Raina Greenberg
This week on the snack, the met gala, spirit airlines, and a jp morgan sex slave scandal.
Ashley Hess
This is a dear media production.
Raina Greenberg
Enjoy.
Ashley Hess
Hi, guys.
Raina Greenberg
Hi, guys.
Ashley Hess
Hello. We didn't say hi last week. You jumped in too hot.
Raina Greenberg
Sometimes. I don't know if I'm supposed to say it on these episodes of Camera.
Ashley Hess
You never know what she's doing back there.
Raina Greenberg
I never know what she's doing back there. Well, I want to talk about your special before we get into the snack. And it's been out for a week. This is a huge moment in pop culture for everybody.
Ashley Hess
Yes. One week of Here Comes the Bride. It was so amazing with the live chat.
Raina Greenberg
Yeah.
Ashley Hess
That was the best thing of my life. That was just adrenaline coursing through my veins. I had a little watch party, which I didn't know if I was gonna do, and then you were like, you have to do that.
Raina Greenberg
So it's like when I don't want to birthday parties, and then I'm like, I'm gonna be wanting a birthday party.
Ashley Hess
I didn't know how it was gonna be having friends over to watch me on the screen. And then also, you know, people have seen the material, but, you know, they wanted to pay attention and actually watch it. And I had to be in the chat doing, like, admin, not admin. It was very fun, but it was. Couldn't have been more perfect. And then our friends were in the chat too. We had, like, so many devices, and they're watching, and my wedding planner, Jacqueline, was there.
Raina Greenberg
That was a surprise for me.
Ashley Hess
It was so, so fun, and just the chat was so lit, and I have just gotten the best feedback from it. It's just been. I just. I'm so grateful and so happy, and it's been so well received, and I'm just so happy. You guys keep watching it, watch on YouTube, share it. These things only really succeed because people share them and want to spread the word. And you were in the chat too. I just.
Raina Greenberg
I loved reading what people were saying. I was all alone in a hotel room. I was like, this is such a bummer. But it just. I don't know. I was at the special taping. I've been on the road with you. I've watched you craft these jokes for years. And to watch it on the television was just a totally different, like, special, beautiful experience, even for me. And no one has watched his material more than me.
Ashley Hess
Oh, thanks. So I just wanted to read a few messages. I. I've been getting so many messages every day, and a lot of the same in the best way of. I love this so much and I'm watching it again. That's crazy. I've never watched a comedy special twice.
Raina Greenberg
Oh, I do sometimes I watch that for like you watch it the first time for context and the second time for like details almost. I do that a lot.
Ashley Hess
Yes. So thank you guys so much for watching but I just wanted to read a couple of my faves, so. Hi Ashley, big fan. Just wanted to share that my BF and I watched your special and I was playing with his balls the entire time. Love you. Okay, here's one from Australia because remember I told them what time they could watch Incredible, incredible, incredible special. You should be so proud. Congratulations. I'm in Australia so it's 10am here. I'm currently a final year law student who is preparing for mock trial. But I ensured I planned my day to watch that. You are so talented. It was so beautifully produced. Beautiful venue and I loved your material and delivery. Incredible. I love the podcast. I'm top 1% of listener last year on Spotify. You guys have helped me through my degree. You're doing more than you know from a loyal Australian 20 year old girl aspiring to be a badass like you. Show us. Just love that. Oh my God. The special was amazing. I texted my mom a link and an hour later she responded. That was good. Mind you. She didn't even.
Raina Greenberg
Our agent talks literally.
Ashley Hess
Or Andrew Collins, mind you. She didn't even respond to my message that she would watch when she would watch or if she had any follow up questions to shoot your mom a link and she immediately just puts it on and then it was like an hour later.
Raina Greenberg
That was good. That's how I've told people who work for us to behave. Don't say I'm on it, just say I did it.
Ashley Hess
Okay. Ashley, I just want to tell you that I love your special. I'm watching my husband who rarely laughs at anything. Same sis. And he is chuckling during your special. I've been following you guys forever. This one was really sweet. She said, I just finished your amazing new special Here Comes the Bride and I have never sent a message to someone like this. I just wanted to say thank you. I just had to unexpectedly put one of my dogs down literally yesterday and your special was the first thing that made me smile and laugh in a minute. So relatable and funny. So happy for you to be able to do this. If you're ever back in Minneapolis, I'll be there.
Raina Greenberg
This is so sweet.
Ashley Hess
I know. And here's my personal Fave. Because of the visual. Just picture this, everybody. This is a mom. Oh, my God. Your specialist. To die for. I'm laughing so hard. Crying. Only made it halfway because my daughter walked in and said, who choked her? I was like, oh, shit. Where did you come from? Where did you come from? Her daughter in the house. So tomorrow I'm making them run laps outside so I can have my wine and finish watching mom of the Year. I wonder how old these kids are.
Raina Greenberg
I do, too.
Ashley Hess
Go do boot camp in the backyard.
Raina Greenberg
Or let's let them watch. They'll learn something.
Ashley Hess
Yes. Who choked her?
Raina Greenberg
Who's the way that a child digests that, you know?
Ashley Hess
So thank you guys so much. And, you know, my parents and my family watch. Shashank's parents watched it, which I didn't know his dad was going to watch it. And then I went there the next day to see them. We spent the weekend in Phoenix with his. His family, where his sister and her husband lives.
Raina Greenberg
And lots of penis content.
Ashley Hess
They didn't bring it up. Like, they did a cheers to me at dinner. We were celebrating his dad's retirement, but they just were like, it was so great. We loved it, but no details, thank God. Like, I. I just had this irrational fear I was going to get, like, cornered by his parents or something. And they're like, so about the whole circumcision thing. I don't know. Something.
Raina Greenberg
I feel like men don't pay attention to anything. I think his dad probably watched See how beautiful it was.
Ashley Hess
Yeah.
Raina Greenberg
I have very rarely spoken to a man at one of my shows that is listening to me. And I love it. Like, when I try to call on them for crowd work, they're like, what? And I'm like, I love it. Go back to sleep, sir.
Ashley Hess
Well, speaking of your tour, you called me from Seattle. It was incredible. I got to say hi to the audience, and I'm obsessed with the hat.
Raina Greenberg
Oh, thank you. It says, honestly, it's you. I have to figure out how to sell them.
Ashley Hess
I've done it yet.
Raina Greenberg
I have 2000 hats sitting in a box.
Ashley Hess
I've been wondering, because I saw them, and I was like, I don't think they're being sold at the show.
Raina Greenberg
So I just. We'll figure it out. They're heavy. I keep being like, I'll bring them. And then I'm like, oh, they're so heavy. I should have brought them to Chicago, did four shows. I'm gonna figure out a way to put it on my website.
Ashley Hess
Okay, we'll do that.
Raina Greenberg
But Yes. I called you from Seattle. I just. I don't think I've ever missed a milestone in your life. I just. I haven't even missed, like, a special trip. Like, you and I make it a real point. Holidays, birthdays, like, we don't miss milestones in each other's lives. That's not a thing that we do. And I had booked this tour in November.
