The following podcast is a dear media production. Two Jews, both big and tall. No subject too small for the Good Guys. A Mother Stream premium podcast team.
Ben
Make it your weekly routine. It's a Good Guys.
Josh
And if you don't give us five stars. What are you nuts?
Ben
What are you nuts? Yeah, we're the good guys.
Josh
They're not the great guys. We're just the good and good of the good guys. Masomorons. Welcome back to the Good Guys podcast. Josh.
Ben
I almost killed somebody driving over here.
Josh
Say more.
Ben
It wasn't like. No, no, it was. It was actually. It was truly one of the scariest moments of my life driving a car. These Hamptons roads are very windy. Okay. I was going. I was going slow. And by the way, if I was going fast, I would be a murderer. Today. You would be talking to a murderer. A construction worker was laying down on the side of the road.
Josh
What?
Ben
Like his backpack behind his head, scrolling on his phone, laying down so I couldn't see him. If I was even just outside of the lines, I would have run him over. And I looked back, and it was. He was laying there, and then there were, like, guys behind him, like, eating lunch. He was, I swear on my life, laying within 6 inches of the white line.
Josh
Whoa.
Ben
On the side of the road. His head. The back of his head facing me as I'm driving. You know how they, like, throw, like, a backpack or something behind their head and they're laying on the side of the road.
Josh
Bad. All bad.
Ben
I had a heart attack. It's all good. Everybody's safe. Everybody's fine. But let me tell you, that was a real jolt to my system. It was. I was very emotional after. I was like, oh, my God. Like, my whole. I don't think we could podcast anymore if I killed someone.
Josh
Not today. We'd have to take a few days off.
Ben
What do we have to take off? 48 hours?
Josh
Well,
Ben
yeah, a couple days, I'd be in prison. How do we. I guess we do a remote. We do it from prison.
Josh
A prison pod.
Ben
It would definitely help viewership if I was in the slammer. And every day I recapped my day in the slammer.
Josh
There's a new podcast from this guy who has stage four cancer, and he calls it. And he. So he does the podcast while he's getting his chemo treatment. It's called the Poor Cast, but wow. Yeah. And he has all these comedians on. It's kind of morbid and great. So prison pod could work.
Ben
I think prison pod is a great idea. I Think Tiger King should do it? Yeah, I would. I would watch the Tiger King live.
Josh
Welcome back to the. To the prison podcast. Welcome back to the prison podcast. What was his name?
Ben
I was about to say Todd Chrisley.
Josh
Todd Chrisley. By the way, you've been ghosting me. What the hell, man? Your publicist is gon. You're going to get in touch. I haven't heard. Where is she?
Ben
Todd? Yeah, I don't even. I don't even know if we need Todd.
Josh
He was excited. No, we needed to. I was excited.
Ben
I love Todd. No, I'm a. The Chrisleys. One of the greatest moments in time in reality tv.
Josh
Yeah, it's the. It's the American family.
Ben
Yeah. I'm down.
Josh
Grayson. No, I don't know.
Ben
Oh, my God. Josh Grayson. Do you know Grayson Clothing?
Josh
No.
Ben
This brand. First of all, I can get you. Oh, my God. So much beautiful, free clothes. I think that the owner used to work at Ralph Lauren. They spun up. It's technically a golf company, but they make the most gorgeous clothing. They invited me to their Southampton showroom. I got $2,000 in beautiful clothes. This. We're talking cashmere sweaters. I got a suit. A suit. That's the material of sweatpants. You would never know. I'm going to connect you to them. Speaking of Grayson, you'll love them.
Josh
Fabulous. I love all athleisure wear. And having a slumpy suit that's actually sweatpant fiber is top tier.
Ben
It looks. It looks like my theory suit, except it's literally. It's sweatpants. I'm wearing sweatpants.
Josh
Unbelievable.
Ben
It's unbelievable.
Josh
Oh. So I have to give you a good Barb update.
Ben
Ooh. Okay.
Josh
Okay.
Ben
All right.
Josh
This is good.
Ben
Okay. All right. How's she doing?
Josh
Let me see how, like, honest I want to be with the morons. So I don't know if my mom listens to the pod as much anymore, but she did give me permission to share this, so. My mother's 82. She's at a wonderful senior community in Southern Florida, as you all know, she's dealing with. She's getting older quick. Let's just call it that. I want to be graceful, and I'll slowly share more one day with the people. But, you know, I'm her only son, and so I'm sort of in charge of her health and, you know, her medical decisions, which I'm happy to do. Well, my mom got what a lot of older people get. She got a little uti.
Ben
Hey.
Josh
Happens, you know?
Ben
Sure.
Josh
God willing. She didn't get it from the way that a lot of women our age get it, which is after. Ah, sorry. Could you imagine?
Ben
Yucky.
Josh
A byproduct or a symptom can be hallucinations. So my mom was seeing people, and this was a thing that we had to deal with for a long time. A long time. I mean, a couple days where she had a lot of these hallucinations. So she would call me, she'd go, josh, there are people in my room. And I go, should we call the police? And she goes, no, I know they're not here, but there's people here. Now, my mom is a lovely aide. And as we know, in South Florida and New Jersey, a lot of the East Coast, a lot of the people who work in nursing and whatnot are these wonderful people, either from the islands, from Jamaica, from all over the Caribbean. Beautiful, extraordinary people who are truly the salt of the earth. And my mom has this wonderful aide who was helping her, and she goes, tamara, there's someone behind you. And all I hear from Tamara is,
Ben
there's no one here.
