Have you noticed something? Have you noticed something? That even on your worst days, there's still something in you dreaming? Like, think about it for a second. Even in your worst seasons, you will have a moment, a glimpse of light, an idea of what your life could be like. Even when you're spiraling in judgment for not showing up, when you feel a lack of momentum, you get a vision of yourself being your best self. When you're thinking of all the things you said you would do. By now, beneath all of this, you're still alive. Oh my God, you're so alive and well, my friend. You don't even understand the power that is in you and behind you and all around you trying to support you. You know, I always say we only judge ourselves so hard because we actually believe in ourselves. You would not judge yourself if you did not believe in yourself. Think about it. It's because you know what you are made out of. You know that there's more in you. It's kind of like those Heinz ketchup bottles that are in the glass one, so the old school ones, you know the bottle is full and you have a nice hot plate of hash browns ready to eat. But you need your ketchup like me. And you know it's in there. You can see it. But no matter how hard you shake the bottle, nothing comes out. But that's how a lot of us feel. We know we're creative. We know we're different. We know we have a uniqueness to us. We know we have so much love to offer. We know that there's brilliance in us and we know the type of lies we want to live. Yet our inner world and our outer reality seem to be out of alignment. And that can be very frustrating. Oh yeah. Especially if you feel like people are kind of living the type of life you're supposed to be living. And you're like, you know what? I'm made out of similar stuff as them. Why are my worlds opposite my inner world and my outer world? Sometimes you can see the life you're meant to live long before you are living it. And that gap, that gap can make a lot of us feel like we have failed. Even though failure is just a necessary nutrient for your foundation. But when we spend so much time measuring what hasn't happened, we stop noticing what is still happening. The dream is still there. Your curiosity is still there, my friend. You are alive and well. There's moments you still catch yourself imagining a different life, a better life. You still see a beautiful space and picture the home you're going to create one day. You still hear a song and want to move your body. Pay attention to that. That isn't your imagination teasing you. That is life. That is your spirit reminding you, hey, I'm still here and we're alive and well. Things are happening for you. Some of us have felt blocked. But don't mistake blocked expression for a dead spirit. Not at all. They're not the same thing at all, my friend. You are alive and well. A blocked river still holds water. A seed beneath the soil is alive. Sometimes what feels like the end is simply life waiting for the right conditions to move again. Even on your worst days, there's still something in you dreaming, isn't there? You still imagine a better life. Even if it's a glimpse, you still get excited about an idea. You can still see the person you want to become. And that means something. It means that beneath all the shame or the regret or the worry or the anxiety, even if it's for a millisecond, even a glimpse, it means that you are still alive. I think back to times where I should have been, like, physically and mentally burnt out, barely ate, barely slept. But I was like, so immersed in something that I loved. The expression was nourishing me, you know, like, expression isn't something that costs us energy. It creates energy. It really does. Our highest form of nutrition is in our expression. How can you express yourself today in your authenticity in being you? Because how good does it feel to be you? To free yourself, to allow ourselves to still become? We're not here to convince everybody else. We're here to be ourselves. Undeniably so. The ones that love us can come closer and the ones that don't, they can keep walking. There's so much freedom in that. As long as we are willing to take off the mask, as long as we are willing to practice non judgment on our humanity while we are being practiced non judgment, Focus on what is alive. My friend. You are alive and well. You are judging parts of yourself that, yeah, sure, need a little bit of work. But there is something in you so bright, so alive, so well, so ready. Ready to live, ready to express itself. Instead of asking, am I doing enough? Am I productive enough? Ask what is alive in me? Maybe that's why I find so much comfort in the fact that, like, no matter what happens, there's still a glimpse of a dream. It's not even because every dream will happen exactly the way we imagine it. We know life isn't like that. But it's because dream itself is Evidence of our light. Evidence that something is inside of us that still wants to grow, still wants to love, still wants to build, still wants to serve, still wants to become. I remember there was a point where, like, so many bad things happen. You know, when one bad thing happens, the dominoes come crashing down. And I was down and out. I did not know if I would ever be able to get back up. I did not think I would continue to do the things I was doing. I was like, nope. And then one day, I'm just chilling, I'm driving, and I see a glimpse of myself in the future. It was only for a millisecond, and right there, I knew you're still there. Although there's a lot of tragedy and debris in your life right now, I still saw the vision. You are still there. And that was enough for me to continue. Sometimes I think we confuse the delay in our life with death. But just because something hasn't happened yet doesn't mean it's gone. You know, like