Ang
Where's your Stanley?
Ari
So foreign of me.
Ang
There's. I need to confess something. I. I was making fun of you behind your back to myself, but making fun of you every time that you were attached to your Stanley when like you were like, you were like emotionally attached to your Stanley and I was like.
Ari
Did you ever see me talking to it?
Ang
No. No. And I'm glad that I didn't.
Ari
Maybe that's not a confession to say. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. We're filming. Yeah, she's just kidding. Yeah, I'm just kidding. Hey, how do you get through your singleness season?
Ang
She sleeps with her Stanley. She talks to her Stanley.
Ari
One thing. My Stanley.
Ang
Yeah. No, but I was like, kind of like, like, you know, judging you in my head. And then I got a hydro flask and whole life changed. Don't know what I do without it.
Ari
I'm telling you, give it a. Give it a month. You're going to start to bond with.
Ang
It and you start.
Ari
You, you're going to give it a name and next thing you know you're going to be putting it in a blanket in bed with you.
Ang
She's just kidding about that.
Ari
She's not doing that. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. Let's.
Ang
All right, my friends. I mean, it's fine.
Ari
I mean, I'm. I'm not lo.
Ang
Can you imagine John getting jealous of my Stanley? You know, those, you know, those things. What? Why? I. You know what I have in my head all day today? Wait, wait, wait. Wait, you know, do you guys know the stop lights? Like, we all know them. The stop thing, you press it so that it goes green and then it goes. Wait, wait, wait.
Ari
Like, why is it so. That is. I wish they would choose. I wish I could be that voice.
Ang
It's so. Yeah, we just have Ari's voice across America.
Ari
Wait, it depends on what mood I'm in.
Ang
Yes. Yeah, I have that in my head all day. Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. Like, it's so weird. Why does it do that?
Ari
I can't wink. Can you tell me if I can. Hold on.
Ang
If I try to, like, actually wink at someone, I'll accidentally do both and.
Ari
Oh, I know you do.
Ang
Like, you're being very rude today.
Ari
Oh, that was good. Hold on. Sorry.
Ang
Hang on. Sorry. Okay, I'm gonna sit like a lady today.
Ari
Me too. Me too. Why? Nothing. I have a bad posture.
Ang
No.
Ari
How's it look?
Ang
Great. Posture.
Ari
Posture.
Ang
Okay. Stop doing that with the face. It's like really un. Okay. By the way, it's 6:18.
Ari
Okay.
Ang
Okay. Hi, I'm Ang.
Ari
And I'm Ari.
Ang
And this is Girls Gone Bible. We are a faith based podcast where we talk all things spirituality, mental health, relationships, everyday life, the struggles we all face. And we look at everything from a biblical point of view. We love Jesus here. He is everything to us. We are two girls with lives completely laid down for Jesus because he's everything. And I hope that you being here and watching this podcast will show you too that Jesus is everything and everything that we think in our lives that is important. We think it's important. You enter into a relationship with Jesus and you realize, oh, nothing matters except Jesus.
Ari
That's right. Two imperfect girls serving a perfect God.
Ang
Baby, coin it. Coin that slogan. What's up, A?
Ari
What's up, Ange?
Ang
Ah, we had a sleepover last night.
Ari
Yeah, that was nice. We haven't had that. Sorry. That was nice. We haven't had a sleepover in a while.
Ang
When was last time?
Ari
I know how homey is my house.
Ang
Your house is. You've done such a good job and I'm very proud of you.
Ari
Is it giving Nancy Meyers Ralph Lauren vibes?
Ang
Who's Nancy? Who's Nancy Meyers? Cause you told. I told Jenny. I was like, I don't know who that. Who's Nancy Meyers?
Ari
It's like a design type, you know?
Ang
You're just like me when we get something in our head. You say it every day.
Ari
I discovered. I'm calling you Nancy Meyer.
Ang
I discovered her.
Ari
I know everybody Knows you discovered. Listen, she talks so much about Heidi Baker that. Can you meet her for the love of God? This is how I am with Stephanie Heidi Baker.
Ang
Well, you know what Heidi Baker said. I know Michael Koulianos is gonna get a restraining order.
Ari
We had Stephanie K. On last. Yesterday. Yeah, last week. And she just, like, means everything to me. Like, I, I can't. Like, I could go on and on for days.