Ashley Hess
Yeah, we never would have done this. It was fucking weird. And then all of our best friends in New York had a watch party, and Raina's just alone in Seattle. I mean, it was crazy. It was incomprehensible. So we wouldn't have planned it like that. I just, you know, this is when I wanted to put it out and whatever. So that's how it worked out.
Raina Greenberg
The one, like, really random, special, like, message from the universe, though, was that, like, it happened to be the night I was in Seattle, and Ryan, who filmed your. Filmed your wedding, was at that show with me. And it was the only show this whole tour he's just been able to come to. And he came by himself and watched it. And besides you, that's the person that's watched me perform the most in the world. And, like, to have the lights come up and have him be in there, almost made him bring his camera to film this. But I was like, I'll let him
Ashley Hess
sit and enjoy himself. Okay.
Raina Greenberg
But it was funny that it fell on that night.
Ashley Hess
Yeah.
Raina Greenberg
And, yeah, we turned all the lights up in the club and congratulated you. And it was really, really fun and nice to be able to do that.
Ashley Hess
And Ryan shot the wedding, and there is footage from the wedding in the special. So anyway, you guys can watch it on YouTube. Links are in my bio. Ash Hess. You'll find it there. You'll. You'll figure it out.
Raina Greenberg
I got a special message from an audience member this weekend. It was from a man, and he said to me, and if you guys come see me on tour, you'll know what I'm talking about. It said, I just want to let you know, after your show, I got my dick sucked while my girlfriend was upside down. I wanted to thank you for the blowjob.
Ashley Hess
Thank you, sir. Put this on my tombstone.
Raina Greenberg
Thank you. Wanna thank you for the blowjob.
Ashley Hess
Thank you. You're welcome.
Raina Greenberg
Venmo me if you want.
Ashley Hess
If you feel compelled. Yeah.
Raina Greenberg
No, it's Raina Dash Greenberg on Venmo. You can send me some money.
Ashley Hess
Okay.
Raina Greenberg
Congratulations to you.
Ashley Hess
Thank you.
Raina Greenberg
It's amazing. And I will keep watching it. I just I love it.
Ashley Hess

Raina Greenberg
Okay, say one more thing and then we're gonna get into this like two seconds. I. I did eight shows last week and I did it in Portland, Seattle, Chicago, Toronto. I just want to thank everybody. I just wanted to thank everybody for coming out. I love you guys.
Ashley Hess
No, not enough. What Raina accomplished. I have never done a run like this. So Wednesday, Portland. Thursday, Seattle. Friday, two shows, Chicago. Saturday, two shows, Chicago. Sunday, two shows, Toronto. Raina, it's insane. I mean, people do it. Nikki does it. And again, this was your most intense stretch of the tour. But I just want to congratulate you. And I'm exhausted even saying it. And I couldn't quite comprehend it. Like, I knew the schedule, but then when Sunday morning, I was with Shashank. We're going to the airport, flying out of Phoenix. I go, raina's in Toronto tonight. She's got two shows in Toronto. I kind of forgot. She should be coming home on a Sunday. But alas, two more sold out shows. So congrats to you. You really did it.
Raina Greenberg
Thank you. Survived it. You and I have not done that either. I think the most we ever did was four shows in four cities in four days. But it's one show.
Ashley Hess
Yeah.
Raina Greenberg
And to do multiple shows in multiple cities, all the travel and I'm lucky, you know, Leah Lamar opened some of the shows for me and Brittany Schmidt, and I'm lucky to have my girlfriends with me. And I saw Matea Lane on there. You know, it's just if I can't have you, I have other people to be around me, make me happy. I guess, if I can't be with you. But they were so wonderful. And yeah, thank you guys for coming out. And it's just, it's been really wonderful. And Ashley and I will see you in New York next week at Gramercy Theater.
Ashley Hess
I feel emotional night in la.
Raina Greenberg
Hell, yeah.
Ashley Hess
So if you're listening on Thursday, one last housekeeping item. Tonight is the show in la. The Netflix is a joke festival. We'll see you guys there. There are still some tickets available. Palace Theater, 7pm so, you know, come
Raina Greenberg
get stripped on by the Chippendales.
Ashley Hess
Yeah, the Chippendales will be there. We cannot wait to see you guys there. It's gonna be an epic show. Okay, guys, let's kick it off with a fashion report. Lots of fashion news as we record this. The Met gala was last night. People are saying it didn't hit the same. And because the state of the world, because of who was involved, because of Lauren fucking Sanchez on the red carpet. I mean, I don't know. Do you? What do you think about the Met Gal in general?
Raina Greenberg
So the Met Gal theme this year was Fashion is art. And I loved the theme because I was like, this is finally a theme I understand. And basically people took inspiration obviously from museum art, like real art sculptures and paintings. And I was really excited to see how people interpreted that. Cause I was like, this is one I'll understand. Other than like camp, you know, and the way they designed the Met steps, I thought was gorgeous. I just felt like a little bored. And I was surprised by this because I thought people were gonna like, really go for it this year. And some people did and did a great job. But I was surprised that like, this should have been the easiest thing to accomplish in terms of the theme.
Ashley Hess
The wildest.
Raina Greenberg
And some people just showed, I mean, Margot Robbie, who can like do no wrong. In my eyes, she just wore like hotel drapes.
Ashley Hess
Margot Robbie, Charli xcx. So here's the thing. People are gonna be like, you don't get it. Yeah, I don't get it. But I am bored.
Raina Greenberg
And I am a human.
Ashley Hess
I understand that there's the history and the references and the symbolism and everything I'm sure everyone wore was rooted in some art piece. I mean, I get it, but like, I can still be bored. I can appreciate a beautifully written song and still not like it. I can appreciate it, but I'm like, this was the moment to go crazy. Yes, I feel like. So I do feel most offended by Margot Robbie. Most offended by Lauren Sanchez and the artwork that inspired her dress, which she was out here giving David's bridal. Like, I read this post on threads of like this art. This woman has this long neck and she's really pale and it's a stark contrast with the dress. And Lauren Sanchez is like tan with a blowout. You know, like she didn't really nail the look even.
Raina Greenberg
Uh huh. Like Hunter Schaeffer was inspired by a painting. And I saw Hunter Schaeffer against the painting, and I was like, this is an unbelievably beautiful interpretation of this painting. This is real art in a dress. I thought it was so incredible. If you guys had the opportunity to look at it and Lauren Sanchez was wearing just a blue dress, it was giving mother of the bride.
Ashley Hess
I mean, I don't want to just shit on everything. I loved a lot of it. Okay, so I meme the Met Gala when I feel inspired, and I did feel inspired. So if you guys go to my Instagram, I did a full grid post. They were in my stories and people were like, please post this on main. I was like, okay. So I had so much fun with it. That's why I look forward to the Met Gala. I have mixed feelings in the Met gal in general. Just. I don't know. A lot of people have a criticism. It feels very. Let them eat cake. This indulgent, extravagant event, especially with the state of the world, felt like this in recent years, but, like, it's still a charity event. And why is that different than the Oscars? Like, all of these things low key, make me feel weird. Because of the state of the world. There's a real dystopian vibe about it and, like, a real disconnect. But, like, we still like to be entertained. And look at this. Like, I. I have a lot of mixed feelings.
Raina Greenberg
I guess you could apply that reasoning to a lot of things.
