Ronna Glickman
Hi.
Chelsea Devante
I'll be 100% honest with you.
Ronna Glickman
Huh?
Chelsea Devante
I'll be 10 out of 10 honest with you.
Ronna Glickman
You know what do Percentages, fractions.
Chelsea Devante
This is one of those rare occasions where we recorded the interview before we're doing this.
Ronna Glickman
So remarkably, the first sentence of this intro is a callback.
Chelsea Devante
But we basically. Well, that's what's fun because they're gonna find out.
Ronna Glickman
But it's like Inception.
Chelsea Devante
Yeah, yeah. It's like a, you know, Matrushka.
Ronna Glickman
Whatever. Challenges.
Chelsea Devante
Don said. Oh, I didn't see that. Shall I.
Ronna Glickman
So fun. Rana, Is it so fun?
Chelsea Devante
I spent a lot of time with Zendaya this weekend because we forgot to say this. I. Oh, not in person, darling. Well, I was watching the two Dune movies because we're going to do our Oscar podcast again this year.
Ronna Glickman
I do.
Chelsea Devante
How are we just telling people this now?
Ronna Glickman
I got to be honest with you, I don't know. No, no, no. Because I was just thinking in my head. It's funny because at first blush people might think this year doesn't seem as exciting as last year, which had.
Chelsea Devante
There's nothing. There's nothing.
Ronna Glickman
However, I disagree. I. For instance, I love the Dune movies. I really like Donora. I really loved.
Chelsea Devante
I don't want to hear what you liked and didn't like because you're going to hear it on the podcast. All right.
Ronna Glickman
And I am going to say that challengers deserved a few nominations. It didn't get. I'm going to say that on that.
Chelsea Devante
Show, we are going to have Adam be Madame Very back.
Ronna Glickman
Madame Bovary is back.
Chelsea Devante
And Kate Arthur, of course.
Ronna Glickman
Kate Arthur.
Chelsea Devante
I don't know. You know, I'm thinking about bringing Richard in something.
Ronna Glickman
Ronna, this is the second year in a row, or maybe third you have said this dangling. You are. It's so mean.
Chelsea Devante
I'd love to do a. I would do a wrap up with Richard if he'd like to do.
Ronna Glickman
Oh, in a second. Richard's so fabulous.
Brian Safi
Yeah.
Chelsea Devante
But he's.
Ronna Glickman
You know, we both said that we needed more friends and. And so we met up in New York and became friends. Yeah.
Chelsea Devante
And are you friends now or not?
Ronna Glickman
I think we're friends.
Chelsea Devante
Yeah. The truth is, though, to be totally honest, is that Richard is. You don't. I hope Kate and Adam don't heal this, but Richard is usually genuinely so busy in the lead up to the Oscars that he has not previously really been able to join us. So that's. I mean, all jokes aside, will you invite me to Venice again this year? Not yet.
Ronna Glickman
I've been trying to get him. I've sort of behind the scenes, been trying to put a bug in his hearer to do. I want to do an expose on. Actually, I probably shouldn't say any more than that.
Chelsea Devante
Okay.
Ronna Glickman
In any event, it's about the inner workings of a. And the sort of emotional abuse and rollercoaster ride that is creating a. Or is participating in a podcast. I should probably not say anymore, though, because there are certain people involved in another word.
Chelsea Devante
Not another word.
Ronna Glickman
Okay. Yeah.
Chelsea Devante
You don't want someone to steal your idea. I will say this as a preview. I had an incredible idea, and if anybody steals it, I'll know where they stole it from, as usual. No, it's inside of the episode that people are about to hear, and I really felt that you did not. I feel like I don't even the way that I thought I would.
Ronna Glickman
Can you repeat it again?
Chelsea Devante
No, because it's an Easter egg inside of the episode.
Ronna Glickman
All right.
Chelsea Devante
But what I will say is this. We had Chelsea Devontes with us today. We had so much fun, and we have such a long chat with her at the beginning of the episode.
Ronna Glickman
It's fun, though, because pop culture and Politics.
Chelsea Devante
Yeah, that we just kept eating those chocolates one after the other, popping them in. And so what we're going to do is give you a very short intro. We're just going to get straight to it. We basically did a long intro with her.
Ronna Glickman
Just very quickly. Can I read a couple of these comments?
Chelsea Devante
Oh, yeah, please. So when we talked about my email while you do that.
Ronna Glickman
Okay. Ronna. When we talked about marathon runners last week, Ross said.
Chelsea Devante
Yeah. Oh, boy. Boy, did you feel this? The. The earth, the seismic quakes?
Ronna Glickman
I was expecting it to. When Brian said that he thinks marathon runners are a little bit basic, I feel like he looked into my soul and judged me as I really am. I'm shaken. That was Ross, who's running the Los Angeles Marathon in March. Also, this was about traveling with large groups. Dear Ron and Brian, I was absolutely giddy when you mentioned my letter from almost two years ago about the stress I was feeling about Trav internationally with a group of fellow fruits. I couldn't agree more with the advice you gave last week's trepidatious traveler. Your advice helped me a great deal, and I'm sure the letter writer will find comfort in your excellent advice as well. But I do have a couple things to add from personal experience.
Chelsea Devante
Oh, boy, here we go. Someone that left the country once wants to tell us how to do it.
Ronna Glickman
First, give yourself permission to be spontaneous.
Chelsea Devante
We did that.
Ronna Glickman
We did plan some things, but don't over plan. We said that. Pick a day to go to the Lou, for instance. But give yourself time to wander around Lemire. We said that if you over schedule.
Chelsea Devante
You to do that.
Ronna Glickman
Yeah. Second, if there's something you really want to do but no one else does, don't be afraid to go. Did this person not hear our answer? I'm not even going to read the rest now.
Chelsea Devante
Come on, read it. Because he's a nice guy.
Ronna Glickman
Second, if there's something that you really want to do but no one else does, don't be afraid to go alone or be sneaky. Move the group in that general direction, then conveniently find yourself next to it, which sounds like a Brian plant. It is like, oh my God. Do you know what that is?
Chelsea Devante
The Louvre. How do we get in?
Ronna Glickman
How do we do this? You'd be surprised that once people are in front of something, how likely they are to change their minds. Good tactic. I used that tactic when I wanted to tour the Palais Garnier and everyone.
Chelsea Devante
Was so is a good tactic. Yeah.
Ronna Glickman
Happy that they decided to go. Oops. Who put this Giant opera house here. It works every time. I adore you both and I'm so happy you're back from your much deserved vacations. Kiss, kiss. And five stars forever. You know what? That was good advice. All right, Ronna, should we get into Chelsea?
Chelsea Devante
Let's get. I don't think that's right. How to say that. I just don't. You know, and I don't think she'd appreciate it either.
Ronna Glickman
Listen, we're about to talk about with Chelsea, everything from Ivanka's hair extension, hair.
Chelsea Devante
Extensions, Jennifer Aniston Obama. By the way, we haven't mentioned this in a million years, which is by that I mean two minutes. The patreon.com ask around. A newsletter. Pat.
Ronna Glickman
Oh, my God.
Chelsea Devante
Which Chelsea basically mentions that I didn't have the Hot Teller. We already do have a newsletter. When she said, you need to get a newsletter, I said, that's important. Embarrassing. But in any event, in the newsletter, this is what we do at the top. This is like a table of contents of what's going to be below it. So here's the table of contents for this conversation. Ivanka's extension.
Ronna Glickman
Yep. Barack and Jennifer.
Chelsea Devante
Michelle.
Ronna Glickman
Barack, Jennifer, who we think Michelle should.
Chelsea Devante
Be with if it's true. Alice and Larry or whatever that movie was called, Right?
Ronna Glickman
Yeah. Bob and Carol and Ted and Alice.
Chelsea Devante
That's the one.
Ronna Glickman
I wish Larry would have been one of those.
Chelsea Devante
Michelle, Barack, Bob Carroll, Ted and Alice.
Ronna Glickman
By the way, Natalie, what else did we cover?
Chelsea Devante
Justin and Blake. Blake Beldoni V. Kendrick's jeans.
Ronna Glickman
We covered everything.
Chelsea Devante
Kendrick jeans. It's all in there. We care. We covered his J E A N S and his G E N E S's.
Ronna Glickman
We did. We talked about everything. Because it turns out you and Kendrick are the same heights.
Chelsea Devante
Same person, some would say. Don't you remember my rendition of all the stuff?
Ronna Glickman
Oh, yeah.
Chelsea Devante
Tell me what you're gonna do.
Ronna Glickman
You were. Kendrick died with Sza.
Chelsea Devante
And speaking of which, Kendrick. We sort of again made Kendrick and Sza what they are today. If you look back at it. If you really look back at it. But speaking of which, that's a throwback to one of our old Oscar specials. So there you go.
Ronna Glickman
And we have an Oscar special coming up.
Chelsea Devante
All right, let's do it. Let's go to the interview. How does that sound?
Ronna Glickman
That's more like it.
Chelsea Devante
Wait a minute.
Ronna Glickman
Oh, my gosh.
Chelsea Devante
Glamorous trash. That's all I want to say.
Ronna Glickman
Glamorous trash.
Chelsea Devante
I've known this person for some time and I.
Ronna Glickman
Which I did not know, and if I had known that, I'm not sure I would have wanted her on because it's starting to feel a little bit too against one.
Chelsea Devante
I feel like I would have called a glamorous trash behind her back. And now it's all out in the open. How does that sound?
Brian Safi
That is such a compliment.
Chelsea Devante
I wouldn't have known that that's what I wanted to call her. And then she said it and I said, great, I love it.
Brian Safi
She's owning her trash.
Chelsea Devante
It's a brand I can get behind. Well, it's a high low. It's a classic high low, which is my absolute favorite thing in the history of the world, by the way.
Brian Safi
You're an animal. Print. We get it. We get it.
Chelsea Devante
Somebody sent me many eggs yesterday. People know me.
Ronna Glickman
That's already out.
Chelsea Devante
They came from England in a box from Aaron Patterson. Who?
Ronna Glickman
I thought they were only Easter branded. That's already happening from West.
Chelsea Devante
Well, you know, Easter studs, December 26th.
Ronna Glickman
Sure, that's true.
Chelsea Devante
But for. For Cadbury. But my point really, Chelsea, is that it's a true compliment because high low, to me is the most elevated existence that a person can have. No, she the good or it isn't.
Ronna Glickman
She is the definition of writing. But it often is hilarious smart comedy that. That can come across deliberately as dumb. Which I like. Girls 5eva, for instance. Yeah, is one of those shows that's so funny and so smart, but when you look at the concept, you're like, that is the dumbest thing I've ever seen in my life. And it's just brilliant. So.
Chelsea Devante
But this is what we need.
Ronna Glickman
That's what I'm saying.
Chelsea Devante
This is what we need is. Can we just have a laugh? Does everything have to be Ted goddamn Lasso? Not to mention she's hot. Has to be made to the end of an episode. Give me a break.
Ronna Glickman
She's Emmy nominated. She's a national best selling author with probably the greatest title of a memoir ever. I shouldn't be telling you this, but I'm going to anyway, if that's not titillating.
Brian Safi
Thank you. Because they actually. They threw my. They threw the title. I wanted out the door. And so this, this was the runner up.
Ronna Glickman
This was the compromise.
Brian Safi
Oh, my God.