Josh
Ms. Barbara. No, Ms. Barbara, you're hallucinating. And I was like, tamra, I'm sorry. And, you know, I'm having these. These side talks with Tamara. And she goes, she's fine. She's just, you know, and she's seeing these people. And then my mom goes, you know, there's a woman sitting on my bed. And I go, okay. I said, you know, it's a hallucination. Right, Mom? She goes, yeah. She goes, you know, it's a shame. She's very overweight.
Ben
I'm like, what the fuck? I'm like, that's so. I'm trying to think. So, first of all, I hope she gets better soon. We love you, Barb. If you are listening, yes, we love you, and we don't want you hallucinating. I'm sorry that you're going through that. That can't be fun. I'm trying to wrap my head around knowing that you're hallucinating, you know, because that almost seems like I never, like, okay, you see someone, but you know that they're not there. How does that even work?
Josh
I mean, look, thankfully, you know, we're able to. And I know that I'm in a unique position where I have the money to be able to, like, get my mom help. Thank God. And. And, you know, I should.
Ben
I should pause you there for one second. Nobody has the money to get their mom help. I just want to say that, like, I don't think I say that enough to you, and I don't think just because we're diving into this, not enough people talk about this or know this. If you are helping out your parent financially, even if you have all the money in the world, that could have been something that you used on something else. And it's a really big deal. And I'm sure she's very thankful. But, like, I've. I've heard this, like, time and time again. I was on a call earlier this morning, and this woman who I was on the call with spoke about how, like, the financial burdens of moving her parent into an elder care situation.
Josh
It's.
Ben
It's very expensive.
Josh
Very.
Ben
And no matter how well off well to do you are, it's. It's still a big undertaking. So thanks.
Josh
Yeah. And I think a lot of people deal with it. And, you know, look, our culture in America is different from a lot of the other world, where most people from, you know, outside the US Would be like, you have an elderly parent, like, why aren't they living with you?
Ben
Right.
Josh
But we unfortunately don't always have that here. And. And my mom was in California, and it was great for almost 20 years, but two and a half years ago, she was like, my friends are in Florida, and I love your family, but it's an opportunity for me to go be there in Southern Florida for you. As, you know, for an old Jew from New York is kind of the epicenter. And. And she's like, I'd really like to try it. So it's hard that she's away, which is why I need an aide to help me when I can't be out there myself. But. And, you know, I don't have siblings or anything, but it's. It's been an interesting, interesting journey, and I feel lucky that I have. I'm able to get her the help that. That she needs. And I think that as kind of, you know, the medicine was kicking in and she was getting better. She had a better understanding of, like, well, clearly they're not here. Like, they're not just standing around like, you know, she's like, nothing's missing. I'm like, yeah, Ma, you're not getting robbed by your illusions.
Ben
But so scary.
Josh
I just found it fascinating that she was judgmental of her fat hallucination.
Ben

Josh
Yeah.
Ben
I can't. I cannot. I look at anyone and I think about their weight. Anyone, and I think about their weight. I don't know if normal people think about other people's weights like this. I'm sure they don't.
Josh
Yeah.
Ben
By the way, Josh, I have a new diet hack. Before I go to bed, I eat a carton of blueberries. Let me tell you, they fill me up. I don't want to snack. And it's been very helpful for Me
Josh
within carton of blueberries within three hours of bed. Are you doing this?
Ben
I'm doing it 90 minutes before bed.
Josh
Can't you just try to stretch it?
Ben
I'm sleeping like a baby. You think that something's working, Josh, I'm sleeping like a baby. And it's probably because what you're striving for is perfection. Where I'm at right now is a middle ground. I'm not eating. I even. Even though they were diet snacks, I went in, I was eating a bag of Drizzalicious. I was eating just like two, like. Okay, I get it. It's 90 calories per serving. There's five servings. These little yasso poppables. Delicious, healthier Greek yogurt, whatever. I was eating too much. I was eating too much. And blueberries, they. They fill me. They give me that sweet tooth. Blueberries and Mad Men. I'm sleeping like a rock.
Josh
All right, I agree. I'm going for perfection. And you're going for pretty good.
Ben
You want. No, no. But you want. Okay, so perfection to you is you stop eating three hours before you go to sleep.
Josh
It's not perfection. I've just read from the great Brian Johnson, who wants to live forever, another person who's been ghosting me left and right for the podcast. He says that if you don't leave that three hour window before you fall asleep, if you don't leave it empty without food, your body naturally will spend a lot of that sleep time digesting the food, heating your body up so that you don't. You like literally go one degree higher in temperature. It just. You don't get the restful sleep that you would get if you just ate the blueberries at 7. But I get it.
Ben
I go to sleep 9:30. I don't know how. I mean, I guess I eat dinner at 5. I guess I could, I could.
Josh
6:30.
Ben
It would take a lot of willpower. You know, last night maybe I did two and a half hours. I don't think I ate past seven. And I went to bed at 9:30. I think my timing's just a little bit off. But yet it's a lot of willpower. But if you're a big fat fatty and you're struggling with snacks at night, just grab a carton of your favorite berry. They're mainly. They're mainly water and they're fine. They're really. And they're really delicious and fibrous. Yeah, so I've heard the raspberry is number one. 90% water. Very fibrous. Is it as fun a berry to eat as black or blueberry? No, but if we're striving for perfection.