Ashley Hess
Yeah.
Raina Greenberg
So it's like, you know, where do we draw the line? So for me, it's like, I don't. I don't really know, but you're welcome
Ashley Hess
to draw whatever line you want.
Raina Greenberg
The people that really say, I mean, I just. It's really cool to see the artistry. Hunter Shaver, by the way, was in Prada. I mean, people that were inspired by art. I wrote down a few that I like. Really crazy. Abrams was in a Chanel gown that I loved. Emmett Chamberlain opened the show and was in that, like, very colorful long gown. It looked like paint. It was custom. M U G L E R Mugler.
Ashley Hess
Yeah, Mueller. Mueller.
Raina Greenberg
Who's to say? Dolce was one of my favorites last year and is also one of my favorites this year. She looked like a piece of art.
Ashley Hess
Yeah, she just went for it. Just little like. Yeah.
Raina Greenberg
Chase Infinity was the designer of that.
Ashley Hess
The Jenners. I mean, Kylie, I this. She was my favorite meme. She's the opening meme on my post with this. It looks like the dress is coming off of her. It's Giving like Barbie doll her. And then Kendall Jenner's after party look. They're like mannequins, basically.
Raina Greenberg
I thought it was supposed to be mannequins. Right. Also, Hailey Bieber did a very similar sculptural type of look. And then Kim, I mean, they. I said to you. Because I really don't know, were they all. Did they plan this to all do this could not have happened independently.
Ashley Hess
I'm sure they plan. I'm sure they had a group chat. Kim wore the orange one. Yeah. Look like orange X Men.
Raina Greenberg
Kendall had one boob in that thing. And then the party outfit was full send.
Ashley Hess
Yeah. And Kendall in Gap.
Raina Greenberg
That was Gap.
Ashley Hess
Zack Posen Gap.
Raina Greenberg
Both looks or the first?
Ashley Hess
The first look for sure. I. I forget if the second one was. I think it was. Don't quote me on this, the first one. Gap. Like, it's like, technically ga. It's crazy. Gap Studio. And then the wings came out. Did you see her? Like, she didn't flap these wings at the red carpet. Like, the whole thing extended. And it was just this like Victoria's Secret angel vibe that they showed, like later inside the event or. I don't really understand the event. You just walk around. Is it like a dual party?
Raina Greenberg
It's a dinner and there's performances. So Sabrina Carpenter performed. I also loved her outfit. You know, every year I think she just wears like a. A romper and some high heels. And this year she wore a whole dress made out of film.
Ashley Hess
Yeah, the film was so cool. I just.
Raina Greenberg
I was surprised that even if. Whether I like the outfits or not, I was surprised that everybody didn't send it in just the biggest way. Even Nicole Kidman. I mean, she looked unbelievable. But I think I own that dress. Just a sparkly maroon dress.
Ashley Hess
Heidi Klum fucking full send. And it's my favorite meme that I made. So go check it out. Katy Perry is so annoying. But at least she did something crazy.
Raina Greenberg
I thought it was Kim wearing that mask.
Ashley Hess
That's fair. Bad bunny dressed like an elderly person. Janelle Monae. I memed it. That one drawer in the kitchen because she just had a bunch of cords all over her. That one looked insane. Like cardi. I loved whatever the cardi was doing. I like that shit. I don't care if it looks insane. This is the time to look insane. Because all those people are on a million red carpets here. They can be on whatever red carpet they want. So you can't use an excuse of like, I just wanted to wear this thing or this designer like, wear it to the Oscars then. Amanda Seyfried, what are you doing? Like, just send it.
Raina Greenberg
And she looked beautiful. Amanda Seyrifer, beautiful. For the Academy Awards.
Ashley Hess
Yeah, exactly. Exactly. So, yeah, that's the Met Gala. And, you know, a lot of people boycotted it. They're. I mean, unless people come out and say, I'm not going, then they could have just had, like, a scheduling conflict. So, like, Sydney Sweeney wasn't there. She's not going for political reasons. She was at Jeff Bezos wedding. But Zendaya, Sarah Jessica Parker, I missed Zendaya.
Raina Greenberg
I mean, I just. I looked through. I love, like, the day of the Met Gala, where they show you everybody's looks from the past. And Zendaya, I mean, she's my style icon forever. I mean, she's just the best dressed on every red carpet. She wore that really structural white suit last year.
Ashley Hess
It wasn't the same without her.
Raina Greenberg
It really wasn't.
Ashley Hess
And then Beyonce, first time in 10 years. And I had mixed feelings on that, too. It was dope as hell. It just. Maybe for the Grammys, I don't know. It just didn't blow me away. We were just talking, like, why? And I just. She's a queen. Always. Like, she's the queen of the Met Gala, but she's. This skeleton thing was so cool, but we were talking with our friend Taylor, who's really an expert on this shit. Of, like, were the proportions a little off? Did it kind of completely swallow her? The headdress maybe should have been bigger. I don't. Did she need the big fur cape? I mean, I love seeing her, and it took my breath away. But then when I really looked at, I'm like, do I like it? I don't know. I love seeing her family with her, and she's my queen. But, like, it wasn't my favorite thing I've ever seen. That's.
Raina Greenberg
It was a weird choice. We're allowed to say it. Okay. She looked like she was wearing my nephew's Halloween costume.
Ashley Hess
Yeah.
Raina Greenberg
The skeleton, the baby Halloween costume. But, I mean, at least she tried something. At least it wasn't.
Ashley Hess
She went on Robbie's dress. I mean, that's the thing. She did full send. And that's all I care about.
Raina Greenberg
That's all I'm asking for.
Ashley Hess
Okay, so the next on the Fashion Report, Devil Wears Prada. I haven't seen it yet. I'm so sorry. I might have to fucking see this movie with my husband.
Raina Greenberg
I'll go with you.
Ashley Hess
When?
Raina Greenberg
I don't know.
Ashley Hess
Say when.
Raina Greenberg
Maybe Friday.
Ashley Hess
We'll talk about it. I don't know. So he was like, I'll go with you, Ashley. I told you I'll go with you. I'm like, it's not the same. But I made him watch the original. Within the year. He'd never seen it. And he's obsessed with Anne Hathaway, so at least he'll like a appreciate it. The way she looks. He thinks she's so beautiful.
Raina Greenberg
Yeah, I mean, listen, it's a two hour movie. It's not a huge commitment. I saw it and we're gonna. I wrote down a bunch of stuff and I wanna have like an actual conversation with you about it. So we'll talk about it next week. I saw it this weekend in Chicago. My Boiler. I liked it. It didn't change my life the way the first one did. There's a lot of nostalgia. It's a lot of shots of New York. It's a lot of fashion. You see Hannah and Paige in it for like a clip for like a split second. But I just went, hannah. Like, it was just cute to see them. And there's a lot of very, I would say, lazy plot lines. I was like, this could have been better, but I'm also not looking. I just don't care. Like, I don't. I wrote some funny stuff down to make fun of with you next week,
Ashley Hess
but do it next week. That's what I've heard everyone say. I think the expectations were low because it's been 20 years and we've been burned a lot with sequels and remakes and whatnot. And everyone seems pleased enough.
