There's some incredible TV coming out of the UK right now. Brits just do it differently. The accents, the wit, the scenery, the devastating one liners disguised as compliments. It's all streaming on BritBox. They have the best mysteries, dramas, comedies, and seriously addicting originals like Outrageous, based on the true story of the Mitford sisters. They were kind of like the Kardashians of the 1930s. Wealthy, audacious, chaotic, wildly opinionated, and always making headlines. And chances are you've never heard their story. It's stunning. It's jaw dropping, it's very British. So check out Outrageous. It could be your next favorite. Don't miss Outrageous. Streaming now only on BritBox.

Danielle
Hey, guys, what's up? Welcome back to Gals on the Go podcast.
Brooke
It's Brooke and Danielle, and today we're going to be talking about things that we find incredibly chic.
Danielle
So chic. I had to look up the definition of chic to really make sure that I was thinking the right thing. Because everyone says chic. Like, they're like, oh, you look so chic. Oh, that's so chic. But then I was like, what is chic?
Brooke
Were you, like, getting nervous that your list was not chic?
Danielle
It's. It means, like, stylish.
Brooke
Yeah.
Danielle
It's interesting because I feel like it's a lot of, like, it's become more like, personality traits and, like, true actions and things which, like. Yeah, like, I guess those things can be stylish as well.
Brooke
That's very chic of you to do. It's definitely like a certain genesis quoi.
Danielle
Is that for sure? For sure. No, it has. And then I was, like, picturing, like, a Persona of someone that, like, I find she can. We'll get there.
Brooke
Well, I can't wait. Yeah, we. So we both came up with lists. I'm so excited to hear yours. I'm excited to share mine. And so, yeah, you guys can look forward to that. But of course, we have to catch up and mustard and just hit the chat. You just got back from the Hampton. Wow.
Danielle
I did. I spent, like, a extended period of time there. Yeah. Yeah.
Brooke
Because that was very chic of you.
Danielle
I know. It really was just a little getaway. No, Well, I guess I never said that. Like, Ben just took, like, a really big test and he's in medical school and he. I feel like people know that, but, like, he people. It's probably confusing because I feel like the schedule really fluctuates. Like sometimes like he has a week off and like he's able to do whatever and like come to events and do whatever. And then it's like I feel like six months of like he's locked in. He can't do anything. You know what I mean? So when he's available, I try to take as much of the.
Brooke
You're like you're coming with me.
Danielle
We do. So we went to the Hamptons. His parents were out of town and they have a place there. So that was nice. You know, boyfriend has a house on in.
Brooke
Like. I'm sorry, that's goals. That's.
Danielle
That is. It is very chic. Yeah, no, it's definitely. It's great. But it was like a 50 degree rainy weekend and.
Brooke
But I don't know how to explain this. But like that's so your vibe. I feel like I know you love sun.
Danielle
Yeah, but I do. I know what you mean.
Brooke
Your Hamptons activities that you prefer are better for that weather. Like you don't want to be by the pool in the sun.
Danielle
No, you're right. You're right.
Brooke
Like you do.
Danielle
But like I could have used one day of like a little breakthrough. Cuz there was days where it was like, are the windows even open? Like, you know, like it's just. I mean, rainy here too, I guess. But you had a productive weekend and. But it was just like so nice to like be together and be stress free, you know? I felt like I was taking this test. Like. No, we were taking on together and just everything. Everything's good. I'm trying to think what else we love.
Brooke
It's like when you bought the condo, I was like, we're buying this condo.
Danielle
That was like when I was. I was stressed. You're like, we're stressed?
Brooke
Yeah. Like we have to cut down.
Danielle
Like we have to cut back. The travel plans change. But I am actually getting a big construction project on my apartment today. Yeah. So I've got the men working.
Brooke
I'm so excited for this.
Danielle
It's been literally. I moved in a year ago, so it's been a year in the making. Not that I knew exactly what I wanted to do. And like these. It's like a home renovation. Like it's expensive, it takes a lot of time and like thought so I feel like I was really patient with it. And I mean it's not done yet, so I'm like, it looks beautiful, but like, I hope that it does in the. What I'm Seeing it looks just like the 3D model that I received.
Brooke
So cool. I got to see it. I think it's gonna be really sick. Will it be done, like, today? Like, are they there?
Danielle
It should be done today or early tomorrow. Yeah.
Brooke
Oh, my God. I total.
Danielle
I will. I'm excited.
Brooke
That's like Christmas morning.
Danielle
No, it really is. It really like, it. That's my favorite thing. Like, I'm forgetting that, like, I just hear the loud noises and everything of them doing the things, and I'm like, wait, in a day, it's gonna look amazing in here.
Brooke
Oh, it's so exciting.
Danielle
So exciting. That's what happens when you get old. I, like, literally had to go to a, quote, hardware store. Like, not a hardware store where, like, our guys would, like, go, like, pick up. Yeah, yeah. No, like a hardware store. Like, kitchen and bath.
Brooke
Like, candles and knobs. Oh, my gosh. Grown up.
Danielle
It was real. They were like. They were like, just swing by, like, pick out some things, put them on hold. Like, the. The contractor was like, well, go and pick them up. No, I was like, I have a contractor. Like, holy.
Brooke
Like, that's so cool.
Danielle
I know. I felt really serious, but then there. And I was like, what the am I doing? Like, I felt like an idiot. Not actually, because I, like, did consult some people in my life. I was like, you know, I have some family members and things.
Brooke
What's up?
Danielle
She does know what's up. And then I have an a who's like an interior decorator. I use chat GPT to help, honestly, a little bit, too.
Brooke
What could it help?
Danielle
Yes, I just was like. I mean, I guess I could say, oh, oh, oh. I was like, oh, no, I can say because it's going to be up. I'm like. I was like, I have navy cabinets going in, like, my office. Like, what color hardware would go good with it? And, like, they mocked up designs. Then I even said the specific color of paint that I used. They created mockups of, like, what the pairings would look like. I know. It's really good for home design, actually.
Brooke
Oh, wow.
Danielle
I know. I have been, like, using it for, like, sneaky little things. It was like, oh, I got this object. Like, should I put it here or here? And, like, it tells you.
Brooke
Did you give it a photo or what? How do you. Or you just explained.
Danielle
Like, I. I actually had. It helped me with, like, my shelves that I have. I was like, how would you rearrange these objects? I mean, it was like, a very minor rearrangement. So I gave the picture and then it was like, do you want a picture back of like how we suggest you rearrange it? I didn't ask for the picture back. So I was like, I, I see what you told.
Brooke
Yeah, yeah, I'm good. I see what you're saying.
Danielle
Yeah. But I've heard that they're good with stuff like that. Anyways, I'm going on a tangent about home design and the hardware store. Panic at the hardware store. I was like, what's happening here? It's, it's, it's literally just walls of like handles and stuff. And then it got me thinking about how everything, like in every house I've ever lived in was meticulously picked out.
Brooke
Free single thing.
Danielle
Or maybe not. But there's no standard because like, you know, there's different finishes, there's the. The chrome finish versus the. Why is everything wrong?
Brooke
Why is everything wrong? So, okay, so since the video will already be up now, what is it that you're putting in your second bedroom?
Danielle
So I'm doing like a, A large, like, I'm calling it a cabinet building, basically. Cuz I like what it is.
Brooke
Cabinet, yes.
Danielle
On basically the entirety of one wall. Like where I had, I had a bookshelf, I had a like folding in thing where I like kept my linens, which I still like might be able to keep in this thing because it's just enormous. It takes up the. And. And built into it as a desk. I'm not saying advertising this well, but it's basically navy dark. I decided like dark hardware. So it's like very dark. The rest of the room is a little bit light more. It's definitely like a colorful room. So yeah, like, I feel like it's bad.
Brooke
Navy's perfect. That's like a color but still a neutral at the same time. It's a genius idea.
Danielle
And I've been. I see you're wearing. Is this navy or black? I can never tell the difference.
Brooke
I literally.
Danielle
You can't tell either.
Brooke
I can't e. I had a whole thing this morning when I was. I got this bag and I was like, is this actually navy? And I was comparing it. Yeah, we would have to put it up to something. I've always thought it was navy, but it's looking black right now.
Danielle
I can't tell either. And honestly, in the more I'm looking at the pattern, it's like kind of messing with my eyes.