winter doesn't mean that the tree is dead. No, it means that it's growing deeper, stronger, preparing itself for another season. And maybe you've been looking at your life through the wrong season. Maybe you've been asking, why haven't I bloomed yet? While you've been growing. Roots, my friend, the roots don't get celebrated by others. Nobody congratulates the tree for growing underground. Nobody sees the immaculate network of roots and. And how strong they are in the foundation it is creating. They just notice the fruit. But some of the deepest work you will ever do won't be visible. It'll be right now. And that's why you are so alive and well, doing deeper work in your roots. Learning patience is growth. Forgiving yourself is growth. Amen. Learning just to enjoy your cup of tea in the morning without a rush, without feeling guilty, is growth. Not everything beautiful can be measured. And I think we forget that if we only value ourselves on the things we can measure in the world, the dollar amount, the height, the weight, the social media numbers, whatever it may be, sure, those are the icings on top. But our true credentials are in our spirit. It's in our experiences. It's in our light. It's in our unique abilities that we have crafted over time that accumulate, come together and shape our identity. And many of us forget that. Many of us forget how alive we are because we are judging ourselves on the world's metrics. But you are alive. You are in there, my friend. Take time to see it and feel it and believe in only takes one light to turn on a whole room. Only takes one person on the path to turn on their flashlight to illuminate the path for everybody. That is the power of you. And we are practicing non judgment. I've been doing that lately. So I have this thing where I judge myself if I go out and party. The truth is I really didn't party for like 10 years. You know, I'm in Nairobi now. I love Nairobi and Nairobi got an amazing nightlife. I'm not gonna lie, much better than what I'm used to. And for some reason every time I go out and have a good time, I seem to just judge myself. Once it gets to like 3:30am, I start judging myself. Oh my God, it's too late. You're not going to get enough sleep. And I noticed that I would only value myself. The nights I got home early, still got a good sleep and drank nothing but water. Even if I had joy and lots of fun, I'd be like, man, we laugh, we made new friends, we connected, we danced our ass off. Why are we trying to optimize our joy? Trying to regulate the rhythm of the night. Just experience this. Practice having fun for once. Oh my God. Practice non judgment. So I've really been practicing non judgment even for myself and just allowing myself to be. I'm like, yes, you know, we were out enjoying ourselves to 5, 6, 7am yeah, we did that. I know it sounds silly, but hey, we all have our own silly things we need to practice non judgment on. Some of us are trying to optimize our joy a little bit too much. Some of us are trying to measure ourselves in all the wrong ways, not noticing we are alive. We become so obsessed with outcomes, we don't feel the aliveness. I love what Jesus says, you know. Must be like a child to enter the kingdom. What do children do? They notice aliveness. They are alive. They stop to look at the bugs. They laugh with no expiry date. They collect rocks. They stare at the clouds, ask questions. They allow life to happen. And that's what a lot of us are missing. We're waiting for life to begin. While life keeps waving at us through ordinary moments, while the light within us is still trying to say, hey, notice me. Beyond these worries and anxieties and beyond these things that you have to do. Notice what? What is inside of you and through the warmth of a mug in your hand today. Oh my God. That's aliveness. Through a song that still gives you goosebumps. Oh my God, that's being alive through the smell of rain, Through a conversation that reminds you of who you are. Through the urge to rearrange your room and redesign it in your vibe. To buy flowers. Oh that is being alive. To write one sentence, to call someone you love, to remind yourself that you love oneself. Oh my God. These moments may seem small, but I don't think they are. They are invitations, reminders that your spirit is still participating, that you you're not finished. That something inside you is still responding to beauty. And I hope you never lose out my friend because you are alive and well. Smile because the signal is still there, life is still calling your name and maybe your only job right now is to recognize and say I'm still here. I still got a light that shines so bright I haven't forgotten and I'm willing to take a step forward to have one conversation, to write one page, to take that walk, to sketch, to pray, to lean into honest expression as nutrition and know that even a glimpse of a belief, a glimpse of a dream, a tad little vision of who you can be means that you are alive and that's all that you need and it will grow and you will succeed my friend. You are doing better than you think and you give yourself credit for. Don't worry, things are going to elevate even more. You are still alive. Protect that, feed it, listen to it, trust it. That's yours to protect and nurture. You understand? But no. We are in this together, remember? When you look back later, in hindsight you'll realize it wasn't your achievements that kept you going. It was that little spark inside of you that you refused to let go of. The one that kept dreaming that was you. And even on the days you forget how to believe in yourself, don't ask yourself how far am I? How far behind am I? Why me? Instead ask what is in me and then notice you are still alive and you done know in hindsight everyting gonna be more than alright. I'll see you soon.
