Brooke
It's Brooke and Danielle, and we're both wearing the same pair of shoes.
Danielle
We are. We're twinning, but we're wearing totally different looks.
Brooke
Is the totally different looks Brooke is giving like. I don't even know, actually.
Danielle
What am I giving? I feel like this is.
Brooke
You're giving. It's like, classic. Yeah, classic.
Danielle
It's like, too early to wear, like, just a heel. Like, I feel like it's still boots weather. So that's.
Brooke
Yes.
Danielle
You know, like, I think this dress would be better served with a little heel. But, like, you know, it's on the go today.
Brooke
No, it's so cute. It's so perfect. I love it. And I'm giving rowing blazers. Rowing blazers. Equestrian energy. Now that actually, no, because, like, an equestrian wouldn't wear this dress, which you guys should watch us on YouTube because.
Danielle
Yeah, totally. Then you could see these gorgeous looks.
Brooke
Yeah. But we're doing a really fun episode today that actually a listener suggested. So we're always looking out for listener suggestions. By the way, if you're like, I want you guys to do an episode themed on this. Like, we're so down. So we're going to be talking about the best advice you guys will ever be given ever.
Danielle
Totally. Just your best piece of advice. We asked you guys to submit what? Fashion, life, fitness, relationships, trials and tribulations. Just the best pieces of advice you've ever received. And we're going to share all those nuggets of wisdom with you. And they're really original. They're not just like motivational quotes. I feel like they're, you know, I learned something from reading these.
Brooke
Seriously, I'm really excited to like delve deep into them and just have this episode be something you guys can come back to and like get some further inspo on. So we're really excited.
Danielle
Yeah, I know. Look at us learning with the gal.
Brooke
I know. Two idiots talking about, talking about our biggest tips. Exactly. How are you doing? Good.
Danielle
You could hear my voice. I, I have, I have gotten some, some sort of cold that has been going around with people in my life but it's like really right up here. So hopefully it go way. I'm drinking my medicine ball tea. You know, this is. Yeah, we're detoxing. You know, medicine's the best. Yes. I feel like I've been trying to like sweat it out and like you know, just working it out.
Brooke
It works out.
Danielle
I know I work out and I'm trying to sleep a lot of. Yeah, I feel like that's big when you're sick, right?
Brooke
Oh totally. I feel like that's half of it. Just like sleeping in a little extra.
Danielle
Yeah, you can. Oh, I give it to. I'm like, my body's tired.
Brooke
No, seriously, snooze.
Danielle
Yeah. So I've, I had a really chill weekend just being made a little sick. So yeah. Taking it easy and watching Love is Blind. How about you?
Brooke
Nice. Pretty similar vibes. Ish. Well, no, I'm like on my way out of finally not being sick. But yeah, it was a fun weekend. I headed out on the town. It was my best friend's birthday. Caitlyn. We went to this place Batsu that you need. I was sending you. Yeah. I don't know if you saw my story. Oh my God, this place was crazy. It is so fun. It's a Japanese style comedy game show.
Danielle
Assign me up. I. That is just everything I love in one Phrase. Yeah. Did you win? Like, was it like, we.
Brooke
I was confused. We do not compete. Well, some people they bring up to compete with them, but it was like four comedians that are competing to do different things, and if they do, if they lose, they get batsu, which is like. Like, kind of like what the loser gets. It's like you have to do something. Like when someone drank soy sauce out of a belly button. Oh, yeah. It was like that vibe. Or you, like, get a human rubber band to you, but it's because, like, the cat. We're not doing it. It's like, yeah, People that do this, and they're being paid to be there. But it is like, the craziest, most fun show. It's in the East Village. I really highly suggest.
Danielle
And you eat dinner there too, or that's just the show.
Brooke
They had dinner, but our reservation was until 10, and so my friend Caitlin was like, I'm just gonna have pizza at my apartment beforehand and then we'll go. And, like, you could get like, shishito peppers and like. Yeah, but they also. They only only have sake or Sapporo, which I actually love. It's like a Japanese beer. So good. Okay, so. But it was really fun. And we did that. And then Sunday was Ryan and I's anniversary.
Danielle
Yes. Happy anniversary. Was that the actual day of the anniversary?
Brooke
Yes, March 2nd. Which is also my mom's birthday. I'm like, ryan, what are you thinking?
Danielle
Wait, I totally missed your mom's birthday.
Brooke
I know. I, like, have. I'm really trying to stay true to. I only post people's birthdays if I'm with them.
Danielle
God, you can make an exception for your mom. I didn't know. Oh, my gosh. I don't have your mom's birthday. My calendar.
Brooke
So sorry, Mom. I love you.
Danielle
Now I have to send her a balloo related birthday text. Oh, my God, I'm a loser. Like, she's gonna be like, you're a fraud. Like, you don't even know.
Brooke
I didn't think that at all. Because she was like, people are calling me that.
Danielle
I'm.
Brooke
I don't even know how they knew it was my birthday. Excited.
Danielle
Facebook.
Brooke
Probably Facebook.
Danielle
I just. I don't check Facebook, so I feel like I miss. Sometimes I miss my friends birthdays. I'm like, I'm literally so sorry.
Brooke
Oh, I know.
Danielle
I don't.
Brooke
I should have told you. I'm sorry.
Danielle
No, no, you're so fine. I. I knew that it was coming up. I should have known.
Brooke
No, it's. It's a really big issue, it being my anniversary and my mom's birthday. But like, the good thing is one day I'll have an anniversary wedding anniversary.
Danielle
And that becomes a new date.
Brooke
And that's a new date. So yeah, it' worry. It's also, I think, like Dr. Seuss's birthday. Fun fact.
Danielle
Oh, it's a lock. Celebrate Dr. Seuss's birthday.
Brooke
You like, know like random people's birthdays?
Danielle
Yes, one, but usually it's like cuz it's on my birthday.
Brooke
Okay.
Danielle
Or like someone. Well, yeah, your mom's like, maybe that plays into it.
Brooke
Well, like, I know that March 1st was Justin Bieber's birthday. I mean, that makes sense.
Danielle
Then you know that this boy I.
Brooke
Went to literally elementary school with, Colin. His birthday, September 17th.
Danielle
Like, happy birthday, Colin.
Brooke
Like, you know, these like random things you think about.
Danielle
Yeah.
Brooke
But anyways, it was a really nice weekend. Watch the Oscars. I'm sure you did too.
Danielle
How was the anniversary? How was.
Brooke
It was good. It was kind of chaotic because the weekend was like all mumbled jumbled. But we went to brunch at Restoration Hardware Rooftop, which was. We both love it so much. And they gave us the perfect table. It was the best.
Danielle
That's a good spot. I forget about that spot.
Brooke
Oh, yeah. And we got pedicures.
Danielle
Oh my gosh. Whose idea was that?
Brooke
Mine.
Danielle
You were like, hey, we should get a pedicure. Was he apprehensive? Was he in.
Brooke
Oh my God. He's never gotten a pedicure ever.
Danielle
Yeah.
Brooke
And I've tried to get him literally for six years to get a pedicure. He refuses. And I was like, let me try. On our anniversary.
Danielle
Yeah, you can't say no that day.
Brooke
Yeah, he can't say no. And he had the best time. It's so funny though. Like, guys, like, beauty really is pain. I don't think they realize.
Danielle
Oh. When they are ripping the skin off the bottom of your foot and the paraffin and everything.
Brooke
Yeah, yeah. But what was hilarious. I'm so sorry, Ryan. What? He was really in pain and grabbed my hand during and squeezed. It was when they was clipping his toenails and he clips his own toenails. So I was confused.
Danielle
Maybe it's just the thought of, like. It's like they bring out like the clipper and he's like, oh, now they're gonna take my toes off. I know.
Brooke
I don't know what it was. It was so funny. But he loved it. He left being like, wow. Like, I feel like I have new Feet. I'm like, yeah, you literally do.
Danielle
Did you want him to do it to experience the feeling of, like, a pedicure or. Because, like, when you look at his feet, you're like, hey, you need a pedicure.
Brooke
Is the experience. His feet were, like, fine.
Danielle
Yeah, his feet probably look like.
Brooke
I mean, they're, you know, they're, like, a little flaky, you know.
Danielle
Yeah, no, say. I feel that. Actually. I. Yeah, no, I've never. No. Never gone for a pedicure.
Brooke
Take him. It was.
Danielle
I kind of want to. Yeah. I mean, couples pedicure. Like, we've done couples massage. Yeah, couples pedicure.
Brooke
Petty. It's. It's a really, like, sweet experience. And he was like. When they were like, you know, they use that tool to shave off your gel. He was like, what are they doing your toes? Like, oh.
Danielle
So he got to get insight into, like, the entire experience.
Brooke
When I go get my nails done, it was very sweet. So really nice weekend.
Danielle
Oh, I love that. I mean, he probably loved the foot massage. That's such a treat. Like the cat. Oh, and he's. He works out.
Brooke
Oh, my God.
