.
Brooke
But I feel like your home is so important. Like you want it to feel like a safe space, something that you love. And that's why Court Furniture Rental gets it. Because they're helping people furnish homes, apartments, temporary spaces without the stress, the waste, or that big upfront cost.

It's really, really so good. You want to be hydrated. But it's like, it's so boring. Like, I need a little something something.
Brooke
A little something. Have you tried the peach raspberry? Because that one like it? I feel like it rewired my Brain. Honestly.
Danielle
No, it's. It's so good. It's very subtle, but also refreshing. Like, your body's like. Yes. This is what hydration is supposed to feel like.
Brooke
And the dangerous part. No, I'm just kidding. It's actually not dangerous because it has no sugar, no sweeteners and no calories. So it's literally just water infused with fruit essence. That's it. So. So somehow it tastes like a treat while technically being completely responsible. It's literally water.
Danielle
It's literally water. I've brought my hint water to workouts. I like it. It's like the perfect size. Fits in my purse. It fits in all my purses, which is very important. So, yeah, we. We love it. It's hint has no sugar, no sweeteners and no calories. Just water with fruit essences.
Brooke
It's literally water that makes you crave water.
Danielle
Love that. So try hint. Now available online at Drink Hint and in stores nationwide. Hint water. No. Have you.
Brooke
Yeah. And I'll like, randomly get emails sometimes because, like, my.
Danielle
Oh, like, DNA is in there.
Brooke
It's like third cousin alert on mother's side. Like, and it will. It, like, it's like filling in my tree kind of.
Danielle
So.
Brooke
Because.
Danielle
Because they did it too, basically, is what happens.
Brooke
I remember when I first signed up, I got like a rogue message that it was like, hi, Brooke. Like, I. Like, I. I know your grandmother Elaine and I know your mom, like, whatever. And like we put it together. I was like, wow. Like, that was like a long lost family member. Truly.
Danielle
Wow. That is. That is wild.
Brooke
It's kind of crazy.
Danielle
Sorry not to like, change the topic. I was checking my notes because I was like, I feel like I had something else to tell you. I had a couple notes from my Vegas trip that I went on with Freddie.
Brooke
Oh, please.
Danielle
That I wanted to share. So I took my brother. This was like right before. Right after your engage, we were recording your engagement. Yeah, I was like, whatever. I took my brother to Vegas for the Academy of Country Music Awards. It was so much fun. So special to like, bring him whatever. Anyways, I thought this was just so funny and like, so something we talk about on Gals on the Go. So there's a lazy river at this hotel. Yeah, Love a lazy river. Was so excited. There's so much. There's like. There are like lazy river people.
Brooke
Oh, I didn't know this, you know, Cult following. Really? Yeah.
Danielle
Cult following. We're like. So we're in the elevator of our hotel, the MJM grand, that has the lazy River. And some people. I said to Freddie, I was like, freddie, people are bringing their own floats. Like, they had floats at the pool and.
Brooke
What do you mean?
Danielle
They, like, inflatable in the elevator and they have their own tubes. Like, they're inflatable. Inflatable tube. Yeah. And so Freddie and I said, like, oh, my God. Wow. You guys brought your own? And they're like, well, yeah, they're $30 to rent at the pool or to buy one. So we just go to Walgreens down the road and, like, buy one for $5.
Brooke
And they buy a pump and pump it up themselves or they blow.
Danielle
Oh, my God. So Freddie and I weighed the pros and cons, and we were like, we're just gonna buy them. But then we would go. We went. Freddie went to the area to buy the tubes, and there was a guy trying to sell my brother the one he had just bought for, like, a cheaper price but still so expensive. And Freddie's like, I'm just gonna go buy a new one. Like, you were just laying all over that and, like, you're selling it to me for baseball. Basically the same price, and people are trying to heckle you for your tubes. It was crazy. So then we're, like, so excited. We got our tubes. We're ready to Lazy River. Lazy River's closed. There's been a delay, a delay on the opening. And Freddie and I are like, oh, my God. We just want to float.
Brooke
What are the. Like, there's set hours. Like, it's like a nine to five.
Danielle
Oh, yeah. And the pool was. Didn't open. The Lazy river didn't open till 10am and we were, like, on east coast time. So we were right away to go. So Vegas people are just.
