I o. You know, I believe the mind should be a playground, you know, the most fertile soil that one can find. Because that's where everything starts. If you think about it, anything you look at that was, like, made by humans started in the mind. And anything you look at in the world that is natural started in the mind of God. It's creation, you understand, and our ability to roam free in directions that we truly want to be in. My friend, that is a great power, but also a responsibility. The mind is so powerful, so powerful that sometimes we're afraid of our own minds. We try to run away from ourselves. And it makes sense, man. It's a great power. And the mind can cause so much pain. But I believe the mind is always asking us, calling on us, you know, to stand up and roam free and dream and drift into, you know, possibilities. But this takes effort, you know, a lot of effort. This has been a big theme for me as of lately, to be more in alignment, to have a beautiful, harmonious relationship with the mind. Because it's not a linear relationship. We know that. You know, our human experience, you know, one year we could be super confident. The next year, you know, we might have gone through a very difficult situation. And the next thing you know, we lost our confidence. Even though we're older, we've gone back down through a valley, despair, trying to find ourselves again. It's a beautiful experience, isn't it? Strangely beautiful. But many of us, we have allowed our mind to wander a little bit too far in directions that really don't deserve our attention. You know, I was realizing this the other day. I was ruminating on something. Ruminating and ruminating. To be honest, I was steeping in worry. I was creating narratives, conspiracies. You ever done that? No. I know you have done that. You probably already did it today. You know, the mind has, like, a mind of its own. But that's why we're here, tuning in, in hindsight, to renew the mind, you understand, because it is so beautiful. And, you know, you are beautiful. The things you are doing, the things you are building, the life you are living, it's time to love it. And let's be honest, some of us haven't been utilizing our mind to the best of its abilities. You ever seen one of those videos, like on Instagram or YouTube or someone showing, you know, like, a. A function or a secret function that the iPhone or a computer can do? And you're like, man, I've had this phone for five years or this computer for four years. Had no idea it could do that. The deeper we go, the more we explore, the more we discover and the more we get to receive. Many of us, we may have been doubting ourselves in this season, thinking we do not have the tools that we need to succeed, but, my friend, you have a mind, a mind that was crafted and gifted to you in the likeness of the most high God. You understand creation, the whole universe. You know, lately I realized again, yes, I have been ruminating, and I'm a very positive person, like, incredibly positive. Positive. The type of positivity that packs our bags and, you know, just goes to Africa and says, hey, let's see what's over here. For me, you know, I'm really good with uncertainty. I'm really good with the unknown. But there are certain domains or certain things in my life that I will ruminate and steepen those worries so deeply. And I wasn't aware of it as of lately, and I was like, oh, that's interesting. We can be so positive of one part of our life, but then another part. We're ruminating. We're deep in our worries. Our attention has been captured, which means our energy has nowhere to go. And when we ruminate, where do you think that goes? It goes right into our body. It goes into our organs and goes into our muscles. We become tense. The relationship. The relationship with our mind, our thoughts, our emotions, our body, our spirit. It's a symbiotic relationship, one that I don't think we will fully ever understand. But we can understand one thing. Our thoughts affect how we feel. You know, there's a thing called broken heart syndrome where some people literally pass away from a broken heart, where the tsunami of emotions and Pain floods the heart, raises the blood pressure valves open, trying to control the blood pumping, and it damages the heart. Isn't that interesting that when we are ruminating that it can have a negative effect on our body? But if we are also roaming free in our dreams and our possibilities and thinking of beautiful things that we are doing and affirming to ourselves that we have all the tools that we need to succeed. And we reconfigure, we rewire, we renew our mind. So our default leans to beautiful things 80% of the time. What do you think that's going to do for our body as well? Oh, my God. We're gonna feel calm, centered, grounded. Energy is going to be flowing. And in this season, as I've been ruminating on, like, one or two things quite negatively and not being fully aware of how much I was doing it until I became aware, I started clocking my mind. You know, I went for some nice, like, a little Japanese, like, miso fishy soup the other day. I forget what it was actually called. And I had some veggie gyozas and a nice sencha green tea. I'm just sitting on a nice outdoor patio in Nairobi. You know, my first day back in the country, nothing but a beautiful experience. And no matter what I was thinking about a minute later, my mind would just drift into a negative. And I was like, whoa, whoa, whoa, what's happening? The mind keeps going in these other directions and these rough alleys. I had no idea. I had no idea that we are ruminating that much and worries, creating assumptions, thinking of every situation that possibly could happen. Then I started to think about it. I'm like, when did this happen? Because it wasn't always really like that. And again, you know, this happens to all of us. But if you have been noticing that you haven't been feeling, you know, centered, grounded, balance, or you're not producing the results in your life, you need to do a. A check in on the mind. How's the mind been? What is your default mode? Is your default to ruminate and steepen worry, or is your default to dream? You understand? To think of possibilities, to wonder, to dance in the mind, to dance in uncertainty, knowing anything could happen. Anything could happen. The most beautiful outcome could happen for me. The most beautiful outcome could happen for you. Does your mind naturally think like that? I'd probably say for a lot of us not. And, yeah, we may take time to, you know, set our intentions and do our affirmations, and that's great. But a lot of the times, what