Danielle
Half is going with the hot stones. They bring out the hot stones.
Brooke
Obviously, it's the best. When you get a foot massage, like, at the nail salon, do you, like, stay on your phone or do you lay back and close your eyes if.
Danielle
It'S, like, really that good? Like, you know, sometimes gotta. Sometimes it's like a light rub. Like, you know, all right, I. But some, like, I pay extra for, like, the. You know, like, I'm like, I'm getting 10 minutes extra today. Like, hit me, like, you know, And.
Brooke
I love when they start the time or two, they're like, just so, you know, starting now, they want you to know.
Danielle
No worries. I know you're not trying to get me a few minutes off or something.
Brooke
And then it literally beeps so loud to alert you.
Danielle
So loud you're like, I get it.
Brooke
I get it. Time is done. And then they're like, do you want to add five more minutes? Sometimes they get me.
Danielle
I'm like, 100%. When I'm, like, really deeply crying, and I'm like, oh, yeah, obviously, let's do it.
Brooke
Let's. Let's.
Danielle
Let's indulge.
Brooke
Or if they're like, would you like to move over to the neck massage area? And you're like, does your nails on. I go. I go to different ones, but. Where did you. We went to. I don't. I've never been in this place. Before it was in the West Village.
Danielle
You just walked in.
Brooke
Yeah.
Danielle
That's such a treat. Like, just walking into a nail salon. It's so, like, suburbs. Like, to walk in and they'll be like, okay, five minutes. Just take a seat. Yes.
Brooke
Pick your color.
Danielle
Yeah. It's so fun.
Brooke
But anyways, I want to hear about your panic of the week.
Danielle
My panic of the week. I did do something this weekend. I went to Jersey, actually. Okay.
Brooke
Actually, I saw this on 5 My friends. Because I was trying to.
Danielle
Yeah.
Brooke
And I was like, I thought you were headed to Long island or something.
Danielle
That's out of the way. Okay.
Brooke
I literally know nothing. I did say Jersey City, I guess, or something.
Danielle
Yeah. I went to Hoboken. I realized that I, like, took just no photos. Like, I like. And I'm normally not that person, but, like, we kind of arrived, like, late. Like, so, you know, apps were already being eaten. Like, it wasn't about for a meal.
Brooke
Yes, yes.
Danielle
Like, and then I was like, okay. It's not really, like a vibe, you know?
Brooke
Yeah. It's like, I'm not gonna do a half eaten photo of my food.
Danielle
Yeah. I was like. And I was just like, living the moment. Whatever. To get there, I decided I've been driving a lot more recently. I have my car, so I'm like, hey, let me drive. Like, that's been like my unlock. I'm like, you know, I. I have this car. I'm paying for. I'm paying for the car payment. I'm paying for the insurance. I'm paying for the parking in my building. Might as well use it because those have to be paid no matter what. So.
Brooke
Yeah.
Danielle
Okay.
Brooke
That's so true.
Danielle
Yeah. And I'm like, you guys know I make no sense with, like, my spending. I'm like, gotta cut back in some areas. But, like these. Whatever. But I actually am like, I need to, you know, be driving more. I was like, I'm saving money. This is great. I offered to pick up my other friend who lives in Brooklyn, so we drove together. I realized it costs $30 to go into Jersey when you take the Lincoln Tunnel.
Brooke
Is this the congestion tax or something?
Danielle
No, this is always. And I just forgot about it. I think if you what? I think if it's an Uber, it's a different rate, I do believe, because it is quite literally $29 to go in and out.
Brooke
And is that charged to your license plate or something?
Danielle
Yeah, I have an easy pass. I have an easy pass. But, you know, I had drama with the easy pass. I ever Tell you that when I got sent to collections for my easy pass, maybe. Actually, I do remember you telling me, like, forgot to. Don't do this, guys. It's just so easy to fall behind on bills when you're an adult. Oh, my gosh. And my bills get sent to my parents house and they bring me the stack and I'm like, I get overwhelmed at the stack of bills and I'm like, God, whatever. Like, I don't want to do it. And one time I was like, what the heck is going on? Like, my easy pass won't let me reload it. And then they were like, I called them, finally got a hold of them, and they were like, we can't even handle this claim because you've been sent to collections. You have to call collections. So they sent it to an outside agency. They closed my account. It was like affecting my credit score. I had no clue. Like, this is terrible. Like $50. This was last summer's panic.
Brooke
Last summer's panic.
Danielle
I cleared it out. They made me. Like, that made no sense. They're like, we have to completely clear out this easy pass. You have to send it back and we'll send you a new one. I was like, all for. Just restart this one.
Brooke
Yeah, restart it. Reload it.
Danielle
It's just a number.
Brooke
Like you do like auto pay on it.
Danielle
So I finally set up the office.
Brooke
But that's a hurdle.
Danielle
No, no. So anyways, I just. My panic was just realizing how much the tolls are. I mean, well, then I actually have to figure out if I had to pay that. Because I'm pretty sure that if you're not. Oh, no, I went on the local street. So then I had to pay the eight dollar fee to get into the city, plus the 29. No, I paid way more. I see. I thought I was cheating the system here. I was like, yeah, guys, I literally have my own car. Like, I think I made a hundred dollars to go to Hoboken for brunch. Without even the brunch.
Brooke
I am up. Like, I am. So. Yeah, so if you Ubered, like, you wouldn't have gotten charged that. It would have been like.
Danielle
I want to say that there's a difference.
Brooke
I don't think you would ever charge an extra $30.
Danielle
No, no, because I've ubered to Hoboken before for like 35. So like, I feel like that doesn't even really.
Brooke
Come on, world. I was trying to really.
Danielle
I tried. And I was carpooling with a friend. I was like, we're saving you know, at least I'm driving someone else, like.
Brooke
Panic at the disco, my girl.
Danielle
I know that's real adult stuff, but at the same time, like, we had fun in the car. Like, yeah, later on. Music and whatever. But I don't know what the right thing to do is these days.
Brooke
I don't know if the right thing to do either is.
Danielle
Yeah. And the parking was $4. I parked on the street. I was like, oh, this is such a deal trip. It was all in. All in. I mean, with the food, the driving was way more than the brunch, which is up. That doesn't even make sense. Crazy.
Brooke
Wow. I would be panicking, too.
Danielle
I feel like.
Brooke
Excuse me.
Danielle
Yeah.
Brooke
Real.
Danielle
I know. So funny. Isn't real. Okay.
Brooke
My panic of the week was just, like, a classic. Like, it'd be part of a movie situation.
Danielle
Okay.
Brooke
I had some people over to watch the Oscars. It was a very last minute thing.
Danielle
And you wear dresses.
Brooke
Yes.
Danielle
We have to unpack the dress lore, too.
Brooke
Yes. That's actually what this is about. Oh. So every year, my best friend Delaney's mom and dad, they host this Oscars party every year in Georgia. Like, literally cater waiters dressed to the nines. Her mom does outfit changes. Like, it's so fun. So in college, we would go just like, a little backstory. So every year, since Delaney's moved to New York, we watch the Oscars together and we wear dresses. Or on the years couldn't go during college, we would wear dresses. Like, it was always a thing. And not necessarily put on makeup, but we wear dresses. So Delaney told me, okay, everyone come over. We're gonna wear dresses. And I was like, oh, gosh, okay, I'll do it. Because this is, like, so important to her. That's what we've always done. It's a cute tradition. And then last minute, we decided to pivot to my apartment because it was just a little bigger and some more people added on. And so I put on my dress. I'm getting ready to host everyone, and one of my friends was bringing someone they're, like, talking to right now. So I was, like, kind of nervous, you know, someone new.
Danielle
Of course. Yeah. You want to be on your.
Brooke
On my.
Danielle
Yes.
Brooke
On my A game.
Danielle
That's so nice that you take on the stress for them.
Brooke
Like, you know, you're like, me. Yeah, I know. I'm like, new person. Whatever.
Danielle
Yeah.
Brooke
The door opens, I open the door. I'm literally in my dress. Ready? I actually had makeup on. Everyone's in their sweatpants.
Danielle
How did that miscommunication happen?
Brooke
I was livid. And I felt so bad because the person was there, too. And I was like. My first words were like, what the fuck? Like, yeah, I literally am donning a dress. I mean, it wasn't a gown. It was like a midi dress. Whatever.
Danielle
Yes, but like you said, you seemed out of place in your own home then because you were like.
Brooke
Like, wait, I just seemed like the weird girl.
Danielle
Yeah.
Brooke
Dressed up. And everyone literally. They're holding ramen. Like, there literally couldn't be more cat.
Danielle
Oh, they were, like, prepared for a night in. Yeah.
Brooke
Yeah. It was like, you know, you missed out on the group chat kind of vibes.
Danielle
Did you? How did that miscommunication.
Brooke
Oh, I'm very involved. You know me. I'm very.
Danielle
I know. So how did that. They.
Brooke
It was just assumed that since we switched to my apartment, that we know.
Danielle
The rules no longer applied.
