But I wear a bonnet every night to sleep, and I'm obsessed with it. I just tie my hair up, like in a little bun and. And I sleep. And I didn't even. I don't even think I brushed my hair this morning. But this was like straight out the bonnet.

Do you wear a night guard as well? Or a retainer?

[Kelsey Anderson]

I'm supposed to. I clench my teeth so bad at.

Night, but day grinding in your sleep, good for you.

My thing is I spit it out in the middle of the night.

Okay. Everybody always is like, are you insane? I'm like, I don't know.

Yeah, I wake up in the middle of the night, and it's just, like, over there next to Joey.

Did Joey get to see you with a bonnet on at the Bachelor? Was that, like, the reason he chose you, or what do you think?

No, it's a recent. It's a. But he always, like, in the morning, he's like, you need to take that off immediately. He's like, you can wear it to bed, but immediately in the morning, you take it off.

You're not making coffee.

That's what I feel like when I'm wearing.

I only just talked about on this show that I also wear a bonnet. I went on a big hair journey a couple of years ago, and I fell in love with my bonnet. Like, I can't sleep without it now. There's, like, hair getting in my mouth and stuff.

No, no, it's my security blanket.

New baby blanket.

It is. Well, also, I have curly hair. So whenever I'm sleeping, usually my hair gets, like, kind of curled, like, really bad underneath. Looked good, you guys, I was just. I was talking to my TikTok today, and I was talking about how whenever I see you guys at events, I feel like my security blanket. I'm like, oh, my. People are like. I cling on for a second. I'm like, hey, how are you guys doing? And then I can, like, move on. But I know you. Whenever I see you guys, I'm like, it's gonna be a good event.

Yeah. I loved the dress you're wearing. Are you working with Sty?

Yes, I am. That was a Vivienne Westwood.

Oh, my gosh.

I felt honored. I was like, I know. I was like, well, maybe it'll be my wedding. I mean, if they have it in.

Are you a skater? It's skating, right?

No, no, no. You're just. I think you've got almost like flat shoes so that you can go with it because you're just brushing.

[Olivia]

I can skate all right. But our mom made us wear like bike helmets when we were skating growing up. So kind of took the aesthetic right out of it. Even before what we knew what aesthetics were. So can you skate?

[Kelsey Anderson]

Not well. I used to skate in Houston, which is so random. Whenever I would go for like, we would go to MD Anderson. That's where my mom had treatments. And then we would go to the mall and they have a massive ice skating rink in the mall.

[Olivia]

Oh, cool.

[Kelsey Anderson]

Yeah, it was really cool. There's like one girl that was always there that was really good. And then I was always just like holding onto the side and then falling. But I feel like I got better and better. But I don't know how I would be if I went now.

[Camille Costa]

Are you heading to the Olympics?

[Kelsey Anderson]

No, we'll be watching from Park City. It's like a viewing thing there. So Joey and I are going there to watch. I'm excited. We'll, you know, feel the cold, but not in the same area.

And you can get all dressed up for apres ski.

[Kelsey Anderson]

Yes.

We're going to be in Milan. I was like, I thought we were going to be on the mountain. So I was like fur hats, moon boots, like aperol spritzes. But we're gonna be like in the city, which is fine. I could still do a.

Still gonna be as cold, right?

No, it's gonna be about like 50 degrees.

I really love watching any live sporting event, honestly, like, if there was ping. I mean, there is live ping pong. I'll watch it. I just love, like, the vibe of, like, a sporting event. But I do like football. My brother played in college, so I feel like I got more into it because of that.

Do you have a team?

The Vikings I was born into.

Oh, I did know that about you.

My dad's from Fargo, North Dakota. Everyone's always like, why aren't you a Saints fan? It's like, I love the Saints as well because I grew up, like, going to their games like in New Orleans. But the Vikings is what, Like, I grew up watching.

Right.

Every single Sunday whenever they played.

[Olivia]

That's us. We grew up with a father who is a Giants fan. Despite being in.

It's a tough one, New England.

So I think people really hate us for it. But as I got older, I really respected him and admired him for that because I got to know Pat's fans.

As I went to college.

Nothing against them, but they're kind of the worst people I've ever met.

Here's the thing, Olivia. I've said this. We have to be careful what we say. I know, because Adrianna says you can't really. It's hard to have opinions on things like this. What if we meet a hottie on the Pats?

And then they're gonna go back through and see what you've said about Pats.

Olivia and I went to the same university and it was a state school in Vermont.

Like, middle of nowhere.

Pat's country. And it was Tom Brady time. The most annoying motherfuckers I've ever met in my life. Oh, my God. People screaming in your ear about Brady. And I was like, we need to calm down.