Chelsea Devante
By the way, tell us what your title was.
Ronna Glickman
Would.
Brian Safi
Would love to. So first, a little prep.
Chelsea Devante
Welcome Chelsea Devonta. Should we say?
Ronna Glickman
Oh, yeah, we didn't say her name.
Chelsea Devante
I'm not sure we did. I think they already knew. We didn't have to. Is that a Cheeto bag? Behind you, a flaming hot Cheeto.
Brian Safi
This is. Okay, this is actually the artwork for Glamorous Trash. So that is so good.
Chelsea Devante
Flaming Hot Cheetos painting, let's say Chelsea.
Brian Safi
You know, obviously narcissistic, Glamorous Trash. On the Walmart mascara, we got a perfume that says Psychic Moment. And then we just got some flowers in a jar.
Ronna Glickman
Yeah, classy, gorgeous.
Brian Safi
Yeah, all the elements. So my mom taught me what she said was a prayer. Okay? And the prayer had four. It had four parts to it.
Chelsea Devante
If you're walking out of the store and they say, you stole this, you say, oh, I forgot to pay for it. Was that kind of a prayer?
Brian Safi
Oh, oh, that's a good ass prayer. No, this one was if you're. If you're really like upset about something, someone, you think about them and you say, I love you, please forgive me. Thank you. And then she was like, what was the last one? Hmm, I can't remember. How about fuck you, I love you, please forgive me. Thank you. And fuck you. And so the title I tried to do my book was I love you, please forgive me, Fuck you. And apparently if you put FU on the COVID no, they said Amazon will bury you. And Amazon is life. And so you can't say fuck you.
Chelsea Devante
But that can't be true because what was the book? The Subtle Art of Not Giving an.
Brian Safi
F. So what they said was that if my book was like, I'm a fucking badass, they'd be like, oh, to print. But because it was F you, fuck you, the reader or something like the way I was using it. Not allowed. Not allowed.
Chelsea Devante
Well, we can't have Emma's not burying us.
Brian Safi
I said, this is a prayer. This is spiritual. How dare you infringe upon my rights.
Chelsea Devante
This is a prayer. My mother taught me. Well, the irony of this country is actually this, you know, I guess you have a right to expression, but this whole idea that, you know, religion is a right is absurd. You can be whatever religion you want. But my point is the way that they've brought it into politics and nationhood drives me.
Ronna Glickman
And by the way, it's so. The way they've done it is so satanic and twisted and perverted, like it really is underworld behavior to do it so sinister like that.
Chelsea Devante
Oh, no, the whole thing is a crazy cult. And then. And that they've then sort of rebranded as goodness. I mean, even, you know, AOC the other day was talking about how. Not the other day, but whenever. About how unchristian. Absolutely. All of this is.
Ronna Glickman
Oh, it's Disgusting.
Brian Safi
Oh, yeah.
Ronna Glickman
Is she the only Democrat talking, doing corporations?
Brian Safi
I think Bernie's been tweeting. He's got some good Instagram memes.
Ronna Glickman
But, yes, it's true.
Chelsea Devante
Can I tell you, Chuck Schumer got awful quiet.
Brian Safi
Yeah. Honestly, though, that's good. That's nice. Take a backseat. Let. Let someone else forward, my friend.
Ronna Glickman
Right.
Brian Safi
You shouldn't be the face.
Chelsea Devante
Then. Then step forward. No one is stepping forward. It's driving me crazy.
Ronna Glickman
I think they're trying to build something. But, Chelsea, what were you. What were you. What was on the tip of your tongue just now?
Brian Safi
Well, something. A devastating thought I had recently when I was reading one of these viral articles about how the new alt right are, like, actually super hot and cool. Such a lie, right? Is that their party does. I got this from my friend Sierra. Their party actually does have a lot of grace in that. If you get canceled, if you assault someone, if you do whatever, they're like, come on in. We forgive you. No big deal. And when it occurred to me that that was like, maybe their only Christian ideal is, like, forgiveness, I thought, okay, I get why so many people go over there. They're like, oh.
Chelsea Devante
But the flip side of that is that they're bigger cancelers than anybody else. So that's the.
Brian Safi
Of course.
Ronna Glickman
No, it is that that brand of forgiveness is really spectacular because even amongst MAGA voters, they say things like, well, yes, Trump has done some bad things, but, you know, you forget you have to forgive people like that. And it's like, I even get that a little.
Chelsea Devante
Give anyone you want.
Ronna Glickman
But isn't step one that person taking accountability for the things they do is.
Chelsea Devante
They don't.
Ronna Glickman
Forgiveness for it?
Chelsea Devante
Yeah. You know, it's the sort of idea that, you know, we're all a big God's family, and here we are in our church together, and we bring in the waywards and the poor and the this and the that. And then my next question is, do you make them the president of the congregation? No.
Brian Safi
Honestly, sometimes.
Chelsea Devante
But, I mean, you know, take your brother who's been addicted to heroin for 25 years, and say, let's make him the boss. You don't take the person who's absolutely insane, that needs all of the forgiveness, and then say, well, let's give them the keys. Let's give them the nuclear codes.
Brian Safi
Yeah.
Ronna Glickman
I also have to say that I.
Chelsea Devante
Do love we're having this conversation. We could be having the other one, but here we go.
Ronna Glickman
I do love this new brand of really just talking back in such a Blunt way. Like this video of Target of someone being like, do you realize that you sell satanic da da da da. And the. To the employee. And the employee goes, yeah, I love Satan. And they go, what? And she goes, I love Satan and I don't care. So anyway, and then like Trixie Mattel was asking about someone said like, how do you square what you're doing with God? And why should you know if God's da da da. And Trixie goes, well, God isn't real and I am, so you should probably treat me more with more respect than God. And I'm like, great. More of this. More of this. Just sort of instead of tippy toeing, just like, no, I love it. Yeah. I love being garbage. So there. And that brings us back to glamorous trash.
Chelsea Devante
Here we are.
Brian Safi
This is the answer to everything. Just own it.
Chelsea Devante
So wait a second. We were having a tiny little mini conversation before we started.
Ronna Glickman
Yeah.
Chelsea Devante
And we were speculating and, you know, that's all we really have right now. Anyways. Gossip, let's be honest, because the rest of it is so grim.
Brian Safi
Gossip. And the Blake. And just in case this is all.
Chelsea Devante
We have, that's gossip, of course. And I'd love to hear your take on it, actually. But the, the first thing I'll say is this. We were talking about this. There is a coup and a revolution taking place in this moment.
Ronna Glickman
You're talking about Taylor Swift getting equivalent.
Chelsea Devante
Oh, getting what?
Ronna Glickman
No, nothing. I thought you were talking. I thought that was the lead into Taylor, which by the way, was awful. But anyway, go ahead.
Chelsea Devante
You know, I didn't watch it. I, I watched super bowl, but she handled it great.
Ronna Glickman
She was like, she just sort of.
Brian Safi
I mean, it's giving Jessica Simpson with Tony Romo. Like, did we not learn our lesson, you dummies? What are you doing to this blonde woman in the stand?
Ronna Glickman
They always blame the girlfriend.
Brian Safi
Oh, they love, they love a blonde pop star to just thwarts all their misogyny onto.
Ronna Glickman
That's so true.
Chelsea Devante
Well, she was also the, you know, the idea. But it's also sort of, in a way, if I were her, I'd be sort of secretly thrilled by it. Because what it means is they've put her on the pedestal with Trump. So he's the President of the United States who came to a Super bowl. And everyone in the world is wondering this. You know, 80,000 people in the stadium and all people want to know is what his nemesis like, oh, no, it's. Kim and Kanye are in the same room.
Brian Safi
Yeah, And.
Chelsea Devante
And that's how important Taylor Swift is. She's actually on the exact same level with him. So in a way, I would have just been like, yeah, I know. Will they or won't they? Huh? I mean, you know, that's. I mean, that was great. That was basically what it was. You booing. I mean, you know, she made, what, $20 billion last year? Who knows? But it's like, how many people. Tent revivals did.
Brian Safi
I didn't go. I don't have a thousand dollars for that.
Chelsea Devante
But we can set the packing lot.
Brian Safi
Yeah, yeah, yeah. And, you know, I. I don't know all the eras, but I. I watched in awe. I love that she, you know, sold it herself. And I think just by comparing crowd sizes, she. She could best him.
Ronna Glickman
Yeah. So, Rana, I did interrupt you, and you were really.
Chelsea Devante
No, I just wanted to. I really wasn't. I just am enjoying having Chelsea here. And this isn't even really. We've already been talking too long because we're supposed to do a Chelsea.
Ronna Glickman
We have the truly the dumbest people on this show. So the fact that. So the fact. For guests. So the fact that you're here really makes us excited because we can actually talk about something.
Brian Safi
I'm so. I was. I thought you were going to say, like, the letters we got today. And I was like, all right.
Chelsea Devante
Got a little worried.
Ronna Glickman
No, the letters are great. One of them. One of them's short and sweet but fun. And we've never done one like it. And the other two are nice. They're.
Brian Safi
Oh, I can't wait.
Chelsea Devante
Okay, Michelle and Barack, give me your. What I was saying is there's a coup taking place. This is the Reichstag fire. And I hate being right. You know, they talk about Nostradamus. It's like, you know, yeah, Nostranus or whatever. I'm always ahead on whatever. The thing is, I knew I am, Brian. I pick out a lip.
Ronna Glickman
I'm not laughing.
Chelsea Devante
Later. Every time. Tick tock. It's sold out. I'm always. I'm too many months ahead. I am honestly not kidding. We could go through a list. Brian and I do this all the time.
Ronna Glickman
We mentioned how great Ron is. Make this list.
Chelsea Devante
No, no, I'm saying you and I will mention something in passing.
Ronna Glickman
Yes.
Chelsea Devante
Six months later, we don't even watch it blow up. No one pays attention to us. It doesn't happen. And then six months later, it blows up and it's gone. And I can't get my hands on it.
Brian Safi
Y' all gotta get a Newsletter, we need receipts. You know, I mean, post that link. Hot recommend, six months later, I told you so. Receipts, timeline, affiliate links.
Chelsea Devante
Yeah, we do. We don't do the affiliate links.
Ronna Glickman
I don't officine. Universal Debully owes us about a million dollars.
Chelsea Devante
They can't print the lip bombs fast enough. But in any event, all we have to distract us now is gossip and lawsuits. So I want your quick, hot take on Michelle and Barack, and I want you, because you said I have. Of course, one of your specialties is celebrity memoir. So you've read Michelle's book.
Brian Safi
Oh, yes.
Chelsea Devante
And then I want to know you're quick on Justin and Blake, because we haven't done much on that. And then we're going to help the people that are here to be helped.
Brian Safi
Thrilled. So, yes, you were talking about the coup. And I said, yeah, but what about Obama dating Jennifer Aniston? Let's talk about all the important issues. So I don't know if you know that that rumor got started on another podcast, Patreon. One of the hosts on the Patreon excluse was like, I have it on good authority that Obama's with Jennifer Aniston. Then, because the news.
Chelsea Devante
The podcast.
Brian Safi
Yes, it's.
Chelsea Devante
It do.
Brian Safi
No, no, no, no, no. This was. Oh, my God. It's. It's the US Weekly podcast.
Chelsea Devante
Look, anyway, it was a legit gossip.