Ang
Wait, wait, wait, wait.
Ari
So hopefully this can be a fun. You know, sometimes we, we do heavy hitting episodes, but sometimes we just want to do one or two light ones. And that's what we're going to do tonight. We're going to do.
Ang
Honey, I fear this isn't going to.
Ari
Be like a light episode.
Ang
Every question we screenshot it is not light.
Ari
Yeah. So let's answer some questions. We like to do question sessions once in a while.
Ang
I. I just want to say really quick. So I recorded half of the audiobook today for the devotional that Ari and I wrote. Ari already did her sessions and my voice, it is not for the week. I mean, we literally talk for a living. And it was one of the most challenging things I've ever had to do is record this audiobook. But it was so fun and it was so beautiful to sit and relive everything that we wrote. I got to read my parts. I got to read through Ari's parts. It was like one of the most special experiences of my life life. Thinking back to you and I in our bedrooms, in our houses, like, trying to write this and be calling each other. Did I say too much? Is this taking it too far? No, you're fine. What about me, though? Did I say too much? And so if you guys don't already know, Ari and I have a devotional that we wrote and it's called out of the wilderness. And it's 31 devotions where Ari and I basically poured out our hearts and partnered with God to write something for longtime believers, lifetime believers, new believers, believers who used to believe but fell away. And just like a intimate journal of our experiences with our. With Jesus in our faith walk. And just like everything we've ever hit that hindered us and even things before we knew Jesus. And it's just like the most special thing I think we've ever done. And so we're going to put the QR code on the screen and you can go to girlsgone bible.com/book and you can get your book.
Ari
It's just. Even when we were just reliving the moment, saying out loud I can't wait for you guys. I didn't know what to expect. This is our first time doing this, so saying the book out loud. I'm so excited for you guys to even listen because it's like I could feel every moment of when I was, like, saying it out loud. And so it's gonna. It's just so special. I love it. It's so de. Near and dear to my heart. Even writing about our friendship because it was like we were in the middle of everything we were going through. Yeah. So.
Ang
Oh, I love it so much. You guys know that Ari and I are on the Girls Gone Bible live tour. Man. If you guys follow us on Instagram, like, you see the photos, you see videos that we post, you see these nights that we are having on tour. They are truly lifechanging for Ari and I. Like what we have seen on this tour, what we have, just what we've been experiencing in, like, in person ministry with creating an environment and an atmosphere where Jesus is respected and revered and asked to come. And, like, the way that the Lord literally comes into a room and shows up when there's purity of heart and hunger in the room, like, you guys have no idea. It's insane. So I think when we say Tor, like, I don't. I just want you guys to know it's not like a live podcast tour where we're just, like, talking. It's like a night of revival and worship. And we've had testimonies of healing. We've had testimonies of physical healings happening, which is, like, for Jesus to move through two girls who are blindly obeying and, like, stumbling through this is just, like, evidence of his grace and who he is. And we have testimonies of people, women and men, saying that, like, they're healing from addiction and mental health issues. And, like, I struggled with really bad anxiety, and it's been however long, and I'm filled with joy and it hasn't come back. And so it's just like an environment where chains break and Jesus sets people free and heals their hearts, because that's what he does. In a moment, he can heal you. So we want to invite you guys to go to girlsgone bible.com tour. And it has all of our dates in a few weeks. We should be announcing our next dates because spring is coming to a close and then fall is starting back up in September. So go get your tickets. We can't wait to be with you guys in person.
Ari
What's your favorite worship song right now?
Ang
Oh, Honey, oh, honey, you've put on a little bit of that Stephanie Gretzinger. Put on a little bit of that Jesus image worship. Put it on a look. Yeah.
Ari
I think we crown you is my.
Ang
Favorite right now by Jeremy Riddle.
Ari
Guys, I have it on repeat every day.
Ang
Stephanie Gretzinger, Jeremy Riddle. Jesus image worship. Upper room worship.
Ari
Like Abby Gamgoa.
Ang
Her name is not Abigamino.
Ari
Why do I keep calling her Abigambino?
Ang
It's not Abigambino.
Ari
That's not okay. I never get anyone's names right.
Ang
It's Abby Gambino.
