I oh, let's go. I oh, let's go. I think a lot of us might be in a season right now where we're in the unknown. Here, uncertainty. You want certainty, you want comfort, but there's nothing but space, and it's uncomfortable. And for me, physically and metaphorically, you know, I. I agree with that statement. I'm literally living in an empty space, and it's actually very uncomfortable because it's. This is all I have to sit on. It's a nice little chair I got at the market. They said these little stools are, you know, for telling stories. So it kind of fits, right? But still, like, you know, no couch, no floor pillows, no rugs. You know, the home is empty. It's a process to fill space. It's a process to, you know, you know, create a new sense of comfort, to sit you up, sitting, situate yourself in a new position. And a lot of us, yeah, we may be in the unknown right now. I think one of the most beautiful things is as human beings, we dream in the dark, right? Like, when does imagination get sparked? When does creation call us to create something new in the dark? Right when something has ended. You know, I feel like that, too, for even, like, my YouTube channel. Like, I'm like, man, I like, I want to imagine something else. You know, I still want to do. I want to do something that's more storytelling, more lifestyle, you know, still with the T. I want to develop a. A new format, especially in this season, you know, something that excites me, and that's the key right there. What excites you in this season? What excites you? You know, it's so easy to start to live a life on autopilot, doing what we think we have to do and need to do. And, yes, you know, we are adults, and we have responsibilities, right? But our ability, as well to respond to life in a way where we are creating joy and creation and connection and imagining ourselves. That's how we keep that spark alive, right? So I think in this season, a lot of us, we have to be comfortable with sitting in that unknown and being able to play with it, you know, play in that space. Little side quests. You don't have to define the space. You don't need a outcome for that space. You don't need even a goal. You're just being in that space. That's actually a very, very difficult thing to do for a lot of us. It's just to be in a season. To be in a season without having to learn a lesson, without no defined goal, you know, without, like, some, like, monster mission or whatever it may be, but just be. And try to find ways to instill joy into the process. More joy, more playfulness, more creation and using our imagination. At first, I was very overwhelmed by this empty space. And then I realized, man, this is actually amazing. Every single day, I'm looking into emptiness, into a big void, which means every single day, I'm using my imagination, right? Like, I look at the wall, it's this blank. So I'm imagining. Do I want to color the walls? Hmm. What about this corner? How do I want to utilize this corner? Hmm. The lighting. I don't like the lighting. Around 2pm what kind of drapes do I want? Constantly using my imagination. And that's the beautiful thing about uncertainty. That's the beautiful thing. When we are dreaming in the dark, when we are in a liminal space, when one thing is closing and another is beginning, we start to use our imagination again. Which means what? We're going back into a place where that childlike spirit is right? What did Jesus say? You must become like a child again to enter into the kingdom. That's a magical place to be. So anytime you find yourself in the unknown again and it's overwhelming, right? We start to feel anxious and overwhelmed again. I was feeling very overwhelmed by how much I have to do. And then I shifted my perspective and I said, I get to use my imagination in this season. And in a way that I really wasn't getting to explore in another season. Why? Because everything was certain. Everything made sense. There wasn't much need for my imagination. Because human beings, we dream in the dark. When things are uncertain, we create new possibilities for ourselves. When one passion comes to completion, we get to ask ourselves, what else is in me? So I met this guy who was a poet at this TED Talk experience I was at the other day, and we were having A conversation. And we were talking about actually, you know, the unknown. And he was asking me some questions, and he was explaining how he was really big into coding and, like, engineering. Like, he was known in high school for being a coder. Like, that was his pathway for school. And, you know, that was the direction. Direction he was going to go into. He could code anything. He understood algorithms. That's why he was defined as. That's what his family expected of him as well. And he genuinely had a gift for it. And then he said one day, out of nowhere, it just died like that. The whole coding thing just died right when he was coming up into that moment where he would be going to post education for it. And he said, it just died. It wasn't in him anymore. And he just couldn't go in that direction. And, of course, imagine the resistance that he experienced from his family. What are you doing? What are you doing? This is a good career. Oh, my God. Come on. You have a gift. You've been doing this for the last seven years. This is what we've been saving money for. You're going to school for this. And he's just like, no, it died at me. It's just not in me anymore. And all he knew was that he wanted to write poems, had no idea of anything else. He just wanted to write poems. And that's what I love about the