Brian Safi
Yeah, Yeah, I think they're, like, legit. Like a. Oh, who Weekly. It was who weekly?
Ronna Glickman
Oh, who week. I love who we.
Brian Safi
Yeah, they're fantastic. But anyway, so they were just, like, you know, doing little goss to their supporters, and someone who works in the news media was there and said, I shall. To print. To print we go. And so that's how the rumor got started. However, I have to say that they really haven't been seen together a lot. And in Washington, the rumor is that they really aren't together. And having read Michelle's memoir, I said, that is correct. If I read that memoir and years later, you said, they're still together, I'd be shocked, because it is a very long, polite memoir that is kind of like, you know, he's actually annoying.
Ronna Glickman
Yes.
Brian Safi
Okay. And I didn't want this. I didn't want it the second term. This was horrible. But here we are.
Chelsea Devante
And interesting. A real assertion of.
Brian Safi
Yeah.
Chelsea Devante
Independence.
Brian Safi
And here's how my mom chose to stay. And now you could write it one way. Yeah, really, you could read it one way as like, marriage is so hard, and it's so beautiful when you make it through. But when I read it, I said, marriage is so hard. No, thank you.
Chelsea Devante
How would you. How would you feel if your partner wrote a book, wrote publicly, said something like that?
Brian Safi
I would say, oh, my God. I didn't know your divorce papers came in a memoir, but sure.
Chelsea Devante
And served by.
Ronna Glickman
I do feel like he did not get a first crack at check. You know, reading that, I feel like she did not give him a publisher's copy of that book.
Brian Safi
And I feel like he maybe wouldn't have. Like, I'm too busy. Like, I. It gave me a real. You know, you want to believe in those two because they're both so great separately. But, yeah, it made me feel bummed. It was giving Ben Affleck accepting an award and saying, marriages work. Thank you, Jennifer Garner. That was the tone of the book to me.
Ronna Glickman
Right, Right.
Chelsea Devante
Can you imagine? I'll never forget that moment as long as it lived. But, you know, the word on the street is he's begging her to. Begging to have her back now. But do we believe that?
Brian Safi
Because she's had a boyfriend for, like, six years.
Chelsea Devante
Right. Doesn't matter. I believe a million percent. I think that was completely. What, You've heard that as well, right.
Ronna Glickman
That Ben Affleck wants Jennifer Garner back?
Chelsea Devante
Yeah.
Ronna Glickman
I haven't heard it, but, Chelsea, you've heard that.
Brian Safi
I. I have heard it. It's.
Chelsea Devante
It's going around town. He's pulling a Bill Gates. The Bill Gates apology tour. Though, in a way it's never endeared me to. I was never endeared to Bill. Despite the fact that he solved polio. I was never endeared to Bill Gates. And now I was like, I just want to take him to dinner.
Ronna Glickman
Well, remember when Robin Thicke released that album called Paula about his wife that he fucked over?
Brian Safi
Yes.
Ronna Glickman
Bill Gates is doing that right now. He's giving Paula. He's talking about Melinda a lot, in a way that's like, I know Bill. You might think this is romantic. Yeah, it's awful.
Brian Safi
Oh, my God. If I was her. What do you mean, you'd be fairly think.
Ronna Glickman
Because that would be so embarrassing.
Chelsea Devante
Possibly just a crisis PI move, which is that he lost all of this capital, all of this goodwill.
Ronna Glickman
Right.
Chelsea Devante
And that he wants it back.
Ronna Glickman
My mom turned on him, that's for sure.
Chelsea Devante
So what?
Ronna Glickman
Once. Once he cheated on Melinda. That all came out. She said, I don't want anything to do with Bill Gates anymore. And I was like, what? What did you have?
Chelsea Devante
She getting rid of her down computer, her window.
Ronna Glickman
Name five things about Him.
Chelsea Devante
She said, tell the paperclip to never show up on my desktop again. Yeah, whatever his name was.
Ronna Glickman
That's right.
Chelsea Devante
And then Clippy. Clippy. But it could be, if we're thinking insidious instead of just authentic, it could be that he's talked to his PR team and he. And maybe it's also true, but that he's basically said, this is like, I've excommunicated because of. All because of what happened with the divorce, and I need back in. People think I'm witty Allen and I want back in kind of thing. And so whoever brilliant person said, there's only one way in, and it's to say, I made the world's biggest mistake. The most beautiful thing that happened to me in my life was this marriage, and I was the guy that ruined it. And everybody can relate to that. Ugh. Disney romance of I wish I could have my wife if I could do things differently.
Ronna Glickman
Is he still with the woman he cheated on her with? Because weren't they, like, in a relationship?
Chelsea Devante
No, he had many.
Ronna Glickman
I thought there was, like, one from high school.
Chelsea Devante
It was one at work. He is with someone now who's, like, one of these people that goes to Sun Valley. Okay.
Brian Safi
But here's.
Chelsea Devante
She was married to another billionaire who. Maybe the Oracle billionaire who passed away. I can't remember. Something like. And so maybe this is just a softening device. And if. And if it were. And if I were Melinda and I understood that, I'd be. I would say this would be a case of get my mouth. My name out of your mouth.
Ronna Glickman
Sure.
Chelsea Devante
Will Smith. Stop talking about me and using this. This mistake that you made.
Ronna Glickman
I hope Melinda plans on going to the red table sometime soon.
Chelsea Devante
Oh, that'd be so terrible.
Brian Safi
I want to know if.
Chelsea Devante
If.
Brian Safi
If he won Brian's mom back with the apology. Like, when he said that, did your mom turn around?
Ronna Glickman
You know, and. I don't think she will. I. My guess is that she'll be like, well, yeah, I mean, I could have told you that.
Brian Safi
Interesting. See, if I'm her. Even if he's lying, I'm like, ah, hilarious. Then I go to the press and I say, come and get it, Bill. Yeah, come on. Come on over. And I make him work for it, and then I just do it all in public and try and embarrass him.
Ronna Glickman
Now, do you think the Jennifer Aniston.
Chelsea Devante
Yeah, tell it. Give us. And then we have to do the. It's already the. Shama's almost Elvis. We have to.
Ronna Glickman
Yeah, we gotta go I'm sorry. We have to.
Chelsea Devante
Okay.
Brian Safi
I do think it's true. Because we need something nice in 2025. And that's fun. Come on, that's fun now. It's only fun if we turn around and Michelle is banging the rock. Like, you know, it's only fun when it's like. And she, you know, is. I'm trying to think.
Ronna Glickman
Or if we found out that she set them up. If she was like, you're so annoying. Here, go with her.
Chelsea Devante
If Michelle was single, who would we want her today?
Ronna Glickman
I don't. She's only the most fabulous person in the world.
Chelsea Devante
Either of them. If they actually got separated or divorced, who would we accept as new partners? He could only do like an Amal Clooney. You know, that's the only version of that that anybody wants is, oh, he's marrying, he's dating some justice. Or you know who he could date that. Was it the Danish prime minister that loved him or flirted with him or that. Was it the Danish prime minister, The Finnish prime minister. I can't remember. She flirted with him.
Brian Safi
You know, I want Laura Dern for her.
Chelsea Devante
Oh, for Michelle.
Ronna Glickman
Michelle.
Brian Safi
Yeah, that's right. I just think that'd be cozy, nice, something new, something fun. I think they could. Could both really handle each other in a way that the other is always needed and never known such support before.
Chelsea Devante
Honestly, I could see Laura Dern for him too. That they could do a thruffle.
Brian Safi
I could see that as well. Yeah, I could see that as well.
Ronna Glickman
I could see her with like trying to think of who.
Chelsea Devante
Big baby.
Ronna Glickman
Yeah, exactly. That's great. Ronna. Yeah. Or like Kendrick Lamar. Yeah, right.
Chelsea Devante
Do you know the same jeans. I have the same genes. The same as Nesterical.
Ronna Glickman
The boot cut.
Chelsea Devante
Yeah, the Celines.
Brian Safi
But you're short and that makes sense. They look great on like a teeny tiny. You're teeny tiny and cute. I'm so sorry.
Ronna Glickman
And Kendrick's, I think five. Five.
Brian Safi
Oh, excuse me. You're so petite and lovely and.
Chelsea Devante
Yeah, he is also petite. Yeah, the same. They look.
Ronna Glickman
You are.
Chelsea Devante
I just don't have that jacket.
Ronna Glickman
I did love that jacket, by the way.
Chelsea Devante
You can get me.
Brian Safi
But stretch that outfit out on a six foot tall man. Do you like it anymore?
Chelsea Devante
No, no, no, no. And it. And it also requires a platform shoe.
Brian Safi
That's right.
Chelsea Devante
On a six foot tall man. Yeah, you're right. I mean, the women's jeans, this is.
Ronna Glickman
Like a week and a half old at this point. How incredible does Serena look? I mean, she always does.
Chelsea Devante
Yeah.
Ronna Glickman
She looked unbelievable that night.
Brian Safi
Yeah. And she's gone through a lot of health stuff, and she's got a glow.
Chelsea Devante
Yeah, I was incredible.
Ronna Glickman
Yeah.
Chelsea Devante
She's such a. Incredible. She's just iconic. She is.
Brian Safi
She really is the highlight of the night.
Chelsea Devante
Do you know what I did last night for about 45 minutes.
Ronna Glickman
What did you do, Ronna? Don't tell me you crip walked.
Chelsea Devante
I have no idea how I ended up there. Hysterical. I have no idea how I ended up there, but I spent about 45 minutes on Roger Federer's Instagram last night.
Ronna Glickman
Well, I didn't. Surprise me. She's obsessed him. That's her kind of guy.
Chelsea Devante
I love Roger Federer, but I don't seek him out. It's just when he. He comes across my path, and somehow I was served a video of him and Elmo together, and it was the cutest thing I ever saw in my life. You know how Elmo insults everybody because Elmo's really just a little drag queen or whatever.
Ronna Glickman
Of course.
Chelsea Devante
Just a teeny, tiny pocket puppet drag, basically. That's what Elmo's doing.
Ronna Glickman
Yeah.
Chelsea Devante
And which is funny when you think about it, because Velma's so popular and everyone's so worried about goddamn drag queen story owl. Which sounds like the best time I could imagine. It probably happened once in the history of the world, but in any event, and not in Florida, but as if.
Brian Safi
They'Re going to libraries anyway. If you don't like Drag Queen Story Hour, just keep not reading. And that's why.
Chelsea Devante
I mean, I just love the idea that it's invading our culture. I mean, I know that's so old now, but that nonsense. But anyway, that just that I started there, then I had to watch the next one, then I ended up on his page. I mean, he's just incredible.
Brian Safi
Okay. Yes, but I do.
Chelsea Devante
Are you gonna give us your jets?
Brian Safi
I quickly need to know who. I need to know you're on as well.
Chelsea Devante
I need everyone. I need sides. But I need to know what you think about the case overall, because I think that those are two very different things. Whether the case has any validity and then whether you like either of them, because those could be very different answers.
Brian Safi
Okay, yes.
Chelsea Devante
I'll go for you two. Both a Hollywood showbiz people.
Ronna Glickman
No, I. I honestly lost the plot on this one a little bit. I have an opinion, but I really want to hear.
Chelsea Devante
Chelsea, It's a thin plot.