Ari
I know an Abigambino. Do you? No. She must be from Boston. That's a very Boston name.
Ang
Abby Gambino.
Ari
Abby Gambino. What's up, sweetheart?
Ang
No, I don't know her. Abigambo. Bethel. Beautiful, true, pure worship, you guys.
Ari
And honestly, you know my number one me and Jesus song, Waymaker miracle worker always.
Ang
Let me. Can I give you guys a little bit of a grid in how I like to judge worship music? Right? Jesus is the ultimate judge. The worship music is literally for him. It's not even for us. But if the song is talking more about you than it is God, I think we have a problem. You know, I think like it's just like always, like it's supposed to be ministering vertically. Like it's always supposed to go up all directly back to Jesus. So that's how I like measure worship music in a sense, you know.
Ari

Ang
Okay, Relationship advice. Anything specific or just in general?
Ari
No. Just give us your top relationship advice. I won't be giving you a relationship advice because I haven't been in a relationship in two years and some you.
Ang
Gave me really good relationships.
Ari
Are you still single? Yes, I am single.
Ang
You give me great relationship advice.
Ari
Yes, I do.
Ang
Yes.
Ari
Yeah. Well I don't.
Ang
Except sometimes it's a little Boston.
Ari
Picking on my kid. No. So give us some relationship advice for people in relationships.
Ang
I mean we always talk about singleness and we always talk about purity and singleness. I think one day we'll do an episode on Dating as a Christian in a Relationship because this Is my first time. And there's so much, so, so much to dating. I guess all I'll say is practically, like, seeking both people seeking Jesus with all their hearts makes for a good relationship. I think what people need to remember, like, I guess this is what's been on my heart recently, is I think in the Christian world, everybody wants, like, God's perfect one for them. And, like, yes. You don't settle. Obviously. Like, we always speak about that. Nobody's perfect. Nobody's perfect. Nobody's going to meet every ideal that you thought you needed or wanted. You have to remember that, you know, it's two lives coming together. Two very different people with very different past, upbringing, backgrounds who have to come together and create a life. And, like, naturally there's going to be tension and friction. And I just think, like, grace for one another is really important. Being committed to understanding one another and, like, praying your heart out individually and together of just, like, we need eyes to see each other the way that Jesus sees us. Yeah, I think I just see a lot of, like, for me and John, for example, like, the first few months of our relationship were, like, pure bliss because we were, like, not putting too much pressure on it. Not because we're in the honeymoon stage, but there was just no pressure. Like, you're you, I'm me. We're gonna come together and see if we like each other and see if this works out. And then you start doing really hard work, because when things get more serious, you realize that again, two lives coming together that have to learn to, like, mesh with one another, and there's compromise on both sides and there's acceptance on both sides. That needs to happen. And I just think a lot of people have ideals that they just need to let Jesus break. So when you're meeting someone, when you're in a relationship with someone, just know that, like, yes, the Lord has to be in it. He has to speak. He has to give confirmation. You have to have peace, and you just choose someone. You know, like, eventually you just, like, choose someone. And so I would just say compassion and understanding and genuine love for one another and understanding that nobody's perfect.
Ari
Nobody. And that goes along with friendships, too.
Ang
Yeah, for sure. Is that.
Ari
Oh, no, because of me, people be giving up on each other. That's what I mean.
Ang
People do give up on each other, and it's crazy.
Ari
Like, recognize that. How imperfect you are. Why are you giving up on that friend?
Ang
Yeah, dude. Real. Recognize.
Ari
Real.
Ang
It's like, recognize. Someone said, how do you manage FOMO while being A Christian.
Ari
Oh. You know, I'm gonna be completely honest right now. Things that I used to do, I think. Now, how did I do that stuff?
Ang
Yep.
