Alex
Hey, guys. Welcome back to Get Real with mi. We're back in the pink dream house, and I'm very excited for today's episode. You can grab a drink, grab a snack, grab your makeup. Let's get ready while we get real with some of my favorite people. And speaking of favorite people, we have a very special guest today. You may know her from TikTok, YouTube, vine, maybe from strutting down the Runway or maybe from one of her iconic Halloween costumes. Some may even say she's the queen of the Internet. Come in, Get real with me. Welcome quinlan blackwell.
Quinlan Blackwell
Y. Bro, I'm Lily. So ruined.
Alex
No, I'm not.
Quinlan Blackwell
Okay.
Alex
I'm sweating from that and going past the lily.
Quinlan Blackwell
Like, my scalp just started itching from that. Okay.
Alex
Welcome.
Quinlan Blackwell
Thank you for having me.
Alex
We're so happy to have you. We're struggling a little bit from Coachella still, babe.
Quinlan Blackwell
A little bit. I like it. I'm like,
Alex
no, no, no. It's gonna be great.
Quinlan Blackwell
I'm very excited. Thank you so much for having me on your show.
Alex
I'm so excited to have you here.
Quinlan Blackwell
I'm like, showing my boobs.
Alex
Yeah, let's the girls out. So we'll make sure we look good. And I always love to offer my guests a drink, period. So what's your drink of choice while you get ready?
Quinlan Blackwell
My drink of choice while I get ready is vodka.
Alex
Okay.
Quinlan Blackwell
Grey Goose.
Alex
Perfect. Grey Goose.
Quinlan Blackwell
Boom boom ba dum ba dum. Now she's gonna disappear in fairy dust and come.
Alex
Oh, oh, wait.
Quinlan Blackwell
She's magic.
Alex
Here we go. Y.
Quinlan Blackwell
And just so y' all know, it is 11. Do we talk to the audience or no?
Alex
Yeah. Yeah, we can talk to them. We can include them.
Quinlan Blackwell
Just so y' all know, It's a cool 11:30, 12 in the morning. In the morning.
Alex
Like, should we not drink?
Quinlan Blackwell
Maybe we could just, like, sip on a sip mark.
Alex
But yeah, we'll be like, oh, my
Quinlan Blackwell
gosh, keep it cute.
Alex
Look at these. Ooh, cute.
Quinlan Blackwell
I'm doing Olympics right now.
Alex
It's like orange juice.
Quinlan Blackwell
Whoa.
Alex
To wake us up.
Quinlan Blackwell
But no shots. What's your drink of choice?
Alex
Tequila.
Quinlan Blackwell
Yeah, tequila brings out, I think, the devil in me.
Alex
Really?
Quinlan Blackwell
And it's not a bad devil. It's just a devil. Like, I literally. If I drink tequila, like, all of my moral reasoning goes out the window. And I'm just trying to have fun.
Alex
I don't. Like, everyone is like, tequila or vodka. I don't think I'm a different drunk on either.
Quinlan Blackwell
Really?
Alex
I don't think so.
Quinlan Blackwell
Vodka. I can control her tequila. I'm literally not in control. I'm, like, in the passenger seat of my body and something else is driving me.
Alex
I don't know if you remember this when we met at the GQ party.
Quinlan Blackwell
Yes, babe.
Alex
Okay. I don't know.
Quinlan Blackwell
Yes, I remember. You were like, hi. I'm like, hi.
Alex
How are you? You were so fun. I've never seen anyone dance before at a party.
Quinlan Blackwell
Really?
Alex
No.
Quinlan Blackwell
No one near us, but, no, they don't. I literally turned it up real style,
Alex
but there was, like, a circle around you. It was crazy.
Quinlan Blackwell
It was insane. I literally felt like I was doing a flip in my soul, and I think it's because after I do something, like a hosting job. You were like, it's a feat. And after the feat is completed, I need to get lit. Like, I have to give myself a treat like a dog. And it was partying and dancing.
Alex
That was. It was great. I'm glad I missed. It was a great first impression. Okay, well, cheers, I guess. Let me just put this right here.
Quinlan Blackwell
Cheers to us.
Alex
Cheers to us being fabulous. And cheers to you being here. Like, I'm so excited for you. Do you know I'm a freak and, like, love your videos and, like, your vlogs. Do you know that? I enjoy so much. Well, thank you, Alec. It's so fun.
Quinlan Blackwell
I think you're so cool. I think everything you do is so sick.
Alex
Mm.
Quinlan Blackwell
Mm. Swear. Swear to God. I like your videos. Like, how you've progressed in your career. I think you've done it so gracefully, and you're just such a nice person. Like, I don't know anyone that has, like, a bad fucking Alex, like, every time someone talks about you, they speak about you like they love you.
Alex
What?
Quinlan Blackwell
Yeah.
Alex
Really?
Quinlan Blackwell
Thanks.
Alex
That's really sweet. It's great to hear.
Quinlan Blackwell
Yeah. You're loved by all. Oh, well, me too. I love you.
Alex
I'm so excited.
Quinlan Blackwell
This is so exciting.
Alex
Look at it. We're just such good people, right?
Quinlan Blackwell
Like, we're chilling. This is what girlhood is supposed to be.
Alex
This is the other shit. Getting ready together.
Quinlan Blackwell
No. Okay, so we're getting ready.
Alex
Yeah.
Quinlan Blackwell
I literally had someone come to visit last night.
Alex
Uh.