Brooke
Because. Because, you know, they were like, well, you know, since we're not having an our place, we'd have to, like, you know, we have to come here and, like, maybe change, which we wanted to be comfortable. I was like, I wasn't gonna do that if I came to you. It was funny. Delaney felt so bad. Meanwhile, Ryan and his roommate are on his way over, on. About to head over, and they're, like, getting dressed up. So I was like, please don't.
Danielle
Were they gonna wear, like, a suit? No, I.
Brooke
Okay, but maybe you could just wear, like, a blazer over your T shirt. Like, just for fun. For the bad. Yeah. Ryan's like, yeah, of course. So I'm like, don't dress up.
Danielle
Please do not.
Brooke
Yeah, it was just a case of the good old, like, miscommunicate. There was communicating, though. Delane's like, I just kind of figured.
Danielle
I was like, wow, you read each other's minds.
Brooke
Yeah, he didn't, though. It was funny. It was really funny. So I immediately changed immediately.
Danielle
Was the new member in sweatpants? Was he dressed casually?
Brooke
He actually was dressed, yeah. Like. I mean, he was casual.
Danielle
No. No blazer.
Brooke
No blazer. No. It was seen. He was great. I just hate that that was my first impression when he walked in, because I was.
Danielle
Because you're more chill than that. You're just not like that.
Brooke
Yeah. Giving, like. Oh, my God, guys. What the.
Danielle
Yeah.
Brooke
So anyway. Nice. So what are you loving?
Danielle
You kept it so chill.
Brooke
I was so chill.
Danielle

Danielle
Yeah, they're good. But these, they're called built puffs. And they're like, almost like a marshmallow consistency.
Brooke
Is this what the Felong twins are posting and catching that? Is it like this thing popular right now?
Danielle
I don't know. I have to look.
Brooke
They look so good. And they have flavors like. Yeah, mineral and stuff like that.
Danielle
Oh, mine is salted caramel is the one that I have. They're delicious though. And they just are like, almost like a candy texture. But they're protein bars. I don't build pop. Built puffs. P U, L. I don't. It's not new.
Brooke
Like, oh, no. Oh, these are protein bars.
Danielle
Yes.
Brooke
Oh, my God. They look.
Danielle
I think you would like the texture of it because it's kind of like a marshmallowy, like, chewy texture. Yes, they look good. Yeah, they're really good. And I, I have been like, grabbing a protein bar. You know me.
Brooke
Yeah. Bulky, no bulking. Season protein up.
Danielle
I'm just trying not to be like, ravenously starving because I realize that that's when I like, overeat and like, I'm sitting, like, oh, the pain, like, versus.
Brooke
I just, you know, stained.
Danielle
Have a little snack here and there.
Brooke
I know I'll be okay. Yeah, I feel like you're. You don't like, like you snack throughout. Well, I don't even know what I was gonna say.
Danielle
I don't eat real, real meals enough.
Brooke
You don't eat real meals? Yeah.
Danielle
Yes. Like, I'll be like, oh, I could hold myself, like, kind of screw myself in the end. Right?
Brooke
And then you're like, so hungry and.
Danielle
You'Re like, because I'm not hungry for breakfast is the problem. So then I kind of set my thought. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But I've Been trying to do, like, the protein shakes. I know you're big on the protein shakes.
Brooke
So good. The core power.
Danielle
They are really good. Do you have a favorite flavor?
Brooke
Chocolate. Have you tried the others?
Danielle
So I tried the chocolate, the vanilla, and then I tried, like, the. The, like, super protein one.
Brooke
Oh, yeah. The black one. It's a little.
Danielle
Not my fave. Not my fave. No. But I think the vanilla is for me.
Brooke
It is good. They usually have that at the airport, so I'll get that.
Danielle
Oh, it's a treat.
Brooke
It's also a good hack if you don't. Some people don't like to eat on planes.
Danielle
I'm. I get it.
Brooke
So it's a good.
Danielle
I don't really love to bring my tray table down if I.
Brooke
It's also vulnerable, like eating on a plane. The person next to you is just looking at your meal.
Danielle
I know. It's like, ah, looks good.
Brooke
Yeah. Or when it, like, you know, I am. When it's like, smells.
Danielle
Yes, of course.
Brooke
The cor Power is a good shake. Okay. Well built. Puff. I'm gonna try it out.
Danielle
Yeah, try them out. Amazon. I'm like, literally, my Amazon orders recently are crazy.
Brooke
Like, Amazon's a fun time.
Danielle
Totally.
Brooke
When you get on it, like, when you're like.
Danielle
Like, I could get anything on this thing.
Brooke
No, seriously, I'm like, I could order a foundation and then I can order my favorite hot sauce. Like, it's incredible.
Danielle
Pickles, olives. I ordered, like, little packs of olives recently.
Brooke
Oh, cute. Like snacking olives.
Danielle
Yes.
Brooke
That's fun.
Danielle
They're from this brand Free style. They. It's like, it was like a pack of, like, 30, but they have different flavors. Like, you know, some of them are, like, hot.
Brooke
I heard of. She does Tiktoks like it. She bought her the flight her the entire row. I need to start liking olives just to support this girl. I think it's cute.
Danielle
I know. She works so hard. Yeah.
Brooke
Oh, cool. Shout out. Freed olives.
Danielle
Freestyle.
Brooke
Freestyle.
Danielle
Free. They're free. They're free. They're free.
Brooke
You literally don't have to pay free olives.
Danielle
Yeah.
Brooke
I'm loving something that I think we were talking about on the podcast recently, Paige Lorenz's, like, beauty routine. Or maybe we were talking off.
Danielle
No, no, we were definitely talking on.
Brooke
Oh. Because the BK beauty brushes, I noticed she also had them. So I eventually did get the foundation stick.
Danielle
Is that what you have on today?
Brooke
Yes. I like it. I don't know how it looks on camera. It's great. I'm really happy with it, mainly for the application purposes.
Danielle
So do you literally put it right on?
Brooke
I. I don't know if that's sanitary. I go full.
Danielle
The full Monty, right Raw on face, skin prep, and then this raw skin.
Brooke
Prep and then this raw on my face. It blends so perfectly. And what I love the most about it is I feel like self tan on your neck goes the first for whatever reason. And like the chest. But my chest was looking tan, but not my neck. But my face was tan. So I just bring it down the neck and it blends so much better than, like a liquid foundation. I just, like, really need you to buy it. Just. Okay. Yeah. I think. I think the world of this foundation, it.
Danielle
And it's like a good coverage.
Brooke
I. I think so. I think it's great coverage. It feels like my Estee Lauder double wear foundation is like my favorite at the moment. And this feels maybe like the slightest bit less. But I. I mean, I wore it to, like, go out. Like, I think it photographs nice. Like, I am so happy with it. And just the application is so easy. You would use a brush with this, though. Feel like the beauty blender might not fly.
Danielle
Yeah.
Brooke
So loving it. And it's so beautiful.
Danielle
I know I'll have to give it a go. Yeah, I. I like that. I. My problem with, like, sticks and stuff in the past is just that the coverage wasn't there. Like, I was like. I feel like this is like.
Brooke
Yeah.
Danielle
Not thinking.
Brooke
Here's your opinions.
Danielle
But it looks like. I mean, if this is so. Yeah, I mean, your skin looks great.
Brooke
I'm happy with it. Yeah, I'm happy with it. I really recommend it to. Would recommend it to a friend. As someone would say, that's great.
Danielle
That's great. Slurping my medicine ball over here. Pulled by the second.
Brooke
Well, I'll pull up some of these advice things. Unless you have anything else.
Danielle
Yeah, no, I mean, we're gonna share what you guys have to say in terms of advice.
Brooke
We were, like, so excited about this.
Danielle
Yeah. So follow alisongo podcast on Instagram to be a part of the next one. We also share lots of random behind the scenes and fun facts and tidbits and things like that over there.
Brooke
Definitely.
Danielle
It's a worthwhile follow.
Brooke
I will. Yeah. Along with our newsletter, like, sometimes I'm like, some of the content we put in our newsletter, like our substack.
Danielle
Oh.
Brooke
I'm like, I wish we were posting this. And I'm like, no, no. This is for exclusive little followers.
Danielle
Totally. Like, it's free. Completely free. You just have to go a little out of your way to, like, you know, I mean, it takes 20 seconds to sign up for it. Like less than a minute. And substack is the move these days. I feel like every. Every cool person has a substack.
Brooke
No, I feel like that. I feel like that. I definitely feel that way. Like, I love telling people, yeah, we have substack.
Danielle
Yeah. And they're like, oh, what are your thoughts on substack again? You're like, oh, I could debate this stuff.
Brooke
The optimizer. Okay. I love this one. You can do anything for 15 seconds. Once you get through that, you can do more.
Danielle
It's kind of like Mel Robbins. Whatever. Second.
Brooke
Five second.
Danielle
Right?
Brooke
Five second rule. Whatever.
