Vince
Hey guys, Vince here with some big news and another recommendation for you. First off, How I DIED Season four launches on July 2nd. We're just a couple of weeks away from the launch and I couldn't be more excited. In the meantime, I wanted to recommend a new series by creators of one of my favorite shows. The Invenios Expeditions is a brand new 15 episode cinematic audio drama from Leviathan Audio Productions. Think Raiders of the Lost Ark meets Mission Impossible at Sea. It's the second Leviathan Chronicles spin off and is a brand new franchise within the Leviathan universe. Plus new listeners can jump straight in. It's standalone friendly, but has some Easter eggs in Leviathan Chronicle lore for longtime fans. And I know you guys love How I Died's twisty mysteries. High stakes and more than meets the eye reveals. And trust me, there is plenty of that in the Invenios Expeditions. Fan Favorite characters Captain Geoffrey Tully and Oberlin St. Clair build their dream research boat, the Invenios, which is designed for treasure hunting and deep sea research. Together they build a crew and set sail for the North Atlantic, Mediterranean Sea and Indian Ocean. But before the Invenios can find its first shipwreck, the team spots a mysterious distress flare from a boat that shouldn't exist. Aboard the sinking vessel they find Samantha Kell, the sole survivor of a radical team called Eva Terra, dedicated to fighting environmental justice. She draws the crew into a web of international conspiracy across the globe that leads the Invenios back to the ashes of Leviathan and its extraterrestrial origins. The show just launched on June 17th with weekly episodes. Search the Invenios Expeditions from Leviathan Audio Productions in your preferred podcast app. To start listening now, check the show notes to a link to the podcast and enjoy the first episode starting now.

Edward Carnell

Serena Nairobi
I know, I understand. It's just pushing. Please. I have clearance. Excuse me. Get out of the way. Damn it.
Edward Carnell
Stop. Move.
Military Officer
This is a military zone.
Serena Nairobi
I need to get through. You can' you can have your hand back. Whole or in pieces, soldier. You decide.
Military Officer
Ma' am, I. I can't let you through. This area is being evacuated of citizenry. We're losing magma containment in the city. We need everyone to get to the Zephyr escape craft.
Serena Nairobi
I am not citizenry. I'm military branch. Dark Water Ev. Protocol.
Military Officer
Sorry, ma' am. You have authorized clearance. Go ahead, but you're not going to have much time.
Captain
Let her through.
Edward Carnell
Let her through.
Serena Nairobi
Edward. Edward. Serena, where are you? Edward, are you all right?
Edward Carnell
Serena? Yes, yes, I'm all right.
Serena Nairobi
Thank you.
Edward Carnell
I'm down here. Down here in the cellar. One moment.
Serena Nairobi
Hurry, Edward. Coming. We just lost the Genesis zone and magma is already covering a quarter of the city.
Edward Carnell
I'm coming.
Serena Nairobi
Edward. Did you get my message? Did you find it?
Edward Carnell
Yes, yes, my love. I did get your peacock message. I think I found what you wanted in the vault downstairs.
Serena Nairobi
Oh, thank the Goddess. Was the entire device intact?
Edward Carnell
Yes, I. I think so. I found it beside all your other military equipment. I certainly hope it was worth it, Serena.
Serena Nairobi
More than you know. Thank you for coming back for it. I rushed here as soon as I could.
Edward Carnell
I understand, Serena. But just tell me, is it all true? Are we really abandoning Leviathan?
Serena Nairobi
I wouldn't be moving the parcel if we weren't. Evacuation protocol. Senior military personnel must secure classified equipment in the event of Leviathan's destruction. Here, let me see it.
Edward Carnell
Small, but heavy.
Serena Nairobi
Small, nonetheless. Might be Leviathan's only hope for the future. Here. I've got it.
Edward Carnell
I said it was heavy.
Serena Nairobi
It's fine.
Edward Carnell
I also grabbed this.
Serena Nairobi
Our coin pendants. They're hundreds of years old. Edward, what on earth possessed you?
Edward Carnell
There were no photographs when we met in 1831. And not telling me that we're about to lose our home, our city and everything we have. I don't intend to lose our memories as well.
Serena Nairobi
We don't have time for you to be such a romantic fool. Come on.
Edward Carnell
Serena. We're going to die.