Raina Greenberg
Yeah, I, I loved the fashion. The central conflicts that they try to bake in, like why Andy goes back to the magazine. I was like, this is so lazy. I don't have to work in publishing or media to know that none of this could happen.
Ashley Hess
Okay, so a little lazy on the plot and the writing. But did you feel good about the acting? Like, do you feel like they are the same? It stood the test of time.
Raina Greenberg
They really softened Miranda in a way that's just like. I think they were trying to explain that, like, with the times, you couldn't keep acting like that.
Ashley Hess
That's fair.
Raina Greenberg
People wouldn't accept that. You know, what if she did, though?
Ashley Hess
I kind of wish she did. I mean, that's the thing with the Mean Girls remake. They did take a lot of stuff out because it didn't age well. But, like, it just was like, you could tell.
Raina Greenberg
Yeah, I, they. They definitely softened the character. But, I mean, the acting was great. Stanley Tucci and Emily Blunt stole the show for me. They actually were unbelievable. They stole the show. Okay, so you guys will enjoy it. It's worth two hours. I'll go see it with you.
Ashley Hess
Okay.
Raina Greenberg
We can skip the Chanel thing.
Ashley Hess
No, we can't. So then.
Raina Greenberg
All right. Well, there is a new shoe on the Runway. Sweeping social media.
Ashley Hess
Not a shoe. Not a shoe. This is a foot accessory. This is a bag charm for your foot. This is a heel covering.
Raina Greenberg
This looks like the Labubu of shoes.
Ashley Hess
This is rage bait is what it is.
Raina Greenberg
Raina, wait till you find out what it costs.
Ashley Hess
Chanel put these shoes, these foot accessories out. These heel covers out on the Runway, toe covers.
Raina Greenberg
It's honestly something I should buy. It's like a grill for your toes.
Ashley Hess
It's not your toes. It's your heel. They don't cover your toes.
Raina Greenberg
Just black out a second. I'm in the front.
Ashley Hess
The toes are exposed. It's giving, like, bunion corrector for the heel. It's like a heel corrector. It looks medical.
Raina Greenberg
This is like, when you get the little buttons for your Crocs to, like, jazz up your Crocs. This is gonna jazz up your heel.
Ashley Hess
I would rather wear those running shoes with the toes than these. These camp. These are just rage bait, right? Like, this is not real. This is not a shoe by definition. It's just a heel cover and an ankle strap. Your toes are out.
Raina Greenberg
So I actually was trying to get some understanding what's happening under the foot. So this is on the Chanel Runway. They released these new shoes. I say shoes in quotes. On the Chanel Runway. It's just like a little cover for your heel. But is there anything under your foot?
Ashley Hess
No.
Raina Greenberg
At all?
Ashley Hess
No. And here's the thing again. This is.
Raina Greenberg
It's just full frontal toes.
Ashley Hess
Yes. This is funny, though. Like, this is not practical, and no one should fucking buy these. But on the Runway, sure. I want to be entertained. I will say the models, the pedicures weren't that great. I'm seeing close ups of these feet.
Raina Greenberg
Very men.
Ashley Hess
And I don't understand what's going on with these Chanel feet.
Raina Greenberg
Very mid. I mean, it was supposed to, I think, be just a virality moment, and that's fine.
Ashley Hess
Again, the same thing as the Met gala. Just entertain us.
Raina Greenberg
People got upset, though.
Ashley Hess
What did they say?
Raina Greenberg
Yet again, a man using a woman's body for shock value. I think not everything has to be the stage.
Ashley Hess
Stop sexualizing feet, people. Anyway, this is one of my pet peeves on the Internet.
Raina Greenberg
Sexualizing feet.
Ashley Hess
Yes. Like, if you show your toes. Everyone in the comments. Ooh, feet pics for free. Stop it.
Raina Greenberg
Kind of funny. It's like, I don't. You guys find a better joke? Like, it's.
Ashley Hess
I ne. It's all. It's fine. Like, if you want to make those jokes, it's fine. Shashank makes those jokes. He's my husband. Like, I'm just saying, like, sometimes I'm like, it's. Can we just. Can we just not even bring up the feed?
Raina Greenberg
But some people really are into coming on feet. Have your feet on their dicks and stuff. People really like it. So the rumored price of this is $2,700.
Ashley Hess
I don't understand. And high fashion on a lot of levels. You see stuff on the Runway, and I never really think, like, it's actually gonna be for sale. Like, I guess everything has a price. But I thought this was just for fun, like a joke. Yes.
Raina Greenberg
I mean, tbd if they're gonna actually release these.
Ashley Hess
But where are you. You have to wear. Are these inside shoes? You can't wear these on the street like this.
Raina Greenberg
So it reminds me of a panic in Needle park, the episode of Girls, and Marnie's walking around without shoes around. And she said that there was a piece of felt under her feet as she was. They glued felt to her feet so that she could film these scenes where she's walking around Manhattan with no shoes. And I'm wondering if that's what you do with these. I can't figure it out.
Ashley Hess
Okay. If you're walking around barefoot on the streets of New York, would you rather go to a hospital, have your. Get. Get tetanus? Would you rather have your heel covered or the ball of your foot covered?
Raina Greenberg
Heel.
Ashley Hess
Heel.
Raina Greenberg
Because I. Because I can walk on my heels. Okay.
Ashley Hess
I'm a ball of the foot girl. I don't walk that great heels. I. Guys. I'm not a model. You guys are figuring out this first time. I'm not a model. I put more pressure on the balls. Like, when I'm up on my feet all night or performing, the balls of my feet hurt worse when I get home. I also just think your. My heel is more calloused up. Like, I feel like I can withstand more on my heel.
Raina Greenberg
I think I'm going to revise my answer. I think that you can walk on your tiptoes a little bit on your
Ashley Hess
tiptoes as long as you're.
Raina Greenberg
That part's covered.
Ashley Hess
So maybe I'd buy the Chanel shoe foot accessory. If it was for the balls of your foot. I wouldn't.
Raina Greenberg
If it's for your Chanel, for your balls.
Ashley Hess
Okay, well, let's just take a quick break and then we will get back into it. So this show is sponsored by Liquid iv. I did drink a little much on the night of my special.
Raina Greenberg
You were a little slurry when I called you. I was like, I was just getting at it. Woke up, had a Liquid IV immediately.
Ashley Hess
I had the guava in a nice large glass of ice cold water. We love Liquid iv. We've been drinking it for years. We've mentioned this before. It was in my infamous wedding gift bags. It was in Raina's 40th birthday gift bags. And it's wonderful. It hydrates faster than water alone. It's three times the electrolytes of a leading sports drink, plus eight vitamins and nutrients all in a single stick. So we turn to this especially when we are on the go if we're partying, when it's hotter out and you just get more dehydrated.
Raina Greenberg
And they come in these travel packs also. So like also when we're traveling, it's nice to just throw in your bag or your suitcase if you're feeling a little run down. I also love that as well.
Ashley Hess
Yes. So just one stick and that's the 16 ounces of water hydrates faster than water alone. Powered by Liv Hydro Science and optimized ratio of electrolytes, essential vitamins and clinically tested nutrients that turn ordinary water into extraordinary hydration. I love the lemon, lime, grapefruit and guava, but they have sugar free formulas as well, like white peach, strawberry watermelon. Those are really good. So you guys can check it out. No better time. It's really going to be a lifesaver this summer. And now they have a sugar free flavor. Ring Pop.