unknown, right? When we dream in the dark, we're often given just a glimpse of light. A little pebble, right? And we have to pick up that pebble. And when we pick up that pebble, boom. Another pebble reveals itself, and the path slowly starts to illuminate. So he allowed that dream to completely die? Actually, he said he allowed that part of himself to die. He let go of it, and then a new version of himself emerged, and he actually became an actor, you know, a trained actor. And then he became a poet. Very creative individual, you know, very beautiful with his expression. It was actually quite interesting to hear that he was, like, techie nerdy, you know, coding. And then, boom, allowed that to die and came into this new individual. And a lot of the times, so many of us, you know, myself included, we get stuck and are always holding on to these versions of ourselves that have defined us and brought us to where we currently are. But our old ways, like I always say, may not serve us in this new space. And I think having the courage to fully let parts of ourselves just go without knowing where you're going to go as well, is one of the most immaculate and important skills to be able to stand and dream in the dark, to be able to sit in the unknown and not trying to solve it right away, not trying to fix it, not trying to escape it, not trying to numb it, but being able to just sit in it and then ask a question and then just allow the answer to reveal itself. And we take a step. We take a step out of curiosity. We take a step out of courage. We're following joy and new interests. You have to have the belief that life is always showing you something and teaching you something, and life is always working in your favor. But sometimes life will pull you into these spaces just so your nervous system gets rocked a little bit and you let go and you start to imagine again. You start to use your imagination, and you have a new creation forming within you. A lot of us are going to be almost completely different people two years from now. Same essence, but different. But we have to allow ourselves to let go parts of ourselves, versions of our life, maybe careers, maybe relationships. It may be identities, it may be ways of thinking, maybe philosophies, it may be religions, whatever it may be, that have brought us into this point. But to move to where we're supposed to go, to where our energy wants to flow, we're gonna have to dream in the dark again. We're gonna have to imagine what could be and sit in it. Just like every day I sit in this empty space. I just sit in this empty space every day. And I look around and I'm like, what will come of this place? At first, I wanted to rush. I wanted to rush because I knew the emptiness would be uncomfortable. And I just wanted to fill space. And how often do we do that in life? We try to fill space. We fill a void, try to fill it with this distraction. We feel a void of love here. Try to fill it with this person. Try to run over here to this opportunity, and the next thing you know, you filled your life with things that are truly not even in alignment for you. And I told myself, in this actual physical space, I don't want to fill it with things I don't like just because I need something right away. No, I'd rather sit in the empty space and imagine what could be and fill it with things that I truly love. And the same goes for in our life, building connections and bridges with people who we truly want in our life, not ones that just, you know, fill the void right now because we don't want to be alone or being able to sit in the unknown, in our creative expression again and not Just performing old versions of ourselves to uphold whatever we've built, but allowing ourselves to deconstruct or completely just let go. Some passions have a purpose up to a certain point, and then we have to let go of it. Even if you were defined by that. And I think that is true courage. I think if we develop that skill in life, the ability to step into the unknown and discover ourselves again, which will happen many times in our life, it will happen in relationships, it will happen in our own life, it will happen in our careers, it happened in our creative endeavors. It will happen in our sense of ourselves. We will always get pulled into these spaces in life where we start questioning again. But if you can see those questions from a place of curiosity and actually place joy and meaning into that season instead of trying to numb it or escape it, my friend, you're going to be one of the most resilient. You will be one of the most resilient individuals who can adapt, who can pivot, who can play, who can reinvent, who can create, who can imagine themselves. And you're going to continually be evolving. So that's the space that we're in, right? We're using our imagination again. We're imagining ourselves. We're imagining what life can be. We're not rushing to fill space and we're learning how to be comfortable with it. You know, this morning I wrote a letter from my future self to me and it felt so good and I even dated. I think I'm gonna make this a practice. I even dated when in the future Allah was so I want to see by that date if the things that I wrote come into fruition. And you know what? I think they will. I think they will. Why? Because we used our imagination and it felt so good that we believed it. It's going to pour through our actions and because we have faith, we know things are working out for us behind the scenes. Bringing it altogether, you know, then you done knowing I inside everything gonna be alright.