Serena Nairobi
We're not going to die. You know that.
Edward Carnell
I know. I trust you. My royal Princess.
Serena Nairobi
My sweet poet goddess. Come on. This way. Down Reed street, and behind you.
Edward Carnell
The air. Serena.
Serena Nairobi
I know. We have to hurry.
Edward Carnell
How much time do you think we have?
Serena Nairobi
Too little.
Edward Carnell
You should let me carry the parcel.
Serena Nairobi
No, I've got it. Besides luck, you don't have the security clearance to hold it.
Edward Carnell
That show security protocol is going to matter much anymore.
Serena Nairobi
Serena, we're losing the Genesis Zone. It won't be long now.
Edward Carnell
The is collapsing.
Serena Nairobi
Goddess.
Edward Carnell
What the hell do you think happened? Serena?
Serena Nairobi
I. I can't tell. It. It looks like we lost hydrothermal containment.
Edward Carnell
How is that possible?
Serena Nairobi
Unclear. Edward. Edward, look at me.
Edward Carnell
What?
Serena Nairobi
Look at me. Whatever happens.
Edward Carnell
Do you mean whatever happens? No, no, no. We're not going to start talking like this. No.
Serena Nairobi
Serena, if anything happens to me, you have to get this parcel to Mal and Orsal. Edward. Do you understand?
Sinclair Rousseau
Serena.
Edward Carnell
The sake.
Serena Nairobi
Of.
Edward Carnell
Lumaflora. It's burning away.
Serena Nairobi
Edward, did you hear what I said? The parcel.
Edward Carnell
Yes, yes, I misandriate. If all fails, I'll. I'll get the parcel to Councilwoman.
Serena Nairobi
Also, it's critical. Edward. Now let's hurry before. Damn it.
Edward Carnell
What? What does your peacock say?
Serena Nairobi
Reports have magma seeping across the southern half of the city. The LDU troops are pulling back.
Edward Carnell
The flow is moving towards the hangar bay.
Serena Nairobi
Serena, all the people that not everyone's going to get out in time. Edward. Come on. We have to hurry. This way. Let's go. Turn left. We can use the back alley near the squid.
Edward Carnell
I see it.
Serena Nairobi
Go. I'm right behind you.
Edward Carnell
How long until the pressure shield collapses?
Serena Nairobi
I don't know. Edward. Serena, we just have to hurry.
Edward Carnell
Serena, you're a senior Darkwater agent. Level with me. How long before the damn ocean fills this cavern?
Serena Nairobi
The pressure shield is protected by the deepest fail safe buffers in the civic infrastructure.
Edward Carnell
Edward, I said how long? Serena.
Serena Nairobi
Goddess.
Edward Carnell
Edward.
Serena Nairobi
What a. 30 minutes. Maybe less. Edward. Edward, are you okay? Serena, Give me your hand. Come on. I got you.
Edward Carnell
My. My Ankar feels twisted.
Serena Nairobi
Broken.
Edward Carnell
No, no. I think I can limp a bit. Just slowly.
Serena Nairobi
We may not have time for slow, my love. Can you walk if I hold you here? We need to hurry. Yes, yes, I think I got you.
Edward Carnell
Keep going, girly. Serena, do you hear that? Hello?
Serena Nairobi
Help.
Edward Carnell
Please help. Serena, we have to help you.
Serena Nairobi
Edward, you can barely walk. We have to go.
Edward Carnell
Serena.
Captain
Edward.
Serena Nairobi
The parcel.
Edward Carnell
Damn. The parcel. Come on, help me. I'll call if I have to, but better than this.
Serena Nairobi
Quickly, Edward. Quickly.
Edward Carnell
Come on. Help me move some of this debris.
Sinclair Rousseau
Yes. Thank you.
Edward Carnell
Here.
Sinclair Rousseau
Thank you. Can you get to your feet? Thank you.
Serena Nairobi
Take my hand.
Sinclair Rousseau
I think I can manage to get her.
Serena Nairobi
Are you all right? Can you walk?
Sinclair Rousseau
Yes, yes, I think so.
Serena Nairobi
Then we all need to move now.
Sinclair Rousseau
Oh, my God. Oh, my God. Yes. Yes. Thank you. Thank you for getting me out. Thank you. I'm so claustrophobic. You know, I thought I was going to die in there. I couldn't breathe.
