What do you have to say about swingers? I'm wondering, what are your opinions? Why pineapple?
Olivia
I feel like they really took that. I'm like, man, I love pineapples.
Alona
But it's pineapple upside down.
Olivia
Is that right? That's the symbol. I feel like there will be a time when you are married and you ran into a swinger. And that is. You're gonna have to decide.
Alona
You're gonna have to.
Becca Bastos
You guys are gonna have to decide if you wanna swing. Listen, if I'm 40 years in the marriage and I'm a little bored, honey, swing me around.
Alona
I'm at pineapple.
Olivia
Welcome or welcome back to House of Mar Wave Original. Today's episode is presented by Facebook, Marketplace and Bridgerton. For every listing there's a story. Jump off your pilates performer and help yourself to whatever's in the fridge. The WI fi password is ludalphase, all caps. You should know that we have a few house rules here.
Alona
Girls are magic, Reading is hot and so are you.
Olivia
Today we have our arms out, so if you want to see that on YouTube, go have a look. Adriana says she has new 8 pound weights in her room, so that is probably why.
Alona
Come see progress. Tune in for the after. Our fourth mar sister is an insanely funny actress, comedian and content creator who you may know as your eccentric pilates instructor, overworked Long island mom, or the down and out elf on the shelf. Her videos are a masterclass in chaotic character work. But behind the scenes, she's a self described type a planner who scripts every single line. She's the creative mind behind the characters you send to your group chat. And she gave a voice to your luteal phase. She is a darling friend of mine and now she's officially our sister. Welcome to the family, Becca Bastos.
Becca Bastos
Yay. Thank you for having me, guys. This is really strong for me. This is powerful to be amongst you guys.
Adriana
This is powerful.
Alona
Did we leave anything out?
Becca Bastos
I mean, no. Can you be in my pocket all the time? It's nice.
Alona
Who wrote that? Got you, girl. I got you, girl.
Olivia
It's cool that your legacy is luteal phase.
Becca Bastos
I'm fine with that. I got comments recently like, you taught me what the phases are are.
Alona
I'm like, whoa, I saw that. Women are learning.
Becca Bastos
Women are learning because like, I see your videos.
Alona
I'm like, that's so funny. I don't know when that is for me, but period.
Becca Bastos
But also changes so much. Like, if your cycle's regular, then that's great.
Olivia
But yeah, Personally, what is your favorite phase? Is it the luteal? Okay.
Becca Bastos
I love personally, I'm an ovulation girl. I kill myself the most then. But follicular, Like I'm glowing and productive.
Olivia
Which one's right after your period?
Becca Bastos
Right after your period is follicular.
Olivia
That's mine.
Becca Bastos
That the best.
Olivia
I love it.
Becca Bastos
You're lifting?
Olivia
I'm. I'm doing like 12 pull ups at once. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You get me into other phases. 3.
Becca Bastos
Well, more than me. That's more than I can do. But yeah, it's really nice.
Olivia
Anybody else's?
Adriana
I like two weeks after my period. So what is. Is that maybe ovulation?
Becca Bastos
No. No. Yeah, I guess ovulation.
Olivia
Obviously we need. I need to do more research on this.
Alona
I'm not liking ovulation because I feel like a caged.
Becca Bastos
Like a werewolf.
Alona
Like a werewolf under the full moon. Tie me up. Really?
Becca Bastos
I can't be out in public for too long.
Alona
No.
Olivia
Scary.
Alona
You see like a forearm. Yeah.
Becca Bastos
For me it's an ankle.
Alona
Oh, wow.
Becca Bastos
What does it about men's ankles do?
Olivia
I don't know.
Alona
That's quite true.
Adriana
I don't know if I've ever noticed one.
Becca Bastos
You never noticed one?
Adriana
I've never noticed an ankle.
Becca Bastos
Take a look next time. If it's like. It's like pants legs showing a little bit sock, like a little bit of a.
Adriana
You would have done really well. In the 1800s.
Olivia
I was gonna say that literally.
Alona
Yeah, that's what a mustache today. And I was like, okay.
Olivia
Like out in the wild.
Alona
Just a mustache out in the wild. It's been a wild team. So, yeah, ovulation is not doing it for me. So let's go.
Becca Bastos
And I just finished. Heated rivalry. Oh, in auvu.
Alona
That great.
Olivia
Finished in avu.
Alona
I finished in aviu.
Adriana
You have to watch it in each phase and see like what phase impacts.
Alona
You more, what resonates.
Becca Bastos
I should. That's a good experiment.
Olivia
That is so funny. All right, well, let's get into a little segment we like to call group chat. We just chat in the group and whatever happens, you know, I'm saying, like, you can just talk about one thing and then another thing comes up. You know, online, it's been like the trend is 2016. What was. What was your 2016?
Becca Bastos
I'm not posting pictures from that because it's none of anyone's business. And you shouldn't be seeing me like that. I'm talking like hair straightened, like burnt to a crisp. This was. I think I was in college at this time, I forget what year I also thought I went back. I was like, this is gonna be fun to find. Funny content I was making. I was really, like, studious in college for no reason. And I was making time lapses of myself studying in the library. What's up? Who was gonna see that? Like, I'm watching back. It's like, do time lapse. Sipping coffee. Yeah, coffee, of course. So it's kind of stuff like that that I'm not really comfortable sharing.
Alona
I love it. Could we direct your attention to the screen just really quick? Perfect.
Becca Bastos
How did you go back that far? Okay, so the rumors are true. I was in Oklahoma, the musical campus. That's me. Okay, so the second picture is me jumping off a cliff with my college roommate. Landed so weirdly, I thought that I bruised my rib. Never did that again. And then the one on the. Yeah, that's me in the library.
Alona
Is that pre post time lapse? No, you.
Adriana
You're aging really well.
Becca Bastos
I never got a pony like that again.
Olivia
Never.
Becca Bastos
What's the caption? My greasy hair. What is it, Finals week? Ponytail.
Olivia
You did not want to spell out you. You were like, I don't have enough time. I have to do a time lapse.
Becca Bastos
Never do a time lapse. Yeah.
Olivia
What year did you graduate college?
Becca Bastos
2018.
Olivia
Okay, so what was that time lapse going on?
Becca Bastos
Am I studying? What was I studying for?
Olivia
Well, it was just like, the time lapse. Were you going to post it? Did you ever post.
Becca Bastos
No, of just for. That was just for me.
Adriana
To show your commitment to yourself?
Alona
Yeah.
Becca Bastos
I mean, it was stupid. Like, I really didn't have to be.
Adriana
What were you studying as well?
Becca Bastos
I was studying speech pathology and theater at the same time. And I knew I wasn't gonna do anything with speech. It was too boring. But it was really hard, and I studied.
Adriana
Hence the time lapses.
Becca Bastos
Hence the time lapses. Yeah.
Olivia
So you did that. But did you also do, like, theater?
Becca Bastos
I did theater.
Olivia
I feel like that would have been a good one. Or maybe you're just naturally good at it.
Becca Bastos
No. Yes.
Olivia
Okay.
Becca Bastos
I always done theater, like, growing up. And so my parents were like, well, no money in theater. And I was like, you guys are so right. Let me do speech therapy. Let me go ahead and pivot to speech. And I was miserable. And, like, the way. Only way to keep doing that was for me to double major in theater to have some kind of, like, relief outlet.
Alona
And look at you now.
Becca Bastos
And look at me now. Not using either. Well, well, you know, we're using theater.
Alona
A Little bit theatre.
Becca Bastos
Yes.
Adriana
And what are you doing right now? Speaking.
Becca Bastos
You're speaking? I was like, what am I doing right now? My heart start. I'm like, what am I doing right now? I'm thinking. I'm speaking. She's speaking. Have you guys seen Hamnet?
Alona
No, but she doesn't know anything about it.
Olivia
How does it win awards? Has it been in the theaters? Like, why did it win an award already? Were we watching it?
Becca Bastos
Did it win an award?
Olivia
Yes, it did. It won a Golden Globe for, like, best film of the year.
Alona
So I see billboards all over this city for whatever that.
Olivia
That's what I'm saying. It wasn't out, but I thought it.
Alona
Was, like, a Shakespeare play.
Becca Bastos
It is. You're close.
Adriana
You're close, you're close. I think it's about Shakespeare. Cause he wrote, famously, Hamlet.
Becca Bastos
Hamlet. Hamlet.
Olivia
Okay.
Alona
Hamlet.
Adriana
Is he writing Hamlet? Hamlet, yes. And so it's about Shakespeare writing it, I believe.
Becca Bastos
Oh, and Paul Mescal plays Shakespeare.
Olivia
That's what I wanted.
Becca Bastos
Yes.
Alona
So you're getting confirmations.
Becca Bastos
That was just a guess, but cool.
Alona
You guys, if somebody could tell us anything about it, would have believed it about that. You could have made that up.
Becca Bastos
Is it not?
Alona
Actually, no, it is.
Becca Bastos
It is.
Olivia
That's what it's about.
Adriana
People are loving it. And I had no idea he was in that. I keep an eye on his movements, and for him to have gone and.
Becca Bastos
Shot a whole movie.
Alona
Paul Mezcal. Better keep an eye out for her.
Becca Bastos
I was like, he did what now?
Adriana
I was like, I didn't hear a damn thing about it.
Alona
Interesting. Emily Henry was a guest, and she brought it up. We were all like, mm, I knew nothing. That one. Yes.
Becca Bastos
I keep an eye on his movements.
Alona
To keep his eye on his movement. Like, he shows an ankle. He shows a thigh. Sometimes he shows an upper thigh. Slutty Irish upper thigh. For real.
Becca Bastos
Little, tiny little shorts. Shorts.
Olivia
I feel like 2016 was a big year for, like, movies as well, though.
Alona
Yeah.
Olivia
Like Wahla land.
Alona
Was that 2016?
Becca Bastos
That was 2016.
Olivia
When you. Now, I've learned that as you start to say oh, things in the past, you have to add years onto it.
Becca Bastos
Like, it's.
Olivia
You think it's two years? It's actually four to five years.
Becca Bastos
Right. Well, guys, hello. High School Musical just celebrated its 20th anniversary.
Adriana
That's a lot for me.
Olivia
That only celebrates his 20th. Are you sure? Yep.
Adriana
Everywhere.
Olivia
Was i9 when that came out?
Becca Bastos
Probably, yeah.
Olivia
Oh, man. Vividly feels like I was older.
Adriana
Well, because there's two more Movies after it. So, like, stretch that time.
Alona
But it also was such a moment, like it propelled the Disney machine. So, like, that feels like everything to us.
Becca Bastos
Time is fleeting.
Alona
Time is fleeting.
Olivia
It's just going to keep passing, you know what I'm saying? Now that we're sitting here, I like.
Becca Bastos
This trend, though, of like going back and being like, what were you doing in 2016?
Alona
Yeah.
Becca Bastos
Why is it now? Why are we doing it now?
Adriana
And we didn't because 2016 was so, like, iconic. Everyone still talks about, like, oh, the summer of 2016.
Alona
Yeah.
Becca Bastos
What happened?
Adriana
What didn't happen?
Olivia
The chainsaws.
Becca Bastos
Okay.
Alona
The Olympics.
Olivia
Trump was real. Trump was elected that year, actually.
Alona
Whoa.
Olivia
Yeah, right?
Becca Bastos
I keep seeing everyone putting their voting stickers from them.
Olivia
Yeah.
Adriana
But it was like also the Snapchat of it all. All the filters, the dog ears, the flower crowns.
Alona
Vine died.
Olivia
Vine died in 2016.
Alona
Vine died in 2016. I have a Snapchat. I will give it to our producers here to put on the screen of Adrianna crying in a Snapchat she sent me and she said, when vine is.
Becca Bastos
Dead, that's a relic and it should be in a museum.
Alona
That's what I'm freaking saying.