Josh
Oh, I love Sperry. I love her. You say raspberry. Raspberry.
Ben
No, I say raspberry. I think the people who say raspberry just want you to know that they can spell.
Josh
Yeah, absolutely.
Ben
There's no reason to say it like that.
Josh
No, it's a show off thing.
Ben
I get it. You can spell.
Josh
Yeah. Mazel.
Ben
I get it. You can spell.
Josh
Yeah. What do you want, an award? What do you want, a trophy?
Ben
We love you, Barb. And I hope you're staying in the air conditioning because South Florida in July is. What are you nuts?
Josh
Oh, my God. No. My mom is having the time of her life at the beautiful senior community. She doesn't leave her room, but other than that, she's loving it.
Ben
Are the ladies. Does she play mahjong?
Josh
You've asked. No, she doesn't. She thinks she's too good for it. She's busy criticizing her fat hallucinations.
Ben
You need to play. She needs to blame ajong. And the fact that I forgot that you said no means that she really needs to blame ajang. Like that means that she should be playing mahjong. Barb, this is a fun game. The kids are in it, too. Everybody's in. You'd love it.
Josh
Like, my mom has this doctor who comes, a new doctor, and they do house calls for older people. And so she was telling me, like, I have this wonderful new doctor. He's fabulous. I'm like, expecting to hear her say, like, oh, he's, you know, trained John Hopkins. Or he's like, has all this accreditation. She goes, tall, thin. What a handshake. I was like, ma, you are shallow.
Ben
Oh, my God. Tall, thin. What handshake?
Josh
Oh, man, our parents.
Ben
She's a treasure. I was gonna say, Ava and Bruce are about to take their yearly pilgrimage to another place. Last year, the Galapagos.
Josh
Yeah.
Ben
And this year they're going to South Korea. They flying to Tokyo. They're going to South Korea. They're going to Vietnam. They're. They're exploring that area. And let me tell you, I'm worried. I'm. I'm worried about my dad on this strip. My mom, she's different. Even though they're like, they're two years apart in age, they feel about 15 years apart in age. My mom is sprightly, and I just don't want my dad to get lost. I really don't.
Josh
Benjamin, I'm in Ho Chi Minh City. Benjamin. We're in South Korea. I'm staying in Filet of Seoul. You get it? Benjamin? Filet of Soul.
Ben
Oh, my God. And I really hope he doesn't drink too much and then put on an Asian accent, because he can do that. Oh, my God. He can do that. And if he does that there, he's not coming home.
Josh
Benjamin. I had too much soju and I offended our tour guide.
Ben
Oh, my God. That's going to happen.
Josh
Benjamin. I was telling our tour guide about where the name Lululemon came from. He didn't get it. He didn't think it was his funny. Lululemon. You know, it's a thing.
Ben
I'm so worried. I'm so worried. But I. But they're gonna have a great time.
Josh
Okay, so Tokyo, Seoul, and then Vietnam,
Ben
I think they just fly into Tokyo. They go to South Korea, they go to Vietnam. They go on a bunch of different stops. It's like one of these, like, programs. They did it last year, too. It's with a bunch of other couples. And it's, I don't think, a swingers event, but they go with another couple, and they have a great time. And they're fortunate that the husband is also very active and a doer, and the wife doesn't really want to do much. My dad doesn't want to do much. So the more I think about it, it's probably a swingers event.
Josh
Benjamin, do you know where my pineapple door hanger is? I swear it's purely a coincidence. I just like it. Don't read into it. Benjamin. The pineapple door hanger, Isn't that what they put on the door?
Ben
Yeah, they do pineapple.
Josh
I wonder what it's like. And I say this in all sincerity, like, for Bruce and Ava, right? They raised two amazing kids, married Baruch Hashem, one has a kid. Like, obviously you never stop worrying about your kids, but, like, so many major milestones accomplished. Thank God they have their health. They, you know, they're. They have enough, you know, scratch to go on a nice trip. Like, I just can't imagine what it would feel like to, like, walk around these amazing places and, like, kind of go, like, I got nothing to worry about. Like, the H, Right?
Ben
Yeah.
Josh
Pretty cool.
Ben
From. From an outsider's perspective, it's all I could ever want.
Josh
Yeah.
Ben
Truthfully, it's all I could ever want. But similarly, you've met them. Like, I absolutely hit the jackpot. Like, we've been on, like, a million different. Like, we've spoken about it, but We've also had like, guests on like a Jesse Kiersten or a Mel Robbins or whoever it was and like, like, gone into a little bit like, oh, like, my parents this, my parents that. And like, there's always been like a running joke like, oh, like Ben, there's really nothing. And it's like, like really no. Like, sure. Eating food for sure. That stuff. But, like, besides that, like, I really am like, the most. For one of the most fortunate people ever.
Josh
Right.
Ben
It's just. It's really their salt of the earth, like, would give me their last anything. Like, you want me to go there, I'll be there. You need me to do this, I'll do that. And it's never with any judgment. It's like, it's so. I'm very, very blessed and want to be that for Ruby, will be that for Ruby. Like, it really is that way. Like, if you have great parents, you're. I think it's significantly easier to be a great parent if you didn't. I'm sure it's hard to figure it out, but, yeah, I'm very fortunate. Very fortunate.