Raina Greenberg
This is insane.
Ashley Hess
So if you love a Ring Pop, you guys can say yes to unforgettable moments with Liquid IV's new hydration multiplier. Sugar free ring Pop. Tear poor, live more. Go to liquidiv.com and get 20% off your first purchase with code GG at checkout. That's 20% off your first purchase with Code GGE@liquidiv.com.

Ashley Hess
GG okay, so the JP Morgan sex slave scandal, you don't know anything.
Raina Greenberg
I. It's rare that I. This is not something has not come across my desk at all.
Ashley Hess
You've been busy. You had all those shows.
Raina Greenberg
Whatever.
Ashley Hess
I cannot wait to educate you on this. Okay, so this has been a developing story since I believe last week. So this former JP Morgan employee identified as Shirayu Rana, I'm just going to call him Rana. He initially filed the lawsuit as John Doe, but it's his identity has since come out. So he filed a lawsuit accusing Lorna Hajini, a female executive director of the leverage finance team at J.B. morgan, of sexual assault, drugging and racial harassment starting in early 2024. So it sounds like they did have a relationship, but he alleges it was abusive. Okay, so some highlights from the lawsuit. Okay, so she roofied him and took advantage of him. She would say stuff, if you don't fuck me soon, I'm going to Ruin you. Never forget. I fucking own you. He alleges she told him that if he wanted to be promoted to executive director, he would need to start pleasing her during a work social event. He claims she told him, you're going to need to earn it, my little Arab boy toy. So there's like racial stuff in here too? Allegedly. She called him like a brownie. No, it's like crazy, okay? The pinnacle of all of it. She showed it to his apartment. The complaint claims that Hajdini then removed her shirt, fondled herself, insulted his wife, Rana's wife, telling him, the wife in the room, no, like. No, like your wife can't do it like this. Basically, so she says, I bet your little Asian fish head wife doesn't have these cannons. After dropping those bars, she forcibly removed his pants before performing oral sex on him against his will. He then claims. What is it?
Raina Greenberg
What is happening?
Ashley Hess
He then claims that. That he continued to protest and began crying. And then according to the lawsuit, she mocked him for crying and not getting hard. Stop fucking crying. You think anyone would ever believe you? You're a fucking douchebag who thinks he's hot shit, but you can't even get your dick hard for me. What the fuck is this? So then the lawsuit claims she ordered him to perform oral sex on her despite his pleas of please don't make me do this. According to the complaint, he feared she would retaliate against his career. Okay, so he files this lawsuit. He. It's. People are like, what out of what porn is this? And a lot of this doesn't sound real.
Raina Greenberg
Okay, listen, I want to.
Ashley Hess
What's your initiative?
Raina Greenberg
I want to believe men when they say that this happened to them. Okay, you've. I've never heard of this from a woman in my entire life. Of course she works in finance. This decide.
Ashley Hess
Do you believe that man?
Raina Greenberg
I don't believe any man.
Ashley Hess
Okay, so she denies it completely. Okay, is like, there. Where's your proof? This had. This didn't happen. JP Morgan does an investigation. There doesn't appear to be any proof. And he, Rana, who filed the complaint, doesn't cooperate with the investigation. What? There are no witnesses and there's no
Raina Greenberg
text messages or emails. This is not written down.
Ashley Hess
Yes, and of course a woman is
Raina Greenberg
smart enough to cover her tracks.
Ashley Hess
Well, Also, you're like, J.P. morgan's doing an internal investigation on one of their own executives. Whatever. Also, I also read that she's not even really his superior. Like, she's not his boss. I mean, maybe she has pull, but she's not his boss. And then so basically the general consensus is that this was completely fabricated. The craziest part is that he said that shit about his own wife. If he made this up, then he called his own wife that fish. Okay, so the lawsuit disappears. This goes away.
Raina Greenberg
What year was this?
Ashley Hess
This is last week. It started 2024. So then the lawsuit disappears, and the Internet is abuzz with. He clearly made this up. And, like, I know that women can be abusers, like, 3%, right? This situation. I don't think this happens in real life. Like, grown men, grown women in the workplace. You're my sex slave now. Like, I've. I don't.
Raina Greenberg
Showing up to his home and forcing him to do things.
Ashley Hess
But also, the cannons are the smoking gun. No one, no woman's like, I bet your wife doesn't have these cannons. That's not a thing. Okay, so the lawsuit disappears. He refiled it yesterday.
Raina Greenberg
Okay?
Ashley Hess
So it was withdrawn. He refiles it yesterday with new details, including testimony from a family friend. A family friend who claims to have witnessed her behavior in a New York City apartment where that guy was invited for a threesome. So allegedly, a family friend was invited into a threesome. So now he's gonna testify, I guess.
Raina Greenberg
Okay, A consensual threesome. Are there text messages? Is there email?
Ashley Hess
Think this isn't real. And here's what I'm gonna tell you. This is crazy. This guy in 2024 took three months leave of work because his father died.
Raina Greenberg
Okay?
Ashley Hess
His father's alive. He lied about his father died.
Raina Greenberg
That's crazy.
Ashley Hess
The father is out doing interviews. I didn't know about any of this. And they're like, aren't you dead? Three months of me from the grave faked his father's death. So pathological liar faked his father's death. And then people are saying KFC was saying this. He was saying that he took three months of leave preparing this lawsuit. What a crazy person.
Raina Greenberg
This is crazy. I mean, if you're gonna take three months, you should have some receipts at least of this stuff happening. Like, you should have spent the three months, like, photoshopping and, like, using Claude to create a backstory here. Like, of course, a man can't even correctly craft a case.
Ashley Hess
But there's. Yeah, there's. There's no proof. I mean, if there's.
Raina Greenberg
If there was proof, then this wouldn't be in question.
Ashley Hess
Yeah, this. This obviously. I mean, this is not a case of, like, he's lying. She's. I mean, whatever. Any sort of Abuse is wrong. But this guy who lied about his father dying, we'll never believe you. I'm on her side forever. And what people are saying, too, is that they had some sort of relationship and his wife found out, and that's why he overcorrected. Understand, but he's to say, yeah, I
Raina Greenberg
mean, that certainly can happen with people.
Ashley Hess
But.
Raina Greenberg
Wow. So this is a developing story. Yeah, he refiled, as we recorded, he
Ashley Hess
refiled the lawsuit with even more insane details. The threesome witness. I mean, still going for it.
Raina Greenberg
Some people will just. I mean, remember that Clayton from the bachelor woman that just got like, she just kept inventing stuff and she wouldn't stop. And, like, it was so clearly she. Basically, what happened with him is he was a realtor. He had a client he went out with, they hooked up, they didn't even have sex, and she faked a pregnancy, and this went on for months. And she involved lawyers, and she was blackmailing him, and it wasn't true. I mean, people will go to the ends of the earth to prove you just find the wrong crazy person.