Quinlan Blackwell
Oh, I don't know. I don't know who she's from. You know when they come and they say that you forgot about me?
Alex
Nope. Just when you thought, well, you were at Coachella, so maybe, like, I feel like the dust this weekend is no good, but, like, you don't even need to get ready.
Quinlan Blackwell
Seriously, like, babe, neither do you. I saw you. I'm like, wait. Oh, cut.
Alex
In real life, actually, can you cry on command?
Quinlan Blackwell
No.
Alex
Really? I feel like you could.
Quinlan Blackwell
I can't. If you ever see me crying. If you ever see me crying any. Yeah. Can you?
Alex
No, I don't think so, but let's try. This is.
Quinlan Blackwell
I'm getting. Like, there's something.
Alex
Yeah, it's.
Quinlan Blackwell
I've water coming, but, like, it's not. There's no emotion behind it. So. So it's not gonna drop.
Alex
I was looking at you, and then it took me out of it. I was like, is she crying?
Quinlan Blackwell
I couldn't look at you or look at.
Alex
No, but hire us. We're really amazing. If you can drop us a. We can cry.
Quinlan Blackwell
We can cry.
Alex
Just give us a hug.
Quinlan Blackwell
If you can drop a tear on command, you need to be put on some sort of watch list. I don't trust your ass. My friends that are dating actors, I'm like,
Alex
that's why I'm afraid to date an actor. Cause I'm like, I'm afraid. What are you hiding? What do you know? Let's start getting ready while we speak as well.
Quinlan Blackwell
Okay. Okay.
Alex
Before I forget, do you do anything like skin prep before? Do you makeup or. No?
Quinlan Blackwell
No, but do you have some moisturizer I can use?
Alex
There we go. This is do more from real actives. I love using this under my makeup. And sits nicely, gives you a nice little glow, hydrates all the things.
Quinlan Blackwell
Do you feel like you're a master manifestor? Do you, babe? Yes. Yes.
Alex
But I think it's be. It's part delusion.
Quinlan Blackwell
But, like, no, because I also.
Alex
I think I'm a witch. Yes. Have you ever been to a witch store?
Quinlan Blackwell
Yes.
Alex
In New York?
Quinlan Blackwell
No.
Alex
I went to this one, the oldest witch store in New York.
Quinlan Blackwell
We need to go. Take me, take me, take me. I think I'm a witch, too.
Alex
And that's Bella Whales.
Quinlan Blackwell
I think I'm a witch, too. I go to the witch store. I do the incense. I do incense. I set my intentions, and I swear to God, the smoke comes towards me. But past just incense in witch store, like, I know what I want. Like, I know what I want. And I feel like, because I know so strongly what I want, the universe is like, okay, you can have.
Alex
Do you feel that with your career?
Quinlan Blackwell
Literally, there's videos of me from Twitter in, like, 2016, 2015, after every Victoria's Secret fashion show. I would put brooms on my back and make, like, fake wings. And I would, like, put trash bags and make, like, crazy contraptions. And I would walk down my parents hallway with, like, the most gnarliest boots on of all time and be like, one day, I'll be a Victoria's Secret angel.
Alex
Can we, like, talk about that for a second?
Quinlan Blackwell
Yeah. The craziest day of my life.
Alex
Was that.
Quinlan Blackwell
Like, that was.
Alex
Were you so scared? Did you take anything before?
Quinlan Blackwell
I was so scared. I didn't take anything, but I did eat some of the backstage food. And I'm allergic to, like, oils and stuff and certain things. Like, it'll bloat me. It'll break me out. And I ate one of the. I ate one of the food. And probably an hour before we were meant to go walk on the Runway, I got so bulleted to the point to where, like, I couldn't even, like, move. Cause I felt like my guts were stretching an hour before, and I was like. Like, I just did all the fucking lymphatic drainage of all time in the entire world. I literally did my entire life to not be bloated in this hour. And I just did some yoga, and it stretched my stomach and guts out just enough so the bloat could go away. And I wish. You know what? I wish I had I included. If you tried, baby, I would.
Alex
It's a feeling.
Quinlan Blackwell
Thank you.
Alex
But, like, I know that you.
Quinlan Blackwell
I felt it.
Alex
I feel like you're fine.
Quinlan Blackwell
Thank you. Respectfully, you're good. You're good. Respectfully, you're good. And also at Coachella, I found some Lemmy D bloats. I don't know if you've ever had a Lemme D Bloat. Yeah, bitch, they work. But I didn't know they had maybe. I don't know if they have a laxative or something in them, because during Coachella, I took six of them. I took six of them and one hold.
Alex
You took six?
Quinlan Blackwell
I took six.
Alex
Well, maybe because you're overdosing on them, you're sick too. I have to pluck my eyebrows every time I do my makeup because I plucked half them off this year, so they grow back so fast.
Quinlan Blackwell
But the thin eyebrows, everything, right?
Alex
Mm. I wanna do more same.
Quinlan Blackwell
Go, Gabriette.
Alex
Mm, it looks so good.
Quinlan Blackwell
It's the thinner the brow. I see why they used to do it in the early 2000s, but I
Alex
feel like there's gonna be a point where the thick brow, like, becomes a moment again.
Quinlan Blackwell
And I'm like, can we just get eyebrow transplants? I feel like I missed out by not going to college. Do you think people who don't go to college miss out on, like, a pivotal, like, formative point?
Alex
Like a little bit?