Danielle
I know. That's like, for getting up, right? That's Mel Robbins idea that, like, you know, when your alarm goes off, just go five, four, three, two, one, and do it. But she kind of says that for everything. Like, you know, if you're going on stage, go, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. If you're going, like, like to do anything that, like, he. She said it. I feel like for, like asking someone out, like, go find someone. Just do it. Like it's.
Brooke
It's like that. Or even like I'm. I was talking to someone today about cold plunge. Like cold plunging. Yeah, I do have. I literally have a cold plunge in my apartment building. And it's so amazing for you, is.
Danielle
It just like a big tub?
Brooke
It looks like a hot tub, the one here. But like. Yeah, I feel like a lot of people get the ones that just.
Danielle
I've seen the ones that are literally just like. Like the one at the Aloe Gym. It looks like it's just like a big, like.
Brooke
Oh, yeah.
Danielle
You know.
Brooke
Yeah. I mean, it's just a thing of.
Danielle
Cold water and it's just like 30 something degrees.
Brooke
Yeah. And it just takes those, you know, 15 seconds as this person says to. To just count yourself in, get in there. I mean, this could be the 15 seconds that you're in there. I mean, you're supposed to be in there a little bit longer, but like, you know, just slowly.
Danielle
But then it's like another 15 and another 15.
Brooke
Yeah, I can do another 15.
Danielle
That's so true.
Brooke
So, yeah, you never really know.
Danielle
Yeah, there's a lot of good fitness ones over here. Or this one. Your comfort zone is a beautiful place, but nothing will ever grow there. I mean, that's so.
Brooke
Oh, that's really true. Like, it's so easy. I mean, I Feel like you and I talked about this. Like, like, it's. We're so grateful that we've been doing social media for literally 15 years at this point. Had our podcast for six years. And it's like, we love. It's just so comfortable. But then we're like, wait, we need to challenge ourselves a little bit and.
Danielle
Do, you know, different mediums or.
Brooke
Different mediums, different platforms, different content. Like, yeah, easy. And that's just like an example for us. Oh, I love this. Take a mini vacation every day, AKA do one thing a day that is just meant to make you happy.
Danielle
Happy. I love that.
Brooke
I mean, we love a Treat yourself. I mean, the gals.
Danielle
Totally, totally. We treat ourselves a lot. But I think that's. This especially applies. I've been on like, for some reason, like mom talk on Tick Tock and like, I feel like a lot of like the stay at home moms, like, they're pouring so. Not even just stay at home moms, just moms in general. They pour their whole ass self into these kids and their partner or if they don't have whatever it is. Like, it just feels like they're constantly doing for other people. And you deserve to, like, take that 15 minutes or whatever it is and put on a face mask or.
Brooke
Yeah.
Danielle
Take time to do your hair, your makeup, because it makes you feel good. Like, that is it.
Brooke
That is it. I thought you might have seen this too. I saw this on TikTok. This guy was saying he saw another girl talking about how every day she says that today's gonna be the best day. Did you see this?
Danielle
Yes.
Brooke
Every day is gonna be the best day ever. And you just have to figure out, like, so throughout the rest of the day you're trying to figure out why it's gonna be the best day. So you're just like constantly looking for good things, which I haven't tried it, but I think that's cool too.
Danielle
It's kind of like seeking the positive instead of the negative, which is definitely. I mean, I think we both believe.
Brooke
That, like, you know, 100.
Danielle
When you start the day now negative, it shit's only gonna get worse, you know?
Brooke
Yeah, my day today started negative and then it got a little more negative. But you just have to. I was like, I'm literally. I was like, I'm not letting this happen.
Danielle
There were certain factors outside of your control. In this case, I will say sometimes it's just internal spirals and you're just like, you know, like, you can get yourself out of it. Like, you Know, unfortunately, sometimes you're presented with.
Brooke
Yeah. But then I was like, let me find some silver lining. Yeah. Because I can't do anything about it in this moment. You know, I really like this one. And I, you know, this. Okay. This is everyone's first time at life. Be kind. Like, what makes me cry is when it's like, this is your mom's first time, like, living life too. Like, she's just a girl. And I literally sobbed. I saw one this morning. I was like, you're so right.
Danielle
Like, oh, and you're so happy. But I feel like with the parent stuff like, that I know your parent.
Brooke
Like, your friends too. Like, I mean, it's fun to be, like, you know, gossip and, like, be mad sometimes. But, like, this is everyone's literally first time doing all this, so give. Cut them some slack sometimes.
Danielle
Yeah.
Brooke
But also when it comes to dating, I mean, don't be like, it's his first time living. Like, you know, he didn't open the door for me. It's his first time. Like, okay.
Danielle
No, it's more so like, when you're like, I get it too. Like, my mom is my best friend, and I still, like, want to at her sometimes. Like, and I'm like, I sometimes catch myself. I'm like, it is her first time, right?
Brooke
Yeah.
Danielle
Like, I. I do catch myself or my brother. I mean, I definitely, like, yeah, look, we're all learning.
Brooke
Yes. At the end of the day, we're all learning, and we're all figuring it out. And just, like, a reminder to have compassion in general, I think is really sweet.
Danielle
That's nice. Sometimes it takes an outside perspective. I. I feel like this happened recently, like, where I think, like, Ben was dealing with something, and I was able to, like, kind of literally eavesdrop on the conversation. Be like, hey, you know, like, that happens to me too sometimes. Like, and, like, you know, and, like, provide almost like a sounding board to like, and. Because I want that for myself as well.
Brooke
Yeah.
Danielle
You know what I mean? Like, if I'm, like, dealing with something and bitching and moaning and, like, I would like for him to be. Be like, hey, let me offer you another perspective.
Brooke
Yeah, that's really nice.
Danielle
I know. Good part.
Brooke
When you can, like, hop in and give some advice. Like, do. Do give advice. Oh, this one I saw yesterday. Being stressed about being healthy isn't healthy.
Danielle
Cannot say that enough. I feel like we are taking health to such an extreme level these days. Like, the. That I see that it's, like, microplastic. That's gonna Kill you. Like, whatever. I'm like, that. The stress of being like, I can't have these things because of the container it's in or the. That can't be good for you to be constant, like, letting your brain run and run and run and run. It's gonna be okay. Take a breath.
Brooke
Yeah. Seriously, like, focus on as much as you can. Like, you know, if. If you are passionate about microplastics, like Brooke and I. To Brooke's Christmas gift, she gave me wooden cooking utensils. Like, those little things that you're willing to do. But one thing that Ryan's always on me about, and my brother too, is like, the. You know, we both love, like, the prepackaged meals, like, factors of the world and stuff like that. And I will still do them. But then people are like, oh, but the microplastics. I'm like, but guess what? I'm eating a good meal and I feel good about it, period. So I, like, hate that.
Danielle
Yeah. I think that you do the best you can, and everybody has their different priorities and their different things. That's the thing.
Brooke
I'm.
Danielle
Right.
Brooke
I'm just saying that.
Danielle
No, everybody has different goals. I. I mean, I'll tell a personal anecdote I wrote on my story today. Literally a joke that I said, like, oh, I'm gonna have an. I want to have an invisible waist by summer.
Brooke
I thought that was funny.
Danielle
It's literally like a thing.
Brooke
Yes. Everyone says that.
Danielle
Of course. And someone wrote back, of course. You know, they're like, I, we should not try to be smaller. We should, you know, take up the space you want to take up, like, whatever the space you want to take up.
Brooke
I'm so dead. Let's like, are they not chronically online? Like, we are like, no.
Danielle
And then I had. I said it was a reference, and she was like, oh, my gosh, I'm literally a millennial. I got it.
Brooke
Oh, see?
Danielle
And it made me feel better because, oh, my God, I hope that people didn't read it like that. But at the same time, like, I did write back that I was like, people have, like, different goals with fitness as well. People have different goals with everything. Like, sue me for wanting to work out and, like, get a little. Get a little muscle. Yeah.
Brooke
You know, get a little snatched waist. My God. Yeah, that's really funny. Of course you responded too.
Danielle
No, of course I had to, because I was like. Because a lot of people. Hahaha. This is funny. I was like, thank God it landed. And then I was like, wait, we're gonna shut this down immediately.
Brooke
Yeah. We're not creating a narrative here.
Danielle
Yeah. I thought it was funny. Just goes to show there's different. You know, you do the most, the best you can.
Brooke
Yeah.
Danielle
Oh, I mean, should we just. There's some practical tips here.
Brooke
Yeah. Read it all.
Danielle
Yeah. It's like this. Dry shaving using setting powder has changed my life. I have so many questions on that.
Brooke
Try shaving using setting powder powder. So, like, loose setting powder.
Danielle
Have you seen that thing where you spray your face and it's like. Yeah, I have wondered about that. It's like a face shaving spray sort of deal.
Brooke
You can, like, see your, like, peach fuzz.
Danielle
Yep.
Brooke
And you can shave it with it.
Danielle
Yeah. Or giving up alcohol will level up every aspect of your life. That's.
Brooke
That's good.