Adriana
I loved Vine. I had it. A very bad addiction to it. Almost worse than my TikTok addiction.
Alona
Really?
Olivia
Really?
Adriana
Yeah. I remember one time I was in New York and I met up with one of Olivia and one of her old high school friends and he said he was like, I just remember how good you were at Vine. And I was like, oh, for an older peer to like, have remembered that. My legacy.
Becca Bastos
Wait, so you made them?
Adriana
Only a handful, but I will say.
Becca Bastos
I was pretty good.
Adriana
I really could have done something with it, but it just wasn't my moment.
Olivia
Becca, as a theater kid, could you make us like a six second vine right now? Like, what? As a content creator Problem.
Alona
Hurry, hurry, hurry, hurry, hurry. Yeah.
Olivia
Did you do Vine? What?
Becca Bastos
Yes, I did.
Alona
And now we have it. Pull it up.
Becca Bastos
Da, da da da da da.
Alona
That works.
Becca Bastos
I start dancing like a monkey. I did make them. They were not funny at all. I wanted to be it so bad. It was the moment.
Olivia
Right.
Becca Bastos
I was really devastated when that ended.
Alona
I remember continuing. I was also addicted to it. I was scrolling, scrolling, scrolling, scrolling. I was like, this is a sinking ship, but I won't get off of here. Like, I love it until they take this app away from my culture. Dead hands.
Olivia
I don't want to be better than everybody here, but I don't think I was addicted in that way.
Becca Bastos
Wow. Congrats.
Alona
Congrats.
Becca Bastos
Really cool for you.
Olivia
I don't even remember many of you.
Becca Bastos
What are you doing instead?
Alona
What do you mean you don't remember?
Olivia
What was I doing instead?
Becca Bastos
Reading Hamlet.
Olivia
Shoot.
Alona
Sad.
Adriana
Probably.
Becca Bastos
2016 was pretty sad. I was also vlogging for no one.
Olivia
Where can we find those?
Becca Bastos
On my phone.
Alona
They're in the camera roll.
Adriana
I was vlogging as well.
Becca Bastos
Really?
Olivia
Yeah.
Adriana
I did, because I was in Sweden studying abroad at that time. Okay, thank you. Yeah, yeah. I was doing bi weekly vlogs and I can look back at all of them.
Becca Bastos
You didn't post them anywhere?
Adriana
They're on YouTube, Adriana. Abroad.
Olivia
Check them out. Give a like and follow subscribe.
Adriana
Hit that subscribe button and the bell and I loved it.
Alona
But I look back and it's just like me panning.
Adriana
Every landscape goes through a different cut.
Becca Bastos
Horrible, of course.
Alona
But look at you now. Huh?
Adriana
Look at me now.
Alona
What were you doing? You were there in 2016.
Adriana
Yeah, 2016. And then I traveled. I did a big Euro tour with all, like, the exchange kids. And while everybody was doing this trends, I was like, let me look back at my 2016. So many photos of me dabbing across Europe.
Alona
It is actually terrible.
Becca Bastos
Dabbing across Europe.
Adriana
Yep. Dabbing across Europe, like in front of the Eiffel Tower in the streets of Venice.
Becca Bastos
Horrible.
Adriana
Also what we called papa blessing, which is like, when you'd crouch down and like, what is that?
Becca Bastos
What was that called? And people would do it, like, widespread squat as well.
Adriana
Littered my social media.
Olivia
Littered. What do you call it? Pop a blessing.
Adriana
Pop a blessing.
Alona
Pop a blessing. Not poppa.
Adriana
Papa.
Alona
Oh.
Becca Bastos
Oh, it's a man. Maybe you think it's papa.
Adriana
That's what we called it. We were a papa blessing. It probably was that, but we just quickened it. You know, that's how language evolves.
Becca Bastos
We're doing this for papa Blessing.
Olivia
Yeah.
Alona
Papa blessing.
Becca Bastos
Do you remember planking? I think that was before 2016.
Alona
But it. I think people have been including it in their dumps. But I never. I don't think I was.
Adriana
I feel like that was 2012, 2014.
Alona
Yeah. I think it had many moments and was 2016.
Adriana
The cut, crease, eye look.
Alona
Probably it was the Anastasia brows. Anastasia brows and all that stuff. Morphe palettes, right?
Becca Bastos
Yeah. Oh, my God.
Olivia
Did you ever do the crazy contour or, like, were you ever a makeup girl?
Becca Bastos
I still have no idea what contour means for me and my family at this time.
Adriana
I try.
Becca Bastos
Like, I have, like, one. Is it what's that called bronzer? Bronzer. And I just know you're supposed to do it where the sun hits. I'm like, okay, the sun hits your whole face. And then it's just like, it looks like. So for a while, I was using a dark color that brand sent to me. I'm like, sure. Like, just, you know, here. And then I took. I went to Sephora. I was like, so, what's up? She's like, so that looks like dirt. And that's because that's the wrong color on you. It's a little too dark. I said, well, no one ever talk. Did you watch makeup tutorials?
Alona
Some kind of. Not really. Did you? I was.
Olivia
No, not really.
Alona
I was firmly in my, like, college, state college goblin era. Like, matte lipstick. Like, dark matte lipstick off brand. Not the Kylie Jenner cosmetics, please. I couldn't Bud Light drinking it with straws. That's why I haven't. I haven't posted a dump yet of 2016. I just don't think it's right for me at this time.
Olivia
I. In my bag, actually have a concealer stick from 2016 that I was just telling Olivia about.
Alona
Remember 2017?
Olivia
That was 27. Oh, sorry.
Becca Bastos
In 2027, I'll bring some that live on that.
Olivia
And it's from Olivia's pageant.
Adriana
Oh, my God.
Olivia
So she used it, and then she gave it.
Alona
She still had it.
Becca Bastos
Yeah.
Alona
I got a friend who knew a lot about makeup. Like, knew the new bronzer, knew the stuff. I made her bring me to an Ulta, and she was like, buy this, buy this, buy this. She was like, here's this stick. This stick did not match me. Love her. I'm so grateful to her, to this fucking day. Like, form the pageant, because it was supposed to be like, stage makeup. You know what I mean?
Olivia
And when I was done with it.
Alona
I was like, well, I'm never gonna use that again. And I gave it to her.
Olivia
I just showed her this weekend.
Alona
It's kind of gross that last weekend.
Olivia
That I still have that makeup stick in my bag.
Becca Bastos
Do you guys. This is a safe space. It's really beautiful in here, and I feel safe. But do you guys wash your makeup brushes?
Alona
I just thought about it this morning. I held up my. My blush one. I went, I should try cleaning these for once in my life.
Becca Bastos
Don't smell it. Is all I'll say.
Alona
No way.
Becca Bastos
Damn that. It's like, attic.
Alona
I've never. It smells like an attic.
Becca Bastos
It's just like, oh, you're like, this has been used and like this. This needs some washing.
Adriana
It's.
Olivia
Yeah. And did you wash it?
Becca Bastos
No, not yet.
Olivia
Okay.
Becca Bastos
I have to buy a product, right? Like, I don't. You have to buy a cleaner.
Olivia
And then, you know, I feel like you use anything. You have to, like. Yeah.
Alona
Agitate it, maybe.
Olivia
It looks like a ginger grater almost.
Adriana
You have to, like.
Alona
I think that's capitalism just trying to get you to buy something.
Adriana
You can use your hands.
Olivia
She says her thing smells like an addict.
Alona
Okay, addict.
Adriana
Or addict.
Olivia
You think that's capitalism or should she just wash her brushes?
Alona
That's what I'm saying. She doesn't need the fancy brush.
Becca Bastos
Guys, I'm making excuses. I know. I could run it under the damn faucet.
Alona
I'm gonna put it in the dishwasher at this point.
Becca Bastos
My problem, though, is that, like, you.
Adriana
Season them, you know, because then after you clean them, it's gotta absorb some of the product so it doesn't take it all off.
Alona
That's what I'm saying.
Adriana
And they are perfectly seasoned.
Becca Bastos
Yeah, it's like those pan. What's that pan called?
Alona
A cast iron.
Becca Bastos
Yeah. Oh, my God. Another thing. You have to season a thing and then you don't wash it.
Alona
Yeah.
Becca Bastos
That sounds like a wild.
Alona
She can't get on board. No. Fleabag also came out in 2016.
Adriana
Changed my life.
Becca Bastos
That was big for me.
Alona
That was big for you?
Becca Bastos
I think I'm gonna rewatch it.
Alona
Do it.
Becca Bastos
Bad mental health indicator for me is when I want to rewatch normal people, but it happens every January. Oh, it just. I passed, though.
Olivia
Okay.
Becca Bastos
My friends talked me out of it.
Alona
This too shall pass. Pass.
Becca Bastos
But was that 2016? I feel like that had to have been then. When was that?
Alona
That was more like 2018. 2019. 2019.
Adriana
You guys watched that during the pandemic?
Alona
Oh, 21.
Olivia
2020.
Adriana
Cause I'm gonna.
Olivia
That'll be in 2030. We'll talk about that. Don't get ahead of yourself.
Becca Bastos
That'll be the 2030 episode.
Olivia
Okay.
Alona
Get it? Twist.
Olivia
I felt like, yeah, 2016. You had the Rio Olympics. Rugby was on the climb because Rio.
Alona
Was the first time rugby was in the Olympics. Yes.
Adriana
Gorgeous.
Olivia
Also, 2012 was a big year for me. I know where you're getting away from it, but for some reason, 2012.
Adriana
I'll go back after what was happening to you.
Olivia
There was a movie that came out, I think, called 2012. Am I wrong?
Becca Bastos
Wait, does anyone remember 2012? Wait, not the year, but, like, that event that was supposed to happen? I didn't tell you, there was supposed.
Olivia
To be a massive event, like the.
Alona
Mayan calendar ended or something.
Adriana
Oh, yes.
Olivia
And they made a whole movie.
Becca Bastos
Coney.
Alona
That was 2012. I thought that was 2012.
Becca Bastos
Yeah, Coney 2012. It was. Because I didn't do my homework that day. I was like, tomorrow is the day. Like, what makes me any better than those people who put like aluminum foil on their heads?
Alona
I remember watching that Facebook video and being. Oh, my God. Yeah, I remember where I was too. Yeah, Seeing the Coney video.
Olivia
We. Were you an athlete? Did you play any sports? Or were you classic theater kid?
Becca Bastos
No, I tried soccer because I had a pink and green soccer ball. Nike soccer balls. Really cute.
Alona
Wicked, Glinda.
Becca Bastos
Wicked. It was so wicked of me. I looked at that, I said, I have been changed. And no, no, I just always have done. Acting, singing, singing.
Adriana
Were you more of a mover or a singer?
Alona
Whoa.
Becca Bastos
Singer, mover. I'm a mover, not a dancer. I will say that I'm not a good dancer. I never was.
Adriana
What's the difference between a mover and a dancer?
Olivia
Please.
Becca Bastos
It's what you say when you do theater and you're going to an audition and they say, are you more of a mover or a dance? Which means, are you good or do you suck ass? But can you pass off as maybe, like, can learn something? And so after college, I was auditioning a lot for Broadway stuff and like theater stuff and a lot of cruise ships.
Alona
Okay.
Becca Bastos
And I had the worst audition of my life. Cause I said I was a dancer because I wanted it so bad. I just wanted to go on a damn cruise to be in Footloose, the musical on a cruise. And they were like, so you're a dancer. Went into the dance audition, did the worst dance to One Kiss by Dua Lipa. I'll never forget it. Don't know why I was Dua Lipa.
Alona
Did you choose the song?
Olivia
I didn't.
Alona
They did.
Becca Bastos
It was just bad for you. So this was my strong suit.
Olivia
Pre planned dance, like three counts of eight or something. And you just don't know what song is gonna happen.
