Hey, guys. Welcome back to Get Real With Me. You guys know the drill by now. We are getting ready doing our makeup while we get real with some of my favorite people. You know, usually I would say, like, grab a snack or grab a drink, but you might want to get out a pen and paper today because we are learning from an expert. I am so, so excited for our guest today. She is so fun, so funny, so glamorous, and hello. Get real with me.
Simone
Alex, girl.
Alex Earl
Hey.
Simone
What's going on?
Alex Earl
Welcome in.
Simone
Oh, my God. Look at this beautiful space. Oh, my God.
Alex Earl
Oh, my gosh. I'm so excited you're here.
Simone
I'm so excited to be here. Thank you for having me. Sista.
Alex Earl
How's it going?
Simone
It's going lovely. I'm so happy to be here on this lovely day.
Alex Earl
I even got, like, some of your same products.
Simone
You do. I clocked that.
Alex Earl
I'm so excited for this.
Simone
I was like, oh, we're twinning today. I love.
Alex Earl
Usually I'm doing my own makeup, but I was like, I need to learn your eye look and everything. I need you to help me. I cannot do eyeshadow for the lack of me.
Simone
Listen, this took me. I've been doing this for aging myself 15 years. So I got you. I got some things for you.
Alex Earl
Okay. Amazing. And, yeah, we met at Vogue World.
Simone
So I was behind you and someone didn't show up, and I was like, I think we should move. I'm gonna move. Let's come in Front. And then we're sitting next to you, and we kind of, like, a little quiet at first, but then we kind of warmed up to each other. It was really fun.
Alex Earl
I know.
Simone
Thank God.
Alex Earl
Because, I mean, I always get so intimidated at that stuff.
Simone
I know. It's kind of. Especially that one. Specifically.
Alex Earl
Yes. And Simone was there and just. You were just so, like, funny and fun and, like, just cheering for everyone. And I was like, oh, this is great.
Narrator/Advertiser
Yeah.
Alex Earl
So I'm so happy you're here.
Simone
Thank you.
Alex Earl
I feel like we should have a drink.
Simone
Let's have a drink, please. Because, listen, let's just, like.
Alex Earl
Let's just get warm.
Simone
Let's just have a good time. Let's do makeup and drink.
Alex Earl
Okay. And I heard you like tequila sunrise.
Simone
I do.
Alex Earl
Okay.
Simone
How gorgeous. Wow. Thank you so much. This is gorgeous.
Alex Earl
You are very welcome.
Simone
Are you a tequila girl?
Alex Earl
I am.
Simone
You are? Okay.
Alex Earl
Yes. No, I mean, I was drinking tequila until like, 6am last. Yes.
Simone
My girl.
Alex Earl
Keep going.
Simone
Right now, they say the best way to get over one is to get under a new one.
Alex Earl
That's what I'm saying.
Simone
Which is a new hangover. So let's do it.
Alex Earl
How do we make this?
Simone
We make this first. We get a good wallop of tequila. We always start with the base alcohol.
Alex Earl
That's very cool.
Simone
Are we doing a large, medium, small?
Alex Earl
I would say, like. I'll do large.
Simone
Let's do a. You're my girl, Alex. I knew it. I knew you were my girl.
Alex Earl
I would say let's not be shy.
Simone
Oh, my God. Okay, tell me when that's good. Perfect. Wait, wait. So you're all doing me. Wait a minute. Let me get on your level. Hold on. Okay, cool.
Alex Earl
I'm not paying attention. I'm like, perfect, then do we do some orange juice?
Simone
Let's do some orange juice. Of course. Because it's the morning. Gorgeous.
Alex Earl
See, you didn't make as much of a mess as I did.
Simone
I see. It's fine. It's fine, it's fine. Then let's drop a little bit of here in here. Oh, look how beautiful and stunning and gorgeous. Right? You wanna do it?
Alex Earl
Gotcha, girl.
Simone
I got you, girl.
Alex Earl
Wow.
Simone
It's beautiful. Gorgeous.
Alex Earl
I'm up. I'm alive.
Simone
You're up. You're alive. And just like that.
Alex Earl
Cheers. Cheers. Good morning.
Simone
Good morning.
Alex Earl
Let's get the day going.
Simone
Let's get the day going. To getting real.
Alex Earl
Getting real.
Simone
To getting real. Ooh, I turned that. Ooh, I did good.
Alex Earl
I did good.
Simone
I did good.
Alex Earl
I don't taste.
Simone
Like I said, the alcoholist right here.
Alex Earl
This is delicious.
Simone
This is good. We're gonna come out of here. We're crawling. We're crawling.
Alex Earl
Oh, and we got a little topping here.
Simone
Oh, we have a garnish.
Alex Earl
Yeah.
Simone
Oh, my God.
Alex Earl
Mine's drowned.
Simone
Fabulous. Honey, we in. We over here in Boca Raton or something? Honey? Yes. Boca.
Alex Earl
I need to learn how you did this eye makeup look.
Simone
Okay, so usually I start with my brows, which is kind of crazy, and they're a little off today, but that's fine. I draw my brows on, and then I'll clean them. Concealer, the lightest one, like, right underneath. Which shout out to elf. Have you tried this concealer?