Brooke
I know I'm wearing like a gingham dress if you're listening audio only. But I've always thought it was Navy, but I'm kind of thinking it's black now. Like, I don't even know.
Danielle
Well, I was just about to say that I've been into navy lately, and it's great. Yeah.
Brooke
Good color.
Danielle
I feel like it's a chic. It's very rich.
Brooke
Navy is very chic. I would say it is.
Danielle
And it's kind of timeless.
Brooke
It is. It's timeless. It goes with, like, denim and other things, and I thought of denim.
Danielle
Yeah. I, like. Guess I taught Ben a rule, like, forever ago. Like, you know how you, like, subcon. Like, you say things like, you'll be like, never. Like. Like, no getting ready. Like, don't. Oh, like, you should wear this and this together. Or, like, you know, I like it when you wear your white sneakers. Just, like, little things. Then they wear the white sneakers because they know you like them. Whatever. I guess early in our relationship, I told him, like, black and navy should not go together because.
Brooke
Oh, he.
Danielle
But it was more so, like, not jeans. Like, he was wearing, like, Navy. Like, it was just.
Brooke
It wasn't working. I agree with that.
Danielle
That's kind of specific.
Brooke
Yeah.
Danielle
But now it's a universal rule. And, like, he's like, but I can't wear the black and the Navy. I'm like, no, it can be broken at times. Like, it's not good. Not a horrible rule. Do you ever give Ryan clothing rules?
Brooke
Oh, yeah. But then I just, like. I feel like we talk about this, like, I don't know men's fashion.
Danielle
I know.
Brooke
I just know what I like. Like, I bought him some sunglasses from Amazon and one of the pairs, he was. I don't think I'll really wear this much. And I was like, oh, like, I don't know. And I'm like, what if these aren't even cool? Like, you know?
Danielle
Yeah, I know. They're not. They're not cheap.
Brooke
I don't know.
Danielle
I love to run up an Amazon order before a trip, though. Like, because I'm like, if you want to be part of this team, like, you're gonna, like, matching my vibe. So I literally spend, like, a hundred, 150, whatever. Get a few outfits for them. Yeah.
Brooke
The linen shirt and Old Navy.
Danielle
One of our. I need to go there.
Brooke
Oh, my God. That's Ryan's favorite. Every six months, I'll be like, can we go to Old Navy? He just.
Danielle
He loves the Navy order.
Brooke
Navy is the of this episode. Not actually Navy. Navy is chic, though.
Danielle
That's so funny. He, like, asks you to go to Old Navy?
Brooke
Oh, yeah. It used to be made well, but then, like, they haven't as good of, like, a sales section lately. And Old Navy just has amazing prices. Like, he can get. He just loves that he can get so many things for under $200.
Danielle
Yeah, I get that. I get that.
Brooke
You should. I think Ben would love it. I feel like there's Navy near you.
Danielle
No, there's one right back. I, like, go in from time to time, like, but I mostly look for me because I'm, you know, like, when I go shopping, usually I job for myself. It's a nice day. When I'm like, oh, Usually the panic before a trip or something where I'm.
Brooke
Like, and what are you gonna stunt.
Danielle
And what are you gonna wear? He's like, I don't know. I've been studying for three months. I'm like, okay, let me pull it together.
Brooke
Yeah, you know, what are you gonna wear? These are all of my outfits with my matching necklaces and shoes.
Danielle
I'm like, I've been thinking about this for weeks. Like, literally. Is that how you are right now? Like, no, it's the same.
Brooke
It was the same thing. It was like, two weeks ago. And I was like, so I already have all my outfits, weirdly, for our trip.
Danielle
Yeah. And was he like, I have some ideas, or. No, he was like, okay, thank you for remind.
Brooke
Was like, no, I've been saying, I want to go to Old Navy. Oh, okay. We didn't have time to go in.
Danielle
Person, so we really need to get that brand. I mean, I know we work with them.
Brooke
We work with you.
Danielle
Yeah. But you need to get that. You need. You need, like, a shopping with Ryan at Old Navy.
Brooke
I know, I know. He. He's been really having fun with his outfits lately, so getting into it. I know. Having fun. Like, I was like, what is the fun? Like, you know, I don't know. He's just been into more of, like, you think about this with that. I'm like, oh, okay.
Danielle
Okay.
Brooke
I'm like, who said something to you about this? Who's cooked here?
Danielle
Like, I feel like it's whatever is happening, their groups, you know, be like, one friend, like, has. Is like a. You know, talks about style. It's like, it kind of does. I will say with. I find with men's style, like, it's like one guy starts shopping at Old Navy. They all shop at Old Navy now. Like, you know, it's like, diffusing of information because they realize they're like, oh, I didn't realize that. You know, they sell good stuff.
Brooke
Yeah. So kind of like the Ab Crom is a good one for men's too. Like, I still really want to do an episode all about men's fashion, but we need someone on to teach us.
Danielle
Yeah.
Brooke
Because we don't know.
Danielle
No, I don't know either. I see, like, I feel like I'm scrolling and I, like, see a picture and I'm like, mental note.
Brooke
Yeah. Like, screenshots.
Danielle
Looks good. Yeah.
Brooke
Now if it formula. You know, I was thinking this might be crazy, but I'm considering doing it. When I do move, taking a photo of every single thing in my closet, and there's some app that you're like, yeah.
Danielle
Holy.
Brooke
Someone suggested that to me today, and I was like, oh, my gosh. I think it's called wearing or something. I don't know. But it's like, as I'm unpacking, if I take a. I don't know.
Danielle
I mean, it's giving clueless. Like.
Brooke
Yes. Like share closet.
Danielle
Yeah. There's definitely, like, a software that has that. But would you actually use it?
Brooke
It would just be if I could keep up with it. But, like, imagine like, trying to pick out outfits for a trip, because even today we have a trip upcoming later this month. And I was like, what do I have in my closet right now? Like, so I'm digging through, which is obviously easy, but I don't know.
Danielle
No, some pieces, especially at the turn of seasons, they get lost in translation. I just did, like, a little swap too, of like, some sweaters would bring out some whatever. And I was. Oh, my God. I. Hello. Forgot about these gorgeous dresses that I wore two years ago. Probably took a year off, you know.
Brooke
Exactly.
Danielle
Safe to come back into rotation. Yeah. Oh, that's. That's great. Wow.
Brooke
Yeah.
Danielle
So besides the Navy, what's up with you? And you've been. Any more bombs to drop on the.
Brooke
A slight. A slight one.
Danielle
Oh, I'm ready. Okay.
Brooke
Found an apartment.
Danielle
Well, here we go, people. Wow. People are worried.
Brooke
I know.
Danielle
They were really worried for you.
Brooke
I know. It was very kind. People, like, really were so sweet. I am so excited. You've obviously seen the unit pumped, like, couldn't be more excited. And it feel. It felt like as soon as soon as I walked in, I knew it was the spa, which is like that feeling I was really wanting.
Danielle
I know it's been waiting for.
Brooke
I've been waiting for. For so long, and like, maybe I could have waited a little longer, but this unit is perfect for so many reasons, and I. I'm Gonna be annoying. And, like, I want to be able to wait until I can do an empty and apartment tour because I toured it with people's stuff in it. So I, like, feel uncomfortable.
Danielle
Like, yeah, no, it's.
Brooke
So we're going to have to wait till I get the keys. But it's amazing. It's a fun new neighborhood for me. A neighborhood I've never lived in. Yeah.
Danielle
Road unlocked.
Brooke
New neighborhood unlocked. Really excited about it. But there's like, a funny story that Brooke was asking me before we started the podcast. She was like, so, like, as soon as you saw. Did you go sign the lease? And do you want to hear something?
Danielle
So you signed the lease before you saw it?
Brooke
Signal.
Danielle
I know it. I had a feeling when you started laughing. You're like, I got to tell you something. I was like, okay.
Brooke
And there was no way I was telling you that I was going to do that because I knew you're going to think I was insane. No, but.
Danielle
But, you know, everything worked out so well.
Brooke
Okay. I would honestly, I would have never done it if I. I had it in writing. Quadruple confirmed that basically what was happening was there was someone else who also wanted this unit. Very much so. But they were like, I have to see it. And like, obviously I have to see it too. But I was told. And like, I guess it's okay. I'm saying this. They were like, if you sign it, you do not have to pay yet. Like, you know, but you. This reserves you it. And then you just have like 24 hours after you come and see it.