Ari
Which obviously I wasn't like. I wasn't like. No, no. Sometimes I make myself out to be. Like, I was not like, some party animal. I never was. But, like, yes. Like, there are certain things that. Because I'm new, like, I'm two years in, but I would say that. But sometimes I see people and they. Like. I was talking to my girlfriend about this the other day, and I really did lay my life down very quickly. And it was like. It was almost like one day I was like, that's it. I'm done. And that was amazing, but also very difficult. And I think I still. Honestly, like, even we were talking about holiness. Yes. With Stephanie. I almost wanted to say, like, but can we talk about the perfectionism part of it? Because sometimes I feel, like, a little bit stressed out because I feel this perfectionism, and it's really stressful because I'm just not. I'm so imperfect. Like, I come from a background where, you know, it's just so opposite of holiness. And that's not. That doesn't mean that I come from a horrible background. It's just. Was so opposite of the way I have to live now. And so, like, even when I go back home, I'm just, like, it's. It's difficult. I don't. I. I did not grow up in a Christian household. So when I go home, I'm around things that I wouldn't say is the most holy.
Ang
Yeah.
Ari
And sometimes, like, yeah, I. Like, the other day I wanted to, like, I. I actually did. I listened to my 2000 hits when I was younger. Paula Dienga, like, Ashante. And then I'm like, wait a minute. Can I. Should I be listening to this? Like, there's certain things that I'm just still, like, trying to figure out that aren't the worst things in the world. Right. But I know that I have to live a life that is separated. And sometimes I struggle with that a little bit still.
Ang
Yeah.
Ari
Yeah. So what was the question? Oh, fomo. Yeah. Yeah. So I think that. Yeah. Sometimes going out and stuff, like, I wanna even. I don't know. I wouldn't say that I have fomo. It's just. I think there's some things that I'm still trying to figure out. Is there a fine line? Like, should I. Am I crossing the line by, like, even listening to certain songs and stuff?
Ang
Right.
Ari
Totally. And it's been I. I have been on a journey lately where I have been having a little bit of diff. Of a difficult time with it.
Ang
Yeah, totally.
Ari
What about you?
Ang
Well, thank you for sharing that, because I'm sure so many people feel that way, you know, I think. Yeah. I mean, it's something. It's something going from living in the world, living, you know, an unholy life, or from an un. You know what I mean? A family that's not Christian, and just being around people that don't speak in a way that glorifies God, like, that's clearly something you can't do without the Holy Spirit to completely let your life change. And that's what Scripture talks about the whole time. Is that, like, you. We need Jesus to become like Jesus. You know, it's like, only from his empowerment. But I think I. Yeah, this is, like, a really interesting one for me because I have. This is probably one of the most difficult parts of my life as of recently, is changing so much.
Ari
Yeah.
Ang
And feeling fomo. Not that I, like, am wishing I could do things that other people are doing. I didn't even feel that before I was, like, really laid down for Jesus. Like, I think I more have. Like, I can feel really awkward because I feel so different.
Ari
Yeah.
Ang
And I can feel really left out in, like, conversations and stuff because I'm, like, having. It's like a fight of do I engage and, like, choose to not follow my convictions in this moment to fit in. And, like, I think that's what I'm dealing with. I, like, don't. Yeah. Sometimes I feel. I mean, a lot of time I feel like I don't fit in. And so that can give me a little bit of fomo, but it's not fomo. Like, I wish I was doing that, or I wish I was talking like that. I just am like, oh, I don't know how.
Ari
It's awkward.
Ang
Yeah. So I think I can just feel, like, left out sometimes. And this is so real, and it's. So. This is what happens when you did not grow up in an environment of, you know, Christian community and people and friends. And then you, like, your whole life changes. And everything, like, following Jesus means everything about you changes down to, like, literally inside and out. Everything is supposed to change, and then you're left being like, okay, well, nobody else really changed, just me. And now I have to deal with people, like, potentially not even accepting me because I'm so different. Like, I'm not the person that you became friends with all those years ago. Will you still Accept me? Are you going to reject me? So I think that's what I deal with. Not so much fomo, like I wish I could be at the club.
Ari
You know, we definitely don't wish we're at the club.
Ang
I don't wish we were at the club. But yeah, I think if you're in a situation where you are trying to lay your life down for Jesus and you find yourself like consistently feeling awkward and left out, it's so normal. We all go through it, I deal with it. And yeah, you just remember why you're doing it. You remember the point, you remember like who gets the reward in you glorifying God with everything about yourself. You know, how do I tell my friends about Jesus that don't want to hear it.
Ari
That don't want to hear it.
Ang
You're really good at this.