Josh
Yeah. It's like I'm in a funny place because I like, I obviously, like, my whole life is. Is about being a dad and it's like my greatest joy. And I never thought I would get to this point and I hope you're not listening, Paige, but like, we have a seven, three and one year old and it's the greatest and it's hard and where we are in our lives right now. I've like, I never felt this. I'm like, I feel done having kids. Like, I'm. Yeah, I'm good. And usually when I would think that way, I would get so sad at the idea of never having another baby again or like, as they get older, like missing out on, like, having purpose and. And to be needed and wanted because, you know, as. As they move up throughout their life. Like, I feel it with Max even where he like, really loves being with his friends over hanging out with us sometimes. I mean, it's still. He's young, he's seven, so were still his primary. But, you know, it's healthy and. But yeah, it's like, I also. There's a part of me that goes like, I did this three times and it's been fabulous and I don't know if I need to do it a fourth and fifth time. Which, yeah, I imagine is healthy and good.
Ben
I think it's healthy and good. I think it's good to be content. Like you have, knock on wood, three beautiful, healthy boys. Like, yeah, there's also, like something to that. And yeah, I think that, not to get too morbid, I definitely think about my mortality a lot. I think about my parents a lot. I sit up at night. I'm sure you do the same thing. You said your mom is aging. It's hard. It's very, very hard to think like this. But I also think like, okay, depending on when I have my last child, God willing, or when my wife does and I just like sit there and like do my thing, I will then be. They'll be. If I'm 40 and I'm fortunate enough to live to 90, that's a beautiful, full life. They lose their dad at 50, right? Like, it's, it's just I saw it with my dad because my dad has a, a 13 year age gap to his older brother and then a 20 year age gap to my deceased aunt.
Josh
Right.
Ben
And so I lost both of my grandparents on his side by the time I was seven. And he in turn lost his parents, I guess in his 40s.
Josh
Right.
Ben
And that's not because they didn't live beautiful, full lives. They did. They died in their late, late, late 80s.
Josh
Right.
Ben
But it's also that. And I'm not saying that 50 beautiful years isn't worth it, but it's something to think about too, that I think about a lot. I really do.
Josh
It's nice. But when people in their 60s still have their parents alive, I'm like, you know, that's weird.
Ben
Yes. When you're a grandparent with grand with parents for sure. And then you meet those kids as well. And I just think they're, they're so fortunate, but they're a different breed. You'll meet a 33 year old with grandparents and they don't get it at all.
Josh
Right?
Ben
They don't get it at all. Like, I will see people, like, so sad and I get it. Of course, you're so sad that your grandfather passed away. You're 33. You had a grandpa at 33, right?
Josh
It's pretty lit.
Ben
It's unbelievable. It's unbelievable. This episode of the Good Guys podcast is brought to you by our friends at Branch Basics. Folks, here's the thing. If you're someone who pays attention to what your family is eating, what's going on with their skin and what's in your environment, you probably also care about the ingredients in your cleaning products. When you start paying attention, you realize a lot of conventional cleaning products contain things linked to hormone disruption. Skin sensitivity and respiratory irritation with repeated exposure, even when they're marketed to feel safe or natural. That's because in the US Companies aren't required to disclose every ingredient in those formulas. And even if it looks like they do, they may use generic words like fragrance on the list, which can legally mask hundreds of harmful chemicals. And the more you look into it, the more you understand that what you clean with, what you clean, your kitchen counters with, your dishes, your clothes, has the potential to shape the health of your home more than you realize. And for a lot of people, this becomes the moment that they start craving something simpler and more transparent for their homes and for their families. Which is where Branch Basics comes in. Because Branch Basics is disrupting the cleaning space in a few really intentional ways. They fully disclose all ingredients on their packaging, which is something most conventional cleaning brands still don't do in a clear, accessible way. Everything is fragrance free and made with human, safe ingredients designed for everyday use across your home. There's no more guesswork. I'm telling you, with young kids in the house, me, I have very sensitive skin. Branch Basics has been amazing. It's one less thing to worry about. Why wouldn't you have a cleaner home? I mean, it's physically cleaner, but don't we want to feel good in all ways? And here's the good news, folks. Branch Basics is now available everywhere you shop. We're talking Target, Target.com, amazon, and of course course, branch basics dot com. Tossing the toxins has never been more convenient for anyone. Grabbing the premium starter kit. You can still get 15 off at branch basics. That's B R A n c H B A s I c s.com with code goodguys. Folks, it's the most wonderful time of the year at Staples. Back to school season. I know what you're thinking, Ben. It's July. I know. Your kids are literally going to school next month. Depends on where you live. East coast, it's September. Southeast, I think it's August. These kids are in there in August. It's here. It's time. Also, you should plan ahead. Josh
Do you want to know what I did yesterday? Guess. Real Hollywood, real celebrity.
Ben
Really Celebrity? I mean, considering it was a Tuesday, maybe you went to like a party from 5 to 7.
Josh
Close. I got a full body MRI scan at pre nouveau Hollywood that is like Hollywood.
Ben
Is there anything that makes you more of a nervous Nelly than doing something like that?