Serena Nairobi
Breathing may continue to prove challenging, my love.
Military Officer
Just.
Edward Carnell
Just give me a moment.
Sinclair Rousseau
Your ankle, it's so swollen. Did you break it?
Edward Carnell
No, no, it's just a small.
Sinclair Rousseau
Well, there's three of us now, mate. Yes. Come on. Get in the middle. We can all help each other. Come on now. Hands on our shoulders.
Serena Nairobi
He's right. Hold on to me.
Edward Carnell
No, no, no.
Sinclair Rousseau
You can't possibly save me.
Edward Carnell
Can't ask you to.
Sinclair Rousseau
I saved you. Now, come on.
Edward Carnell
Okay. Okay, that's. That's better, I guess. Thank you. Oh, yes.
Sinclair Rousseau
You put your weight on me. I'm small but sturdy, you know?
Edward Carnell
Too kind.
Serena Nairobi
Come on. The entrance to the hangar bay is a half kilometer north. I've got you, my love.
Edward Carnell
What's your name, friends?
Sinclair Rousseau
Sinclair is the name. Sinclair.
Edward Carnell
Rousseau. Nice to meet you, Sinclair. I'm Edward. This is Serena.
Sinclair Rousseau
Hello.
Serena Nairobi
Hello.
Sinclair Rousseau
Thank you again for saving me. I can't believe this is happening.
Serena Nairobi
You. Dust.
Sinclair Rousseau
Leviathan.
Serena Nairobi
We have wounded. Move.
Sinclair Rousseau
I'm so frightened by all this.
Edward Carnell
Of course you are. We're scared as well. There's too many people, Serena.
Serena Nairobi
I know it. We just have to Keep pushing.
Sinclair Rousseau
The two of you together for more than a century. You must care for each other quite deeply.
Serena Nairobi
Look. The fires have blocked off all south access ways.
Sinclair Rousseau
Serena. Serena. Is it your military branch? Yeah.
Serena Nairobi
I am. How did you know?
Sinclair Rousseau
I noticed your peacock. So tell me, soldier Honesty. Are we going to get out of here?
Edward Carnell
Stop it. Of course we will, sir.
Serena Nairobi
We're almost there. How's your ankle, Edward?
Edward Carnell
Managing.
Sinclair Rousseau
It's Ms. Tanger.
Edward Carnell
Is.
Serena Nairobi
There's just a head over there, that defense unit checkpoint.
Captain
Stay in line. There are enough Zephyrs.
Edward Carnell
The line. Look down at the hangar bag. There's not enough Zephyr craft for everyone. Not even close.
Sinclair Rousseau
My God, look at the crowds.
Serena Nairobi
It's not a crowd. More like a mob.
Edward Carnell
I've never seen anything like it.
Sinclair Rousseau
It's too many. The city? All of it. Sinclair, we were all supposed to live forever.
Serena Nairobi
Look at me.
Sinclair Rousseau
That was the promise.
Serena Nairobi
Look at me.
Sinclair Rousseau
After all these centuries.
Serena Nairobi
We're getting out of here after all.
Edward Carnell
We?
Serena Nairobi
The checkpoint is 100 yards east. We're gonna just push a bit further. Come on. You're with us.
Sinclair Rousseau
Thank you. Forgive me, but. But how exactly are your military friends at the guard gate going to help us navigate this mob?
Edward Carnell
Serena has a way with people.
Sinclair Rousseau
They have a special ferry ticket to give us. Will they just shoot everyone when they run out of zappers?
Serena Nairobi
This parcel I'm carrying is our ticket out of Leviathan. Come on. Captain.
Captain
Captain, you need to keep moving. The civilian evacuation gate is further south.
Serena Nairobi
Captain, I'm military branch. Serena Nerobe, Darkwater under Chief. Scan my pcom. I'm EV Protocol extraction. My team and I need to get through the guard gate.
Captain
Yes, ma' am.
Edward Carnell
This way.
Serena Nairobi
Order now.
Captain
Demagnetize the entry.
Serena Nairobi
Listen to me. I need a military escort to get us down to the launch bay under.
Captain
Chief, you don't understand. We don't have.
Serena Nairobi
Captain, this is EB Protocol diamond status. I need an evac for this parcel and my team now.