Brooke
Just, like, asleep.
Danielle
Nothing was open, but there was a delay because it's in the desert. So there was dust that had flown in. So they were having to clean out the Lazy River. But so then we go over. It's like a fence, and these two women are standing there. One has a llama tube, so definitely brought her own.
Brooke
Wow.
Danielle
And the other, I forget what it was. And they, you know, sunscreen all over their face. The tube ready to go. And they were like, nope, it is delayed right now. But don't you worry. This happens all the time. It will. Will be open soon in front.
Brooke
Like, how many times have you guys done this Lazy River?
Danielle
I didn't say that.
Brooke
They're regulars.
Danielle
They were regulars. And they. They had, like, a whole setup. They had their YETI that they put in, like, I have awakened now to the Lazy river cult. I mean, it was long route. It was really long. So much so I had to, like, grab my phone at one point. I was getting a little bored.
Brooke
Yeah.
Danielle
But it was nice.
Brooke
Is there, like, waterfalls and stuff?
Danielle
Yeah, there's waterfalls. And it was. It was fun. But, like, I. I think we went around like, six times and then we were done.
Brooke
I didn't, like. I feel like I've done Lazy Rivers. Like, not.
Danielle
Not like this.
Brooke
No, no, no, no, people.
Danielle
I. I guarantee you stay at the MGM grand for this Lazy River.
Brooke
Is it kid friendly?
Danielle
Yeah, there were kids. There's, like, adult pool as well. But the Lazy river is kid friendly. I think now, they said, I didn't see any kids, but there were.
Brooke
I feel like the kids don't exist in Vegas. It's like, fake. Like.
Danielle
Yeah. When I do see kids, I'm like, huh? Why? Yeah, but I guess there's, like, the fountains and there's, like, things to do. There's, like big arcades.
Brooke
I just feel like they see things that they shouldn't see.
Danielle
Yeah. No.
Brooke
And they are, like, inhaling the smoke. And the casinos, like, you know, it's just not.
Danielle
Oh, my God. Yeah. What else?
Brooke
But you had a good time in Vegas. It seemed like it was a really good trip for you and your brother.
Danielle
It was so good because, like, we've just been through so much and, like, Freddy's the one who, like, lives with my dad, so it's just so nice to take him away for the weekend. And we just had so many laughs. He met. He had never met Margo Ashri because she had also got invited to this award show. So, like, they were bonding and we just had a grand old time. It was really fun. I have developed a really big pet peeve with travel. Like, I. It was already a pet peeve, but, like, it's really starting to piss me off.
Brooke
What. What is the pet peeve?
Danielle
When we are boarding to get on the plane.
Brooke
Yeah.
Danielle
You know, they have their zones.
Brooke
Of course, when people stand up and
Danielle
it's not their zone, when people are like, the line starts right in front of me. When people stand right in front of the entry area.
Brooke
Yep.
Danielle
It literally makes me so mad because if you have a Carry on suitcase, you have to be like, excuse me. Excuse me. So I can never tell, like, oh, are they waiting because they're about to board or are they zone five? Like, I'm sorry. I'm sorry. We've got the good Delta status, so I'm usually first or second to board, and I literally have to go through them. This one woman was literally standing in the line, and I was like, oh, are you in line? She's like, oh, no, I'm 75. I was like, get the out of the way.
Brooke
Yeah. I've gotten into the habit of asking them what's on there? And I feel comfortable, like, oh, yeah. I'm like, what zone? What zone are you?
Danielle
Like, yeah. And then when they say, literally, I'm sorry, three, four, five. Like, you have to stand back because then I'm literally worried I'm gonna, like, roll my suitcase over your toe. And, like, it's just. Why.
Brooke
Why are we.
Danielle
I'm sorry. If you have a further zone, like, you got to stand back.
Brooke
I. I think it's so funny, like, the airport stuff. Cuz it's like, it feels like it's always someone's first day tra. Like, it's not. Obviously it's not these people's first day traveling. Or maybe it is, but, like, it feels like it is their first day on Earth, honestly.
Danielle
Yes. And I know we have a lot of experience with it, so I'm aware that, like, we just. I. I feel like we have our travel routine down path.