Josh
You know, my wife was the one. I had talked to them like a year and a half ago and I was going to do it and then I just wound up not doing it. And then my wife was like, you remember that pre nouveau scan? Can we do that? I think she's just like a little bit, gets in her head about things and so. Wow, let me tell you, I haven't gotten my results yet, but whatever they are, even if this, this experience was so good, even if it's bad news, it was worth it. What?
Ben
What? Walk me through the experience.
Josh
Okay, so you go in, this is just and not sponsored, nothing, just a experience. You go in, they do a quick little assessment. This is how I know that I am an addict. So my wife, they ask you in your, your questionnaire, they go, are you claustrophobic, afraid of tight spaces, blah blah, blah, blah, blah. And my wife was like, yeah, I have anxiety about that. I was like, no, I'm A man? What are you talking about? And they go, oh. And so my wife was like, oh, they're prescribing me some anti anxiety medicine for the scan because they know that I'm claustrophobic and I get really nervous in an mri and I go, fuck, I should have answered differently. So then I see what they, they prescribed her and I'm like, what? I'm like, what you get? Ativan, Valium, Xanax, the good shit. And she goes, no, it's like, it's called hydroxine or basically it's like a strong antihistamine in the Benadryl family that makes you just like a little bit you drowsy and relaxed and it's very short acting and it's like. And I just looked at her pill bottle and went like, this is how I know I'm sick. Like,
Ben
like, yeah, that's too weak. Yeah. What?
Josh
Like as soon as I looked it up and I was like, anti hits
Ben
to me and I was like, like, for what?
Josh
So I'm glad I didn't get those pills. But yeah, it's really. Have you ever had an MRI before? Probably for your head, right, when you have surgery?
Ben
I was gonna say I've had a lot of MRIs. A lot. And it never got easier for me to be in that tube without a Valium or something. Like, I get very claustrophobic in that type of environment. Very.
Josh
You know what I found nice was basically they have something over your face so that you can. They're scanning your brain too, but they also. And there's like a mirror pointed at a tv, like a projector behind you, and you have audio in your headphones so you can watch Netflix.
Ben
Oh, that's lovely.
Josh
It was lovely. So the whole thing like. And it was, it took about 50 minutes, but I fell asleep during it. It was like a wonderful easy. I get my results in two days. So then they have a radiologist go with you. But they can see like 500 different kinds of possible, you know, disease cancer in its early stages also. Really. I just want to know why I get out of bed in pain. I get out of bed, my back hurts, my elbow hurts, tmj, a lisp, it's not good.
Ben
And they're gonna be able to tell you about that stuff?
Josh
Well, definitely back issues and possibly like any tears or. I don't know exactly. And I don't want to over talk, but I think it really gives you like a good baseline about where your health is at and where you can be proactive if you want.
Ben
Interesting. Like, I think I'm just too much of a hypochondriac to do something like that.
Josh
Why?
Ben
Like, I don't know. I just. Like, I would. I'm sure that, like, there's nobody in the world that would get a clean scan. Totally clean. Is that even possible? I feel like we all have something going on and, like, maybe it is smart to get ahead of it. I am. I am definitely pro getting ahead of scary things.
Josh
You do like the function, you'll do like the function. Proud sponsor the good guys.
Ben
You'll do like.
Josh
Like, that is as informative as anything else. A really in depth blood test that can tell you, like, that's that stuff.
Ben
I do. I guess it's the same thing because I do love blood tests.
Josh
Me too.
Ben
So I guess it's just like a. Right. Yeah. It's amazing to see. Especially when they're good. You get to see that you're all normal or all great. I guess that. Yeah, you know, maybe I'll give it a shot. Maybe I will give it a shot.
Josh
Did you see the video of the guy who's walking down the street and he goes, just saw a bunch of guys under a bridge shooting a peptide. So cool to see them really focusing on their health.
Ben
Yeah, I've seen that.
Josh
Should we get to a weird story?
Ben
I would love to. I want really weird. You got anything really weird or just like fringe weird strippers? The boob jobs guy who's bleeding after penal something or other? The Post. I need really weird.
Josh
Well, from the New York Post. Pregnant and shameless women's in and out order sparks loud opinions after viral post. She had. She had a bun in the oven and four more in her stomach. A pregnant woman had viewers salivating after sharing photos of the massive in and out banquet she ordered to satisfy her prenatal cravings. Pregnant and shameless. The Hangry customer ordered two cheeseburgers, two fries, one strawberry shake, and one large pink lemonade. If that wasn't artery clogging enough, the Redditor also had one of her fries and one of the burgers animal style. Nothing wrong with that.
Ben
Who gives a shit? What do you. What does this even mean? Is the Post shaming a pregnant woman?
Josh
Yeah, let that queen eat.
Ben
She's hungry. She's. Maybe she is having twins.
Josh
She's eating.
Ben
She could be eating for 3, 4, 5.
Josh
Maybe her goal is gestational diabetes, which is lit and trending.
Ben
She could be down. It could be that or she could just be freaking hungry. Josh, Maybe she's hungry. Leave her alone. Leave the woman alone.
Josh
Yeah. Also, airlines could ban certain disruptive conversations on flights under passenger Sanity Bill.
Ben
Good.
Josh
The Quiet Skies act is a rare move of bipartisan legislation that could finalize a ban on in flight calls on commercial planes. That's allowed.