This is authentic coming from you. So it soured the Pats for me forever. Yeah, I respect what they're doing now. I've been hearing about the Drake May of it all.

May? What do they say? Like, May is coming or something like that. I feel like I saw so many signs and Stuff from their game yesterday.

It's their qb.

He was like first round pick. Like, he's really great. But then everybody. Well, maybe just the side I'm on. They know a lot about his wife. She does like a bunch of like baking stuff on TikTok and they met and started dating in middle school.

Oh my gosh.

I'm like, wow, I should have, I should have started way back.

I should have locked in back then.

[Adrianna]

That's how you lock in a pat right there.

Yeah, right.

I didn't have a boyfriend in middle school, so.

Neither did we.

When was your first profane go?

You know, it's funny, I feel. I think I was 17 and even then I was like, I was like, I'm about to move away to college. Like, this isn't gonna last. This isn't gonna last.

Yeah. I remember in middle school a boy passing me a note whenever I first moved to this new middle school. And I said, will you be my boyfriend? Yes or no? And he was like the hot, like the hot boy in middle school. It was my first day of that school, by the way. And I said no because I was like, we are too young for this.

[Olivia]

You've always had game girl.

[Kelsey Anderson]

I just was like, this is ridiculous.

[Olivia]

Good for you.

Yeah.

And the not bringing a boyfriend to college, I remember, I like, back then I was talking to friends who wanted you to do that or not. And some like middle aged woman was like, it's like bringing a lunchbox to a buffet. I was like, whoa, whoa.

I never heard that before. Excellent.

That's excellent. Thought I've never heard that yet. I don't know why. I think I was just kind of like I was from a small town. I was like, there's more out there.

Oh, I did bring a boyfriend into college.

Again, like, I am an athlete. I don't really watch sports and I don't watch a lot of football, but I love it. But my aunt is a big Patriots fan. Like, a massive Patri. And when I told her she was going to the super bowl, when I was, I'm going to Super Bowl, I'll bring my friend Casey, she was like, did you know the Pats might be in it? I was like, oh, I. I have no idea what's happening. And so she's actually a little bit annoyed. I mean, I think she is a little annoyed, but I'm like, you have to realize I'm not going to watch the game.

I'm going to go to parties to meet people. Chicken tenders, right? Bad bunny.

I was, like, nervous. Like, I had all this built up, like, nerves. And then I was like, okay. And then I was just there. I was like, did you just let it happen?

Okay. I'll be at Mardi Gras on leaving to go to Philly because Joey's sister's baby shower is that Sunday. So we'll be together, like, Saturday night. But we'll be celebrating all month long, all year long. Every day is Valentine's Day.

[Olivia]

I think that's what's so beautiful about, like, what I mean, from what I see of your relationship and when I do get to see you at premieres and stuff when we catch up real quick on what's happening is, like, just, like, how comfortable you are with each other and sure of your relationship that you are able to go do what you got to do and he's able to do what he's got to do. We still come together and love each other. And I think that's just such a mark of a beautiful, like, strong relationship. Do you feel that way?

[Kelsey Anderson]

100%. I mean, like, I wish that he was able to come to Mardi Gras as well but he also has things that are back to back. And I feel like sometimes we just need a second at home. And right now I'm at home, he's on a golf trip. And then I feel like we're kind of. We're going to Super Bowl. And then he was going to hang out with his uncle a little longer. I was like, I got to go to Mardi Gras every year on my calendar. It's like, mark these dates off. Obviously, Joey's sister's baby shower does come above that, so I'm leaving early to do that.

But just barely, though. Nope, just barely.

[Kelsey Anderson]

I was like, I'm gonna go so hard. The two days of Mardi Gras that I'm there.

[Adrianna]

So are you gonna be on a float?

[Kelsey Anderson]

No, I'm not gonna be on a float this year. Last year I was. It was so fun. Yeah. It's crazy seeing, like, the crowds and everything dressed up.

[Olivia]

Do you.

Yes. Me and my friends, we do themes and we pick them together. This year, we're doing. On Saturday, they're doing, like, I love Mardi Gras theme since it's also Valentine's Day. And they're gonna dress up in pink and red and hearts and all that stuff. And then the day before, it's fur and feathers and we' up with, like, feathers and furs and all this stuff.

Does it have to be Mardi Gras colors within your themes or just. No, cool.

[Kelsey Anderson]

Just whatever. Sometimes we'll do, like, monochromatic Mardi Gras colors. But.

The bane of my existence. I was like, not the toilet.

I'm not a fish person, really. Like, I like sushi. Like, I like raw fish. I don't like cooked fish.