Captain
Yes.
Edward Carnell
Yes ma' am, right away.
Captain
Kachurski, Mills, I need you stacked.
Edward Carnell
Yes, sir.
Military Officer
Copy, sir.
Captain
Listen to me. I want you to guard the under chief in her detail at all times. She's carrying a high value class of parcel of vital importance. They have to make it top side. Do you understand?
Military Officer
Yes, sir.
Captain
Let's move out.
Military Officer
This way, men.
Edward Carnell
Let's go.
Sinclair Rousseau
Never seen soldiers carry those before.
Edward Carnell
These assaults rarely drawn within.
Sinclair Rousseau
Leviathan, you know what people will do to stay alive.
Captain
This elevator will take us down to the loading level. Quickly.
Edward Carnell
Get in.
Serena Nairobi
Both of you. Get ready and stay close. We're leaving Leviathan.
Military Officer
Prepare yourselves. Citizens are desperate to escape and the evacuation has driven people to extremes.
Captain
Head left. When the doors open, get ready.
Serena Nairobi
West Tagger Bay. Doors open.
Sinclair Rousseau
I've never seen so many people.
Serena Nairobi
You will be evacuated.
Sinclair Rousseau
There's not enough ships. I can see why you needed a military escort. High Swan, you're swinging.
Edward Carnell
But there's no one in the world like us.
Serena Nairobi
Stay in order.
Captain
Get back.
Edward Carnell
Get in. Get in. Move.
Captain
Don't push him.
Serena Nairobi
Load him in. Now. Now.
Edward Carnell
Not my partner.
Captain
I have to go with her.
Serena Nairobi
Closing hat.
Sinclair Rousseau
Please don't separate us.
Captain
I'm going with her. Hey, he's skipping the queue and grabbing. Let go of me.
Sinclair Rousseau
Don't worry.
Serena Nairobi
He'll get the next one.
Captain
I'm getting on that ship. Who am I digging, spy?
Edward Carnell
Such barbarity. Launch.
Captain
Too clear. Zipper away.
Serena Nairobi
Can we get through? We need to hurry. I'm sorry.
Captain
Under Chief, we're doing our best to clear the crowds.
Edward Carnell
There's.
Captain
There's just too many.
Edward Carnell
Serena, they'll never be able to get all these people out in time.
Serena Nairobi
Well, they're damn well going to get us out. Come on, Edward. Sinclair, stay close to me.
Military Officer
Under Chief, Tube 3.
Edward Carnell
We've got a hot spot.
Military Officer
Zephyr loading now. Almost at capacity, but we're gonna get you on.
Serena Nairobi
Copy. Good work, Sinclair.
Edward Carnell
Lead the way.
Sinclair Rousseau
I've got Edward.
Military Officer
This way.
Captain
Come on, move, move. Out of the way. Protocol.
Military Officer
I'm loading under Chief Nairobi into Zephyr 7J. Launch tube 3.
Captain
Status of a parcel.
Military Officer
Parcel secure, sir.
Captain
Who the heck.
Serena Nairobi
Hey, listen to me. I'm going to put you in the co pilot se you'll be off your leg. Luck.
Edward Carnell
Is our pilot.
Military Officer
All the Zephyrs are on autopilot to the Seagate coordinates once they enter the trench.
Edward Carnell
Let's hope so. You do know it's been over 100 years since my submersible pilot's training?
Sinclair Rousseau
Well, it's been 200 years since I've been on the surface, but that's where we're heading.
Serena Nairobi
Edward, I'm leaving the parcel by your feet. Sinclair, stay close to Edward and get everyone secure.
Captain
What's happening? Why haven't we launched yet?
Serena Nairobi
We're leaving as soon as we get a green light. Launch status? I said launch status.
Captain
Ma' am, your Zephyr is over capacity. We can't launch you. There's too much weight.
Serena Nairobi
The parcel.
Captain
We need to get people off now.
Serena Nairobi
What?
Captain
They're not getting off. You can't force us off. It's a death sentence.
Edward Carnell
Serena, you can't make them leave.
Sinclair Rousseau
The mob will eat them alive.
Nordstrom Ad
I don't want.
Captain
What about our family?
Serena Nairobi
Launch the ship, soldier.
Military Officer
You're too heavy.