Quinlan Blackwell
Yeah. Yeah. I think it, like, socializes you for adulthood.
Alex
It does. Like, I mean, just it's. It feels like adult summer camp in a way. Like, you're kind of like you're going to school, but it's kind of like you're on your own for the first time. But I feel like you also have had that, like, being out here and being on your own and like, LA compared to college.
Quinlan Blackwell
Like, I know all my friends that went to college and I'm like, did
Alex
you go out in LA when it was fun?
Quinlan Blackwell
No, I can't. I moved to LA during Pandemic.
Alex
Oh.
Quinlan Blackwell
So I missed out on the heydays. Well,
Alex
do you have fun here?
Quinlan Blackwell
Yeah, I had so much fun here. You can tell me where the fun
Alex
is at because I'm not happy.
Quinlan Blackwell
No, there's no fun here now. There's no more fun. Oh, no more fun. Capitalism has taken all fun. There is no fun. There's only work. Well, there's fun, but scary fun. It's like life threatening fun. Do you have a mirror I can borrow? Oh, I don't like you.
Alex
Mirror, mirror, mirror, mirror. Where you at? What are you doing?
Quinlan Blackwell
Plucking my eyebrows.
Alex
Tell us how you get started with your get ready routine. Okay.
Quinlan Blackwell
That's how I get started with my get ready routine. I look at myself, I say, self, we're about to take this fucking day. And then I take my tweezers and I get ready to cry. And I usually shave my eyebrows off.
Alex
Do you use one of those little, like, face razors?
Quinlan Blackwell
Yeah, I'm like a Cheater. I'm not fucking doing this. I hate.
Alex
I feel like it only lasts, though, for, like, a day.
Quinlan Blackwell
It lasts 24 hours. Yeah. The root. And I've honestly been taking my skincare so insanely for the past four months now that my makeup routine is pretty easy.
Alex
What are you loving?
Quinlan Blackwell
I'm loving. Sorry. Some of that dust from the. I'm loving my hourglass skin tint. I love a nice skin tint to where I feel like I can still move my face because I'm really, like, expressive, and then I get lying.
Alex
How do you move your face like that?
Quinlan Blackwell
No, Botox. Oh, well, light. Light Botox. See, like, if I have, like, a
Alex
pinch on the top, mine is fading right now, so I can move a little bit more. But even, like, I don't know.
Quinlan Blackwell
Do you usually like a tight.
Alex
I don't. I don't want to move.
Quinlan Blackwell
You just want to be permakun. I feel that. I feel that. But I like to use my skin tint, girl. I'm literally about to just rip some of this shit out. Like, well, if I just take them all off,
Alex
take the whole brow off, it's gone.
Quinlan Blackwell
That's better. I hate. I literally just. As a makeup artist, to pluck my eyebrows for me when I'm on set. Please clean me up.
Alex
Do you like getting your makeup done?
Quinlan Blackwell
No. Okay. I don't not like getting my makeup done. I just get very overstimulated.
Alex
You can't sit there for two hours.
Quinlan Blackwell
I can sit there, but I'm like,
Alex
don't you find it crazy that it takes. Well, how long does it usually take to do your makeup? I could do mine in two minutes.
Quinlan Blackwell
It matters on the makeup artist because people like to, like, overdo it on me and turn me into a dragon. I call it dragon. I'm like, oh, my God. I cannot have a dragon makeup artist because they will bake and beat me into a sculpture, and I'm trying to look like a person. And so if I have a dragon makeup artist, then it's gonna be a wild, long ride, like a two hour thing. But if I have, like, a light beat makeup artist, then it could be like, an hour.
Alex
Mm. I feel like mine always take two hours. Maybe I'm working with the dragons.
Quinlan Blackwell
Yeah, you're working with the dragons.
Alex
But I feel like I need a lot more help than you do, girl.
Quinlan Blackwell
No, no.
Alex
I need to, like, shape shift. You don't really.
Quinlan Blackwell
That face was caring when I first walked in. Really? You don't think?
Alex
Lies.
Quinlan Blackwell
No lies. Truth.
Alex
Okay. Thank you, Julie.
Quinlan Blackwell
Yes. If you was tore up, I would've been like, girl. And we all do. Sometimes
Alex
I feel like I'm still green from this weekend. You know when after, like, a long weekend of going out, your color hasn't come back yet.
Quinlan Blackwell
I'm black, babe. Baby, I don't have to deal with it.
Alex
Okay. It's fine. You don't turn green.
Quinlan Blackwell
Cool. I stay really golden. But I do know the feeling because I'm there. Yeah.
Alex
Yeah.
Quinlan Blackwell
Or you feel like where you feel like.
Alex
And I had a photo shoot yesterday, and they were like, do you like the photos? And I go, mm, mm. No, I don't.
Quinlan Blackwell
You had a photo shoot yesterday. Coachella was the day before that. So she had a photo shoot right after Coachella, babe. That's crazy.
Alex
I just didn't have enough time in the days to put it another day. So there we go, girl.
Quinlan Blackwell
What's that? I'm just trying to blend. Like, I'm, like, tapping it in to, like, create a bond. Me acting like I know what I'm talking about. So actually, if you slap the forehead, it'll create a bond with the skin tint.
Alex
I feel like every four to five months, I need to switch up my products because I feel like, for some reason, then they don't work the same. No.
Quinlan Blackwell
They, like, expire, I think. No, no, no.