Brian Safi
I did. I did read the case. You went to the Web? Yeah. Oh, for sure. I've went to the website so many times it's a bummer. It's stuck in my browser. Yeah, I read through everything. Loved it. It was a great novel.
Ronna Glickman
Great.
Brian Safi
So, because there are some very smart lawyers in my Patreon, I do believe the case has validity only from them, which is that I think her case is, is proving retaliation, which is that she had a sexual harassment claim and he retaliated to her because of that claim. And in which case I don't know if she's going to need to prove sexual harassment. She might just need to prove retaliation. In which case, according to the New York times. Text messages. 100. 100.
Chelsea Devante
Well, also it. Also if it really is just a retaliation suit, then that may. Then she has a very strong suit because what she literally has in writing is the ten point plan of them agreeing to whatever the things were. Not walking on her while she's changing. You know, the. Though it's a bit tricky because it's like, did it happen or are you saying I don't want it to happen? I guess if I was the lawyer on the other side, that would be how I would be unstitching.
Brian Safi
Yeah. And I think that is.
Chelsea Devante
I'm going to write down on a piece of paper, I'll feel safer on this set if the nobody on Cage is a lion and it attacks me. And I'll say, yeah, sign that.
Brian Safi
Yeah, exactly.
Chelsea Devante
I can agree to that.
Brian Safi
And I think that's what they'll, they'll do is say, you know, it wasn't retaliation for sexual harassment because sexual harassment didn't take place. It was safeguarding her takeover. So I, But I do think the case has more legs, however. I, I am like Dev, I'm just devastated because I'm so, so nervous that perhaps she has weaponized feminism. And that's his thing. Okay. That's what he was up to. And I'm a little worried it's what she's up to. The more I read and to be honest, the real crime are those text messages they sent to each other. They should both go to fucking jail for this shit. They said in text messages, the drag. But even just like how to edit the movie and how she's telling him to edit the movie. And I keep thinking if that was me and an actor said that to me, I'd be in jail for murder. I would have been murdered.
Ronna Glickman
And how they invited him over with Ryan Reynolds and Taylor Swift to like talk about how she wrote the most amazing scene. I don't even know what these. I shouldn't even comment on this because I really don't know but it all seems like completely insufferable.
Chelsea Devante
Yes.
Brian Safi

Chelsea Devante
In any event, should we move on to what we really do here?
Ronna Glickman
Yeah, we ask.
Chelsea Devante
Okay.
Ronna Glickman
We ask people. I'm gonna save this. We ask people to write in so we can answer questions.
Chelsea Devante
It's called advice.
Ronna Glickman
Yeah.
Chelsea Devante
Yeah. Would you like to read our first a first number?
Ronna Glickman
Well, I don't Think Chelsea has the document.
Chelsea Devante
I'm talking to you. You still work here, don't you?
Ronna Glickman
I do.
Brian Safi
Thank you, Brian, for being willing to let me narrate.
Ronna Glickman
You got it.
Chelsea Devante
Listen, I'm just gonna let her drive the truck. Without even a. A license, huh?
Ronna Glickman
I would be. So did Chelsea, right?
Chelsea Devante
Yes.
Ronna Glickman
Dearest Ron o' Brien and Luminous Guest.
Chelsea Devante
True.
Ronna Glickman
I. Totally true. I hope.
Chelsea Devante
I mean, genuinely. Look at those. Those glowing cheeks.
Ronna Glickman
She does.
Brian Safi
I did put on a lot of highlighter today. It's regretful, seeing it in the zoom, but yes.
Chelsea Devante
You're kidding. You look amazing from where I'm. Yeah.
Ronna Glickman
I hope I'm not breaking any carriage house rules by sending you this letter on behalf of a friend.
Chelsea Devante
You are.
Ronna Glickman
She authentically authorized me to do so and contributed to its writing. But when you asked for letters with truly off the wall questions, I knew I had to write.
Chelsea Devante
Interesting.
Ronna Glickman
Is it.
Chelsea Devante
Is she. Is she handless or armless? Is my question about you?
Ronna Glickman
I think neither. I think she's shy. Yeah. My friend Jessica is a dog walker. Recently, she received an emergency request from a client via text that read, NER kidney stones. Can you take care of my dog? Background. The dog is an aggressive elderly pit bull who is on medication. Jessica is the only person beside the owner and her sister who's out of town for several weeks who can enter the apartment without being attacked. As a result of this difficult behavior, and because the sister was out of town, Jessica didn't feel she had a choice but to say yes to this request because there was truly no one else who could go into the apartment to walk or feed the dog. Okay. To add complications to the situation, the emergency request came during Christmas week, her busiest time of the year, when Jessica was already booked solid with walks and was boarding six dogs in her own apartment.
Chelsea Devante
This is really the kind of math that I'm deeply uninterested in, but yeah.
Ronna Glickman
Oh, not me. Six dogs plus apartment equals hives.
Brian Safi
Also, Christmas week, gifts, dinners, parties.
Ronna Glickman
Okay.
Chelsea Devante
Yeah. Yeah. Needless to say, I love that. That's a she. She, Jessica, has organized her life. And poor Jessica. See, this is why we don't do this, because we're not really authorized to talk about Jessica. The letter writer writes in, then it's fair game. And that. And we're authorized to say whatever we want to them and about them. So what I'm not really authorized to say right now is that Jessica is a person who has organized her whole life for the week of Christmas to be. To make it impossible to attend a family event. Or any other kind of social event, because she has literally seven. Ma' am, nine mammals living in a house.
Ronna Glickman
I hope that your car seats are lined with packing tape or lint, roller tape, so that when you get in and get out the dog hair. Get out of here.
Chelsea Devante
Saran Wrap your whole car. And that over again, everyone, again.
Ronna Glickman
Right. Needless to say, this issue created a ton of extra stress for her. But knowing she was the only possible lifeline for this dog. Let's call the dog Maximus. She agreed. She made four trips a day to take care of Maximus, including early in the morning and very late at night. It also would have been impossible for Jessica to take him to her own apartment because of the many other dogs already at her house. And since Maximus is elderly, he couldn't get up. He couldn't get up her two flights of stairs. I see. The owner remained in the hospital, so.
Chelsea Devante
Why don't they just lock him down? Lock him in the basement. But then he won't attack anybody that comes into the house. If he has a gay.
Ronna Glickman
Right, Ronna? He'll also get a complex and get more aggressive because he's been in solitary for how long?
Chelsea Devante
A week? Well, it's. Well, his own. First of all, maybe they have a beautiful finished basement. That's the first thing I want to say. And second of all, he's everyone else's problem. But someone else would be able to enter the home if he was restricted to an area of the home.
Ronna Glickman
Also, why doesn't this woman who has it really doesn't have anything to do with this letter. Get the dog a trainer.
Chelsea Devante
This is crazy. Why did this person write us this letter? But anyway, go on.
Brian Safi
Okay.
Ronna Glickman
The owner remained in the hospital.
Brian Safi
I'm guessing she didn't pay her. Okay, keep going.
Ronna Glickman
The owner remained in the hospital for several days and nothing says free like kidney stones. Pretty soon, it looked like Maximus was going to run out of dog food. Jessica texted the owner, who replied that there was more food in the freezer. Hold on to your hats.
Chelsea Devante
Oh, no. Oh, no.
Ronna Glickman
On Jessica's next visit, a freezer in an empty house. Opened the freezer.
Chelsea Devante
No.
Ronna Glickman
To find ice. Dog food.
Chelsea Devante
Fine.
Ronna Glickman
And a dead cat. Because Jessica has. No.
Brian Safi
That Maximus killed. Maximus killed.
Ronna Glickman
The question is, she's hiding the evidence.
Chelsea Devante
I didn't even think of that.
Ronna Glickman
You were listening.
Chelsea Devante
I gotta tell you, the Chelsea's the Brian Chelsea just swung from my camp to your camp. Because I'll tell you why you not me. Yeah.
Ronna Glickman
And I'm a Chelsea. Because I'll tell you this yeah. There is not an owner of a nutso dog. And I'm not talking about a pit bull. I'm talking about a dog with behavioral issues. Any dog with behavioral issues.
Chelsea Devante
I just had an incredible dog.
Ronna Glickman
Owners make every possible excuse for them in the world, except for fixing that problem.
Chelsea Devante
If you want to murder someone and get away with it, be a dog.
Ronna Glickman
Totally.
Chelsea Devante
Yeah. Because you know what I just realized? And this is a pitch for you, Brian and Chelsea. You can do it together. You just have to give me an EP credit and send me a check. Dateline dog. How come there isn't a pet date line where people talk about only pet crime? It is the only reality category that has not been touched.
Ronna Glickman
It's so true.
Brian Safi
That's.
Chelsea Devante
Am I right?
Brian Safi
That is good. But I gotta tell you, I think I'm a Jessica. I think I'm the gal who's like, I've got nine crazy dogs in the.
Chelsea Devante
Middle of the hall, and I couldn't possibly Christmas.
Ronna Glickman
And bite my throat. You tell me you were walking too fast.
Brian Safi
Yes, that would be me. I would be like, no, no, no. He just has a thing about throats. Why did you laugh? He hates laughter. It triggers him. Exactly.
Chelsea Devante
Yes. He was in a home. He was abused in a home where they laughed at him.
Brian Safi
Yeah, that's exactly right.
Chelsea Devante
Which happens. Yeah.
Ronna Glickman
Because Jessica's known this client for a long time. She knows the cat has been dead since at least 2019. Okay.
Brian Safi
She knows the cat. She knows.
Chelsea Devante
She doesn't know that. It could have been that. You're right. But it could have been the neighbor's cat that he murdered and attacked. And then put. Unless she knows the cat. She does know the cat.
Brian Safi
Unless it was the owner's cat.
Ronna Glickman
It's true.
Chelsea Devante
Right.
Ronna Glickman
And she's still making excuses for the dog.
Chelsea Devante
Please write back. Just let us know if she recognized the cat.
Ronna Glickman
The dog owner has always been a terrible client for many other reasons and doesn't take great care of her dog as it is. But keeping a dead cat in the freezer for five years is beyond the pale. So here's the question. This is nuts.
Brian Safi
I'm thrilled.
Ronna Glickman
The question is, so happy to be here. Honestly. Take your friend, bend her over your knee, and smack her in the tush. Because listen to this question. So here's the question.
Chelsea Devante
Oh, dear God.
Ronna Glickman
Should Jessica fire this client?
Chelsea Devante
That's the question.
Ronna Glickman
Oh, how is that the question?
Brian Safi
That's the leading statement.
Ronna Glickman
That's literally like, oh, no. Obviously, Jessica fired her post haste in the middle of her passing her kidney Stone, she went to the hospital. She should have said, you want to feel pain? It's over. She knows that if she does fire her, there really isn't anyone else to take care of Maximus. And she knows that her client was having. And she knows that her client was having an emergency situation resulting in an uninterest expected ER visit. So she's trying to be patient with them. But dead cats were not on her list of acceptable issues to deal with. She's torn and would be grateful for your advice. Of course, I recognize that I'm not eligible for any gift you might want to send, but would be happy to pass to Jessica.
Chelsea Devante
No. And she's not getting one either. Okay, I'll just tell you right now, they're not winning anything.