Serena Nairobi
Lieutenant. As a division under Chief, I'm authorizing an exception to standard protocol. Launch the ship now.
Captain
You don't understand. You'll damage the launch tubes and your stabilizers. All units. All units. We have lost pressure containment. We have lost pressure containment.
Sinclair Rousseau
The pressure shield has collapsed.
Serena Nairobi
Soldier, light the candle and get us out of here now. That's an order.
Captain
Yes. Yes, ma' am.
Serena Nairobi
Everyone strap in.
Captain
Block warning.
Serena Nairobi
Get ready for launch. Vessel is green. Launch the ship. Launch us now.
Military Officer
Something's wrong.
Captain
What's happening?
Edward Carnell
We're spiraling ships out of control.
Serena Nairobi
Edward, disengage the autopilot. We're going to be sinking.
Edward Carnell
We're sinking. Deeper.
Serena Nairobi
Pull the nose up. Edward, you need to disengage the autopilot.
Edward Carnell
Oh, there. There. Found it. Autopilot disengaged.
Serena Nairobi
We need to stabilize our pitch. The trench is too narrow.
Edward Carnell
Sorry. Find us some lift. I've got the engines back. Hold tight. Look out.
Sinclair Rousseau
We're too close to the trench.
Edward Carnell
Sinclair, how close are we?
Sinclair Rousseau
No good at this. Navigation is down.
Serena Nairobi
We're going to Crash?
Edward Carnell
Not if I can help it.
Serena Nairobi
Collision emerged from.
Edward Carnell
Close one.
Sinclair Rousseau
Very close.
Serena Nairobi
Nice flying, Edward.
Edward Carnell
Thank you, love. Not bad, given that we'll dealt only one functioning thruster and no steering.
Sinclair Rousseau
Where'd you learn to submarine like that?
Serena Nairobi
Edward was trained as a reserve pilot on a pelagic zoology expedition in 1890.
Edward Carnell
They've always been parcels and narwhals. A little bit of open water. Piloting off your Mayan.
Sinclair Rousseau
Modestly, I'm sure. Forgive me, but what happens now?
Serena Nairobi
Once the Zephyrs launch from the trench wall, they're programmed to travel along the sea floor until they reach a sea gate.
Sinclair Rousseau
A sea gate?
Edward Carnell
Yes. A sea gate creates an aqua dynamic vortex that moves objects faster than the speed of sound underwater. It allows the Zephyr and Vespa crafts to move great distances in the ocean. But the problem is they also carry a tremendous amount of kinetic energy. And it usually takes a computer to navigate the tidal eddies surrounding the vortex.
Sinclair Rousseau
Forgive me, but my last foray outside Leviathan was facilitated by Keyhole before the rebellion.
Serena Nairobi
May I ask how old you are, Sinclair?
Sinclair Rousseau
653. And you?
Serena Nairobi
376.
Edward Carnell
We're approaching the Sea Gate corners. I'm going to ask everyone to hang on. We're going to try to do this manually.
Captain
Manually? Is she crazy?
Serena Nairobi
Would have been better off in the flood.
Sinclair Rousseau
You can do it.
Edward Carnell
OK, chap about to drop into the Seagate 4 current. This could get choppy.
Serena Nairobi
Will we be all right?
Sinclair Rousseau
Edward. Your husband?
Serena Nairobi
My partner, yes. For the last two centuries.
Edward Carnell
Two minutes to seagate. Get ready. Two minutes.
Sinclair Rousseau
I heard you tell the soldiers you were dark. Walter. Was that true?
Serena Nairobi
It is.
Sinclair Rousseau
So you've really been up there? The surface.
Serena Nairobi
On and off. Just the last century.
Edward Carnell
One minute.
Sinclair Rousseau
What? What is it like? I mean now?
Serena Nairobi
It's not what you think. It hasn't changed as much as you think.
Edward Carnell
30 seconds stability control.
Serena Nairobi
You might want to hold on to something.
Sinclair Rousseau
Why is that?
Serena Nairobi
Because traveling by Sea gate is by Warning stability compromise.
Captain
We miss the sea Gate, we won't get to the Rodeo Point with the other ships.
Serena Nairobi
Then we float to the bottom of the ocean and die.
Captain
Who the hell are you?
Serena Nairobi
Serena Narobi. You?