Danielle
You know, if you've been considering quitting, maybe that's your sign. Yeah.
Brooke
What's meant for you will find you. There are no wrong terms turns. That's really cool. Like, obviously, we've always heard what's meant for you will find you. But I've never heard the no wrong turns part. Like, you think, oh, like, if I hadn't done that, then this wouldn't have happened. But, like, that was the right turn at that moment. You had to put on your turning signal and go that way.
Danielle
Yeah. And what's that phrase? It's your two right turns makes a left. Is that. Who am I making that up?
Brooke
There is a saying like that. I don't know exactly.
Danielle
It's. It kind of is like, it's like, okay, sometimes like, you're your. Your turns. Like it might take you a longer direction or like you might end up. But you. You end up in the right place. Yeah.
Brooke
Yes. 100.
Danielle
Oh, yeah.
Brooke
Cause I guess if you go right, you go right, then you're eventually, like, headed left.
Danielle
I think it is. I can do it. Ants. Talking about right turns. Right turns. Makes. I think so. Because if we think about it, turn right. Turn right.
Brooke
Yeah, I think 100.
Danielle
Yeah. You guys know Danielle and I love the good things in life. We love some luxury moments. But it doesn't always mean that it's, like, justified. Like, sometimes I'm like, oh, you know, that's a little expensive. But Quint. Quince is the hack here. Quince is my go to. For luxury essentials at affordable prices. Quint offers a range of high quality items at prices that are within reach. They have 100 Mongolian cashmere sweaters from $50 washable silk tops and dresses, and 14 karat gold jewelry. The best part is that everything on quints are priced 50 to 80% less than similar brand brands. Now I was like, this seems too good to be true. Basically, they partner directly with the top factory. So Quince is cutting out that middleman and passing the savings onto us. And Quince only works with factories that use safe, ethical and responsible manufacturing practices and premium fabrics and finishes. So I love my quince items. I feel like I'm building almost like a capsule wardrobe kind of with my quince items. I have a bunch of the sweaters. I have some great dresses. I really like their washable silk. I have like a really nice button down. And actually my bedding is from Qu. I have a really nice like duvet cover that's from them. And it's just so lux. You get that luxe look, but you're paying a fraction of the price. But you also don't have to sacrifice the quality. Give yourself the luxury you deserve with quints. Go to quint.comgals for free shipping on your order and 365 day returns. That's Q-U-I-N-C-E.comgals to get free shipping and 365 day returns. Danielle
I know, I told, I take that too far. That's the thing is like, I'm like, I'm not, sometimes I feel like I shut out the opinions too much.
Brooke
Yeah.
Danielle
I need to open them up a little bit more. But then I'm like, I want to make sure that you're someone that I would value for advice in like life.
Brooke
Yeah.
Danielle
You know what I mean? Like, versus just reading a comment with a no name profile.
Brooke
Yeah. It's like, well, what do you know exactly? Like wherever your name is.
Danielle
But if you're like, you know, a business like Sarah Blakely from Spanx, someone that I greatly admire and look up to, like, tell me what I'm doing wrong.
Brooke
Like, yeah, no, it's so true. I feel like when you go to certain people, like, you should go to certain people for opinions that you want, like for advice based, based off of their professions. You know, just work smarter, not harder.
Danielle
Yeah.
Brooke
Right.
Danielle
So true. I mean, we know this one comparison is the thief of all joy. Such a good one, especially for girls online. I, when I tell you it is so true. I, I, I especially feel this around big life moments, you know, people's big celebrations and things which, you know, you should be so, and I am so happy for them. I truly, like, I can separate like my feelings with of like jealousy and truly be happy for them. But I can compare myself at the same time as being happy for them. Yeah. You know what I mean? If I see, oh my gosh, this person had a huge birthday party and oh my gosh, look at all their friends. Or oh, they, you know, their relationship. Oh my gosh, they, I followed this girl recently and like her boyfriend just gets her like a Chanel bag every week for no reason. And I sitting here watching it like, oh my God, is that the baseline standard? I'm like, no, that's not the fucking baseline standard. Like, let's be so for real.
Brooke
Like, that's from. We've had people in our life be like, oh, yeah, they got me this Chanel bag. And then they literally break up a month later.
Danielle
Yeah. And he actually cheats on me every week.
Brooke
Yeah.
Danielle
Yeah.
Brooke
But they're like, okay with it. Or, you know, not that, not that.
Danielle
It has to be that way. I know.
Brooke
If not, you don't know what's going on 100%. You do not Know what's going on. And, like, it's so, so easy to compare. And then you're just sad. Whereas you kind of have to use that comparison to fuel you to be the better you. And, like, like, put love into whatever you're doing.
Danielle
For sure. No, I was literally about to like, make a tik tok about that the other day, being, like. Because I just felt like I saw so much about really extravagant gifts and, like, craziness, and I was gonna literally, like, be like. Like, that's love, but this is also love. And, like, show, like, my cute little notes that my boyfriend leaves me, like, before he leaves, like, for work or, you know, the flowers that he's randomly got me. But, like, nothing extravagant, nothing huge. No jaw dropping reveal. But, like, love can appear in multiple different ways. And, like, you know, you don't.
Brooke
We were just talking about it. I mean, I didn't even share what Ryan got me for Valentine's Day, but it was, like, something so practical. Like, I can't even explain. I'm not. Yeah, but it's something he made for me. Like, he literally made it with his own.
Danielle
That makes me want to cry that it's enough.
Brooke
And it's like. And it's something like, I. We're so grateful that we can go buy anything. And he, like, made something that makes my life so much easier, and it was so sweet. But then, like, at first, you're like, oh, my gosh. Like, well, this person got, you know.
Danielle
A pair of Chanel flats.
Brooke
A pair of Chanel flats.
Danielle
Get a pair of Chanel flats or something. Like, literally, I'm like, oh, my God.
Brooke
Yeah. Just like. But that's not your relationship, and that's not totally.
Danielle
And not to say that it does.
Brooke
Leave a cute little note.
Danielle
That's what I'm saying. Like, loved can take very many different forms, you know? Like, it's not that one's right and one's wrong at all.
Brooke
Yeah, definitely not. Little tangent.
Danielle
Yeah, just going off. That's okay. Go to therapy before you feel like you, quote, need it. Could not agree.
Brooke
Yes. Oh, my God. Like, you think. And I think so many people think they can only go to therapy when they, like, hit rock bottom or something.
Danielle
Because it's such a thing. Like, you say you're in therapy, they're like, what for? Like, wait, what? I'm like, no, I'm good. I'm. Yeah, I'm, like, good.
Brooke
My family's good to, like, gossip with once a week. Like, it's incredible.
Danielle
Totally.
Brooke
Like, someone's so not in your life. And. And if you start to feel, like, feelings, like, like, I was out of therapy for so long because my therapy. My therapist retracted. Tired. So sad. And I was like, I need to hop back on the train because I'm starting to have all just these thoughts and, like, overwhelming. And then you can talk to someone about it, nothing crazy, because it's quite.
Danielle
Literally their job to listen.
Brooke
I do not ask her about her life.
Danielle
Me neither.
Brooke
I like, you know, you first think, oh, I should, like, you say, how are you?
Danielle
Of course. Oh, how's your weekend? Oh, good. Anyways, so.
Brooke
But we're paying top dollar for, like, you know, to talk to them. Them. And they need to give us advice. And it's not like they. And if they sort of talk about themselves, then that's maybe not the therapist for you.
Danielle
Yeah.
Brooke
Like, I think it's really. I mean, and Brooke and I are both, like, always, like, how are you? How are you? But with therapy, it's amazing. You really don't have to do that.
Danielle
45 minutes to be like, let me tell you about me.
Brooke
Yep. Oh. Kind of going back to comparison there. We got a few, like, longer ones that screenshot it. And someone said when I was making my vision board for 2025, I found a quote that says, stop comparing yourself to other others. Flowers are beautiful, but so are sunsets, and they look nothing alike.
Danielle
Oh, I love that.
Brooke
Like, I just got the chills.
Danielle
So flowers are beautiful, sunsets are beautiful.
Brooke
Notes are beautiful, Dogs are beautiful. LA flats are beautiful.
Danielle
But, yeah, it's all beautiful. But it does. Yes. One doesn't necessarily outweigh the other because how could you measure them against each other?
Brooke
Like, flowers and sunsets could not be more different.
Danielle
Totally.
Brooke
Isn't that so cool?
Danielle
That is great.
Brooke
So thank you to this person for sending that in.
Danielle
Yep.
Brooke
I have another.
Danielle
Oh. Firm believer in picking and choosing your battles. Not all is worth your time or energy. Yeah.
Brooke
I've learned this recently.
Danielle
Yeah. And now it's like a fine line because it's like you want to speak up for yourself, like, whatever. But there definitely are times when I'm like, you know, I weigh the pros and the con. My brain before I speak. I feel like it's more so just like, internal, internally processing things before you.
Brooke
Yeah.