Ronna Glickman
Love you madly. Kiss, kiss Julie. P.S. actually, Chelsea, you might have some advice on this. P.S. i've suggested to Jessica that she write a book titled Dead Cat in the Freezer and Other Tales. Stories from the Life of a New York Dog Walker. There should be a Stories from the Life of New York Dog Walker.
Brian Safi
A. Yeah, that's actually a fantastic pitch. Yeah. But she's. I think she's not suffering from being a dog walker. She's suffering from being a people pleaser who cannot read a red flag if it stabbed her in the eye.
Ronna Glickman
Pointy side. I thought I had a people pleasing problem. This is.
Brian Safi
This is. And listen, again, I said I relate to Jessica, so I've got to go do some thinking after this. But.
Ronna Glickman
And also, there was a quick follow up. Quick follow up. The dog owner has still not thanked Jessica for helping her out during her wait.
Brian Safi
Thanks.
Chelsea Devante
Has she. That's.
Brian Safi
There's so many.
Chelsea Devante
She also thinks that you're a servant who works in her home. I'll just put that out there.
Ronna Glickman
Yep.
Chelsea Devante
If she has not thanked you See, that's the other element here is that Jessica thinks she's in sort of a friendship with the owner instead of in just a transactional relationship.
Ronna Glickman
Her text to Jessica was, NER kidney stones. Get the dog.
Chelsea Devante
Right. But if you exact. Well, the last part is what she meant, but not what she said, which is get the dog. She did not wonder if Jessica would do that. It wasn't a question.
Brian Safi
She knew. She knew. Yeah, I. You know, Jessica should have fired this client so. So early on.
Chelsea Devante
Oh, it's gonna be good for her to buy this client. It's gonna be very good for development.
Brian Safi
And if you truly. If your thoughts are truly, truly for the dog, then listen, you know where that dog lives. Pick them up, up. Take him to a nice home. Who will be nice to him and train him and make him good. If that's your true concern. The dog is being abused.
Ronna Glickman
The dog sounds like it is being abused. And I would at least drop a diamond on that.
Chelsea Devante
Let's not do that. The dog's being abused.
Ronna Glickman
Fine. You know, but they've said that she's not a good.
Chelsea Devante
I don't know that he isn't, but I don't know that he is. He just. Look, he's a junkyard dog. And this person.
Ronna Glickman
I love that phrase. I always have.
Chelsea Devante
And this person did what you two said, which is they spent the dog's entire life apologizing for the dog's behavior instead of addressing the behavior.
Ronna Glickman
Right.
Chelsea Devante
But when a dog acts like that, it's in line. Slightly abusive in the sense that parents who are helicopter parents were abusive. Is something I more so mean.
Brian Safi
Like she's so worried she can't fire the client because no one will care for the dog.
Chelsea Devante
So she's saying, like, not the dog's problem.
Brian Safi
See, I think. Oh, I see.
Ronna Glickman
I think.
Brian Safi
I think that is the dog's problem. How's the dog?
Chelsea Devante
But Jessica is also being a little bit of a mad at and saying, that isn't possibly another dog walking, by the way, who could possibly do my job? And I want to know who did it before Jessica walked through.
Ronna Glickman
And that's what every person who is breaking up with another person says about the person they broke up with. I don't know how they're going to find love again. I don't know how they're going to do it. I feel horrible. I've decimated them. And then in two weeks, they're dating.
Brian Safi
They're dating a model, no less.
Ronna Glickman
Exactly. You actually didn't have that much power out of that.
Chelsea Devante
We didn't talk about Ivanka's hair extensions. Oh, I was actually shocked. I haven't gotten eyes on them on the presidential. I don't know what, some sort of Instagram feed or something. They put a reel of Trump at the super bowl and some goddamn person shot her from behind.
Ronna Glickman
Oh, yeah, I see.
Brian Safi
Showing her extension separated.
Chelsea Devante
Had to do her own hair that day. Or she had a blowout from the night before before and didn't have a local team. Or she flew in from Miami. I don't know what. But there was no refresh on that here that day. She just thought she got a little cocky and said, I'll do a dirty blowout tomorrow. What's the big deal? Right. It still looks pretty good. She didn't check out the back.
Ronna Glickman
And you can see it's almost Britney with the tracks back in the day.
Chelsea Devante
It almost looks like they're just clippings is how it looks.
Brian Safi
I adore. I adore.
Chelsea Devante
They could be clippings.
Ronna Glickman
Me, too.
Brian Safi
It's perfect. You know, that happens all the time.
Chelsea Devante
Yeah.
Ronna Glickman
Yes.
Brian Safi
Heather.
Chelsea Devante
Yeah.
Brian Safi
On Real Housewives.
Ronna Glickman
I believe that.
Brian Safi
Yeah. She hits the wrong humidity and those babies go running.
Chelsea Devante
And also, you know, she cheaps out on the hair. I mean, she, of course, this in and clips that, and, well, they're all.
Ronna Glickman
Wearing, like, fashion Nova and.
Brian Safi
Yeah, well, and I. I know that to be true because Whitney and I know own several of the same dresses, and they were all $50.
Ronna Glickman
You know what, though? They're good for wearing once.
Chelsea Devante
It's a lot of wardrobe to keep up with. It's a lot of looks.
Brian Safi
Y. Y.
Chelsea Devante
All you need is one good bag to dress up, one trashy cat suit or whatever.
Ronna Glickman
Sure.
Brian Safi
I just need to know, why do we think the cat? What are. What are your guesses for why the cat's in the freezer? Is she hiding evidence? Is she. Like, I'm going to have her stuffed one day? Like, what is.
Chelsea Devante
Well, I think it's interesting, the concept that. That the dog killed the cat, because maybe there's a rule in New York about if there's a pet death or whatever, that you have to report it to the health department or you have to, you know, that it's one of these sort of death hazmat situations, which is the body needs to be disposed of appropriately. I'm not sure that's true, but I feel as though it's possible that the dog killed the cat and that she's hiding the cat in the sense that I don't want to deal with this. On the other hand, it's New York. Take a drive, you know, get a taxi to Queens. Throw it in a dumpster.
Brian Safi
Why can't you.
Chelsea Devante
The. Yeah, I mean, you know, drop it in the river. But the. But if she was perhaps very attached to this cat, and so she wants to give it a proper burial, but you can't do that until the. The dog is gone because she could have the dog taken away from her. Who knows that the person is not really a responsible pet owner. That's clear. The person whose dog will eat anyone that comes into the house. But this feels like a bit of a codependent relationship between Jessica and this very strange client.
Brian Safi
Yeah. And Jessica didn't write the Letter. Her friend is doing a bit of an intervention.
Chelsea Devante
Another code of another. Can you help me? I'm a victim of a mater deal.
Ronna Glickman
I know. Was Jessica afraid to write the letter?
Chelsea Devante
This is why. This is why we don't answer other people's letters, Brian. Because now we're picking Jessica Pat. And you know who we should be picking about Julie? Letter writer. Julie.
Brian Safi
Let's give advice to Julie.
Chelsea Devante
So let's just tell Jessica we apologize for anything we said if we mischaracterized you. Or it was. It was. She did not agree. She agreed to have the lettuce sent, but she did not agree to be read by us.
Ronna Glickman
But to answer your question, Jessica, yes, you should fire the dog walker. And when she bullies you into trying to do it again, just ignore the messages. Yeah, yeah.
Chelsea Devante
And guess what? The dog was alive before you walked into the dog's life. And the dog will be alive after you walk out of the dog's life. And I know that's hard for you to accept with 98 dogs in your house that you're special to each one of them, but this dog is going to be fine. You might miss the dog. The dog will miss you. For the dog. Let's put it this way, the dog saw you again. The dog will be excited. But by breakfast tomorrow, you will have been replaced in the dog's mind and.
Ronna Glickman
As a dog walker. I wonder if you may have a list of trainers.
Chelsea Devante
Bacon.
Ronna Glickman
It would be maybe shady or shitty, but just saying, like, I can't walk this dog anymore.
Chelsea Devante
Deserves this.
Ronna Glickman
Yeah. Here's some good trainers that I think Maximus could work with.
Chelsea Devante
And also you can say it nicely, which is just that. Matt, I love Maximus, I adore him. But he requires much more attention than my other clients. And I. And my roster is so full that I can't give him that attention that he deserves. Meaning hours, essentially. Yeah, yeah. Also, this person treated you shabbily. Move on. Yeah, that's really what happened.
Brian Safi
Move on. Like a kidney stone in the ER on Christmas.
Chelsea Devante
Yeah, get on out of there.
Ronna Glickman
It'll be hard, but it'll be worth it.
Brian Safi
Pass it out.
Chelsea Devante
But, Julie, weren't you gonna read Julie a little bit?
Brian Safi
I think. Julie, Julie, come on. You gotta be intervening harder with Jessica so that Jessica doesn't need to write these letters. It sounds like it's been a long time. I also want Julie to take Jessica's ph. You know. You know when you're going through a bad breakup. You said I've broken up with them, but if they write Me, Maybe I'm gonna write them back. It's like, take her phone, log into her accounts, you deal with crazy person as Jessica gets free.
Ronna Glickman
Yep, great idea. I'm down.
Chelsea Devante
And also, Julie, why are you the savior that's writing the letter? You don't know?
Ronna Glickman
She's a good friend, Rona.
Chelsea Devante
Well, Julie doesn't know that she has to break up with her. She's been listening to this show for how long?
Ronna Glickman
Right?
Chelsea Devante
Come on. She just wanted to send us the juicy cat story.
Ronna Glickman
And by the way, which I appreciate.
Chelsea Devante
I deeply appreciate.
Ronna Glickman
I feel like with people like this, it doesn't have to even be a phone call. Text this person and just say, oh, yeah, you don't have to talk to this person.
Brian Safi
Text. Kidney stones. Can't walk dog anymore. Bye. Bye.
Chelsea Devante
Yes.
Ronna Glickman
Totally.
Chelsea Devante
Yes.
Ronna Glickman
Yeah, that's it. It.
Chelsea Devante
I love that. Okay, let's do this, shorty. Shall we?
Ronna Glickman
Yeah.
Chelsea Devante
Dear Running Brian, excuse me, we have a guest. I mean, this person. Come on, pay attention. That's how the show works.
Ronna Glickman
Well, the short one's fun. Brian, I actually don't think we've ever read a question like this.
Chelsea Devante
No, this is fun, but the show is. We always have a guest. Please make a guest feel welcome. Okay.
Ronna Glickman
Yeah.
Chelsea Devante
I've been with my partner for 10 years. We're best friends, have no problem making fun of each other, and I tell him everything. Except.
Ronna Glickman
You want to know what's funny? She said, we've been married 10 years pluses, we make fun of each other, and I tell him everything. Those are two things that are great in a relationship. I don't know if those are the first two things I would. How I would describe a relationship, but they're nice things.
Brian Safi
A roast every morning over coffee.
Chelsea Devante
But they're also non negotiables. You know this. He's my best friend. I tell him everything, and we have fun.
Ronna Glickman
That's great.
Chelsea Devante
That's great. I'm glad to hear that you married someone that you like.
Ronna Glickman
Yeah.
Chelsea Devante
Except that he's an awful kisser.
Ronna Glickman
Oh, my God.
Brian Safi
Ten years.
Chelsea Devante
Ten years.
Ronna Glickman
That's it. Honestly.
Chelsea Devante
What? Who knows how long they were together for before that could be this could be that's true situation.