Becca Bastos
I would even say like 32 count pretty long. Like the one kiss, you know, it was actually the whole chorus.
Alona
So bad.
Becca Bastos
So bad. Oh, I would have loved in character shoes. You have to do it in character shoes.
Alona
But if it had been Oklahoma and.
Becca Bastos
I didn't dance in that.
Alona
Okay, there you go.
Olivia
Ever a job on a cruise ship?
Becca Bastos
No.
Olivia
We get.
Becca Bastos
I didn't get caught.
Olivia
What do you know? So tough.
Becca Bastos
I Don't know if I'd want to now.
Alona
Crawl space. Like, crawl spaces?
Adriana
Yeah.
Becca Bastos
The sea scares me now. The deep sea.
Alona
Well, I do want to go on a cruise, though.
Olivia
You do?
Adriana
You never been?
Alona
I went on the Disney cruise ship when we were. We young things, and that's it. But I want to go on an actual cruise. It's been on my.
Olivia
It's literally.
Alona
I have a vision board I showed to you. It's on there.
Becca Bastos
It's all.
Alona
The cruise is all up there. I want to do, like, a nice cruise. I think it'd be fun with the girls.
Adriana
She follows this vlogger and they do. They go on several cruises and rank them all.
Alona
I love my Cruise guy on YouTube.
Becca Bastos
Do they go to the Alaska? The Alaska?
Alona
Oh, some of them do. I haven't watched those ones yet.
Becca Bastos
Oh, okay.
Olivia
Santa Cruz to up to a cold place.
Alona
Pray tell.
Olivia
What do you mean, you just stay on the ship the whole time?
Alona
Well, because you're seeing stuff that you wouldn't see.
Olivia
So here's the thing.
Becca Bastos
You're gonna stay on the ship the whole time to any cruise you go on. And it. I have my opinions on cruises. I think you should experience it.
Alona
Okay.
Becca Bastos
And then we'll talk. Maybe it's cool when you go like.
Alona
What have you been on?
Becca Bastos
What.
Alona
What line?
Becca Bastos
Royal Carib.
Alona
Okay.
Becca Bastos
I want to say my mom went on a cruise. Not to bring my mom into this. When she was 30, on a singles cruise. She talks about it probably once a month. Said it was the best time of her life. She found out her parents were getting divorced the night before her cruise. Left for the cruise. Oh, my God. Can't imagine what happened on there. Just like single, horny guys and girls.
Alona
That's actually.
Olivia
I'm still doing that.
Alona
Sign me up.
Becca Bastos
It's the new hobby.
Alona
Singles cruises.
Adriana
Well, then there's also the swinger cruises.
Olivia
I've seen swinger cruises.
Becca Bastos
What do you have to say about swingers? I'm wondering.
Alona
Not swingers, but swinger cruises and stuff.
Becca Bastos
No.
Adriana
And.
Olivia
But swingers in general. Yeah. You know. No thoughts right now.
Becca Bastos
What are your opinions? Why pineapple?
Olivia
I feel like they really took that. I'm like, man, I love pineapples, but.
Alona
It'S pineapple upside down.
Olivia
Is that right?
Alona
It's not just pineapple. It's an upside down pineapple.
Olivia
I feel like there will be a time when you are married and you ran into a swinger and you.
Alona
That is.
Olivia
You're gonna have to decide.
Becca Bastos
You guys are gonna have to decide if you want to swing.
Alona
What's the park in the road?
Olivia
You want to swing? Swing or not. And that's a big pivotal moment in your life.
Alona
Would you swing? What?
Becca Bastos
I don't know. I'm too jealous again.
Olivia
I can't. I don't think you can know until that moment.
Becca Bastos
Listen, if I'm 40 years into marriage and I'm a little bored, honey, swing me around.
Olivia
And that pineapple.
Becca Bastos
And that pineapple's going upside down. Upside down. Pineapple cake. Is that why it's quite that swingers.
Alona
Back in the 50s.
Becca Bastos
Wait, they made that?
Alona
Yeah.
Olivia

Becca Bastos
The 50s, because it kind of keeps coming up. Have you seen those desserts that they used to make then? That was just like the jello mold that they put random, like, steak in?
Adriana
Yeah.
Becca Bastos
Oh, no, they put savory food steak. Oh. In like mint jello molds.
Alona
Oh, God, I have seen these. It's spooky as hell.
Becca Bastos
Yeah.
Alona
What's it called? Like, an ass pick. Isn't that what they're called?
Olivia
That is a form of jello made out of, like, hooves and stuff.
Becca Bastos
Yeah.
Alona
I thought all jello was made out of hooves.
Olivia
I think you can get vegan jello now.
Alona
Oh, but I thought aspic was the savory thing.
Becca Bastos
I thought Aspic was just the thing you're doing on the single screws. You are good.
Alona
If you're lucky. If you're lucky.
Adriana
Sometimes I look at those recipes and I'm like, we're not in war times anymore. Not like that, you don't. It's not a depression.
Becca Bastos
Yeah, no.
Alona
Like, it's okay, put the jello box mix down and no one gets hurt.
Adriana
And what's the Cool Whip?
Becca Bastos
The Cool Whip.
Alona
What's the name of the salad? They call it Ambrosia. Ambrosia salad.
Olivia
I think I once had that and it was actually pretty delicious.
Becca Bastos
Really?
Adriana
It's called Ambrosia for a reason, is it not?
Becca Bastos
Oh, really?
Adriana
I just know it from Percy Jackson.
Olivia
If you like Coolip.
Becca Bastos
I think it's pretty good.
Alona
Cool Whip.
Becca Bastos
I love Cool Whip.
Alona
I gotta talk to your mom about this singles cruise. Matter of fact.
Olivia
That's fun.
Becca Bastos
She's here. Welcome single cruise spokeswoman.
Olivia
Did she meet partners on there?
Becca Bastos
She dated someone from there for sure.
Alona
Okay, cool.
Becca Bastos
Not for very long.
Alona
But we gotta bring this back. Yeah, maybe that's our next. That's our next business.
Becca Bastos
There was also a saw themed cruise. Like the movie franchise. I wonder what happens on there. Like there's probably a cruise for everything you can think of, to be honest.
Alona
Wasn't there?
Adriana
There's gluten free cruises.
Becca Bastos
Really? Cool. I love cruises now.
Olivia
Well, we were just talking about it is that we can't like we have to be careful of yucking things because who knows if later on if something's gonna come up. So if Royal Caribbean wants to give me a million dollars. I love cruises.
Alona
She loves cruises. And I want to say.
Olivia
I don't want to say that.
Becca Bastos
I had the best time on my Royal Caribbean cruise. I loved it.
Alona
That's your camera right in there.
Becca Bastos
My email is in bio with my manager's info. Like no, I would do anything.
Alona
Damn. Oh my God. Okay, we're gonna transition us over into something we like to call tea time. Because there is a lot of tea to be spilled today.
Becca Bastos
Okay.
Alona
We're gonna do some real hard hitting journalism here. Such as what shape of pasta do you not with?
Becca Bastos
Do I not.
Adriana
Yeah.
Becca Bastos
Penne.
Adriana
Good answer.
Olivia
Me too.
Becca Bastos
So boring. Pick another pasta. Yeah.
Alona
Yeah.
Adriana
Doesn't grip the the sauce right.
Becca Bastos
Not thick enough.
Alona
Yeah.
Becca Bastos
Does it make the sauce slides off? Especially vodka sauce, which is famously for penne.
Alona
All the way penne. And I don't fuck with penne.
Becca Bastos
I agree.
Alona
I don't like it.
Becca Bastos
You're really silent.
Adriana
I'm thinking you love penne.
Olivia
No, I think it's a. I don't think it's that crazy of a take. I don't think a lot of people like penne.
Becca Bastos
She's trying to protect herself from you.
Alona
Penne friends.
Becca Bastos
Want to walk with me? I love penne.
Adriana
Truly.
Olivia
It's true, actually.
Adriana
Bronze cut.
Alona
She loves it.
Olivia
I love everything.
Alona
I also don't mess with the bow tie ones.
Becca Bastos
I love it.
Olivia
Oh, bow tie with butter.
Alona
The center never cooked.
Adriana
I'm with you on that one.
Becca Bastos
But that's why I like it because you get a little bit of both. Best of both worlds. Al dente.
Adriana
And can I say something strong on this couch? I don't fuck with al dente. Cook your pasta Interesting.
Alona
Interesting. That's bold. That's bold.
Becca Bastos
It depends how hard of an al dente.
Adriana
And there shouldn't be. It should just be cooked.
Alona
Right?
Becca Bastos
Just cook your damn pasta.
Alona
Just make fucking pasta.
Becca Bastos
My thing. And I don't know what this is and it's probably related to ocd, but every time I cook pasta, I have to have one hard noodle before I eat, before I cook.
Alona
Oh, you got a crunch on it. But you mean.
Becca Bastos
No, I have to put the whole thing in my mouth and eat it.
Alona
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Like, while the other stuff's cooking.
Becca Bastos
Yeah, just one same.
Alona
I like going down the.
Becca Bastos
And it's tasty.
Olivia
I love a raw.
Alona
Raw noodle. But you're eating gluten free.
Becca Bastos
Right? So it's worse.
Alona
So it's decidedly worse. Yeah, yeah, yeah. No. Well, actually, in tea time, let's discuss. You are genuinely one of my best friends in the whole world and I'm just so happy that you could be on this couch here today. Me too. Tell me your perspective of us meeting and everything you like about me.
Becca Bastos
First of all, that's my favorite question to ask someone.
Olivia
So.
Becca Bastos
Okay. Olivia and I met in a really romantic way. We.
Alona
Where were we?
Becca Bastos
We were seeing a show. Our friends. Your friends.
Alona
Sophie Zucker's one woman show.
Becca Bastos
Yes. And Sophie and I had been mutuals for a while. She told me about her show. I knew it was coming. And it was at the Dynasty typewriter Los Angeles Shout out. And we were outside after the show, I wanna say, and you and our other friend Natalie came up to me. What happened?
Alona
What happened?
Becca Bastos
All I remember is like, it was that to brunch pipeline.
Alona
Yeah. Immediate. Almost like in my brain. There was no time between. We zoomed into brunch. No, I was there waiting with Nat to see the show and you walked in and I was like, oh, I love her videos, I love her content. I was like flexing it out. I was like, I've been following hers. And she had 11,000 followers on TikTok and now she's got a million, like. And it was me supporting all along.
Olivia
And I was like, I love her stuff.
Alona
Like, she's so cool. And then we were walking out and you were stood right there and I was just like, hey girl, love your stuff. Like casual. And you had such an amazing, like, response to it. You were like, thank you so much. Like, that was like. And you were so down to earth and like wonderful. And not the typical, I think response you get from someone in LA who maybe does content or lives a very Public life. And I was like, she's cool as hell. And we all stood there talking because we were waiting for Sophie to come out.
Becca Bastos
Yes.
Alona
We stood there talking and talking and talking.
Becca Bastos
We realized we're all from the East Coast.
Alona
Yep.
Becca Bastos
That was a real big binding factor. Always is. And I had just moved to la, I think.
Alona
Mm. You had. I had gone here a couple months before.
Becca Bastos
Yeah, basically.
Alona
But then we were like, we've gotta do brunch. And when I say to somebody, I mean, that's. And we did that.
Adriana
And we did that.
Alona
We did it up. We had so much fun. And we did photo booth stuff.
Becca Bastos
Should we tell the story about the brunch or no?
Alona
Yeah, tell the story about the brunch.
Becca Bastos
So we went on one brunch. Very good and fun. Second brunch. We decided to do bottomless, which usually is famous last words. And we. But we were mixing, like, mimosa, bellini. Paloma is paloma. Sangria and sangria.
Alona
Yeah, sangria.
Becca Bastos
Four different types of alcohol.
Alona
Oh, yeah.
