Hey everybody, it's John Holmberg from the morning Sickness talking to Shane Orlando from Orlando Auto Body. Now, Shane, I take great pride in saying I stand with someone when I tell a listener to go to their shop. I know why. You tell me what's different for a KUPD listener to go to Orlando Auto Body than anywhere else?
Ozzy Osbourne
Well, first of all, we've been in.
John Holmberg
The valley here for over 34 years. We do a quality job. We work for you, not the insurance companies.
Ozzy Osbourne
So we can work together to make.
John Holmberg
Sure your listeners are getting the customer service they deserve. If your car's been wrecked and you need that thing fixed the right way, get on over there now. Orlandoautobody.com you thought that was funny?
Ozzy Osbourne
You were laughing like a hyena when he said it.
John Holmberg
What the hell is wrong with you? Yeah, it's Ozzy day. Everybody's got 24 hours of mourning. I guess the morning fair. It's kind of like having when the pope dies, he just lays there and repose. You go around and hearing a lot of people emailing me or stories about Ozzy. One guy actually met him, said he met him in Italy. Emailed over, said, I was in Italy and I walked by a restaurant. I'm like, you've got to be kidding me. And wandered over and there he was, just having a coffee with some guy, totally left alone and said, are you Ozzy Osbourne? I sure am. Got an autograph, said hello, moved about his business. That would be pretty cool. That's a great story. Whether it's true or not, I don't know because the guy didn't like, back it up with photos or anything, but it's still pretty neat. So all your Aussie stories are coming through to me and I'm trying to get to as many as I can. Everybody's got one. And a lot of people have met Ozzy, which surprised me. That's a big thing. I figured we could play one of his interviews. I haven't heard his.
Ozzy Osbourne
Richard.
John Holmberg
I don't know if one is better than another. Again, if you were listening earlier, my greatest moment on the radio. I have now been doing this for almost 30 years, which. The first one's better. Okay. For almost 30 years. I have now 30 years behind the mic, buddy, and there has not been a better moment. I'd said, Quentin Tarantino's up there on the phone because he was so cool. Nicholas Cage was such an odd one. There's a few that stand out. Robert Duvall. We've had a lot of great people come in here and a lot of stuff. Nothing was better than sitting in a room with Ozzy Osbourne. The very first time I was with him and having an amazing conversation and joking around and had Toledo do his little bit, which we joke. And then it sounded like this machine was broken. The whole damn interview got ruined by a faulty recorder. And it is without question the best thing I've ever done on the radio that never was on the radio. But here's one we did have and a little tribute to Ozzy and say goodbye to the kids. This one, Toledo. Okay, get it on there. So, Ozzy Osbourne with us. This is back on the 17th of February 2010.
Ozzy Osbourne
Correct.
John Holmberg
There you go. It's Ozzy. Everybody talking to us back then, 15 years ago.
Ozzy Osbourne
Hey, you guys are on with Ozzy.
Sharon Osbourne
Okay, don't ask me so many crazy questions.
Ozzy Osbourne
We're supposed to ask you a question about going to the bathroom. Evidently you just went to the bathroom.
Sharon Osbourne
I go to the bathroom and talk to them.
Ozzy Osbourne
That's what we were saying. And the girl told us not to ask You. I'm like, what? Ozzy doesn't poop, do you? What? Nothing. Never mind. Ozzy, we're taping the interview, so it's okay for you to say stuff.
Sharon Osbourne
Okay, you then, my friend.
Ozzy Osbourne
See, that's what I'm talking about. How are you, by the way? It's been a while.
Sharon Osbourne
I'm fabulous. I mean, early in the morning, but it's all right. Good, you know, I'm good. It's good to wake up instead of come around these days.
Ozzy Osbourne
That's true. That's. That's a good point. Yeah. Because for a long, long time you were just coming, making it, huh? Yeah.
Sharon Osbourne
I mean, it got to the point I wasn't having problem with it anymore. I just thought, you know, give it, give it sobriety. No, no. I say to people and I, you know, I used to think that was fun, you know, getting. Waking up with my. My lips stuck to the side of the table.
Ozzy Osbourne
You know, that used to happen that I've been pretty drunk before. I've never been stuck to anything.
Sharon Osbourne
I mean, it's, it's. I mean, believe me, if I thought I could still enjoy myself in fun and accept what goes with it, you know, every day I'd start off in one drink, then it would be over, you know?
Ozzy Osbourne
Yeah. Yeah. So you're saying basically, if it wasn't for the after effects, the party was worth it.
Sharon Osbourne
Yeah, but I mean, I just got fed up with being that way, you know?
