Living Faith IX When Humans Act Like God James 4.11-17 God opposes the proud because pride causes us to act like God. Here are two subtle ways that we act like God. I. We may easily overlook these sins because they don’t seem as “bad” as other but why does James consider them to to be so evil? Going Deeper 1. What is the difference between calling someone out on their sin and sinfully judging them? What assumptions did you make the last time you judged someone sinfully? 3. Are you a planner? How much of your planning involves God? At what point in the planning does God enter the picture? 4. As you think about the best-laid plans that you had for your life, how many of them went as planned? How can you surrender your plans to God? 5. What is the “good” you ought to do in light of this message? How will you do it today?
Living Faith VIII Why Do We Fight So Much? James 4.1-10 Relational conflict hurts us far more than we might think. James gives some surprising thoughts on the reason and the remedy for conflict. I. James presents a dichotomy of two kinds of wisdom: counterfeit and Christ's wisdom. What is wisdom? How can we live in a way that portrays Christ's wisdom?
