When Jeremy Steele was a growing up, a woman at church told him God wanted him to become a pastor. From that moment on, he devoted his life to Christianity, eventually attending seminary, becoming a youth pastor, and spending 12 years working inside a megachurch system. In this episode, Jeremy shares the bizarre and harmful youth group culture he witnessed, including a game involving frozen spoons passed underneath teenagers’ clothes that he immediately shut down. He also opens up about the financial practices inside megachurches that deeply troubled him and the questions that slowly led him to reevaluate his beliefs. Now known online as “Skeptic Pastor,” Jeremy joins us to unpack and challenge some of Christianity’s most debated ideas, including hell, the rapture, and whether being gay is actually a sin. We also talk about curiosity, uncertainty, and creating space for people reexamining their faith without fear.-Jeremy’s Tiktok: https://www.tiktok.com/@skeptic.pastorJeremy’s Book: https://jeremy-steele.com/ritualsJeremy’s podcast: https://unbeliefpodcast.com/Jeremy’s linktree: https://jeremy-steele.com/links-Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/HealedishFollow for more: Jubilee’s TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@jubileedawns Jubilee’s IG: https://www.instagram.com/jubileedawns Healed-ish TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@healedishpodcast Healed-ish IG: https://www.instagram.com/healedishpodcast Apply To Share Your Story: https://forms.gle/23f8SPBX1VntsqUU8

Part 2 of 2Krys shares her experience attending Bethel School of Supernatural Ministry, where she and her brother were deeply involved in the community and on the worship team. What began as a calling eventually became something much more complicated. In this episode, she opens up about the moments that didn’t sit right, including being discouraged from speaking about racism and social issues, and navigating situations that were often downplayed or dismissed. During her third year, everything shifted as her mom battled stage 4 breast cancer. As Kry chose to step away to be by her side, she was made to feel like she was doing something wrong. After her mom passed away, she was met with silence from leadership. This is a conversation about grief, identity, boundaries, and what it looks like to walk away and rebuild your beliefs in a way that feels true to you.-Krystal’s Tiktok: https://www.tiktok.com/@thequeen.krysKrystal’s podcast: https://tr.ee/HhQtrD3IE0-Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/HealedishFollow for more: Jubilee’s TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@jubileedawns Jubilee’s IG: https://www.instagram.com/jubileedawns Healed-ish TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@healedishpodcast Healed-ish IG: https://www.instagram.com/healedishpodcast Apply To Share Your Story: https://forms.gle/23f8SPBX1VntsqUU8

Content warning: This episode includes discussion of domestic violence and sexual abuse.Bethany was raised in IBLP, the same belief system associated with the Duggars, where teachings like the “umbrella of authority” shaped her understanding of marriage and submission. As one of eleven children, she was expected to help raise her siblings and follow strict gender roles. When she met her ex-husband, their relationship quickly moved toward marriage under intense pressure from purity culture and family expectations. What followed was an abusive marriage marked by control, gaslighting, and betrayal. With the help of a therapist, Bethany began to recognize the reality of what she had experienced, including abuse that had been normalized in her upbringing. Today, she is no contact with her dad, many of her siblings have deconstructed, and she has built a safe and healthy life with her partner.-Bethany’s Tiktok: https://www.tiktok.com/@bethany_joyfulBethany’s IG: https://www.instagram.com/bethany_joy_fulBethany’s Poetry: https://www.instagram.com/this.is.not.a.train-Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/HealedishFollow for more: Jubilee’s TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@jubileedawns Jubilee’s IG: https://www.instagram.com/jubileedawns Healed-ish TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@healedishpodcast Healed-ish IG: https://www.instagram.com/healedishpodcast Apply To Share Your Story: https://forms.gle/23f8SPBX1VntsqUU8

Over time, this escalated into physical abuse, including suffocation and injury, all under the guise of helping her.Mia eventually told a friend and reported him, beginning a long fight for justice. Her case was later covered by Rolling Stone. Today, she has built a safe and healthy life for herself. After everything she endured, she is now in a loving relationship and preparing to get married.