Alex Earl
No.
Simone
It's really lovely. It's inexpensive, and it's thick and lovely. It blends out, like, stunning. I'll show you one more.
Alex Earl
And you use that under your brows.
Simone
I do that under the brow, but now I just do, like, a little lovely little suggestion of a brow, and I go under and clean up above and below with the lightest concealer.
Alex Earl
Okay, I am on it. So when did you start doing drag?
Simone
Ooh, I started when I was 15, 16 years old, doing drag. So I've been doing it literally half my life.
Alex Earl
Really?
Simone
Yeah. Ooh. Did I just tell the truth of my age? Oh, there we go. No, there we go. Cut it.
Alex Earl
Cut it out.
Simone
Cut that.
Alex Earl
And how did you get into it?
Simone
So I watched a little show called RuPaul's Drag Race, and it was, like, the first thing that in me that was like, oh, my God, this is what I was meant to like. It clicked in my head. And so, like, I got a job, and I just started saving up money slowly and surely. Cause I only worked on the weekends. I just started buying makeup little by little. And every day after school, I had two hours at home by myself before either one when my parents got home. So I would just. I just started playing in makeup and just figuring out my face, what worked, what didn't work. And, honey, it was wild. Cause the foundation colors were not like they were today. And at the time, YouTube wasn't what it's now, so there weren't that many people doing makeup on, especially drag makeup. So I just had to figure it out, you know, over time. So. Yeah.
Alex Earl
And you know what? I never do fun colors like this or anything fun on my eyes. I'm. So I just put, like, bronzer on my lid. So I seriously am gonna need your help with guidance on this.
Simone
I got you. I got you.
Alex Earl
I don't know what I'm doing.
Simone
So we can use the pinks and stuff to transition and blend. And then we can put the pretty one of these gorgeous colors on the lid. Go in and just kind of map out your shape here. I usually start on the outside. Cause that's when you have the most room. And you can kind of clean that up easier. And then just go in, kind of bring it in like that. Mm, girl.
Alex Earl
Oh, my gosh. Is this pink gonna be a bad idea?
Simone
No, it's pretty. That's pretty. Okay, that's gorgeous. That's a wake it up color.
Alex Earl
This is my Tequila sunrise eyeshadow sunrise. Hi, mamas. So how was doing the show?
Simone
It was the best and most stressful thing I've ever done in my life, but it was the best thing I've ever done in my life. I was the most laser focused I'd ever been. Cause I was like, I'm living my dream. But also, I wanna win. And I had a pretty stunning package. So I was like, I have to show every outfit that me and my friends came up with. So I was very. We have to win. We have to do well on the challenges. Sometimes I faltered. Ain't gonna lie. I had to lip sync a couple times. Okay. A girl can't have it every day at the least. You will show every outfit that you brought to the show. You will show every outfit, you will show every wig, you will show every shoe choice that you made. It was really gratifying and just like, I've been watching it since season one. So to go on and be a part of it and then go on to win, that's so fun. It's incredible. And one of the best achievements of mine.
Alex Earl
Was it scary at all or, like, were you nervous?
Simone
I guess yes and no. Because we filmed during COVID and we were one of the first productions to go up. So I was nervous in the sense of, like, the challenges were nerve wracking, but I was just so excited to do drag again, you know, like, you see, you'll see when the makeup comes on, really gets in there. Simone comes alive. And so it just makes me. I was excited.
Alex Earl
I did my own makeup, actually, last night.
Simone
You did. You looked great. You looked really, really fabulous. I was like, her skin looks incredible. Like, it looked like, you know, the girls we have makeup on. But I was like, she looks, like, so glowy.
Alex Earl
Oh, thank you.
Simone
Yeah, thanks. What foundation do you use?
Alex Earl
I used. You go to Mary Phillips. But I used it for the first time because I just tried to get the products that my makeup artist uses, because I was like, I'm not trying to do this myself.
Simone
Help me out, girl.
Alex Earl
I was so nervous.
Simone
No, you looked incredible. And the dress. Shout out for the dress, mama.
Alex Earl
The dress was fun.
Simone
The dress was real good, girl. It was really good. Okay. I think you. Okay, so let's go in with a little black is too harsh. I feel.
Alex Earl
Do I need a purple?
Simone
Ooh, she feel. She feels lovely. The tequila sunrise. The tequila sunrise. Let's go in with purple. Let's do it.
Alex Earl
Okay.
Simone
I think so. And then that I would do outer edge and then actually make your crease, like this darker one. That's what I would do.
Alex Earl
Like, the one that way. Okay. That's where I'm coming from.
Simone
Let me give you the direct. Let me give you the motions here, here on the outside, and, like, really going, like, here.
Alex Earl
Okay. And did you learn everything from just
Simone
watching, literally watching people trial? A lot of trial and a whole bunch of error? I would say I really got good in my makeup in the past, like, five, six years. I would say, like, really, like, okay. I'm confidently good in my makeup.
Alex Earl
Yeah. It's always something, though, that changes, though. I feel it does.