Ronna Glickman
Is this a new thing? There's no way.
Brian Safi
How'd you do it for a decade?
Ronna Glickman
Yeah.
Chelsea Devante
I also think it's sort of juvenile. I mean, you only realize this when you get older. To think that somebody's style is just this style that's written in stone. It's like there are people that work on their golf swing. Their whole lives. Okay, so. Well, I mean, I'll finish the reading the question, but great point, though. So why don't you just say. Can I be honest with you? You swings a little off, and that person who is only kissing you because they like you, not because this is their art, and this is the art that they show to the world on every face or body part that they meet. It might be interesting, a little feedback.
Brian Safi
Is it because it's like, now that it's been 10 years.
Chelsea Devante
Okay, okay, sure. I like a little lip nibble, but it's like he doesn't have. Oh, God, this is too upsetting. But it's like he doesn't have a top lip, only teeth.
Ronna Glickman
I don't understand why this letter is coming in now.
Chelsea Devante
I also don't understand how a lip nibble and having no upper lip go together.
Brian Safi
So it's like his teeth and his bottom lip are doing the kissing. Like top teeth, bottom lip.
Chelsea Devante
Okay, we're not people who hold back, but for some reason, I just haven't told him to pukka the hell up. How can I without it coming to light that this has been an issue for a decade? Please help. Kiss. Kiss with no teeth. Please don't use my name. Great question. Two great questions. To be honest, even though Julie violated all the rules of the podcast, but she did bring it. She did literally drop a dead cat at our door, which. Who. What dog wouldn't want that? You know.
Ronna Glickman
Tongues grow gross me out less than touching someone's teeth would.
Chelsea Devante
Oh, wow.
Ronna Glickman
Do you know what I mean?
Chelsea Devante
Tongues grow throughout less. You like tongues better than teeth.
Ronna Glickman
Well, it's funny that I have no problem kissing someone without contact with the teeth, but the second the teeth come into contact, it's gross to me. Even though I'm sure teeth are cleaner than your tongue.
Brian Safi
Sure, sure.
Chelsea Devante
I feel like probably equal. They're living together, you know, kind of all in your mouth, you know.
Brian Safi
To not.
Chelsea Devante
This is the problem with kissing. You cannot think about it too much.
Brian Safi
It always gets gross.
Chelsea Devante
The idea that this is what people do is put their faces on each other and then slobber on each other, and that. That's the height of romance. Is absolutely insane if you think about it.
Ronna Glickman
Yeah.
Chelsea Devante
But if you just do it and don't think about it, it's romantic. Yeah.
Ronna Glickman
Yeah.
Brian Safi
To have put. To have never had a good kiss for 10 years. I think she really, really, really loves them. I mean, I mean, kissing. Kissing is a lot of. I guess. I guess kissing can't. Maybe you're Just having sex and you're.
Chelsea Devante
Never going to do everything else.
Brian Safi
Well, I cannot imagine. If you don't have an upper lip, you're doing everything. Well, okay, maybe it's. We're just living. It sounds like a penetration only events.
Chelsea Devante
But to steal with this kisses.
Ronna Glickman
It's a lot.
Brian Safi
But given that it's been a decade and she's seemingly happy and loves him.
Chelsea Devante
One of these.
Ronna Glickman
Oh, good.
Chelsea Devante
No.
Brian Safi
I think she's got a lie. I think you have to say, I went to the doctor.
Ronna Glickman
I. I love where this is going.
Brian Safi
I have a lip issue, and I'm going to need kissing to change from now on because of my own medical. Lip issue is gonna need more softness.
Chelsea Devante
Yeah, I'm having. My nerves are overactive.
Brian Safi
That's right. Yeah.
Chelsea Devante
But then if you're gonna do that, you have to build the case. Starting a few weeks before we think. Sure.
Brian Safi
Appointments.
Chelsea Devante
Something's going on with my. I just can't. I don't know. You know, you just.
Brian Safi
Yeah, that's good.
Chelsea Devante
Peppering it in.
Ronna Glickman
Or you do.
Chelsea Devante
I'm gonna go see a neurologist. I'm gonna go see a neurologist.
Brian Safi
Ask them, who do you see for a tingling transition? Who would you see for lip problems? You seem to have lips, but who.
Chelsea Devante
Would you bring them into it? Yeah, bring them into the con. Yeah, that's right.
Brian Safi
That's right.
Chelsea Devante
Yep. Glamorous trash. Who would you say a neurologist. Would you go to Sloan Kettering for that? Or would you go to, like, you know, top hot. Just go all the way city that you're. You know, go see the top guy, do the Google. I'm gonna see this guy who went to Hobbit. Actually, you don't want a name, but, you know, you just sort of really plant the story.
Brian Safi
You have to reschedule the appointment. You're like, oh, I'm so bummed too. Cause it's. It's cramping. You know what I mean? I got to reschedule this appointment because I want to focus on your golf tournament we're going to. And now they're, you know, and then come back. Ooh. Kissing has to change.
Chelsea Devante
You might even have to go, ow.
Brian Safi
Yeah.
Chelsea Devante
When he kisses you the wrong way. That's pretty good. Ow.
Ronna Glickman
Or you could do role play. You could say, we're role play. I'm a scuba diver. You're a grouper or a goldfish. I think you just have to say, listen, you have to find a solution here. And I think you have to say to him, you know, I really like when you kiss me like this. So can we try it this way again to where it's.
Chelsea Devante
When you kiss me like this more.
Brian Safi
You hold me like that.
Ronna Glickman
Lips. Yeah.
Brian Safi
Yeah.
Chelsea Devante
I like the ow. I like the ow.
Brian Safi
It sounds like he doesn't have an upper lip, which is giving caucasity. And I don't know if it's something you can overcome without Botox or without putting.
Chelsea Devante
Oh, you mean. You mean phylla filler?
Brian Safi
Yeah. Oh, sorry. Whoops. Yeah.
Ronna Glickman
Or say the next time you go to the dentist, could you have them leave those. The cotton in your mouth where the gut above the gums, because that could help. You know what I mean?
Brian Safi
Or she goes to the dentist and gets numbed every day of her life. Feels nothing.
Chelsea Devante
Our advice is either the long con or you're saying a direct.
Ronna Glickman
Well, just in a nice way of saying, like.
Chelsea Devante
Is there a nice way?
Ronna Glickman
I really like. I really like. I really like when you kiss me juicy or something. Or like. Or like, I don't know, pretend I'm a window pane and make kissy lips. I don't know.
Chelsea Devante
It's interesting that he doesn't follow the. You know, sometimes when you're kissing someone, you can sort of give them a lesson without even having the conversation, you know, taking control. Yeah. You do it your way and then they can.
Ronna Glickman
I mean, would it be the worst option to only go closed mouth kiss from now on?
Chelsea Devante
You still kissing for 15 years into.
Brian Safi
This relationship, Rana, maybe you go full Pretty woman. I don't kiss $3,000 first.
Ronna Glickman
Absolutely. My name is Vivian. I wear Carol Channing wig. Yes.
Brian Safi
My dream is to go to college. Don't kiss me.
Ronna Glickman
Yeah.
Chelsea Devante
Have you met my. My roommate, Laura San Giacomo?
Ronna Glickman
You know, I drove Giacomo. I drove past the Beverly Wilshire yesterday. That hotel?
Brian Safi
Yeah.
Ronna Glickman
Because I went to our dentist, Rona.
Chelsea Devante
Oh, they.
Ronna Glickman
They texted me that I was there.
Chelsea Devante
Now they just. Maybe that's what. Maybe that's what. What reminded them. They texted me to ask about booking an appointment. Maybe your appearance is what reminded them to text me.
Ronna Glickman
Yeah, I was just there yesterday.
Chelsea Devante
Yeah.
Ronna Glickman
And I drove past the Beverly Wilshire because this dentist is over there. That downtown Beverly Hills might be the most depressing neighborhood I've seen in quite a while. It is really, like, sad.
Brian Safi
What made it so bad?
Ronna Glickman
Empty. And the last few times I've been around there, I don't really go shopping there, obviously, but like, the last few times I've been around there, it is, like, depressed. Like no one's outside.
Chelsea Devante
Yeah.
Ronna Glickman
Even at a lunch hour.
Chelsea Devante
Is it just kind of standing there?
Ronna Glickman
Yeah, it's weird. Like, if I were a tourist staying in Beverly Hills, I'd be like, why the hell did we come here?
Chelsea Devante
Oh, yeah. I mean, that's been the question forever.
Ronna Glickman
Probably that's true, too.
Chelsea Devante
Yes.
Ronna Glickman
Yeah.
Chelsea Devante
All right, Brian, tell Chelsea what happens now.
Ronna Glickman
So, Chelsea, we have a gift to give. Is it going to be this. Well, first of all, is it going to be Jessica's friend who wrote the letter, or is it going to be this person who is kissing something out of Pan's Labyrinth? I don't know. Some.
Brian Safi
Yeah, no, I.
Ronna Glickman
You know, some hunk, Rhonda, made it.
Brian Safi
Clear that the dog people are not giving the gift. If it were up to me, I'd be giving the pit bull the gift.
Ronna Glickman
Absolutely.
Brian Safi
I don't know if we can get to it yet, though.
Chelsea Devante
A T bone steak.
Ronna Glickman
Like a ham hock to sleep with.
Chelsea Devante
One hand on top of him, one eye open. I mean, what. You know, what is need. Yeah.
Brian Safi
Nice little bone. It's definitely got to go to this woman who thinks this is a nice decade. Nice way to spend your decade.
Ronna Glickman
I can't even believe that part. That part's the.
Chelsea Devante
But I think the key is what you said in the beginning, which is that she really, really love. They really love each other, and so that. That otherwise. Because if all they had was passion, then that it would be extinguished at this point.
Brian Safi
And you know what? Maybe. Maybe he's got the schlong of the century.
Chelsea Devante
He might be great at a lot of stuff.
Ronna Glickman
Oh, yeah.
Chelsea Devante
But she may be kissing. Maybe her language and not really his. I think that's another thing we haven't really explored here, that maybe he's really. Doesn't. He just wants to get to the. To the main event. Maybe that's who he is. Maybe he's good at it.
Ronna Glickman
What should we get her? Chapstick? Yeah, a really nice.
Chelsea Devante
What about a flavored lip balm? And then he can lick it off of her lips or something like that.
Ronna Glickman
Yeah.
Chelsea Devante
How do we get him to behave in a different way?
Brian Safi
You know, Jessica Simpson used to make a whipped cream chapstick because it was Nick Lachey's favorite flavor. So maybe there's something. Maybe there's a 2002 lip balm on ebay.
Ronna Glickman
I like that.
Chelsea Devante
Bonnie Bell Lips maca. Is that true that she made a whipped cream Jessica Simpson that you could buy?
Brian Safi
Yeah, that's right. Yeah. Yeah. Oh, did it. Was it the thing I rushed out for? As if it would Change my high school existence. Yes. I was like, get this on my lips, and I will be. Every man will want me.
Ronna Glickman
And do you know why?
Brian Safi
No, but it tasted great.
Chelsea Devante
So you've tasted?
Brian Safi
Yeah. Oh, yeah, Yeah. I vouch. Then again, listen, I don't know if I had a sophisticated palette at that time.
Ronna Glickman
You know what, though? She. Jessica Simpson, was lucky that not many did, because she made about a billion dollars.
