A
Welcome everyone to I gotta say, by far my favorite episode of the year.
C
I mean these Checking every window to see if I can get out of it. Checking the door, jingling at the door. Oh my God, oh my God, oh my God, oh my God.
D
Will we say merry Clipmas for this?
A
Merry Clipmas. Clip Clipmas.
D
Clipmas.
C
Get me out of Merry Clitmas. Come on guys.
A
I will say these are just such a joy for me to put together every. It's way more work than I put into any every other episode. And by every year I mean this is the second year that I'm doing it. But this being the second year that we have done this clip miss show our out of context clip bracket. I've instituted some new rules. The last year when we did it, it was the Wild West. It was any episode of hey Roberto Vertel that we've ever done. We could pull clips from.
D
Sure.
A
But I thought to make it a little more, I don't know, more into like a yearly review thing, we were only going to do clips that happened in 2025. So next year for all those listening who want to submit clips, you can always submit our Discord in the out of context clips channel. But if you want to submit, make sure that the clip is coming from like, I don't know, December 2025 to November 2026 basically.
C
Well then JBC, this is fine because then you couldn't have possibly gotten good clips. Because I knew to expect this this year. You know what I mean? I've been really careful about what I've said to make sure nothing could be taken out of context.
D
Oh, same. I've like, I need my beef. I must have my beef, right? Because I know if I say it even during like, you know, the warmups, I'll be ruined.
C
Or stuff like where's my vagina? Like I'd Be saying stuff like that. If I knew that this clip show didn't exist.
D
My wife's a pot pie.
A
You guys were living in a reality where you knew the clip show was something that could happen. And here's what I'll say. You guys were very careful this year. Several of the clips and Casey helped me pull a lot of clips. When I said, like, Casey clipped that in the middle of an episode. Several of the clips were times where you guys would say something outrageous and then say, casey, please don't clip that. But the problem is I could easily clip out the part where you ask Casey not to clip it. So you guys got better at it, but not good enough to not say the thing that I was eventually going to clip. Karen.
D
Yeah, we have to kill Casey.
C
Yeah, that's true. And long time coming.
D
We've been sitting on that. I felt it in my bones.
C
JPC. Well, what if for 2026, next year's clip show, what if we catch it in the moment and we say, don't clip that? Then that's defense and you can't clip it. But if we don't catch it, you can use it.
A
Aaron, I will tell you. Why don't I let Aaron. Actually, why don't I let Aaron answer that question? Hold on. Fuck.
D
I have.
A
Oh, God. The only one that I have is from this year and I can't play it yet. So just. Aaron, can you pretend like you asked the opposite question? Let's just say you asked the opposite question to which I will answer.
D
Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes. Ooh.
A
Okay, I have some runners up, and that's one of them of some, like, general clips that I made this year that didn't make the bracket. But I will probably find some use for it. I've got the ADOL. Yes, yes, yes. I've got ADDLs.
D
What are you telling your mother? We ate the pie. Which was.
A
I could have clipped that from any episode. Honestly, this year, Aaron, I have this. A classic from you.
C
I'm Boston trash. It's in my blood.
A
I mean, absolutely can't wait to use that one in the future. Wow. And then, Aaron, this one that. It didn't make the clip show this year, but I think will come in handy in future episodes of Havert or Vertical this year, which is.
C
How about. That's the last blowjob scene we ever do.
A
So I. And I definitely think I'm gonna be getting some miles.
C
I stand by that for sure. Standing by that. That I believe. Perfect.
A
Aaron, can I also give you My favorite runner up that didn't make the bracket. What?
C
Jpc. I care about you a lot and you matter to me. I want to do better for you every day. That's AI.
D
That's AI.
C
We said that's AI in unison.
D
Or it's clipped together from, I don't know, 100 different episodes where Aaron just said part of those syllables.
C
Yeah.
A
No way.
C
No way.
D
I love jpc and I would love to have him as my best friend. I love.
A
I can just anytime I want to. I could just play jpc.
C
I care about you a lot and you matter to me. I want to do better for you.
A
Every day and that's just something that I get now. That's just for me.
C
Why did you cut out the psych? I did at the end of that.
D
And the swift kick in the nuts.
C
Adult jpc. So sorry. Sorry to come to you in a panic. I have literally one minute to get a last minute gift for a loved one in my life. I don't know what to do. Panicking. I could make something out of trash. No, that's nothing. What do I do?
A

C
Ooh.
A
Why don't you slap me? Slapped. Adol. Well, that's what we were doing when Aaron merged in here. We were?
C
Oh, we were playing sightbacks.

For you this year we're going to have ADOL voting on your clips and you are going to be voting on Adol's clips for you. Aaron. I have 16 clips in a bracket and I have done the seating for the bracket and I don't think last year I did seating. I think it was kind of just random and I spent a lot of time and intentionality with the seating this year. So I am.
C
Thank you for putting in all this work.