Simone
Everything's always changing, you know, like, the makeup techniques and stuff. So it's like I take what I like from a trend, and I'm like, okay, this works good for my face. That's not so much. And then, like, it's always. You can kind of.
Alex Earl
What is wrong with me?
Simone
Hello. It's all that drinking you did till 6am that's what's wrong with you. Okay, so this is. What are you nervous about?
Alex Earl
No, I don't know.
Simone
I just need to do a little bit.
Alex Earl
It's definitely the blend in that I don't.
Simone
I think we should go in with another blend, like a bigger blending brush. Do we have one? No. No. Okay, so this is the one you've been using. Okay, let's use this one, I feel. And let's go in and just blend it out a little bit. Cause the shape you're getting at is really good.
Alex Earl
Okay. The blending is where, like, I lose it.
Simone
You lose it. No, that's looking great. I love that you went for the color, though. That is so fun.
Alex Earl
You know, I'm so happy that this palette was placed down here. I need a new show to watch because I just finished everything. I just finished Traitors, and I'm also watching Love Story. You watch Traitors?
Simone
Oh, yes, yes, yes.
Alex Earl
Would you do Traders?
Simone
I would absolutely do traitors. Would you do Traders?
Alex Earl
Yes.
Simone
Oh, my God. Could you imagine us all?
Alex Earl
Can we do it together?
Simone
Who's out there? The universe? Please. Listen, put us on Traders.
Alex Earl
Okay. Would you want to be a trader? Would you want to be a faithful?
Simone
I would definitely want to be a trader. I don't. The whole guessing game thing of being, like, having to analyze, psychoanalyze every little thing would drive me nuts. I think you would actually put me in psychosis. I think I would leave in a straight jacket. They'd be like, they have to get. We have to get Simone. We gotta put her in the psych ward here. They can't even ship her home. We have to just put her in right now. So now you wanna do the lid?
Alex Earl
Yeah.
Simone
Okay. So this is what I find is easiest. Like get the clean is that I'll do like the concealer again and I'll etch out the shape that you want.
Alex Earl
This is a really good concealer.
Simone
Stunning.
Alex Earl
I don't know if I've had that before, but it was nice.
Simone
It's lovely. I usually just put like a dab or two on the lid and then you can. And trust me, that's more than enough with that. And you can move it around and cut out the shape that you want.
Alex Earl
Oh, I can use this.
Simone
There we go. There we go. There we go. Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes. It's coming together. The Alex Earl eye.
Alex Earl
Honey, the Alex Earl eye is underway.
Simone
She's coming together. She's underway. This is what we have to do. Can I see your brush?
Alex Earl
Mm.
Simone
We're gonna give it a little spritz here.
Alex Earl
What is this?
Simone
So this helps it like stick to the lid a little bit better to the thing. And then I'll try to put it on. This should be a little bit better.
Alex Earl
Oh, wow.
Simone
Now she liquids and now she shines.
Alex Earl
What is that? Setting spray.
Simone
It's setting spray.
Alex Earl
Oh, nice.
Simone
Any old setting spray will do. Just get it wet. No pun intended. And get it wet, babe.
Alex Earl
Okay.
Simone
Gorgeous. See? So much better.
Alex Earl
Wow. She's a shining star.
Simone
She's a shining star. Look at that. Ooh. We could tweak down the eye too. That's fun.
Alex Earl
This looks fun.
Simone
Okay, so this, I'll take it and put it like in the center because it's really, really pretty here. Uh huh. Is it working? My contacts are messing me up.
Alex Earl
It is, it is.
Simone
See, look at that. And how beautiful.
Alex Earl
Shine.
Simone
That's a secret weapon though. You should. If your makeup artist doesn't have that, you should get that one because it has the gold and the silver in it. So urban decay, Moon dust.
Alex Earl
I'm on it.
Simone
Shout out. Urban decay, Moondust. And what I usually do, I start in the center and I usually do like this here, this side.
Alex Earl
Watching, noting.
Simone
And I go on the edge to the outside. Because this helps me really get the shape that I want and how high I want to go. So I'll go this way and I'll take it down to. There's a point at this corner of your eye, and I take it all the way down here, and then I'll go all the way out like that. This like so. And don't worry if it's too thick. We can clean it up later when we put our foundation and concealer on.
Alex Earl
Yours looks so, like, sharp and nice in mine.
Simone
We're gonna get her. We're like. Cause I love a cat eye. I like a feline. I like a severe eye.
Alex Earl
I like anything that goes out because my eyes are sort of close together. So if I do anything inwards, it's
Simone
like, it looks like your eyes are right here. We always. What I've learned about the feminine thing, you always want to elongate and, like, lift up, you know, it's coming together. It's coming together.
Alex Earl
I want to HEAR More about RuPaul's Drag Race.
Simone
What do you want to know, my love?
Alex Earl
What was your biggest takeaway from the experience?
Simone
Ooh, my biggest takeaway. Probably to be more confident in myself. Like, just, like, trust myself more. Because when you're in there, you're all alone, like, you get to prepare your package as far as, like, what you bring to the show.
Alex Earl
Yeah.