Danielle
To like, hey, got it.
Brooke
And so, like, yes, it was scary to sign a lease. But, like, I. I mean, I probably confirmed five times. I was like, so confirming. I do not to give any money if I go, but it's secured. And thank God I did it. Because then I guess super last minute, right before I toured the apartment, the agent told me that the other person was like, screw it, I'll just sign the lease. Like, I don't need to see it. So thank God I did that.
Danielle
Can you imagine if I would. Oh, my gosh. Heartbroken. Because for the apartment.
Brooke
Because also for what we do for a living. I've had this issue in the past, and I was worried about having this issue too, if I was going against someone is we don't have, like, a consistent income where it's the same amount every month. Like, sure, we make really great money, but it's not consistent.
Danielle
Yeah.
Brooke
And so I was like, a little worried that they'd be like, it takes a little bit.
Danielle
The process is a little longer.
Brooke
It's a little long.
Danielle
Verify through more sort like yeah, you.
Brooke
Have to show like your investment. Like there's you know it's yes.
Danielle
Versus is like a. I feel like a person with a steady paycheck. It's like okay. Like it's more simple documents.
Brooke

Brooke
Like, honestly, I was worried if they were looking at, like, my application and whoever this other person was, they might go with the other person, because remember that apartment? YouTube? Yeah. I applied for it, and I didn't get it, and it ended up going to this, like, successful older couple. So, you know, I really just had to advocate for myself here, and I am beyond myself, so.
Danielle
Oh, my God. And wait. And you've, like, you knew the building, so. I guess I knew the building, so it wasn't like a blind buy.
Brooke
Oh, yes. I've toured the building before at a different unit, but it was like, that was the apartment that was out of my price range, and Brooke thought I was crazy, so it was, and I was crazy.
Danielle
Honestly, it wasn't the right fit.
Brooke
This unit's better that one.
Danielle
Like, you would have had to make concessions. You're like, it's okay. I'll just change this plan and sell some furniture. Like, exactly. You know, like, every. Like, the stars aligned.
Brooke
No, this one's like, a beautiful corner unit. A lot of bathrooms, randomly, like, great.
Danielle
How many? It's a lot. You don't want to. Like, is there, like, 10?
Brooke
How many baths? No, it's two and a half baths.
Danielle
Oh, yeah.
Brooke
Exactly what you have. I'm really excited to. Oh, my God. I just. I can't believe it. So.
Danielle
Oh, my God. Congratulations, you.
Brooke
Thank you so much.
Danielle
Thank you, city. So, yeah.
Brooke
Oh, my God. People were like, are you leaving? No.
Danielle
I didn't even think that you were trying to pitch it that way, by the way. Like, I know. Like, I feel like it wasn't like.
Brooke
No, it was like, oh, where will I go?
Danielle
Yeah.
Brooke
Not I was like, where will I go? But like, where will I go? And York City.
Danielle
That's what I thought too. I never thought that it was like, you know, nashville, here we come, baby.
Brooke
No, imagine, like, I love that, you guys. I think because I always do, like the freshman sophomore, you know, me and Ryan. Yeah, that's like senior year. Like, no, I'm doing a fifth year. Like, so more updates to come on that. More things to talk about that. But really excited and wanted to, like, tell you guys and.
Danielle
Oh, the updates.
Brooke
Yeah. But I did literally finally, sight unseen, which is crazy. I've never done that before, but it was worth it. So I got really.
Danielle
Wow. You're really just getting in positions of where people are putting pressure on you. I feel like. I mean, understandably. So I sent you an article that. An article? Yeah, me and I mean, article. I saw an Instagram post that was.
Brooke
An article, but it was an article.
Danielle
About how there's like, no two bedrooms right now.
Brooke
Like, like the New York magazine, New York mag. I literally reposted on my close friends. I was like, see, guys?
Danielle
Like, there's no beds right now.
Brooke
Two beds are like the hot commodity in New York City right now. So that's why these. It's been hard out there. With that being said, though, gonna have to put my stuff in storage for a little bit, which sucks because I couldn't. I couldn't get it to align. But stay tuned for that too. I'm gonna have some fun little journeys, side quests. Lots of side quests to come.
Danielle
Are you gonna. I mean, you might need to take pictures of all of your items for that time. Like, how are you gonna, like, look? Because you're not a live out of a suitcase type gal.
Brooke
No, it's gonna be quite interesting, actually. I was thinking about that. The good thing is I'll be like, like, going home. We have the Hamptons, so it'll be a lot of, like, dresses and stuff. But, like, the thought of taking everything out that I'll need for a little bit is scary.
Danielle
I. I get that, but I got that you're conquering so many fears, though.
Brooke
Like, it's all my Virgos nightmare.
Danielle
Yeah.
Brooke
A Virgo's nightmare.
Danielle
Oh, your triple Virgo's nightmare.
Brooke
Honestly, triple Virgo's true nightmare. But should we do our favorite of the week?
Danielle
Yeah. Shall we?
Brooke
Yes, we shall.
Danielle
So I binged a whole TV show this week in the Hamptons when it was raining.
Brooke
Oh, my gosh. Do tell.
Danielle
And I, like, it was one of those that I was like, next episode, like, you know, like the one. It's like, okay, maybe we take a Break. And I was like, no, next episode. Like you. No, we have paradise on Hulu. I talked about this because I said I wanted to watch it. A lot of people are talking about it. Eat. Oh, my gosh. The main guy is Sterling K. Brown, who you might not. Did you watch this Is Us?
Brooke
No.
Danielle
Yeah.
Brooke
But is it that guy? I know the guy.
Danielle
Yes. He's literally the most amazing actor. Like, I just. I just adore him. And he always plays, like, a very similar type of role, like a loving father. Like, you just root for him and, like, it's the same in the show, but it's. I don't want to say sci fi. It's more like Thriller, but it is like, the world ends and like, oh, we have to go live in, like, a city underground, basically.
Brooke
Whoa.
Danielle
But, like, in the beginning, few episodes, it's not like. It's more just like, they live in a city. And, like, you do know that it's because of this.
Brooke
Yeah.
Danielle
But as the season goes on, that's more of, like, a plot point versus at first, it's not.
Brooke
You can't tell, like, do you see the sky?
Danielle
They, like. Yeah. There's, like, subtle things that it's like, oh, they're paying for everything with, like. I mean, I guess people pay with their Apple Watch now. But, like.
Brooke
Yeah. So it's futuristic.
Danielle
Yeah, it's like. What is that word when it's like, like a future society, but it's like, everything's perfect.
Brooke
What is the dystopian?
Danielle
No, I think dystopian is, like, bad. And then there's like, a word for when it's good. Does that make sense? Like, there's like a utopia maybe? No.
Brooke
Utopia, maybe.
Danielle
Yes. Yes. That's what it is.
Brooke
Yeah.
Danielle
They built, like, this, like, perfect city for, like, when everything, like, goes to. In, like, like, our life.
Brooke
Oh.
Danielle
Like, it's obviously fake. It's fiction, but they go down. Like, I'm not explaining it well, but I love, like, that sci fi but not like aliens and monsters. It's like, it's plausible.
Brooke
Like, it's, like, anxious watching it.
Danielle
There's some. The later episodes in the season, like, it's the fan and you're like, oh, my God. Oh, my God. Like, you need, you know, guns in action and stuff like that. So I think it would be a good show for maybe you and Ryan to watch. The other.
Brooke
I think my list. I have a fat. There's, like, some good TV out right now.
Danielle
Yeah.
Brooke
Yeah. Did you watch Sirens?
Danielle
That's next on my List.
Brooke
You're gonna.
Danielle
Mickey had it on while I was getting my nails done and I'm pretty sure it was like the end of the season, so I kind of already know what happens.
Brooke
That is the thing. She does do that. Our nail lady will always play like the hot show. And sometimes I'm like, can you turn that off? Because it's gonna spoil it.
Danielle
I know, of course.
Brooke
But it's also fun.
Danielle
I could have just like plugged in my headphones and been like, oh, I'm not listening. No. But that's so locked in.
Brooke
Damn.