Ashley Hess
Well, some people also want money out of a settlement. And no matter what, this harms her reputation forever. I mean, this is going to be tied to her name on the Internet forever. Wow. But I think she is still with JP Morgan. Like, they're like, you didn't do anything wrong. This crazy kid is making this up. That's what it appears to see, but, you know, we'll see.
Raina Greenberg
This is crazy.
Ashley Hess
So I just wanted to fill you in on that.
Raina Greenberg
Wow.
Ashley Hess
This is Shashank's Roman Empire.
Raina Greenberg
I have to leave now.
Ashley Hess
Like, also, as a brown guy, like, he's reading this, and he's just like, this is crazy. Because if he made this up, he's making up racial slurs about himself and his.
Raina Greenberg
The thing about the wife is the craziest part. Like, if I'm his wife, I'm like, why did you have to drag me into this? This is crazy.
Ashley Hess
So that's developing story. We will keep you guys posted.
Raina Greenberg
I just finished a book. I'm reading another book. I just want to tell you about them. So maybe one of top five favorite books I've ever read, Yesteryear by Cara Clare Burke.
Ashley Hess
I'm like, halfway through, I'm blowing through it.
Raina Greenberg
So this is a book about a trad wife who is a social media influencer. It's heavily based on Ballerina Farm Hannah Nealman, who has 10 million followers, and she is the most famous trad wife of all time. She's about to have her ninth kid.
Ashley Hess
Most famous trad wife, pretty much ninth. Really.
Raina Greenberg
She's pregnant with her ninth baby. She is in real life, she's married to a man whose family owns JetBlue airlines. Very wealthy family. Anyways, this book is about an influencer trad wife who wakes up one day in 1855 as an actual trad wife. And you go back and forth every chapter between 1855 and current day. And you're trying to figure out throughout the whole book how did she get there? And so you're like, is she having a mental breakdown? She hallucinating? Is this a dream? Did she actually time travel? And it's so fascinating just talking about women in social media today and people's quote unquote brands and what religion has done to women and what money and the patriarchy has done to women and what people will transform themselves into to be influencers today. And I was hanging on every single word.
Ashley Hess
I am so riveted. It is so well written. It opens so hot. It opens. And like do you think she kind of. It appears that she's being interviewed or she's kind of. Well, don't tell me.
Raina Greenberg
She is being interviewed throughout the whole book and you're not sure for what or by whom. And you will find out in the final chapter.
Ashley Hess
So then it cuts right to 1855 like Raina said. And then it oscillates back and forth like not even chapter by chapter. You just cut. You can figure it out, it's pretty clear. But then they go back to her in essentially high school, college, and how she got there and how she met her husband. It's so enthralling. Like all I want to do is read this fucking book. I'm resentful of all the work we have to do because I can't just read it. I mean I'm reading it and digesting it, but reading it very fast. It's a big book. I'm almost halfway done. I've only had two quick plane flights and I'm just can't stop. So. So it's one of the hottest books right now. It's so, so wonderful. And yeah, Reyna can't like spoil it cause I'm. I don't really know. And that when you describe it, my initial reaction is what I. And what I typically like to read is like eh, it sounds a little fantasy, a little unrealistic. It doesn't fucking matter. It's. I am so into it. You don't have to like an unrealistic Fantasy type story to appreciate it.
Raina Greenberg
Yeah, you're wondering the whole time, is this sci fi? Did she really wake up in 1855?
Ashley Hess
She thinks she's on set maybe.
Raina Greenberg
Yes. Like a Truman show kind of thing. The ending delivered so hard for me. I couldn't believe how they wrapped it up. Like it blew my fucking mind. I read it three times. I just had to like redigest what happened.
Ashley Hess
I'm just gonna abandon everything. Sorry guys, we're not gonna do the show tonight.
Raina Greenberg
And if you want more from the author, Kate Kennedy just interviewed her on her own podcast. She did be there in five and so she said she just absolutely loved her and it was great. And I tagged the book on my story and the author messaged me to just say thank you. She seems so, so great. I just love the book.
Ashley Hess
Is this her first book?
Raina Greenberg
I think it's her debut novel and I can't. Don't quote me on that.
Ashley Hess
So my friend Brooke, who her and I share books a lot. She's actually like getting a higher education in library science and she's just a big book person. She was leaving my house, she came over to watch the special and she had two books in her hand. She was just out my bookcase and I'm like, take whatever you want. And she comes over, she has Strangers by Belle Burden, which we loved and was yesteryear in her hand. She goes, I'm gonna take these two. I go, no. And some of. Hallie was right there. She laughed. Cause I go, no, that's not. When you can take. I have a. That's.
Raina Greenberg
They still have the tags on them.
Ashley Hess
You can't take my shirt. But like everybody laughed. I like gasped. She's like, okay, girl, I'm not. I won't take it.
Raina Greenberg
Well, I can't wait for you to finish it. And just like I can't stop talking about it. It's phenomenal. My sister in law is reading it for her book club. Everybody I talk to about it is like, I'm reading it currently. And the other book that I'm reading is Fame Sick by Lena Dunham. And this is her second book. She's the creator and star of Girls, which is a really just important show in my life. It's a top five show of all time for me. And it's really fascinating. You know, she. I didn't really think about this really because she got such a bad rap. I mean people really dislike her and hated her in the media and she's gotten a lot of really, really negative press. But in the book, she really talks about how she wrote this movie called Tiny Furniture that she self produced, she released it, and. And pretty much overnight was offered this deal by HBO to write and produce and create Star and Girls. And she was 24, and she was handed this tremendous amount of success. It's an amount of a level of success I can't even comprehend. And I think a lot of people, they sort of whelm around in the middle in terms of success for a long time before you're catapulted to that level of, like, you're winning Emmys, you know, and she sort of overnight got catapulted into this and was a very sick person mentally and physically, and was really struggling with that in the public eye. And she just talks about it a lot. Her substance abuse problems, her eating disorder issues, all the physical issues in and out of hospitals just continuously. And sort of Girls was six or seven seasons. I forget how many. And the work sort of never stopped. It was, you know, write the show, act in the show, edit the show. She never stopped at this very young
Ashley Hess
age, 24, like, I'd be canceled. Like, I just wouldn't do something, you know?
Raina Greenberg
And this was also the time where, like, TikTok and Instagram wasn't really around. You couldn't just, like, get on your Instagram story and be like, this isn't true what people are saying about me.
Ashley Hess
So wrong. Taking out of context, whatever it was,
Raina Greenberg
it gave me a lot of empathy for her and, like, what she must have been going through at that age. And you guys should read if you're a fan of Girls. The most interesting thing I learned from this is her and Adam Driver really had no relationship with each other. They didn't speak for the last three years of the show at all.
Ashley Hess
Like, just film together, even film it.
Raina Greenberg
So they wrote their relationship kind of off the show. He dates another actress, and then he ends up with Jemima Kirk for the last two seasons. And so they actually don't really act together at all.
Ashley Hess
Oh, okay.
Raina Greenberg
And so they really had no relationship. She makes. She paints a pretty terrible portrait of him.
Ashley Hess
Not.
Raina Greenberg
Not as a terrible person, just somebody who just, like, wasn't very kind and pretty much wanted nothing to do with him.