Simone
And how you want to present yourself, even challenges. You have to trust the choices that you make, and you have to, like, go on instinct and, like, just be okay with it working or not. And so I learned to, like, trust myself and, like, have a little bit more confidence. It helped me in that way a lot because I didn't have anyone else to fall back on. I didn't have anyone. Yeah. As far as, like, someone I trusted being like, is this a good idea? Should I do this? You know? So, like, I just had to really trust myself.
Alex Earl
That's fun, though.
Simone
Yeah, it is fun. I mean, obviously I'm here. I got this, I got this, I got this, honey. So I think that was kind of like my biggest takeaway. And like, I kind of had, like a self deprecating look at myself, and it made me like, I'm not crying. My contacts are getting. I promise this is an open space. I'm not crying. I promise. And so by the end of it, I was like, you know, just more with it. I was like, oh, girl, you're a bad bitch. You know, like, you're not what that person you thought you were, you know? So, like, it's just confidence.
Alex Earl
I love that. Yeah, the tears are really bringing.
Simone
The real ears are really coming. I promise I am not crying. It is my contact trailer crying. Let's drink to that.
Alex Earl
Do you think you got better more?
Simone
Oh, for sure. I think I got better in myself. And I also, like, saw other perspectives, like, how to do other things. Like, sometimes you think your way is the way. I learned a lot from everyone around me. I definitely would say I went in more headstrong in the sense of, like, this is how I'm gonna do it. Long way to say I played a little bit more. By the end of it, I felt safer to do. So.
Alex Earl
Did you make friends with anyone?
Simone
I did. I did. I still talked to Kandy. I still talked to Mick Denali. I still talked to her.
Alex Earl
Was it, like, beefy there at the time, or was it, like, a fun in there?
Simone
It was really fun because we were girls in the same fishbowl, so, like, we were just having fun and having a good time. Like, there were obviously moments that people got into it, but it wasn't like we hated each other, you know, I think it was more of like, we're in this for 18 hours a day, and you're annoying me. Make a shake out with you gyrated on the chair. Oh, my God. Gyrating on the chair.
Alex Earl
Okay. High eyes.
Simone
High eyes. Oh, see? See? I like it. The eyeliner is lovely, right?
Alex Earl
It's great.
Simone
It makes you feel lovely. Makes you feel.
Alex Earl
I'm a pro.
Simone
Yeah, you're a girl.
Alex Earl
You know, I actually just saw someone using this and said it was their favorite foundation. And then I was meaning to get it.
Simone
It's stunning work. It makes your skin look like skin. Like, it doesn't look like you have foundation on, but it. But it hides everything, if that makes sense.
Alex Earl
Oh, wow. It has a lot of coverage.
Simone
It does, doesn't it? Well, it says medium to full, but I'm like, oh, my girl. That's a Kim Kardashian full moment, honey.
Alex Earl
Wow. I'm, like, getting a whole new.
Simone
A whole new level of skin, right? Isn't it fierce?
Alex Earl
Hi, skin.
Simone
How are you? Oh, my God. I'm on my last leg of this one, too.
Alex Earl
Like, I feel like a lot of your Stuff it looks like tried and true.
Simone
Yes. When it comes to face things, when I find something, I stick with it. Cause doing my face is my favorite part of my makeup. I hate doing eyes, which is why I do it first. When I find a good foundation or concealer or something, I'm like, oh, honey, we have to keep her. We have to remember her. Let me see. Okay. We feel a little beautiful, beautiful, gorgeous. Second skin, babe.
Alex Earl
This is under the eyes.
Simone
Under the eyes, under the eyes.
Alex Earl
Like, where am I going now with my full beat on?
Simone
Right? Where are we going? Do we go to this lunch? What do we do?
Alex Earl
Okay, I have some questions in here too, that we can pull out and just ask each other.
Simone
What kind of questions are these in
Alex Earl
our magical cake box?
Simone
Are these hard hitting?
Alex Earl
Okay, let's see.
Simone
Okay.
Alex Earl
What's the most unhinged wellness thing you do?
Simone
Unhinged wellness thing that I do? Probably sleep for long periods of time.
Alex Earl
You big sleeper.
Simone
I love sleeping. I love it. I think people should invest in that more.
Alex Earl
Yeah, I don't.
Simone
You don't sleep. Are you a big sleeper? Not a big sleeper.
Alex Earl
No, no, I'm okay.
Simone
Well, no, you said you were out till 6am so. No, you're not a big sleeper.
Alex Earl
I know, but I feel like it also makes you more beautiful. I need to get on it.
Simone
It does. And the bags under the eyes, Mama. There's only so much concealer can do. And I'm like, this one's pretty. I mean, she's getting us together.
Alex Earl
But, you know, I like sleeping, so I won't really sleep. And then like one day a month, I sleep like 16 hours. Oh, my God.
Simone
Cause your body's like. Ma'? Am? Ma'? Am?
Alex Earl
Hello? Please stop.
Simone
Please stop it. You're running us ragged. But I mean, I feel like it's working out for you. So I don't know. I don't know if. I don't know if we're really having room to talk over here. Look at this beautiful set. Honey, do you have an unhinged wellness?