Brooke
Yeah. And I. To be fair, not that you have to stand so close and crowded, but I've gotten used to this because I travel with someone who doesn't check a bag.
Danielle
Right.
Brooke
That you want to check your. You want to put your bag in the overhead.
Danielle
Definitely.
Brooke
So you want to board first in your zone.
Danielle
Yeah. In your.
Brooke
In your. In your design. You can be around.
Danielle
But these people are like. I literally was like, excuse me. Like, I didn't even care because I needed them to know.
Brooke
Yeah. They were incorrect and, like, being rude and, like, it's so rude.
Danielle
I'm sorry. Like, I'm. Oh, my God. And then also baggage claim, when they're standing, I'm like, I can't get my bag because you're standing in front of me. You even don't even see your bag yet.
Brooke
And you're like, grab the pink one while you're at it.
Danielle
Oh, my God. Speaking of this, there's, you know, there's Touchless ID now and TSA PreCheck. Clear all these different lines. And we're at the Charleston Airport, and there was a touchless line. And so there's a few people in front of us and a few people in front of us there. He was like, no, like, you don't have touchless. Like, just go to pre check and then the next person was like, you don't have touchless. Go to pre check. Finally, the guy goes, if you do not know what touchless is, you do not have it. And me and Ryan were just cracking up.
Brooke
Does Ryan have touch us now? Didn't he? Not for a while.
Danielle
Yeah, he didn't for a second and now he does. I don't know how it appeared, but it's like, if you do not know what it is, you do not have it. Like, get to the right line.
Brooke
That is so funny. I watch people go to the wrong line all the time. To be fair, there's legitimately 20 lines now.
Danielle
Yeah, it's like, pick one.
Brooke
It used to be two. It used to be regular and pre check. Now there's pre check with clear, pre check without clear, clear, no pre check.
Danielle
Touchless sky priority.
Brooke
Yes. Literally. Because you could just buy your way through, essentially, right? Like, you could just get prior. Like, if you book a first class ticket, like, you can just.
Danielle
You're so right. There's so many different ones.
Brooke
So many different ones. And in the Atlanta Airport, you never know what you're like. It's like a risk. You're gambling. Yeah, I do the touch touchless one, Ben just goes in regular clear two minutes. And I'm in a 20 minute line, you know?
Danielle
Yeah, it's really like, no, literally, I'll sometimes say which one one's fastest today. Like, oh, really? Because there's so many options now. Just like LaGuardia. It's the best. They've got all those different poles of, like, so efficient.
Brooke
Yeah.
Danielle
LaGuardia is just amazing.
Brooke
And when you go through that touch
Danielle
this line, like, I feel amazing.
Brooke
Oh, I feel so cool. Literally, it brings you so far past the front and, like, it even swings in front of some other people. I'm like, yeah, I belong in this life. They let me through.
Danielle
My favorite thing is not having to pull out your id. Like, I love, love that.
Brooke
But sometimes I do that and I get online and then they're like, you actually do need your id. And then I'm like, fumbling for it and they're like, have your IDs out. And I'm like, but I'm in the touchless line.
Juan Naula
No, I know.
Brooke
It's. To be fair, the TSA rules change every day. Take out your laptops. Laptops can stay in your bag. Like, if you have two laptops, one
Danielle
needs to come out. No, I know. And they also now have this new thing. If you go off in the buzzer, then you have to take Your shoes off. Yeah. At least that's happened to me many times. So now because of my cardier bangles, because they can't take them off. You're. Or you don't have the Cape Cod one anymore. But so then I say, can I go in the scanner one? Because I don't want it to go off at all. I don't want to take off my shoes. I'm really lazy. Like, travel man.
Brooke
Travel man. Yeah. Once it. I unders. Like, I'm sure people listening, like, travel for work and stuff. And when you have your routine and like, there's just people who are travel novices. Look, it's everybody's first day once, though. Like, I get it.
Danielle
Totally. No, I know.
Brooke
And not everybody knows the hacks and the, you know, the whatever. So I try to be. I know I. I try to be empathetic. But then again, like, yeah, also there's, like, we've lost all touch of, like, general just, like, kindness, I feel, like, and stuff where, like, an old woman will be, like, standing up and, like, I'm like, can. Can a gentleman offer her. Her a seat? Like, you know, stuff.