Becca Bastos
And also with, like, the high of, like, a new, like, friendship. Friendship in la, where you're. When you finally found people you connect with.
Olivia
Yes.
Alona
Like your age, you. You live near each other. It's like. You're like, okay, tell me about the craziest thing you've done in bed. You know what I mean? Or whatever. And you're just, like, living.
Becca Bastos
Talking.
Alona
Easton.
Becca Bastos
Like, we're talking about anything you could talk about. And I'm pounding them down.
Alona
And we're being loud, too.
Becca Bastos
Loud.
Olivia
Loud.
Becca Bastos
We're essentially sitting in a treehouse.
Olivia
This is Bakari. Oh, Bakkeri.
Becca Bastos
Yeah, Silver lady.
Adriana
And you're gonna get your money's worth. You know, it's bottomless.
Alona
Oh, we.
Adriana
And you see the waiter pass by.
Becca Bastos
Hey.
Alona
Oh, yeah. They try being slow.
Becca Bastos
That's why. Because we got there, she meant business. She started a timer on her phone. She's like, well, this is how long we have until it runs out. So. So every time there's, like, this much left, she'd be like, we gotta get.
Alona
Him over here, garcon. And so then towards the end of it, she went to the bathroom. And we're all like, we are not.
Becca Bastos
We're not.
Alona
You are not with it. She going to the bathroom. And the waiter came out. I was like, so, listen, we're just gonna get, like, one more. Gonna be out of your hair. Are you gonna get us one more? One more picture? We're gonna be right out of your hair.
Olivia
Actually.
Alona
Give me the picture and the bill. And we're gonna get right out of your hair and you come back. Or I saw you in the bathroom or something. And she was throwing up in the bathroom. Cause I went to the bathroom, saw her throwing up, came back, and I said, listen, garcon, cancel that last picture. We don't want that picture.
Becca Bastos
We told you we don't want it.
Alona
I told you.
Adriana
That's crazy.
Alona
Just bring us the bill. We gotta get out of here.
Becca Bastos
Went to her apartment for the first time, thrown up in her bathroom.
Alona
Yeah, it was perfect.
Becca Bastos
In like a clean way.
Alona
Yeah, in a girly, cute, clean way.
Becca Bastos
I was so embarrassed. The next day, I remember I sent you. I, like, made a video with like a TikTok sound. And it was like, hey, how y' all doing? You know that one? I sent it. Cause I thought I'd never see you guys again, honestly.
Adriana
Oh.
Olivia
One thing I love about your content is. And don't take this the wrong way, but, like, when I show it to men, they might not find it as funny, but when I show it to women, they. The way that they interact with it and think it is the most hilarious thing. I'm like, you got. Like, I'll show it to this guy. I'm like, like, look at this. And it's just, like, doesn't register. But to women, the comedy you're putting out is so much our lived experience. And I love how well you do it in such a way that I'm like, that's like. It's crazy that it's exaggerated, but actually the Pilates instructor and actually the pizza guy from New Haven that I would go to after going to the club, like, yeah.
Becca Bastos
And it's funny because when I first started posting that, I didn't think anything of it because I'm like, oh, this is so specific. I was like, long island mom. Like, who's. It's just for New York. And then I'll meet people, like, people from New York, and then I'll meet. I met this girl who's from Australia, and she's like, I'm not going to do the accent, but she's like, your mom is just like, my mom. I'm like, huh? How Australia? What? And so I didn't realize, like, it's such lived, shared experiences that helps you connect with women. Like, it's definitely for the girls, too. Like, maybe like the pizza guy stuff, like, kind of veers more towards, like, men sometimes coming in there, but then they're out real fast. One time I posted about, like, ovulation. They're like, this is disgusting. I'm like, okay, what? Not for you.
Alona
Get out of here.
Becca Bastos
Get out.
Alona
Literally.
Becca Bastos
Yeah. And so, yeah, it's fun. Just things you observe. Even like making fun of a gynecologist experience. It actually is so comforting to hear that so many women go through the same actually. Well, sad.
Olivia
Yeah.
Becca Bastos
To hear that so many women go through the same thing of being like, gaslit and not feeling safe and all that stuff. So it's. It's nice.
Olivia
As you go about your life, are you just like constantly. I mean, I know I am, like, thinking of things, but are you just like watching people and picking up on little things and whatnot?
Alona
Yeah.
Becca Bastos
Now when something happens, I'm like, oh, that's a video. Or now like even seeing something happen with like, strangers or like a cashier or something. Like, that's a video or something. It is always now, maybe even too much I'm thinking about. I'm like, let's maybe just kind of be in the moment. Like, this is a video.
Alona
And do you take notes? Like, as you go, do you have a running thing or do you kind of have an idea? You sit down, you draft it there.
Becca Bastos
I have a note on my phone of just the general idea. And then I'll sit down later and script. Because I. I wish I could just improv the whole thing, but improvise it, but I can't. I need like, script. So I write it out later.
Alona
We are familiar with her process a little bit. Alona and I, because I have filmed many a video for you, which is funny because the videos I have filmed of you friends who don't know that we're friends have sent them to me going, you would love this, girl. I feel like this is so your sense of humor. And I'm like, you are not gonna believe.
Becca Bastos
No way.
Alona
Who was behind the camera on this one.
Olivia
And you do a great in n out. So cool. You know, you do that thing and.
Alona
Then I think we work well together.
Adriana
It's beautiful.
Alona
And then Alona starred in one of.
Olivia
The alpha that was our n with sars. Yeah. What a time that was.
Alona
Yeah, yeah. Like the crossover we didn't know we needed.
Olivia
We gave it to them.
Alona
You've got eyeliner on your upper lip.
Olivia
Me?
Alona
Yeah, as your. No, as some elf on the shelf.
Becca Bastos
Again started sweating when she said that.
Olivia
She's walking through my rich ass apartment I'm staying in for dancing with the.
Alona
Stars and just self on the shelf walking.
Becca Bastos
Oh my God. And those people were on a tour of the building.
Olivia
We're in the weight room.
Alona
Like, she's waits.
Olivia
And they come in to show the place.
Becca Bastos
I'm running around like, hey, hey. Like, spinning in like this. And. Oh, my God.
Olivia
It was.
Becca Bastos
Yeah, that was humbling. It's usually very humbling, but it's nice to have you there. Remember when we went to Target?
Alona
You went to Target as the elf as well. And I was like, but we had a game plan. We were militant. We ran the shit. You. I was like, okay, you go that way. Hide behind all the bathing suits and lingerie on your way around into the folder section. Let's do it. Yeah.
Adriana
Like said I.
Becca Bastos
1, 2, 3. Don't. Don't look around.
Alona
Don't make eye contact.
Adriana
Do you get nervous filming in public?
Becca Bastos
Yeah, I'm sweating right now thinking about it. I don't like it at all.
Alona
But the payoff is great.
Becca Bastos
Payoff's awesome. I. So I was traveling last summer in Europe, and I was like, I'm gonna do, like, some kind of video. And couldn't do. I couldn't.
Olivia
That seemed like an even different realm to me. America. You could maybe do it.
Becca Bastos
You think? No, because, like, first of all, the judgment of anyone you pass, and then you're gonna think for them to think you're an annoying American.
Alona
Yeah.
Olivia
You're in Lisbon setting up a camera.
Alona
Oh, the ring light.
Becca Bastos
No, no, no.
Olivia
That's crazy. I feel the same way.
Becca Bastos
Do you ever film in public?
Olivia
Not like, I don't do many in public, I would say.
Adriana
But you're not afraid to do it.
Olivia
In public when it comes out? For some things, I film most of it. I mean, I. It's very quick, my little content. And also just like, done, set up and filmed. I'll do a. Maybe a photo shoot in public. And even then I'm like, a little bleh. Which I might be cringe. Get your bag. But I. Liv, you do.
Becca Bastos
You're good at it.
Alona
Oh, thank you. I think it's like, what is it? Not rejection therapy, exposure therapy, where you just gotta do it and you gotta. And I'm still super weird about. I'll be like. Cause I'll see somebody rolling it, whipping the phone around, wide angle lengths.
Becca Bastos
Ew.
Alona
Like, I should.
Becca Bastos
Like, usually no one cares, but you feel like there's a magnifying glass on you.
Alona
Cause when I see somebody doing it, I go, get your bag, girl. You know? So I'm like, hopefully people think that of me too, when I'm doing it. But then again, I've made my content about my Life and lifestyle and travel. So I have to be like, come with me.
Becca Bastos
I was just.
Olivia
You're a big reel person, though. You post a lot on reels.
Alona
Yeah, actually I wrote that down. Because you love reels.
Becca Bastos
Well, I just like reels. I like consuming reels.
Adriana
Really? More than TikTok?
Becca Bastos
Really? Yeah, more than TikTok these days.
Olivia
Do you ever find yourself just scrolling, like, not even seeing? Yeah, if you're headlamp.
Becca Bastos
Yeah, that's what I know.
Olivia
I get into it. I'm like, I haven't actually stayed on any of these videos for longer than three seconds. That's when I know I need a brick.
Alona
It Right?
Olivia
Just kidding. Brick.
Adriana
Brick. Sponsored by brick.
Becca Bastos
I need a brick.
Olivia
I just got one.
Becca Bastos
Do you like it?
Olivia
I like, wish I didn't need a physical thing, you know, I'm like, whoa, get out. It's not bad though. I think there's also an app she uses that shuts it down from an app.
Adriana
It's lovely because I used to just like fully delete Instagram or TikTok off my phone and then I'd find myself on YouTube shorts before I knew YouTube.
Alona
Shorts was a thing.
Becca Bastos
That's when you know, honey, I was.
Adriana
An addict and I was like, give me a 15 second video now.
Becca Bastos
And like, have you ever found yourself.
Alona
This crazy on LinkedIn?
Olivia
LinkedIn. Ajana, are you kidding me? That's really crazy, dude. Someone help her on LinkedIn. LinkedIn.
Becca Bastos
LinkedIn has videos like reels.
Olivia
What are they?
Alona
And it's people being like so excited to announce I was a top performer this year.
Olivia
It's just like, is that actually what it is?
Alona
Probably that's what LinkedIn is.
Adriana
Or it's like I had someone apply for this job and you wouldn't believe.
Becca Bastos
Like, da, da da, da da. They're vlogging.
Olivia
You could do numbers on there with some of your job sketches of like, you know, Pilates instructors.
Alona
Yeah.
Becca Bastos
Okay, let's go.
Alona
LinkedIn's top grossing influencer. You.
Becca Bastos
I saw someone, I forget her name. She's so funny. She was posting like text posts on there. Like, really funny. And it does numbers on LinkedIn.
Adriana
You can get numbers on LinkedIn numbers.
Becca Bastos
Can you get paid from LinkedIn?
Olivia
You know what? Actually going back to 2016, one time there was this, I think it was 2016, this guy that, that I made out with one summer and pretty much loved my life. Anyway, I could not find him, but I was talking to my friend and we were like, oh, let's check his LinkedIn. Turns out when you check LinkedIn?
Alona
Yep.
Becca Bastos
It shows you if they have pro or something.
Olivia
He probably had pro and he never.
Alona
It used to be you can't try messaging him and now It's Pro on LinkedIn.
Olivia
I really like that guy for a minute there.
Becca Bastos
Wait, I think he would still like that guy.
Olivia
No, no. I was at like a random night out that I met him and I think he had an accent. I was like, this is the guy for me.
Adriana
I'm not afraid to check a LinkedIn. I don't care if you see me. Really? I'll go into it. I'm like, well yeah, I was looking.
Alona
Ding dong who's Then what I love to do.
Adriana
You go on LinkedIn, you find their job, you hit up glassdoor, put in the job, you figure out how much they make about Good dame.
Olivia
I didn't know you were shallow like that.
Adriana
Well, sometimes I'm curious.