Alex Earl
I don't think it's like unhinged, but I do. Lymphatic drainage massage.
Simone
Okay, I've heard of this. And what is what? I don't do it. Get me alone.
Alex Earl
It's game changer. It's game changer.
Simone
Why is it game changer?
Alex Earl
Because she just like beats the shit out of you and like, it just somehow like makes you less bloated.
Simone
Do you feel like you lost like five pounds?
Alex Earl
She puts a balm on me, wraps me In Saran Wrap. Puts me in this heated, like, blanket. So you sweat while she works on your face. Beating your face, beating your face, beating your face, then rips it off. You're drenched in sweat. And then she beats your legs, beats your stomach, beats your back. I swear to God, it's the best
Simone
I've heard of it. But I'm like, it kind of scares me.
Alex Earl
How long does a full drag beat take?
Simone
I've gotten it down to, like, an hour and a half. I can do my face in an hour and a half if I have the time that I want. And I'm like, you're asking me, how much time do you need? I'm gonna be like, I'm gonna be like, two and a half hours.
Alex Earl
Really?
Simone
Cause I like to sit, I like to marinate, like to drink my water. I'll have, like, a podcast on or my music on. Cause I can't get ready in silence.
Alex Earl
It's an event.
Simone
It's insane. It is an event. It's an. You're getting together. You're bringing out your character. So you have to, like, really, like, delve into it. So I like to give myself, like, an hour, two hours. Two and a half hours. Two and a half.
Alex Earl
Three.
Simone
Three. I feel like three. That's when people are like, oh, she's diva. So I'm like, two and a half sounds like two. Like, you have the two, and everyone expects that. And then the half is like, oh, she's like, on her way to diva, but she's not quite there, you know? And then I'll just take three hours.
Alex Earl
Is this your tried and true?
Simone
This is my tried and true. The Espresso Fenty Beauty. She gets me together every time.
Alex Earl
So excited. I'm trying out new products.
Simone
This is really fun because you can control it a little bit more.
Alex Earl
It's like a very satisfying.
Simone
It is. And you can put it exactly where you want. And I Usually when I do my nose, I'll put it right down the middle. That's crazy. But I'll show you why in a minute.
Alex Earl
What's something about yourself you wish more people paid attention to?
Simone
Oh, wow.
Alex Earl
Deep question or I guess an underlying characteristic about yourself that you feel like goes unnoticed.
Simone
It goes unnoticed. I'm quite sensitive, believe it or not. And it's very. I'll do things and then not like to be told that I'm doing it. But then I'm like, how do I say this? What am I trying to say?
Alex Earl
Like. Like, can't take criticism.
Simone
I can, but there's a way you do it. You see what I'm saying? But I wish people knew a little bit more how sensitive I am that I take. Words are very important to me, and I try to choose my words very carefully with people. And I wish that that was reciprocated a little bit more. Just my sensitivity, you know?
Alex Earl
Are you into astrology?
Simone
I am.
Alex Earl
What's your sign?
Simone
I'm a Capricorn.
Alex Earl
Or do you have. I'm a Sagittarius.
Simone
You're sag. Very fierce. Fire. When's your birthday?
Alex Earl
In December. Who are two real life people you'd like to see lip sync their lives?
Simone
That's a good question. I love. I'm kind of obsessing over Teyana Taylor right now. And I know that she's a dancer.
Alex Earl
Yes.
Simone
So she would be really fun to see lip sync. And who do we all love and know and love that way we could just look, love and see them lip sync too. Sean Taylor versus, like, like a Jane Fonda or something, you know, like that. Like, that would be fun.
Alex Earl
Okay, so you place your blush a little bit higher.
Simone
I place mine, like, right under the eye. Because this is. I love. And I'll show you. I do two. So I do this one here right under. Get her together. It also helps, like, pull everything forward, pull everything up, and I'll blend it in here. This is also very pigmented. Elf. Shout out Again. Stun. Oh, wow, look at that. Isn't that crazy work?
Alex Earl
That looks beautiful.
Simone
Thank you. Okay, we do this here. I like looking presentable. I like putting a look together. I like really looking nice or, like, you know, or looking or realizing a look. That's kind of like one of my favorite parts of drag. Cause I feel like I have a very distinct way of. Distinct particular point of view, whatever, A way of expressing myself. So, like, to, like, see something and, like, collaborate with friends and, like, us all getting a look together and like, also everyone having their own point of view on the idea and, like, all of it coming together. That's a really fun aspect of drag that I think is.
Alex Earl
Do you control a lot of the creative with that?
Simone
I wouldn't say control. I have. I'm part of a house.
Alex Earl
Can you explain the houses?
Simone
I sure can. So it comes from. It's from ballroom culture. And it's like, you know, back in the day when you would get kicked out for being gay or trans or what have you, you would form a house, you and your friends, and you would like, I have a house. Mother and your sisters. Your brother, what have you. But we are kind of more like, it's more of a creative collective and we all, we're all from Arkansas, we all met in Arkansas, some of us grew up together, some of us met later. It's like your people, your chosen family, that's the best way of expressing it. Like people that you can lean on, whether it's creative, whether it's emotional, whether it's personal and just like walk through life together, you know, we all live together. Like I live like my friend Grant you met earlier. He lives. We all live in the same building, we have a studio, we work together, we play together. So it's just a nice thing to have, especially in la.
