200 episodes. I cannot believe it. It still feels like just yesterday that her style podcast began. I'm so grateful to you for joining me on your style journey. Today's episode is going to be jam packed with exciting news. I'm revealing the winners of last week's 200k giveaway, plus a very special invitation for you to team up with me on revamping your wardrobe for free, and a few fun facts you probably don't know about her style. Stick around because you definitely don't want to miss any of the details coming your way in this.

Welcome to her Style podcast where we're all about empowering you to show up and get dressed every day with confidence. I'm your host, Heather Riggs, a 15 year and counting certified image consultant and color specialist ready to build a wardrobe and a personal style you love. Let's get started.

I am so sorry for the delay getting this episode out to you. We're pretty much doing this one in real time today because we had to figure out our amazing giveaway winners over the weekend and I'm so excited to share that reveal. But first, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking the time to leave your reviews, sharing the show with your friends and family, and posting about it on social media. I have said this before. I'm a words of affirmation person and sometimes that feels like a really difficult love language to have because I try not to put too much stock in other people's opinions and I've definitely had to learn how to brush things off and not take negativity too personal. But seeing how her style podcast has impacted you and knowing that you're listening just fills me up. Like I can't even tell you. So I just want to say first that I appreciate your sweet words so very much and I want to thank you for taking the time to participate in the giveaway this past week. And you totally stepped up after Thursday's Q and A episode. We had a ton of additional entries come in in the last two days, so it was a fantastic turnout. And I'm also really blown away and humbled to report that we have officially crossed 200,000 downloads. And this is obviously our two episode as well. And all of this is because of you. Whether you are one of the winners of the three giveaway prizes or not. I'm offering everyone something truly special and exciting, so make sure you stick around for all the details, which I'm going to be talking about just a little bit later in today's Episode. Without further ado, let's reveal the names of our three winners. And I don't know what I was thinking doing this on the podcast because I apologize in advance if I mispronounce any of your names. I will be super embarrassed and feel really badly, but I'm going to try my best, so bear with me. All right, third prize. The winner of a 100e gift card to the store of your choice is our friend, Christine Snowden. Congratulations, love. I am so excited for you to get to do a little shopping on me this season. All right, second prize. The winner of the private 45 minute wardrobe strategy session with me is. Lauren Denise. I am so excited to meet with you live over on Zoom and help you solve your top style challenges. We are to have a lot of fun and it's going to be so good and you will be amazed at the impact we can make on your wardrobe in just 45 minutes together. So I cannot wait for that. All right, our grand prize, winner of a full scholarship to Her Style Collective. This is my 90 day group coaching program where I walk you through my full six step system to build a wardrobe you love is. Drumroll. Kimberly Matar. Oh, my goodness. We get to team up for three whole months together. I am so excited to get my eyes all over your wardrobe to help you with every single step of this process. Congratulations, my friend, and thank you again to everyone who jumped in and participated with the giveaway this past week. Ladies, keep an eye on your inbox today because you will be receiving some instructions to redeem your prizes so we can get started on all of this. And again, don't be too bummed out if you didn't win this time around because I do have something incredibly exciting for everyone and I'm going to be sharing all the details in just a bit towards the end of today's episode. First, I thought it might be fun to do something a little bit different for today's milestone episode. And I want to share a few fun facts that you probably don't know about her style. And of course, I'm only sharing this because this insight really does impact how I serve you through this show and of course, the offers and programs that I've put together for you. So I think it's important for you to know some of the behind the scenes and share some of what's really behind the heartbeat of her style. So first, let's start with how I came up with the name, her style and its significance. If you haven't put two and two Together. My initials are H E R. It's Heather Elizabeth Riggs. So that's the reason that her is in all caps. But that's pretty much the only relevance that the name has to me because everything that I do is centered on you, not me. That's why it's her style. It's really all about you in this process. And maybe you've noticed that I rarely include photos of myself or my style in my weekly emails or on my blog. I posted my first ever outfit of the Day photo inside Her Style Collective over the Thanksgiving weekend and I proved why I'm not an influencer or style blogger. Because it was not the best photo. My feet were cropped out, the lighting was really poor, and it was totally fine. Because I'm not aiming for perfection like I used to. And honestly, this is not about me at all. I only did that for fun because we were having a chat about what everyone was wearing for the holiday and we promised to post our outfit photos. But the fact is, in all of this, my style doesn't matter. I know we all have a natural curiosity to see what other people are wearing or buying, and so I will share some of those tidbits with you from time to time. But I am much more interested in helping you figure out what to wear and buy for you. And those decisions have nothing to do with me or my own style. It all comes down to your personal preferences, your goals, your budget, your lifestyle, and some simple design principles that anyone can learn. So I want you to know me. I want us to be friends. But I don't want this show to be about my style. It's about her style. And that's any woman who steps inside this community. There is something here for you. Now. Something else you might not know is that the number one value driving this business is personalization. That is the most important thing to me. And I come back to it with everything that I do and content that I create and offers that I put together. I do everything I possibly can to avoid giving you generic advice whenever possible. And sometimes that can be a deterrent for people because I think we all want the shortcut. We want things to be quick and easy. We want someone to just swoop in and tell us what to wear. And I think that's why so many of us enjoy following influencers and saving capsule wardrobe checklists and doing the computer generated color analysis quizzes online because they're all quick, easy and they give us an immediate answer. But what I found for both myself and working with lots of women over the years is that those quick and easy answers aren't always