Ashley Hess
Tour. Interesting. I cannot wait to read it. I am loving her press tour. There's some sound bites that have, like, stuck with me.
Raina Greenberg
Is it the quiet luxury sound bite?
Ashley Hess
No, I. I just saw one on Drew Barrymore about her talking about the stuff that we as women do. I feel like emotional talk. I Just have. I've really enjoyed watching her talk about this book and going all these shows and, and she looks different than she used to, you know, And I, I like when she talks about physical appearances and she says, Seth was saying something about what we do as women and why we do it. And you say it's for yourself, but how are you supposed to know anymore? And Drew Barrymore is stunned and it is like, stuck with me so much. Like, how are we supposed to know? Like, I, I've just, I've had a lot of thoughts and feelings about what we do, standards of beauty, why we do it, who fucking cares why we care. And I've just been really inspired by seeing her and I cannot wait to read the book. And I love that she's back in this way. She's spreading a positive message and being so fucking funny. What did I see? I saw she with Andy Cohen. She was talking about Summer House and just fucking nailing it. That's funny. Yeah. Yeah.
Raina Greenberg
Anyway, so I liked it. I just, I think that she got a really, really bad rap and I forgot just how young she was and all this happened. And when she talks about how the work just, just never stopped for one minute and just how deeply sick she was, I mean, she was just hospitalized continuously.
Ashley Hess
Yeah. And like chronic pain and I can't imagine extreme pain. People who go through that. Does she have like, endometriosis?
Raina Greenberg
She had endometriosis. She had like, like at one point, I think they removed 30 ulcers from her uterus. She had a hysterectomy, which is like, they won't give you a hysterectomy unless you get like a psychoval.
Ashley Hess
So my friend just did all of it taken out. She had this endo forever. Heidi, who was at my wedding, Heidi L E I S is her Instagram. And she's been documenting the journey and like went and got this surgery in, in Mexico and got it all taken out and like her recovery and like just her life of living with that for so long and I, I'm gonna cry. But like her husband, I became friends with him first. That's how I know her. I've known him for so many years. And he said, I want to go back to all the places that we traveled when you were sick because you should be able to experience, experience them pain free. Oh, I can't handle it. Like, and you just see people like that and they show up for you and they're, they're building businesses, they're doing stuff and you're like they're in so much pain. Their, their bodies are failing them.
Raina Greenberg
Yeah.
Ashley Hess
And they still, still came to the wedding. You wouldn't know it, you know, like Lena Dunham created so much incredible art while she was dealing with that. I mean, this is the story of so many women just pushing past the pain.
Raina Greenberg
And I felt that the tone of the book wasn't like, give me a break. I felt the tone was just like, here's the story. It wasn't like, you know, I was so terrible, but here. Yeah, feel bad for me. It's just like, here's what was happening and that's all, that's how I digested the tone. And I mean, it's just, it's a lot of medical trauma. And she was with Jack Antonoff this whole time. I didn't realize that was her boyfriend almost the entire time. She was start to finish all of Girls the whole time. She was creating, writing, producing it. I'm starring in it. So they had a very long time relationship, which I didn't realize.
Ashley Hess
Well, I can't wait to read it. Okay, let's just talk about our remaining partners and we will wrap up with some headlines for you guys. I am telling you about no cd. So this is something that can really help if you have intrusive thoughts or ocd, especially surrounding relationships. Everyone has doubts or anxieties about their relationship from time to time. But for some people, those doubts and anxieties feel all consuming and impossible. Possible to move on from. So these can be things like creating a mentalist of your partner's pros and cons while panicking about whether you made the wrong choice. Constantly researching signs you're with the right person online. Having a random dream about spending your life with another person, but feeling guilty and terrified about what that might mean. Asking your partner over and over again if they're really happy with you, even though they already said yes many times. So this can be a relationship ocd. And so many people think OCD is just about cleaning or organizing. But that stereotype couldn't be more wrong. It really is a serious condition where distressing, unwanted thoughts get stuck on repeat and you feel driven to do certain mental or physical behaviors called compulsions to make the anxiety stop. So it is exhausting. It can make it feel like making real connections with others is impossible, but it is super treatable. The most treatable mental health condition when you get the right kind of specialized therapy, which is ERP therapy, Exposure and response prevention. So that is the most effective treatment. Regular talk therapy isn't recommended, it can actually make the OCD work. So that is why we're telling you about nocd. NOCD is the world's leading OCD treatment provider and all of their licensed therapists specialize in erp, the exposure and response prevention, which is the treatment that is actually going to be effective therapy with no seeds, 100% virtual, covered by insurance for over 138 million Americans and includes support between sessions. So if any of this sounds like you or someone you care about, visit nocd.com and book a free 15 minute call with their team to learn more about how NOCD can help. That's n o c d.com and telling

Okay, some fun headlines for you guys, I'm going to kick it off with the Derby, which the horse that won Golden Tempo makes Sherry Devoe the first women trainer to win the Kentucky Derby. Did you see anything about this?
Raina Greenberg
So I'm surprised because, you know, dirt horse. Horse riders. What are they called?
Ashley Hess
Horse girls?
Raina Greenberg
No, but like men that ride horses. Jockeys, they're little, they're tiny. So like, I'm surprised women don't win.
Ashley Hess
I listen, I've never cared about this till now, so I just need to share with you guys what happened. So we're in Phenix with my husband and his in laws. We just had it on the tv. We were taking a break. We'd been at the lane by the pool. We had dinner plans. We're like, we'll put the Derby on, right? So we all just start saying like, pick a horse. We don't know anything. You know, everyone just starts picking a horse. Shashank's looking at the favorites. He's looking at what people are betting. I literally just google, are there any women involved? Is there? Because I know there's a jockey and a trainer. I literally google, are there any women trainers? It said, there's one woman trainer, Sherry Devoe. Golden Tempo was the horse. I go, guys, we're rooting for Golden Tempo. That's my pick. The race starts a minute later. Golden Tempo is not in the running. Like they have the leaderboard. He's in the back, this horse is in the back. And all of a sudden the horse comes from behind, passes everyone on the outside, just fucking going so enthralled and wins the race.
Raina Greenberg
That's crazy. And I've never cared about this for one minute in my life.
Ashley Hess
The video, we'll put this up on the screen, but there's these side by sides of showing the trainer and she's with these other women. Have you seen it? She's going fucking crazy. She's like up on the wall, like kicking her feet and going absolutely berserk. And she's screaming for the jockey, which really she was, was saying his name. She's like, jose, let's go, Jose. And fucking wins it. The first woman to ever win.
Raina Greenberg
I don't care about this at all, but if you narrate horse races, I will listen.
Ashley Hess
But I have never cared. I've never. I know some horses name. So I think Golden Tempo is a descendant of Secretariat. I know that one. I don't care about this and I've never cared more. And just watching these horses go and like that, people were saying, he didn't even whip the horse at that last moment. Like he, the horse just knew to go. I could cry right now.
Raina Greenberg
Wow.
Ashley Hess
Golden Temple. What I'm telling you, not even top
Raina Greenberg
10 women in STEM.
Ashley Hess
And at the very end bypasses all these because you know, they run around on the inside. So it's like a shorter goes around.
Raina Greenberg
Took the longer route, took the long route.