Alex Earl
That's so fun.
Simone
Yeah, it's really nuts that we've known each other this long.
Alex Earl
Oh, I forgot to ask this. What is something you wish you could tell your 13 year old self?
Simone
My 13 year old. 13 year old Reggie child. What would I tell 13 year old Reggie? There's a couple things I would tell him, but I would tell him to not be so scared, not to be so shy. There's nothing wrong with you. Have more confidence yourself. Trust yourself a little bit more. Be more inquisitive as far as what's going on around you. Like ask like you know why, but ask why makes your parents be like, we don't have to like treat him like that. Just stand up for yourself a little bit more. Like there's nothing wrong with you. So you know, just be more vocal, I think and not be so damn shy and not feel like you're gonna hurt anyone's feelings or anything for just speaking your mind. Like you needed someone and they weren't there. So say it. That's what I'll say. What about you?
Alex Earl
I would say just to like keep going, keep going. Have a little bit more confidence. Yeah, I think it's like just look back at myself and like I just, I think I doubted myself. Thirteen was also like a really weird age.
Simone
Yeah.
Alex Earl
I feel like I was like, what is that?
Simone
Like, is that seventh, eighth grade? When is that?
Alex Earl
Seventh grade I think sounds great. Like I just was not getting along with anyone at school. Like I was having a hard time like fitting in. I wish I could tell her, like, you're fine, keep going, like, but you know, it makes us who we are.
Simone
Makes us who we are. It makes us who we are. And guess what? We probably wouldn't be here if we didn't do it, that exactly 13 year old thing. So you know.
Alex Earl
Exactly. But I think it's important, like, for people who are younger out there to hear. I have younger siblings and I always try to tell them, like, just keep going, keep going.
Simone
It's not. And also, like, you're perfect. You think you're perfect, you're beautiful.
Alex Earl
And you also think everything is like the end of the world.
Simone
Yes. Everything is not. It's not permanent. Yes, yes. It feels like it will never end. Like all of that. Okay, so for contour, this is wild. But I. Well, not wild. People do it. I go in with an eyeshadow. For contour. Contours.
Alex Earl
You go in with an eyeshadow.
Simone
I go with eyeshadow. Babe, take this lovely little brush here. I stick her in. Stick her in how many days? And. And just go in the perimeter.
Alex Earl
Oh, nice.
Simone
It's just lovely. Who is your dream person to collab with? Ooh, that's a good one. Because you got to put out the universe. You have to manifest.
Alex Earl
Lady Gaga.
Simone
Oh, I love her. Really? Are you a monster?
Alex Earl
I am. Are you?
Simone
Oh, my God, I am. I am. Especially after this last album.
Alex Earl
I'm like, did you see her show?
Simone
I did. We went to go see it. I think I saw it three times.
Alex Earl
It's so good.
Simone
Yeah, it was a. I've gone twice. No, no, no. Okay, so yes, it was three total. So I did. No, four actually. Three here. And then I did Coachella.
Alex Earl
She was insane at Coachella.
Simone
Incredible.
Alex Earl
Did you leave? When? The first time she, like, pretended like she was done and then she came back on.
Simone
No, no, because I saw. I went weekend too, so I knew it was coming. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Alex Earl
I heard her go back on and I ran back in.
Simone
Are you kidding me?
Alex Earl
She just went back on. We're running back in.
Simone
Be like, sorry, girls, I. Your mother?
Alex Earl
Yes.
Simone
You know her? You know her.
Alex Earl
That's my tried and true.
Simone
That's your tried and true, honey.
Alex Earl
I mean, seriously, like, girl, look at that. The only reason I haven't gone under the knife here yet.
Simone
Would you ever.
Alex Earl
For a nose job?
Simone
Uh huh.
Alex Earl
I don't know.
Simone
Or anything. Would you ever do anything?
Alex Earl
Oh, yeah. Over. Sure.
Simone
Oh yeah.
Alex Earl
I did my boobs.
Simone
What?
Alex Earl
When? I think I was 21 at the time. It was like as soon as I like got the money to do it myself, I was like, bye.
Simone
I love that.
Alex Earl
My parents were like, absolutely not.
Simone
Like, they weren't paying for it, but they were like, if you want to, you can. But we're not.
Alex Earl
I mean, they weren't like, if you want to, you can. My mom was like, if you do this, I'm not going to be there for you. And then she was.
Simone
And then she was like, of course she was.
Alex Earl
Yeah.
Simone
Come on.
Alex Earl
I woke up from surgery and was like. I looked and I was like. I started bawling my eyes out. I was like, I should have done. This is crazy.
Simone
That is my girl. I love that. Like, I should be big. Would you ever do, like, there's a girl. Wait, I have to show you. Where's my phone? This is Drag Me. Her name is Fantasia and she has the biggest knockers ever. Shout outs.
Alex Earl
Let me see.