Danielle
Yeah. So you watch Sirens? The whole thing? How many?
Brooke
The whole thing? Not many of five. But I like tried to savor it because I could have watched it in a day, but I was like, I just, I want to wait till tomorrow to watch it. Oh my God. You're. Spread it out. You're gonna watch it regardless. It's very perfect couple vibes.
Danielle
Yeah, I'll watch, I'll watch. These shows are like dense shows too. Like hour long episodes each, like, you know, like they. They really put it all out there. They're giving us content.
Brooke
I will say there is so much out there right now. Wow. I just put that on my.
Danielle
You'll like it. It's only eight episodes and it's only one season so far. Like, it's very. And it's like a good time to get it, you know, like when you get in on a season one and.
Brooke
You'Re like, yeah, like, yeah, I'm here. I everybody.
Danielle
I'm part of something.
Brooke
Yeah, it's whatever.
Danielle
Yeah. And it's Thriller. But not too like. Because sometimes you watch them and it keeps you up. But I also like, obviously then had to go and look up like the theories and stuff.
Brooke
Of course. That's the best. What I did for Sirens.
Danielle
Oh, you did?
Brooke
Yeah. It's like it feels like graded discussions. Like after you read a book and you like go on tick tock and you're like, what is everyone saying about the end? Yeah, that's what you mean, right?
Danielle
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Like give your paragraph on like what you think is gonna happen.
Brooke
Yeah, like reading the comments. It's like, oh, I didn't think about it like that.
Danielle
Yeah. Theory. Like. Yeah, I think that could actually be related to this type of thing. Is Sirens like futuristic or like. No, it's just like creepy.
Brooke
No, it's. It's literally like the perfect couple. Except it's not like who done it? Murder vibes. I mean like, kinda. It's not like, like rich People on. It's like a Nantucket.
Danielle
Got it.
Brooke
Cult. Things are involved. Like, they say the word cult in it and.
Danielle
But it's so. It's cult vibes. Not like. Because I was confused at the. They were all like. The clip that I saw. The clips, the, like, episode that I saw, they were all talking about how amazing, like, the main woman is. And I was like, is she mag? Like, I couldn't tell if, like, that's.
Brooke
Kind of the vibe. Yeah, the vibe. Like all hell Kiki.
Danielle
So it's more cold versus, like.
Brooke
Yes.
Danielle
I would say witches and spells. No.
Brooke
Yeah, yeah, that. None of that.
Danielle
Okay, so interesting. I think the marketing behind the show could be a little enhanced then because I feel like it was.
Brooke
It was not clear. And someone in Katie Blotti actually was like, you'd really like it. It's like the perfect couple. Nantucket vibes. I was like, oh, that was not what I got.
Danielle
I completely agree. Find the marketing. Yeah, yeah.
Brooke
But then when you start watching it, you're like, oh, I'm in like an Ellen Hildebrand vibe book. But like a little more drama. I don't know.
Danielle
I did see a tik tok about the costumes of it. Like, it was like unpacking the costume design.
Brooke
Oh, wow.
Danielle
It's like some. That's so chic, like, to think critically about the costume design of a show.
Brooke
Like, for real. Definitely. And all the Lily Pitzer. And it was.
Danielle
Yes. It was like the transformation I saw of that one girl.
Brooke
Yep, yep. And just like how throughout this.
Danielle
Now I need to watch.
Brooke
Yeah.
Danielle
I already know what happens. I hate that. Like, I saw one big scene. I'm like, Like, I know that. What happens?
Brooke
I have to ask you in the end.
Danielle
Yeah.
Brooke
Spoil it. I'm curious. What am I loving? Oh, my gosh. Salty Face. Have you tried any of their products? Have you heard?
Danielle
Yes, I've heard.
Brooke
I've heard really good things about this brand, Salty Face. They do like self tanning and I got the Salty Face tanning mist or tanning water, I think. But they send it with a. There's like a droplet. But then you can also get like the little mister to put in it. And a brush. It's like a kabuki brush. Because I. I always ask you this. I always. I've asked people on the Internet, I'm like, how do you self tan your face? But then you don't get the line. I try everything. I try to do the little flick, you know, no matter what, there's just a line. So oh my God. It's changed everything. This tanning water is incredible because I feel like even if I'm in the sun, my face, because I'll wear a hat or whatever, doesn't get tan. Want it to all blend. I spray it on my face at night. I take the kabuki brush. The Kabuki brush is like basically why I love it. So I guess you could do it with your other products too. But you spray and then I literally blend to my shoulders to my chest. But it is light enough where it doesn't look like splotchy.
Danielle
Yeah.
Brooke
Oh my God. Thank you salty face for creating this product.
Danielle
Where do they sell it? Because I think that was my thing. Like I was like looking for it in like Sephora and I don't think.
Brooke
No, I think about the website but hate a manufacturer.
Danielle
Can we talk about that? I know and I know that it works. I know that that's the mod. Honestly, if I would ever come up with a product, I probably would do that to start because it makes sense economically. But it is so fucking annoying.
Brooke
I mean she can't do all your other purchases.
Danielle
No. And you have to pay for shipping most of the time.
Brooke
I know, but road is now.
Danielle
I was say that.
Brooke
Congrats.
Danielle
Is it officially there?
Brooke
No, but like you know it will be there.
Danielle
We've been waiting for you.
Brooke
I've been waiting for you all summer. You can't wait.
Danielle
And I seriously have like there's a few road products. I'm like, I would pick it up like, like I'm not going to do a whole order just to like, you know.
Brooke
No, I'm just, just not.
Danielle
But, but it gets you because then you just add more to your cart and stuff.
Brooke
Yeah. So maybe it's better cuz then you just go and buy the one product you need rather than like adding to all these minis to your cart on Sephora. Yeah, more you know, the more you know.
Danielle
Oh, that's great. I actually have heard of that brand though, so I really want to try. I'm the S the face self tan recently. Like I can't get it to match my body and I, I, it's so hard.
Brooke
I want to hear your opinion on this.
Danielle
Okay.
Brooke
I do. So they'll send it to you. They send it to me.
Danielle
Oh, show it up. Love a gift.
Brooke
Showed up.
Danielle
Love a gift.
Brooke
I, I accepted though.
Danielle
I was like, I, I accept your offer.
Brooke
Yeah, I don't accept a lot these days because they send like there's a lot out there. I'm really grateful. But it's just becomes a lot. So. Yeah. Yes, I want that.
Danielle
Yeah. And the mailers, I was like, they are just so. Some of them, like, I feel like it's, it's. It's gotten outrageous.
Brooke
Yeah.
Danielle
For one, we can. No, we could talk about it. Like it's.
Brooke
PR mailers for influencers are so kind, but so outrageous and just waste.
Danielle
Some of them are wasteful. Like it's. It will be a singular shampoo in no joke, five boxes, colorful packaging that is non recyclable material. Like it'll be like a stiff, like plasticky. Whatever. I'm like, I get it, I get it. It has papaya in it. Like, I see the ingredients.
Brooke
They send like papayas with it, which I'll actually. It's cute touch when there's fresh fruit. We got. I'm sure you got it. To the beyond Yoga with the apples. Oh my God, those are the best apples I've ever had. Like, sometimes it hits.
Danielle
I actually was saying recently I was like, fruit love that. Like, I think flowers love that. But it's like a lot of the like confetti cumbersome. Oh my God.
Brooke
The confetti brands have to. We sound so ungrateful. But like, it's just. We don't want it to be so wasteful.
Danielle
It's. It's just not a worthy spend of.
Brooke
Send it in a little envelope soap, like in those soft packaging or like a little box.
Danielle
I've seen some like marketing takes that are like, if you have a good enough product, you don't have to do all this elaborate whatever and it's like kind of facts. Honestly, if the product really works and does what it says that it's supposed.
Brooke
To do, like you're just gonna show it in your everyday videos. Like I, Yeah, I feel like I don't take as many photos of PR packages anymore unless it's like, oh my God, you guys, you have to see this. It's more of like outrageous. Us using it in our everyday life for like been using this. Love it.
Danielle
Totally.
Brooke
So totally.
Danielle
No, it's not ungrateful. It's more so just like, you know, advice, like.
Brooke
Yeah, advice to the marketing girlies.