Ashley Hess
Blinders on go. So I, and I was like, do we remember two minutes ago when I said that's the horse I wanted to win?
Raina Greenberg
Like, I'm like, I wish I could get some attention, please.
Ashley Hess
I wish I would have posted that. And so I was like, I can't even believe this. I've never cared once. A quick Google right before it starts. Here's who we're rooting for.
Raina Greenberg
You have to look that up.
Ashley Hess
I just was like, it's such a male dominated sport. Totally even with all the horse girls out there. We need more horse girls in high places.
Raina Greenberg
Okay.
Ashley Hess
So that's what happened.
Raina Greenberg
I'm gonna actually blow through a bunch of secret lives and Mormons wives quickly.
Ashley Hess
So we're down with that. Okay. Yeah.
Raina Greenberg
ABC announced that it might air the Bachelorette this summer. They're in talks. So I mean, they will find a way to monetize this. It's abc. Of course they will. They're just like, you guys will forget about it, right? You guys will just forget what happened. Whitney Levitt announced that she is exiting the show on her final performance, starring in Chicago. So she's out. She's done with the show. Taylor, Frankie Paul and Dakota Mortensen. They were granted permanent restraining orders against the other person.
Ashley Hess
Permanent. They share a child.
Raina Greenberg
I've never even heard that before in my life. A permanent. Not like, oh, we'll re evaluate this.
Ashley Hess
They have a kid together forever.
Raina Greenberg
Permanent.
Ashley Hess
They'll work around it. They're. Fuck it.
Raina Greenberg
Those two will find a way. Yeah, that's it. Those are my secret labs and more. Okay, so airing the trial. I've said sorry, they're airing the trial. So we've been able to watch inside the courtroom of Taylor and, and Dakota.
Ashley Hess
Okay. What? But, but the show. Let's just. The Bachelorette, like they have to air it. I, I said last week, I was like, put it behind a paywall. For $1,000, people would watch that fucking season. Like people want to see it.
Raina Greenberg
When people said that ABC was losing tens of millions, I was like, hundreds of millions.
Ashley Hess
Who.
Raina Greenberg
Where did you get it? It probably cost tens of millions to produce the show. But the, the. Forfeiture of ad revenue. ABC is gonna find a way to air this show, but it's also like,
Ashley Hess
compared to what they have, it's like a drop in the bucket. But it will do better than anything now.
Raina Greenberg
Of course it will.
Ashley Hess
Insane. Okay, so watch the space. Okay, we're back on it.
Raina Greenberg
Spirit Airlines shut down. So they were rumored to be shutting down, and I thought that they were gonna wind down operations, but no. Full company shutdown. All flights canceled. All employees terminated over overnight.
Ashley Hess
Overnight. They were hoping for a government bailout. Sure. So there's been, like, jokes and memes, of course. I mean, the funniest meme I saw was hanging the Spirit Halloween sign over the Spirit Airlines plane. Did you see that?
Raina Greenberg
I saw a lot of flags at half mast and pretty. I couldn't figure out why.
Ashley Hess
But it is sad. I mean, these people lost their jobs. I was seeing some tiktoks of pilots giving their. On their final flight and their remarks and then these flight attendants. And so of course, we feel for anybody. I mean, you dedicate your life to this job and it just is over overnight. And it's crazy to shut down an airline without notice because people have returned flights.
Raina Greenberg
No, people were saying, we were at the airport stranded. Cause we couldn't get on these flights.
Ashley Hess
I feel like I need more information. Like, why couldn't they give more notice like they. They could have, right? Like they.
Raina Greenberg
So they were in the running for a $500 million government bailout. It fell through. So, yes, they have known for a
Ashley Hess
long time, but they just had no more money to operate for one more week. And I know fuel prices are high and that played into it. But like, you don't have enough money to operate for one more week. And just to give people who were on a trip with a return flight and more of an option, like, that's insane. I am shocked by it. Maybe you guys can explain it in the comments, but I can't imagine a business just can't have a little more Runway. No pun intended.
Raina Greenberg
I mean, they knew this was happening. 17,000 employees lost their jobs. They stopped operations just overnight. Canceled all flights on May 2. So it is a pretty shocking, crazy thing. And in general, fuel has gotten extremely expensive. I mean, gas prices. It costs me 650 a gallon this week to fill up my tank. And I was like, who can afford to drive?
Ashley Hess
It's so crazy.
Raina Greenberg
Like, flights have gotten exorbitantly. I. I don't even. Like, I actually, like, I used to fly first class a lot. I'm just not I'd refuse to pay these prices.
Ashley Hess
Prices are unhinged.
Raina Greenberg
I won't do it.
Ashley Hess
Did you ever fly Spirit?
Raina Greenberg
I've not. I maybe have flown Spirit once or twice here. I. I do EasyJet a lot in Europe and those type of airlines.
Ashley Hess
Yeah. The cheaper air. I never flew it.
Raina Greenberg
Oh, yeah, I have a couple times.
Ashley Hess
I flew budget airlines back in my 20s and like, AirTran was one. I used to fly a lot, but I never flew Spirit. I flew Frontier Watch, that was. But I've never. I've never flown it. So Rip. I'm sorry I never got to experience it. I think someone was saying they had a perfect track record. No accidents.
Raina Greenberg
No accidents. It's like the only airline. It ends up being expensive. If you want to select a seat, bring a bag on, have a seat belt. So like, stop.
Ashley Hess
Have a tray table.
Raina Greenberg
Okay.
Ashley Hess
And lastly, Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni,
Raina Greenberg
they reach a shocking settlement to their legal battle two weeks before they go to trial.
Ashley Hess
So this is crazy.
Raina Greenberg
This is, by the way, extremely crazy because.
Ashley Hess
And we deserved a trial.
Raina Greenberg
Yes, we did. And also, like, there is very little information known about the settlement. It is a closed settlement. People are saying no money was exchanged.
Ashley Hess
We don't need the money. This was all for fun. This was all free ago.
Raina Greenberg
This is just money.
Ashley Hess
Yeah.
Raina Greenberg
All remaining claims have been dropped. So no trial. There is a mutual release of liability, possible non disparagement terms, but like, that's it. Cleanly and quietly. So why were we all dragged through the mud for years? Just give us the trial.
Ashley Hess
Why were we dragged? Why were we dragged through the mud as people who had nothing to do with this?
Raina Greenberg
I had nothing better to do.
Ashley Hess
I'm not surprised. I knew these high profile AAB listers would not fucking go to trial. Come on now. What was the point of this? Why were we teased with it? Exactly. What was the point of this? I'm 100%.
Raina Greenberg
Why did we release Taylor's and Ben Affleck's text messages if we weren't going to go to Trump?
Ashley Hess
Taylor Swift right now is like all my fucking texts for nothing.
Raina Greenberg
For what?
Ashley Hess
And then Blake Livesley shows up on the Met Gala carpet, which I guess, boss move. I. And listen, I hated that dress. But she still did a thing.
Raina Greenberg
She. She at least tried.
Ashley Hess
I'd rather hate something. I'd rather than be bored by. Yeah. At least I can feel something. Okay, guys, well, that is your snack. Girls gotta eat.com. see you tonight at the show here in LA.