Happens, we do our affirmations or our manifestations from a responsive fear. You're worried about money. So now you're constantly affirming to yourself, oh, money is flowing to me. Money is flowing to me. Money is flowing to me. And that is great. That is a practice. We must practice our presence. We must practice renewing the mind. But really, what. What is the goal? Right? The goal is. Is to get the mind to a place where the default. The default is your mind drifts into wonder and into beautiful places. You don't even have to force it to go there. That if you do get distracted from the present moment, that your distractions are beautiful. Wouldn't that be amazing? That when you drift, your mind just drifts into the beautiful home you are crafting for yourself or the family or the business, or you drift into some beautiful memories of the past, you know, somebody that you miss. Or you drift into a vision of the future, your highest self, the life you truly want to live. And know that you are becoming it is being created right now. You don't even have to force yourself to affirm it to yourself. Your mind just gets there. And I was like, yeah, that's what I want. That's what I want. We want to roam free. We want to use our free will to truly utilize our mind to dream, to know that anything is possible, that we set our what our mind to. But to set our mind is something we need to be able to focus, right? And it needs to be a practice. This morning I had a really beautiful stretch, and I realized I haven't stretched like this in a long time. I was stretching for about an hour, and I could actually feel a lot of those worries in my body releasing. And I was like, oh, there they are. All those worries, all those times we were ruminating and steeping ourselves. And those fears, where did they go? They didn't go nowhere but into our body and into our muscles. The last few months, I was doing this thing where I would crack my neck and like, I would kind of like turn or whip my neck, like really aggressively. Actually, in a crack, people be like, damn. And it became so normal. And I realized, that's stress right there. That's stress right there. Create more space. Create more space for yourself to release and be. And I created that space this morning, and it was beautiful. I could just felt my body becoming lighter, the mind becoming more centered and automatically could see our power, feel our power. And the rest of the day, it flew beautifully and went into directions with ease. We were able to apply Our attention to the things that deserved it. Now, I don't want to demonize worrying completely because worrying has a utility. Worrying allows us to come up with solutions, to do something about a problem. So we go into the mind and we really think about this thing. There comes a point where you have to stop worrying. And what is that point when there is nothing else that you can do, when you cannot control the situation any longer, when you have done everything that you could do, you step back. You know, it's like if you paint a room and before you lay the next coat, what do you got to do? You got to let the paint dry. There is nothing you can do with that room with those walls until the paint dries. Now, if you keep coming to the wall and poking it and seeing if it's dry every hour, what's going to happen? You can leave fingerprints on it. You're going to ruin what you are making. You're going to ruin the space that you are crafting. And we, when we constantly ruminate in our worries after the point of knowing there's nothing else we can do, what do we do? We ruin the fertile soil within our mind that is supposed to be used for planting ideas. Planting ideas so we could get inspired. And those energies inspire us into action. And we create, we build, we live, we experience. You know, a lot of our time these days, you know, as a global community, a lot of people's times are going to their phones, their screen, and a lot of times going to warring between those two things right there. Many of us could be losing 30, 40, 50, 60, 70% of our time every single week, wondering where's all the time going? The time has gone because we are sleeping and worrying and we are constantly scrolling. But if we could just create a little bit of space for ourselves, right, and start to clock the status of our mind. It's actually been very joyful for me every time my mind drifts into a random worry, like my mind will just go and create. Like, I have this one situation right now, a little bit of like a kind of not really a business thing. But this is, I think I'm not going to get into the details, but this engagement, engagement. I'm not really enjoying how the people have been moving. They've been very slow with some certain things. And my mind will come up with all these narratives and these conspiracies of like, what they're doing or, you know, they're not telling the truth. And actually they're covering for this because they don't want to Tell me this. And, you know, really now, I spent this money for no reason. And, you know, all these. All these, like, things that, like, I cannot control any longer. And it has occupied so much space in my mind, y', all. So much space in my mind, y', all, that I realized, no, I'm taking my power back. You are taking your power back. You're taking your mind back. Because your mind is a beautiful place. Do you believe in that? Do you believe that your mind is a beautiful place? If not, there's work to do. And when your mind does drift into a dark alley, a rough alley, don't judge yourself. Just say, huh, there you are, and pull it back and give yourself a focal point to bring yourself back to the present moment again. I've been doing this thing that when my mind drifts, I ground myself. This happened to me in the grocery store yesterday. My mind drifted, you know, into this, like, negative, rough alley. What if this happens? What if I lose this? What if? And then I said, come back, come back, come back, come back, come back, come back, come back. And I point out three things that I can see. I was like, okay, I can see the teller. Okay, I can see the mangoes in the corner. And over there, I can see Nike shoes that that girl is wearing. And then I identify two things that I can feel. Okay, I can feel the shopping cart in my hands. I can feel my feet on the ground. Then I identify at least one thing or maybe three things. I can hear. I can hear the beeping every time the teller rings up another item. I can hear the music. The other day, it was actually some beautiful, like, old school Afro beats. Oh, my God. The classic instruments in there were amazing. And I