Welcome back to the Green Industry Podcast. I'm Paul Jameson down here in beautiful, hot, sunny Florida, where it is sunny and it is hot. Well, today on the program I want to share with you behind the scenes of my travel plans and itinerary and goals for the upcoming big week of the year in Louisville, Kentucky for the LCR Summit Louisville and the Equip Expo, all happening in one week in Louisville, Kentucky. Now, as I get older in life and get more passionate about playing golf in my free time, traveling is just something that I try to avoid at all cost. And there's many reasons for that. I've traveled quite a bit in the last 20 years. Actually, no, in the last 10 years. Pardon me. I've traveled a substantial amount of times and so I've seen a lot of hotel rooms, a lot of airplanes, a lot of hustle and bustle and I kind of got to the point where I was like, you know what? I like my own bed. Although I need to, I need to get a new bed when I it's a whole another story for another day. But when I I moved recently, I had sold my old bed, I got a new bed and this one, this new one I got very disappointing for for anyway, I gotta upgrade my bed. So when I say sleep in my own bed I my point is I just like being home. So I have said no to an outrageous amount of travel opportunities. However, there's one trip a year that is on my calendar and I look forward to it. Other than sometimes it's cold up in Louisville, but I try to make the most of every day on this trip. And so without further ado, I want to kind of Preview for year 2026. If you're listening to this in 2027 or 2028, skip on to the next podcast because this is, this is very time sensitive episode. But I do want to talk about October 2026 in Louisville, Kentucky and the wonderful opportunities there. So on Monday and Tuesday, I've been invited to be a speaker and a, like a guest panelist and be heavily involved in Naylor Taliaferro's event called the LCR Summit. And this is an event where there's a VIP dinner for the early movers who want to have dinner with all the speakers and Naylor and I at a very nice restaurant. You get steak and it's, it's fancy schmancy. You'll probably gain like 5 pounds. But at this event, Jason Krill is going to be there this year, who is just one of my heroes in business. He's happily married to Tracy, four children, successful businesses. He's built and sold multiple businesses. And he, he runs a solo operator business where it's just him spraying fertilizer in Alabama. And then Eric Triplett's going to be there, who's a contractor who specializes in sales training. And he runs a larger, you know, million dollar plus construction business. And John Pajac's there, who's just always fun to hang around and be around. And he specializes in what's called budgets, break evens and bottom lines. And so he's going to be speaking all about numbers. I'm going to be there talking about content creation. So how do you actually create content that converts? Like I could care. Well, let me put it like this. When you go to the bank, you know those little bank deposit slips, there's not a category on the bank deposit slip for views. You can't go to the bank and then, hey, I got 10,000 views on my post from yesterday. And somehow, like, that doesn't mean anything. The bank teller is going to say, you know, do you want a cookie? Publix is next door. You actually go to the deli and get a free cookie. Just tell them your kids and you, there's a little sign that says like 12 and under. You get a free cookie at our grocery store down here in Florida. But what I'm going to teach about is how to actually create content that converts into real customers. How do you get better quality leads, like understanding who your ideal customer is, but how do you actually attract them like a magnet on Facebook and instagram to where your ideal customers are coming your way, chasing you down, banging on your door, wanting to do business with you. And how do you, I mean, really make better content? I'm going to be covering all that. Naylor's going to be teaching on marketing, networking, time management. He, he does multiple sessions on his, on his board thing. He has, he has a fancy board that's more sophisticated than I, you know, it's, it's, it's awesome. So, and then we'll have panels with all the speakers and there's a mystery speaker. I can't tell you who it is, but it's a, it's a big deal. He's got, he's got someone else coming as well. So anyway, this event is the Monday and Tuesday of Equip Expo, which would be October 19th and then October 20th. And so after the event ends on October 20th, or I guess you'd say October 20th if you're proper English. I'm, I, I, I, I went golfing this morning. In the, in the heat, we hear Florida. So if I, my sentences aren't exactly connecting. It was a hundred degrees out there today and I am sipping. Actually, let me take a sip of water so I can speak. Ice cold water. Very, very good. So anyway, as I was saying, on Monday and Tuesday is LCR Summit, and then Tuesday, when it gets over with, in the early evening right after that, the Equip Expo literally kicks off, you know, less than an hour after the LCR Summit ends. And that's over at the Kentucky Derby venue, Churchill Downs. They got free food, good food, and you can go out there on the horse track around the final corner there where the, you know, the