D
I'm very excited about this seating because you don't know who you want to sit next to each other and you.
A
Know, that's so true.
D
Make a table of college friends, but.
A
All right, so these are Aaron's clips. Adel, are you ready?
D
I'm ready.
A
Okay, so first up, we have.
C
Last night I called myself the dumbest bitch in school versus Flush me down the death toilet. Flush me down the death toilet.
A
What are we thinking? Dumbest bitch at school versus flush me down the death toilet.
C
Can you play them again?
A
Yeah, of course.
C
Last night I called myself the dumbest bitch in school. Flush me down the death toilet. Flush me down the death toilet.
D
Now this is tough. I will admit I think I like the energy of the second one, but I think the phrase last night I the first one almost sounds like a country song lyric. Yeah, last night I called myself the dumbest bitch in school. Like that is. I feel like that is such a musical line of dialogue. So I do feel like I have to go with Last night I called myself the dumbest bitch in school.
A
I think we're gonna ultimately get some more use out of dumbest bitch in school. Okay, here's your next one.
C
I'm the group slut versus if I take my dick out, will it explode? These is it. Are some of these not real? I'm a group slut. If I take my dick out, will it explode?
A
Are some of these not real, Aaron? No.
D
Now, if I take my dick out, will it explode? It almost sounds like a continuation of the song that starts with Last night I called myself the dumbest bitch in school. So it feels like we're almost composing lyric by Lyric A song.
A
Yeah.
D
Which I'm a little frightened of. Cause that'll rocket to the top of my favorite song list. So I think I'm gonna go with the Short and Sweet. What was the first one?
A
Grip Slut.
D
I think I'm gonna go with the Short and sweet. Group Slut. Would you play that one more time just for a little bit?
A
Yeah, of course I'll play it. We'll be hearing Slut for sure. Okay, so that was. I will say, the last night I.
C
Called myself the dumbest bitch in school.
A
That was my number one seed. So that's a good one. But Group slut was number nine, and it beat out dick explode, which is number eight. Okay, so now we're going on to the five seed versus the 12 seed.
C
Here's your five seed, Ave Maria.
D
Is that the Dune music?
A
It almost sounds like Ave Maria versus your number 12 seed.
C
Never been less horny.
D
Oh, I gotta go with that first one. That first one.
C
Oh, no.
D
That first one is so. I want that to be my new ringtone.
A
Yeah, it can be. Okay, here's your number 13 seed versus your number 4 seed. Your number 13 seed.
C
I want to make out with a.
A
Rough wall versus your number four seed.
C
Did the monkeys pay attention? Did the monkeys pay attention? What is the context of that, Aaron?
A
We can't know. It's all out of context. What do we think here? Make out with a rough wall versus.
D
Monkeys pay attention to Help me decide. Can I have some Dune music, please? Yeah. I gotta go with the monkeys.
A
Yeah, Monkeys pay attention. That was the four seed. That was the obvious favorite. A little bit of a Freudian slip there. Because we have our three seed fart stand versus our four table seed.
C
His anus and his balls exploded, sir.
D
A lot of exploding genitalia again.
C
That is fart sound versus his anus and his balls exploded, sir.
D
Gotta go with fart sound.
A
Yeah. Fart sound is a classic. That's why it was the three seed. It was gonna be hard to beat. Okay, this is your 11 seed versus your six seed.
C
I'm gonna kill you. Scary. Versus ew.
D
Wait, was that Aaron just doing that now?
C
I'm gonna kill you.
A
I love the laugh at the end.
C
Versus Ew.
D
Yeah. Kill you with a laugh Is the clear winner there.
A
I think that's obviously the clear winner. I still think I'm gonna get a lot of mileage out of this year. Okay, here's one. This is kind of a throwback to one that we had on the list last year. This is 7 versus 10.
C
As someone who's having no sex.
A
Versus.
C
I don't have a soundboard. Oh, my God.
A
Now, I will get some usage out of both of these this year, but only one can win.
D
I'm gonna go with soundboard.
A
Yeah, I don't have a soundboard. That was your 10 seed. That was your 10 seed versus your 7 seed. So the 10 seed. A little bit of an upset there. And then finally your 15 seed versus your 2 seed. Here we go.
C
What? It's just the water. I can just put my butt in.
A
Versus.
C
Oh, my God. Is your butthole not supposed to be freezing? Oh, no.
A
2 that kind of go together a little bit.
D
Yeah, that's. That is a. That's a tough.
C
What? It's just the water. I can just put my butt in. Oh, my God. Is your butthole not supposed to be freezing?
D
That's a tough couple to divorce.
A
Yeah. Put my. Put my butt in butthole.
D
Freezing hand in hand. I'm gonna go. I think just the. The mental image of someone having a freezing butthole and how uncomfortable that would be to walk, to sit, to live. I think we gotta go with freezing butthole.
C
And I don't believe I've said any of this.