Alex
But, like, they don't make me look as good as they did when I first bought them. I feel that even if I repurchase it, I feel that I have to switch it up. And then I'm like, oh, it's a new. It just makes me look better.
Quinlan Blackwell
I'm the same way. Cause I was a Icosas truther on the brow tint gel, and then I recently did rare beauty, and I'm like, hold on.
Alex
I heard that one's good.
Quinlan Blackwell
It is. It is. It's like glue. Actually. Selena got them in the field, figuring out them potion recipes. They're so good.
Alex
So, L.A. l. A. I love LA how was doing that?
Quinlan Blackwell
Crazy.
Alex
I loved your cameo.
Quinlan Blackwell
Thank you so much. I had such a good time. It was scary at first because I never acted before.
Alex
You're good at it.
Quinlan Blackwell
Thank you.
Alex
Do you want to do acting?
Quinlan Blackwell
Oh, my God. My whole life. My whole life. I, like, want the Internet to be a hobby, like, how it began. Like, I want it to always just be, like, my safe space to do what I want and occasionally work on but have other jobs outside of it so it can remain, like, something pure.
Alex
Yeah.
Quinlan Blackwell
Even though I'm, like, so Y', all, the shamwow rug. But also, I still get to, like, talk for myself, and it's not my whole, whole, whole job, you know?
Alex
Yeah.
Quinlan Blackwell
Social media to me is like, I'm bilingual in Internet. Like, it's not hard. It's like, speaking English. But, like, acting to me is, like, a whole new language that I have to learn and, like, grow up.
Alex
It's something to work on.
Quinlan Blackwell
Yeah. And I like a challenge.
Alex
Yeah.
Quinlan Blackwell
Like, I was an athletic child, I was a competitive cheerleader, and I was a dancer growing up. And
Alex
so you don't like being on set, do you like that environment? Yeah, yeah.
Quinlan Blackwell
I like doing, like. I like doing stuff. I like not having to sit down. Like, ooh, let's do our makeup.
Alex
Eee.
Quinlan Blackwell
That's fun. I love it so much. I love a set day. I love what we're doing. But doing, like, an acting set was everything. It just feels like such a challenge. It's such a challenge, and there's so many great people in it, and I just love the people that are part of the community, and I just wanna do it for forever. And I like movies, and I like. I feel like I was acting on the Internet.
Alex
Yeah.
Quinlan Blackwell
And then the Internet got me before
Alex
I could, in a poor way. Kind of preps you for, like. I did something recently, which I can't talk about yet, but it was just like, a little, like, cameo thingamajig, but I kind of had to improv a little bit on set. And they were like, oh, you're so, like, natural at, like, switching it up. And I was like. Cause I feel like it's similar to, like, what you do on social media. It's not, like, have a script. And I'm. I mean, at least maybe I don't. I don't, like, prepare anything I post until it goes live.
Quinlan Blackwell
Wow. Like a Rob artist. Yeah, yeah, same. Literally, people are like, oh, my God. Like, sometimes it's so weird to talk to. You're channeling something.
Alex
But I don't use this.
Quinlan Blackwell
Something's taken you let it take you. It might be a secret trick.
Alex
I don't think it's working, though. I've never done this,
Quinlan Blackwell
but I think anyone who's up on the Internet is kind of like a loser in reality, because you are on your phone instead of in reality, not a loser, but you're just kind of, like, antisocial in a way. Like, I was very anxious and very antisocial when I was. So I went to my phone for, like, refuge and made videos that way. And then like it turned into a job. But it was never that. It was just like a place for me to feel safe. And so then when I come into reality, I'm like, yep, I am the girl with the phone. Like, I am the girl with the phone. That's me.
Alex
Do you ever get like embarrassed? Like, do you ever feel not, I'm asking as like from personal experience? Like, I feel like I like expose myself so much online and then if you go to things or you're at like cool things or with people and I'm like, these people see me do this and I'm like, do they just think I'm a weirdo? Or even now I'm like dating. And for a second I feel like I was holding back on what I was posting. Cause I was like, have never really been single and doing this. And I was like, wait, a guy's gonna see this and be like, she's a freak. But then I was like, I can't do that. I can't. It's your job, it's your life. And someone has to be comfortable. Set me for who I am.
Quinlan Blackwell
Yes, yes.
Alex
But wondering your thoughts.
Quinlan Blackwell
Yeah, this is like my current therapy session actually right now. And I think it's outside of just our jobs. I think it's like we self surveil with our phones and it like creates this third viewer in our life where it's like me and you are talking, but there's this. And other people feel this too in their day to day lives, even when they're not on the set. And I think it's from social media. So then I think we're always thinking about how we're being perceived more than people did before technology. And so I think like this perception that we feel so deeply, like we get insecure about it because we're always trying to figure out like what someone else is thinking about us because we're thinking because. You know what I mean?
Alex
I wasn't following for a second.
Quinlan Blackwell
Yeah, yeah. But you see why I brought you back? I brought you back. I'm thinking about how I'm being perceived all the time, especially as like a young black woman who's in this field, like, oh my God, I'm thinking about how I'm being perceived 24 7. I think just like as a young woman, as someone who is on the Internet and has it as a job, like people, like, you're being perceived, bitch. Like you're gonna feel that shit to the bone.
Alex
But do you let it hold you back at all or no, you just keep going.