Danielle
Bring it to the forefront.
Brooke
No, of course. Or just, like, literally anything. Like, if you're texting with someone or you're on the phone or you're in person, it's like, I could be so rash right now and, like, Say this or like, let me think about it. Because often like I just speak and I'm like, oh my God, no, I'm literally wrong. Like, or whatever.
Danielle
Change your opinion. Yeah, you're my opinion literally every second.
Brooke
And I respect people that do that. I think it's really great like to be able to say like, you know what? I said this, but I changed my mind. I was wrong. And I think other people appreciate that too.
Danielle
Totally. I mean, we're not the same person we were like in the last episode. It would let alone like six years ago. I mean, we used to have such like firm opinions on things that we are not firm opinion of anymore.
Brooke
Not at all.
Danielle
Not at all.
Brooke
This one's about aging. People need to stop with the whole getting old sucks thing. Aging is amazing and it's proof our bodies and us as humans are able to go through change. I turned 30 last year and I'm living life as it's my best life because that's how it always should be, no matter what, where age, phase in life, etc. This goes with the whole timeline crap society puts on us too. I could honestly yap for hours on this.
Danielle
I love it. Also, I don't think the 30 is even age. Like, I think that's like the problem is that people are like, we're thinking aging. I'm like, oh my God. But you know, and we do it too.
Brooke
It's like, oh yeah, I'm 26, I'm 20.
Danielle
It's like so objectively not though. Like, you know what I mean?
Brooke
I know.
Danielle
I do agree that they're wiser than 20.
Brooke
Yeah. Or like Mel Robbins, how old was she when she literally like turned her life around and turned her life older? Like 40s, 50s?
Danielle
I think she turned her life around at like 40 and she became successful at like 45. Like that period.
Brooke
Crazy. Like, it's not like you have to do everything in your 20s. And it's a really good reminder that like life is like, there's so many fun periods of life. Like, that's why I feel like we always say, like, I am so excited to have children, but I can wait. And that's going to be really nut. Another really fun time. And when that comes, we'll lean into that. And that's so exciting. It's like the beauty of aging and like doing different things.
Danielle
No, you're so right. I feel like people are off always ask us what's next in our life, in our relationship. And my biggest thing right now is just that I'm. I Feel very, like, at peace. I feel very at peace, but also not. I. I don't have to make any big decisions right now. Like, I feel, you know, and I'm like, that's a privilege, like, to feel like that. And I feel like as you get older, to feel that privilege. Privilege of, you know, feeling conf. More confident in yourself and just.
Brooke
Yeah, you feel more confident in yourself the older you get, which I think is really cool.
Danielle
I know it's like, I hate the. Like, aging is beautiful, but, like, it really. It's. Aging is a privilege. I feel like it's a privilege.
Brooke
The better word to say. I mean, it's also beautiful.
Danielle
It is beautiful, but that just feels corny to me. It's a privilege. And that. It. It is amazing that, you know, you're able to get wise and. And get. Just experience more life.
Brooke
Like. Yeah. Like, I. You know, whenever you get down on yourself about aging, think about, like, some people lose their lives at our age. And it's the saddest thing. And I feel like we. It's a reminder to us, like, wow, I need to live my life as I want it. Because you never know. Like, not. I literally hate talking about death. It's the saddest thing I know.
Danielle
I feel like you hate talking about.
Brooke
I hate talking about death, but, like, that's another one. Or.
Danielle
No, I. I don't like it, but it does, like, doesn't, like, trigger you the conversation. I'm not like, let's not talk about it. Like, okay. Like, it's inevitable. Like, it is. I mean, it freaks me out to some extent, but at the same time, in the way that people do die younger, I'm like, let's talk about it then. Because it's like, oh, like, not that we're going to die or like, no, but it's important. I feel like I'm coming to terms with it. That sounds like I want to die. I don't want to die.
Brooke
No, I know exactly what you mean.
Danielle
No, I'm less scared of it. I feel like when I used to watch movies and people die, I'd be like, oh, my God, died. Like, that's so scary.
Brooke
Yeah, but so remind.
Danielle
Enjoying every day. Like, living life to the fullest is more so.
Brooke
Yeah, but, like, keep in mind that death is there, so you should enjoy it. I know what you mean. That's what you mean.
Danielle
Literally. Sometimes I'm like, oh, like, I don't want to do this thing. Or, like, whatever, maybe I shouldn't. I'm like, literally, we're all going to die and all on a floating rocks. Like, I should just do it.
Brooke
I know. That also freaks me out, talking about, like, the fact that we're on a floating rock planet. Like, and what's really crazy is the fact that the universe is, like, infinite. Like, no, there's no wall mall. There's no, like, white room. You open up the door and it's like, oh, this is where it's crazy to me. That's what, like, death and, like, the idea of the universe is, like, my freakiest thing to talk about.
Danielle
Yeah, yeah. Death and tax taxes, too. Happy tax season, everybody.
Brooke
Happy tax.
Danielle
Oh. Your body will reject anything that isn't good for you, whether it be life, love, or fitness. I've heard this. Have you heard about, like, the people that date someone bad and they're like, I got this crazy rat.
Brooke
Yes. And I actually believe it.
Danielle
Yeah.
Brooke
Or like, even, like. Like, yeah, like someone's having sex with someone and like, they, like, get, like, a crazy thing. It's, like, not meant to be with that person. Like, stuff like that.
Danielle
Totally. Yeah. Or you have, like, literally, like, stomach issues you've never had before because you started, like, you know, a job or something, and you're like, oh, this is weird.
Brooke
I totally believe it. It's like your body's reacting to it, and as soon as you get rid of the problem, it's like, oh, that just went away. I mean, most of the time. Not always, but of course.
Danielle
No, you have to believe it because.
Brooke
It'S like, you have to know.
Danielle
It's, you know. Oh, I love this one. If it won't bother you in five years, allow yourself five minutes to be upset, then move forward.
Brooke
Wow. If it won't bother you in five.
Danielle
Years, I'm trying to think of, like, a good example because it's, like, hard. I mean, for me, I could relate this back to, like, school and, like, when I would do poorly in school or, like, you know, something didn't go to plan and I would beat myself up about it. I feel like I'd be like, oh, I did bad on the test. Like, whatever.
Brooke
Yeah.
Danielle
You know, I was like, I don't even know what test I took at this point.
Brooke
Like, I were really hard on yourself.
Danielle
Yeah.
Brooke
Or with, like, a random guy or, like, eating or.
Danielle
I mean, literally, when I filmed my. It, like, so, so stupid and so random. But when I filmed my empty apartment tour of the place that I bought and, like, remember, I worked with a new video, it was like, it was a flop. I mean, no, the video sucked. I'm going to say it. Like, it just wasn't what I wanted. I mean, I mean, it just. But I didn't communicate really. The best.
Brooke
Yeah.
Danielle
They're like, I just thought that everybody kind of knows what. So I can blame myself for it too, but I feel like I beat myself up about that for multiple days, and now I'm like, oh, that happened. Like, it looked like it doesn't even phase.
Brooke
You still live in the apartment.
Danielle
Everything was good.
Brooke
Yes, but that's. That is a really good example. No, there's definitely certain things where it's like, this literally will not affect you in five years, and it just feels like the end of the world.
Danielle
Totally. Like, I'm not gonna let it ruin a week of my life when it's like, it already happened, it's over. Like.
Brooke
Yeah. I feel like stuff that, like, I love to ruminate on things. I feel like you do, too.
Danielle
Yeah.
Brooke
Sometimes. And it's fun. Like, sometimes you want to vet. You know those tick tocks where it's like, you call your best friend to talk about the same for, like, sometimes. Totally.
Danielle
Sometimes that's heartache.
Brooke
But sometimes it just can be so unhealthy. And then you hold grudges about a situation or something that happened to you and it's just not serving you in the slightest. So that's.
Danielle
Yeah. Yeah.
Brooke
I really like that one. Oh, my. Lots of good advice today, you girlies. Thanks for submitting. I really like doing stuff like this.
Danielle
It's.
Brooke
Everyone's got their stuff. Stuff.
Danielle
This is like. Some people say that this is like the toxic advice. This is another thing about me. I've said this before, Danielle, that I love to follow people that yell at me.
Brooke
Yeah.
Danielle
Love to follow people that up me off your ass. Because no one's yelling at me in this life anymore. Like, even, you know, we work with people. No one's yelling.
Brooke
No one can. Like, it's like, if Ben started yelling at you, you'd be like, the f.
Danielle
What is going on? No, I need someone who, like, does. They're not actually speaking to me directly. They're speaking to, like, the audience generally.
Brooke
Yeah.
Danielle
They're like, hey, like a Gary Vee type. Like, that's why I always loved Gary Vee, because I was like, you're so right. Like, honestly.
Brooke
Who, Ed Mylette?
Danielle
Yes. Or. And that's why Mel Robbins kind of fits that bucket too.
Brooke
Yeah.