Ari
Well, I, I, yeah, I've been going through this for a couple years. Not that anyone doesn't want to hear it, but I simply, I, I always say this, I simply live it. I simply pray for them behind their back. I, I, I try to be someone that doesn't judge because that's how I felt when I came into Christianity. So I try to give so much grace and be non judgmental because that's when you feel safe, is when you don't feel judged. And so I listen to their perspectives. I pray, I like to share my own personal testimony. And it's been beautiful because simply living out what Jesus did and how he saved my life has actually made people say, wait a minute, maybe I should go to church too.
Ang
Your life is just the perfect witness of getting people to Jesus.
Ari
What about you?
Ang
Well, because they're like this Ari. Is that Ari?
Ari
It's insane.
Ang
This Ari, who doesn't struggle is the same as this one who, it's just like, it's, it's insane to see your life, specifically the witness that is your life to the testimony of Jesus is like, it's like what he talks about, it's why he does what he does. It's why he allows us to go through things so that it's incredible. Matthew 5:16, like what Ari talked about says, let your line shine before line, let your light shine before others that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. And then what Ari also said, pray for them. 2nd Corinthians 4:4 says, People don't reject Jesus because they're evil, they're blind. Yeah, prayer lifts the blinders. And one more thing I'll say is ask questions and you said that like you share, just ask questions. Do not just immediately start preaching at people. The whole point. Whenever I'm like trying to talk to someone who doesn't know Jesus yet, I always ask holy Spirit, give me an access point. I'm going to start asking questions and then like highlight to me what it is. Like the area in which like we can talk about that will just open them up. Because when people feel seen, they get soft, like their hearts change. And I wrote this thing down. It says Jesus asked over 300 questions in the Gospels. He led with curiosity, not correction.
Ari
That's right.
Ang
You know. Yeah.
Ari
That's so good.
Ang
People just want to feel seen.
Ari
That's. They want to feel seen. Yep. Okay, let's be honest. There's a lot of supplement brands out there making big promises. How do you deal with a disappointment streak that seems never ending?
Ang
Go ahead.
Ari
No go.
Ang
You deal with a disappointment streak that seems never ending. H yeah. I feel like I've gone through multiple seasons like that where things just pile on and they pile on and they pile on and and the first thing that comes to my mind because obviously in the kingdom and with the mysteries of God, there could be a million Reasons as to why you specifically are in a situation where it's disappointment after disappointment. The first thing that came to my mind, and I'm going to trust that it's what somebody needs to hear, is that oftentimes God is producing long suffering in you when he's repeatedly having something similar happen to you. Or it could be like a spiritual attack. But this is where I'm landing that. Like, for me, I know, like, I just know the Lord wants to produce long suffering in me, in all of us, so that our faith has true endurance and that, so we don't falter and like, flail around every time something bad happens. And disappointment, like, yes, it can make your heart sick and it also builds your faith every time you take a hit. If you choose to allow Jesus to work in it, it makes you stronger. So I would just like fix your perspective on why this disappointment keeps happening. And maybe like, like a hundred percent, God is trying to produce something in you and it's up to you to pray and ask, like, what is it? Also, it could be so many other things, like, I don't know, maybe you're not in the will. Like, and maybe I know people who consistently try at the same job and like, beat it to the grave. And I always want to offer, like, maybe that's not what the Lord wants you to do and maybe that's why you're not having breakthrough in it. Yeah, maybe they're sin. Like, you never know. So it's just something you seek Jesus in and he reveals it to you.
Ari
Yeah, the first thing that comes to my mind, and I don't know who needs to hear this, but so many times we are saying, I'm, I'm, I'm experiencing disappointment after disappointment when really it's actually out of God's love.
Ang
Yeah.
Ari
And everything that I thought was a disappointment, everything that got taken from me was out of his love. And I thought I was being punished. And so maybe you're going through a heartbreak right now and you're wondering why and it's out of his love. Yeah, it's because he was that person wasn't meant for you or you lost a job, and it's out of his love. And so if we start changing the language of, instead of saying, looking at it in the perspective of I'm experiencing disappointment after disappointment and changing it to, it was out of God's love that I don't have this thing anymore. And that. And God is trying to bring you into a season. I don't know who I'm talking to. But God is trying to bring you into a season to understand his love. So then you step into authority of not looking at everything as a disappointment. Because when we stay stuck in the disappointment, then we stay stuck. But if we start looking at in the lens of, whoa, what is he trying to teach me? He took that away from me for my good because it was out of his love. Now I'm going to keep my eyes on him and focus 100% on Jesus so he can bring me to the right to bring me to the place that he has meant for me. Then that's when he'll be like, okay, now I trust you. Now I'm going to bring you what I have for you. But all I know is I can speak from experience. And what I thought was disappointment after disappointment was Jesus just taking the things away from me that weren't meant for me to bring me to where I was supposed to be.