Quinlan Blackwell
It matters on the room, which I think, like, for anything, like you read the room. If I can let all my full crazy weirdness out, then I do. But if I'm in a serious ass room, then I'm like, damn, these are some serious ass people and I don't post a lot of serious shit. I wonder if they've seen my non serious shit all the time. What do they think about that? But it's fine. I also, like, lean into my youth and I think being young makes everything okay. Yeah.
Alex
Right?
Quinlan Blackwell
We don't know what to do. Yeah. I have some time to get, like, aged and tasteful. I just don't want to be young. Freaking fun right now.
Alex
Yeah. Imagine like, do you think we'll be like old and put together and like proper?
Quinlan Blackwell
No, it's like, I'm like, I think I'm going to be like the type
Alex
of mom that's like, okay, like a fun moment.
Quinlan Blackwell
Like a fun mom to an extent. But like, don't play with me. But like, let's have fun. But like, I'm not your friend. But I mean, I'm like, cool. Like, you fuck with me and your friends, like, trust me more than their own parents because like, I'm just like a place where you can come and feel safe. I love that you want to be a mom.
Alex
I want to be a mom. I want to have like, I think three or five kids. Whoa. Do you want. Do you want to do that too? Five? I don't know. I have to give birth to one
Quinlan Blackwell
and take a decision. One?
Alex
Yeah.
Quinlan Blackwell
I think I need to do the first test to see how many I truly want. But I want a family.
Alex
Yeah, I want a family. I'm very excited for that chapter.
Quinlan Blackwell
Same, same.
Alex
It's not coming right now for me, but it'll be there.
Quinlan Blackwell
Like, no rush. No rush. I literally told my friends, I'm like, you have to kiss frogs before your prince comes.
Alex
Someone said that to me last week. I can't even bring myself to kiss the frogs. I'm like, they're there and I don't want anything to do with.
Quinlan Blackwell
But when you don't want anything to do at all. Like, I was going on so many dates with literally like the scariest creatures this world has ever seen. Like, I was going on dates, being like, well, maybe. Maybe it's the personality that counts. Like, yeah, he doesn't have a, you know, vibe to him, but maybe we'll get there. I would have kids right now if I wasn't, you Would have kids right now if I wasn't working.
Alex
I don't think that could be work.
Quinlan Blackwell
When do you want kids?
Alex
Like, I would like them soon.
Quinlan Blackwell
Okay.
Alex
But not now. Not now.
Quinlan Blackwell
Not now, not now. I think if I had a kid now, my kid would be like, mommy. And I'd be like, quinlan, I can
Alex
barely take care of my dog, so I don't think, yeah, I can take
Quinlan Blackwell
care of a dog.
Alex
I think that was a good wake up call for me.
Quinlan Blackwell
Yeah.
Alex
You don't have a dog, right, though? Just cats?
Quinlan Blackwell
Yes. I only have cats right now, but I'm getting a dog.
Alex
Okay.
Quinlan Blackwell
Giant schnauzer. A what? A giant schnauzer.
Alex
A giant schnauzer? Yeah.
Quinlan Blackwell
Have you ever seen one? No. I'll show you literally everything. My dad has, like, a dog kennel in Texas where he trains people's dogs. He, like, trains people's dogs to, like, protect them or if they have, like, need, like a. I don't know, like a support. I don't know what he does. He trains dogs. Girl, they can close doors and, like, do. And I'm like, I need a dog. I need my dog training to make me feel. Yeah, he can train your dog.
Alex
She just peed on the floor out there before when we walked in. She's never done me. She was excited.
Quinlan Blackwell
If you need your dog trained, my dad can do it for real. What is it?
Alex
You wanna see what's in here?
Quinlan Blackwell
Girl, you just picked up a cake that I thought was real.
Alex
Mm. Take a bite. We have questions in here.
Quinlan Blackwell
Okay.
Alex
We couldn't ask them and go back and forth.
Quinlan Blackwell
Okay, what is something you love that everyone else's hate? Girl, that was English. Hold on. What's something you love that everyone else hates and vice versa?
Alex
Oh, whoa, whoa. Maybe silence. Like, in terms of, like, whenever someone's like, what music do you listen to? I'm like, quiet. I love music, but I never listen to it in the car. Silent. Getting ready Silent. Glam silent. It's psychotic.
Quinlan Blackwell
No, it's not. It's really not. Cause you probably do so much shit.
Alex
That's what I like when I get peace and quiet. I'm like, I don't want to. Every time someone does my hair makeup, like a hair makeup artist, I'm like, should we play some music? And I'm like, I don't want to sit here in complete silence. They probably hate working with me.
Quinlan Blackwell
No, they like it because I used to think, as an entertainer, that everyone only liked to be around me for my entertaining qualities. Like, I Did not feel comfortable in silence with people because I'm like, shouldn't we just be alone if that's what it's about to be? But then I got around people that, like, talk about how much work. How much craziness happens around them from work, and people appreciate silence. Yeah, I love silence. I love silence in my car. I think if I can stay silent for, like, 30 minutes to an hour, like, a part of my brain heals. Okay, well, I'm there with you. You're not weird.
Alex
Cool. What's your answer then? Okay, what do you love that everyone else hates? Nothing. You're perfect.
Quinlan Blackwell
No, there's lots of them. Sardines.
Alex
I love sardines. Don't even play. Do you love sardines?
Quinlan Blackwell
I love sardines with all my heart. I also love if I'm gonna, like, it matters on what part of my life I'm in. Cause I like silence. Or I like crazy I like silence. Or sardines, I like crazy. Like, happy hardcore music where it's like, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't.
Alex
Like dubstep?