Alona
No, I think that's. I think it's perfectly well she's within her bounds to do that.
Adriana
More of like people from high school. Not so much romantic interest, just her ops. And then I have. And then also when you get like an address, I put that into Zillow. See how much your.
Becca Bastos
Oh my God.
Adriana
I know a lot about people.
Becca Bastos
That's cool. Really quiet.

Becca Bastos
Do you guys remember the apps that popped up when TikTok was being banned? Lemon 8 Lemonade, which I don't even understand what that is.
Olivia
I get. I.
Alona
They trick me on Tik Tok all the time. I actually open up their all the time.
Becca Bastos
Me too.
Alona
Yeah. Or Red Note, the Chinese one I post on there.
Becca Bastos
It didn't do well. Yeah, I tried.
Adriana
I was like, hey, guys, you're exploring other markets.
Alona
I want translate into English, like, to read everything, because when people would put screenshots of it on TikTok, it would all. It would just be in Mandarin. And I was like, how do you. How are we operating this app?
Becca Bastos
Yeah. I don't know. I didn't get how it worked.
Alona
Oh, my gosh. Are you in any TikTok holes right now or any trend holes?
Becca Bastos
Oh, God.
Olivia
Yeah.
Becca Bastos
Tell me now. I know. Have you heard? So. So if I see a TikTok recipe that, like, works for me and I, like, I'll, like, beat that to the ground, like, and actually make and eat that for, like, three years.
Alona
Yeah.
Becca Bastos
And right now, I can't stop eating the sweet potato with the cheese in it every day. Every day. If I don't have one bad day.
Olivia
Are you serious?
Becca Bastos
I love it every day.
Alona
Is it a Japanese sweet potato every time or any kind of sweet potato?
Becca Bastos
Japanese. Because first of all, they're like candy on their own.
Alona
Really?
Becca Bastos
So sweet and yummy. It tastes like there's butter in it.
Alona
Okay.
Olivia
And it's. But there's cheese in it.
Adriana
Are you putting the buttercast in it?
Alona
Yeah.
Olivia
The butter code.
Becca Bastos
Here's the thing. You can kind of make your own adventure with it. Choose your own adventure. I'm doing gouda some weeks. Some weeks I'm doing cheddar some weeks I'm doing, like, anything I can get my freaking grubby hands on.
Alona
Yeah.
Becca Bastos
And I'm shoving the cheese in there. And then also the other thing is, like, the carrot ribbon salad, anyone?
Alona
Oh, my God.
Olivia
The girls that eat it with their chopstick. Like, this is so good.
Becca Bastos
You're eating your skin. Skin care. Yeah, it's really good.
Olivia
Is it? You have a kind of an orange glow about you.
Becca Bastos
Do I be okay? So I'm scared that my hands are gonna turn orange.
Adriana
You have to eat so many carrots.
Becca Bastos
Okay. I'm eating four carrots a day.
Adriana
That's not Bad.
Alona
That's perfectly normal.
Becca Bastos
But doesn't it kind of look orange right now? Or that's like makeup?
Alona
Do I look orange? No, you look great.
Olivia
Have you tried the same? You try marinate soy marinated eggs. Are you allergic to soy?
Becca Bastos
Kind of a little.
Alona
There's gluten in soy sauce, too.
Olivia
Tamari.
Becca Bastos
I love that, though. I'm sure. I just love eggs. Like, I love eggs with anything in them. Soaked, like, regular dry.
Adriana
Do you get picky when it's a scrambled egg?
Becca Bastos
No.
Olivia
I have one every day.
Becca Bastos
I have three every day.
Alona
Three scrambled eggs every day.
Olivia
Telling Olivia, too, she needs to up her eggs.
Adriana
She'll have one egg.
Olivia
One egg is not enough protein.
Becca Bastos
Not enough. One, sometimes two even then.
Alona
It seems like a lot, though.
Becca Bastos
The cholesterol thing, I think not cholesterol. Is it with eggs?
Adriana
Something.
Becca Bastos
You can have them every day.
Olivia
Yeah. You're fine.
Alona
I live in a world where I can't eat yolks. For real.
Becca Bastos
What are you doing with them?
Olivia
What?
Alona
Throwing them out. That feels like a waste to me.
Becca Bastos
A waste.
Alona
It's the best part of the egg. I would eat just yolks if I could.
Becca Bastos
There's this guy. Speaking of reels, I saw a reel of a guy on a plane. He does this thing where he sits next to people and he, like, eats raw eggs. Have you seen this?
Olivia
Raw eggs.
Becca Bastos
He just pops raw eggs in his mouth and he eats them until the next person. The person next to him has a reaction. And that's kind of the content world we're living in today.
Olivia
Right?
Adriana
I'm all set right there.
Becca Bastos
What happened to the artistry? He's literally just, like, choking down an egg.
Olivia
Like, literally, like, gagging off, like, chewing through the show. Show.
Becca Bastos
He's like. And he does this thing where he, like, wipes it under his nose first and then he shoves it. I don't know what that's.
Alona
You know what?
Olivia
I have. I think I have seen that.
Becca Bastos
Have you?
Olivia
I think I have. And I was like, hot guy doing it, too.
Alona
You know what? Art is supposed to disturb the comfortable and comfort the disturbed. So I think that's what's going on here. Is that a quote?
Becca Bastos
Because if not, that is. I was like, you're.
Alona
I saw that. On top of that, you really did.
Adriana
Something right forever ago.
Alona
So. Yeah.
Olivia
Is there anything you're hating online recently other than raw eggs?
Becca Bastos
Yeah, the AI videos of people sleeping in beds where they're like, choose your bed you want.
Alona
Right.
Adriana
Because the covers never go over them. Right?
Alona
Yeah.
Becca Bastos
And they're not wearing pajamas. Who's going to bed in a sweater and jeans like that?
Alona
Oh, lame. Jeans. I was like, wait, what do you.
Becca Bastos
Go to bed in?
Olivia
No, I only wear a shirt because recently my guy also told me you shouldn't be wearing underwear.
Becca Bastos
No.
Alona
Let air out.
Becca Bastos
Of course.
Olivia
But I was like, I'm already doing that, girl.
Alona
So a real Winnie the Pooh situation.
Becca Bastos
Oh, like not even pants. No.
Olivia
Yeah, you should actually just let it. So I don't know if I'll get into this, but we were talking about yeast infections. I had a yeast infection.
Becca Bastos
Same, same.
Olivia
Okay. And always have them.
Alona
Yeah, no, cut that out. First one for her, first one for.
Becca Bastos
You in your life.
Olivia
Let's knock on that. I'm scared now.
Becca Bastos
No. Mazel tov.
Olivia
And my gyno is saying there's like, you should first off sleep without panties on to let air. And I was like, I'm already doing that. I love my we message all the time. Shout out Wendy. Love her. And then she's also saying there's so many ways you can get yeast. Like if a man has like athlete's foot and he pulls up his draws over his feet and catches them. Catches on his feet with his athlete foot, he's pulling the fungus up into.
Alona
That's why it's called jock itch. That's why for like athletes foot. You can also buy jock itch cream because it's the same thing.
Olivia
So I learned that harrowing. You get that message in your my chart.
Becca Bastos
Be careful.
Olivia
And then if it's really interesting, you can take. She was like, you can take cool air from an air dryer. I was like, oh my gosh. What we go through.
Becca Bastos
Well, when it's bad, I'll not. I won't get into specifics. But damn. You want to take a freaking sledgehammer to inside. I'd do anything.
Alona
Yeah, yeah.
Becca Bastos
No, but I know that you're not supposed to sleep in underwear, but pants I thought were surely okay.
Olivia
Why would you think.
Becca Bastos
Well, because they're like loose goose.
Alona
Yeah. P.J.
Adriana
Bottom.
Olivia
She sleeps with pants on. It's fine.
Alona
I have recently I've gotten into I'm in my PJ era. I never used to be. I used to be like a big sweatshirt, no underwear kind of vibe person. And now I've been getting like magic magic sets sent to me.
Becca Bastos
Makes you feel better.
Alona
I feel so cute and fun and happy. I just got new ones that have like, oh, you love these espresso martinis all over them. I put them on right away and I was just like, they're so soft and stretchy and I wear them in bed. But now I will say, like, the last two nights, they've been riding up to about here. And I've had about enough of that.
Becca Bastos
You're like berries and cream, guys.
Alona
That's literally. Literally. So we'll see if my continue. My matching PJ set.
Becca Bastos
What are you wearing to bed, Adriana?
Adriana
I stole one of her matching sets, actually. I haven't taken that thing off.
Alona
Yeah.
Olivia
Which one's yours?
Alona
It's actually hers. Oh. It was sent to her big dog.
Adriana
Or sometimes I do wear, like, a sweatshirt to bed. The amount of times I wake up though.
Becca Bastos
Drenched.
Adriana
No, it's gone.
Becca Bastos
Oh, it's gone.
Alona
It's off.
Adriana
I have a problem of, like, when I'm asleep. I. I now have a mouth guard. I've never. I've woken up once with it in my mouth. It is under my butt. It is on, like, because it's a bottom one. And then it, like, holds my mouth, like, slightly open. So I'm ripping it out in my sleep.
Olivia
I'm ripping it out.
Adriana
I'm waking up. Mouth guard is out. I just. I did have a thought where I.
Alona
Was like, I passed by myself in the mirror in one of my matching PJ sets, being like. And I was like, oh, it's cuz I'm not actively, like, seeing anybody romantically. Like, will that continue when I do with matching sets?
Becca Bastos
Yeah, surely.
Alona
With little baby espresso martinis on them. Yeah.
Olivia
Yeah.
Adriana
What were you wearing before we did?
Becca Bastos
Not with the right man. He's gonna freaking love you.
Alona
He's gonna want his own pair.
Becca Bastos
Yeah, he's gonna want his own. He's gonna be stealing them.
Alona
Yeah. Okay.
Adriana
Interesting.
Olivia
I guess just like, everyone don't wear pants.
Alona
Okay.
Becca Bastos
At the end of the day, I don't know. I'm gonna try it, but I just feel like that might be uncomfy for me. Cause it's like, I do.
Alona
I hear you.
Becca Bastos
I just soft things on my legs. That's just something about me.
Olivia
Do you wear socks to bed?
Becca Bastos
No. What do I look like, a serial killer?
Olivia
I was just checking.
Alona
You wear socks to bed.
Becca Bastos
I do.
Alona
I love it. It's so cozy.
Olivia
She's recently gotten into it and it's crazy.
Alona
Like, not recently. I've been doing this.
Olivia
You're laying in bed next to her, and you turn over and she has her bonnet on and is like, mouth guarding. I too, am like, the picture of you, girl. We should.
Alona
We should maybe share that out I do wear a bonnet to sleeve because it's really good for your hair.
Adriana
But she makes you blur her out if you ever get a photo of her.
Becca Bastos
I'm not yet at the point she's re.
Olivia
I'm going to. I totally. She's reading her Kindle and like, it's just Alona.
Becca Bastos
She can't deal with that right now.
Alona
No, I can't. I'm in a better place, you know?
Olivia
Hair covered, night garden, full suit on.
Becca Bastos
That's beautiful.
Olivia
What you see now is just not what many people get the privilege to.
Alona
See, you know, at night, I don't even see this. Like, I called, I come in the mirrors. It's her dad's birthday today. And I had just done my makeup to come here and I got on the phone with him. He goes, you recording today? I go, yeah. Cause I don't look like this. But in that moment too, I also have one of those Kindle arms. So it's like attached to the side with the remote with the clicker. Yeah, it's awesome.
Becca Bastos
I want that.
Alona
I love it.
Adriana
You would fit in real well in wall eeling around.
Alona
Adriana just called me fat live. That was crazy. Everyone. No. Everyone heard her call me fat.
Becca Bastos
No, adjacent the tapes.