Ang
So good.
Ari
Yeah. Yeah.
Ang
So good. Period. Yeah, period. And if you're experiencing the type of disappointment that you can't put a bow on, because that happens too, a lot of the time, it is exactly what art. Most of the time, it's exactly what Ari's talking about. And then sometimes things simply are not going well. Sometimes you are in a situation where, wow, this really does stink. And I've never used the word stink in my life. It just sounded better than suck box. So I just. Anyways, you just have to take it to Jesus. Every single one of us, ever. We experience disappointment on the daily. And it's just like, you can't. You just can't let disappointment make you bitter. Don't feel alone, because you're not the only one experiencing disappointment. It can feel that way, but it's not the truth. And don't let it make you bitter. Don't let it make you mad at God, because he's like the Father who gives his children good gifts. Like, he's every good and perfect gift comes from God. God, he's not the one making things, bad things happen. But you just take everything to him and don't let it make you mad at Him. You know, I want to be on fire for God. What do you recommend? If someone is lukewarm. And I just want to say that hunger to be on fire is actually evidence that girl, boy, you're already on fire. Like, that's a. If you have a hunger to become on fire, that means the Holy Spirit is already in you, working and stirring in your spirit. And it could be so many reasons why you're not on fire yet, but I would offer you, like, potentially, if you. You will have fire in you. So be encouraged that you already have that fire in you, potentially. Maybe discipline and boldness are what need to come next. Maybe you need discipline to do the things that the Lord is calling you to do. Maybe you need boldness to empower you to actually step out and obey and do the things that he's calling you to. If you love me, obey my commandments. I think that to be on fire for God, like, you have to have a genuine love for Jesus. You have to be captivated by Jesus, and that's something that you ask for. We can't love Jesus in our own might. I. I'm telling you guys, every day of my life, I ask God, help me love Jesus, help me worship Jesus. My heart is on fire for Jesus. And I ask every day, fan it aflame. Fan it. It fan in a flame.
Ari
Like, it fan saying that.
Ang
Fan the flame, God. And so I'm like, every day I, like, beg him, set my heart on fire for you, Jesus. And then I think just another thing that is really practical and like, we talk about this all the time, but being around other believers who are on fire for Jesus, fire sets fire ablaze. Like fire catches fire. That's literally what actually happens with fire. So when you're around people who are on fire, you can't help but catch what they have. Like, you become on fire. You actually, like. This is going to sound crazy, I think I've said this before, but you. And I don't know if this is the right word, but you actually profit off of other people's gifts. Like, if I have the gift of faith and you spend time with me, you're going to receive the gift of not receive it, but you're gonna, like, feed off of that gift. Huh?
Ari
Yeah. I thought he just knocked on the door. I was like, what?
Ang
You're gonna. You're. You can feed off that gift. The more time I spend with John, the more, like, truly, I'm way more prophetic when I'm around John. And you notice that when you, you feed off of somebody's favor, like, somebody can have favor on their life, and it actually affects the people around them. So it's just like the people that you're around. And I would just say, ask for fire. You ask him. You ask him. Luke 11:13. I love this so much. It talks about how, like, if an earthly father would. Is capable to give his children good gifts, how much more will your heavenly Father, give the Holy Spirit to those who ask. Yeah, that's what he wants to do. He wants to set your heart ablaze for him. So just ask him earnestly, like with all your heart and he'll do it.