Chelsea Devante
I know. We're gonna send a billion on those shoes.
Ronna Glickman
Yeah.
Chelsea Devante
She had still the greatest, probably one of the greatest consumer product lines of.
Ronna Glickman
All time under the radar. It's wild.
Brian Safi
And still JCPenney's popping with Jessica Simpson.
Chelsea Devante
She was one of the first to do it.
Ronna Glickman
I love it.
Chelsea Devante
Her mother deserves the credit.
Ronna Glickman
Can I be honest with you?
Chelsea Devante
You love this whole meltdown she's having that no one's paying attention to.
Ronna Glickman
No. But I think that people who are mad at target for the DEI stuff, why aren't more people going to JCPenney? I randomly went there recently, and I have to tell you, I had the best time. I bought shampoo and conditioner, and I love it.
Chelsea Devante
Was this when you were in El Paso?
Ronna Glickman
Of course.
Chelsea Devante
Yeah. Because I don't think there is a JCPenney anywhere else.
Ronna Glickman
Isn't there? All right, well, anyway, if you ever. If anyone needs a road trip idea, go to JCPenney in El Paso because it's actually fabulous.
Chelsea Devante
Here's what our friend's getting.
Ronna Glickman
Yeah.
Chelsea Devante
She's getting the lamer lip gloss.
Ronna Glickman
Lip balm. I knew it.
Chelsea Devante
No, the gloss. Not the bomb.
Ronna Glickman
Oh.
Chelsea Devante
The gloss is like a minty maximizer. Okay. And so it's going to serve two purposes, which is, even if he doesn't like the taste of it and it doesn't change anything, it's still going to make her feel luxurious and sexy. And luxurious. And it's going to motivate her to have the conversation.
Ronna Glickman
I love that idea.
Brian Safi
Nice. I like.
Ronna Glickman
That's great.
Chelsea Devante
Yeah.
Brian Safi
And if that doesn't work, he takes a road trip to Utah, gets the mini lip filler from Heather Gay.
Ronna Glickman
Absolutely. Go right to beauty lab.
Chelsea Devante
A mini.
Brian Safi
Yeah. She. Oh, I.
Chelsea Devante
This is.
Brian Safi
It's so messed up, but great branding because I wanted it. It's. It's like a mini lip filler. And I guess Normally it's $900, and then the mini one's like 300. And it's like just a touch of filler. And so it.
Chelsea Devante
You're like a dot and a dot.
Brian Safi
Yeah, like a dot and a dot. See what it does? And then you know, you're like.
Chelsea Devante
Then you're nothing. Coming back. Bigger, bigger, bigger, bigger.
Brian Safi
Yeah, that's right.
Chelsea Devante
Yeah. I've never had any lip filler or any. Never had any filler.
Brian Safi
I. I did. I did Botox once in the.
Chelsea Devante
Did you love it? I hate it.
Brian Safi
I hated it because you know what I want my. It's for my under eyes. And what it did is that it took out all the wrinkles on the. On the sides.
Ronna Glickman
That sounds nice, though.
Brian Safi
But then it left all the ones underneath and. And then it looked horrifying.
Chelsea Devante
They didn't give you enough.
Brian Safi
Yeah. And I think I was a baby about it. I was like, don't take my eyes. Like, I just. I just can't.
Chelsea Devante
Because unfortunately, the thing with Botox is that you think that you can just get it where you want it.
Brian Safi
Yeah.
Chelsea Devante
You know, everyone always wants it between their eyes. They say, you know, the 11. 11. The elevens. And they say, oh, just get rid of that. But the truth is that it's a balancing act. So then if they do that, then they got to do it there, and if they do it there, they got to do it there. And then you become, you know, Nicole Kidman or whatever.
Ronna Glickman
Sure.
Chelsea Devante
But you become. In the right hands, you become someone that nobody notices.
Ronna Glickman
But the, you know, they didn't play her AMC ad during Baby Girl.
Chelsea Devante
What?
Brian Safi
Missed opportunity.
Ronna Glickman
I guess it was nationwide.
Chelsea Devante
I will say I like lines around the eyes. I understand for some people it becomes too much, but I think it's cute and charming to have lines around.
Brian Safi
I missed mine when they were gone. I was like, oh, you took out all the smile lines. And now I'm just left with, like, dark circles.
Chelsea Devante
It's a big part of a smile.
Brian Safi
Yeah, it is.
Chelsea Devante
And I. And knowing that someone's, you know, happy to see you and all that stuff. And then Rupert Everett famously ruined his face when he. First he got, I think, Botox, and then I think he had a.
Brian Safi
Is that why we haven't seen him?
Chelsea Devante
But that's why he look. It would be as though Hugh Grant. Well, we. The thing is, we have seen him. He was just in something recently, and I had. I had no idea who it was. I said.
Ronna Glickman
He was playing Oscar Wilde in something, but then he was on a show.
Chelsea Devante
What was the show? Oh, like a panel. Emily in Paris.
Ronna Glickman
Rupert ever was in it, sweetheart.
Chelsea Devante
He was the Italian artist that, you know, this is my best part. I love this show more than anything in the world. I can't remember any of the characters names. That's how you know, I love it because it's just. It's just take a smashing in my face. And I don't care who made it or whether it's strawberry or raspberry or what it is. What is the name of the boss?
Ronna Glickman
Oh, Helene or no.
Chelsea Devante
So you don't know either. Anyway, she was the one who owned Savoie.
Ronna Glickman
Yeah, No, I know. Plead. The one who walks with her wrist.
Chelsea Devante
Emily in Rome. They. When they.
Ronna Glickman
Sylvie, Sylvie, Sylvie.
Chelsea Devante
Of course. When they become Emily in Rome, he's the guy that helps her start the agency when they need a room to have the big meeting at. And she says, let me make a call. And it's her ex boyfriend who was the last. She was the last straight person that he slept with before he became gay. What a storyline. Wow.
Brian Safi
I. I just. I was just trying to find some. Some face pics, but I just found some really cruel Daily Mail headlines. I love a unique face. His face. So they were.
Chelsea Devante
Imagine how upset you'd be if Hugh Grant got a facelift. He just wouldn't be Hugh Grant.
Ronna Glickman
Remember when Countess Luann made out with him? I love her.
Chelsea Devante
Dear friend of mine, she heard that.
Ronna Glickman
He was in the Hamptons. She heard that he was in the Hamptons at a restaurant. And she called the restaurant and said, can you save me the table next to him?
Chelsea Devante
Is that really what happened?
Ronna Glickman
Yes. Like spilled a drink on him and then just went in for the kill.
Brian Safi
Let me get. Let me get it.
Chelsea Devante
She married a count.
Ronna Glickman
Yeah.
Chelsea Devante
How to do something. I'll tell you something. Those are some very old fashioned call girl tricks. And that's all I'm gonna say about that. Oh, those are. That's an escort trick. Listen, drop the drink, knowing all the matedes in town and having them save you the table, the right table. That's. That is an old, old fashioned working girl trick.
Ronna Glickman
Spilled a drink on him and they said, oh, I'm so sorry. Let me replace your drink. Or do you want to have a drink at the bar? There they went.
Chelsea Devante
He claims to not remember it, but he says that he. But he said he didn't doubt that it happened, but he said he didn't remember that it's the event.
Brian Safi
Oh, that's the ultimate shade. I'm sure I did, but can't.
Ronna Glickman
Well, he's also sort of a man whore.
Chelsea Devante
Yeah, that sounds like me. What year was it? 1993. Sounds like me.
Ronna Glickman
That tracks.
Chelsea Devante
Yeah. Darling, this was such a pleasure.
Ronna Glickman
Oh, my gosh.
Brian Safi
Delightful.
Chelsea Devante
Anything you want us to tell us? Tell the people where they can find you what they should be looking for. All of the things.
Brian Safi
Oh, yeah, listen, come to my Instagram, Elsiedevantes. I book club, the memoirs and my stories. My podcast is called Glamorous Trash. You can. We've been doing celebrity memoirs, but also viral articles. You know, literary trashy. Doing both. Yeah. So come give it a listen. And. And then, you know, I have. I have a memoir out. It is half horrifying trauma and half some jokes around it, so if that's your style. Oh, you do stay away from it. Of course. Yeah.
Chelsea Devante
Yeah.
Brian Safi
Thank you.
Ronna Glickman
Fabulous.
Brian Safi
So much for having me. This was an honor, a dream. People are gonna flip out when I tell them I got to come here, so thank you.
Ronna Glickman
We absolutely adore you. You're so hilarious, so smart.
Brian Safi
Oh, my God. And listen, I know you're probably like, I'm not gonna read a whole book, but if you ever want to, please come on my podcast.
Chelsea Devante
I would adore in a second. We would. But we would either come on together or separately.
Brian Safi
Okay.
Chelsea Devante
We would either do a book or an article.
Ronna Glickman
Anything, whatever.
Brian Safi
Okay, I'm sending an email. Watch out, watch out.
Chelsea Devante
All right, we should do a crossover. I. And we'll. We'll release it here, and you release it.
Brian Safi
Amazing. Wow, that would be so good. Okay. Yeah, let's find something juicy.
Chelsea Devante
All right. Continued success. Love you. What a doll. Fun.
Ronna Glickman
Knew her.
Chelsea Devante
God, come on. I know everybody.
Ronna Glickman
How do you know? Honestly, Ronna, I have to be honest with you. She was a 10 out of 10.
Chelsea Devante
100.
Ronna Glickman
I loved her.
Chelsea Devante
10 out of 10, as you say, you know, so it kind of adds up to the same thing. 10 out of 10 is 100%, you.
Ronna Glickman
Know, don't talk to me.
Chelsea Devante
Well, you're the one who does the quick math, so you tell me, sweetheart, Read the cliffhanger even though you don't want to do any work today.
Ronna Glickman
Are you kidding?
Chelsea Devante
No. Because I know you have a cold. And I know you're the type who used to go home early from school.
Ronna Glickman
Oh, my God, the tricks I would pull. One of my best friends.
Chelsea Devante
Oh, you're totally the type who was like, could you call my mom? And then she was like, get a scooped out bagel.
Ronna Glickman
The nurse and I. The school nurse and I were so tight.
Chelsea Devante
Yeah, that's so. Yeah.
Ronna Glickman
Her name is Beth. She was so fabulous. She was wonderful.
Chelsea Devante
What did she look like? Or what was fabulous about her?
Ronna Glickman
She had great nails all the time. And by great, I mean gigantic. And she always wore, like, the rubber. The keys around the wrist. So when she Would type the keys with jangle on the.
Chelsea Devante
The whole thing was exactly.
Ronna Glickman
The whole thing was so sensory. She wore perfume. I just. I loved her. She was fabulous. She was great. Okay.
Chelsea Devante
Dear Ron, now I think this letter. I don't know whether supposed to know this or not. I think this. Well, maybe it's gonna be revealed in the letter. I'll let it. I'll let it happen and then if it isn't, I'll say something. Oh, but this is someone who's back. Oh, wait a minute. Before we go another minute.
Ronna Glickman
Yes, Dearest heart.
Chelsea Devante
Was it on the Patreon or on the free feed? It must have been the Patreon. We had a double dipper. The person you know I hate a double dipper. Where's Naomi? Put it in the style guide. Don't even. And we've said it by the way a million times. Don't even consider sending us. I told you there has to be either give it three months or whatever it is and if we don't answer your question in three months you can send it to someone else. But I want it timestamped.