It's going good. I think we have a venue locked in, so that's really exciting. I'm excited to, like, just get the invites out and, like, start doing things I didn't realize, like, how quickly everything. I felt like we had so much time, and then now it's like, where is the time gone? Apparently. I was supposed to pick a dress, like, five months ago. So, yeah, great timeline. I'm just, like, so indecisive when it comes to outfits and what I'm gonna wear that I don't see myself. I feel like it's gonna be really hard to pick a dress a year in advance and then, like, be committed to that dress.

[Olivia]

Yeah.

[Kelsey Anderson]

Like, what if my style changes?

[Adrianna]

Yeah, your trend forecasting yourself.

Yeah, no, I'm really bad at that. So. I remember my prom dress. I even was like, that. I feel like I picked it out, like, a month before, and then I was like, I hate it now.

Is he active in the wedding planning with you?

Joey was, like, hustling, booking all of the, like, places that we were looking at and everything. Like, Making sure that we were getting there, booking the flights. He was really on it at the beginning. So now I feel like it's my time to, like, kind of, you know, take the reins.

Booking flights to, like, venues and stuff.

[Kelsey Anderson]

Yeah, to, like, go look at them and stuff. Like, I was, like, so stressed out. I was like, I can't do this. And he was like, I got it. Oh, yeah.

I love. So you've been trying on dresses now? Five months late.

[Kelsey Anderson]

Not yet.

Yeah, so I'm gonna set. Sell my kidney. No, I feel like it depends on the venue and it depends on the place. California is super expensive.

[Camille Costa]

Yeah.

[Kelsey Anderson]

I feel like I kind of had an idea that they were gonna be expensive just because I have a lot of friends that have been getting married. But, you know, we'll figure it out.

[Adrianna]

We'll figure it out.

Oh, yeah.

Well, you can definitely.

So we're like, we'll figure it out. We'll hustle, whatever we need to do. But I think that one of our friends told us, they were like, it's worth it. Like, just do it. Feels right.

[Kelsey Anderson]

Yeah. If you feel like you really need that. But at the same time, I think that in my mind now, I'm just kind of like, this is about Joey and I getting married. Like, I don't really need, like, it to be so, like, frivolous and crazy and, like, a billion bouquets or whatever, you know? Like, I just. He's there, I'm there. Our favorite people are there. I'll be happy.

[Olivia]

[Adrianna]

So you feel like it's for the two of you? Because a lot of times when there are a lot of other Voices speaking on it. It becomes other people's wedding. But it is like the two of yours. Two your guys'. The two of yours. Yes.

Are you carving out anything in the day just for the two of you?

[Kelsey Anderson]

So I was like iffy about the first look. I feel like some people are very adamant about that. Some people hate it. You don't like it?

I don't. Maybe because I'm self absorbed. I want everyone to see his reaction to me when I come down those steps.

[Kelsey Anderson]

I was like, I'm super. I want to. I want to wear a veil. I want to like walk in. I want, I want him to like unveil me. And I'm like, I want some drama. But Joey's very practical and he explained to me, he was like, we'll get all the pictures out like before, right? And then like we can just like party and have fun and we don't have to worry about anything after. And I was like, you're right because like pictures sometimes take a minute.

[Camille Costa]

They do.

[Kelsey Anderson]

And I didn't think about that. And then we'd miss like our whole cocktail hour or whatever, you know, and it's like I don't want to miss those things. So I'm still like 50. 50. Because I still, you know, the drama.

And your dad will be walking you down. And that's, that's, that's my dog.

I mean a breakfast mine. He came to dance with stars.

We were just reminis so hard.

Exactly. Do you watch them or do you get like PTSD as you watch?

I tried to get into the past couple ones and I just couldn't really. I feel like hers is going to be different though because she was never on the show before. Oh yeah. Like, I feel like it's going to be very different. And there's all new think executive producers and everything that are so. I think that the whole like curation of the show might even look different.

[Adrianna]

Because she's allowed to do social media beforehand.

[Kelsey Anderson]

Like she was doing it during. Yeah, yeah. We didn't have our phones the whole time. I wasn't allowed to, like, post anything really about the show. I. I don't know. It was crazy. There was, like, a lot of stipulations with, like, social media.

[Adrianna]

Interesting. What surprised you the most about reality tv?

[Kelsey Anderson]

I think that in my mind I was like, everyone's gonna be able to understand every single storyline. Everything. It's like, no. Everything's so condensed into such a short amount of time that it's like you don't get to see every single point of view. And I think that that was really surprising because I was like, what? I was like, they hid me. They didn't know that my first kiss was then and not then. And there was little things like that. But I'm like, they literally have to put a week into, I think 50 minutes an hour. So that was shocking. But then at the same time, like, well, that makes. That makes sense.