Danielle
Because she's definitely Harsh Truth. There's another girl they found on Tick Tock. Mina, Mina, Lizi. I think is her.
Brooke
I followed her after you told me I love her.
Danielle
But people get mad because they're like, this is toxic. This is whatever. And it's like, she's like, this is just my message. Like, and, and I love people that are so authentic like, that. They're like, look, this is my message. Take it or leave it.
Brooke
Yeah. It's not like you have to take the advice thing.
Danielle
Like, she, she's like, hey, I have a message because these principles made my life better. And like, maybe they'd make your life better too. Like, you know, they don't necessarily have to.
Brooke
It's crazy. Like, even when people come across, like, I'm just heated. Like when people come across our TikTok clips and they don't agree with what we're saying, they like leave a comment. Like, I don't know if I've ever watched something and been like, I don't agree with this. I'm gonna let them know I, I know.
Danielle
No, I don't think so. Unless they're harm, like doing something to one of our friends. Oh, yeah. But. But if it's just their message that they're putting out into the void, block, delete. Not even. Just keep scrolling.
Brooke
Yeah, just like, I don't care.
Danielle
Swipe.
Brooke
Like, that's not like, exactly. So many people on this earth with such different opinions, like, why like. Or just like separate. Like, oh my God.
Danielle
Not meant to agree with all of them at all.
Brooke
You are not meant.
Danielle
But this kind of agrees. It goes along with her message. It's choose your hard. It's hard to be productive and get you done, but it's also hard to be lazy.
Brooke
Oh, is that what she says? This is. Oh, someone said that.
Danielle
Well, someone said that. But this is, this is just choose.
Brooke
Your hard, choose your heart.
Danielle
Like it's. Yes, it is hard to get up and it's hard to work out every day. That's why I go months and not do it. But it's also hard to like, not be comfortable in your body and like.
Brooke
Yeah.
Danielle
And. Or like, not feel good. You know, not feel good. Like, yeah, yes, more so like that.
Brooke
Choose your hard.
Danielle
Yeah. And you could say it even with like school or work related things. Like you could be upset with yourself and like, be like, oh my gosh, you know, I, I should have studied harder. Or you could just study harder. Like, I feel like there's. That's so there's obviously a lot of gray area in between. But like, you get the, the general message of this.
Brooke
Is there someone Said, it's not that deep.
Danielle
Literally.
Brooke
It goes right back to that. It's literally not that deep.
Danielle

Now she's going to be like, well, there is no fireplace and we're in.
Danielle
This hotel and I'm gonna have to explain her. I don't know.
Brooke
He gets a hotel room key. Like all these things that you have.

If people want to be in your life, they will be. Don't chase. I learned that when I, like, first moved here. I feel like when I was trying to, like, figure out who all my friends were, and I was like, I have tried to reach out to this person. Why am I trying? They're literally giving me nothing.
Danielle
That's the thing. Like, it's. And I. That's the hard thing about adult friendships, I feel like, is finding those people that are willing to go, like, 50. 50 with. Yeah. Someone said your relationships are 100. 100, not 50. 50. I kind of disagree with that, but I do, too.
Brooke
I was really confused by that. More so I was just confused, like.
Danielle
Like, because you're supposed to always give everything, but I actually don't think that we have the capacity to always give everything. In fact, sometimes I give 20. I'm going to be honest. Sometimes I give 80. I guess.
Brooke
Like, I feel like it fluctuates 100%. There are days where I'm like, I literally. I can't even speak right now. I'm, like, so unsocial. Like, I'm sorry. Like, I. Yeah. Or other days where it's like, some. One of them's having a good day, the other person's having a bad day. Like, you can't totally. That doesn't feel. But I'm. I'd be curious on what they mean by this, because I feel like maybe we're just reading into it wrong.
Danielle
I think that it just means don't give half. Like, because it's supposed to be like, oh, where I drop the slack. You pick up the slack. And it's supposed to be like, both of you kind of like, right. Doing. Not. I don't want to say doing everything.
Brooke
But, like, oh, like, if you do something, then they don't do that at all. They're doing something else.
Danielle
Yeah. Or.
Brooke
Oh, yeah, I see.
Danielle
But I think that relationship friendship as well, is a team effort.
Brooke
Right.
Danielle
Like, and it's a team effort, and it's always uneven.
Brooke
I mean, that's our friendship. There are certain things that I'm not good at that you do, like, in our business or vice versa or just, like, friendships or, like, there's days where we're at a social event and, like, Brooke knows I'm, like, so not talkative that day. She picks up the cup.
Danielle
Totally. Danielle's like, brooke, we have to film this video now. Or Else. Oh my God, you're so right.
Brooke
We do so. Yeah. I think. Think I'd be curious what they, you know, maybe that is what they mean. But I guess we humbly agree. Disagree with that.
Danielle
Yeah. I think it's normal to fluctuate in every relationship.
Brooke
Yeah. Everything. Oh my God, this is so funny. Everything in moderation. Even moderation in moderation. I don't know exactly what that means.
Danielle
Okay, I think I get it. Okay, please. I'm talking everything in moderation. So it's like, you know, you could have your piece of chocolate every. Every day. That's moderation. Yeah. Then even your piece of chocolate every day. Maybe not every day because like me even every day.
Brooke
No, that's what I took.
Danielle
That's how I would break it down. Maybe it's like, you know, oh, you could have. You could of course have your ice cream. It's moderation. But like maybe once a week.
Brooke
Yeah.
Danielle
Maybe not every night. Like.
Brooke
Yeah, it's like. Because then it like adds. Yeah, no, that definitely makes sense because I feel like I do that sometimes. Like, even like when it comes to treating yourself like coffee. Get my coffee out every day. Because that's my one thing. Okay, well then you also have that other thing, Danielle, that you also do every day. So it's like, gotta find some moderation here. Yeah, Stuff like that. Okay, that makes sense.
Danielle
You're so right.
Brooke
Don't cross that bridge until you get to it. That's literally.
Danielle
It's therapy 101. I feel like it's like.
Brooke
It's so true. It's so easy to stress about a situation that's like, you know, know, happening next year like you were talking about. Yeah.
Danielle
Happen next year. Yes, yes. Situations in the future. And that's why I feel comfortable now. But like, I just know in my future, in my near future, there's going to be big. Yeah.
Brooke
But nothing literally. Yes.
Danielle
Like, situation that I have to deal with next year.
Brooke
Yes.
Danielle
That I just know. And it's like a good thing. But it's. It's just coming next year. But why would I stress out about it now?
Brooke
Oh, yeah. And now I'm finding out about a situation that I have to deal with later this year that I will talk about later. And now I don't know what to do. But it's like at this point in time, my you. I can't do anything about it.
Danielle
And it's hard. That let go is definitely tough.
Brooke
Yeah.
Danielle
For. For over thinkers and people who want, you know, a plan and stuff.
Brooke
But don't worry. We always keep you guys updated, obviously.
Danielle
Totally. No, I could so be like that too, with my friends that they're starting to plan, like, you know, bachelorettes and things. Like. And I'm like, guys, we gotta get the ball rolling. And I'm like, ultimately, let them. Like, it's not my day. It's not my, like. And I'm trying to be helpful, but at the same time, I feel like a nosy little. Like, that's like, yeah, come on, guys, let's get the ball moving. And. And it's like, it's. There's only to a certain extent that I could do.
Brooke
Yes. You know, can provide your services up until you can't anymore. I have that happen with a friend recently for something, and I was trying to help her play, and I was like, she clearly doesn't, like, let me just let her do it because this is not my ball game.
Danielle
Yeah.
Brooke
And ended up being fine.
Danielle
But it always ends up being fine.
Brooke
It literally always ends.
Danielle
Every. I think that's the message is like, hey, just wait. It's going to be fine.
Brooke
Or even for, like. Like, our live shows, which we really love doing so much. Like, sometimes I get nervous before the shows. I don't know why, but it's okay. Thanks to Paige desorbo, I got beta blockers. I don't even know if I talked about that.
Danielle
I don't think you have.
Brooke
I got beta blockers. I took them a few recently and they're really great for before shows. Kind of calms the heart rate down. Brooke even noticed when we. Which. Which city were we? Oh, go. Yeah, we were getting ready. Chicago, and I was, like, chilling, dancing.
Danielle
You started, like, dancing, and you were, like, literally, like, on the couch, like, chilling with a smirk on your face.
Brooke
Yeah.
Danielle
Like, you took your. Like, it literally was like you smoked weed. Yeah, I was like, you took your man. Yeah, I feel good.
Brooke
Yeah, it just, like, comes. I don't know, ever since Paige and Sorbo talked about it because she started getting them for live shows. And I talked to my doctor about it, and she was like, we can definitely prescribe you that. I was like, oh, hell yeah. So I don't take them every day or anything, but I don't know why I brought beta blockers up. Oh, live shows, like, we can get so worked up. Like, oh, my gosh, we need to make sure this happens. This happens.
Danielle
Yes.
Brooke
Like, we. We literally hired an amazing team that takes care of everything. They're so great.