the right answers for us. It's kind of like going to the doctor and getting a prescription for your symptoms without ever addressing the root cause or getting to what it is. You might feel better fast, but you also might need to rely on those drugs for the rest of your life. You could end up with other symptoms from the side effects, and you're never actually healing the problem that's causing it all. And it's the same with your wardrobe, on a much less serious scale, of course. But if you never take the time to get to the root of your style preferences and to figure out what makes you feel your best and what is most flattering for you, and come up with a plan to thoughtfully curate a closet you love, you're going to keep relying on other people to tell you what to wear, and you might never truly feel satisfied with your wardrobe. You're not going to build that confidence that comes in putting your outfits together and picking clothes that bring out your best. You might feel like you're always wearing somebody else's wardrobe instead of developing your own unique sense of style. So that's why with everything that I do, even if I'm discussing trends or sharing what's on my shopping list for the season, I try to give you a few simple takeaways to help you personalize this information and make it work better for you. There are no hard and fast rules around here, but I do like to give you some simple strategies and guidelines to get to the root of what you want and need for yourself. So I hope that you'll do the extra work because it is so worth it to discover the actual right answers for you. And the last fun fact that you need to know about me, because it's another pillar of the work that I do at Her Style, is that I love to plan. My husband says that I like to plan to make a plan, and he laughs at me every Sunday night when I take out my paper planner and I plan for the week ahead. Because while it does help to make sure that I'm setting myself up for success. And I feel like there's something, something so calming about recording and highlighting my planned tasks and activities for the week and making it look pretty, it might save me some time to just do the thing instead of planning to do the thing. But I figured out a way to put my planning to use, and that has become one of the other core things that I really try to instill in you and in My clients. A wardrobe you love isn't going to magically happen on its own. You have to plan for it. You need to be strategic. This was my biggest downfall in my 20s. I shopped impulsively. I spent money frivolously. And even though I always had a ton of clothes and shoes and accessories and I had a lot of really nice pieces, I always struggled with what to wear. I felt like I never had enough because I wasn't buying the things that I truly needed. I wasn't buying things that were practical or that were versatile. And I learned the hard way that what I was doing, even as a trained image consultant and color specialist at the time, was not working. In the summer of 2012, I put myself on a shopping freeze, and I committed to only wearing items that I already owned for a little over three months. And that experience changed everything for me. I became inspired to remix my pieces in new and more interesting ways. I was able to see what I actually needed to round out my wardrobe. And I had probably the most important thing, which was some breathing room from my impulse buying. And what I realized during that time was that I actually regretted a lot of what I had picked up over the years, and also that I didn't know need as much as I thought. So that was the first step in transforming the way that I thought about building a wardrobe. And the next big revelation came many years later when I read the book the Ruthless Elimination of Hurry by John Mark Comer. And I have a whole episode on my takeaways from that book, which I'll include in the show notes for you if you want to listen to that one. But it dawned on me that the reason we have a closet full of clothes and nothing to wear is because we often shop on impulse rather than with intention. So my goal is to empower you to become a more strategic shopper and a more creative stylist and confident stylist so that you can truly maximize what you own and what's in your budget. So if any of this sounds appealing to you, if you're listening to these deeper facts and intentions behind the Her Style brand and you're nodding your head like, yes, I want to build my wardrobe in a personalized way. I want to develop my style and stop trying to force myself into the trends or what other people are wearing, even if it doesn't feel right for me. And I want to do this with a clear plan and strategy so I can finally wake up and stand in front of a wardrobe that brings me joy and feels easy and right for me. Then I have something incredibly fun and exciting to share with you today. I want to invite you to come and hang out with me live for four days for free this January so we can do all of this together. I'm hosting my very first Wardrobe Revamp boot camp from January 6th through the 9th and I would love for you to join me. This is going to include more than four hours of freestyle training, including tips I've never shared anywhere before, even more prizes, Q and A time with me, an incredible private community where you can connect with other amazing women in the Her Style family and learn the exact steps to revamping your wardrobe in a personalized and intentional way. I'm going to help you learn how to dial in your signature style. We're going to be auditing your closet and shopping strategically. There's going to be replays available all week long, so don't worry about your schedule. But I do encourage you to attend live with me every night at 8pm Eastern Standard Time from the 6th through the 9th of January so you can win prizes, get your questions answered and have some time to implement what you learned throughout the week. We are going to be getting really hands on with this bootcamp training. We're going to cover your style foundations way beyond what we've been able to do here on the podcast. I'm going to give you the exact steps to effectively plan out your dream capsule and shop shopping list. And we're going to make sure that you're getting the most out of your existing wardrobe because I bet you need far less than you think you do. Plus, I'm hosting a live Q A session on Thursday night where we'll get to hang out together and solve your biggest challenges and questions from the week. I'm going to share the surprising secret to having great style and don't worry friend, you don't have to be born with it. I certainly wasn't. It is something that anyone can learn. I'm going to show you three simple design principles to create more flattering outfits, plus the most important one I've never shared until now, even with my existing clients. So Her Style Collective members, you're going to want to join this boot camp as well. We're also going to talk about an essential step most people mistakenly skip during their wardrobe revamps. I'm going to tell you four things you must do before your next shopping spree to help you save so much time and money. And of course, I'm going to share all new tips to style what you already own in better ways and so much more friend. This event is going to be so much fun.