Danielle
Or the trams.
Brooke
Yes. Just anywhere or like, close to the gate. I don't know.
Danielle
I'm just like, I completely agree. Or I'll see, like, an older person, like, taking things out of their bag and stuff for security. And then people, like, cut in front of them like, oh, my God. I'm like, okay, come on. She's just taking her. I'm like, poor woman.
Brooke
They're moving as fast as they can.
Danielle
Yeah. Literally moving as fast as they can.
Brooke
Yeah. Oh, my gosh. Moving as fast as they can.
Danielle
Do you have anything to tell me?
Brooke
Close us out with.
Danielle
Close us out.
Brooke
I'm like, what else? Oh, off campus we can close with that.
Danielle
Oh, yes.
Brooke
Everyone's addicted. And I am, too. I did not read the book. Shockingly. That's like, off brand.
Danielle
Like, yeah, that is off brand for you. I didn't. Obviously, off campus, off brand. It's good. I like the characters. I'm vibing with it. I only watched one episode, so.
Brooke
Is it the best acting I've ever seen? Absolutely not. But it's about the story and it's about the, like, you know, you kind of fall in love with the, like, the, you know, the romances of it. Right now I'm a little like. I'm at the last episode. It's a little like, on and off, and I'm just kind of like, you know what? It's on and off. For no reason. You're just like, figure it the out.
Danielle
Oh, the relationship. It's like, come on, just date already.
Brooke
Yeah.
Danielle
Like, kiss.
Brooke
Get back together.
Danielle
Yeah, Come on now.
Brooke
Whatever. But I love. What I love about the show is that all, pretty much all the actors were, like, undiscovered. Like, this is, like, their breakout role for all of them. And I love to see it. Like, I love to see these people in their 20s just, like, create a name for themselves. The main girl's, like, 19.
Danielle
No.
Brooke
Yeah. She's stunning, too. I can't stop looking at her face. It's actually like, I look at her face.
Danielle
Beautiful face. She had blue eyes. We're making that up.
Brooke
Yeah.
Danielle
I think she has really pretty eyes. That's all I can recall.
Brooke
Beautiful. She just has, like, a perfect face.
Danielle
Like, I feel like the hockey player and the singer kind of look alike in the first episode.
Juan Naula
I don't know.
Danielle
Maybe the singer's out. The singer she's, like, in love with. Oh. Like, they have similar vibes in the sense of, like, the brown hair. Maybe not.
Brooke
Yeah, I guess.
Danielle
Rugged. I don't know.
Brooke
Yeah, I guess.
Danielle
But once you get to know the characters better, you probably won't feel that way.
Brooke
It's just so interesting because it's like, in my mind, I was like, oh, this, like, little, cutesy, teeny show. Like, you know, because it's basically like High School Musical story. It's like an athlete and, like, a
Danielle
theater girl kind of, like, works concessions, right?
Brooke
Yeah. But she's also, like, a music major. So, like, I was like. It's kind of giving that, you know,
Danielle
like, we're different worlds or the piano. Right. Yeah.
Brooke
But then there's, like, sex scenes where they're naked, and I'm like, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
Danielle
This is not hsm.
Brooke
Yeah. Like, I thought that this was, like, for, like. It is definitely an adult show.
Danielle
I can't wait.
Brooke
I'm very excited. I know. So I think. I think that you're gonna like that.
Danielle
Did you watch? Everyone's talking about Margo's got money troubles as well. I haven't watched.
Brooke
I did read that book, so. Yeah.
Danielle
And I'm like, you'll watch it, like,
Brooke
halfway through this series, you see, like, these are shows I don't watch with Ben. So, like, it's, you know, and. Yeah.
Danielle
Find the time.
Brooke
Or I feel rude being like, hey, I'm gonna pop into the other.
Danielle
Oh, I do that.
Brooke
No, no, I definitely do, too. But it gets to a point where it's like, okay, you've legit. Been in there all day, like, you know.
Danielle
Yeah, true.
Brooke
One thing about me is I will take stream.
Danielle
Yeah. You're like, so now I have to need to finish the whole season.
Brooke
Yeah, of course.
Danielle
Content plate.
Brooke
It's been nice to just, like, have some chill days though and like, be.
Danielle
Yeah.