Simone
You have to. They're so big
Alex Earl
in there. In there. That's implants.
Simone
Yes.
Alex Earl
Holy fuck. See? Like, how do you do? Like, how do you.
Simone
I don't know how she does it, but she says she's like, her back doesn't hurt. She feels great. She looks so good.
Alex Earl
Oh, well, I love that.
Simone
Oh, my God. If you ever are in Vegas and you ever want to go to a drag show and she's there, you should go. She's really great. Really shout to you.
Alex Earl
Fantastic. I love Vegas.
Simone
Have you been to a drag show?
Alex Earl
Yes, I have been back.
Simone
Oh, okay. Okay, Okay. I was gonna say we're about to take you. There's one tonight if you want to go. Okay, that's perfect.
Alex Earl
Added to our list of things to do while we're hanging out, I'm gonna have you do my lashes.
Simone
Ooh. Okay.
Alex Earl
With a fun little.
Simone
You're giving me trust. You're giving me trust. Okay, well, let me put my mask on before I put on yours.
Alex Earl
Okay. I'm not sure.
Simone
You know what? Let me get together.
Alex Earl
It'll be fun.
Simone
It'll be so fun.
Alex Earl
Do you ever sleep in your makeup?
Simone
I have one time when I've had to, like, fly early or if I had to do an event that's early the next day and I had to be in Dragon, especially when I was doing it before the show.
Alex Earl
You did it to go to the event. Oh, wow.
Simone
Because it just takes so long, you know, I like to take two hours, girl. So sometimes it'd be like you have to go to bed and then pride is the next day or something. Yeah, I've done that before. And sometimes I've woken up and half my face is gone. And sometimes it works. I don't know. You just gotta go with God. Wow.
Alex Earl
Okay, so you just did that in, like, two seconds. It took me 45 minutes to put on one little rinky Dink lash last
Simone
night when I first started, that was Me? Cause I was like, speaking of good looks, what's up?
Alex Earl
I have a little fuck Mary, kill game.
Simone
Okay, cool. Okay. Oh, shit. You're gonna take me down memory lane. Let's do it.
Alex Earl
I'm really excited.
Simone
Let's do it.
Alex Earl
Okay. So fuck Mary kill.
Simone
Okay. Oh, oh, oh.
Alex Earl
These are our three contenders.
Simone
That's awful. All of these are stunning. Oh, that's hard. Those are stunning.
Alex Earl
I know.
Simone
Mary, like.
Alex Earl
Mary, like, who are you gonna be
Simone
in, like, if I could just show up every day. Oh, her. This is her. This is, like. It's so chill, but so cunt. This is stunning. I would marry her.
Alex Earl
Okay.
Simone
Jeremy, don't kill me. Jeremy, don't kill me. Please don't kill me. This is Moschino. I love you, Jeremy. This is the first time the world saw me. And so I would fuck her. She's great. Look at. Look at that skin. Look at that hair. Honey. I had a girl on there. All that meant the jewelry. Yeah. I'm going to marry her, fuck her, and I'm gonna have to kill her. Only because all of these are. These are two really, really, really strong looks. This is the beginning, and that was the end of that journey. So, like, we turned that out. Oh, honey, that was hard. That was hard. That was like choosing a child. Take a drink. It's okay. I took a drink. Okay.
Alex Earl
Take a drink. It'll make it better.
Simone
It was stressful. I think that's straight, right? Am I wont.
Alex Earl
No.
Simone
No. Okay.
Alex Earl
That looks good.
Simone
Thank you.
Alex Earl
But I don't know. I might be wonked.
Simone
These contacts are for aesthetic not looking good.
Alex Earl
Look at these lashes.
Simone
They're good, right? Ooh, you got good. You got drag lash. I love that.
Alex Earl
You know what I have to say is I like this eyeliner.
Simone
It's nice, right?
Alex Earl
Like, I feel like it really opens up my face.
Simone
And don't you feel ferocious doing it?
Alex Earl
I felt like it was very dramatic, but now I'm like, I don't think I could wear this out.
Simone
Oh, no, you could wear that out.
Alex Earl
Don't use makeup. I love Zara Larson. Insanity.
Simone
Such good work. The color plays.
Alex Earl
It looks like a. I was gonna say a Mozart painting. It's not an artist.
Simone
She's our Mozart. She's our. She is our Margaret. Mozart. Picasso.
Alex Earl
That's what I was going for.
Simone
There we go. She's. That's. It's beautiful. The colors, the little. Little stones that she put the jewels she puts on her face, which usually I'm like. But it looks really good on her. You have a great nose. I like your nose. It sounds like my thing.
Alex Earl
Like natural noses, you're saying?
Simone
Or are you just any nose that, like. I love a nose. It's weird. It's kind of weird, huh? Thank you. I like arms and noses on guys. So if I see a good nose on someone, even if they don't like
Alex Earl
it, I'm like, I've never heard anyone say nose.
Simone
I know. It's kind of weird, huh? It's kind of weird. But I do. I'm like, he has a.
Alex Earl
Do you even know it's kink.
Simone
Kinda, maybe. Am I learning something about myself today? Maybe. Gross.