Danielle
No, I know. And I do try to be better about it because it's like about the recycling and whatever. But there's like, what do you do? What do you do on a piece of hard, colorful plastic?
Brooke
I know. It's where it's the foam stuff that's holding like the cleanser and.
Danielle
Yeah, I know.
Brooke
Yeah.
Danielle
I See your cleanser. And I raise you.
Brooke
And I raise you. Okay. Things we find incredibly chic. I'm so excited to hear your list, Brooke.
Danielle
Me too. Well, I guess I can kick it off because I've talked about things I find incredibly chic. The type of people who are like, I read an article, but people who actually read the article.
Brooke
Yeah. Like Reddit.
Danielle
They didn't see a tick tock. They didn't see an Instagram pros. Like, people were like, well read and they. Serious reference, you know, pieces of literature. I'm like, you, you're brilliant. Brilliant.
Brooke
You read that. You're subscribed to that website.
Danielle
And also I'll say subscribing to like a newspaper.
Brooke
Yes.
Danielle
Like that is. Or a magazine even. Like, that's so cool.
Brooke
Yeah, that is incredibly chic when they like, know what's up. Like, oh, like let me send you that. Like, oh my gosh. Actually, Ryan's so chic. The other day he was in the shower and he was listening to an article. He. I guess it was the Wall Street Journal. You can listen articles. I didn't know that. And it was so funny though. It was about the Hamptons and like how much girls spend to go to Hamptons.
Danielle
Oh, yeah.
Brooke
She spent this much on laser hair removal. I'm like, Ryan, what are you.
Danielle
Oh, you had. You bust open the door like, what is this? But it's.
Brooke
I think it's so cool when people are like, you know, we need, we need to do more of that.
Danielle
I agree. And I. One time my therapist was like, I'm gonna send you an article about this. I was like, oh, my God, you think I read articles? Yeah, I love that.
Brooke
You that.
Danielle
Yeah, no, I. I grazed, Grazed a. Give a little scroll through.
Brooke
Scrolly scroll.
Danielle
Yeah, yeah.
Brooke
Oh, also I did want to shout out. Not, not that. I mean, I don't know if she was the first person to do it, but this Tick tocker. Ellie Freeman.
Danielle
Yes.
Brooke
She kind of like brought it back. I feel like in the last few months she made a couple viral tiktoks about things that she finds incredibly chic. And I feel like that's what.
Danielle
And she wears fabulous pajamas.
Brooke
She wears fabulous pajamas and I love her content, honestly. Okay. My first thing that I think is incredibly chic is having a signature scent in your home. I feel like anytime someone says to you like, this smells like you or this smells like your home or suit, like, I think that is so chic and just like having a specific scent that people like, know and think of you.
Danielle
That's real.
Brooke
I think that's real. There's not much else to say.
Danielle
I feel like you have that. I mean I. I feel like. Yeah. Well, I feel like you have a few. Maybe.
Brooke
Yeah. Depends. But I think my home has a specific. That's what my friends tell me. I don't know.
Danielle
Whenever I smell something, I always think of you. Like that's like in the rotation of like home items.

And I literally bought this. Hope this is not creepy. Is the Prada Paradox perfume? Because that you said that's like your travel perfume.
Danielle
Yeah.
Brooke
So when we would travel together. So anytime I spray that, I think of live shows and you.
Danielle
That's so fun. It is like my live show perfume.
Brooke
Yeah, it's your live show perfume.
Danielle
Yeah. Yeah.
Brooke
And I think that's.
Danielle
I guess that's what I have the scent attached to. Cuz like I don't even have it on my. In my travel case. Like, you know, it's not in my.
Brooke
Smells so good.
Danielle
I need to whip that out though. Okay. Things I find incredibly chic red wine drinkers. Let me preface, I'm not a red wine drinker. I probably will never be. Like, I just honestly, I tasted and I'm like, I don't see how people could like this. That's why I think it's so cool.
Brooke
It's so chic to like have your red wine with your food. Like, guys, you want to get a bottle of cab. Like that's so chic.
Danielle
Like a wine pairing moment. O yeah.
Brooke
Like you know your stuff and you.
Danielle
Totally agree when like they do the taste it to make sure that the bottle is not bad and you're like, oh, it's good. Like, and you know how to swirl. Like people who are educated on wine is really cool. But like a red wine drinker, I.
Brooke
Really, I do think admires you.
Danielle
Yeah. No, on Margo's birthday party, actually Colby was drinking a glass of red wine. I was like, is that red wine? She's like, yeah. I was like, that's really cool. And she thought that was joking. And I was like, I'm really not even joking. Like, I think that's really fucking cool. Like.
Brooke
No, it really is so hecking. Hecking cool.
Danielle
Hacking co. Cool. Chic. Yeah.
Brooke
Like, it's amazing.
Danielle
Especially when they wear like. Like a delicate elf and they're drinking the red wine because, like, they can handle it. I'm like, you're cool. Yeah.
Brooke
Like an all white outfit. Drinking red wine. Like, you're bold. But, like, you know, red wine is. I actually really love it.
Danielle
Oh, you do?
Brooke
Yes. But it's very specific because sometimes it makes me feel anxious. So it's very specific. Like, I can't. Like, people that are so chic just, like, have it all the time. I feel like they get home from.
Danielle
A day of work and they can't.
Brooke
Wait to pour up a bottle of red wine. Like, I have to be eaten. Mood for it.
Danielle
Yeah, I got that.
Brooke
Very specific. Oh, I feel like you'll agree with this. Casually throwing on a trench coat. That's so chic. Like, oh, I just need, like, a light jacket. Let me just throw on my. My vintage Burberry, like, little trench or something that you found at a vintage store, whatever it may be. Or. Mine's from Abrombie's.
Danielle
American Eagle.
Brooke
Yeah, yeah. American Draco. Yeah. You know, us girls. But I think it's really Chicago, and it makes any outfit look so lovely.
Danielle
Sophisticated.
Brooke
Sophisticated. Yeah.
Danielle
Yes. It's like, what's hiding behind the trench. Exactly.
Brooke
Yeah, yeah.
Danielle
It's. It's a good transitional piece. Okay. People. I just find people who can walk in heels with ease. So chic, like, it's.
Brooke
I wrote.
Danielle
You wrote the same thing.
Brooke
Yes. Because it's like, how the heck are you doing?
Danielle
Just people that have, like, can just. They wear a heel and it's. You would never know that they're wearing a heel because they.
Brooke
They just walk, like, normal and they, like, don't complain. No, like, if I'm wearing heels, I'm complaining.
Danielle
I'm more heels.
Brooke
Everybody, like, yeah, like, it's your problem now.
Danielle
Yeah. No, I'm like, you're Carrie Bradshaw. Like, you.
Brooke
Yes.
Danielle
Walked. And, you know, like, their go to.
Brooke
Is like a little, like. And not even, like a platform heel. It's like the little stiletto and it's just like. That's, like, what they wear.
Danielle
I think that is incredibly chic. Yeah.
Brooke
That is so chic. I love that one.
Danielle
It is. Especially in New York City, like, you know, there's terrain. There's what?
Brooke
There is terrain.
Danielle
Like, dude, you know, your. Your heel might get stuck in something. But they're confident and they're like so good at doing it that they just.
Brooke
Yeah, I really like that.
Danielle
Thanks.
Brooke
I like that.
Danielle
Yeah. Well, you put it down too.
Brooke
Yeah, it's a good one. Fancy soap, slash. A bar of soap in, like, your bathroom, I think is lovely. I feel like you also love fancy soap. It's just. Just trash. It's very nice. It. I feel like it's always like a conversation starter when if you have someone over and they leave your bathroom, they're like, oh, my gosh, your soap smells so good. It's just a nice thing. And it honestly, it gets you excited to wash your hands and especially when the scent lingers. Oh, I love that. Like an ASOP or Byredo or Mrs. Meyers. Honestly, really good smelling soaps.
Danielle
What you can do is just get one bottle of night soap and replace it with the. Mrs. Meer.
Brooke
Yeah, that's what one of our friends told us to do, actually. Maybe you don't know that, but I don't know.
Danielle
I'm on the. It's not very chic, but the simple human. I have them in every bathroom, in every sink.
Brooke
Perfect.