Brooke
You know, do some. You have some chill time coming up.
Danielle
I'm really looking forward to some chill time in New York City. Like, I'm literally here for a hot minute, which is really exciting.
Brooke
Hot minute, one week, literally.
Danielle
Okay. I literally got invited to go to Miami tomorrow and I was like, I shouldn't go. Which I'm proud of myself.
Brooke
Yeah. That's amazing. Wow. That would be so stressful getting the looks together.
Danielle
Yeah. I was like, I don't have the outfits, frankly. So there's my decision.
Brooke
I feel like you have closet full of things that you could string together, but you know, that. That gives me.
Danielle
Yeah. And I'd like plans here that I was excited about. And I feel like my. I feel like that would be strike three with my friends of like. Okay, we really haven't seen you now. Yeah. Yeah.
Brooke
You just have too many friends. Too many friends.
Danielle
Too many friends. Well, I had a blast talking to you.
Brooke
Me too. Thanks for. Thanks for hanging, everybody.
Danielle
Love you guys so much. And we'll see you next week.
Brooke
Bye.
Danielle

Episode: The Wild West of Wedding Planning
Date: June 3, 2026
Hosts: Brooke Miccio & Danielle Carolan (Dear Media)
This episode offers an honest, hilarious, and sometimes chaotic look at the early stages of wedding planning through the eyes of newly-engaged Brooke. The conversation spills over into girl talk on everything from the type-A urge to plan, etiquette for wedding guests, Instagram story anxiety, and navigating FOMO. Expect plenty of personal anecdotes—about wedding “wild west” moments, childhood nostalgia, lazy river life hacks, and modern adulthood pet peeves.
Adjusting to “fiancée” life: Brooke describes how surreal it still feels, mixing up “boyfriend” and “fiancée” in conversation.
Wedding planner vs. wedding designer: Brooke explains the difference, sharing her learning curve and how companies distinguish between logistics (planner) and aesthetic (designer).
Family involvement: Brooke brings her “momager” to calls, and her mom is “activated,” wanting every part of the celebration to feel like a story but “cohesive but not redundant.”
Priorities:
The reality of “vision” boards: Brooke is not a “Pinterest wedding” person, and is letting her aesthetic evolve instead of over-planning.
Brooke shares a thoughtful approach—no crash “three month befores”—but making habits now:
Discussion on trial beauty runs (nails, hair, makeup) for engagement parties and the wedding.
Brooke’s planner will oversee everything—she’s aiming for one cohesive (but not redundant!) series of events.
Early-stage talks on bachelorette locations—leaning towards a fun, laid-back place rather than a “party every day” spot.
Guest lists and etiquette: grappling with how to draw the line and acknowledging the B-list reality.
Find My Friends schemes to preserve engagement surprises; issues with over-sharing or cutting people off from seeing your location.
Danielle and Ryan’s 2,409-day Snapchat streak—nostalgia, modern relationship markers, and how group snaps now hit differently.
“Big sister” dynamic: Danielle looks to Brooke for life navigation tips as a “test run” for her own future phases.
Shared Charleston experiences: Both stayed at Dewberry Hotel, recounting service inconsistencies and what gets you an upgrade.
Coffee shop misadventures: Mystery of the strawless dome lid—millennial struggle with cold foam and iced coffee presentation.
Vegas “Lazy River” culture: Tub rental hacks, cult following, and the travel personalities that come out in group pool experiences.
Travel pet peeves: People crowding boarding areas, line-cutters, and TSA confusion in the age of a million expedited security lines.
A plea for travel empathy—recognizing both travel “novices” and lost common courtesy, especially with older passengers.
The nostalgia of "pause" in childhood games, the lost innocence, and unique joy of simple summer moments.
Summer in the city: why NYC in the summer shouldn't be missed, resisting FOMO about escaping to Miami or the Hamptons.
The tension between being fully present and “adult” responsibilities, overthinking, “rot days” vs. seizing the summer.
([31:32]–[34:01], [55:32]–[57:57])
Movie reviews: Michael Jackson biopic (“truly 10/10”), how art and music lift biopics, and the questionable truth of artist portrayals.
TV Recap: The Off Campus series—a “bad acting but feel-good” romance that’s all about undiscovered actors and new obsessions.