Quinlan Blackwell
Hell, no. Like music that literally just sounds like making Boston fans together. Because it makes my brain quiet. Okay. A lot of people don't like that, but that's what I'm into.
Alex
I'll have to play some for me later.
Quinlan Blackwell
Yeah, you'll love it. You have a therapist?
Alex
No. And I need to get one. I had one, and then I stopped working with her. But that was, like, two years ago.
Quinlan Blackwell
Was she.
Alex
No, she just was giving me advice that I'm not sure I wanted. She was telling me to be in an open relationship, and I was like, I don't want to do that. So, like. And I want to go to therapy so, like, they can just tell me what to do. I don't want to have to, like, really figure it out. So then I was like, if I can't trust what you're going to tell
Quinlan Blackwell
me to do, then you're not the one.
Alex
Yeah, but I do have to find one.
Quinlan Blackwell
I had a therapist, like, that one time.
Alex
And you.
Quinlan Blackwell
I left that therapist, but I found it. Like, I'm always on the hunt for a better and better therapist, and I found it. I went to this guy who used to be, like, this, like, raging narcissist terrorist of la, and everyone started to love him. And I'm like, you're going in?
Alex
No, I Just wanted to see what it was.
Quinlan Blackwell
You're going into it?
Alex
I don't think there's alcohol in this. It's like a nice juice. I thought it was poison. Carrot juice or something.
Quinlan Blackwell
Mm, mm, mm. Woo. It's grapefruit.
Alex
It really has, like, an octagon Z. It tastes like Windex.
Quinlan Blackwell
Like the Lemon Pledge. What is it that you do on the floors? I don't know. I don't know. There was like, this narcissistic terrorist that existed and everyone started to love him. And I'm like, what changed? And he's like, my therapist made me confront my shadow. I'm like, okay, well, give me this therapist. And she's the best therapist I've ever in my entire life.
Alex
How long have you been with her?
Quinlan Blackwell
Probably four years now. Oh, wow. Three years. So I've been in therapy since I was a child.
Alex
Yeah. I haven't been in two years. Wow.
Quinlan Blackwell
How do you cope?
Alex
Like losing my mind.
Quinlan Blackwell
Okay, okay.
Alex
Like, I'm not making any decisions about the times. I don't care. Oh, but also, I have a birth chart reader.
Quinlan Blackwell
Oh, you have an astrologist.
Alex
Yep. I was on with her this morning. Oh, good.
Quinlan Blackwell
And you're like, what's.
Alex
Tell me everything.
Narrator/Advertiser
Tell me everything.
Alex
And I use that in lieu.
Quinlan Blackwell
That works.
Alex
Or like a witch. I'll find out. I love Etsy.
Narrator/Advertiser
Yes.
Alex
Read my cards.
Quinlan Blackwell
Anything you get down, period.
Alex
Yeah, but that I should probably do a therapist.
Quinlan Blackwell
Yeah, a therapist would help to all those things. But if, you know, like, the vibe of your life, astrology can really help you, like, prepare.
Alex
And I love it so much. I think it's so underrated.
Quinlan Blackwell
What's your sign?
Alex
I'm massage. What are you?
Quinlan Blackwell
Capricorn.
Alex
What's your rising time?
Quinlan Blackwell
Rising cancer.
Alex
Oh, I'm a Scorpio.
Quinlan Blackwell
Wow. Rising. You're like. You're serious. Yeah. It doesn't really get to you. Does it get to you? I feel like cancer's like.
Alex
Yeah. I get emotional, but I don't know. I honestly don't know what's going on.
Quinlan Blackwell
What's your moon? Virgo. I don't know nothing about Virgo.
Alex
They're like, very. I think, like, put to, like, organized. It's how you, like, I don't know.
Quinlan Blackwell
Are you organized?
Alex
Well, yes. Not like, physically, but I think mentally that's good. I think so. Like, a structure to some things. I swear to God I have some structure.
Quinlan Blackwell
You might not think. No, I believe Amy.
Alex
You may not think, but there's something there. What's your mood?
Quinlan Blackwell
Scorpio.
Alex
Okay. Scorpio says Burr.
Quinlan Blackwell
Yeah. She gets down. They wouldn't believe how bad she gets down. She gets down. Me trying to be the cool mom.
Alex
She gets down. Upside down.
Quinlan Blackwell
Upside down.
Alex
Around. What's the most recent thing you Googled? I guess you would have to have your phone for that, right? I can think.
Quinlan Blackwell
I can think. We can use our thing. We can use our brick.
Alex
Tell us your deepest, darkest secrets.
Quinlan Blackwell
Get on my phone.
Alex
Yes, coming.
Quinlan Blackwell
Would you ever get eyelash extensions?
Alex
I did. I was allergic to them. And my eyes looked like vaginas.
Quinlan Blackwell
Ooh.
Alex
They were close shut.
Quinlan Blackwell
Were you allergic to the glue?
Alex
Mm. What'd you Google?
Quinlan Blackwell
Mouth tape. Before and after.
Alex
Do you melty?
Quinlan Blackwell
I'm letting it start.
Alex
Really?
Quinlan Blackwell
Yeah.
Alex
Do you think it actually does something?
Quinlan Blackwell
Yeah, like, I'm out here. It does. Like.
Alex
Like, you don't need that, though.
Quinlan Blackwell
I want to be like this all the time. Mm. But maybe that's just me, like, overanalyzing myself too much.