Danielle
They are great. But, like, those are sleek. Can't identify, like, I have a really nice perfume, like, scent in one of them. But, like, you don't think about it because it's just.
Brooke
Yeah, yeah.
Danielle
You know, it doesn't come to the forefront of your mind maybe.
Brooke
But people are so excited about the sensor and I think if it's D soap, they will smell it. I'll make sure to comment on it next time I'm over.
Danielle
Thanks.
Brooke
Of course.
Danielle
Thanks.
Brooke
Oh, wait, you're next.
Danielle
Jk, I know that you will agree with me on this because I know that we both struggle in the handwriting department.
Brooke
Oh, this is a good one.
Danielle
People who have, like, gorgeous handwriting or even just like a signature. Like, I mean, if you have like a sick signature, like when people bust out, like, you know, sign this and it's like a. Sign this check and it's like, okay, okay, Celebrity. So, like, autograph.
Brooke
Okay.
Danielle
I think that's very chic. Or I love, like, when people have their signature but it's not their full name. Like they do an abbreviation for their name or something.
Brooke
Yeah. Like initials or.
Danielle
Yeah. Like, they have a bet, like a way that they sign it.
Brooke
Yeah.
Danielle
How do you decide that? You have to sit with yourself and be like, I wanted to do you.
Brooke
Remember Like, I'm sure, like, when we were in high school, middle school even, there was always those girls that had, like, the perfect, like, not bubble handwriting, but, like, the cutesy handwriting. And I was always so jealous of.
Danielle
Me, too.
Brooke
Compared to my scratch of writing.
Danielle
Me too. I still am jealous. And I. It's, like, really upsetting because I love a handwritten list. I know. You do, too.
Brooke
Yeah. But it is so unfortunate.
Danielle
Sorry.
Brooke
Cute at all. Like Katie Bellotti Sochi.
Danielle
No.
Brooke
Her handwriting is. I mean, she's legal.
Danielle
Yeah. No. And she's, like, an expert on it, honestly. Like, cursive and that sort of stuff, but just, like, beautiful handwriting.
Brooke
No. Yeah. You just mean, like, in general. Like.
Danielle
Yeah.
Brooke
Just writing a list.
Danielle
I'm embarrass. Like, I'm gonna have to write thank you notes at some point in my life and.
Brooke
Oh, my God, might have to type mine. Sign it Impersonal.
Danielle
No.
Brooke
Yeah.
Danielle
You make it work.
Brooke
That is. We gotta start practicing. Maybe we can go to a class or something. I don't know how you change your.
Danielle
Handwriting, but I know we might be too far gone. Lost cause.
Brooke
Might be. Ooh. Something I find incredibly chic is ordering a cappuccino after dinner or, like, coffee with your dessert. I think that is so chic. My mom, growing up, my mom would always do that. Like, can I get a decaf cappuccino? I'm like, that's so cool.
Danielle
And, like, when you realize that you can do that, you're like, I can.
Brooke
I have free will. Yeah. It's like, oh, we could do that. Because, you know, when you don't want the night to end, maybe you're not drinking alcohol that night, but it's like. And you don't want dessert. Maybe it's like, let's get decaf caps or caf.
Danielle
Or cap or with the dessert.
Brooke
Oh, my God. Coffee with dessert. Tastes so good.
Danielle
It is. That's like, so, like, family party coded.
Brooke
It's so family dinner, family party. Right, right. It is a family.
Danielle
Yeah. It's like, okay, we're serving dessert. Anybody want coffee?
Brooke
Same growing up. Like, on Christmas, it's like, okay to get the jug out, you know? Or not the jug, but the coffee maker out.
Danielle
Yeah. And it would be like, we're making, like, a pot of decaf. And then if you want, like, caffeine, like, we've got the Nespresso.
Brooke
Yes. Yeah. Oh, my God. That's so fun.
Danielle
I think it's a universal experience.
Brooke
It must be like, how our parents grew up, because, like, I wonder if like, hopefully we keep that tradition going.
Danielle
Yeah.
Brooke
But, like, I wonder if that's, like, their thing that they've brought with them. Yeah. You know, like, I wonder.
Danielle
Yeah. Yeah. It doesn't come to the forefront of my mind, like, the few times I've, like, had someone over for dinner, I'm not like, no.
Brooke
Yeah.
Danielle
Coffee.
Brooke
Yeah. No, I never.
Danielle
At the end.
Brooke
No. No, not at all. But at a restaurant, it feels so right.
Danielle
Yeah, it does feel right.
Brooke
I still really want to order a decaf espresso martini one of these days at a place that, like, could offer it. Like, that would be so yum, I think.
Danielle
Have you not tried it yet?
Brooke
No, I tried it one time. I was brave because I was really nervous to ask, and they didn't have decaf, but I feel like, restaurants. True restaurants, though.
Danielle
Yeah. When's the last time you had a real espresso Martin martini?
Brooke
I had a sip of someone's at Jazz's wedding, and it was delicious. It's like high school, Danny. Oh, my God. Imagine that.
Danielle
You would have loved it.
Brooke
Me at a party with espresso martinis. I feel like you get those a lot.
Danielle
I do. I love it. It's just, like, a solid drink option. Like, it's a bit. It's not really a universal drink option because not every bar has the right materials to be making you a.
Brooke
At a dive bar. Yeah, I know.
Danielle
I'll have to stick to a vodka soda here.
Brooke
Vodka soda. What's your next one?
Danielle
Or do, like, some sort of, like, tequila concoction.
Brooke
Yeah, for you, not for me.
Danielle
Okay. People who are, like. I don't want to say hyper independent, but people who are, like, so independent that they're like, oh, like, I want to go to a museum. I'm just going to go alone. Oh, like, I. I want to go to, you know, this place for dinner. I'm gonna go alone. Which I love that. Like. Like, people who just go places alone, and we. We do a lot alone. Like, you know, we're. Yeah, we're independent. I feel like I do a lot of my things alone, but, like, go to a museum alone, like, that's brave, you know?
Brooke
Yeah. Or going to a concert alone.
Danielle
Yeah. Like, because you're just like. I just wanted to see the artist, you know? Like, I'm passionate about it. I didn't want to bother anybody. Like, it's so.
Brooke
Yeah, that's a really good one, too. Yeah, I know. I'm trying to think of, like, other examples of things that you might do alone that are scary.
Danielle
Like, that are traditionally like, you do. I actually think traveling is not a scary thing to do alone because I think you're in another city, so you're almost like, cosplaying is like. Yeah, I think it's scarier to do things alone in your own complete city.
Brooke
Yeah. Yeah. I feel like. Like, you said, like, going to see a show, like, abroad.
Danielle
Yes. People do that all the time, though. I. At intermission, I can tell, like, clearly I look around, you know me, like, who's alone here?
Brooke
No, I'm laughing because now live shows are over. The movie comment of you going to the movies. We talked about on the podcast about, like, going to movies alone and, like.
Danielle
Yeah.
Brooke
How we just, like, really haven't done that.
Danielle
Yeah. And how, like, you know, we. We're not sure how we feel about it. I was like, maybe I would do it in the comment. There was, like, a top comment on, like, the clip, and it was like, brooke hasn't gone to the movies alone. That's so weird. I could totally see her doing that.
Brooke
All of the time.
Danielle
All of the time. I'll never forget that part.
Brooke
Just like, I totally see her doing that all of the time. Time.
Danielle
It was the. All the time for me. I was like, it got a lot of life. Okay. So I'm lurking outside of theaters, like, okay, like, catch Me at the Alamo.
Brooke
But maybe now it's, like, chic.
Danielle
I think it's. It's just chic to have the confidence to do that.
Brooke
Yeah.
Danielle
You know, like, to be like. Instead of being like, oh, I want to wait for someone to see this musical with me. Like, you're just gonna. Okay, I'm just gonna go see. Because I want to see it, you know?
Brooke
No, it's so true. I need to just do that with Boob, because I really want to go see Boob. Unless you want to see it.
Danielle
I'm. I do want to see it. I.
Brooke
So maybe we'll be not friends that.
Danielle
Wanted to go see. I thought that you had, like, a.
Brooke
Whole squad is already going to see it again.
Danielle
Again.
Brooke
She's going to see it this weekend. I won't be here. She's like, we're going. I was like, again? I know. Maybe I'll get her to go a third time. I don't know.
