I first met Gus at ATHX in Birmingham. Actually, I first heard him. This powerful voice with a fascinating accent was coming through the loudspeakers while I was pushing myself to exhaustion during ATHX two years ago.

I later learned that he brings that booming voice and big personality to fitness races and competitions all over the world. I wanted to bring him on the show to hear more about his story and how he ended up in this space.

What I got was so much more. He shared how he came to the UK with hardly any money and no English, did whatever it took to survive, and eventually thrived as a coach and business owner.