Ben
I guess it's just frowned upon now. Not, not like, not illegal, like, I guess. You know what? I've never thought about this before, Josh. We know that smoking, for example, in the bathroom of an airline is a fineable offense and you could go to jail. You also know similarly in a taxicab, if you were to put your hands on the taxicab driver, punishable up to 25 years in prison. There are, there are signs that we've come to know. But they say over the loudspeaker on a plane, you know, they say maybe their recommendations, Josh, maybe they're strong recommendations, not things that are illegal. Fascinating. If you.
Josh
I just know I'm going to get in a fight about this. Like, if you are on a, on my flight, on the phone, there better be an air marshal on board, dog. I'm going to be like Dustin Poirier when he got pulled off the plane. He was like, it's going to be bad. It's going to be bad. Like, if you're on the phone, I'm going to call you out. We're going to have a fucking issue. They're going to, they're going to land this plane and we're both going to jail.
Ben
Are you, you're going to, you're going to tell them?
Josh
Yeah, 100%.
Ben
So I wouldn't tell them. I would complain about them forever to you, but I wouldn't tell them. I might if they're not near me. Like, I might tell the flight. I guess, actually, if they're next to me on the phone.
Josh
Little tattletail.
Ben
I would probably say something if they were next to me. I, I, I have to. You have to. If you're on a call on a flight. This is no good.
Josh
No good. No good.
Ben
This is, this is no good.
Josh
Well, single women reveal the strange new dating deal breaker. It's a heavy no for me. It's having a roommate. Women don't want to be with guys who have roommates. They want them to have their own place.
Ben
It's really not that shocking. I get it.
Josh
Totally.
Ben
I, I get it. You're not, you're not in like, you're not having a threesome. There's no like polygamy going on here.
Josh
Right.
Ben
Like you, you should be dating a man with his own place. Yeah, I think that. I think that's fair. That way eventually it's yours and his place. Or you should be dating a woman with her own place. Somebody needs to have their own quarters. One of you needs to have your own quarters, certainly. Yeah, yeah, no, I think that's a very, very normal ick. Unless of course, we're talking like, if you're in your 20s, no problem. But if we're talking about upper 20s, 30s, you need to have your own place. Even if it's small, it should be a place of your own. Otherwise I don't judge her whatsoever.
Josh
Well, did you know that Oreo and Reese's teamed up for a Cold Stone Creamery? New ice cream top.
Ben
Oh, my God. Oh my God, oh my God, oh my God.
Josh
Have you seen it? I want it back. I want it fucking bad.
Ben
I haven't seen it, but let me tell you, the greatest place in the world is cold stone.
Josh
Sure is.
Ben
I love cold stone. And when you think about it, the name is genius. It's literally a cold stone.
Josh
Yeah, I know. You think? I don't know.
Ben
It's genius. Okay, so tell me about this taco. It's. It's filled with ice cream and then they put Reese's on top or they put like Oreo on top.
Josh
It's like a Reese's Oreo dusting on top with Oreo ice cream. And it's. It's hearty, it's. It's a handful.
Ben
So they call it a taco, but really it is just a waffle cone shaped like a taco.
Josh
Yeah.
Ben
Is that right?
Josh
Okay, sure.
Ben
What's really the right. That's what it is. It's a waffle taco.
Josh
A taco is just corn in the shape of a taco.
Ben
Yeah, correct. But it's. But this isn't a corn tortilla.
Josh
No, no.
Ben
This is a waffle. This is a waffle.
Josh
Yes, your honor. God, no. Stop your cross examination.
Ben
That sounds spectacular. I went to an ice cream place. I didn't realize this. I went to an ice cream place over the weekend and I watched them hand making waffle cones. I watched start out flat and they roll it. I had a guess. I don't know how else you would have done it. I watched them do. It was magic.
Josh
Sure is.
Ben
And then, Josh, I got the 25 calorie, no sugar, no lactose soft serve. Now let me tell you, instant belly ache. Instant, instant. You think you're cutting calories? Sure, sure. You're Cutting calories. But you're developing like an ulcer. Yeah, don't do it. I'm never doing it again. This is the last time that I have diet ice cream like this from a soft serve lactose for. No, no, no.
Josh
Just eat it.
Ben
Just eat it.
Josh
Just eat it.
Ben
Have a small one. That should be Nike's new slogan if they made something for fatsos. Just eat it.
Josh
Just eat it and have a small one.
Ben

It sounds amazing. You don't want the big price tag of a five star hotel. I mean Resort Pass, it's most wonderful staycation. You're going to feel recharged and then you're going to go back to your house. You get to sleep in your own bed. Imagine that. You get to feel recharged but go back to your own bed. Now my favorite way to think about doing this is you're traveling. Okay? You want to stay at that beautiful boutique hotel. They're gorgeous. The only problem is they don't have a spa. You can go and use the spa at the five star hotel. Maybe the boutique hotel is a small pool. You want to go and use the hot tub at the big hotel next door, but you don't want to stay with all the people at the big hotel. This is a win win. You pay the price tag of a boutique, you get the services of a five star. Are you kidding me? It's absolutely fantastic. What a great idea. Whoever thought of it? Kudos to you. It is the the greatest change for me that I've ever experienced as it relates to weight management, weight loss, et cetera. Now, there's misconceptions. This stuff costs a lot of money. This stuff doesn't have to cost a lot of money. And RO does an amazing job at that. First and foremost, you can go to ROE Co and you can use their free insurance checker and you can see if you're covered by insurance. If you're not covered by insurance, they still have the most affordable options anywhere. They deliver it straight to your door. And these are brand names that, you know, WeGovy, Zeppbound, whatever. Josh
This episode is brought to you by Starbucks.