Danielle
No, I would go.
Brooke
I've heard.
Danielle
Good. Yeah. I haven't been to the theater in a while, actually, now that I think about it.
Brooke
Yeah. It's a. I went on Friday. What did I say? You have to go see it. John Proctor Is the villain.
Danielle
Yeah.
Brooke
Oh my gosh. It's a play. You. If you're in New York City, Sadie sings in it. It was incredible. It was funny. It had a lot of Taylor Swift references in it. It was so good.
Danielle
Really.
Brooke
High school, young, fun. Oh my gosh. And has a really great message too. It gets deep at times, but like incredible.
Danielle
Really?
Brooke
Really.
Danielle
Oh, I'm. I'm signed up like.
Brooke
And Delaney and I have like the same, but different taste. And she was like, oh, I thought it was going to be cheesy. And then like, it wasn't like, I think you would really like it.
Danielle
Great. I love, I love a play, you know?
Brooke
Yes, I know you do.
Danielle
Broadway play.
Brooke
You need to go see that.
Danielle
Oh, that's.
Brooke
That's.
Danielle
That's awesome.
Brooke
It's a. I. I know they just got extended to mid July, so like it was already supposed to be over. So definitely go soon. Oh, this is like specific and new to like. I started doing this and I think it's chic. So this is kind of about me, but I don't know. And I see other people doing it too. I think when you wear a quarter zip zipped all the way up under your chin is so chic. You know what I mean?
Danielle
I do know what you mean. Like, you know, naturally you would leave it a quarter zip maybe like. No. Think I have seen. I see people like out and about with.
Brooke
Yeah.
Danielle
Oh, that's cool. It's chic.
Brooke
You just feel very protected. I don't feel like you could see a double chin. And if you have your hair pulled back. Yeah. You feel very safe and secure. I mean, as like summer is here now, you might get a little hot, but when you're at home and you're just like, want to be cozy. Like I think that might be my new travel thing. I usually do hoodies but like a little zip zip up like a thicker fleece one zipped up to the chin. It just feels. I think it's. And I think it looks really cute. I do. So I don't know. Sue me.
Danielle
I think it's cool too. I feel like it's cool. I also like it for like, like a high neck sweater or something. Like, you know, you could fold it down, but you could also wear it up.
Brooke
Yes. Stuff like that. Just like a high neck. Anything. It's just to the button to the top.
Danielle
I agree. I have, I've seen let's.
Brooke
Seeing these rumblings.
Danielle
Yeah. What else do I have here? I mean, I feel like I've talked about My obsession with glasses. Not eyeglasses, but.
Brooke
Oh, yeah, that's chic.
Danielle
God, I love a thin, thin, thin.
Brooke
Oh, yeah, like a thin lip.
Danielle
Thin lip. The thickest lip, the thick slippy. And if you're drinking wine, I love a thin stem.
Brooke
Yeah, that is really chic. Something about it, like, you can't even explain it. It's like, why is that chic? I don't know.
Danielle
Yeah, it's just the, the sat. It's very satisfying. And I like, I honestly like nice glassware. I like having a nice a. A nice set of like plates and stuff. And it does. I mean, it could also be perfectly mismatched and cure. Like. I think it's cool. I went to Ben and I went over a couple's house for dinner like a while ago. And like, they had just like the, the colors that they had of their plates. I was like, oh, my God, the coordination, like, it was giving everything, like just nice plates and they, they're like, they're from Amazon, like, but because, of.
Brooke
Course, never would have. That was so chic of you to say. We went over to a couple's house for dinner.
Danielle
That, that was, that was really shake now. We were like, brought dessert. You know, that's.
Brooke
That's really chic. Did you bring cappuccinos?
Danielle
No, that was one of those places where I was like, I wanted to reference articles and stuff, cuz they were all really smart. So anyways, guys, I saw this thing on Tik Tok.
Brooke
I know. It's like, choose your audience. It's like, okay, what will impress these people?
Danielle
It was like intellectual conversation, which I do like. And I do like to engage you engage in that. Feel better?
Brooke
Like, no, you love an intellectual conversation. It's always as I'm closing my eyes to go to bed at night.
Danielle
Oh, yeah, no, I know. I love it. It's nice when you, like, meet someone who right off the bat, it's just like, they go there. Yeah. Oh, we're bypassing like friends, family, like we're just gonna go there.
Brooke
Yeah.
Danielle
Perfect.
Brooke
Perfect. No small talk.
Danielle
Yeah.
Brooke
Get into it.
Danielle
Yeah.
Brooke
I totally love that. If I can get there.
Danielle

Brooke
Oh, I have always found this to be so chic. People that go to the grocery store go to the market to get like a meal for that night. Like to get the ingredients just to make something that day is so chic. Or like you've done this before in the Hamptons. Like you'll. You'll go to the market and get like thing. I remember one time you and Ben went to get stuff to make it caprese for all of us. Yeah, Caprese salad. I thought that was so chic. You went and got the ingredients, you came back, you didn't get everything for the week. It was just like that.
Danielle
Honestly, that's how I operate. But that's just because I have poor planning.
Brooke
Like, then you're chic.
Danielle
Yeah.
Brooke
Well, I think that's very chic. It's like, what do I want today? I'm gonna go get it, come back. I think that's so cool.
Danielle
It hits different when it's like the farm stand.
Brooke
Yeah.
Danielle
Farmer's market. Like it's like I'm gonna get the fresh cheese for the plate. Like that is. Is so chic.
Brooke
Or you get like the butcher to cut the meat. Like that's so chic. Fresh bread.
Danielle
I think it's so chic to have like a spots. Like to have like your guy. Your like your guy got your. My parents are so like, I'm sure yours too because with age I think you get your guys like my dad. I gotta call my lawn guy, my car guy. Like they have so guys for everything they've got a guy for and a gal for things too. Of course. I feel like my mom for her beauty Treatments. She's got her gals. And then like my dad for his, like, home care things a lot of the time, like, you know, the pool care.
Brooke
Like, it's like, it is like a set thing though. It's like. No, I'm. I'm staying with this person.
Danielle
Yeah, they've got the shoe, the shoemaker, the leather person that like.
Brooke
Yeah, yeah, no, I totally agree. Is it your dad's birthday, by the way?
Danielle
How did you know that, brother?
Brooke
Your brother posted on the story and it was so funny. It was like the big five, six pops. Like, happy birthday. So it was so sal. Like, I loved it. So happy birthday to your dad.
Danielle
Oh, happy birthday to my dad. I was gonna say, continuing our conversation we had two weeks ago now at this point about bananas and like the perfect time to eat them.
Brooke
Yes.
Danielle
Love a brother moment. You know, I posted about how I'm loving the smoothie. Whatever. My brother, out of the blue, unsolicited, sends me like a tick tock from like, I'm not gonna say it's like a valid source. Whatever. No, was like if you. They were talking about smoothies, like blending fruit makes the glycemic index go up, you know, 400 times. Some sort of thing. Unsolicited.
Brooke
I was like, I just want to.
Danielle
Have a smoothie, sir. I. I just opened my eyes and I'm just having a little banana smoothie.
Brooke
Yeah. I was just proud to have it today.
Danielle
Like, I thought that I was doing. I had some fruit.
Brooke
What's the solution?
Danielle
Just. No, no, you're not supposed to blend it. Like, that's what he. The.
Brooke
You mash it instead of blending.
Danielle
No, you're just supposed to eat it like, like.
Brooke
Oh, that like, literally makes no sense to me. But I have heard this. Or like when you have a juice, it takes out the, the fiber content or whatever.
Danielle
Yeah. Which I actually, like, need help in that department. So, like, you like to get things like. Yeah, I need to, you know, some in that department. Yes. But I literally was like, sir, this is a Wendy's.
Brooke
No Wendy's. I am not here to help you. Thanks. So that's so. That's so.
Danielle
Would you rather. That's why I said, oh, yeah, totally do do that too. I was like, this was unsolved. I literally wrote back. I literally don't care.
Brooke
Yeah, no. Literally, no.
Danielle
And then.
Brooke
Oh, brothers.
Danielle
Oh. Oh, brother. Oh, brother.
Brooke
That must be where it came from. Oh, brother. Big brother dvd. My next one is the Smell of Sunscreen.