Alona
For all the tapes.
Becca Bastos
For all the tapes.
Alona
You are working on a one woman show yourself.
Becca Bastos
I am.
Alona
What can you tell us?
Becca Bastos
Not so much yet, because I'm still working on the concept.
Olivia
So.
Becca Bastos
Nothing. No, it's kind of following my videos I make about phases. I'll say that.
Alona
Okay.
Becca Bastos
In my experience with that being a woman monthly and feeling like a different woman.
Olivia
But you've done one woman shows before?
Becca Bastos
No, I've never done this.
Olivia
Your first one.
Adriana
I'm right.
Becca Bastos
This is why. It's like a bit I'm writing. I haven't even told anyone yet.
Adriana
Really?
Becca Bastos
Yeah.
Olivia
So now said it. You have to do it now.
Becca Bastos
I'm. That's what's scary about it. And I'm sweating again. Sweat in this chair. Yeah, I have to do it.
Adriana
How many one woman shows have you seen? Like, do you attend them frequently?
Becca Bastos
I do. I don't know. I started. I've never seen any before moving to la. But here I feel like there's such, I mean, plethora of cool shows all the time. And then I was in Edinburgh at the Fringe Fest two years ago and saw a bunch, which was really inspiring. So we're working on it. It's really scary. This is like the scariest thing because being behind a screen and like making content that Way feels so different than actually like, I miss that part of theater. Like the live, like connecting with an audience. But it's something that feels so foreign to me now and so scary because you don't get.
Alona
You don't know.
Becca Bastos
But that's cool. It's cool.
Alona
You gotta do it.
Becca Bastos
Have to.
Alona
It's gonna be great.
Olivia
Well, I'll watch it. Or you could like do it in front of just the three of us.
Becca Bastos
Okay.
Adriana
Yeah. Cool.
Becca Bastos
You guys wanna read it when I finish it?
Olivia
I would love to read it.
Alona
Freakingly. My girl.
Olivia
One of your videos that I love, that's my favorite is your dating stories.
Adriana
Yeah.
Olivia
And the one where you had like, you dated the guy and turns out his mom was at the January.
Becca Bastos
That thing.
Olivia
That's crazy.
Becca Bastos
Yeah. Sometimes things go find them. Things happen that I'm like, it's just to tell it as a story shortly.
Olivia
Sure.
Becca Bastos
How else? That was crazy. I think that was like almost a year ago to the day. Almost.
Alona
Oh, interesting.
Becca Bastos
Where are we? February?
Alona
No, you're January.
Becca Bastos
Okay. Not yet, but like.
Olivia
Yeah, but do you ever, like, are in those and think this is good?
Becca Bastos
Of course, during it, I'm like, this is gonna be awesome to tell everyone I know. So what I do is like, after it happens, I'll like workshop it around to friends just telling it. And then I'm like, time to set it free online.
Alona
And then we got a sneak preview of that one at a different brunch. So yeah. Oh, yeah.
Becca Bastos
It's just fun to tell. But yeah, during when that happens. So many dating stories of that.
Adriana
Do you tee up more questions to get like crazier answers out of them?
Becca Bastos
Yeah. So a lot of people were like, girl, why didn't you just leave immediately? I'm like, I needed more info for this. Like, I needed to know.
Adriana
I was researching.
Becca Bastos
I was also scared.
Alona
Yeah.
Becca Bastos
Like, who knows what this guy is capable of. I'm scared.
Alona
Yeah.
Olivia
Just for context, he was like an anti vaxxer. Right?
Becca Bastos
Right. He didn't believe in vaccinations. We're talking about COVID And then he was saying how he takes horse heartworm medication when he has a cold. This guy lives in on the west side of Los Angeles. You don't. I didn't think people like were here like that. Anyway. Yeah, he was like, I take horse heartworm meds. My mom does too. Telling me about his mom. And then he's like. And she was at that little thing. I was like, what January? January 7th. He said the wrong date.
Alona
First try to play it Off.
Becca Bastos
You mean the sixth? Yeah, yeah, yeah. So.
Adriana
So he's actually the son of a historical figure if you really think about it.
Becca Bastos
Right, right, right. Even a criminal probably. He's like. But she didn't go in. Like, she didn't do it. She was just like protesting outside.
Adriana
I was like, not even one of the cute ones.
Alona
Okay.
Becca Bastos
Not even one of the cool ones.
Alona
She half assed it. Okay. Half ass.
Becca Bastos
January 6th.
Alona
Okay. Lame. That's his legacy.
Olivia
One of my Simon says. I tell my jokes first to them and then they'll see it online. So it's like. Oh, yeah. I always do it in like.
Becca Bastos
Cause it's good to test this.
Olivia
Really hit with this crew. Let me go online with it. So it's great. You got to, you know, give it a little bit.
Becca Bastos
You have to workshop it.
Olivia
Workshop it.
Becca Bastos
See what parts work.
Olivia
Adriana hears my stories.
Alona
8,000. Like, you hear a lot of them, but this girl's usually around me when I am telling a story and telling a story and telling it perfect.
Adriana
She did something a little different this time.
Becca Bastos
She get notes. Yeah.
Adriana
Like, bring it back. That version.
Alona
You need to keep the emphasis on the there for real. That's how that works.
Olivia
She's a very good storyteller. That though. I think you almost calmed down a little bit in your storytelling.
Alona
Have I?
Olivia
Cuz you usually you. Were you more expressive.
Alona
Okay.
Olivia
Do you feel that she's not as expressive as she used to be? I. You know, I think you're like, everything.
Alona
I'm actually going through.
Olivia
I know it sounds like. But when she. I think it was like college or.
Adriana
Like, she used to be such a huge character.
Olivia
She used to be a huge character. Which maybe with like age you get. I made a real big character.
Adriana
It wasn't. Yeah. Or offended. Authentic to yourself. It was you to the like, nth degree.
Alona
It was me to the nth degree. To really, like. It's like to everyone. To really make everybody feel comfortable and happy and fine and fun and like really cater. And that was just burning me up.
Becca Bastos
It's exhausting.
Alona
It's exhausting.
Becca Bastos
So my friends used to say I was always on.
Alona
Yeah.
Olivia
Is that how you feel as well even?
Becca Bastos
Not anymore. Thank God. But it used to be like very much like that. Yeah. I was like, what am I doing? I felt like I was a monkey every time I did.
Olivia
I think that's interesting with you two being friends too. And even like Gloria as well. Such entertainers, such funny people hanging out. Cause I think Olivia would hang out with people where she's the funniest. And so then she brings it up and, like. And everyone's like, God, Olivia's so funny. And then it's like, you guys hanging out, who are just funny all together. Like, how does that bound.
Alona
I was literally at a friend's, like, family party, and the mom was around me, and I said something that, like, was just, like, a average funny party joke. And the mom goes, what will she say next? I was like, okay. I think it was, like, the first time we started hanging out. No offense to everybody else in my life. You make me laugh a lot. I think you're wonderful people. But, like, like, hanging out with you and Gloria, and I was like, oh, we're going bar for bar for bar. We are going bit for bit, like, to the point where it's like, somebody put us down, like, please. But it was so fun and refreshing.
Becca Bastos
But we can also be normal, which is nice.
Adriana
Yeah.
Alona
Real deep stuff. Yeah.
Becca Bastos
I don't feel, like, exhausted or, like, drained when we.
Olivia
Just some funny ladies.
Alona
Just some freaking funny ladies doing our freaking thing. Can we bring you into a little section we like to call Try Hard?
Becca Bastos
Yeah.
Olivia
Yeah, I do it.
Alona
Okay. What do you know about rugby?
Becca Bastos
I'm really embarrassed to say. Not much.
Adriana
That's okay.
Alona
You don't need to know anything. So let's see. This is a game called Try hard. When you score a point in rugby, it's called a try. You make a try lona.
Adriana
Is that right?
Olivia
Yes.
Becca Bastos
Fact check it is, right?
Adriana
Yeah.
Alona
Yeah. Now you know. That's it. So this time you're gonna try hard to answer these questions as quickly as possible.
Becca Bastos
Okay? Okay. Lightning round.
Alona
Lightning round, Basically.
Olivia
Okay.
Adriana
Okay.
Alona
Coffee order.
Becca Bastos
Oh, God. Okay, see, now I have a whole explanation. I'll tell you later. You don't want the explanation.
Alona
We actually do want the explanation.
Becca Bastos
I was gonna say double chocolate chip frappuccino. Why? I haven't gotten that since sixth grade. Okay, I'm going back. I would like an iced vanilla latte with oat milk, please. Ooh, yummy.
Adriana
Olivia just laughs.
Becca Bastos
Right on.
Alona
She reached over and grabbed my arm. Fat.
Olivia
That's crazy. Not the back of her arm, too.
Becca Bastos
Dude, she grabbed.
Olivia
You probably didn't feel anything because of her eight pound weights.
Becca Bastos
No.
Alona
Yeah, yeah. It was pure muscle there. Can I also just say something that Adriana's been doing recently? She doesn't realize she's doing it, but she'll, like, come up to us and go. And, like, she grabs right here. Like, if she's coming to hug you, she'll like, paw up on the side. She'll pause there first. And we're like, what the fuck is wrong with you?
Olivia
She did that the first time, like, a year ago, and she did it to me. And Olivia was around me too, and.
Alona
She came up and said this.
Olivia
And I looked at we all, like.
Alona
I go, that was. How dare you?
Olivia
What did you just do? It was actually crazy.
Adriana
I love every part of you.
Olivia
I know.
Alona
Okay. Oh, sorry. For everyone listening. She basically just, like, grabbed the stomach. Like the gently.
Adriana
The. Yeah.
Alona
Below the rib cage.
Becca Bastos
Above of a gentle rach.
Olivia
Yeah.
Alona
Yeah. The pooch. The poochia. The puccina. Not the puccina. She grabs the belly.
Olivia
Our body type is belly.
Alona
Our body rarely denies himself a treat. That's our body type.
Olivia
Becca, back to you.
Alona
Becca, back to you.
Becca Bastos
Let's jealous.
Adriana
Who are you jealous of?
Becca Bastos
Um, Tate McRae.
Olivia
Okay.
Becca Bastos
Cause she has awesome dance moves and she's hot.
Alona
She's a dancer, not a mover.
Becca Bastos
And I was just thinking about. She's a dancer, not a mover, and if I whipped out her dance moves to do auditions to Footloose musical the Cruise. I know. I got it.
Olivia
Have you ever stolen anything?
Becca Bastos
Yes, I was. I have a klepto background.
Alona
Okay.
Becca Bastos
What was your go to in high school? School Nail polish.
Olivia
I was gonna say that I stole one too. I put it in my pants.
Becca Bastos
Whoa.
Olivia
Yeah. Mom made me bring it back. Really?
Adriana
I never got caught.
Olivia
Never caught?
Becca Bastos
No. But I. But, like, it was gonna happen one day. Thank God it ended.
Alona
Wow.
Becca Bastos
It was not a good phase.
Alona
Was it, like, the rush? Like, you had to go each time?
Becca Bastos
No, thank God.
Alona
Okay, cool.
Adriana
Yeah.
Alona
One time I stole a. Like, a greeting card from, like, a Rite Aid, and my mom marched me back there and made the card.
Becca Bastos
How did she know that you stole it, though?
Adriana
She found it.
Alona
She was like, I didn't buy this. So, like. Yeah, yeah.
Becca Bastos
Yay.
Alona
And adrenaline, very quietly next to me just said, mom never caught me.
Adriana
So I stole a sand dollar from a gift store.
Alona
That's wrong.
Becca Bastos
So each of you are only one timers?
Olivia
Yeah, not over here.
Adriana
Besides, like, a grocery store self checkout. But now I'm getting really scared of Adriana. I'm sorry.
Olivia
I've actually never done that.
Becca Bastos
You only, like, scan one avocado instead of two?