Ben
Josh, I know I say this all the time. I'm fair weather Sally. I know. And by the way, I just made that up. Fair weather Sally, I like that. But this, Josh, this is the drink of the summer. It's my new favorite drink. It's the blended pink energy drink from Starbucks. And let me tell you, it is refreshing, it is creamy, it is delicious. It's everything you need.
Josh
It's so funny you bring up the Starbucks Blended pink energy drink. What I'm enjoying right now. Watch for the sip. Is this asmr? Did you hear the after? I didn't put that on at all. And I've gone to 15 years of acting class. You'd think I'd be further in my career. I digress. But this is so fruity. It's so refreshing. And you know what else is great? It's got a little boost of energy for on the go dads like us. Or if you're just on the go,
Ben
we could always use a little boost of energy and let me tell you. With flavors of sweet strawberry and acai. I like my pronunciation. None of that acai crap. Acai are blended with real pieces of strawberry, coconut milk and ice. Josh, even your vegan wife can enjoy this.
Josh
I love everything about this, and it's really. It's giving summer. I feel like I'm not in a podcast studio right now. I feel like I'm at a pool. I just put it in order. I ordered. You ready for the order? I ordered a Caesar salad with grilled shrimp and a side of fries because I deserve it.
Ben
Oh. Oh, my God. And don't forget your blended pink energy drink from Starbucks, folks. If you're looking to switch up your order, this blended pink energy drink is it. I'm telling you, you won't regret it. It's a 10 out of 10.
Josh
Order it on the app. The Starbucks blended pink energy drink. It's a drink of the summer.
Ben
You want to do a moron mail?
Josh
Sure.
Ben
I have two of them. Okay, first of all, folks, the moron mails through the roof. Goodguys podcast, onemail.com. keep writing in. We'll keep reading. We're friends. Okay? You deliver to me. I delivered to you. Josh. I have one that's really. I debated not even doing this one. Okay, it's bad, it's bad, it's bad.
Josh
Good.
Ben
Hey, good. Guys, I'm a Midwest mom who has been listening to you since the very beginning. Thank you very much. Unfortunately, this is a true story. My husband and I have two small kids together, and he's from a small town. My mother and father in law still live in that small town. One of their close neighbors has several feral cats. My father in law gets mad because these feral cats defecate in his yard. He used to catch them and drive them far enough away so they wouldn't come back. But I just found out. Josh, this is bad. He drowned the cat.
Josh
Oy, ay, ay.
Ben
This is incredibly disturbing to me. And My husband thinks that this is psychopathic behavior. I no longer trust him with my young kids and I don't know what the future looks like. What would you do? Yes, Ben, I know there are so many layers and you need more info, but I tried to keep it short. Thanks so much. Love you all. Anonymous please. P.S. josh, please let Ben continue his euphaginaid outfire impressions that the pets.
Josh
No, they're not. No, they are. They are.
Ben
Oh, your tea. Sugar in your tea. You can't be friends with somebody who drowns cats. You should report him and he should be in jail. When I read this, my stomach sank. I almost didn't read it, but I wanted to talk about the severity of this. I really did. I this, it was one of the worst things I've ever read and I'm so sorry. We should put a trigger warning on the episode. It's not, it is, it is horrible. Horrible. If you want, take that cat, bring it to aspca. You know what I mean? I've never, I, I, I could not f. I mean, I couldn't believe it when I read it. And you need to. This man needs help. He should be in jail.
Josh
I think you're just saying that because cats are cute.
Ben
I think cats are so unbelievably not cute. I hate cats. And I'm saying that I'm the opposite of a cat person. I was five years old, the cat scratched my arm. I never forgot it. Fricking bastard. No, just like there's Kobe or LeBron, there's cats or dogs. I'm a dog lover and a big cat lover. These little cats and me, we never got along. That said, drowning a cat, you should be in jail.
Josh
I don't know the particulars, but let me pose this question for you because we're talking about country rules, right? We're not talking about city rules.
Ben
Yes.
Josh
Okay, here's an example. Wild boars. Wild pigs are an invasive species in North America routinely. Even coyotes, routinely. Farmers will bring somebody in with a rifle and a scope and literally will just start popping them off. Sometimes they come in on helicopters. That's a little much, but. And literally giant, beautiful boars. Giant animals. And they're an invasive species. They're messing up the ecosystem. They're eating, they're hurting other animals. It makes it so. It's throwing off the entire ecology. It's throwing off everything in that area.
Ben
Yes, that.
Josh
Ok.
Ben
I think that I would have reacted differently if this guy had shot the cat.
Josh
Ok.
Ben
I think that the pure act of drowning the cat is so medieval torture.
Josh
Oh, it's the worst.
Ben
That's not a way to. What you're describing. Like a predator. To which, by the way, the cat's stray. He's. Whatever. It's bad. Okay, Right. The cat shouldn't be there. No problem. Get rid of the cat, give the cat to. I think because ASPCA doesn't take boars. If they did, then you give them the boar. But let's say, okay, no problem. Shoot the cat, drown the cat.
Josh
No, totally. So you're not okay with the means in which he did it?