Ozzy Osbourne
Yeah, no idea.
Sharon Osbourne
I get fed up with being this way. I know exactly what I had to get back to that way.
Ozzy Osbourne
Yeah. What is the difference in your life besides Sabra? What is the thing you noticed that you were just. You were just basically missing out on being completely trashed all those years?
Sharon Osbourne
I don't know. It's just the way I feel about my. I mean, I don't know you've ever experienced this, but I'd come out around in the morning and I'd go, and Sharon would be there. We looked with the phone and you better start making calls. And I go. And as the day went on, I'd go, oh, no, I did that. And, oh, I can't remember. I mean, I mean, number one, I didn't believe that you actually had blackout drinkers, you know?
Ozzy Osbourne
Yeah.
Sharon Osbourne
Until Sharon filmed me one time and.
Ozzy Osbourne
I'm like, oh, you got a. You got the David Hasselhoff tape. You got that shown to you once. Ozzy on the ground eating a burger kind of thing.
Sharon Osbourne
Oh, I'm eating a burger. I was eating the Carpet most.
Ozzy Osbourne
Well that's not a bad video at all. It's Sharon's carpet. No, no Ozzy, being sober, does the bubble and squeak taste better? Does it walk the bubble and squeak? Do you like the bubble and squeak better sober or is it better drunk? Because I haven't the bubble and squeak. It's the Sunday dinner Brady always brags about. When he was in England they had bubble and squeak on Sundays. It's just all the leftovers.
Sharon Osbourne
Bubble and squeak was months and it was Bubble and squeak was leftovers from Sunday fried up on Monday.
Ozzy Osbourne
Yeah, it sounds disgusting. I'd say you have to be drunk to enjoy that.
Sharon Osbourne
It's alright. It's better than eating carpets.
Ozzy Osbourne
That'S a fact. There's no doubt about that. Now you're coming now where are you right now? You're not in Phoenix, but you'll be here later this week?
Sharon Osbourne
Yeah, I'm in Los Angeles, my house.
Ozzy Osbourne
Oh, okay, you're in LA right now. Okay, is Sharon there? Does she nag you when you're on the phone or do you have your own little private area?
Sharon Osbourne
I got my own room. So I'll tell what they call my bunker.
Ozzy Osbourne
It's your bunker. No, what about, what about life with Sharon? Because we got a little insight on that for a year. What about life with Sharon? Are you like that? That she drives me nuts?
Sharon Osbourne
Oh, one thing that gets now I just go, Sharon goes to me gotta go out and she's always late every time. And I hate being late. I don't know about you but if it's 8 o', clock, I'm there at 5 to. She'll be there at 5 to 9. So I have to play games around. Another thing is you go what you want me to wear? And she goes, listen, how old are you? You got all that clothes in there, pick yourself something to wear. And I know if I go, whatever I put on, she's gonna go. You are joking. You're not gonna walk down.
John Holmberg
I want to go.
Sharon Osbourne
Well Sharon, why didn't you tell me what the to wear anyway? You know?
Ozzy Osbourne
Now do you have. I have to ask you this because every guy does this with his wife or girlfriend. Do you have a voice you use when you doing an impression of Sharon?
John Holmberg
No, you don't.
Ozzy Osbourne
You don't have a Sharon voice? No, cuz everyone, because my girlfriend. I always do that. You're always bothering me.
Sharon Osbourne
Sharon. Hang on, let me think. It's too early in the morning.
Ozzy Osbourne
It's 10 o', clock man.
Sharon Osbourne
Start making noises.
Ozzy Osbourne
Maybe you could Do John a little role play. Does she. Does she just stand outside? Aussie. Are you coming out? Eva? Is it a annoying like that?
Sharon Osbourne
It's five to eight. We gotta be there, you know. Oh, don't worry. I mean, she. She's just, you know, she's Right.
Ozzy Osbourne
Yeah. She's always late and all the stuff that you guys put each other through. I think she's got a little room to sleep in every once in a while, right?
Sharon Osbourne
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Ozzy Osbourne
All right. There you go. And you're gonna be here with your book. Tell me about your book. What about. This is a revelation. We've gotten to know you so well over the past decade.
Sharon Osbourne
You know, there's stories that you haven't heard in there, and there's. He stays calm. What I try to do is not have the serious, you know, the sex, the drugs, all that in there.
Ozzy Osbourne
Right.
Sharon Osbourne
But also there's some humor. Humor as well, you know, My zany sense of humor has helped me get out of so many situations. Getting through a lot of situations.
Ozzy Osbourne
Like, what's one that you can kind of give us a hint that you know.