can hear the cars outside. And what does that do, right? We come back into our senses. So we come back into the present moment. You have senses, right? You can see, you can smell, you can taste, you can feel. You have all these beautiful senses that can bring you back into the present moment. You just need to ground yourself, and you bring your mind back, and then you direct it, and you direct it in a direction you want it to go. And you remind yourself that you are creating a better environment for yourself, that our mind is a playground for us to roam free and play and dream and see our potential and see the possibilities. So I told myself, every time my mind drifts into the negative, I'm going to bring it back and think about this podcast, because I've been thinking about this podcast a lot, but I've been thinking about this podcast A lot in some negative ways. For a while, I wasn't really seeing the full scope and value of it. It's almost like I was romanticizing the past of it, but I was like, is it really needed anymore? And it wasn't really until I was running into people in person and they were reminding me of what this podcast has done for them. And then I was doing some further studies on just. Yeah, just how much the mind plays a part in our physical as well, is that when we are calm and we are centered, we are more healthy. You know, our heart is good, our organs are good, our nervous system is rested. And I know this podcast does that for a lot of people. And I was like, wow, my voice, my talks, literally calm people. People tell me it literally calms them down, brings her nervous system to a rest. How beautiful is that? And it really, like, renewed my mindset on something. You know, mindset is everything, right? You could have everything you need in a season and not even see it because you're being so pessimistic and being so negative. You could have the most beautiful partner in front of you by your side, but you can't even see it because you've allowed the mind to steep in worries, to steep in fears. And I told myself, every time the mind drifts, I'm going to think about this podcast, think about it in beautiful ways. And I was like, you know what? Oh, wow. The other day, I saw Pharrell do this, like, cool, like. Like, water tsunami fascist show installation, I think, in Paris, I'm not sure where. And I was like, oh, you know what? That'd be cool if one day Pharrell hits us up. And I was like, yo, we need some audio. We need some audio for this installation. I'm like, yeah, that's how dope this podcast is. That's how dope our voice is. We can do that. And I was like, yo, what if we start to make physical products to play the audio, creating space for people so they can disconnect from the tablets and have, like, some piece of analog equipment. I already know I want to do vinyl records for the podcast. Like, I was like, yeah, you know, And I told myself, every time the mind shifts, we're going to come back and we're just going to romanticize the most beautiful possibilities for this podcast. And I started to change the language. You know, I don't like to have to language. Oh, I have to do this. I have to do that. I have to record. And I said, I am, you know, I am connecting with my community. You should remind yourself that you are building a beautiful life, that you are creating a beautiful life. Right? You don't have to. No, you are. It's just your emotion already. A lot of the times we do not notice the transformation. Why? Because we are in it. We are literally transforming. We are in it. Remember, my daughter one time said, hey, dad, when do trees grow? And I was like, that's so true. You never. You never notice the tree actually growing. You just notice it grew. It's taller than it was a year ago. But you never saw it in real time, literally rising to the sky. No. And the same thing goes for us. We are growing beautifully. We are deepening our roots, and we are renewing our mind. Because our mind is a beautiful place for us to roam free and know that anything is possible. And you have the ability to ground yourself, center yourself every single day, and know that you do not need to steep in those worries. But when we train the mind, because mindless patterns. When we train the mind to worry constantly, when we train the mind to see the negative in everything, when we train the mind to trust nobody, what happens? That is our default. So we can do the opposite. We can train the mind to see beauty. We can make our new default. Roam free into wonder, roam free into dreams, roam free into possibilities. And that's a beautiful thing. So we are moving our body, stretching, making sure that we are releasing, we are writing, we are in our journals. We are affirming the most beautiful possibilities to ourselves. We are picking at least one thing we want to be grateful for in gratitude for and focusing on it and all the possibilities that can come from that, from that relationship, from that business, from that new move to that new city that you made, whatever it may be. Maybe you're playing mind games on your phone instead of scrolling. I started doing that. I downloaded mind games. So instead of, like, scrolling or, you know, seeing the drama on Twitter or whatever it is, or the news, playing mind games, sharpening the mind, memory games, training the mind, because we love the mind. So we're going to nurture the mind. And we're eating the foods that truly nurture and make us feel good, giving ourselves the best input so we have the best output. And with this effort and consistency, having fun with it, we'll notice that our mind has become our favorite playground. That when we get distracted and we drift, it's all good because we just drifted into, like, a beautiful memory. We just drifted into a beautiful vision of the future. And it did something for our nervous system. And the next thing you know, we came back into the present and we apply that energy into the next step and then into the next step and then into the next step again. And it started with the mind and with the spirit and with the body. A harmonious relationship between them all. And you're done on. I had said every 10 gonna be more than alright. I've been really focusing and creating some beautiful practices for the mind. And you know, when they are complete, I will share them. I will share them. I am documenting the new, the new renewal of the mind because we're going to create the most fertile grounds ever. That when we have an idea and we plant that seed, oh my God. You're going to be like, oh my God, how did we just create this so fast? Because that's the power of you. See you soon.