A
Of course you haven't, Aaron. One, two, three, four. Hey, Riddle. Riddle's Clue crew. Listen to the rest of the episode now by starting your free seven day trial at patreon.com heyriddle riddle.

Hey Riddle Riddle – Patreon Preview #354: 2025 Out of Context Clip Brackets
Release Date: December 19, 2025
Hosts: Adal Rifai (A), Erin Keif (C), John Patrick Coan, aka JPC (D)
This special "Clipmas" episode of Hey Riddle Riddle is a playful year-in-review that celebrates the show's funniest, weirdest, and most out-of-context moments from 2025. Host Adal Rifai curates a bracket tournament of the year's best (and most baffling) audio clips, focusing exclusively on quotes from the team during the past year. Erin Keif and JPC judge the clips, often delivering riotous commentary and meta-reflection on their own absurdity.
The episode exudes Hey Riddle Riddle’s signature blend of improv, meta-jokes, and gleeful self-roasting. It’s a festive, self-aware ride through the chaos that defined their recent episodes.
Adal shares some favorite unused or “runner up” audio gems:
Adal unveils the main event: a 16-clip single-elimination tournament, with Adal and Erin (for this round) voting on the best out-of-context Erin moments (09:56). JPC notes the brackets are more thoughtfully “seeded” this year, not random (09:56–10:16).
Hilarious quotes are played side-by-side and debated, including:
Round 1 Highlights:
"Last night I called myself the dumbest bitch in school" vs. "Flush me down the death toilet."
→ “I think we’re going to ultimately get some more use out of ‘dumbest bitch in school’.” – Adal (11:08)
"I'm the group slut" vs. "If I take my dick out, will it explode?"
→ “I think I’m going to go with the Short and sweet. Group slut.” – JPC (11:54)
"Ave Maria" (as a sung phrase) vs. "Never been less horny."
→ The dramatic “Ave Maria” wins for its ringtone potential (12:31–12:38).
"I want to make out with a rough wall" vs. "Did the monkeys pay attention?"
→ “Gotta go with the monkeys.” (13:06–13:17)
"Fart sound" vs. "His anus and his balls exploded, sir."
→ “Gotta go with fart sound.” (13:42)
"I'm gonna kill you [scary, with laughter]" vs. "Ew."
→ The menacing yet gleeful threat moves on (14:12–14:16).
"As someone who's having no sex" vs. "I don’t have a soundboard. Oh my God."
→ “I'm going with soundboard.” – JPC (14:41)
"What? It’s just the water. I can just put my butt in." vs. "Oh my God. Is your butthole not supposed to be freezing?" → “...the mental image of someone having a freezing butthole...I think we gotta go with freezing butthole.” (15:04–15:16)
Erin, mock-defensively: “And I don’t believe I’ve said any of this.” (15:28)
Throughout, the group cracks up at their own absurdity, often breaking character to marvel at the nonsense they generate:
| Timestamp | Speaker | Quote | |------------|---------|-------| | 00:48 | D/JPC | "Will we say merry Clipmas for this?" | | 01:47 | C/Erin | "Because I knew to expect this this year. ... I've been really careful about what I've said to make sure nothing could be taken out of context." | | 02:20 | A/Adal | "You guys got better at it, but not good enough to not say the thing that I was eventually going to clip." | | 03:56 | C/Erin | "I'm Boston trash. It's in my blood." | | 04:13 | C/Erin | "How about. That's the last blowjob scene we ever do." | | 04:30 | C/Erin | "Jpc. I care about you a lot and you matter to me. I want to do better for you every day. That's AI." | | 10:05 | D/JPC | "I'm very excited about this seating because you don't know who you want to sit next to each other..." | | 11:08 | A/Adal | "I think we're gonna ultimately get some more use out of dumbest bitch in school." | | 12:58 | A/Adal, C/Erin | "What is the context of that, Erin?" / "We can't know. It's all out of context." | | 13:16 | D/JPC | "Yeah, Monkeys pay attention. That was the four seed. That was the obvious favorite." | | 14:16 | D/JPC | "Yeah. Kill you with a laugh Is the clear winner there." | | 15:16 | D/JPC | "...the mental image of someone having a freezing butthole...I think we gotta go with freezing butthole." | | 15:28 | C/Erin | "And I don't believe I've said any of this." |
The hosts maintain their trademark blend of irreverence, affection, and improvisational comedy. The bracket format maximizes their playful competitiveness and self-parody, while also inviting the audience further into their evolving mythology of in-jokes and recurring themes.
As always, Hey Riddle Riddle is "barely about riddles;" instead, it’s about the comedic gold that happens when improvisers let their minds and mouths wander—and then ruthlessly clip each other’s outbursts for festive, annual scrutiny.
This episode is a perfect gateway into the show’s style, and a treat for longtime fans who will recognize and delight in the allusions and callbacks woven throughout the tournament.