Adriana
No, it's. The raspberries were too expensive. Expensive in college. Straight into my bag.
Alona
It didn't, like, beep for the weight. No, no, no.
Adriana
You gotta know your stores, okay?
Alona
Period.
Becca Bastos
Because you've heard, apparently at Target they, like, watch you from, like, a room.
Alona
Oh, yeah.
Adriana
Until, like, you hit a felony amount. I never did anything too crazy.
Olivia
What's a felony amount?
Becca Bastos
It has to be like thousands. Like, thousands of dollars.
Olivia
People are thousands of dollars scamming at self checkout.
Becca Bastos
Yes.
Adriana
Well, like, because they'll keep track of faces and like, each time. How much did you steal?
Olivia
Oh, interesting. That's really cool.
Becca Bastos
It's a tally system.
Alona
Yeah.
Olivia
What's something you learned late in life?
Becca Bastos
Something I learned late in life.
Alona
What?
Olivia
Something you learned, like, wildly late in life that you're like, okay, wish I'd known that sooner.
Becca Bastos
Oh, you don't have to try so hard. I was trying so hard at so many things. Just, like, for validation reasons. And then also in the beginning of, like, making content. Of course you get all the validation. And that was not great.
Olivia
Yeah.
Becca Bastos
So later on I learned, like, that's actually not like a currency.
Alona
Where did you learn it? Like, have you just been slowly picking it up or just kind of slowly.
Becca Bastos
As it goes on? Because I realize it doesn't give me actually anything. It's so. It's turned into something so unhealthy that I had to be like, oh, that's not good.
Alona
That's not serving me.
Becca Bastos
Not serving me.
Alona
Gotta put this down. It's heavy.
Becca Bastos
The weight of that is too much to bear.
Alona
Key. Are you a good sleeper?
Becca Bastos
Such a good sleeper. Like, not to brag, but amazing.
Alona
Really. Like nap or two or just like nighttime?
Becca Bastos
No, but nighttime anywhere.
Alona
Are you sleep talking? Sleepwalking?
Becca Bastos
I don't know about sleep. Sleepwalking. No, thank God. I check myself in sleepwalk talking, I think. Oh, my mom told me. Cause I was sharing a bed with her recently over the holidays, and she was like, you woke me up in the middle of the night, shook me, started talking to me. Absolute gibberish. And then you just laid down and went back to sleep. I'm like, that scary. I don't know what I was saying.
Alona
That's Alona.
Olivia
Can you do that?
Alona
Yeah.
Olivia
She's a sleeping.
Alona
Yeah, but she's not just sleep talking. She is communing with the other side.
Becca Bastos
That's right. You're a ghost. You speak to ghosts.
Adriana
Yeah, I do.
Olivia
I've had a couple encounters.
Alona
Yeah, that's Alona.
Adriana
It's really brave.
Becca Bastos
What about recently?
Olivia
None recently. But as I've said before, like, to me and ghosts, I just try to keep a really good rapport.
Becca Bastos
Right.
Olivia
So that they don't want to come in. So if there's ever something I'm just like, come on in, my brother.
Adriana
She's 100% safe.
Olivia
Don't say by that door, bald man.
Alona
Yeah, she's dapping them up.
Olivia
Come on into the room.
Becca Bastos
Come on in, Vin Diesel.
Alona
Dude, the veil is so thin when you're sleeping.
Olivia
The veil is really thin. So, yeah, I just. I'd rather they not get mad at me.
Alona
Perfect.
Adriana
It's a good outlook.
Alona
Yeah, yeah.
Adriana
Very healthy twin.
Becca Bastos
Who's your.
Adriana
Hear me out.
Becca Bastos
Who's my who? I heard. Who's my hero?
Adriana
Who's your. Hear me out.
Becca Bastos
Like the Hear me out.
Adriana
Cakes.
Alona
Like your hear me out. Like, it's weird, but just a wild one. Give it.
Becca Bastos
Oh, my God. Guys, these are such amazing questions. Like, hear me out. Hear me out. Cheese and a sweet potato every single day for the next 30 years.
Alona
You're a sweet potato.
Becca Bastos
I'd fuck a sweet potato.
Olivia
You'd be surprised how many people probably do.
Becca Bastos
Yeah, hear me out. Jar of peanut butter.
Alona
Okay, okay, okay.
Olivia
Do you know how this game works?
Alona
I don't think she knows how this game works.
Olivia
I don't really understand fucking the jar of peanut butter.
Becca Bastos
If I was the opposite sex, I'd fuck a jar of peanut butter immediately.
Alona
Oh, yeah. We just talked about this.
Becca Bastos
Yeah, yeah.
Alona
No.
Olivia
So, like, for example, Adriana's recently. And I'm Is the wolf from the bad guys.
Alona
She just sent in the animated character. I was watching that on the plane.
Olivia
I went, it's an animated. No, you didn't. That's crazy. Adriana. That's crazy. Oh, my gosh. Oh, my gosh. I hated that.
Becca Bastos
Oh, it's someone like you. Like, someone you think is hot.
Olivia
Yeah. Who's, like, weird that you would think it's hot.
Adriana
Finding Nemo, you know, So I was.
Alona
Like, way off with jar of peanut butter and, like, sweet potato.
Olivia
Yeah. It was like, I could.
Becca Bastos
Okay, okay. Ronald McDonald with a shirt off.
Adriana
Like.
Becca Bastos
Like, we don't know what's under there, but, like, I know.
Alona
You know it's good.
Becca Bastos
I know he's.
Alona
You know it's good.
Becca Bastos
And like. Like, his nips are red and, like, he's yellow.
Olivia
Yeah, I hear ya.
Alona
Alone.
Becca Bastos
Okay. I like that one.
Alona
That's a good answer. Yours is Kovu. Who?
Olivia
The bad lion from Lion King 2.
Alona
Lion King 2.
Becca Bastos
He's the sexy one.
Olivia
The sexy one.
Alona
Yeah, of course.
Olivia
Oh, so that's on your cake too. That's on your.
Becca Bastos
That's on my cake.
Adriana
Oh, yeah.
Olivia
I like that bad boy. Mm.
Becca Bastos
Also the guy, like, the surfing Turk. Turkey. The surfing turtle and Finding Nemo, like.
Alona
Oh, yeah, he's got a bad.
Becca Bastos
I think he's really cool.
Alona
Yeah.
Becca Bastos
I think we get along.
Alona
I'd like to take him on.
Olivia
Mama.
Alona
Are you a good gift giver? Yeah. You are.
Becca Bastos
I love that's like my favorite thing.
Alona
Can confirm. She is like, we. Our first year of friendship. You came to my birthday party and you gave me an engraved, beautiful wood and stone cutting board that said girl dinner on it.
Becca Bastos
Yeah, I forgot.
Alona
This is the most awful thing that anybody's ever done to me for me.
Becca Bastos
Yeah, I love it.
Alona
Why do you love it?
Becca Bastos
I just love, like, noticing little things and then giving something that you might not realize or something. I don't know. I. I keep like, running list and then I just think of things someone might like having to do with, like, either something we experience together or like, you know.
Alona
Do you keep a list?
Becca Bastos
I do keep a list.
Alona
That's smart. Good for you.
Becca Bastos
I do love. Are you a good gift giver?
Alona
I can be. I lock in. I have an app on my. I have a. I have a note on my phone too. And I write stuff down, but it depends here, there. I don't think I am. She thinks she's terrible.
Olivia
We're not a gift giving family.
Becca Bastos
No.
Alona
Yeah.
Becca Bastos
What do you do for Christmas? Like, are you guys. Do you exchange?
Olivia
We do, but it's always kind of.
Adriana
Like, yeah, maybe this year, maybe. Maybe next year.
Becca Bastos
Maybe.
Alona
I don't think of anything or normally adrenal is like, I'm not doing them. I don't do anything. And then I literally have a picture of her this year where she was like, I got you something. She has a smile on her face.
Olivia
It was more employee appreciation.
Alona
Yeah, it was a real employee appreciation gift for me. Thank you.
Adriana
I feel like I really shined this Christmas.
Becca Bastos
Really?
Alona
Yeah, she did. Yeah, I did.
Olivia
Well, alone is kind of.
Adriana
She got two air tags.
Olivia
I got an air tag. Yeah. Cause I don't put air tags in my bags. I like to, like, not know where they are.
Adriana
You're waiting at the belt with her.
Becca Bastos
Put one in your car.
Olivia
Really?
Becca Bastos
You're supposed to.
Alona
You're supposed to.
Becca Bastos
Well, actually, I made that up, but.
Olivia
That'S what they're saying.
Adriana
I got her this Norwegian sweater that she's been like, goo goo gaga about.
Olivia
Do we have that yet?
Alona
Yes, it's here. I love it.
Becca Bastos
I have an outfit like you ordered it from.
Alona
From. Yeah, this creator. She's fabulous. And she has a sweater. Wool sweater line. And they're beautiful.
Adriana
It's made in Norway. It's farmed in Norway.
Alona
Yeah.
Becca Bastos
Have you been to Norway?
Alona
No. I want to go. I want to go.
Becca Bastos
I want to do a road trip. Let's do it right up and see the northern lights.
Alona
Yep, yep, yep.
Becca Bastos
Dream.
Adriana
One of my annoying traits about me is I've. I've seen the northern lights, and whenever.
Olivia
People are like, you can see the.
Adriana
Northern lights in upstate New York, and I'm like, I. No, I. I went to Scandinavia, and that's where I saw. You have to put an effort.
Olivia
You can't just be seeing these in New York. It pisses me off.
Becca Bastos
But there was a year where it sh. Like, the sky was a little pink. No, you could really. You could kind of see it. Apparently, like, three days ago.
Adriana
It was, like, the largest solar flare ever, and it was really solar. Or all the lights everywhere. I was like, what the fuck?
Alona
Mm. Damn.
Adriana
Speaking of Alaska cruise ships, people go to see the northern lights.
Alona
Oh, smart. That's what you do up there. Yeah. Okay, last one here in the Lightning Round movie you've seen the most times.
Becca Bastos
Oh, my God. Maybe this is, like, sick of me, but hereditary.
Alona
Really?
Becca Bastos
That movie, a 24 movie.
Olivia
Is it scary?
Becca Bastos
Yes.
Alona
Scary, spooky.
Becca Bastos
It's my favorite one. I don't know. It's not like that I'm sitting down alone watching it. But it's happening so many times that I've been in so many social settings where we've watched it, that it just has happened.
Olivia
Yeah.
Adriana
Damn.
Olivia
All right, let's head on into the book.
Adriana
Now, this is the part where, you guessed it. We talk about books, what's happening in the world, adaptations, book talk, everything.
Alona
First bit of news. Barnes and Noble is opening 60 new locations this year, and this is on top of the 60 they opened last year. Books are back. Books are hot. Books are sexy. How exciting is that?
Olivia
That's wild. I know.
Alona
It was a dying art there. And now we're fully back.
Becca Bastos
Now.
Olivia
Can you read, Becca?
Becca Bastos
I can. I've just recently started learning again.
Olivia
I did actually do see a guy because. Have you seen that? The memes. I'm sorry. Have you seen those memes where, like, get a man to read to you on the first date and how much it can give you the ick. Hearing a man read because they can't read well sometimes. Have you seen this? So she takes him to her. Like, they go out, and she has him read, and he can't read very well. So that's the new thing to do with guys on dates. But then I saw another guy who's actually working on his reading. He never read out loud. And so his page is about him learning to read out loud.
Alona
That's hot.
Olivia
Well, you should hear the reading.
Alona
Okay. But.
Olivia
But he's getting better at it.
Alona
That's admirable.
Adriana
My thing is, if someone asks me to read out loud, it's not hot. They've all seen it. I have a horrible time reading out loud here.
Becca Bastos
Really?
Adriana
Like, I just skip over it. It's like I'm dyslexic when reading out.
