Okay, I have a hint for you guys as to what we are doing today. Do you guys wanna hear the hint?
C
I'm ready. Yes.
B
Okay, here's your hint. Do you guys know what we're doing today? What we're doing today?
C
I guessed it.
B
What we're doing today?
C
Like I said before we even recorded, I said I was gonna name that tune today.
D
Aaron, give me a second, okay?
B
Yes, Aaron. But who is the artist?
C
This is the episode that always makes me have to lay down after it. Cause it sends me into such a tizzy. I get so wor up for these. Okay.
D
Such a dizzy Thin Lizzy boys are back in town.
C
Lou, cancel my afternoon appointments. Lou, just do it. Are you.
B
You're a baby. You pay me to sit here and look pretty.
C
Oh, whatever.
D
Lou, are you coming?
B
Rah Ro
C
Baha Men.
B
Christian Raider. Louis Dated.
E
Christian Slayer.
D
Christian Raider. Oh, Christian Slater.
B
Christian Ritter. Christian. Christian Ritter.
C
Is this how we play the game now? You just do it in a dog voice. I have to get it.
B
I'm gonna do a dog voice. You guys have to say which celebrity you think I'm saying. River Me.
D
River Roaner of a Rolling Heart.
C
I'm very excited to be playing this again. It's been a minute since we've done it.
B
It's been a minute now. The last time we played this game, I was going with 2000s music. It became quickly apparent in the 2000s music that Aaron was maybe not even alive at all in that decade. Now, Aaron, I thought that was a decade that you lived through, but I think you just. You kind of coasted through it in a way.
C
I was a child.
D
But surely you saw an ipod shuffle commercial.
C
I saw. I remember Feist singing 1234. And that's sort of the only memory I have of music in the last 40 years.
D
Peter, Bjorn and John with whatever song they had. Remember? Remember.
C
No, that's someone else. What am I thinking of?
B
Creepy. That's the ship.
C
What's the whistling one that I'm thinking of?
B
What you were singing was the shiz.
D
What about the young folks?
C
Oh, no. What about the. Oh, no, it's.
B
Now, this is a separate game. Whatever you're doing, Aaron, is not the game that we're playing here.
C
What is the song that's in Darjeeling Limited?
B
You're losing it all to yourself.
C
What is the song in Darjeeling Limited?
B
This is two people touching a chessboard, moving the pieces erratically and hitting the time clock at the judge, being like, what am I supposed to do with this, Aaron?
D
I. This is a chess fact. It was curated by Mark Mothersball.
C
Oh, it's. Where do you go to my lovely is the song I was trying to think of, but that's not them either. What's.
A
What.
B
What is that The. Is that the song from Night at the Roxbury? Where do they go, my lovely? Where do they go?
C
Oh, You see, now we're already running into the problem that I run into. I don't know the lyrics.
B
It's. And I have great news for you, Aaron. That song's not even going to be a problem today because we're probably not doing it unless we are. I do not think that we are, because today we have a special lay on. Now, I've been doing a thing. I've been building this for the past two or three years now where I have a playlist that I put all of the songs that my kid likes. So when my kid expresses, like, an interest in a song, I add it to the playlist and then, you know, we're in the car, I'll shuffle that thing around. And it's gotten so big now that there's. It's eclectic, it's expansive. It's not, you know, there's not really like a genre to it. It's just. It's just music that my kid enjoys. So today we're gonna kind of dip into, like, what the kids are listening to, and we're gonna go with. We're gonna go with that playlist. That's the only, I guess, hint.
D
Grandma shark doo doo doo doo doo Grandma shark doo doo doo doo doo.
B
I will say now, the one thing the national. The one thing that you probably will not find on this playlist is like, I don't know what you would traditionally consider, like, kids music. I don't like that stuff. I can't stand that stuff. There's one song that my kid likes that I don't know where they heard it, but it's like, it's a song, an Elmo song, and it's the Elmo song. Sing. And it's like, sing, sing.
D
A song?
B
Yeah, and I have no problem with that song because it's a fine whatever song. It's just that it's sung by Elmo and I hate Elmo's voice.
D
Have you heard his version of no Diggity by Blackstreet?
B
I like the way you're working.
D
Play on, play on, play on, play on.
C
Jpc. You know what you should add to this playlist is songs from Sesame street sung by artists that have come in.
B
Yeah, I think that, that if, like, there was a version of that Elmo sing song that was not sung by Elmo, I think I'd have no problem with it. But I just don't, like. I don't want to hear a puppet sing a song. I want to hear. I want to hear an artist sing a song.
C
But like, some of my favorite songs ever are songs that real artists came in and sang. Like the Prince song is amazing on there. Celine Dion song is amazing.
B
Can I get. Can I get.
C
James Taylor has an amazing song.
B
Can I get Dua Lipa singing to sing a song song?
C
I'll call her, but I think she's on her honeymoon right now, so I don't know if she'll pick up.
E
Yeah.
C
Hey, guys. Can't talk long. A very crazy week. I've got about 60 seconds to hang out with you guys. I'm really on the go this time of the year.
B
Okay, we don't have to talk. I just want to kind of spend our minute hanging out, cuddling if everyone's cool with that.