Ben
I'm not okay with the means in which he did it. And I just think that the difference is that we keep cats as pets.
Josh
Right.
Ben
So, number one, the way he did it, and number two, yes, there is absolutely a hierarchy in America. Does it make sense? No. Cats and dogs, cows, horses, all this stuff. And then, yeah, if you're wild, you absolutely take a backseat. No question. It's not right, but you take a backseat.
Josh
Like, I wonder though, if. If the ASPCA of a country ass town or city would even accept a feral cat. If they would even. They'd be like, it's feral. Like, this is a country cat. Like, what do you want us to do with it? No one's going to adopt it.
Ben
It's absolutely a great question. In my opinion. You give it, do your best, bring it to the aspca, and they should have a euthanization team. And like, I just.
Josh
I guess if they're. Yeah, okay. Sorry.
Ben
No, no, that's it. I just like.
Josh
Yeah, yeah, I agree. It's. I mean, it's. It's brutal. I couldn't ever live or deal with that. And who knows? But crazy.
Ben
Crazy. I couldn't believe it when I read it. So I had to share with you a good one, by the way. Very provocative. Very provocative.
Josh
Want to do what? Are you nuts?
Ben
Oh, perfect. Yes, we should absolutely do what are you nuts? Our what do you nuts? Moment of the week is our gripes with people, places and things both big and tall. Whatever is sticking in your craw, Josh. I have one. Okay. My what are you nuts? Is myself. I disgusted myself this morning and I've done it to myself in the past. I go out every morning to get my coffee. It's a part of my routine. Don't ever try and talk me out of it. You're not going to talk me out of it. I know people make coffee at home. I get it. You could save money. I get it. All these things, blah, blah, Blah, blah. I like paying for coffee. I like going to get coffee. It's a part of my routine now out here in the Hamptons, I drive my car every morning. Instead of walk, I drive my car to go get my cup of coffee. Sure, I picked up my mobile, order Starbucks. Of course. I get into my car and what do I have in the cup holder, Josh?
Josh
Coffee.
Ben
My empty coffee cup from yesterday with the remnants of the ice. It's like this full of water. And I just had a moment of reflection. I was like, ben, you are fucking disgusting. Like, this is disgusting behavior. What are you nuts? Like, I was so. I was like, ben, get your act together. There was an empty water bottle next to it, too. You know, maybe I'm being hard on myself, but I looked at myself and I was like, ben, this is no good. This is a dis.
Josh
This is disgusting that you left an old cup in the car.
Ben
It's not that I left an old cup in the car, Josh. It's that before you get a new coffee, you have to throw away the old coffee cup. Maybe you don't feel it, but it was one of your nuts to me.
Josh
I'm giving you some grace. I'm being easy on Ben.
Ben
I. I appreciate that. Okay.
Josh
My Woody nuts moment of the week is as I talked about, you know, we went to the beautiful Legoland, and what a time. Really, what an experience. But I, I, you know, sometimes, especially in a place like that, people will want to, you know, come up to me and, you know, maybe take a photo or whatever. And so somebody comes over and takes a photo of me. And they did the one thing which is the. I don't know who they were with. It was in. The guy was in his 20s, but they were with an older parent. And the parent just came, walked over, over and said, who are you? And I was like, ah. And he goes, I have no idea who you are. And I just looked at him, I said, I have no idea who you are.
Ben
That's great.
Josh
Yeah. And he goes, okay. And I could just. I was like, what are you nuts, Josh, Just leave this guy alone. Like, it's annoying, but I'm like, I can't. I can't help myself sometimes.
Ben
No, I'm happy that you said something. There's nothing worse. Don't make somebody expl. It's terrible.
Josh
I just wanted to take a photo in front of the Galactic coaster now at Legoland.
Ben
That's it. You know what, Josh? That's terrible. You know, it isn't terrible. This podcast, most of the time. True, it's five stars most of the time. Otherwise.
Josh
Oh, and you can leave us more reviews if you want. Like reviews and 5 stars, but nothing less than 5 stars. Otherwise, take a hike.
Ben
Yeah. By the way, we used to say rate, review and subscribe. Ok, we used to. Do we still say it? We do sometimes. Jimmy had us cut it. No, Jimmy had a strimit.
Josh
Yeah, Mr.
Ben

Hosts: Josh Peck & Ben Soffer (Dear Media)
In this lively episode packed with personal stories, playful banter, and candid confessions, Josh and Ben dive into the realities of aging parents, health anxieties, diet obsessions, family quirks, and the little indignities (and delights) of daily life. Genuine, irreverent, and often unfiltered, the discussion draws humor from awkward moments and finds depth in reflections on family and self-care. Listeners are treated to a rare mix of laugh-out-loud storytelling and honest vulnerability.
The episode brims with honesty, dark and wry humor, and affectionate ribbing both of themselves and the people in their lives. The language is casual, sometimes irreverent, often introspective, always sharp-witted, balancing gravity with silliness.
“Tall, Thin, and What a Handshake” is a quintessential Good Guys installment—equal parts heartfelt and hilarious. It blends confessions about aging parents and the angst of adult responsibilities with delightful tangents on food, fashion, and family awkwardness. The hosts are refreshing in their candor, never afraid to go dark if it’s true (and funny), and always returning to their core: supporting family, finding joy in life’s imperfect moments, and never turning down a good dessert.