Ronna Glickman
That's right. We have a non compete.
Chelsea Devante
We have a non compete. That's what it is. Do not you don't you idea. And I would be curious what Dan had to say.
Ronna Glickman
Well, it's a little bit in here and it was said his advice was nearly identical with ours including a green card Gerard reference.
Chelsea Devante
Well, no, I know. Get out of here.
Ronna Glickman
Yeah.
Chelsea Devante
And damn. People don't want to say this but Dan Savage.
Ronna Glickman
Dan's a friend of the show.
Chelsea Devante
He's basically a combination of if you and I together.
Ronna Glickman
It's so true.
Chelsea Devante
That's Dan Savage.
Ronna Glickman
He's got really solid thoughtful advice. And he's also.
Chelsea Devante
But he doesn't want to think that he is a Ronna and that he thinks he's a Brian. Y And he's such a Ron at Dan Savage.
Ronna Glickman
That's right. He is. He is a. You're right. He is sort of the personification of both.
Chelsea Devante
He kind of lives both lives.
Ronna Glickman
Oh yeah, yeah. I, I. Yeah, yeah. He lives life the way he wants to live it. And you can only praise that honestly. Of course.
Chelsea Devante
Anyway, don't double dip Naomi. Put it in the guide.
Ronna Glickman
Here we go. Dear Ronna Brian, fabulous curated guest help. I found myself in another situation and only ran astute wit and Brian's pizzazz could hope to solve it. Your assistance during the last neighborhood of a compliment pizzazz. Yeah, your assistant. I mean it sounds like a local children. It Sounds like a community children's theater.
Chelsea Devante
Well, no, it sounds like a. Yeah, it sounds like a fun after school program for kids.
Ronna Glickman
That's right. Are your kids enrolled in Pizzazz?
Chelsea Devante
Well, she's got Pizzazz on Thursday, so she can't come. But she could come on Friday. Want to do play date Friday?
Ronna Glickman
It's so true. Oh God. If I stayed in Texas.
Chelsea Devante
Then franchise it and you will just have money rolling in, you see a curriculum.
Ronna Glickman
I got to tell you, if things really take a turn for me, at least now I have a backup plan with Pizzazz.
Chelsea Devante
Did you know that Steve has adopted that for me? And I couldn't figure out where she got it from. Adopted what I say, and I didn't realize I said pizzazz. I've never heard you say, yes, my Pizzazz is what she's adopted, but I do have pizzazz.
Ronna Glickman
No, you do, but you never say that word.
Chelsea Devante
No, I'll say something out loud like why don't we go have a salad and then go and then hit the museum and we'll take a little nap and then we'll get back together for dinner. And then apparently I say, that's a good idea. And so she.
Ronna Glickman
I love you so much.
Chelsea Devante
She pitches me things all. And I had no idea she'll say. She said. She said to me yesterday she did some. I won't get into her personal business. But she basically sold me on the idea that if she did something again, a big milestone if she did it again, that she could have a jelly candy. Okay. I took it to Valentine's Day. A very fancy Valentine's tea.
Ronna Glickman
Tea, right.
Chelsea Devante
The woman at the gift shop fell in love with her and gave her bags full of sweets that she couldn't have, of course, but in the bag were two or three jelly candies, meaning like fruit squares, but fruit slices, but in square form.
Ronna Glickman
Okay.
Chelsea Devante
A pate de free. Okay.
Ronna Glickman
Okay.
Chelsea Devante
And so anyway, she said to me, what if I did this, that the other thing and then I got a jelly candy. That's a good idea. But she does it all the time for anything. What if I did this? That's a good idea. And it took me possibly months to realize that I actually do do that. Couldn't figure out where she got it from.
Ronna Glickman
Were you washing your face and staring in the mirror when it dawned on you? Well, first, like a Pedro Almodovar movie. It's an extreme close up of you.
Chelsea Devante
Yes. It's just padding when she stops. I have reached Pedro Almodova age. Now I could Definitely be in one of his movies.
Ronna Glickman
Oh my God.
Chelsea Devante
Yeah.
Ronna Glickman
If he met you, Rana, if he met you, you would have an entirely different career. All of it. You would be in every single one of his movies till the end of time.
Chelsea Devante
If only his English was good enough to love. He would love us so much.
Ronna Glickman
My God, he would love you so much.
Chelsea Devante
For sure he would love us. I've always. I've loved him forever.
Ronna Glickman
I would be too.
Chelsea Devante
I wanted to be in one of his movies. Now I'm an old woman.
Ronna Glickman
Of course. Rana, you're ageless.
Chelsea Devante
Go on. You're plastic surgery age. Go on.
Ronna Glickman
No, you're not. I found myself in another situation only ran astute wit and Brian's all right. Pizzazz could help solve it. Your assistance during the last go round was pivotal back in episode 14 of Patreon.
Chelsea Devante
Yes. This is a. This is a. A classic. In the canon episode he's about to refer to.
Ronna Glickman
I unfortunately had to deal with assorted groom who was looking for me to pound him.
Chelsea Devante
Remember, this is the minister at the wedding.
Ronna Glickman
Oh my God.
Chelsea Devante
We talk about it all the time. Who?
Ronna Glickman
The groom.
Chelsea Devante
Yeah. Tried to get pounded until he. And it was a heterosexual wedding until.
Ronna Glickman
He quote, detonated on himself.
Chelsea Devante
I forgot that part.
Ronna Glickman
This only hours after I married him.
Chelsea Devante
There was a handless detonation, wasn't there?
Ronna Glickman
Yeah, that's what. That was part of the. That was part of the appeal, apparently, yeah.
Chelsea Devante
Oh, yes, it was something about a hands free detonation.
Ronna Glickman
Well, you'll be disappointed to know Nation, they're still together while she has caught him paying cam girls. The relationship is otherwise just as strong. Great. I attempted to broach the subject but was firmly told to drop it. I'm still holding onto the texts he sent me if and when they start the divorce. Why this is not the second time I'm coming to you both. My now husband asked back in episode 90 about a friend with overly ripe pits reminiscent of a butchery and dumpster broth. My question is. I found a hidden love letter written to me in a gift. Do I say anything now? During a recent moved, I dropped.
Chelsea Devante
If you don't bring. If this. This letter doesn't include the letter. I'm not answering this question.
Ronna Glickman
Oh, it does though, Rana.
Chelsea Devante
Okay. Oh, good.
Ronna Glickman
Yeah. Okay. During a recent move, I dropped a framed gift and to my shock, I found a letter taped to the back of the photo.
Chelsea Devante
Ew.
Ronna Glickman
This is like a Jonathan Saffron foyer prologue.
Chelsea Devante
Also, who's got the time in life? Who's living couldn't live to be 300. To tape a letter to the back of a picture. Maybe they. Maybe they never find it.
Ronna Glickman
The letter is raw, personal and intimate in a way that if not addressed to me, would feel voyeuristic to read. But why did you send it to us?
Chelsea Devante
I have the exact opposite reaction.
Ronna Glickman
To be clear, I'm not mourning a Miss Love. While I care for this other exes. I see. While I care for this person. I never saw us as anything beyond friends. The letter is dated and nearly 10 years old. We live in different states and occasionally chat. But at this point, should I let him know what I found or let it lie?
Chelsea Devante
Oh, interesting.
Ronna Glickman
I have included for your eyes only photos of the wedding so you can see how stunning my friend is and the letter in question. As proof that this Nancy Drew of a mystery is fact, not fiction. Please do not read it aloud. However, feel to describe. Feel free to describe the gist. Give the audience context. Thank you for being a light in these sobering times. Letter. Next page.
Chelsea Devante
Okay, well, let's.
Ronna Glickman
In the wedding picture. Can we just look at that?
Chelsea Devante
Read the letter, though, now, because that deal is. What is that? That, I feel, is what we will do on the Patreon. That's so special. God. The most upsetting part is the picture that the letter was behind.
Ronna Glickman
What the fuck is that? What is that?
Chelsea Devante
We're gonna gonna. By the way, sombering isn't a word.
Ronna Glickman
No, it isn't.
Chelsea Devante
Okay.
Ronna Glickman
He also spelled patreon P, A, T, R, I, O, N, which I'll forgive.
Chelsea Devante
Samba Times, not Sombering times.
Ronna Glickman
But. Rana, I have a question about the wedding picture, but. So that groom. Well, the minister's in the middle. He's a letter writer.
Chelsea Devante
Oh, okay. That's the letter writer.
Ronna Glickman
So the minister.
Chelsea Devante
I thought the picture was of the guy who wrote the letter.
Ronna Glickman
Yeah, it is.
Chelsea Devante
Who wrote the love letter?
Ronna Glickman
No, the guy.
Chelsea Devante
The photos of the wedding. So you can see how stunning my friend is and the letter in question.
Ronna Glickman
But Rana, in the wedding picture isn't.
Chelsea Devante
This is the people who are.
Ronna Glickman
The groom, the guy who wanted him to bang. Am I dead wrong about all this?
Chelsea Devante
No, it's one or the other. Either it's the friend that wrote, it's gotta be that. Why would they send us a wedding picture of this guy if that's what it was? So it's gotta be that. I think what he's trying to say is, look how gorgeous my friend is. She can do better than the detonator on the. Right, Right?
Ronna Glickman
No, the whole thing is so shocking. No, yes, that's true. And then the picture next to it is, why would anyone do it?
Chelsea Devante
The letter we're not gonna read until we go on Patreon. We're gonna give our impression of the letter. But I don't wanna give the impression now because we have to hold something back for just our Patreons. You understand?
Ronna Glickman
Yeah, I do.
Chelsea Devante
You're already reading it.
Ronna Glickman
No, I know, I'm sorry.
Chelsea Devante
Because I want your first impression after we read it on the Patreon.
Ronna Glickman
Fine.
Chelsea Devante
Does that make sense?
Ronna Glickman
It does. Go to patreon.com askrana to listen to this. Sorted. I mean, everything about this guy's life is sorted.
Chelsea Devante
Amazing.
Ronna Glickman
What the energy our letter writer attracts.
Chelsea Devante
You might. You gotta wonder.
Ronna Glickman
So go to patreon.com askarana we want to thank everyone again for being at the Lonely Hearts.
Chelsea Devante
Oh, it was amazing. It was amazing. I have to tell people. AI Social Club. Anaka, I don't know what the date is, but it's certainly not match.
Ronna Glickman
First we're doing a spring.
Chelsea Devante
The cocktail that we're doing is incredible. I just got off the phone with Nick and Connor and it is a truly spring alpine situation and I'm very excited about it. So join us@aisocial.club or AI Social, whatever it is. That's right, isn't it?
Ronna Glickman
Yeah, it's arsocialclub.com or arasocial club and join us.
Chelsea Devante
We have an absolute blast over there.
Ronna Glickman
Now, is it too late, Rana, for people to. To get. If they can, they still buy tickets to Lonely Hearts and watch the link house.
Chelsea Devante
Yes, they. They can buy it and watch the ask live.com they can watch the rewatch.
Ronna Glickman
Okay, perfect.
Chelsea Devante
Yeah. All right, sweetheart.
Ronna Glickman
Love you.
Chelsea Devante
Just kiss Sam.