Ari
You just talked about Father and I think that's another way to set your heart on fire for him. And if you're someone that's in a tough, tough season, take it as an absolute gift. Cuz it's. I wouldn't know God as my dad if I didn't go through such a hard season. And I wouldn't know him as a healer if I didn't have such a broken heart. And so that is what set my heart on fire is going through the tough times. And so when you see God as dad, you can't help but be such on fire to be like, I have a dad who loves me, protects me and will heal me and I can put all my brokenness, give all my broken pieces to and he won't disappoint me and he won't abandon me. So when you understand God as dad, how can you not always be on fire for him? And I'll just say one more thing. Helping his people, helping his sons and daughters will set you ablaze. Sometimes I can even feel not on fire. And doing our meetings and help. Being in prayer for people that are sick and then seeing what God is doing through prayer is unbelievable. It has set me on fire. When I get, when we get emails of like, you healed somebody's foot. You had called out, you want to.
Ang
Say it real quick, Jesus healed somebody's foot.
Ari
Jesus healed somebody's foot. Helping his people and sacrificing your needs for others and just, yeah, just helping others, helping his people will set a place for you because you are being at service to others. And then you will see miracles in other people's life because you are sitting in prayer for them and you are being sacrificial to his people. And so that's another way to set a blaze so good and be on fire for Jesus.
Ang
And you know that one very, very well. Oh, there was this one. What do you do when your personal problems are taking away from your relationship with Jesus? And I love this one so much because the enemy wants you to look inwards so bad. Every single thing that we deal with is, is like I truly believe almost all of it is just a distraction. Like sure, he comes to hurt you and discour. Like he wants to discourage you and he wants to distract you and he wants to leave you empty so that you can't do anything for God and you won't bring anyone else home to the kingdom. Philippians 3, 13, 14 says, no, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it. But I focus on this one thing. Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead. I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, God through Christ Jesus is calling us. Every time that I'm dealing with things relationally, every time that I'm dealing with, like, so much, it's so chaotic, I always try to sit down and be like, lord, what do you have for me right now that Satan is so afraid of me catching that you are. That he's creating all of these insane relational dynamics in my life. Like, I'm like, I feel like I'm arguing with someone. I'm getting hurt by someone. Like, this is all going, like, what is going on that he's trying to get me all messed up and distracted. So just, like, fight the temptation to look inward when you're facing troubles and, like, truly continue to look at Jesus and it removes every burden.
Ari
And, yeah, what do you do when you're personal.
Ang
What do you do when your personal problems are taking away from your relationship with Jesus?
Ari
Oh, yeah. And that. And, and when that happens, that is when I believe that can also be attacked to remain humble, not have pride and deal with that person in humility. And that's a test. That is Jesus working on your heart to make you more like him. He'll put you in situations where you could either go one way and fight and have pride or deal with that person, take a deep breath, take a minute, and deal with them in humility. That's been. That's. That is like when you, when you're in your pruning pot process, one of the biggest things is he's humbling you and teaching you how to be and making you better. And so he'll oftentimes put you in situations that, you know, old us can. Can take out the earrings and put up our bows. Not the bows and the hair. These bows.
Ang
These bows. We'll just leave you with this. Please spend time with Jesus, if nothing else. I understand. We have podcasts and we have Christian YouTube and we have even sermons which are amazing. That's actually not your secret place. Even church isn't your secret place. Your secret place is you. And Jesus in the morning is great. Stephanie always says it at least an hour. Give Jesus even 30 minutes of your time uninterrupted. You sit, you abide. In his presence. You ask him to come. You ask the Holy Spirit to fill you search. You speak to you. You sit in silence with a little instrumental music. Then you read the Bible. Then you worship your heart at out seek the face of Jesus. What does that mean? That means you sit and you wait and you dwell and you expect him to come and say, I'm not leaving until you meet me here. And you command your soul to worship Jesus. You command your soul to love Jesus. You command your entire being to be captivated by Jesus. Loving is a choice. Love is a choice with people and it's a choice with Jesus. So make a choice today to say, I love him so much. I'm going to give him everything. And I'm going to spend so much time with him every day of my life. Life.
Ari
And then I'm just going to end it with people. We need people. Fight for it, make time for it and check on people. And if somebody's not calling you, call them. Because people are so important. Friendships are everything and we need people. Get in a group, read the Bible with them, study with them, study the word together, pray together. It is so important. So please do not isolate yourself and fight for friendships and fight for community.
Ang
Amen.
Ari
We love you.
Ang
We love you guys so much. May the Lord bless you and keep you. May he make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you. May he turn his face towards you and give you peace. Shalom.
Ari
Shalom.