Kentucky Derby comes down to the photo finish, which if you've been following the Kentucky Derby, I believe this past year there was a photo finish. I didn't actually watch it or go, but I think I saw somewhere where it was like really, really close. The guy came back and won at the end or something like that. But anyway, that actual track where they race and that actual, like where all the fancy people wear their fancy outfits and their fancy hats and like the, the, that like specialty room where all of the rich and famous hang out at the Kentucky Derby, we rent that out. The Equip Expo rents that out for us to mingle and enjoy Tuesday evening, which will be October 20th, which is basically the big grand kickoff event for Equip Expo. So we're going to hear a quick word from today's show sponsor. And coming up, I'm going to I'm going to preview what to expect for the week at Equip Expo LCR Summit. And just some tips I've learned over the year. I went in 2017 for the first time and I can honestly say every year I still unfortunately make some mistakes travel wise. But every year they get less and less. And so we've comically all kind of cracked jokes about my big blunder. The first year of waiting to literally the week of equip to get my ticket, which was dumb because I paid full price and you don't have to do that. You can actually get your tickets today for 50% off with the promo code Paul and the early bird special so you can save double dipping on your savings so you're not paying full price at the door like I did my first year. And my mistake, even bigger than that one, which cost me quite a bit of money, was I waited to the last, well basically the week of equip to book a hotel. And all the good ones were taken up. Matt lamarche is like, I'm staying at the G House. I was like, I don't even know what that is, but it sounds fancy. And he's like, where are you staying? And anyway, I stayed at the Red Roof Inn by the Kentucky Airport. And it was on the wrong, you know, you know they say like on the wrong. What do they say? The wrong side of the tracks, Mr. Producer. Yeah, you want to go to that Red Roof. It was in the hood. It was hood. It was not pleasant. But my buddy Rusty was there who lives in Indiana, so he was, you know, he was packing heat. And then old pay Jack was down. He was, you know, from Chicagoland area. So I, I had guys who had their, you know, their trying to say stuff so I don't get censored in any way, shape or form, but you know what I'm saying, they, they had, I'm trying to think how to my terminology. It's, it's so hot out there, folks. But anyway, they were staying in the rooms right next to me. So I was like, if anything goes down, you know, they, they, they, they, they, they got, you know, they're gonna protect me because you know, well anyway, when you fly in, you can't. Anyway, let me, let me take a sip of this water folks. What I say is we had heat advisory today, 100 degrees and it's hot down here. And I'm, I'm like thinking I need to, I think I need to drink some water. So let me, let me hydrate myself. Hey, coming up. We'll talk about how to make the most of your experience at LCR Summit and equip Expo 2026.

You won't look back. All right, so quick recap. October 19th October 20, 2026 LCR Summit Louisville that's going to be classroom setting Deep teaching Eric Triplet teaching on sales Naylor going in on marketing, on time management on networking Me teaching on content creation, paychecks on budgets, break evens bottom lines the oh yeah, Jason Creole is going to be talking, talking about that, owning and operating a profitable solo business. So for those of you who maybe don't want to grow, you know, north of a million like triplet, and have all the stress of having all of the employees and all of that, Jason Creole can teach practical advice, creative strategies about how he runs his business where it's just him, but it's incredibly profitable and he has the time for his family. So anyway, LCR Summit is extremely transformational and it's, you're sitting in a classroom with your notebooks, which, with a bunch of other next level entrepreneurs who are trying to level up. And so that's Monday and Tuesday. Tuesday evening is the dinner at Churchill Downs where the Kentucky Derby is. And that's the kickoff to Equip Expo. And then the actual trade show Equip Expo happens on Wednesday, October 21, I believe. The opening keynote speech is at 11am and then as soon as that concludes at noon, they open the doors to the big Kentucky Exposition center. And it's like a herd of horses just coming out of the gate and it's just, it's a stampede as everyone rushes the hallways. It's, it's pretty cool moment. And then that goes on till 5pm on Wednesday. And then Cornell Mack Win at Life event will be at a bowling alley. I don't want to announce the name of the bowling alley in case I mess it up, but his event's been growing rapidly. So every year it gets bigger, it gets better. It gets just a lot of momentum behind Cornell Max event. So that's off site after hours Wednesday night. And that one's called Win at Life. So there's, there's social events on Tuesday night and, and even backing up before that, Mitchell Gordy does a big meetup on Tuesday at a place called Merle's Whiskey Kitchen, right downtown Louisville. He's been doing that for quite a while. When he started it, it was