Alex
I've been sleeping with my mouth open recently. I have clocked. Cause I wake up on my.
Quinlan Blackwell
And I'm like. Like, I can't. I can't. I feel like a dog. So, yes, I'm gonna start mouth taping. Do you have any beauty hacks?
Alex
Was that a question in the cake box? Was that a question in the cake box, or did you just say that? I see. I see. Cause that's a beauty act.
Quinlan Blackwell
Yeah, I'm, like, trying to get.
Alex
You're drinking that again.
Quinlan Blackwell
I like it. Okay. I like sour. Okay.
Alex
Okay. Oh, your turn.
Quinlan Blackwell
No, I asked, but mine was off the dome. Okay, I'll stop doing that. I just. Interview.
Alex
Was that in the cake box?
Quinlan Blackwell
I mean, you had to do it for my show. I'm trying to help you.
Alex
What's your Getting Ready playlist?
Quinlan Blackwell
My Getting Ready playlist is Nina Simone. Right now, I'm into a classic jazz type of era. I like Julie London. I like Chet Baker. One time I said Chet Barker, and I was around musicians. They were like, that's not his name. I'm like, so not get insecure with our freaking fuck.
Alex
It's bigger,
Quinlan Blackwell
Like, Chubby girl. And that's, like, my gag right now.
Alex
I say everything wrong. I pronounce everything, and I can't.
Quinlan Blackwell
When someone corrects me, I literally want to kill them with my eyes.
Alex
I didn't panel, like, last month or something, two weeks ago or something when Real Active was coming out, and they were like, who else? Like, what other creators do you love? And I was like, I go clemonal. Black. I said it completely wrong, and it was so terrible and embarrassing, and I'm so happy. That didn't go anywhere at wwd. Damn, I botched.
Quinlan Blackwell
Girl, you can come to black. Well, you know when men look, like, don't even see you as a person. They just see you as, like, beauty. And so how they treat you is different than, like, what you actually are. Cause you're more than your appearance. Like, you, like, you're like, a nasty ass fucking, like, human like the rest of them. But they're like, hey, Alex. And you're like, what is that? Why are you talking to me like that? I'm scared.
Alex
But, yeah, Damson, are you scared doing that stuff?
Quinlan Blackwell
Doing the red and white? Petrified.
Alex
Yes. I could not. I could never do that.
Quinlan Blackwell
No, no. There's something about me that likes a stage. I like an audience. I, like, love it. Like, anytime I do, like, a college event and they put me on that fucking stage, like, I feel like Superman.
Alex
This is a real. It really.
Quinlan Blackwell
I'm like, what? Like, everyone jump?
Alex
Yeah.
Quinlan Blackwell
Literally love being on the stage. But the red carpet is just like.
Alex
I don't know, though. Having to handle interactions like that, I don't think I could do.
Quinlan Blackwell
Yeah, it's really odd to talk to someone like, you know them in seconds. That's about it. But I think because I have my show, I've grown that skill over time, so it's not that scary. Like, I did my first red carpet hosting when I was 19. I'm 25 now, so that's crazy. I'm a hat. Harrison reps.
Alex
When did you start that job?
Quinlan Blackwell
My cooking job.
Alex
Feeding starving celebrities.
Quinlan Blackwell
Feeding starving celebrities started probably. You should come on.
Alex
I would love to. Thank you. I love it so much.
Quinlan Blackwell
Feeding starving celebrities.
Alex
Was that an invite? Sorry?
Quinlan Blackwell
It was an invite. It was an invite. It came out, girl. It came out probably two years ago. It was because Lil Nas X and Dustin Conrad wanted to come over and party. And I'm like, y' all have music careers. I need to fucking work. Someone help. And they're like, okay, what do you want to do? I'm gonna cook. So then I took out my YouTube camera and cooked. And then I did it with another friend. Another friend. And then it was like a show. Like, I guess you do something so many times, bitch.
Alex
Yeah. The epitome of getting ready in this pink box.
Quinlan Blackwell
Like, this started on your phone.
Alex
We're doing great over here.
Quinlan Blackwell
This looks fine. It's just. I want.
Alex
We're also gonna finish doing lips on each other, too. So don't worry about making it perfect. Cause I'm gonna get in there. We're gonna do each other's lips as well.
Quinlan Blackwell
I can't agree. I think my biggest red flag is that I think, like, my opinion comes before a man's.
Alex
Mm.
Quinlan Blackwell
Well, wait. Actually, like, I believe it. Well, it just, like, makes. Just makes it hard. Yeah. Like, when a man says something, I'm like, you don't know what you're talking about, baby. I don't know.
Alex
That's bad.
Quinlan Blackwell
But it also matters on, like, who it is. But, like, we were at Coachella, and this guy walked past us, and he's like, give us a smile. And I took that as literally. Like. Like, I did that as a threat. I'm like, what the fuck?
Alex
Someone told me to smile and punch
Quinlan Blackwell
us in my face. And it was after our driver was lost. So we were sitting outside while the dust was flurrying in our eyes because other people were driving by, and we were just stranger. Our phones were out of service, and this guy walked by, and he's like, just give us a smile. Like, bro, I feel like I'm about to die, actually, right now, because I don't know where my fucking ride is. I'm scared.
Alex
You, like, can't breathe at that hour. Yeah, it's too much.
Quinlan Blackwell
What's my other big red flag? Maybe that I like to smoke weed. I don't have any red flags.
Alex
Like, no, we don't identify with it.
