On January 6, 1412, Jehannette de Romee, later known as Joan of Arc, was born.

Known as the "Maid of Orléans," Jehannette de Romee was a French peasant girl who became a French national heroine and saint. Born in Domrémy, Jehannette grew up with her tenant farmer father Jacques, mother Isabelle, and two brothers. There was not much historically noteworthy until the voices started at around twelve or thirteen. Initially, they urged her to be virtuous, live piously, and remain a devout Catholic. Jehannette believed the voices to be those of angels or Saints, and their direction became more specific and dangerous, culminating in military conquest and a fiery end. She claimed to have received later divine visions instructing her to support Charles VII and drive the English from France during the Hundred Years' War. At 17, she led French troops to a pivotal victory at Orléans, boosting French morale and paving the way for Charles's coronation. Captured by Burgundian forces, she was sold to the English, tried for heresy, and burned at the stake in 1431 at 19 years old. Her conviction was later annulled, and she was canonized as a saint by the Catholic Church in 1920.Here are four lessons from the life and fiery death of Joan of Arc:🔥Ignore the VoicesSome doctors believe that Joan of Arc had a seizure disorder, such as idiopathic partial epilepsy with auditory features or autosomal dominant lateral temporal epilepsy. Now, I don't know what that means, but it sounds bad. Literally and figuratively. For investors, the voices come from the unholy trinity of television, the Internet, and social media. And they are saying some really stupid stuff. Especially at the beginning of the year as pundits turn prognosticators and pretend that they can look inot the future with any degree of confidence. 🔥Leverage Support and Resources EffectivelyJoan rallied support from soldiers, nobles, and the French crown to achieve her goals. In investing, success often depends on leveraging the right resources—financial advisors, market research, and reliable tools. Building a network of support and utilizing available resources can enhance decision-making and outcomes.
