February 24th 2026, marks four years since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine — a war many expected to last days, not years. Instead, Europe has witnessed one of the most destructive conflicts since 1945. Entire cities have been flattened. Hundreds of thousands have been killed, millions displaced. What began with a failed dash on Kyiv has hardened into an 800-mile fortified front line defined by attrition, drones, artillery and endurance. Bangladesh goes to the polls on 12th February, 18 months after the overthrow of the long term leader Sheikh Hasina. After 3 weeks, protests have now spread across Iran as the regime gears up to celebrate its 47th anniversary. With its regional proxies in retreat and Iranians on the streets demanding regime change this has now become the biggest test of the clerical regime. Is this the beginning of the end?