Captain
Someone who is not impressed.
Edward Carnell
I hope your partner is a better.
Captain
Pilot than whatever it is onboard. To the sea gate.
Edward Carnell
200 meters.
Narrator
We got a mission.
Sinclair Rousseau
I see something. Two silver rings. They're spinning.
Serena Nairobi
It's the Sea Gate. It's pulling up.
Edward Carnell
Entering vortex perimeter in three.
Serena Nairobi
Get ready. We're heading in in two.
Sinclair Rousseau
Goddess knows where we'll come out.
Serena Nairobi
Everyone hold on. Approach angle E. What's happening?
Captain
We've hit.
Serena Nairobi
I thought we wanted to hit the sea gate.
Captain
To go through it, not smash into it.
Edward Carnell
I can't control the ship. Of course. Of course. Entering vortex.
Sinclair Rousseau
We could end up anywhere.
Edward Carnell
It's got all of the ship.
Captain
It's got us. Hold on.

Podcast Summary: "Series Recommendation: The Invenios Expeditions"
Podcast Information:
In the episode titled "Series Recommendation: The Invenios Expeditions," Vince, the host of How I Died, begins by sharing exciting news about the upcoming season of his own series. He announces that Season Four of "How I Died" is set to launch on July 2nd, expressing his enthusiasm and anticipation for the new content that awaits loyal listeners.
Transitioning from his personal updates, Vince introduces The Invenios Expeditions as a compelling new audio drama that he highly recommends to his audience. He describes it as a 15-episode cinematic audio drama produced by Leviathan Audio Productions. Drawing parallels to beloved franchises, Vince likens the series to "Raiders of the Lost Ark meets Mission Impossible at Sea," highlighting its adventurous and action-packed nature.
The Invenios Expeditions is positioned as the second spin-off in the Leviathan Chronicles universe, establishing it as a standalone-friendly franchise. Vince assures new listeners that they can jump straight into the series without needing prior knowledge of the Leviathan lore. However, he also notes that longtime fans will appreciate hidden Easter eggs that tie back to the original Chronicles, rewarding their deeper familiarity with the universe.
The series follows the adventures of Captain Geoffrey Tully and Oberlin St. Clair, two fan-favorite characters who embark on a daring mission aboard their custom-built research vessel, the Invenios. Designed for treasure hunting and deep-sea research, the Invenios is equipped to explore some of the world's most mysterious and uncharted waters, including the North Atlantic, Mediterranean Sea, and Indian Ocean.
The inciting incident occurs when the Invenios detects a mysterious distress flare from an unidentified boat—a vessel that seemingly shouldn't exist. Upon investigating, the crew rescues Samantha Kell, the sole survivor of a radical environmental group known as Eva Terra. Her survival introduces the crew to a web of international conspiracies that ultimately lead them back to the enigmatic origins of Leviathan and its extraterrestrial ties.
Vince emphasizes that the series is filled with twisty mysteries, high stakes, and unexpected revelations, mirroring the intricate storytelling that How I Died fans adore. The blend of science fiction, adventure, and conspiracy elements promises a rich and engaging narrative experience.
To illustrate the immersive quality of The Invenios Expeditions, Vince incorporates several direct quotes from the series, complete with timestamps for context:
[04:03] Edward Carnell: "Evacuation protocols are in attack. You must evacuate Leviathan. Repeat, you must evacuate Leviathan."
[07:07] Serena Nairobi: "We don't have time for you to be such a romantic fool. Come on."
[08:14] Serena Nairobi: "The pressure shield is protected by the deepest fail-safe buffers in the civic infrastructure."
[21:46] Sinclair Rousseau: "I see something. Two silver rings. They're spinning."
These excerpts demonstrate the series' ability to create intense, high-pressure scenarios and develop complex character interactions, enhancing the overall storytelling depth.
Vince provides listeners with essential information on how to access The Invenios Expeditions. He notes that the series launched on June 17th and releases weekly episodes. Interested listeners are encouraged to search for "The Invenios Expeditions" within their preferred podcast apps. Additionally, Vince directs them to the show notes for direct links to the series, ensuring easy access to begin their listening journey.
In wrapping up his recommendation, Vince reiterates his confidence in The Invenios Expeditions as a must-listen for fans of serialized audio dramas.