Olivia
Loud, so we should all get better.
Alona
At reading out loud. I'm great at it. I love.
Becca Bastos
Remember popcorn?
Alona
Yeah.
Becca Bastos
Reading. I was practicing. I was like, if they went this and this goes around this way. But then if they zigzag this way, I'm. And then I would practice, and they.
Alona
Would barely finish their line before, like. And.
Adriana
And you're into it.
Alona
Yeah. Yeah.
Becca Bastos
And then one time I'd said something so wrong, and it stuck with me for a while.
Alona
Oh, what'd you do?
Becca Bastos
I was. And this was in college, actually. I was in to play To Kill a Mockingbird, and we were reading, and the word was subpoena. You know? Yep. And I said sub poeta.
Alona
Like, senior in college, one time in church. So this was middle school. But I had to read during church. Went to Catholic school, famously. And they just threw me up there to do it. Or maybe I had been practicing, but only in my head. And the line was, and it sprung from their loins. And I read, and it sprung from their lions. Idiot. And everyone in church kind of laughed a little bit. And I think that's fucked up. Yeah.
Becca Bastos
But now, like, how funny of an image is that?
Adriana
So funny.
Alona
I will never forget the word loins in my life.
Olivia
So have I told the story about demonstrative versus demonstrative?
Becca Bastos
No.
Olivia
Have I told that?
Alona
No.
Olivia
One time I had to do a whole class project on demonstrative pronouns.
Becca Bastos
That's how you say that word.
Adriana
And can you define demonstrative?
Olivia
And that's the thing is, I cannot demonstrat. Pull that up for me.
Becca Bastos
Demonstrative.
Olivia
That's what I thought. So it's actually. Can anyone in here. It's demonstrative.
Becca Bastos
Yes. Demonstrative.
Olivia
It's demonstrative. I did this whole class project calling it demonstrative.
Alona
Wait, but I. I don't know.
Olivia
This class, high school, junior year, the cool people were in this class, too. You know what I'm talking about?
Alona
What the hell?
Adriana
No.
Olivia
And I'm saying fucking demonstrative 50 times to explain What?
Alona
This is demonstrative.
Olivia
It's demonstrative. I remember sitting back down and I think somebody turned to me and was.
Becca Bastos
Like, you know, it's demonstrative, and you'll never forget that.
Olivia
Or, you know, it's demonstrative.
Alona
I was like, you'll never.
Becca Bastos
That's in, like, the seven minutes before you die. When your life flashes before you, you're.
Alona
Gonna see that demonstrative hug. Well, are you reading anything fun now that we're learning again?
Becca Bastos
I'm reading a book called All Fours by Miranda July.
Alona
Okay.
Becca Bastos
Which is really. It's a good book. I've been kind of into, like, Woman on a Journey.
Alona
Yeah.
Becca Bastos
Women on a Journey. So I'm listening to the audiobook that you told me to read.
Alona
I'm mostly here to enjoy myself. Yeah. Do you like it?
Becca Bastos
I like it.
Alona
It's good, right?
Becca Bastos
I really like it.
Alona
I like it a lot.
Becca Bastos
So it's fun to, like, listen to that and then be reading.
Alona
And that's her reading it, too.
Becca Bastos
I know.
Olivia
You know what book you should then read?
Adriana
What's the book that.
Olivia
From the writer of she Goes. Also, it's about her adventures.
Alona
I actually gifted her that book. What I was doing while you were reading.
Becca Bastos
That's my natural.
Olivia
That was a fun one. I read. That was what. What you were doing while. What I was doing.
Alona
What I was doing while you were breeding.
Becca Bastos
I'm excited for that.
Alona
That's a good one.
Becca Bastos
I do need a new fantasy book.
Alona
Yeah.
Becca Bastos
Because I finished again, I was gonna say Game of Thrones. Don't even know. Court of Thorns and Roses. And I need something to, like, scratch that itch. It's just the beginning. Getting into a fantasy book.
Olivia
This one's easy to get into, so.
Adriana
It'S called Dark Window one.
Alona
Dark Window.
Becca Bastos
Okay.
Olivia
It's part of our fourth wing club.
Adriana
Yeah.
Alona
Do. I mean, people love fourth wing, but it's a lot to take in at once. This is, I think, a little simpler. This is just a duplex. It's two duplex.
Olivia
Duology.
Becca Bastos
Duplex. Oh, that is cute.
Alona
It's a duology, so there's only two of them.
Becca Bastos
Okay. That's nice.
Alona
Levels of a house.
Becca Bastos
That's nice, sweetie. What are you guys reading?
Olivia
What am I not reading? I have, like, five books from rotation. Literally.
Alona
She stole from my home library. I keep going back to the book.
Olivia
I read from a lot randomly recently. I'm reading Let them theory.
Becca Bastos
You're freaking kidding. Are you gonna have Mel.
Olivia
I am reading, and there's some times where I'M like, I don't know if I would let them do that, but the next part of it is, let me. So it's like, the theory is, let them. Okay, let me.
Becca Bastos
My mom swears by that.
Adriana
Really? You did a video about her, right?
Becca Bastos
Yeah, I did.
Alona
She's on LinkedIn.
Olivia
That was my introduction.
Alona
Such a good video you did.
Adriana
Because then I was like, what is she talking about? And then I recently, like, found out. And then alone and I were at this party, and, like, this blonde woman comes up to us talking, and then I go, becca's let them.
Becca Bastos
Becca's, let them.
Alona
Was it her?
Becca Bastos
It was her.
Alona
Yeah, it was talking.
Olivia
I met her at a party, and the first thing I did was she recognized me. And I was like, oh, let them. Now that I think about it, probably because of you, I was like, let them.
Becca Bastos
And she's like, yes, yes, yes.
Olivia
She's very nice.
Becca Bastos
If they're gonna say let them at a party, you let them.
Olivia
Let them.
Alona
The morning she started that, I saw her in the afternoon. I was telling her story, and she's like, you should probably let them. I'll strangle you.
Becca Bastos
My aunt has listened to the audiobook twice and read the book once. I'm like, I'm telling you, there's something in it. There's magic in that book.
Alona
I'm adding it to my tbr.
Adriana
I just finished Heartless Hunter, and I got it from the library. And so I was like, yeah, real book. Actually, I shouldn't be calling books real or not. I got yelled at about how it's mean to women and what women read.
Alona
And I hear them, even though she is the target demographic of everything that women read.
Adriana
So basically, all I'm saying is that it was through the library, traditionally published, and was it about a witch and a witch hunter?
Olivia
Yeah. Did they fall in love?
Becca Bastos
Did they fall in love and they get freaky?
Adriana
They got freaky, but they haven't fell well, actually, no, they did fall in love.
Alona
You're like, was there a jar of peanut butter.
Adriana
Sweet potato and cheese?
Becca Bastos
Like, I can't believe what I thought that trend was.
Alona
Anyway, it was really weird.
Becca Bastos
I feel like a boomer.
Olivia
I was like, she's getting fucked by.
Becca Bastos
A sweet potato and cheese.
Alona
No peanut butter. Can I just explain?
Becca Bastos
I thought it was like, hear me out. This is what I love, and you might love it, too.
Adriana
So close.
Alona
Love it.
Olivia
I love it.
Becca Bastos
Will you just promise me you guys will have it?
Alona
Just. I'm in my house right now.
Olivia
Olivia was just talking to me.
Alona
I said, I'm gonna do it.
Olivia
But she sent me.
Alona
I sent you a picture of my sweet potatoes.
Becca Bastos
I thought you maybe already had.
Alona
No, I want get to get the right cheese. The butter casts that everyone's talking about. The German cheese.
Olivia
I saw that. You can get it at Whole Foods.
Alona
Oh, perfect. After this, Going to do that. On my way there, I just finished Chelsea Handler's My Horizontal Life because I want. It was really good. It was really entertaining. It was fun. It was kind of. I don't know, it was just like, not eye openening, but it also kind of told me, you don't have to not stress as much as I do about, like, sex and. And bringing people into my life and partners. Like, it is a very special, intimate thing. And I will always, like, cherish it in that way. But that also, like, life is for living, and she's out here living, dude.
Becca Bastos
Yeah, that's probably a good one for.
Olivia
You to read then.
Alona
That's what I'm saying. I really enjoyed it. I ate it up in two days, so.
Adriana
Two days?
Olivia
Yeah.
Alona
Yeah. So, yeah, because we had her on the show, and then since we've had her on the show, I've had two or three different friends be like, my horizontal life. And I'm like, okay, I gotta read that one for.
Becca Bastos
Okay, I'll add it to list.
Olivia
Yeah.
Alona
Okay. That was a hell of a book nook. We are gonna quickly bring you over to our chore wheel. You are now part of the family, so you've gotta hop out around the house. Please choose some chores, and you're gonna be given a corresponding challenge. Okay.
Becca Bastos
Okay.
Alona
You can either do the laundry, dishes, vacuuming, or sweeping.
Becca Bastos
I'll do dishes. Cause I don't have a dishwasher and I'm good at them.
Alona
Oh, do an impression of another Long island icon, Fran. Fine.
Becca Bastos
Oh, Mr. Sheffield.
Alona
Yeah, that was good.
Adriana
You're quick with it, too.
Alona
Okay, Vacuuming, sweeping, or laundry?
Becca Bastos
Laundry.
Alona
Laundry. Share your last three Amazon purchases.
Becca Bastos
Okay, I already know one is toilet paper.
Alona
Real shitter, huh, guys?
Becca Bastos
I do not wipe my ass. I don't know why that's on here. The hell did that get there? Okay, did you say last three or four?
Alona
Three.
Olivia
Three.
Alona
Oh, okay, you give us four, though, depending on what that looks like.
Becca Bastos
Okay. Okay. Okay. Key fob cover. Because I got a new. This is stupid. I got a new lease and it's so ugly. The key, it's very trivial, but I wanted to get a cover for it, and it's, like, pretty cute.
Adriana
Cute.
Becca Bastos
Okay, that's one thing. Candlesticks because I like to pretend that I am like living in Victorian times in my apartment. I don't use like the. I don't use the lights at all.
Alona
Big lights.
Becca Bastos
I just have big candlesticks everywhere.
Alona
You curate about it.
Becca Bastos
I want to get like a long like flowing nightgown.
Alona
Oh.
Becca Bastos
And then take it off to go to sleep. Sleeping in pants or underwear and tongs.
Alona
Okay.
Becca Bastos
Cause mine were disgusting.
Olivia
What do you mean?
Becca Bastos
If you think my freaking makeup brushes were gross. Way too.
Alona
Do not wash your tongs.
Becca Bastos
Was it all just like carbon? It was like, you know, the silicone ones get gross.
Alona
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Becca Bastos
Worn down.
Alona
Damn. Perfect.
Becca Bastos
So I got some stainless steels.
Olivia
Good for you.
Alona
Careful on your non sticks though.
Adriana
I know there's a lot of chemicals in a teflon.
Alona
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. So be careful. Thank you so much, my darling, for coming over. Please follow Becca on TikTok actressbeck with two Cs and on Insta eckabastos. Wash those makeup brushes everybody, please.

Alona
Okay.
Becca Bastos
And a jarpee in a pizza. Sam.

The tone is playful, candid, and endlessly self-deprecating. Banter is fast and the hosts lean into personal vulnerability and shared female experience, creating a sense of camaraderie and inside jokes. The conversation moves seamlessly between serious topics (body image, women’s health, societal pressures) and absurd, laugh-out-loud asides.
This episode offers a vibrant window into the dynamic, fast-paced humor and non-judgmental openness of House of Maher. Even if you haven’t followed the viral trajectories of the Maher sisters or Becca Bastos, you’ll laugh at the specific-yet-universal stories of 2010s nostalgia, embarrassing makeup phases, dating disasters, and female friendships.