Alex Earl
And with that, we have learned I
Simone
have a nose kink.
Alex Earl
Okay, so here's the lashes.
Simone
Oh, beautiful.
Alex Earl
Okay, here's the glue.
Simone
Okay.
Alex Earl
And there's just one little thing.
Simone
What's your one little thing that I'm
Alex Earl
gonna have you do while you put those on me.
Simone
Wonderful.
Alex Earl
And I think it's gonna be really fun.
Simone
I'm excited.
Alex Earl
We're gonna have you put these on.
Simone
Oh, bitch.
Alex Earl
Okay, we're gonna Upside down goggles.
Simone
Okay.
Alex Earl
Just, you know, you're too good at this.
Simone
So we just need to give the audience something to like. Okay.
Alex Earl
Okay. Strap those on. Do you need help?
Simone
Maybe a little bit. Yeah.
Alex Earl
See, here we go. It's like you have done this beautiful makeup, and then I'm like.
Simone
And then you sabotage me in this manner.
Alex Earl
Oh.
Simone
Oh, my God. I'm in the upside down. Oh, my God. Let me see.
Alex Earl
Hi.
Simone
That's insane. Alex. Okay, okay, okay, okay.
Alex Earl
Yep. Let's get to work.
Simone
Let's get to it.
Alex Earl
And so we're gonna do this in a minute.
Simone
Oh, my God. Okay.
Alex Earl
Okay. So ready, set, go.
Simone
Okay.
Alex Earl
Okay. I have faith in you.
Simone
I have. I do too. Okay, question mark.
Alex Earl
Ordering in or going out?
Simone
Ordering in.
Alex Earl
Meeting on apps or in real life?
Simone
Ooh. Depends on what we're. What. The end goal is apparent.
Alex Earl
Mm. Runway or red carpet?
Simone
To walk or to watch?
Alex Earl
To watch, I guess. To walk.
Simone
Red carpet.
Alex Earl
To walk.
Simone
To walk.
Alex Earl
I don't know.
Simone
Ooh, red carpet.
Alex Earl
Both sweet or savory? Here, let me help you. Glue.
Simone
Glue. Thank you. I was like, I can't look down. Nothing is. Nothing works for me.
Alex Earl
It's not moving.
Simone
Okay, this is the top.
Alex Earl
Here we go.
Simone
Okay. I'm so scared, Alex. I'm so scared.
Alex Earl
No, you've got this.
Simone
I can't even.
Alex Earl
I mean,
Simone
I'm so scared, Alex. Okay. You are crazy for doing this to me. Okay.
Alex Earl
Wow.
Simone
Is it the band? It's the Band.
Alex Earl
No, you're getting it for sure.
Simone
Okay.
Alex Earl
It's definitely almost there.
Simone
Sweet, sweet, sweet. Answer your questions.
Alex Earl
Sweet. I mean, you are doing a fabulous job.
Simone
I'm doing something. Girl. Something is happening.
Alex Earl
We only got like 20 seconds.
Simone
Oh, my God. Okay, where's your feet?
Alex Earl
We gotta get going. Give me that good lash.
Simone
You have it?
Alex Earl
Do you have it? We did it. Oh, it's so beautiful.
Simone
I can't wait to see the fridge. Wow.
Alex Earl
I'm excited to have this touch.
Simone
You're beautiful. You're stunning.
Alex Earl
I love it.
Simone
My baby.
Alex Earl
Listen.
Simone
I got it on your face.
Alex Earl
Are those things.
Simone
That's insane.
Alex Earl
You were coasting like. This is just the best day ever.
Simone
This is really fun. Thank you so much for having me.
Alex Earl
Oh, my gosh. Thank you so much.
Simone
This was a lovely get ready.
Alex Earl
And we have more to do.
Simone
And we have more to do. Oh, wait. Should we do a shot to end this?
Alex Earl
Yes.
Simone
They're here, so we might as well use them, right? I think so.
Alex Earl
I think we should.
Simone
I think so. I didn't see. I did not think. I did not know you were a drinker. And had I known this, I would have like. Wow. I'm so excited for us.
Alex Earl
Wait, so where do you go out here?
Simone
It depends.
Alex Earl
Do you ever go out in WeHo?
Simone
I do. And then sometimes we'll do Silver Lake. And then of course, you know, like the events that we do and things like that. But.
Alex Earl
Okay. Well, maybe we could go out.
Simone
I would love that. Please.
Alex Earl
I have a lot of things that I need you to come to with me.
Simone
I would absolutely come with you. We will be each other wings personally.
Alex Earl
Okay.
Simone
Cheers to that.
Alex Earl
I'm flop away with these wings on my face.
Simone
Wings. It's not just Red Bull that gives you wings.
Alex Earl
It's Simone.
Simone
Wow. Yes.
Alex Earl
Simone said put lashes on your cheeks.
Simone
On your cheeks. It accentuates. It makes them go higher.
Alex Earl
Yeah, I like it.
Simone
Gorgeous.
Alex Earl
Love you.
Simone
I love you. Thank you so much.
Alex Earl
Hey, sorry to interrupt your playlist, but this is better than music.