[Olivia]

Would you do more reality tv?

[Kelsey Anderson]

I think I would. I think it would depend, like, not that kind of reality tv, obviously.

[Adrianna]

She's on her swingers. Joey on her swingers.

But, yeah. No, I stalled times the first time I tried driving my car. So perfect.

One time I got a rental car that was like, partial automatic. Partial. It was like a Fiat partial standard. And they didn't tell me that when I rented it. And so I drove out the lot with it in standard.

Oh, the paddle shifters, something.

[Olivia]

It wasn't even that. It was weird. And the engine was just cranking away, yelling at first gear. I literally brought Y L and I brought it back, and I was like, something's wrong with this damn car. They were like, put it in automatic.

Crazy.

But it's like, yeah, who drives stick?

[Olivia]

And then who eats the crickets? That's the question.

And she showed us that whole process. But yeah, I feel like my mom was a naked mom.

So you feel more comfortable in your body because of it. You think that's awesome?

[Kelsey Anderson]

Yeah, I like. I am. I feel like a naked woman. Good for you. I like to just walk around my house. Joey's like, put some clothes on. There's windows. I'm like, whatever.

Yeah, what am I doing? Well, I'm doing. I feel like I don't have exactly what I'm gonna do to honor my mom yet, but I do. Like, for instance, Joey's grandma passed away last year. And Joey loved his grandma super close. And so something that I want to do to honor her is to throw her favorite flower, like the flower girl, which is peonies. So, yeah, I want to do, like, little things like that, like, little symbols. But I haven't, like, thought fully what I want to do to honor my mom.

It's not even like honoring. It's like you also want her there on the day with you. So what does that look like? Yeah, Yeah, I feel like.

Yeah, I don't really know. I. I've been thinking about it a lot, but hopefully I figure it out. You'll figure it out, girl.

Why is that?

I think that it's almost, like, made me. It's almost like a fight or flight moment where it's like all these people are, like, you know, saying their opinions, and, like, you're getting so much at once from going, especially on a TV show, that I feel like I just almost was, like, had to accept all these different sides of myself and just kind of be like, this is who I am, and take it or leave it. Also, I read this book during the Bachelor, the Subtle Art of Not Giving a Fuck.

And I feel like that also kind of, like, changed my perspective on things.

Relationship with, you know, the Bachelor, but then also it's like, who's the. You're spending the most time with all these girls. And it's like, yeah, not everyone's always going to get along whenever you put 32 women in one place together. But I don't know, it was.

Yeah, it's crazy. No, but I feel like I bonded with, like, so many of the girls, just, like, learning so much about them because you don't have your phones. You don't have any of these other things. You're just talking and getting to know each other. And I never really talked about, like, my relationship with Joey or anything like that with them. I just wanted to, like, get to know them.

Yeah.

I think it's like, on other dating shows, you see, like, Love Island. Like, that's part of the beautiful part is watching those friendships happen as well. So it's kind of cool that you came out with those. I went wine tasting with you in Santa Monica, and I remember they had, like, a. Like a picture of the bachelor mansion on the wall. Yes. Because their vines are around it or something. And, like, she very excitedly, like, pointed it out, too. And, like, it was you, Rachel and Daisy. And y' all went, oh. I remember watching this reaction. I was like, whoa. Just, like, seeing that being back there.

[Kelsey Anderson]

Yeah. Well, it's just so funny because I look back now and I'm like, wow. I wish I would have done things differently. But, you know, it was my first time ever on TV or anything. I was so nervous. Like, I remember the first couple of times when, like, the cameras were around or anything. Like, I was so nervous. I felt so uncomfortable. Joey and I talk about it all the time. Our first conversation. Terrible, really. I thought that I was going home. Night one really was like, I am not kidding. I was sitting in the mansion laying down on this thing. Whenever everybody was, like, getting up in the thing, I was like, oh. I was like, it was not me and you guys, whatever. I did not think I was talking to Joey like this. Like, I was like, so, yeah, my nickname in my family's Bird, what's your nickname? And he was like, well, Joey, that's amazing.

No, I feel like I showed him like a side of me. I mean, I feel like they like the Bachelor likes to show the love story and they didn't really show my personality a whole lot. So then after, afterwards, like on social media, people were like, wait, you're so funny. And I'm like, thank you. I was like, yep. I tried showing that, but I feel like because of how heavy it all is, like you're trying to learn like the biggest parts of people.