just kind of organic. Like a few guys got in town a little early and like, hey, let's grab a bite to eat. And then they're like, yeah, let's do that again next year. And then the group got bigger and then bigger and then bigger and it just keeps growing. At Merle's Whiskey Kitchen Tuesday afternoon again, that's Mitchell Gordy's event Tuesday afternoon. Then Tuesday evening off site is the dinner at Churchill Downs. And then Wednesday evening off site at the bowling alley is Cornell Max event. And there's, there's a lot to it. They do rock, paper, scissors events and Then they have prizes for like best dressed Lamont Hairston I believe won that last year. And they got, there's all kind of stuff going on in addition to, you know, folks just hanging out, having a good time. And then Thursday is the big day. So this is where we do our once a year live podcast, Mr. Producers there. I'm there. I'm going to be interviewing John Pak this year on the Thursday 22nd, October 22nd in that main room. That's room B103. When you get to the Kentucky Exposition Center, I mean it's hard to miss it. It's, it's the big ballroom. So we'll be doing a podcast there live. Naylor is going to be there as well as Caleb Allman and it's going to be a great time doing some live podcasting on Thursday morning that starts at 8am and runs till about 9:30. And then the Thursday is kind of like the main day. Got Equip Expo. So you got nine to five hours of the, the trade room show floor that's inside where there's approximately a thousand exhibitors all set up. So all your main manufacturers, if you want to check out battery equipment, you got Crest Commercial there. If you want to check out, you know, the latest and greatest from Toro and John Deere and Ex Mark and Kubota and, and steel and Husqvarna Red Max Echo, Vermeer, you know, Relco's there, formerly known as Kohler engines. And I'm not going to name all 1,000 but you know, jobbers there and you just go through like all the major manufacturers in our industry, they're there and typically what many of them do is they use this big hurrah of 30,000 landscapers in one, you know, city to typically unveil whatever their latest and greatest is. So a lot of times new equipment is unleashed and unveiled and teased and you can actually, you know, touch it, feel it, test drive it. There's outdoor demo area of about 30 acres. So like Vermeers out there, their booth last year was by far the best. They made it like a college game day theme and had a field goal and it was a lot of fun out there. I mean by far their booth, you know, my, my vote, they won booth of the year because I like football and I college football and I made the field goal. But that was a lot of fun out there. But I mean all, all, you know, all the brands pretty much have like, you know, your Toros and John Deere's and Crest Commercial had a Gigantic booth outside so you can actually go hands on, try this stuff out and see it in person. And, like, there's one thing to see it on the trade room show floor where it's all shiny and never been used. And, you know, I mean, it's nice, but it's another thing to go outside where it's dusty or muddy or, you know, real life and actually, you know, crank it up and give it a, Give it a, Give it a demo. So that's happening outside 9 to 5, Thursday, October 22nd. Again, I want to reiterate that the morning show is our big podcast of the year, where we actually do a live show. There's donuts there, coffee. It's. It's really good. And the catering is actually really good. So it's. It's not like, it's not like a stale gas station donut. It's. It's actually local, like, really good donuts and, and hot coffee and, and awesome waters. Waters are there as well. On, on Thursday, October 22, 2026. And then. Why. I don't say, unfortunately, but I. What happened is, and I was telling Naylor this off air that he needed, he needed to bring the rally to an end because there's, there's all kind of stuff behind the scenes I don't feel like I need to talk about on the podcast. But he does so much the week of Equip Expo. Okay. The man does his own event on the 19th and 20th called LCR Summit, which is. He's so skilled and gifted and, like, I think each of us, like, we have something we're good at. I was talking to a friend today and he's like, do you play any musical instruments? I was like, no. And I'm probably the worst singer you have ever heard, ever. Like, I was telling him that I. There was a. A singer instructor who, like, a teacher, like, teaches people how to sing. And so I was like, hey, you know, what do you think about how I sing? And they're like, do this do. I'm not even going to try it. But, like, they gave me, like a little thing, it's called, like, do me Do. I don't know. They're little things they said and they're like, now you try it. And I did it and I could see their face, like. Like, I was like, what? Why are they acting so amused by this? And then, like, tried to hold in their laughter and then he just busted out laughing and they were like, I'm so sorry. And they were apologizing. They were Laughing. But it was that bad that I made the singing instructor laugh. So I say all that to say, like, some of us have strengths in some areas and weaknesses in other areas. Now, thankfully, I can talk. Maybe today, if you're first time listening, you're like, you sure you can talk, buddy?