Sharon Osbourne
I'm not gonna give you any hints.
Ozzy Osbourne
No cliffhangers, no Aussie cliffhangers, nothing. Ozzy, I can't read. How about your affinity for Asians? There you go. Is that in there?
Sharon Osbourne
For what?
Ozzy Osbourne
Asian women? That was. That was a rumor we read on Google that you had a thing for Asian women for a good long time.
Sharon Osbourne
My assistant.
Ozzy Osbourne
Your assistant? Oh, your assistant. Oh, okay. I said right there. I didn't understand. So that's coming and Saturday you're gonna be here. Do you like coming? What about Ozfest? You're bringing Ozfest back around? They did what?
Sharon Osbourne
This summer.
Ozzy Osbourne
Oh, it is this summer. It is gonna happen for sure. Absolutely.
Sharon Osbourne
Absolutely.
Ozzy Osbourne
All right. You wanna break the bands for us?
Sharon Osbourne
I can't give you any information. Let my son and my wife do that.
Ozzy Osbourne
Ozzy, just answer the questions. He said just. Look, Sharon, why don't you answer the young man's questions? Ozzy, he's trying to be kind.
Sharon Osbourne
You sound like a big head.
Podcast Host
There it is.
Ozzy Osbourne
That's the one I wanted. Perfect. Well, we're gonna give away passes. Ozzy. It's always a pleas and my pleasure. And we can't wait to see you again. And you're one of the most entertaining people on the planet. Will you please get back on my tv? There's nothing on.
Sharon Osbourne
All right. I mean. I mean, this reality thing. Now you know why there's so much reality. What's that it is so cheap to produce. You don't have to get, you know.
Ozzy Osbourne
Yeah, it costs nothing. What did. Now, what did you guys get paid individually for the Osbornes? I mean, obviously.
Sharon Osbourne
I mean, I don't talk business. My wife does all that.
Ozzy Osbourne
Oh, I'm not going to ask you how much you made. I'm just curious if it was an individual thing or just group.
Sharon Osbourne
Oh, you know what? I don't even know.
Ozzy Osbourne
Oh, really? Just. Yeah. So it went right through Sharon.
Sharon Osbourne
Yeah.
Ozzy Osbourne
Oh, beautiful. Well, yeah, that's it then. I've got all your money as well, Ozzy. There you go, Ozzy. It's a privilege. We can't wait to. To see you here. And this Saturday over there at the Changing Hands in Tempe, you're going to be signing books and patting people on the head and you're going to have a thousands and thousands standing out there again. Does it ever get old?
Sharon Osbourne
No. This book going, I love. I mean, I said, people keep saying to me, do you think you'll ever retire? Well, you know, if people didn't want to see me, I really seriously consider that, you know, but why should I quit now? You know, I tried retirement. It don't work, right?
Ozzy Osbourne
Yeah, it doesn't. It's no good. We don't want you to retire, Ozzy. We'll keep showing up.
Sharon Osbourne
All right.
Ozzy Osbourne
All right. You're the man. Thank you so much. And one last. Could you tell the whole city of Phoenix to off since we're taped? No.
John Holmberg
How about.
Ozzy Osbourne
All right, then. Then I'll scale it down. How about just my friend Brady?
Sharon Osbourne
What?
Ozzy Osbourne
How about just tell Brady to off?
Sharon Osbourne
All right, Brady, go yourself.
Ozzy Osbourne
That's what I like. There you go, Ozzy. You're the man. Thank you so much. We'll see you soon.
Sharon Osbourne
All right. God bless.
John Holmberg
Just flat fantastic. God bless at the end of that, which is fantastic, by the way. Toledo came in after hearing Ozzy mention that he's going to be a Changing Hands book club bookstore on Saturday. For those of you who just tuned in, unfortunately, he's not going to be there this Saturday. Just let you know. That was 15 years ago. That was cool. Ozzy was always really good to us, so. And again, I would never claim that I'm his friend. I would never claim that we were buddies. I would never.
Ozzy Osbourne
Come on.
John Holmberg
No. I'd never go out of my way to make that false claim. I do a job that somehow relates to him. And he was always gracious with time. And that's all I can say as a person. That I knew about him. He gave up his time when he didn't have to. That's a megastar. And I didn't, I don't think I realized it until yesterday when he died how big this is to to the world of entertainment. So to Ozzy, a tip of the cap. Amazing. And as always my friend, thanks for being part of our silly 25 years as well. A lot a bunch of them. It's 9:13. We got a rock horse coming off in a little bit. It's 98 Arizona's most powerful powerful rock radio.