Danielle
And you have a story about this.
Brooke
Oh, oh, Yes, I do. That's not why I said it.
Danielle
No, it's on your mind.
Brooke
You've got flower Georgia. No, but I've always thought this, that the smell of sunscreen was so chic. Like, I love if I'm walking down west side High or if I'm walking somewhere and I smell sunscreen, maybe it's like, nostalgic for me.
Danielle
Yeah.
Brooke
What do you think of that? Do you think?
Danielle
No, I attach it to like, summer. Like. Yeah. I'm like, oh, my gosh, it's sunscreen time. Like, makes you think, like, the sun's out.
Brooke
Yeah, sun's out. And I also think that means, like, whoever just walks, especially if we're in the city and I smell sunscreen, I'm like, oh, so know you. You're just like protecting yourself from the sun. Like, you're not even like, maybe probably going to the beach. Like, they just wanted to put sunscreen.
Danielle
They're just blocked.
Brooke
And I think that's really chic. No, this is. People are commenting saying like, oh, this wasn't. This was so real. The other day I sprayed on. Have you. Have you tried this? The vacation?
Danielle
But I've. I'm familiar with the sunscreen.
Brooke
They have the whipped sunscreen and it smells really good. So they made a perfume called Vacation UDA perfume. And they also just came out with an after sun perfume, which I haven't smelled even yet, but it smells really good. It's a mixture of like, sunscreen and like a powdery smell. Whatever. Anyways, I sprayed it on and it was the first time I sprayed it of the season. And I was walking down west side Highway. And I'm not gonna lie, I didn't say this my tick tock, but I was on my phone listening to something and I just like felt a body, like, walking next to me, like, trying to talk to me. And you know, like, we're trained to, like, be careful. So I would. I just like kind of kept walking. And I was just looking at my phone. Like, I just pretended like he was so obviously right there.
Danielle
It was a man.
Brooke
It was a man. And it was like an older man. I was just like getting kind of nervous.
Danielle
I was just like, anytime it's like a man, I'm like, no, honestly, not an older man.
Brooke
But I was like, maybe he's trying to, like, hit on me. Like, I don't know. I wouldn't look that cute. But.
Danielle
No, but they're usually something on a chat. Yeah, like, of course.
Brooke
Yeah. So I was on guard. But finally he like, put his hand in my peripheral. Like, it was in front of my face. So it was like.
Danielle
He was like, you have to stop.
Brooke
Yeah, and what?
Danielle
Scared? In the moment where you.
Brooke
Like, I was scared, but then I was like, okay, I'm on the west side Highway. There's, like, so many people here. Like, if anything, I'm just gonna have to tell this guy I have a boyfriend and walk away. Like, I don't know.
Danielle
And, like, I have a boy.
Brooke
No, imagine. Imagine I was prepared to, like, you.
Danielle
Know, not take off your head for, sorry, I have a boyfriend.
Brooke
Sorry. My boyfriend care less about that. But. So that's why it's funny is because he was like, miss. Miss, Like, I'm so sorry to bother you. Like, what perfume are you wearing? It smells so good. I literally, everyone I was around turned their heads. He said this word for word, and I was like, all right, I don't know about that. I'm like, did you talk to everyone when I walked by? Like, did you guys smell that?
Danielle
Like, I just don't believe it to the ground and said, oh, my God.
Brooke
I don't know about that, but that's what he said. He was like, I review perfumes for a living. I know.
Danielle
Was this, like, a TikTok was.
Brooke
I know he. He was not the TikTok demo, But anyways, he was just like, what is it? It had this powdery cement. Cement cell. Oh, my God, my brain. Powdery scent. Sunscreen or. He didn't say sunscreen. He just said, like, fruit, whatever. And so I told him, and he was like, oh, my gosh, thank you so much. Like, have a good day. And he just kept walking. So I was like, like, oh, he really wanted.
Danielle
He reviews perfumes for a living.
Brooke
That's what he said. But I don't know if that means, like, in the lab, if that means. I feel like it was more like that. I don't. I don't know if he's, like, making videos. I have no idea. But it was the highest compliment ever. And you know when you see people make those TikToks, like, yeah, someone just stopped me on the street. And I've never believed those. So honestly, I get the naysayers, but it happened to me, so I understood it. Didn't that happen to you one time with the mugler? Or did that happen to someone? Someone else. The Mugler wear a lot.
Danielle
There was, like, a story involving Kid Keenan with that. That I feel like she was saying, okay. Said that she wore it and that, like, someone or she gets the most confidence from men when she wears it or something. That's what it was. Because then I feel like I said I was like, oh, like, Kid Keenan says this gets you compliments for men. Because it is, like, notes of vanilla, I think.
Brooke
Yeah, there's vanilla. Okay. I knew there was something with that.
Danielle
How can I ask how many sprays you did to get this? Because I know.
Brooke
I wish I could remember, because I feel like I've sprayed it on since then, and, like, no one said anything.
Danielle
But did you douse yourself in it or, like, one spray?
Brooke
Like, no, I feel like it's definitely a perfume, but I definitely sprayed it like a body mist. Because I don't think, like. And I've seen people's reviews about it. It's like, it smells great, but I don't know how long. Like, I don't think it lasts very long. So I don't know. I did, like, a couple sprays.
Danielle
Yeah.
Brooke
But we'll see. I feel like you have to really spray it on your pulse points and all that.
Danielle
Interesting.
Brooke
I don't know. But that happened. That was very exciting.
Danielle
But I could so see it happening. And you probably really were like, oh.
Brooke
I was loving it. I was like, I love scents. So that was just. Oh, my God, it was the best day ever. So if you think someone smells good, just tell them, because it'll make their day.
Danielle
It is a. That's a nice compliment. No, definitely not. Certainly not.
Brooke
Do you have any more things you find?
Danielle
Oh, I think I had one more.
Brooke
I can't wait. This is so fun.
Danielle
Well, I actually also put having a signature scent. Oh. But then I also have just. I think it's very cool when people who are, like, so, so beautiful, so put together, like, they're just genuinely, like, really nice, good people, too. Like, I feel like that is very chic in that, like, complete soul package of, like, it being, like, yeah. You know, like, you could be a.
Brooke
Like, literally could be looks.
Danielle
I didn't suggest it, but, like, it could be. But you're also, like, polite and kind and, like, a good person. Like, that, to me, is very. Not to end on my.
Brooke
No, that is. I like it.
Danielle
It is very. Like, when I think of people that are, like, really pet together, I'm like, wow. And she. And she's nice. My gosh.
Brooke
Like, no. I feel like we've met a few people that were like, oh, my God. And she's nice in person. Right? You, like.
Danielle
You know, I'm, like, waiting for the something. I'm like, drop there's got to be something now. They're literally so nice. Yeah, that is.
Brooke
I like that roundup. It is really nice when someone is as nice or looks like a cinnamon.
Danielle
Roll is a cinnamon roll.

Gals on the Go: Episode Summary – "Things We Find Incredibly Chic"
Release Date: June 11, 2025
In the latest episode of Gals on the Go, hosts Brooke Miccio and Danielle Carolan delve into the elegant and stylish aspects that define chicness in their lives. From fashion choices to personal anecdotes, the duo offers listeners a heartfelt and engaging exploration of what makes certain elements irresistibly chic.
The episode kicks off with Brooke and Danielle unpacking the meaning of "chic." Danielle shares her initial confusion with the term, highlighting its evolution from merely stylish to embodying personality traits and genuine actions.
Danielle [01:22]: "It's become more like personality traits and, like, true actions and things which, like, yeah, like, I guess those things can be stylish as well."
Brooke adds a playful twist, intertwining humor with their conversation.
Brooke [01:52]: "That's very chic of you to do. It's definitely like a certain genesis quoi."
Danielle recounts her recent trip to the Hamptons with Brooke, highlighting the chicness of their getaway despite the unseasonably chilly and rainy weather.
Danielle [02:15]: "It really was just a little getaway... it is very chic."
Brooke humorously contrasts Danielle's love for sunshine with their rainy retreat.
Brooke [03:05]: "That's so your vibe. I feel like I know you love sun."
A significant portion of the episode focuses on Brooke's exciting news about securing a new apartment in New York City—a move she made sight unseen, a first for her. Danielle expresses her surprise and support.