Quinlan Blackwell
I'm perfect. Like, I don't know about you.
Alex
Okay, last one. Quinn's show is called Feeding Starving Celebrities. So what would you feed your starving enemies?
Quinlan Blackwell
Rat poison? Raid? Windex? I would feed my enemies. Poison them? No, I don't have any. I don't have a lot of enemies. I probably have one ex that I would consider an enemy because he was just ridiculous. Like, you're dating someone that's, like, ridiculous. Yeah, he's ridiculous. So he's like, my enemy. Like, bro, why were you. And then as you, like, age, you realize people aren't supposed to act like that, so it makes you even more like, bro, what.
Alex
What were you doing to me? Was he older than you?
Quinlan Blackwell
Yeah, I don't date guys my age.
Alex
I went on a date with a guy who is a year older than me. I can't do it again. That's not never.
Quinlan Blackwell
What did it feel? What was it? Did you feel like you were, like, mothering? Maybe?
Alex
It just didn't. There was no with the vibe off. Like, it didn't feel like I was with, like, a man. Like, I want someone to take care of me.
Quinlan Blackwell
Yeah.
Alex
But sometimes then I've gone too far the other end, and I'm like.
Quinlan Blackwell
I'm like, grandpa. Same. I'm like, get up all geezer. I'm tired of going to the grocery store.
Alex
Yeah. But I want someone who, like, knows their shit.
Quinlan Blackwell
Yeah. You have to find a healthy medium. I've gone both sides of the spectrum with the guys that are my age. I just feel like they hate me.
Alex
I feel like we're too mature.
Quinlan Blackwell
We're too mature and they hate me. They despise me. And usually they have mommy issues. Yeah. And then I've gone to where the guys are way older than me, and they think that they're, like, my teacher. I'm like, I don't want to learn anything from you. I want you to be my man. There's a difference.
Alex
Yeah.
Quinlan Blackwell
I wanted to learn something from you. You'll be my mentor. But you're not. You're my man. Stop giving me advice, please. Thank you, Alex.
Alex
So you're gonna. We're gonna put these on. Then we're gonna find our lip combo and hand it to each other.
Quinlan Blackwell
Okay.
Alex
And then paint each other.
Quinlan Blackwell
Bro, this is fucked up.
Alex
We're also gonna have my EP ask us some questions while I. Sick.
Quinlan Blackwell
We're upside down.
Alex
Sick, sick, sick, sick, sick. Can't see.
Quinlan Blackwell
Are you crazy? We're supposed to put our. Okay, so I'll grab.
Alex
Girl, we have to find the lip liner.
Quinlan Blackwell
YouTube.
Alex
TikTok. Hi. Hi. Something's really wrong.
Quinlan Blackwell
I know, bro. Okay, switch.
Alex
Wait, you gave me two.
Quinlan Blackwell
Where's your face, bro? Are you crazy?
Alex
Hand.
Quinlan Blackwell
Are you crazy?
Alex
Are those your underwear? Yeah,
Quinlan Blackwell
my pants are too tight.
Alex
My goggles are just staring at your garage.
Quinlan Blackwell
I don't know where to move them
Alex
to get them out.
Quinlan Blackwell
Do they have video in them?
Alex
Stitch or spongebob?
Quinlan Blackwell
Spongebob.
Alex
I'm just gonna, like, feel okay ordering in or going out? Going.
Quinlan Blackwell
Going out.
Alex
Dating apps or irl?
Quinlan Blackwell
Irl.
Alex
Irl.
Quinlan Blackwell
Oh, okay.
Alex
Jacob.
Quinlan Blackwell
Team Jacob.
Alex
Oh, Team Jacob. Okay.
Quinlan Blackwell
Are you doing me first? And I do you.
Alex
I don't know.
Quinlan Blackwell
Yeah, Go
Alex
Sexy Halloween look. Or funny Halloween. We love sexy sexy. If you're France.
Quinlan Blackwell
Italy.
Alex
Italy.
Quinlan Blackwell
Sicily, in specific. Girl, this is literally insane. Alex, I can't do this. No, it's fine. I'm already, like, deficient.
Alex
Okay.
Quinlan Blackwell
Okay, we're good. Can we take these off?
Alex
Yeah, no, you gotta go home in these. Okay.
Quinlan Blackwell
We did that.
Alex
You didn't get it on your teeth. I'm so sorry.
Quinlan Blackwell
Thank you, Alex.
Alex
Thanks for getting on your teeth.
Quinlan Blackwell
Thank you for having me. This is so fun.
Alex
That was insane. I was gonna puke.
Quinlan Blackwell
That was great.
Alex
Guys, I'm gonna take off my makeup quickly, so we're gonna do some real active skep bare makeup. Removing melting balm. That was so, so much fun. I am obsessed with Quinn. I think she's the funniest person ever, and I've always wanted to actually hang out with her, so I'm excited. And now I feel like maybe I will have a new friend in la. And I think it was really fun to see her fun, outgoing side and then also a little bit more of her, like, serious, heartfelt side too, and that was just so fun. Good morning. I'm all so happy. She did not want to drink. I was so scared. It's like, I can't take Mahogan watch right now. I'm still struggling from Coachella, so I'm really that happy about that. That was a plus. Just had a little sitting orgs, and if you guys have anyone that you want to see on Get Real With Me, let me know in the comments so we could get working on that for you. So let me know, and I hope you guys like this episode, and I will see you guys next time for another episode. Bye.