Welcome.

Well, most days I can. I think I need a. Need like another sip of water. I'm telling you, folks, 100 degrees and being outside all day, it was a hot one. But my point of saying all that is Naylor's skill in gifting and wheelhouse and in the zone. And what he's great at is networking and events. And so he actually hosts this world class event, LCR Summit, Louisville, on the 19th and 20th, Monday and Tuesday. And then on Thursday the 22nd, he hosts the morning show, which is for the last several years, it's been standing room only, jam packed, live podcast show that he's responsible for. And so he does all these events throughout the week. And so then he was doing, like, at the tail end of the week, he was doing this big rally, and it was changing venues every year for circumstances outside of his control. And I was just telling him, I was like, Naylor, you, you need to just relax. Like, let, let Mitchell do his event on Tuesday at Merle's and, and Cornell do his event Wednesday at Win It Life. And you don't need extra stress after already doing the biggest event of the year with the morning show, where there's like 600 people at your event in the morning. You don't need to be doing another event the same size in the evening. Like, that's two big events in one day. Just, just, just don't have them. Don't have the rally this year. Like, I was very stern as his friend. Like, I think you need to just, you know, let that go. You did it for 10 years with excellence and so many people enjoyed it. And we have to know there's a, there's old song, know when to hold them and know when to fold them. Like, when you're playing cards, you need to know when to hold them, when to fold them. And I was like, it's time to let it, you know, let it go. Because I felt like Cornell Mack, like, his event now is really got the DNA of what the rally on Thursday night used to be. So, long story short, I don't think Naylor's doing his event Thursday night this year. And if you see him at the show, well, number one, go to LCR Summit if you want to have transformation in your life and business. And number two, just say hey, thanks again for the last 10 years of serving the community with the event. And then participate in the events he is hosting, which is The Morning Show October 22, 8, 8am Bright and early in room B103 there at Louisville Kentucky Exposition Center. And then of course the LCR summit on October 19th through 20th. Well folks, I need to go hydrate. It's hot down here. And you can save on the LCR tickets and on the Equip Expo tickets. Now you have to purchase those separately. LCR has its own like registration forms and everything for for Naylor's event. And then separately the Equip Expo has their registration. But on both of your registration forms to get maximum savings there is a promotional code entry and just type in my name. That's it, P A U L and that will activate your best savings. So registrations are open for that. For lodging I would go on the actual Equip Expos website and click on the button there for like find a hotel because they actually team up with Louisville tourism so you'll find the best available and the best deals through their website. So I got mine taken care of. Now you know, I'm not waiting for multiple reasons but the more you wait the less the more risky it is because the good ones go. So you can get your hotel booked today. And then for those of you flying in, you might want to start looking at at flight costs and all of that and find out the best flights. If you're going to Naylor's event I would, I would probably recommend getting in on October 18th on the Sunday and then I know a lot of people leave Thursday after pull Thursday evening. A lot of people leave Friday. Now the show is open on Friday from 9am until 2pm but it's always lighter traffic on Friday because everyone's just kind of tired and a lot of people use Friday as a travel day. But it is, I mean the show is definitely open Friday from 9 to 2. It's just for those of us coming in on Sunday for Naylor's event, Monday and Tuesday, you know, Friday is usually a travel day for most people that I know. But if you, for whatever reason maybe you live, you know, within a few hour drive or whatever, you can have a full day on Friday as well. And there won't be much traffic, you know, like foot traffic. There ain't as many people there on Friday. So that's the lay of land links to register in today's show. Notes of course use promo code Paul for maximum savings. And I think we covered it all. Time to go get some ice water with lemon and get hydrated.