Danielle
Like, everything's been fine before. We have no evidence that proves that it's not going to be okay.
Brooke
No. Like this tour, like literally, knock on wood. Nothing's gone wrong.
Danielle
Just the date changes.
Brooke
The date changes? Yes.
Danielle
But nothing like it's not like inevitable.
Brooke
We didn't know those were going to happen.
Danielle
Totally. So the nothing on the on show day.
Brooke
Nothing on the on show day. And then we get off stage every time and we're like, hell yeah.
Danielle
That was awesome.
Brooke
So fun.
Danielle
Yeah. So fun.
Brooke
The crowd was amazing. Like, but it's so easy to get worked up about something's like totally crossed out bridge when you get to it. Girlfriend.
Danielle
You're so right. And you also don't even know what like it's almost like when it's so far on the horizon, you don't even know what the bridge is going to look like. Like you're. You're picturing an entirely different bridge.
Brooke
It could be a drawbridge.
Danielle
Yeah.
Brooke
The Golden Gate Bridge. Like you literally don't know.
Danielle
It could be any type of bridge. How about we will do a few more of them?
Brooke
We'll end off.
Danielle
Because I. These are great. You guys are fantastic.
Brooke
I know.
Danielle
Truly.
Brooke
More long ones too.
Danielle
Truly.
Brooke
I really appreciate you guys like being open.
Danielle
The five minute one was really good though. Like, don't.
Brooke
Right. Yeah, I really liked that one too.
Danielle
Keep your heart soft. I. E. Open. It's so easy to be hard and put walls up. I. I feel that especially living in New York City. I feel like I've gotten a lot. I really want to work on that because I notice it when I travel to other cities. Just like people are nice people. It doesn't even have to be in a romantic way. Like just generally.
Brooke
Just Ubers.
Danielle
Yes. Just being softer.
Brooke
Yeah. It's really easy to kind of tense up and just like immediately have your guard up and think.
Danielle
I always think I. I've been bad at assuming the worst.
Brooke
Yeah.
Danielle
Of people. Not like friends and family, but like when I'm out in the world and whatever. And like I could be very like they're trying to do something. Something for me. And it's like now they're literally just doing pass by on the street.
Brooke
Walking. Yeah, it is. No, it's. I think living in New York City does that to you.
Danielle
Yeah. You get very tense.
Brooke
Yes.
Danielle
Yes.
Brooke
So I need to like relax, soften up a little.
Danielle
Yeah.
Brooke
Michelle. Yeah.
Danielle
Yeah, yeah.
Brooke
I'm letting.
Danielle
What? Is it not? Yes, of course. No, these are great. It's all a lot of like nothing is that serious, you know?
Brooke
I know.
Danielle
Like, it really so is. Yeah, your attitude can make or break how you view your life. That is the same thing when you're hard, intense, like, you're not going to see the good in the world. But when you're, like, soft and open, like, I feel like you see the random act of kindness that these strangers are doing.
Brooke
And also, I love that none of these really had to do with dating. Isn't that crazy?
Danielle
Yeah.
Brooke
Everyone's on their girl boss right now. I actually do have one dating anecdote I'd love to share.
Danielle
Please, let's do it.
Brooke
I was talking to one of my guy friends recently, and we were talking about just, like, the. I mean, I've been out of the game for literally so long. But, like, a lot of my friends are dating. Whatever. A lot of our friends are dating. The etiquette on, like, when a guy asks you on a date, you go on the date and then, like, who texts first after the date?
Danielle
Yes.
Brooke
Like, what do you think should happen?
Danielle
I. I could see it both ways. Like, I feel like it depends how you leave the conversation, because I feel like sometimes the guy will say, let me know when you get home safe.
Brooke
Yeah, true. And so you're like, okay, I'll text you.
Danielle
Oh, of course. Yeah. But even so, I still think you could say thank you in the morning if they paid. Not that you owe them that, but if you're trying to start the convo back, I think that's a natural segue. Yep, I think that. But I would like the guy to text first, but I don't. I think I texted Ben first. So, like. Like, I. I broke every rule. I broke. There are rules. I broke every rule.
Brooke
So I'm just real. Oh, I told. I mean, I said I love you first to Ryan. Like, I have broken rules, too. And he was talking. And then one of my other friends was talking about this too. Like, guys often are the ones. This is just from the guy's perspective that I just hadn't heard before, and I thought I would share. For girls that are.
Danielle
I love it.
Brooke
Dating. This guy was like, I literally asked her on the date. I paid for the date. Like, why can't she text me the next day? Like, I want to know that there's some interest back, too.
Danielle
Oh, he. Like, more for affirmation purpose.
Brooke
Yeah.
Danielle
Like, yeah.
Brooke
And to thank. And he was like, I think, like, even if you say thank you in person, which I feel like you should say if they do.
Danielle
I think it's a natural thing.
Brooke
Yeah, obviously say thank you. But he was Saying it's nice to also get a thank you text. And I was like, even if they said in person, he was like, yeah, I think that's a really easy transition, like, the next day to say thank you. And I was like, this is so interesting. I'm telling all my friends because. And it's so fair to be like, no, I want him to pursue me. I want him to text me. But just food for thought. This is a very cool, charming guy that I feel like he knows what he's like. I. I valued his opinion.
Danielle
Yes. Like, he's someone that you'd want to set a friend up with. Like, he. For sure. Yes. Which is a big thing. Like, which is a big deal. I know. I have a. I have, like, a handful of people that can, like, confidently say, like, you're something. I want to. I want to find someone good for you. Yeah. I have, like, maybe five guys and five girls. They're not.
Brooke
You definitely have some girls that I know that you feel so passionate.
Danielle
I feel so passionate. Yeah. And I'm, like, working on it, you.
Brooke
Know, I am determined for you to have the best life ever.
Danielle
No, totally. But that's what I see, what you're saying. Like, you respect this person's opinion.
Brooke
Yes, I do. And I just thought it was so interesting. And my other friend's brother, like, gave her the advice, like, dude, like, he wants to know, too, if you liked him. This isn't to say, like. Or, like, if you've gone on multiple dates with a guy and every single time he's texted you first, and then maybe after the third date, he doesn't text you first. Like, at one point, you should text him. Totally.
Danielle
Like, what's the harm in doing?
Brooke
Yeah, seriously.
Danielle
So maybe the message. The message there is. The message is to not be so in your own head or, like, focused on, like, it has to be this way or it's not that deep. And what's the harm? Okay. You text him and you say, thank, he's.
Brooke
I mean, he should respond to that.
Danielle
And if he doesn't, then there's your answer right there.
Brooke
Yeah. Because think about it. If, like, you're standing next to someone in person. Person. Every single time you're standing next to this person, they shouldn't be the one starting the conversation every time. So think about it with texting. Like, I don't know. I thought that was such an unlock and just a reminder to girls. But also, like, if you don't feel the need to text them, don't. But, like, if you're want. If you're sitting there deleting it and typing it, like, just send the text like it's a text. Lay it up. Please soften your heart.
Danielle
Yes. It's not. It's literally not that deep. I feel like it used. Like, I used to be so in my head about, like, concocting the purpose. Perfect messages are like, oh, like, I saw a funny meme that I want to send him. Like, should I send it to him? Should I not? It's like, literally, once again.
Brooke
And if they're right for you, they'll love the meme. Like, yeah, perfect example. It's like, if it's something that you guys had talked about or if it's something funny and you want to see our reacts, like, that's the perfect thing to do. I don't know. I literally been out of the game for literally six years, but I just felt.
Danielle
I don't know. I feel like a lot of your single friends, like, come to you, though, and they're like, should I text him?
Brooke
Yeah, I'm. I even, like, before I met Ryan, like, I was always like, I don't care. I'll text him. Like, I just. Like, I have never. Yeah, but I know, like, there's so many podcasts now and rules. Like, I feel like social media.
Danielle
You can't. You have to. My. You have to develop your own personal rules. Like, that's the thing. Like, just because they're, like, someone else's. And like, I listen to a lot of dating podcasts. I listen to a lot. Like, and, you know, I agree with 50 of what they say. I disagree with the other 50. So you have to make your own personal.
Brooke
Your concoction. I love it. Your formula for dating that's.
Danielle
We could end on someone said, had all these people, like, you know, asking for advice or giving advice. Just remember, the only person who really knows the answer to the advice is you. It's true.
Brooke
Because you're the one who's gonna act on it. They can't do anything.
Danielle
And someone could. It's like, you know when your parents tell you to do something or, like, not do something, you're like, now I want to do the opposite.
Brooke
Like, yeah, you're like, now I don't want to do that. It's so true. Or like, if you ask someone's advice on outfits, like, half the time it's like, well, I actually don't want to wear that one. Like, I actually want to wear the other one.
Danielle
Exactly.
Brooke
At the end of the day, it's you know it's for you. I love that. Yeah, I really love this episode. I'd love to do more episodes in this nature. So always let us know what you guys want to hear. And that's our message. That's our message.