Hey everybody, JPC here. You know, one thing I love about summer is how easy everything feels. The days are a little more relaxed and I find myself reaching for the same comfortable go anywhere pieces again and again. That is why I Love Quince. Quince's 100% European linen pants and shirts are breathable, easy to throw on, and the summer upgrade your rotation needs starting at just $34. I absolutely love their linen shirts. I wear my Quince linen shirts all summer long. They're light, they're breezy. It's the best feeling in the summertime. Plus, their tees are soft enough to live in all day, and the lightweight cotton sweaters are exactly what you want when the summer nights cool down. Everything at quince is priced 50 to 80% less than similar brands, and they work directly with ethical factories and cut out the middlemen. So you're paying for exceptional quality, not brand markup. And it's not just clothing. Quint's has home goods. They have sheets. They became a trusted favorite from everything from home to travel to every day. Plus, I played Peter Quince in Midsummer Night's Dream when I was in high school and maybe one time after that. I think I've been in it twice, so make your summer wardrobe easier. Go to quints.com riddle for free shipping on your order and 365 day returns. Now available in Canada too. That's Q-U-I-N-C-E.com riddle for free shipping and 365 day returns. Quince.com riddle actually guys, I've said Quince so much I'm now remembering I played Bottom of the Weaver. I did not play Peter Quince in Midsummer Night's Dream in high school and one other time after that, played Bottom the Weaver twice.
D
Two quick things.
B
Sure.
D
One, if you haven't seen Yoga Abba Gabba, I feel like Yoga Abba Gabba has some fantastic musical moments and guests. Like musical guests.
C
I know. I'm a naysayer, but that cannot be true. Is that true?
D
Yeah. Have you ever seen Yoga Abba Gabba?
B
I don't know what Yoga Abba Gabba is.
C
The weird, horrible puppet part.
D
It's a kids show, but they just have really kickass guests. And I feel like it's just done. I've seen maybe like 10, 12 episodes, but I've been really tickled by all of them. And really, I think it's really delightful. And then two, do we know how much it would cost to hire a kids. Not a kids choir, but a kid's singing group to do our own version of now that's what I call. Or Kidz Bop. That's what it's called.
B
Kidz Bop.
D
To do our own version of Kidz Bop. But we pick the songs, so maybe it's like disturbs get down with a sickness or like we pick the songs that kids have to sing.
B
Click, click, boom, boom.
D
And we don't change. We don't change the lyrics.
C
Speaking of, the national would give a billion dollars to your kids. Do the where have a way in. That would be haunting. That's haunting.
B
That's one of my other pet peeves. It's like, I hate when I'm like, listening to music or something and then you hear that it's like the radio edit version, and you're like, come on, man, get this shit out of here. So, yeah, traditional kids music doesn't really do it for me. Now, I will always probably have a soft spot for Raffi, but again, I don't want to listen to. I just don't want to listen to a bunch of Raffy. I'll give me one Raffy song.
C
You don't want to listen to famous communist Raffy. Raffy. He's a communist.
B
Raffi's a communist?
C
Yeah.
B
Okay. Famously good for Raffi.
D
Where's he from? Raffi. That last name sounds a little scary. A little.
B
A little iffy, if you raph my drift.
C
Isn't he Canadian?
B
Well, I think he might be Canadian.
D
As a proud American with a normal name, I think Raffi is a disgusting, terrible last name. Is he Canadian?
C
I think so. I'm not 100% sure.
D
I don't think I've heard a single Raffy song.
C
Oh, you have.
D
I need to read it.
C
Baby. Beluga in the deep blue sea.
D
Oh, I know that song.
C
Yeah.
B
To the water Panty penguin, Panty penguin, panty penguin.
C
I like peanut butter sandwich made with jam. One for me and one for David Amram. That one. Come on, guys. Let's go to a rappy concert.
D
I don't know if I've heard that song.
C
Yum yum, yum, yum, yum. Every time I make a peanut butter sandwich, I think.
B
But again, again, that's. That's not. That's not really the genre of music that we're going to be listening to today, or we're not actually going to be listening to anything today. I'm just going to be reading lyrics. You guys will be trying to guess it. Okay, Are you guys ready for your first one?
C
I'm scared and I'm ready and I'm upset and I'm worried and I'm. And here we are.
D
You're enjoying the army. I'm ready, I'm upset and I'm tired.
C
But I'm here, but I'm ready and I'm scared and. Are you gonna cut my hair?
B
More than you'd like, but less than you need. Here we go. I was five and he was six. We rode on horses.
D
Buzz Adol. This is Nancy Sinatra's. I was five and he was six. Yeah, he shot me down Bang bang.
B
This is bang bang. My baby shut me down. Now, technically, the song is by Cher. Oh, I feel like Nancy Sinatra is the. Is the version in Kill Bill. So you. I'm assuming that most. A lot of people, I think, know this song from Kill Bill. But this is not. I'm not doing either version because that's not the version that's on my playlist. But the version that I'm. Is on my playlist is all in. I believe it's in Mandarin, maybe Chinese. Chinese of some sort by an artist named Jim, because it is off of the despicable Me soundtrack, I believe.
D
Is it the minion singing it?
B
It's not minion singing it. It's this artist named Jim J or G E, M. All caps, Maybe even with periods in between. But it's a fantastic version of that song. But again, I don't speak the language, so I didn't want to read out the lyrics and the language I don't speak to a tune you haven't heard.
D
To amend my previous idea, how much would it cost to get a choir of minions to do sort of a. Now that's what I call minions.
B
Now that's what I call Minions.
C
I think they're unionized, so I think it would probably mean pretty many. I thought we were all going to do a round.

Release Date: July 3, 2026
Hosts: Adal Rifai, Erin Keif, John Patrick Coan (JPC)
Producer: Headgum
This special Patreon preview episode centers around a playful "Name That Tune" challenge, but with a twist: the song selections are drawn from a playlist curated by one host's child. The hosts discuss the nature of children's music, reminisce about formative pop culture musical moments, and debate what actually qualifies as "kids music." The tone is comedic, irreverent, and packed with improvisational banter (as always).