Which I do feel like my humor is a big part of me. Like I'm always trying to crack a joke and you know, I love attention. So it's like. But I feel like I was able to show part of that to him. But I feel like also like, with getting comfortable with somebody, you get more and more yourself. And so I was very excited for this one. It's a slower build. Yeah. But I think it's because they've got such a built in fan base with Game of Thrones. They'll watch anything. And I'm almost like no other show really has that luxury of spending time building up the first episode because you just gotta grab people's attention. And from the teasers, it looks like it really builds up.

But third season, the second episode, and then I was hooked, really. The first episode, I was like, okay. Second episode, I was like, whatever. Kind of still. And then I was like, yeah, locked in.

But it took us a week Week. And we had to, like, pause it. I was like, okay, that's enough for me now. Because the book actually is very small.

Yes. So many different animals. Well, my mom was just obsessed with animals. Anytime she would see any animal that was, like, injured or anything, we would just take them in. We had. Well, we had hedgehogs, because whenever we lived in Germany, they would get trapped in our yard, and my mom would grab them, bring them to the vet, get them deticked, and then put them back out in the wild, because a lot of times the ticks would kill them. So there was one time we caught this little hedgehog, and we brought him into the vet, got him deticked, and then the vet was like, he is too small for hibernation. It's hibernation time. So we got to keep him during the winter. Winter. And their little bellies are, like, so soft. And we would hold him with, like, leather gloves. But his, like, he wasn't really. I feel like they wouldn't injure you, really. But he was really cute. And then my mom, she was a, like, police dispatcher for. In Germany, and this snow owl got hit by a car, and someone just put it on a. In a box on the side of the road. And then my mom, like, got the box and brought it home, and, like, we have all these pictures of us, like, holding the snow owl.

[Olivia]

Oh, my gosh. So nursed it back to health.

[Kelsey Anderson]

Yeah. My mom, like, was rehabilitating it. And then also, like, my mom would just find any injured animal. It was Crazy. Like, there was this little. Little, like, brown bird. I don't know what kind of bird it was, but it fell out of its nest. My mom found it, also nursed it to health, but it, like, kind of attached to her, and so she would just walk around the house with, like, a rag on her shoulder, and then the bird would just sit there.

And my mom's like, well, too bad.

Yeah, I have two for your dad. My dad was never allergic. He just didn't really care for the animals. But we always had, like, so many different animals in our house.

But do you have pets? And now?

No.

And I think it's because I know the responsibility of an animal. I don't think it would be fair with how much Joey and I travel, but especially if, like, we adopt a dog, I feel like a lot of times they need even more, like, love and tender and care. So it's like, I. Honestly. Actually, my algorithm recently has been bully rescues. All these different bulldogs or any kind of bully like, that needs to be adopted. I keep just sending them to Joey, but just hopefully the time comes, we're home a little longer, and then we can. We can get some animals.

I mean, I said, I mean, I love like nonfiction books. So like Atomic Habits I really liked as well. Well, but what was. There was one that I read in high school that I remember I was like bawling, crying. Oh, at work. Because I was reading it at work, but I can't remember what it was called.

Why does Atomic Habit speak to you?

[Kelsey Anderson]

I don't know, I just. I like self help books. I like books that like help you like, learn about like routines and things like that. Especially cuz I'm so adhd. I think sometimes like learning more about how to like create structure in my life is like really important for me.

And sometimes I have to reread them, so.

Yeah. You've talked about how you have a hack when you're in conversations with people, right?

[Kelsey Anderson]

Yeah.

Oh, well, sometimes whenever I'm like talking to somebody and they're speaking or if we're in a group conversation, so I don't interrupt people, I'll like do the letter in sign language of like what I want to say. Pretty much. Like if I was wanting to talk about like, I don't know, like a snake, I would like put an S and then I would just like put it on here and let you talk. And then I would be like S. Oh, snakes. And then I would want to like and continue just because I'm really bad at my. I feel like initial response is just like, oh, I want to tell you immediately what I said, but you're in the middle of your conversation.

So I'm like, oh, listen, you're being an active listener.

Yeah, it's really good work.

How did you learn or when did you learn sign language or at least sign letters?

[Kelsey Anderson]

My sister taught me. She loved like teaching us things, my eldest sister, and she taught us all sign language, like the Alphabet.

But it's also hard to learn a language when you can't practice it, you know, with someone.

That's a good one because it's one of those things where, like, people are gonna be like, oh, she's on her phone. Like, you could be doing that same exact thing on a piece of paper. Yeah, it's the same thing.

I'll do medium hard. Yeah. Then I always. I'm just trying to, you know, like, break my.
